This is a podcast from Rover.
Take the edge off for your mornings with Clint Meg and Dan.
Catch breakfast.
Good morning.
It is.
Bang on 6 o'clock.
Tuesday, we made it.
Morning.
Yeah, you know what?
You made it past Monday?
That's the main thing.
Yep.
Positive energy.
We're hoping Meg makes it this morning too.
She is here.
Where is Meg?
I don't know.
She's gone to machine cook.
Sometimes she goes and makes her porridge.
She started making porridge, Clint.
And I look across at it.
And I think, my goodness me, that's,
looks delicious. Do you not have Bricky in the morning?
No, I do, but I have it at home.
Oh, and then you're hungry again? I have my NutraGrain.
I think I've had. I'm on like a nine-year streak of Nutra-Grain every morning.
All right.
A imposter is back at 7 o'clock. Lucy says this happened to her.
So I was about 12 years old. It's Christmas morning, and there's a police helicopter landing in the backyard
and the SWAT team coming through the house.
All right, Indy said that happened to her yesterday, but Lucy says, no, she's an imposter
because it actually happened to me.
You can decide at 7 o'clock after easy money
We hopefully we give you a thousand bucks
We're back
It's just got her porridge
We're all good to go guys
It's got brown sugar
Oh god it looks delicious
Yeah you should get on it
Blackberries
No blueberries
No blueberries
Yogurt
Is there porridge in there?
Yeah yeah
God everything
Dan's hungry even though he's had breakfast
I reckon that'd serve me for lunch and breakfast
What do you mean?
Why?
You don't eat after that do you?
I have lunch still
that's just breakfast.
Delicious.
Clint McGinn-Tan, Edge Breakfast.
What do you think you've ever been in a relationship
where it's exactly 50-50?
No, I've never experienced that.
Surely the one doing the breaking up
is never going to hurt as much as the one
who's been broken up with.
Even though it might hurt to break up with them,
still not as much.
They're making the decision.
And our car relationships,
who would you say is the most likely
to break up with the other person?
For me, it's Hannah.
Like Hannah would break up with me
more than I would break up with her.
Okay.
And Meg says,
I'd be likely to break up with Jay before she breaks up.
me. What about Meg and Guy?
I thought he meant as us three.
No, I like in our separate relationships.
Me with Guy probably.
Yeah, I would have said you.
Yeah.
Which would never happen, but I imagine being the gravy train.
You didn't have no money.
He needs you.
I need some advice, that's what I need, because I've worked it up this morning,
completely deaf in my left ear.
I hate that feeling.
I don't know what's going on.
It's never happened to me before.
Does anyone know, is this ever have?
happened to it anywhere.
What happened?
I've had a block there before.
Have you popped it?
Yeah, no, but it's not that type of, like it feels like there's something in there.
Like there's something crawled inside there overnight.
Oh, I've got a little camera thing, not with me, but the poking side of your ear.
They reckon you pour petrol into your air canal and spiders or bugs won't like that.
They'll come straight out of there.
Okay, don't do that.
Carl, go get some pit 91.
Actually, I want 98 in my ear.
And we'll see how that go.
Just the high octane stuff, eh, for your ears?
Vinegar?
Would that be safer?
No, I wouldn't do any food.
Maybe oil if you've got a dry air, like normal oil, olive oil.
What if it drowns the spider inside the air and then it dies in his ear can out?
Then it will come out.
Then it will just fall out, hopefully.
Maybe someone has some home remedies.
You can text them through 3343.
Or do I just go to the doctor?
Probably that's probably the best thing.
Give it a good pop now. Go on.
No, I've tried me.
Nothing.
Nothing.
That's a weird way to pinch.
That was a really weird way to do.
Weird way to pinch your nose.
you know.
Because that hurts.
It hurts my nose if I pinch it.
He like, rather than using his thumb and finger,
he bent his fingers, made a fist,
and then pushed the knuckles against his nostrils,
so he cut up breath.
I've never seen anybody block their nose that way in my life.
If we're all the same, it would be a very boring world, wouldn't it?
Well, you're very different.
I am very different.
It's very entertaining.
Yeah, it's not like the type of feeling of when you're in a plane,
you know, when your ears, it's different.
It's so disarming in the way that, like, when you have one block to you,
everything feels off.
It's equilibrium.
Okay, well, that's a problem considering what we're about to do next,
because do you have the power with only one ear?
If you've got a car, give it a rev.
It's time for the rev room.
Someone said put turps in your ear.
Someone else said peroxide.
I don't know if I'm going to trust those two, thanks for your one, Craig.
So if you rev your car, Dan can work out what type of car you're driving based off the sound,
but he's only rocking one ear today, so he's a little disadvantaged.
Yeah, it's my good ear too.
So I don't know.
Yeah, so if you've got a car.
car, maybe you're driving to work, pull over to the side of the road, give us a call.
Revit, I hopefully will be able to tell you what sort of car it is.
It's my talent.
Okay.
I'm four from four.
Yeah, that's true.
So you're doing make, not make and model.
I think let's just keep it at make.
I'll try and go for the double points and give you a model as well, but I'm not as good as model.
Okay, wow.
Don't have to yell.
Okay, sorry.
He's got a block to hand.
He's so loud.
I'm half dead.
Ah, me.
Enough.
What did you say?
14 bar six, Reverend next.
want to play 0,800 the edge.
Hey?
Clint McGee and Dan, it's breakfast.
The Edge.
If you've got a car, give it a rev.
It's time for the rev room.
All righty, let's see if Dan can pick the make of your vehicle based on Reveloon.
Yeah, I found out I had this talent just a few weeks ago when I was like, that sounds like
an listen skyline to my wife.
And then it drove past.
It's uncanny.
And what does she do?
She like, oh my God.
She couldn't be less.
Oh, damn.
She couldn't be less impressed.
Is it like this?
So you do it.
I'm going to guess how Hannah reacted.
Yeah, she was like, there it is.
Look, it is a skyline.
Right.
Oh, she was a bit more excited than that.
Oh, well, you said couldn't be less impressed.
What was I meant to do?
That couldn't be less in bed.
That's good.
She's now that.
Wow.
Okay.
So Georgia's playing this morning.
Hi, Georgia.
Hi, how are you guys?
Yeah, good, Georgia.
Now are you ready to be impressed?
Sure.
Okay.
Your partner says cookie is with you as well.
Why is your partner's nickname cookie?
It's not her nickname, it's her legal name.
Really?
Oh, that's a bit mean.
Yeah.
That's fun.
I just never in my life met a cookie.
Yeah.
Now you have.
Yeah, we have.
Love it.
Okay, so you guys are going to rev the car.
I get a couple of questions, obviously not to give it away,
but you're both driving to work, I'm assuming, right now?
Yeah, I'm dropping Cookie off at work at the moment.
Okay, Cookie and Georgia, give the car a rev.
Ooh, okay.
Sounds the same as the last one to me, Clint.
Yeah, very small.
Okay, let me guess.
So there is, if I said that it was a small car,
i.e. hatchback.
Would I be on the right track?
It's not a hat.
It's a small car.
Okay.
Okay.
Line ball.
I'm leaning Japanese.
I could not tell you the answer to that question.
I knew George was going to be out, man.
Okay.
Well, this is not helpful.
She's like, I know what it is.
That's it.
No more help.
Yeah, pretty much.
Okay.
Look, I'm going to, look.
going to have to say, someone's saying on the text machine it's a Volkswagen GTI.
I don't think it's German.
I don't think it's a European car.
I think it's Japanese again.
I'm leaning towards either a Toyota, a Honda, or a Mitsubishi.
Is it one of those three, Georgia?
Is it one of those three?
Okay, okay.
So we are Japanese.
And see that a Toyota, a Honda or a Mitsubishi, Dan.
Can we have one more rev and give it all the beans you got?
Sure thing.
Okay, so that doesn't...
Not a lot of beans, but that's all right.
It's not your fault.
It's a small car.
Okay, I'm going to eliminate Honda.
Am I still on the right track?
You are, yes.
It's a Toyota or a Mitsubichi.
Okay, I'm going down to 50-50.
Okay, so it's either, as Meg would say, a Mitsubichi.
Mitsubichi.
Or a Toyota.
Okay.
I'm going to say Toyota.
Locking in Toyota for a
win. It's the block dear. It's the block dear. It's the block dear. I've got a block dear this morning, Georgia.
We knew it. We knew we should have done this, Clint. How do you not know a Mitsubishi isn't Japanese?
What do you think? Mitsubishi is? I don't know.
Just two girls, man. Well, it doesn't sound Australian, doesn't it?
My dad wasn't a rounder when I was growing up.
Oh, this is lovely.
Oh, Clinton is just a insults left right in the centre.
I actually think cookies are a lovely name.
For the record.
Thank you, thanks, Dad.
Yeah, love you both.
Oh, well, you know what?
I'm happy that I got it down to at least 50-50.
I'm a bit disappointed.
We're getting least than least with the Reverend.
It used to make and model.
Now it's 50-50.
Okay, can I say it as it a Mitsubishi Lancer?
If you did that, would have been really impressive.
That's the second time.
I've had one of those on the revert.
Okay, well, there we go.
Thanks, Georgia.
Thanks, guys.
That was disappointing.
Yeah, you're right.
It'd be like the worries being like,
I mean, it's good if we do lose, but we lose within six.
Yes.
No, it's still a loss, isn't it?
And Marilyn, you're way off.
You said Volkswagen GTI.
Oh, don't bring Maryland down.
Don't do shade in our listeners when you lost.
Take the edge off your day with Clint Meg and Dan.
Hedge.
Clint Megan Dan's scandal.
Hayden Panetti has passed away due to an expected,
sorry, that's the wrong word.
Suspected overdose.
She released her menorrh.
This is Me, a Reckoning in May,
which she spoke about giving.
custody of her daughter to her ex-husband and struggles with addiction postpartum.
And Olivia Grande and...
Olivia Grande.
Oh my God, I'm having a moment.
Has that his sister?
Alan's Olivia Grande.
I don't know.
Olivia Dean, Ariana Grande had a baby.
And they've gone with...
Ariana Grande and Cynthia Eribo have squashed the rumors that they are no longer friends by
singing to get the last night.
Arianna's Linda shows.
We were just suspecting that they were getting along yesterday.
Where was that?
Last night.
Yeah.
Where were they doing that?
said in her London show.
Ariane's. And Cynthia just like jumped up
on stage as a guest. I believe Cynthia's
performing on Broadway at the moment. She's in a show
so they must be in the same town so they can be
texted and she's like, come on. So
amazing. I mean you would be gutted if you went to
Ariana's first show and she didn't have Cynthia and then she
had her the second show. Not Broadway. I mean the West End
by the way, not Broadway. Oh, don't worry, mate. No one was going to
correct you. Well, this whole breaks
into society. Yeah, yeah. I want to hear more about
Olivia.
Olivia Grande.
Just hits.
Orklin.
Edge, Clint, Megan Dan.
Just going half six.
It's still early.
It is still early, man.
It's still early.
Leave us alone.
Yeah.
Okay, I got a quick, random question to ask you.
Small, medium or large, where would you put the goose?
In terms of a small, medium or large bird
because it was quite the argument on our podcast yesterday.
I would...
Edge Breakfast, Clint McGon Dan.
This is the Overthinkers podcast.
Our Weverthinkers podcast, which we record after our radio show.
So if you want more of your Clint Megan Dan Thicks, you can text podcast at 3343.
We'll send you the link.
We get up at about around 11 each morning, I suppose.
Yeah, within reason.
Yeah, around 11, no.
Well, yeah, I guess between that and 12.
Yeah.
And so we were discussing, we discussed a lot of random things.
But anyway, it's probably too much of a backstory to get into the Y.
But Dan made a claim about the size of a good.
in relation to other birds in the world.
And I've said, like a couple of people who've already said on the text machine,
I would class a goose as a large bird.
Well, Latia just said goose is large 100%.
If you have one chasing you and you're scared, that puts it in the large category.
I'd agree with you, Latia.
Okay, well, that's not the debate that went down yesterday.
Okay, well, if I saw geese, it's not like it's a small, like little bird.
It's a huge bird.
One of the biggest birds in existence.
No, it doesn't.
Okay, I'm going to do top ten biggest birds in the world.
top 10 biggest birds.
Yeah, okay, well, don't cut emus.
I mean, no, why?
Right, okay, well, here we go.
No goose.
The bustard, up to 18KG.
Pelicans, albatrosses, penguins, storks, flamingos, cranes, vultures and condors.
Like, there's no geese.
All I'm saying is the big bird.
Ish.
More of a medium.
Like a medium bird.
Okay, fine.
Do you want me to Google the 15 different medium birds?
No, I'm over this.
Yeah.
All I'm saying is.
Yeah, does it be check?
Because I'm mighty from medium.
I don't care.
I don't care.
Look it out for a goose.
Okay, top 15.
Medium.
Goose number two.
So I was right.
No, he said it was a big bird.
Thank you very much.
I think we can all agree.
A goose is quite a large bird.
No, it's actually officially a medium.
Okay.
So that's what we call it the Overtinkers podcast.
Because we well overthink a lot of stuff.
Yeah, goose is a medium.
But it's a large medium.
Did you ever watch Sesame Street as a kid?
Yeah, I don't know what you're going to do here.
A big bird gag.
I don't think he is a goose, though.
No, he's got a goose, exactly.
He was pretty big, wasn't he?
He was got big bird, and he was much larger than a goose.
I'd say he's bigger than an ostrich.
Yeah, because he's a big bird.
He's an anthropomorphic canary.
Okay.
Oh, so they can bring him to the canary, which is very small.
But he's actually eight for two inches.
Yeah, very tall, isn't he?
That is a very big bird.
Yeah, maybe he's in the biggest bird category.
Right, biggest bird, yeah, maybe that's more at.
You might be one of those friend groups where, like, you don't let anything go.
Like, someone says something, you go, I don't think that's true.
True. Let's spend five minutes arguing about it.
I feel of this friend group we maybe should let a few things go.
It's hard when we have a podcast called Overtinkers.
Yeah.
Because Dan has said to me on occasion during that podcast, you're overthinking it.
I'm like, good.
Sorry.
I forgot where I am right now.
Do you know the most ironic thing about that game yesterday was it was someone
had actually tasked you guys with a hypothetical situation involving a goose.
You never even made it to the rest of the game, did you?
You literally just started arguing about a goose for the next half hour of the podcast.
And that was it.
railroaded it, didn't it?
Yeah.
So you can't text podcast at 33443 if you don't subscribe or download the Overtinkers podcast,
and you want more of your Clint Megan Dan fix after 10 o'clock.
And it's full of factual information.
Like, what is the biggest bird?
We've got it, it wasn't a goose.
Get your Clint Meg and Dan Fax.
The edge.
It's time to get naughty at 640.
But of course, we will make the time.
Oh, poor Philippa.
Honestly, I called her yesterday on the podcast, I think,
because we were talking about a man that got an octopus stuck to his face.
Yeah, your mum had.
had so many things happen to her over the years.
She's had a horse bite her boob.
She's fallen down a small bank and then just the cat of her shoulder.
And everyone thought she was just drunk and had gone to bed and nobody looked for her.
And then we found her like crawling up the bank hours later.
I didn't know about the boob, why?
Oh yeah, she was trying to show all these kids how friendly horses are.
Very friendly by the sounds.
And she had to hide the pain.
I remember the moment it happened.
I've talked to her since as an adult.
She said it was one of the worst pains.
She experienced she did tend to turn her face away
and blink her eyes really fast
to try and show like, oh, he's giving me kisses.
No, I'd be like, you can't stand back.
This horse is the devil.
She had like a black boob for a week.
Wow.
Why does she chopperse run a horse?
She's blading to diver.
Well, the only mistake really that Meg's mum made
was answering a cold call from us yesterday.
You might have seen this video over the weekend of a fisherman.
I think he was over in Southeast Asia
that got a octopus stuck on us.
You see that?
Oh yeah, I did.
I didn't watch it
because I honestly
would freak me out so much.
Yeah, so the Filipino man,
he caught the mollusk.
So he was obviously putting it up to his face
maybe to sniff it.
I don't know what he was doing,
but it's then attached to his face.
Oh, come on.
You don't sniff an octopus.
Everyone knows that.
Suckioned on,
because you know they have those suction cups.
All mollusks have them.
And it was stuck to his face
and he's trying to take it off.
My mum got an octopus stuck to her once.
We could ask her.
What isn't your moaned up?
That's true.
Some of the things she's done.
Like, I remember that one time we were talking about people falling down hills,
and you're like, my mum fell down in the bank.
Yeah, she did.
Yeah.
She's just the cut of her shoulder.
Yeah.
She's looking for something.
Oh, sure not.
Philip's speaking.
Morning, Phil.
It's awesome.
No, you go and she'll and fill a bit of Phil.
I'm sorry.
Now, now you are on ear, so just me.
My nursing friends used to call me Phil.
Yeah, no, exactly.
You are on ear, and I just told the boys that you once got an octopus stuck to you.
That's true, right?
Yep, absolutely.
That's when I was nursing in Marston, too, and we went down to White Rock.
and we'd gone with a group of guys
and yeah
they were looking for Kina
or I think on the rocks
and this octafas stuck to me
and I started crying out
and they just laughed
and then they had a look and saw it
and then all these big guys jumped away
and this
big this old old Mary fella
came over and poured it off me
but it was a weirdest sensation
because it started sucking on to me
it was oh god
is that the last time you had eight legs
wrapped around
Ginger, Philippa?
Bye, ma'am.
I think it was the first time, but it was last time.
Hey, regret calling you now?
Yeah, I did.
And then, nine months later, Meg or I?
Get you Clint McGreg and Dan Fax.
Our producer Brady, he's new.
What is he?
How many months in Dau showed me?
Four.
Four months. So you would think he would be going out of his way
to do anything he could to impress Meg
in the show.
show.
Yeah, absolutely.
Absolutely.
He's still definitely
in that kind of
stage where he's...
Trial period.
Yeah.
I think you call it
going above and beyond
for the role, don't you?
Yeah.
And so
exciting for us
when we were talking
about bringing back a game
when we were talking
about embarrassing gym songs
and I'm always paranoid
when I'm listening to
something really embarrassing
that someone's going to ask
me what I'm listening to
because we had this game
that our producer Brock used to do
where he would tell us
what the person was wearing,
what they looked like,
how old they were,
what machine they were, what machine
they were using in the gym
and then we would stereotype them
to guess what sort of song they were listening to.
One of our favourite games, boys.
And one of our favourite producers may I ask.
Yeah, such a dedicated producer.
He went and did it and...
Yeah, and then he went to bring...
You never questioned, did he?
No.
And so we said to Brady, because he goes,
oh, I could do that.
And we said, cool, so all you got to do
is write down what they look like
and what they were doing.
And then go up to them and ask them,
what are you listening to?
And then we'll know who's the closest
when we inevitably guess wrong.
Guys, I've been looking forward to this all night.
You know, I honestly,
was lying in bed going to sleep and go,
I can't sleep.
I remember.
That's fine.
I woke up as well.
And I woke up and I went,
Producer Brock's coming back.
And then I went,
no, no, no.
Just producer Brady's going to pull his way.
Okay.
So, so producer Brady this morning said to me,
Hey, Clint, we might have to take that bit out of the show.
And I said, why is that?
And he said, oh, because I might have chickened out.
So tell me what happened, producer Brady.
Yeah, from your perspective.
All right, so I went to the gym yesterday.
Perfect.
And I was like, I'm going to do it.
You know, I was full of confidence.
Usually pretty shy.
Got to the gym.
There was only like three people there and only one of them was wearing headphones.
And I was like, I'm not going to approach the only person in this gym
and ask them what song they're listening to.
So chickened out, admittedly.
Wait, so.
We've got nothing?
No audio.
He said to me, he goes, I thought it through and I thought,
I'm going to have to disconnect my headphones or take them off my head.
And I go, yeah, I think you could do that.
And then he goes, and then I have to walk over to them.
I was like, yeah, you've been walking for years, mate.
You know how to do it.
And then he goes, then I have to tap them on the shoulder.
Oh, tricky.
Yeah.
Now we're getting difficult.
And then I have to say, excuse me, what song are you listening to?
Yeah.
And I was like, yeah.
The game hasn't changed since yesterday.
He goes, yeah, and the anxiety just got me.
I can see what you mean.
You had to walk, tap, and ask.
Yeah.
That's three things.
We made it too confusing, didn't we?
Oh, I think we did.
Dan, I want to hear it.
Because yesterday you said that would be.
be your worst nightmare off of it.
And to be fair, I would hate it.
And that's why we outsourced it to you.
Yeah, we've done out time.
The amount of times I had to go into places and ask people we were wearing headphones
to do something.
No.
Was that a hot girl, a good looking dude?
No, it was a guy.
And, you know, the gym filled up, but I was doing legs yesterday.
So that's kind of in and out.
You know, that's like half an hour, just like three exercises, get it done real quick.
But maybe next time I go back, I can try.
Maybe.
No, no, no, no.
I don't want to hear it.
You're done, boy.
You're done.
Listen to your favorite breakfast show whenever you like.
Clint McGinn-Dame.
The Edge.
Your favorite game on the edge?
Just heads.
Easy money.
All right, here we go.
30 seconds on the clock.
If you can give us 10 answers this morning,
starting with the letter S.
The cash, $1,000 is yours.
You can pass if we've got time.
come back. You just can't repeat the same answer twice.
Hey Charlene, how are you?
I'm nervous.
Have you gone and checked out the new world in Teada too?
I see you live there.
Yes, I have.
Oh, what do you think? Is it fancy?
Yeah, that's that fancy.
I love a good new supermarket.
Oh, and are you collecting the stamps for the knives?
Yeah.
No, I'm not collecting the stamp.
No, no, no.
Take too long.
Take too long.
Yeah, no, no, no.
I'm Ushy all day.
Anyway, Charlene,
how are you at general knowledge?
Do you think you can do this?
Ten answers in 30 seconds?
Well, I have been practicing, and so, yeah.
Okay, good.
Charlene, well, your letter this morning is S, okay?
Okay, it's my name.
Yes, a fourth supermarket and Charlene.
Okay.
Right, your time will start at the end of Meg asking you your first question.
Good luck.
Okay.
Give me an animal.
Oh my gosh, pass
Something you'd make for dinner
Um
sausages
A language
Pass
Something you wear
Shoes
A three-letter word
So
Something you'd find in a shed
Um
Pass
A drink
Time, Charlene
Do you want to have another crack
Now there's no time pressure
With an animal
What's an animal that starts this
A Sambuca
A sheep
Or a snake
Or a shark
I thought you said
A drink
No
Have you been practicing
Have you been drinking?
I don't know
An animal
An animal
Yes
A sheep
Yeah
A language
You could have done
Spanish
or Swedish maybe
Charlie, I'm not lying when I say that was a shocker
That was really
It just wasn't your slumdog millionaire moment
I guess
Yeah
Thank you for that Charlie
Poor thing
I think she had high hopes
Mr. Macca
Maybe she's got
Maybe she's got a baby brain
She's got four kids I've just seen
Jesus that's hectic man
All of her mental energy
Is going to just keep an M alive
I imagine
Oh and this is a nice text from Christine
saying hi there
I like my coffee
First thing in the morning
Good on you, Christine.
Thank you, Christine.
We didn't ask all your thoughts.
And now we know if you ever in,
we'll give you a copy when you arrive.
Thanks, Christine.
Okay, back again at 8 o'clock.
Next, though, the imposter.
Who is lying?
Was it Indy from yesterday?
Or is it Lucy, who's about to tell us
the exact same story happened to her?
Yeah, no, 100 to the Edge.
Are you like Christine?
When do you like your coffee?
Clint McIn'N-Dan.
Edge Breakfast.
One truth.
Two live.
$100.
All right, we are about to hear
true story. It just may not necessarily
be told by somebody that it actually happened to.
Three people are telling the same story, but only one of them is telling the truth.
End of the week, we will get your decision and hopefully award
the person telling the truth $500. But if we accidentally award it to the
imposter, they steal the cash, even though it was never theirs.
Have you ever wanted to be a detective or a private investigator, one of those type
professions? This is your chance to flex your muscle. Because we need you as a jury.
This is the test to see if you've got the natural knack.
Okay, well, Indy said that this happened to her.
Lucy says, no way it happened to me.
So what allegedly happened to you, Loose?
So I was about 12 years old.
It's Christmas morning and there's a police helicopter landing in the backyard
and the SWAT team coming through the house.
Bloody hell.
There's a lot of stuff to get through.
Boys, do you have a question and started off?
Or would you like me to do the audience?
Well, I'm wanting to know.
Like, first of all, police helicopter landing in the backyard.
That's a big backyard, Dan.
Yeah, all three of us, I don't think any of us have got a backyard big enough for a helicopter.
What about your childhood backyard?
Clint, maybe you.
Yeah.
Might, yeah, Glenn's like, yes, he could.
Possible.
Where in the country were you at the time, Lucy?
Living, like, rurally in Northland.
So plenty of space for a helicopter to land.
A young child and you go to open prisons and you hear a helicopter.
How does it all wrong?
All out.
It was kind of weird.
Like my little brother, he has a thing for helicopter.
So I thought maybe mom and dad had, like, got the, you know,
fertilizer helicopter to pop by, you know?
Then there was all these, like, people and white suits coming through.
And, yeah, it was actually kind of scary, to be honest.
Yeah.
So the question is why?
Why were they sending the SWAT team into your house and the police helicopter landing?
So it actually wasn't supposed to be our house
They'd got it mixed up with like
The neighbours
And they thought that there was a mess lab
So
Swat team for a meth lab
Do they send in the helicopter for a meth lab?
I don't know
You see people with white suits came running in
I mean swap
The last time I saw him on TV
They're all in black
So who was wearing white
Oh yeah maybe
Yeah maybe I got that
Maybe I got that wrong
Oh.
To give you the benefit of the down, Lucy, I suppose when you're 12, it's hard to know.
It's a long time ago.
How old are you now?
Who's doing what?
I'm 25 now.
Did you ever hear what happened to the neighbours?
It was a pretty big bust.
Like, I think there was like maybe three of them that got taken to jail.
I thought they'd be doing a dawn raid on a Christmas morning.
Yeah, but it happened to someone.
This is a true story somewhere.
Yeah.
Okay, time is well up.
All right, that is all we get from you, Lucy.
We have to try and find out.
or not you are telling the truth or you are an imposter.
If you do manage to fool us or the story is yours,
you'll win yourself 500 bucks.
Okay.
Good luck.
Thanks, Lucy.
Thanks, mate.
That story's a sieve.
That is clearly a lie to me.
Although someone has text through Sarah saying,
I had the Westpac helicopter land in my front yard at one time.
It's definitely possible.
And then Nathan says, if they got the wrong house and they were looking for a meth lab,
maybe they were looking for my dad's house.
Yeah.
And SWAT don't wear white.
It's the most like, they want to be camouflaged and dark.
I mean, maybe she got confused, on the air getting nervous,
SWAT showed up, but then you would send people who would then do meth testing, right,
to make sure they've got the right house.
So who are you for more then, Dan, if you think she's a definite liar,
are you now leaning towards yesterday?
So you said was it also in line?
I think we've had both liars.
I'm hoping tomorrow we hear the person,
and they're fully just like believable.
Well, Sam just said I actually think her story's true.
they'd be wearing white to protect themselves from the meth.
Okay, what do you reckon?
I don't know.
I don't think they're sending in SWAT with white suits on straight away.
I don't think that happens.
Maybe SWAT land, and then the meth got a shot up.
Most people are calling a liar.
I wait under the edge.
Clint McGinn Dan.
Edge Breakfast.
The edge.
One truth.
Two lies.
And $500.
Click Megan.
Okay, so we've heard from two now.
We've heard from Indy.
All of which, both girls so far have said that they had a helicopter
land in their backyard on Christmas Day
and the SWAT team crashed their house.
So it was actually like nothing bad or sinister was happening.
So we were staying at my aunt and uncle's house
and they basically had a friend who was in the police
and they thought it would be like a really awesome Christmas surprise for us kids
if they would come and pop by.
So that was yesterday and then Lucy, if you just missed it this morning,
he says, no, no, no, this is why SWAT crashed her house on Christmas Day.
It was kind of weird.
Like my little brother, he has a thing for helicopter.
So I thought maybe mom and dad had got the, you know,
fertilizer helicopter to pop by.
Then there was all these people and white suits coming through.
And, yeah, it was actually kind of scary, to be honest.
She said they mistaken her house for a meth house.
I imagine it would be very scary.
Tyler texted and said if it was, I think we're going to try and get a mile.
If it was a meth bus, white suits is normal.
Is it?
So maybe there is some truth to it.
I don't believe the first girl that said that they were coming over just for a little Christmas gift.
That doesn't happen.
So Andre, we hear from him next.
Do you think both girls are lying?
I'm leading towards we've had two liars so far.
Was Andre last week or is another Andre?
No, he is tomorrow.
Oh, wow.
Oh, sorry, sorry.
What did you say Tyler producer?
Tyler is up here.
We've got Tyler morning.
Tyler, you say where meth suits are normal.
white meth suits?
Oh, well, if they're going to do a meth bus,
why would you wear black, right?
But what they be sent...
If it was a meth bust,
would they be sending in the people
straight away in this big raid
without checking first?
I don't know.
Well, I guess they don't want
them to do a runner, right?
Well, I suppose they're saying
that it's in rural north of Gert.
Yeah, yeah.
It could be their team
coming from Auckland.
You never know.
I just don't think when you see kids
when there's kids involved.
They get out of the helicopter, there's children everywhere.
I don't think they're going to go in all guns blazing with white suits,
raiding the house.
Yeah, but I guess if they think they've got the right house,
they don't think they're going to go all guns blazing with children inside.
That's the point is that Indy said that they got the wrong house.
Sarah, you have seen helicopters do this sort of thing?
Yes, I had a West Cape helicopter land in my front yard as a kid
because the neighbour had a heart attack.
Oh, my goodness.
And so do you live in a rural area or are you in a urban?
situation?
It was I guess semi-rural, I guess, but not.
I wouldn't say super rural.
So they don't need that much room to land?
No.
No, honestly, it was, oh, yeah, I wouldn't have thought that a helicopter could have landed
there, but lo and behold, it is.
Wow.
Okay, well, look, there's more...
The feedback coming through, if I'm honest, I think it's skewed towards them saying
that she's a liar, Lucy.
But there are still people that believe her because of the white...
suits, they're going in, there's a meth bust, it seems feasible.
You do have to hear all three stories, so make sure you're listening just after 7 o'clock
tomorrow. Apologies, Isaac is the one, Isaac, who says that, nah, it was me that had the helicopter
land in our backyard on Christmas Day. Now, I'm hoping Isaac tomorrow is one of those ones we get
on and he's just believable. And we go, that's the true story, the other two are lying.
Yeah. It's just such a crazy story to have happened to anybody that you're going to find holes in it
because your brain doesn't think that it could happen.
That's so true. So if you're one of these people that have texted.
through a lot of texts this morning on this.
Make sure you're listening tomorrow
because then you get the last bit of evidence
and we can make our decision.
As a nation, as a jury.
And hopefully we award the $500 to the person
actually telling the truth.
Heavy scandal next.
Yeah, Hayden, Paneterre, you probably have heard
passed away yesterday.
We're going to be talking about it next.
Quarter of five seven, Clint Megan Dan.
Take the edge off your day with Clint Megyn Dan.
You would have heard that Hayden Panetieri
passed away a couple of days ago, we think,
but we found out about it yesterday.
She rose to fame with heroes.
She was also on Nashville, and she recently released a book in May about her memoir and her struggles of alcohol addiction after postpartum depression and a really traumatic birth, which is all in her story.
She had a horrible birth.
It was 14-hour labor, and then she had a three-hour surgery, and then she had to have seven blood transfusions.
And from that, she believes that's why she got postpartum depression.
and from the post-partum depression, she couldn't connect with her daughter
and from not being able to connect with her daughter.
She then handed over custody to her ex-husband,
and she self-medicated with alcohol,
which led to struggles for the past many, many years.
It's incredibly hard to talk about and sad,
and I know it's a horrible thing to talk about,
but it is the biggest story at the moment.
And there are tributes coming in, Viola Davis said,
I wish the world had more time with you because I had a burning curiosity about who you were becoming.
I saw this beautiful phoenix rising from the ashes.
May they always speak your name, which was, I thought, a beautiful tribute to her.
And I don't know if you guys have been following, but I think the headlines this week,
there have been a big connection between Hayden, and we don't know what happened, really.
We don't have the big stories, the big news that has come out, but there have been talks of the 911
uncle alluding to a novice.
And her speaking about postpartum depression and that she struggled with it and birth trauma.
And then also the Lindsay Clancy case, if you have been following that with the defence being postpartum psychosis, there's like no doubt that the headlines at the moment are underlying the screaming of like no matter if you're rich and famous in a celebrity or just a mum at home that is asked multiple times for how.
from professionals, from mental health lines, from her doctors,
saying, I am not well and being ignored and sent home
and then having the greatest tragedy ever to happen.
Obviously, that case is still open.
I can't say what will be found with that.
But there is definitely this underlying way that I think people who are mothers
can connect to of like, we have all struggled.
And you can sit there and go, that could have been me at some point,
if I had a different experience.
So I think it's, yeah, it's, I think, really harrowing.
I feel incredibly saddened about Hayden.
I feel incredibly sad and just thinking about how somebody who is a celebrity
who had all the fame and the money and the help still struggle deeply with this one thing
that still needs research and still needs more help.
The shocking thing for me is, and it happens with every celebrity death,
is the release of the 911 call.
Yeah, it's horrible.
Why is that a thing in America?
Like, it's nowhere else in the world does that happen?
Like imagine having a loved one passed away
And then the day after
Not even the day after
12 hours after it, the 911
call gets released
And for that reason
That's why we won't be playing it on ear
But does she call 1-1-1 or does someone call on her behalf?
No, somebody a friend founder, unfortunately
And then had people come over to try and help with cardiac arrest
So yes, Sending
Love to anybody affected by the story, obviously
And I can only hope that
maybe Hayden talking about her mental health,
talking about post-partum depression,
talking about birth trauma,
maybe sparks a change somewhere for someone.
That's what she wanted anyway.
That's what she said in her memoir,
that maybe me being open about it
means that somebody else gets help.
That it takes the loss of such an incredible life
for that change sometimes to happen.
But, I mean, if nothing happens,
then that's even sad.
So true.
Yeah, just another sad day of celebrities
passing away this year.
It seems like we've had a lot
over the last life.
like eight months or whatever it is.
Yeah.
So yeah, Sam Neal just recently.
Wow.
All right.
Well, hopefully if that has hit a nerve,
then maybe that's what you need to say,
hey, look, I actually really am struggling here,
and I need help.
Yeah, yeah.
It's just a dire situation out there
with mental health.
So please get help if you can.
And, yeah, of course,
any love to family and friends affected.
Yeah, if you do need help with anything,
They've got trained counsellors and peer support workers
that you can talk to by just dialing 1737 in New Zealand
Free any time of the day or nights.
It's breakfast, Clint McG and Dan.
You may have missed Kath yesterday.
Crazy story.
Meg found her online.
I think she was blowing up about her story only like, it was only a week ago.
Yeah, yeah, it was.
So her wedding was meant to be, I think, like a week ago on Saturday
or a little bit earlier, but she'd just come back from her honeymoon
three days ago when we got to chat to her.
Yeah, on her own, because her husband.
What's her mum?
Ghosted her. I just heard her mum.
Yeah, she took her mum.
Did you have to be, give you a reason as to why he left you seven days before the wedding?
Not really, to be completely honest.
So what had happened was I'd come home from a residential boot camp and he was really cold with me.
I was like, I need you to tell me what wrong.
Like I literally forced him.
And I still think had I not have forced him to do that, he would have just kind of gone through with it.
He literally just said, I don't think we should get married.
like, I just don't think we should.
I don't think we're happy.
And I was like, what do you mean at seven days?
When do the guests find out that he's not coming?
He didn't even tell his side of the family.
So they all turn up.
You have to tell him?
So you haven't heard from him at all?
Like, when was the last time you spoke?
I have, but it's really minimal.
It's like, what are you doing posting this online?
And I'm like, well, what are you doing,
jilting me seven days before my wedding?
She posted it all up on TikTok and stuff, Ace.
making lemonade from lemons since she's getting hers, but he didn't like it.
Ghosting does seem like a cruel thing to do.
Especially that deep into like six and a half years.
I guess it's a cowardly thing because people just can't face the music,
so they just go, I'm just going to go.
It's so little respect, isn't it?
It's more respect for yourself because it's a hard thing.
I don't want to do it rather than respect for the person you're leaving.
Devil's advocate.
Of course.
Go on.
He always is, isn't he?
Go on.
You're going to hell.
It's better for somebody to pull the pin a week before you're wedding.
than go through with it when they know they don't want to marry.
Yeah, I think he did her a favour in the end.
He should have done it earlier, but yeah, it's better that.
I feel like I'd rather go through with it.
Really?
I'd rather, like, it's just a piece of paper at the end.
You know, like, I'd rather just go through with it.
Everybody's there.
Takes two years to divorce, though.
I'm not going to find anyone in two years, let's be honest.
You're standing up there saying, you know,
I swear to spend the rest of my life with you till death to us part,
and then months later, you're going to be like, no.
We all did hook the musical.
We can act, mate.
I don't think I've ever been ghosted by anyone,
apart from my dad.
But I mean, there was...
But you've only had two relationships and one of them married to.
True, true.
But it would really cut you deep, wouldn't it, if you were ghosted?
You'd be like, why? What happened? What was I doing wrong?
Have you been ghosted in a friendship, Dan?
You're friends with somebody, and suddenly you just never hear from them?
The fact that I have to think about it makes me think, even if I did, they didn't mean much to me.
Maybe you ghosted then.
Yeah, maybe I did.
My wife has got a friend.
I'm trying to keep this as generic as possible.
So it's Jamie's freedom.
So her and her partner were arguing about
whose family they were going to spend Christmas with.
And so in the end they were both like,
well, you just spend Christmas with your family
and I'll spend Christmas with mine.
Okay.
So it went away for like four or five days.
And then when she came back to their place,
all of his stuff was gone.
And he cleared out all of his crap.
She called him, just kept ringing, ringing, ringing, ringing, ringing,
wouldn't pick up.
And eventually she had to call his mum
And his mum was like, yeah, he doesn't want to be
dating you anymore.
Oh, you'd be so embarrassed as the mother, wouldn't you?
Grown-ass man.
What a pussy.
Over Christmas.
Yeah.
All good if you don't want to be with them.
But man up and talk to them and break up with them properly.
They were together, yes, they lived together.
It just cleared out all of his stuff silently over the holiday period.
You'd be so disappointed in your kid if that's how they act
with somebody they've spent their life with.
There's two worst ghostings.
You might have to look back now.
I'm going to go, yeah, I guess I can look back and laugh, but at the time it wasn't that funny.
Can you come close to Kath's story who was ghosted at her own wedding a week out after a six and a half year relationship?
Oh, 800 at the edge or 3343 on text.
Get your Clint Megan Dan Fax.
The edge.
Worst ghostings off the back of chatting with Kath, who was left at the altar seven days before the big day.
She still went through at the wedding because it was in Tuscany.
And then there was no chance of getting a refund.
But after a six and a half year relationship, he just decided not and bailed on the wedding a week.
out.
Yeah.
It seems shocking,
doesn't it, Meg?
I mean,
someone's message
through who has
ghosted someone before,
which is a different perspective.
They said,
the few times I've told someone
that I really liked
that I didn't really like them
and wanted to stop communicating with them,
they blew up and caused all sorts of drama.
The silent exit is simply less hassle
and requires less energy
and is smoother.
But is that,
just because it's easier,
it doesn't mean it's better.
Yeah.
Yeah.
But then what's still?
It's like me running my closure letter.
You're going to get a few of those from me.
Tricky if it's a friend, because what are you supposed to do?
You're supposed to tell him you're not compatible as mates anymore.
There's actually a woman, Michelle Elman, that talks about that.
She's got a book called Bad Friend End, Why Friendship Breakups Herd and How to Do It.
And she says that you should like break up with a friend rather than just slowly drift apart, which I just can't even imagine.
I know, Dan.
And she said it's more respectful to say, hi, I just want to let you know.
I really love our friendship over the years
and what it has given me
but I do believe that we have gone
in different ways as people
I know!
What do you think?
Breakouts with friends?
The only time that would work
is if you were very close
like best friends
and that person did something
that was really quite detrimental to the friendship
and then you had to send them a message
to be like we're done.
I get that.
My best friend tried to break up with me once
and I just said no thanks.
Well let's find out what Brooke thinks.
Brooks had a best friend goes to her
Would you rather, Brooke, that they sat you down and said that it's not working out as mates anymore?
I'm not friends with them anymore.
Literally, we were hanging out every day, and then all of a sudden I moved,
and we were still, like, talking, shat-hating everything,
and then I woke up, and then they blocked me on everything.
So you don't know why?
Did they give you a reason?
No reason.
And even on, like, deep reflection, you can't sit there and go, it's probably that.
No. I'm like, I honestly have no idea.
It was like three of them that just woke up one day and just blocked me.
I was like, what a heck?
Have you...
Not because you hooked up with her boyfriend?
No, no, no.
Have you tried in any way or capacity to email or, you know, do anything outside of the blocking
to find out what's going on?
Because I would think something happened to them.
I actually have a funny story about that.
One of my other friends, I blocked her and she actually sent me to email.
I was asking me to unblock her.
Yeah.
Well, why did you block her?
She stole from me.
She stole from you.
It sounds like blocking tennis.
Everyone's blocking each other.
Yeah.
And on the voice disguiser, please, Clint.
Jade, good morning.
Jade, fake names.
Good morning.
Yeah, morning.
Now, this must be juicy if you've got a voice disguiser.
What happened with the ghosting with you?
I had a sibling that walked out on our mother.
With no reason.
No excuses.
No nothing.
No mother's perfect.
We all make mistakes.
But she had a great life.
And 27 years passed.
And mum passed away.
There's a little bit of money and a mistake.
Just a little bit.
Yeah.
And get she's come back.
Yeah.
Okay, I'm going to quickly repeat that in case.
Contesting.
My mom was proud of her well.
She'd make pace.
with the ones that caught her out of her life
with no explanation.
Yeah, sorry, Jay,
where the voice disguiser is just assorting her.
What she was saying is that one of her siblings
ghosted her mom,
cut her off completely,
and 27 years later, after mum passed,
is now coming back for some inheritance.
That's a common thing, eh?
When there's money involved
or what makes people really quite terrible.
Wow, that would piss you off royally
if you were the other sibling
and then suddenly that one came back.
So if you decided to leave,
that's totally fine,
you can't come back now.
I know.
I guess they're entitled to it
because they're still the parent.
But at the same time,
how dare you come back
when your mother's passed
and she died not knowing?
What about the last text?
He just came about?
My partner of 10 years ghosted me
when I was 11 weeks pregnant.
I got home from work and he just moved out.
I haven't seen him since.
Oh my God.
That is truly the top tier coward move.
Yeah.
And he's the one missing out
because then he doesn't get to raise his school kid.
I mean, I feel for you in that situation.
of that person that's text through, but the kid is the real victim there.
10 weeks, so obviously very newly, freshly found out, and maybe...
Freaked out and bailed.
See you'll later.
Hopefully you've found someone else, so there could be a father figure or...
Oh my God, scary.
Get your Clint McGinn Dan Fix.
Clint McGinn Dan's.
What you want to do what you want!
What you got?
A few stories to chuck on your radar for Tuesday, 18th of August.
There's been a rise in people using AI chatbots
that are already in relationships.
So that's like you, Clint, being in a relationship,
a happy married relationship with your wife, Jamie,
but then also using a chatbot.
What can a chatbot give me than my wife?
Intimacy, I guess.
Not physical, but chatting, you know, sexy talk, that kind of thing.
Oh, my wife's can do that.
15% of people...
She doesn't, but she can.
Yeah, apparently 15% of people in the survey,
done in America, to be fair, not New Zealand,
have admitted to using AI chatbot
when they're already in a relationship.
So it's not like chat GPT where they can just talk to them.
It's like specifically for romantic purposes.
Yeah, I think you can download certain apps where you can personalise the perfect partner,
then chat to them.
It seems crazy to me.
Not sure about that.
Yeah, what would your thoughts be able to?
No. If I found out a guy had done that,
I'd feel extremely hurt in the way of what is something, a machine or a robot giving you that I'm not,
and why wouldn't you communicate that to me?
Constant validation, that's what it would be.
Oh, that's so hard.
Oh my God, that's so unfair.
Because it would just be on your side all the time.
All the time.
All the time.
And you'd suddenly become the enemy in that situation, right?
Because you can never live up to a perfect chatbot.
That has been programmed to support you endlessly at any time of the day and night.
Unless you started taking on that really supportive role and then in your own marriage,
because chatbot has taught you communication skills.
True.
Yeah, but even then, wouldn't it be, if they were using it word for word and being like,
what should I say back to this?
I'd find that hard because you're not using your own.
Unless it's, I guess, teaching you.
But, yeah, I'm struggling with that down.
Yeah, fine line between being told what to say.
Someone teaching you to be a better communicator.
Yeah.
I mean, my wife, Hannah and I's chat is very unsexual.
Like the last thing I texted her was what we're having for dinner.
Oh, and what are you having, Kish?
We haven't talked about it today.
That was yesterday.
Oh, right.
I'm hoping it's Kish.
The mind was, oh, you poor thing.
Have you had any viral X?
Oh, God.
Hot.
Hot.
Yeah, she's just in bed all the time at the moment.
Yeah.
Sexy.
Okay.
And it looks like the law is changing in New Zealand.
People can now use reasonable force
to detain someone committing a crime
under some new crimes act.
But here is the catch.
You can't question or search them
or use unnecessary force
or keep holding them if police tell you to release them.
You know there's going to be some power-tripping dudes, eh?
Who are just going to be like all over it.
So this is a citizen's arrest, isn't it?
Because that's been legal in America for a while.
So I can essentially, if I saw Meg shoplifting,
I can run up to her tackle it to the ground.
Well, it says not force.
Oh, right.
Yeah, be sure that you have the right person
and explain they are under citizens arrest
and I'm going to call 1-1-1.
So maybe we could all have a go with that
and see who sounds like they have the most authority.
I imagine people were just having arguments
and they're like, all right, mate, you're under arrest.
And you've got, no, I'm not.
I want to hear what Meg would do.
I'm not going for a shotgun not because you guys are going to stitch me up.
Clint, you can go first.
It's your idea.
Well, you've got to give me an action.
Okay, and you've seen someone shoplifting.
Action.
You're under citizens' arrest.
No, I'd laugh and run.
You got a little smile on your first.
No, because I'm excited.
It's the first time I've done one.
No, serious enough.
Okay, here's what I'd do.
You need to rock an oie.
Okay, all right, and...
Action.
I! Stop right there on the name of the law!
I am stopping you from shoplifting.
He's right off by the...
Too many words, bro.
He's new say citizens...
You haven't even said he's under arrest yet.
Yeah.
You're under arrest, citizens arrest.
He's well gone.
Okay, go.
All right, Meg.
I did like the authority, though.
Yeah, you need an owing.
Okay, I'll do a hang.
Okay, okay.
Action.
He's gone already.
Meg's like, do I, do I or do I not?
Excuse me, sir.
Okay.
Hey!
No, do I.
Okay, wait.
No, shit.
Come on.
We'll do it again.
We'll do it again.
We'll do it again.
We'll do it again.
Okay.
Okay, he's smashing all the glass
in the Michael Hall jeweller and taking all the jewellery.
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey.
Okay.
No, far out.
Action!
Can you stop that?
No, it's just not.
I'm not, it's not my...
You've really leaned into hay, haven't you?
Well, tell him he's under arrest.
You're under arrest.
No, citizens arrest.
You're under citizens arrest.
He's already run off.
I reckon he's halfway down the road by now.
Yeah.
It's hard to do.
Make sure you practice it.
Yeah, it's really hard to do, actually.
Especially if you can't provide physical.
force. Comes out better in my head
than through my mouth. Yeah, it's
a lot of stuff. Yeah. Isn't it?
Listen to your favourite breakfast show whenever you
like. Clint McGinn Dan.
The Edge. Your favourite game on the edge?
Just heads.
Easy money. Two past eight,
thousand bucks on the line if you can give us 10 answers
starting with the letter L in 30 seconds.
You can pass. If we've got time, we'll come back.
You just can't give the same answer twice.
L for loser, which you don't want to be in this game.
True, true. All right. It's right. It's right.
this morning. Oh, look, another Aucklander. We don't get many Aucklanders on the show. That's nice.
Morning, Rob. How are you going? Morning, morning. Good, good, good. How are you guys?
Good, mate. Oh, you want a thousand bucks to put towards your trip to Japan? When are you off?
In the year, in December.
Okay, exciting. Have you been before?
I've been a long time ago, but, yeah, my wife hasn't been before, so it should be a good time.
That's so exciting. Okay, well, let's hope that we can get $1,000 for you to go and spend.
on your wife when you're in Japan.
I hope you like crowded trains.
Yes.
Okay.
Rom, your letter is L.
Cool.
Okay, you can do this.
Good luck.
Give me a food.
Lentils.
A job.
Laborer.
A name.
Liana.
An animal.
Labrador.
A star sign.
That's fine.
A star sign.
Pass.
Something you turn on.
Um.
Lent.
A five-letter word?
That's time, Ron.
You were cruising at the start, brother.
The Labrador we would have passed, right?
Yeah.
That sort of threw you, because after that, you're all over the show.
Baga.
I got on my own head.
Yeah, yeah.
Labrador would have been okay, and we would have been maybe getting to the end, possibly.
That was a good effort, Ron, but sorry, not quite quick enough.
It's hard.
It is hard.
No, mate, it's called Easy Money.
All right, well, maybe it's your moment tomorrow.
seven and eight another crack at winning a thousand bucks with easy money
oh she always gets tense in studio on a Tuesday after 8 o'clock with the A-lister list
Yeah please guys let's just agree we're all friends
But we need to debate three names next do they deserve to be on the A list
B list or C list
Clint McGinn Dan
Edge Breakfast
Once a week we fight it out as a team with your help as to which celebrities deserve to be at the top
And which ones do not
It's a quick shout at as well if you're listening to us on Rover we are
having some technical difficulties.
It isn't your phone and we're trying to get it fixed in the background.
It keeps repeating apparently.
Yeah, nightmare.
Yeah, okay.
Nightmare.
All right.
Your three celebrities this morning, one of them is a birthday boy.
Happy birthday to Andy Samberg.
Oh, yeah, we're on a boat.
Jesus, okay.
He's definitely not a.
Brooklyn 9-9, one of the more popular teams.
Don't need all A-listers.
Don't need everyone to be an A-lister.
That's fine.
Robert Downey Jr.
Ooh, now we're talking.
And Kate Winslet.
Oh, aye, aye, aye.
And she did Titanic forever ago.
Oh, okay, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So those of your three people, look, I know I made it a bit of a mix bag this morning.
Andy Sandberg, Robert Downey Jr., Kate Winslet.
Where would be sitting so far straight off the bat?
I would go Samberg.
I had to think about how I knew of, which puts them, I would say, at a C or a D.
Yeah, we put him with Lamar.
Oh, he's the only one there in the D list.
I would put him in a C.
Andy?
Matt's just checked in and caps.
Andy is top A-lister.
Jesus, okay.
Beyonce's going to be pissed off.
Is Andy working here tonight?
What's he doing?
Wait a, could I have he's get another drink, please.
You've got Robert Downey Jr.
A.
I think, yeah, he's got to be A in most people's eyes, isn't he?
He's Iron Man, also one of the most bankable stars in the world.
I think everybody knows, if you said the name, Robert Downey Jr, you know he's an actor.
Could you give me five of his movies?
All the Mars.
Marvel movies.
Iron Man, Iron Man, Iron Man.
He's in Sherlock Holmes.
He plays Sherlock Holmes.
He was in another movie called U.S. Marshals, which was a great movie in the 90s.
Oh, I love that film.
Yeah.
So he's done a lot of stuff.
It's Iron Man that is really made in the man he is when it comes to celebrity.
And Kate Winslet.
She's Rose from Titanic A-lister.
She's an A.
But Dan always goes, they've done nothing lately.
She's done stuff.
No, she definitely has done lately.
Tell me what she's done.
She did, latest avatar, which was last year.
Yeah, and she's going to be in the next Lord of the Rings movie.
She's also did that incredible something of Maidtown.
What was it called?
Mayor of Maidstown.
Something like that.
I didn't see it.
It was actually a really great series.
It was very, very good.
She was amazing, did it?
I didn't recognise her when she was blue as the avatar.
Yeah, well, it's hard to recognise them where they do that.
CGI does that clip.
Yeah, okay, I think it'll be hard pressed to not put Kate at an A.
Yeah.
Everybody knows Kate Winslet.
Okay, so, okay.
As a show, and you can disagree with saying Robert Downey Jr.
and Kate Winsett are A's.
And what's his face going?
C.
Andy Sandberg.
I think he's a C and lucky to be there.
Someone else has put him at a B.
Someone said, I don't even know who Andy is.
Wow, so he's got A, B, and C being thrown around for his name for Jessica.
Well, Gen Zia Brady, producer Brady, he just said, who the hell is Kate Winslet?
Shocking.
Shut up.
Have you not said Titanic?
I have, but I don't know she was.
Okay.
I'm severely uncultured, like, severely.
Do you know who Robert Downey Jr is?
Yeah, of course.
So you're sexist?
No, I wouldn't say I'm sexist.
Google, there's a scene where he paints.
Have a look at that.
Just Google it's more.
Yeah, he paints her like one of his French girls.
Yeah, well, that makes me think that maybe she isn't an A-lister
if there is people questioning it, but you need to get involved.
A-lister is like household name, everyone knows, like Oprah or Leonardo DiCaprio.
Kate Winslet, surely.
Mayor of East Town, not Wadestown.
Mayor of Whistleton.
Oh, it's so close.
Mayor of Whistleton.
All right, Texas, call us.
Oh, 800, The Edge.
Clint McGinn, and Dan.
Edge Breakfast. The Edge.
All right, we find out three names at the moment.
You get the final say as to who deserves to be in the AB or C list
out of the three celebrities Meg's thrown out this morning.
Birthday boy, Andy Sandberg from Brooklyn Nine-Nine, or I'm on a boat,
Robert Downey Jr. and Kate Winslet.
We're looking for at the moment.
Now, the biggest debate is over Sandberg, Andy Sandberg,
who I would say as a sea-lister.
I mean, people are saying maybe B-list,
but I've got to remind you that Harry Stiles is on the B-list.
You put him there.
David Schwimmer.
I'd argue he probably could have been on the C-D.
Do you want me to find other B-List? Is that more?
Chris Prair and Hathaway, B-List, B-List.
I don't think Sandberg's in that.
Dua Leap, Arana Grande.
And that is why I think he is C-List.
Based on the level of celebrity that's in the B-list currently,
It feels like Sandberg as a C.
All right, Emma, you decide.
Let's go through your votes.
So I put Andy as a C.
But now thinking about what you just read out,
he's probably like a F.
And the other two A, they're so famous.
Everyone knows their name.
Robert Downey Jr.
Kate Winner's letter.
I think it's safe to say we would put them both at an A,
although some people are coming through saying B.
Okay, so M, we're on the same page as you.
Yeah, that's good to know.
Okay, what about you, Matt?
Matt, darling.
Hello.
Hello.
You are the captain of the Andy Sandberg fan club by the scene.
You put it in A?
Oh, mate, you know, just from Brooklyn Nine Allone, alone.
But then you've got his music collabs who's done for his lonely islands.
You know, I'm on a boat.
He's done a collab with Michael Bolton.
Yes, Michael Bolton.
Now we're talking.
I don't know, maybe.
Yeah, Andy Sam, he's done.
He's bringing into comedy to the party.
Yeah.
Look, we're in no doubt saying that he's funny and he is great.
But is he is famous as Brad Pitt, Beyonce, Michael Jordan.
I just don't think he is, man.
I mean, he's just as famous as Robert Downey Jr.
Oh, I disagree.
Michael Jordan didn't write a brilliant song like, it's my D in a box, did he?
Like Andy Sandberg.
Oh, he didn't.
I guess he did it.
And Justin did.
Thank you, Matt.
Let's go to Jasmine.
Andy Sandberg, what are you voting for him, Jasmine?
A B for A.
Wow, so he's getting A, B's and C's.
Yeah, he's getting all three.
This is actually very difficult to me.
Oh, when you start averaging them out, you know where it's going.
It's not looking good.
I mean, I think Meg, we can agree that we will put Kate Winslet and Robert Downey Jr.
Looking at the text, both A.
Both A.
I'm putting them in right now and locking them in.
There's no one challenging that.
No, we've had two B's for Kate, but the amount of A's outweighs it.
Yeah, sorry, I see your one, Luke saying Winslet's a B.
I don't think we've had anybody say Robert Downey Jr.
It's not an A.
Okay, he's in. He's in.
Andy Sandberg, on the other hand, we have a real plethora.
My favourite word at the moment.
Going through it, he's a B.
My goodness.
Well, I can't ignore the A's.
There are so many A's.
Yeah. So the amount of A's have pushed him up from D to B.
Okay, well on Sandberg.
Right, he's on the B. Right, he was in the door right after Lord.
If I'm Lord, if I'm Harry Stiles, if I'm the other people in that B room,
I'm turning around and going, who is this?
Hey, when does Harry Styles drop the song like this?
I'll take a look at me.
Hell of a career with it.
Honestly, looking at the last people we'll put on the B list as wild.
Mary Cade and Ashley Olsen, McCauley Colkin, Robert Pattinson, Ice Cube, Lord and Andy Stamberg.
God, he stopped to be there, aye.
What a list.
Andy's like, but I've got to go to this party.
They're looking on the B-list, baby.
My goodness.
Take the edge of your day with Clint Meg and Dan.
thousand bucks dash.
It's Clint the flit.
Now play the song.
Told to have a think about what we'd take to a desert island, the three of us.
We realized that once we've gone into the end of the list, we've gotten a lighter.
Clint said, don't worry about it.
I can make fire with two sticks.
Our boss Jack heard that and said, no, you cannot.
That's a gag.
I would give you $1,000 to a listener if you can make fire with two sticks.
Then we're here.
Okay.
Can I just say...
Thursday, I'm going to make fire too.
By the way, can you just take the bamboo off the desk?
because I don't want it catching fire here in the studio
if I touch it. It's ginormous.
If this turns out to be the worst radio we've ever done,
I blame you, Jack, for even
even just
laying the challenge to Clint.
I'm having fun, you know? Do you know how many guys
have DM me going, bro, easy, man,
you got this all day. I've got so much,
so many confidence to put it. I bet you could
land a plane too. Wow.
So Jack, if you didn't know, is our boss,
he's been, how long have you been in the job, Jack?
Six months? Still learning what good radio
is, clearly?
Yeah, thanks, Dan.
Learning from the best, that's right.
Jack has printed out what looks like a treasure map.
Yeah, I didn't do that.
I just wrote some notes,
and Cal has put like a pirate thing behind it.
I don't know what they had to do or anything.
It's theatrics, go. Come on.
Okay.
I like it.
You have some conditions for Clint.
I have some conditions.
So some discussions here with the team
and the Media Works legal team as well, actually.
Very serious.
These are the conditions they don't want to work to, right?
Thursday the 20th of August,
you'll have from 8.30 a.m. to 10 a.m.
to make fire.
You happy with that?
Yeah.
Like as soon as you see what would be like a flame on a candle.
You have to light something on fire.
Yeah.
Yeah, okay, cool.
That's fairly self-explanatory, I other thought.
Yeah, but he's not giving me anything but bamboo,
so I've got to light something on fire.
You'll be given two sticks of bamboo, which I've just seen.
You're going to have to get different bamboo.
That's ridiculous.
They're giant.
Is it too big?
Yeah.
Anyway.
Is that big to you, Jake?
That's an normal-sized bamboo to me.
Let him build his own brave.
Thank you, Meg.
If you make fire, you'll get $1,000 to give away how you see fit on the following day's show, which is Friday.
Okay.
Okay?
That should be given to Meg and I for going through with this.
Thank God.
The knife contingency.
Yes.
We keep coming back to this point of contention about the knife.
Because on this hypothetical, Meg already brought a machete to the island, so I obviously would use that like they do on Survivor to split the bamboo.
That's where you've been getting stuck, Clint.
And I wasn't going to give you a knife, but I've got some conditions to come my way.
to give you a knife. Does that make sense?
Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You've got to give,
you want to get something if you're going to give something.
Correct. Compromise.
I'll give you a small pocket knife.
But you must do a written statement on your personal Instagram
explaining that you, Clint Randall, were unable to make fire after stating you could.
That's condition one.
You give me permission to use your face on a billboard of my choosing for 48 hours.
And if you fail, you personally have to front 200 bucks to give to a listener on Friday.
I like this.
I like this Jeopardy.
Now we're talking.
Using my image on a billboard to advertise what?
That you suck.
Pretty much, yeah.
You couldn't do something.
I, Clinton and Randall, can't make fire.
And maybe some hemory cream.
Yeah, well, me and Dan will work on that in the background.
Don't worry about that.
Don't you want to go.
I can't afford your fee otherwise, so.
I like this.
Okay, so he has to make fire Thursday, 8.30 to 10 a.m.
Correct.
He has a mini pocket knife and a couple of bits of bamboo.
And if he doesn't do it, $200 to a list now out of Clint's pocket.
Am I being rolled here, Meg?
No, you get your knife.
I need to talk to my agent, but I haven't got time to call her.
No, I think that's fine.
I think the post in the billboard, whatever, but $200, you stand by that.
Okay, okay, I tell you what, like whether it's a pocket knife or a knife, doesn't matter.
I get to choose a knife from my house, like a kitchen knife.
And I'll agree to the billboard and giving up $200 of my own money if I fail.
And the Instagram?
Yeah, okay.
$300.300 you got a deal.
$300.
in your own knife, Clint, back to you.
Deal, $300.
Okay, now I'm confused as to what the deal is, but we'll move on.
The deal is on Thursday or Friday?
Thursday.
Clint will make fire.
If he doesn't, he has to pay $300 to a listener.
Post a thing on his Instagram saying he can't make fire and get a billboard,
but if he can make fire, then Jack, Boss Jack, has to pay $1,000 to a listener.
And you get a nice of your choosing.
And I don't have to worry about the Instagram post or the billboard or anything.
Great.
Happy days.
Done.
And I've got till 10 a.m.
an hour and a half on Thursday's show.
Correct.
I feel the only fire is going to be us getting fired for bad radio.
Hey, let's go through it and see how it goes.
Good. Oh, I mean someone's winning cash on Friday?
Yeah. Just depends where it's 300 or 1,000.
I guess so.
Yeah.
Okay.
Fireworks, people are winning.
Dan, do you see how easy it was to just give up $300?
I know. It must be nice.
I don't have $300 in my account.
I'm going to make fun.
Edge breakfast, Clint McGintan Dan.
I guess when you're about to have your wedding, there are a certain
things that you expect.
You want it to be perfect.
And some people can misconstrue those things
as being a Bridezilla.
Meg, did you have any Bridezilla moments when you...
No, I was actually really pleased that I didn't have any...
I was very chill, very relaxed, and then COVID hit.
There were some tears with that, but there was nothing, I didn't ask anybody
anything that I thought was out of line.
I think I kind of regret asking a couple of bridesmaids to fly over from England.
They've been my best friends, but now as an adult or older...
adult. I feel like that's a lot of money to ask for somebody to spend to come to your wedding
day. But they can choose not to. I know you're right. But to be a bridesmaid, I think, is more
pressure to be there. And so I kind of regret making them spend that. I think it's okay to
ask and say that that's what I would like. But then at the end of the day, like Dan said,
it's the... Yeah, it's true. It's different if it's a destination wedding when you're making
literally everybody go. That's true. Yeah, that's true. Okay, well, this woman's
Her name is Sophie, and she has a bachelorette party with her, it looks like three other friends,
and this is her text conversation that has been released, saying, girls, I need to ask something
before tonight because they genuinely don't want it becoming awkward later.
Okay, then she goes on to the other girls are saying, okay, God, what's this?
What's this?
And then she said, who brought the crocs?
As in the shoes.
And then one of the girls replied said, mine are the pink ones, lo.
Why?
Sad to crox.
Yeah.
And then she said,
Chloe, please tell me you're not bringing crocs
and going to wear them out tonight.
It depends if they've got the,
what do you call the little things on them?
The gibbits.
Jibets or not?
Jibbets.
I have some fancy gibbets that do elevate the crock
from casual to more like smart casual.
I agree.
Chloe replied saying they're literally just
just from my feet get too sore after heels.
And then another girl replied saying,
to be fair, that's actually really smart.
Oh, now they order them.
I should have thought of that.
That's a good idea.
It then goes back to the bride saying,
I'm sorry, but absolutely not.
We're getting photos all night.
I don't want bright pink rocks appearing in the background of everything.
I mean, if you're taking photos of the shoes,
I feel like the angles roll.
Yeah.
Are you getting shots of crocs everywhere?
Yeah, Chloe came back to say,
I'm not wearing heels for eight hours just because you don't like my shoes.
Fair.
And then it goes back to,
The bride saying it's one weekend
I've spent so much money trying to make everything
look a certain way.
She wants to get it for a gram.
And then Megan comes in another girl saying
Sophie nobody's going to care if Chloe changes into Crocs at 1am.
But then now she's going to get shade.
She's going to get shade to stick it up.
Now Megan's getting a direct message into her inbox.
Yeah, then the bride said, well I care,
especially when these photos are going online
I've paid for, I guess, them or the photographer maybe.
And then somebody said, are you actually banning crocs
from the bachelor's party?
So it goes back and forth to that.
This isn't even the wedding, by the way.
Imagine what the wedding day is going to be like.
I mean, I get that I think it's crazy
that you have to wear a certain type of footwear
to keep the bride happy.
But also, if it's your friend and it's her day,
do you just go fine?
I'll wear a different pair of shoes.
Do you know what?
It's going to bring up our favourite new quote.
They need a bigger world.
They need a bigger world.
If her biggest worry is that one of her best friends,
good enough to be in her bridesmaid's crew,
who wants to wear crocs at 1 a.m.
Because she's worn heels for eight hours, you need a big world.
My wife, at her wedding, she was the bride, obviously,
and she had nice shoes for the dress.
And then she changed into a pair of white chucks.
We supplied jandals to every guest to wear once,
so we could dance afterwards.
So they could take off the heels and enjoy it.
It's a really weird thing to want your friend to wear them.
Can we take some calls on weirdest wedding requests that you had from the bride to be?
Or groom to be?
Might have been some real diva guys as well
Get married going, nah, no, we're not doing that
Or you're not allowed to do this
I mean, it is there day
So you want to tow the line
But some requests might just be a little bit too far
Where you go, mate, the power's going to your head
Yeah, just, just sometimes it's not worth the fight, right?
Yeah, have you had a Bridezilla?
Or a groomzilla.
Yeah, I guess they exist.
I wait under the edge of 334, 3.
We're looking back, you were like,
That was so crazy that we allowed that to happen.
Get your Clint Meg and Dan Fax
The Edge.
People were talking about
conversation that has been leaked, you could say, between four girls in a bridesmaid group chat
where the bride is kind of requesting that they don't wear crocs on the night out because
there will be photos apparently taken, even though the girl just wants to wear heels for eight hours
and then do the crocs once she's like going home, which is so fair.
How many times I have walked home on concrete and taking my heels off on night out, I'll lose count,
boys.
Oh, I've lost count.
I've always wondered why crocs get so much.
It's so comfy.
They're very comfortable shoe.
Yes, they might be a bit uglier than some other shoes, but fine.
My honest to go question is more, what kind of huge bag is she taking where she can fit
a pair of crocs in there?
Like, we used to have these things.
There were almost vending machines that you pay a couple of bucks and you get a pair of shoes
that were just like basically paper just so your feet wouldn't go on the floor.
But crocs, you're putting them in a bag and taking them around all night?
That's a weird one.
We all know what the weird request was from the bride-to-be or groom-to-be.
This one.
We were told not to post any photos from the wedding until the bride had posted it is.
Yeah, that's totally normal.
Fine.
And absolutely should be respected.
That's every wedding.
Yeah.
That would piss me off if I had a wedding and I was a bride and something else posted the photo.
Oh, yeah.
This one's shocking.
My sister told me I wasn't allowed to get pregnant within six months of her wedding
because she didn't want me to steal focus.
We were trying for our first.
Stop.
Okay, let's go to Amy first.
Hey, Amy.
Morning, Amy.
Amy from Topo.
Morning.
There she is.
Okay, what was the weird request?
You need to, okay, I'm going to put her on hold.
And Carl, can you ever chat to her about a radio in the background?
I read this one out.
Honestly, I get it.
I had to remind my bridesmaids,
I was paying $30 per minute for my photographer,
and I needed them to stop chatting while she was trying to take photos.
I'm not paying this much for your conversation.
Talk later.
God, honestly, that sounds like a fun wedding.
Jesus.
No, fair.
She wants to get some great shots of her with her mates today.
Let her do it.
I know, but like, how can it...
Is that fun when you...
This one's worse.
For the Bachelorette party,
we got told no sheen dresses.
No she...
Oh, shut up.
You don't know the difference, really.
Yeah, how would you know?
Amy, hi again.
What happened with...
Is it the bride?
Okay, I give up on her.
Amy.
Amy.
She can chat with Carl.
She doesn't want to chat with us.
She's not a reason.
No more third choices.
And another...
And one text from a guy
saying that I was asked by my mate
who was the groom if I could shave my beard
because, quote, his wife doesn't like them.
Oh, God! No, I wouldn't be dealing with it.
Imagine that, if I said to producer Carl, hey, mate.
You know that beard you've been rocking for a decade?
You've got to shave it off if you want to be part of the bridal?
Can I see you later?
Procateau, if my wife didn't like beds
and I'd do in my bridal party, would you shave your beard off to be a part of it?
Absolutely not. I would never talk to her again and delete her number.
That's the only hair he's got. Let him have it.
No, thanks. Thank you, Dad.
He would look like a newborn.
I looked like a
Volderborn
It's an insane thing
to request of somebody
I think he looks good with a beard
I'm front and centre of all my photos
