This is a podcast from Rover.
If you've ever sent a risky text and then throw on your phone across the room,
you'll fit right in here.
This is the Clint Meg and Dan podcast.
Take the edge off for your mornings with Clint Meg and Dan.
It's breakfast.
Oh, look, I'm so sorry, Cal's here again.
Oh, no.
But let's do a roll call.
Okay, okay.
Cal, yes.
Dan, present.
Meg Mansell.
Present.
Cheese, bag.
Yes.
Wow, what a shit show.
to the after the holidays for us.
Yeah, musical cheers.
Crazy.
Yeah, so Clint apparently still on death's door.
I think that guy's milking it.
I think he's old.
I honestly think of me and you would have bounced back much quicker with the cold here.
He's at the age that if he falls over, it's called a four.
It has to be that because as far as we know, it's a really bad cold.
Like, it's a bad head cold, which sucks.
But it's a five day off cold.
Well, I mean, I feel like it's been going around.
Our boss took like a good week off at one point as well from like a bad flu.
I caught it.
I still showed up every day though.
Yeah.
I had it a few weeks ago and I took one day off.
Yeah.
But, you know, Clint's also at the age that if he gets the flu and can turn to pneumonia and he will die.
The flu is quite scary for him.
So we're with thoughts and prayers.
Clint, thoughts and prayers.
Hopefully we're here tomorrow.
So anyway, good to have you back, Meg.
I love having you across from me.
It's just eye candy and you're funny.
Oh, thanks then.
I'm really impressed you did the show by yourself.
NART.
The Clint Meg and Dan podcast.
A lot has gone down.
since our holiday and I've been away,
which, I mean, very different annually
to what Dan Clint experienced.
But I also had my second daughter's first birthday
on Monday.
She is now one.
Congratulations to me.
Could I just say, before you move on,
you say that you haven't been a well-rested holiday,
but you look rested and you've got a new hair.
I do.
I have a fringe, everybody.
I have a fringe.
It's like a hotter version of Dakota Johnson.
It's definitely not a hotter version of Dakota Johnson.
Well, it's subjective, and I think so.
And usually when a woman cuts a fringe out of the blue
by herself at home in her bathroom with the kitchen scissors,
it's not a good sign.
Yes.
Wow, it looks so good.
And usually isn't the story when you girls get fringed,
they've left their partner?
Something has gone on.
It's been quite a few days.
No, still happily with Guy.
But Dan very kindly came to Miller's first birthday party
with his son, George.
By the way, just, I mean, I am 100% bias
against my own children of thinking they are
the cutest most adorable kids in the universe.
I couldn't get away from anyone
telling me about how cute George is.
He is, and he's like made in a factory of little boy
cuteness.
Wow, look at his parents.
You know?
That's why I'm shocked.
Sad to Hannah.
Sorry, Hannah.
God, that's so mean to Hannah.
Sorry, no, I take him a bit.
Anyway, dad gave me a gift.
And as he was leaving, he goes,
just want to let you know.
Because we didn't do gifts at the time.
We were opening them later.
He goes, just want to let you know.
George picked the gift
I had nothing to do with it
And I like it
No I picked it
You did
That's what my family said
They said
Dan picked this
No I gave him
An option between two
And one of them
I made sure the other one
Was really boring
Oh God
Yeah
And he picked that one
It was
Yeah
You can say what it was
Well Dan got
My one year old
And I also live in a household
With a four and a half year old
A drum
Maracas
Clackas
A tambourine
So the day after
We opened them up Dan
I, without a word of a line, no exaggeration, 5.52 a.
A.m.
It was a full band.
It was a full band.
It was my four and a half year old Daisy.
Say, Mom, go.
I'm shaking the Maracas.
I see Guy in his hoodie sitting there just banging this tambourine.
It's still half a sleep.
Dan, bloody webby.
I cannot think of anything more depressing than at 5 a.m. in the morning at the mantles house,
Guy just sitting there with a couple of maracas.
It was just depressing as you've imagined it.
So thank you for that, Dan, very kind.
You didn't get a thank you text.
No, I've been waiting for it.
Nothing.
I see to hand it today or we the day.
Nothing.
Still nothing.
So anyway, you're welcome.
Oh, God.
Yeah, I could have been any worse.
The Clint Megandand Dan podcast.
Clint Megan Dan's scandal.
In Scandal, KJ. Upper has opened up about his relationship with actors Cole and Dylan Spouse.
Cole and I would walk into places in Vancouver all the time and get called.
Anything above this.
Yeah, I remember we almost got into a fight.
Cole likes to get fist to up.
Oh, yeah, I've been around.
He punched me in the face.
Yeah.
Remember, you ran like an ostrich.
He punched me in the face, and I ran away.
And Dylan Spras has talked about one time how he bullied another actor at a party.
I did my first keg stand at your house in New York, yeah.
And that's where we bullied Shalame.
Yeah.
So you and Timmy actually bonded over it.
I had that one interaction.
And then, of course, bullying him with you.
Yes.
Pulling him over the cake stand?
Yeah, which I don't even remember what we did,
but I do thought it was kind of funny
because I saw him years later and he's the coolest guy ever.
Poor Tim.
I think he's going to be fine.
Poor Tim, which is funny because Dylan has said afterwards,
he was like, Tim was really nice to me,
so I don't think he even realized that we were trying to bully him.
Tim was just like, oh God.
He seems like the nicest guy.
Yeah.
That's crazy.
Especially Timothy Shelomé now and you look at him,
he's like so much further ahead.
Oh, yeah. Oh, my God, yeah.
And they'll be laughing about that.
Yeah.
He's unbelievably further here than Dylan Spouse.
Yeah, one of the Spouse brothers doing now, eh?
Yeah.
Maybe Big Daddy too will come out one day.
Coming up next, first caller in the day, if you want to get through.
Sometimes it's just people that have never called before.
In fact, I think we had one yesterday, Meg.
Really?
Yeah.
So, no, someone that's never called the radio station before.
Oh, I had under the edge.
Wow, that would be fascinating.
Maybe it's because me and Clint weren't there.
They were like, thank God.
Thank God.
I'm going.
Clint, Megan Dan.
First call of the day.
First call of the day.
First call of the day this morning is Paul.
He installs splashbacks.
Morning, Paul.
Morning, guys.
How's it going?
Yeah, good.
How many different splashbacks are you installing?
What's the range?
Oh, we actually have the biggest range in Wellington.
So we do painted glass, printed glass, textured glass.
Oh, all the glasses.
We even do a porcelain tile.
Cows are getting very confused.
Cows, so a splashback is where
when you're cooking, if you can imagine that,
when you're cooking, it's...
So when you drink something and then there's like splashback.
And no, and there's the tiles
behind the cooker.
Yeah.
That's a splashback.
It's sort of like fried.
I think mine's just a wall.
Right.
Oh, you need a splashback.
Yeah, it's gross.
Yeah, yeah.
Oh, beautiful.
Yeah.
Perfect.
There we go.
Yeah, mate's right.
There we go.
We've spoken to you before, I think.
I remember talking about splashbacks before for some reason.
And this we've got highly competitive.
Oh, no, we do.
Okay, same guy.
Same guy.
No, no, same guy.
Oh, good.
Now, Paul, is the splashback market competitive?
Like, have you got your arch nemesis in Wellington where you're like, there's that Dave splashbacks?
He pisses me off.
Funnily enough, my direct competitor actually lives across the road from it.
Do you guys, like, when you walk out in the morning, have eye contact?
I've waved to them, but he doesn't wave back.
Oh, he started the best.
That makes you the better person.
Absolutely.
We knew that, though.
Now, this is a telling as to who is better.
Who leaves first in the morning?
You or him?
Oh, he does, because I do drop off off my kids.
That's because he's having to work harder because you've got all the market.
He's like, I have to get out before Paul.
That's true, Dan.
Good twist there.
He doesn't have time to drop off his kids.
His wife does that.
Yes.
Yeah, okay.
Well, thanks to call Paul.
Thanks, Paul.
We have you have a great day.
Do we have any, I don't know, do we have any.
movie tickets or anything?
Nothing.
Shit, now I've got to put my foot in it.
We've got no prizes, man. It's dire out there.
Paul, I'll send you...
Meg will send you 20 bucks from her own account.
No, I'll send you a bumper bar.
Stay there, we'll get you a touchdown.
And if I haven't even needed a splashback
and I miraculously moved to Wellington, I'll get in touch.
Stay there, Paul.
I think they've put them in the vending machine.
Yeah, I'll send you a month.
Yeah, I'll send them a month.
This is a pretty good prize.
Coming up next, Meg, this is a segment we tried yesterday.
A bit of an experimental thing
It went way better than any of us expected
So we're bringing it back next
It's called the reverend
It's got nothing to do with religion
But everything to do with revving your car
So if you've got access to a vehicle this morning
That you can rev for us
0,800 the edge
Clint, Megan Dan
If you've got a car, give it a rev
It's time for the reverend
I love that dad acted like
He didn't know there was an intro
but it's your voice and darling.
Yeah, but I'm amazing.
Oh, really?
Okay, so that means if there's an intro,
it's something that's staying.
Well, no, I think yesterday was a success.
Yeah, right.
Let's see how today goes.
So this is, somebody revs their car,
and you can guess what car it is.
Make a model.
It was off the back of Hannah and I
were sitting at home the other day.
Like, we always don't just sit at home.
I was just sitting at home.
I was smoking a pipe.
Yeah, yeah.
And a car was revving up the road,
like doing burnouts and stuff and I was like that sounds like a nissen skyline
and Hannah was like oh and I was like it's coming down here I bet it's the skyline
drove past boom skyline god you guys have like fascinating lives
and they are poking through their window curtains and then we went to bed and that was
730 so we're going to try it again yesterday we had it with um a listener he called up and
bad a bada bada bum you've got it this you've got a car there that you can read
and I'm going to try and guess what type of car it is.
Yeah, good luck, I don't think you'll get it.
So give us a rev now.
Let me see if I can get it instantly.
Okay, so it sounds like...
It sounds Japanese to me.
Well, I'm leaning towards it's like a larger car.
I'm going to hazard a guess.
It's a Toyota Previa or a Japanese version,
which I think is the steamer or the amina.
Oh, no way.
Of course it is.
Why, did you just guess that?
Yeah, I can't believe you're.
You're, you're joking.
It's not.
That's a Toyota esteemer.
Oh, God!
It is a talent!
And so, to be fair, there was a little bit of,
he basically gave away that it was a Toyota.
How?
Because he said it's the most common Japanese car brand.
Oh, right, yeah.
And then he said at the start of the call
that he had a big family,
so I assumed it was like a people mover.
So there was a few little things he did give away there.
So next, we're going to speak.
to, should we just bring Sean on right now?
Morning, Sean from Christchurch.
You there, Sean?
Yep.
Yep, there you are.
So we're going to come to you next, Sean.
You're going to rev your car, and I'm going to try and guess what type of vehicle it is.
Are you ready?
Can you give us just a quick rev now, just a little one?
Yep.
Okay, off you go.
Did you get that?
Absolutely nothing.
Oh, it's an electric vehicle.
Yeah, is it a Tesla?
Right.
Okay, so you're going to have to, look, we'll give you a.
a couple of minutes to gather your
maybe put your phone out the window or something
and then we'll come back to you okay
and we'll try and guess what car you're driving
otherwise it might be a Tesla
that would be my guess after that's hilarious
that would be a real stitch him if someone called with a Tesla
he's on a bike
okay they need to be a petrol operated car
Clint Meg and Dan
If you've got a car
give it a rev
it's time for the reverend
I don't know if it's a talent yet
we haven't tested it enough but if you
call up, oh, 100 the edge, rev your car. I will try and guess what type of vehicle it is.
I get a couple of questions that won't give it away, and then I'll have a guess.
And Sean joins us this morning from Christchurch. Morning, Sean. Okay, that was Meg's fault there.
So, Sean, you're with us?
Yes, very sure. Okay, so give you a car a rev right now, and let's see if we can hear it,
first of all. Oh, okay, so it's very faint. Give it another rev, and try and hold your phone as
close as you can to the engine bay.
Give it another rev.
Okay, so that sounds to me like a diesel.
Am I on the right track?
You are on the right track.
Okay, a diesel.
How does that sound like a diesel?
Okay, see, this is tricky
because there's so many cars that are diesel.
Can I ask, Sean,
what you do for a job?
Me, I am a
community support worker.
A community support worker.
And the diesel.
The job will not help with the vehicle.
Okay, bugger.
That was a stupid question, so I get one more.
Am I on the right track to say that it is of the...
It's either going to be a van or a Ute, I think.
I think it's a van.
Can I guess it's a Ute?
Yes, correct, yeah.
Okay, so now I've got a few options here.
Usually it would either be a Toyota Hylux,
a Mitsubishi Trit.
A Ford Ranger, I don't think it would be a Ford Ranger because I don't think you sound like the Ford Ranger type of person.
You sound like a good person.
Definitely not.
Yeah.
Okay, there we go.
And then it also could also be a Nissan, what's the Nissen version?
Nissen Navarra.
Or, oh man.
So, Toyota Highlux, I would say would be the most common, right?
Yeah.
I would say that too because that's the only one I know.
Yeah.
I mean, you've definitely said it.
I have said it.
Yeah.
Okay, so we could...
Closer to the end, though.
Okay, so it could be Triton.
Or the Navar.
Navar.
Yeah.
Or Ranger, because I said that quite towards the end as well.
Yeah, the Ford Ranger, you said definitely not.
So it's Navarer or Trident.
I reckon it sounds like a Navar.
Sean from Christch.
Sean from Christchurch.
Are you driving a Nissen Navar?
You are 100% correct
100% from 2!
Come on
Be up to the Avengers, baby!
Move over Iron Man and Spider-Man
and that other woman, what's her name?
Mystique.
No, Black Widow.
Yeah, I forget about those ones.
But anyway, thank...
Wow, this is good, so that's two for two.
...lives another day.
Sean, are you impressed?
Yeah, I thought it might have been a little bit more difficult.
You know what?
You did give it away a little bit, if I'm honest.
Okay, look, there were a lot of...
You're nearly there.
It's towards the end, and there was only two things then.
You definitely blew me in the right direction, so thank you, Sean.
Thanks, Sean.
Yeah, I think it remains to be seen when I don't get any clues.
Yeah.
Your favourite game on the edge.
Just a hits.
Hello, Jamie.
You've played before in the past, haven't you?
Morning.
Yes, yes.
Yeah, a long time ago, yeah.
Yeah, how'd you go in it?
Sorry?
How did you go? Do you remember?
Oh, I think I've got about seven or eight.
That's not bad.
So you're lost.
That's what you're saying.
I'll tell you this, Jamie.
I had a test of your questions during the song there.
No good.
And it was shockingly bad.
So you can do better than me.
Oh, great.
No, yeah, I don't think it's because they were hard.
I think Dan, you just sucked.
I'm just dumb.
Oh, God, yes.
Okay, all right, Jamie.
It's a good letter for you this morning because it's Jay for Jamie.
Cool.
Alrighty.
Okay.
Good night, Jamie.
All right.
I'm just going to run through them.
Dan, you're going to check if they're right or wrong.
I'm just going to keep going.
And your timer will start as soon as Meg finishes answering, asking the first question.
Jamie, give me something sweet.
Jelly.
A girl's name.
Jasmine.
A word ending in E.
Pass.
An occupation.
Joyner.
A male musician.
Justin Bieber.
Something you'd find in the kitchen.
Jam.
A musical.
Fine, Jamie.
That's time.
Just a bit too slow.
It's a shocker, isn't it?
Yeah, well, it wasn't a shocker.
No, it wasn't a shocker.
Yeah, so you got five.
You passed on a word ending in an e.
You could have said joke, juggle, juvenile, judge.
Hard ones, though.
And a musical jersey boys, Jesus Christ, superstar, Joseph,
and the amazing technical a dream coat.
The musical ones are.
You would have been got to that one, Dan?
Oh, well, no.
Yeah.
Well, Dad, what did you do for an occupation?
I see a Japanese person.
but I meant
like Japanese language
like someone that teaches Japanese
but I didn't get it out properly
because that's not an occupation
that's just
No, just a person
Yeah
So anyway so thanks for bringing that up me
That's all right
Thanks Jamie
Thanks Jamie for playing
Next chance to play
Coming up at 8 this morning
Two chances in morning
To win a grand
Yeah you haven't been here Meg
For any of this best of the island stuff
The big release
The big announce
No yeah
I've been working behind the seeds
For a very long time
It's not refer to it as the big release
in the book.
Clint, Megan Dan.
Long distance best the island.
Beijing!
Yeah, we're...
You guys have...
We announced it on Tuesday.
I wasn't able to be here.
I was gutted about.
We've been working on a behind the scenes for so long.
The Edge Breakfast and Duck Horse events have crafted
what I believe is the perfect
trip for long-distance best friends
to come together and actually
have some time together.
I have two long-distance best friends
and both of them,
I would love to do this with them.
And I think half of the problem of us getting together
is somebody has to do the organizing of where it's going to be,
how much is it going to be, what's the accommodation,
and it's such a big deal to try and organize a trip,
especially if you do have kids involved.
So we've tried to take all of that pain away,
and we're saying this is what it is.
$2,900, that's what the packages start from,
for your flights, for your accommodation,
for your food and alcohol beverages,
you just can't do cocktails.
For activities, there's going to be a best.
photos shoot because I think that
there is some reason
that if they're your best mate you never have a photo
with them I think it's because you get such a little time together
you don't bother wasting any of it with selfies
and then you go and we go I don't have any memories from that moment
so we've organised the whole thing and packages
go and sell tomorrow yeah and the thing is as well
you say we're taking the organising out of it
that's part of it yes of course
and it's great for lazy people that can't be boring
but also it's cheaper than you never get it
even if you did organise it if you think
about it if you're trying to get flights a
accommodation, all your food paid for,
apart from the first night, I believe on the island,
but food, drinks,
all of that organised, pleasure activities.
You've got things to opt in or out of, because
if you're a person like me, maybe you don't want to opt in,
maybe you just want to chill with your best mate at the pool.
Fine, we'll leave, you know, leave you be.
But if you do want things to do, we're there too.
With the photo shoot, you get professional photos.
All of that covered $2,900
for, I think that's four, is it four days?
Yeah, four days.
Three nights accommodation.
Oh, yeah, yeah, four.
So you can head to Rover.
we can text with Bestead 3343 to get the information
I also believe I need to confirm this
but I believe there's only like there's a down payment
so you don't have them or have all the money tomorrow
so if you're sitting there and go I want to go
I'll get the leave but I just need to get the money together
of the next few months because who has three grand just sitting in a bank account
ready to go for a holiday I get that
Clint yeah true Clint
and then there will be an ability to just do a down payment
and then you can pay the rest off before you go
So we've also covered that
Because that was something I was concerned about
Of like, well, you know, people don't just have spare
Otherwise they'll just go on a trip
Yeah, I think the best thing to do
If you're interested or you're like, oh, that sounds like something we could do
Just text besty like Meg Center 33443
And that's where all the information is
And sort of get ready for tomorrow
Because the chances are this might sell out pretty quickly
Obviously the spots are limited
Yeah, very limited spots
We're hoping to make this an annual thing as well
So that we can do this every year with you
And you can save up and know what's coming and look forward to every year.
And every year you're like, let's go to Bestie Island.
Yeah.
And also, if you've got a group of four bestmates, like, you know, I've got my group of five girls all around the country and the world, you can do a whole bunch of you, you know, as long as you're all getting there.
My dream for this is that we, obviously we're going along, Clint Meag and myself, as well as a whole load of people from the edge.
But we will gain new besties from this and be able to, like, be friends forever.
and we'll all, every year, every year we'll go,
let's go to Bestie Island again and catch up to our besties.
I mean, that could happen or again, we could just leave you be.
So it's whatever you want for it to be.
We won't be stage five clingers.
Yeah, I, we're just huge, huge thanks for Fiji Airways, Tourism, Fiji, Tarno International Hotel,
Tewaka and Beachcoma Island Resort and also Duck Horse Events.
I can't stress you how hard people have been working behind the scenes to make this happen for you,
so you can actually get out of the group chat
and actually make it happen
and put down a small payment.
I'm going to confirm with my promo team how much that is
so I can let you know if you have this money tomorrow,
you can come.
You just have to find the rest before we leave.
Yeah.
Clint, Megan Dan.
You may I've heard this yesterday.
It was in the news, leading news, in fact.
A fish company is sticking up for people
that have fish in communal places in the workplace.
Seelord is going into battle
for people who want to eat food.
Fish at work. Its workplace fish discrimination report found a lot of people have left their lunch
at home due to the stigma about fishy smells at work. The company's even launched a new
reporting scheme to dob in anti-fish workplaces. It's just ridiculous. Yeah, I disagree wholeheartedly
with Seelord on this. It's just, oh, it's a big marketing campaign, obviously. I just think
you should just eat your food. What do you mean you can't eat it? I look, I am all about fish and I do
like fish and I eat it at home.
But I think in the workplace,
it can be quite an offensive thing to eat
in a public area, especially... There's a lot of
offensive things to eat, though. I don't eat meat.
You don't care?
You don't mean it's offensive to other people
don't like the smell of eggs. Do you get rid of
eggs? There's like five of you in the office.
Yeah, but you're the minority, people that don't eat meat.
Yeah. You're just, you're as bad as the ones
that eat fish, to be honest. Just but what about
like, so
is tuna the same as eggs, you can't have eggs at work?
Because eggs smell worse to me.
I'd say, I agree with you.
Yeah.
No eggs, no tuna.
Producer Carl comes in with like a full on like roast.
Yeah, he's like a beef stir fry with an egg and I think it's most nice.
I think just stinky lunches in general.
And there's some people that just obviously don't have the senses to know that their lunch stinks.
I think that different cultures have different foods as well.
And I think that you might sit there and go that's stinky, but it's actually delicious to them.
Well, now we've brought culture into it.
Yeah, well there, I'm going to go there.
There's nothing cultural about fish.
Yeah, tuna.
So we're just sticking with tuna.
Not just stinky lunches altogether.
Don't bring the sea word into it.
It's nothing to do with culture.
I'm just saying there.
Lots of people have different foods that they like and they eat.
They all smell different.
I don't see the big deal.
Now I can't make jokes.
No, you can.
Well, when it comes to tuna,
are you saying it should be banned from the workplace?
I'm not just saying just tuna.
I'm talking about any type of fish that is,
and I would say if you're having it reheated,
from last night's dinner.
That's a big no-no.
Right, so no, cold fish is okay.
Cold fish and you're heating it up in the communal
microwave. You should be, that should be a sackable
offence because I don't want to put my lasagna.
Yes. What do you mean?
I don't want to put my lasagna into a fishy microwave.
I don't think it works that way.
I don't think it's going to tend your
lasagna with fish.
It will. It'll make my lasagna smell fishy.
I feel like it needs to be like an outside area.
You know, we've got an outside area.
It's like if you're having fish, go eat outside.
Okay, so there should be a separate microwave outside for people
that eat fish.
I think they call it segregation.
Clint Megan's and stinky boo.
Found this on the internet a few days ago
and I thought I'd bring it along to the show.
I don't know if it's going viral at this point
but it's definitely a little bit of a trend
that's going on, especially on TikTok.
Maybe on yours.
I have not seen
editorials.
And producer Carl and producer Brady
have put together an intro.
Now I just want to have it said right now
that I had nothing to do with this intro
and I don't, my views
do not align with how they've done.
it. So play it. It's not a good way to start.
It's sorry for dance.
Oreo Job.
Oreo Job? Yeah.
It's called an Oreo job.
So, well, no, it's just called the Oreo Challenge, but they've taken artistic merit there
with the name. So essentially what it is, is it tests how many Oreos you can fit in
your mouth. So we've gone out and purchased some Oreos. What you'll see in front of you
is a stack of Oreos.
So it's about the height of it, right?
It's the height.
It's not how many you can fit in your mouth.
It's stacked high.
How deep you can go with Oreo?
This is so, well, I'm not having a video of this.
And so apparently, according to the video I saw, no one can do more than five.
Okay.
Now, Cal and I practiced this on the overthinkers podcast just the other day.
You can have a listen to that or any of our Overthinkers podcast by texting podcast to 3343.
But I think we should test Meg and I now as to see how we can do it.
So do you want me to, I think it's fair if I go first as I've brought this to the show.
Now I will say
I haven't got a very big mouth
So I don't think I'm going to be getting anywhere
Close to five
So here we go
I'm here I go
I'm going to go straight in now
Okay
How much do you get one
Two
Hmm
Four
Four
So I managed four
So that's exactly what I suspected would be
Meg I feel like you go next
Yeah I'm not doing videos though
This is not going on the internet
Okay we can blow yours out
Okay it will go on the internet
but yeah, give it a go.
If you want to cover your face again.
Well, she's tying her hair back and everything.
Okay, there she goes.
Oh, wow, Meg.
She's gone quite deep.
Okay, so she's got one, two, three, four, five, six.
She's been the world record.
That was six because that was broken.
So that's still more than the person that I saw on the video do it.
So that is incredible.
Right, okay, can we?
That's one hell of a mouth.
My goodness me, Meg.
Okay, cow, see if you could beat six.
I think Carl can beat me.
Okay, come around here.
I've put a stack for you.
Because I feel like this is Cowell's wheelhouse.
I don't know.
I don't understand why you think such a thing.
What did you get on the podcast the other day when we were doing practicing?
Seven.
He did seven.
This is a really weird game.
I reckon you can go for eight.
Yeah?
Which is the entire stack sitting here?
I believe.
I think I've got nine there.
Three, four, five, six.
There's nine.
There's nine.
I reckon if you can leave one on the table,
you are doing very, very well.
Okay, here we go.
I don't know if I want a video either now.
I know, it's really quite a basic.
Cal Payne, does he have the biggest mouth on the show?
And he goes.
Okay, he's gone deep.
Now remember, don't do this at home.
It is a choking hazard.
He's gone all nine.
Okay, see you later.
Okay, that is.
All nine.
I'm in my eyes water a little bit.
We need to get that up on the internet
because that is going to go absolutely viral.
Yeah, that will go bonkers somewhere.
Nine!
It's definitely going to hit one community.
Yeah, it is.
You know how they do that weekbix thing?
I can do three in the mornings.
They need to do an Oreo ad and calculate that I can do nine.
I have a feeling that they're not going to go with that, Dan.
Let's go!
Had a bit of a rough annual leave, you could say.
So we had our last day on Thursday,
and then the next day it was Matriki.
and on Thursday night my husband and I
got a neurovirus of some sorts of gastrovirus
I don't need to explain any more details
other than my husband and I went down
exactly the same time and
we had to get somebody else to look after our children
because we were both completely incapable of looking
after our children yes
When was that? So that was Thursday night
so we worked on the Thursday morning
Oh my God
Do you have to share a bathroom in that sense?
Yep we've got one bathroom
Oh
Shocking that's where you get to know your part
partner, I?
Yeah, I mean, me and Guy have been together since 21 and 23, so we know each other very well by this point.
But it was, it was we had to make a plan of if I'm on the toilet and you need to go.
Shower.
Yeah, what happens?
So it was very stressful.
It was horrible.
It took us both out.
And because we don't have family here, I poor babysat it to come around.
She stayed in a different part of the house.
She still ended up getting a poor thing.
I know.
I just, kind of been.
So that took us out.
And then the next day, my baby, who just turned one, Miller started getting sick.
And she ended up getting pneumonia and ended up in Starship Hospital.
It's been a hell of a week.
So not quite annual leave, per se.
And I got to the point where I was doing everything that I needed to do and nothing more.
So I was keeping my kids alive.
I was feeding them.
I was taking them to wherever they need to be.
I was sharring myself, but nothing else.
It was no makeup.
The barest of minimum of human function.
Just existing, dad.
So my hair and top knot, you know, obviously no makeup, clothes that I found that are just baggy sweet pads and stuff.
And I would have been on very, very, very little sleep, days and days on the end of a couple to three hours of like sleep because our daughter was so sick.
Sounds amazing.
So we had no like weight anyway.
So you can imagine the state of me.
I went to pick up my daughter from Kendi.
And she has been going to this place for the better part of.
of a year and half.
And so we know everyone quite well there, I would say.
You know, they see me every single day.
With your makeup on and stuff, they're like, oh, it's gorgeous.
She's gorgeous.
They do see me in my normal state.
And this was, as I said, very different.
So I was leaving.
And one of the people that worked there, who I know and have known for a while,
look me in the eye and said,
is it Auntie Judy's on pick up today?
and I said
No
it's me
at the same time
we realised that she
I looked so ugly and so bad
that she thought that looks like
Meg's ugly sister
that kind of looks like Meg enough
to be me
God she was probably thinking God
Meg got the good jeans
man I'd be gutted enough
what's your name
a bit of a back habit
the fact that she was like
that possibly look
looks like Meg, so it must be a sister.
So at what point is this a backhanded compliment?
I'm not saying any compliment here.
The compliment I think in a way is that she thought I couldn't possibly...
Get it that line.
Oh, poor me.
Yeah, so I didn't know if the ground wanted to swallow her up in that aspect of like...
Oh God, you'd be...
What did you say to her in that instance?
I just said, no, it's me and I laughed.
I said, we've had a bit of a rough voice.
Jesus.
She must have been like, bloody.
Wow, very rough.
You're telling me.
You must have been so bad.
I was laugh crying on the way home in the car.
Was that before or after you cut your bangs?
Because I wanted to also...
It was before. It was pre-bangs.
Oh, so it wasn't even like you got new hair either.
It was the next day, Meag was like, I need to sort this out.
I told you guys something.
Yeah, she's like, I'm so ugly.
Oh, I don't know the edge.
Text 333-4-3.
Have you said, like, put your foot in it with someone, or have they said it to you?
Clint, Meg and Dan.
Oh, my gosh.
Had a bit of a rough time.
over my annual leave, wouldn't call it a holiday,
got norovirus, then my baby got pneumonia,
so I hadn't had much sleep.
It was to be a minimum to survive,
and I had somebody who, in theory,
should know me pretty well after knowing them for a year and a half,
assumed that I was my own ugly sister.
Ugly sister.
It's Meg's ugly sister.
Which I know I have a sister, by the way.
But if you did, she'd be ugly.
We all know when did somebody,
Or when did you put your foot in nap?
Oh my God, this has opened one can of worms this morning.
Someone's text through, I'm a nurse.
On night shift one night, a patient complained they couldn't sleep.
So I offered her air plugs.
Yeah.
She was deaf.
Right, it's got nothing to do with that, unfortunately.
I'd quit.
I'd quit.
I'd be like, I'm done.
Let's go to Chanel.
All right, Chanel.
Oh, I remember the morning.
Chanel.
Hello, good morning.
So this was where your son was young.
It was at Christmas time.
You were at the mall.
What happened?
So we were at the mall, and my son literally at the top of his voice points out to a short person and said,
Hey, Mom, there's one of Santa's elves.
Oh, God!
Like a short person?
Like a little person?
As in, yeah.
Yeah, yeah.
That is so sad.
Did the person hear it?
Oh, for sure.
Oh, her official was that loud.
The loudest thing.
And he would have put him straight on the Nordiglist.
The thing is, so shenault, it's so hard because it is so innocent.
You know what I mean?
It actually is really innocent for a young kid to say that around Christmas time.
Yeah, our kids say the darndest things, don't they, Shal.
Oh, gosh, I know that I'm not really hard to know what to do in that moment.
Millie, this wasn't a child, though.
You don't have any excuse.
Morning, Millie.
Good morning.
Okay, so you were giving someone a facial.
Yeah, so I'm a beauty therapist.
I'm in early stages of my pregnancy.
Yeah.
And just felt the wave of nausea come on,
hands on the client's face,
and so I quickly slap on a face mask,
run out of the treatment room and threw up all down the hallway.
And I'm covered in spew.
Oh, my God.
They're that ugly.
Oh, stop it.
It was my sister.
It was my sister.
Okay, so Millie, what happened?
You're covered in vomit.
How do you go back in there?
Do you have to just say, hey, sorry, appointment over?
So I'm self-employed, so there was no one else that could help me.
That was when I wanted the earth to swallow me up, but it didn't.
And I quickly had to kind of, like, go to the bathroom, wipe off as much as I could.
Oh, God, that's so horrific.
I'm on a jumper that I had.
I checked my mum being like
S-O-S-O-S I need a change of clothes
ASAP
And the person
And they would have been dying
They would have been like
This chick smells of robin
Really
Did you give a discount?
Free, surely
Free?
Free, free, free.
And they would have had to walk out
Just one more question
They would have had to walk out after the session
And see all your vomit line hallway
Yeah, I wonder if we're going to get a phone call from them
And they're like
Man, I had a facial one time
This girl threw up on her
up and then carried on.
Yeah.
Thanks, Millie.
And finally, Christine
Randall's called through.
Morning, Christine.
Hi, guys.
How are you?
Yeah, good.
I'm surprised you're listening.
Your beautiful son isn't on here.
Well, I do miss him.
Yeah, we do too.
I still listen to you guys.
Oh, please you.
Was this with you?
Christine, did you say something
that made you want to have the grounds
while you are?
I'll give it to John.
Oh, John.
Okay.
Oh, John's coming on.
Okay, I had a garage agency
and a couple
come in to purchase a garage
and I said to them
when the permit comes through
I'll let you and your mother know
when it's ready and he said it's not my
mother it's my wife
oh god
you never assume John
you never assume
God it must have been out like crawling
under the office stairs and I remember
them walking out the door and
the guy that worked for me
said clip and heck Randall he has
sure, put your foot in a pair.
So it's not like one of those things where it's like,
maybe no one noticed.
Did they still buy the garage out of interest?
Sorry?
Did they still get the garage?
Yes, yes.
They got the garage.
There you go.
It was a big age difference.
So I let Memphis to presume
things like that.
I'm very cautious now when I
think he has to anybody.
I've learned my dad's very,
very fast.
Yeah, it's funny.
It's like,
John seen somebody
at like 70 and 30,
he's like,
girlfriend, mom.
Yeah.
I think that is key.
Never a presuming.
We end on this text,
which is of the same ilk.
When I was seven to eight months pregnant,
we had my niece's birthday party at our house.
We had a face painter come along.
I assumed she was also seven to eight months pregnant.
I said congratulations.
What are you having?
She told me she wasn't pregnant.

Seeing your bestie with the Edge just hits.
Yeah, this is the first time that the Edge has ever done something like this.
this isn't something that to win.
This is something that we're put together
that you can hopefully go to and enjoy with your best friend.
After we did, I did a piece about my long distance best mates
and it now has over a quarter of a million shares,
250,000 people have sent it to their best friends around the world.
So we knew something had hit a spot.
And so we wanted to see if we could put together a package
that meant it took away the stress of organizing something,
figuring out where to go, what to do,
you know, how to book it,
trying to contact your mates.
All you need to do is both of you,
send each other this package.
We've got Australian flights and we've got New Zealand flights
and we're hoping if we do it next year
to extend it around the world as well
and it becomes an annual thing.
You only have to put down payment tomorrow of $500
to get your spot and there are limited spots.
So it's 500 and then you've got certain dates
to lock in the next 500 and the next 500.
So if that is something you can do,
in your spot and look forward to being able to see your best mate again that if you guys
long distance for any means whether it's Christchurch to Auckland or whether it's Auckland to
Sydney or are you wherever you are or even if they are around the world if they can make
it to Sydney or some sort of port in Australia they can still do the package from there
is a question what if I my best friend lives in the same city as me but we'd never see each other
yeah but I mean we're not going to do uh you know that the idea of it is for long
Yeah, long distance. But if you really...
Yeah, sure. If you just never see them
and you live in, like... Maybe you're both
in Christchurch, but you're just so busy that you haven't
seen them in a year. You know? But maybe that's
an option as well. And you just want to have
the time and space for
hanging out and doing activities.
We are going to be there.
I had somebody messages saying that
this is obviously just a way for me to get my
friends and hang out with them through work. My friends
aren't going. So this is all for you.
No, I would love my friends to be there, but this
is a work trip for me, but this is a
place for you to take your mate or to go with your mates, plural.
You can text Best Eater 3, 3, 3 and send you your mate as well $500.
Do you have that money?
Can you get the time off in October?
Make it happen.
Get out of the group chat.
This is something you can really look forward to, and I think it's really important to have
things to look forward to my mum always tells me that whenever I'm down.
She's like, you need something to look forward to.
This could be for you guys.
Yeah, 100%.
And it's not that far away, really.
No.
And if you can't get the time off work, just pull the sakey right before you go.
That's what Clint's doing.
That's what Clint's doing.
I think it's only, it goes over a way.
weekend so I think you only need a couple of days off too.
We did that on purpose as well. We know how hard it is
to get time off. So fingers crossed
we've tried to think of absolutely everything. We've got photo shoots for besties.
We've got activities to opt in or opt out of.
Your food is paid for.
Your alcohol is paid for apart from one night.
You don't have to worry about anything. Just one night's food and drink.
And the rest of it will be covered for you.
Here's my advice. I reckon what you need to do today
because it's not on sale yet. It goes on sale tomorrow.
Text Best E2-3343. Flick the link to your best,
your best mate that's in another town
and then get all your ducks in a row before tomorrow morning
because then you never know it might sell out and then you'll miss out.
Yeah. Again, really limited spots.
$500 down payment tomorrow. That's all you need.
Come on, let's do it.
Get out of the group chat. Let's do it.
Clint, Megan, Dan.
I met a lady over the holidays while we're down in Topol.
Beautiful part of the country.
It's a good trip.
It's quite an extreme part of the country, isn't it?
Obviously, you've got the hook of fools, a lot of jetboating there.
You've got your bungee jumping at the AJ Hackett
bungee.
And we went to see some skydiving at Taupor Airport.
And because my son's like obsessed with stuff in the sky.
He loves looking at birds and planes and stuff.
So I thought we'd take him to look at some skydivers.
And a lady landed and I overheard her walking out of like getting the parachute off her
and she was going over to meet her husband who was holding a baby.
And apparently two weeks before she did that skydive, she'd given birth.
I mean, I don't know.
I mean, I'm not a midwife or a doctor,
but that feels like something,
you shouldn't be doing two weeks after giving birth?
I mean, you've given birth twice now?
I have.
Okay, two weeks after that, what's happening?
Two weeks after, I thought you were meant to lie in bed for five days.
And then you're not meant to, like,
I think it's like five days in bed, five days around the house,
sort of like, that's what's recommended.
I think that would be the...
Although I did have a post-partum hemorrhage and I lost a couple of liters of blood,
so maybe that was just me.
Yeah, I don't know if you're having, like...
Yeah, exactly.
But we have had this happen before, Dan,
where we've done stories about what did you do right after birth.
And I knew it would go off because we've got some just insane women.
I'm going to say it.
Insane women that have been doing crazy things in the past.
So this was nine days after giving birth.
What did you do?
Yeah, I jumped back on the netball court.
So this was two weeks after you had not only a normal C-section.
What did you do?
Yeah, it was emergency C-section too.
So I jumped on my motorbike and did a motorcross race.
Were the stitches out at this point?
They can't have been really.
No, they weren't. My midwife was at the track because her daughter was racing and she saw me and she was not impressed.
That's good.
Oh my god.
That's like, yeah.
Did you imagine doing a motocross race two weeks after getting kicked in the Nats?
Couldn't up.
I've heard that's worse pain, cow.
I'm not going to bite.
So what did you...
Good on your Meg.
That's gross.
That's going to get it.
What did you do right after birth?
Give us call.
Oh, we're under the edge, Texas, 3, 3, 4.3.
Yeah, the more extreme, the better.
Oh, God.
And we don't, I mean, well, I don't.
I don't recommend this or, I don't want to tell you off, but this seems wild to me.
All right, we're here from you next.
Clint Megan Dan.
Talk about what you did after giving birth.
Yeah, I met a lady over the holidays when I was in Topor that had just done a skydive.
Two weeks prior to that, she'd given birth.
Two weeks prior, she was jumping out of a plane.
Yeah, so a lot of people texting through.
I think we spoke to Alana maybe last time we did this,
but she's sick through saying she was playing netball five weeks postpartum.
It's either there's another person playing netball five weeks.
I mean, that's wild.
I mean, five weeks, I guess, it's over a month.
And if you had a normal birth, like a very sort of textbook birth, maybe it would be fine.
Yeah, and that's, yeah, that's the thing.
I mean, it depends what textbook is to you.
Sue said, I took rest for three weeks.
I had a fourth degree tear, so I had to rest until I could walk without her.
myself, exactly. Everybody is different.
I had a second degree tear, I think.
Is that worse? No, she had
fourth is the worst. You can't get higher.
You can't get higher than a four.
Yeah, okay, four is... Wow.
Is there no five? There's no five.
I don't think. I think it's four is
the worst. All right, let's go to Amber.
O eight hundred the edge. Amber, what were you doing
directly after giving birth?
I had my daughter and I went
skateboarding maybe three days after I had him.
You're crazy.
Right.
You're crazy, Amber.
I love it.
And are you like at Tony Hawk level or you just basically just going to the skate park recreationally?
I can like drop in bowls and do like a few tricks.
So I was carving around the bowl and stuff.
You're kidding.
So you were dropping in on the half pipe and stuff?
Yeah, yeah.
It was quite a big one too.
I think I pushed myself a little bit too early.
Why?
It's so cool.
Here's my question, why.
Like what possessed you after five days going to the skate park?
I just love skateboarding and I went nine months without it
So the second that I could get out the house
That makes sense
And you're like
Look at that amazing story of a woman who like gave up something
That she loved to look after this baby
You know for nine months because she knew that would be a silly thing to do
To skateboard with a pregnancy
And then like badass
Gets back on it after five days
Yeah good on you
I just I don't see how women aren't seen
As the toughest in the world when we hear things like this
It's just crazy
crazy. Let's see, Christy, what did you do after giving birth?
Hi, I went 10 days over with my first daughter and I was in my last year of
uni. I had her by emergency C-section and then two days later, I set my state finals.
Oh my God, did you do them laying down or did you have to stand up?
No, I did. I had a cushion. They pulled me in. I had a cushion and the night before I was
freaking out because I had to get 100% on maths. And instead of studying, I had to,
had a glass of port wrench sleep and then got up and the next day did by exams and yeah then
drove home.
Did you pass?
Yes, I did.
Wow.
Of course you did.
And surely they could have given you a couple of weeks.
Yeah, right?
It could have been like, yeah, sorry.
No.
You have to sit them when you have to sit them.
So it was either do men or not do them.
What happens if you're sick?
That's stupid.
What about if somebody dies?
Well, I don't know.
You just have to do them on the Tuesday.
It's mandatory.
Oh, my God.
Okay.
Who made that rule?
I wonder.
Yeah.
nursing councils
yeah
yeah
so I put it down
them six months later
but I wanted them done
so I did it
and yeah
well done
christie
thank you
you proved that you did it
anyway
I just think you
shouldn't have had to
and Karen's text
through saying
I had my daughter
on Monday
played a game
and softball
on Thursday
oh god
that's so crazy
yeah
my goodness
me like that's
what that's not even
three full days
and you're running
like if you're playing
softball
I'm guessing
you're running to like
third, fourth base.
That's incredible.
Oh my God.
I mean, I can't really, we can't really imagine it.
No, we can't.
Any of that stuff just.
I can't imagine it, boys.
You know, I've been there twice and I just don't know how you're doing it.
And I want to say, like, well done, good on you,
but I also want to say, you're crazy.
You're allowed to rest.
