This is a podcast from Rover.
The best eight moments from Clint McGee and Dan this week.
It's the great estate.
Go to morning over the next couple of hours.
Yeah, we'll play our favourite bits.
We should have been well rested after our week off, the week before.
Yes.
I was.
I was very well rested.
I got, I came out of the gun, the gates gunning.
Blazing?
Blazing.
Yeah, mate.
He's lost it since.
I'm tired now.
I've been a long week.
Yeah, and I'm working on a Saturday.
Pisses me off.
All right.
We'll get into our.
favorite bits next.
The best eight moments from Clint Meg and Dan this week.
It's the greatest eight.
Giday, it's Brady.
Clint Meg and Dan are back from their holiday,
so that means producer diary is returning.
The week started off with a caller,
needing a voice disguiser to tell us what their favorite biscuit was.
I'm with Dan when you see with the margarine and the super wine.
That's elite.
It's super one.
So good.
Super wine.
Clint Megan Dan then got talking about Dakota Johnson
and her exes after her SS.
no monologue. So who are the musicians
that she's dated? Chris Martin from Coldplay.
They were together for a while. They were together for
a very long time. She wouldn't be with Chris Martin for six years
if he was no good? He'd be a bit of a depressing
lay, wouldn't he? What'd you mean? He'd be a depressed?
I think it'd be very emotional.
I've never thought about what it'd be like to have sex
with a man. Oh yeah, you think about it.
You think about his music.
Yeah, I think it'd be lovely.
You'd just be a bit of that.
You know your best but you don't succeed?
I'd be like, come on Chris. Put a bit of back and do it,
mate, would you? Oh, you would like that, would you?
And now it's time for some Clint Meg and Dan out of context.
I just want to be in a thruple with my mum.
That's the last time we finish on Hayden.
It's had a good three seconds of fun.
I like to just do one finger.
I can't do horses.
And open relationships have been in the news this week.
I mean, I guess it could count swinging.
I went over to Clint's house once to put my keys in a bowl.
Big mistake.
Have you ever wondered why he has that bowl at his front door?
You lie, Dan.
You just ended up delivering drinks to everyone most of the day.
Yeah, I was on drinks.
I was on the parades.
We then got Christine Clint's mum on the line
For a let's settle this
After Clint revealed
He'd been sleeping in his mum's bed while on holiday
So it's totally fine
Obviously for your son to sleep in your bed when you're away
Oh, of course it is I was glad they did
And they enjoyed it
They might not want to sleep in it again
If they knew what's been going on in there
Do my point
Instagram celebrated it's something year anniversary
This week
Don't know how many years
Can't be going back
And Dan got condiments mixed up with filters
We'll do an Instagram Hall of Fame or Hall of Shame
Depending on how they're all just going to be photos of like landscapes
Yeah landscapes with a bit of vignette on it
Isn't vignette something you'd put on a salad?
That's very great
You've been giving Clint Meg and Dan compliments all week
To try and win yourselves some Olivia Dean tickets
And I think Michelle came in with the most savage one yet
Yeah so Dan he totally has an amazing voice
And the hit the spot is my favourite
But also a little anti and good compliment
For the rest of you
Is Clint you're the least funny
so the other two are way, buddy, yeah
That'll explain why I couldn't find
too many more clint bits for this diary.
Cheers, Michelle.
And Dan seems to know a lot about the Curiosity rover.
On this day, in 2012, Meg,
the Curiosity rover landed on Mars.
Wow.
What did it do, Dan?
Well, it was doing, like, obviously,
digging and stuff.
Yeah, digging and stuff.
And I guess,
reading the atmosphere and shit.
But do you know, like,
hit the spot, made its return,
Jason Derulo,
edition.
I wrote this song just looking at you.
Oh,
yeah, the drums they swing low,
and the trumpets, there you go.
And that wraps it up for producer's diary this week.
Have a good weekend, you bloody legends,
and we'll catch you back on Monday.
The best eight moments from Clint Meg and Dan this week.
It's the greatest state.
Okay, this morning, I heard a conversation,
and whilst I was logging into computers
and going through a bit of work stuff,
I wasn't really watching what was going,
but I was hearing what was going,
and I was like, mate,
without the visual,
it's very hard to work out what these two
are doing and discussing.
What do you mean these two?
Out of context.
It was you and producer Carl
early this morning.
Okay.
And so we're going to play a fun game.
What will we talk about this morning?
You get to be on the jury.
I'm just going to play you the audio.
Oh, no.
And then you, as a jury member,
have to kind of decide
it is that you think is going on.
Am I on the jury?
Yep.
Okay, great.
Okay.
You get to do jury duty for once me.
Yeah, I've actually been asked to do jury duty twice, and I've got out of it twice.
Oh, I'd be.
Never been asked.
I would pull every string to get to do jury duty.
It's my dream.
I think I would now, yeah, a bit of fun.
Okay, so here we go.
What are Dan and our producer, I'm talking about at quarter past five this morning?
It's so nice.
I guess so on it sliding, sliding around.
It's just huge, though.
I can't believe how big it is.
Bigger than I expected.
Oh, it's not been properly.
Brilliant.
I mean, don't say it's disgusting because the disgusting thing here is that Clint's filthy little mind.
Pathetic, like, just so immature.
No, but you are talking about the size of things and sliding in.
Yeah, I know, but we were talking.
Okay, can I say what we're talking about?
Because I know exactly what we're talking about.
A remote control car.
Okay.
Carl got a new remote control car that he brought him to show Dan and
And we're sitting there talking
Yeah Carl brought his car in and we're talking and I was like oh this is amazing
And that's how you go
Clint's sitting there banging a mic on pathetic going okay well now we know
Now we know what they're doing there's some more audio
Exactly the same in terms of like mine looks pretty much exactly the same as yours
Yeah except mine's just a bit bigger
Like in the black one it looks bigger
Yeah, Carl's is black and Dan's is blue so
I thought that was quite funny
Haven't had some time recently
With your wife
Why is my
Everything like my remote control cars smaller
Everything
I don't know
You can buy a big one
I don't have enough money
For both situations
The best eight moments
From Clint Meggin Dan this week
It's the greatest state
Sophia called up for animal attacks
That was what we were looking for
With the wheel of yarns
Morning Sophia
Good morning
How are you?
Good. Now we spun a big wheel today. We're just trying something different. You know what?
We're always looking forward on the show. And I think that's what MTF loves about us.
Yeah, yeah, sure. And so we've decided to put a winning wheel up. We've spun a whole load of topics.
And it landed on animal attacks this morning. You've gone. I've got a great yarn there.
I do.
Okay. What happened?
I took my 11-year-old to Bali for his birthday.
Lovely.
And when we were in Ubud, a monkey jumped on my shoulders and attacked Mollah.
my head.
He bit into the top
of my skull and then
he was pressing his
thumb into my eyeball and his finger
was up my nose so I reached up
to move his hand and he bit my hand as well
and then I had to have
I had to have
a series of post-exposure rabies
vaccination. Yeah I can imagine
why you would have been being bitted by a monkey in Bali
would have been. How many stitches did
you end up getting in your head and your hand?
I didn't end up needing stitch
which was really good.
They just cleaned it out and injected it with immunoglobulin into the wound site.
Actually, yeah, when I was in Bali as a kid, I remember like flying a kite,
hitting a palm tree and smashing those ceramic pots with the lights at the bottom.
And I remember they just like pushed it together and put like a plaster over it.
I have a massive scar on my back now because it needed stitches and they were like, you'll be sweet.
So maybe Bali tries to avoid stitches even when they do need to do them.
Sophia, what sort of monkey was this so we know what to avoid?
when we're in Bali.
It's a grey macaque.
They have really long canine teeth.
Disgusting.
Do you know, I was hanging out with a mate yesterday,
and they just got back from Bali,
and he said he went to one of those monkey parks,
and he saw one with a little pink camera,
like a digital camera.
And he goes, so he went over to the monkey,
and the monkey took off.
Next minute, security card comes running around the corner.
He goes, did anyone see a monkey with a camera?
My friend was like, he went that way.
Now, I'm looking at a photo.
Meeks just brought up a photo of one of these monkeys.
They do look quite cute, don't they?
Unassuming, but then when they land on it.
That'd be scary, yes.
Yeah.
Oh, wow.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
They're still cute.
And my son, it was really funny because as soon as it jumped on my shoulder, I wanted
a photo.
So he's got a photo of the actual bite happening.
Oh, good.
Oh, wow.
And is it true?
You work for the New Zealand blood service, and you can't give blood now because of this.
Yes, it's a lifetime deferral from donating blood if you've ever been bitten by a primate.
Oh, my God.
I mean, that must be a rare thing, right?
God.
Yeah, very rare.
Tanya also commented saying,
ah, that's why I hate monkeys.
Oh.
I mean, it is the monkeys' fault, I guess,
but, you know, he's just, maybe he thought he was going to give a cool tourist photo.
Supposedly, you can tell which ones have rabies because they don't drink.
They don't drink water.
They get super dehydrated, but something happens in their brain,
so they're always, like, frothing at the mouth or dehydrated.
Don't point to me when you were describing that.
Yeah, why are you always fronping at the mouth thing?
I think you should get that checked.
You definitely shouldn't be giving blood.
The best date moments from Clint Meg and Dan this week.
It's the greatest date.
What's the occupation that you will never date again
because he had a bad experience or experiences?
Dakota Johnson says it's musicians.
Someone else said, yeah, musicians.
The one I dated said he could never afford dinner
and then we'd go and buy a $3,000 guitar.
Oh, yeah, that's no good.
Flight attendants come through a couple of times
wouldn't date them because they're always away
and you're always wondering where they are.
That's true.
I imagine flight attendants, it's...
It's hard to have a relationship because you're always traveling.
Easy to cheat to, wouldn't it?
Really easy.
I'm on a work trip.
Pilots come through as well.
Someone said pilots are just as bad.
Personal trainers, obviously we knew that it happened.
Yeah, someone else is saying that he would calorie count everything when we went out and we never got dessert.
Yeah, that'd be really hard.
Now, there is someone that needs to be on the voice disguiser, which means it's juicy.
I've got them online too, Clint.
Morning James.
Yeah, good-o.
Fake name.
Okay.
What profession would you not date again and why?
100% cops
that job sort of breaks people
she was incredibly untrusting
on everything and everyone
and when I finally managed
to get away from her she full on stalked me
and so I went to the cops about it
but they're all friends at the station and didn't
believe that oh my God
yeah because you're complaining about one of their own
I've never been
I've never been scared before of an X
until then
and I ended up putting out and threatening to put
complaint in with the commission.
And then she finally disappeared.
Wow.
That's scary.
Police have come through quite a bit for cheating as well, haven't they?
We've done the most likely to cheat professions before, and police quite often came through.
I want to say about the crazy ones, don't you, in the bed?
So let's just leave it around.
It was kind of worth it, but real scary afterwards.
Oh, crazy hot Matrix.
Kind of worth it.
Yeah, she was pretty crazy, though.
Yeah, yeah.
But, like, there's crazy people in all professions.
You know, like, there's a lot of police.
New Zealand, so it's just one of those things, isn't it?
It's somebody else texted and saying, anyone who
works in recruitment?
Yeah, a lot of sales as well.
Oh, really? Why?
It says sales rep, good at spinning shit yarns and making up lies.
Yeah, that makes sense.
Gynecologist, that's specific?
Someone said, no, don't take them.
Anyone who's going to dedicate their life to that?
I'd be a little wary of...
They'd know their way around.
You know, so...
Woo, yuck, guys, it's gross.
I'm just saying, you.
You would hope so, Meg.
If you went to a gynecologist and he didn't know what was what, you'd be like,
can I seek your diploma?
Actually, you'd want them to have a bachelor, at least I would have thought.
I think you do have to have it for that, Clint.
I don't think you can just get like a diploma.
It's a certificate.
I think you have to do the full study.
The best eight moments from Clint Meg and Dan this week.
It's the greatest eight.
The leader's debate was on last night.
We had Jack Taman yesterday.
He was the mediator, which turns out was actually quite a tough job.
turned out. Yeah, he said he was nervous
about it, didn't he said he gets very nervous
before a leader's debate. You wouldn't have picked it.
No, not at all. He was so good.
In fact, he was the star of the show, in my opinion,
Jack Tabe. What colour suit or tie did he wear?
Because he was worried about accidentally looking
like he was favouring one party over the other.
For memory, it was black. He'd like a nice black
sort of suit, black, hard coal grey,
maybe. Right. But there
was, I'll tell you what,
very little I took away
from the leaders debate, because I'm still undecided,
like a lot of people who I'm going to vote for in
November.
Oh, so it didn't make it clear.
Even for somebody who's, like, more capable?
I mean, there was just so much talking.
Yeah.
And a lot of it, they were talking over each other.
Have a listen.
We set it out.
Just as you did when you were last in the weekend.
Just as you were doing it was in the last in government,
why is this different?
Well, if you listen to the answer, I'll tell you.
Okay.
That was just one of the most.
Oh, it's number one in radio, what we're not meant to do.
Let's see if you can work out what's going on here.
All right.
Christopher Jackson.
Christopher Lachson.
You get a moment to talk about this in just a second.
Okay, hold on.
There wasn't much said.
Let's see if we can work out with the thing now.
Chris is saying he wants to go back.
Chris is saying, how much money have you put aside for it?
Well, we put money aside for it.
But as you know, we don't reveal that amount for negotiating.
But you're demanding that I reveal it.
So why don't you reveal it?
Let me explain why.
Because the Treasury have said it's $11 billion.
Fleur Fitzs'Iman's, your union friend has said it's $13 billion extra on top of what we have put on.
Chris Hibkins were coming to you on.
How much of you take you?
It's so annoying when someone asks you a question, then you answer it.
And then they just keep asking you the question
when you're trying to answer the question.
Yeah, a lot of the times it was the two Chris's, Meek, like talking over each other.
And then Jack had come in trying to get them to go back on track.
It was crazy the whole time.
Then they even started lying about stuff.
Just 54 new nurses.
That's the reason our health system is in crisis.
Today, in many of our hospitals across the country, there are fewer nurses.
It's hard to know who's lying though because they're both called Chris.
And when you hear Chris is not true, you're like, wait, which one is lying?
The red one or the blue one?
Yeah, true.
And so it's just 101 when you're in broadcasting just to not talk over.
I think that when it's harder on Christopher Luxel or whoever's leading,
I think it's so much easier to be the person that goes, well, I would do this if I was in.
You don't have to back it up.
But it's just so rude and it's very hard to understand.
It is really rude when it's really rude when it's a way.
Because I think the thing about it is they're all trying to get a worded.
And they just can't listen to what they're trying to say.
No one can hear so arrogant.
And it pisses you off.
Because Meg, you're lying.
You are blatantly lying about what you're saying.
I'm not lying.
And this is me not.
The best eight moments from Clint Meg and Dan this week.
It's the greatest state.
It's nice to each other.
Obviously, she's got a track called Nice to each other.
You can see how Meg made the jump from that to compliment us on the show this week.
It's definitely not my idea.
I think a lot of Kiwis have this kind of issue with accepting compliments.
Yeah, I think as a country, we do need to be better.
Yeah, you're right.
going, you know what, I am bloody good.
Not saying that we are.
But I mean, you know.
I teach my kids that.
If you think something nice, say it.
So sometimes we'll be in Kmart, she'll turn around and she'll go to this
like girl behind her who's like 19.
She'll go, I love your hair.
Oh, that would be so cool.
See, that's so nice.
Okay.
So I put everybody's name into one of these online generator things that does
a spinning wheel and then it comes out.
So it's fair.
Our spinning wheel, honestly.
It needs to go to the tip or Motet or somewhere.
Yeah, so you've done an online one.
So I'm just going to spin it.
now and this is just going to
text on a random
I think of the phone.
Okay, okay so I've got a number.
I'm going to be typing this in
to the phone.
Christine speaking.
Kirsten?
Did Kirsten just do this morning's one?
Oh wow, that was lucky.
What was your compliment?
Christine.
My compliment was to Meg
around putting up
with you to
and be a mana
being a mana
why he me?
Oh, yes, that's right.
Well, that works now. That works.
Well, congratulations.
And we were talking about how unique my name was.
That's right.
That's right.
Well, congratulations, Christine.
Because you were nice to somebody,
you are going to Olivia Dean next weekend.
Who are you going to take with you?
I'm going to take my wife.
Oh, how beautiful.
Oh, how beautiful.
That's a wet, wet.
And I have been on the internet scanning thinking,
what am I going to do?
We've been together for 29 years.
29 years.
and we've only been married for nine years.
You know what you need to do, Kirstein?
Don't say you won them.
Say you purchased them.
Ages ago.
Ages ago.
But her partner's probably like everyone.
They all listen to the edge, so.
Oh yeah.
That's right.
That's right.
Clint, I'm standing in thinking I'm either going to get a phone call straight after this.
Or I'm hoping she's in a meeting.
Christine, who proposed to who, nine years ago?
My son and myself.
My son are...
Mama bea.
You were O'Carol Marquiry.
I said, no, I'm a Marquiry.
Your other mum is an O'Carol.
Well, can you both be O'Carol Marquities?
I said, oh, well, this is what we need to do, son.
Oh, beautiful.
And then we took her up on Taranaki Maunga,
Koko's Mountain, we call it.
And then he pushed his little cars out and said,
Mum, will you marry her?
Oh, my gosh.
Oh, my gosh.
Oh, my gosh.
How incredible.
What a beautiful story after 29 years together.
so happy that the world, the universe, put to you.
Thank you.
Our son is 14 now and, oh, yes.
What does that mean?
At least you don't have to find a babysitter for him.
He can stay at home on his own.
And, yeah, you and your wife have the best time.
Next Saturday, so chuck it in the diary, Western Springs Bowl, Olivia D.
You will be there for free.
Christine.
Oh, amazing.
Well deserved.
Thank you so much.
I like you.
Thank you.
And please call us again.
Yeah.
We love you.
Love you too.
You're my favourite radio station, honestly,
and it's not just because I want something.
The best eight moments from Clint Meg and Dan this week.
It's the greatest eight.
It's been a contentious battle all week.
The best biscuit in New Zealand.
According to the listeners of this fine radio show,
the humble Scotchfinger came into the competition
It wasn't anybody's favourite where we didn't think it would be,
but it's taken out numerous favourite biscuits over the week.
Your shrewsberries, your timetams, your mellow puffs,
they've all been cancelled because of the mere simple scotch finger.
You know what's crazy about this, Meg,
is this all started from Dan's wife saying the Scotch Finger's the greatest biscuit,
and Dan wanted to prove her wrong.
So brought it to the show for the last three days,
and we might just find out after four days worth of gear that she was right.
Or Hannah has numerous burnophones
And she's just been texting it all week
Unsure about that though, Clint
Because it now has come up against
The legendary
Well-loved Biskopf.
Now my thing with the Biscovers
And I don't want to sway the votes
Because I feel like the Scotch finger
Has gone all this way
And it'd be sad to fail at the last hurdle
But
The Biscop's really only good
When you crush it and put it at a base
Of a, you know, like a cheesecake or something
Or they brought out the Biscot ice cream sandwich
Or whatever
So they've made it better
because they put ice cream with it, which makes everything better.
Whereas no one's doing that with a Scotch finger because it's unnecessary.
Am I the only one that thinks that a Biskopf is overrated?
Oh no, see, I think it might actually be the only biscuit that I quite like,
but we're going to the phones now.
Votes are in.
Danielle.
Hey, team, can I just say first off, this segment's absolutely brilliant.
Well done.
Yeah, thank you.
Great radio.
Yeah, it is.
But also, Scotch finger.
I will die on the hill for the Scotch finger.
So would I.
I've never, do you know what?
I'd never heard of a scotch finger before we started talking about this.
Yeah.
I'm going to, I do know, but the way, the, I want to go out on my final day on this earth with a scotch finger inside me.
I can arrange that for you, Dad.
You leave that with me.
You leave that with your friend Meg.
If you die before me, I'll make sure there's a scotch finger up you.
I mean, in you.
Sorry.
Right, here we go.
Next up, Jessica.
How am I the most mature on this show?
Jessica, what are we voting for?
I'm voting for best scoff.
Oh, you see.
A scumbag.
What do you mean to scumbag?
Jessica, I hear that basic.
Dan goes, I don't want to lead the witness
and sway the votes.
You're a scumbag.
Sorry, sorry.
You're entitled to your opinion.
Thank you, Jessica.
Somebody with some taste.
Kirsten, good morning.
Good morning.
So what are your thoughts?
Biscoff or Scotch finger?
A million percent.
Bisk off is so overrated.
I agree.
I don't think I've ever even bought a pack.
Ever?
They just look so dry
and just, no.
Okay.
It's not looking good for the Biskof.
I would say if we did a moisture test,
Scotch Finger and Biskof
as dry as each other.
Biskopf can piss off.
Oh, good.
That's what the guys at Arnott say about it.
They could put that on the packet of a scotch finger.
Yeah.
Could have they?
I reckon Arnitz, you can have that.
If this wins.
If there isn't a delivery of Scotch fingers
to the office at some point today,
I'm not sure what's going on
with the marketing team from Arnott.
It would be very strange.
Do Arnis want anything to do with us?
No, they kind of ghosted me.
Yeah, but I have you reached out.
Bisk off. Biskow!
No, no, no, I want to have a fair fight here, and maybe, you know, the Biskopf will take it out fairly.
But collating the votes, the phones, the texts, all the social media that we've had over the week, Meg, you're always the one that decides this.
You're the maths woman of the show.
What is the most popular biscuit in New Zealand, according to the list?
Are you going to give me a drumong?
You are.
The most popular biscuit is
The Scotch finger.
Oh, the finger!
Come on!
The Scotch finger takes it out!
The best eight moments from Clint Meggin' Dan this week.
It's the greatest eight.
Hit it, it's it.
Here's it.
Here we go.
I was in the country a couple of weekends ago.
A couple of weekends ago, performed in Auckland Spark Arena.
Hell of a show.
One of the best I've been to in a very.
very, very long time if you're listening, Jason.
And such an incredible backlog of music that it was hard to pick which song to do.
You could do many.
Yeah, we were tossing up between a few of them, but we landed on trumpets.
I'd say it's his bigger song.
Yes.
Yeah, the drums they swing low.
And we're going to come back in here.
Hopefully.
Yeah.
So, look, it's tricky here with timing because it's one of those moments where there's not
much music behind when he's singing.
It's just him kind of riffing.
Yeah, yeah.
There's a lot of pauses.
Yeah, and also the tricky part here is the vocal.
A lot of falsetto.
A lot of falsetto and then transitioning back into full voice.
Now I don't want a mansplain singing, but that's hard.
And I also just wanted to point out that if you are watching this online eventually,
and I see Dan, it is not normally how you're dressed.
No, look, I don't usually wear full leather.
Although I am feeling myself, there's a whole load of people in the producer booth right now.
How do I look guys?
Do I look at them?
I actually got them to do that.
Those guys can't be cheer at anything.
Yeah.
Let's hear him for pay cuts.
It's a media works.
See?
Oh, okay, only one.
Okay.
You know, I went out into the kitchen before, and I walked past someone, and all they said was,
Jesus, like that.
I don't know whether to take.
It could be, Jesus.
I don't think it was.
Yeah, true.
Okay.
All right, you ready?
We're ready.
Let's talk about it out.
