This is a podcast from Rover.
This is the Overthinkers podcast.
All right.
Good morning, guys.
I was looking up some old prep sheets for us and found some old content that maybe we could see if it's any good for this.
How many years ago are we talking?
I can't tell, but it's on our show, Dan.
So it's the Clint Megan Dan show.
So I don't think we used some of these things.
Okay, well, that's good because sometimes, you know, with radio, people that have never done it.
before. You come up with a lot of ideas, especially a breakfast show, which we do normally.
Every day. Every fucking day. We're having to come up with shit to talk about. And it gets tiresome,
if I'm honest. And so sometimes you just throw shit at a wall, don't you? And hope it sticks.
And other times it doesn't stick and it just slides down that wall. And then the skid mark.
Oh, I remember some of them stuff. Some of these, we had to make it from sains. This was a while
ago and we decided to try and get some sains off the ground. Can I get them to you, Cal, and see if you think you like them.
Please.
These are the ones that we thought were good enough to possibly pass.
Do I even try to figure out what they mean as well?
Well, yeah, they should be obvious because they're saying.
You've brought bears to an AA meeting.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
Well, that means you're sort of you're not doing the right thing.
Yeah, yeah.
You're confused, mate.
You've brought bears to an AA meeting.
Okay.
You're like a shark who got a cut in their own tail.
Oh, I don't know that one at all.
I think it's like, it's like,
No, I think that's quite deep
You're your own worst enemy, almost
You know, like, that's an immense
Like you're just, you're self-sabitage
You're like a shark who got a cut in his own tail
So like he's sniffy blood
So he's just like, you're taking it, okay, shut up
You go around the circles
Right, I'm not putting petrol in Tesla
That's a weak one
I'm not, no, I guess you could say
I'm not putting petrol
I'm not going to put hard work into something
That doesn't need it
Is that it? No, not really
No, because then you'd be saying
That it's hard work to fill up a car with petrol
Even a trash fire looks warm from a distance.
What?
But it does, though.
But a trash fire does, it is warm.
The switch is on, but the fuse board is blown.
Oh, yeah, okay.
Yeah.
That means that you're like a bit sort of like ditsy,
but the lights are on, but no one's home kind of vibe.
Yeah, that's a good one.
Don't build a spa and a war zone.
Far out.
So I think that one's about like trying to like, don't put your roots down weird.
Like, no, I fucking don't know.
No, I get it.
It's like, you, uh, I don't know.
I've got more.
Do you want to go through the rest?
Are they all the same shit as these ones?
Yes.
Okay.
Okay.
You're filing a return before the package has arrived.
Getting ahead of yourself, I guess.
Or what do you call it?
Pre-ending?
That's going to be bad.
You're counting your chickens before the hatched kind of a high.
You have butted both sides of the toast.
That makes no.
That's just literally going.
You've butted both sides of the toast.
I don't know what that means.
That's greasy.
Greasy fingers.
You know what that could be.
They could be you're getting both sides of the tea, you know.
you're buttering both sides to
fuck I don't know
Confidence isn't about being loud
It's about knowing when to be quiet
Good, that's good
I don't know that it just feels like an inspirational quote
You pulled out of your ass
Was that mine?
That's what smartest things I've ever said
You've just put a filter on a crap photo
Hmm
It's like putting makeup on an ugly face
Yeah
You're smoking sickies at a petrol station
Oh I like that one
Because it's kind of like
Oh you're in trouble
Don't shit on your own door
step kind of vibe.
You don't water dead plants with oat milk.
That's a me.
What the fuck?
What the fuck is that me?
That's crazy.
That's not me.
Right, two more.
You took soup on a roller coaster.
What do you expect?
That's Meg.
And you know what?
You'd be the only person I'd think would do that.
I think that's a good one.
I like it.
What are you expected?
You took soup on a roller coaster.
I mean, you're going to get covered.
I think that's good.
And no one talks about the time.
No one talks about how tired the early bird is.
That was one of dance.
That was a good one from me.
Actually, that was really good.
No one goes, oh, the early bird looks tired because they never are.
They're fucking always up and out of it, aren't they, those early birds?
Anyway.
Another segment we've done on the show, which, Cal, I don't believe you've played before.
And it's a real exercise in having an open brain and an open mind.
I've got a very, very, like almost too open mind.
Okay.
So this is good.
So it's the game I like to call the mouth.
talks before the brain.
Oh, no, this is not what I think.
That's what I do every day.
And so all it is, now, you just don't think.
Okay, blank.
Okay, and producers you're involved in this as well.
Brady, Carl.
Yep.
Okay, we're going to play the game where you don't think and talk.
Oh, I remember this.
Okay, so I'm just going to say a name.
And if you hear your name, don't think.
I have played this.
Just run your mouth.
I don't think I have to say one word or you just say whatever comes out.
No, ideally a sentence.
But if it's just one word.
I'll keep talking until you change names.
No.
I think just say
you won't be able to talk much because you're not thinking
if you're saying a full sentence
It always gets dirty
No it doesn't
Well here's the problem
You shouldn't be thinking
So if you are not thinking and it comes out dirty
There's something wrong with you
This is the default setting in my brain
Dan
Andrew Garfield's nice
See I didn't think anything about that
Andrew Garfield wasn't even in my brain
Meg
I don't like it when you say that
My name.
Now, here's the thing.
Sometimes the words that come out aren't English.
Carl!
Red!
I'm, palm.
Meg.
I don't know what I go to...
That's not.
I need English.
I need English.
Brady.
Descript.
He's working hard.
He's working on.
He's working on it.
It's okay.
Dan.
Handy me, my mom.
It's hard to have words
Keg
Keg
Somebody said cow
Who said cow
I said Meg
No you've thought too much
Cow
No you've thought to
I've tried to start a segment
And it hasn't worked
I quite like it
Okay
Meg
I don't know where we're going today
See she hadn't even thought
That's the thing
Wow every time we say
Every time it's I don't know though
Carl
Big bottom whale
I actually find it really hard to
I find it hard to shut my mind off
It's like I try to go quiet
But then I'm just trying to think of something that I might say
Handy me
Oh, I did it again
See something's wrong with me
Something's wrong with me
Handy me mum
Handy me my mum
My mama
Mama
Mommy's milk
Anyway so oh that's been a shambles
Sorry about that
Dan
Call me maybe
It's nothing in there
Nothing.
There's nothing in my brain.
Brady.
Isn't that so great?
See, yeah.
It's really hard to get out words.
You have to force your mouth to talk.
Candyman can.
What the fuck?
Candy man.
Oh, the candy man.
Meg.
I don't know where we're going again.
I don't want to get maps up.
Okay.
We've got a little game of is it cheating.
Dada da da.
Oh.
Playing the sound.
Would you like to?
Yeah, okay.
We're just absolutely throwing shit at the wall.
What's the sound?
Honestly, we came into,
Cal turned on the, let us be honest
and people would have already come to this conclusion.
We turned on the mics and I went
oh wait and then we just went straight into it.
We'd done no prep for this whatsoever.
I have prep. I have Is it Cheating? And I had that
other game. Okay.
Okay, let's play As It Cheating.
Thank you.
Here we go. Here comes the thing.
Thanks, Calvin.
It says,
Is it cheating sting?
Just don't worry about it.
I don't often say this.
I don't often say this. Should we start again?
No.
No.
It's a bit of, it's a bit of, it's a bit of loose to getting out of here, Dan.
Don't you dare.
We're going to bring it back.
We're going to play a game of Isset cheating.
Here we go.
Just head off.
Something.
Not.
There's it.
Can you search in the system for Visit Cheap?
There should be an intro band there.
I did.
Just give it anything else.
Just an overthinkers sweeper.
I just start again.
This is the Overthinkers podcast.
When's Clint back?
Go!
Your partner shares an inside joke with a colleague and you're not a part of it.
Not cheating.
Fuck, some people are pathetic if I think that's cheating.
Your partner shares an inside joke with someone that you're not...
And you're not a part of the joke.
So, like, they've got this joke and they'll go, ha ha ha ha.
And you go, what does that mean?
Jesus, if you think that's cheating, you're a psychopath.
And they go, what does that mean?
They're like, oh, nothing's just an inside joke we have.
No.
I feel like if you'd want it explained, they should explain.
But if they don't expect, they say, oh no, you wouldn't get it.
I'll be like, okay, what's going on?
The only time that that is cheating is if that person that they've got the inside joke with is fucking them.
Right.
So, no.
It's not cheating.
No.
Thank you, Cal.
If you used to play that one more time, honestly, I'll come around there and rip you off the buttons.
You're all talk.
You're all fucking talk.
This has turned into, this has got a kind of sexual.
This has got a little sexual.
Get out.
Come over here, this side.
Done.
You're done.
See you later, Cal.
Go away.
Cal, over here.
Come on.
Go away.
Just take the mouth.
I'm kind of turned on.
Keep going.
You're going to rip them off.
Okay.
Go and sit somewhere else.
I don't make me take force.
Take force.
You would take it, wouldn't you?
You're watching a video right now.
You're about to see a fight.
Sit out, Dad.
I don't.
This is my show.
Look at you.
You're scared.
Sit down.
I kind of want to see Dan Pennell.
He's going to, he's warning him.
He's going to tackle it.
So if you want to see this, it's live on YouTube.
And it's also up on out.
Oh, he's going to take it.
He's gone.
That was pathetic
What the fuck was that?
Meg, I'm the captain now.
Oh, yeah, the captain now.
Cal, come round the spine.
Hang out with me.
Right, the next one is.
He pressed it on the way through.
If your partner confided in someone else about an issue or a fight,
you and your partner had with the night before.
I didn't hear any of that because it was fucking moving chairs.
That's a little bit more naughty.
If your partner confided in someone else,
confided in someone else about an issue,
or a fight that you had with that
with your partner.
That's a little bit more naughty.
No, I think that's fine though because it's like
you, I mean, you have to have
people that you can vent to outside of your relationship as well.
If it's, I think, it depends obviously what you're saying.
If you just vent like, oh, we had this argument,
like blah, blah, it's stressed, whatever.
I feel like that's fine.
But if you're then not going back to your partner
and having those conversations and working on it,
then it's a bit weird.
It does feel, it's like one of those things.
I think if you were...
I'm also saying this.
Guys and girls can be, obviously.
obviously friends outside of their relationships.
Of course.
But it does feel if you've got a partner who works with a woman
and you're talking to the woman about like,
oh, so and Susan was so annoying last night
and we had a fight about this.
Oh yeah, that's a bit.
It feels, yeah, it feels weird.
But I guess it would all come down, thoughts.
Well, I think that if they're confiding in a relationship out,
like if they're their best friend, it's okay.
Yeah.
But if it's a random person from work, I would start asking questions.
Yeah, wouldn't like that.
Yeah, wouldn't like that.
Okay.
And not sharing your passcode on your phone.
Um,
no, that's fine.
You mean like if they passed the phone and said like,
oh,
what you passed with to like,
I don't know,
go on and change music and stuff
and they're all cagey about it.
Yeah.
I guess it depends on what your partner's wanting to do on there.
Oh,
nah.
I've just seen that I've written some handover notes
to look after Dan when I wasn't here
when I went on maternity leave.
Some notes I gave to Ash.
You must keep Dan fed.
This is of the,
utmost importance.
Pizza shapes or Doritos are your go-to,
but lollies and chocolate can also work.
That's interesting, because she never fed me once.
And I was fucking grumpy for that three months.
Oh, God.
How interesting.
If you need a reaction now, Dan bring up Meg and Markle,
being an inspirational woman,
or Liam Lawson not being very good on the season.
Oh, yeah, she brought up that a couple of times.
That worked.
And I was grumpy because I was not fed.
Dan's whole pass is sheer.
and if Dan tells you to eat his ass, just ignore it.
Yep.
He must know me well.
Sticky blood.
Yeah.
Oh, good on you, Meg.
That is really, honestly, one of the best things you've ever said.
Thank you, Dan.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's it.
And then, um, what did I say?
Oh, here, if Clint is getting on your nerves,
it can be hard to find an insult for him.
Your fail safe is to point out that one half of his front tooth is slightly yellow.
What?
Show me your teeth, smile.
No, no, Clint's.
Oh.
What have you got?
No, I'm just trying to...
He's struggling back there.
No, I'm not.
I'm pushing buttons.
I'm fine.
Okay, and then I did some bullet points.
You ever press one button.
Dan, hates Megan Markle, loves Liam Lawson.
Next bullet point.
Makes a weird noise when you talk about cats.
I have to see a photo of a cat to really fully do it.
But this is the sound I would make.
I'll show me a photo of a cat.
I'd go.
Wow, that's also his coming noise.
Grumpy as man, you know.
Always has beef with his neighbours.
Love to buy vinyl, love Celine and Cher, and can't do a very good Michael Kaym impression.
I bloody well can.
Oh no, hold on.
What, okay.
What came from the Batman movies.
I tell you what, one thing, do you only supposed to blow the bloody doors off?
I love it.
Always the same thing every time as well.
Batman, you can't save Gopher by yourself.
You've got to have some help.
You're going to kill yourself, Batman.
That's him.
It's good.
And even when you're doing it, you kind of look like him a little bit.
Yeah.
Like you put on the face for it.
Yeah.
Okay.
So is that the end of the segment?
It can be.
Yeah, no, it can be.
I also did some predictions of when I was in maternity leave for six months what I thought would happen.
I thought that Clint was going to get a Japanese tattoo, damn.
I thought that Dan was going to commit to a new workout regime where he intends to get shredded for summer and get abs.
I said that Dan and Clint will co-write and sing a parody song.
I said that Dan would start a new collection.
Trading cards or comic books.
Damn, it was cars.
It was your fucking cars.
It was cars.
But damn it.
But damn it.
Clint will have three hair changes.
While away, consistent of growing it out and then dying it.
And then shaving it.
That one's pretty good.
God, yeah.
I did really well.
God, you are a good co-host.
Thank you so much.
And that's the end of it?
Yep.
Okay, I've got to play this.
How do I play like the show intro thing?
Is this it?
And you sure got a friend in the breeze.
You wouldn't even listen to my amazing content.
I was trying to find the intro.
Where's that?
Really.
Because this whole time I've been trying to bring something
and you've been standing there doing some sort of fucking dumb gag
with producer carl and shit over there.
Because I heard you two talking to each other in the...
I know what they're trying to do.
They're trying to stitch me up by putting in the wrong things to play.
Right.
So what did you want to play?
Okay.
Well, I hit this is apparently it.
June.
No.
Right.
What's this?
And flagged for copyright.
Oh, bugger.
Oh, well.
There's only one thing.
play here.
God, but a nightmare.
Clint is back tomorrow.
Don't worry about it.
