Episode Date: August 30, 2026

Starting point is 00:00:00 This is a podcast from Rover. This is the Overthinkers podcast. Kelda, welcome. Clint Megan Dan, your host. We just finished our radio show. So jumping in to give you a little more Clint Meg and Dan. Yeah, good one today, wasn't it me? A bloody good show.
Starting point is 00:00:15 Good for the wrong reasons, maybe. Oh, it was one of those shows where you'd listen and go, Jesus, they're having a nightmare. But God, it's funny. Yeah, I mean, Dan started flirting. It seemed like he was flirting with one of the callers. And we said, are we actually getting to experience Dan's live flirt game? try it with the next caller.
Starting point is 00:00:31 So he's like, hey, Kelly. And then Kelly's like, hey, man. So then Dan goes, oh my God, what are the chances? I flirt with someone and it's a dude. Named Kelly. And then we go, so Kelly, who would you take? And Kelly goes, oh, I'd take my husband and my kids. So it was just a woman with a deep voice.
Starting point is 00:00:47 Which obviously could still be a man, but we believe it was a woman with a deep voice. The dad insulted. But it wasn't my fault. And you know what? It wasn't as bad as Meg's blunder. And I have the audio. Well done. What about you, Trani? Trani.
Starting point is 00:01:04 Trani. Sorry. Spelling. Good morning. Trani. Trani morning. What was your old job? And what was your new job? Sorry, I marked that up. That's all right. No, my old job. So I used to work for countdown, like as a duty manager and stuff and supervisor. I'm now a police officer. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:01:28 Upgrim. Now. Sorry. Meg there's off here. Meg's left the show. She's walked out and left us with the grenade. I'm sorry that we've referred to your wrong name there. We're not going to go back to it because it was...
Starting point is 00:01:43 I thought I was going to die. I couldn't breathe. Oh, God. I think that's an upgrade. Sorry about that. I'm Team Meg here. And for two reasons. Trani.
Starting point is 00:01:54 Who names her daughter Trani? Because, I mean, it's cruising for a train. No, I know a trans. I know a trans. So I think that's why I thought... that's, you know, it would just be extended. And secondly, I blame producer Carl. I'm sure he spelled it wrong as well.
Starting point is 00:02:08 Like, do we know exactly how her name is spelled? Yeah, I asked her straight after. I was like, hey, how do you spell it, by the way? And she said exactly that. So it's TRAN. She must get it all the time then. N-I. T-R-A-N-I.
Starting point is 00:02:21 Trani. Trani. Trani. Trani. I would say if I was naming my daughter and I was going, now, what can they get out of Trani? I would instantly go, she's going to get called Trani. She needs an R in there. She needs an R.
Starting point is 00:02:33 H, T-R-A-H, Trani. Oh, that, yeah. Then I'd say T-R-A-H-N-Y, Trani. I almost died on the show because of you, Meg. Yeah. Honestly, I kept breathing out, breathing out. I had no more error left in my lungs,
Starting point is 00:02:47 and I couldn't breathe in. And you've got to be careful, me, because he was getting to that age where, like, he could pass away on the show. Do you know CPR? I know CPR. Yeah, but I'm not doing the mouth bit. I'll do the pushing you to the mouth,
Starting point is 00:02:56 don't worry about it. It's fine. I'm like, Meg, he's breathing. He's fine. Today on the Overtinkers podcast. We're overthinking. Yeah, Klan, what have you got for us? Butt doctors.
Starting point is 00:03:07 Oh, for fuck sake. Honestly. Come on, Clint. Hear me out. My friend has an issue with their butt. And so I was like, who do you go to? No, it's not me. And I'm like, who do you even go to for that?
Starting point is 00:03:21 And they have like a doctor who specialises in butt stuff. I thought you just to go to the doctor. And then you get sent to the butt doctor. Yeah, like a specialist. They're being sent to like a specialist person that, that just specialises in butt stuff. Now, what, and a sliding scale of zero to 100, what part does the fetish start coming into your profession?
Starting point is 00:03:44 Because you can't tell me that when you want to become a doctor, you can't tell me that they go, Dan, what would you like to do? And you go, oh, I just like to do a surgeon. They go, oh, too many of those, mate. Anything else? You go, oh, okay, well, I could be like an ear or a nose or throat specialist. and they go, nah, sorry, max capacity for them as well.
Starting point is 00:04:04 You know who we do need, butt doctors. And you're going, okay. I'll be one of them if I have to. No. Who's choosing it? I'm setting this one out. Turn around both of you. You know, if you're a butt doctor, you have to be intrigued.
Starting point is 00:04:26 You have to be intrigued by butts. You have to enjoy butts. No, people are just like you. sexualising every day. There's also no such thing as a fucking butt doctor. There's not. There's just not. My wife is a doctor and there's no such thing as a butt doctor. Even if there is, they specialise an anus maybe or something.
Starting point is 00:04:42 They're not called a but doctor. They're called a proctologist or a corall rectil surgical surgeon. So you're telling me that they do it. Obviously no one wants to be doing that. If there's no fetish involved, you're saying... Of course there's no fetish involved. So therefore, you are purely doing it
Starting point is 00:04:59 for the charitable acts that no one else wants. Also, it's like people don't choose to be a gynaecologist because they love vaginas. I disagree. Meg, I've got the perfect answer for this and it's the truest answer and I've asked my wife this many a time because I have wondered similar things. Not about the fetish stuff because that's just a fucking weird question to ask. Well, fetish is maybe the wrong word. There is a reason why these doctors become very specific things like, in your words, a butt doctor, is because you can earn very, very good money being a specialist doctor.
Starting point is 00:05:28 They're absolutely. Specializing wrists. Because there's hardly anybody there that's going to be a proctologist. And you know what, as well, there is actually a lot of things that can go wrong with your anus. It's huge. And so doctors that are in that field earn an incredible amounts of money because there's not many of them. I've had one up there. Your husband's not a doctor.
Starting point is 00:05:55 Yes. Bullet. Bullet for you. That's good. No, you should definitely ask to see. is PhD. And I think Meg deserves one as well. She took a few literal bullets.
Starting point is 00:06:15 No, okay. Fetish is the wrong thing, but I'm like, okay, so what is your motivation? Money. You're saying it's purely money. Money, money, money, money. Wouldn't you be an eye doctor? They make a lot of money?
Starting point is 00:06:27 It's true, you can. You can earn but tons doing prosodologists. All right, let me. There's also like a lot of, of specialists. I know that skin specialists can earn a lot of money, like dermatologists in New Zealand. Wouldn't you rather do that? Then look at anuses every day. But there's probably more of them.
Starting point is 00:06:41 I think that you could probably count on your hand, your right hand, the amount of proctologists in New Zealand. There'd be only like six or seven of them. And there might be people... Six or seven. You're too immature for this. There might be people that also
Starting point is 00:06:55 had fathers or people in their lives that they lost to you know, cancers and they said I'm going to fix that. Okay. Doctor's true to choose to become propologists, apparently, because the specialty offers rapid symptom relief, high impact patient outcomes, and a balanced lifestyle. So apparently, medical professional set is a deeply rewarding career,
Starting point is 00:07:16 even though the public may... Honestly, Meg. They offer life savings here. He's the oldest one on the show. Treat serious conditions like colon cancer early, so saving a life case a surgeon's strong sense of purpose because they know they can actually fix them instead of always being really like debilitating and down.
Starting point is 00:07:33 And you're not constantly looking at, butts all day. Like there'd be a lot of that. Advanced technology, robots in the surgery a lot. Predictable hours, unlike general emergency surgery, proctology allows more stable and predictable
Starting point is 00:07:46 schedule. Just think it's a strange thing to focus your entire specialty towards when there are so many parts of the human body you could choose. But you could say that about a throat specialist or like tongue specialist or anything like that. It's an underserved field, so obviously, yeah, lots of money, man, man, minim.
Starting point is 00:08:01 Well, I just think the people that go, I'm going to be a gynaecologist or I'm going to be a butt doctor. They're not called a butt doctor. Proctologist. A proctologist. If you go to someone and they say they're a butt doctor, you've gone to someone that's wanting to look at your butt.
Starting point is 00:08:15 And they probably have got a fetish. How much would you need to get a year, Dan, to be a proctologist? Not much. I think it would, like, I would probably want the going rate for it. But I wouldn't. We find out what it is. I'd say they're on at least 600K a year. At least, that'd be starting rate.
Starting point is 00:08:30 I'd start staring at butt holes for that. Okay. But they wouldn't be great ones. either. You steer at one. You steer it one on Saturday night that you were telling us.
Starting point is 00:08:37 Yeah, about $520,000 a year plus. Half a mill. Yeah, but starting starting for about 185. No. But the problem is
Starting point is 00:08:45 you're always looking at infected ones or like bad ones. Same with gynecology and you're sitting and they're going yeah, vaginas but they're all going to be
Starting point is 00:08:52 infected or sore or just think it's a very strange like turn to go right that is me for the rest of my life.
Starting point is 00:09:02 I just do you say that all penis doctors are gay? Not the lady ones. Honestly. Sometimes gay, you forgot women can be doctors?
Starting point is 00:09:16 Can you imagine what he would have been like in his early teens, early 20s? Like how immature he is now. He's 41. But I was just chatting to my mate about it going, how does you get into that field and like you'd have to have an interest in butt to become a proctolyte.
Starting point is 00:09:32 Well, if you're not interested in them at all, why would you end up in the field? You're interested in money. Yeah, it's nothing to do. do with the, they don't go, oh, fuck, I love an ass, let me get into that field. They go all, what's wrong with you? I'm, I'm sick. Well, why do you become a fireman? A lot of the time as well, you go to saving people's
Starting point is 00:09:47 lives. Yes, and that's what they like doing. They're like saving people's lives. You've answered your own fucking question. Firemen don't like become firemen because they like fire. And also, also a lot of the time he's just clicked. He's just just clicked. And can I also say, a lot of the time when you study medicine, you go to
Starting point is 00:10:02 medical school and you don't know what you're going to do. It's like when we went to AUT to study communications. I went in going to wanting to be a journalist. And I came out at radio person. Someone might go in wanting to be a GP and come out as a butt doctor. You know, like a bug doctor, Dan. They're called a proctologist.
Starting point is 00:10:17 Oh, fuck. That's so disrespectful, Dan. You said you had another thing. Can we do the other thing? Well, the other thing was the tranny bit. Oh, fuck. No. Well done.
Starting point is 00:10:27 What about you, tranny? Honestly. Those are the two bits. You said confidently I've got two bits for the, think is podcast today. The best part of the radio show and also the butt doctor stuff. I wanted to know like what sort of as a percentage one to a hundred do you think the interest of butts draws you in and then therefore the money. So I'd say the money's 80% of the job. 20% would have to be your enjoyment of butts.
Starting point is 00:10:54 I've got to, I've been offered something which I can move away from butt doctors if we want. Proctologists. Okay. So I've got a friend who works for an airline. I'm not going to name the airline, but it's not near New Zealand. Okay, switch jet stuff. Go on. No.
Starting point is 00:11:08 Quintas. No, it's not a New Zealand airline. Emirates. Stop naming airlines. And they are basically the head of recruiting for aircrew. Oh, wow. There's a lot of rules with that. So they essentially choose who they put through the course to become air hostesses and air stewards and that sort of thing.
Starting point is 00:11:29 We were catching up with them on the weekend because they were one of Hannah's good friends. And they asked how radio was going and I was saying, I love my job, love working with me. Clint can be a bit of a chore. But, you know, all this stuff.
Starting point is 00:11:42 And they said, if you ever want to pivot, you would be easily, we'd take you on in a heartbeat for being an heir steward. Why? You don't have any skill in that whatsoever. What are your transferable skills?
Starting point is 00:11:55 Go do it. I've got a good reach. Okay, me and cut him, what? Apparently she said, this didn't ever cross my mind. But she said,
Starting point is 00:12:02 we look for tall guys, especially, quite a good reach. So a lot of the time... Roll play. The most important role is surely customer service in delivering food and you go to the vending machine
Starting point is 00:12:14 and never ask us if we want anything. Here's a bit of role play. The e-hostesses don't pay for the fucking food they give the people. They go, oh, I can't read them. Yeah, I'll hand out food very well. Oh, hi, it's my first time on a plane I'm a little bit nervous.
Starting point is 00:12:26 Oh, don't worry about it. Very few planes crash. And if they do, you know what, it's... Name something you did today before you got on the... the plane? I pack my bag. You're more likely to die packing your bag than on a plane.
Starting point is 00:12:40 How would she die doing that? It's my husband. A plane could crash into your house. Yeah, but then that would show that place. Oh, that's a bad bad. No, sorry. That's a weird, terrible. Name another thing. How did you get here? I drove in a car. Okay, you're more likely to die in a car crash than on a plane. Fact. People do die in car crashes, though. Who's this guy? That's my husband, I told you.
Starting point is 00:13:01 So what I'm saying is, if you should stop interrupting because I'm just trying to talk to this before. I don't talk to my husband like that, please. Yeah, okay, sorry. Well, sorry about that, sir. Yeah. Do you want a free coffee? I prefer a champagne. Okay, we'll get a champagne to you.
Starting point is 00:13:14 And just what I'm saying is, the likelihood of this plane crashing is very slim. And does the slide come down, the inflatable slide thing? If we ditch into water or onto the ground, yes. Oh, so what else are we going to land on if it's not the water or the ground? It may be a fucking runway, you dumb cunt. Please, like to expect. What if we land on the runway?
Starting point is 00:13:31 If we land on a runway, why we need to put the slide down? Because we've had a belly landing. Is that... Do you can't? We sometimes have a non-belly landing. It's never going to happen. I'm just saying the chances of that are... What are the meals today?
Starting point is 00:13:44 I'm gluten-free, dairy-free and not intolerant. Honestly, get off the plane. It's a nightmare. Five minutes in. If we weren't at 10,000 feet, I would ask you. If they open the doors, I've got a couple to send off. Also, man in the suit. Me and my wife were thinking of joining the Mile High Club later.
Starting point is 00:14:03 And I know that's probably frowned upon. What would happen if we got caught? Well, I'd probably turn a blind eye at the starters. Because if the toilets were busy, I would go, I'd knock on the door and give you a bit of a warning. But if it's, you know what? By the way, it's blocked. Can you clean it?
Starting point is 00:14:20 Was that you? My wife has big bowel movement sometimes. Lots of fibre. You're nervous about the plane's crashing. She needs to see a butt doctor. Oh, for fuck the sake. I need a week. Go away.
Starting point is 00:14:33 I'll do that thing where I go, have we got a butt doctor on board? Is there anybody here that's a butt doctor? Oh, yes, me, bloody pivot. Rover, music, radio, podcasts.
