Starting point is 00:00:00 This is a podcast from Rover. The Edge. Clint McGinn Dan. Gilda, welcome. We're actually on holiday. We're not even here, but we thought we'd throw out, and by we,
Starting point is 00:00:11 I mean producers throughout some best off podcast for you to get you fixed. I'm here. No, I'm here. No, I'm here. Where's Clint? Why is Clint always not here? How are you talking? But you're not here.
Starting point is 00:00:21 Well, right now I'm probably up north in Rua Khaka. I'd imagine in real life. I'm still hanging around. Right now, I'm here at the studio. We're both still here. turned up to work Well, we'll do this intro And then Dan wants us to film
Starting point is 00:00:36 One of his social media videos That he's going to get paid for And he's just using us as friends How are you going to do that if you're not here though? Well, I'll do my best I'll do my best I can't see you Where are you?
Starting point is 00:00:45 I'm here, where are you? I'm here, where are you? Let's hope Marco! Polo, I think this is a delay Okay, let's hope the podcast is better than this bloody intro All right, but you can enjoy some podcasts
Starting point is 00:01:00 This is even though we're away From where you are. Sorry, what? Biko! Shut up. The Edge is the home of Clint McGinn, Dan. Well, I woke up this morning and I was like, well, that'll be a break tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:01:14 I mean, this morning. I had a six dream about somebody at work last night. Oh, God, me. It could be one of us. Oh, God, it was Dad. I need to know details. No one's ever had a six dream about me. Even though, you know how they say,
Starting point is 00:01:29 you can't choose your dreams, and they come. Like out of the blue and you go, what the heck, like you came second in a taekwondo competition, Meg, which is outrageous. But at least you're in Dream World, they were like, well, we can't have a coming first. She won't believe it. Yeah, yeah. Let's get it a second. And even that is, you know, crazy enough.
Starting point is 00:01:46 I mean, to be fair, seconds even unbelievable. Yeah. There's quite a few women at this station. Yeah, I've never had, even though you don't get to choose dream, I've never had like a gay dream. It's looking good for me, Meg. So it's looking good for four. I can rule you and all the other boys out here at the edge. Oh, damn.
Starting point is 00:02:01 Well, then before... Meg, before he tells us her as a sex dream... I'm not telling you. Oh, you're not going to tell us who? He's not going to tell us. Because it's too weird. Because it gets around here at the edge being like, oh, you know a sex dream I'm about.
Starting point is 00:02:12 Yeah, but you can't help that. I know, but there's something going on. Like, what is that? That your brain, you just go to sleep and then you wake up. And I literally... Here's the craziest part. My mum walked in on me in this dream
Starting point is 00:02:24 with the co-worker, and mum was looking at me, like, and just, like, so disappointed me. because obviously I'm married and she was like, cool, now I've got to keep the secret with you. Yeah, okay, apparently. I work up like, oh my God, I've ruined my life. A sex stream is, oh, you hate the ones when they're really real.
Starting point is 00:02:41 You're like, oh my God, it's actually happened. A sex dream about someone is apparently about a desire to absorb a certain trait to that that person has or achieve a deeper emotional or intellectual closeness with them. Oh. So it could not, it doesn't necessarily be sexual. No, no, no. So if it's about a coworker, it says usually points. to a desire for their specific traits
Starting point is 00:03:02 like their confidence or assertiveness or a need for better communication with them. Oh, say who it is then. I've got my guess. I've got my guess. And I think I know why I'll make him nervous because it's the boss's wife. It doesn't matter. No. Because as I keep saying no, no, no,
Starting point is 00:03:17 it's going to whittle it down. There's only so many women here at the edge. So I'm not going to even confirm it tonight. I must say when you're away in Ash London covered for you, Meg. There was a... I'll give you... I'll let you have one. I'll let you have one.
Starting point is 00:03:30 name and then that's it. Bella. Bella. I think it's Bella. Okay, three, two, one. Bella. Wasn't Bella? Oh, fucker. It was definitely, Ash.
Starting point is 00:03:41 Get your Clint McGinn, Dan Fix. Yeah, Harry Stiles has come out and said that he lost his. Virginity to Radiohead, just the intro specifically. Yeah, which is only about 10 or so seconds. So making a gag, of course. But we were surprised that he remembers it at all. I don't. I don't think there would have been a song.
Starting point is 00:04:00 for me. No? You wouldn't have put on music. It would have been the last thing I was thinking about that night. Really? I remember the night and there's no way
Starting point is 00:04:07 I would have had music on. I've got a bunch of songs that I've sort of had a guess at what you might have lost your virginity too. Oh, Clint, why? Yeah, I just, I mean, let me just see. Could have come. Can't touch this.
Starting point is 00:04:22 Because he was kind of like wrapped up and Yeah, that wasn't really key. What about this? I don't get it. Should I stay or should I come? Prep this. He's been very quiet for the last 10 minutes.
Starting point is 00:05:06 Savannah, do you remember the song you lost your virginity too by chance? Oh my god, okay. How long ago we talk in Savannah? More than 15 years ago. Oh god, you've got a good memory then. Okay. What was the song? Love in this club by us.
Starting point is 00:05:20 Oh wow. Was it put on specifically for the first time? Or did it happen to start playing when it was? happened? It happened to start playing. Interesting. It's good to Bobby. Hey Bobby. Good morning. Good morning, Bobby. What was the song that you
Starting point is 00:05:39 lost your bee plates to? I'm kind of not mad about it. Despacito's and Justin Bieber remix. Oh, interesting. Hey. Oh, okay. It's got a good beat. So did you put it on specifically or did it just, it was just on the rotate when it happened to happen?
Starting point is 00:06:02 It came on. It made the experience better, that's for sure. I don't think anyone's putting on a specific song, are they? Clint would, you're joking, eh? Clint is 100% the type of guy that would put on a specific. He would make a CD of just the same song so that it definitely didn't not land on the one he wanted. I get a playlist, but not one single song.
Starting point is 00:06:21 Here you go, is this song played six times in a row now? Yeah, but I really wanted to have things to the song. Wild love James Bay Just by the way If you are looking for a song You could always go with that A few people are texting through What they lost it to
Starting point is 00:06:34 Jalous by Nick Jonas Has come through Spandale Ballet God, how old are they Wow Dad Somebody lost it to the Friends theme song Really?
Starting point is 00:06:47 Interesting No song Dead silence says Nathan I think you'd be With a lot of people there Nathan I was the same Dead silence Yeah
Starting point is 00:06:54 I think music puts me off I very rarely play it puts you off Yeah like the beat is quite often Not right for what I'm doing D's trying to match it every time Get out again to guard
Starting point is 00:07:07 I've been married a long know Yeah last man Clint Meg and Dan It's breakfast The Edge It's time for Clint Meg and Dan's Light Detector results Yeah we strap Meg up to the back
Starting point is 00:07:17 of the KFC van It's all blacked out They've got a detective in there In fact if you do see The lie detector cruising around inside the KFC van around your neighbourhood. They invite you in to jump in and give it a nudge. I'd love to like interview the guy.
Starting point is 00:07:30 What's he seen in his time as a detective and a private investigator? I don't know if they entice you in with the KFC hot rods kebab, but they should if they don't. I was a bit gutted. I didn't get any KFC when I was in there. Oh really? Is that what you were expecting? Yeah, I was kind of thinking that as well. Yeah, I thought I'd be eating a Zingerburger while I'm sitting there. All right, I'd gone through my questions,
Starting point is 00:07:48 and then it was time for Dan to take over. And I think because Dan got to go second and you were warmed up a bit, Dan got a little carried away and went a little harder on you, Meg. Yeah, I started off easy with a bit of a relationship question. Okay. Out of Clint or myself, who could you most see being married to? Being married to. Married too.
Starting point is 00:08:08 So it's not necessarily about the sexual sex. But that's a big part of any marriage. Wow, yes, but you also... Oh, God. I don't know. You've both got pros and cons. Who could I be married to? Dan or Clint?
Starting point is 00:08:24 Dan. I mean, honestly, I think it was going to fail on either name that I said there. Thanks for trying to be nice to me, though. Meeg giving me a bit of an eco boost, even though it was a lie. Then I wanted to get a bit of a lay of the land in the show and where Meg thinks we sit within it, Clint. Okay. Hand on heart, do you think the edge would be nothing without you?
Starting point is 00:08:48 No. Yes. Oh my God. She's like sick and gets to go himself. He knows she's gonna get caught so she hones up to me. I wouldn't say nothing without me, but if I was to leave now, I think there'd be maybe, there would be, like, I'm allowed to say that, fuck you guys. Good on you, you know, she's got Southworth. Oh God, oh God.
Starting point is 00:09:10 You've got it back yourself, babe. I like seeing a little confident Meg inside the band. I tried. Well, yeah, it was, I mean, I do, no, okay, oh, let's move on from that one. Yeah, oh, do you want her? Because there's more. Is there another one? Yeah, last one.
Starting point is 00:09:21 No. No. Is there anyone on the show, just use or no answer? that you think is a weak link. No. We ask who? We'd rather just move on. Yeah, it's better to not know
Starting point is 00:09:40 and think it's the other person. That's really sad to producer Carl. Anyway. Yeah, we're producers in mine. That's good. It expands the net a little further and it helps us. He does a lot of work behind the scenes, Meg,
Starting point is 00:09:54 that you don't see. Right. Anyway. Oh, thank God that's over. Yeah, sure. It's going to live on the internet forever, it's going to be in a video. That's fine. And you can if you want to hook up your mate to it.
Starting point is 00:10:05 You can. I think it's travelling around the country, isn't it? A bunch of arrogant wankers, the three of us, really? Yeah. All I can say is thank God we have Meg. Oh my goodness, Clint. Listen live weekdays from Sex on Rover and catch up wherever. This is Clint, Meg and Dan.
Starting point is 00:10:21 We want to chat about who we could be swapping off New Zealand's currency. There are a few people who have been sitting on the bills for a long-ass time. A lot of New Zealanders have done some pretty cool stuff and maybe it's time for a switcher. Someone's suggested neck minute guy.
Starting point is 00:10:37 Oh yeah, I left my scooter outside the dairy. He was an iconic New Zealander. I can see that like a $10.00, no, it's like a four square. And then there's a scooter and then there's him just being like, what the heck? I've got quite serious with my suggestions and I've just seen people saying things like thingy with his missing eyeball. So not quite the same list as what I've got.
Starting point is 00:10:58 I think it needs to be thingy but mid-eye popping out. So just a shot of him with his eye popping out thingy. The iconic moment. All right, let's go to Nicky. Nicky, who do you think should be on one of our next bills? Togs, togs, togs, Togs, Undies, Guy. Oh, the trumpet ads. Togs, togs, dogs, dogs, dogs, dogs.
Starting point is 00:11:15 Togs, undies, undies. His name's actually... One of the greatest adverts, I would have. I wouldn't know that guy if I had tripped over him in the street. He was a cameraman. I worked with him on a TV show once. His name's Tom Walsh. He's now married to Kimberly Crossman.
Starting point is 00:11:29 Oh, is that him? Yeah. He's the undies and his dogs guy Did he do the voicing or did he do the acting? No, he's the guy who walks around and his undies around the supermarket. That's iconic. It's a great one actually, Nicky. He's him on the bill.
Starting point is 00:11:39 Georgia. Hello? Who should be on our money? A spin. Oh, our Swedish correspondence, Finn. I don't even know if he's a citizen. I don't think he probably needs to be on the Swedish crona. I don't think a non-New Zealand citizen can be on the bills.
Starting point is 00:11:54 Yeah. It is a shame. It is a shame. Oh, she's got a blacker. I also. I mean, it's a real hard push to take Kate Sheppard off the $10 note because, you know, she won a woman the right to vote. But in 1893, it's over 100 years ago, surely.
Starting point is 00:12:10 Women have done some pretty cool stuff since then. What about Nick's Adams from Celebrity Treasure Island? She's a treasure. She is. Get her on. Maybe. Yeah, swapped one of them out for Ben Lummus from New Zealand Idol. Oh, Lomas.
Starting point is 00:12:23 Forgot about him. Yeah, Lammis, he deserves to be on there. A great New Zealander. Yes. Right. Okay. A lot of people won Hillary Barry. Tina from Turner's.
Starting point is 00:12:34 Tina. Tori, who do you think should be on one of our dollar bills? Oh, I'm going for Hillary Barry. Oh, yes, good. Okay, there's one on my list. Yeah. I love it. Hillary's the Queen of the Nation.
Starting point is 00:12:45 She's not a big fan. Well, I was going to say she's not a fan of Dan. Actually, that's not true. She doesn't even know who he is. Remember when she said... I don't know you, Dan. Yeah. We like to remind her that.
Starting point is 00:12:52 I don't like Hillary Barry. But she is an icon, and I would back you on that one, Tori. Yeah. I mean, maybe we need to compile this list. I'm not compiling that. I think I'm back shotgun not sending the email because with these suggestions I'll send it. I'm really keen to get the Mount Smart
Starting point is 00:13:07 Joker on one of the bills. That'd be, I'd really petition that one hard. So not people like Dame Fender Cooper or Helen Clark, Jacerra Ardena. I mean, I love Helen Clark, but I... Dame Farrah Palmer. I love Lydia Coe and all them, but I prefer the lady that said,
Starting point is 00:13:23 Father's Day's on Sunday. Right. Father's days, always on Sunday. Yeah. Nick Minut. He get him on as well. All right. Who do we need to talk to,
Starting point is 00:13:31 producer Carl, can you talk to the, I don't know, the currency commission or whatever? Yeah, currency commission, I'll give them a call. Yeah, thanks, mate. Just let them know that there's a bit of a ground swell going. Get them on the line. I'll just cross off my list, eh? Sorry, Dan Cooper.
Starting point is 00:13:45 A bit too serious, me. Your favourite radio show? In podcast form. Edge breakfast, Clint Megan Dan. Yeah. Sit back and relax while we dialing to Dan's diary. Youth group was fun as. We only picked up rubbish for 45 minutes.
Starting point is 00:14:05 Oh yeah, because we had to go and look to... It was at Cockle Bay Beach, we had to pick up rubbish. 45 minutes. That's actually a long time to pick up rubbish. Yeah, and I genuinely don't remember picking up much rubbish, to be honest. Did they give you one of those cool little, like, um, sticks though? They squeeze up at the top. I think we've got gloves, like plastic gloves.
Starting point is 00:14:23 I hope you were gloves because Nick found an open condo. on and we filled it with water and threw it at Stephen Coote's sister. Oh yeah, it's a lot of rubbish picking up by the sounds. Oh, yeah, we picked up that. An open one. Gosh, I hate to think. She just laughed though because I think she's
Starting point is 00:14:40 macking on with Alistair or wants to. He should ask her to the movies. She is out of his leg, though, especially with his glasses. Oh. Come on, what is you mate? You're so sad to all your friends. So I just sit next to Alistair and Tudor group where we used to write this diary,
Starting point is 00:14:57 and I wonder whether I was writing that, knowing that he was going to read it. Speaking of Stephen, he had his tight pants on again. I don't know what brand they are, but they are so tight, they should be classed as underwear, not pants.
Starting point is 00:15:11 And then you change to, like, writing in caps lock like you're yelling. Who wears tight pants when you know you'll be bending over and picking up rubbish? Christians are weird. We got pizza boys for dinner. Not as good as hells though. detention at lunchtime because I forgot
Starting point is 00:15:27 PE uniform and I also had to sit out of PE class. Didn't want to play Bull Rush anyway. It's lame and it sucks. I love how it started positive. I was like, you know what, youth group's fun. And then it ended. Because you found an open, probably, you know, why was there an open condom on the beach?
Starting point is 00:15:46 Also, when you said pizza boys, did you mean eagle boys? Can't remember. I remember them as an old school pizza. He had rid an eagle and then crossed it out four pizza boys. Yeah, remember Eagle Boys? Yeah, they used to make a brief. This one with a scrambled eggs on the pizza.
Starting point is 00:16:00 Was that like taken over by one of the big conglomerates? Yeah, maybe. Not really, youth group if you're finding open condoms or... Oh, you'd be... Want to hear more of Clint, Meg and Dan? But completely unfiltered. Catch their Overthinkers audio and video pod every single day on the Rover app. All wherever you get your pots.
Starting point is 00:16:18 Overthinkers. Rover. Music, radio, podcasts.
