Starting point is 00:00:00 This is a podcast from Rover. Welcome to the podcast equivalent of a you-up text. Messy, slightly regrettable, but you'll still come back for more. This is the Clint McGinn-Dan podcast. Take the edge off for your mornings with Clint Meg and Dan. Hedge breakfast. Bang on Sixth, God, good morning, Wednesday. Thanks for tuning in.
Starting point is 00:00:21 Happy hump day. Yikes, that was something to see. Yeah, sorry, that'll wake you up. That was a little bonus for me and Clint and Clint. Carl in the studio here. If you're new to the show, actually, Dan doing a bit of a thrust there. Dan's wife famously bought him a hula hoop
Starting point is 00:00:37 to help him with thrusting in the bedroom once. I know, yes, she did. It was when we first got together because I wasn't very loose in the hips. I was sort of doing it with my whole body. Every time I see a hula hoop, it reminds me of that now. Like, literally while I was on holiday on the cruise ship,
Starting point is 00:00:50 some chick came out on stage. It's part of one of the shows. And she had a hula hoop, and eventually she brought out like 20 hula hoops, and she does them all at the same time. And I was like, I wonder if Dan could do that. I sometimes still see that hula hoop hanging in our garage
Starting point is 00:01:02 and it was just sitting there depressingly. I think I hooled maybe a couple of times before I gave up. That's right. You nailed it that quickly. No, no, no, no. Shockingly bad. My mum's a great hula hooper. I'm not surprised, don't you surprise, Clint?
Starting point is 00:01:14 No. No. No, I'm not. No way. Anyway, let's move on from the hoolery. Yeah, yeah. I just don't know anyone else in the history of the world that's ever gone. I want to get better at thrusting the bedroom.
Starting point is 00:01:28 Maybe I'll get a hula hoop. I think Hannah Googled it, to be honest. She was like how to improve her humping. Is it like a weighted one? Like a big weighted? No, it's just one from the warehouse. That's just a normal one. Clint, Megan Dan.
Starting point is 00:01:42 Oh my gosh. Tomorrow we are doing a photo shoot. We do these like, I guess. Would you say buy annually? Every couple of years, the show does some marketing. We put on the side of buses and on billboards and stuff. And they need to do a photo shoot to take photos of our ugly mugs. last one I was pregnant in.
Starting point is 00:02:01 I think I was about four or five months pregnant. Here was a lot shorter too back then. Yeah, yeah, it was. It's grown quite well. Can we make a pack, do you and me? You know, who are you talking to me? Yeah, you, Dan. No mouth open shots.
Starting point is 00:02:13 Because we always do mouth. Guys, I'm going to tell you that because you guys always are doing it. Yeah, we always take a mouth open shot and it's just asking for a CNB in it. It is. It is. And because it looks like you're enjoying yourself and you're joking and laughing. But you're right, the amount of CMBs. The amount of times I've seen myself on a little.
Starting point is 00:02:29 one of those dairies, you know, where they've got those little posters and someone's put a C and B in my mouth. Sorry about that. Is that the pink dairy just down from my house? I knew it was what he is. The last three shoots, I would say, Dan, his mouth open. Yeah. Yeah, so you can't do it this time. At least mine's fine because someone threw popcorn, so it makes sense that my mouth's open.
Starting point is 00:02:50 I don't know why your mouth's open. Yeah, the last one, they're throwing stuff and go kitchen in your mouth, almost like they were trying to get us to open our mouths. Anyway, so I've booked in for a fake tan after the show today. I booked in yesterday for a fake tan because you guys always look more tanned than me in the shots. And so I don't want to look like the pasty person with jaundice this time. And so I went to the place yesterday and I was sitting in the car about to get out. I was like, oh shit, I've done something really bad here. And I undid my pants while I was sitting in the car and looked.
Starting point is 00:03:22 And I was wearing my tattie undies. And because, you know, when you go into a tan, you have to take, you have to de-rove, don't you take, and you have to go right down to your undies. And I did not want to be standing in there with a pair of old undies that have got holes in the gusset. How, oh, my husband of those, like the bull holes? Yeah, and they're my favourite pair. They're my favourite pair because he's so comfortable. How come there's always a hole in the, where the balls go? I don't know how my husband does it, and now you do it.
Starting point is 00:03:46 I think it's just wear and tear. Wow. Oh, wow. Why don't you, where the paper G-banger? I don't want to know. I've not got the body for a paper G-banger. That's what it's there for. I know, but I don't think the poor woman that's doing the tan
Starting point is 00:03:59 wants to see some pasty, chast-in-cated. If you could fit in the paper-ganger, you'll be fine. Oh, she's not going to see any of that. I haven't been naked, she'd struggle. You just go nude, and then you just move your piece. Yeah. Around. I just don't, I'm not comfortable of myself yet.
Starting point is 00:04:15 You know, give me a year, but I'm not comfortable with myself to put on a paper-ganger, let alone a normal fabric one. Yeah. So are you going back today? rebooked today and I'm wearing a nice pair. Oh wait, so you actually didn't go through with it just because you had crappy undies? I called it and I was like, sorry, my son's ill. That's a funny photo.
Starting point is 00:04:33 You told them your kid was sick, but actually, what happened? Yeah, what happened? So anyway, I'm going in today and I'm going to come back looking. Yeah, I just did a DIY home job with a mitt last night. Just do the one hour. What about the tan, though? Just a one hour, wash it off. There we go.
Starting point is 00:04:51 Yeah, we don't need to know. It's a gross man. One hour. They should talk about your life personally, but you don't have to go that deep. God hour solo dust. What a minute. Clint Megadam. Lesh cold.
Starting point is 00:05:05 Cold snap across the country. But sometimes when you hear people saying, oh, it's like minus one. Or it's three degrees. It's hard to comprehend how cold that is. Yeah. So Texas, or give us a call and let us know, 0800 the edge, like this one. It's so cold in Narawahia that I put on my jeans from my wardrobe,
Starting point is 00:05:21 and they instantly fell. wet. Oh, that must be freezing another while here. Wow. Yuck. That'd be a horrible thing. Someone texts through from Christchurch this morning saying it's so cold here that the sheep was spooning.
Starting point is 00:05:35 Yeah. Which that's saying something of the sheep are having to huddle together to keep warm. They've already got wool. Okay, hello, Josh. Morning, Josh. Hello, how are you? Whereabouts are you in the country this morning, Josh? Down in Canterbury.
Starting point is 00:05:49 Oh, Canterbury. So what is the temperature before you tell us? We got to work It was minus two Okay How cold is that What's actually happening So got to work
Starting point is 00:06:01 Went to go to toilet Wouldn't wash the hands No water Realize water pipes Plastic outside above ground Are frozen Wow That's that cold
Starting point is 00:06:10 I didn't know that could happen Yeah Wow So what do you guys have to like All right We'll leave the job Go get coffees and that We'll come back
Starting point is 00:06:17 I'll just carry out working And wait till they defrost point that the sun comes up. Then he's not a radio announcer, mate. He just continues work. He'll let frozen pipes stop them from doing their job. Boss will let you find something else for you. If the pipes are frozen here, Clint Wood would refuse to do with the radio show.
Starting point is 00:06:34 He's like, I need a coffee. Yeah. Hey, Shannon. Hello. Hey Shannon. Okay, so cold in Cambridge, that. That when I took the towel that I put on overnight on the windscreen, the windows were clear, but as soon as I drove through town,
Starting point is 00:06:51 I'm pretty sure the windscreen re-froze that I had to stop and wipe it all off, all the ice. You're just driving it re-freezes as you're driving. Eve, the fact that you have to put a towel across your windscreen overnight, that's, I've never heard of them. It might be a good hack. I thought I was avoiding it. Yeah, yeah, true. Can I just shout out as well, Shannon, you'll know this, the cafe in Cambridge called Paddock. It's the best cafe.
Starting point is 00:07:19 Yes. Do you go there as a local? It's amazing. Yeah. I pretty much go to most cafes in Cambridge. Yeah. But if you're ever passing through Cambridge, go to Paddock, they make the best coffin.
Starting point is 00:07:30 They've got the best cabinet food. Oh, yeah, I'm looking now at the photo is. I can already tell. Good one, Dan. You've got to go to suburban as well. Oh, suburban. All right. Okay, now we're just talking about cafes.
Starting point is 00:07:41 You can get us talking all day. You're going to get me in time going. Get out of the cold. Someone else saying it's so cold in the Waikato. They haven't been laid in three weeks because their partner refuses to get naked. Oh yeah. I suppose it was too cold to even get your clothes off. Yeah, freezing. God, it must be freezing.
Starting point is 00:07:58 Yeah, I'd have to be pretty cold. It'd be really hard to have sex in a sleeping bag. Have you done that? I didn't. I was just thinking, I don't think I've ever tried. Sleeper makes them normally come in doubles. You can get a two-person sleeping bag? Can you? But I'd still think even then it would be tricky. Yeah, I feel like my knee would cramp up. God, there's nothing sex here.
Starting point is 00:08:18 Sorry, Guy, I'm all cramping. I'm all, I'm all. I'm all locked. Hold on. Just hold that. Yeah, that's it. And just hold that for 30 seconds. And then we'll get back into it. Mm, yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:08:26 Amazing. Clint Megan Dan. Stinky Bird. Clint Megan Dan's Scandal. On Scandal this morning. Reviews have come out for Spider-Man brand new day. Very, very good so far, from what I've read about Tom Holland,
Starting point is 00:08:41 Zendaya and how the movie has taken a dark turn. Kind of like remember when Harry Potter kind of went dark. Yeah, and it became more adult, right? Yes. So that is what we're expecting from Spider-Diard. Madman this time around. It's going to be a lot darker. And I believe the themes are darker. And praise for Sadie Sink, who we will know from
Starting point is 00:08:58 Stranger Things. Apparently she was a standout in a new dark role for the movie. They said, I won't say anything more, but wow. Wow. Okay. Just hats. In Auckland. Clim Meg and Dan. First call of the day next. Give us about 0-800 the edge. So it's good to catch up with you and see why you're up this early. What's going on in your world this week?
Starting point is 00:09:17 And not long until we play Easy Money again after 7-8. this morning another chance to win a thousand bucks. Yeah, who was it at 8 o'clock? I want to say Tracy. Maybe I've got that. Was it Trace? Yeah, 8 o'clock yesterday. She got 8, was asked question 9,
Starting point is 00:09:32 just a couple of seconds off the pace. But a very, very good run. The closest we've come and I suppose maybe the last week. Yeah, definitely. So we need a winner. Clint, Megan Dan. First call of the day. First call of the day.
Starting point is 00:09:45 First call of the day this morning is Shiree. Good morning, Shiree. Hey, Shire. Hello. How are you? How do you say your last name? How do I say it? Boroboom as that.
Starting point is 00:09:57 Oh, that's a boaraboon. That's a cool last name. It's Boroboom. No, I see that you've said we should go to Twyzel and winter. I did. On my baby moon for my first kid and I loved it down there. It was so amazing. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:09 It gets so cold there. Yeah, have they still got there? Do you live in Twizel? No, no, no. I'm living in Christchurch, but yeah, I've definitely been there. They have this amazing emporium there, and it was just like everything you could ever imagine that you could buy. Do you guys
Starting point is 00:10:24 do you know what it is? It's like well known down there. Yeah, I think there's a few shops like that in and around that area. No, there's another great place around that area is Geraldine. I remember going there once, so Geraldine's beautiful. It's where the home of Barker's jam and Anath. Oh, Anath. And Athof. I love Anathof.
Starting point is 00:10:40 It's delicious. How cold is it where you are this morning, Shiree? It's only about 1.4 degrees, but on Monday it was like minus 4. So, in Christchurch. Freezing. How many people as well, Sheree, when you go to Twyzel, go there for baby moons? I don't know the baby moon destination.
Starting point is 00:10:57 It's the central baby moon capital of New Zealand. Like, I better people go to Fiji, like one last overseas chock. We're going to Twyzo! Yeah, the amount of accidental births that are happening there because they're going to Labor early. Shari, ignore them. And what do you do for a living? Do you get up early in the mornings out of work? I tried to go to the gym, but I was too lazy to.
Starting point is 00:11:20 get out of the bed at 3 o'clock this morning. Fair enough. But I'm a rubbish truck driver, so, yeah, I get up early to do that. Damn, 3 a.m. You say that's lazy to get out of bed at 3 a.m. for the gym. I think you're doing better than most if you even do that once. You'll have a cool job. You have one of my dream jobs, rubbish truck driver.
Starting point is 00:11:36 Are you the truck driver, the rubbish truck that does the claw that puts the wheelie bin into the back, or are you that one? Is that fun? It seems like a fun job to do. It's not so fun when the bins are icy and they get quite slippery. Oh, gosh, yes. What do you do if one does slip out? Like, do you just kind of drive on?
Starting point is 00:11:53 What do you do? Yeah, we're not allowed to climb up and get it, so it's got to stay in the truck, so, yeah. Oh, you mean when it slips out of the claw and falls into the truck? Wow. Yes, it happens quite often, so, yeah. Oh, that must piss you off if you're the person that's at that's your whaley bin. Because then what do you do with your rubbish that week?
Starting point is 00:12:09 Yeah, they like, 100 seconds. Yeah, they like, she'll take it again. I always wonder as well as Shari when people put their bins out on the berm, and then somebody goes and parks in front of it. No. You have to get out and go move the bins so that you can grab it with the claw? So annoying. Yes, that's what we've got to do.
Starting point is 00:12:25 We've got to get out and move the bins, unfortunately. Oh, nightmare. And do you still get little kids being like, oh my God, hi? I feel like there was a real thing about rubber-struck drivers and kids loving them. We do it. Oh, the kids absolutely love it. We always get them waving at us. And, yeah, that's the great part of the job.
Starting point is 00:12:40 Oh, that's awesome. Do you have to wrap the claw around some of them and just pick them up for a bit of fun and put them back down? Yeah, that's right. Yeah, yeah. That is my dream. I'd love to be picked up by the claw. Yeah. I'd just give it a good water blasting before. I'd be holding on to Dan.
Starting point is 00:12:56 Oh, I know that. Double prizes. No, our producer Carl's got an idea. I'm not actually going to be picked up by a claw, okay? Come on. Oh, Sheree, I need to have a quick chat to you after this voice break. I got a good idea. Tip me upside down and see if any rubbish comes out.
Starting point is 00:13:10 Thanks, Sheree. Have a bloody good morning. It's really lovely chatting to you. Yeah, you too, guys. Thank you, sir. See you, mate. Clint, Megan Dan. On the edge just hits.
Starting point is 00:13:21 Easy, maybe. Everything coming up, gold for Lewis Clearbert. I watched the replay of his 200-meter butterfly. He was like fifth, six, maybe even seventh for most of the race. And literally the last length, you're like, he's not even going to podium. And then it's like he hits another gear and they're almost like just swimming on a spot. And he just, it's unbelievable how much pace he gets in that final lap to win goal. Incredible. So now we currently make stand
Starting point is 00:13:50 8th equal with India in the standings which is really good for New Zealand. Eighth, and well inside the top 10, still leading by a huge margin is Australia with 31 golds. Isn't that incredible? Yeah, they're a little bigger than us though. They are, but 31. The next one second is England on 10
Starting point is 00:14:10 goals. So they're 20 goals ahead. Damn. Unbelievable. Maybe it also depends on the sports that they start the Commonwealth Games with. You know, like if you're in the pool and we're pretty good in a boat and all those other things, then you end up sort of cleaning up early. Yeah, that's an incredible effort. All right, uh, Brigita is hoping to win $1,000 with easy money.
Starting point is 00:14:28 Good morning. Morning, Regina. Okay, Meg is already giving you the letter M for money. You've got 30 seconds to give us 10 answers starting with M. And if you can, we'll put a thousand bucks into your account today. Amazing. Ready? So good.
Starting point is 00:14:45 Yes. Here we go, my darling, letter M. Give me something you'd put on toast. My mat. A place in New Zealand? Martin. A type of coffee. Mercatino.
Starting point is 00:15:00 A colour. Moves. A Disney character. Mini Mouse. Something you'd see in a bedroom. Pass. A nursery rhyme. Mary Mary Quackrentieri.
Starting point is 00:15:16 A band with more than three members. Brigita. We started well with five in a row on the truck. Unfortunately, something's seen in a bedroom, mattress, mirror or makeup, Possibly of ones. But that was the only one I think that help at the time, right, boys? Yeah. Yeah, you got through six passed on wine and we were getting to question eight. It's a lot of bad showing for you, Brigitte.
Starting point is 00:15:40 Yeah. Thanks for calling. Thank you. And that $1,000 lives to fight another hour back at 8 o'clock this morning. Yeah. All right. What did you do right after birth? Had a lot of fun with this over the last, well, maybe month?
Starting point is 00:15:51 Yeah, it's just, it just blows my mind every single time. As a reminder, you should be in bed. Yeah. Okay, just as an overall reminder. Because we kind of go and put a metal around the neck of any mum that's just got straight back into it. But what it also does is can make other mum feel really inferior. Five days in bed. That's what it says.
Starting point is 00:16:10 Five days in bed, then five days around the house and then you can start kind of... Yeah, but that's not really helpful for our radio. It's not Clint, so. No motorcross races like that lady that did that. Clint, Megan Dan. This can be a bit of a dicey one at times because although we are championing a woman doing incredible feats after giving birth, We don't want any mum that is actually just putting their feet up and relaxing because they've done an incredible thing to feel bad.
Starting point is 00:16:32 No. I think that the thing you should be doing, right, Meg, is putting your feet up. 100%. In fact, it is recommended five days in bed. You shouldn't even be leaving the bed if you can. God, I'd take that excuse to do anything. Like, I would be laying down. Farmer women, I reckon right now going, yeah, well, that'd be bloody nice, Meg.
Starting point is 00:16:52 But unfortunately, that's not how my life works. Yeah. Well, farming's, I feel like it's a good. give birth, it'd be sad if you can't even get five days. But yeah, if you can do that, other women, I mean, again, as you said, Clint, all bodies are different. Other women were like, hey, that was easy, that was my fourth one,
Starting point is 00:17:07 out they popped. See you later, got things to do. And I think farming maybe is different, because the farm doesn't sleep, whereas some of the calls we've had before, they could definitely avoided the stuff they were doing. I had my daughter and I went skateboarding maybe three days after I had her. You're crazy. I went
Starting point is 00:17:23 10 days over with my first daughter and I was in my last year of uni, I had her via emergency C-section and then two days later, I looked at my state finals. State finals. I know, right? So I had to have their mind switched on. That's what I find crazy because it's not even just
Starting point is 00:17:38 it's like the fact that you're going to be looking after a newborn and up every three hours. Because at that point you have to be up every three hours. It's not like whether they are a good sleeper, quotations or not, that you have to set your alarm to wake up to feed them. Yeah, it's crazy, eh?
Starting point is 00:17:56 are also a couple of my faves. After C-sections, no less, as well, which the recovery on that has got to be more than five days in bed. They cut through your abdominals, don't they? Yeah, they do. Cut through everything. So this was nine days after giving birth. What did you do?
Starting point is 00:18:11 Yeah, I jumped back on the netball court. So this was two weeks after you had not only a normal, a C-section. What did you do? Yeah, it was emergency C-section too. So I jumped on my motorbike and did a motocross race. Were there stitches out at this point? They can't have been, really.
Starting point is 00:18:27 No, they weren't. My midwife was at the track because her daughter was racing and she saw me and she was not impressed. That's like taking a sickie and then your boss seeing you out on a fishing boat. You know what I mean? Like you've gone motocross racing and your midwife is there. I can imagine motocross would be the worst thing to do because you're jumping on the bike, like jumping over huge jumps. That can't be good for stitches. That's always, if you think of the worst thing you could do after a CEC, that would probably be top three on Family Huge.
Starting point is 00:18:56 Definitely. All right, what were you doing right after birth that might shock most people when they find out? I wait under the edge or fire us the text 33443. What were you doing, Meg? After birth? Yeah. I was in bed.
Starting point is 00:19:12 Clint. Lazy. Nah, good for you. Oh yeah, we'll do a shut up, Clint. Compared to the motorcross, lay. Yeah, that's what you're supposed to be doing. Anyone is able to weigh in on 800 the edge. If you did something after.
Starting point is 00:19:26 birth almost immediately, I suppose, that shock a lot of people when they hear the story. And sometimes, I guess, you don't have a choice and you just have to do things. Like the person that's texted through, I work with a lady who gave birth to their fourth child who was 11 pounds on the Friday. And three ounces.
Starting point is 00:19:44 Yeah, 11 pounds, three ounces. And that was on Friday she gave birth. She was back at work on the Monday. She said her husband worked night shift, so she just had to look after the kid over the weekend and get back to it. No choice. It's so tough. That happens a lot.
Starting point is 00:19:56 In America, if you are from America, this will be very common to you because they don't have maternity leave. A lot of people just have to go back to work. They don't have anything, any sort of, like, that. Well, they don't have a government paid? No, nothing. They've no maternity leave in America, so a lot of people have to just go back to work. And also, it can cost you hundreds of thousands of dollars to have a baby because you had to go to hospital and had complications or just gave birth and it cost you at least 60K to have one. This one's shocking.
Starting point is 00:20:22 I shoveled a trailer load of coal three days after giving birth. What was that? 1950s? Yeah. Who's shoveling coal in 2020s? Shuffling coal three days after birth? I know. What are that?
Starting point is 00:20:33 We're going on a steam train. Yeah, what was going on there? Yeah, someone went to a breakers game, five days post-partum with their newborn. I mean, you've got to support your team. I saw somebody one time, and I was a little bit like, take that baby home. I was a bit like angry at them.
Starting point is 00:20:47 I didn't say anything, and I don't know if I would now or not, but they had a very, very, very newborn. You know when you can tell they're like right out of the womb? I'm like, that is a tiny baby at a backstreet boys concert. Oh, yeah, but... No, that's exactly it. And the baby was crying and obviously
Starting point is 00:21:05 wanted milk and was upset or wanted to go to sleep because it was so loud. And so they were like trying to hush them. I was like, take the baby home. I know that it's obviously the backstreet boys and you want to be there. And when are they back? And also start them young.
Starting point is 00:21:17 That baby was under a week. You're raising them to have terrible taste of music. That's just no shocking thing for me. I know. It was just because the baby was born. in its eyes. I was like, oh, that baby doesn't want to be here. Take it home. Take it home, guys. They're not that great.
Starting point is 00:21:31 Get somebody else look at. I don't know if you really need to go, but yeah, poor baby. Jackie from Toonga, morning, Jacks. Hi, how are you? Yeah, good. Now, this was after your seventh child, so you're quite accustomed to birthing. Wait, wait, seven and done? How many have you got? Seven. Yeah. Okay, so we got seven. Seven and done. What did you do right after birth?
Starting point is 00:21:53 Wow. Well, I don't do anything exciting. three or four days later, I started to get, and I thought I was just a superhero, you know, I can do everything, I'm a number seven, you know what I've got a massive infection, a uterus infection ended up in hospital because my body just wasn't healing because I was doing too much. Massive infection. That's crazy. Does that piss you off? Does that piss you off? Does that piss you off that that lady that did the motocross race got off scot-free and then you did a bit of cleaning and stuff and you got an uterus infection? I know. It's really outstanding, actually. When you have an impromptu home birth, how many towels do you rip through? How many just towels are destroyed? Well, my husband kept through the linen cupboard under me, so I was through duvet covers.
Starting point is 00:22:49 Oh, man. Yeah, he panicked. He was just like, hi, and I don't know. Not the duvets, the old town. And Jack would be yelling going on. Oh, my God. Don't use that. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:01 You should have been focusing or giving birth and you're like, no, obviously don't use the feather duvet that I just got. That's your only king size duvet. Tell me, Jackie, are those duvet covers back
Starting point is 00:23:12 in rotation now or they go straight to the bid? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, good on you, Chuck. Thanks, Jackie. Thanks, Jack. Clint, Megan, Dan.
Starting point is 00:23:23 Guys, I traveled, I worked it out 2,200 kilometres by plane, then 2,500 100 kilometers by sea to do something that I pay thousands of dollars to get away from doing every week.
Starting point is 00:23:37 I was like, I'm going to escape my life and I ended up doing the exact same thing I do when I'm at home every day. The only thing I can think of is that you did somebody else's laundry? No. Does he do other people's laundry? No, I'm saying he does a lot of laundry. He's the hoggrove.
Starting point is 00:23:51 Yeah, like, why would you spend? Laundry Mountain. So my wife and I went on a cruise with the kids for about nine days, and it stopped. The top Vanuatu for its first port of call. The problem is everything had to be done via the app. No one told us this. So by the time we worked out to get our tender to get off the big boat,
Starting point is 00:24:11 because the big boat can't go all the way into shore because it's too shallow. Oh, they can't like beach it on the beach. No. Oh, I didn't know that. You have to book a time to get on these little what they call tenders. Unfortunately for us, because we didn't book one, we were literally the last boat to get to shore when there are two and a half thousand people on board. Was there not enough lifeboats like the Titanic?
Starting point is 00:24:31 Yeah, it's like they're just sitting up two at a time. So what time are you leaving then? So most people are getting off the boat at like 8 in the morning, so they can spend the whole day in Vanuatu. We got off at like 12.30, like after midday. And you have to be back on the boat at about 3.30. Oh, yeah, not much time. So we land and straight away, we get nabbed by some guy who's like,
Starting point is 00:24:48 hey, this is my brother and he's going to take you around in the van. And he's going to be your private driver and take you wherever you want. I was like, okay. And he's throwing out some numbers. and I'm trying to do the equivalent of New Zealand dollars. I'm like, oh, that seems expensive. That's about 300 bucks New Zealand for a personal drive for the day. I'm like, ah, they don't earn a lot, don't worry about, let's go.
Starting point is 00:25:07 Let's just get going. Like, we've finally got off this boat after five days. Anyway, my wife's pretty savvy. She's like, we pay too much. She's sitting in the back and I don't worry about it. She's GPSing where this waterfall is that we're supposed to go to. And she goes, we're going in the wrong direction. Uh-oh.
Starting point is 00:25:22 And I was like, what do you mean? She goes, no, no, no, we're going literally in the opposite direction to where we're supposed to be going right now. now I don't like this. Eventually we stop and I hear a whole lot of screaming kids in a school bell and I go hey bro, what are we doing?
Starting point is 00:25:38 And he goes, I just have to do school pickup. So our private driver took us to a school where we waited outside for 20 minutes while seven or eight kids got on. Turns out he's the school bus driver guy.
Starting point is 00:25:54 And my kids really loved being at least in the van with all the other kids the language barrier, they couldn't understand a word each other was saying. But then we proceeded to drive around the village and drop off every single kid at their house. But then you've got to get back on the boat at 3 and it's
Starting point is 00:26:09 like school day. But you could say you immerse yourself in the culture. Yeah, I guess, and then he drove us to the waterfall. We had about 20 minutes to play in the water and then that turned out you had to someone owns the land so you have to pay so you pay $100 to get in the lagoon
Starting point is 00:26:25 and then we went to walk up to see the waterfall but there's somebody else standing halfway and he charges you another $100 to go and actually see the waterfall. So by then we were like, nah, we're just, we're going back. We're going to run out of time. They're going on the beach. They saw the Randalls coming, eh? Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:39 They're rubbing their hands together. Our private driver drove us 14 minutes each way. And I ran out of money, so I had to go and get some more money out. And it cost us $400 New Zealand to swim in this little rocky pool. You know the one you commented on Instagram, Meg? Yeah. Look lovely. Oh, I've been in that one.
Starting point is 00:26:55 On Instagram, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. A stress, right. $400 later after we did school drop-off for all the Vanuatu kids. Wow. And sometimes you just find yourself on holiday because you haven't organised the entire itinerary or just generally in life and you go,
Starting point is 00:27:10 how did I get here? What moves that I make to get to the situation? I've got a story I'll tell you next of when I was interviewed by police in Vegas for assaulting a man with a dice. That was a moment where I was like, I don't know how I got to this moment. If you've got a story I went under the edge,
Starting point is 00:27:27 we'd love to hear from you need. We're asking, how did I get here? If you've got one of those moments, I was on holiday and was meant to be in Vanuatu heading to some waterfall and then I ended up getting a private driver who happened to forget to mention that he actually had to do school pickup for the village. And so we spend at least an hour and a half
Starting point is 00:27:45 at the school and then dropping all the kids off at their houses. What a funny thing to forget, hey? Yeah. So you were essentially on a school bus, not a private driver. Yeah, and my wife was looking at me because I was like, don't worry about Van Nuwatu. I've already sorted it all. I've got it taken care of.
Starting point is 00:28:00 She was not happy. Yeah. Well, we've got Sarah on the line from Tauranga. This is to do with your stepmother. Yes. Okay, what happened? So she got arrested in Thailand for vaping. Vaping.
Starting point is 00:28:15 Is it illegal there? I didn't know. And they got her down to like their jail, like they obviously like their little jail place. And they tried to say, you know, you give us this much money. or you're going to the big jail. And she goes, okay, well, let's go to the big jail.
Starting point is 00:28:30 And they kind of look to get stumped. And then they, so instead of her bartering to get out, they were bartering with her to not put her in the big jail. Because maybe they realized they didn't have the grounds to do it. Although, I don't know what the police is. She called their bluff in Thailand? Who is the stepmother of yours? I want to meet her.
Starting point is 00:28:45 What a bullsy woman. Oh, she's an absolute legend. Yeah. So did she get out of it, obviously. She's all well and good now? Yeah, she got out of it. And then my dad had to remind her to not put the vape back in her. mouth as soon as she got out.
Starting point is 00:28:58 Oh, God. Oh, I love that woman. Did she have to pay any money in the end? I think she paid a very small amount of money, but certainly not what they were wanting. Sarah, can I just know her name so that whenever I need to be brave, I can say, what would she do? Jude. What would Jude do? Should she go up and she'd be like, I dare you to take me to prison.
Starting point is 00:29:19 Go on. What a woman. Good on her. Let's hear it for Jude. It's a nice way to have the storyings. If we're like, what's you doing now? Oh, she's rotting in the big jail. Yeah, she died in jail.
Starting point is 00:29:29 I always got arrested in America. I went to a work trip to Vegas, and we're playing a game called craps in a Vegas hotel where you have to roll the dice and you have to throw it across the table to the other side of the table. And I was getting it wrong. And so the man that was running the table,
Starting point is 00:29:45 I'm like so uncool-naided. Because you've got to hit the back end. And I was like throwing them and they're going everywhere. So he was like, you need to throw them harder or I'm going to have to kick you off the table. Wait, could you not throw two dice six feet? No, because they were going the wrong way.
Starting point is 00:29:57 That's how uncoordinated I am. Use your strong. So embarrassing. So anyway, I was like really nervous and it came around to my turn again and I started shaking the dice. I threw them. One dice hit the back wall perfectly. The other one went straight into the face of this huge, musley,
Starting point is 00:30:14 like black dude at the other end of the thing. And he goes, hits him right in the nose here. And he goes, who throws a dice at another man's face? Like that. And I'm like, oh my God. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm like, I'm completely uncoordinated. That was completely uncoordinated. I'm from New Zealand.
Starting point is 00:30:30 I just didn't know how to play. He's like, that's assault. He's assaulted me. His face starts bleeding. Like, you wouldn't read about it. He's bleeding from the face. Police come over. He's saying I assaulted him with the dice.
Starting point is 00:30:43 I'm going, I'm so sorry. I would have antagonized him. Kick his ass, C-Bass. And then I went over to him. I was like, you could just take my winning. I just wanted. And he's like, I don't need your money. I'm a pro baller.
Starting point is 00:30:55 And it turns. how he played for the Steelers, like this big American team. NFL team. NFL team and he had security with him, like his own security. He was rich. The police were interviewing me, they asked my passport. You would have thought like an NFL player wouldn't be such a cry baby with a dice hitting him in the phone?
Starting point is 00:31:09 I started crying. It was like, I was like 27 at this point. I was crying. I'm going to say you were 17, but 27. No, I was 20. I was working with John and Ben at the time. They were there. They were trying to talk.
Starting point is 00:31:23 They were like, he's really uncoordinated. Like, they were trying to help. me, I was crying. And then it turns out I had to explain to the police that I was just really uncoordinated and they started laughing. Like the guy then dropped charges and he was like, like, now I know just because you're crying that it wasn't a thing. And so then we ended up shaking hands.
Starting point is 00:31:39 You still look for that sad little 27 year old man. There's another phone or extension when you're crying get you out of trouble. Yeah. They photocopy my passport and said that they were going to have to look into letting me back into the country if we wanted to come back. Turns out I'm fine. But man, man, it was a scary hour of my life. I can't believe you cry.
Starting point is 00:31:54 He was bleeding. Like I made a guy that plays for the steelers bleed from the nose, from a dice. So it turns out you did learn how to throw it hard. Yeah, good on you. Crazy story. That's why I'm now known as vanilla dice. No. I tried to get that going, but it never worked.
Starting point is 00:32:12 No, I didn't do that. No, it wasn't good one. Clint Megan Dan. We've spoken about this ad verbatim. That's how I say it, Dan? At nauseam. Nauseum. Verbatim is like word for word.
Starting point is 00:32:22 She gave it a patch? Yeah. And that's all right. We like that you try stuff. I mean, it was word for word. I guess she's not wrong. But I think in a way it's not right. And nauseam.
Starting point is 00:32:31 Yeah. About how Dan has wanted to be seen as somebody his old school would be proud of. And they've forgotten him time and time and time again. Time again. And fair enough, there's more famous people. No, yeah, the problem is, Dan, had you gone to any other school, you might have been remembered. But Meg ended up reading out a list of people that went to your school. And we were shocked at the level.
Starting point is 00:32:56 Oh, I guess the bar and how high it is because of some of the greatest Kiwis to come out of how at college. Amelia Walmsie, current silver firm. Right. You're an asshole if you don't believe. No, I've heard of her. Yeah, now you say it. Chris Wollxton, current Prime Minister. He went to Dan's high school?
Starting point is 00:33:14 Yeah, he went to Dan's high school. He's number three on the list and he runs the country. Don't like him. Kidamine, winner of RuPaul's Drake Race Down Under? Really? Really? I did not know that. Incredible, incredible list.
Starting point is 00:33:26 Texed. Woods, two degrees founder, which is incredible. Founded two degrees? Yes. My goodness, okay. Oh my, you went to the same school as these people. There's no way they're going to remember you. Stop the list. How many are left?
Starting point is 00:33:38 One more is left. Your shoe. Number one, above Christopher Lange. Number one. Dan Williamson, Olympic old meddlest. Dan Williamson. Dan, that is more famous than the Olympians and the silver Honestly, God, thought she was going to say, Webby.
Starting point is 00:34:05 Who's what's his name? Dan Williamson. I genuinely, text her if you've heard of him. Honestly, his poor sister, she's always every day. I have since now, and he's a big deal. Yeah. And shout out to, yeah, yeah, Dan Williamson's sister who's probably listening. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:22 And always texts us up. We love your brother. Yeah, yeah. Now, there has been a bit of a development, guys. I've had a met. message from Howitt College, my beautiful college that I went to. It was months ago that we talked about that. Hi, Dan, it reads.
Starting point is 00:34:41 We heard your piece the other week about attending Howitt College. We definitely remember you. They've said that quite, like, almost too much. Yeah, yeah. Oh, yes, we definitely remember you. In fact, we even threw this image up of a giant digital screen outside the front of the school that day, and it's a big billboard saying,
Starting point is 00:35:00 how could we not remember Dan Webby our most famous alumni I've got the photo here so that went up being outside the whole school on a digital billboard Oh my God And I've said as one of our favorite Former Thespians
Starting point is 00:35:16 We'd like to invite you to the current High School Musical at Chon Which I've only just seen this So I can't unfortunately go But I'd love to have gone But yeah Isn't that a lovely thing To be remembered by your school
Starting point is 00:35:27 And that's from the official I still would know Instagram page. In fact, I think my school does remember me and has chosen. They've washed their hands of me. You also, to be fair, remember we went through the alumni from your school in Lower Heart, and there are a lot of, like, sporting stars. No, there's not really clean.
Starting point is 00:35:45 Honestly, it is a dialist, and they remember me, and they go, we're trying to block it on our... Some of the things you've said on radio are, if I was a school. It's a Catholic Girl Girl School. Maybe that's where we should go with this then, because a lot of schools will have an alumni of like students of note, they've gone on to do great things. But sometimes you can be remembered
Starting point is 00:36:05 for doing quite a sinister thing. Sinistering. I don't think of sinister. All they did, they had like a makeup removal packet in the school office with my name on it because every day I came to school that were like Megan, go take it off.
Starting point is 00:36:20 You know what I mean? This is a sinister review. Sometimes you're remembered for being the troublesome child or you have a friend in school and you go, you know what? Everyone remembers Jared. But not for the reasons. If your school had a Hall of Shame, would you or your mate feature?
Starting point is 00:36:34 Producer, I was just saying if you want to see that image of Dan's Billboard, Instagram to 3343 for the bounce back. I don't think anybody needs to see that. Great. Yeah, okay, so if you have gone down in the history books for the wrong reasons and would be on your school's
Starting point is 00:36:50 Hall of Shame alumni, what'd you do? The Clint Meg and Dan podcast. A lot of people obviously would like, I think, to be part of their high school alumni. Notable students have gone on and done incredible things. Dan is one of those students after Halit College reached out to him saying, Hey Dan, we definitely remember you, buddy,
Starting point is 00:37:08 after we've talked at nauseam about the fact that Dan was missed out. I mean, there was much more famous people that went to Howard College. It's quite a successful school. Christopher Luxon, as there was there. A person who started sparks, quite a big company. He might have heard of it. Two degrees. We would like to know, though, if we flip this, why are you notorious?
Starting point is 00:37:28 Well, they wouldn't want to be proud to say that you. Yeah, if their school had a hall of shameless, would you or your mate be on it for something that you did that everyone still remembers to this day? Yeah, there'll be people that, you know, burnt pictures into the field. Oh, speaking of, well, I guess burning.
Starting point is 00:37:45 This one said, I tried to microwave a pie and food tech, but it had the foil on it still, set off the fire alarm, evacuated 1,200 students, all the fire trucks showed up, and they tried to get mum to pay the call-out fee. They said, For the rest of the year, they kept saying the teachers were saying,
Starting point is 00:38:02 don't pull it, Josh. Don't pull it. You don't want to be that person, eh, where you get something named after you. Yeah. Yeah, that is shocking. Somebody else's mate will always be remembered and in the Hall of Shame for sleeping with one of the PE teachers in high school. Hopefully that sort of stuff doesn't happen as much as it used to.
Starting point is 00:38:20 You'd be surprised, I think. It's sad. I remember I had a friend who, you know, how you get those hoodies made at the end of the year? You can have anything written on it. Usually he'd get your name on it or something like that. He had written on the back of it thinking it was funny to have breastfeeding put on it. Thinking that he's like, you know, this guy, like he's into boobies and stuff.
Starting point is 00:38:45 It just came across like he was still breastfeeding with his mom. And it was the world. And he had to work with that hoodie for the rest of the year. Because you couldn't get another one. So he was walking around with breastfeeding on his back for the whole. Oh, yeah. Breastfeeding at hotmail.com. Yeah, not a G at the end, it was breastfeeding.
Starting point is 00:39:03 Oh, yeah, with your apostrophe. Yeah, it's like, mate, you're like 18. You should stop. This is such a Kyle thing to do. Kyle brought a bottle of Christoph to school and had the entire classroom drunk after lunch. Oh, Christoph's, yeah, don't do that. Do you remember that? Christopher was like 12 bucks for a bottle,
Starting point is 00:39:20 like a 40-ounce bottle. Oh, maybe in your day, clamped it. It was $20 when I was buying it. I was back in the olden days. Producer Brady. Yeah, I actually had a story of a mate at school who bought a whole bottle of Jack Daniels to school and he blacked out in the woodroom. The woodroom?
Starting point is 00:39:38 Yeah, man, these kids. Someone else drew a penis on the side of the van, the school van. They got expelled for it. You expelled? Geez, you'd have to be going to... Maybe it's a private school. Oh, no, he just had to wash the PE teachers van. Oh, this is not expelled.
Starting point is 00:39:54 You've expelled or you wash it? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'd wash the van as well. Yeah. A Hazel, Our Hand, is going to be joining us on the show in just a few minutes. She'd be the good alumni, I imagine. Yeah, actually, now that she's just won a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games, I imagine if she's not on her school alumni list, that we put in her there.
Starting point is 00:40:12 The Clint Meg and Dan podcast. Your favourite game on the edge just hits. Easy money. Three past eight, here we go. We've got the cash ready to be transferred into your bank account. You just got to give us 10 answers, starting with the lead me, gives you inside 30 seconds. No repeated answers. Those are your rules. Bailey's plan this morning. Hey Bailey. How's fine, and hey?
Starting point is 00:40:36 It's got nice and sunny up here. Oh, nice. Stop bragging about it. Other parts of the country are freezing. Yeah, they reckon... We got frosts, so it's a bit cold. Oh, yeah. There are builders in Christchurch that are waiting for the pipes to unfreeze so they can get on with the job this morning. Shocking.
Starting point is 00:40:50 Oh, that's diabolical. Okay, your letter this morning, Bailey, is for a rabbit. Rabbit, okay. You can do this, Bailey. All right, your time will start at the end of Meg asking you your first question. We need 10 answers. Good luck. Give me an ice cream flavour. Rainbow.
Starting point is 00:41:10 Italian food. Risotto. Something you'd pay for. Rings. An outdoor activity. Running. An actress. Ryan Reynolds.
Starting point is 00:41:26 An adjective. A little fast. A sporting equipment. I think we're done, unfortunately. Last time I checked, Ryan Reynolds was a man. Yeah, I did divide as an actor. Actress, not an actor. Oh, actress.
Starting point is 00:41:41 Yeah, and I was like, I think we just, Yeah, there's no need to carry on. She was doing so well, more. I know. Thanks. Yeah, sorry, Mac. It's really well, Baylor. Sad Meg, if you just went, if you just went actor, though,
Starting point is 00:41:53 then you can get both. Isn't that sexist? No, it is. How do we know that he's actually in it? Ah, okay. Well, Bailey, that's a deeper question. We'd have to ask him. wouldn't we?
Starting point is 00:42:03 Thanks, thanks, babe. Yeah, how'd you like the pace? It needed to get quicker towards the end, I think. Oh, I think she was doing good. I thought she was great. It wasn't bad, yeah, wasn't bad. All right, back again. It's seven and eight tomorrow morning if you think you can get it done.
Starting point is 00:42:16 Hazel, our hand, bronze medalist, but a really, a friend of the show. Yeah, she's been a friend of the show before she was big and famous and a medal winner. Yeah, so that's why we get easy access to her and getting her on the phone next. Clint, Megan, Dan. Oh my gosh. Friend of the show, Hazel Our Hand, won her first medal at the Commonwealth Games. I know that this is my medal, but it's not just my medal. You know, it's their medal too. They put my mum, my dad, my sisters, they put lots and lots of hours into this. Didn't just do it for me, for them.
Starting point is 00:42:48 So proud of her. And I think we've got her on. Oh, here she is. Hey, be cool, be cool, be cool, we've got a Commonwealth Games medalist on the phone. How's it here, she's here, she's there. How's it going? Bloody good. My coach gave me the day off swimming today, and he told me not to come in this morning. so I had a lovely sleep in, slept until like 11. I could have kept sleeping, but I figured I should wake up, so. Yeah, yeah, you must be so proud.
Starting point is 00:43:09 Is it the outcome that you were looking for? Yes and no. Obviously I'm stoked to have walked away with a bronze medal in that 50 fly. I definitely wanted the gold, but like who doesn't want the gold, right? We loved your speech when you were just out of your sisters, and I think a lot of the time we hear like parents get thanked for like getting out, taking to coaching, paying for, you know, whatever, you need, but I was really interested in
Starting point is 00:43:33 why you think your sisters, what have they done that's helped your career? Because Hazel's probably the favourite, so she's like, oh, I've got to shout them out. Well, I mean, my older sister, she swam until she was 15. She got her restricted license, and my parents applied
Starting point is 00:43:50 for an exemption for her to drive me and only me to and from training, because they were done with the early mornings and they were like, get your license. Yeah, they were like, you're taking her. Hazel, last time we spoke to you, where you're at the Olympics, and I think we spoke to you about
Starting point is 00:44:05 the sleeping situation. There was a story about condoms, all that stuff. Remember that? What's the situation do you know at this Commonwealth Games? Is it a similar thing? Because the Olympians had about 15 condoms per athlete. The first time that Clint pops up with the interview
Starting point is 00:44:21 is that right. What's the condom to athlete ratio at the Com Games? I don't think it's quite the same here. The Olympics are a much largest Gail, I haven't heard or received any fondon or any campaigns. I mean, not that I need them right now. I'm not really.
Starting point is 00:44:42 And I have a roommate, so. Oh, yeah, that would be awkward. When you're in the pool in the middle of a race, when do you know you've got it? Like, throughout the entire race, do you know your first? Do you know you're sitting in third or fifth and you've got to step it up? Or is it literally until you touch the blocks and turn around and check the times? For me, I have no idea. like butterfly especially my 50 butterfly i don't even breathe like i'm just looking at the bottom
Starting point is 00:45:05 of the pool the whole way down are you being seriously you literally don't breathe the entire length of the pool yeah because that probably comes um nicely to um a comment that was made on the show about how i hold currently the record for the longest breath hold and most amount of lengths of my pool and we challenged you to come around to beat it because no one ever has and um i don't know you haven't shown up and I don't know whether that's because you're scared or because you're busy. So that's a lie, thank you. I was very
Starting point is 00:45:37 happy to accept that challenge and you never set a date. You never extended the address or the classic Clint. I am very ready to hand you your ass off on the Bronx matter. Okay, well, the pool's very cold at the moment so I don't know. Do you want me to wait or? All I'm
Starting point is 00:45:53 hearing is that you're scared. Yeah, I think so too. All right, here's what I propose. As soon as you get back to New Zealand off the plane, go straight to Clitzhouse from Auckland Airport and do the competition. Hazel, honestly, it's all he talks. If your name gets brought up, he's like, oh, she's too scared to face me in the...
Starting point is 00:46:09 I'm so really, man. Just extend me the animal. I will be there. If you can beat my record, I will get a little plaque engraved with your name on it, with your record, and I'll put it somewhere in the backyard
Starting point is 00:46:22 so everyone knows you now hold the record. I'm not beaten by Bronze Commonwealth Games medalist, Hazel, our head. Hashton, she is better than me. Hey, Hazel, thanks so much for catching up with us. All the best sound, because I know you've got competitions again starting like three weeks, so no rest for the wicket. Yeah, that's one.
Starting point is 00:46:39 Thank you so much, team. Bye. We're proud of you. I love you. Bye. Congratulations. Clint Meggin Dan. Leshco.
Starting point is 00:46:45 Okay. You might have seen this on the internet around Chris Brown, Usher are doing concerts around America, and they bring women onto stage where they give them lap dancers. That's part of the show. and a lot of the time it's like I guess it's like being the the girl chosen for Justin Bieber's concert back in the day
Starting point is 00:47:04 like it's like the honour to be chosen One less lonely girl version Absolutely but this is much more sexual You get a lap dance Yeah I was watching it because is there a beard on stage And he's shirtless and I was like wow And some women really get into it To the point that you're like I might look away
Starting point is 00:47:19 The thing that took me is How sweaty Usher is Like that would be I'll be like Oh God you're all sweaty yuck So a video has gone viral of a woman gone up on stage and she's got it perfectly straight back and as he leans in to kind of lean into her neck and kind of
Starting point is 00:47:34 get all smoochy onto the beard she's going like she's stiff as a board she's like looking straight ahead leaning back and he gets aggravated and says and gets off her and says I don't think she wants to be here to get her off stage because she's not responding how he would like her to respond and I guess he's feeling rejected in front of
Starting point is 00:47:50 thousands of people yeah which I mean that's the risky run I guess if you're going to do that yeah yeah she recently spoke with TMZ I've got that bit from... Oh, thank you, Clint. I've got the bit from Usha where he turns to the crowd because he realizes she ain't liking it. I don't think she want to be on the stage.
Starting point is 00:48:09 Yeah, and he's like, get it off, get off. Yeah, so she spoke to TMZ, and this is what she said. I was approached first and upgraded to VIP. They didn't tell you they were going to pull you on stage? They told me that it was a possibility of me going on stage, but they didn't confirm that until it was closer to time. Of course, you're getting to go up on stage. Why would I decline that?
Starting point is 00:48:29 Me solely, I went to the concert for Chris Brown. So, of course, it would have been a different reaction with Chris Brown. It wouldn't have been the stiffness or whatever the internet is portraying. I think it says everything about her kind of in a way that she went for him. Anyway, she went on to say, in her own post saying, first off, nobody has declined to go on stage. I looked good as if, though. You thought I wasn't going to let thousands of people see me? Let people see me.
Starting point is 00:48:58 Imagine having that confidence. to be put on stage. Yeah, for people to see her and experience her. She said on the big screen where you bitches will never be, my mum and I have floor seats the team approached us. Pretty privileges something you beep
Starting point is 00:49:13 will never know about. Oh, she sounds like a bee. They don't say who you're going up there for. So she is basically saying it's because I'm pretty, I got taken on stage, it's not my fault. That I didn't want, I don't like Usher. It's not my fault. felt that they chose me because I'm so attractive. I wasn't Tim Arsha, but now I am
Starting point is 00:49:33 because if you're him and it's your bit on the stage, you're wanting the person to be into it, right? And now that she's like cowering away, it makes you look creepy. Absolutely, it does. It does. And when she wanted to be there, she's admitted she wanted to be there. She wanted to be on stage, exactly. So I think where they went wrong is, you know, normally security getting her up
Starting point is 00:49:53 on stage, you would sit there and go, oh, no thank you, no thank you, not for me, because you're not into him, right? But the fact that she's like, you think, I wasn't going to let thousands of people see how attractive I am. Wow! And a lot of people will speak confidently on pretty privilege. That's an interesting conversation.
Starting point is 00:50:09 Pretty privilege is a real thing. You guys would be because you're both very, very attractive people. You must have to be, you know, get pretty privilege a lot. Let's just say that to Clint, I think. I don't think I'm experienced. Is it a real thing? Is anyone ever being victim of pretty privilege? Oh, here he goes.
Starting point is 00:50:29 Where you realize, like, maybe you're being let off a speeding ticket because the officer was like, wow, hey, you know what, ma'am, you'll be fine. And you get let off because you're like, good looking. That would be a good thing. What about a victim of it in the way that you're not taken seriously at work or something? It's funny you say work because apparently I saw a stat the other day that said if you're good looking or attractive, you have 60% more chance of getting a job over someone that's a bit fugly. Are there any downsides?
Starting point is 00:50:55 So you get the job but then no one listens to you? Yeah, yeah, yeah. downsides to being pretty, you know? Pretty privileged. She said it's not my fault. Everyone hates on me now, but I'm just so attracted. No one's going to admit it, though, are they? I don't know. It's going to be a hard one. We can disguise your voice.
Starting point is 00:51:09 We fire us a text, 3343. If you're like, yeah, I'm genuinely a 10, and it's not all it's cracked up to me. We would love to know. We'd love to experience it. Pretty privileged. Have you been a victim of it or have you benefited from it? Yeah, I know. I thought we were talking about well, we might have made it a bit messy, but we want to know the ins announced.
Starting point is 00:51:27 we've not experienced it, but this woman has who got taken up onto stage with Usher, was kind of belittled for not being into it, but she said it's not my fault that I got picked and I'm so attractive. And also like I was going to turn down the opportunity to go on stage and let thousands of people see me and see what happens. And I don't think Usher would be accustomed to being turned down for that sort of stuff. He would not be used to that. Somebody who says...
Starting point is 00:51:52 Also, she is beautiful. Like we can't sit here and say that she's not. No, she is. She's unruly pretty. Somebody who's admitted to being or benefiting from pretty privilege says, I often get complimented for just doing very ordinary things that everyone else does. Well, that's incredible that you can at least see that. I think that's the thing that pisses the air goes off at all, like the people that don't get it.
Starting point is 00:52:16 I think it's when people that are really attractive don't realize the privileges that they get. And if you do, then whatever. Oh my God, what about this one's just coming? I'm a 10, I'm not shy to say it, and I never queue for a club or a bar. I just go straight to the front and I get lead in every time. I'm with the opposite of that. I'd always be the one if I was in my friend's group. I'd be the one that would get bounced because I didn't have the right shoes on or anything.
Starting point is 00:52:40 But everybody else had the same shoes as me. They may as well have gone off you go. We've got some fake names and some voice disguises, but I do want to read this text first saying, I work in the building industry as a female who is 26 and not bad on the eye, but that feels awkward to say. It's okay. And a few weeks ago, I got blamed for some. something that wasn't my fault.
Starting point is 00:52:58 Oh, do we have, oh, okay, great, fantastic. Okay, I'll go to, yeah, yeah, okay, we're going to go first to fake name, Jade. Good morning. Good morning. Good morning, Jade. So this is, I read out most of it. So you got blamed for something that wasn't your fault. Yes, so I work in the building industry.
Starting point is 00:53:18 I sell windows and doors. And a few weeks ago, we had a mishap on site, and I had every, everything I'm writing from the builder about what it needed to be and what needed to be done. And I got the call on the day that they were wrong. And we got everything sorted. I really liked these guys. It felt really comfortable to go on site and work with them. And I had heard from one of my boys who worked in the factory that the builder had said to him,
Starting point is 00:53:45 well, said to him, she's lucky. She's so hot. Otherwise, I'd be so mad. Oh, my goodness me. How does that make you feel? Is that like a good thing or is that a frustrating thing? it's a frustrating thing I'm just trying to do my job and actually
Starting point is 00:53:59 you know there's not a lot of women in the building industry at the moment so to be a woman in there you want to do your job and do it well and for the most part you get a lot of clients who like you and love working with you but then you always get those few builders who just ruin the moment and ruin the vibe and maybe that's why there's not a lot of women in the industry
Starting point is 00:54:17 because that stuff is happening so often Jade yeah exactly exactly and it's not the first time that it's happened but a lot of the time you kind of just brush past it and move on. Well, good on you for keeping going. Thank you, Jade. That's me cool, Jade. A text before we get into the last quote phone call as well.
Starting point is 00:54:33 It's so real. I've gone to a restaurant. The manager has handed me a voucher to come back another time. I've been pulled over with no registration, no warrant and speeding. The cop already had his ticket book out. As soon as he spoke to me, the ticket book slowly started making its way back into the pocket. Somebody else said their mortgage broker found them attractive and got them a great cash back because of it.
Starting point is 00:54:52 Another one says you'd be shocked how many times I've been. upgraded to business class in my life. Wow, and it does pay to be hot. Becker is going to be on voice disguiser. Hi, Becker. Good morning, Becket. Hello. Hello.
Starting point is 00:55:06 Okay, tell us. Okay, although you don't sound hot with the voice disguiser. Pretty privilege, good or bad. How have you experienced it? Obviously, it comes with lots of privileges, and no one can deny that. Yeah. On the other hand, you get a lot of unwanted attention. so working in the public facing
Starting point is 00:55:26 sector and in hospitality you get a lot of sexualized comments towards you wondering how people following you around pressuring if your number leaving places can feel really unsafe yeah I imagine so I'm just going to repeat some in that stuff because the voice disguised you a bit but you work in hospitality
Starting point is 00:55:48 and with that you get a lot of unwanted attention people following you around unwanted hands, unwanted eyes, you're just trying to do your job and they think that it's always an opportunity, I guess, to flirt with you, we'll get with you. Yeah, that's rough, eh? And that's the stuff you don't think about. Everybody's like, oh, I want to be hot. Must be so good. But that is, yeah, that's one of those things that can be creepy. Maybe we're lucky that we're not.
Starting point is 00:56:10 Oh, piss off, you're hot. Stop trying to lump yourself in with Megan eyes. You're unrelated to this one. Don't love Megan with you then. Oh, okay. There's just been too much lumping. Want to hear more of Clint, Megan Dan, but completely unfiltered.
