This is a podcast from Rover.
Mornings with Clint McGinn Dan.
Fetch breakfast.
Good morning Monday, one to six.
We're back.
Hope you had a great weekend.
Happy Monday.
Well, rested.
Morning.
Yeah.
Lovely weekend for me.
Was it for you guys?
Yeah, what you got to?
Just a nice.
You know one of those relaxing ones
you didn't have much on?
Did you go to the record sale I told you to?
Yes, I did.
For me, sent me a thing on that it was at a church,
and I went along to the church.
It was fantastic.
Record and CD sale.
What did you buy?
Yeah.
I brought two out.
two vinals, some old stuff
you won't even know. Have you heard of Zizi Top?
Yeah, I did you ask the Lord to forgive
your sins too, are you there? I went in there and I felt
very, I haven't set foot
in a church in a long time since Sunday school.
No. No, good.
The devil's entered.
That's like my worst weekend when you're like,
yeah, did nothing. Yeah.
I'm like, really?
Yeah. Oh, I needed it. I felt
like I needed it just to like reset.
It was lovely. I watched reality TV
for the first time this year.
Love is blind you, Kate.
Yeah, 2026 was the first time I'd like,
and I'd watch it during the day.
My husband took the kids out, and I watched a reality TV.
Guys, I have not done that since, I mean, we're talking to yourself.
Ricky Lake.
Yeah, maybe.
Jesus, it's not that old clip.
It was very, very exciting for me.
I remember I come home from school, my mom would have Ricky Lake on,
and then I'd sit down, I got a tick to do that as a kid.
Daddy, how old are you?
Sometimes you say stuff, and I'm like, man, you were aging yourself.
Ricky Lake.
Matt, people remember Ricky Lake.
Yeah, maybe if they're on the...
their 50s.
What?
All right, show our hands team 3343.
If you remember Ricky Lake.
The Edge is the home of Clint McGee and Dan.
Clint McGee Dan, who knew we were starting the show like this?
We were talking about Ricky Lake and Dan was saying I'm old.
And so I said, look, people will remember Ricky Lake.
I remember coming home from primary school and mum would have it on.
And Julia, thank you for texting.
Francis as well.
Julia and Frances are both 73.
Andrew, thanks for texting.
All very young names.
Very young names.
Yeah, Ricky was good.
Someone said it was on at 2 o'clock.
So maybe it was if you got home early,
or maybe mum was recording them.
There'd been repeats.
I mean, back in the day,
I've seen Ricky leg repeats.
The one I remember is Days of Our Lives.
I'd come home and if you had a day off,
that would be on at like 2pm in the afternoon.
If he was sick, like young and the restless
in days of our lives.
Do you remember the song?
I never, oh my gosh.
I never watched this.
Send through the hourglass.
So are the days of our lives.
So this is crazy.
I didn't know this, but at first,
like the Days of Our Lives first aired
57 years ago, so in the 60s.
Wow.
It's still going.
Shut up.
And it's been renewed for another two seasons
through to 2028.
It is still going.
Where are you watching?
Also, Ricky Lake has not aged.
Have you seen that woman?
There was something that came up saying
Ricky Lake talks about facelift.
She must have the same.
surgeon is
Chris
Jenna?
No, redhead.
Oh, Lindsay Lohan.
Lindsay Lohan.
Oh, really?
Looking good.
Lindsay Lohan's not that old
but she looks incredible.
She's like my age.
Yeah.
Well, Cliffs A bit of what you could look like
with a facelift me.
Ricky Lake looks the same age as she did
when I watched her all those years ago.
Daytime TV was such a funny thing,
like days off.
If you're a kid of the 90s,
even early 2000s,
a day off school meant those TV shows.
Ricky Lake, Jerry Springer,
days of our lives.
Rachel Ray.
Rachel Ray.
Loved her.
She was much nicer, I think, than Rookie.
Rookie, like, I think, sat between Jerry Springer and Rachel Ray.
Yeah, right, right.
Then you got the later ones is Wendy, Wendy Williams.
She's just wild.
Have you seen Wendy Williams?
No.
You've seen...
Who's that?
Wendy Williams, you know Wendy.
I know Rachel Ray, she'd have a guest on, like, Taylor Swift, and then they'd make a soup.
You know, like it was...
Wendy Williams?
Oh, I've never heard of them?
Oh, you guys are old because she's sort of the newer ones, and I'm young.
I'm at the youngest on the show.
I mean, she used to watch Alan, maybe.
Yeah.
Did she do paternity tests at the end of all of her episodes?
Basically.
Get your Clint McGinn, Dan Fax.
Edge.
Time for a little coffee catch up.
And what's been happening over the weekend since we last caught up?
We're talking about daytime television just before someone else has mentioned another name from the past.
Sally, Jesse, Raphael.
Too many names.
Too many first names?
And you needed alliteration.
You know how we had Rachel Ray and then Meg, you had...
Wendy Williams.
Wendy Williams.
Yeah, sort of had to roll off the tongue.
I know we've got coffee catch up, but I remember speaking of days off.
I remember I had the day off school, the day that September 11 happened,
and the anniversary coming up in a couple of weeks' time.
I remember I was sitting at home and I was sick.
And I remember my grandma called me and she's like, turn on the TV.
America's being invaded.
And I was like, that seems weird.
So turn on the TV and watch that whole thing happen.
It was crazy.
It was crazy.
Remember being late for school?
Because, yeah, I remember standing around the TV on the way to,
Intermediate, I think I remember an intermediate uniform
And then going, what the heck is
going on there? It was my first time I've ever
seen my mum do the ironing in
the lounge where she like put the ironine
stand in front of the TV. I remember that
being, for some reason, that was when I
realized something was really big was happening. Because I
was much younger than you boys. It was five years
younger, Clint. Yeah, she was
you at kindergarten. Oh, just a
kindergarten. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Could have it was an intermediate, you were at kindergarten.
Do you know the crazy thing is if you try and get a
Australian visa, just
to go and visit Australia. I mean, sorry,
on holiday.
Now they require your social media handles.
Is that real?
Yeah, they need your social media,
whether it be your TikTok,
your Instagram and or Facebook,
so they can go through the type of person you are
because they're still,
and they are still asking questions.
They say since 2000, was it one?
September 11th?
Yeah, and they've got these questions.
It's still that have happened since then,
that they still ask you to get a visa.
Have you, are you going to America as soon?
Is that way you know that?
Yeah.
So that's true.
That's like prove,
like you had to give your handles.
I had to give my handle.
They're going to be like,
oh, he's cringe.
So like,
you did this really cringe
TikTok back in 2017
with your son.
What's going on there,
Mr. Randall?
That was a bait boast.
That was a pay post.
You're not going to do any of that
in America, are you?
Yeah.
Yeah, I don't know
what sort of AI filter
they run across your social media
and make sure you haven't got
any sort of hate speech
or if you're, I don't know.
But then I guess can
just say no
and turn down your visa
so you can't come in
to the country and have a holiday.
Yeah, I've got to watch what you say about places now.
Yeah, I mean, I think that happened with the guy from Peking Duck, Adam and his girlfriend.
Yeah, Abby.
Abby.
He wasn't allowed to do, I think, some shows because of...
Oh, because of...
Abby, because of...
Abby said what was saying online.
Oh, fair enough.
Yeah.
So she wasn't allowed in, so then he didn't go through, I think, or whatever.
She ended up going online and apologising for some things and didn't realize that shit that you said on the internet from 10 years ago could still come around and bite you on the eggs.
Well, you got to think about that now, Clint.
Yeah.
Donald Trump is especially.
He doesn't like people making jokes about him
Even if you are a comedian
It should inspire us to bring back me going back
Through your Facebook page
It's my favourite thing to do it
Never do that
No mostly just Clintz
Clint's so shocking
It was just like one line of gags on his Facebook
So no Meg used to find Facebook
Status updates
And we played whose status was it
And so Meg would go right
From 2015
And she'd read out of status
And then you'd almost
A lot of the time you would know
It was you and other times you go
No there's no way I did that
Meg would go yes you did
Have you ever feeling really good about yourself and think you're nailing life?
Go back on your Facebook from 2007 and have a look at what you're saying then
and that'll bring you back down to Worth.
Good humbling.
Two different people.
Hey, two different people.
Oh, you were for sure.
I think that deep, that Clint Randall's deep inside you still.
He's somewhere in there.
Deep deep.
Yeah.
I can go and have a look if you want.
Maybe.
I'm joking.
Clint McGon Dan.
Edge Breakfast.
The Edge.
Strap yourselves in.
If you are a parent, this might give you a little bit of PTSD.
Maybe these things are becoming kind of like, you know, when we started doing
celebrity lookalikes and then the internet got obsessed with them and they were popping up
everywhere. We did our own with Jason Mamor.
There's a Harry, Harry Stiles one wasn't there?
Yeah, we got quite a few real good Jason Mamor lookalikes that came out.
Well, maybe doing callings for different things is becoming a thing.
Maybe we can have a thing about what kind of call we do.
Attawas, best uptois maybe.
That could be good.
That's an idea.
This was the chicken calling competition that we played on Friday.
Now they have a mum calling competition.
I'm going to play you three.
You tell me who you thought was crowned the champion.
Are they trying to be annoying?
Yeah, I think so.
Right, okay, so that one's pretty good.
Mom, when's dinner ready?
Mom, don't make me call Grandma.
That one's trying to be funny.
It's not good, though.
Mom, can you take...
It was between one and three for me.
They're all really horrible.
Yeah, I would say...
My favorite was one.
Oh, you're, okay.
It's four.
No, that was just annoying.
It's one or three still.
My favorite was one.
I'm going to say three, one though.
Who needs condoms for contraception?
Just play that.
Nightmare.
I instantly don't want any more kids.
You're wrong.
It was actually the last one.
Mommy.
Oh, yeah, she's annoying.
They threw the state fair shout out in and I think the judges were swayed.
Yeah, they're like, well, it's hard.
She's good.
Oh, wow.
I mention the fear and everything.
Oh, they make a competition out of anything these days,
especially in America.
If you noticed that?
Like they just love a competition.
Prodisco, what was the cash prize?
Because the chicken calling confuums on Friday was a crisp.
A $5 note.
Yeah, this was the same as just the fiver for the kids.
You know, whoever won.
I reckon in New Zealand we could do a bro calling competition.
Like, that's very cute.
It's like, right, bro!
Or a year-n-na?
Bro! Yeah.
Yeah, nah.
Or an oi?
I love an oi.
I don't minding up the waza, though, with how well the waz are going with only two weeks away from the grand final.
On the table.
Give us your best mega.
Hot the wars!
a little bit of an H at the start. I've been practiced
then. What do you think? Give it again? No, I've
already done it. One more time. No.
You do it. No. No. Be a good girl.
No, I've already done it.
Nauty girl.
I could never beat at Miggs. H. H. Hot the
Yeah, so you're jacking the H on the front there as well.
Well, Clint, you're the major fan. Go on.
No.
Oh, he's a naughty boy. He's a naughty boy.
Not a real fan. Yeah, I am a naughty boy.
Why wouldn't you do it? Do it up the way.
Thanks, Anne.
Are you doing up the wise?
We did have a one.
You mocked Meg's one.
You didn't do your one.
I'm going to do an up the wise.
Up the wars!
You were not going to do what I was.
You'd feel silly when you say it in silence
with no one else around and no one playing the game.
Listen live weekdays from Sex on Rover and Catch Up Wherever.
This is Clint Meg and Dan.
Clint Meg and Dan's scandal.
Nearly a year after Sarah Larson and Pink Panther has released their stateside remix,
they finally suck it together live.
Kind of shows.
It's been a year.
I feel like I needed to practice.
It was during their London's All Points East Festival.
And Zara brought out pink
saying you guys are watching her story making,
being mad right now.
Yeah.
What the worst ever performance.
And Kevin...
The worst performance done this year live.
Kevin Reddy is a man that lives in Detroit.
He's usually at the Saki and Sushi Bar
on Wednesday karaoke nights.
And he was there.
about to sing Ed Sharon's thinking out loud on his weekly karaoke spot when he heard
that apparently Ed Sharon was at the Japanese restaurant just downstairs
and so he went down there and shot and ended up singing karaoke with Ed.
Oh, he's such a good bugger for that.
As an A.
He's a man.
People falling in love in mysterious ways.
Maybe just the touch.
Let it do most of the heavy love thing
We are full in love with you every single day
It's so confusing
Even it sounds crap of karaoke
The incher was like, mate, I just wanted to have a bento bowl in peace
You know, like, come on.
He's got his wife there
Apparently they just chatted for 20 minutes
And then Kevin was like, you want to do it?
Well, they're such good sports
They are really
He's one person, he needs to say no more
Hey, he does.
Your favourite radio show?
Edge Breakfast, Clint Megan Dan.
Edge.
First call of the day.
Oh, Shantel's called on 0-800 of the edge.
She's been busy all over the weekend.
And Dan, you have to take her because my phone's down.
Morning, Chantelle.
Good morning.
Good morning. I'm back at the time.
May.
Morning.
So you're about, oh, you're at the airport right now, about to fly to Hamilton.
Yeah, that's the one.
Oh, my gosh.
Well, that things last week.
You're the person that's always on the plane.
Yeah, I'm on the plane.
Yeah, but this time I'm not on the plane physically.
Yeah, we spoke to you recently and you were sitting on the plane.
They were taking off and you were still talking.
Oh, Meg was getting anxious.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, very much.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
The one where I'm going to my neck.
So how often do you fly to Hamilton?
Every Monday and Tuesday.
Yeah.
Well, I fly there on Monday, the night and come back on the Tuesday.
So it's been doing three hours.
It's meant to be three months.
It'd be easy for you to have an affair.
It would be.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's Hamilton.
Oh, yeah.
That's not out.
Oh, not that you're looking, I suppose.
It must be some good-looking blokes in the Tron.
Yeah.
What do you do?
Why, you're an insurance broker for a memory, aren't you?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I've been helping out there for the last year.
It's been great.
I've actually really enjoyed on time, but
going to watch a couple weeks ago, being life spec and going to again.
So, looking forward to not getting up at all of us 20.
on a Monday morning.
That's us.
And are you married, loved up, single?
Yep, I'm married, live in our huts, got two little...
Lower Hurtz.
Oh, that's not much better than Hamilton.
You're throwing shade at Hamilton, Shantelle.
Pats up, you're living in the dream, living in Lower Hutt.
Beautiful place.
Yeah, yeah, it's not too bad.
As of the moment.
I love it.
We have spoken at Nauseum about Lower Hutt and Upper Hutt, Chantelle, in your opinion,
what is better to the upper or the lower hut?
She's been in Lower Hutt.
Exactly.
Yes, of course it is.
I tell you every time lower hut is like just extremely better.
Which one has the cinema?
Sorry, Lower Hut has a new cinema too now.
Thank you.
Yeah, I think it's just too.
Yeah.
No, I've heard Upper Huts nicer because they look down on Lower Hutt.
They have Brewtown.
They have Brutown, which is they're quite nice.
They definitely have that on us.
Yeah, they do have that.
Okay, so if we got to take anything from Upper and have it in Lower Hutschowt out, that'd be it?
Brutown.
We take Brutown.
Yeah, but apart from that, it's a bit of a shithole.
Is that what you're saying?
Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
Sad to our bar.
I love it.
Technically, I'm an Eastbourne, so that's the nicest side of low-hite.
She's in the good side of low-hite.
She's in the good side of low-hawk.
No one, you love it.
Shantelle, paddock to pantry is a family-run online supermarket
that is delivering cheaper groceries, New Zealand-wide.
So we'll send you a $50 paddock to pantry voucher that you can spend
when you're back in Lower Hart.
Thank you for much.
God.
The fact they deliver to Lower Hut makes me think that they
delivering everywhere.
Lowell is the jewel of
New Zealand. Is it? I've never
heard that before. Really? Yeah, it used to
me. Yeah, so I appreciate
Paddock Pantry getting on board this week.
Giving us some supermarket vouchers to give
away. That's really nice. Yeah, coming
up next, Dan's rehearsal. How has that been going? Because
tonight is the night. Dan's hit the spot attempt
in front of Alex Warren. Oh, yeah,
no, I have not practiced very much at all.
What do you mean? I've been thinking this morning. I got up this one
I thought Dan would have practiced a weekend.
Oh, then yes.
Right, okay.
Do a dry run, next.
This is the Clint Meg and Dan catch up.
Want to hear the guys off air in a little looser?
Listen and watch their Overtinkers podcast.
Hit it.
Hit it.
Yeah, we're going backstage.
Not often you get to go backstage to interview an artist.
Yeah, not often you get them to try and sing before their show either.
No.
Because a lot of the time, they're like, they don't want to, they're on vocal rest
because they don't want to sing, ruin their voice.
So we're going to be thrusting upon it, Alex Warren, tonight, to help me with a hit the spot.
Hopefully he does half and I do half and then we come in together at the end.
Okay.
That's what I'm hoping.
Finish together.
Yeah.
It's the best way.
So let's just see if I've got the timing right so then I can kind of lead him in his own song.
Also, if you are heading along to Alex Warren tonight in Auckland, a winyard pavilion is where we are doing our VIP preys.
If you want a few pre-drinks beforehand, 430 till 7.
That's going to be happening.
And also there will be a double pass to Alex Warren.
up for grabs as well with the edge lockbox.
So go for pre-drinks,
he might end up scoring yourself a free ticket.
Yeah, if you missed out on a ticket,
you could head along to the drinks and hopefully get one.
All right, so let's do it.
We're going to do the bit at the end of the song.
I guess it's the bridge going into the chorus again.
Yeah, of that passenger song we just played.
Yeah, passenger.
It's just like probably his latest big single, isn't it?
So hopefully he wants to do it.
Let's do it.
If Dan doesn't smash this, remember, this is a practice.
There's just a gauge to see where we're at.
Yeah, we'll see how it goes.
If you get it, do you want me to see it?
Celebrate.
Yep.
Okay.
I'll put my heart out on a silver plate.
I would die for you, by the way.
Not that you would mind, but a try.
A try.
A try.
A try.
Hey.
Almost.
Yeah, I think we went with Alex.
If it's there, it's there, it's there.
It's there.
Yeah, yeah.
So I think I'll do the first.
the first and second line, then he can bring us home.
You let him have all the glory, don't you?
So he's going to do the try bits.
You give him the failure as well if it's not on.
Yeah, especially if you've set him up in the wrong.
That's my thinking, Clint.
Either way, he either looks great or he looks terrible.
And I sort of am just backstop.
Okay, so which part are you doing?
Okay, I might do this bit.
I put my heart out on a silver plate.
Okay.
I would die for you, by the way.
then Alex does the rest.
And then...
I think he's doing this.
I think you're going to come out.
A try.
And then together.
A try.
So it's an easier one.
Okay, go.
It's a little bit easier
than some of the ones
who have done.
Yeah.
Guy Sebastian did one.
He's done to hit the spot.
Absolutely nailed his.
Yeah.
You've also done...
It wasn't a hit the spot,
but you did a catch-up
with Teddy Swims after a gig
and he did a postcode playlist for Nelson.
Yeah.
So what you're trying to say,
if Alex Warren doesn't want to do it,
he looks like an idiot.
Yeah, yeah.
that we're saying.
Also, mate, Guy Sebastian and Teddy Swims.
Shock and not asking.
Shocker and not asking.
Well, of course I have to ask.
It's weird if I don't.
I'm happy to do it.
Otherwise we're going to be the president.
I might hear what's to see with you.
Why are you coming then?
What are you doing?
Good question.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Good question.
Daniaeux and saying it was slightly out of Dan, so if you could work on that.
Yeah, it was, Dan.
Thanks for pointing that out.
I always trust you.
Besty Besty, Olivia Dean edition
The lines are open now for a couple minutes.
Call 0800 The Edge to get you and three of your besties
on our standby list to see Olivia Dean live in Auckland.
You're thinking what I'm thinking, eh?
Shosh, cow.
Was that Meg?
The first screaming.
It sounds like Meg.
Can you replay it just the screaming bit at the start?
Bestie Bestie.
The first and the third are you.
That's you.
One of the three of the replaying.
Let's get to the bottom of that.
Can we talk to audio guy great?
Scream for us quickly
Charlotte's the first time caller
You're in the drawer
Congrats
Hello
Thank you so much
Did you attempt to get ticket Charlotte?
Yes I did
But no luck
Because everyone else I think in New Zealand was trying
Yeah
So if you do end up winning
Give us your best scream
Yeah yeah yeah
Give us your best scream
If I get in
Yeah
Um, woohoo.
Terrible.
That's better than mix.
It's shocking.
Good luck to you.
Nikki, you're also in the draw.
You and three mates to see Olivia Dean.
Yay.
Amazing.
Thank you.
No worries.
Make sure 7th of September, it's a Monday,
you answer that unknown number if that happens
because that could be us saying that you and three mates are going for free.
Bree, you're in the drawer.
Oh my gosh, no way.
Yeah.
Thank you so much.
You're welcome.
You give us a number.
You give us a number.
Oh, there's a scream.
Good, nice.
Nice to done, nice to done.
They're asking girls for screams.
Yeah.
Feels inappropriate on somebody.
It's a bit weird.
Why do you ask Peter?
Ask Peter for a scream.
Okay, give you guys your best scream, Peter.
Shocker.
Thank you, Peter.
That sounds painful.
That's all we need.
It sounds painful.
You're in the drawer, mate.
Pete's in the drawer.
That's all we needed.
I don't need any more questions.
Jessica, you're in the drawer as well.
Let's run through them.
Good luck.
Yay.
Nice.
Georgia, you're on the drawer.
Woo, thanks so much.
Give us a proper scream, Georgia.
Yeah, they're not bad.
A lot of people getting ready for their mornings.
Mal from Christchurch.
She's also in the drawer.
That'd be an epic prize to win for you in Christchurch.
Woo-hoo.
Yeah, because you got your flights all the way from the south.
Yeah, true.
With the Airbnb, you and three of your girlfriends, Mel.
How good.
Oh, look at that, a couple of first-time callers, Ella.
Also in the drawer.
First-time caller.
Oh, my God, thank you.
Yay.
So welcome.
Don't be a stranger, Ella.
So exciting.
Send us out with a massive screen.
Come on, Ella.
Yeah.
Not as good as Peters.
Thanks, Ella.
You're in the drawer, sweetie.
Okay.
Sorry, I don't know why I've got her sweetie.
You're in the drawer.
You're in the drawer, sweetie.
Where did that come from?
I mean, if Ella is 22, I think it's okay.
Let's go back.
How old is Ella?
Can we talk to Ella just quickly?
I think if she's at least 10 years younger than you.
How old are you?
23?
Yeah.
Oh, no, it's still 10 years younger than you.
I think she's allowed to, yeah, you're like to call her sweetie.
You're lucky me, Glocker.
Ooh.
Just a bullet there, but sweetie.
All right.
Easy money is next.
We've got a thousand bucks on the line.
If you can give us 10 answers in 30 seconds this morning,
starting with the letter T.
Easy money.
Time for your favorite game.
Easy money.
There we go, thousand bucks on the line.
Give us 10 answers.
Starting this morning with the letter T,
in 30 seconds, we'll give you a thousand bucks.
You can pass.
If we've got time, we'll come back.
You just can't give the same answer twice.
Okay, playing this morning is...
Vanessa.
Hi, Vanessa.
Hi, how are you?
Good.
So, Tiaoamutu this morning, lovely.
Yes, yes.
All right.
All right, how do you normally go when playing along
when everyone else is giving it a crack?
Yeah, okay, but I'm that person that, you know,
If you get stuck on one, it's kind of like, yeah, that's it.
Yeah. Vanessa, not filling us with confidence, but...
No, no, you can do it, Vanessa.
The letter is T.
Good luck.
Meg's got your list.
Your time will start at the end of your meher asking you your first question.
All right, Vanessa, give me one in the five senses.
Feeling.
Oh, starting with tea.
Okay.
We'll start again.
We'll start again.
Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, okay.
Everything must start with tea.
Here we go.
Here we are.
Here we go.
One of the five senses.
Talking.
A herbal spice.
We're going to stop you there, Vanessa.
Like touch taste.
Vanessa.
Touch taste sight.
Yeah, the other one, smell.
Obviously that's not with tea.
So touch and taste are the only two.
Should we start again?
Start again.
Okay.
So just say touch and then we'll keep going.
Okay, here we go.
One of the five senses.
A herbal spice.
Time.
A musician.
Taylor Swift.
An animal.
Pig.
All right, well stop me there.
So that was a letter,
the pigeon.
Did she say pigeon?
Pig.
She said pig.
Yeah, for a letter tea.
Vanessa.
Hey Vanessa.
What day is it today?
It is Monday.
And the trouble is I've written down
like the teas and then
for 8 o'clock,
It should be P.
Yeah.
8 o'clock it's P, yeah.
So you need to call it 8.
So what you've done there is written down the wrong letter.
Okay.
I know.
Have a great morning.
You've given me a good laugh.
It's the first time on the edge.
Oh, I'm giving another.
Darling.
Oh, Vanessa is never calling ever again.
No, don't let this be such a sore point that you think, God, I'm not doing that.
You've made my morning if that helps.
You know what, Vanessa, even though it was really shocking, you've won our hearts.
You really have.
Thanks, Vanessa.
Hey, I love you guys.
Thank you, Vanessa.
Love you, Vanessa.
Isn't she lovely?
Yeah.
Terrible.
That was the worst one with me.
Give us an animal with tea, pig.
Get your Clint Meggin' Dan facts.
The edge.
It's Clint Megan Dan's.
And let's settle this.
Let's settle this right now.
Contentious question in the Webe household over the weekend.
My gorgeous wife, Hannah.
Gorgeous.
went to Australia last week for a work trip
back and there and back in two days
so it was a very quick trip
and on the way there and on the way back
Hannah when she got back she was complaining
that the person in front of her both flights
pushed their seat back
scum bag
oh would you mean that's fine internationally
scum bag
if it's domestic now you're a scumbag
I am on Meg's side here
because she was like
the scum of the earth she was talking about them
like they were like gutter trash.
People that put their seat back on a plane,
according to my wife, she was like, I can't stand them.
Just keep your seat up, especially on a three-hour flight to Australia.
I was like, you've paid for that flight, you've paid for that seat.
The person behind you can also put their seat back.
But then they have to be a scumbag because you'll be in a scumbag.
But if everybody just put their seat back, it'd be fine.
Do you know what?
I would be, I'm a little annoyed at the airline.
Yeah.
Because I feel like the seat should only go back about two or three inches.
Like just enough where I'm not going to be.
wearing my knees around my face once you put your seat into full recline.
I think it goes back too far.
I completely agree.
If you're sitting up straight and they've gone backwards, you've got no space whatsoever.
But here's the thing.
The option is there.
And so I think we need to have a full blanket rule because it's not up to the airline, is it?
They don't go, you have to put your seat back or you have to keep it up.
So I think everybody should cooperate, do the same thing.
Are we keeping the seat up?
or we all pushing back.
It's a good point that Meg makes.
How long is the trip before we're all open season and you just go, whatever.
Three hours is absolute max.
If it's over three hours, you can do what you want with your seat, surely, right?
Anything like Sydney, FG, three, three and a half hours?
No.
No, I don't think so.
Put it this way.
International.
I am one of those people that I won't put it back unless I want to have a sleep.
But if the person in front of me puts their seat back, I'm straight back as well.
Yeah.
Because I need the room.
I'm a tall individual.
Do you know what I do?
I push that button and then I spend the next 10 minutes just moving it so
unbelievably slow.
But the time I got it four inches back, they're like, when did that happen?
You can either do it as well when they go to the toilet.
So you wait until they've gone off to the toilet, then push it back.
Surely nobody is doing it on a domestic in New Zealand.
The longest flight is an hour.
I don't think you can on domestic flights.
Oh, can you?
I don't think the seats are locked.
All the ones that I've been on, I have.
So yeah, what are we doing?
What are we doing?
I am of the ilk.
You've paid for the seat.
You can do what you want with it.
Who cares what the person behind you think.
Or is it, hey, excuse me, mate.
You wouldn't mind if I just put my seat back of it, would you?
Now you're giving them the option.
Now, most people, because they don't want the smoke and they don't like comfort.
You know, you go for it.
But then if they turn around and say, nah, I'd rather you didn't.
Well, then now you're an aho if you do it anyway.
Yeah, it sucks if you're a courteous people-pleasing person.
And the person in front of you, one of those people that's like,
I don't care. I pay for my ticket.
You know, you've got a Dan or a meek.
Have you got me in front of you, don't worry about it.
I'm not going to put my seat back if you got a Dan.
I'm as soon as the seatbelt sign goes off.
Wow.
Yeah.
If I could lay on the person's lap behind me, I would.
Take the edge off your day with Clint Meg and Dan.
It's Clint Meggin' Dan.
And let's settle this.
Let's settle this right now.
The age-old argument, do you put your seat back on a flight?
I'm of the ilk.
You just put it back.
You've paid for the same.
seat, that person behind you
can put their seat back as well, so
everybody just put your seat back.
Well, that's not necessarily true, though.
Probably depends on who's behind you.
If you've got a little kid behind you, there's plenty of room.
You've got like a large guy behind you.
He has very little room in economy as it is without you jamming your seat.
And close noticing the people.
Why should I be burdened because there's a large man behind me?
He's not my problem.
It's just being considerate, I suppose, to those around you and your surroundings
that you're sleeping next to.
I don't care about the other people behind me.
If he's large and is too big for the seat, he should have paid for a premium economy.
What if he doesn't have the money?
Well, they don't travel.
Okay.
Okay, Chelsea.
Oh, don't sit behind Dan.
Yeah, just here.
Hey, I pay for the seat just as much as he did.
Why am I burdened?
Well, if it doesn't make much difference, then surely, you can just sit up straight.
You know what?
It doesn't make much difference for the person behind you either.
Morning, Chelsea.
Good morning.
How are you doing?
Well, I'm a little bit grumpy, if I'm honest.
What are your thoughts on it?
What are your thoughts?
So it also depends on the time of day that you're travelling.
Like if it's when you should be asleep, then absolutely not to put your seat back.
But if food served, no way, keep it up right.
Yeah, true, because you don't want your tray up around your face either.
Oh yeah, of course.
I think when you're eating, it's hard to eat when you're half laying down.
But I like that.
When they put all the window shades up and then they turn the cabin lights off, then it's like, okay, it feels like we're in reclining mode.
Yeah, yeah, that makes sense.
I love it, though, when they finally do that little be-boob,
and you've got to put your shade up and sit your seats back up,
and they don't.
And then the cabin lady comes down and she goes, excuse me.
Yes, true, yes.
You put your damn seat back.
You know the people that complain about seats going back
are the same type of person that get on a flight
and complain about a kid crying,
and they haven't brought noise-canceling headphones.
That's not my problem.
As soon as I feel someone's seat going back,
I jam my knees up in it.
So then when they kind of push everything, oh, oh, oh, sorry.
It won't go any further, bro.
Hey, Rod.
Morning.
Hey guys, how you doing?
Yeah, good, Rod.
What are your thoughts?
Well, Dan, I am a big guy, and for that reason, I refuse to recline.
I had one person recline.
I thought, okay, it's late.
We're all very tired, so recline, have her sleep.
She woke up, didn't put the seat back up.
I'm like, come on.
Put the seat back up.
Once you wake up, you put the seat in the air.
Yeah, and you go to the bathroom, your seat's still in recline.
I think if you're recline for the whole flight, that is a bit mean.
But she should be able to put her seat back.
Rod, you can also put your seat back, so it's actually the same.
But the fact that she kept it down for the whole flight's annoying.
I'm quite tall, and when they put the seat back, I can't see the TV stream properly.
Yeah, you get the clear coming through the window.
It's just because Dan's little, he doesn't understand these things that you guys have to put it.
Hey, piss off, I'm 6-1.
Okay.
No, I'm 6.1. He's shorter than me.
He's done this before. I'm 6. Maybe.
Hi, Hayley.
Hi, how are you?
Yeah, good, Haley. He worked up.
No.
I put my...
seat back straight away because I travel
with an under two-year-old.
Oh yeah, you definitely. That's a ticket to free do that.
Yeah, definitely.
Surely nobody would be saying anything to that as well.
It's having that two-year-old.
You've been surprised.
I've had it said several times to put your feet up.
Wow.
I would say, I would jump off the plate.
I'm so sorry, I'm just going to go jump off the plane.
Excuse me, everybody. Let me just open the window.
I'm just going off the plane now.
See you later.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
There's been confrontation.
I'm involved in.
Meg and I would go to lavatories and pitch and moan about them.
Someone's text through saying Dan's got the personality of someone that would only
made it to business class.
I can't afford business class.
Dan has a business class attitude with an economy budget.
You do love a premium economy though.
Emma said my partner's a large man.
He definitely would call you out if you put your seat back.
Dan, I feel like you wouldn't fight back.
No, I wouldn't.
I just let him get angry and get kicked off the plane.
You'd jump out with Meg.
Yeah, then I'd definitely put my seat back.
Be like, Meg, I'm coming with you.
Then breakfast hits harder with Clint McGinn.
It was a bloody great weekend for sport.
If you're a Kiwi fan, up the wars as well.
We need to cover off what went down.
Even last night's game that absolutely did the Tigers are the Warriors' best fans this morning.
So we're at the top of the table now, aren't we?
Thanks to the Tigers doing us a bit of a solid last night.
And one player in particular we want to focus on who went above and beyond to show that he is a team player.
You know when you get an injury and you just play on through it?
But this one was next level.
Sorry, no, I said, mm-hmm.
Hey, you did the radio show with a sore arm once, remember?
Oh, I did, Danny.
Listen to your favourite breakfast show whenever you like.
Clint Meg and Dan.
The edge.
Time to look back at the weekend of sports.
Big weekend of sport.
Huge.
Meg, do you want to go first?
Sure, I will do that.
The Blackburns just kicked us over the weekend, did they not?
Is Ellen all beat it into touch.
and a big, big win and an impressive performance.
The O'Reilly Cup well and truly locked away.
I mean, it was an incredible score.
I think probably the biggest rashing of the weekend, wasn't it?
Yeah, they're amazing.
We had a couple of games.
We had a couple of games.
They just thought they were awesome and amazing.
They seemed so humble and cool.
So I'm very excited to see how well they did.
Kimi Liam Lawson doing it very well over in Zandvoort in Hungary.
I'm not hungry.
Where is it?
The Dutch Grand Prix.
Are you just hungry?
Yeah, I'm hungry for a burger.
And very well.
Two races, there was a sprint race where he came 11th,
and then the main race, which was overnight last night,
seventh for Red Bull racing in the main team.
So an incredible result.
Max Verstappen crashed out.
He was the fastest of all the Red Bull drivers.
I think it just hammers home that he is,
like deserves that seat.
And a lot of people said he didn't.
I saw a thing, was it?
Maybe you shared it with me, Dan,
about all the salaries, whether it's true of the drivers.
In Formula One,
Max Verstappen at the top end at 70 million
And Liam Lawson down the bottom with 1 million
Yeah which is still an incredible salary
But 70 million and that's not including bonuses for wins
And sponsorship deals
So sponsorships will be a big one too
Max for Stappen's well over 100 million
Wow
Incredible, how old is he?
Still in his 20s
Yeah late 20s
Oh late 20s
And the wise one but it didn't come without
It's cons
WOMBORS win by 19
The World
The first time in the latter.
So the epic thing about this one was
we are tied with the pener of Panthers on points,
so then it goes down to points differential,
how many points you've scored versus how many have been scored against you.
And so Luke Hanson hits a drop goal right at the end of the game,
which put us one point above the Panthers and points differential.
So out of 294 points this season, the Panthers have scored,
we've scored 295.
That's incredible.
So that's like, thank God for Luke Hansen.
Yeah, he just.
Chuck the little cheeky drop going, just put us top of the table.
Tigers did us a solid last night beating the roosters.
So if the Warriors win their next two games,
we could finish the league, top of the table, minor premiers,
with two home semifinals at Go Media Stadium.
In fact, we may be able to play at home for the next six weeks
before we have to jump on a plane and go back to Australia.
I heard that 25% of the final tickets are sold to Warriors fans,
which is like more that they've ever had in the past,
and the ticket's like $1,800 or something crazy.
Well, here's the thing.
We've won the America's Cup.
We've won the Rugby World Cup.
We've won multiple other World Cup
around in other sports.
Where do you think this will rank?
If the Warriors win this year,
the premiership, where will that rank
in terms of sporting
great results?
You definitely remember where you are
when it happened.
It's been 31 years
since the Warriors were a club
in 95.
We've never done it.
You were born in 95.
Shut up.
Clips in his 20s.
Now here's the
Unfortunately thing is that obviously
we've lost a few players over the last few weeks
and our winger, Dalin Wattinawetianza Lesniak
has been playing so well
and at one point during the game, this is video was going around
he's holding his shoulder and his chest
and he starts to walk off the field
and he looks at the guy and goes, yeah, I'm done.
He actually steps off the field
but before his replacement comes on
the ball goes up
starts getting spun out to the wing
Dallon realize he's needed
he runs back onto the field
ends up catching the pass
and scores a try with his
wrong hand and this is why.
Yeah, man he's broken his collarbone.
He tried to get him off and then he was about to come off
but then he turned and chased for that pass
and he got the pass and he scored the try
and he put it in his left hand or not his right.
He'd never scored a try with his left hand ever.
Well, extremely brave.
I just thought it was inspirational
what he did last night.
So he ended up scoring a try
and then rolling onto his broken collarbone
to put the Warriors back in front.
Loddy how that's dedication, isn't it?
Although not at quite as much as the
maybe he's friends,
if she one time did the Kiwi
triathlon on a broken foot and still won.
Oh, really?
Oh, yeah.
I don't think her mum believed her that
the foot was broken
so she had to continue to do it.
It was like, cross country or something.
She wanted it though.
I do like that as a phono.
What'd you do on a broken bone?
Knowingly or unknowingly?
Yeah.
Especially if you're a kid,
your mum's like, you'll be fine.
You'll be fine.
Or just an injury.
I mean, we'll remember Buck Shelford
in his testicle situation
during the All Blacks game.
That's right.
That is crazy.
Whether you knew it or not,
I feel like Kiwi's very much so like to
about, oh, I did that with this.
So, yeah, tough nuts.
Yeah, okay. All right.
Tough Kiwi.
It doesn't have to literally be a tough nut.
No, not.
Well, that's just the buckshall.
Yeah, tough league.
Okay, I'll wait under the Edge of Forest text 334th Street.
You've got a story and you can relate.
And you're like DWZ, who hopefully is going to get surgery very soon and bounce back.
Edge breakfast, Clint McGinn Dan.
What did you do unknowingly or knowingly on a broken bone or injury after the Waz?
Warriors win by 19.
The Waz are.
First time the ladder.
Yeah.
Top of the ladder with two games to go.
Unfortunately, it came at the expense of losing DWZ on the wing.
Yeah, man, he's broken his collarbone.
We tried to get him off, and then he was about to come off,
but then he was about to come off, but then he turned and chased for that pass,
and he got the pass, and he scored the try, and he put it in his left end,
or not his right.
He'd never scored a try of his left end, ever.
Well, extremely brave.
And I just thought it was inspirational what he did last on.
If you've ever brought your collarbone for it, it's painful to put a t-shirt on,
let alone score a try in the corner and then turn it into a forward roll.
Do they do player of the day in the NRL?
Because he should have got it.
Yeah.
He should have got the ribbon.
He definitely should have.
Yeah, and the free pizza at pizza art.
That's what I used to get.
In the kids football these days,
is a McDonald's voucher.
Is that?
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
Someone said they had two swollen wrists after running into a wall.
They kept with them for a week.
Then when they got an x-ray, two broken wrists, it turned out.
For a week.
For a week.
Parents kept saying, oh, it'll be fine.
Walk it off.
Yeah.
All right.
Rach.
Hi, Rachel.
Hi, how are you?
Good.
You're good, Rachel.
What did you do with a broken bone?
So I think I was year 10, and I used to do some horse riding, which my parents didn't like.
And I went over to talk of a horse and knew pretty quickly something wasn't right,
but really didn't want to tell them that I was injured because I think it was the last straw after I'd already broken a rib.
So I kind of tried to play it off that it was just a muscle strain and was putting muscle cream on it.
We went on the Otago Rail Trail trip.
biking was fine because I didn't actually put weight into it,
but it was the walking around at nighttime that got me.
So after the rail trail got home,
Mom finally took me to the hospital and they said I'd cracked my hip.
So gave me crutches and sent me on my way.
Cracked hip?
How long's the Otago Trail that you did with a cracked hip?
I feel like I blocked it all the way.
It was definitely like a week or a week of cycling on a broken hip.
Man, Rachel.
insane.
You are incredible.
And to punish you, do they put your horse down?
No, luckily it wasn't mine, but they found it funny that I played it off for that long.
Yeah.
Don't get into horse riding.
My wife does it.
Expensive.
Expensive.
Hey Joe, what did you do on an injury?
Hey Joe.
Oh, I was sorry.
Your daughter did something and pushed on through.
Hopefully you were one of those supportive mums and not, though, it's not broken.
I was.
She was playing dodgeball at school the week before her gymnasties competition,
and she broke her finger.
And I said, don't do your gym come this weekend,
but she's so determined.
She was like, nope, I'm doing it.
So she did a full bar routine.
There was a lot of ice spray involved afterwards.
A full bar routine with a broken finger.
I mean, it's not up there with a broken hip, though, is it?
You know, a broken finger, a broken hip.
It still would still be very painful, wouldn't it?
God, isn't Dodgeball in a rough sport?
Why are we still playing that at schools?
They have it at the trampoline parks too.
Yes, they do. That's scary.
And there's always some adult who's obviously just, I don't know,
has no friends, or he's got like a four-year-old and mum's looking after him.
And he's just there just like raining balls at like 12-year-old kids.
And just like living his best life.
And I'm just like, what are you up to, bro?
Full more.
Would you say, Carl?
I apologise to all the parents for that, but it was so much fun.
You need to stop going to the trampoline park.
parks by yourself. It's the only way I can win.
All right, we have the results of the I'm single
hat next that Meg forced our producer Brady to wear all
weekend. We had Raya on who ended up making the I'm single hat go viral.
Yeah, and we got Brady, the only single person on the show, to wear it
for a full nearly 72 hours. Did we get any results of
a young man wearing it versus a young woman?
Yeah, does it work? If you're looking to pick up,
doesn't I'm single hat work? We're about to find out next on the edge.
The Edge is the home of Clint Megan Dan
We had Ryan on the show on Friday
He's had a lot of success with a hat that just says
I'm single
She got embroidered herself
But now she does sell them
She does you can text the word
Hat to 3343 and also gillard
Makes sense?
I think it's cheaper just to get one embroidered yourself
So I mean she's charging about 70 bucks
Nah
Is she?
I think so it works out to be about that
Once you get shipping and stuff
Just go buy a blank hat and put on
Oh sorry
Okay well this is the success
that Raya had with the I'm single hat.
Success rate, I will say I've had around 25 conversations in the past six months.
So that is one conversation per week.
I think that's pretty good.
And then around six, seven dates out of it.
Okay, six, seven.
I know.
The kids go mental way listening to that right now.
A couple of second dates, but then she moved the country,
so she wasn't able to go back again.
Now I gave I producer Brady a hat.
He is single, and he's single.
the only single person on the show
so he had to do the experiment.
It's a travesty, isn't it?
Look at the guy.
He's got everything going for him.
He's good-looking.
He's smart.
He's very enthusiastic.
Yeah, and Brady has said to us before
that he's not very extroverted out and about.
So was this the thing that he needed
to break that ice?
Well, this is how it went for him over the weekend.
Just taking the hat for its first spin.
Went to the gym.
Got a few looks, but zero interaction.
So we'll see how the rest of the weekend goes.
Okay.
Not a good start.
but still lots of looks.
Went to the pub last night,
New Market with the hat.
It was decently busy.
Zero comments.
I'm starting to think this shit's a hoax.
Okay.
When girls do come up to you, Brady, just a question.
Do you talk like that to them?
Like if they go, oh, you're a nice looking girl.
I'm stuck in one tone, Dan, so yeah.
Yeah, okay, so that's all, yeah.
He's out of eel.
Maybe, okay, that was only day, day one, basically.
Yeah, that was day to nothing.
Yeah, there was still hope.
Still hope.
Went and did my grocery.
at countdown and I feel like
so many more people just like looking at me
and when I was at the checkout
the lady looked at my hat and smiled
but she was like 40 so
no luck yet and still not
didn't ask your number 40 what are you saying that's old
okay shivers he went to the zoo
he only went to one other place
surely this is the one
went to Auckland zoo with the hat today
and still got like no interactions
but this cute group of girls
did look at me and they
said, oh my God, he's single.
So, who knows?
We got people knowing he was single, not wanting to date him, but still...
Does that count of someone going, oh my God, he's single?
I don't think it did, eh, because it sounded real, like, sarcastic and like they were taking
the piss out of me, so...
Oh, that's so they were going like, oh my God, he's single.
Okay, well, I don't know if Meg wants the hat back, so is it something you think you'll
persist with, or you kind of over it?
I think maybe we could add it to the collection, and...
depends on the day, could wear it.
But yeah, I don't know.
I think Sam, producer Sam from the drive show,
said she wanted to give it a spin.
So we'll see.
The travelling hat.
Well, let's see if it works for women.
Maybe it's just a woman thing.
And then maybe after Sam's had it,
we could give it out to the listeners.
You know, it could be like a...
I'll have a fly spray for knits or anything.
Yeah.
Fly spray?
I don't think that's what you use for...
That doesn't kill nuts, babe.
Yeah, yeah.
Maybe you've got to wear the hat until it works.
And then once it works, you pass it on.
so it's got 100% success rate.
You're poor children if you're putting fly spray on their heads.
They haven't had this.
So I don't know.
Clint, what do I do?
You don't spray the head with fly spray.
A bit of a way.
I know that much.
All right, what is your fail safe go-to move?
It's probably not wearing a hat that says I'm single.
But do you have a move that you do where you go, mate, try this, Brady.
That'll work for you.
Works for me every time.
Are you one of those people that has the bananas facing up?
Oh, nobody does that.
Surely.
At the supermarket, you know?
I always get confused with things.
meant to be up or down anyway.
I always sit in the sideways just in case people don't...
Oh no, that means you're gay.
That's not lying.
It's a confusing world out there, babe.
Do you have a move that I producer Brady could try
if the hat's not working?
What's yours?
Oh, eight under the edge.
Noah Kahn, the great divide, almost 8 o'clock.
We got imposter, a brand new batch of liars
for us to try and work out.
Who's telling the truth? Who's not?
8 o'clock after easy money.
Right now, though, we would love to know.
go-to-move after our producer Brady
wearing a hat that said,
I'm single across the front.
Didn't really work from all that well.
I went to Auckland Zoo with the hat today
and still got like no interactions,
but this cute group of girls
did look at me and they said,
oh my God, he's single.
So, who knows.
No, reading it.
Yeah, they read it, they saw it.
That's the equivalent of going fishing for an hour
and getting a nibble and then giving up.
I feel like you need to give the hat a bit more of a chance.
So you're going to wear it all week.
Yes.
I want you to wear it all the time.
We'll see.
And also we have producer Sam from the Ash Landon Show who's quite keen to try it out as well.
So maybe it will be the travelling hat.
I reckon she's a catch.
Yes, she's such a catch.
If that move didn't work for you, what would your go-to move?
Someone said that going on beachwalks by yourself.
The times that they've met their partners have been both on beachwalks.
So I'm guessing she's going for a beachwalk by herself.
We'll try and get her on.
And then just picking up there with other single people going on a beachwalk.
But how do you start a conversation?
when you're walking by yourself on the beach.
I mean, you and I couldn't do it me because they're not outgoing.
Best way I've got a mate who just
borrows his mate's dog
and takes it to an awfully dog park.
While they run around the dog park, owners
are just standing there in silence and inevitably
they get which one's yours.
Yeah, okay, well let's go to Caitlin.
Morning, Caitlin.
Morning, hi.
What did you go to move when you were single?
Oh, I would usually go up to
a group of guys or a guy
and ask if you had some gum or a lighter.
Ah, yeah, just, um...
That would just be like a good opener.
But don't you have to smoke?
Because if he goes, yeah, I've got a lighter,
and then you don't have a cigarette.
You have a candle on your bag.
A candle.
Well, yeah, I did smoke,
but not anymore.
Yeah, because you've got a man now.
Yes, I do.
Yeah.
Very happy.
Okay.
Hey, Caitlin as well is the famous Caitlin
that passed easy money twice.
Had time, came back,
finished off both passes, and won $10,000.
Any advice for anyone who's going to play next?
If you don't know, skip immediately.
Don't even try to think about an answer.
If it doesn't come immediately, just pass.
Okay.
Because you're the only person that's managed to pass twice and still won it.
Yeah, amazing.
She was the best to ever play it.
Otherwise, if that doesn't work, go watch the movie Hitch, producer Brady.
It's an older one with Will Smith.
He's like a dating coach.
Here's a scene from it where there's a beautiful woman talking to a bunch of guys,
and he manages to get her away with this.
Maybe.
Go get a couple coronas.
over at the pool table, please.
Thanks.
Excuse me.
Excuse me.
Lime wedges in the bottle's fine.
Hey, asshole, I don't work here.
I knew you didn't work here.
You did.
How else was I supposed to get you away from all those guys?
There we go.
Just another dated movie reference from Clinton Randall.
Let me talk to me like that.
I wouldn't like how they talk to a waitress like that.
That pissed me off.
That was Will Smith-Wittney was cool, though.
Nowadays if he did it again, he couldn't get away.
That was pre-slapped.
Yeah, it was the pre-slapped.
All right, easy money.
The letter is P.
You can give us 10 answers starting with P in 30 seconds.
We'll give you $1,000 cash in less than two minutes.
The signature move on Grindr, apparently, is you up.
That works every time.
Thanks to that.
I bet it does.
Get your Clint McGinn, Dan Fix.
Easy Money.
One letter, 10 k degrees, and just 30 seconds.
Let's play.
Easy Money.
Just got a little after 8.
Your chance to win a thousand.
If you can give us 10 answers starting with the letter P.
It is P today.
If you need to pass, you can.
If we've got time, we'll come back.
But you can't give the same answer twice.
All right.
Hey, Jess, you're ready?
You've got to have your answer quicker than that.
All right, Jess.
Okay.
Time starts at the end of Meg asking you your first question.
You're ready?
Awesome, thank you.
Okay, here we go.
Give me a colour.
Turquoise.
Oh, wow.
Oh, stop, stop, stop.
Hold on.
No, no, T was the letter at seven.
You've got P for pirate.
P for pig.
Oh, P.
Okay.
Okay, here we go.
We're going to start again.
I'm starting to think it's us.
No, I don't.
Okay, give me a colour.
Purple.
A breakfast food.
Pass.
Something you wear.
Pants.
A brand.
Puma.
A job.
Pass.
A shape.
Pentagon.
Something with feathers.
Pass
A type of nut
A type of fish
Placetopo
Yes time
Wait is they platypus
Yeah
I don't think that's a fish
No we ran out of time anyway
What is it though
I'm not a put it up for Jess here
What is a platterpush
Okay
You got through to question nine
So you are almost quick enough
But you threw I think three passes in the end
It wasn't bad
Despite your trip at the beginning
It's a monotrim for everybody that wants to know.
It's a monotrin, it lays eggs.
It's got a beak, but it's got webbed feet.
Yeah, yeah.
Sorry, Jess, thanks for playing, though, babe.
Back again at 7 o'clock and 8 o'clock tomorrow morning.
Thousand bucks on the line if you can get it done.
Imposter is next.
We've got a brand new story that three people all say belongs to them,
but of course it can only belong to one person.
The other two are impostors.
Last week, we gave the $500 to Isaac, who was an imposter.
Let's not do that again this week.
I was thinking about that all weekend.
But you know what?
He was a good storyteller.
He really was.
He was really confident.
Yeah, really confident.
All right.
Let's see what story we get next
and whether we can pick a liar.
It's the edge.
Clint Meg and Dan.
Edge Breakfast.
The edge.
One truth.
Two lies.
And $500.
We've won one and we've lost one.
Isaac fooled us last week with a brilliantly told lie
and not just asked everybody.
You know, some, well, some people thought it was somebody else, but they got outvoted.
So this week we have a brand new set of lies to go through and one truth.
Yeah, you'll hear three stories over the next few days.
One of them is telling the truth.
Two are lying, or there are the impostors.
Okay, well, which one is Max?
We're about to find out.
We've got a fresh story from him.
Max, morning, mate, what allegedly happened to you?
I once came face to face with Stanley Tucci in London
and ended up going on a while.
Two-day goose chastling for a very specific food item for him.
Oh, Max, you've actually met Stanley Tucci.
How did you meet him?
I've moved to London in like 2022 for a little bit of like an OE,
trying to set up a new life over there kind of vibe.
And I ended up being a runner on a San Pellegrino ad,
and Stanley Tucci just kind of rocks up.
Within the next like hour or so,
Stanley Tucci comes to us as like the runners and goes,
oh, I need some apple.
He requested specifically like,
farmer grown, like, organic apple.
Like, PA was like, yo, dude, okay, you go drive, find some organic apples.
I didn't have a license.
I was on my restricted, so I ended up having to go into, like, a van with a guy
who was, like, carting stuff around.
And we spent, like, overall, like, two days trying to find him these apples.
So first day couldn't find anything.
So we went to a Sainsbury's, which is basically the equivalent of a pack-and-save.
I bought the kind of cheap apples, found the nicest one.
washed off the wax
so it looked like organic and whatnot
and chucked in in his trailer
got to the end of set
the runners are all told
that we can go into his trailer
and like basically take anything
that he hasn't drunk or eaten or whatnot
and I went in
and I saw he did not touch a single apple
that I basically spent two days
carting around looking for
and Stanley Tucci
and Stanley Tucci will know the difference
he knows the difference between
Sainsbury Apple and an organic apple
Yes he would
It's Stanley Tucci
Max, can you just clarify quickly?
So what was he using the apples for?
So this is just like his equivalent of like a rider.
It was like, oh, can I get a bowl of organic apples in my trailer?
Are you Max getting other things throughout the day whilst on the hunt for apples?
Or it's just an apple hunt?
So the first day it was kind of, oh, look for some organic apples.
By the second day, it was kind of like, this is freaking Stanley Tucci
and he's asked for apples.
I've got to bloody find them.
When celebrities want something, that's what they get for their trailer.
My thing is, why wasn't that organized pre?
Like, that's the whole point of a rider.
When Stanley turns up, they're there.
Why is that being organised after he's arrived?
Well, everything else, I'm guessing, was there,
but he would have been like, I want apples,
and they said, that wasn't on his rider list.
How long was the shoot and whereabouts exactly was it?
In North London, I think it's called, like, Watford or something like that.
And when was it?
This is in 2022, so around October.
And as this advertisement, I'm looking at one now for San Periginali, Pelligino.
And described to me as,
sort of the setting.
The setting was, it's like a long kind of dinner table ask,
like a full group of friends all around.
Oh, I don't know.
That checks out.
He's either done his research.
And then it cuts to another location.
Where was the second location?
The second location.
Matt, I'm a runner on the job.
I don't know the answer down.
Time is up.
Anyway.
Oh, time is up.
He's got.
Time is up.
Thank you.
Was he there?
Or did he just Google the picture?
Zara thinks he's lying.
Yeah, she said it sounds like he's listing off facts
instead of remembering the event.
Okay, first thoughts, what do we think on Max?
3, 3, 4, 300, the edge.
Did you smell anything?
I think it's he had an answer for everything.
He did, absolutely, and quite confidently and quickly.
Yeah, for two days looking for apples.
One truth, two lies, and $500.
Over the next three days, you're going to hear three stories.
One of them is telling the truth.
The other two are lying and they're impostors.
It's our job as a nation, New Zealand, to figure out who it is.
It's telling the truth.
It's our hit rate at 50% at the moment.
We've got one right and one wrong.
We just heard from Max and his story about getting Stanley Tootchy some organic apples.
I've moved to London in like 2022.
I ended up being a runner on a sandpac.
Hellegrino ad. Stanley Tucci comes to us as like the runners and goes, oh, I need some apple.
He requested specifically like farmer grown organic apple.
Like PA was like, yo dude, you go drive, find some organic apples.
And we spent overall like two days trying to find him these apples.
It's the two days for me finding an apple.
That's unbelievable.
He says farmer grown.
Are they all grown on a farm?
What's standing on about?
What do you mean?
America might be different.
All right.
Someone's text through quickly maybe before you go to the course.
saying he was too quick to answer the questions,
which makes him think he's lying.
Oh, I thought that was, isn't that funny?
How differently we think.
I thought that meant he was telling the truth.
Like it was rehearsed, I think, what they're saying.
Oh, wow.
Well, I mean, it might be rehearsed,
because if it's true, you would have told that story
to probably anyone who likes Stanley Tucci.
True.
You'd be like, oh, I actually met him once.
Of course you would.
Okay, Zara, what are your thoughts
after hearing Max's story?
Morning, Zara?
Hi, mate.
What did you think?
lying because it just kind of
sounds like she was listing off facts
instead of like remembering an event that happened to her.
So you're thinking that he's researched it,
seen the ad, and then worked back from there
and lied about it?
Yeah, either that or he's just like
planned himself and he's like lifting off facts
and then playing it.
Maybe that's our fault. Maybe we should ask him how he felt in the moment.
What was it like being in the presence of Stanley Tucci?
Stuff that you can't just research.
Well, you know what, Zara, you wouldn't be the only person thinking that.
Most people on the text machine are saying that he's lying.
Which is interesting because he had an answer for everything, didn't he?
Yes, he did.
But people could just see through the lies.
Just a weird thing to...
Like, I mean, it has to have happened, right, to somebody.
I don't know.
The two-day Apple Hunt estranged me.
You'd give up after three hours.
What's he doing going into...
Most people.
Supermarkets are going to these, organic, and they're going, no.
And he's going, bugger.
On to the next one.
Okay, well,
this time tomorrow we'll hear from somebody else
and then maybe that'll
make Max more or less credible
based on how good they are
at lying perhaps.
We have to match it up to another story don't we?
We haven't done this one in a wee while. Is it cheating?
Dan has a very
low tolerance
for what he considers
acceptable within a relationship.
Listen live weekdays from sex on Rover
and catch up wherever. This is Clint,
Meg and Dan. The Edge.
Meg is watching it and so am I, which
trying to watch it at the same sort of pace so we can converse about it, like the old days.
There is a girl on the show named Kiara.
Now, Me, can you tell me everything that you know about Kiara for those that aren't watching?
Clint, I would love to.
Thank you so much.
Kiara is a woman who loves the finer things in life, Dan.
She has made it very clear that she likes to be wined and dined.
She will be with a person who spends a lot of money on her.
She is vegan.
And she likes to go to nice restaurants, have lots of wine and not pay for her dates.
She likes to be bought gifts and presents.
And outside of that, that's about it.
She one time had a guy spend $15,000 on her on a first day.
So she's a vegan bludger.
My worst nightmare.
She's vegan and she...
But I quite like that she's like, she's upfront about it.
She is not hiding it at all.
She's like, I like to put money to be spent on me.
Okay.
She's got two guys that are both sort of vying for her attention at the Bible.
One in one, safe to say boyfriend material, the other one, marriage material.
I would completely agree.
One is a boyfriend and one is more married.
Yeah.
And the boyfriend material guy definitely can't afford the lifestyle that she's going to be wanting.
Anyway, he thinks he's been, he's got good chair and he's being laying the groundwork for a while.
Is she attractive?
Yeah, she's beautiful.
I feel like I know it.
She's a Pilates instructor as well.
Okay.
Pilates instructor, vegan, it likes nice things.
Okay.
So now, Meg has filled you on what Meg knows about her.
He must know a lot more about it with the long extended chats that he's had with it.
He wants to propose to her.
Yeah, he wants to marry her.
So he knows her, right?
So you should be able to work out why he managed to undo all of his good work with this one comment.
So should we have some fun?
Should we do that?
Okay.
So what's your go to drink?
I love wine.
Do you like cheese?
No.
Not at all?
Not even a little bit of cheddar?
I can't eat it, can I?
Why? Lactose intolerant?
No.
Oh, why?
Vegan. Oh, what an idiot.
Yeah, I'm vegan.
Um, do you know what I like as well?
Bouchetta?
Oh my god, it's still going.
Imagine we've got some fresh sourdough bread.
It's still going.
Mozrella.
No mozzarella, please.
No, do you not?
I don't like cheese.
Like, I've never liked cheese, so...
That's almost like you said that 30 seconds ago.
I don't like cheese, Jack.
Our first argument.
God, I didn't think I could...
Like, I hate it more than the vegan.
Oh, yes. See what I mean?
It's like, come on!
He's about to propose to him.
her, Dan. He's the worst. He's the worst. She's the worst. They actually should end up together.
The other guy's marriage material, he's going to be the loser because he's going to end up with her.
Shockingly bad. Yeah, it is one of those things. It's like the barest of minimum to like remember that about the person you want to marry.
Now, do you think he's just trying to wind her up? Or is he just dumb?
No, no. He's definitely either dumb or forgotten. And then he mixes out the girls quite a lot. He forgets one of the girls' names.
I get the fact that it's abnormal. You're dating a whole bunch of people every single day.
So you're going to maybe get them confused,
but I think it's important to know who you're talking to.
And make notes if you need to make notes.
To be fair, I'm a face guy, so I'd probably be similar.
I'd be like, who am I talking to?
He keeps saying it's his ADHD, so you'd fall on that as well, wouldn't you?
I probably would, yeah, yeah, yeah.
And I don't like vegans.
We're like the same person.
So I think she's going to, well, I don't know.
I haven't got far enough to see yet, but it feels like she's pulling the pin on him
because he asked if she liked cheese.
She needs to run.
Yeah, I mean, I hope she does.
but maybe looking back you have quite a petty reason you pulled the pin.
I mean, I don't know, whether that's petty or not,
to pull the pin on someone forgetting you're vegan.
Yeah, I think that's kind of standard.
You know, when it comes to like the kind of pillars of who you are,
vegan is obviously one that means something to her.
But yeah, if we're thinking about petty reasons where you're like,
and I'm out, that's it.
That's my line.
You said right, you didn't remember I was vegan.
But I think it's deeper than that.
I think she just realized, oh, he's more about himself than it is about me.
I know a guy that broke up with the girl just because she had a shortish neck from behind.
That was you, Dan.
You did that was me, but I didn't want to come across like an arm.
Yeah, that was you.
How short was it?
He said it was tiny.
She couldn't see it from behind.
But I think it was just a normal neck.
From the front was okay.
From the front, oh, I'm probably short of the normal, but.
Okay, any reason you pulled the pin looking back and you're like, oh, what was it?
I went under the edge.
Your favorite radio show and podcast for?
Edge Breakfast.
Clint Megan Dan.
Love is Blind UK.
New season is out on Netflix if you want to get around it.
And one of the girls,
Kiara, I guess, wants to pull the pin on her time with Jack
after he forgot that she was vegan.
So should we have some fun?
Should we do that?
Okay.
So once you go to drink?
I love wine.
Do you like cheese?
No.
Not at all?
No, even a little bit of cheddar?
I can't eat it, can I?
Why? Lactose and toilet?
No.
the guy.
So anyway, she's vegan
and so she's like, right, he doesn't listen to me,
I'm out, what if the petty reason that you
decided to pull the pin or that you just
couldn't get over?
It just bugged you so much, you're like,
I'm done with this person.
Adam's text through saying, she didn't know
how to make scrambled eggs, so I broke up with her
the next day. She was also making a hot
chocolate in a pot, and she was moving
from the pot to a mug with one
spoon at a time.
She sounds clinically insane.
She might be a little bit.
Yeah.
Just tip it in.
Someone said that they started dating someone
who didn't understand all of their dated TV references
so they'd never seen friends.
That's Clint sex.
They just had nothing to like, I guess, bro down on.
Oh God, that's so you, Clint.
I ended up, I ended things because he smelled exactly like French onion soup.
It wasn't a bad odor, but it was...
It wasn't a bad odor.
Being worms.
Smelt like standing over a hot bowl.
I'd break up with them as well
I quite like that
What about this one? He lived on a busy street
His bedroom had two large windows
That faced the street, no curtains, done
Oh
Someone who referred to themselves
As third person quite often
Or Dan doesn't really like that
Dan is 34
So Dan says yes
Yeah
What are you trying to say? Did I do that?
No, no
That would just be a weird thing
Meck doesn't like that either
That's like a narcissistic trait
Is it?
Yeah
Yeah
I don't know why you do it, me.
And this person, when he was making tea,
when she was making tea, she didn't stir it.
She just clanked the spoon noisily from side to side on the cup repeatedly.
It was our second date.
Didn't go for a third.
You got that at that point, I think, for that to annoy you.
Yeah.
Someone else said that they lived across a toll bridge, their partner,
but they raised the toll to $2 for the toll bridge,
and it wasn't worth it anymore.
Yeah, if you're going the whole time.
Two bucks each way.
It's four bucks to get home.
I suppose.
Yeah.
And a couple of people have texted her as well.
Similar things where they chew too loudly.
On the first date, apparently one person went to the movies with them
and they were chewing the popcorn with their mouth open.
That for me is definitely a flag.
Because if they're doing that on the first date, what are the rank stuff?
Because you're on your best behaviour for the first, what, four dates?
Yes.
So you're right, if you start seeing cracks, date one, you're like,
and this is the best version of you.
He reminded me of Michael Scott from the office, so I broke up with him.
Ah, yes.
It's great.
It's funny because Michael Scott people or David Brent
people from the UK office
are based on very real people.
They're funny to watch in TV, not in real life.
Someone else had to break up with
someone because they had the same name as their sister.
And she liked me to shout her name
at certain times if you know what they're getting at.
Oh, yeah.
This one's mean.
She got a sweaty forehead
walking from the car to the movie.
Maybe it's a hot day.
Maybe it's a hot day.
You're like, we're done.
A sweetie tweedy.
