Starting point is 00:00:00 This is a podcast from Rover. Welcome to the podcast equivalent of a you-up text. Messy, slightly regrettable, but you'll still come back for more. This is the Clint Meg and Dan podcast. Happy Friday team, producer Brady here. We had a packed show this morning. We did do a hit the spot in celebration of long-distance besty island launching, but unfortunately we can't include it in the podcast due to copyright reasons.
Starting point is 00:00:24 But you can catch the full video on the Edge Breakfast Instagram. Have a good weekend, your bloody legend. Take the edge off Your mornings With Clint Meg and Dan Catch breakfast Good morning 6 a.m, the two is back
Starting point is 00:00:37 I feel like we've been away for so, like not together for so long It's been nearly, well we'll be next week would be a month Yeah, Meg, it's like the Beatles split up and Ringo left But now he's back
Starting point is 00:00:49 Is Ringo one of the cool ones? No, he's the shit one I wouldn't know I wouldn't know It's such a weird burn Because doesn't burn But neither of us really know the Beatles Oh, there'll be Beatles fans out.
Starting point is 00:01:01 They'll be like, oh, yeah, Clint's definitely Ringo. What if we were like Friends characters, then which one would I... Oh, you're... Who's the... Gunther. He's got the same colour here as well. Yeah, you are looking more Gunther these days. Speaking of, I've hit the spot 8 o'clock this morning. What a treat!
Starting point is 00:01:17 It's been a minute. It has, you know, we counted yesterday. It's nearly three months since we've done hit the spot. Wow. Is that how long it's been since you've hit the spot? Three months. Oh, God, if we're talking about just any type of a spot hitting, I think, yeah, six months.
Starting point is 00:01:30 Well, if I'm lucky. So Friends theme with Bestie Island. Tickets going on sale at 8 o'clock this morning. So exciting. I wonder who's going to be the first couple. It'd be so great to be locked in and just know that that's happening in October. You're like, right, I'm going to go and see my best mate. And you can just do the countdown.
Starting point is 00:01:47 I know there's at least one person that's definitely getting tickets. They were DMing me the other day saying, how do you, what's the chances of it selling out? And I was like, just go on first day. And you could go to Bestie Island.com. Now there's a countdown on and everything. And it has all the details if you said and they're going, wait, I've forgotten what they said
Starting point is 00:02:02 about what dates and this and that, bestie island.com. Yeah, it's going to be epic and like you said, it's only just around the corner too. I've got to book like a trip and then not be waiting like 18 months for it to hurry out. Clint, Megan Dan.
Starting point is 00:02:14 Oh my gosh. I just got a question, guys, and Clint, you'll be a good judge of this. Am I in the minority of guys, straight men, that think that G-bangers aren't hot? You're unrelated. He's already had that prepared.
Starting point is 00:02:32 Yeah. Because I saw, here's the thing, I've seen a couple of times in the last, say, month, girls rock in that thing where the G-banger sticks out the top of their pants again. Oh, the old Kim, Kim, Kim, from Kath and Kim. Yeah, see, now Brady, he's a straight guy, he's our producer. Yeah, I'll say, like, when they've got the G-bangger sticking out of the pants, that's pretty filthy. Now, yeah, I saw someone the other day that was rocking that, and I just, and I was just like, Is that a trend that's now back at it?
Starting point is 00:03:01 I believe it's back, yeah, the old slightly higher than the low. It's because, well, it's actually, I don't think it's been like, oh, I'm going to make sure my G-Banger rides high. It's because genes are getting lower again. We've got lower-rise jeans back. So that's why it's just kind of happening if somebody bends over, you see a G-Bagger. But then shouldn't that then face out the G-Banger? Yeah, I know.
Starting point is 00:03:18 I don't think it's happening, Dad. Then it takes time, you see. There's a vent diagram. I feel like that needs to not overlap. It's such a double standard, though, isn't it? Dan's allowed to low-ride and have his Calvin Klein's showing, but then girls aren't. Low ride.
Starting point is 00:03:30 Girls aren't allowed to have their band of their G-bang are sticking up through their jeans? They're pretty low. Are they? They're pretty low, even wearing a jig-banger. I don't have one righting and having a jeepangang bag. I've never worn one.
Starting point is 00:03:41 I've never tried one on. People that wear them say that they're very comfortable. I can't imagine that having my undies stuck up my bottom is comfortable at all. You keep trying to pick it out, really. It is one of those things you just get used to. At first it's not fun, but you persevere. Yeah, I would say that would be about right. I'm lucky.
Starting point is 00:03:57 My wife always wears them. Yeah, she's a G-banger lady. I reckon Clint's sworn one. If any guy on the show has rocked a G-Banger. I bet you have. You give G-Banger energy. I'm very curious now that we're talking about.
Starting point is 00:04:08 I'm like, have I? I reckon he's worn one. I reckon if I went through his drawers at home, there'd be at least one G-Banger. The closest I think I ever got was, when we got sent, when Boy, it was a big movie, we got seen one of those Mankinis.
Starting point is 00:04:21 I think I'd try it on for fun. God, is that how long you've been in radio? We didn't know. That is honestly really shocking. That's the most shocking thing here. It's not that old. Pretty old. It's like eight years or so.
Starting point is 00:04:34 No, it's not. I think four and two maybe came out. There's a two? I think so. Yeah, maybe there's not. Anyway, so there you go. 2006, Clint. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:04:45 Eight is she is. Eight to ten. Let's go. This is the overthinket podcast. You're going to podcast as this alongside our show recap podcast. If you want a little more, Clint Megan Dan, around what? 11 a.m. It's probably up, midday, latest.
Starting point is 00:05:01 Something like that. I was back yesterday, but Clint, this is your first day back. We tried calling you on the podcast yesterday. You didn't pick up. You have one of those stupid voice messages that says, you know, I may or may not pick this up if I like you, basically. That's what it means. And you did it big up.
Starting point is 00:05:18 Well, Dan called me a couple of days earlier, but it came up Ed Studio. But I think I got an unknown number a couple of times, and I was like, nah. Wow. Did you not hear I mean? message? I think I must have got a bit later and I was out. You guys will have well left by now.
Starting point is 00:05:34 Yeah, well, why I was calling you is because Dan has made a wild claim. Oh, okay. Okay, let's have it said here on the podcast. I'm drawing a line in the sand and you can hold me to account. Anyone that's listening, you Meg, Cal, Clint, if he's listening, producer Brady, hold me to account. Boss? Jack, has his name. Oh, my God, you've had quite few bosses in the last few months.
Starting point is 00:05:59 Right, is it chocolate or sugar? What are you giving up? I'm saying it now. From now on, I'm not eating sugar. Sugar. Giving it up. I'm giving it up. Sugar's done.
Starting point is 00:06:12 If you see me eating sugar, me, you can give me a kick up the round ass kick to the back of the head or up the ass. Okay. The boss has someone to say to you. Yeah, bullshit. Nobody believes it. And Clint, that's why I was calling you, because I know you won't believe it. He's done this before. And then we'll put a little bowl of lollies in there.
Starting point is 00:06:28 and he'll start eating them. Damn, we'll literally. He's like, no more. And then Meg and I genuinely will do this, where we'll slide lollies close to him. He'll start putting them his mouth just on autopilot, and then probably on the fourth one, he goes, and he doesn't know what he's doing.
Starting point is 00:06:42 Okay, I'm like a cow with grass, with lollies. Like if it's in front of me, I'll eat it. But I reckon I've gone 18 hours now with out eating sugar. Yeah. You could put anything in front of me now. I've got, I've got... I've got... 80 miles.
Starting point is 00:06:54 Go and do it. Wait, what about things like, you know, oh, I'm going to get sushi. because it's healthy, right? It's got five grams of sugar per half a cup of rice. Yeah, I think when you give up sugar, you're obviously, you know that there is going to be sugar in some stuff, but you're not having sugary stuff.
Starting point is 00:07:11 Okay, you're not adding sugar or having sugary stuff. Yeah, so I'm not going to, not that I did anyway, but I'm not going to put sugar in my coffee or anything like that. I'm not going to have donuts, which I always have. Like, I probably have three or four donuts a week. And that's not even like... If crispy cream drops off a dozen, Dan will punish three.
Starting point is 00:07:28 on his own easy. And that's the thing what happened yesterday so we got some donuts delivered. Meg had it. I had four in succession. Boom, boom, boom, boom,
Starting point is 00:07:34 four donuts. And then I said, I'm just not gonna, now Meg. Now you need a bit of temptation. Holy crap. When'd you get all this stuff from you? Oh, that's the stuff from me.
Starting point is 00:07:41 So Meg's just put that Whitaker's gumdrop stuff in front of me, which I've wanted to try and I haven't tried it yet. I have a stash for any new bodies have it a bad day. Some M&M's, some Malteseers. Now, you know what?
Starting point is 00:07:51 Normal, Dan would go yum, yum, yum, but you Dan goes yuck. Okay, so we're not asking you to eat it and break. We'll just leave it there for the rest of the show. I just want to know if your autopilot has been disabled. I know he really likes those peanut Eminem's glint there is grip tonight. What I would like to see is Meeks, obviously, got them in the bags.
Starting point is 00:08:11 I put them in a little bowl. Yeah, I want them to be easily accessible, and they just sit near you, and I just want to see if your autopilot actually does or doesn't work. It's almost like I've already been cured, because I look at them and I go, yeah. But that's because he's not hungry because I saw him Uberie's McDonald's at 5.30 this morning. You've got to replace one twice with another.
Starting point is 00:08:33 Clint Meg and Dan. Stinky Boo. Clint McG and Dan's scandal. In scandal, Tom Holland spoke about the movies that always make him cry. What movie always makes Tom cry? I have no idea. He's very emotional.
Starting point is 00:08:47 These are really hard questions, well, like I don't think I know the answer. You definitely do know the answer, but it is Singh. and it is about time. I cried during sing. Sing too. Whether the lion does you too and then, oh God, you're like time. I don't know, no.
Starting point is 00:09:06 You just say it's by man. And Kim Kardashian has launched a new guesses, boys. Oh, is it like a skims thing? No, is it? Guess each. What's her in her business? A lawyer base.
Starting point is 00:09:17 No. Okay, it's a like type of Merkin or something. No, no, no, it's a brand new business. Brank new business. What's she going into? She's already done skim. She's done makeup, she's done lingerie. Alcohol.
Starting point is 00:09:28 No. Hats. Energy drink. Of course she has. Who hasn't got an energy drink? She said, get your ass up and work. This is not what I pictured. She actually said to get your phone.
Starting point is 00:09:42 Did she even ever pass the bar? No. I didn't pass the bar. I raised it. The drink is called Update. It's a caffeine-free functional beverage, powered by something called Parazanthine. It features zero.
Starting point is 00:09:58 sugar, zero calories, zero caffeine, designed to provide steady focus without the jitters or crashes of traditional energy drinks. That sounds like it's going to give you cancer. Imagine being... Not a great word, is it? Parazanthine. Imagine being so famous, though, that it doesn't matter what you start it will make you millions.
Starting point is 00:10:15 It's got a Kim Kardashian's name. It'll work. You know, Prime, was it Logan Paul? Or the other one? Yeah, Logan Paul, and he ended up getting Prime. I read an article yesterday that like prime in Australasia, it was making something like 35 million, and now they're literally 8 million in debt
Starting point is 00:10:33 because no one's buying it anymore. Maybe that's what we need to get into, the Clint Meg and Dan energy drink. God, we could sell it, it would sell like hotcakes. Can we just get Musashi's? The edge. Climegad.
Starting point is 00:10:43 Put our name on that, it's a good one. Actually, speaking of that, yeah, can we get a musashi? Oh, yeah, there's a can left. Okay, good. Maybe we could just get a flavor of musashi named after us. Like it tastes like a little bit like regret. Like peach.
Starting point is 00:10:55 Yeah. We'll call it Petrograt. Clint, Megan Dan First call of the day. First call of the day. Now, the first call of the day today is one of our faves.
Starting point is 00:11:09 Danny Al, good morning. Good day, Denny. Hi, guys. How are we? Yeah, buddy good. Good. Good. We haven't spoken to you
Starting point is 00:11:18 and I'd say, what, maybe two weeks. Would that be? Yeah, but we haven't been here for two weeks, Dan. Yeah, true, true, true. I've missed you guys so much. I've missed you all. The cow's done great, but...
Starting point is 00:11:30 Who would you say you miss the most? Who's your favourite? Oh, here we go. Oh, I can't choose. No, but you have to. You have to. Unfortunately, we're all going to die if you don't choose one, and you get to save one.
Starting point is 00:11:45 You have to get to see. We're all hanging off a cliff. Oh, no, because then she'll choose me because I'm a mum. Take kids and stuff out of it. No, we're all parents. Yeah, no. She'll choose me. I'm a dad.
Starting point is 00:11:53 Just just just... No. Okay, let's assume. We're not dying because she will pick me, I know that. Okay, let's assume that we don't have kids and it's just on personal. Okay, okay, we don't die, but another radio show can only afford to buy two of us. Who do you hope they can't afford and gets to stay? Oh, no, I genuinely, guys, because you all three of you,
Starting point is 00:12:14 I checked last week too and I said, I've come to the conclusion that every other station is bloody boring. You three just all work together so well. But if it had to be one of us. But it's Dan, is it? You're about to be banned from listening. Dan is... You have to choose.
Starting point is 00:12:29 Dan's one of them. Okay, but who's your face? Dan is one of them. Oh. It's Dad. It might be Dan, but it's me. You've made my day. You really have made my day.
Starting point is 00:12:48 I can't believe you've made me do this. That's fine. It's fine with you kids. And look at Megan Clint falling to their deaths. Yeah, yeah, cool. Thanks, Teddy. I have my kids growing up without a dad. What I know, Daniel, would be really happy to know that hit the spot is coming back at 8 this morning as well with Dan.
Starting point is 00:13:03 I am so excited about that. You're going to nail it, Friends version. Yeah, it's the Friends theme at 8 o'clock this morning. I'm nervous because it's one of those ones that he thinks easy, because everybody knows the theme of Friends. But it's actually quite tricky timing-wise, so hopefully we can do it at 8 o'clock. Yeah, you've got this. You've got it.
Starting point is 00:13:20 You've got it. Also, as well, tickets gone out after 8 o'clock for Long Distance Bestie Island, which I think I actually think secretly is going to sell out very, very quickly. Well, it's very limited spots, so I really hope so. Yeah, and it's one of the ones like, oh, you think about it, I think about it being done. Go on, boom.
Starting point is 00:13:37 All right, well, 8 o'clock this morning they go on sale. Otherwise, the website is up now. Bestie Island.com.n-Z, B-E-S-T-I-E-E-I-E-E-E-E-E-E-E. That's got all the information if you're still sitting there going, I kind of missed what they were talking about. Everything you need to know is there with the countdown. Up next, the Reverend, I asked the producers when I got on this morning,
Starting point is 00:13:55 He said, oh, what is that? I need to be across that. I had to ask yesterday, yep. And they turned around and said, oh, it's a Dan idea. So Meg, you've actually been a part of it. I have an out of 10, just as a tease. How good is it? Nine.
Starting point is 00:14:07 Nine? I think you'll love it. That's incredible. Wow, okay. It's next on the edge. Clint, Meg and Dan. We're about to play this brand new game. First time I've ever played.
Starting point is 00:14:13 Meg says it's a nine out of ten idea from Dan. It's new. And Dan just said, as I came out of the song, I don't do motorbikes. Yeah, wow. If you've got a car, give it a rev. it's time for the reverend. It was quite funny yesterday, Clint, because Dan was like, oh, is there an intro? I didn't know it.
Starting point is 00:14:31 I'm like, you voiced it. So I found out I've got a little bit of a hidden talent. The last two days in a row, I've had callers call up, rev their vehicle live on air, and I've guessed what make of car it is. Yeah. This is your sprinkle of autism. I feel like it is my sprinkle of autism coming through. I think I've got a couple of tablespoons, if I'm honest.
Starting point is 00:14:52 This is, I think, where this is, I think, where. the tires hit the tarmac if I use a car analogy there. I think three from three, we're working with a proper talent. I agree. Completely. We were playing with James this morning. Hi James. Morning James.
Starting point is 00:15:06 Hey, there you go. James and Christchurch. Are you ready to rev? I am. Dan, what are the rules? Do you get three questions? Two questions? I think I get a couple of questions. Let's say three max. Okay, that's three. Okay. I think a couple can be three. I thought there were no questions.
Starting point is 00:15:22 I thought he just heard the rev. Oh, that would be much more impressive clue. Okay, well, let's hear the rev. And then every question, sorry, every time you ask for a clue, it becomes less and less impressive. How come when you've come back, he's making it for all these rules? All right, James, here we go. Revy car. Yep.
Starting point is 00:15:38 All right, reving. Yep. Oh, I couldn't really hear. Any chance you could put your phone out of the window? Did you hear that or so I'd do it again? Yeah, give it a bigger rev, like a real... Oh, it sounded big... Yeah.
Starting point is 00:15:53 All right, hang on with here. Oh How's that? One more, one more It's getting less impressive Oh, thank you very much James That's all you get, Dan Oh, okay
Starting point is 00:16:11 So do you need any questions? Okay, yes It is a car, isn't it, James? It's a vehicle Oh, it's a van Or a bus I reckon it's a bus No, Meg's more impressive than you so far
Starting point is 00:16:29 Yeah, because it sounds to me like a truck or it doesn't sound like a car. So I think I'm leaning towards a truck. Am I right there, James? Yeah. Okay. Okay, good. Okay, so I've got... But he was a little wary about the year, Dan.
Starting point is 00:16:47 Take that into account. He was like, yeah, it's a truck. Are there any trucks that aren't trucks, Dan? Do you know something? No, I don't. I'm trying to help you. Oh, okay. Well, it's not your talent.
Starting point is 00:16:56 It's like, I'm Batman and Robbins going, should we do this? Robin's like, can I shoot the thing into the building? I'm trying to help you. Okay, I was back out. You can sit there and go, hmm, hum, hum, stop trying to steal the next three minutes. Stop trying to steal Batman's thunder, Robin.
Starting point is 00:17:10 Go on. Okay, I'm going to say, you're driving. Yes. Oh, no more questions. Well, I guess I could say what sort of work is this vehicle used for? That's what I'm going to ask. Roading. Oh, okay, so if it's a roadworks truck,
Starting point is 00:17:27 we're talking either Mitsubishi or. or Hino. Which one? Yeah, you can't try it. I don't think I've ever seen a roadworks truck that's not a Hino or a Mitsubishi. Okay, so which one?
Starting point is 00:17:39 I'm going to lean towards the more common option. I'm going to say you're revving right now, James, a Hino Roadworks truck. Yeah, it's a Hino's so bad. It's three from three. I'm an Avenger!
Starting point is 00:17:57 I'm an Avenger! And that's all right. Okay, Dan glises is all core points. That's about a cup of autism. With this weird little like T-Rex hands. And then he's jumping up and down like he's a bunny rabbit. Well, good on you, Dan. I think I'm full-blown autism now.
Starting point is 00:18:12 I don't think I can get any less. Wow, thank you, James. That is three from three. My goodness me. Thank you, James, for taking time out of your busy day to pump up dance tires. Yeah, well done. My goodness me. That, I think this could be cruising straight towards 8 a.
Starting point is 00:18:28 Matt was wrong. Matt turned around and said that's a turbo high-lux diesel. That was too deep for a high-lux. Oh God, don't act like you knew completely. Marlon had Sabaru locked in and James just text... Sorry, Jess just texting caps. The King. Sorry, I'm glad it didn't go with Marilyn because she was way off. Okay, coming up next. The person who's going to be a crush of New Zealand, $5,000 thanks to Canadian crush coming up.
Starting point is 00:18:52 How amazing, eh? You get a phone call before 7 a.m. You're saying you $5,000 richer. Right before the weekend. and it's because you're such a nice guy. Oh, someone's textery saying I'm calling bullshit on this segment, to be honest. No. No, you know what? It's 100% legit.
Starting point is 00:19:06 Obviously they are giving me a few answers. Wait, what? You mean? Well, he was like it's... Answer to clues. Yeah, to clues. Got it I haven't been a part of this this week in the lead-up because it's a really epic prize. Someone's about to win $5,000 going into the weekend because Canadian Club,
Starting point is 00:19:24 alongside us here at the edge of being searching for the edge's biggest crush. Thanks to their new release of Canadian Club, sorry, Canadian Club Lemon Crush. Yeah, we've spoken to the finalists this week. Some really high-quality dudes. Yeah, there was Seb, there was sad, there was Snow. All the S's. Snow?
Starting point is 00:19:41 Yeah, Snow. Snow. What a name. I know, Clint. Real name given to him to birth. Real name given to him. And he said that he used to get bullied for it, but he likes it now. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:50 Snow Jackson. That sounds like one of those, like, crime novel characters. Yeah. You know, he's like Snow Jackson in. Fantastic name. The killing fields. Yeah, so we've talked to some really great guys. Most of them, I think, the kind of running theme is how giving they are to their families and the communities.
Starting point is 00:20:07 And this person was voted for the most. So we're going to give them a call and let you know the good news. Yeah, I think they stood out to most people that were listening as a just a genuine GC, a good person. A GC, a good person. A good. A good. A good caller. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:27 Good morning, Spanish speaking. Hi, Sebastian. This is Clint McGee, Dan. We're just letting you know that you are the winner of Canadian Club's biggest crush in New Zealand. You are kidding me. 5,000 bucks, brother! 500 big,000 big ones. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:20:45 $5,000, big ones. Oh, my gosh. I can't believe it, guys. Thank you so much. You're welcome. If you didn't get to catch up with Seb, Sebastian, we'll always do the right thing for anyone, apparently, without thinking twice. and he makes, when life gives him lemons, he makes lemonade for the community.
Starting point is 00:21:01 Yeah. Well, nuts. Oh, God. I can't wait. You know what? The thing that won it for you, I think, was the incredible daffy dark impersonation you can do. Give it another run for us because it is uncanny. For five big ones, you got it.
Starting point is 00:21:21 I feel like Clems is kind of. Thanks, Dan. Thanks, Sam. Okay. Sebastian, thank you so much. She must have done other things. There, yeah. There was other stuff.
Starting point is 00:21:30 A big... Thank you so much, guys. Thank you to Rosie as well for nominating you. So she must be very proud to be able to call you the New Zealand's biggest crush. So who's Rosie?
Starting point is 00:21:38 Is that your partner? Yes, that's right. All right, will you be dipping into the five grand? I reckon doing something special for her, no doubt. Yeah, she'll be pissed off. It goes to your head and you leave her.
Starting point is 00:21:50 Yeah, true. I made it. The Canadian clubs and head to the bank. Yeah, make that Canadian club prize back into cash, chuck it on a pre-up. I got it. Sebastian, have a great weekend, okay?

Starting point is 00:23:49 Peach soap. Something to do with Cinderella. Pass. Something with buttons. Buttons? I haven't passed. A word with only one vowel. Poot
Starting point is 00:24:04 A band with more than three members Party poppers Time, that is time Nicky Oh my God, you started well I got a bit I got a bit locked Yeah
Starting point is 00:24:17 A word with only one vowel Did you say poot? Or poop I said poo Poohs Poohs? Poohs? Poohs?
Starting point is 00:24:26 I mean it's got one It's got one They're passing out of that way Yeah, it was good one I thought you might have got pants For something with buttons Ah yeah It was a good start, Nicky, but then the wheels fell off, unfortunately, and turned to poos after that.
Starting point is 00:24:39 Yeah. Yeah. Thanks, Nicky. Yeah, sorry, Nicky. Next time, next time. Fun jam with you anyway, Nicky. Have a bloody good Friday. Enjoy the weekend.
Starting point is 00:24:47 Back again to 8 o'clock if you want to crack at it. 10 correct zones in 30 seconds, we'll give you a thousand bucks. Yeah. Join by Laura McGulrick next. Sports presenter, legendary broadcaster. And we're doing to be talking about a whole load of sport this weekend. Yeah, Commonwealth Games have kicked off. So, FIFA World Cup's out.
Starting point is 00:25:04 Commonwealth Games are in, so she's going to be busy in Scotland for the next week while, and hopefully we managed to take away some medals, so we'll find out what the go is. Clint Megan Dan's. It's Clint Megan Dan's Sport Roundup with Laura McGoldrick. She is the busiest person in television, radio, any type of media. Laura McGoldrick, good morning. We have got to come up with a new intro. I know we really do. Hi. In fact, I saw you're on the TV. I don't even know what game you're covering. Honestly, I just know
Starting point is 00:25:35 Guy was watching something, he goes, there's your girl. Yeah, there she is again. Sorry about that, guys. I really am coming in hot at the moment. It's great. Yeah, good. I love it. I love it when I turn on TV and there's your face. I know I'm in safe hands before I was presenting. Now, this is a great week to be talking to you because it's a smorgasbord of sport this week.
Starting point is 00:25:53 Corrimulmouth games. You've got the Warriors. Who are the Warriors playing? Who are the Warriors playing? Is it the Bulldogs this weekend? The Warriors are playing the Bulldogs. That's right. Then we've got the Super Rugby O-Picky Final, which is huge. My Matatatoo. It's taking on the blues at Takaha, one New Zealand stadium down in Christchurch. We broke a record there in terms of attendance at a female game last time that they played there. So fingers crossed, Kaylee Bell is going to be performing at the halftime show.
Starting point is 00:26:19 So that's pretty hot as well. So you want to wrap your laughing gear around that on Saturday afternoon. I'm really excited for the Commonwealth Games kicked off yesterday over in Glasgow. Is there anybody, any standouts that we're really looking for this year? Oh, look, I think it's, it's, it's, it's, it's cool. And we're really lucky to have it this year, because I don't know if you guys remember, like, a couple of years ago. We've been two years ago now.
Starting point is 00:26:39 Mel, we're like, hey, guys, look, we might have bitten off a bit more we could chew here, so we won't be able to host the Com games. And so Glasgow has hauled us, and they have now got a NASCAR that has got a road cone involved in it, because I don't know if you guys saw much during the Football World Cup, but the Scottish kept trying to put road cones on all the different statues. And everyone's like, what the hell's going on here? Well, that's now part of the mascot for the Com Games, which I really respect. This is a drunken mascot.
Starting point is 00:27:07 Anyway, so the ones we should be looking out for, are your usual suspects in the pool, Erica, Lewis Cleabert as well, the Silver Spurns I have really high hopes for. You know, Netball, New Zealand's been going through a bit at the moment, and I think that might galvanise the gals over there. I'm really excited for that. There's lots going on. Tom Walsh, again with a shot put, watch it all. And my show, I don't want to brag, but I think my show, I have Dame Sophie Pascoe.
Starting point is 00:27:32 go alongside me and she, you know, she spits back. That woman knows a thing or two about how to win medals, that is for sure. And finally, obviously, we can't talk about sport without not talking about the Warriors this weekend. We must be getting close to the playoffs, right? That's what everyone thinks. It is the longest season in the history of the season. No, we're not.
Starting point is 00:27:52 We've still got another month to go. But we are doing very well. Take on the Bulldogs. That's 7.30 on Sky Sports 1 if you want to watch that. And it'll be a good game. It'll be a really good game. and I feel good about the lives at the moment. Good on you, Laura.
Starting point is 00:28:05 Thanks so much for joining us. We really appreciate your knowledge on sport coming on every Friday. Have a great weekend. You'll be busy. Great. Okay, love you, guys. Thanks, Laura. Bye.
Starting point is 00:28:15 Bye. The Clint Meg and Dan podcast. Vince Mc's birthday today, obviously. And it appeared earlier that we may have forgotten. Oh, I wish I could have played you the audio of what I just heard for the past three minutes of these two getting angry at each other. They tried to remember a parody song they did for me about three years ago, because they forgot it was either my birthday
Starting point is 00:28:34 or International Women's Day then, so then they wrote a song because they forgot about it, and now they try to find it from three hours ago because they forgot my birthday. Oh, this could be a fresh song. I found the lyrics we wrote to it. Okay, because I thought I found it, because I was like, oh, song for Meg, Clint and Dan.
Starting point is 00:28:50 Shut up, Meg, shut up, Matt. Not it. I found the lyrics we wrote for it, Meg, and this, I'm just going to read it out to as a poem. Oh, good. So how many years old, Dan? This was... We're 2023.
Starting point is 00:29:01 You must be able to find it. You've got nothing nice about me since then. Okay. We sit across from you every morning. Just got distracted by your beauty again. This doesn't rhyme at all. Guys. It can't be okay.
Starting point is 00:29:20 We'll find the song. How are we so ugly, yet you're so fine. Because when God made you, he took a sweet time. Sweet time, oh. Yeah, I think we did it to the... The script. Yeah, to the tune of the script break even. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:35 The show is always you and what are we supposed to say when you're so great and Dan's okay? Yeah. Thank you so much, boys. This is really special. Yeah. You're welcome. Yeah, thank you. We'll find it.
Starting point is 00:29:56 Don't bother. One thing from the producers today is to find that. If anything is therefore for not being able to find this. Yeah. And look, you know what, Clint, reading back on the lyrics, It wasn't our best work. I think he rushed it. It was a rush.
Starting point is 00:30:13 It was a rush. I think it was the morning off. It would be nice. Let us know. Not that we have forgotten, because obviously we could still surprise Meg with something and show her that this whole time we were pretending that we'd forgotten. What happened when you forgot, like a close friend or partner's birthday? What did you do to rectify the situation and make things right?
Starting point is 00:30:32 Yeah. I think Lisa's got it bang on. She's just got leverage now. She's got something on us. Because we were squeaky cling before. all this Clint. Now she's got something she can leverage.
Starting point is 00:30:45 You know, she can forget our birthdays this year. Yeah, mine's already gone. Yeah, I don't remember that. Yeah, and I think after you turn 50, you sort of forget birthdays. I'm not 50, in fact, Meg, oh, I shouldn't even say. She got me one of the greatest gifts that I've ever received. For my 40th, it was a signed
Starting point is 00:31:04 poster by all four actors in Cool Runnings, my favourite movie. And she got in touch with, uh, Junior Bevel, one who trips the other the other two at the start. You know, an actual actor from the movie in the 90s. It's his, it was from his wardrobe.
Starting point is 00:31:17 Yeah, after a movie, they got to collect some memorabilia and this was one of two things he still had. And it's all framed and signed by all of them and is literally in my bedroom. And you've got a reheated parody song you can't even find on the system. We? We got on that, but not just me. I am online buying a something
Starting point is 00:31:33 now, Clint. The Clint Meg and Dan podcast. You've heard the rumors. Are we being? studied at Oxford University level without our knowledge. I don't know if you have heard the rumours because first we're talking about it. Unless that girl that's doing the studies told you which would be really weird. Yeah, that's crazy coincidence.
Starting point is 00:31:54 Yeah, I got a message from Natalie. It's actually weirdly been deleted. So now I'm wondering if I dreamed it originally. But she messaged out of the blue. She didn't follow me. It was in my like requests. And it said, hi Meg. I'm Natalie.
Starting point is 00:32:06 I'm in, let me see if I. Oh, no, here it is. Oxford student assignment inquiry. Hi Meg. I am writing as a student of the University of Oxford. I've just completed a course in the business of entertainment and media and I've chosen to write my final paper on your show. Would you be willing to have a 15-minute chat with me?
Starting point is 00:32:23 Or is there anybody else on the team that would be willing? I'm guessing your schedule is packed. Nah. But I appreciate it. Cheers. I came literally instantly back and I was like, can do it today. I was like so keen. So just a bit of context on Oxford University.
Starting point is 00:32:37 Go on. Go on. I just googled it. And it just says, Oxford University is one of the very best top-tier universities in the world. In fact, it holds the top spot in the Times highest education world university rankings, above places like the ones in America, the big ones.
Starting point is 00:32:55 So this is how little I thought of our show. Even though I read that and she said Oxford twice, I still assumed she meant somewhere in Dunedin. And so I went to a guy and my husband was like, Oxford in like England And I was like, I don't know And I went to her page and sure enough, there she is Looking like she's in Hogwarts
Starting point is 00:33:12 So it's had 30 UK Prime Ministers, 26 Nobel Prize winners that have gone there Stephen Hawking went there Oscar Wilde went there So this is the person Wait, the guy who does the glasses No, that's Oscar Wiley It's different
Starting point is 00:33:28 It's such a weird name to end with No, Oscar Wilde's the one that was like I don't know what he did to be fair He seems very well. How many people get into talk? There's only 8,000 students a year that get in from the world, which is pretty impressive. Okay, and so you caught up with her after the show yesterday
Starting point is 00:33:45 to find out that if this, to make sure there wasn't a prank and to work out how she managed to land on our show to study for her very last thesis. Sorry, I was around 3,000 that get in a year. Anyway, yes, we got to speak to her, not you, Clinch. Sorry. I just finished up a media, the business of media and entertainment. So I'm an MBA student at Oxford. Right now we're wrapping up.
Starting point is 00:34:07 And so this is one of my last courses, and we just studied like various forms of media and entertainment and the business. And so our assignment is to pick a media company that's under $2 billion evaluation. And then the caveat was it could not be United States or UK-based. I knew of your radio show via TikTok. Via the Michael Jackson hit the spot. Hit the spot full circle. And it's back at 8 this morning.
Starting point is 00:34:31 I know. Yeah, it was like quite uncanny that she brought. that up and we're bringing it back. An MBA student from Oxford. I thought she said an NBA and I was like she's also a basketballer. Oh my God, imagine if we've gone, oh, you're studying basketball. We would have looked so dumb. In fact, Dan, Ophi was saying the UMIG and Dan sounded really quite intelligent throughout
Starting point is 00:34:50 that chat. We gave some really intelligent answers. I thought, well, God damn, we were amazing, I must say. I was talking about the state of media in the world. Oh, God, I was good. Really? Yeah. Oh, God, yes.
Starting point is 00:35:01 We were, and we gave each other. It was brilliant, I think. We sounded very intelligent. So you're quite a smart fellow? Where are you going? All right. Could you say, one smart fellow, he felt smart? One felt smello, no.
Starting point is 00:35:15 One fart, smello, no. One smart fellow. Oh, it doesn't, just because I can't do a tongue twister. Doesn't mean I can't go to my meeting university? Proof it. One smart fellow, he felt smart. One fart smello, too. One smart fellow, he's smart fella.
Starting point is 00:35:31 The Clint Meg and Dan podcast. I've had some great success at home over the last couple of weeks with potty training. To the point... Are you nailing it? That made it sound like it was me. Good for you, buddy. No, my son, George, who is two. He is finally now going to the toilet on the potty and holding it.
Starting point is 00:35:50 That's nice that it's early. Wow. Yeah, yeah. Oh, God, he's smart me. Oh, Apple doesn't fall too far from the tree, I guess. And so we've decided to award him with a toy. We said if you can start doing it on the toilet, we'll get you a toy. and his request was mater from cars.
Starting point is 00:36:06 He's obsessed with the tow truck from cars. And so I said, leave it with me. I'll buy a mater toy when you've started going to the potty. It's come to that time. And I couldn't find for the life of me anywhere a made a toy. So I went online and I found one on trade me for 50 bucks. Oh, bloody hell. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:36:25 And I ordered it. I was like, this is the only one I can find. I'm going to have to pay the money. So I ordered it. Is it a big one? It arrived yesterday. In fact, you witnessed it, Meg. I paid $50 and it arrived, and it's like a hot oil size,
Starting point is 00:36:37 like matchbox toy size, like tiny. In fact, I have exactly the same one at home for my kid. I'm like, oh, I know those toys. Did it not have anything else in the picture for scale? No, no, they didn't have a picture of today's newspaper or something next to it. No, no. It was just like the picture of like the inside. You know, if it was out of the packaging, so you can't really tell how big it is.
Starting point is 00:36:54 Yeah, it looked bigger than it was anyway. So it arrived, and I was a little bit disappointed. I turned over the back of the packet. and had a farmer's sticker on the back. So it had been purchased from farmers for $12.99. And so I've looked into it. I've gone back onto this person's page. And essentially what it looks like they're doing,
Starting point is 00:37:15 and it's smart. They're going to farmers. Buying the sale items. And buying items on sale from the toy section and then reselling them online for extramently, is that a word? Exuberant. Exuberant, hiked up cost on trade.
Starting point is 00:37:31 me, 50 bucks, and it was $12 originally. Exponentially high price. For suckers like you that had Pottie trending their kids and promising mated toys. Yeah, and they've got a range of like toys, cars stuff, toy story stuff, a lot of Disney, and they're just reselling it from farmers.
Starting point is 00:37:47 Smart side hustle. I follow a guy who has an Instagram page about like sketchy ways, like morally questionable ways to make money. And one way he makes money is he goes into op shops that sell like big pieces of furniture, let's say there was one, for example, was $95.
Starting point is 00:38:04 He takes photos of them, then goes and puts them on Facebook marketplace. Smart. And if he gets a bite for, say, two or three hundred bucks, he then goes back to the op shop to make sure they still have it, and then he buys it for $95 from the op shop, and then he goes and drops it off at the person's house for $300. Very clever. Yeah, but so what if it has been sold? Well, I guess if it's sold, then he just has to be like, oh, sorry, man, someone's already
Starting point is 00:38:26 picked it up. Wow, that's crazy. And effectively, the op shop is just holding the product. for him while he goes and finds a buyer who's going to pay more money. So essentially he's really drop shipping in a way because they're holding it. He doesn't have to hold any stock. He's just having to do the heavy lifting of shopping around. It's smart, but I couldn't sleep at night.
Starting point is 00:38:43 Especially with the obshots, when it's like a charity shop anyway. So you're just hustling money from them. I thought about that. I was like, well, the op shop still making the $95 that they want to. You just found somebody else who's willing to pay more and you're doing the admin of picking it up. I know, but I'll tell that person to be like, mate, sat there op shop for $95. Oh, then you'd make money. I know, I'm an idiot.
Starting point is 00:39:00 No, that's why you're not as rich as these people mean. I waited under the edge, Text 33343, what is your side hustle? That you can recommend to people and say, I'm earning good money from this. Clint, Meg and Dan. Oh, my gosh. I got stitched up by a side hustler over the last couple of days. I purchased something on Trade Me that he had originally purchased from farmers for 1299. He charged me 50 on Trade Me.
Starting point is 00:39:23 Price of demand, though. You said you looked everywhere and couldn't find him made a toy from cars, so maybe he realizes that. Yeah. I think there are people that are really smart with that out there where even though, you know, the merch would have all come out when the cars' movies came out. But it disappears when we have new movies come out and they kind of go in the distance.
Starting point is 00:39:42 But kids still start watching them. As you said, he has only just discovered cars, so to him it's new. And it's smart because I looked into it. And apparently stores like farmers, the warehouse, all those, they don't necessarily catalog their small toys, like the matchbox cars. So you have to go in store to find them. And quite often they're not in store. So he's just making it easier for you to buy them, but charging you a markup.
Starting point is 00:40:03 A lot of people don't want to share their side hustle because rightly so, then other people start doing it. There's less piece of the pie for them. Yeah, that's fair. Well, Kristen will share one though. Your sister-in-law? Yeah, what's she doing to earn a little extra cash, Kristen? Oh, me, yeah. So my sister-in-law and her partner are making planter boxes.
Starting point is 00:40:25 So he is a tradie and gets the polystyrene. or cheap, if not free, and then gets plaster and kind of like just puts them together into different shapes. He's done multi-tier ones and all of that and sells them all throughout the South Island. He's even like gone up to Nelson and gone down to Dunedin and had travel and accommodation paid for and he's selling it for like a couple hundred bucks. That's smart because I think if you have access, like for them, their case, polystyrene and you can get it for cheap or free, then obviously you're going to make a profit because you don't have
Starting point is 00:40:57 the overhead costs. I see a lot of people doing furniture restoration where they'll find a crappy piece of furniture that you honestly would find on the side of the road and then they go and get a sand around and buff it all up and lacquer it out and you go, oh my God,
Starting point is 00:41:09 and they sell it for ten times what they might have picked it up for unless they got it for nothing. But there's still a lot of work involved in doing that. True. Thanks for you call, Chris. A lot of... I've seen a list here of the top three side hustles. One of them is teaching.
Starting point is 00:41:25 So on the sides where I guess you're a guitar and good at guitar or good at an instrument. Tutoring, I guess. Drop shipping is number one. So apparently going online, buying things and then selling them on, I guess, like this person's doing. Do they have to add their own label to it if you drop ship? Like you have your own label and you just like get the product,
Starting point is 00:41:45 whack your label on and send off? Or are they just literally buying a product and then selling it on exactly as they bought it for, but just for a market? A lot of the time you're getting it really cheap out of China. So say it's like dog sleeping baskets. you're buying them for like at $1 a unit and then selling them on on Facebook or Instagram for $20 a unit.
Starting point is 00:42:03 And you don't even need to have the stock here or anything. No, you don't. You just order buying it. Why don't we do that? You can't. Honestly, that's what it comes down to for me. I reckon I just can't. It takes a lot of time.
Starting point is 00:42:15 You've got to be on the whole time. But it doesn't. If you have it set up right, you don't actually have to do anything. You just set up the ad and then set and forget and then you just make the money. They do all the shipping, everything. Why don't we do that then?
Starting point is 00:42:26 Because you're rich enough, Clint. Clint, Megan Dan. Oh my gosh. Three past eight on your Friday. You have more details about Bestie Island because tickets are on sale right now. But a little bit of admin to you to first. We've got your chance to win $1,000 with easy money.
Starting point is 00:42:43 Ten correct dancers in 30 seconds, starting with the letter that Meg gives you. We'll score you the cash. Good morning, Andy. Hey, morning, Andy. Hey, morning, Andy. Good morning, Andy. Now, we haven't had a winner all week. $1,000 could be yours this morning.
Starting point is 00:42:59 Are you ready, Andy? I was born ready. All right, we want to see you. Your letter this morning is WU. For win, win, win. True, yeah, okay. W is an easy one, because it's one of those rear letters. It's going to be a few, right?
Starting point is 00:43:13 I agree. All right, well, Andy, your time will start at the end of Meg asking you your first question. Good luck, bro. Here we go. Cheers. Give me something you can drink. Wine. A city in the world.
Starting point is 00:43:27 Wellington Something in a bedroom A water bottle An animal with four legs A walrus A superhero Wonder Woman A word to do with money
Starting point is 00:43:43 A small to white A sporting team A white fence A Taylor Swift song Time Time How many feet of warruses have Oh, it turns out.
Starting point is 00:44:00 I think they've got flippers. I don't have any legs. War, I was like, I'll let him go. It's Friday. And then I'll just do a checking case. Andy knows something I don't. Warisers do not have legs. Instead, they have four flippers,
Starting point is 00:44:12 two in the front and two in the back. Yeah, and also Walter White is something to do with money. I mean, it's creative. He made a lot of money from meth, so I guess you could. Yeah. He's got some cash, guys. Yeah. Yeah, you had some good answers and some really bad ones.
Starting point is 00:44:24 Sorry, by the Andy. Have a great weekend. Thanks for playing this morning for easy money. It's going to be back on Monday. Yeah, 7 a.m. All right, Bestie Island. Are you going to be there? Clint Megan Dan.
Starting point is 00:44:35 Stinky B. Long distance, Bestie Island. VG! It's happening. We're so excited about this. We want to put something together when we realized 250,000 besties are all over the world
Starting point is 00:44:48 a long distance and desperate to see their, I guess, their twin flame when it comes to their best mate. And everybody moves overseas and starts their lives and it gets really hard to see each other and it gets hard to organise
Starting point is 00:45:00 and so we wanted to create a space that you could do that. Return flights to Fiji, four nights accommodation, all island transfers, daily food and drinks package, including wine and beer. Yeah, including wine and beer as well.
Starting point is 00:45:12 Everything included, your breakfast, lunch and your dinner, professional photos of you and your best mate because I'm pretty sure nearly every best friend duo for some reason don't have photos in their phone together. And activities as well that you can opt in and out of with us. Yeah, so we've been talking about it all week. Now you can officially sign up. So if you text Best Deeder 3343, it will take you to a page.
Starting point is 00:45:29 You hit register here. And then I think essentially you need to pay a $500 deposit, right? And then it's secured. Yeah, it's secured. You can either do the rest in kind of a full payment closer to the time or you can pay it off in installments, bestie island.com. It's just one of those ones where you're like, oh, we need to catch up. Oh, we definitely need to catch up.
Starting point is 00:45:48 I've been saying the same with a couple of my guy mates, ones in Wonguna with the others in Sydney. And it's just, it just needs somebody to organise something. Yes. And if you haven't, then we're like, we'll organise it. something. Yeah, we have done the organising for you. It is literally the only thing you have to figure out is that you've got your visas, you've got a passport and you have to
Starting point is 00:46:05 pay for your food for one day on the first day on the island. That's it. Everything else is done. Two favorite things I'm looking forward to. Go on. That first Vonu Tower at Beachcombe Island, when we get on the island and we hand it the Vonu Tower and pour our first beer in. Cliff, we're working. It would be top five beers.
Starting point is 00:46:21 Pouring one from a tower on an island in Fiji. It's top five beers. One of the others is probably. like airport beer. You know when we're like about to leave and we're in the Kottori lounge or something? And you know what? The good thing is I announced this morning that I've given up sugar. So I'm going to have abs by October.
Starting point is 00:46:36 Yeah. And the other exciting thing is actually the moment that we reunite these besties. And I think we should do like the TV show. Stop, I've already said that. I said I'm the only yesterday. Clint's not here but he would be saying this. When we go and action. And then they both turn around, see each other and there's run
Starting point is 00:46:53 across like. Oh, they cry. There's tears. Oh, it's going to be a great moment. I have been told that we've already had the first two besties purchased their package. They're already in a few minutes ago. Madeline and her bestie Lily are going. Exciting. They're locked in. They can just sit there and just here.
Starting point is 00:47:09 You've got your boarding pass because we're going to be taken off October. So it's like less than three months ago. Don't sleep on this either. I reckon if you wanted to do it, get in now. And it's only a 500 deposit. So then you just pay the rest. I think if you're both in New Zealand, it's essentially $2,900, right, to get there total. So it's cheap.
Starting point is 00:47:26 It's the cheapest you'll be able to get a package like that. with everything included. You can always make more money. Can't make more time. We just gave you a list of side hustles. Yeah. You could pay the 500 now and then start a side hustle to pay for the rest. Sebastian 5,000 bucks.
Starting point is 00:47:40 It's just before 7 this morning. We're giving you a chance to win a thousand bucks every morning at 7 and 8. You can put that towards it. A lot of people misspelling Bestie as well. Someone said B-E-S-T-I-E. Yeah. Bestie Island. Maybe we'll make sure the bounce back covers all spelling mistakes.
Starting point is 00:47:55 We'll get on to that. Making a bigger splash with D. course, events to remember from the name you'll never forget. Really excited they've put on an incredible trip for us. It's going to be cool. Clint, Meg and Dan. Very special day today, isn't it? Very, very, yes it is. Very special.
Starting point is 00:48:11 Why would that be, Dan? Well, I was informed. No, no. We knew the whole time that today, 24th of July, is Meg's birthday, she's 36 today. And you know how sometimes you can do that thing where you can either straight out of the gate, like,
Starting point is 00:48:28 Happy birthday or you go, let's let him think we've forgotten. Yeah, and I love doing that. And then let's hit him when they just think that we've forgotten with the surprise that we've had planned this whole time. Oh, you've had this surprise playing the whole time. You know what? We actually worked. When did we record this?
Starting point is 00:48:43 Well, Clint's been off sick a week. Yeah, well, you know what? Despite that, I still managed to liaise with Dan. Yeah. Flick him a couple emails. And for your birthday, Meg, we've laid down an appreciation song from us to you. you're welcome we sit across from you every morning
Starting point is 00:49:01 I'm just got distracted by her beauty again how are we so ugly while you're so damn fine because when God made you we took you sweet time sweet time I'm just an or a girl I just can't believe we get to work with her every day
Starting point is 00:49:52 I can't believe they pay us for it sing something else I'm pretty good but I ain't no me again wish we could swap paste So guys, you wrote that for me in 2003 when you also forgot my birthday then, I think. 24. No, that was International Woman's Day that we forgot that day.
Starting point is 00:50:12 But it still works, doesn't it, Clint? Because you did forget my birthday. If you missed it this morning, I had to tell you guys. It'd be a good song for a birthday. 24. 24. It's my birthday Today.
Starting point is 00:50:32 Yeah. Well that makes us all like dicks after we just played you a nice soul. Most people wouldn't have remembered we even wrote for you two years ago. Hey, there's some such thing as illusion on the radio. And you can do it. We just lost all of our credit points thanks to that. Hey, that end line doesn't make sense anyway because I earn more than Meg. Clint, Meg and Dan.
Starting point is 00:50:51 Have you seen the new Zuru toy, Kiwi company that is getting a lot of chat online at the moment for a controversial. doll. It's called the mini mum and baby surprise and the belly can be removed which shows a baby killed up in a ball inside a gel sack and then you can rip open the gel sack and reveal your doll's baby. Yeah. It's um and then you flip the tummy background to abs by the way. Yeah, yeah. You can just flip in a nice touch. That's what happens isn't it in real life? Someone actually said could you share the fitness routine? That'd be great. Ads after C-section down. It is, I mean, what I'm confused about with the doll is.
Starting point is 00:51:29 like obviously they're taking this very realistic side of like there's a baby in an amniotic sack and you know like that that is so realistic but then they do things like mold abs straight back on like you didn't need to do that you know what I mean like we've been realistic or not and also
Starting point is 00:51:44 it's just like pulling the whole tummy off I just don't understand the point of the thing in the end I'm probably overthinking it's just clearly not for me some people seem to me like it if it's used as an educational tool it's teaching nothing to the kid it's teaching them that you're
Starting point is 00:51:59 take the tummy off and pull the baby out the top and then put the tummy back on their abs. That's what it's teaching. Yeah, but they're trying to almost make it as realistic as possible, so I'm so confused by what the point is. It's funny because, yeah, the comments online, I need to get this for my daughter now that she's asking about where babies come from.
Starting point is 00:52:15 Now that I'm, wow, even Barbie bounced back faster after childbirth than I did. And then this one's saying children should be encouraged to enjoy their childhood, not introduced to adult roles and responsibilities through toys that they might not yet be mature enough to understand. I do think it will be a confusing thing. I must, like,
Starting point is 00:52:32 I think it's like, if it is for kids, and it's a little baby, and I think it's not a bad thing to be talking about, you know, I guess like the real terms of where babies come from, but it feels very, like, almost like, if you sit there as a little girl, you go, wait a second, you've got to pull my stomach off to get
Starting point is 00:52:49 a baby out. You know what I think. You know what I think? It's quite like a lot to take in. You know what I think's incredible, that they obviously haven't had the technology or the thing to make it actually come out through the vagina on a doll, which makes it more amazing that a woman can do it in real life. Where's for sec to be, Ken? Yeah. You don't have dilating Barbie.
Starting point is 00:53:09 You just rip his balls off. There we go. That'd sell out, I reckon. If you want to see the doll, just text doll to 3343, and you'll get the Instagram video that Zuru posted. And they've been getting a lot of chat online since the release. In fact, a lot of people being questioning I do as well, being like, is this a real? Dole? Is this legit? Or is this AI? What do we think? Cute or creepy?
Starting point is 00:53:32 Clint, Megan Dan. The internet's divided when it comes to the new... It looks like pregnant Barbie, but it's called the mini mum and baby surprise doll. Well, it's not an official Barbie, is it? It's the zero one. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:53:46 Hayden's just said, how about prostate check Ken? Now that's controversial. I still think it would be less controversial than this one than the Barbie. Yeah, Ken gets kind of left alone a bit. If you do want to check it out and just text doll to 3-3-4-3 and see what you think if you've got young ones and you think it's an educational
Starting point is 00:54:02 doll? For the prostate check, Ken, you could have a mechanism inside when you put the finger up, his eyes go cross-eyed. Dang! Ten! Producer Carl's guest quest. Okay, let's move on to something a little more wholesome. I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:54:18 In my head, it sounded less weird. Yeah, okay, go on. All right. We know what you like. Yeah. All right, our producer Carl's actually a way sick today. Everyone sort of drop like flies, you can catch in it. It's going around the country.
Starting point is 00:54:31 But here's the best, he's like a dog with a bone. When you give him a guest and you go, right, we start the clock, how long before you can get him on the show? He's the best in the game at it. Because I think his ADHD helps him there because he just hyper fixates. Yeah, it's true. I'd like to have this young lad, Samuel Henderson from Oklahoma on the show Monday, if we can get him.
Starting point is 00:54:50 Have you seen this guy? He's going viral because he's a 12-year-old boy who can mimic 114 different bird calls perfectly. Crazy, crazy, crazy skill. I'm going to play you a sound of a bird and you have to tell me if it's a real bird or if it's Sam, the 12-year-old boy.
Starting point is 00:55:08 Amazing. And if we're impressed enough by his skill, then maybe it's worth trying to get him on the show Monday. He can't be that good that he can literally mimic a bird. Okay, so I've got real sounds and fake ones. That's him. That's absolutely the boy. Yeah, 100%.
Starting point is 00:55:26 Okay. Okay. If I heard that outside my window, I'll call the police. Okay, I won't do it again then, maybe. I mean, so is by side when you got the real one, the background. Yeah, okay. But it's still okay. What about this one?
Starting point is 00:55:41 That's him as again. No, I think that's a real owl or whatever. I think it's him again. Dan, you're wrong. It's actually, Meg's right. It's the trooperable. It's the boy again. Oh, see, he got me there.
Starting point is 00:55:53 Okay. He's good at owls, I see. Yeah. No, that's a ringneck dump. Sorry. Oh, yes. Okay, this is the American woodcock. Real bird or 12 or a boy.
Starting point is 00:56:06 I think that's the boy. Yep, okay. Okay, okay. So you haven't painted a moon. Wait, but that's pretty good. Okay, this is... Okay, so that's a bird. Yeah, that's the woodcock, so it makes a very weird... Yeah, okay, well, that is a bird, so correct.
Starting point is 00:56:23 You've got it. Okay, right, this one. That's the boy. That's the boy again. Right, again, I'd be calling the cops. If I heard these, I wouldn't be going, that's a funny bird. That's good. That sounds like Lucy from the night shows laugh, I think.
Starting point is 00:56:41 Okay, all right, last one. That's a bird. Okay, that's a bird. You're pretty good at this guy. That was much more realistic. Yeah, because it's a bird, do you know? Oh, yeah, you've got all the ambience and, you know. Hey, Carla, I wouldn't bother with this one.
Starting point is 00:56:55 What about? Okay, last one. Fine. That's the boy. No, Shane, that's a real Duff, so we'll get him on on Monday. That was the boy, wasn't it? Yeah, it was the boy. Yeah, it was the boy.
Starting point is 00:57:11 Clint McGintaghan. This is probably long gone and should be done, but obviously because I've been always sick. I haven't had a chance to bring it to the table, and it's one of those things. Kind of like when you're thinking of a song and you only have a little line from a song, you can't work out what the song is,
Starting point is 00:57:24 and it drives you nuts. Oh, you hate that. And you can't stop thinking about it until you find out what it is, and then you can get on with your life. Okay. For me, it is this Spanish-speaking pilot who ended up pranking or trolling a bunch of Argentinian football fans
Starting point is 00:57:43 on a plane that he was flying. Does anyone who listens to our show speak Spanish who could call us and translate on the show live? I went under the edge. Surely you could get AI to do it. Just spit the video into AI. Actually, that's not... We don't use AI on the show, Dan.
Starting point is 00:57:58 We don't kill the plan out. Thank you very much. Okay, well, if no one who can speak Spanish calls, then producer Brady, if you could actually sort that out now, that'd be great, actually. Sorry, we last a few seconds. Yeah. Oh, we don't want to.
Starting point is 00:58:10 No, no, no, no. It's worth killing a couple of trees for, is that what you're saying? So the Football World Cup is over. Commonwealth Games is the next thing we get to sink our teeth into, which is officially, they had the opening ceremony this morning at 6 a.m. Yeah, beautiful. And I think it's a watered-down version this time, because obviously Australia was supposed to host it,
Starting point is 00:58:27 then they pulled out last minute, so then Glasgow had to come on board. and say, we'll do it, but we can't do it in the full capacity. Oh, what? Yeah. So it's a little bit watered down this time. Oh, no. And that's why I didn't even know it was happening, if I'm honest, until we had Dame
Starting point is 00:58:40 Sophie Pascoe in the other day, and she said it's happening. That's so terrible for athletes who have been, like, training for years for this moment, and then they get an average Commonwealth games because a country that says they could do it, couldn't. Yeah, remembering COVID didn't all get cancelled or the people that are trained, and then you possibly lose your abilities before. Anyway, I think Steph's. speak Spanish.
Starting point is 00:59:00 Morning, Steph. Yeah. Yes, okay. Fluently? Hi, are you fluent in Spanish? Yes, I'm Chilean, by the way. Okay. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:59:12 Great, so this is perfect. So have we got the audio of the pilot? Yeah, I've got the audio of the pilot. And from what I can gather watching the video, he trolls a playing for Argentinian fans, telling them that they've won the Football World Cup when they haven't, and all the Argentine fans stand up, and they're all in their jerseys,
Starting point is 00:59:28 and they're screaming and cheering, because obviously they don't have in-flight wife. and they were flying at the time of the final. So I don't know how Hardy went... I don't know how Hardy went on this prank. I just have their reaction. So you listen to this, Steph, and then translate for us afterwards.
Starting point is 00:59:43 Forman, it has been a part of a very disputed until the final, with all the two teams, it's done all. But the final of a world, unfortunately, only can win one. From here,
Starting point is 00:59:59 we'd want to give the honorabwe. and our Argentinian fans stand up and go mental Okay, could you hear it? Oh, it's quite hilarious, okay. Yeah, it says World Cup final is always
Starting point is 01:00:21 super challenging, but at the end only one team can win and I have to congratulate Argentina because you guys won the World Cup. Oh my gosh! He's going to get sued or fired. Do you think he just get so serious? Maybe it was a mistake on his part, and he just didn't realize.
Starting point is 01:00:39 Argentina didn't even have one single... He was a prank here. Oh, wow! They didn't even, Argentina didn't even have one shot on goal in the 90 minutes of regular play. Wow. It was unbelievably one-sided, and then Argentina were like real bad sports about it afterwards
Starting point is 01:00:55 and refused to look at Spain when they lifted the trophy. They all faced away, and I don't know. Hell of a prank, though, good on him. Wow. Oh, good. So he actually sold the prank and then didn't come clean at the end or anything. No, no, nothing.
Starting point is 01:01:08 It was just, they were just celebrating. Oh, wow. I don't know if I want a prankster flying a plane, eh? Like, what else is he going to do? The plane's going down. Steph, thank you so much for being a Spanish translator. If we ever have a situation like this again, we will call you back. Yeah, they'll save your number.
Starting point is 01:01:25 He's very helpful. Spanish correspondent. Got a Swedish one. Yeah, yeah. I like Steph a lot. than Sven. Well, yeah, do you think Sven will pop up at the Commonwealth Games in Scotland? Oh, of course.
Starting point is 01:01:35 And you probably get a year we could send him over and be there by Monday. Yeah, I can go, perfect. Sounds like a plan.
