The Edge Breakfast - OVERTHINKERS | 121 | Is Clint an A Lister?
Episode Date: September 14, 2026On this episode of The Overthinkers, the team spiral down an AI search rabbit hole to find out who the internet thinks is the biggest A-lister on the show. The results get wild fast as the algorithms ...award Clint Hollywood-style status, credit Dan with viral internet fame, and somehow assign Meg a full beard, a love for fixing motorbikes, and the odour of fish bait. Plus, they break down what they'd do if they found $10,000 in cash, address some very flattering (and unexpected) listener feedback, and reveal their most embarrassing moments of forgetting people's names.

This is a podcast from Rover.
This is the Overthinkers podcast.
We've been Googling ourselves.
Look, I'm just going to get straight into it.
Well, they say never Google yourself.
No.
No, never Google.
Yeah, definitely, especially for people like me who are sensitive.
Yeah.
I think anybody, any normal or any person can Google themselves,
there's usually something comes up about you online.
We had the A-list-a-list, which we do once a week,
and we fight about which three celebrities deserve to be at the top.
and I don't know, I guess afterwards, then started Googling ourselves.
Yeah, I don't know how it began.
Oh, you know why?
Because I sometimes will put into Google, is this person an A-Lister?
That's not part of the rules.
We never get Google to weigh in.
And I've realized the reason why is because no matter what celebrity I put in,
it said, yes, they're widely considered an A-Lister.
Alec Baldwin, yes, widely in A-Lister.
And then I put in Jessica Albaugh, and they was like, yes, I said,
give me a celebrity that I could put in where it won't say that.
And it was actually bad baby or bad Barbie or whatever.
And then we ended up doing ourselves.
But me and Dan have been getting different answers for some of the questions.
We were Googling who's the most famous out of me, Clinton, myself.
Yeah.
My ranking, according to my search is Clint Randall, then Meg Mansel, then Dan Webby,
and Clint being undeniably, it says, the biggest A-list set out of the three of us.
In terms of New Zealand fame, he's no way.
None of us are A-listists.
No, New Zealand famous.
This is profile.
extends Fabi on Radio making him a true
cross-media household name in New Zealand.
Oh, was that AI from 2015?
Well, interesting, Meg might be
paying for, paying Google
because her one came back
that Meg is a household
name, a major local celebrity,
often referred to as a Kiwi A
Lister. She is a top-tier
radio host.
I'd say mid-tier. Media
digital presence and a brand ambassador.
It went on
and on and on about a well-known voice artist, columnist, content creator, has a large Instagram following.
No, it's not as large as both of your boys, so I don't know.
Oh, interesting, because mine was the complete opposite.
Mine says when it comes, I asked, who is the most famous between Clint Meag or Dan?
So I didn't say A-list to be fair.
And it said, when it comes strictly to fame and fame online and in the world, Dan Webby takes the crown.
where Clint is more famous on a traditional television,
Dan's background as a digital first creator
makes them the most successful at racking up millions of views on TikTok.
So then it doesn't mention anything.
So then you scroll down about me.
Did it know you were doing the search?
Maybe your AI strikes your ego more.
Isn't that interesting?
Although mine still didn't say that was the most famous on my own.
But then it says, so number one, Dan Webby,
massive internet.
So it's saying I'm on the internet famous.
Then Meg Mansel second, a highly followed base, incredibly strong loyal Instagram presence.
She connects deeply with Kiwi, smart and dumb.
I don't know why it said that.
Smart and dumb.
Is that just describing me, smart and dumb?
No, like, you connect with smart and dumb people.
It's to say that?
Yes.
No, it doesn't.
And then Clint was number three.
He's traditionally famous through television and terrestrial, but not on an online way.
We can't trust the internet because I just ask the,
exact same question. Who's the most famous out of those three?
Clint Randall was definitely the most
famous out of the three. Clint wins
with face value. Clint
has a massive advantage when it comes
to prime television, dancing
with the stars and the masked singer. However,
this has proved to be not as popular as it once
was. Yeah, amen.
Okay, producer Gar,
maybe you need to do an unbiased search
where you don't have any skin in the game.
Yeah, I'm just having a look now.
What does it matter?
Yeah, it does actually, Dan.
Yeah, yeah, no, it definitely does now.
It says Clint Randall is definitely the most famous on a nation level by a long shot.
By a long shot, Meg.
Do I relate to smart and dumb people?
Prompt on TV as long as I've already for years.
TV shows like Mars singer.
Can you ask you who relates to the dumbest people?
Okay, here we go.
Oh, that'll be me.
I think Meg's got more of a...
Dan Weebbe's virality is driven by awkward self-deprecating comedy sketches,
while Clint has Hollywood-style fame.
Who?
Dan's internet native
Everyman appeal has earned him over 1.3 million likes.
I will say this, though, Clint.
You are the only one that starred in movies.
Like, to be fair, Clint has been in The Kick,
the All Blacks movie about the 2011 Rugby World Cup.
And also that other one, Megan.
Megan.
For literally two or three seconds.
Dan is known for his breakfast host Meltdown.
and his diva moments.
His most famous workplace clip involved
where he demanded $100 from the boss shouting,
I'm a fucking breakfast host
after he was denied cash for a skateboard.
Oh, Mike, shut up, that is in there.
What a skateboard once.
What a niche thing to bring up.
He wanted the boss to pay for the skateboard,
and the boss said no, and he goes,
right, well, then I'm not bringing any skateboarding content to a show.
Hey, and where's that boss now?
Where's that boss now?
Not in the company anymore, because he left and got a better job.
Jessica, which of the three of us relates to the dumbest people?
Get a drum roll ready, mate.
It's going to be me.
It's going to be me.
Okay.
Clint coming in at number three.
King of the dumb dad.
But coming in at number one,
Meg tends to relate to the most dumb...
Everyday fails.
For example, recently had a segment where she revealed
that she fractured her tailbone at a kid's indoor playground,
which opened the floodgates for listeners to call and relate with their own dumb and ridiculous.
stories.
So I'm the dumbest.
You're going to be so careful what...
You start peddling on the air as a phoneer.
I was going to say who's the best looking?
Oh, wait.
Out here in the producer booths, we don't need AI for that.
We can tell you.
Clint Randall is widely considered
the best looking at the three.
Me, second, me, Finn.
Who said?
Me.
Oh, that's good.
Yeah.
So, yeah, so Clint is considered
traditional prime time television look
he looks really good. Dan's look
is much more modern and hipster
influenced. That's got that way wrong.
What's a real niche thing we could ask?
Yeah.
Meg, no listen to this.
Meg is completely leans into the classic
rugged Kiwi bloke aesthetic.
It's got you wrong.
Rugged Kiwi bloat.
It's got you wrong.
It's got me wrong.
Okay, yeah, for me it says you've got a
relaxed hipster indie look, Dad.
I definitely not.
who's most likely to find $10,000 and not handed in.
Oh, okay, okay.
Oh, terrible.
To find $10,000.
I also just asked it who has the shitters car.
Hang on, it's coming back.
If it knows that, it knows too much.
I think we know.
Dan Webby is the most likely candidate to keep the money.
I'll give you a run for your money.
I think if I found too great.
Of course.
If I find 10 to find his keepers.
Dan Webby would likely suffer an immediate spiral of social anxiety.
He would overthink the situation, convince himself that the place.
police would suspect him of stealing it
and ultimately panic hide it in his house.
Meg would immediately start calculating the risk
before turning it in and Clint,
who has a very clean cut good guy image
to uphold as the television host
would get, the reputation of getting caught
would outweak you know what? Okay, this is the caveat.
I would hand in the cash if it was in a wallet and it had ID
and so I know whose it is, so I therefore know who I'm taking
the money from.
If it was just a bunch of hundreds
It was wrapped up in a rubber band
And I found it in a bush mine
If I texted, I messaged it
Who would smell worse?
If all three were forced to skip a shower
After a long day Meg would smell the worst
They're so fucking messed up
Followed by Dan Webby
He's won it again
The fuck does that happen
Why the fuck? Tell me why
Tell me why.
Okay so it goes
Tell me
Dan Weber is a fashionable dad who wears a lot of streetwear and sneakers.
What does that do with my smell?
Tell me why I would smell the worst after not showered.
Okay, it says...
Well, you do say, you have seen before that you have two a day.
Why do you need two a day?
I think you're someone else.
Mead completely embraces the classic...
Gone with a Kiwi rugged bloke again.
Her hobbies include fishing, tinkering on motorbikes.
What the fuck?
That's me.
That's me.
That's me.
Not me.
Don't trust the internet.
Where is it?
Her hobbies include fishing,
including broken outdoor bikes going on broken outdoor missions and doing home.
Okay,
asking this,
out of the three of us,
who would be the best of fixing a broken motorbike?
On top of that,
she sports a,
on top of that,
she proudly sports a thick,
heavy beard.
Between the smell of fish bait,
engine oil and sweat,
she never disappoints.
That's me.
Okay, Dan,
now ask you to who can fix a motorbike the bed.
You say I'm going to win this one.
Thank you.
Oh, you should, me.
I should.
You could just see if AI hates you.
Okay, good.
Who could fix a broken motorbike?
Most.
No, to...
Best.
Okay.
Good luck.
Okay, drum roll, everybody, God.
Meek Mansel would easily be good at fixing a motorbike.
She's won something.
Dan Wehby would be second.
He's brilliant with digital media, audio gear and video editing.
Clint Randall.
Clint is a metrosexual king.
A metro-sexual king.
Who takes extreme pride in his pristine grooming.
Fair, I wouldn't know.
I don't even know which one's the front probably.
The handlebars are probably the giveaway.
If you were stranded on the side of the road with a broken engine,
Meg is 100% the guy you want in your corner.
It does think you're a man.
It thinks you're a man.
It thinks you're a man.
I've got a bigger dick to both of you.
Who has the bigger dick?
I'm going to ask.
Who has the bigger dick?
I love that yesterday's whole.
podcast was about how much you hate
AI. Like you're all benefitously
hate it and now you're doing this.
There was no public information
on record although if I had to get
Meg would have that.
Absolutely.
The biggest stick out of the show, thank you very much.
Branded on me. Meg wins the AI Awards.
Just right at the dent she snuck in with a couple
of victories. That is completely wrong because it's me
put me second, Clint third.
She doesn't know us well.
All right. What else do we have to tackle on this
podcast?
Yeah, right. Man, that is hilarious.
I have, I think there was some mail which we received via the Overthinkers feedback, which I...
You got mail.
So we were talking about...
Tyler came through on The Overthinkers yesterday saying,
Watch the Overthinkers and what numbers you were like retractiveness.
So it's sort of going on from what we said.
So this is my comment about Meg.
Meg put herself at a 5.7.
You were a 10 out of 10.
possible way.
If you're not married to Guy,
yes, I've got that, so he's going to follow-up.
He's obviously listened to yesterday's podcast.
And we wondered if it was chatting
to say, if I wasn't married
and if you weren't married, I'd give
you a go, or however he worded that.
Yeah, yeah.
Which is, it's kind of putting it out there going,
are you keen to leave yours if I leave mine?
Yeah. Now, Tyler's come back, and we did
talk a little bit about Tyler, and thank you very much.
You can also message us on the Overthinkers
feedback line. You just text Overthinkers
to 33-4-3.
He said,
FYI, Dan.
For your information.
For your information, Dan.
Nice.
That's Mick's just doing that for her dummy listeners.
You don't know where FYI stands for.
I didn't mean to leave you in Clint out,
but he says,
I would totally go gay for you, Dan,
my man, 10 out of 10.
Now, isn't that lovely?
Oh, well, now it takes away from my shit.
If he thinks you're a 10, then.
Jesus, Judy.
His taste is.
His taste is.
out the whack, in it.
Meg's like, well, now I'm Dan's intent
and I'm a ten, I may as well be a three.
Yeah.
It's like more of a fetish if you think I'm hot.
Cowell's in the background.
Yeah, don't laugh, Carl.
What's your name?
Also, Meg this morning,
speaking of people getting others names wrong,
Meg worked with a guy.
She's known for many years, but she worked with him for a whole year.
She walked out and he goes,
Hey, Melanie.
Yeah, it called me Melanie.
I worked for a whole year.
Yeah.
Yeah. I did that to someone at my son's crash the other day.
He's been there for like over a year and she came to the thing and she was like,
hi, Dan. I said, hi, Sarah. Her name's Judy.
And I completely referred to her.
Why were you so confident?
Well, because there's another lady there called Sarah, but it wasn't her.
It's the worst getting someone's name wrong.
You know, my wife is terrible. Wait, we'll go around a room and they'll be like,
hey, this is Brooke. Hey, Brooke. Hey, Brooke. Hey, Brooke. And this is Sam. Hey, Sam.
Okay, cool. I've got them all. Brooke, Jared, Harry, Sam.
Honestly, I'm the worst.
And I'll go, and I might miss one, because maybe I got introduced to seven people.
And I'll go, babe, what was the first one's name?
She's like, no idea.
I was like, can you name any of them?
She was like, no.
I was like, so what is your brain doing when people are saying their name and introducing themselves to them?
I don't know.
I feel very good at remembering people's names.
That's something I feel like I drive in.
What are you doing?
My thing is, I'm constantly in that situation where I'll see someone and I'll go, like maybe it's at the supermarket or something, and I know them.
And they come and go, hi, Dan.
And I go, oh, Jesus, I don't know your name.
Then why did you one time you were so confident that you did know everyone's name
where you made them line up in studio?
That was a big mistake.
That was a big mistake.
And I'll never do that again.
And then we had a news guy Ben stand there and Dan genuinely annoyed every was.
I had a blank though that.
I do know his name.
In fairness, I just had a full mind blank.
He had been used guy Ben for like two years.
I know.
And I called him like Josh or something, didn't I?
It's Tim or something.
We'll be back on air in 30 seconds to give away Bruno Mars tickets.
That's why I pay to listen to our radio show live.
So that's where we're.
We're going to have to leave it, unfortunately.
Bye, guys.
Love you.
See you.
Love you.
