Meg opens up about her monthly "luteal phase" rages (and why Guy is living on the edge), Clint admits to getting his garage door fixed via AI, and the crew reads the terrifyingly accurate final pages of their hypothetical AI-written biographies. Starting point is 00:00:00 This is a podcast from Rover. This is the Overthinkers podcast. Kiyo-da, welcome. Plenty to get to on the pod this morning for us. We just finished the radio show. Oh, and you know what? It's a pleasure to have you there. Bit of an update on, was it Friday's podcast,
Starting point is 00:00:18 where we were rating ourselves out of 10 and the gamers that if you don't land within 0.5 either side, the margin of error of what 100 people would average you at, you die. Yeah. There's a bit of an update. on that one and the mailbag. You got mail. So essentially we rated ourselves, didn't we,
Starting point is 00:00:37 of what people would say they thought we looked like in terms of a rating. I think I gave myself a seven. Meg, you gave yourself... 5.7. 5.7.7. And Clint, you gave yourself, what? 7.9.
Starting point is 00:00:51 People voted me, the ugliest, as usual. You both died, by the way. I'm the only one that lived that was in... Yeah, but I wasn't listening to that. I was just listening to the people saying that I was the ugliest on the show. So I kick the ugly one while he's down. Anyway, water off a duck's back.
Starting point is 00:01:03 Some chick gave me a two out of ten. Not that I remember. We got a message to the Overthinkers podcast sticking up for Meg. Oh, for me? Yeah, it's from Tyler. He said, just wanted to say, watch the Overthinkers podcast today and your numbers about you rating yourselves out of ten. This is my comment to Meg.
Starting point is 00:01:22 There is absolutely no way you're a 5.7, babe. you are 10 out of 10 in every possible way it's just can I please just interject quickly let me finish no because I'm not a 10 can I interject let me finish no okay we know the positive it's like I'm not we there in no world am I a 10 out of 10 at Megan Fox and had the way sort of it's just dumb
Starting point is 00:01:51 like it's it you know I think you are 10 out of 10 looks wise it's your personality that brings up just straight and he said in every one Yeah, he said in every way. Anyway, he goes on to say, if I were not married, if you were not married to Guy and I wasn't married as well,
Starting point is 00:02:05 you would have me hook line and sink up. That means you're in the boat, Meg. You are truly stunning. He's got you on your back. That's very, very nice of, is it a man? A man, yeah. If Guy dies or we break up, I will be going exclusively to women.
Starting point is 00:02:22 I'm sorry to tell him. Oh, sorry, Tyler. Sorry, unless Tyler is a woman and then I'll probably be. Is that cheating in your eyes, Dan? When you tell a woman there are 10, and then go, if I wasn't married, I'd have you, mate.
Starting point is 00:02:33 I don't know if Tyler's wife or partner would be stoked about her messaging you. Hopefully she's not a listener, and she's only finding out about this now. She could be a cool wife. It does piss me off in a little bit of a way because Meg was, I think, on average, voted the second best looking.
Starting point is 00:02:49 Is that right? All the best looking. Me and Clint were voted the same, 7-94. Yet I was voted the ugliest, and not one text from anyone going, oh damn. Nothing. People are going, no, they're right about that way. Would you want somebody to slip into the demons?
Starting point is 00:03:02 Did you want Tyler to say that he'd have you hook, and thinker? Yes. Anybody. I don't care. Just someone come in and say, oh God, I'd be a bit of something for me. I'd love you. We did a whole break today saying how he looks like Pete Evans, so shut the fuck up.
Starting point is 00:03:16 Pete Evans is the crazy guy from Mike at Churals. Look at him now. Have a look at him now. I think they mean now, not when he was famous. Anyone who comes in now and comes to your defence, they're only going to do it because you ask for it. No, don't bother now because it's going to look like it's a pity one. I'm sick of it.
Starting point is 00:03:30 I'm sick of people thinking I'm ugly. Oh, listen, can I just want to be the hot one in one time? Meg's in her luteal phase at the moment. I thought it'd be interesting to find out a little bit more about that as two men that kind of understand. As far as I am aware, it's the week leading up to your period, which typically hormonally means that you could be a little more. testy than the actual period week which a lot of guys get wrong.
Starting point is 00:03:57 Yes, Corrie. Thank you, Clint. I think I'm leading up to it. And this is so frustrating. I wish you guys could experience that. I really do because I was talking to a female friend, I think it was over the weekend. We were talking about the ludial phase. And how even when you know you're in it, at the time you don't know you're in it.
Starting point is 00:04:17 And then you come out of it and you go, fuck, that was the ludial again. Last Luteal phase, I nearly brought my marriage up twice. Swear to God. I was mental. I was mental in here. I was mental at home. And I mean that in the way that I, it's so frustrating. It's not like you feel it.
Starting point is 00:04:35 You go, oh, I'm getting, like I can feel a rise of pressure and there's something that physically changes. I just find myself, my, like, my fuse is much shorter. I get much angrier. I have no patience. It's not about the size of your fuse. It's the way you use it. Sorry. I'm going to blow up.
Starting point is 00:04:50 up. That's my views. And then you come out the other side. And no matter if, like, Guy was to say to me, like, I think we're in the ludial phase. If he was to say something like that. Oh, God, that's a risky thing to say. No, but I think he could probably, hmm, could he? I don't know. I don't know if he could, because I feel like a different person. And I truly do. I feel like a different
Starting point is 00:05:10 Megan happens for a week in the month. And then I come out and I go, oh, fuck. I'm lucky. I still have friends. It's like the Hulk. Truly. Truly. Truly. Do you know what to be super helpful as if when women were in their allude your face. It's like their skin colour went a little bit redder. Yes, agree. And you'd be like, oh, like, you know, we know it was a visual sign so that there could be more empathy and more... And just like, just let it just kind of let it just dust off you.
Starting point is 00:05:33 Because whatever I'm saying in that time, it's, I can't, I'm trying to think of what you, it's like when you guys are like on two hours sleep and you know when you're just like, you've just, you got nothing in you. And you're like, I'm just grumpy, I'm impatient. And I can't seem... I get shocked by it every fucking month. Every month something happens and I go, oh my God. And I'm going to lead into perimenopause and menopause. God knows what I'm going to be like when I'm actually going through menopause.
Starting point is 00:06:00 I know, Clint, we've got to stick up here. We don't notice. We don't notice, do we, Clint when she's on the, no, we don't notice, do we, Clint? Well, if you don't notice, then what you're saying is when Meg's being irrational that she's doing that so often you don't know that it's a specific week or a reason. I just think you're always happy go lucky. Oh, that's what I've always said about that. Clint, come in with me here?
Starting point is 00:06:23 No, I'm not always. No, I always think so. I always go. I quite often I'll go home and I say to my wife Hannah, I wish you were more like Megan. No, you've. And she doesn't like it. You've never said that. There will be days where you guys go, there'll be something that is said by me.
Starting point is 00:06:36 Or I'll snap it something and you'll go, ooh, it's a little bit off today. There must be, there will be days. Okay, okay. Do you give us permission that when we do figure it out, and maybe it's on air, can we go, oh, Luddy. No. I give no permission. Absolutely none.
Starting point is 00:06:52 Fire, mate. No. Claim of fire. I remember when we actually used to do on our radio show, Blame it on the Luteo? And they'd be like, I did this, and I blamed my Luteo phase. We could bring it back. But we would need to find new intros
Starting point is 00:07:04 because I'm pretty sure these were the two. It was terrible. It was the world's worst radio intro to anything. The key of the song was completely missed there. And then there was another one. we were like, that's not good enough, and this is what we got. No one, no one, we didn't win the radio award for that way. Oh, God, that's bad.
Starting point is 00:07:36 I'm going to have to try and find out when my... Next time I figure out my luriul phase, I will let you guys know, and then I never want it mentioned again by any of these boys on this team, but I want you to maybe you can just know it, and then you can go, I'm just going to go a little easy. I'm going to drop that because Meg's being irrational, and she'll calm down in three days. Okay, that's all I ask. Will the Luteal phase move, though?
Starting point is 00:07:58 Because if you have your period every 28 days and not every 30, 31, it will slowly move away from that week. Can I just say quickly as well, before I worked on the show, and this is actually probably a good thing, I had never heard of the Lutiel phase. But fuck you bang on a minute. Okay, I'm going to do something nice and sweet and wholesome.
Starting point is 00:08:24 Producer Carl, did you want to weigh in there? Oh, no, no, no, no, sorry. I need to just walk back in. I've been talking to people outside. Are we playing that game where we guess if Meg's on her Ludo? No. Okay, can I guess? Was it?
Starting point is 00:08:33 No. The week? Was it the week before? Yes. I was. When I text you? Oh, that one, yeah. That was it.
Starting point is 00:08:41 When I text Carl, I was like, Carl, I was having a ranger, wasn't I? Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was not by Lurielderio that day. All right. So just ignore all of that. We call it Lurdyo bingo behind the scenes. In the boys chat. Right.
Starting point is 00:08:58 We were going to do this on near, but it's probably more fun doing it on the O overthinkers podcast because you actually like Meg, myself and Dan, enough to download this podcast. Because it is a bit in-house. It is a bit personal. It's about us. And I don't know how we now feel.
Starting point is 00:09:14 I don't realize that there's this huge big, like, sort of movement and change now about hatred towards AI. Yes, yeah. I knew everyone was using it. It's terrible. And it's meant to use heaps of water and whatever. There's a butt coming. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:24 I thought it was still fine to use as a search engine when I go, hold on, what date is this, and what date is this? what time, like effectively like Google, but it's just going to give me better information. Before you launch into it, because I know you're going to launch it on, fair enough. But we'll just say, we all hate AI. Clint
Starting point is 00:09:39 maybe doesn't at least so, but Megan I fucking hate. I wrote an article on about two years ago, if you guys remember, and I talked about so, um, and AI, you know how much water is used for an AI search versus a Google search. The other, well, the crazy? The times that I've gone, I don't know how
Starting point is 00:09:55 anyone managed to do this without AI, was when you're traveling and we're in Japan, and I need to know which train to catch and where it would go and how much it would cost. Because you're just lost in this new country. And chat would just give me all the details, all the answers. I thought, what do we used to do when you're planning like a holiday without being able to ask chat GBT for recommendations? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:10:15 Like, just mental. Yeah, so I use that from time to time for bits and pieces. This is probably not a smart use of it because it's not actually helping me. It's just fun. But there is uses for it. I think there are genuinely as stuff that, you know, it can streamline the way you work. I get that. But when it's
Starting point is 00:10:33 doing creative stuff. Well, I saw a chick put this prompt up that said, you put this prompt into Chat ChbTee says, if you had to write a book about me, what would be on the last page based on what you know? Keep it brief without explanation.
Starting point is 00:10:49 So I asked Chat and this is what it said the last page of my book would be. Seven trees dead. He never really learned how to slow down. There was always another idea another adventure, another joke, another goal, another ridiculous story worth telling. But when he finally looked around, he realised
Starting point is 00:11:05 the good stuff had been happening the whole time. The kids laughing, his wife beside him, his mates, the work he loved, the places he'd been, the stories he'd collected, and perhaps most importantly, the people who would tell those stories long after he was gone. He'd spend his life chasing the next chapter, only to realize he'd already written a pretty good one.
Starting point is 00:11:23 So that's basically telling you to just enjoy what you've got now. And stop being like, what's next? Pass A, we could have told you that without AI. Oh my God, honestly, it's like me and I wrote that. That's what we talk about behind your back. Right. Did you want us to kill a few trees to do our own? Okay, what was, what is the prompt exactly?
Starting point is 00:11:40 If you had to write a book about me, what would be on the last page, page, based on what you know about me, brief without explanation. Oh, God, you've gone too quickly. If you had to write a book about me, what would be on the last page? Yeah, based on what you know about me,
Starting point is 00:11:59 Keep it free without explanation. Yeah, here's mine. God, I haven't pre-read this. It's fucking terrifying. Right. And in the end, she became the woman she had always been trying so hard to prove that she could be. Not because she stopped being afraid or stopped caring or stopped wanting more,
Starting point is 00:12:15 but because she finally understood that she had never needed to be less of the mother to become more of a woman. She was ambitious and soft, exhausted and extraordinary, still becoming. And the life she built was not perfect. Oh, fuck off then. People was enjoying it up until then. It was hers. What, what is that fucking mean?
Starting point is 00:12:36 And that, it turned out was the most remarkable thing. Well, honestly, they're exactly the same, really. It just means, like, we're just like, oh, it's because all I do is complain to it. It's like, do you don't hear my good bits. I'll be like, actually, fucking, I'm not going to argue with it. I'm not even reading. Hey, I do a lot of good shit that I just don't tell you about. I don't go, oh, I've had a really good day.
Starting point is 00:12:54 All it is my shit. You know what I mean? Like, I don't go to it and celebrate it. And I'm going to let you know it. it did go really well. Don't worry, my kids didn't die. All it gets is the bad bits. What do you have?
Starting point is 00:13:06 Nothing. You couldn't remember the prompt. Did you like your last page? Have you had to write a book about me? What would be on the last page based on what you know about me? Keep it brief with no explanation. Yeah. Fuck, then nothing.
Starting point is 00:13:18 What did it say? What do you mean? It's the shitter. Honestly, I've had the shittest life. And this is what it is. I've had the shittest life. How come here he gets. This was the best.
Starting point is 00:13:28 Go on. It starts with and somehow After all the overthinking The questions The plans The remote control cars and the bike Fuck me Nothing
Starting point is 00:13:42 Is that all I am I ask a lot of remote control car questions I'm chatting with tea He realised he had been living an okay life Good story all along That's it We've all got the same That's it
Starting point is 00:13:55 An okay one Not even good It was like an okay life. But we all, it's all, do we see that that's all the same? Yeah. All it's doing is saying, oh, and it was good in the end. We've killed about 14 trees. The thing I probably used
Starting point is 00:14:08 GBT4, for the best use in the weekend was my garage door started playing up. I called a guy and he goes, yeah, call out fee and have a look at it, it'll be about 250 bucks, roughly. I went and just took a photo of the garage door and said, send me the manual for this system, gave me the manual, I read through it,
Starting point is 00:14:25 two dudes with a few buttons, I fixed it myself. That's good. That's good stuff. That's when I think... Could I have done that on YouTube though. Could I? I think single-handedly, you've killed many trees. So your garage store must be nice to have a garage. Pace of shit.
Starting point is 00:14:38 Sorry, blue to your face. Coming up. Lurial, plurial, course. You can't say it. Just before we finish up for the show. Great, more? No, I just wanted to see... Meg, your patience is waiting.
Starting point is 00:14:55 I'm getting. I actually don't think I'm... Right now I actually think I'm just beat a bitch, because I don't think I'm there yet. Ludio, little. I just wanted to maybe run this past you guys to see if you guys do the same thing, or maybe I'm just an asshole.
Starting point is 00:15:07 So probably. My son had his craiche carnival over the weekend where it's like, I think it's used to raise money for the crash. Have you normally been an auctioneer for one? I did that for another thing. So it was another thing for the craig. They did a lot of fun raising.
Starting point is 00:15:22 They're richer than me. Anyway, so went along this weekend. When you go in, they give you like a whole load vouchers because it's cashless and they had a like little thing where you can pay for certain things and they give you like vouchers so you give them $15. They give you $15 worth of vouchers. You can buy cookies. Cool.
Starting point is 00:15:39 Different things that parents have made for the crash to raise money. I want did you make? So anyway, I gave her, I swiped $20 and she gave me back $20 worth of vouchers. Yeah. And I went over to the thing where there's been a whole load of baking done. I'm always a bit iffy with baking. Why? Because I'm like, I don't know your cleanliness.
Starting point is 00:15:58 Yeah, your kitchen and stuff. You know, like, so, like, I could go over to somewhere and go, I don't know where these cookies have been baked. She might have wiped her nose before she started baking them. Easily. I mean, when you think about what you have to do to be passed, to be a high stand, you have to wear hairneets, you have to wear gloves. They don't do with that at home.
Starting point is 00:16:14 And at least you know when you go into a cafe and they've got usually quite often. They've got a rating. You know that they're clean. Or there's some standards and they've got processes in place to make the cookies. Just to gentlemen, there was a sausage sizzle in the weekend. And the lady handed me a sausage with onions. And as I took it off, she went oh
Starting point is 00:16:28 and she leaned over and plugged the hair of my sausage Oh no I would have gone give me another one She didn't She didn't Shit you didn't
Starting point is 00:16:36 I was like whatever Put some sauce and mustard I was hungry I just finished a football game And so I was standing there Talking to the Bake Sale lady And she looked lovely She was like
Starting point is 00:16:45 I want to say In her 30s And she was quite A lovely looking lady Oh okay I was talking to her And I said Oh my God
Starting point is 00:16:56 Those cookies look amazing, thinking that she'd baked them. You're like, how much for a side of milk? So, anyway, she's lovely, and she's talking about she baked the cake, and then there was another thing she baked. And I said, oh my God, who baked those cookies? They look delicious. And she goes, that was Deborah.
Starting point is 00:17:12 There she is over there. Deborah, someone's wanting your cookie. I turned around. And Deborah is there. Hang. Oh, you don't want Deborah cookies. She turns around. She looks like she smokes a pack a day.
Starting point is 00:17:27 So? I don't think she has all her original teeth. She didn't chew the mixture and then put it on the place. Well, I don't know, Clint. So she goes, oh, have two. They're delicious. Honestly, she walked with a bit of a limp. Don't have nothing to do with disabilities.
Starting point is 00:17:43 No, no, it wasn't a disability, but she was definitely, she was not the person I would imagine. She doesn't look like Mar-Higgins, put it that way. So you're only buying cookies or honeies? What is fucking, I'm wrong, I'm out this team. I don't get misleuding your face or not, but that's absolutely insane. No, no. Women have to be hot To make you a fucking nice cookie
Starting point is 00:18:00 You don't deserve her cooking No I don't mean hot I mean clean Oh Bigs out Lurio She's gone And she just looked like
Starting point is 00:18:09 I think she had dirty fingers Like dirty hands And so She's gone I think she's on her Ludio Yeah definitely Overe thinkers Rover
