Starting point is 00:00:00 This is a podcast from Rover. If you're easily offended, keep listening. We love a challenge. This is the Clint Meg and Dan podcast. Take the edge off your mornings with Clint Meg and Dan. Hedge breakfast. Kilda, good morning. One past six on your Thursday.
Starting point is 00:00:17 Thank you for tuning in and joining us nice and early, choosing us first. Yeah. Good morning. It feels like this week's gone very fast. Yeah. Yeah. Hopefully that feels the same for you. It's nothing better than a fast week. Or it could be the worst thing ever.
Starting point is 00:00:31 Oh yeah, if you're loving life And you're just like, I just want it to slow down I'm having a holiday in Queenstown I was listening to a podcast the other day actually And they were saying The worst thing you can do in life Is wish your life away like rushing stuff My mum would say that to my stepdad
Starting point is 00:00:48 Every day, every day He was oh I can't wait till it's Friday I can't wait to it's Friday She's like you can't wish your life away Every day's a privilege My daughter's taking singing lessons Oh In the moment she's learning this
Starting point is 00:00:57 Do a Leepa song called Homestick It's beautiful, beautiful song and my daughter was singing to me while she's in bed because she's always trying to find ways to stall and she was just singing it to me and I do this quite often now I picture her like walking down the aisle at 50
Starting point is 00:01:11 and I think in those moments I would do anything to be transported back to when she was 11 years old just wanting to sing to dad and have my undivided attention and I pretend I've travelled back in time when I'm in the present honestly it's the best
Starting point is 00:01:27 I do it all the time too I do it when I think the kids have moved out and I'm in my 70s and I'm just... And you've been given 10 minutes with them again. You're like holding my baby, rocking them to sleep. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I love it. You feel a little bit like a crazy, but who gives you to hurt anyone? And you're being so much more present.
Starting point is 00:01:42 Oh, is your daughter going to sing her vowels? Like her dad did. She found out last night I did, and she went, ooh. Oh, good, good, good. Clint, Megan, Dan. Oh, my gosh. How did we enjoy waking up to the brand new alarm sound? We are currently on the hunt for New Zealand's greatest sound to wake up to.
Starting point is 00:01:59 is we looking for something new to finish the year with. And we had a suggestion of this. And I think it's a frontrunner. Yeah. The Jurassic Park theme by John Williams. Beautiful. I've changed my alarm every day since we started doing this. This was fantastic.
Starting point is 00:02:14 The front one. What were the other ones you've changed to? What I changed it to? I think I did another song, but I can't remember what it was, and I did another alarm that somebody suggested. But this, it started off slowly, and it didn't wake the kid, and it woke me. It was perfect.
Starting point is 00:02:28 The only annoying thing, was because I went and paid the dollar 89. If you got an iPhone, it doesn't just sync to your Spotify for free like Meg Samsung does. I had to go and buy it like it was like the early 2000s. Like an iTunes. Yeah, like an iTunes. $1.89 and then attach it. Problem was I can't work out how to turn the vibrating off.
Starting point is 00:02:48 So what I really had was... Such a bumon. Over the top of this the whole time and it wasn't pleasant. Okay. Because usually you love the vibrating. But it's just in this case it's not for you. Not that fun. I forgot to do it.
Starting point is 00:03:01 So I woke up to my normal iPhone sound. The didl-l-l-l-l-l-l-it-d-l-l-it thing. No, this was really good. Yeah. Hated. The dress-ap-part thing so far will be staying with mine. It will be tomorrow mornings as well. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:14 I'm going to change it as well. Although, after 8 o'clock this morning, I do have an alternative that I think a lot of people will be interested in, and it involves a New Zealand. I would say B-list celebrity. B-list? I wouldn't. On New Zealand level.
Starting point is 00:03:31 New Zealand level, maybe New Zealand level they could grace the A list. Give us a definition of an A and a C, so we know they sit somewhere in between your realm. Okay, New Zealand. Yeah. I would go A list would be. Lord.
Starting point is 00:03:46 No, she's international because she's made it overseas. I would say just A list. They're only famous in New Zealand, probably Chris Warner. Right. Oh, he's A list. A list. Yeah, and what's C? C list, Meg Mansell.
Starting point is 00:03:57 Thank you. Somewhere between Chris Warner and Meg Mansell is a person that is helping Dan. And then I'd probably be D. Yeah. Clicks I'd say, but I'd say, but he's straddling between C and B. Oh, where he loves to be. Between a couple of C's and B's. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:04:17 Clancy, Clint. Clint, Meg and Dan. Lesh go. This is the Overtinkers podcast. Yeah, we have a podcast that sits alongside our show Recap Pod. It's normally out by about 11 in the morning. Overthinkers. if you want a little bit more of Clint Meg and Dan
Starting point is 00:04:32 and it's a little bit more unfiltered, unregulated. Yeah, there was this woman who I found so funny because she said that she was searching for her dad as an adult. She finally found him and looked online all about him, found his Instagram, as Facebook, as you would do once you find out your dad's name and stuff.
Starting point is 00:04:50 And she saw that he had a sound cloud. If you don't know what that is, it's where you can upload your own music so that you can get discovered or people can discover you. Oh, he's a talented musician. So what an amazing thing to discover about your long-lost dad that he's a talented musician. What would you hope for when you hear you've got a sound club? I'd be thinking jazz musician.
Starting point is 00:05:06 Yes, I would think some sort of like, it would be cooler to do an instrument to be in a jazz band or something. If my dad played the saxophone, he was this brilliant saxophone. He was a judge. Oh, my God. Oh, I'd want him to be like a rock singer, you know, in a band or something. Maybe, maybe if it was throwback, like, oh, wow, he was really successful in a band when he was younger. Yeah, true.
Starting point is 00:05:23 So she's really excited. She now knows who her dad is she clicks on his soundclats. and this is what plays. She's filming her live reaction to hearing this. She was like, poor girl. She was like sometimes it's best that things are left is a mystery, I think. I like, I'd be like, dad. And we were like, and we can see what he's done with.
Starting point is 00:06:04 with his like, I guess, rhyming template there. Take your panties off, girl, throw them in the something, and then he just has to rhyme wherever he's thrown them with what he wants to do in the bedroom. And so Meg was like, come on, can I have a turn, can I have a turn, please, before we move on.
Starting point is 00:06:20 Please stop. I want to go. No, I was desperate not too. And Dan and I were like, oh, I don't know if we've got time. She was like, if you do one thing for me this year, please let me wrap. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Are we not playing either of yours? Dan and I didn't do it. We didn't do it. You guys have
Starting point is 00:06:34 stitch me. I'm so bad here. You guys did it like twice each and Clint was going for around three or four at one time and why is it all of a sudden that I'm like desperately not wanting to do when you're only playing mine. Brady I blame you completely on this. You could have gone and gone the audio even if they asked you
Starting point is 00:06:49 just for mine. When we were discussing this this morning you were making porridge. Yeah. And we went, any objections? No, okay, we'll just play Meg's audio. Take your panties off girl. And throw them where? And throw them in them.
Starting point is 00:07:04 She's literally holding them looking and me going, and no, no one. And throw them in the... Fisheries. Fischeries. Pick your panties off, girl. We're going to do it. Missionary.
Starting point is 00:07:16 Missionary and fisheries doesn't even really rhyme. So when she throws them in the fisheries, where are they landing specifically? Like a little boat or something. What do you mean? Let's move on, eh? Yeah. And then that was it.
Starting point is 00:07:28 None of us did any more examples. Meg, so I think we've got to stop throwing mega bow when it comes to rapping. You know what? Yeah. I really do. You know what? We persevere and persevere by.
Starting point is 00:07:39 Don't think you have it. Thanks. It's fine by me. Clint Megan Dan. Stinky B. Clint Megan Dan's scandal. In scandal, four women have accused Jared Ledo of criminal sexual misconduct
Starting point is 00:07:54 when they were ranging in ages 16 to 25 released in a documentary. Alarms started going off in my head. It's not one of he careful. By the time I get back, I would like her close to be off. It doesn't matter what your age is. It doesn't matter if you're underage. And that's when I realized he was in his early 30s.
Starting point is 00:08:11 What is it with these men? God. Like, come on, man. Jared Ledo 30 seconds to Mars. Yes. Oh, I'm thinking of... Oscar winner. I'm thinking of the talk show host.
Starting point is 00:08:24 Who am I thinking of? Oh, you're thinking of... Yeah, another way. What's his name, Leto? Well, he's got a big chin. Jay Leno. Right, okay, so you look that guy. No, Jared.
Starting point is 00:08:33 He played the Joker, 30 seconds to Mars, and four women have spoken about. With, I don't want to say receipts, but with receipts, you know, with, like, messages and stuff very much. I'm sick of this shit happening, hey? Like, it's just, like, it's rife with men, like, especially high-powered dudes like him that just think they're above the law. What am I, pisses me? What am I missing with the, like, 25-year-olds when he's 30? Like, what part am I missing? Because then that's fine, right?
Starting point is 00:08:59 He's having a relationship with 25-year-olds when he's 30. Yeah. The underage ones clearly. I see what's wrong with that. Yeah, yeah, sorry. I think they're talking now, but that was 16 to 19, I think, in the time. 16 to 19.
Starting point is 00:09:11 And they're coming out. Yeah, yeah, some of the middle. Now in the late mid-20s. Yeah, yeah. Wow. All right, and you thought we got away with it, eh? Yeah. All this time, nobody knew.
Starting point is 00:09:21 Yeah. Well, allegedly. Allegedly. I don't know who's being charged with Whitewing in trouble. Just hits in Auckland. The Edge, Clint, Megan Dan. So gross. Yeah. All right, first call of the day next.
Starting point is 00:09:32 Love it to be you. Oh, 800 the Edge. Give us a bell. Let us know what you're up to going into this weekend. Maybe it's a big one. Yeah. The more bigger, the better, to be honest. I'd like to think that really interesting things happen to people just going about their business,
Starting point is 00:09:45 then they go, damn, if I had a radio show, that'd be a great 8 o'clock. Do you think people think about that? I don't know. But I'm hoping to start training you early 6am is to start thinking like that. Well, it's your show as well if you're listening, so help us out. Clint, Meg and Dan. First call of the day. First call of the day.
Starting point is 00:10:02 Hey, Amy. From beautiful Queensland. Hello, how's it going? Good, Amy. Now, interesting, I'd have been interested to know what the temperature is in Queenstown this morning because it was 7 degrees in Auckland on my way to work this morning, so it must be freezing there. Hang on, let me have a look.
Starting point is 00:10:19 No, it's not too bad. I've just driven from Cromwell, and I've got the heat of fix to my car, so happy days. Okay, oh, good. That's nice. And you married a Spanish man. Did you meet him while he was travelling in Queensland? Green. No, I met him in Andorra.
Starting point is 00:10:34 Oh, when you were traveling. Yeah, yeah, nice. And you brought him back. What's that? You brought him back, nice. Yeah, well done. He'd be at home in Queensland, though, because I know Andorra's quite a mountainous place. So it's got a lot of similarities to Queensland.
Starting point is 00:10:51 Yep, true. How often to get out on the slopes when you live there in Queensland and your backyard is just so accessible? Oh, yeah, I do miss it. So we'd walk out of our apartment, put our snowboard on, and down the street to the gondola and up the mountain. Wow. Oh, my gosh. Yeah, and now we have to drive 45 minutes. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:18 It's still good, but yeah. Yeah. I mean, that's my dream. Like, obviously a lot of people from New Zealand just go on holiday in Queenstown. But it's becoming more common for people to live there, right? Yeah. It's just so hard because of the expense. Yeah, it is expensive there.
Starting point is 00:11:33 Yeah, but a nice free day out in Queensland going for a bit of a hike to the top of Roy's Peak. And I did it in Converse. I won't recommend it, but you can climb to the top in Converse. That's so Auckland, obviously. Yeah, I was like, I'm in the wrong shoes, but I still made it to the top. Like, it's not a crazy, crazy hike. It just takes a bit of time, but it's beautiful up the top.
Starting point is 00:11:54 Yeah, all the walks in Queensland is stunning. Well, great to chat to you this morning, eh? Yeah, you're good. I've lived here 12 years now, and I still haven't done it. A little bit embarrassing. Oh, wow. No, it's incredible. I'm not sure about the winter.
Starting point is 00:12:08 It might be a bit dicey up there in winter. Definitely don't hike to the top in converse. And you work for a, just quickly before we let you go, you work for a drug detection agency. Oh. Yes, I've just pulled into the car park. So we've got a big mission today. It's only my fourth day, so I've gone from hospital to this.
Starting point is 00:12:27 Oh, wow. I really hope I don't see anyone I know. Oh, that's all. Yeah, it's just workplace testing to make sure everyone's safe. Oh, when are you going up to radio? Yeah. You're not confiscating all the naughty drugs. Do you remember that famously there was that radio show?
Starting point is 00:12:42 No, no, I don't get to see anything. There was a radio show a few years ago. I won't name what it is, but they drug tested themselves on air. And there was at least two of them that failed, and they were taken off air. That was a shitstorm, wasn't it? Yeah, that was crazy. Anyway, yeah, I've had a couple of fails already. And that is why they don't.
Starting point is 00:12:58 I don't made me personally, sorry. Yeah, that's why they're. and drug test radio people anymore. Somehow, Clint kept his job, though. I don't know why. Thanks, I mean, thank you so much, McCulley is this morning, have the greatest fourth day.
Starting point is 00:13:10 Yeah. That's a career pivot, isn't it? From hospitality to drug testing. Yeah, cool. Yeah. I love a real hard career pivot. Yeah. It's like Dan wanting to be a bus driver when he's finished with radio. And a rubbish truck driver I found out yesterday, as well. Don't you think that looks fun? As long as you're not touching the rubbish.
Starting point is 00:13:25 If you're one of those ones with the claws, it looks like a fun job. I think I'd rather be early childhood, working out of a kindi. or I'd like to do like extreme sports like hooking people up to bungeys and stuff and push them off the bridge. Honestly, early childhood of the kindi is my idea of help.
Starting point is 00:13:39 Oh no, Clint loves kids. Absolute help. Yeah. Clint, Megan Dan. It's time to get naughty at 640. This, I thought was very, very naughty. Yeah, okay.
Starting point is 00:13:55 When you receive a package to work that you're not expecting to receive, you're like, oh, what's this? A lovely surprise. Sure. And then the package is a little bit strange, and it does start getting your heckles up. And can I have a little defense to myself
Starting point is 00:14:10 that I'm obviously sensitive to it because at one point, and I laughed now, one point I did have a bit of a stalker situation where HR had to get involved, to get involved there had to be security guards because he used to be in prison, we used to have the edge TV, he used to watch, and then started sending me stuff.
Starting point is 00:14:28 I always thought it would be... sending me beanies, sending me very strange letters. There's a bit of PTSD there. It's definitely PTSD there. So let me just put that little seed in before. Because... I say how crazy I am. If you put yourself in a big situation,
Starting point is 00:14:42 you open up was an A3-sized envelope and there's a mouse inside. A computer mouse. My first thought wouldn't be like, who's trying to kill me. Exactly. No. But I have had this before. But mouse being sent to you by a stalker. No, well, I thought...
Starting point is 00:14:57 So weirdly specific. It's so weird. I was like, what is this mean? Is this a cat and mouse? He's sending her bits of, like, de-membered computers. And next is it, like, keyboard. And then the last thing is the USB stack. I wish I could just be normal, but yeah, it got on my head.
Starting point is 00:15:14 But strangely, my stalker sent his address and phone number on the back. On the sender's details. That was the only information we had. Feel free to stalk me back. That was a little bit less concerning. I'm just going to call him together. And we said, sure, babe. So we turn the mic.
Starting point is 00:15:29 on and after the show we jumped into record and this is I guess the story behind the computer mouse inside a giant envelope. Are we all on? I need help. I'm scared to ask. I reckon it's laced with anthrax. Hello, speaking, Tim. Hi Tim, this is Meg from the Edge. I just got a package. We're just wondering, was they meant to be getting an Apple mouse from you? Yes, it's been delivered this morning. I've just left it at the reception. Yes, what was that for?
Starting point is 00:16:04 Yep Yeah, what was it? What's it for? What's it for? What's it for? That's for the mouse, right? The mouse, yes. Yes, no, it's been left at the media works reception there.
Starting point is 00:16:19 Yes, but what, but is it for me? Do I, sorry, I forgot. Why do I need a mouse? It's just, it's being left at the lost property. I'm one of the property managers for the Airbnb that you guys take couple days ago. Oh, Tim, yes, I understand. My mom left it at Airbnb is obviously going to sit here. Tim, I've been thinking it's laced with anthrax.
Starting point is 00:16:44 I've been so nervous about this. Tim, Meg has been, like, searching you across social media, thinking you're some weird stalker that sends lovely gifts to people. I'm so sorry, Tim. Okay, thank you very much. Wonderful. Not trying to kill me. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:16:59 Bye-bye. I don't trust you, Tim. She's gone, hung up on them already. And that's where some of these Netflix, like, murder documentary start with a sinister mouse, you know, like. Cat and mouse. Cat and mouse. I was thinking this mess. Have you got a headless cat sent to you, then I'd start getting worried.
Starting point is 00:17:16 Oh, Meg, I wish I had your confidence that I've received a piece of mail and I instantly went to stalker. Yeah. Clint Megan Dan's. Clint Megan Dan's. What you want to. What you got? A few stories Chuck on the radar. the 30th of July.
Starting point is 00:17:31 If you're a fan of the Cavendish banana. Oh, happy birthday, Dad. Oh, God. It's my dad's 70th birthday today. Oh, good. I reckon you've got it just in time before 7 a.m. See, we forgot yours last week, and I was about to forget my own dads, but it's only because I said the date. Wow. Happy birthday, John Randall.
Starting point is 00:17:49 I better text him. The best concrete pourer in the game. Should we give him a call now? Sing him happy birthday. Maybe next. It's a 70th. It's a big one. Yeah, it is. He doesn't look a day over. We should do. We should play Does Clint's dad know? That's a great idea.
Starting point is 00:18:02 That is a good idea. He'd love that my dad is, like Dan said, fantastic at pouring a driveway. But when it comes to knowing a celebrity and why they're famous, shocking. He's got his head in the sand. Does he like bananas? Yep. Okay, well, he's going to be gutted because the Cavendish Banana
Starting point is 00:18:18 is looking at an existential crisis at the moment. There's a disease going around the world that is affecting Cavendish Bananas. And they're predicting that there's going to be. a banana shortage in the next few months because all these poor bananas are getting affected and just being thrown out. Are there other types of bananas? There is a lot. But the main variety that you get in New Zealand is your classic Cavendish.
Starting point is 00:18:42 So they're looking at trying to solve this issue. So we'll keep your posts on the... I like the little finger bananas. Like those little mini ones. Oh, the bobby bananas? Fifteen of them in a bunch. Yeah, Bobby bananas. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:52 It are nice little snack, aren't they? Okay. All right. You might have heard about Henry Gibbs. I've been chatting with them. he's still in the hospital and not up for any interviews, but he has said, you can speak about my story. He's a diver, and he got, had a shark attack on him when he was in Fiji.
Starting point is 00:19:07 He said, we've been diving in the reef about an hour or two before moving off into clear a blue water. He said he'd seen this shark and he should have known that he could see it becoming more agitated, but he said most of my experience is that they are less aggressive. And I made the mistake of expecting this shark to behave the same way because it's a little bit smaller. he said I know my main takeaways are for sharks' behaviour starts to change in the dive, move on, get out, stick to plain black wet soups in the tropics
Starting point is 00:19:35 because he was wearing it, it looks a bit like coral his wetsuits, quite colourful, and don't judge the risk of a shark's size. A huge thank you to everyone who reached out to all the doctors and nurses and hospital staff who have been looking after me. He has uploaded a video. I'll see if I can get a bounce back shark
Starting point is 00:19:50 if you want to see it. I saw it just sort of was like, it looks quite deep and then it just like looks up at him and then just like flies out of him. It's so fast. Here's an idea. Here's a little step further. Just don't swim with sharks. Idiots. People that swim with sharks and go, oh, they're always so good and then they get attacked. I'm like, you deserve it. Well, he's spear fishing in their habit, and there were sharks around.
Starting point is 00:20:12 And if you've got, like, fish hanging from you that you've already spared, then I guess you're just asking for trouble. I don't swim with sharks. Leave them in their own habitat. I saw some video needed a step-by-step guide. If a shark is swimming towards you and trying to attack you, just gently put your hand on its nose and push it to the side. That's the problem with the human race. We're just so arrogant. He's had four surgeries and his skin graft later and it looks like he's going to make a full recovery if you want to see it
Starting point is 00:20:36 a text shark. And he also says no hard feelings towards the shark. I was in its environment hunting its food, wrong place, wrong time. So he is not at all anti-shark. Zoe Hobbs is the first New Zealand sprinter ever to win Commonwealth goal. She has set a Commonwealth Games record
Starting point is 00:20:52 at 10.93 seconds in the wet. You're a Commonwealth Games champion. Wild. What just happened? I don't know. I can't even put it into words. It's just crazy.
Starting point is 00:21:08 Wow, I love how excited the reporter was. She was just happy. It was like a sister sounding. So that means we've overtaken India. We're now eighth outright in the medal tally, just behind South Africa. Australia is still leading with 38 gold medals. The next second place is Canada with 13.
Starting point is 00:21:27 Wow, like a third. of the gold medals that Ozzy are rocking. They are cleaning up in Australia. Damn. Well, good to see Zoe, not just scoring ourselves a medal, but setting a record. Yeah, you want to see it. Go to SkySport, NZ, you can scroll down on the Instagram and see the incredible sprint you did. Amazing, eh?
Starting point is 00:21:44 Clint, Megan Dan. Your favourite game on the edge just hits. Easy. Here we go, it's one to seven. Hopefully you heard earlier. About 15 minutes ago, we gave you the letter already. start thinking just to make easy money even easier. If you can give us 10 answers, starting
Starting point is 00:22:02 with that letter inside 30 seconds with no repeated answers, we'll give you a thousand bucks. Meg's been reading the questions perfectly so far. Nice, nice pace. Not too fast that they can't hear them, but faster enough that's what you're going to do. You don't ruin their time. Exactly correct, Clint. That's what I'm trying to do with Jade.
Starting point is 00:22:19 Morning, Jane. Morning. So you work at the local campground in Martinborough? I do, yeah. Okay, what do you do? Are you at reception? Are you doing, I don't know what other stuff there is to be done? Everything.
Starting point is 00:22:33 We do a bit of gardening, reception, cleaning, maintenance. Nice. Okay. And you get free rent? Discounted, but yes. That's good. That's fun because the only time I get to go to a campground is, like, using my annual leave in summer. And you're doing it all year round, your lucky thing.
Starting point is 00:22:52 Exactly. And my son gets to meet all the kids coming through, so he loves that. That's great. So he makes so many friends. but friends that he'd bond with and then never see you ever again. It's a transient life, campgrounds, man. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:04 I'd like to get older, he'll be able to connect with them longer. Sure. Jay, the letter this morning is V. V for what, Dan? V for, say the word that you were saying off. No, I can't say that. Oh, it's a body part, vagina. Right, V for vagina.
Starting point is 00:23:21 Here we go, Jay. All right, 30 seconds on the clock. Your time starts at the end of Meg asking your first question. luck. Perfect. Give me something you buy from the supermarket. A V. A boy's name.
Starting point is 00:23:38 Victor. A brand. Vasachi. A country. Vietnam. Something you buy to pharmacy. Vaseline. A female celebrity.
Starting point is 00:23:58 Zerafaminga. Something you'd organise for a wedding. Time, Kate. No offence, but you should have chucked your hubby on, I reckon. He was good. That's the thing with getting someone else to help you. It takes to take. time between them saying and you telling us.
Starting point is 00:24:16 You might have gotten there. Because he's not on the show. He's relaxed. He's relaxed. Whereas if you'd swat rolls, you probably would have been feeding in the answers. Oh, my heart's crazy. You had three to go. An athlete, a six-letter word in a city in Europe,
Starting point is 00:24:31 which I think you could have done, but it was just the speed. I'm so sorry, Jade. No, that's cool. Awesome. Well, thank you guys so much. Thanks, Jane. Good chatting with you, babe. Back again at 8 o'clock if you want to crack easy money. Dan in about 20 minutes is going to share one of the most awkward,
Starting point is 00:24:49 embarrassing interactions between him and our engineering team here at work. Yeah, I've caused a major security leak online. Have you done your training or do you keep getting the email saying, Dan, your training is. I ignore that. You're so naughty. Your security training is overdue by three years. Clint Meg and Dan.
Starting point is 00:25:07 Ariana Grande on the edge is five past seven. Clint McGinn Dan. I didn't realize Meg was telling me that, Obviously that song's about the guy who ended up leaving his whole family for her. And she's like, damn, I hate that I made you love me because now we're not together. So it was kind of awkward. She's gone back to her ex. Yeah, Ricky.
Starting point is 00:25:24 He's in the song, Thank you, Nex. She goes, wrote some songs about Ricky. Now I listen and laugh. And now she's changed it when she performs saying wrote some songs about Ricky. We always find our way back. It must be so hard to be a famous person, like that famous, like Ariana and keeping down a relationship. Do you know what so funny? Of course.
Starting point is 00:25:43 Ariana Grande's ex took Ariana back. I don't like the other way. Yeah, the SpongeBob guy. Yeah, I don't have there taking it in there. Nah. Hey, um, we've done this one before. They're a 10, but. And sometimes that little, um,
Starting point is 00:26:00 blemish on their record is enough to only remove, say, one point. Sometimes it's enough to remove six or seven points. It's like Clint. He's a 10, but he sung his vows at his wedding. What does that make me? I reckon it takes you down to a four. Yeah. Finally enough, my daughter and I weirdly talked about that yesterday.
Starting point is 00:26:18 She had no idea because she's taking singing lessons. And I said to her, the song she's learning, Homestick by Dua Leeper. Yeah, I don't know it. Beautiful song, absolute B-side. I've never heard it before. And I said, oh, I feel like this could be a beautiful song to play it. And like your wedding. And she goes, oh, I could sing it.
Starting point is 00:26:35 And I was like, oh, my God, vibing with my daughter. I was like, I sang at my wedding. And my daughter goes, ooh, I was joking. Burn from his daughter Yeah and good I'm glad to see that she's not following in those Okay so let's try this one If the number is seven
Starting point is 00:26:50 There are 10 but What loses them three points in your eyes Oh God it could be any They're 10 but You already dated them once and it didn't end that well Oh that would be a bit lower for me Because are you ever going to make a comeback for that Yeah when you see them later on
Starting point is 00:27:09 And they're 10 you go damn Does that make them now a seven? I saw a girl the other day on TikTok saying he's a 10, but he's got hairy nostrils. Does that take him to a 7? Yeah. Like I feel like he's got hair, like lots of hair coming out of his nostrils.
Starting point is 00:27:22 That is a bit of an ache. He's a 10, but... How does he lose three points in your eyes? I would say he's got like a really annoying best mate or something. Oh, that's good. Yeah, seven. I would say like his best mate's good. kind of a drop kick.
Starting point is 00:27:41 Like a Saturday's for the boys best mate. Yeah, yeah, kind of melee. Oh, come on, mate. You worked already. That would be like, I'm still going to stick with you, but he's, can we drop him?
Starting point is 00:27:51 True. Okay, what if the number's three? They're 10, but what takes into a three if they're a 10 to start? They're sleeping around and sleeping with other people. They only takes them to a three. Okay. I'd say they're a 10, but they don't like
Starting point is 00:28:04 kids. Oh, yeah. Especially if you like kids. If you want kids and then they don't, That is a pretty fake. It's already to not want kids, but if you don't like them, like it all. It's more common now. I think it's more common to be okay with not having kids.
Starting point is 00:28:17 They're maga. Only a three? No, probably lower than that, actually. I'm trying to think of something. Yeah, that would probably do it for me. It is interesting, the different perspective that we all have in terms of how many points it would lose them. Sarah's come through with one. He's a 10, but chooses with mouth open.
Starting point is 00:28:33 I think that takes them down to a six for me. That's a nine. That's an easy fit. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, just breathe through your nose. Yeah, 8, 9. Yeah. All right, 0-800 the edge.
Starting point is 00:28:45 Give us a call. If you've got a partner and you're like, yeah, my partner's a 10. But he or but she, let us know what is their downfall, and we'll see how many points it's cost them. Maybe not too many. More, more than you think. Yeah, true. Oh, 8, under the edge.
Starting point is 00:29:00 Or you can fire us a text. 3343. Let's take McCray. Just keep watching. It's 9 past 7, Clint Meck and Dan. The Clint Meg and Dan podcast. a 10, but what is their downfall, and we'll let you know how many points
Starting point is 00:29:13 we believe it's cost them as a partner? Okay, he's a 10, but he's exactly my height. I think that's fine, isn't it? Look at Tom Holland and Zendaya, he's in theory a short compared to her. It doesn't make any difference. Isn't that a good thing to be the same in height, logistically? Yeah, Kassim.
Starting point is 00:29:28 It's when they're like way taller or way shorter than you, that's when there's an issue. I've got a friend whose partner is way taller than her. I think it might, what is it take them to a 9? Or do you think it keeps them at a 10? I think there's still a 10. Unless you really like to wear high heels and that's a big thing for you. But I would say that doesn't bother me, 10.
Starting point is 00:29:45 Okay. What about this one that someone's text through? He's a 10, but smells like B-O. Oh, mate. He's like a 5-4. 5-4. Yeah. That's one thing you can fix, though, with a good.
Starting point is 00:29:57 Exactly. Lazy. But it tells me so much more. You know, there's the fact that he can't smell it or doesn't care that he does. It's a hygiene issue, is it? Hygiene, washing. I don't know. Okay.
Starting point is 00:30:10 If it's consistent, one or two times. There'll probably be a lot of girls with this problem. He's a 10, but he never comes home when he says he's going to be home. It depends how often it is. If it's a reciprocal, I think. Well, if he never does, then I think that it's a respect thing, so he goes way down for me six. Huh. Really?
Starting point is 00:30:31 If it's a night out type of thing, like if it's on a Saturday. But if it's every time. But Saturdays are for all the boys and girls seem to, they do forget that. sometimes. I really do. It was good of Rachel. Hi, Rachel. Your hubby is a 10, but...
Starting point is 00:30:45 But he snores like a... Like I've got a chainsaw right beside my head. Oh, on that, baby. Yeah, Rachel, I know what that's like. Very much so, so... So two-thirds of the day he's a 10. It's only at nighttime that he's got his floor. Is he worse when he's drinking too?
Starting point is 00:31:07 100% worse. So we're dropping down to. or five there. Yeah, yeah. He uses his five hot points for snoring, Jesus. Why have you thought about a sleep apnea machine that stops at those like Darz-Vader mask
Starting point is 00:31:18 situations? Yeah, but then it would drop him to a seven too. Oh, so you can't win. You can't win. Oh, Rach, do you want to weigh in on this one? Someone's texting. There are 10, but they're a duck walker, or pigeon toad, I imagine. What's a duck walker?
Starting point is 00:31:32 You're opposite of pigeon toad. I have a little bit, I think. Meg does it. Instead of like, toes in, it's toes out. Oh, yeah, that's just a watch. Just a wadler. Do I do it? Ballet dancer, ballet walkers.
Starting point is 00:31:44 Yeah. Do I walk with my feet out? The ballet walk. And it causes a waddle. Clay. I don't know you. You said you do that. I didn't say you do that.
Starting point is 00:31:53 She just said she walks with a feet pointed out. Not that she waddles. No, but your feet aren't pointed out. A waddle is a side thing. Oh, we're both weird walkers. Meg, I'm a toe walker. You're a wodler. Got the two of us together.
Starting point is 00:32:04 We can't procreate. What do you think? If they're a bit of a funny walker, what do they go down to? Well, I don't know My dad used to watch Montepiton. There was a Ministry of Funny Walks And so, you know, I think actually
Starting point is 00:32:17 Maybe that was Maybe that's quite quite cool. I don't know, I'm okay with a funny walk Okay, thank you, Rachel, we're still tense Again, thank you Rachel. Shout up to my fellow tow walkers, we're cool again. All right, Shania, morning Too long in the, what is it?
Starting point is 00:32:31 Yeah. And the jolly jumper. The jolly jumper? Yeah. There's nothing to do with that. Shania, he's a 10 butt. He, every, oh, fixes everybody's things before he
Starting point is 00:32:41 fixes ours. He's always offering to help. It's nice, but it's annoying. Yeah. Yeah, we have a half finished house. It's a lovely, generous trade. But it's a half finished house still. Yeah, but it's annoying because you're seeing him put time aside for others, but not
Starting point is 00:32:57 never you. Yeah, and you get the burst bits of them. So you've got a partner that says yes to everybody else, but then literally my wife. Isn't doing the most. So I say they stay a 10. Have we noticed it's all just women complaining here? I think she's.
Starting point is 00:33:13 Oh, what, nine? They'll complain about anything. He's a given guy. He's generous and they're still complaining. This is me off, man. Can't win as a man. Yeah, that's what they say. It is hard.
Starting point is 00:33:25 It is hard being a straight white guy. Do what about your wife then? I can't because she's perfect. There you go. All right, why is our engineering team riding Dan at the moment? and also going to be coming into the studio to give him a telling him what he did.
Starting point is 00:33:41 I'm taking the day chart for that because they shouldn't be writing me really. The Clint Meg and Dan podcast. If you think of the three of us, who do you think is most likely to get in trouble? Ooh, Dan. Because I'm a bad boy, a bit of a sort of. I just think you don't read things.
Starting point is 00:33:56 You don't read good either. I mean, I'm glad to like Goody Two Shoes. Yeah, I said to Meg, I will never get in trouble for the same thing twice. No, no, no, we don't like that. I went through. high school, five years of high school without a single detention. Oh, I was always in detention
Starting point is 00:34:11 for stupid stuff as well. You know, like not wearing separate shoes, like different matching shoes. And I wagged with my mates. I just went to the nurse first and got like a pass saying I forgot my football boots or whatever and then I knew if we got caught, I had to get out of jail free card. So we've got a photo shoot today.
Starting point is 00:34:27 And yesterday Meg pressured me into getting a spray tan. In no way did I do that. I didn't even get a spray tan. You had already booked it. And it got cancelled and you're like, should I do it? And yeah, you look lovely. You look really hot.
Starting point is 00:34:41 Yeah. And you know what I do? Today now I do look good. There was a touch and go situation yesterday where I think I was going too dark to a point where I was going to offend people. But luckily it's tone down now. Anyway, so I booked it yesterday and I got, when I was booking it, a thing popped up on the work computer I was doing it on.
Starting point is 00:34:59 And it said, you know, are you a robot? One of those situations where you have to like highlight the traffic lights or whatever. So I had it. And then another thing popped up with. the loading screen and it started loading and I was like oh what's this and exited out of it not thinking anything of it got in my car went to go home after work and I get a text
Starting point is 00:35:17 from someone in the media works at security okay okay they said hi Dan we got an alert this morning around 856 which was when I was booking the tan it looks like you might have clicked a fake capture window just checking because it has caused a security breach oh my gosh And I said, oh my God, yes, I did.
Starting point is 00:35:39 That did seem weird. And he said, no worries, we picked it up on our side. Do you remember what happened? And now you go, is the truth worse than a lie? Are they going to find out anyway? And so then I didn't want to admit that I was booking a fake tan. So I went back and said, yes, I was making a booking online, and it popped up questioning if I was a robot, etc, etc.
Starting point is 00:36:01 Thinking that that would be the end of it. Then I get another text. do you remember the site you visited to make the booking? Like, is that relevant? And I was like sitting in the car for a minute. I'm like, what do I do here? You're like, when they come in and speak my computer,
Starting point is 00:36:19 I'm going to be five shades darker than I was yesterday and they're going to know. They're going to know. So I said yes, it was for tanandasitinthecity.com. Right. Which isn't a website that will give you a virus, by the way. It was just coincidentally at the time Dan was booking his tan. It could have happened anywhere.
Starting point is 00:36:37 It could have happened on any website. Yeah, Jess and the team hope at Tennant City are lovely. Oh my God, so worried he's going to get shunned out of tanning because of Dan's mistake. I've never seen you panic so much. Can I stress? They are very much above board. They do great tans. I've never seen him panic so much so quickly.
Starting point is 00:36:56 If you ruin that gravy train for me, I will strangle you. Is that the color you use? Gravy train. It's like, I'll just get it again. Gravy train three. Oh my God, I remember years ago, Channing Tatum ended up getting like Sixiest Man Alive or whatever on the cover of GQ or something
Starting point is 00:37:12 And he was relatively new to the industry And I was like, Channing Tatum, I know the name, who is it? So I started searching photos of Channing Tatum And some shirtless ones and whatever came up And eventually it gave the work computer a virus Eventually, how much did you have to see that you knew him on? And I remember doing the same thing without me What was I clicking on at the time?
Starting point is 00:37:32 So I think I've given our media couple to a virus. They're going to come to, he said he's going to come down about 7.30 this morning, between 7.30 and 8, to look through my computer. Is that the worst thing for anybody to have their computer, like you look through?
Starting point is 00:37:46 Yeah. I'd love to speak to people if we take some calls next on Glow Up to Blow Up, where you had a beauty disaster happen right before the big event or the big day. Because so often then, like yourself, you go, you know what? I've got these very important photos that we're going to be taking that are going to go on billboards and buses for the next two years. maybe I'll get a spray tan, which is risky if you don't normally do them
Starting point is 00:38:08 the day before a shoot. And sometimes people decide to do something drastic with their appearance just before a big event and it doesn't always go how you'd hope. Like you go and dye your hair, but it comes out the completely wrong colour. I did that before the TV Awards. The afternoon of, and my hair,
Starting point is 00:38:24 I swear to God, was purple. Yeah. That sort of thing. I mean, the more crazy, the better. Yeah, what was the big beauty disaster right before the big day? Did you get your eyebrows trimmed and they completely took them off.
Starting point is 00:38:35 Oh, I've had somebody get their eyebrows wax, and they wax out their eyelashes, there's waxed on them, yep. Okay, glow up to blow up. You've got a story, 0800 there. Clint, Megan, Dan. Oh, my gosh. We'd love to hear from you if you had a beauty disaster
Starting point is 00:38:48 happened to you right before the big event or the big day because a lot of us are guilty of going, you know what, I might try something different because I've got this really important day in these, in Dan's case, new edge promo photos that we're going to be taken after the show today, that we'll pop up on the back of buses, hopefully somewhere in your town,
Starting point is 00:39:07 reminding you that you need to listen to the show more. People would have been looking at the photos and being like, who's that guy? Who's the black guy? No, I just got a really dark tan. Left it on too long as today afternoon. When you send us the photos, everyone was like, wash it off now.
Starting point is 00:39:21 Wash it off. My wife got in the car and she was like, get home, drive, go over the speed of it. We need to get home. Did you count to five for me? One, two. Oh, you weren't doing Mississippi. Okay.
Starting point is 00:39:31 It was facsimulously. I was a night. Anyway, this text here, day before my wedding, I rinsed an egg white hair mask with scalding hot water. I accidentally scrambled the baked eggs into every strand of my hair. They looked like giant dandruff bits
Starting point is 00:39:49 and my head stunk like Rotorua. So that's a lesson in it. Yeah, that's something you just have to sit there and kind of scrape out, I guess. My goodness me. Never heard of an egg white hair mask. Yeah, yeah. for protein.
Starting point is 00:40:02 Yeah. Sarah, good morning. Good morning. What happened the day before the big event? I ruined my wedding dress. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:40:13 No, what were you doing? Were you trying to wear it the day before? No, so we noticed there was a mark on it, and I was like, shit, we're not got time to get assorted. So I thought, okay, we'll use the makeup white and just try, like, blob it out, but it made it, like, 20 times worse. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:40:27 And we were, like, trying to get into a dry cleaners as fast as we could, like, oh, well, see if we can do our best, we might not be able to get it out. And I'm just like, panic, panic. It was awful. What happened? So did they get it out? They got most of it out. It was still there, but it wasn't so noticeable. Right. So they sort of say, so did you end up wearing it just with the stain? What did you? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:40:52 Pretty much. Did you figure out what the mark was? No. I think that's one of those things that people wouldn't notice. You know, they're looking at you. They're looking at the beautiful bride. They're not looking at the little stain. And then you end up doing the trash, the dress thing, those photo shoots that a lot of people do.
Starting point is 00:41:07 Oh, I've never done that. Okay. So the person that's doing our makeup today, Sam, joins us on the line. Morning, Sam. Hey, Sam. Hi, Sam. Hi, okay, what did you do? I'll see you guys do.
Starting point is 00:41:19 Yes. But I've got a few stories for you, but I reckon the worst one was this bride that I had. Her, she got a spray can on top of peeling sunburn. Oh my gosh, you just got to peeled off in like big circly layers. And really discolored scales. Oh, my God. And you just keep peeling throughout the day. And then Sam gets the job of like, hey, could you just fix this?
Starting point is 00:41:47 Can you touch it up my back and my shoulders and maybe a bit on my neck? Can you just sort it out in like five minutes? That's shocking. Oh, wow. Thanks, Sam. In their mind, they would be like, oh, it's sunburn. I'll get a tan over it to try and kind of, you know, even it out. Oh my God, the day before I started
Starting point is 00:42:03 a new job, brand new first impressions, I was really looking forward to it, I asked for natural lip filler. I left looking like a blow-up doll. Oh, no! It was overfilled and was everywhere. I was miserably embarrassed until it dissolved. Oh my goodness me. I was
Starting point is 00:42:19 a bridesmaid in the next day my hairstylist randomly smeared burgundy hair dye across my forehead to dye my invisible brows left me with two sets of purple eyebrows. This is a hard thing. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:42:34 Yeah. Oh my God. Next on the show, could this be the worst voicemail to receive from a guy after a first date? So you think it went well and you're cool, he's nice. Oh, look if you. And then you receive this voicemail. Okay. It has the internet divided?
Starting point is 00:42:51 Clint, Megadam. Lesh, go. I don't know the bro's name, but it's not really important. All you need to know is that he went on a first date with a girl. And then I'm not sure how long between. going home from date one and sending this voicemail how much time existed. Okay.
Starting point is 00:43:06 But not enough. Whatever it was. Never enough. Never enough. Yeah. It's long. I think it gets more and more crazy as it goes on. Once you've had enough, you can just let me let me know. This was a voice message.
Starting point is 00:43:20 First day, I'm gone home. This is the message. Okay, here we go. And you get a message from the guy that you, I think by all accounts probably had a lovely time with. And then you're like, oh my God, is voice message me already? Weird. Had a good time tonight.
Starting point is 00:43:30 Definitely think you are lost. However, I would love to, if we're going to go to your place on Thursday, I mean, I am looking to have that physical intimacy to see if, like, I am sexually compatible with you. So, like, if I'm going to come over, like, I would be hoping to, like, hook up, have sex, have a good time, have, like, that romantic spark and that physical spark there for my own sake. because it's hard for me to continue dating if dating someone and seeing them if I don't know if I'm sexually compatible. So I know you said I don't know about that. So like I guess my thing is is like what would be the point of me coming over then if we're not going to like hook up and like cuddle and like be intimate with each other? And if that's what you don't want, that's fine. But like I think we should just like end it here then respectfully just because I.
Starting point is 00:44:29 First date, that's fine. Like, you want to get to know each other? I'm all about that. But, like, I am looking to have that physical aspect there. I'm sick of them. And I don't want to continue seeing someone if I don't know. Right. Yeah, that's enough.
Starting point is 00:44:42 I say, I think he's a bit of a shitty person, but I think it's great that he came forward and just said that. And now she can just see you later. I don't think he's going to have much success in his dating history in life. We're the internet is divided, I think, Meg, going so great that a guy would show his colors. so early so that she can go, thank God I didn't waste more time with him. The fact that he's so hung up on, like, if there's, like, you know, I need to know if we're
Starting point is 00:45:07 sexually compatible, whatever that means. But also, by date too. Has he not heard of groundwork and, like, putting in the graft? And the fact that she may not, you know, it's not, I meet you twice and suddenly I need, I'm really to have sex with you. She's invited you over to her house. Great. Like, that's when you start grafting when you get there.
Starting point is 00:45:27 If you're dating the one that you end up spending the rest of your life with, man, don't fast-board the beginning. The beginning's the most exciting, fun part that you'll never get back again. And I know you have other exciting things as you've been together a long time. But, man, I don't know, but the internet's going, this guy's a POS, never do that. And then the other part of the internet are going, no, this is great. If guys are this honest about their intentions and what they want, then they waste little time for women who don't want that.
Starting point is 00:45:55 But then I would be very surprised if that's attractive to any woman, him doing that message. I don't think it is. As I said, I don't think he will have much success, but I think it's fantastic to be able to weed him out early. Someone said essentially what he's trying to do is extract consent before they're even in the situation. And other people are then turning around and saying he's entitled to have his boundaries. And he's able to ask somebody what it is that he's wanting. And if they want the same thing called if they don't, well, I think he's a walking red flag, but I'm glad that that girl was able to be told early enough.
Starting point is 00:46:31 So you're interestingly, Meg, you're kind of giving him a pass in a way. No, no, I think, as I said, walking red flag, don't think he's going to have success, think he's a bad person, but I'm happy for her that she didn't waste her time. Is there anyone that's willing to sort of stick up for him in this situation? Yeah, how do we feel about his directness in dating? Do we want that because we're sick of wasting time? Yeah. Or are we like, no, that is not at all what we want.
Starting point is 00:46:54 There needs to be a middle ground between him and the other stuff. I would so rather know he's like that early on than, like, in three months. Oh, 800th edge. Clint Megan's End. StinkyB. World's worst voicemail to receive from a guy after a first date. I'll just play 10, 15 seconds of it. We missed it.
Starting point is 00:47:11 I think you are lovely. However, I would love to, if we're going to go to your place on Thursday, I mean, I am looking to have that physical intimacy. It goes on for almost two minutes. about he pretty much is like he wants to have guaranteed sex if he's going no physical and the fact that he is you're right Clint
Starting point is 00:47:32 he's like already kind of trying is getting consented like well you you knew that if I was coming around I'm having sex yeah you agree to it in the voice flag that's the red flag you knew yeah it's dividing the internet because I guess in a way some people are saying he's just saying I'm not looking for a relationship or anything
Starting point is 00:47:47 serious I'm only looking for the physical and there are a lot of people that are just looking for that but maybe it's the voicemail and the way he went about it because somebody said if a man ever sent me a three-minute voice memo of anything he's blocked. And I think that's the view of most people, but there is some people that are willing to maybe stick up for a morning, Luke. Hey. You said you're 50-50 on this. Explain. Yeah, yeah. I definitely see where he went wrong. Like he is definitely came on 110% and he probably should have come back on like maybe 50%.
Starting point is 00:48:23 But like, I look at it in that sense of like, if you reverse the roles, if she called up and said voice memo, you know, really like the night, yada, yada, yada, you're coming around for dinner next week. This is the ground wheels. This is what I expect. This is what I don't expect sort of thing. And he decided that was the red flag. Everyone would be saying that he was bad because he didn't respect her boundaries and that sort of thing.
Starting point is 00:48:49 But in this case, he probably. should have gone, I'm looking for a more intimate night, yada, yada, yada, without actually turn around and going, oh, and by the way, if I'm coming around, we're deathly doing it. I think that if a woman... I think that's where it went too hard. Do you think if a woman said a voice messenger said, hey, I expect sex on the second date round and he said, oh, that's not really for me.
Starting point is 00:49:08 Do you think people would think he's an asshole? I don't think there'd be people that would, if he said, no, thanks, I'm not really into sex the second nine round. That's not for me. Do you think that people would still be like, well, he should do it? not that he should do it I just think is that that social expectation
Starting point is 00:49:25 on men and women that's different if he says no I don't I'm not looking for sex on the second date I want something more emotional
Starting point is 00:49:32 he would get slack no matter what I disagree I disagree with you Luke I do disagree I think it is different for men and women I think it just is
Starting point is 00:49:43 intrinsically and because of past histories with this sort of thing I mean I get what you mean look and this is why the internet is all on the fence about it because they're saying, well, he's expressing his needs and his boundaries, and then that other person can say, yep, cool, or no, you're not for me.
Starting point is 00:49:58 And how direct do people want men and women to be when dating? I think we do need to be more direct. I do. I think there's a lot of game playing, well, when I was in the pool, I think, yeah, Tinder. There's a lot of game playing, like, waiting to text back and all that stuff. Just be, life's too short. Be truthful. Hi, Laura.
Starting point is 00:50:16 You've got to be particular about how you go about it. Laura? How are you? What are your thoughts on the voice memo? I find it's the tone, to be honest, that's not sitting right with me. It feels a little bit manipulative and peer-pressurey. And what I was saying in my text is if you're a very insecure person or you've got attachment-style issues, a guy saying that to you could make a girl feel like she has to give it up to keep him.
Starting point is 00:50:45 And there are girls like that. And so, like, I admire me. men that are honest and I've met men that are honest and they're like I'm just looking for something sexual and that's awesome because you know up front but it was the tone behind it that felt really manipulative yeah I agree completely in the fact that if she does go around and then she changes her mind he could say but you knew this is what was happening you agreed to it yeah there's a difference between going I'm just after a sexual relationship to going I want to make love and like if I'm coming around I'm expecting sex and if you change your mind you told me I could
Starting point is 00:51:19 Yeah, there's... That's what's the replay. Yeah. Way with words. No need to go to anybody up. Yeah. There's being honest about your intentions and then just...
Starting point is 00:51:31 And whatever that guy was. Honesty in the dating realms, please. Not that I'm still dating. It's making it sound like I'm just off at a current. Clint Megan. Your favourite game on the edge just hits. Easy money.
Starting point is 00:51:46 One past dates. Here we go. 30 seconds on the clock. All right. Give us 10 answers starting with the letter me gives you in 30 seconds with no repeated answers. Cash is yours. Yeah, it's Chloe here. Hi.
Starting point is 00:51:58 Oh my God, I'm so nervous that I actually got through. Yeah, first time, long distance, best. That's another right one. It's this one. First time caller. Okay. Now, Chloe, this is great that you're nervous because you need to use those nerves.
Starting point is 00:52:14 Okay, use them. Passion. Oh, you really? Because I think she probably... I'm shaking. No, okay, no, you need to calm down. Okay. Just calm down.
Starting point is 00:52:22 Take a deep breath. Just repeat after me. My name's Chloe and I matter. My name's Chloe and I matter. Chloe is really good understress. Chloe's a mum and a vet nurse. She's being in stressful situation. She knows what she's doing.
Starting point is 00:52:37 Okay, now Chloe, just do this. Yeah. Go, ooh-a, ooh-oo-oo-oo. Don't do it. Chloe. You don't do that. Don't do that. Dan, the pal's going to see.
Starting point is 00:52:48 No one ever does what he says. Yeah, no one is true. Chloe, your letter this morning is I. Dan, I'm cutting you off. I'm Chloe, and I'm cool. Chloe, your letter this morning is I. I, oh my God, I thought I had to pick it. I was like, yeah, I'm going to choose F, but I.
Starting point is 00:53:02 I love me. No, you don't get to pick it. Why would you get a picket? No, yeah. Okay, I, I, aye, aye, aye, I. Are we ready? Okay, I'm going to go look at the alphabet in my son's room. I.
Starting point is 00:53:13 Okay, good. No, you should already know what I. No, don't know. That'll confuse you. No, like just so I can envision it, you know? because I feel... Okay, I'm in here. I'm in the room.
Starting point is 00:53:23 I don't think that's going to help yet, but okay, here we go. I'm not hopeful. Okay, Chloe, here we go. Okay. Give me a country. Oh my God. I. Ireland.
Starting point is 00:53:33 A movie. Is that a movie? Holy Shemoli, a movie. Can I... Oh, we can't go back, eh? You can pass. Oh, no. You don't need your back?
Starting point is 00:53:43 Pass. Something you can play. Um, aye. Oh, no. See, I'm terrible at this. Like, I soki? Hi, I'm hockey. I'm an instrument or something.
Starting point is 00:53:55 You know, you could do that. Okay, the next one is a way to communicate. Um, oh my gosh. I am terrible. We were able to give her the answers because I knew we weren't going. Chloe, I'm not, I'm, that was a shocker. Okay, I think it's probably one of the worst. But it's one of the most fun, like, hangs we've had.
Starting point is 00:54:13 Yeah, yeah, we've loved having you. I mean, you're not winning any money. Oh my gosh. You know what? Okay. That's okay. Like Meg said you haven't won money, but I feel like we've all won a friend. Well, we have. We have.
Starting point is 00:54:24 I'm so embarrassed. Did go into your kids' room help in any way? Absolutely not. I'm just nervous. And I said to my sister you say, if I get through, I don't want to call because if I get through, I'm terrible at this. But like, I won't get through. So I'll just call anyway. Right.
Starting point is 00:54:40 But here I am. Yeah. Embarrassing yourself. You're underestimated. I know. Now just Chloe, just repeat after me, just because I lost on National Radio. doesn't mean I'm not cool. Say that. There you go. No, I am cool. Yes, I'm still cool.
Starting point is 00:54:55 Thanks, Chloe. Keep calling us, okay? Maybe not for that game. Yeah. Clint, Megan Dan. I always got arrested in America. We're playing a game called craps in a Vegas hotel where you have to roll the dice and you have to throw it across the table.
Starting point is 00:55:07 I was getting it wrong. I'm like so uncool. Because you've got to hit the back end. And so the man that was running the table. You need to throw them harder or I'm going to have to kick you off the table. And it came around to my turn again. I threw them.
Starting point is 00:55:18 One dice. hit the back wall perfectly. The other one went straight into the face of this huge musly dude hits him right in the nose and he goes, Who throws a dash at another man's face? Like that, and I'm like, oh my God, I'm so sorry.
Starting point is 00:55:32 I just didn't know how to play. He's like, that's a soul! His face starts bleeding. I started crying. That turns out I had to explain to the police that I was just really uncoordinated and they started laughing. The guy then dropped charges
Starting point is 00:55:44 and he was like, now I know just because you're crying that it wasn't a thing. I remember it vividly. It gives me PTSD to the point where I feel anxiety after it. But I full cried. And I'm not ashamed to admit it. I'm going to come in here and say it's a beautiful thing that you're opened and happy to cry. Men cry.
Starting point is 00:56:00 And it wasn't just tears like a well-up. You know, it was full like, I just don't know. And fair enough. Crying at a newborn baby or crying when you see like a dad put his daughter's artwork on the fridge and his door. That's fine. Crying because you don't want to get beaten up. That wasn't beaten up. It was arrested.
Starting point is 00:56:18 And the mirror. Clint, you cried in a movie when we're on an aeroplane together. It was about wrestling. It was about wrestling. So don't even try and Judge Dan for crying, and you were, what, 57 at that point? Thanks, Meg. Yeah, you get him, old boy. Why are you?
Starting point is 00:56:33 Pit bull over stuff. Yeah. So anyway, so I was about to get arrested. They arrested me for assault in America in a Vegas, like... Casino? Yeah, the casino. He's like, what do they call this place? You play Black Day.
Starting point is 00:56:45 Yeah. And I just started blubbing. I'm just so sorry. I can't stress. I remember going, I can't stress how much I'm uncoordinated. That's just me. I remember what?
Starting point is 00:56:55 My wife cried in Vegas as well. Oh, to get out of something. Yes, that's right. We ended up getting picked up by a limousine and they took us out to the desert to try and sell us a timeshare so that we could get free tickets to Terry Fader,
Starting point is 00:57:08 who was a ventriloquist dummy expert and was on America's Got Talent. Anyway. And you're taking the piss out of me. Yeah. We ended up after three hours of being sold timeshares got so broken down that we agreed, and we signed up to a timeshare in Palm Springs.
Starting point is 00:57:23 Obviously, when I got back home later that night, sanity set in at what we're done. So we had to go back out to the desert to get out of the timeshare. They don't pick you off it in a little bit for that. By the way, what is the time share? It's kind of like this accommodation that you own with a whole lot of other people when you can block out certain dates to use it. That sounds great. Well, yeah, if you're going to Palm Springs every year, otherwise.
Starting point is 00:57:45 Otherwise, no, it's not so good. And my wife just burst into tears, told them that she'd lost her job and that we weren't going to be able to afford her. And I was like, oh my God. And they got us out of it. And as we got in the van, she goes, there you go. Don't do that again. Wow.
Starting point is 00:58:01 I was like, oh my God, I didn't know she could do that. And you know what? My tears weren't fake. I can't do that. But the tears did get me out of it. I reckon if I hadn't cried, the police wouldn't have believed me that I was just, I didn't do it on purpose. Because this guy was saying I threw the dice on purpose.
Starting point is 00:58:16 Yeah. It was just uncordinated. Yeah, so real and fake crying can get you out of trouble. Has it ever gotten you out of trouble, Meg? Surely. I cry so often, I don't know. You can't abuse it. I remember Meg what we said, positive stuff.
Starting point is 00:58:32 Positive energy. All right, what did you? Up up, up, blah. That's what you can say to Meg before we turn the mic time. Meg, remember, up-bap-b-b-b-b-b-ppap. What did you get out of for crying? You're like, yep, that'll do it? And keep it positive, would you?
Starting point is 00:58:46 I wait under the air. Clint, Megan Dan. What did you get out of for crying when you're either in trouble or something that's about happened? You're sort of, right, I'm going to bust into tears here and see if I can get off the hook. Yeah, Dan and Clint's wife has done it. I mean, we're assuming I have. I can't remember an example.
Starting point is 00:59:03 If my life was on the line. I'm not going to deny that, Clint. I mean, I was about to get arrested in Las Vegas America for assault. Yeah. And I think I was minutes away from getting handcuffs. And then I burst into tears and said that it was just because. I accidentally threw the dice at the man's face because I'm uncoordinated.
Starting point is 00:59:21 And the police believed me, thankfully, and I think it's because of the tears. Someone said they escaped the breakup for crying. They were in the wrong, but then I cried and it completely changed the conversation and suddenly I was the one being comforted. That annoys me. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:59:38 That annoys me when that happens. And it's like, hey, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, this was me. You know the whole you break it, you bought it? Yeah. According to this, it's not if you cry. Oh. They got out of paying after they broke something in a store for them. I think if it's a woman cry, like a female crying, and there's a dude,
Starting point is 00:59:53 I feel like it's so awkward for the guy. I'd just let them go. I'd be like, I don't want you crying. Like, I feel bad. I'll let you off. Really? Is that unfair? Yep.
Starting point is 01:00:03 It's hard being a straight white guy. That is. That's the truest thing you've said all day, Clinton. Sam, what did you get out of for crying, babe? Sam. You're there, Sam? You're so shocked at your last. So you were pulled over by a police officer?
Starting point is 01:00:21 I was. So I lived in Australia for six months. At the time I was working in sales where we do door-to-door knocking. I had a 12-seat of van. I was taking the sights to head off. And we just left the city. We had the music pumping. It was 7.30 in the morning.
Starting point is 01:00:37 And I was going 35 kilometres over the speed limit. And there was a policeman with one of the handguns that pick up your speed. And he stepped out in front of. me made me slam on my brakes and yeah that's an instant loss of license I just instantly cried and said I got some bad news from home and I was just upset
Starting point is 01:00:58 and he let me off without a ticket and off we went on our merry way and carried on with our sales now technically that is a nice police officer leading off It's so embarrassing in front of people as well I must say So where were you meant to be doing 35 over is a lot if you're in a 50 Yeah yep
Starting point is 01:01:16 So it was a 50k sort of 50 or 60. I think it might have been the 60. Wait, and so were you actually so emotional that they were real tears or did you just conjure up fake ones? No, they were fake. Like, I hadn't received any bad news. It was all fake.
Starting point is 01:01:30 Yeah, but they were real tears in the way that you were like, oh my God, this is embarrassing. I can't believe this is happening to me. Or did you truly just turn on tears? I just turned on tears. Wait, so you were nearly going 100 kilometres an hour and he let you off? Yes. My God, those tears are.
Starting point is 01:01:47 Sam, are you also hot? Not even a ticket, like not even a ticket at all. Yeah, but are you quite good looking? Um, uh, maybe. Oh, my goodness. So you're a faggot and, wow. That's shocking. Wow.
Starting point is 01:02:03 But other people getting out of speeding a ticket, speeding tickets, cry? Yeah, got out of a speeding ticket. I think we're trying to get them on. As an 18-year-old guy in a very illegally modified car by faking some TSA, I didn't mean to. And I got caught in a 809 in a 50s. own.
Starting point is 01:02:18 Hold on. I've actually, like, I've cried properly and didn't get out of it. So it depends on the police. Oh, police officer. No, it depends on the police. So what you're saying is because Meg wasn't hot. Is that what you're saying? She's got a wedding ring on. So maybe the police officer was like, mah.
Starting point is 01:02:36 To be fair, it was about like a few weeks after I'd give him birth. And so, yeah, no, you're right. No, no, I'm not right. No, no. Hey, Meg, Meg, up, up, up, up. Up, up, up, up, up, but, but, want to hear more of Clinton. Want to hear more of Clint, Meg and Dan, but completely unfiltered?
