The Edge Breakfast - OVERTHINKERS | 107 | Clint did WHAT to my pillow?!
Episode Date: August 25, 2026The gang is in full chaotic force today, keeping track of studio wins and losses with a high-stakes Nerf bullet reward system, though Meg is pretty sure it’s just an excuse for Clint and Dan to ...gang up on her. Dan spills the awkward details of his latest barber trip, where his hairstylist couldn't place his face and ended up guessing everything from a 45-year-old school teacher to a West Auckland tip worker, completely missing his radio fame. Things devolve quickly from there into an outrageous round of "Would You Rather," touching on passing marble-sized kidney stones versus popping a softball, grandfathers groaning in the night, and horrific hotel revenge stories involving midnight farts and pillow pranks at Electric Ave.

This is a podcast from Rover.
The Overthinker's podcast.
Right.
Welcome, Clem Begandan, your host.
Just finished our radio show, so time to get a little bit more of your Clemegen Dan fix,
if that's what you're after.
And you know what, if you've had enough of us?
Don't listen then.
Fair enough.
It's great.
It's great for your KPIs.
We're in a mood.
No, no.
But to be fair, if they've clicked on the podcast, they're obviously wanting to hear.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
They're not clicking on and then go, ooh, yuck.
Just to, if you missed it,
yesterday we started a new
pretty much gold star game for adults
there's a bunch of Nerf Bullets in studio you do something
good you get a bullet
if you do something bad you have to hand the bullet back
you can't award yourself a bullet
current telly
I've got three
Meg
Dan how many do you have
She asked you first
I have five
Meg
I got one
You what?
One
I just remember it's not like a
It's one
Because it's you know it's a
me explain to you what just happened
before. Clint asked me to
pull a face and hunch to
see if I look like the hunchback of an ultra-dime
and he said I'll give you a bullet if you do it.
So just know that that's what happens
behind the scenes.
And now he's just, now Dan is just giving
Clint another bullet for that gag. So like
behind the scenes, they're just
constantly bullying me about my looks.
Oh, now that is, now Meg,
you can't throw stones
if you're going to get stones
in the throne. Let me show the camera.
Let me show the cameras right now.
This is my chat with Clinton and Dan.
But say on the record me, I had nothing to do with this, did I?
No, you did it.
I sent a video.
Clint took a screenshot of that video.
No, it's how the video ended.
It ended like that.
And I was like, fuck, that looks like.
And then he put a picture of Quasimoto.
From the hunchbacker off.
And then you said, Dan, do I get a bullet?
So just know that that's why happens.
Even off ear, it's got nothing.
It was that, what time was that?
It was nothing to do with being on here?
that was at 8.30 last night
I can't get away from it.
I know, it is bullying.
But let's remember, though,
that Quasimodo was one of the most beloved Disney characters.
He is, and he was very misunderstood.
Poor guy.
What?
Yeah.
Like, he was a lovely man in real, like, wasn't he?
Okay, let's see.
Let's see what similarities you would have for him.
Quasimotos qualities.
Yeah.
And I think you know what?
He was, you'd never judge a book bite's cover, do you?
No.
Because if you looked at him, you'd go, he's a horrible.
Disney's a Disney's Quasimodo.
Yeah.
His qualities
is a hunchback and a facial
deformity.
That is a physical,
those are physical traits of
Quasimoto, yes.
But what are his, like,
in a beautiful trait?
I'm going to get another bullet.
Red hair and blue eyes.
Possesses superhuman physical
strength.
No, incredible acrobatic skill.
Oh, remember.
Have you seen a high jump?
Bring more diver.
And he's good at ringing a bell.
You could ring the show.
You bring a bell a lot on the show.
Kind,hearted and pure.
He acts from empathy and compassion
and doesn't have any malice towards people.
Oh my God.
He's naive and gentle.
Childlike and innocent,
brave and loyal, artistic and creative.
Oh my God.
It's like you.
You and him are like brother's sister.
Again, can I go back to number one saying
he's a hunchback of facial deformity?
Yeah, well that's where your similarity stop.
Right.
But then why did you take a photo of him and put it next to my photo?
That is damning evidence, Clint, I must say.
Meg said I look like Shrek when he's human.
Yeah, your outfit does look like Shrek.
You're wearing a leather vest and like a green t-shirt.
Anyway, I think for what we've got around,
we're all bullying each other.
I've got a question, Dan, you have something else to tell us.
I just said a little bit of something that happened to me yesterday.
Now I go to the same barber every time I get a haircut.
Lovely barber, Tommy Guns.
Wouldn't have a bad word said about it.
The problem is, like, you could go to a great barber,
but if they've got three different guys there,
the downside being a guy is that when you just wait,
you get whoever's next.
And sometimes I'm like, I can watch.
No, I'm watching them.
And the guy I want, I know is going slower than the guy who I know I'm about to get.
And then you've got to do those awkward thing where you're like,
hey, man, all good.
I'm just going to wait for him.
I don't care who I get.
They're all good.
Really?
No, Meg, you would have one person cuts you here.
Yeah, I've had the same head.
of 13 years.
Yeah.
Every time,
anytime my hair
has been dyed or cut
from the past 13 years
as people have.
Well, I changed them up.
Anyway, so yesterday
I had a man I'd never had before.
I've never had him do anything to me
before in my life.
He was new.
I've never seen him.
Well,
it sounds like he's definitely done stuff to you.
Outside of,
that was really.
The way you said that,
now I'm starting to suspect
he's done more than catching.
And the realms of hair cutting.
And anyway,
he was like,
when I got there,
you know how sometimes
when you're in the public eye,
you get people
that sometimes
will recognize you, but not know from where from.
And I get it a lot, especially in radio, because a lot of people just hear you, and sometimes
I'll see a little bit of social media, and they'll go, where do I know you from?
And it happened with this guy that was cutting my hair.
And it's an interesting thing to do, because people don't know what to say, and then you
don't know what to say.
I don't want to go, well, you might have heard me on the edge.
Yeah, it's so embarrassing.
So I just go, oh, maybe I'll just go.
My go-to is I've got one of those faces, and that's what I said to him.
and I thought I'd sort of quashed it at that point
But then he kept going
No, I've seen your face somewhere
And the things he suggested that he'd met me from
Were fucking insulting
Here we go
So first of all he went
Did you teach children 10 years ago
So that puts me at least 45
Easy
Like so I'm 37 for those playing at home by the way
So he's gone
Did you teach you?
And he looked like he was in his like 30s
So he's going, did you teach me when I was 18?
No, I didn't.
Do you look like an old teacher of his?
Yeah, okay, that's insulting.
There's a lot of young teachers, but if he thinks you taught him, that's different.
He then asked me, do I drive a bus?
I don't drive a bus. I've never driven a bus.
It is a dream of mine.
And then the one that really got me was, do you work at the tip out in West Auckland?
And I said, no, I do not work at the tip.
I almost went, I work in fucking radio.
Why didn't he then go, well, what do you do for work?
Wouldn't that be a natural second question?
He didn't sort of ask that.
He was just, I just kept going, no, oh God, funny, no.
I'd have never been in a question.
Could you ask to keep your little blondie spots?
No, I said to him, I was like, can you take them down?
He's like, if you're going to want them down, I'm going to have to take the whole hair down
because they had to match the rest.
And I was like, oh, keep them for another.
Another ring.
Take them to the tip.
The guys in the tip lover.
They all love it.
He would have.
Had to have come clean about where he works eventually, though, Meg, because
Dan gets a free haircut
because he works on the edge
So when that guy went to ring up the bill
Did you actually pay for a haircut
Or do you have to then tell him
Sorry he's got a mouthful of 17 M&M's
Sorry, I just tried to have a sneaky bit of M&M there
No so he
The guy that does the haircut
Does not do the payment at the till
There's another lady that I know called Joe Lovely
And she's the boss of the thing
She does all the bills there
So she takes the till
But she doesn't take any money from you
But you'd pay at the start
So I just walk
straight out. Right. And so when
you leave, does she, and when people go, well, hold on
he didn't pay. Do she's out? All their processes you pay before you get
the haircut. Right. So everyone just knows because
you're a celebrity. Much of haircuts done, you're gone. You're a celebrity
don't pay. They do a lot of celebrities there as well.
Also, they have. You are a celebrity.
Well, if I wouldn't be getting free haircuts if I wasn't
Glit. Lose a bullet. Take his bullet.
Take his bullet. Lose a bullet. Let's a bullet.
Calling itself a celebrity, you lose one. You can't do that.
No.
Put one in the box.
Box.
I'll still be leading, I don't care.
No, but they do have real celebrities.
They've got a couple of warriors that come in.
And Terry Serapisos.
Oh, he used to own the Phoenix, didn't he?
And then he ended up going bankrupt or whatever,
because he was leveraged pretty hard.
Allegedly.
Didn't he have, like, Lamborghinis, getting repo and stuff?
Was he the...
Pretty short was he ever, like...
The Trump of New Zealand in the way that they did that...
Your apprentice?
Yeah, was that him?
Yeah, and he was, yeah.
I mean, I'm just saying all allegedly now
because I don't actually know.
I don't want to get done for defamation,
but I don't know.
The media kept reporting on money troubles and everything.
But I think he owned the Phoenix, didn't he?
Wellington Phoenix.
Yeah, he was the host of the apprentice.
Let's have a look.
Territory.
And did he own Mike Perro mortgages or was that Mike Perro?
Unpaid loans.
Mike.
Right.
Yeah, right.
There was something like that.
Unpaid loans leave mum facing eviction in Wellington.
Oh, allegedly.
Now always put allegedly.
I mean, it's in the news.
And who's the other guy?
Terry Serapis and who?
And one of the warriors, I don't know,
but they have a lot of Warriors merch,
so I think he brings it in every time.
I bring nothing.
Oh, right, so he brings in something.
So it's a bit of give and take relationship.
Yeah, yeah.
Yours is just take.
I think for them, they can hang their hat on that they cut down from the edges here.
Well, no, the guy who cuts your hair, he's not bragging about it.
He's cutting the dude from the tip.
Yeah.
That's true.
He's like, guys, a bit of a claim to fame,
the guy that works at West Auckland tip
came in the other day.
Today on the Overtinkers podcast.
This one's for the boys.
Although I think girls can kind of, I guess,
have input in it as well.
Would you rather...
Okay.
Piss a marble.
Jesus fucking Christ, is that where we're at?
Okay.
Or poop a softball.
Poop a softball.
What?
I think...
I've heard there people that pass kidney stones,
don't you?
have to wee them out and they reckon it's excrucied.
And that's not the size of a marble.
I remember I was as a kid staying at my grandma and granddad's house.
And I remember one night, I heard my granddad going,
ooh, oh, oh, oh, oh, like that.
Thank you, Clint.
I appreciate that.
Get a bullet for that, actually.
Thank you.
Yeah, bullet.
Thank you, Dan.
Give me bullet.
You go, you know what, have mine.
I don't get it.
Yeah, that was perfectly time, thank you.
And then that's the end of the story.
I don't know what that does to relate to my would you rather claim.
All right, if you want to send in the time you heard, your grandparents having six.
I don't do that.
I mean, Dad's been like that today.
I actually can't even bring up what he said to us off here out of the blue
where we said we didn't ask for that.
You can do that on this podcast.
No, I can't.
No, I'll have it not.
I'll have it.
No.
Dan just said something very sexual.
My granite had kidney stones.
That's the reason he was making the noise, as according to Grandma.
That makes more sense.
She said he was passing a kidney stone.
Oh, of course she's going to say that to you.
How old were you at the time?
Seven.
Yeah.
Around that age, I guess.
That's a great excuse.
That's what you would tell a seven-year-old.
Next time you get caught being a bit loud in the bedroom, so it was passing a kidney stone.
Oh, yeah, because how often is that happening?
Very really.
Both kidney stones and having fun of the bedroom.
Yeah.
Yeah, no, Dan just brought up a very sexual thing that he supposedly did or didn't do.
completely out of the blue.
He just said it.
I'm not going to say it, but I'm saying that you said it.
We were off here and then Clint goes,
all right, I didn't ask, I didn't want to hear about that.
Sorry, you confuse me for somebody who wants to know about your solo player sex life.
I'm not. I don't know.
One time we went down to electric have,
I'm only going to talk about this once,
and I'm not going to refer to the thing that you're referring to.
And I think we've spoken about it at nauseam on this podcast,
about how I shared a room with Clint,
the most fucking, like,
lovely guy.
No, the most infative, generating,
sad,
you started on his head.
Sad, pathetic little man.
When he was asleep,
it was the funniest thing I've ever experienced.
A bit of evidence, one.
I'd got to bed earlier because Clint was still out drinking
Hineken with all his mates and probably
doing other stuff.
Me and Dad got a cheesecake and went home.
We went to, like 7.30.
Me and I came home for a bitch and a cheesecake.
I want to go home like quarter past nine.
Dad's already asleep.
It wasn't 3 a.m.
I remember we were on the,
We're at electric haven't.
We're like, should we go home and have a bitch?
And so we went home and had a bitch and we ordered room service cheesecake.
Anyway, then I was like, this is made me tired.
I'll go to bed and we kiss good night.
And we went to our separate rooms.
See you later.
Anyway, so then I went to sleep.
Clint stumbles in at like 2 a.m.
Senting me a voice message at the time.
Yes, we approved.
What time would it be?
It was very late at night or early in the morning.
It was late for people.
No, it would have been.
And you came in sending me a voice message.
And I wish I still had it, but I've changed phones.
My God.
And you said, Meg, I'm going to fart on his head.
Which is honestly a fucking horrible offence.
If you worked at anywhere other than media work,
which is the shittest employer I've ever worked with,
you would be out on your fucking ass.
Okay, because I dropped the fart in Dan's face while he was sleeping.
Okay, now, would you rather your co-worker fart on your face
way having to sleep or find out that your co-workers ended up getting your pillow
removing the
Tricky
The pillow case
And then rubbing your pillow
That you sleep on
All over their gooched genitals
And butthole
And taking photos of them doing it
And then sending you the photos
Going that pillow you slept on
They've been rubbing that all over my foreskin
Oh I didn't do that
Which is worse
I didn't do that
That we
There might have been four skin touch you
Which is worse
Yeah
Sorry
I was involved in both
And I don't think
Miggs Foreskin went anywhere
Well, let's give him one.
