Starting point is 00:00:00 This is a podcast from Rover. This is the Overthinkers podcast. Kiyoda, Clint Meag and Dan, all back. Yeah, back at the squad. The squad is back together. Told you. Squad. Do people still use that thing, like squads?
Starting point is 00:00:16 Like hashtag. You look like, you've got hash rash. I know, because I've rubbed off. I've just had lipstick on my mouth because I did it hit the spot today, and I was wearing lipstick for it. And I went and rubbed it off, and I found out that Meg's given me like that stuff like Revlon, Stizong. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:00:30 Like that stuff that doesn't rub off even when you're, you know, bungee jumping and shit. Maybe he's the one that goes, maybe he's born with it. Yeah. Maybe it's maybe. Trust me, I was not born with it. Yeah, a little patch rashy. Yeah. Hey, Meg, our phones are 100% listening to us because guess what I got served when I opened my phone just while we're having a little bit of morning tea?
Starting point is 00:00:52 Hold on. I'll bring it up and then we can maybe discuss it. Eric, what are you doing? Oh, bro, this house is probably so well. that I thought maybe a Gen Z buyer might be able to afford it. So I just wanted to make sure I was like appealing to that buyer pool, you know? So what about the music? You think we should do a remix?
Starting point is 00:01:10 There's a real estate agent outside of cheaper house. And look, now he busts into dance. Damn, yeah. Real estate agents are having to do so much more these days to go viral for their houses. I saw a real estate agent just the other day doing a similar video, but she internally combust it at the end using like AI. He's doing these cringy, Gen Z moves. I don't know that it was quite clever
Starting point is 00:01:31 because he's like, it's so cheap even a Gen Z you could afford to buy this one. And Meg, we were just talking about you trying to do something wacky with your house. Well, yeah, we're thinking, not really minding my husband's idea, but we're like having a chat with our real estate agent and a videographer about if it had some sort of GTA
Starting point is 00:01:48 6 theme because it's going up on the market when it was going to be sold on the same day auction-wise as GTA 6, but it's not anymore and it's just trying to make something that stands out, but I'm a bit worried that it's going to be cringe. And I hate cringe. You guys know I hate cringe.
Starting point is 00:02:04 And I'm worried that it's going to alienate people a little bit where they're like, I don't get it so I don't want to look at that house. And it's just going to be a gag. Making a mockery of your most expensive asset. Yes. Which we've worked really hard to try and do up and make to the best of quality. And I don't know if videos like that just go viral for the agent or if they go viral where people want to buy the house.
Starting point is 00:02:27 You know, does that actually make you want to buy the house? or do you just like the video and send it to your mates and then move on? Well, actually, to be fair, I watched the whole video and most time I'm, but I don't give a shit about this house, not my area, I watched the whole video. And I was like, the backyard on was pretty epic. And I was like, maybe it's proof that I was going,
Starting point is 00:02:42 yeah, it's a bit quirky and the real estate agent isn't my guy. But I'm now watching the entire video of your house, which is the point, I suppose. That's a subliminal point, isn't it? Like you're watching for this cringe, and you're going, oh, God, this is cringe. But then you're getting served a great house. For instance, may I go exhibit at B?
Starting point is 00:03:02 J.J. Feeney is in the news today on one roof. You replaced J.J. Feeney on the show. J.J. Feeney sells $1.2 million apartment fast. And so it's a story about how she's just sold in the last few days, her apartment in inner Auckland, her inner sanctified. For doing a GTA6 thing. No, nothing to do with GTS. Actually, one roof I think we're going to do it. such a good boss. She's used her fame. So I feel like you need to use your fame.
Starting point is 00:03:30 That's what we're trying to... I don't think I'm going to be in the video. That was going to be one of the things, Dan. They were going to put me in the video. And I was like, the thing is, I think I am alienating. There might be somebody that really likes my house and goes, I don't want fucking Megan Manswell's house. I hate that bitch.
Starting point is 00:03:45 You know, like, and so I can't... I'm not, I'm not loved by everybody. I'm not Santa. I'm not... You know what I mean? I'm not... Good example for someone that's loved by all. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:03:54 I'm not... There's definitely people that... can't stand me and I don't want anything getting in the way of selling my house. I was also reading the comments on that story of JJ and they're all they rough. They're mean, aren't they? They're so mean to JJ.
Starting point is 00:04:07 I cannot believe how many people are to JJ Feeney. Yeah, they're just like, who are you? Why is this news? She didn't go to them and ask them to publish it. They're using her. Yeah. I think it's an ad. It's been getting really emotional with my house recently.
Starting point is 00:04:22 I mean, we're on the market next week. And I'm getting, it's keeping me up at night thinking about having to leave her. I'm so attached to this home. It's so sad. It feels like it's, thank you for playing the fine Nemo music. That's going to help.
Starting point is 00:04:38 It feels like there's not one part of this house that my husband and I haven't touched. That sounds probably gross, but like we've changed the world. I reckon I could find, if you were like, I'll give you $10,000. We can find a part of the house that Meg hasn't touched. But if you touch a part of the house and she has touched it,
Starting point is 00:04:53 you lose two years of your life. Well, sure, I've touched an out part. Yeah, I mean, but we've changed the roof, is what I mean, like, not me physically touching it. Oh, okay, I thought there was a weird touching game. We've changed, I mean, the gutters, we've changed them, we've changed the windows, we've changed the carpet, we've done the corners, we've done all the paint. You've done the lights. We've got new kitchen vinyl. We've done new shower, new, new, like, everything has been curated by us.
Starting point is 00:05:19 We bought it when we weren't married. I got engaged in that house, got my dog in that house, had two kids in that house. When you look around and it's just all. and you've got the key and you do the final close of the door. Like the friends moment. Yes! It makes me sad.
Starting point is 00:05:32 Yes. You know what you need? You know what you need? Because you've just given me an idea. You need a rich stalker that's gone, fuck I could buy a house. True. You know, you need two rich stalkers
Starting point is 00:05:43 because then they can fight each other at auction. Oh, true. And so they're both bidding, like two rich stalkers. I love that. Could I also maybe to help with that emotional moment when you close the door and as you back away slowly out of the house and realize that.
Starting point is 00:05:56 I'm bawling my eyes out. Yeah, you're not going to create any more memories out. It will be emotional. Can I help by maybe like I could be in the lounge and as you back away slowly, I just go, and then you would be like, oh, yuck, disgusting. And you would be like, I'm getting the hell out of here ASAP. The poor new owner, they're going to come in and just be like cropped duster by Clinton. It's not on the chattles.
Starting point is 00:06:17 It's not like Clint's farts on the chattels. I'm not doing the shattles in there. But it's just a moment that would lighten the mood and you're like, oh, get me the hell out of here. You know what I mean? What a good friend, Mick. Come on. Do that for you. What a lovely guy. Hey? I'd come around and I'd just, let me know when. And when it got too much for you?
Starting point is 00:06:36 Imagine the teacher, like, Clint, you need to come over now. Yeah, but then he'd be like, I'm nervous. I'm going to push myself. Like how he happens if he had a different friend. Then he pissed himself all over your new cup. Clint, what is this day? You're the good news of the bad news. Oh, wow. No, just that moment where is you're like, and it shut the door and go, now, now, now.
Starting point is 00:06:52 It's going to be a mess. I'm going to be a mess. I don't think you'll be crying because you're moving into a much bigger, nicer house. No, Dad, that's where you've gone wrong. Because I'm going to a nicer area. I'm getting a shit-house. Oh, so you're getting the shittest house on the nicest street.
Starting point is 00:07:06 Hopefully. Well, I don't know. But the problem is, I think I'd be excited if I found a house that I liked. I haven't found any house that I liked, so I'm not excited. I don't even know if I want to sell the house, because if it sells quickly, that will freak me out. But if it takes too long to sell, that will freak me out. All of it. I hate all of it.
Starting point is 00:07:21 I'm a person that is, I don't like change, and it's the biggest change. Plus, my daughter is doing five in a few. days. It's all too much for me. Well, you're more than welcome to come and stay. Really? With my mum. Okay. What? Oh. She doesn't have a room in our house. She lives in Wipfew. Why can I sit at your house? With my two kids, my dog. How many bedrooms are you got? I've got four bedrooms. How many people live in your house? One of my bedrooms is where Hannah gets changed and like, well, must be nice. She's got a getting changed bedroom and sucks for you, so she won't get changed in front of you. No, no. She's just where she keeps all
Starting point is 00:07:51 her clothes because she's got so many. I've just got one wardrobe. I know that life. Can you Take out your renters and can you be my landlord? Imagine! Oh, now that's tempting. I'll be like, Meg, I'm coming over for an inspection. It's like, she's like, it's the third one this week. Body inspection. What?
Starting point is 00:08:09 Oh, I thought that's what you were meaning. No. What the fuck? Clint, are you okay? Well, if you're going over three times, that's some, that landlord is banging the tenant. I feel like as a landlord that's frowned upon. Oh, you definitely. I've got to inspect your body.
Starting point is 00:08:23 Don't care about the house. See? You straight to the tribunal. You pass with flying colours. You're like, you haven't even stepped inside yet. You're keeping the front steps very tidy. Anyway, let me see the back. Oh, the yard looks great.
Starting point is 00:08:37 We are honestly. No, well, you mean, it's a hypothetical dodgy landlord scenario, but it's not serious. Anyway, look all the best for the sale. Thank you so much. I appreciate that. You know what we could do? This is to be really good friend stuff during the auction days. I've gone to auction. Could you do that?
Starting point is 00:08:52 We can come over and do a couple of business. A couple of fake bits. A couple of fakeies. Put on a moustache case you get recognised. That'd be great. That'd be great. And I could just go around and I could go, wow, I just did a walk around the house, babe.
Starting point is 00:09:05 And as a builder who knows what I'm saying. Yes, good, good, good. Knows what I'm saying. Actually have your moustache on for this. Yeah, yeah, I'll go, wow, they've replaced all the gutters, the foundations. I've never seen them this good for a house as old. I'll say all that stuff. I'd love you guys to come to an open home and pretend to be biased.
Starting point is 00:09:19 I'll go, I haven't seen one iota of mold and mild and mildew in this house. And there is an, And actually we got a builder's report. And supposedly there's none. No, no, it is. It's dry as a bone. Dry as a bone. Yeah, build a report.
Starting point is 00:09:33 If you want to buy my house, let me know. I'd really like it to go to somebody I know so I can come visit. That actually is such a good idea. I'd bring 100K down for that. Yeah. You imagine that. Anyone that allows me to visit at least once every quarter,
Starting point is 00:09:50 like once every three months, I know that's. I'll knock it. 15 grand off the price. I would actually never want to because it would feel so weird that it's turned into somebody's house. But I just want to, I would love to know it's gone to a lovely person. Yeah, I remember when mom and dad sold the house that we grew up in. I was 15 when we left.
Starting point is 00:10:06 And I was like, almost 30 when I saw it was up for open home. And I went back and I'm like, I'm going to buy back the home that I grew up in. And it was a dive. It was a dive. They had done nothing to it. In fact, they just made it like. I've never wanted to be a billionaire more. So I come along and buy it and I'll just bowl it and put like a cold refinery.
Starting point is 00:10:22 or something in there. Something that Meg's like fully against. Like a meat work? What's wrong with you? Imagine that? A meat with like a freezing works or something. Or just a massive gold statue of yourself. Oh, we could do the Meg Manson. Meg lived here and do a statue.
Starting point is 00:10:38 Like a beautiful brass statue. That would be gorgeous. Thank God you're not a billionaire. This is my damn won't win lotto. Because I think the world and the universe couldn't stand it. That's too evil. The first thing you want to do is buy my house, not so I can keep it.
Starting point is 00:10:52 And like True, that would be nice That's going to think about that Actually as that would be an option If you owned it So Don't worry Meg I'll buy your new house
Starting point is 00:11:00 And this one I'm going to put a meat Refinery in this one Gorgeous You get sausages Gorgeous Gorgeous It's a real long play
Starting point is 00:11:09 I mean At the reveal When you show Meg Her new house And it's like An all you can eat Meat buffet You're welcome back
Starting point is 00:11:16 Any time I would probably Love it though Wouldn't he? That's so mean Meg He's so mean Isn't he
Starting point is 00:11:21 Horrible I would let you choose five houses that you like and then we'd spin a wheel which everyone lands on it you get but of course there's one shitter in there because it needs some jeered. I'm not going to live at the meat refinery. Yeah, the meat refinery is one of them.
Starting point is 00:11:35 Boys, either that or the street. What do we do it? Overthinkers. Rover. Music, radio, podcasts.
