Starting point is 00:00:00 This is a podcast from Rover. Eadj off for your mornings with Clint Meag and Dan. Get breakfast. Good morning. Bang on 6 o'clock. Great news for Waz fans. Marty Martin. Back in news.
Starting point is 00:00:13 Thank you, Glenn. And how good? Ozzy will rip songs from their charts if too much AI is used. Excellent news. Best news I've heard a long time. What would the percentage be for you, Meg? Like 20% of the song is AI? 60%.
Starting point is 00:00:28 What's the maximum allowance? I think there's a real full. fuzzy line between what's AI. Is autotune AI? That's artificial intelligence helping your voice. You know, like, I don't really... Is AI just, like, not drumming in a studio, but drums on a keyboard? Good question.
Starting point is 00:00:43 You know what I mean? That's artificial intelligence in a way. There has to be, as long as you're writing the song, but you're using autotune on your vocal, as long as there's some sort of talent put towards the song, I think it's fine. When you're fully creating a song with no human interaction, that's when I'd go. But then you'd lose the Puerto Rico song. I know but that's fine That's fine It's not in the charts
Starting point is 00:01:03 Is it? Probably did chart at one point Dan sadly Probably yeah absolutely I find it amazing that they can tell I don't know how they're even telling It just shows that they've got the technology To be able to do that
Starting point is 00:01:14 Which I think is the concerning thing Is it? Because you're hearing a song You go that's a brilliant song Who's sung that? A computer It is a banger You know it's all
Starting point is 00:01:25 Come on everybody First time Let's stand one Me'iho Capital of Puerto Rico Immediately chanting And clap When we land
Starting point is 00:01:46 Horace up Oh I took the bus to Kaguas It's a wild Machines in the bus station On my first time in Puerto Rico Mata and my father dark My boss jack wakes up about now All of this in for you're
Starting point is 00:02:20 So, and here you're a throwback There you go, yeah, we'll skip that next. except for in 20206. And you know what? Let A-I do its thing in the charts, man. The Edge is the home of Clint McGinn-Dame. Clint-Migan Dan. It is your 6-Amb throwback. Going back, what year do you think that was from?
Starting point is 00:02:36 Stitches, I would go 2014. Oh, close. 2015. Yep. Shame, Dan. It's Meg's secret skill, actually. If she was a game show where they play music. Going after someone else that got it close.
Starting point is 00:02:46 Is that what does it? To be fair, Dan is also really good at it pisses me off because I thought it was my thing, and then Dan's also just graded it. terrible at it. Like if you were like, what year did you finish high school? I couldn't even give you a year. I'd have to work up. Piss off you a little day. It was just after the war, isn't it? Yeah. The second world, obviously.
Starting point is 00:03:03 I'd have to work out how old I am, working how many years I've been out of school and then do the mass and minus it from 26. Clinton was like he wasn't drafted away into the war. No, no. Oh my gosh, you wouldn't have survived, Al. What would I have done on the war? You would be one of those people that are they conscientious to subjectors, the ones that's gone hiding in the bush. I think, I think he would have been taking a lot of photos. for people to... You would have been the poster boy
Starting point is 00:03:24 and people would be like, wow, look at that gorgeous man. Yeah, we want you. He'd be the poster boy. Oh, yeah, but then he's just sitting in an office. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. And they put a little bit of, like, so on his face to make it look like...
Starting point is 00:03:35 Dan are going to be in the trenches, just shining everyone else's guns for them. So that would be like, my guns... Either way, yes, that's what you'd be doing. My gun's getting dirty, and they'll give it to Dan. He's just sitting there giving them a rub and shining them up. Good on you, Dad.
Starting point is 00:03:51 Good on you. Supporting the troops. No one wants that, boy. Slap him on the ass. It's going. No one wants to die with a dirty gun in their hand. And on Dan's watch, that would not have a... That would never happen.
Starting point is 00:04:04 No, it would be. He took it very seriously. Look, they were all died, but they had the cleanest guns in the game. Yeah. Fortunately. Yeah, mate. Anyway. What do you want to get up to yesterday?
Starting point is 00:04:14 Anything good? I will say, you know, we've spoken at nauseam about my pie man, where I go most days after work. Oh, yeah, he knows you by first. name now. That's how often Dan goes to get a pie. And he'll quite often have my pie. He'll see me parking outside his establishment and you'll have my
Starting point is 00:04:30 pie already in the paper bag before I get in there. Now I haven't been in a while because I'm on my health kick. I've been going to the gym. Are you? You smashed you made a bag of him yesterday. I'm still eating the same. But I'm going to the gym.
Starting point is 00:04:44 Oh, right. Sorry. You can't. What do you say? You can't out train a bad diet. Yeah. But I haven't been going to my pie, man, as much. Right. As much. But I went yesterday. Lo and behold, he saw me outside, and he had it packed, ready to go,
Starting point is 00:04:59 referred to me by my name. What if you ever want to change the pie flavour? I would never want to. Okay, right. Yeah, I had a potato top once, because I usually go from a mince and cheese. Potato top, not as good. It was good, but it wasn't as good. So I always just stick on this.
Starting point is 00:05:12 I hate that, don't you, when you just go, you know what? I'm feeling adventurous. Maybe I won't get my chicken terriarchy sub with smoked cheese. I'm going to change it up. And then you get something else, and then you're like, why? Did I do that? Yeah. It's never as good.
Starting point is 00:05:25 It's why you stick with what you know. There's a comfort in having the same thing, isn't there? Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, so there's a little less. So I'm going to go to Tank, Tank Mango. Nothing else. I don't even know what else they do it.
Starting point is 00:05:34 Tank Mango, that's it. It's why my husband stays with me. Why, because of your tank mango? No, the comfort. Oh, right. I was like, why do you bring tank mangoes? Like, weekly or what? Yeah, I would stay with you for that.
Starting point is 00:05:47 Yeah. Yeah, God, that'd be good. Oh, you're like a comfort food for him. Yeah, I think so. It's just, you know, comfy. I think it was even in one of my friends wedding speeches for us of like, guy probably won't even believe you because he had to change.
Starting point is 00:05:57 So that was nice. It's kind of like that somber song where he just doesn't want to go through like having to... Stuff that seems someone naked again. Someone to have to see him get undressed again. Oh, surely that's fun. Maybe no if he ever needs his gun shine.
Starting point is 00:06:10 Yeah, yeah, Dan will polish it right up. Breakfast hits harder with Clint Meekin'10. First call of the day. Give us about 0800 the edge. We'll have a bit of chat here. See what you got planned throughout the rest of this week and also we've got a $50 supermarket voucher
Starting point is 00:06:25 as well. Much needed at the moment, hey? Price is getting up there again. Yeah, yeah, so we'll sort that out for you. As a thanks for taking your time to chat with us next 0800, the edge. Get your Clint McGinn and Dan Fax. The edge. Breaking news. I don't think she was next on anyone's celebrity death list, but you may not be super surprised
Starting point is 00:06:45 by it either based on her age. Dolly Pardin has passed away. This was a bit of a shock. since she was just uploading videos last week, but we have received a message on her Instagram from her nephew, stating the news. My name is Brian Siever, son of Cassie Parton, and I'm representing the Parton and Owen's family today
Starting point is 00:07:05 announcing the passing of my Aunt Dolly Rebecca Parton Dean, sister, sis, aunt granny to one generation, and Gigi to the next. Dolly has lived in the light and is in the arms of Jesus, surely met by Carl, her parents, and countless others who have watched her, and long for her to meet them in the heavens. Yeah, she just recently on Friday, August 21st,
Starting point is 00:07:28 so what last week, acknowledged her recent decline on health. She said, as I've shared in video message throughout the past year, I'm dealing with health issues that I just didn't pay attention to when I was watching over Carl, her husband, who died last year, 2025. So she was watching over him, and so she said she was ignoring her own medical issues.
Starting point is 00:07:46 She said, you know, this isn't the first time I've had to manage something like this. Back in the early 80s, I was down for several months, with female issues. And I'm struggling with my weight at the time too. It's not like I haven't been through hard times with my house. And then she goes on to say, you know me, as I've often said,
Starting point is 00:08:00 I've dreamed myself into a corner and still have so many things I want to achieve. So I'm going to work, keep on working as long as I can to see everything come to life. But unfortunately, she has passed a week later without us knowing the reason or the cause. She also has a museum opening up in a couple of months, the Life of Many Colors Museum of Dolly Pardon. So that will be a whole.
Starting point is 00:08:21 different vibe to it now. You often see it with older couples, when one of them dies. The other one passes not long after. That's what they kind of allude to a bit of the article. And Dolly Patton's such a pioneer. Like a lot of songs that you hear from other artists were written by Dolly Parton.
Starting point is 00:08:36 She's one of those selfless people that would write other songs. Obviously, she's got her hits. And feminist icon as well, actually. She's got a young soul too, because this is her with Post Malone. She's doing songs with Sabrina Carpenter. I wonder how old she about she was. because she's obviously passed away at age 80.
Starting point is 00:08:53 How do you think she felt like she was when she's still doing songs with 30-year-olds on stage? I reckon 50s, 40s. You know, I think they say you start feeling like you age after a certain time. Like I talked to my mum and she said she sometimes still feels like she's in her 30s. So Dolly was so young at heart and so vibrant. It's a huge loss. And obviously people like Miley Cyrus, where Dolly is her godmother will be feeling the pain today. All the tributes will start coming out over the next.
Starting point is 00:09:20 24 hours so whatever happens Meg will have the latest updates for you Obviously the famous song by Whitney Houston as well I will always love you which is Whitney made that famous but Dolly had it before then Really? Yeah we're just written by Dolly Parton So yeah if you're going to cover it do it better That's what they say
Starting point is 00:09:35 Whitney's like okay Lost Legend age 80 Pretty decent innings though And she's left a hell of a life Snit's Clint Meg and Dan It's Breakfast The Edge
Starting point is 00:09:50 Clint Megan Dan's scandal In Scandal, if you have missed it, Dolly Pardon has passed away at the age of 80 tributes are flooding in at the moment and they will continue to do so. I imagine for probably weeks. She is a legend and icon of country music, of I think feminist issues of the LGBTQ plus community and just as a person. If you do want to see her nephew announce the passing of Dolly, you can text Dolly to 3343 to see the vid. You're right, they mean, she's so much bigger than music itself. She's a She's a
Starting point is 00:10:22 She's a larger than life person Dolly pardon Should we put her on the A list? Where did we originally put it in? I don't think she's ever come up She's an A list She's putting on the A list today Not that that would have been
Starting point is 00:10:34 Yeah that's the only Yeah I mean I won't make that joke Yeah And Taylor Swift has spoken about How this song I knew you were trouble
Starting point is 00:10:47 came to be Which I found interesting Because I knew you were trouble When you walked in. I wrote this really sad piano ballad called I Knew You Were Trouble. I was really excited to bring it in and I played them this really, really sad ballad. And I was like, I think just no drums and they're like, what if it's dub step? And that's how the song came about.
Starting point is 00:11:13 Just hit in Auckland. The Edge. The Edge. The Edge. Glenn has one of those faces. Oh, let me ask. No, where people go, where do I know you from? Where do I know you from?
Starting point is 00:11:31 But now, I think from now on Dan may start just telling people it's from the edge because when they start speculating, it was very interesting. The latest guy that he bumped into in terms of where he thought he knew from. Oh, Clint, I'll tell you what, it was anywhere but the edge he thought he knew me from. Oh, yeah. He named about four or five places he thought he saw me. Chop the ego down with each guess. Listen live weekdays from Sex on Rover and K.
Starting point is 00:11:54 Catch up wherever. This is Clint, Meg and Dan. The Edge. If you want to get more of your Clint Megan Dan fix after 10 o'clock, you can download our Overthinkers podcast. This is the Overthinkers podcast. It's a fun one yesterday. Hey, they're always fun, Meg.
Starting point is 00:12:09 Oh, sorry. Always fun. That's what we say. Right. Okay, and I've told you to say it. Yeah, right, right, sorry about that. The amount of times I've told you to say, it's a fun show. It's a fun show.
Starting point is 00:12:17 It's a fun show. It's a fun show. Thank you. Clint, what you say? It's a fun show. It's especially fun when we find out about the stories of Dan and what happens to him after he leaves the show and doesn't hang out with us. Oh, that actually wasn't that fun.
Starting point is 00:12:30 Yeah, um, I, Dan had a bit of a mistaken identity, um, incident. Maybe it was because, I was going to say maybe it's because you got your, uh, new haircut. Oh, no, it was during this. During the haircut. It was during the haircut situation. It happens a lot with me for some reason. Yeah, okay. And this is where, sometimes you probably should just tell people where you're from, because
Starting point is 00:12:50 otherwise they start guessing. Now I go to the same barber every time I get a haircut. Anyway, so yesterday I had a man I'd never had before. I've never had him do anything to me before in my life. He was new I've never seen him. Whoa, it sounds like he's definitely done stuff to you. When I got there, you know how sometimes when you're in the public eye, you get people that sometimes will recognize you, but not know from where from. And I get it a lot, especially in radio, because a lot of people just hear you, and sometimes I see a little bit of social media.
Starting point is 00:13:15 Yeah. And they'll go, where do I know you from? And it happened with this guy that was cutting my hair. And it's an interesting thing to do because people are saying. And then you don't know what to say. You don't, I don't want to go, well, you might have heard me on the edge. Yeah, it's so embarrassing. My go-to is I've got one of those faces.
Starting point is 00:13:31 And that's what I said to him. And I thought I'd sort of quashed it at that point. But then he kept going, no, I've seen your face somewhere. And the things he suggested that he'd met me from were f-de-h-h-h-h-un insulting. Here we go. First of all, he went, did you teach children 10 years ago? So that puts me at least 45. Easy.
Starting point is 00:13:51 So I'm 37 for those. I was playing at home, by the way. He's gone, did you teach, and he looked like he was in his, like, 30s. So he's going, did you teach me when I was 18? No, I didn't. Do you look like an old teacher of his? Oh, so, yeah, okay, that's insulting. So there's a lot of young teachers, but if he thinks you taught him, that's different.
Starting point is 00:14:09 Yep. He then asked me, do I drive a bus? I don't drive a bus. I've never driven a bus. It is a dream of mine. And then the one that really got me was, do you work at the tip out in West Auckland? And I said, no, I do not work at the tip. I almost went, I work in a fucking.
Starting point is 00:14:24 Radio. Do you know what? Meg's husband loves the tip. He does. He's out there all the time. My husband loves the tip. Yeah, because there was a shop, wasn't it? There is a shop. There is a shop. He's always at the tip.
Starting point is 00:14:40 Yeah, and you can get like soup, but not he doesn't get the soup, though. I get the soup, obviously. It's like two dollars for a soup. From the tip? Oh, no. They get all the mattresses, and when they hold them up and all the juices run down, they're recycling. No, there's a.
Starting point is 00:14:54 Daniel, there's a cafe. At the tip! Don't go to the tip cafe. Whenever I've been to the tip, I just go to the tip, dump my loads, and then leave. Daniel, stop, I should be doing that. Yeah, I know that you're allowed to do that. If I'm going to the... I'm not buying a soup from the tip cafe.
Starting point is 00:15:10 Neither. Of all the places, they're buying a soup, the tip cafe is the last place. Makes sense, though, because if he's mucking around for ages, then you need something to do, Meg. It's cheap. It's cheap. It's a cup of vegetable soup. People have thrown out, and they've gone, we'll blend them up. So do they get stuff? Someone's throwing a whole load of courgettes. Get them in the soup.
Starting point is 00:15:28 Wait, so do they just go through the people that Tim Musk go, that's actually pretty decent. We won't go and throw that away. Let's chuck that in the shop. Yeah, some of that, but now the shop has actually become like almost like a sali army. You know, it's all things that. Yeah, it's a really big show. You guys are just too fancy.
Starting point is 00:15:43 It's a good trip. Let's go get a tip soup together. Sounds like my ideal afternoon. Go on throughout a fridge and get a soup. Your favorite radio show In podcast form Edge Breakfast Clint Meg and Dan
Starting point is 00:15:56 It's time to get naughty At 640 640-ish 640-ish Meg found this one online actually I didn't know they did this I thought they only did it in movies I don't think this is a thing
Starting point is 00:16:09 I think the Uber driver was very confused Because this man Was just doing his Uber driving When some police people What do they call cops Offices? Offices. jumped in the car and said, go, go, go.
Starting point is 00:16:21 We're on a chase for that person that's just run past. I've got so many questions, because you'd wonder whether this was a beat officer, the one that's on foot. And so they don't have a vehicle at their disposal, so they've had to use a citizen's car. So he was heading to his next passenger who's standing there waiting to get picked up by their Uber, and they go, why the hell's taking this Uber so long, when two police officers chasing a fleeing suspect jumped into his car and said,
Starting point is 00:16:46 go just go to the road. Hey, you're right over that, please. Cool, go that way. Go, go, go, go. Leone, get in! Okay, okay. Five stars. Five stars. So what, they jumped in a Prius.
Starting point is 00:16:58 Of all the vehicles that they could have taken position of, they took a Prius. Yeah. I don't know. There's some sort of weird circumstances here. Have you read why? Yeah, well, that's the whole thing. If I look in the article, it's up on people at the moment. It's like that is what people were saying.
Starting point is 00:17:13 People were saying, you do second cops in the backseat. And they think it's really unfair on the Uber driver because he's like, I'm not going. getting paid to go and put my life in danger for... I hope the first thing he was going to didn't give him a one star because he didn't turn up. There's a police station, like literally next door to us here, so we drive past and make sure we always stop completely at the stop sign.
Starting point is 00:17:34 If any of us were going to have our vehicles taken over in a police chase, what order, because we're all sort of leaving at the same time, do you think they would go? Well, if it's a high-speed chase, you'd take Clint's because he's got a Tesla, and they go fast. So if they're wanting to pursue a assailant to them... And quiet. And quiet.
Starting point is 00:17:51 Secret. Well, Meg's is quite zippy and there's a lot of one-way streets and people parked on both sides of the roads. Small and zippy. But you would have to put up with Meg talking to her mum the whole way. Oh yeah. As soon as I'm in the car, I'm talking to my mum on the phone. So I'd go, Mom, I'm doing a cop chase. Well, I've got another fairy party this Saturday.
Starting point is 00:18:08 And Meeks are going, Mom, I'm in a high-speed pursuit. Yeah, she would just say, right. Okay, well, anyway, I've got to do the cupcakes and I'm going to make the wands. And, yeah, so they'll be going on in the background. Yours inconspicuous, Dan? Yeah, it's covered in pie flakes, all the seats. Yeah, oh God, you'd be dusting pie flakes off your bum. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:25 But apart for that, but Dan, they'd probably have snacks in the glove box as well for the cops afterwards. Successful chase guys, donuts all around. You've so got me, Clint. I've got odd fellows in the centre concert. Oh, fuck. I'm like an 80-year-old. I go, hey, I know we're going 120 down the state highway one. Do you want an odd fella?
Starting point is 00:18:43 What about you? Producer-car, producer Brady. What are you guys driving? Would they take over your cars? I'm in a Subaru, so maybe. Oh, yeah? Have you seen that stuff about Subaru's, that it's just lesbians that drive them? What?
Starting point is 00:18:57 No, I haven't seen that, Dan. Let me read it on TikTok. It's like the lesbian car now. Subaru? Lesbians. I thought they were the MX5s. No, that's just... The association between Sabaru and the lesbian community began in the early 1990s.
Starting point is 00:19:10 See? Isn't that interesting? Through targeted market research and a groundbreaking, breaking, subtle ad campaign, Sabaru realized queer women naturally love their rugged, practical car. and embrace the demographic. Yeah. Okay. Well, there we go.
Starting point is 00:19:22 I know, two lesbians as well. Two of my best friends, and neither of them drive a Subaru. I'm not okay. Oh, well then I've only got one. Oh, look what it is. The Edge. Bestie Bestie. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:37 My makeup looking okay. The lines are open now. For a couple minutes. Call 0800 The Edge to get you and three of your besties on our standby list to see Olivia Dean live in Auckland. The Edge. I sold out. The Edge.
Starting point is 00:19:55 Besty, Bestie. Olivia Dean Edition. Can you imagine what it will sound like in the crowd when you hear those open to dint-dum for a couple minutes? I think you can say, imagine what it sounds like of me talked over the intro. Besties on our standby list to see Olivia Dean live in Auckland. Why is it that long? We've already played the cuticle.

Starting point is 00:20:30 There's a lot of people like you, Ava, so hopefully you win. I think people thought they had, like, a day or two to think about it. Or find out... Yeah, literally. Yeah, find out who was going to go and then be like, okay, let's, like, six of us all go, and then like 10 minutes into tickets go and say, they were gone. There was like 10,000 people. Well, Ava, 7th of September, it's a Monday.
Starting point is 00:20:50 be calling somebody back who's on the standby list. Maybe it might be you. Just make sure you pick your phone up. Scarlett, you're also in the drawer. Ellen. Yoda. Thanks, Scarlett. Thanks, Scarlett.
Starting point is 00:21:01 Brianna, you're in the drawer as well. Brianna from Napier? Oh, hello. She was you almost missed out. She doesn't answer to Brianna. It's always Brianna. Brianna, you're in the drawer for Olivia D. Thank you so much.
Starting point is 00:21:17 I'm so excited. Yay, yeah. Yeah, it would be amazing. Marina. Oh my gosh, that'd be incredible. My daughter absolutely loves you. Oh, great. Okay, your daughter, you and who else?
Starting point is 00:21:29 You've got two others if you win? My twin sister and my niece. Oh, great, crew. Girls night. Nice. Girls weekend, basically, right? Yeah, true, because you get flights and an Airbnb as well that will put you up. Shaz, you're in.
Starting point is 00:21:44 Thank you so much, guys. You love. Shaz, because you're from Auckland, so it'll save on flights for us. Yeah, that'll be good for us. Genito, we're you from Dunniz, so it'll be good. great for you if you win. Oh, good morning. Thank you so much. Yeah, you're very, very welcome.
Starting point is 00:21:58 All right, well, best of like 7th of September. That's what you need to listen out. We'll be calling somebody back. Quick couple more, quick. Sophie, you're in. Thank you. You're welcome. And Mel is currently naked in the shower,
Starting point is 00:22:09 and she is also in the drawer. Nice. Are you, Mel? Yeah, boy. I'm not out of the shower now, but I'm freezing cold standing up on the heater with a towel, half wrecked around me. Oh, what an image.
Starting point is 00:22:19 Well, there you go. Hopefully you win. When's the drawer? When are we doing the draw? No, next week. Sorry, I forgot. Sorry, have I asked a bad question. Hold on. 7th of September.
Starting point is 00:22:32 Oh, yes. Sorry, Mel's nudeness through me. Wait, stop mentioning our listeners news. Thank you. It's all right, eh, Mel? You told us. I didn't quite hear you, sorry? Yeah, yeah, neither.
Starting point is 00:22:48 All right. I didn't quite hear either, so. I'm glad we went down that, Robert Holm. Nice. Yeah. Should we do easy money? Let's do it. Let's get somebody $1,000.
Starting point is 00:22:59 Okay. 30 seconds on the clock. The letter is what? Tea. Tea. All right, give us 10 answers. Starting with tea and we'll give you $1,000. Tea for towel.
Starting point is 00:23:08 What, Mel, I'm on her body. Maybe it's a chance for us to bring back nude or not. Well, she was clearly nude. Yeah. Easy money in 90 seconds. Good luck. Easy money. One letter, 10 categories and just 30 seconds.
Starting point is 00:23:21 Let's play. Easy money. Right, here we go, you can pass. If we've got time, we'll come back. But no repeated answers. Those are the only rules. And Reese is calling for the very first time. Hey, how you're going?
Starting point is 00:23:40 Good morning, Reese. A truck driver from Christchurch. Are you ready to go? Yeah, all ready. What do we spend $1,000 on? Let's live in that moment for a second. Oh, I didn't thought about it. It was very on the spot.
Starting point is 00:23:54 Yeah. A bit... A big... Bills, sensible stuff, I suppose. Sensible stuff. Okay. All right, your letter is tea for truck driver, Reese. You're ready to go?
Starting point is 00:24:06 Yeah, sure. Here we go. What are one of the five senses? Taste. An occupation? Path. A country. Turkey.
Starting point is 00:24:21 A colour. Something in the bathroom. toothbrush. A chocolate bar. Twikes. Something you see. when you smile? A TV show?
Starting point is 00:24:37 The Simpsons. A bird? That was question nine. He would have got nine. Very disappointed in question two. An occupation starting with T. Do you want to give that one another guy? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:24:52 That was a bad one, wasn't it? I could have probably said truck driver. You could have said truck driver. Yeah, your occupation. Annoying, Reese. But when you're in the heat of the moment, it's harder than it looks, isn't it? The pressure was on.
Starting point is 00:25:03 Yeah, mate. You got the question nine. It was good pace. Obviously, he had a couple of passes in there. But back again at 8 o'clock. If you want to crack at easy money, you think you can do better than Reese. All right, up next. We couldn't believe this phone call we got yesterday.
Starting point is 00:25:15 It was like out of nowhere we spoke to CJ when he got in the drawer to see Olivia Dean. We asked her who he'd take and it was who he'd take with them that shocked us. Oh my goodness, me. We actually had to double take and go, sorry, say that again because I was like he can't have said what we thought we heard him say. A strange combination of people.
Starting point is 00:25:34 This is the Clint Meg and Dan catch up. Want to hear the guys off air and a little looser? Listen and watch their Overtinkers podcast. Olivia Dean, if you do hear the festy, bestie, cue to call. Give us a bell that we just played out a few minutes ago. Get on the standby list and then hopefully September 7th. We call you saying you've got flights of com and four tickets to a sold out Olivia Dean gig in Western Springs in Auckland.
Starting point is 00:25:57 How good. And that's what happened yesterday after nine when we did a cue to call. And CJ called. And we asked him who, you know, he would take and then had to get a sorry, can you repeat that because we thought we can't have heard that right. Who you're taking, CJ, if you won?
Starting point is 00:26:12 Probably take my wife and my ex. Probably. Your wife and your who? My wife and my ex. That's what I thought you said. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Would they know each other were to be there staying in the same Airbnb with you at the same time? Are they friends?
Starting point is 00:26:24 They're best friends. Okay. Best friends. Not just friends. Not just friendly. Hmm. So, we dug a little deeper. They're best friends. Wait. Do they become best friends before or after you started dating both of them separate times.
Starting point is 00:26:35 After. How did that happen? Do you have kids with your ex? Oh, that's so lovely. And so now your ex-wife and your new girlfriend, like best mate? Yep, pretty much cool. Has she got a new partner that your best friends with? Oh, no, I'm not best friends or friends.
Starting point is 00:26:53 Oh, come on, CJ. She's trying, mate. He's not the third ticket, Glenn. It's not the third ticket. I feel like we've slowly lost gusto here. Yeah, I think that's where he draws the line. it would be a like you can already hear
Starting point is 00:27:05 Meg myself Dan all just like Hold on wait I've got so many more questions Every time people find that out They must have a thousand questions He got a little cagey afterwards He was a little suddenly Didn't want to answer the questions this month
Starting point is 00:27:17 I think he slowly realised he was on national radio I'm talking about it I love that they get along Especially with kids in the picture It's so nice when parents can just get along Be friends And not just for the kids They actually get along enough that they want to hang out
Starting point is 00:27:28 To the point that he's probably bitched about The most Like, you know, like, if they're getting together, their problem, she's probably like, oh, God, do you know what CJ did? She goes, I remember that. Yeah. Oh, I remember that. He's bad at that.
Starting point is 00:27:39 Never good at that. I would love to know what the relationship you have with somebody that people find weird. Like, I remember growing up in high school, I'd go around to my mate's place, and his mum and dad had split, but his mum and dad, who were no longer together, still lived in the same house with their three kids, and she got a new partner and had a kid with him. and the new partner and their son they all lived in the same house.
Starting point is 00:28:04 It was like a blended family but they all lived together under the same roof so they could all be with their children. It's like yucking someone else's yum, isn't it? I guess it's weird for you because you've never lived in that situation but it's normal for them because they live the life. But when you hear it as a story on paper,
Starting point is 00:28:18 it sounds crazy. Yeah, how would you go with your wife, you and your ex, Dan? Oh, that wouldn't work. Oh, no, no, no, no. Two minutes spinning plates, eh? Yeah, but honestly, I'd move out.
Starting point is 00:28:32 See you later. They'd get together. Who knows? Maybe your best friends like 30 years younger than you and everyone finds that super weird. You've either got a very young
Starting point is 00:28:41 or a very old best friend. But like you and me. Oh, piss off me. You know Sarah Paulson, the famous actress, she's married to a lady in her 80s and Sarah Paulson's in her 40s. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:53 And that's always a weird situation, isn't it? What's the relationship you have that people find weird because it's not the norm? Anyone always has 100 questions when they find out. It's not the norm for society, but it's a norm for you. Yeah, best is an older person.
Starting point is 00:29:07 Yeah. Like Clint? Yeah, we get a lot of questions, don't we? Clipzig and Dan, Edge Breakfast. Going through some of the texts. We're talking about unorthodox friendships or relationships that people find weird after we spoke to CJ yesterday, and he said if he won, the tickets to Olivia Dean,
Starting point is 00:29:24 he'd take his wife and his ex, because his, well, sorry, no, his ex, wife and his new girlfriend because it turns out they're best friends. They don't have just the same taste in men. They're also now best mates. Good on them. Trying to get Adam on the phone who's text through saying that he is
Starting point is 00:29:44 dating his mum's best friend. No. From high school. So I'm assuming his mum would be in her like 50s, minimum 60s. And he must be in his life. And he's dating. There's no way you can still be best friends with the person that's dating your
Starting point is 00:30:00 son when your best friends from high school. And can you imagine, like, then she's, you confide with your best friend. So she's going home talking about her son to them. Clint, it's like, it's like Kish, your best mate dating can. Oh, yeah, no, you can't. Yeah, yeah, there we go. How could you still be friends? I know, you can't, you grew up knowing them.
Starting point is 00:30:19 Yeah, no. Surprisingly, he's not answering his phone. Of course he isn't. Somebody said, my ex is now my best friend. We talk more than we did when we were together. That's more common that seems than there's a couple. of texts like that. That's cool.
Starting point is 00:30:31 I like that. Wow, good for you. It says that my parents are best friends with my ex's parents. We broke up, but our families refuse to. So they'd be like, no, don't break up with Jessica. We love Jessica's family. And then you're not with Jessica anymore. And so your parents just keep going on holidays with her parents.
Starting point is 00:30:47 That'd be really hard to cut ties. That often happens though, doesn't it, with relationships where there's friend groups that are friends. Because of that relationship, the original relationship splits up. But you've still got these friendships. Yeah. text there was this guy in my year group that dated all the girls in his friend group. Just wait through them.
Starting point is 00:31:06 Like wildfire. Yeah, yeah, it's a little different. Another one says that my husband is best friends with my ex-husband. I like that, that the boys can bro down and go, let's just get on with it. That's amazing. Especially with kids. I think that's the key, right? Do you think they've talked about, though, the intimacy?
Starting point is 00:31:23 Because you've both got that shared interest there, don't you? I suppose if there are no feeling still there. It doesn't really matter. From what I know with boys, you guys don't talk about intimacy and your sex lives to each other anyway, do you? You don't sit down and go,
Starting point is 00:31:39 oh, how's it going in the bedroom and you guys go into details? No, we don't. Exactly. So, like, I can't imagine X's would do it. No. How good is this one? This one says,
Starting point is 00:31:48 my partner's best friend and now happens to be our neighbour. The lads went and cut like a hole in the fence and put in a swing gate so they can just go and do like, not sleepovers but just like hangs whenever the heck they like. A literal swingers gate.
Starting point is 00:32:04 That's what you're saying? I think it's just one of those like push saloon gates I guess where they just like push and go through and hang out each other's houses. This is the dream isn't it? Nine-year-old boys. Yeah, it's the dream.
Starting point is 00:32:15 And this is a nice text then. I had a complete mental breakdown in a coffee shop. That's not the nice bit. And the owner literally locked all the doors, flipped on the close sign and talked to me for hours. We've been besties for 10 years.
Starting point is 00:32:25 Now that must be a quiet coffee shop. If they were able to go, okay, we'll close up. no one else is here. I've done that before when I was not running a coffee shop, when I worked at one, ended up closing up and a woman was walking past. And she had all these curries
Starting point is 00:32:40 because she was going home to her family with the curry. She went and picked it up and walked down the street and then she came in with me and then we had a wine. And then we ate the curries and she forgot about her family. Is that when you worked at Tarts? Yes. What is she doing now? What is she doing now?
Starting point is 00:32:56 No idea. We never spoke again. Oh my God, we should find her. Yeah, she, she, we, Hand on her. She came in. She saw me because we know each other from, she gets a coffee from me. She said, hi, we started talking. I said, I'm having a wine. I'm just shutting up. She said, I'll stay for a wine. And then we ended up eating all the curry that was meant to be for her family.
Starting point is 00:33:11 And then she, like, had to wander home with empty curry boxes to her kids. She could have been one of your new best friends, but you just didn't nurture that little flame. She was a lot older than me. She had family and kids, and I was like 19. She was in her mid-40s. But you had a shared love of courage. Yeah, she had a share love of courage down here. That's all it takes sometimes with friendship. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:30 Glenn Megadhan. Hey, The Imposter is back this morning at 8 o'clock. We've heard from a couple of people. There's the Harry Stiles tattoo story. There's also the Stanley Tucci, wild goose chase, trying to find organic apples. We're going to hear from, I think it's Jacob this morning, who's saying, no, no, no, those two are lying
Starting point is 00:33:52 because my celebrity encounter in London actually did happen. And it's another egg lister from what I've heard. Okay. Different industry to the other two, still very famous. Once we have all three stories, we should be able to work out which two of them are lying. You can help us at 8 this morning on the edge. Get your Clint Megan Dan Fax. The Edge.
Starting point is 00:34:09 On back through Clint's Facebook page because he is possibly going to America soon and Donald Trump's going through it and going, can this man... I don't think Donald Trump personally goes through it. Well, you have to get an Esther, like a visa, and then it asks you to add your TikTok, your Instagram and your Facebook handle so they can find out you're not. I guess saying any mean things about America. Now I do have some visual ones today, Dan, so you will have to help describe to the audience what you're seeing here.
Starting point is 00:34:39 Okay, so you're going to turn them around and I can see it. This one is a status that Clint put up saying, my new artwork arrived today that you're obviously very proud of to put up in your home. Clint, sometimes you just don't need to post stuff. So if we can describe the artwork that Clint bought. To me, it's one of these things I don't know. actually what it is. It looks like, to me, a cat wearing sunglasses, and it's got a cigar in its mouth, wearing a helmet that's used in the war.
Starting point is 00:35:10 Producical? Sorry, me, can you just show the class out here? Sorry, what do you think of this? This is his new artwork he was supposed to do about. Oh, Clint. Hey. I still have that in the hallway. No, you don't! That is so just so not classy.
Starting point is 00:35:23 Then you put up this photo. Stuck for dinner ideas, and it's a little tint of grated fanny. I don't really know what that. Jesus, Clint. That is actually quite funny. I thought you liked that one. Who's going into a shop and going, hmm, grated fanny?
Starting point is 00:35:36 It looked like a jar of like spam, but that's what it says on the outside. Your next photo of food post, and the last one you said, full on burger flavour. Have they even had a burger before? And it was a picture of burger rings. Jesus. Honestly, is that when they came out?
Starting point is 00:35:50 Burger rings do not taste like burgers. What is? Well, it depends what sort of burger it is. A burger sauce. Burger sauce tastes like burgers. Burger rings, no. Anyway, I stand by. That one.
Starting point is 00:36:02 You stand by that? Okay. Don't delete that one then, me. Your uncle, apparently, you, you quoted him. Oh, my uncle. Who's your uncle? Who's your uncle? Uncle Paul?
Starting point is 00:36:12 Uncle Nigel? This is his uncle. You called him uncle. Uncle just said, I thought it was Maurice Narnina. Hashtag Felice Navidar. That really cracked you. This is one of his Christmas ones. He always does Christmas thing ones.
Starting point is 00:36:25 Delete, delete that. Who's thinking it's Maurice Navi Da. Oh, I got Maurice Nannina. uncle. Big shout out to my generous mate, Raj, for giving me his phone. Just hope he's not an Indian giver. Because he is Indian. And then he did an Indian emoji.
Starting point is 00:36:43 Oh, he does. He gives me his hand-me-down iPhones when he gets a new one. He's still doing that, by the way. He's still doing that. Yeah, yeah. My latest phone is from him. He wasn't offended by that racist joke you put on your face. Oh, it's not right.
Starting point is 00:36:55 Some of my best friends are in you. Okay, when you first got this radio job, I think the My FM one before here. You said, caught up with these boys before their new show kicked off last night. Hashtag, in cap slot, great dudes. And it was John O and Ben. But now he's best friends with Ben. I know, look how far you've come.
Starting point is 00:37:16 You were like so excited to show them off. Stop it. Yep. Actually, best free work hookup to date have legitimately locked it away on my locker so no one takes it. Low. Hashtag, paranoid. Hashtag Nutra Bullitt. Oh, Clint, you were too heavy on the hashtags.
Starting point is 00:37:33 Yeah, I mean, they were a thing back then. Were they? There's still a thing, I think, but... Yeah, you were very... You'd always do minimum five. Yeah. You put up a photo of a towel that was the New Zealand flag and said, I've been drying my butt with the flag,
Starting point is 00:37:45 NZ hashtag, lull. Did you put the hashtag as a lull? Delete. Any sort of patriot thing. Get rid of that going into America. I don't think they might have you burning a flag that's not theirs. I don't think they care about that. Okay.
Starting point is 00:37:59 No, yeah, you just mean. And you're wondering your ass with an American flag, then I think you're in trouble. Okay. You don't have any more. Probably love that. He'd be like, good. Come on in. You don't have any more.
Starting point is 00:38:12 Surely that's most of my Facebook. Oh, there's plenty more, Clint, but yeah. Okay. Coming up next, we're going to catch up with the opening act. For Alex Warren. Alyssa Grace. She's only, was it 18, 19? 19.
Starting point is 00:38:27 So young, but it's torn all around New Zealand. and on her way to Sydney to open for Alex Warren. Men who have a connection, a weird connection with something that I don't think anybody's had a connection with before. Yeah, what does Dan and a 19-year-old girl have in common? We Brod Down.
Starting point is 00:38:43 Find out next. Take the edge off your day with Clint Meg and Dan. Hedge. Alyssa Grace doing 13 shows for Alex Warren, I guess 12 shows now after the Auckland show on Monday night was cancelled. Morning. Good morning. How are you guys?
Starting point is 00:38:59 When did you find out about that? I was supposed to go on at like seven. I found out at like four. I had gotten ready because McKenna and I were going to like shoot some stuff. Yeah, what do you do? Do you just got for dinner? What do you do after it? We just went out and just...
Starting point is 00:39:11 When do you find out that you're going to be opening for Alex Warrick? I found out my team had let me know and I was just like automatically like, yes. I haven't played any shows yet. So I was just waiting for the right opportunity and I just feel like I really resonated with, you know, him and his music. So they told me and I was like, yeah, this is something that we have to do. So how does that come about? But do people put names for to Alex and then he chooses someone? I was talking with his wife and apparently she put my name in front of him.
Starting point is 00:39:36 Oh, wow. And I was just so honored to be chosen by their group, I guess. Unless you're only 19, which is so young. How long has your trajectory been going up? I had just quit my job at the Cheesecake Factory a couple weeks ago. Oh, really? This is very similar vibes to Harry Stiles. He was working at Baker's Deluxe.
Starting point is 00:39:56 Back in December, I was going to two different colleges. I was working at three different jobs and I like had been let off two of my jobs I got fired actually but we don't talk about that. We don't talk about that. I was just working at the Cheesecake Factory and doing the TikTok thing and flying in New York and making music and eventually I was like
Starting point is 00:40:13 okay well this is a lot. Elizabeth, as a father to an 11 year old girl who is obsessed with singing, she's doing singing coaching and she wants to perform and stuff what sort of role do your parents or have your parents played in allowing you to get that I don't know. My parents have been super supportive and telling me, like, if you want to do it, go do it.
Starting point is 00:40:34 I feel like a lot of people would tell their daughter it's really hard to do it. And, you know, my parents did tell me that. But any opportunity, we went and got it and they were super supportive and helping me find the best opportunities and, like, you know, signing a record deal. They're right by my side through all that. You're great at running a breakup song. It is an incredible emotion to capture. Has the person it's about being in touch? Or is it hard to give that much of yourself in lyrics, knowing.
Starting point is 00:40:59 they're still in your life. I've cut ties with anybody that affects my mental health in the way that it has. I've been reached out by people, but I learned to not respond. I feel like a year ago today, I would have been running back and going back to that person because that's what was happening for so long. It's so hard you see that person's name pop up in your phone and you have a whole body, like everything kind of is affected by it. What would the story be if you went through the last 10 photos that you've taken on your phone
Starting point is 00:41:26 whilst you've been here? The last picture is my manager Ian with his man purse on. Man purse. We were out last night. We were out last night and he was wearing a fanny pack and he kept on him out there. Have you got the fanny bag? That's Ian yet. Well, show us the penny pack.
Starting point is 00:41:41 He doesn't have it. Why? You embarrassed? I told him to grab it. Someone else's fanny. It wasn't mine. I was just wearing it for fun. And he was going, even he was holding all of my squishies and my deodor.
Starting point is 00:41:53 I've been on a squishy. I've been watching the fidget training. Oh, these guys love. They've got needles. All he does. Thank you guys so much for having. Elizabeth Grace, enjoy all your shows with that, Alex. So hopefully he improves and he's back on stage ASAP.
Starting point is 00:42:11 I know. Thank you guys so much around me. Alyssa, Grace, Bloodstream. So if you went to the Christch Gigs of Alex Warren, no doubt you would have seen her on stage 19, just commanding an audience. Auckland, unfortunately, missed out. Hopefully Alex is doing much better as he heads over to Sydney.
Starting point is 00:42:31 Just so talented, eh, at the age of 19. tend to have that career ahead of you and are already smashing it. What were you doing in 19? Oh, God, not anything near what she was doing. I was working at the bank and giving away $10,000 by accident. Accidentally, yeah. Yeah, and they were like, where did that go? They never found it.
Starting point is 00:42:47 No, no. Good for you. Listen to your favourite breakfast show whenever you like. Clint McGinn Dan. The Edge. Lookalike comps. They're still going around the internet, but they're a big thing a year or two back, and we did our own with Jason Mamoa. Got some great lookalikes, sorry, that can. came out.
Starting point is 00:43:03 There were some amazing dudes that came along to that, hey, like they've come out of the world, work from lots of places around New Zealand looked exactly like him. Unreal, eh? At the moment, it feels like at least our algorithm is serving us up. American state fairs doing calling competitions,
Starting point is 00:43:20 in particular, the chicken calling competition that we played on here, and even the mum calling competition, which had a bit of PTSD for a lot of parents. Yeah, it was shocking really. Yeah. And it's given us, this idea.
Starting point is 00:43:36 New Zealand is known for many things. The mighty all blacks, Marmite, the top twins, and Chris Warner. Please tell me that is not your penis. But one thing we're known for more than others is our prowess in sayings and catchphrases.
Starting point is 00:43:55 She's going to get 20 f***ing wax. This is the fucking news. Father's day is on Sunday. Always blow on the pie to safe communities together. Oh, ho. some goodies in there. But there's one catchphrase that reigns supreme over all the rest. And right now, it's more popular than ever. Up the Wads.
Starting point is 00:44:13 Up the Wads. Up the Wads. Up the Wads. Up the Wads. What's up? I'm Jack Black and I'm here to say up the Waz. Yes, every true Warriors fan has said it. But which one said it best?
Starting point is 00:44:36 This is Waz Wars Wars. Wars. Yes. So you can just call us. Oh, 800 the edge? We're doing it over a whole lot of rounds, aren't we? Yeah, because we've got two more weeks of the regular season before we get to the playoffs.
Starting point is 00:44:51 But we'll take three people next. We'll find out who is the greatest out of those three, and you will become the reigning champion that we'll carry over to tomorrow. Give us your best. Up to us! Oh, not bad, Dad. Not bad.
Starting point is 00:45:05 Not bad. I think you don't want to overplay it as well. You can overdo it. an up the waz, I think. Oh, like an up the waa! Yeah, that's too long. Too long. Too much.
Starting point is 00:45:17 Yeah, I feel you on that. Meg, give us your best. Hap the waz! You can add a hugh to the start. I always add a ha. Yeah, just to really get the diaphragm engaged. How would you do it though? 0,800 the edge.
Starting point is 00:45:28 Three people next, the best one, Asclan says, moves through to the next round of Waz Wars. Jack Nails it for me. He's the blueprint. Yeah, high watermark for me. Mm-hmm. Oh, 800 the edge. Give it a nudge.
Starting point is 00:45:42 It's breakfast Clint Megan Dan Clint Megan Dan We're giving it a nudge For the first time today Let's see how you go It is Waz Wars I'm Jack Black
Starting point is 00:46:07 And I'm here to say Up the Warr Is Waz Wars Wars Wars Wars It's not officially sanctioned I don't think the Warriors Have any say in this No
Starting point is 00:46:18 We're doing it though aren't we Yep They are two games away Two wins away From finishing Minor Premier's top of the table They've only ever done it once in their 30-plus year history. It was in 2002 where we lost the grand final that year to the roosters.
Starting point is 00:46:33 But this might be our year. And we need the nation to be prepared for the big moment. If you've never said it, not the wars. Are you even a New Zealander? True. Even if you're not a fan of the Warriors. When you do citizenship, right at the end, that should be a verbal part of the test. It should be something that you have to do.
Starting point is 00:46:55 So we're going to see how good you are at doing it. Let's go to Mark this morning. Gideh, Mark. You big wise fan? Hey, yeah, man, biggest fan. Okay. Hell yeah. Hey, Tomari Martin back this week.
Starting point is 00:47:10 Up to Wards. Okay. We cut out. I think we need to do it again because he went so loud. His phone cut out. Give us one more, Mark. Up to Waz. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:47:20 Okay, quick and fast. Nice. Okay, we've got Mark there. What about Taylor? Morning Taylor representing Denise. Eden this morning. Hi. Give us your best.
Starting point is 00:47:35 Rous. I like it. Harper, who's nine years old. Harper from Christchurch. You're big Waz fan, Hapa? Yeah. Who got you into the Warriors? Mum or Dad?
Starting point is 00:47:48 This is great. Well, Harper, you know what? We're not going to give you special treatment just because you're nine, but you can still take this out at the ripe age of nine. Okay, so let's do this. Give us your best up the Waz.
Starting point is 00:48:01 She's the winner. Oh! Taylor and Mark done to a nine-year-old Harper. I mean, I think they'll be happy to give their crisp fibre to Harper, isn't it? Yeah. Harper, it's a bloody good time to become a Warriors fan. When I was young, they weren't as good as they are now.
Starting point is 00:48:22 It's a hard slog supporting the Warriors. But Harper, congratulations, you'll be our carryover champion to tomorrow. Okay. Bit of a delay on the line there. Mum's like, damn, we've got to do this. again before school tomorrow. Gee, yeah. Okay, we're going to have to do it before eight
Starting point is 00:48:42 tomorrow there, aren't we? All right, for a bit more cash this morning, $1,000, easy money, your letter is N. Plentyer N-words. Give us one, Clint. Nigel. Good. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:48:59 Norty. Nice. There we go. All great N-words. Up to the last. Almost all of them. Next. Easy money.
Starting point is 00:49:09 $1,000 on the line. Let's play. Easy money. All right, 30 seconds on the clock. Give us 10 answers, starting with the letter N finale this morning. And cash is yours. You can pass, but no repeated answers are the rules. Okay, Annabel is playing this morning.
Starting point is 00:49:25 She works as a graphic designer, lives in Duned, and your letter is N, Annabelle. Hello. Good morning, Annabelle. So it's an N for nice job. You did well. You won $1,000. Yeah, hopefully that's what we'll be saying to you in 30 seconds.
Starting point is 00:49:40 You ready? Cool. Okay, good luck. Yeah. Give me a body part. A number. A food. Nutragan.
Starting point is 00:49:55 A city. Dog. Something you wear. Knee pad. No. Go again? Yeah. An active wear brand.
Starting point is 00:50:08 Nike. A family member. An. Something people are afraid of. Night. Time, Annabelle. You know what? That was a good effort for the...
Starting point is 00:50:20 You got through eight, but the knee pad through you. Yeah. But still you. You did really well. Oh, man. That's going to annoy you for the rest of the day, isn't it? You had a fabric and a famous chef left. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:50:33 And I think if you hadn't said knee and had that stopped out, I reckon you would have been close to getting the 10. Yeah, well, back again at 7 o'clock and 8 o'clock tomorrow morning. Up next, though. The Impost. The truth. $100. Who's lying?
Starting point is 00:50:55 Is it Max? Is it Rosie? or is it Jacob about to lie to our face is next One met Harry Styles One met Who is the other one? Stanley Tucci
Starting point is 00:51:07 And another celebrity Runnin next But one celebrity running story is true The other two completely made up I still don't believe any so far Okay so you're thinking This has to be right This has to be the truth
Starting point is 00:51:19 Sorry Jacob's down the truth next Yeah We'll see Let's see if we can find holes In the story right after this The Edge is the home of Clint Mac and Dan The Edge Five past eight
Starting point is 00:51:29 It's The Edge I will quickly share with the class We got invited to a Father's Day event With Kimas Warehouse And I invited my dad And then I found out Dan's invited his boss Oh no
Starting point is 00:51:40 And he said no And the sad thing is I don't even think he's coming Because I was like They gave us plus ones And I don't have anyone That's a plus one I don't know the boss was your dad Do you call him daddy?
Starting point is 00:51:51 He's been more of a father figure than my actual dad No I'm joking on. One truth. All right. Two lies.
Starting point is 00:52:00 And $500. And the crazy thing is Jack, our boss is younger than me. Yeah. All right, we heard from Max. We've heard from Rosie. And now it is time to hear from Jacob, who says the other two are lying. He's the one telling the truth.
Starting point is 00:52:23 So Jacob, what allegedly happened to you, bro? So I was once in London. and I came face to face with Gordon Ramsey. Okay, that sounds believable enough. He lives in London, I think. He does. And did you just see him? What happened?
Starting point is 00:52:41 So I was in London, 24, cameraman for a travel blogger. And we saw him in an airport. So we decided, oh, we'll get some content. We went up to him and started yapping. It was kind of a blur, to be fair. But he eventually challenged us to go find a better Beef Wellington than he can make two days. And so just before you move on, Jacob, you said he was at an airport.
Starting point is 00:53:06 What was the name of said airport? Uh, he throw. Okay. You should have just said that in the first place. And what was the name of the blogger that you worked for? Uh, your childhood friends, if that's all good, he will remain nameless. Oh, okay. And now is that because you don't know the name because it's a made-up story,
Starting point is 00:53:21 or you're keeping them up. Okay, so what? You're having a conversation with an airport, and then he challenges you to go and find a beef Wellington? Yeah. So my mate reckoned that he didn't have a very good Beef Wellington. So that's a sort of dish that he seems to be named. Yeah, yeah, Gordon.
Starting point is 00:53:39 Because of his random theoretical challenge, you guys decided to actually make content out of it and go and find it. Yeah. Okay, and out of interest, what was wrong with Gordon's Beef Wellington, your friend's opinion, and what was the better one you found? Well, see, we didn't actually end up finding a better one. Oh. So we went to one of his restaurants later that day.
Starting point is 00:54:04 I had one, and it was pretty good. And then we spent the next two days going around and trying to figure it out. Do you know the name of the restaurant that Gordon Ramsey owns? Oh, you've got a few. What was the name of the one you got the Beef Wellington from? Should be a simple question. It should be, but, I mean, I was on holiday for three months. Yeah, you still remember the restaurant.
Starting point is 00:54:29 I mean, it's called Restaurant Gordon Ramsey, so that's a nice, easy one. Describe your interaction with Gordon Ramsey. What was said? Did he swear at you? What was the situation there? No, he was actually an incredibly lovely person, completely different from what you watch on, like, TV. Although he did kind of switch once he realized we had cameras on him.
Starting point is 00:54:50 I think he sort of got into that TV personality, and he did swear at us, which it was like, it was like a childhood dream coming through. Yeah, it's like being slapped by Will Smith. Yeah, fair. Yeah. Well, oh gosh, do you think that's what he wants to be known for? Yeah, I don't know about it.
Starting point is 00:55:06 Man, I mean, I think it could have happened. Yeah, I'm tending to lean towards believing you, Jacob. I've seen nothing that I would go, you know what? This is a lie. You didn't remember the name of the restaurant, which is a bit of a red plague. But then if I think of holidays I've been on, I couldn't name all the restaurants I went to. Yeah, but the restaurant that you have a specific story about where you went to, Gordon Ramsey. restaurant because he told you do?
Starting point is 00:55:29 I think though because it's called Gordon Ramsey's restaurant and everyone keeps calling it Gordon Ramsey's restaurant and you'd be like, what is the name of it? You're like, that is the name. Okay. Well, Jacob, our time's up anyway, so no more questions. Are there any questions we missed? Plenty, I think.
Starting point is 00:55:44 I think we're pretty shoddy this money. We just let him be. You're joking? You're not worse. Yes, Dan, you need an energy drink. I feel like you normally would go it hard. Piss off, you said nothing. I was literally grilling him at the start.
Starting point is 00:55:59 Thank you, Jacob. He was almost in tears. You pulled the pin on the grenade and then left. Thanks, Jacob. Thank you guys so much. I need an energy drink. Come on. Okay, what do you think?
Starting point is 00:56:12 Is he lying or telling the truth? And I do not need an energy drink. Sorry. So it just, I don't know, normally, I feel... Sorry. It's the edge. Get your Clint McGahn fix. The edge.
Starting point is 00:56:24 One truth. Two lies. And $500. Clint's Megan's All right, tomorrow we got to award $500 to the person we think is telling the truth If you've missed the stories this week I'll give you a real quick update
Starting point is 00:56:39 This is Max I've moved to London I ended up being a runner on a San Pellegrino ad Stanley Tucci comes to us As like the runners and goes Oh I need some apples Like PA was like yo dude You go drive, find some organic apples
Starting point is 00:56:53 And we spent overall like two days Trying to find him these apples He was a terrible runner Then there was Rosie I once came face to face with Harry Stiles I saw him riding on a lime bike in London I've always wanted a Harry Stiles tattooed If I get him a Sharpie and he can write signature
Starting point is 00:57:13 Or something on me Then I can get that tattooed Which she says she did He drew a picture of a bird on her forearm And she got it tattooed And then we just heard from Jacob So I was in London And I came face to face with Gorge
Starting point is 00:57:29 Gordon Ramsey, cameraman for a travel blogger, and we saw him in an airport. We went up to him and started yapping. He eventually challenged us to go find a better Beef Wellington than he can make two days. Jennifer again. Blah, blah, blah, blah. Truth, lie, lie. Yeah. I'm starting to lean towards where Jennifer's going.
Starting point is 00:57:47 I think the first person is the most believable now. I was hoping this one we had today was going to be the truth. Isn't that funny because Dan said he was a liar? Change your mind now. Do you know the only part? of Jacob's story that we heard earlier that didn't stand up for me. Was when he was talking about how
Starting point is 00:58:05 his friend was a travel blogger and when we asked what his name was, he said he was a childhood friend, so he knows his name, but he said, oh, I'd rather keep him nameless. I'm like, if you're a travel blogger, you want everyone to know about you. You want everyone to follow you.
Starting point is 00:58:17 That's the point of blogging. So why wouldn't you give your bro a shout-out on the air? Let's go to the phone. Unless he doesn't exist. There's a lot of people are wanting to pitch it on this. All right, Danny Al, what are your thoughts? I came Liar
Starting point is 00:58:31 Jacob voice Yeah Liar monotone and just like He'd just Pause in between
Starting point is 00:58:39 He didn't Like why in the airport Is Gordon Ramsey Gonna randomly Just ask you Go find a better Beef Wellington I agree with you Jenny out
Starting point is 00:58:47 And so to many listeners Someone else has said Liar Liar Pants on fire But you think it's more his tone Than what he's saying That causes him to be a liar A bit of both And also, wouldn't you, like, if you know you're telling the truth as such, wouldn't you go and search and make sure the restaurant that you went to or whatever, the name and everything.
Starting point is 00:59:07 It's just everything. There's too many, I don't know, I don't know. Missing details for you. Okay. Okay, Danielle. Okay, Molly, how are you feeling? I think first story, seamless, confident, well-spoken, you know, believable. The Stanley Tucci and the apples, okay.
Starting point is 00:59:24 story, yeah, the second story, third story, just mess, easy light, you know, boring story. Oh, interesting, Molly, okay. I agree with you, Molly. I think we'd make a really good team as two detectives. You could be the bad cop, I could be the good cop. Sam's got, Dan. She's like, I don't know about that. Yeah, you'd be looking, honest to God, you'd be looking for a transfer to get a new partner after a week.
Starting point is 00:59:48 Yeah, because he would just come in it, he'd just want the outfit, he'd want the notepad, he'd want the fad, he'd want the Dan, and if I give him 48 hours where he's handcuffed his own hands to get them, doesn't know how to get them out. I'm the cop that I've given like one of those wooden play guns to. Yeah. We don't trust him with a real glock. You keep doing that voice and they're like, you don't need to speak like that. Yeah. Do them.
Starting point is 01:00:08 Okay, I'm going to blow this case. It's wide open, see? No, he's really, Dan. Okay, get your votes in who you think we should be given the $500 to and this time tomorrow we'll award it and then find out if we've made the right choice or if we're being done by an imposter again, which is exactly what happened last. Yeah, that's suck being done by an imposter.
Starting point is 01:00:27 Yeah, and unfortunately we didn't listen to Meg. Uh-huh. But I'm kind of agreeing with Dan this week. I thought maybe, I still can't believe somebody would look for two days for apples, though, but it seems... Most believable? You could be the third person in Molly and I's partnership. Okay, my nine-year-old had a question for me yesterday that I did not have an answer for, and I'm hoping if I crowdsource, you might be able to give it to me.
Starting point is 01:00:50 Clint Meg and Dan, Edge Breakfast. The Edge. Clint Megan Dan, we all have kids on the show But doesn't mean we always have the answers for them When they come to us with a question Especially if it's one you've never pondered in your life before Which is what happened to me with my 9-year-old Such cool dude
Starting point is 01:01:06 He's the best And at times he wants to He wants to be like Dad And he noticed that Dad's rock in Calvin Klein boxes Briefs, whatever you want to call him And he wasn't And he wanted to change from I guess little boy undies
Starting point is 01:01:21 To Big Boy Andes We all do, we all make the transition, don't we at some point? Oh, really? Yeah, well, I don't know. Andes are all the same for girls. You know, like, undies, undies, no matter what age you are. So that's really interesting that there's a thing for boys. In the early 2000s, there was, you transferred from the briefs, like, your son was into... Silky Davenports.
Starting point is 01:01:39 For a while. Do you remember them? I remember the silky boxer shorts and then people would, like, poke the top out. Is that what you mean? And they were normally Taz? Yeah, they were... Daffy Dark or Tasmanian Devil. Or the Simpsons or something, yeah. Yeah, silk boxer shorts. And then you went into the brief. Yeah, right. Well, they've skipped the silky boxes
Starting point is 01:01:55 And I think they're just going from undies To Calvin Klein briefs. Damn, maybe not Calvin Klein's for most children, Clint, but... Right. And so, my little guy's wearing them, and he loves him now, cool. And then he goes to me, Dad, what's the whole thing in the front for? The little slip thing. Yeah, isn't that where you go wheeze? Well, it is, but...
Starting point is 01:02:17 I said to him, I guess, because he goes, is it so you can, like, it's like a, like an access whole, right? Trying to keep this as as clean as I can with school running things. And I go, well yeah, but nah, like I've never used that. You don't need to use it. No one uses that. But then why is it there? That's what I always
Starting point is 01:02:37 thought it was for. Well, maybe I thought it was from back in the day when, you know, things were more debonair, you know, and the gentlemen were more common. They would use that. I thought you could, as a man, stand up with your jeans on, undo your zipper, Pull your penis through That's the correct name for it
Starting point is 01:02:58 And then you'd have it to put your pants down But it's easier And I think we've learned as a Just grab jeans and boxes together And just pull them down Yeah Also I'd be worried about the kinking of the hose Going through the gap
Starting point is 01:03:12 Because otherwise you don't want to When you holster it again All of a sudden it's uncinked There's always gonna be a bit still in the hose I would be surprised If there's anybody listening anybody male that's got the slit in their boxer shorts that uses it.
Starting point is 01:03:27 Yeah, producer car, but Mr. Brady, you guys using the slit? No one's doing that, are they? No, Jake doesn't. No, never. No, man, not for me. Can you go and test it for me? Can you go and do how... I'll try it now. So you pull your zip down
Starting point is 01:03:40 and then you pull it through the gaps. That's how I always thought men did it. Why else do? Usually I don't have a slip, but today I do. Is it like an air vent? Because he's asked me what it's for, and I'm like, I don't know, bro. haven't really overthought it before.
Starting point is 01:03:54 Has he done it? Yeah, I've got it through. Yeah. And to be honest, it is convenient to a point, but I think it's much more convenient just to now, I'll put it back in, and poke it over, over the top. And see, now I would go that any day of the week. Because you're having to do, pull two bits of fabric aside,
Starting point is 01:04:12 do a little bit of a Johnson removal. Yeah. I mean, because we don't have it, obviously, for girls, we just... Yeah, is anyone using the slit hole on a box a brief? So what it's for? I don't know. That's what... I don't know.
Starting point is 01:04:25 I'm going to check. This isn't really a photo for the girls, unfortunately. Yeah. Unless you're a seamist. Are you designed? Or Meg, just... I know they're all technical terms that you're using, but... A seamstress.
Starting point is 01:04:37 Thank you. I think they're becoming less and less common. A seamist. Yeah. I know that the Calvin Klein's don't have the slit. I know a lot of the bonds don't anymore, so maybe they are phasing it out. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:49 Apparently it exists for bathroom access and better air flow. Yeah, and I guess they're, just never ask guys, goes, anyone using that? Can we get rid of it? You can get rid of it. No thanks. Well, Alan's called through.
Starting point is 01:04:58 Alan, using the slit or not? Alan? Yeah, mate. Having pants on. Well, you don't have pants on. What do you mean? Yeah, yeah. So if you're not wearing...
Starting point is 01:05:17 You just have an easy access. So it just is always out. You don't sound like you're from Calvin Klein. Yeah, but again, it would be even easier. I don't know, let's not listen to Alan. Okay. Why don't you guys give it a go today and purely only use that and see how it is? It's less convenient.
Starting point is 01:05:33 She says, is it for old people with low mobility? Even then, though. I don't think it's that much easier. Is anyone using it? I'll pass on my findings to my little fella. Let's not take... My nine-year-old. Let's not take Helen's word as gospel.
Starting point is 01:05:49 Erica, from her little nudge, joins us next. She has the perfect prop for all things. Relationship-based. Seamus, meck. That's God. As the least worst. Worst things that were said in that. whole break.
Starting point is 01:06:04 Listen live weekdays from sex on Rover and catch up wherever. This is Clint Meg and Dan. The Edge. Clint Meg and Dan, we all have kids on the show, but doesn't mean we always have the answers for them when they come to us with a question, especially if it's one you've never pondered in your life before, which is what happened to me with my nine-year-old. Such cool dude. He's the best.
Starting point is 01:06:24 He is the best. At times he wants to, thanks a babe. He wants to be like Dad. And he noticed that Dad's rocking Calvin Klein Boxes. Oh yeah? Briefs, whatever you want to call him. And he wasn't, and he wanted to change from, you know, I guess, little boy undies to big boy undies. We all do.

And the early 2000s, there was, you transferred from the briefs, like, your son was into... Silky Davenports.
Starting point is 01:06:56 For a while. Do you remember them? I remember the silky boxer shorts and then people would, like, poke the top out. Is that what you mean? And they were normally Taz? Yeah, they were... Daffy Dark or Tasmanian Devil. Or the Simpsons or something, yeah.
Starting point is 01:07:07 Silk Boxer shorts and then you went into the brief. Yeah, right. Well, they've skipped the silky boxes and I think they're just going from undies to Calvin Klein briefs. Damn. Maybe not Calvin Klein's for most children, Clint. Right. And so my little guy's wearing them and he loves him now.
Starting point is 01:07:23 And then he goes to me, Dad, what's the whole thing in the front for? The little slit thing. There's a slip thing. Isn't that where you go wheeze? Well, it is, but... I said to him, I guess, because he goes, is it so you can, like, it's like a, like an access hole, right?
Starting point is 01:07:41 Trying to keep this as, you know, clean as I can with school running things. And I go, well, yeah, but nah, like, I've never used that. You don't need to use it. You don't use as that. But then why is it there? That's what I always thought it was for. Well, maybe I thought it was from back in the day when, you know, things were more debonair, you know,
Starting point is 01:08:00 and the gentlemen were more common. They would use that. I thought you could, as a man, stand up with your jeans on, undo your zipper, pull your penis through. That's the correct name for it. And then you'd have it to put your pants down.
Starting point is 01:08:18 But it's easier, and I think we've learned as a... Just grab jeans and boxes together and just pull them down. Also, I'd be worried about the kinking of the hose going through the gap, because otherwise you don't want to, when you holster it again, all of a sudden it's unkinked, there's always going to be a bit still in the hose. I would be surprised if there's anybody listening, any mail that's got the slit in their boxer shorts, that uses it.
Starting point is 01:08:44 Yeah, producer car, do you guys using the slit? No one's doing that, are they? No, no, no, no, no for me. Can you go and test it for me? Can you go and do how... I'll try it down. So you pull your zip down and then you pull it through the, gaps. That's how I always thought men did it.
Starting point is 01:09:02 Why else do? Usually I don't have a slip, but today I do. Is it like an air vent? Because he's asked me what it's for and I'm like, I don't know, bro. I haven't really overthought it before. Has he done it? Yeah, I've got it through. And to be honest, it is convenient to a point, but I think it's much more convenient
Starting point is 01:09:18 just to now, I'll put it back in and poke it over, over the top. And see, now I would go that any day of the week. Because you're having to do pull two bits of fabric aside, do a little bit of a Johnson removal. Yeah. I mean, because we don't have it,
Starting point is 01:09:33 obviously for girls, we just... Yeah, is anyone using the slit hole on a box of brief? Is that what it's for? I don't know. That's what... I don't know. I'm going to check.
Starting point is 01:09:42 This isn't really a foreigner for the girls, unfortunately. Yeah. Unless you're a seamist. Oh, Meg, just... I know they're all technical terms that you're using, but... A seamstress.
Starting point is 01:09:54 Sorry. Seamest. Thank you. I think they're becoming less and less common. A seamist. Seamist. Yeah. know that the Calvin Klein's don't have the slit.
Starting point is 01:10:02 I know a lot of the bonds don't anymore, so maybe they are phasing it out. Yeah, apparently it exists for bathroom access and better airflow. Yeah, and I guess they've just never asked guys, goes, anyone using that? Can we get rid of it? You can get rid of it. No thanks. Well, Alan's called through. Alan, using the slit or not?
Starting point is 01:10:18 Alan. Yeah, mate. That slits use for when you're not having pants on. When you don't have pants on? What do you mean? Yeah, yeah. So if you're not wearing jeans and you're in a... It just sits out.
Starting point is 01:10:35 the exit. So it just is always out. You don't sound like you're from Calvin Klein. Yeah. But again, it would be even easier then, let's not listen to Alan. Okay. Why do you guys give it a go today and purely only use that and see how it is?
Starting point is 01:10:49 It's less convenient. I'll tell you that. Is it for old people with low mobility? Even then, though. I don't think it's that much easier. Is anyone using it? I'll pass on my findings to my little fella. Let's not take... My nine-year-old.
Starting point is 01:11:04 Let's not take Helen's word as gospel. Erica from A Little Nudge joins us next. She has the perfect prop for all things. Relationship. Faced. Seamist, Mac. That's God. One of your worst.
Starting point is 01:11:19 Worst things that were said in that whole break. Your favorite radio show? It's Podcast 4. Edge Breakfast. Clint Megan Dan. Edge. Erica from A Little Nudge on Instagram. If you don't follow the Instagram page, you definitely should do some juicy stuff there with people living.
Starting point is 01:11:33 Very exciting lives, Erica. You must read some of these and be like, like, oh my God. You have no idea. Sometimes I'll get a DM and I'll actually think to myself, look at this gift you've given me. Yeah, yeah. Like, people are wild.
Starting point is 01:11:46 I think this one would probably come up a bit. So let's get into it. It is a message sent into us saying I went on a date with a guy. I wasn't interested in a second date. So I sent him in text letting him know that I didn't feel a connection at the end of the night. He came back asking for half the money for the drinks and his bank account number. How would I even respond to that? I can see you shaking your head.
Starting point is 01:12:05 I mean, how tacky of this guy that he can't just accept that any date you go on and offer to pay guarantees you nothing, okay? You should be doing it. It shouldn't be expensive. It's a drink. It's a coffee. It's so transactional if they think payment means they're getting a second date. His ego was bruised.
Starting point is 01:12:32 That's it. I would probably ignore him. And I never ignore people. However, he's out of balance. It sounds like she did everything that she should do, which is kindly tell him she doesn't want to see him again. That's her obligation to say no. I would block him personally.
Starting point is 01:12:48 What is your rule when it comes to paying things on a date? Do you think first date split it? Like one person pays, the guy or the girl? Everyone is so confused these days. So generally I recommend the person asking for the date is at least prepared to pay for the date. Now, it's not lost on me that men who date women are doing most of the asking, right? Meaning they have to be prepared to pay.
Starting point is 01:13:13 So if that's the case, I do recommend if you're a guy who dates women, be prepared to pay. If you're a woman on this date, I do always suggest that you make an offer, not an empty offer, not like a fake I'm going to trick him and see what he says offer, but like I like the words, would you like me to contribute? Because it kind of assumes that he's paying anyway, but it's still a genuine offer. Now, advice to women who date men, men are confused. Some men would never take you up on your offer because they were taught that you pay for a first date. Some men are afraid not to take you up on your offer because they're like she offered.
Starting point is 01:13:47 I don't want to offend her by not taking her up on it. Everyone's confused. I don't have hard and fast rules anymore. The other thing I want to touch on is let's say you're on a date, you know you have zero interest in going on another date. Do you let someone pay for you? That's completely up to you. A lot of people will offer to split if they know they don't want to see the other person because they never want to feel obligated to anything.
Starting point is 01:14:10 You're not for what it's worth. As long as you say thank you, you're fine. But I can understand why people would make that choice. And if that makes you feel more comfortable, I support that choice. That's a great answer. That's confusing. Matt, love to just close the book on one of these arguments that we've had forever. Thank you, Erica.
Starting point is 01:14:29 Oh, my gosh. My pleasure. Oh, wait on to be Ajor, Phyrus, a text 3343. Ever been on a cheapskate date or used to date? Someone was a massive cheapskate and you were like, oh my God,
Starting point is 01:14:41 they were the worst. Yes. You know what, I'm lucky that my wife the date before she went on a date with me, she went on a date with a guy who forgot his wallet, in quote Haitian marks. My wife tells me about a guy
Starting point is 01:14:53 that she was dating and maybe they were younger as well. Like, yeah, they're like 17, 18. But she had paid for drinks, and then they went to a movie, and then he asked her how much the drinks, what they came to. And he's like,
Starting point is 01:15:05 ah, well, the movie was more expensive, so they kind of worked it out, and I think she owed him like $6 so it was even. Oh, God. And they were dating. It wasn't a first date. They were dating. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 01:15:15 I know money's tough for a lot of people, but also then don't go on a date. I think that's what a lot of people say. It's like, if you can't afford to go on, at least, you know, pay for half, then don't go on the day. Or just go somewhere else that doesn't cost, you can.
Starting point is 01:15:28 Oh, producer Brock. He had to do free dates because he was doing like four dates a week or something at times. Yeah, I went on a lot of walks for dates. Not a lot of walks. I would have ghosted you. By the way, morning, producer Brock, if you're still listening to The Edge, mate,
Starting point is 01:15:41 I know you do from time to time. Hope you're doing well, buddy. All right, cheap skate dates. What are you got? Maybe you're still dating them. Yeah, maybe it was a thing that was sort of endearing at the start. I'm like, I forgot my wallet. You were like, how cute.
Starting point is 01:15:56 Yeah, you got examples. How cheap were they? We're talking cheap skate dates and you are not disappointing. Someone said they went on a date with a dude just last week. And he asked her to chip in for petrol money. She said it was about a seven minute trip. Honestly, that is a red flag straight in it or straight away. Oh, my gosh.
Starting point is 01:16:16 They must know. They aren't like not aware. Someone else said that they got a pizza between them. And he made sure that she had exactly half. So he had the other half during the date. That's better than the one who ordered. I fill at steak with garlic bread. She had a salad and then he insisted that he split the bill.
Starting point is 01:16:34 50-50. Maybe this is an old-fashioned opinion, but going on the bills, we've talked about it before, the man should offer to pay every time. Is that old-fashioned? Yeah, but I think it's nice. You can always offer it. Somebody texts and say, when my mum and dad were dating, and he shouted fish and chips, except he bought himself a fish
Starting point is 01:16:52 and only got mum a fritter. Very specific. She's obviously remembered. He goes, is she fritter? Is she fritter? Is she fried? That potato frit? All right, Mal, morning.
Starting point is 01:17:03 Morning. What morning? Cheapscape dates. What happened to you, Mal? I went on the date with a man, which is he actually spent a fair amount of money, but then he spent the entire time telling me about how lucky I was that he spent that money. Oh, yuck! You're so lucky I treated you and spent that extra to get your window seat.
Starting point is 01:17:24 If he did, he was all like, see the seat that we've got here, I paid the extra $30 so that we could sit here. Oh yeah I mean sure it's nice he did it But just kind of really rubbing it in Yeah and so now you're married with kids I No definitely not
Starting point is 01:17:41 I'm married to a wonderful man that is very generous But the thing that got me the most Is that he was like I can afford to do this Because I make such Like told me how much money he made And I was like well that's quite interesting Because I make more money than you And he was just shut down from that point
Starting point is 01:17:55 Oh that would be delicious Yum yum yum yum yum yum It's so weird sharing your salary on a date. Oh my God. Thanks, Mel. I love that. Hey, Mel, I'm going to saw you out with our edge must have.
Starting point is 01:18:07 Not that you need it because you're rich. But we're going to a paddock to pantry voucher. They're a family-run online supermarket and deliver. Cheaper groceries, New Zealand-wide, and we'll send you a $50 voucher. Amazing. Thank you very much. Have a good day. You too.
Starting point is 01:18:22 She's kicking goals, eh? Thanks for Sharon. Jakana, morning. Good morning. Oh, yeah. Was your mom and dad that did the fish and chips? So funny. And so does your mum
Starting point is 01:18:32 just not let your dad live it down that she only got a fritter and he got fish? No, well she shared the story with us so they're not together anymore but she shared that story with us like multiple times. Does she like fritters though? Is she a fritter girl?
Starting point is 01:18:49 She is actually a fish girl. Okay, oh yeah, so she was just jealous. Somebody sticks and saying I use my McDonald's points for free food when I take my dates out. Oh, don't take it. a date to Maccas. I mean, I love Maccas as much as the next guy, but a date, I don't know.
Starting point is 01:19:04 This is my favourite text that just come through. They used a restaurant voucher, which is fine. So they took me out to the restaurant and then used a voucher. But then still insisted that I paid off. Oh, he brought the voucher. I don't blame him. So what? You use a $200 voucher and say
Starting point is 01:19:20 transfer me $100, so you've just cashed in part of your voucher. Well, I cast a voucher as money. I'm joking, obviously. But I feel like, if you're using a voucher, that's a part of it? Good on. I think paying for half the bill with the voucher, fine. But if you paid the whole bill with a voucher and then ask them for the cash...
Starting point is 01:19:39 That's insane. That's insane. It depends on how many dates are going on. Like, if you like our old producer Brock going on for a week. Stop it. He's now a boss of a radio station. Oh, he's probably not still doing it. Oh, he might be.
Starting point is 01:19:53 He might be. What he's a catch if you get if someone finally screws him down, eh? Screws him down. What a catch. Screws him down.
