This is a podcast from Rover.
See your mornings with Clint Meag and Dan.
Get breakfast.
Good morning, 6 a.m. Thursday.
I'm already being bullied behind the scenes.
Oh, Clint.
You just need to stop doing really cringe statuses on your social media.
I'm applied to get an Esther so I can go into America and ask for your Instagram,
Facebook and TikTok handle if you have them.
So Donald Trump or whoever can go through your social media, make sure you're not a baddie.
And Meg's been digging up old.
statuses from back in the day.
Baddy. You're a baddie with the amount of selfies
that you're putting up saying, chilling and enjoying
a bloody long summer, winky face.
Bloody long summer.
My God, you need to be imposed those meta-bans
that are being imposed in America.
Overnight, now it's like young people
will have a time limit on there in America
on Facebook and Instagram.
Oh, that'd be me, young people?
No, no, they just need to extend it to old people like Clint
that are cringe.
All right, are we doing that?
again, are you today on the show?
Oh yeah, I see you there on the sheet.
After 830, cool.
Prime time.
Yeah, and we have to decide in the imposter
who's the person that is telling the truth today
because we've had three stories.
Two of them lying.
One of them the truth.
Steve Day.
Actually, let's go with Meg this week
because you and I, to be fair,
we followed the majority online,
but Meg was in the minority,
so she lost, and it turns out Meg was right
and we were wrong.
Yeah, well, I'm going to have to follow the listeners,
I think, because they're the ones
that seem to, okay, don't do that.
They let us down a bloody...
Slippery, dirty path last week.
We let Meg have the final say.
She collates everything.
And then finally she is the deciding vote.
Perfect.
No objections from her?
She's the smartest.
Well, I don't want it all on my shoulders, if I mean, honest.
We can do it as if we got good shoulders.
That's what we call you the pack horse.
You're our mule today.
Broad shoulders.
The Edge is the home of Clint McGendam.
The Edge.
Coffee catch up before we officially kick the show off.
He's a bit loose before 630.
for our early 6am club.
We've got a next door neighbour.
We've spoken about it quite a bit about my cat,
Kimmy, who has been accused of impregnating numerous other felines around our neighbourhood.
Which can't be true because your cat's gay.
Exactly.
And he's being neutered.
So it's impossible.
That's probably more.
Sorry, that's really more.
Both nails in his coffin, really, aren't they?
But we were accused of someone saying he keeps coming over and humping their male cat.
Yes, that's right.
And so...
And they'll like, what are you going to do about?
But the woman actually yelled at my wife, Hannah, saying,
stop your cat from coming over and doing this to our male cat.
What do you do? Sit him down and give him a chat about the birds and the bees.
No, exactly. That's what Hannah said.
She was like, what could we do?
We can't constantly watch a cat.
Anyway, so someone has posted on our page last night,
our community page, saying that their cat has just given birth to a litter of kittens.
And they don't know who the father is.
And so they're doing this accusatory thing where they're going,
if you've got male cats,
you need to tell us because we need to know who the father is.
What are they going to do?
My child support.
Yeah, yeah, it's very bizarre.
I don't know what's going on.
Yeah, because you're having the kids every second weekend.
Yeah.
And Hannah's now worried that we're going to get again accused
of our darling Kimmy who has been neutered and gay.
Isn't it the responsibility of the owner of a female cat?
I would have them fixed?
You should just...
If you have any cat or a dog, get them fixed.
Just give them fixed.
Yeah.
If it's still expensive for you, there are charities that do.
for free as well.
In fact, I think you can take them to the SPCA.
I don't know if you still can.
You used to be able to.
How fun for the family and the kids, though.
I never had an animal growing up,
but having an animal that also has like a litter.
My first time seeing birth was a cat giving birth.
Cool memory, I reckon, as a kid, you never forget that.
And back in the 90s, you didn't get your cat's fixed, eh?
Because I'm the same.
Cat Tick gave birth to a litter of cat kittens.
And it was gorgeous.
It was a great time.
Yeah.
Yeah, but yeah.
And then heartbreaking, though, because then you give them all away.
or sell them
you've got to be devastating for the mum
I know I know that's the thing right
I mean I think we're so quick
with animals to be like oh well let's sell up
their cute little kittens and it's like that mum just gave birth
we're so mean to like animals
You should have to keep one
Yeah I mean all of them for a while would be nice
Yeah
So anyway there's just a cautionary tale
So what's what was it? Am I taking away from this?
Get your cat fix
But they still get accused of it
I think that's the moral of the story
Yeah, or lock your horny cat inside
After hours, give them a curfew
Just say they're gay so it covers your ass
In that way, you know, like in terms of...
I was half listening.
Something about gay and covering your assing.
Yeah, I heard that too.
Maybe you should listen up, that's the moral of the story.
Oh right, damn it, missed it.
All right, next on the show,
Overthinkers podcast is a podcast we do after the show
and Meg was asking us if we had a motto,
like a life motto.
Well, that's because I asked you the same questions
that Dolly Parting got asked in her famous interview
and we compared answers.
And she had to answer her motto.
Before you hear what ours were,
do you live by some sort of motto,
whether it be in your career or in your personal life?
It might even be someone else's motto
that you've taken over and made your own.
A mantra of sorts, you could say.
Wait until you hear dance.
He did not get his from anyone else.
I think yours definitely came from you alone.
Yeah.
Get your Clint McGinn and Dan Fix.
This is the Overtinkers podcast.
And to entice you to do so, every now and then we may play your highlight from the show where you go, oh, I miss that.
That's okay, we got you.
We got you.
Meg was talking to us about mottoes yesterday, among other things.
Yeah, it was an interview that Polly Dolly Parton.
Why don't I keep doing that?
Polytarton.
Polytarton did in 2012 one of her mottos was about being kind of nice and I said, Dan, what's your motto, basically.
We did a little bit of a whip around.
We eventually got to Dan's, which was very original.
What is your motto?
I don't think I have one.
I've got a dad one.
Let's make our motos.
If it's important to them, it's important to me.
That's my dad motto.
It's very good.
I love that.
And it's so important.
Clint, oh my gosh.
Just having a parent interested in your interests is really means something.
I think mine is just like if you can't smile, make someone else.
Wow.
What is that?
If you can't smile, make someone else.
What are you trying to be?
Are you trying to be Mel Robbins?
something.
We're not clipping that shit up
put a shit in the line.
That is honestly the most
natural David Breit moment you've ever had
in your life. If you can't smile,
make someone else smile. Write that down.
Dan Mewy, 2026.
No shares.
I know.
All right, so Dan, I did send you home
to try and think of some other ones after that one.
I do live, but the thing is I don't live by
just one saying. I think that
there's multiple sayings that you sort of live by.
Right.
Like, well, have you done your homework?
Mick said find a new motto.
Make some new ones.
I had forgotten, but I've thought up a few.
Okay, cool.
Don't judge a book by its cover.
And that's just saying, you know, on...
No, we know that one because it's very famous, Dan.
You didn't make that one.
Don't make a quick decision on something before you really understand it.
Rome wasn't built in a day.
And that's just saying, you know...
Again, and Dan, that's very much so that is a well-known saying.
In fact, probably one of the most...
Life is like riding a bicycle.
to keep your balance, you must keep moving.
And that's just saying, you know, always looking forward.
Yeah, are you reading these?
This two shall pass.
He's absolutely.
All he's done is just googled quotes, I think, or mottoes to live by.
Full seven times.
Stand up, hey.
And that's just saying, you know, get up.
Actually, we should let him describe them glad because I don't know if he does know what they're meaning.
There is no growth without struggle.
Ask the butterfly.
Did you just make that one up?
I think so.
That sucks, bro.
Oh.
Yeah.
I prefer Rome wasn't built a day.
Because that's just saying
Rome is a big city.
Yeah.
And it's saying, you know,
sometimes the good things take time.
I think that's what it's saying.
No, that's mainland cheese.
Oh, bugger.
You've stolen that.
Oh, well.
Cheese and Rome.
Cheese and Rome.
Cheese and Rome weren't built in a day.
Yeah.
Cheese does take a long time, I think.
It does.
The best cheeses, the tasties.
You're going to leave them.
Yeah, sometimes.
I'm going to Blue Bane.
Ticks podcast to 33443.
If you want more Clint Megan Dan dribble.
Or not.
You don't have to.
And I'll say this.
Don't do what someone else tells you unless you want to do it.
Cool.
Dan we're you.
Clint Meg and Dan.
The Edge Breakfast.
The Edge.
Clint Megan Dan's Scandal.
In Scandal this morning, Tim Curry has passed away at the age of 80,
famous from things like the Rocky Horror Pips show.
Home Alone
And it
Um
Hi Georgie
Aren't you going to say
Hello
Oh but the new it
No the older
The original
The 80s version
An incredible actor
He suffered from a major stroke of 2012
And has had
I guess
Medical troubles since then
And 80 as well
So Dolly Pardon passed away
At 80s
It seems young nowadays
It is
It is very distressing
To me
That 80 is
is when we're losing these legends
and the Royal Guard played 9 to 5
in honour of Dolly yesterday.
Cool.
It made me think
how seeing all these tributes from Dolly
and amazing stories.
Did you see what Eminem posted?
No.
Eminem posted a letter that Dolly Parton once wrote him.
They never met and she said,
I really hope to meet you one day
because you're an incredible young man
and I'll read in the next scandal.
and I sat there and I thought
I'd never heard that story
and all these stories filtered through yesterday
of the people that met Dolly famous and not famous
and what a woman to have lived this life
that when she passed
everybody had a good story about her
Is it not hard though
because I love, I want to hear that story
right of the letter that she wrote to him in
it's not hard for celebrities to go
I one time got a letter from Dolly Potter
and then everyone goes, it's not about you mate
do you know what I mean?
Like because there were people that did that
I think this is showing how hateable she is though
Penitia. It was after he was
I think nominated for some sort of award
and she said that he deserved it and she would one day like to meet him
and then his caption was Never Got To Meet You
I know and I'm like how is it good oh that's sad
Yeah how busy are you that you don't go sure where are you dolly
I'll like the time I'm not working nine to five
Yeah
Yeah I thought so too
That was a gag there anyway
Are we just it in Auckland
The Edge Clint Meg and Dan
First call on the day next love to chat with you
0800 the year
To let us know what you got up to
Either last night
What you got coming up this weekend
Wife and I are doing a staycation.
Oh, that means one thing, doesn't it?
Free?
She's probably hoping, but I'll see how I feel.
I don't want to get too bloated from dinner.
Is that a pay-po?
No.
Hey!
Just a nice little, you know, just investing into the marriage, you know?
Guys, you just came out from holiday.
Yeah, I know.
You've got to keep that fire hot, mate.
Listen live weekdays from sex on Rover and catch up wherever.
This is Clint, Meg and Dan.
The Edge.
For this call of the day.
First goal on the day
We've got Richie on this morning
Hey Richie
What's up Richie?
Oh hold on Rich
That's my bad, not yours morning
Exactly
Out of control, Richie
He didn't have your phone
Fader up
Yeah, I figure as much
He's a couple of princes
Yeah
He needs to concentrate on the show
And stop trying to be funny
Behind the scenes
That's my thing
Richie
I don't agree more
Yeah
I just see you drive a Toyota Aqua
Richie
Now this is the thing
I've got a bit of a thing
With Toyota Aqua drivers
Every time I see one on the road
I avoid them at all cost
because usually they're terrible drivers.
That's what Dan says.
But there's always exceptions to the rule as well.
So are you that exception, Richie?
Oh, actually, I'm 100% with Dan.
I don't drive a personal car to Toyota Aqua.
That's just a work car.
Oh, yes.
I fear anyone who drives an Aqua.
Oh, so you actually hate Aqua drivers
and you're forced to be one when you're working?
Correct.
I was actually behind one yesterday,
and it was an Auckland Transport one,
so it's a government-owned one.
and he was indicating left
and turned right.
That's not possible.
It's not possible.
It's not possible.
It's laid on the horn
because my wife calls the horn an educational device.
And I laid on the horn and said,
Use your indicator properly.
Out the window.
Did you actually?
Those exact words?
Well, I used another one as well, Richie,
but I won't say with that one.
Don't you get nervous that somebody goes,
that's Stan from the edge?
Yeah, good one, mate.
Yeah, but I also kind of want them to think that.
So then they go, God, yeah, I should have to do.
should have been driving better.
Oh, because it's
because it's Dan's such a badass at all.
Yeah, Dan's such a bad ass, right?
Richard says you're married.
Yes.
That's cool.
It's nice.
How long have you been married?
What's the date today?
The 27th.
Oh, six months of tomorrow.
Yay.
Oh, wow, fresh.
So you're still on the honeymoon stage
doing it like every second day and stuff?
What the hell?
My rabbits, mate.
Yeah.
Remember that?
I love how we.
interested Clint is to talk to someone that's in a happy marriage.
I remember the first six months, geez,
because we waited five years before we slept together until we were married.
So, we were making up for lost time.
And no kids at that point.
That just sounds boring.
Yeah.
Our producer Brady's eyes just got real wide.
You're five years, bro.
Isn't that incredible?
And any issues last night on the security rounds?
None.
None at all.
That's a good night.
Good, good, good.
How much time do you get to spend on your phone when you're on security?
I'm driving Clint so none
Yeah, good
But he isn't a Toyota Aqua
So I'd worry
Driving slow
Yes
No good on you Richie
Hey Richie I want to sort you out with one of our edge must-haves
Paddock to Pantry
They've given us a $50 dollar voucher
That you can go spend in their online supermarket
Oh you guys are too good
Hey you guys are way too good
Oh no
I'll stop it
You're very welcome mate
Thanks Richie
He's a good man in they
Keeping our country safe late at night
like Batman.
And he always messages nice and early.
We love our early morning 6am club that text through.
Paddock to Pantry,
delivers cheaper groceries,
better meat and fresh quality produce
New Zealand-wide, too, by the way.
And Deb's just text through.
I will have a fleet of ACWAS.
I'm a driving instructor,
and I warn students to be aware of ACWES.
Really?
That's a thing.
Trust me.
So good.
It's a thing.
90640, up next on the Edge.
Your favorite radio show?
And podcast for.
Edge Breakfast.
Clint Megan Dan
Dad.
It's time to get naughty at 640.
Got a clip here of a kid finding out how babies are made.
Dad must have told him the kid looks like it might be 10.
When is the time to do that now?
Because the internet's a thing.
Oh, I think Daisy already knows.
Yeah, the tricky thing is.
Really?
Yeah, she sent me pregnant.
She knows, well, not how they're made, but she's semi-pregnant.
Then she goes, how the baby get in there?
And then I was just like...
What did you tell her?
I think, what did I say?
I just said...
Be careful here?
Because there might be kids.
No, I know.
But I just said, well, the baby is half of daddy and half of mum.
And I don't even...
I don't think I directly said how it happened, obviously.
Well, I don't think she knows.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
So this is...
Is this about, like, how...
The dad told the...
Right, not how babies are made.
Yeah, I get it.
I do think you probably have to tell kids early than you think.
Because if you wait until you think they should know,
they probably are.
already do and they've been, or they've been told
a warped version of it.
The annoying thing about this clip is that dad's
gone and chucked that bloody saxophone music over it
and it's pretty loud. But the kid
we pick up the clip where he's
just found out that mom and dad take
the clothes off and things and he's devoid.
Well, it's not like you think. John,
everybody knows it. It's just new to you.
You literally take your clothes
off and do that? That's how
it's how it works with humans.
Yeah, same as with animals, but they don't
take the clothes off because they're not.
Oh, you know, you actually did that with Mom?
A bunch of times.
No.
He's devastated that that happened to his mom.
I remember the day I found out.
I remember. I was probably 13. 13, 14.
That's quite late.
Yeah, I know it was.
But I was given a book called Where Did I Come From?
And then there was another one.
Everybody's seen that book from the 19th.
Yeah, what's happening to me?
What's happening to my body?
Where did I come from?
How do they spell that?
Like normal spelling?
What is it wrong with you?
It's an educational case book.
You need to take you, check yourself before you wreck yourself, bro.
Have you any riddle in?
Yeah, maybe Clint needs something.
And so, yeah, I got that.
I remember reading it.
And it was given to me from my Australian cousin, like as a hand me down.
My mum got it from them.
Yeah.
And then I remember asking my mum, is this what they do in Australia?
Thinking it was like an Australian thing.
And she was like, no, that's how we all do.
Wouldn't that be funny if we all did a different ways, depending on which country you're in?
Yeah.
And maybe we do it.
I don't know if those are still a thing.
It was an easy way to tell your kids
you just give them a book and go go to town on this.
My kids found out a pretty direct way
by asking GROC, which is like the Siri for Tesla.
Were they found out through AI?
Yeah, they were just because GROC is in the car
and you can push it and it can navigate you
and it answers questions and they can play games.
But isn't Grog the one that's quite sexual?
It's the Elon Musk version.
Yeah, but I know he did a sex bot one.
This is just like his version of Siri.
And the kid said,
a baby's made.
And I was like, oh, this could be funny just to see what it says,
because I've got my finger hovering.
And then it goes, when a man takes us and puts it inside a woman and then he,
and I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa.
And I'm like trying to turn the bloody thing off.
It was just very explicit.
What did you, it's not explicit.
It is just factual.
I was like, whoa, man.
I figured out that this is a 10-year-old girl.
She referenced a 9-year-old boy's voice and go, sorry, mate, you sound too young.
Talk to mum and dad.
I mean, it is an AI supposed to be smart.
Should have known that that there was two kids in the car.
That's sad.
Yeah.
Or isn't Clint meant to be smart and not ask AI on speakerphone?
I think we can't assume that.
Okay, sorry.
After the last 45 minutes of radio, I think it's become a bodily clear.
Do you have good or bad memories of the birds and the bees chat?
Like, where were you told?
Was it the wrong place, the wrong time, the wrong information?
Because it is a core memory for a lot of people when you find out.
I think my mum was a single mum and she did a great job.
I think maybe with a male is probably a dad thing to say to explain to the male son.
I don't know.
I think I was like 9 or 10.
I'm dreading the day I have to do that.
Meg was 9, you were 13?
I think so.
I think I found out at school.
I don't think I was told by my parents.
Oh, your health class was wild for people who hadn't had to chat.
No, just from like kids with older siblings.
A lot of bananas lost their lives in there.
Yeah, yeah, they did.
Your favorite radio show?
In Podcast 4.
Edge Breakfast, Clint Meg and Dan.
Cute little clip going around of a kid.
devastated when he finds out about the birds and the bees and how he was made and what his
dad did to his mum?
I think it's actually quite timely.
I've just realised I think my first actual knowledge of that was probably from the Rocky Horror
Picture Show.
And after Tim Curry died today, I was just thinking about it this morning how many times I watched
that movie or the stage show.
And that's when I found out that people probably way too young to watch that.
My parents made a mistake by letting me watch it.
I loved it.
My daughter's watched the full season of friends almost three times now.
And so I think she's probably learning a lot more than I think.
But the problem is I feel like there are little holes where things are implied but not fully described.
So I need to make sure those holes are filled in the right way.
That explains a lot.
That must have made your freak flag fly me when you watch the rocky horror.
I think so.
I think it did make me a bit of foot.
I don't know.
I don't want to say I was a freak.
In a good way.
In a good way.
Yeah.
Definitely was that.
Well, I don't recommend it.
But I also don't not recommend it.
Somebody said their dad gave him a book and said, read this.
Come to me, if you've got any questions.
Oh, yeah.
Was it the, where did I come from book?
Probably.
I think it was genuinely like a really good way to find out
because there was no actual picture ever.
It was just all drawn, like, you know, cartoons?
Cartoons.
Does it still exist?
I'm going to look right now.
Where did I come from for the 1990s?
I'm sure it's not PC now.
Maria, do you have a little bit of PTSD from the chat?
I don't.
but I think I disturbed my child when I told him
he had all of the questions
and I kind of, you know, told him the truth
and he looked at me with this sort of devastating face
and he was like, so you've done that twice.
Yeah, just twice, funny.
Only twice.
Just you and your sibling?
Yeah, absolutely twice.
How old was he when you told him or are you out of interest?
I think he was probably about nine.
Okay.
Yeah, and really wanted to know and wanted to know what happened.
But, yeah, when the truth came out, he was kind of like, I said it's not as bad as you think.
Okay, on a level of like one to a hundred, 100 being like you gave him every single detail, where did your chat sit, do you think?
Like, how much do you give?
80%, 90%, I would say, oh, goodness, yeah, probably 80.
I didn't give all the gory details.
But, you know, they need to know.
Yeah, okay.
It's hard to know what age to do it now.
Yeah, it is.
It is.
And I wanted to get in before school.
Yeah, before somebody else tells them.
Yeah, true.
Bex, good morning.
Oh, morning.
And my mother-in-law decided to tell my children about it when they were.
I think they were like seven and nine and showed them a book,
explained everything, including self-love.
and that she self-love.
Oh, my God.
Oh, no, you're joking back.
Wait, without your permission, clearly.
Without my permission.
How did you say?
And happily told me about it, so excited afterwards and didn't understand while I was pissed off.
She told her grandchildren how she likes to self-love.
To a seven-year-old grandkids.
Oh, that is nightmares.
Oh, that would have fractured the relationship I would have thought.
Oh, God.
My goodness.
What's the relationship like now with mother-in-law?
It's quite good.
She's the ex-mother-in-law now, but we're all right.
Is that the reason your actual marriage broke out?
Wait, when you went and told you're a partner, did they side with their mum and go, well, you know what I mean?
Well, somebody had to do it.
Yeah.
Or were they like, oh my God, that's shocking.
I'm going to talk to mum.
I think he was just as pissed off, but didn't say anything.
Oh, yeah, classic.
Oh, the cat's got an opinion as well.
Crazy.
Could you imagine?
It's just so hard to know when to do it though now, eh?
Seven-year-old doesn't need to know that Nana's doing that to herself.
No, true.
It's harder.
I'm 37 and I don't want to know still.
True.
True.
Me when my mum told me Nana and Papa were still doing it.
And I was like, okay, mate.
Your family's weird, eh?
I was talking about old people and getting it on.
And then mum was like, well, Nana and Papa still do it.
I was like defending them?
Also, how does she know?
Oh, we're a close family.
Meg's just showing me photos of the book.
Where did I come from?
They bring up any memories, Dad?
Honestly, PTSD, man.
All right, easy money.
The letter is H, if you can give us 10 answers.
Starting with H in 30 seconds.
We've got a thousand bucks going into your bank account today.
O-Wed under the edge.
Easy money.
Clint.
Time.
You ready, Bergen?
And Dan.
Oh, my God.
Easy money.
30 seconds.
the clock if you can give us 10 answers
starting with today's letter
H. H. A thousand bucks is yours. You can pass if we've got time
we'll come back but you can't give us the same answer twice.
All right. Hi Lainey.
Hi. Morning Lainey. How's Nelson?
Yeah, it's good.
It's good. Wendy. Wendy.
Now, lady, we've got
fairly close over the last couple of days. We've had a couple of people
get to eight questions. So hopefully we can get
closer with you. Okay, nice pace.
Hopefully.
Lainee and the cash could be yours.
Here we go.
The time starts at the end of me
asking you your first question, good luck.
Okay.
Give me a girl's name.
Helen.
A boy's name.
Henry.
A car brand.
Aundi.
Something you'd eat for breakfast.
Hashbound.
A body part.
Head.
Something round.
Um.
Or pass.
An adjective.
Half.
Happiness or happy.
A retail store?
Um, us.
A country?
Holland.
Time, lady.
That was question nine.
That was very good.
Your last question would have been a six-letter word.
And something round was we had a hula hoop, a whole, a hamburger, a hockey park and a retail store, H&M, Hallenstein's Harvey Miller.
Yeah.
Yeah.
You were very good.
You were flying to start.
I was bad than the last time I tried it, that's for sure.
Do you know, I think that?
might have been the first time we got somebody correctly
do an adjective and it didn't throw them and they didn't
pass. You don't know what they are.
Been out of school too long. And it was a classic
case, Lainey, of the first pass
and it threw you. Because you were really
fast until then. I was at age.
Yeah, I was like, I've got this here. I've got it now.
And I'm like, damn. You did very
well. Thank you so much, Lainer. You can play again
at 8. Cool. Coming up next, there are
10, but we've all got our floors.
How many points do we lose for
those floors? Yeah, there was
a woman actually did it up front on TikTok.
She said, you know what, I am in the dating pool again.
This is what I look like.
These are my flaws.
So we'll judge here.
Clint Ming and Dan, Edge Breakfast.
We all have our floors.
How many points, though?
Does it cost us out of 10?
Actually, The Dream has a song from back in the day,
which is probably quite fitting for this segment.
Shorty's a 10, but everyone has their flaws.
How many points do you lose for those floors?
No one's perfect.
No, are they?
It's a great song.
For us.
Okay.
good song if you're in love with a tin man
because it's like in
in the wizard of Oz.
Oh because she sounds like she's saying tin.
Yeah, she should have kept it in my head that one.
So we play a little game that
everybody starts out of 10 and then they do some
things and they lose points for it. And there was a woman
who actually front footed this.
We can all agree she's a very attractive
woman. She's a 10. Yes, very much.
She's a very naturally beautiful, attractive woman
and she's back on the market. So she said
if you want to date me, I'm front footing.
this is, these are the things that I do.
Okay, so she starts at a 10,
at least how many points she loses.
But really, I don't wash my strawberries before I eat them.
I don't wash any of my fruits and vegetables.
Fine, I don't care.
If you're 10, I think you keep 10 for that.
Yeah, and I tell my wife that I've washed them when she asks,
but I don't know you can be bothered washing the vegetables.
I mean, well if I remember, but I think she'd lose points if you're that hot.
I don't wash my water bottles.
Oh, they get really moldy and disgusting.
They can, yeah.
She says until she sees them.
mold? She doesn't... Okay.
She's going to lose a point for me. A point, maybe? Apparently you're supposed to
wash them weekly. Really? I need
to be better then. So, a nine?
Yeah, I get. She drops a point, okay.
I am a barefoot
person. I don't wear shoes. I don't like to wear shoes.
What about when you go out to eat? I'll wear flowy pants
so that you can't see my feet. Oh, even
out for dinner? See, that's a weird, because
obviously in New Zealand we are more open
to just being barefoot. I think
so anyway, so that didn't bother me at all. Until
she was like, restaurants, high.
wherever I go, I don't wear shoes.
That's getting to like, yeah, just a little bit messy type of person.
I'm dropping three points for that.
Three?
You're going down to a six?
I'm going to say she's a seven still.
I think that's more fair.
Happy medium. Seven, I'm happy with that.
Okay, all right, she's seven so far.
But I do clean my ears.
I have every single tool available to me to clean my ears,
but I'm going to clean them with a bobby pin.
Oh, see, I do that.
I didn't know that.
A bobby pin?
Yeah, yeah, just use a bobby pin
because you're not meant to use a conurb
because it presses more in,
a bobby pin kind of hooks.
No, that's disgusting, Meg.
Would you rather them just not clean them out at all
or use a bobby pin?
I think just wash them in the shower
like most people do.
What do you mean?
Like inside?
Yeah.
That's what you're supposed to do.
I pour water inside there.
Well, not pour, you know, like just get your fingers
and just do a bit of a wash, like you rest of your body.
Okay, how many points?
So, would she losing points for that?
it's pretty gross
what are you taking her down to her
six just now a six
final thing last floor that she's admitted
to but when I do not have floss
I will pull out my own hair
like the hair from my head
and I will use that as dental floss
she's down to a three
if I see a woman
if I see a woman
who has got no shoes on in the restaurant
and then she whips out of bobby pit and cleanses out her ear
I might answer okay we're in whatever but then she
pulls out a piece of her hair and flosses her teeth, three.
But this makes me, this concerns me
because this makes me wonder what other hot people are doing
when you think they're really hot and perfect.
Yeah, yeah.
Behind closed doors.
You're right, with one or two, fine,
but when you put them all together,
she does seem like quite a...
A specific type of person.
Loose.
Yeah.
Person when it comes to her personal hygiene.
This is quite a niche one,
and I think everybody knows what it means
when I say white spit.
Oh, on the corners of the mouth?
Oh, you lose four points for me.
Oh, yeah.
Same, so I saw a girl.
a pole vaulter, professional pole vaulter, and very attractive young lady, and she'd just done a pole vault, and she was doing the interview at the end. And obviously she's been exerting herself. But she had white spit at the side of the hook. Oh, you judge mental, us. She'd just done pole vault. I know, I know. But it was, I was like, oh, God, no, no. Oh, my gosh, that's shallow hell in real life.
Get your Clint Meg and Dan Fax. The edge.
Everyone starts at a 10, and then obviously tell us what their floor is, and we will reduce their points.
10.
Okay, so we just actually had somebody and we got them down to, I think, a three or a four.
Yeah, but there was multiple things.
Yes, and I think it was unfair.
But someone sticks through wanting to know our opinion on there are 10.
And this is quite, I guess, topical at the moment, but they're vaping.
Takes it down a lot for me.
Do they just, do they just vape like maybe once a week with a couple of drinks?
Or do they vape all the time?
The person in question, Sarah is her name.
she said that she went on a date with a guy
last week and he is a 10
extremely attractive
but he was vaping most of the date
I would say that takes them down
to a 5 in my opinion
from a 10
But sometimes it smells like bubble gum
I know but it's gross
I just hate
Whenever I walk past someone vaping
And I inhale the smell
Like I smell the grape
I'm like I've literally inhaled
Something that's been inside your lungs
It's disgusting
Yeah you're right
It's something that's gone inside
somebody's body
Yeah it's so gross
And not good for
you either. I'd go an eighth.
Oh, yeah. Ten to an eight,
I think. Somebody else said, I've just
started dating a guy and he
continuously, even though I've told him we are
shoes off house, will wear
his shoes inside. Yuck!
And do you know what goes with that?
The disrespect that he's not listening to you or remembering
it goes down three.
True. You know, like he's just like, ah, no, I'm not
just the shoes, it's the fact that he either isn't listening to you
or did listen and it doesn't care.
Or just keeps forgetting, no, three.
I'm always one of those people that goes if someone takes
his shoes off when they come to my house. I go, I'll leave them on.
It's all good. But you've got
to kid that crawls around on the carpet.
No, he's walking now. Oh, yes.
He's all good. Yeah, yeah. Let's go
to Hannah. Oh, 800 the edge. Hey, Hannah.
Hi.
Morning, Hannah. Now, you're actually not necessarily
calling up for a he's a 10, but
you're just saying that this is grossing you out
all this chat.
Yeah, I just don't do, like, bodily
fluids of any kind.
Of any kind. Well, your partner's a 10,
but?
He actually has like a really bad nose.
So like he has to blow it a lot and he sniffed a lot.
I hate a sniffer.
Yeah.
Well like he snorts it and it's like, oh.
Oh yeah, I don't know.
Have you spoken to him about it that you don't like it?
And what's his answer?
He just kind of says, oh, you know I have problems.
I'm sure he can get it fixed.
Does he play sport and blow snot rockets out
I'll cross the pitch?
You know those ones?
Yeah, I don't know.
Okay, how many points are they?
I don't want to talk about it.
I think we called her a radio, so you kind of have to.
Oh, did we?
I was sorry about that, Hannah.
Yeah, Hannah's like, she's like, she's like,
he texts you in peace.
Yeah.
I thought she'd called us, so we forced her to talk on the radio.
Bless her.
He's a 10, but he's into model trains.
Someone's set on the text machine.
Oh, it's nice to have a hobby.
Yeah.
Maybe nine.
If the trains are in a session
and you can't get them out of the house, maybe under seven.
I find it a 10. I like people with hobbies and passions that they like.
Small little miniature things. Meg loves that.
Yeah, that doesn't bother me at all.
And someone else's text through Paul saying, I think he's referring to the smelling vape.
Yeah.
And he says, Dan, you're in the studio and you three
are currently sharing air that's been inside each of your lungs.
The difference is, Paul, I can't smell Meg's ear that's been inside her lungs.
That's so sweet.
Clakes on the other hand.
Smoking in my dental hygiene.
Sorry, man.
Each breakfast with Clint McGinn Dan

Oh, 800, the Edge. We'll do it next.
Take the Edge off your day with Clint McGinn Dan.
New Zealand is known for many things.
The mighty all blacks, Marmite, the top twins, and Chris Warren.
Please tell me that is not your penis.
But one thing we're known for more than others is our proud.
in sayings and catchphrases.
She's going to get 20 fucking wax.
This is the fucking news.
Father's day is on Sunday.
Always blowing the pie and safe the communities together.
Oh, yes, there's some goodies in there.
But there's one catchphrase that reigns supreme over all the rest.
And right now, it's more popular than ever.
Up the walls.
Up the walls.
Up the one.
What's up?
I'm Jack Black, and I'm here to say up the one.
Yes, every true warrior is.
fan has said it, but which one said it best?
This is Woz Wars Wars, Wars, Wars, Wars.
We started it yesterday. We have our raining champ.
So far, sorry, I carryover champ.
Harper, nine years old. Morning Harper.
Luke.
Hello.
Hello, Harper, you darling.
So you were incredible yesterday.
You took it out.
How are you feeling going into today?
I'm a bit nervous.
Yeah.
Wow.
Okay.
Just do your best, but we've got some tough competition for you today, Dahl.
Here we go.
Okay.
Give us an up the waz.
She doesn't know what to do.
Off you go.
Hold up. My dog's just buggy.
Don't worry about the dogs, sweetheart.
Just enough the wards.
Added a little something to it.
I do like it.
Okay, just changed it up.
Charlie going up next.
Morning, Charlie.
Good morning.
Good morning.
Let's see how you do.
Off you go.
Yeah.
Oh, aggressive.
Aggressive out the gate.
Charlie was good.
That was very good.
Chris Clear, fast.
Solid Charlie.
I love the Cross Rich fans.
Levi, Big Wise fan.
Yeah, Big Wiles fan.
Oh, you've already got a deep voice.
How good were they at the new stadium?
Oh, mate.
They were amazing against Cowboys.
Oh, so good.
All right.
Let's hear it.
Take your time, Levi.
When you're ready.
All right.
All right.
I want to take it off a nine-year-old Harper.
Thank you.
I just say that we're going to deliberate.
Deliberate.
Yeah.
I do think it's between Charlie and Levi.
So you're saying that Harper's out?
I'm sorry.
I believe what happens now.
And it's a horrible thing for me to say.
Yeah.
So unfortunately Harper is out.
So it is between Charlie and Levi.
For me it's Levi.
I think Levi takes it out.
I think the way you finished it off.
I did so good though.
Levi from Christchews.
Give it to us one more time.
I new reigning champion.
Hey, you want one more?
Yeah, go on, bro.
Go on.
Oh, here we go.
Up the Wars!
A hell of an encore!
I think I'm going to have to add that to the end of mine.
Okay.
Thank you, Levi.
Now, the carryover champ to tomorrow.
Who is going to win?
He's going to be hard to beat tomorrow,
and we think we might bring some online entries in tomorrow.
There's been some online ones.
Yeah, you can text Waz to 3343 if you do want to enter online.
Up the Warr.
Oh, that sounds, that's...
And then maybe our youngest entry as well.
I'm unsure how young, but it sounds maybe four or five years of age.
Okay.
Oh, maybe even younger.
For me, it's still Levi.
It's still Levi.
All right, Levi's leading the charge.
Crisp $5 note on the line and also bragging rights that you are the best up the wires,
call in the country.
WIS to 3-3-4-3.
Okay, let's do it all together.
Three, two, one.
I'm dola!
Listen to your favourite breakfast show whenever you like.
Clint McGinn-Dan.
The Edge.
Clint McGahn's Scandal.
And Scandal this morning, unfortunately, Tim Carrey,
famous from the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
It.
Hi, Georgie.
Aren't you going to say hello?
And home alone.
Horsekeeping.
Mr. McAllister.
And how are we this morning?
A limousine and a pizza.
An incredible.
actor. Honestly, such an incredible actor.
I was listening to the Rocky Horror Picture Show soundtrack
again this morning over and over on my way in.
And even in songs,
the way he acted was just
flawless. And it's going to be a sad watch
the chef with Home Alone because
not only Tim Curry but also
the mum, Kevin.
Kevin McAllis's mum, Captain Rojara.
And the lady that played the crazy pigeon lady.
They both all died this year.
Yeah, so Tim has passed away. I don't think I even
finished that sentence. At the age of 80
the day after Dolly Pied and passed away,
the same age. Tim suffered a major
stroke in 2012 and I believe
has passed from medical troubles
since then. And if you haven't seen it as well
this is a nice upbeat thing. The Royal Guard
yesterday played 9 to 5 in honour of Dolly yesterday.
I hope they play Time Warp today.
Yeah. That would be just...
You're like, oh, another song we have to learn.
Also, if you are in home alone, it's only August.
You'd be a little bit worried, wouldn't you?
I'm a wholly Colkin's a bit younger.
Yeah, yeah, true.
Just hits in Auckland.
The edge.
The edge.
A few stories to chuck on your radar next for the 27th of August,
including what happens if you are somebody who doesn't claim your lotto ticket?
There is still $20.1 million waiting to be claimed in an Auckland suburb of Blockhouse Bay.
It has been just over a month since that ticket won.
Wow.
A share of the $40 million jackpot and somebody still got the ticket.
But what you maybe didn't know is the Lynx Lotto go to Detroit.
and find you.
I mean, imagine if you're...
Hopefully, they know that one.
Because imagine if they had it.
She's sitting in a drawer.
Mental.
It's the edge.
Listen to your favorite breakfast show.
Whenever you like.
Clint Megan Dan.
The edge.
Clint Megan Dan.
What you want.
What you have?
All right, a few stories put on your radar for the 27th of August you might not know about.
This is a big developing story that's going to be...
It's just starting as we speak over in America.
So Facebook and Instagram owner, Meta has agreed to pay 18.
billion dollars, which is about
30 billion New Zealand
dollars, to settle claims brought
by 29 US states that
its platforms of harm children.
As part of this agreement,
Mera says it will make changes to its
platforms nationwide. And this is just
in America at this point,
where they're going to
pose daily limits on
kids and nighttime blocks for teenage
users. So it's going to limit
the amount of time that teenagers and young
people can go on their platforms, which
obviously at Instagram and Facebook.
Two hours a day is all they're going to be allowed.
Notifications on the platform silence during eight and three school hours.
Turning autoplay features are off.
It's exciting.
But this obviously is well.
You need to remember it's just the matter owned one.
So there's still TikTok and umpteen other different social medias that are still free for all.
Hopefully they follow suit though if Facebook starts and sets the standard.
All right.
The $20 million ticket out of an
Auckland suburb of Blocker Space is still waiting to be claimed
despite the fact that was won over a month ago.
You have a year to claim your prize before it goes back into the prize pool.
Here's the interesting part
is that for unclaimed prizes,
Lotto doesn't just wait for you to come to them.
They will actually try and find out when the ticket was purchased,
what time, what payment method was used,
use store records, CCTV,
and other ways to try and track you down.
Wow.
And one particular example was when Lotto gave away $22 million
and it wasn't claimed in Christchurch.
So the CEO personally found out where they lived
and flew to Christchurch, knocked on the door and said,
I think you might want to check your ticket.
And the person was the person with it.
I was wondering that are they going to be able to maybe look at the CCTV footage
of that dairy in Lockhouse Bay
and go back and try and help find the person that got that specific time?
The thing is, I mean, that proves that they purchased it.
Yeah.
Whether they've not lost or not is another story, isn't it?
They record lotto says that roughly around $10 million a year goes unclaimed with a lot of win.
That pisses me off.
Crazy.
Because I could have won that and I'd be straight down there the next day.
Buy a ticket, check it.
My goodness.
And you may have seen this going viral.
I'm going to get a bounce back set up so you can see if you haven't already.
A contestant called Jay Segal.
I'm actually chatting to her at the moment right now on TikTok because I want to get her on the show.
She went viral for going on the Price is Right, which is a game show over in America.
She won in June, and it's just going viral of her reactions and her...
It's been described as one of the most memorable celebrations in games show history.
On your trip to the Grand Canyon.
And finally, say goodbye to the school bus and hello to your brand new car!
I told him my car last week.
I told her my car last week
She's like
She doesn't know where the Grand Canyon is
She's from California
And it's just down the road
It's down the road
She goes where is that
And she's in California
Because I'm talking to her right now
And she's like the time difference
Yeah she won $75,000 in prizes
Two cars
A trip to the Grand Canyon
She was cartwheeling around
She was picking up the hosts
And Drew Carey
We're going to try and get her on
next week
I think I've been to the Grand Canyon
I'll be honest
It's hard to miss
Yeah
If you want to see it
It's a bit of a longer video
a video, all her reactions. It's a good
fun. Jay, J-A-Y to
3-3-3, I'll text the back to you.
Okay, next guy's been working
on something, but I hope you like.
Oh, Dan, now how do we describe this
to people? Well, the last time he did this, remember,
he said he'd been working on something overnight, and he
put his wife in a cupboard and
recorded her, and it was the most shocking piece of
radio I've ever heard. In history, it
was the most shocking piece of radio. It's an observation
that I have noticed,
and once you notice, you can't unnotice it,
that Love is Blind, the TV show,
the new UK version. I'm not going to
spoil anything, and if you don't watch it, I think you can still
have fun. And
then, um, I wondered
what life would be like
if it was
a lover's blind episode.
Oh, don't write Meg and I into this.
This is your thing, Clint. We have scripts
and I want you to read them exactly how I've written.
A Megh. It's Breakfast, Clint
Meg and Dan.
Love is a dating reality
show where you can only date
and propose, yes, actually propose and actually get married to a person that you never get to see,
you only get to talk to them.
And it's cut down into a few episodes, but I believe they talk for hours and days and days and days.
Well, it's to take out the physical attraction, isn't it?
Exactly.
You just learn to love someone's personality.
And you sit there and go, okay, well, it's good for people that are maybe not as societely seen as attractive,
but apparently it's also very good for the super super hot because then they're like,
oh my God, they didn't like me just because I'm this gorgeous blondeie, hottie.
They like me for who I am.
So for people that have never watched it before
is there a mix of real agmos.
They used to be.
Now it's mostly just hoties, if I've been honest.
True. It's changed. They're just all hot.
Yeah. Yeah.
And there's something I've noticed
and I don't want us to ruin the show for you, Meg.
But it's like, whoever's in charge of the music,
as soon as someone's talking about something,
they'll find a song that literally just reiterates
exactly what's being said.
Like there's this guy here.
He's a Christian.
He was praying just before the doors are about to open.
and saying that he's like put his faith into this experiment
and he hopes it doesn't let him down
and then the music comes in.
My faith has definitely been my strength.
Can I put my faith in you?
I can't believe I'm about to see her.
I don't know what that's going to look and feel like,
but I can't, can't wait.
Somebody is like not taking creative license at all, basically.
Yeah.
They've just copy and paste it.
It's clever.
Then there's this other trick,
and she's talking about how much she loves this guy.
She's like, oh my God, I'm in love.
and she hasn't been in love before.
So obviously the guy with the music, like, what could I do?
I love his little cute, like accent.
I'm like, okay, it's for love.
It's for love.
We're here for love.
A day guys in the past that accept my beliefs,
and then eventually they're like, no.
They just found a love song through that one in there.
Okay.
quite deep and special between us.
Any question or doubt up until this point that I had,
she kind of put my mind at ease.
Turns out of Adam.
I see what you mean about, like, if this was in real life,
if you were to say something, you had a backing track
that just, like, added to what you were saying,
it'd be quite impactful.
Yeah, would it?
Yeah.
Let's see if it is next.
Don't encourage it, Meg.
For you, Meg, and also you, Dan.
And then obviously there's music interludes.
A we dating?
No, we're all just hanging out as friends at Dan's house.
More believable then.
The Edge.
The Edge is the home of Clint McGinn Dan.
The Edge.
Clint Megan Dan, Love is Blind, UK, a brand new season.
I'm about five Epton, Meg's three.
And I've just noticed that every time there's a conversation,
when the conversation ends, they'll bring in music
that just really doubles down on what's being said.
It's almost like comical sometimes.
Like, there's drama, right, between,
a guy and a girl who didn't
peer up in the pods.
They've got their own partners
but they meet up together.
No, really?
And this conversation ensues.
Our date was boring
compared to the date
I had an affair.
Me is going boring.
Yeah, the drama's going down
whether you like it or not.
It's just every time
they choose a song
is just so cliche.
So what would life be like
if we're a Love Island?
I'm sorry, Love is Blind episode.
I've written a script.
Meg, you've got some lines.
Dan, you've got some lines.
I'm just going to be the narrator.
And then I've chosen some songs.
I've actually created some songs that I think would fit well in this scenario.
Let me get this straight.
You've written a script.
And then you've also written some songs.
Yeah.
What could go wrong?
Okay.
Good luck to everyone.
Thank you so much.
Okay.
So we're going to start with Clint.
Have you sent us the script?
Yeah.
But yeah, I just emailed it through.
Clint Meg and Dan were having drinks at Dan's after work.
The door was unlocked, so Clint and Meg let themselves in.
Action.
Can I get you guys someone to drink?
Oh my God.
What did you do to your hair?
I got it cut.
Do you like it?
I was worried it would make me look like a virgin.
Fats they done to his head.
He'll never get a woman in bed.
Because here I pulled.
Obviously with your hair cut.
Right.
No.
Dan went off to make a drink while Megan Clint laughed in the lounge together.
Oh my God, Clint, you crack me up.
For goodness.
I know everyone thinks Dan is the funny one,
but I hope he doesn't get jealous hearing me giggle like this.
I really feel like a school girl again.
Oh, God.
I don't blame me.
She secretly wants him.
Oh, good.
Her eyes devouring him.
I
I mean
She wants to hold his
hand
But obviously
You know
Kids listen to the shows
Wow
Clint
Meg left after
Sorry
Clint Meg after
Meg's inappropriate
advances
And shortly after
Dan walked into the lounge
Where Meg was sitting
All alone
Oh my god
Guys
Do you smell that?
Um
Nah
What do you mean?
Smell what?
Oh, yuck, it smells like rotten carrot cake.
Yeah.
That was me.
For goodness sake.
A girl farted in her pants.
She fart in her pants, in her pants, in her pants.
The rotten sand.
Filling the air.
Filling the air.
Why do we give it to her?
Filling the air.
Why do we give him the tie?
I read the best of it.
that we got from Clint last night in our group chat
about this shit.
Is that it?
Yeah, that's it.
So let me read these messages.
That's what life would be like if it was a lover's blind episode
with songs just reiterated what had happened.
5.40pm.
Hey team, I've been working on something real hard
for the bottom of Stephen tomorrow.
Hopefully goes all right.
Working on something real hard.
I did to create three original songs.
One was about five.
Oh, my God.
And another business is.
Also, I've got a really fun idea for a couple of breaks.
seven throw.
I did notice he'd said that twice.
Nobody replied.
I called you the hot girl.
The hot girl farted in her pants.
This is a real niche joke,
but Emily said,
take away Auckland's bullets.
Thank you, Emily.
You understand.
Okay, easy money is next.
I'm 800,000 of $1,000.
Easy money.
Time for your favorite game.
Easy money.
Two past dates.
30 seconds on the clock,
if you can give us 10 answers.
Starting this morning with the letter S,
cash is yours.
You can pass, but you can't give us the same answer twice.
Alex, but blow it all on himself.
Good on you, Alex.
Or herself.
Herself.
Herself.
Morning, guys.
All right, Alex, your letter is S this morning.
Are you ready to win $1,000?
Yes, is it F for fish?
No, it's S for sausage.
S for stupid, which you don't want to be.
Okay, okay, no, that sounds good.
Yeah.
Okay, here we go.
Your first one is, give me an animal.
Some more and tiger.
A board game.
A type of lolly
A sailpatches
A type of bird
Seagull
A serial
A movie franchise
Pass
A country in Asia
A Shanghai
Time
Alex Tyne
You just need a little more pace at the start
You were answering them
I was just like
You're gonna have to speed this one up
You passed two
Yeah
Got through seven in the end
Yeah well done
I mean it wasn't a complete pancy
But it's just we just need more pace
Sorry Alex
Movie franchise Star Wars Star Trek
Spider-Man Superman. Yeah, yeah. I think that one really always gets the movie franchise.
And Salty Brand's Special K. Oh, yep.
Oh, sorry Alex, we couldn't get the grand into your hands.
Back again tomorrow, 7 and 8 o'clock. It is something for us to recap our imposter stories next.
We had three people all say they had celebrity encounters for different reasons.
Two of them are lying. We're going to try to award the truthful story $500 next.
Get your handcuffs ready. Get your detective hats ready because we are going to solve this case.
It's like a murder case
You got your handcuffs, Meg?
Boys, Glenn, they're in my bag.
Fluffy and red?
She clips into her belt.
No, leather and black.
Oh, hey.
He's comfortable.
Get your Clint McGinn and Dan fix.
One truth.
Two lies.
And $500.
Clint's Meg and Dan.
Three stories, two of them lying.
One of them is the truth.
This has been the hardest week.
We've done it.
True, I agree.
I agree.
previous weeks.
I still don't know.
We awarded the cash to the truthful story week one.
We unfortunately gave it to an imposter.
It was a bloody good liar last week.
We need to find out who is telling the truth.
I'll give you a very quick recap of the three stories and then let us know.
I think if you've heard all three, I think your vote carries more weight than if you've only heard one or two.
We need to listen to Meg this week.
She's been right every time.
I don't know, boys.
I don't know if I'm that confident this week.
All right, this was Max meeting one of Meg's idol, Stanley Tucci.
I moved to London, I ended up being a runner on a San Pellegrino ad.
Stanley Tucci comes to us as like the runners and goes, oh, I need some apples.
Like PA was like, yo dude, you go drive, find some organic apples.
And we spent overall like two days trying to find him these apples.
A two-day apple hunt for Stanley Tucci?
Seems unlikely.
Oh, was it a Rosie story of a celebrity encounter?
I once came face-to-face with Harry Stiles.
I saw him riding on a line bike.
London. I've always wanted a Harry-style tattooed. If I get him a Sharpie and he can write
signature or something on me, then I can get that tattooed.
Story went on, she found one, he drew some sort of a bird on her own and she got it tattooed
the same day. I don't know. And me and Jacob yesterday says, no, no, no, those two are lying
because this happened to him.
So I was in London and I came face-to-face with Gordon Ramsey, a cameraman for a travel
blogger and we saw him in an airport.
We went up to him and started yapping.
He eventually challenged us to go find
a better beef Wellington than he can make
two days. I think that one's kind of
believable, right? But what do you think
we need your help? Every time that you
give us feedback, we always miss things.
Let's not try and lead the witness too much.
You just give us a call. After you've heard all those three,
just even if you haven't heard it previously
before today, agreed. Just what you've heard
there, tell us what you think. Oh, 800
the Edge or 33443.
Okay, we'll give you one song, so you've got
three and a half minutes to get you vote in,
and then we will get the person
who we think is telling the truth on the show.
Next, award them the $500
and find out if we've given it
to the right person or not.
One truth, two lies,
and $500.
Three stories.
Max, Rosie, and Jacob.
Max's was meeting Stanley Tucci
and trying to find apples
over a 48-hour period.
Then Rosie said she got a tattoo.
that Harry Stiles drew on her.
And then Jacob said he came face to face with Gordon Ramsey
who sent them on a wild goose chase to find a better beef Wellington.
I think the only sure fire one that people are saying
is definitely a lie as Rosie in the Middle A.
Yeah, unfortunately.
Do you know what's put the nail in a coffin?
Somebody said no way Harry would have drawn a tattoo
that he already has on somebody else.
Well, Hannah actually disagrees.
Hannah thinks her and his son thinks number two is still on the truth.
Morning, Hannah.
Good morning.
Morning.
So you think that the Harry Stiles, what is true?
Yeah, so my 10-year-old son from the car
with me on that way to school, and he reckons it's her.
Now, how trustworthy is your 10-year-old son?
He's very trustworthy.
Oh, nice. That's a nice thing to say.
It was good to know.
Okay, so we've got one vote there for the second one.
But someone texting and saying,
Stanley Tucci, that story, it was so ridiculous that it couldn't be made up,
which has got, you know, a bit of weight to it.
So that's Max, the Stanley Tucci one, right?
Yeah, they'll...
Jacob, who we had yesterday.
Someone just said, I don't know
Jacob just sounds like a liar
That's all I've got
Yeah, but then Kingy said Jacob for truth
Oh my goodness
You guys are confused this morning
Looking at the text and the calls
That are coming through, Danielle's on the line as well
I'd say the line share of people
Are saying
Max, maybe
Is telling the truth but it's very slim
What you're a come, Danny?
Oh, I'm actually quite torn
Like I've listened to every week's ones
but I might be leaning more towards,
is it Max the first place?
Stanley Tucci in the Apple Hunt over two days?
Yeah, another vote for Max.
He was quite confident,
and, I mean, if you're lying,
you have to have some,
unless he's a blooming good liar
and he can just cover it, but...
Yeah, okay.
Kerry has said the Ramsey story is a lie,
so that's the final story, that's Jacob.
Okay, and it's quite neat,
she had the San Pellegrino fact,
but there was a lot of things going into it.
So are we going to go with Max?
Yeah.
Okay.
We'll go with Max.
What?
So we're saying Max's?
Telling the truth.
Telling the truth.
Got it wrong before, though, haven't we?
Getting him on?
Max.
Max?
Hello?
There he is.
Max, good morning.
Good morning.
Okay.
Well, congratulations, first of all, Max.
We are choosing you as the person who is telling the truth.
So you've just won yourself $500.
That's it.
You get it.
Congratulations.
But there's still one little bit of housekeeping
who you need to get to.
Yeah, let's give you the floor.
I'm so good. Max?
I just want to say thanks to the 500 bucks, guys,
because I truly am an honest, upstanding citizen,
and I'm not trying to put it all over your eyes.
Look, I'm a huge fan of Stanley Tucci
and medium on TV set
was lying about the apples and everything like that.
It's a story I've been telling the past few years
or maybe I haven't.
That being said, I can tell you guys that I am
I'm telling the Twos.
Apples!
Wow, you're that bad.
And you didn't mean, too, G. You worked with him.
Yeah, I know.
It's a crazy story.
And when I told you guys, I was like, oh, I don't think you're going to believe me.
I don't think you're going to believe it.
Wow.
Okay, so Rosie, your little line, B.
She never met Harry Stiles.
And Jacob never met Gordon.
And yeah, well, well done.
It was an incredible story, and I'm not surprised you tell it a lot.
Yeah, true.
And that's the thing with this game.
If you've got an amazing story, you tell it well, and believably, you can win 500 bucks.
We did it.
Nice one.
So a two from three, that's not bad.
Nice one, Danny, pointing us in the right direction right there.
At the end there, I appreciate you.
Yep.
You can stay on the force.
Yeah, you can be part of the jury next week.
Yeah, yeah, you're not fired.
Well done.
All right, well, if you have a great story, take story to three, three, four.
if you think it's worth $500 next week.
And if you just tell a bloody good lie
and you think you can convince us
that something happened to you when it didn't,
you can text lie to 3-3-4-3
and try and steal the 500 as an imposter.
Yeah, an imposter won it last week, didn't they?
Yeah.
Steaky little bugs.
Coming up next, Books by Boomers.
A book from 1974,
I have the advice
if you keep fighting with your husband
on what you can do to fix that.
Maybe guess is it sexist advice?
Yes.
Clint Meg and Dan.
It's breakfast.
The Edge.
Books by Boomer's.
Mirabar Morgan wrote this
I think in the 70s and it is
very, very, very, very, very sexy.
Is Mirabal still alive?
Yes. She is. She's still kicking around as far as I know.
Bless her.
So this is her advice, not mine.
But if you are having arguments with your husband,
she's giving me three tips on how to better that.
And maybe if you've tried everything,
Yeah.
It's time to try this.
Yeah.
You've got a hot-headed husband who keeps yelling at you and arguing with you.
This is what she says to do.
Okay.
Number one, control your tears.
Oh my God.
This.
Control your tears.
Otherwise, you teach your husband.
Don't tell her her faults.
All she'll just cry.
I've always sit there.
Now gentle tears may make a man feel protective and strong,
but great big.
Heaving sobs will only unnerve him
and make him want to get away from you fast.
Oh God, Mirabal.
Yeah, he doesn't know how to cope with such emotion,
but to protect his self-esteem, he will fight back with you.
And everyone at one time or another
hurts or offends their mate.
So the next time your husband hurts you,
instead of dwelling on what he did,
maybe think about how you will respond to his actions.
These are shocking.
I'd love to get Mirabal on
and see if she still stands by her claims from her book.
Yeah, because we talk about it.
how a lot of things haven't aged well and this is over 50 odd years.
I wonder if she'd be like, yep.
Yeah, I think she'd stand by.
I can't believe she said, don't like her husband will be like,
don't tell her what's wrong with her.
She'll just cry.
Number two, plan the proper time and atmosphere.
An angry outbursts can scar your husband's emotions.
Don't try and save your marriage while he's reading the sports page.
Oh my God.
Timing is important.
Wow, I wouldn't.
If you interrupt his favorite TV program,
you cannot expect him to be.
happy listening to what you have to say.
True. If you were watching the Warriors Sunday afternoon,
and that's when your partner decided to have a combo
about what's going wrong with your relationship,
that would be a little annoying.
Never interrupt me when I'm reading the newspaper.
I've also found it easier to resolve a conflict
when my husband's blood sugar is high.
Make sure his tummy is full and make him a nice dinner.
And number three, gently tell him what is in your heart.
It was Shakespeare who wrote.
Her voice was ever soft, gentle and low.
What an excellent thing in a woman.
Happy marriage
Wow
Who's team is she on?
Is she with a woman or the dudes?
What are the dudes?
Let's get a reprint of this book.
Everybody should read it, I say.
June and halfway through, not Meg's advice.
That's actually from a book written in the 70s
just to see how it's dated.
Yes, that one's not well.
I guess it was just a thing of that time, wasn't it?
Isn't it?
Isn't that wild?
The woman was the homemaker.
He'd come home?
Those poor moms.
Those poor moms back in the day
that were just reading these books to say,
don't, you know, everything is on you.
All of his moods, all of his emotions, that's all on you
and on your shoulders.
Next, how you can score six tickets to R&V accommodation
and a VIP vintage club upgrade rhythm and vines this year.
Listen live weekdays from Sex on Rover and catch up wherever.
This is Clint, Meg and Dan.
The Edge.
It's Flat Idol.
Flat Idol is going to be kicking up very, very soon.
We're looking for five flats to go head to head.
Right, produce, record their own.
song however they see fit and we'll be battling them against one another.
The winning song will win six R&V tickets, accommodation and a VIP vintage club upgrade
R&V and Gizzy.
I mean, at the stage, forget about what you have to do.
Just enter, you could win your flat.
You could be the MVP of the flat for the year by getting your whole flat to R&V for the
final one in Gisbon.
Yeah, like six of you with Airbnb so you don't even have to like figure out tense or be in
tense.
Do you know how good that is?
I do because I've done 10teen and I've done air.
and be a B and B and I promise
it's better.
Yeah.
Imagine?
You get up in a bed
versus waking up in a tent.
Hurricane years later
you'd be having a drink
Friday afternoons you'd be like
remember that time Jess won us
all tickets to R&V?
Yeah.
It was like VIP and a comp.
You know when I was saying this to my husband
last night when your meal
tastes better because you didn't cook it?
You know like you had the same meal
but if you didn't cook you
just sat down and suddenly there's a hot meal in front of you
R&V will taste better when you didn't pay.
And if you ever want a camp in a tent
just put your bed in the backyard of your Airbnb.
Sure.
Best of both worlds.
So you've got to put together a tune.
Obviously, there are easy ways, very easy ways to do that,
and there are very difficult ways.
And so when judging, we will score accordingly.
But so we thought, Dan and I,
were just chatting.
When?
We thought it might be nice to show people how easy it is to whip up a song,
because you'll have a week to whip up a song if selected.
Meg, we thought we might give you a day just to show people how easy it is.
We were talking, weren't we?
In our group chat, we have.
You and I are the voice chat.
If you two were talking, you two are both the singers and the writers of the show.
You wrote that song about that horse that had prostate cancer.
Oh, yeah.
Here's the thing, Megan, in all due respect, because I will say this.
And in all seriousness, you are very, very talented.
You're one of the most talented people I've ever met.
Just not at singing.
So then why are you making me sing?
Because if you can do it, they can.
True.
You know?
I see what you're saying.
All right.
Yeah, like if you can whip something up.
That makes sense.
Because you can write it.
You've got the talent to write it.
Yeah, they can write it.
It's just the singing that I wonder.
whether it is going to be possible for people to sing and still win, you know.
So Meg, do you want, how long do you want 24 hours?
Or do you not even need that long?
Just how many, I'll do it tomorrow.
12 hours.
12 hours, okay.
We'll see what Meg can fry up in 12 hours, and you're going to have a whole week.
It's going to be 24 hours.
Would 12 hours be tonight?
Yeah, no, you said 12 hours.
I didn't say 12 hours.
He said 12 hours.
Okay, Meg's bad at singing.
I'm bad at math.
Jesus.
All right, if you want to reach time, you go, go on.
I'm sure the flatmates will get him behind me and make it work.
We'll find a way.
Just register by texting flat to 3343.
We'll bounce you back the link and make it super easy for you.
And then we'll put your song against four others.
So you got a 20% shot at taking away the prize.
This is your ticket to R&V for you and your flat.
Simple as that.
Yep.
You and four other flats go and head to head.
So as Dan says, you'd have an 8% chance.
I don't even know if he's joking because I'm bad at bats.
25% done.
20, me.
Just shut up.
Five flats, so you've got a 20% job.
Got record a song.
Your favorite radio show?
In podcast form.
Edge breakfast, Clint Megan Dan.
So, Clint is planning on going to America at some point,
which means he needs to send his social media pages to Donald Trump
and let him read through them to see if he's a good enough picture of it.
Well, in a way, if you want to get an Esther,
you do have to put your social media in when applying to get a visa to enter the country.
So they must go through, or someone must go through your social media
to make sure you're not a baddie and let you in the country?
I mean, here's the thing.
I would recommend not going through your social media from 15 years ago.
It is a cringe fest no matter who you are.
Yeah, exactly.
Mine is just as bad.
So I actually, this morning, went back through your Instagram.
Nightmare.
Not your Facebook.
I switched it up a little bit this morning to see,
because of course they check all social medias, don't they?
I know my first post was of a Guy Sebastian album, so I don't regret that.
And Clint's been a, I guess, a quasi-celebrity for many years.
now so he was posting more than others.
Stop.
You know?
Yeah, okay, so we'll have this one.
You haven't doctored any of these?
I promise I haven't doctored them, but I am going to do them in a voice.
Oh, cool, like a dumb, stupid voice.
Yes, yeah, they am.
Nice.
This is a picture of you holding a coffee cup.
Times may be tough right now, but I'm thankful.
We can still enjoy small perks like a takeaway coffee.
I did not.
Especially when it's free.
How?
Just download the BP Me app and unlock a free while being coffee that you can enjoy.
So this would have been really.
Recently, this is COVID times, I'm guessing.
Hashtag, thank you coffee.
There were a lot of hashtags.
Was that COVID?
It was like six years ago.
Still, you were old enough to know better.
You posted a topless photo of yourself running,
and then you said, what hurts you today makes you stronger tomorrow.
Honestly, you need to have it taken off here.
I'm like, that should give you strikes.
Strike three, lose your account for a month.
Another topless photo.
And his undies.
Can't beat the feeling of a lazy slundy Sunday sleep in.
Is that it?
Oh, another one.
Just a selfie of himself.
pretty spoiled this father's day.
Dad loves his jewelry just as much as mum does.
Let me see another sponsor post.
Oh, he was a Michael Hill.
God, he thinks he looks like Johnny Depp there, eh?
Oh, this is a good one.
It sounds like you think I look like Johnny Depp there.
No.
So this is the one where Clint is dressed up with a fake cigarette in his mouth.
So you're dressing up as somebody, I don't know what it is,
but it's a fake cigarette in your mouth.
You go, when dress up is life.
Hashtag fake sleeve tattoo.
Hashtag it's flower that comes out of the cigarette.
Did someone tell you the more hash?
Everybody saw you smoking.
Don't worry.
Let me ask, did you get that hashtag trending by any chance?
Yeah, he's the only hashtag that has ever used it.
Click on it.
I can't, I can't.
Oh, you've screenshot it.
No one else has used that.
You would have to be the only person that ever is written in there as a hashtag.
Okay.
This one is a photo of him smiling.
Were you trying to look like Johnny Depp this whole time?
I think he was a little bit.
It's him with long hair and like hats and stuff.
He said, copped so much flack for this hat this morning.
I found in my wardrobe and I dusted it off.
Seems not everyone vibes.
My theory.
you're a little unsure when you put something on,
you'll probably bang on.
Hashtag candid, hashtag peer pressure.
He's fishing, eh?
He's fishing, eh? He's fishing there.
Stop at me again.
There's another one.
This is you, again, sleeveless, working in the studio,
and it's a screenshot of a video saying,
I'm getting shit from the web girl for my work attire.
Hashtag it's radio.
Hashtag what winter?
Hashtag aircon.
Hashtag clothes, shaming.
Stop, please.
No, there's more.
There's more.
Who told you that the more hashtags the better?
This is this one that clip was doing.
This is for, to make sure you can get into America.
He's looking out into the old.
it's the back of his head.
And he says,
oh, what, you're taking a photo?
Hashtag basic bitch.
Hashtag I did know this photo was being taken.
Man, you Clint, honestly.
Someone must have told me, like, the more hashtags the better.
This is another good one.
This is a photo of you with Cornrose.
And you said, all the cool kids are doing it.
Or they've had it done before.
Hashtag Cornrose.
Hashtag, I'm a loser and cringe.
Oh my God, I do remember that.
And then it was like over summer.
And obviously, where the Cornrose part,
I got sunburned so bad on the top of my hair
and then look like a dandruff.
And this is my favourite one.
It's a photo of you out with your brother and your friend Kish.
And you say,
off to bone thugs with these two gangsters,
hashtag bald bone and hashtag full-skinned bone.
That was quite good.
Blake sticks through and said,
clip, this is the reason why they put the hashtag limit on Instagram.
Shut up, don't you, weighing Blake.
Good one, Blake, well done.
Well done.
Encourage Blake and people like that.
The thing is me, correct me if I'm wrong.
The hashtags were more than the actual status itself.
Oh, yes, there's more hashtag no hang loose emoji, so I had to use this one.
Like, what are you even, why?
Just write it.
It's too long.
I don't know what I was doing, man.
I don't know.
I was just like walking cringed flag.
Emily, thanks for that hashtag.
Don't let Clinton into America hashtag.
