This is a podcast from Rover.
If this podcast was a person, it would be banned from family gatherings.
Oh, piss off, Uncle John.
This is the Clint Meg and Dan podcast.
If we call it, baby!
Today's the day, baby!
Look at that.
Somebody's been calling since 5.30, which is weird, because we don't start until 6.
Maybe you've got it.
The early bird gets the worm.
I've always said that, and if you're in with a grin, you're in.
It's about a thousand bucks worth of tickets every time you get on the air,
because it's a double pass with four days camping.
So they're about $490 per person.
It's an amazing every caller wins.
And we've got like a plethora to give away.
You put an O into plethora.
Plathora.
We haven't used that word in a while,
probably since last every call a ones.
How much is it until you call it a plethora?
Well, I'm still getting there, dad.
Is it like over fine?
Okay, have a guess.
How many?
Google it.
How many is a plethora?
Okay, plethora, plethora.
It's like a few, I think, is three.
Several is seven.
Go on. What's your guess?
I think a minimum plethora would be five.
No, plethora would be like 20 plus.
Depends what you're talking about though.
Like if I said I saw a plethora of whales, I'd say five's probably pretty good.
Plethora of ducks, I want to be like 50, 60 ducks.
So annoying. It's like context.
Ten emails might fell a lot if you're busy, but ten grains of sand isn't.
Oh, pass off.
That's what we just said.
Yeah.
It's at least 20, I would say, a plethora.
Quite a lot of tickets.
Clip Meg and Dan
Hold on, it may happen for you
You and a mate for free with camping, four days, all sorted
Yeah, I think not a lot of people know this
But it's a double pass
Yeah, that's epic, right?
Yeah, so you just one of your mates needs to get through,
you or them and get sorted, it is full on in here
It is like we're raving.
Yeah, we've got lighting, there's like a lighting rig
and the lights move around.
We've never had this before.
It's quite noisy too.
Hopefully you can't hear them on here.
Yeah, can you turn the back and track?
That's just lights the whole time.
But the good thing is Meg loves
flashing lights in her eyes
and she doesn't get...
What is the word?
Autistic?
Yeah.
Epileptic.
No?
We're trying to annoyed.
Yeah, maybe.
Because you don't like loud noises, bright lights.
I'm stimulated.
Yeah.
No one has epilepsy, by the way, do they?
No, no.
You always tick no or say no
if you're ever going to a place at Disneyland
or anywhere that has fun rides.
You know, like loud noises.
and bright lights.
Honestly, I need to get checked.
That is just diabolical.
Right, should we give a double pass away?
Yes.
Yeah.
Who's going to be the first one?
Do you think this one?
Let's have a look.
What about?
Should we go to Lucy?
Morning loose?
Oh my God.
Lucy!
Woo!
First winner this morning, baby.
No way.
You can just relax now.
You can go back to bed.
I'm guessing you've got a burly.
I can't relax my heart of like founding.
Wow.
You were going to rhythm and vines.
This year the last one at White Hacker Estate and Gispen.
No, baby.
Oh my God.
Who's going with you, Luce?
Oh, Georgia.
100%.
Okay, it was Georgia.
I hope bloody Georgia plays her cards, right?
You guys don't have a falling out between now and December.
Oh, God, I hope not.
Is Georgia even trying to call through?
She left it to you.
Are you the type A friend and she's the type B?
Well, see, I'm quite type B,
but I think today I was type A and I've pulled through.
Yeah, my gosh.
Well done.
So double pass camping.
You and Georgia, New Year's Eve.
See you there, babes.
Oh my gosh.
Thank you so much.
You're welcome, Lucy.
So good to just have that job done.
Everyone else is like, I might be here till 10.
Yeah, she hasn't paid a cent.
That's an expensive couple of tickets.
George's in charge of finding the petrol costs.
And getting a tent.
Snacks and tent.
Yeah, getting a tent.
Loses down everything else.
Clint Meg and Dan.
Stinky B.
Every caller wins.
R&V tickets are double pass with camping.
if you get on air
and phones are running red hot
at the moment.
So if you can't get through,
you can always fire us a text on 3343.
Who knows?
We can see you.
We might even call you back
and get you on here.
Right, the reason why we can
we will never have Arianna Granda
on the show ever again.
Well, no.
Now, now, now,
yeah, but probably.
I had my hairdresser
message to me yesterday.
She texted me.
And she said, did you know
that you're in the New York Times?
I tell you what?
When you get a text like that from somebody, my heart stopped because the New York Times, surely everybody's heard about it, but they've got 20 million followers on Instagram and they've got 13.3 million paying subscribers, let alone the people that just read the website, not paying.
It was a newspaper and I think it's now just a website, isn't it?
Yes.
Yeah, it's very, very famous.
And yeah, 13 million people pay to read it.
And there is an article that is quoted me.
which is madness
about what I recently spoke about
with Ariana Grande.
It sent the shits up,
me boys.
What about the stuff about
how you think she sings breathy?
They found other quotes
from Dan Weebbe though
from previous episodes.
Ariana is like literally going,
right, who is the edge
and what country are they from?
Never again.
Yeah, and I mean,
the idea of that
because her family and her people
and her team,
and I guess not her,
she's far too busy and important
to be reading articles.
was about herself, but I imagine they've read it and I sit there and I'm like, oh, I mean,
there was a hyperlink to the whole video and I tried to actually literally, when I was
speaking about her and, and the, the change in the cultural impact of how thin people and
celebrities are becoming. And she having to be the kind of poster girl at the moment,
whether she want to be or not, there has been a big change with the rise of GLP-1s,
with weight loss, with being as thin as possible, you've seen a lot of people lose weight.
And at the moment, unfortunately, she is the poster girl of like,
look how much your body has gotten smaller.
And I think that sucks for her because I don't like talking about women's bodies.
But anyway, I got quoted in this article,
stood out, it was out there forever.
Yeah.
I don't even know how they found it.
Why?
I'm not definitely not the biggest video.
You know, we put it as a video, but it's not like that's gone viral.
Maybe I've ever got millions.
Who ever writes it.
Maybe they podcast our show.
Yeah.
Can you imagine that?
They're one of the thousands of listeners.
I would love to know, sorry, down, though,
the chain of events that happened between.
to get that video to them
seeing it. I mean it was a good video and I think your words were very good
and it was they weren't pointing at anyone to be honest me
and I don't think you pointed it a negative way to Ariana
and I think that's why they've used your quote
because I think a lot of people that have done a similar chat to you
have gone in the blame game
you know and gone oh she shouldn't be doing this where
when really Ariana
she's just she's just she's said nothing about it really
no no and she is just living her life
that's why I tried to explain how hard it is to talk about
because in the end she's still a role model
but should she be?
It's the same for people that are really, really big
and the end we don't have somebody
who's a very, very, very large pop star
that I can even, you know, put them up against.
It's just in the end we should just try and back away
from people's bodies but anyway, should we get somebody on for...
Yeah, people are texting out.
Shut up, Megan, just give us a second.
Can nobody have said that.
No, but not thinking it.
Or someone said, come on, guys.
Oh, God.
All right, well, Sophie, congratulations.
It was worth waiting, babe.
Sophie from Christchurch.
Sophie.
There she is.
So you're a 21-year-old med student.
You're about to go into the hospital,
but you're also about at the end of the air
going to rhythm and vines, baby.
Hey, is Vic with you?
Yes.
Hi.
Yeah, hey, Vic, you're going too
as long as you don't piss Sophie off in the next four months.
excited.
How good.
Yeah.
That's so great.
What happened in your first R&V?
Oh, so we prepared a story.
Yeah, go on.
So my ex-ness friend
flat in the face from front of everyone
because our other friend was vomiting in her 10
and then ran away with this guy that she only knew for two days.
And now they're dating.
And they've been dating soon.
Well, to be fair, because they've shown everyone.
You know?
Yeah.
Wait, so she vomited in a tent and the dude still ran off with her.
Yeah.
Gross.
She must be hot.
What a great story for the wedding one day.
Well, hopefully you guys aren't throwing up in tents.
If you throw up, throw out of the tent this new year's.
Just, you know what?
Make sure you cook your chicken all the way through.
I don't think it's chicken that's making them throw up.
You know what ruins R&V?
Campbell abacter.
All right, girls.
Congratulations.
Thank you.
See you guys.
All right.
Up next, Dan's Idiot Guide to How to Get On Air today?
If you're going, how do I do it?
I'm doing all the things.
Maybe there's more that you could be doing.
I actually don't think it's as hard as people think.
And I've got a couple of steps you can get through Carl to get on here.
Clint, Meg and Dan.
How to Get On Here.
So you can join our current winners, who so far are Lucy, Vic, Georgia and Sophie.
Yeah.
And you know what?
Days like this in every caller wins, especially when it's.
for R&V.
The lines go crazy, the phone lines.
And so you need to be energetic
if you're wanting to get through the producers
on to on ear.
You get people coming on all the time
that are just, hello?
So I've got Meg out in the office
pretending to be a caller.
Can you hear us, Meg, this morning?
Yes, hello.
Hello, Meg.
So you're going to be playing both roles.
The first role you're going to be playing,
which I think is the role you're born to play,
the terrible caller.
Okay?
Thank you, Dad.
caller that's got absolutely no energy.
They're terrible on air, and they're never going to get through a producer.
So I'm going to play the producer.
I'm going to answer the phone, and you pretend to be a bad caller, which would never get through.
Okay?
Here we go.
Action.
Hello, the edge.
Is that the edge?
Hung up on her.
Instantly.
Instantly hung up on her.
She's brought no energy, nothing to the table.
Now, this is what's going to happen when a good caller calls through.
is what you want to happen. Okay, so I'm
Carl again, I answer the phone. Hello,
The Edge. My gosh, I'm so
excited that they got through. I love
the Edge and R&D.
What else do you love?
Radio, and listening to you guys
to the end of time. Okay, well, this is
fantastic. I'm going to put you through to the guys, and you're going to
win yourself some tickets.
I have wonderful, cool
stories that are funny. I'm hung up on it.
But I mean, that's that... She started
to sound a bit annoying, of honest. Yeah, she did have anything.
So the trick is to try to...
her hand, I feel. The trick is to find
the fine line between being really
energetic and not to annoy you.
Yeah, right. Yeah. So there's so
many people call... I mean, the text machine in
itself is just going off the charts.
I know some more the rock burner phones.
I don't think that's necessary. I mean, maybe you double
your chances because you're rocking two phones.
My advice
would be, if it starts ringing, then you have
one of our 12 lines. Don't
hang up. You've actually got through
to a line that will be
picked up eventually. Yeah. Meg, you can come
back now if you're listening. Should we go to one more caller before
we go? Yeah, let's see if anyone's learned from what
you've just taught them. Okay, let's go
to Harmony. Good morning.
Oh my God. I need to subtitle you.
Yeah. I didn't understand a word you just said.
Is it Harmony and Miller?
Wow.
Well, guess what? Harmony and Miller. You're going to R&B,
baby.
Wednesday. Wine Wednesday is it used to be.
back in the day.
It was so used to know.
It was good as nice.
So we had to...
Well, it was paid off.
You guys are going.
We'll see you there.
$20.
$1,000 worth of tickets and camping for free.
All yours.
Harmony, congrats.
Give you a good karma to you.
Oh, thank you so much.
We'll take it.
We'll take the good karma.
Yeah.
We'll accept that.
Thank you very much.
We'll see you there.
Don't be a stranger.
Come and say hi.
If you see us hanging out at R&V.
Why, O'Hiko, stay in Gizzy for the final.
Hurrah.
You want to go?
Get on here.
And we'll send you for free.
Well done, Meg. That was great acting for me on the phone.
It was really easy to be annoying.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It comes naturally for some reason.
All right, we get a scandal update from Meg in three minutes,
and then every morning we do first call of the day,
which won't actually be first call of the day.
I don't imagine we'll have any troubles getting anybody on this morning.
Not that we ever do.
No, no, of course.
Do you sound like I implied that, no, my bad.
Scandal headlines next.
The Clint Meag and Dan podcast.
Oh, it's scandal.
Yeah.
It's scandal.
Hilary Duff, reunited with the Madden Brothers to perform the anthem.
It was like Millennials Dream.
I know Carl, producer Carl, got lost in it.
That's not, eh?
Look at him.
Oh my God, like my wife and I last night,
just peak millennials sitting there just like fizzing watching it.
Dream coming true.
She used to date one of the Madden Brothers.
My wife?
Oh no, Hillary.
Yeah, yeah.
No, Hillary did.
Yeah, one of her exes.
But, like, highly controversial because he was like 20,
I think he was like 25 at the time
and she was like 16 or 7.
It was quite weird, but yes, they did use to date.
But now they're with Nicole Ritchie and Cameron Diaz.
Yes.
Mate, those boys just keep getting the lucky bounce up.
Interesting, isn't it?
Because if you look at them, they're a bit...
Fugly.
I mean, they're not tens in my eyes,
but I guess if you're a musician,
you automatically get five more points.
Are you into an instrument?
Not last time I'd check out.
No.
But if you play any instrument, you've got at it
and you're in a band, oh my God, you're right,
Clint, it puts you up some points.
I've actually seen a stat where even just carrying a guitar case
gives you three more points.
Is that why you carry yours around?
Yeah.
Has it got a guitar in it.
It's got some pack of chips in it.
Packing chips.
And if there was a guitar, the best thing you do is like break one of the strings when someone wants you to play.
Oh, sorry, I can't have a string?
They're like, Clint, can you play a song?
He goes, nah, but I can give you a Dorito.
All right.
Normally this would be where we do first call of the day.
We've had quite a few calls already this morning with every call of wins.
But we'll give away another double pass to R&V with camping.
Four days worth.
It's about a thousand bucks worth the tickets up for grabs next.
Literally your New Year's sorted.
All you need to do is B-Y-O-Tent and some good vibes.
That's the one.
That's all you need.
Hey, is this role model?
He's got a new song out today about Dakota Johnson.
Of course.
Of course he does.
Mate, he's getting a lucky bounce too, isn't he?
Everything's coming up role models here.
Oh, yeah.
That's because he carries around a guitar case.
Yeah, true.
With chips in it.
It's the edge.
Clint, Megan Dan.
Lesh Cole.
Every caller wins R&V tickets with camping.
It's about a thousand bucks worth of tickets this morning.
First time caller.
And of course it's bringing some people out of the woodwork for the very first time.
Morning, Natalia.
Wait, I can't hear. I can't hear this.
You, Natalia, you and Anna are going to R&V, the final day.
There's no way on the line right now.
It's all sorted.
We've been calling for like 30 minutes.
Oh, that's all.
Oh, my God.
So wait.
You got no money.
They're at uni.
You've got a boyfriend.
Is he going?
Broke, uni students, bro.
We're pulling through.
We're in the trenches right now.
We didn't buy out tickets because we had no money to.
Wow, now you've got them for free.
I love girls.
I love girls so much.
Okay, well, you've got a boyfriend.
Is he going or you don't care?
You guys are just going together.
Hey, well, I do have a boyfriend, but this is my home girl.
The crazy thing is this morning, all morning we've had callers calling through,
and they've always been with their mate.
Every time so far, I've had like, bestie with them.
You've just got to double down on the odds.
Yeah, true.
calling as well.
Okay.
Well, you guys can chill out, relax now.
I'm in like your waiting room.
You're in the waiting.
Oh, well, you can hang up now.
I'm in the waiting room.
Funny.
No, don't hang up because we need to get your details but hold in a
Natalia.
No, no, I met the other friend.
Oh, yeah, sorry, she can.
Congrats, kills.
Job done.
It was worth getting up early for.
Congratulations.
We'll see you there.
See you guys.
God, that's so huge, hey, R&V.
You just forget how massive it is.
And with it being the last year in Kizzi as well,
you just know.
they're going to send it out.
Yeah.
In style.
100%.
It's going to be massive.
Can't wait.
Even just seeing on the screens here in studio,
just the rhythm of buying stage and there's like fireworks shooting up and everyone's
standing on each other's shoulders and you just go, oh, mate, it's going to be such a vibe.
And so many more double passes with camping to give away throughout the rest of the morning.
In fact, we've just scratched the tip of the iceberg.
I got a naughty 640 for you next.
What is the guy equivalent to flowers?
Okay.
Beers, isn't it?
Have a bit of a think.
Yeah.
It's not beers.
If you give a girl flower, I think, oh my God, that sounds.
What is the guy equivalent of that?
It's next.
Clint Meg and Dan, every caller wins.
You get on here, you go into R&V with a mate and camping.
It's time to get naughty at 640.
Well, this person well and truly knows our Dan Webby.
Well, I think all three of us.
Well, most of you.
So I'm curious about things getting stuck up bums.
So, okay.
I do enjoy a situation where someone's got into a situation at home.
We thought of put stuff about their bum
And they're enjoying it
And then they've taken things too far
And they have not thought about the return journey
Okay, so we all have to have a guess
Before we go to Anonymous
Who is a nurse
And she teased us by saying
I'll tell you for Nauty 640
What is the weirdest thing I've ever removed
From someone's anus?
One guess each
Okay
I'm gonna go a Hot Wheels car
Or some sort of car like toy
No, you'd have to be desperate
Wouldn't you?
To be putting that up there
Go on Dan
Well, she said the weirdest thing.
I think it's going to be like a ketchup bottle or something.
Or like a shampoo.
Like, you know, like a bottle of something.
Mm-hmm.
Yep.
Um, a Barbie doll.
Right.
Anonymous.
Jesus, Meg.
Too many sharp pointing anonymous.
Is anonymous?
Wait, wait, wait.
Voices guys are you still know.
No.
Fake name, Jamie.
Anonymous.
Hello.
Hey!
Hey!
Hello.
Hello.
Hello.
I'm on the edge.
Yeah.
You are on the edge.
So yes.
Congratulations.
You are going R&V.
You're on a mate.
Camping double pass.
All yours.
curiosity got the better of you.
And that poor, poor person that went through this experience,
didn't know that when they did that, they were going to win you tickets.
When you say person, Meg, I think you can safely say man.
Because I imagine the story is about a dude.
They're always men.
So what did you find up someone's bottom, Jamie?
Okay, so working in the emergency department, nothing surprises me anymore.
But it's always interesting when foreign body comes up on the screen.
but this person put four, not one, four potatoes up their bum.
Potato.
I would say,
who's closest them with Carr?
Daniel with his tomato sauce,
this was a food item.
Thank you.
I'm way off, but thank you.
Now, Jamie, few questions.
Agriar.
What style of potato was going to be one of them?
But so they put one up.
Actually, funnly you're asked.
It was a new potato.
It was a new potato.
Thank you.
That does make things more interesting because they're small.
Yeah.
And hopefully they're washed.
Oh, they should be fine.
Just push them out.
Yeah.
There was a strategy to it.
They put them in a snap lock bag,
threaded them up their bottom,
pulled the snap lock bag out,
but unfortunately the snap lock bag had burst.
Oh, my God.
Wait, so they made your own beads.
Oh, my God.
Yes.
Clint has put on to it.
But because they're just small,
wouldn't you just be able to push their own beads?
out, do you know what I mean?
Like it's just...
I think so, but no.
So, interesting.
What is, in what state does this person come in?
Are they, are they embarrassed?
Are they just trying, and they're making up excuses as to why they're up there?
Like, what's the thing?
Very sheepish, yeah.
You're onto it.
Very sheepish.
And did it require surgery?
No, just lots of laxatives.
Yeah, see, just get it out.
Oh, mate, you would have tried that before you went to the hospital.
Surely.
Just take some lexatives and push.
I think I'd part, as I've said before, I'd die.
I'd rather die.
You'd die at home.
Yeah, I'd die at home.
I reckon you could even...
I'd exercise every possible thing before I went to the hospital.
If that happened to you, you could call me.
I'd find a way.
I'd have my safe person.
I'd bring my tongs.
And I'd think it'd be Meg.
Hey, well, fake name Jamie.
Have a great day at work today.
Hopefully no one recognizes your voice.
You go to R&V for free, babe.
Thank you for that.
Thank you so much, guys.
This is amazing.
Okay, now you know, Meg, if I call to you when I say my safe word potato,
you get in the car with some tongs.
I'll get the tongs.
Clint, Meg and Dan.
Oh, my gosh.
Here we go, a thousand bucks on the line.
If you can give us 10 answers, starting with the letter E in 30 seconds, people are texting through.
Please, I know so many E words.
Well, that would be good.
That's helpful.
Yeah, I saw another text.
Somebody go, eggs, elephant, eggs.
It's all that hand.
You can't use the same answer twice.
No, no, that was too much.
Now, today is obviously very special.
You get on the air, even if you don't win the $1,000 with easy money,
you are on the air, so you're going to R&V.
Okay.
And that person is...
Brody!
Oh, my goodness! Oh, my goodness!
Oh, my goodness!
Oh, my goodness!
I've been calling since 545.
You have no idea how long I'll be calling.
We're not even on that, really.
Yeah, you were calling 15 minutes too early, Brody.
But you have got in your...
little back pocket two, or double pass to R&V.
I got, I got no story for R&V, unfortunately,
because, you know, I feel like it's a bit inappropriate.
Ah, yeah, that's okay.
I don't know if I can say it on the radio.
No, no, we don't want your R&V story.
We want you to play easy money.
Do you know what you're doing?
Oh, no, I don't.
Sorry, my heart is racing.
Okay, okay, let me explain to them, Brody.
So, Meg is going to give you 10 categories.
You need to give us 10 answers,
and they all have to start with the letter E.
Instead of the letter E
Yeah, and if you can give us
10, we'll give you $1,000
but you just can't repeat the same answer
twice, okay?
Okay, I'll try my biz.
It's really simple.
Okay, mate, you have 30 seconds on the clock
and your time starts at the end of Meg
asking you your first question.
Here you go, bro.
Yeah, so, Brody, you've got to be fast, okay?
E, fast.
Ready?
Right, that doesn't give me...
Yeah.
Here we go.
Yeah, I'm sorry.
No, you're all good, bro.
It's just an extra thousand bucks.
on top of the tickets if you can get it done.
Here we go, spending money.
Give me a body part.
Albow.
An animal.
Elephant.
An occupation.
I have no idea.
You can pass.
Can I pass? Pass, pass.
Something you find in a kitchen.
There's a random part.
A positive word.
A positive word.
Um,
probably this is
might be when the worst ones
were ever done.
Hey, Brody, we'll stop.
Yeah, I'm too too.
Hey, but on the positive side,
you're going to R and V!
Yeah!
Oh, my God.
Congratulations, bro.
Let's go.
Dare I ask, oh, this is a risty one.
Do you know what radio station you're on right now?
Yes, I'm on the edge.
Okay, good.
Thank God for that.
I don't think he knows where he is,
but he knows he's on the edge, which is good.
All right, Brody, stay there, buddy.
Clint, Megan Dan
Lesh, Cole
Are we allowed to say what we're
Surely?
I don't know
But I do know
He's got a new song
Come out today
That I'm playing for you
And we've got tickets
To our Elks Warren to give away
Next week
Oh yes
Exciting
And we got all the tickets man
Free
Free call wins
Oh my God
Okay
So we are going to
Cole call somebody
It's being text
That's six through this morning
I know they've seen a lot of them
And then you get to go
to RMV for free
You got your pass
One pass
Then we're going to call you
Plus 1
If they'd pick up, they'll go with you.
But if they don't, got something a little bit different, eh?
Yeah, something a little bit different.
I'm calling them now.
So the first hoop, they need to answer the phone.
So hopefully they do.
Go on.
Hello?
Isn't available right now?
Oh, no.
I think it's because they're calling us.
Yeah, maybe.
Because it went straight.
Try it again.
Try it one more time.
I think they're trying to call us.
Yeah.
Oh, no, stop calling us.
I can't call you.
Go on.
No, I can't call you.
See, I said off here, I was like, we should definitely call them first and let them know.
But they're not going to go on.
No, surely, though, if you listen to the show and you are calling, you'd stop calling.
This is the problem.
We didn't think this through, because he's sitting there calling through, calling through.
Yeah, that's it.
Okay.
I guess we can't do it.
Okay, well, let's go to somebody else.
All right, let's go you.
Hi, Sydney.
Oh, my God.
Sydney
Now before you celebrate too much
You've just won yourself one pass
So with camping to R&V
So what we're going to do now
Who is this number we've got
Is it for your best friend?
Yes
My flat mate, yes
Okay your best mate Mackenzie
Okay so is she right next to you?
Yes I've woken her up
Okay so there's no point in us calling
I want to just hand the phone to her
Bloody hell
Good morning
Hey McKinsey you go to
R&V too, babe.
Oh, brilliant.
Beautiful.
Well played, Sydney and McKenzie.
Well played.
That's one way to do it when you're flat mates.
Mackenzie doesn't know what's going on age.
She's been woken up at 7.30.
What am I doing?
She's like, just take the phone.
We're going to R&V, babe.
Hey, how cold is it and done is this morning, Sydney?
Oh, it's freezing.
It's frigid.
It's cold, but this is the best news.
So we'll put up with it.
Last I looked, it was minus 3 in Dunedon this morning.
So freezing.
It's been a cold.
week for you guys. Your landlord
must have your
flat all lined with
insulation and heat pumps.
Yes, actually, we've gotten very
lucky this. Oh, yeah. You do have a nice flat.
Okay, well. We've been sarcastic, but that is nice to know you're staying
nice on. Okay. Coming up to Sydney, isn't it?
Congrats.
Congratulations, Sydney and McKenzie. You both go on R&B
with camping. Yay. A thousand bucks with the tickets.
There we go. Okay, Meg's got new music Friday.
Who's dropping new tunes today?
Roll model, Alex, Warren,
Kelly Reed-chipson, I had to put her in there.
She's always got new music coming out.
Yeah, yeah, she's still trying.
She's still trying, bless her.
Sorry, crab at the wall.
Also, Peking Duck, I thought R&V royalty.
I don't think they're going this year,
but they have been before, so they've got a new track as well.
Cool.
All right, we get to it all. Next, on the edge.
Clint, Megan, Dan.
Every caller wins this morning.
We're giving you the opportunity.
Ticks through probably is the best way
if you can't get through on the phones.
3343.
To nominate somebody else,
in your life that you know is frothing to go.
Maybe you owe them an apology.
Whatever it is.
Or maybe it's just someone in the world you know that just really deserves to go
and you can pay it forward.
The person that owes me an apology is our web person, is he?
They just took a photo of us.
To be honest, it's not her fault.
But she took a lovely photo of us.
You know, every caller wins are in V-Day today.
It's so bad, Dad.
It's the worst.
I can't cry.
It's the worst.
It's the worst.
look fine. I look like I've just had a carrot shoved up my bum.
Like I'm just sitting there like this. I'm almost going cross-eye.
I'm leaning forward. I've got the worst posture.
You're looking at the ceiling because you're all chin.
What part of you is he? I know you can't answer. I thought that was a good photo upload.
How bad were the other ones if you thought that's the one?
Because she took multiple.
She's dying of laughter in the office.
It's one of the worst.
She took five photos.
And that was the best one.
It was the best of Dan.
You can go to our Instagram right now and have a look at it.
But it genuinely looks like I've got some sort of
Prosteria issue.
Jesus Christ.
I'm laughing.
Yeah, so she owes you one, definitely.
Do you need to change somebody's luck?
Or do you just need to pay it forward?
What is it?
Oh my God.
Who is it that you would like to send a couple of RMV tickets with camping to?
Because it's not a fully selfish thing.
Why, do they get to go to?
Well, no, because I think you pay it forward.
You get nothing instantly, but the karma comes to you, don't it?
Yeah, sure.
Is there somebody, Meg, that you owe?
And you go, you know, it'd be a nice way to repay them.
Or somebody that you really need to say sorry to.
And you're like, that would probably help.
Honestly, I feel pretty bad about laughing so hard at Dan's ugly float.
So could you send me to R&P?
Sorry, but.
Honestly, I think I've got no one else to blame it myself, unfortunately.
Other than that, I think I'm guilt-free at the moment.
Unless you've got something that you're thinking about that I've forgotten about that,
that's going to cause me anxiety now.
Yeah, there will be something.
I think the best thing to do is for you to text through,
Maybe you're the mum of a person
that is desperately wanting to go to R&V.
Maybe it's your partner and you're wanting them
to go with their friends.
Anything like that where you will give these
tickets away, double past R&B
with camping, to someone else.
Selfless, but you're giving them away.
Yeah, you might already have plans for
New Year's and you're like, oh, but you know who would love
to go. Yeah. There's no, text's coming through
thick and fast, so we'll have about three minutes
to read through them and then we'll
try and get them on. Maybe you could even send
us their number if you have it, but other
Otherwise, I don't know, it's just more admin for producer car.
That's right.
He's used to it.
What we're wanting here is a really feel-good cry moment, aren't we?
We're Meg burst into tears.
It's one of those moments.
Yeah, I've already ruined my makeup from laughing at Dan, so I'm happy to cry.
See if you can get Meg to do another Yahoo.
Yay, Jamie.
Thanks you so much, guys.
This is amazing.
Yahoo!
You know, she's excited when she does that.
Yeah, yeah, it's hard to get a Yahoo out of her.
Every caller wins
Tickets to R&V
If you get on here
With camping
Double Pass
It's about a thousand bucks
Worth of tickets
We've said if you'd like to pay it forward
And win tickets on behalf
Or to
For somebody else
Then let us know
Why and who they are
And we'll try and get them on
And surprise them
Imagine getting a phone call
Knowing someone thought of you
What a beautiful moment
Yeah
And through your name out there
Okay
Okay
We've had so many come through
That it's been an absolute
I mean
It's been impossible
To even try and read them
What is nice
to see how many people wouldn't do this?
A lot of selfless people around the country
that are wanting to pass these tickets on
to someone that deserves them.
And like you say Meg, the text machine
is just cranking.
Yeah, cranking through.
Okay, who are you going to first?
Okay, let's go to
Joe.
Morning, Joe.
Hey, Joe.
Morning.
Morning, you would like to get tickets
for your daughter.
Oh, my God.
She will, I will be the best mom
for the rest.
of my laugh.
Okay, let me see.
Let me say.
Okay, you've got, we've got her number here, so we can give her a call,
and you can give her the good news, that you've just won her a double pass to R&V,
and she's going for news.
Oh, my God.
She'll be listening.
She's probably hearing mum.
She's Riley.
She's sick in bed at the moment.
She's sick in bed.
I hope she's awake.
Oh, God.
Imagine if she's not, she won't get the tickets.
No.
She's an unknown number.
Come on, Riley.
It doesn't sound like she's trying to get.
Your call has been forwarded to him.
No.
So no tickets for her.
unfortunately.
No.
He jam teenagers with their phones on
freaking silence.
Yeah, I know.
Hey, Joe, I want you to be
mum of the year.
We'll give you a double pass with camping.
Oh my God.
When you can finally hold of Riley.
You can give it the good news.
You guys have made my week, my year.
You're the best.
Thanks for being so selfless.
I mean, you could go with her if you wanted
to, Joe.
Mom and daughter, it's squad.
Absolutely not. I'm far too old for that.
Carry on.
Well, you call her when you can, Joe,
and see if she's, hopefully she's going
better in bed. We're also going to do another one because
I feel like it. Morning, Kurt.
Morning.
Hi, Kurt. You are
a dad. Here you going. Yeah, good, mate.
So you're a dad and you're a 57-year-old truckie trying to win tickets
for your 20-year-old daughter, correct?
Yep, see, Leah.
Okay, well, this is great.
We've got your daughter's number. We're going to try and to break her.
Asty.
Asty?
Yeah, A-S-T-I-S-E.
And has she recently gone through a breakup?
Yeah, mate, recently gone for a breakup
and, yeah, she's got out looking after our granddaughter.
Oh, this is great.
Well, then she would very much deserve tickets.
Your call has been.
Oh, my God.
None of these kids pick up their phone kit.
Yeah.
Oh, no, she's a bit timid on stuff.
So she's a private number.
She might not be answering.
All right.
We'll get producer Carl to call her in the background.
Oh, it's calling now.
Sorry, Clint.
If it doesn't make up here, we'll get a card to call on the background.
I just love it.
love that like a dad a dad who is you're probably not interested in going to rmv are you probably
too busy working kirk over new years yeah my too busy working but i'd love the experience for her
because he hasn't been to anything like that so it'd be wicked oh you're a nice guy kirk
imagine when your your daughter is in a relationship and they have a breakup and their heart's breaking
yours breaks as well so i love that you're thinking of her and wanting to win her rmv tickets just
to i don't know give her something fun to look forward to oh yeah now it'd be great
It'd be great.
Okay.
And it'll give her a break too.
Yeah, you give her a call and tell her the good news.
Until her to answer her bloody phone, every now and then.
Yeah, we'll do, we'll do.
Yeah, it'd be a nice surprise for you to give her later on today, Kurt, when you get a hold of her, mate.
Hopefully father of the year.
And that's not it.
So many more chances to win double passes with camping to R&V throughout the rest of the morning.
Yeah, that was about two grands where the tickets gone just then.
Man.
And you would not believe how many more tickets we have between now and 10 o'clock.
When the boss told us, we were like, eh?
We said earlier this morning
It's a plethora tickets.
That's how many.
Easy money is next to your chance
to play for a thousand dollars cash.
Not a bad constellation prize.
Winning tickets to R&V.
Constellation is different to constellation.
Yeah, that's about the stars, isn't it?
Yeah, yeah.
I've been working with Meg too long, I reckon.
That's pretty good talk about stars.
What are you mean?
Just getting words confused.
That was a really low blow, Clint.
Clint, Meg and Dan.
Two past eight, thank you, Glenn, for the news update.
you missed that one. The Waz tonight at 8 o'clock, Tamari Martin, who's been playing out of his skin, out injured.
Oh, no.
And so Luke Metcalfe, who's been waiting in the wings to get a go, is going to get his chance to see if he's worth a million bucks that the dragons are paying him next year against top of the table.
He's a handy player, and he?
He's a handy player, and he's a...
He was amazing for us last year before he did his ACL.
Okay.
So I hope he goes well.
Up the wise, if you want to win tickets to R&V, double pass, and camping and $1,000, this is your chance.
Yeah, okay, well let's get that one out of the way first because we're going to play easy money.
But if you don't win, you're leaving with a thousand bucks worth of R&V tickets.
And that lucky person this morning is Maya from Christchurch.
Morning, Maya.
Hi.
Okay, so the good news is you've got them in the bag.
R&V tickets are double pass with camping is yours.
Yay, thank you.
You're so welcome.
Do you want to play for some spending money?
I would love to.
Here we go.
My...
Your letter this morning is Kay, do you?
know how to play? Do you know this game?
Yes, I do.
Okay, good, great.
So we need 10 answers, starting with K, inside 30 seconds.
No repeated answers.
If you want to pass, you can. If we've got time, we'll come back.
If you can get it done, $1,000 is yours, Mayor.
You can do this. Let's do it.
Thank you.
Here we go. Give me a Kardashian.
Kim.
An animal.
Koala.
A body part.
A food brand.
A
A singer
A retail store
Something in the kitchen
Nice
A drink
Pupp
Kmart
Surely that was a set of a store man
I had such high hopes
At the start mayor
It was two good answers
And then it went to slop
Unfortunately
Yeah no good
No good
But you have on yourself
Campaign and a double house to R&V
You're welcome
Well done
This is great
I mean, at least this morning, they don't go away empty-handed.
Yeah, that's a hell of a prize.
Do you need R&V redemption?
Yeah, I had someone that I went to R&V many moons ago who would need a redemption if something went down.
Meg's story is disgusting.
Yeah, it's pretty wild.
It'll be hard to be in terms of horror stories at R&V and why you would need redemption with free tickets.
Have you been before but you need redemption?
Maybe your mate got too drunk and you were the nice sober one that stayed back with them and you didn't even get to go.
Maybe you went with your boyfriend and you broke up night one.
You know, that one sucked, wasn't you sharing a tent?
What would you do?
Maybe somebody come and thought it was their tent, but they peed on you.
It's a specific one.
If you do have a story and you are struggling when you get through on the phones.
You can also text 3343.
Lude's going to be there.
You could be two next.
Big City Life on the edge.
Who needs to do over?
Have you been before?
And you're like, yeah, but I feel like I didn't really even experience it the way that I should have because.
Now, what a year to do it?
do over the final one in Gisbon
at Yahika Estate, Rhythm and Vines.
It's going to be huge.
You can text us your redemption story
3, 3, 4, 3, give us a call,
0,800 the edge.
So I went many moons ago
with a group of my friends,
and we were,
probably the age you are now.
We were like 18, 19, so full sending it.
Yeah, your first year?
It was my first year,
and I didn't honestly really know
what R&V was.
I had my friend,
sort the tickets, tell me I'm going,
and I was like, I don't even know what this is,
then I realized and I was like, wow, this is the best thing I've ever seen and been in my life when we were camping.
And we ended up camping next to these army boys, which they were great fun.
They had a much better setup than we did, so we kind of stuck to them.
Of course, they had like almost like a mezzanine where it was like still outside, but you had shade.
Whereas we just had our tiny little tents that we got.
It's cooking.
It was a hot box.
Yeah, which were like tiny, we were sharing with two girls per 10.
It was a big group of girls.
So we sent it, I think it was day, must have been like night two or something.
It was the morning after night tour where we went, I don't even know what time we got home.
It was seeing the sunrise.
We crawled into our tents.
And it was boiling hot this year in Gazette.
It wasn't one of the muddy years.
We had stinking, unbelievably hot weather to the point that I think the news articles were right sunstroke.
Like, people were sick.
It was so hot.
So you're like, I don't know what time we managed to get up.
It felt early for us, but it would have been cooking with heat.
We were well and truly the most hungover you could imagine.
And a friend of mine crawled out of a tent.
And she looked dead.
Do you know what I mean?
Like when you see your friend and they like kind of pop up,
hair's everywhere.
Makeup definitely not taken off.
Like we're going to take it off in a tent.
So like makeup smudged.
Here's everywhere.
Still in the same clothes from the night before.
Mud on her somehow.
And she's crawling out.
And I'm like, oh God, she's like making her way out.
And we had all woke it up by this point.
She was the worst.
She was pastime.
And we were all kind of just watching.
And we weren't like,
because we were still hung over.
Watching her crawl out.
She's like,
she was desperate for water
for any sort of liquids
and thankfully she found a Coke bottle
that was lying in the sun which would have been warm
but it's like when you're desperate you're desperate
unscrewed the lid
chugged it back
which is when she
then spat it out and we all
realized it once it was actually the two-day old bong water
that was so used
it was as black as coke
so that was
not
quite the quench.
Oh, God, I would have died.
If you could imagine being the most hangover you
have ever been in a hot tent, you see a drink,
it's like a mirage, you think it's going to help
when it's bong water.
You know what, though, if I was the person watching that,
that would have cured my hangover.
I would have been absolutely bent over laughing.
And that was me?
Oh, I don't think I would have recovered.
I think I would have passed away from laughter.
Yeah, you're just telling everyone for the rest of the weekend, eh?
Oh, man, redemption.
You need an R&V redemption, what went down.
If you need to have a story, you can text it to us.
We could call you back or you can call us at 100 the edge.
Yeah, it could be anything.
Maybe you were in one of the wet years and your tent was completely underwater.
Clint, Megan Dan.
Lesh, go.
Do you need R&V redemption?
You went once and it was just not how you had planned it to go and you need to go again.
Yeah, but a housekeeping, guys.
If you text us with a story, one, pick up the phone if you want us to call you back.
And two, don't have that answer message on where it says, please let us know why you
were calling.
I hate that answer-of-me message.
That's lost a couple of you.
Yeah, we called some, and then they couldn't pick up.
I've got that.
It makes you sound really rude, Clint.
When people are calling you and you're like screening their calls.
It's only for unknown numbers.
So any one of my contacts calls me, it doesn't do it.
But if you're an unknown number and I don't know you, who are you?
What do you want?
What if your granny's got a new phone and she tries calling it?
No, she's dead.
Wow, that would be very unlikely.
Lucy missed out, unfortunately.
But it does mean that we get to talk to Ashley who needs redemption.
Morning, Ashley.
Hello?
Ash, you're on there, babe, so let's get that out of the way.
You go on R&V from New Year's.
Hi!
Hello!
Hello!
Okay, tell us why do you need redemption?
Actually, how many times have you called this morning with it being now quarter past eight?
2,100 almost.
Shut up.
Well, you deserve this then.
Are you serious?
I know.
Oh, my God.
Is that possible?
Yes, it is.
I promise you.
She's like, I can tell you it very much is.
Are you running two phones for that, or are you just doing it on one?
phone. I'm just doing on one
phone. Could, because I can tell you this.
There's a lot of people that have got a like double phone situation
and they're calling on both. That's wild.
Over 2,000 causes, crazy.
All right, let's get to your redemption story. Why do you need it?
Okay, so basically
last year I decided not to go to R&V.
So I stayed home
after the first night. I saw everyone's
photos, got major fomo.
So I bought a resale ticket.
I drove down from Auckland to get them by myself.
self. It's like seven hours.
Yuck. I broke down 30 minutes away.
Okay. Oh, that's a shock.
Yep. Got picked up by some construction workers.
Did they just happen to die past?
Did you?
Yeah, they drove past me.
Oh, wow, that's lucky, at least.
Oh, my God. And then made the RV best time in my life.
But unfortunately, my car didn't make it back to Auckland for another like four weeks.
Oh, no, the admin of having me.
And I did.
What, Ashley, you've won the tickets, but that's not so bad.
You had a great time at R&V.
Yes, exactly
Yeah, but your car breaking down
And then trying to get it back from a city
That you're not in, nightmare
Yeah, I know, it was impossible
Oh, my dad helped me out a little bit
But, okay
Good old dads
Yeah, well at least you had a good time
At R&V your car
Did you get a new car?
Unfortunately not
Okay, so you need to call back
When Evry caller wins a car
But I guess this is
Yeah, sounds good to me
I'm calling it from 530
Yeah
The only thing would have made that story better
It's which you got
Yeah, dad brought me a new out
Yeah, that would have been a bit.
All right, Ashley, enjoy
R&B this year.
Thank you so much.
You're welcome, babe.
She was lovely, though, wasn't it?
Oh, doing a seven-hour trip on your own.
She must add huge FOMO.
That's a long trip to do by yourself in the car.
Yeah.
All right, we've got the best parts of this week
wrapped up in the producer's diary that
Producer Brady has put together for you.
If you've been not getting as much
of your Clint Megadam fix as you would like.
And we'll give away another double-pass with camping
in the next four.
minutes if you're wondering when that's going to happen.
What do you got to say about that, Meg?
What did I say?
Yabedabadoo.
Yes, you know.
Guys, this is amazing.
I got Fred Flintstone.
That's the edge.
Yeah, but davenu.
Clint, Meg and Dan.
Let's go.
$12,000 worth of R&V tickets given away already.
A double pass worth four days camping up for grabs if you get on the air this morning.
I actually hear we've got somebody on that wants to win them for somebody else.
Oh, selfless.
Is that right, Orlando?
Oh, my God.
You're trying to be really selfless and win them to somebody else unless you're trickiness.
Oh my God.
What's the story?
So basically, our friend Darien, he works in construction and he put a nail through his hand last week.
And it ended up like going into the bone and getting infected.
So we had to spend all this money on.
surgery and all of this.
So he doesn't have the money to go to R&B
and we've never been before and we really want to go.
So we've been trying to win them tickets
and then we're just going to pay for our tickets
so we can all go.
Oh, that's nice.
So he needs to pay for us.
Do you have to pay for surgery and stuff?
Wouldn't that be covered by ACC?
Well, it depends if it was stupidity, I guess.
No.
He's a bit of a silly bastard.
No, okay.
Okay, well, I'll give him a call and see if he answers.
Okay, we're going through to Dan.
Oh, that's all good.
No, he's got one of those stupidity.
stupid things.
All those answer phones are in goes, who are you?
If you record your name and reason for calling, I'll see if this person is available.
Let's try it.
It's Clint Meek and Dan.
We're trying to give you R&V tickets, mate.
Pick up.
You have to pick up.
Thanks.
Please stay on the line.
Well, if he doesn't pick up that, you're stuffed Orlando.
Boy, he still technically, I guess, gets tickets.
He's on the air.
Hello?
Hello.
Hello.
Your friend Orlando.
Oh my gosh, told us.
You got a nail gun in your hand and you can't go to R&V,
so they have one you tickets to go.
There's no way, really.
Oh, that's awesome.
There's actually no way.
You know Orlando?
Yeah, it's Orlando and somebody else.
Who else is there?
It's Kayla.
Kayla and Orlando.
Hey, Orlando, Kayla, you guys don't want to pay for your tickets, do you?
Follow me?
You don't want to pay for tickets.
I know you're winning them for Darien,
you don't want to pay for tickets.
Do we just sort them all out with free tickets?
All three of you are going.
We'll saw you all out, eh?
Oh my God, no way.
Yeah, I'll be honest.
I think Daryan and Orlando sound exactly the same.
Yeah, okay.
They're going to go, no way.
Darian, what I will say, so we'll sort them out with tickets.
You've got a ticket as well, mate, and you can bring a plus one.
So there's three of you, you can look for one more.
So you've got two doubles.
Oh, mate, that is just such good news.
Oh, man.
That's no better way to start a Friday.
The bad news is the three of you are going and I'm the fourth person.
I'm coming along as well.
These guys are lads, man.
I want to catch up with these guys after work.
All right, Darien, look after yourself, please.
Put on your creams, change your wounds, all those things.
Kate.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
I worry about him.
That's a weird thing if you've just tuned in because he has had a nail gun through his head.
Meigs just not telling him to put creams on for no reason.
Yeah, yeah.
I don't believe he's the new Jesus either.
It's a real niche one for my religious friends.
That's the future generation building our houses right there, by the way.
Clint, Megan Dan.
Oh, my gosh.
And we've done this one before with every caller wins.
We thought, oh, it might be good to bring this one back.
Oh, it's going to be cool back.
Clickbait call back.
It's going to be so hard to look through the text.
I know, but like sometimes it's very hard to get through on the phones
because they start getting jammed from like half five
and they don't stop until well after 10.
Now there's a trick to this with ClickClake Callback.
don't give us the full story.
Tease us.
Think of it like a headline.
Like if you're wanting a click-baity headline, you click on it, that's what we want.
Yeah.
So if you can't get through to us, entice us to call you.
And you get on the air, you're going to RMV for free, double pass with camping for four days.
Oh, and don't be a dick.
Don't make something up.
Don't like, you know.
Unless you can tell it with full.
Oh, yeah, I don't care if you tell the story.
But like, don't be like, oh, no, I just made that up to win the tickets.
That's a loser move.
We can see through a lie.
Yeah.
Anything?
Okay, yeah, they're coming through thick and fast now.
All right, so you ping something through.
I do love that here you guys go, oh my God, you'll never guess.
I've got the greatest story ever.
I'm like, where were you Thursday?
Yeah.
Where were you Wednesday?
Sitting on them for every caller wins.
Fair enough.
Sometimes you need a carrot to dangle in front of people's faces.
True.
$14,000 worth of R&V tickets given away already this morning.
if you want to get on here
we'll call you next if you can entice us
it's tricky like Dan said there's a bit of an art to it
I feel like you need more than what Kaylee's text through
she just said never trust a fart
I guess you've got to work out what happened there
shut it she shouted
we've heard the story Kaylee
yeah okay
and there are always the
it's interesting as well what you think will entice us
we got one at 640
bit of a naughty one
we won't be able to
I like this one
My dad won Metallica tickets in the 2000s from you guys,
so I thought I'd just try my luck.
That's not sort of how it works.
Someone's just a police car chase.
Now we're talking.
Those are kind of interesting.
Okay.
I played Scrabble with my family on New Year's.
Does that interest you boys?
It's not super exciting.
Yeah, I feel like that's the gist.
Yeah, you've got to have to give us a little bit.
Really think about your tea. Sell it to us.
Every caller wins R&V tickets.
get on here and I know it's tricky to get through on the phones on a day like today.
So we give you the opportunity at some point during the show to entice us to call you back.
Click Bates, call back.
Okay, I mean, there's too many options.
There are so many people listening right now with the story.
So reading through some that we've got, we've got, I keep my dead cat in the freezer,
I had an awful experience in the mosh pit.
I have a story about how I was falsely arrested in Bali from the wrong identity.
It's my favourite.
Yeah, that's a good one.
Spending a day in a Balinese prison's got to be unbelievably fighting.
A screwdriver, a Batman car and a misphysectomy opportunity.
That sounds like a hell of it, eh?
Oh, my God.
Batman was busy and couldn't drop him off at his appointment.
My husband was in a coma for nine months.
That's crazy.
And now has a metal face, like robocop.
A story about how I got a golf ball-sized hemorrhoids.
I mean, you've sort of told the story there in a way.
What about this one?
I'm a police officer and had to bring up.
Blame the smell of urine on a criminal in the patrol car,
but there was no criminal with me.
Sounds like they pissed himself.
I want to hate it.
That's an interesting story, isn't it?
Why?
I think I'm most intrigued by the husband in a coma for nine months.
At what time frame do they go, hey, look, we're probably going to have to turn it off.
Or did they always know he was going to be waking up?
Nine months is a long time for somebody to be in a coma and wondering if they're ever going to wake up.
But sometimes in a coma, they can't.
Even if you turn off the life support, they can still keep breathing.
Like sometimes to be in a coma, correct me if I'm wrong, but you don't have to be on life support.
Imagine that day when you get the phone call and go, hey, whatever his name is, Brad's just woken up after almost a year of being asleep.
And you have to tell them, by the way, it's been being here.
Nearly.
Imagine the rehab as well when you've been laying in a bed for nine months.
Well, happy to go with that one, Clint.
Let's go.
And now they've got a metal face.
That's interesting in itself.
I hope they pick up after all this.
I want to see.
Hello, Katie speaking.
Yay!
You go an R&V for free, double passing camping.
Are you enticed us with your text to want to know more
and how the heck that all went down?
Oh gosh, okay.
Well, he had a motorbike accident.
Oh, they don't do it.
He was literally put in a coma for nine months,
and this was in Australia, and then his mom came over.
It was like, we need to pull the plug.
And because I don't think they like each other, really.
Well, not anymore.
Katie, can I just say you're making this very casual,
like, yeah, yeah, man came over.
wanted to pull the plug.
So she was like pull the plug out.
Basically.
Basically.
And then he just didn't die.
So that was great.
Well,
Wilson,
mom did pull the plug.
Yeah, no.
The plug was pulled.
Like it was all turned off
and everything.
Did you ever say in this?
Did you ever say?
Were you married to him at the time or with him?
No,
it wasn't at the time.
Oh,
so the mum then has the,
what do they call it?
Yeah.
I guess you get to make the decision.
Whatever.
Yeah.
Wow.
And so then he didn't pass away.
How much longer was it that the plug was pulled when he
woke up?
It was about three days.
He was still breathing and everything, so
he just didn't go down and then
eventually he woke up, but he was in recovery
for like a year. He had to learn a walk and
and talk to do everything again. How was it
when he found out that mum
pulled the plug?
He wasn't surprised.
So their relationship wasn't great before
this happened anyway. That would
get kind of repaired any bridges?
No, she's dead now.
So, Keeney. Did he
pull her life support.
So Katie, when you're on life support, are you paying every week to keep them on life support?
Because otherwise, everyone would just say leave them on.
Like, why not?
What are you got to lose?
Mum wouldn't.
It gets to a certain point.
Like, if there's no brain activity and stuff like that, then you have to start paying, but because there was a charm.
So, yeah.
Oh, wow.
Oh, wow.
So, and I know you weren't there all with him, but do you know what it was like when he found out that it would be nine months that he'd been?
Yeah.
Oh, he was horrified.
He was really shocked.
He said he didn't feel like that at all.
It was just like going, you know, like, yeah.
Just waking out from his sleep.
He was like, what the?
Awesome.
He thought he'd only be asleep for like a day.
Yeah.
That's wild.
Oh my gosh.
And now anytime Katie that he complains about being tired,
do you make the joke going,
mate, you had nine months sleep the other week.
Good idea, actually.
She's going, you're tired.
You slept for almost an entire year back in the...
You want to sleep on Saturday, mate.
This is very personal as well.
Did he go to mum's funeral?
Yes.
Wow.
Oh my God.
I don't think I'd go to my mum's funeral.
Honestly.
My goodness me.
You know, to be fair, the mum built the plug like nine months in.
Like, she gave it a while.
Oh, come on.
All right, Katie, congratulations.
Is it you that's going to R&V?
Yeah, I'll take him too.
Okay, good on.
Nice.
So exciting.
Yeah, I mean, his story did win you.
And just so it's on record now, if you get into a coma,
how long do you want him to wait to pull the plug?
Oh, well, if there's possibility, then for a plug.
Oh, well, if there's possibility, then for a
forever. He'd be a bloody knot.
Yeah, man, that's so good. Now that's on record. We'll send that audio to him.
Thanks, Katie. Stay there. Wow.
Such a crazy thing that the body can do that.
I know. Just be asleep for nine months.
And the fact that a mum could pull the plug at any minute.
Wow.
Okay. Up next, bloody kids, they, I mean, innocent enough, my son did something that he didn't see any harm in it,
but I died when one of the mums came and picked up her son, who was having a play date at our house.
under my watch.
Yeah.
And you just, it was honest to God,
the worst time that she could have opened the door
to come pick her kid up.
In a two-and-a-half-hour window,
she picked the worst two minutes
to knock on the door and come into her house.
She saw Clint, no.
Worse.
Clint Megan Dan.
I have been sitting on this until I hoped
the school run was over
and the moms that might be listening
will not have the edge on now.
Does that we're directly?
on school running all the way.
Surely your kids are at school by now.
Type B's.
They'll be running late if they're not at school by now.
My kids both wanted to have a friend around
for a play date yesterday.
And so I was like, yeah, okay, sure.
So they come around, I'm like, four kids,
no dramas, no running around doing their thing.
And I'm trying to make popcorn
and I'm trying to entertain and whatever.
But then I get a text from one of my mates
and he was like, beer.
And the sun was out.
And I was like, that's all he needs, Dan.
For the sun to be out.
Which is every day of the year, Clint.
mostly you know like
it could be pissing down with Ryan
he's like there's the sun through the cloud there
so I said look I can't go to a bar
because then I'm going to have to take my kids
and my kids' friends to the bar
and then get their parents to pick them up
it's not a good look so I see why don't you just come to mine
he's like sweet so he comes around
and we're just having a beer
and I start in this moment
not really keeping track of what the kids are doing
in the way that I was before my mate came around
but they're fine they're like 10 they can look after themselves
I pop in a little bit here
I was waiting for the story to look like
it's not what to look
like, but it sounds like you were just drinking and not looking after the kids.
No, no, because a couple of them were having a swim and I'm sitting out on the deck and I can see them.
So I'm supervising them while they're in the water just, you know, at a distance.
And they're fine, they're 10, they can swim.
And the other two, I don't know what they're doing.
That's the problem.
So you can't see the other two then?
No.
And the other two doing whatever the heck they like.
And as it turns out, I hear a knock at the door and I'm like, oh yeah, that's about time.
One of the mum just comes to pick up their kid.
Uh-oh.
So I go to the door and go, hey, how's it going?
I go, yeah, yeah, they're just...
Reeking a beer.
Just coming out of this point.
Hey, yeah, what's up?
Yeah, versus.
Hey, Shuddy.
And I'm like, oh, I don't know where the boys are.
I think they're in their room.
And take it down the hall, look in the room.
Oh, no, they're not in their room.
So I'm like...
That's when my heart would start beating.
No, no.
And you realize I've been drinking?
I don't know where they are.
Um, no, we can only be in, like, you know, the bedroom's or the lounge area.
There's out of there somewhere.
And we wander down the hall.
And as we come into the...
kitchen, I see them.
And my son
has handcuffed his
friend to the pantry door
with red fluffy handcuffs.
And the mom's looking at me and I'm looking
at her. And then
my son, Ty is like, do you want me to handcuff you?
Do you want me to handcuff you? So he wasn't subtle
about it all. And she sees that my son's
handcuffed to her son with some red fluffy
handcuffs. Where did they get those?
They went into the top drawer of my bedroom.
Top drawer?
That's what you keep funny handcuffs?
Put it in the closet.
Put it in the bottom drawer.
Put it in a safe.
I realize now my kids are underage where the top drawer can no longer be the top drawer.
You're right.
It needs to go out of kids.
What a rich.
How often are you using them that they're very accessible in the top drawer?
Like top drawer?
Do you know what's in my top drawer?
It's like, Panadol.
undies. I'm trying to think what else is the
endos. Pandit all and undies.
And these are the things you need the most
quickly. Yeah, but you know,
I don't need, to be fair, it's not like they're
being pulled out as often as you think.
They're probably just deep in the bottom of
the top drawer, but the kids were rifling
through, God knows why. What were they looking for?
I was like, don't worry, I know my dad's got a few
fluffy handcuffs, so I'll get those.
No, I think they're looking for togs. I keep toogs
the top drawer as well, and they're rifling through
and then they found that. How many top drawers do you have?
He's like, come to the other drawer. There's a space rocket in the other one.
Let's give away a double pass
We can race them because they vibrate
Okay, who wants to go to R&V for free
Who you like him?
I like the look of Monique
Monique, you're going to run it up on.
It's nothing to do with your looks
even though Meg said it was
we don't know what you look like.
You know what you look like, Monique, you're going to
Gizzy, you're going to R&V, double pass
and campaigned.
Oh my God, thank you so much.
Oh, yeah, you're a local.
You're from Gizzy.
Yeah, I'm a Gizzy.
Oh, my God.
So how many times have you been?
You must go every year, right?
Yeah, I've been going since, well, for a very, very long time.
My mum used to buy my ticket for me.
What's the vibe in Gizzy out of interest now that we know it's the final year down there?
Is it a sad vibe or the locals kind of like, oh, thank God, now it's gone.
I think we're quite sad about it, actually.
I mean, like, trying to drive.
drive into town during R&V is difficult, which makes it a bit tricky, but like, sad for us, right?
Now we have to travel to go.
Your mum's going to be stoked because she doesn't have to fork out a thousand bucks for you and a mate's ticket this year.
Yeah, exactly.
Have the best time, Monique.
Thank you so much.
