Starting point is 00:00:00 This is a podcast from Rover. Take the edge of your mornings with Clint Meg and Dan. Get breakfast. Ki-a-good, good morning, and it's two past six on your Tuesday. He's back, man. He's back. He's back. Cliton Randall from his holiday in Hawaii.
Starting point is 00:00:15 A little browner than when I left. Oh, yeah. Hopefully. Also, a little heavier, too. Oh, yes. Did you have a lot of food? I mean, I don't normally weigh myself. Coincidentally, I did before I left.
Starting point is 00:00:25 Just, I don't know, fun. And it was like 87. point something and I was like oh okay good wait on this morning. 91.2. Yikes. I was 91 and I was like that can't be right. So I stood on this towel again and then it said 91.2 and I was okay mate. And this is the first time in a while that Clint's had an actual natural tan because usually it's fake thanks to Pizboon. Is that what you call it?
Starting point is 00:00:46 What's that? Pizbuin? Oh there that's really fancy something like that one. Yeah, I used the Bondi Sands one hour. Nice. Express. Well welcome back and Meg's away today so it's like ships in the night. Yeah, does she say why? Yeah, her husband's getting a nose job or something Yeah, he's getting a nose job.
Starting point is 00:01:06 Yeah, he's getting a nose job. Rhinoplasti. Well, maybe it's the inside, I don't know, inside or outside. So she's got to be looking after the kiddies because he's going to be out of action as a stay-at-home dad for at least 24, 48 hours, I'd imagine. So me, we'll be with the whole team, full team, full steam tomorrow. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But everything would have been sweet without me? Yeah, it was actually, you know what? Better.
Starting point is 00:01:26 Was it? Yeah, it was better off. Yeah, I thought. what everybody will say, God, the show's been really good when Clint's been away. So it just lets everybody make him, make sure he keeps thinking that. Yeah, don't want that he getting too big. But I don't know about you, man.
Starting point is 00:01:38 I'm feeling pretty well rested. Yeah. I wish I could say it the same. I've been holding this ship up. The Edge is the home of Clint McGendown. The Edge. I mean, I go to the gym. I don't love it anymore, but I go to the gym just because I should.
Starting point is 00:01:53 The only reason, the only time I've ever had, what I would say is even close to. abs and it was probably not even abs it was like I had the gutters oh really good for you dad yeah yeah and that was when I was getting up at 5 30 a.m every morning going to the gym so good on you laura yeah I think I'd be like I'll do it later you know because getting up early and then when the alarm goes off you know you're not going to get fired if you don't go not like a job yeah exactly but Dan one time did say abed by March and you gave yourself what six months yeah and I think I got more more flab on my tummy than not yeah looking good
Starting point is 00:02:28 back it was kind of mean because we were like it really was we didn't know if you did or didn't have abs Meg's way by the way today but Meg and I were like right we're going to create this really cool reveal opportunity for Dan
Starting point is 00:02:41 and we got a bus and like extreme make of a home edition we got Dan to take his shirt off and then do the move that bus I know and then I moved they moved the bus back and I knew that I didn't have abs so I drew them on and that was you know what I feel bad
Starting point is 00:02:58 because you didn't have abs. Had you have had abs, it would have been an incredible moment for all. It would have been one of the best. In fact, I think we could have got a radio award for that.
Starting point is 00:03:05 So you know what? You have to wear some of the responsibility for that. Yeah, one day I'll get them, Clint. One day. You promised us as well,
Starting point is 00:03:12 Dan. The problem is I just love burgers and pie so much. It's a tricky. Chris Pratt reckons that it's like having a really like an annoying pet. Like,
Starting point is 00:03:24 probably like a Gowan or a lizard. Like, you don't really get to hang out. out and like pat it whatever but it requires a lot of maintenance You're preaching to the converter Laura's already got abs so you know Does she? Well I don't know I'm just assuming she does
Starting point is 00:03:35 Because she goes to the gym at 6am in the morning Oh yeah thanks guys I really couldn't be bothered going today either But you did Laura And one of the guys at my gym He says that he goes you know what It's not Just turn your brain off
Starting point is 00:03:45 Stop thinking about Should I go shouldn't I go Just go before you know You're here and you're doing it And you're getting it done And if you're driving to or from the gym this morning Good on you're put this morning and you're going to work late.
Starting point is 00:03:58 You get it tomorrow. Yep, good on you. I was obviously in Hawaii the last few days, so I was off the show. When you go through Judy Free, do you always capitalize on the alcohol deals? No, because I don't think that Judy Free is as good as it used to be.
Starting point is 00:04:11 I genuinely don't. Like, I think you could go to, like, Liquor King or someone and get a similar deal nowadays. I think the only time you really win is if you're doing the, like, three for 99 or something like that. I mean, this doesn't help my abs, but I usually get a tooblerode.
Starting point is 00:04:24 You know, one of those big toobler. Oh, those things. Jay and I, I mean, we like to host, so we like to have the cupboard stocks, but we got home, and we'd done our six bottles of wine and like four bottles of spirits, whatever. And we're trying to put them in the cupboard,
Starting point is 00:04:36 and I can't get them all in. And I said, Jay, maybe we still need to keep buying so much alcohol. Maybe we are alcohol. Maybe we are addicted to alcohol. But I just don't want people to come over, and then I go, what can I get you a drink? And then they say something, and I don't have it. I don't think you're a bar, though.
Starting point is 00:04:52 I don't think you need to be as stocked as a bar. I think a couple of bottles. the spirits is fine, some bears, I'm not going to be complaining. Yeah. Yeah. But good on you, Clint, for trying to save money at Judy Free. Yeah, yeah. That's actually the most money I spent while I was over there.
Starting point is 00:05:06 Yeah. Well, good on you, because if you haven't seen any of Clint's updates of when he was at Disneyland, it looked like you did nothing except sit on a lazy river. Yeah. And you're all a wife. I saw her hooking up with Donald Duck or someone. Oh, no, that was Dale from Chippendale. You got to remember, know which one's which.
Starting point is 00:05:22 One's got a red nose. The other one doesn't, so I kept an eye on him. He was very flirting Yeah Yeah, old Dale Well he's only human I mean Jamie your wife is gorgeous Isn't she
Starting point is 00:05:31 He's got a type obviously So that's all good Hey while I was away though I heard the flat idol songs That we're debuting this week To try and win your flat tickets to R&V With the Airbnb I heard yesterday's was awesome
Starting point is 00:05:45 Incredible Like to the point where I'm like I think we've already found our winner Was that the flat of musicians I'm not actually that I'm not sure I don't think so Because that was the favourite to win, I think.
Starting point is 00:05:57 I do believe maybe there was a little bit of AI involved. It's somewhere in the song. But you'll be blown away. We'll play a little bit of the song next. It is professional as. Get you Clint McGinn, Dan Fix. It's Flats Idol. Right, we're giving your flats or a few flats around New Zealand,
Starting point is 00:06:16 at least the chance to head along to RMV for free, VIP Vintage Club, upgrade and a com. And they are tasked with putting together an original song. You get to be the Simon Cowan on this and vote too. And yesterday we heard from the song from White Powder Palace. I guess they like snow and skiing. Yeah, that makes sense. I was blowing away with the song.
Starting point is 00:06:38 Okay, I haven't heard it, but I did see when I was trying to catch up on the plane, on the old in-flight Wi-Fi. I was going through all the messengers. And I saw our boss say, wow, that first song for Flat Idol was incredible. Yeah, yeah. He wasn't being sarcastic then. And, you know, we do parody songs in radio quite a bit, don't we? the odd silly song.
Starting point is 00:06:56 This was up there with some of the crap web thrown at the wall, isn't it? Yeah, okay. Well, this is at least them setting the bar. White Palace, what do we think of their song to try and win tickets to R&V? I'm Paddy Gow, and I would like to send this flat of veterans, this flat of veterans,
Starting point is 00:07:14 to R&V. Please send this flat of veterans to R&V rhythm lines. Thank you. We get it, mate. Juni was still alive. Dunners raised us somehow still survived. Letch has missed, but memories made. Last summer together, there's juice to be paid.
Starting point is 00:07:36 Fourth year, Gizzy, we've earned our stripes. Four-day benders questionable nights. Banks says no, but our heart say yes. Get us to Gizzy, we'll handle the rest. We know the drill, lose our mates bind. The deck she's gone from the crew, Johnson. Four years cleared still teaching the freshmen. They're not done yet.
Starting point is 00:08:12 Last R&B, time to face your bets. Last summer together and we're feeling. Emot, give us the tickets and we'll give you the moth. Hey, it's White. Powder Palace. Song one for Flat Idol. Yeah, I mean, it's catchy, isn't it? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:29 And I love how they got Paddy Gower at the start. They didn't need to do that. No? So I'd say they get extra points for that. Unless they AI'd him. Can you do that? I don't think he's famous enough to be an AIable celebrity. But hey, you know what?
Starting point is 00:08:41 That is real frontrunner, in my opinion. Do you know what I love as well as that Paddy Gar, like he said he wanted to endorse them? he was also using his manners. You know, Paddy was like, please, you know, that'd be nice if you could please and thank you. Yeah. So good. I love that Patty Gower just does that.
Starting point is 00:08:55 Yeah. Like you just drop into his DMs. He's like, yeah, I'll endorse your flat for the soul. Random group of girls. We're like, hey man, could you please do this? Yeah, what's the name of the flat? White Powder Palace? Yeah, all good.
Starting point is 00:09:03 No. Seems all above board. No further questions. All right. So, Flat 2 is the 212. And they're going to be debuting their song just before 8.30 this morning. And they look like a fun flat. I'm looking at a photo of them.
Starting point is 00:09:17 now, Claudia's the main contact there, and they look like they're having a bit of fun. Six best friends who met in Capitol Hall. They say we love a boogie. Hometown Wellington? It's going to be hard to beat that first one, though. Yeah. They're my favourite. There is a flat full of musicians, though, and they're all studying music.
Starting point is 00:09:38 So I think that's flat three. I think that's one will be Wednesday. So a lot of pressure on them. You don't want to get beaten by AI, do you? Exactly. No, no, no, no. All right, give us a call. Oh, 800, the Edge next if you want to be first cooler of the day.
Starting point is 00:09:50 Yeah. We haven't had a caller on yet. I know Laura you're up. You're at the gym. Sanjay, you're up, Susie. Everybody's up. Give us a call. Oh, 8, Andrew, the Edge.
Starting point is 00:09:57 Love to chat with you. See what's been going on. Lucy, who's normally doing nights. In fact, did you do nights, loose? Yeah, last night? Days. Oh, my God. See, you'll be running on fumes.
Starting point is 00:10:09 Okay. She had a big sleep last night. She's only on days. Oh, no. But when you on, someone texted in last night? Oh, that would have been Ollie. but I did leave at five, so I'd say big shift. Oh, fist off.
Starting point is 00:10:20 Okay, since we're looking after scandal, a few other bits and pieces with the Megaway today, so we'll get to a bit of an update what's been happening in the last 24 hours next. Clint McG and Dan's scandal. We got Lucy from the night show looking after Scandal and Meg's absence this morning. Wahoo, Netflix has just confirmed
Starting point is 00:10:35 that In Betweeners 3 is officially in production. Oh, for fuck. Come on. Go baby, Simon Burr, Joe, Thomas, James Buckley and Black Harrison. will all be returning as well, Simon, Jay and Neil. And the MTV VMA's voting is now open. Starting point is 00:11:07 And one to watch for this year is Madonna, who is leading with 11 nominations. One to watch for Song of the Year, Video of the Year and Artist of the Year. And then new artists this year, people are suspecting Sinospiro among the names being tipped, but there doesn't appear to be a winner yet. Tune. say you're true Just hits In Auckland
Starting point is 00:11:34 Edge The Edge Clint Meg and Dan I'm I'm frothed For the Inbetween his movie So they must So they must be all in their 40s
Starting point is 00:11:44 now The actors Which means they can't be Playing high school They must have kids And stuff now Because I just did a quick Google
Starting point is 00:11:49 Season 1 Premiered in 2008 Hell would you have been Liz I'll do like two Just out the womb My goodness me Not in year yet
Starting point is 00:11:56 God Clint had already Had his 30th First off He's long Lucy, you're already on strike one this morning. She was talking about something and she was like, just randomly and she was like, oh, they were pretty old, I think.
Starting point is 00:12:08 I was like, how old? She was like, I think they're in their 40s. No, I reckon you get old once you're like, no, you're not old, but like 40 is like the star and then it kind of just peaks from there. It's the beginning of the end, is that what you're saying? Thanks, man. Well, interesting you say that because Simon Byrd, who plays Will in the, in between us, he's 42 this year.
Starting point is 00:12:24 Oh, he's getting there. Spring chicken. Get out. I want to see you again till 7.30. God, he is old. All right, first call of the day. Love to chat with you. Let's see what you've been up to.
Starting point is 00:12:35 Not here over 40 though, because you must be nearly dead, according to Lucy. Yeah, you aren't doing anything interesting. Your life is over. Clint McGee and Dan, It's Breakfast. The Edge. First call of the day.
Starting point is 00:12:48 First call of the day. Going to Christchurch this morning and the gorgeous Laura. Morning, Laura. Good morning. You were texting us early this morning. Yeah, so I just put in petrol, and then I got in the car, and then I heard you talking about that Britney Spears song, and I was like, oh, so then I text,
Starting point is 00:13:04 and then I just got to the gym, and I heard you piping me up, so I was in the car park, like, yeah. So you're at the gym now, or are you? I'm at the gym right now. What machine are you on? Talk us through it. What's your routine? Oh, I'm on a shoulder machine, actually, right now,
Starting point is 00:13:18 where you do kind of like, it's like a fly kind of shoulder exercise where you hold it on and you push outwards with both of your arms. Pushing up or pushing back. A couple pushing back? Pushing up sideways. Oh, okay. Yeah, I know the one.
Starting point is 00:13:35 Yeah. I do a little bit. So I'm just started going back to the gym law and I'm doing the loser kind of thing where you go around the circuit. The loser circuit. The loser circuit. Yeah. I don't use any of the free weights or anything because I'm not cool enough. Yeah, a lot of the elderly women use that in my gym.
Starting point is 00:13:50 You know what? I'm usually waiting for an elderly woman to finish so I can get on. We don't take that out of context for producers' diary. That's a good place to start though Because it gets you into like a routine Exactly Yeah Yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:14:06 And I reckon the old shoulder raises Are the best thing for like whiff If that's where you're trying to get Laura Like width in your shoulders Oh okay sweet Yeah because I just do like a lightweight on them Because I don't want to get super bulky But it's nice actually going after the elderly woman as well
Starting point is 00:14:21 Because they usually have the same weight as me You don't have to change the pin Yeah I'll just have that one Barbara Thank you very much Oh, so good. Wow, I love that you're chatting to us while you're just still at the gym. Is it quiet or is it real busy there at the moment?
Starting point is 00:14:36 No, it's actually really busy. There's probably at least like 30 people here. And how often are you doing leg day, Laura, and working on your glutes and stuff? I do full body three days a week at the gym and then I do calisthenics at home. God, you must be fit. Yeah, that is incredible. When you end up heading over to Hawaii and staying Owolani Resort, you're going to look shredded, babe. Yeah, good on you.
Starting point is 00:14:59 Oh, yes, I love that. Yeah, yeah. Well, thanks you. Oh, so you in the lazy river. You're all going to look great. Yeah. Yeah. And there's nothing lazy about Laura getting up this early to go to the gym. So good on you.
Starting point is 00:15:10 Thanks for calling. Yeah, Blady can chat with you, Laura. Oh, thank you. Gosh, I love you guys. Enjoy the rest of your day. Oh, we love you. Thanks, thanks, mate. I love you too, but. All right.
Starting point is 00:15:18 Yeah. If you want to win a thousand bucks at seven, you can still find those text to 3343. Let us know how you burn $1,000. Let's live in the moment that you have the money, because maybe, in 16 minutes, you actually might. Yeah, exactly. And next we're going to fill you in Clint on a situation that's happening at my house that involves
Starting point is 00:15:37 a ghost in my son. Oh yeah, you were talking about that before I left. Has there been a development? There's been a development. Yeah. Oh, I think I'm going to have to get an exorcism. Oh, wow, like the whole saging and all sorts. Yeah. Listen live weekdays from sex on Rover
Starting point is 00:15:53 and catch up wherever. This is Clint, Meg and Dan. The Edge. Dan, there's a bit of an update on the ghost that lives in Dan's house I've heard. Let's stop labeling it a ghost because that does scare me. I was talking to him, I was putting my son to bedies two about a week ago and he started talking
Starting point is 00:16:11 about a girl and I quote called Natalie who lives in his cupboard. Now you go straight to ghost don't you when you hear that from a little kid but I think there must be some sort of explanation behind it because I was talking to him yesterday and he had an update on what Natalie is doing
Starting point is 00:16:28 So previously on the Natalie Saga She lives in the cupboard She comes out at night sometimes And they talk And plays with his toys? Yeah, they play together He's not at all scared of her So there's no point where he's like,
Starting point is 00:16:39 Daddy, I'm scared of Natalie Nothing like that She's lovely Yeah So this is the update That he gave me just a couple of days ago Georgie, have you seen the girl In the cupboard lately?
Starting point is 00:16:48 I've talked to yesterday And what was she wearing yesterday? Was she wearing the same thing? Yeah Does she ever talk to you, the girl? He talks to me Sometimes. Okay. And does she always come out of the cupboard? Does she come from other places? Well, thank you. She's just on the roof.
Starting point is 00:17:07 Oh. On the roof of the house? Oh. On the outside or the inside? Inside her house. Inside her house. Like flying. Is this her house? So she says it's her house? We can live here too. We can live here too. Is that what she says? Yeah. So summarising, she scarily sits on the roof on the inside of the house, like some sort of demon. And he's here, and then he goes, it's her house.
Starting point is 00:17:36 That's her house. It's her house. Yeah. Like she, and so she's like, you can live here, though. All good. I'm just going to sit on the roof creepily and watch you while you live in my house. Well, Ella has a friend that does free house spiritual cleansings. They say if you're good at something, don't do it for free, but your friend is Ella?
Starting point is 00:17:54 Yeah. Morning, Ella. Yeah, so it's this girl I work with and she does for free ones as like her community service. Now they say when you're good at something, don't do it for free. That sounds like she's a witch. Yeah, what does she do exactly when she goes into these houses and cleanses them? I have no idea of it.
Starting point is 00:18:15 She's so like spiritual. She'll go into houses and like she said she did one recently and she said it was like a vortex and so she gets like she can like sense them and then like feels like all the pull of energy and but then i i almost don't want her inside my house i don't want her to bring all her energy that she's gathered from other places what's her ghostbuster hit rate like does she get rhythm every time i think so she's like like she lives in a haunted house as well but her house okay wait anywhere near my house it sounds like either she's a really shitty spiritual cleanser they won't leave her house or does she invite
Starting point is 00:18:55 them into her house because she likes them. I think her ones are friendly, like they've been there forever. Oh yeah, like Casper. I don't care if it's a friendly ghost or an unfriendly ghost. I don't want a ghost generally. Yeah, I don't want one in my house. Ella, what do you think that chances are Ella that this is just Dan's been caught cheating or hanging out with some other girl named Natalie by his son?
Starting point is 00:19:14 And so Dan's fabricated this whole ghost story, which is genius, by the way, if you ever realize that your kid's going to rat you out for cheating. And then you go, oh, you're seeing this Natalie ghost joke. Well, I don't think Jan's like that, eh? No, I'm not like that, Ella. And if I was going to hide her, I wouldn't Velcro her to the roof. No. So, you know what, I think, yeah, it's not me.
Starting point is 00:19:38 No. If George starts saying, yeah, Ella was in, like, a swing the other day. And then she was wearing, like, lots of black lingerie. Yeah. He'd be like, okay, mate. She was black laundry. She was in a swing a lot yesterday, hanging from the roof. Like I said.
Starting point is 00:19:54 Okay, you've got me. caught me. I've got a mistress. Thanks Ella. So no cleansing necessary? I don't think I want that bitch in my house. That woman that's already got a haunted house herself. I don't want her bringing her demons into my house. At the moment, George seems to enjoy the company. He loves it. It's just an imaginary friend.
Starting point is 00:20:10 What does your mum think? She, I think, is scared to come over as well. She would be very, very nervous. We should do a stakeout. You and me and get some, like, ghost goggles or whatever, and see, we find it. I don't think ghost goggles are a thing, that. Favorite radio show? In podcast form.
Starting point is 00:20:27 Edge Breakfast, Clint Meg and Dan. Nage. Easy money. $1,000 on the line. Let's play. Easy money. Sorry, Dan, you're saying. Sorry, I spoke too quickly there.
Starting point is 00:20:36 Let's have a quick practice, shall we? Now, Lucy's in the studio now, filling in for Meg today. Let's see how good you'd be. Question. Is this practice actually for Lucy? Or is it a practice for you to read questions? A little bit of both, Clinton.
Starting point is 00:20:49 Because Meg usually does the questions, and she does them very well, so I don't want to let her down, Also, yeah, because if you stumble reading the questions, you could ruin the time. Okay. Appreciate it. So 30 seconds on the clock, Lucy. Okay, lock in.
Starting point is 00:21:03 Your time will start as soon as you hear the first question. Your letter is P. P. Pee. Pee for peacock. Let's get paid. All right now, okay, lock in. Lucy, name for me, an animal.
Starting point is 00:21:14 A peacock. Country. Uh, palestine. A fruit. Uh, peaches. A musical instrument. Piano. Something round.
Starting point is 00:21:22 A porcupine. A brand. Pictures and groom. Something with buttons. Pins stripe shirt. A herb or spice. Pass. Pass. Pass.
Starting point is 00:21:36 A band. A position of leadership. Oh, Prime Minister. Okay, correct. So we'll go back to a herbal spice. Yes, so that's good practice for you, dance. Where they pass. If we get to 10, you've got to work out which time to go back to.
Starting point is 00:21:51 I think I nailed that. I feel like Lucy you're a little bit loose Lucy. I mean they call me loose Lucy It's all right, I'll take it You went better than I thought Do they call you loose Lucy? Sorry, no, I retract that comment
Starting point is 00:22:04 Right Did you miss that Clint? She just said that people call her loose Lucy Yeah, yeah, yeah I caught it Okay Well, Jada wants to spend $1,000 bucks on tatters
Starting point is 00:22:14 Hamiora wants to buy a fish tank Love that for you They're the best Um McKita Tull tool someone will blow a thousand bucks on someone else is a solo mum of four wants to put it towards a car I kind of like what
Starting point is 00:22:28 Mark suggests that he is he lives rural and hasn't had a chance to splurge on new clothes in many many years he would spend some of the money on some new clothes I think he deserves it easy money Clint time get you ready broken and Dan oh my god easy money
Starting point is 00:22:45 good morning three past seven here we go Meg's away today so Dan will be reading the questions and Mark enticed us to get him on the show to play this morning saying it's been 500 bucks on a new wardrobe. How long's it been marked since you bought something for yourself? Oh, maybe 15, 20 years. I buy the old t-shirt every now and then,
Starting point is 00:23:04 but apart from that year, just rocking the same clothes since wherever. Loddy, how 15 years! Do you know what, though? You were probably out of fashion for a long time, and you're probably back in fashion again. Yeah, true. A lot of baggy jeans and stuff. What are you wearing right now?
Starting point is 00:23:16 Yeah, yeah. What are you wearing right now? Yep. Oh, right now I've got my farm clothes on because I'm on the farm. Of course, you're a farmer. Well, sold of the earth. battle. Let's see if we can win you a thousand bucks, Mark. Dan, asking dudes what they're wearing?
Starting point is 00:23:28 Hey, you things haven't changed since I've been away, I see? No, no. I like to know what people are wearing. Now, Mark, your answer this morning is Z, Z. Right. Z, all right. There aren't that many options for Zed, so hopefully they come to you really quickly, Mark. 30 seconds on the clock, bro, for a new wardrobe. Here we go.
Starting point is 00:23:46 Mark, the letter Z. Name for me a number. Zero. A girl's name. Zara A boy's name Zach A country
Starting point is 00:24:00 Um Zimbabwe Something round Um A A A A celebrity
Starting point is 00:24:12 Um Zach Airfront A brand A brand A brand Um A brand um Um
Starting point is 00:24:21 Pass Damn that they went Man That was It was a fairly Good effort You got four in a row at the start You passed on something round.
Starting point is 00:24:32 You could have gone a Zorb Ball Zero. Zucchini slices. A few options there. Yeah. Sorry, Mark. No new clothes for you. Damn. Nah, that's all good.
Starting point is 00:24:44 Maybe Helen Sine bros might be listening. They could reach out to us and Kit Mark out and some nice new stuff. Yeah, all barkers. Hey, no, there's a thought. That's a good idea. Yeah, you'd throw it out to the universe, bro. You never know. See what happens.
Starting point is 00:24:56 Yeah, get in touch. Thanks, Mark. Awesome. No worries. Go to your brother. What a lovely guy. All right, what you got coming up next. We'll find out what's going on in the world that you need to know about for September 8th.
Starting point is 00:25:07 And then we talk the Gallagher feud, sibling feuds. If you've ever had a family feud, we'd love to know about that coming up in the next 15, 20 minutes. Yeah, there's a new documentary about Oasis and the Gallagher brothers. A feud that has lasted, I think, almost 20 years. They've got to work it out, though, because it's better for their wallets. It is. Isn't it, when they get along? This is the Clint McGinn-Dan-Dan catch-up.
Starting point is 00:25:31 Want to hear the guys off air in a little looser? Listen and watch their Overtinkers podcast. Clint Mac and Dan's. What you, watch you, what you want! What you got? A few stories put on your radar for Tuesday, 8th of September. It's a story during the rounds at the moment. In Germany, they currently, for some reason, I don't know why.
Starting point is 00:25:48 Their working week is 35 to 36 hours. So their work day is capped at 8 hours per day. So obviously they're working a little bit less over there. It must be capped at seven hours a day. Yeah, well, I don't know. It says eight hours max per day. But there's the boss of the German chainsaw manufacturer still. So you know still products?
Starting point is 00:26:08 They make chainsaws, power drills, all that sort of thing. He's calling for Germans to work longer hours for the same pay. So he's saying that they need to extend it to 40 hours a week, which I think is the norm across the board, same in New Zealand, without getting extra pay because Germany needs more productivity. So what makes them better than us then that they get to work less hours? Well, I think maybe in Germany they maybe are happy. because they're working slightly less.
Starting point is 00:26:30 I also read something about the fact that if you take sick leave, the boss wants to only pay you from day two. So it stops people just taking a hangover day on a Monday. That's true. I reckon that it'd stop some people having sick days here. Yeah, looking at your kind, Loose. Oh, excuse me, I'm good. I've only taken like four days off so far.
Starting point is 00:26:48 This monk. Yeah, Lucy, normally looking after the night show with Ollie. What do you got? Okay, so we've gone for a bit of royal... T. This morning. King Charles says no change to Prince Harry Megan Markle's royal status.
Starting point is 00:27:04 So apparently they're supposed to be coming back to Britain. But he's standing on business and he's saying, no, they're not coming back into the royal fold. Whatever that means. Well, they're already back. They're back into the UK. They moved back a couple of weeks ago. Oh, see, I don't know that.
Starting point is 00:27:16 And so I think they were hoping that they were going to be included in the royal family so they get the security and all the same perks that the royal family get. But because they've left, Charles's like, no, you left, your choice. Yeah, they made a whole net for the way. documentary about it and then there was all that beef
Starting point is 00:27:30 it's like are you a megal a megal megan markle side or are you not surely they could afford their own security well I think I saw a thing that's saying that Harry was saying it was like nearly a million dollars a year for them to get security damn so they were hoping that daddy was going to pay for him
Starting point is 00:27:45 oh daddy's money I know that life yeah and the wise going into the NRL playoffs on Saturday against the Dolphins 605 that one kicks off I don't realize though the Dolphins probably not the team we wanted to draw in the first round. They're the form team, right?
Starting point is 00:28:01 They, in the last seven times we've played them, we've won three, lost four. And every single game, we have either won or lost by within four points in the last seven times we've played them. 26, 24, 2018, 38, 34, 2018, 16, 12. There is like nothing in it every time we play them. So it's going to be a tough one come Saturday for the wires to win. Because if they do, they skip round two and go. straight to round three, they get a buy week. There's a thing, though.
Starting point is 00:28:31 They may be the form team. They may be playing very well, but they're still called the Dolphins. Like, that's not a cool name for an NRL team, is it? Like, we're the Warriors. Wait, where are they from? Reds under the water? H2O. I reckon just put a couple of fingers in their blowholes.
Starting point is 00:28:50 You're not allowed to do that. No. Hopwyddy tried many years ago. That was a different blowhole, and he got in a lot of trouble for that. Cliff Began Dan Edge Breakfast Oasis I mean they've just
Starting point is 00:29:07 come off the back last year of one of the biggest tours in recent times toured around the world and it was a reunion tour because Liam and Noel Gallagher famously stopped talking
Starting point is 00:29:20 in the early 2000s and then just had a feud for 15 years because you must miss him on stage sometimes Not particularly no Yeah, there's a new documentary that's just come out Sort of documenting this last tour Which happened last year And getting back together after a 15-year feud
Starting point is 00:29:41 Yeah, brother against brother We do, we do get quite nasty Just our man, Gallagher Start to see himself as a bit of a mud genius But he's not quite a grassroots genius, but yeah He wants to be the money in charge He wants to be the main money through it Yeah, I mean it's one of the most famous feuds
Starting point is 00:29:57 In rock and pop history, isn't it? between two brothers, one of the biggest bands in the world, Oasis, and then they just disband after only a few years together. Money talks, though? Yeah, and so they got back together, huge money. Have they said how much? Because this is how much Noel said it would take for him to work with his brother again. If anybody wants to offer me a $100 million now, I'll say it now, I'll do it.
Starting point is 00:30:21 I'll do it for $100 million. Oh, mate, we'd all do anything for $100 million, would we? Yeah. So I think it was something close to that, let's be honest. Really? The tour had completely sold out. Like they went all around the world, sell out stadiums around the place. And now this new documentary is documenting the stuff.
Starting point is 00:30:37 There's conflicting reports about why the feud started. Obviously, they just were brothers that always bicker and argue. There was a tambourine incident that apparently was the precursor to it, where I think one of them threw a tambourine at the other one's head. Oh, mate. And he's like, right, I'm not working with you. Even if someone offers me 50 million, I'm not working with you anymore after that tambourine. But now I've just been watching it.
Starting point is 00:30:56 It's been on my For You page on TikTok quite a bit. them at the premiere of this new documentary. Hey, buddy, buddy. They're laughing. They've got their hands around each other, like kissing each other on the cheek, like brothers do? Do you do that to your brother?
Starting point is 00:31:08 No, really. And just love and life. So there's a lot of people even calling it out saying that the feud wasn't even real. They were just doing it for the money. So... That's... Oh, but that's hard.
Starting point is 00:31:19 You miss, like, a decade of relationship with your sibling. I guess when you get $100 million, maybe that's the cost. And so, yeah, as I said before, the tambourinensis. a lot of people say was the start of this feud. Dan and I would love to know, because there are families that don't get along,
Starting point is 00:31:36 what was the family feud about? And then we'll try and guess how long it's been since you guys had the old silent tree. Maybe it was like how long you went. Maybe you're still going that you still don't talk to each other. Maybe you were at a wedding and your uncle tipped a glass of beer over your mum's head and called her a mole.
Starting point is 00:31:55 And then we've got to guess how long the feud went Off the back of that incident. I'm not speaking from experience there. How long did they not talk after that? We'll guess. Get your Clint Meg and Dan Fax. What was the family feud about? We'll guess how long the feud's been going for.
Starting point is 00:32:13 Interesting text here from Brooke saying in November my Oma passed away. And one week later, I was in Ozzy and got a call saying that granddad was with a new woman. Within the week? Within the week. Yeah, but when you're 80, mate, you don't have a lot of time. Yeah, do you think? But you'd think you would just, you'd just, you'd, You've been in love for 50, 60 years of your life.
Starting point is 00:32:31 You couldn't move on. You could argue, though, he's never been alone for 50 decades. Unless they're one of those old couples that just bicker all the time. You know, he was just hoping she was dead. He's like, now I can finally move on. Okay, so how long did the family feud for? I'd say they'd be feuding for a while. I reckon six months easy on that.
Starting point is 00:32:49 Granddad moving on after a week of Nana dying. Well, the feud still exists, apparently, so it's open-ended. Yeah. Let's go to Briety on 0800-Eage. Morning Bridie. Good morning. Now, what was the family feud? You tell us what caused it or what happened,
Starting point is 00:33:03 and we'll try and guess how long it's lasted. I'm, I'll start, I'm Australian. Okay. And I married across the ditch, and it's, yeah, and moved across the ditch shortly after, and I haven't spoken to majority of my family things. Wait, wait, wait, wait, we got angry because you married a Kiwi. All because he moved.
Starting point is 00:33:29 They did. They were irritated that I married a Kiwi, who then became a policeman, and then I moved to New Zealand, and it was the icing on the cake. So what's their beef with New Zealanders? Just don't like us? They just think, why did you go to Kiwi?
Starting point is 00:33:47 You could have stayed home and married an Australia. And then they don't like him because he's taking their little girl away from them. I sort of see why, yeah, maybe moving countries. They're a little bit miffed about that. I reckon this has been a long one. I think we're talking, do we go 20 years? 15, 20 years? Not quite.
Starting point is 00:34:02 Oh, what? Close. Well, it's half that. It's been about 10 years. Oh, my God. Wow. And so you've not heard from anybody back home? Nope, not a single one.
Starting point is 00:34:12 And, like, I'll call and, yeah, it's pretty interesting. Like, I'm flying back home next month, and I'll be making a surprise visit, but it's more interesting than. Oh, flip your phone in for a court for us. Yeah, could you please take us with you? Your partner or your husband must feel like pretty crappy as well because surely it'd feel some sort of guilt that because you're with him, you don't have a relationship with your family, even though it doesn't sound like it's his fault, obviously. He finds it amusing. I think that's what the problem.
Starting point is 00:34:44 Some of the issues is we just kind of find the whole thing quite ludicrous and can't take it seriously. So even though there's the seriousness, we're just like, what the actual? Well, your husband must be worth it. He must be amazing. Well, thanks, Bridie, because I mean, I only just got back from Aulani Resort in Hawaii and hung out with a bunch of Australians over there, and they were the best. To be honest, though, your mum hasn't spoken to you since. So she might have some sort of beef with you. Let's go to Sarah from Papamo.
Starting point is 00:35:11 Sarah, you've got a family feud. What caused it? Yeah, there was a long family feud. My mum's sister called her a snob one night. That'll do it. And they didn't speak for a while. Okay, called her a snob. Okay, so it was just one of the sisters, so she's like, you're a little.
Starting point is 00:35:27 a snob. I don't want to talk to you again. No, I reckon four weeks. It takes about a month. I mean, I think it should be a lot shorter than that. She wouldn't be calling us after four weeks. That's not a pro. I reckon we're talking years. No, calling someone to snob be like two or three days not talking and you'd work it out. Okay, I'm going to go, Clint's going to go a few days. I'm going to go...
Starting point is 00:35:47 Well, I think because you're calling us, it might be a month. I'm going to go 20 years. Okay, well, turns out mum is a bit of a snob. It was 25 years. My God. 25 years. They've only just started talking about five years ago. They're in the 80s now. But she had five siblings,
Starting point is 00:36:06 and she didn't speak any of them for 25 years. What a waste of life, knowing that you could have had this relationship with your family member, and they've just wasted it all because of one word. Yeah, things were a little bit rocky anyway. Now, be honest, Sarah, though. Was she being a bit of a snob?
Starting point is 00:36:22 Absolutely. Okay. That's that a little bit. Thank you, Sarah. Thank you. Yeah, sometimes you don't someone, they just need a home truth, don't they? Yeah. Hey, I've missed quite a bit.
Starting point is 00:36:33 Well, I don't know if I told you down, but I was in Hawaii. Aulani Resort, beautiful spot. I would never have known. But I've missed a lot on the show. I've seen bits and pieces on social. But I'd love a little catch-up lesson, just so I can be up to date with everything that's been going on. I don't think we need to. We're always looking forward on the show.
Starting point is 00:36:47 Never look backwards. Well, I heard Sven, particularly, sorry. I was trying to shave my way. Oh, yeah. Our Swedish correspondent was talking a lot of shit about you. actually. Right, was he in Hawaii? I thought I saw him. Apparently he was. I don't believe it. Okay.
Starting point is 00:37:03 Scandal headlines. Next. Clint Meg and Dan's scandal. Meg normally looking after this, but she's away today. So Lucy from the night show is taking care of it. Thanks, Lucy. Hello, we're so hype. Netflix has just confirmed that in between his three. It is officially in production, baby. Oh, for fuck's sake.
Starting point is 00:37:23 Come on. Simon Bird and Joe Thomas, James Buckley. and Black Harrison all returning as well Simon J and Neil. Super exciting. And then David Harbour and Millie Bobby Brown are reuniting for a Netflix spy series after Stranger Things. Harbour says they loved working to you there
Starting point is 00:37:43 and wanted to explore their on-screen dynamic and a new story. We can't get enough. You think about the audience that we built as we did Stranger Things. I go anywhere in the world and people know the relationship of Hopper and 11. I don't think anyone got along with David Harbour.
Starting point is 00:37:58 I thought they had a feud during Stranger Things. She came out in 2015. They met on the show in 2015 on Strange of Things and then in 2024, she came out saying that there was bullying and harassment between her and harbour, but apparently was never made public. And now they're back to you, the working game. Yeah, money talks, eh? Maybe it was just fun bullying and harassment. Yeah, they're going to... No, I'm not working with them ever again.
Starting point is 00:38:18 30 million. No, 100 million. You're okay. Yeah, let's do a series. Happy days. All right. Let's get-hags in Auckland. The edge. The edge. Clint Meg and Dan. Thank you, Lois. You welcome, Doug. Dan's going to catch me up on all the things that I missed while I was away in Hawaii.
Starting point is 00:38:34 Did you know I was in Hawaii? I did. Stop mentioning it. Someone's actually text through Lisa saying drinking game shot every time Clint says Hawaii or mentions something he got for free. Honestly, we'd be drunk. You can't drink at 7.30. In fact, at Al-Aulani, you can't drink before 10.
Starting point is 00:38:49 I found out when I went to the bar and they're like, it's not open until 10.30. Do you need to get mentions away or something? Have you promised Disney that you get like seven mentions per show? Say them all now. I'll do it for you. Disney, Disney, Disney, Disney, Disney, Disney, Disney. Hawaii Hawaii I went I went I went
Starting point is 00:39:03 No more now Thank you guys It's the edge Get your Clint Meggin Dan Fax The Edge Clint megan Dan I've been away a few days
Starting point is 00:39:11 Because I was in Don't mention it He was in Hawaii That's all we need to know And if you do go there Awalani Resort No no no no no Previously on
Starting point is 00:39:21 Clint Megant All right But I don't know What's been going on On the show Actually I caught a little Stuff in that Well the thing is
Starting point is 00:39:27 With the show If you miss a little You miss a lot Clint you've been away, so I'm sort of averse to even telling you what happened. Do you know, though, I get DMs from Edge listeners going, oh, that must have been funny, or, oh, did you hear Dan did this?
Starting point is 00:39:38 Like, they're rats, mate, they'll throw you under the bus while I'm away. Okay, well... So I found out Sven threw a bit of shade at me while I was away. Yeah, he did. He was our Swedish correspondent, if you've never heard of Sven,
Starting point is 00:39:49 and he was actually over in Hawaii with you. Was he? I'm surprised you don't remember catching up with him because he interviewed you. Oh, and was he staying at O'ulani Resort as well? I don't blame him, a beautiful spot. Clinton Randall, morning. I'm Clint Randall and I'm the host of The Mask Singer.
Starting point is 00:40:05 That's great stuff. What have your family been doing this whole time? I ended up doing a huckard to a busload of people with my shirt off. Not one of my finest moments. Oh, that does sound embarrassing. Is that the most shameful thing you've ever done? I sing my vows to Jamie on our wedding day. Oh, that's a great life.
Starting point is 00:40:22 I think what's happened there is he's just grabbed clips of you from the radio in the past and then pretended he interviewed you. Sounds like it actually. Lazy. Lazy. Yeah, also, Olivia Dean, I missed the winner. Yeah, we gave away an incredible trip. We were giving it, like, putting people in the draw for the last, what, three weeks for all expenses paid trip to Auckland.
Starting point is 00:40:44 You and three mates, accommodation, flights, like the whole thing. And we gave it away yesterday. It wasn't one of those people who's just come back from holiday. You know, when you go, have you been? Where was the last time we're on a plane? They're like, I just got back from the UK. Very deserving winner. Bianca speaking.
Starting point is 00:40:58 Bianca! Hello. Do you know who this is? Is this the E? Yes. Do you know what that means? Did I just want? You just won't.
Starting point is 00:41:12 Oh my God. It's absolutely awesome. Thank you so much. You're welcome. She was very well disturbing. In fact, she entered mainly for her brother. I think his name was Justin. We ended up giving him a call as well.
Starting point is 00:41:22 And there was tears everywhere. It was brilliant. A lovely moment. Oh, I remember there was one woman we put in the drawer last week. She was crying just being in the drawer. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:30 People really wanted to go there. She was probably crying yesterday because she didn't win as well. Yeah. That's awkward. Hopefully we have more tickets in the leader. Yeah, hopefully. I mean, it's completely sold out, isn't it? Yeah, you never know what sort of tickets the boss store has hidden up his sleeves.
Starting point is 00:41:46 And Postco playlist, I caught a little bit of that actually. With Rolliston, I did have one bone to pick. Fantastic song. Isn't it Rolliston? Not Rolliston? Rolliston, yeah, the fastest growing city in New Zealand. Did I say it wrong? Well, I mean, the hook is great, but it says Roller.
Starting point is 00:42:06 I thought it was Rolliston. Well, the song was rolling into Rolliston. Well, I knew they'd found their place at last. We're rolling into Rolliston. I thought I had to change the thing, so it sounded like I was rolling into Rollerston. I just wondered if the people of Rollerston would appreciate the Rolliston. Well, to be honest, no one even picked it up, except you. Did you put up negative mancy or something when you were over in Hawaii?
Starting point is 00:42:32 I was like, mate, don't worry about it, Clint. Put your phone down. Just go get another Mai Tai. Hey, here's an idea. If you want to pick stuff up like that, maybe just don't go on holidays. Yeah, well, I think I'm here for a while now. Thank goodness. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:42:44 A couple of months, Matt. Although Cow did a great job, I must say, Cal was here and he did a fantastic job. I'd be worried if I was you. You do got to be careful. You do got to be careful. Looking at you too, Meg, you're away today. Yeah, and Lucy, doing a great job in her place.
Starting point is 00:42:59 All right, I will tell you about one of the most awkward encounters I've ever had, though, with a man who was working at the resort. His name was Gabrielle. And we got chatting, and it only took probably about four or five minutes before I found myself with one of the most embarrassing encounters with another human being, and the reason why I tried to avoid Gabrielle for the rest of the trip. I've never met a bad Gabrielle.
Starting point is 00:43:21 Really? Yeah. No, he was lovely. He just won't want to be my friend after our interaction. Is it because you keep mentioning Disney all the time? Because it does get quite... Take the edge of your day with Clint Meg and Dan. Hitch.
Starting point is 00:43:34 Clint Megan Dan, Megawakee 6 today and I'm back from a pretty quick trip to Hawaii. Welcome back, Clint. Yeah. We're in Hawaii? Yeah, didn't mention it. Also, one really cool thing that America does
Starting point is 00:43:47 that we should adopt here is whenever you use like a restroom, it's always pull to enter the bathroom and a push to leave. Whereas in New Zealand, I notice, you go wash your hands and you've got to grab the handle and pull to leave a bathroom.
Starting point is 00:43:59 I do think that. Is that just a New Zealand thing? It must be, because everywhere I went, in America it was always pushed to exit the bathroom I always just pull my sleeve down and like touch the handle that way
Starting point is 00:44:09 yuck yeah anyway everyone at the resort but everyone that worked there is so lovely but I think it's because you tip right so everyone goes above and beyond to be super nice
Starting point is 00:44:19 fine cool hopefully you were tipping a lot because it was free yeah yeah so you would have been tipping like well and above what other people would have been doing yeah yeah
Starting point is 00:44:28 Gabrielle we were feeding the coy fish that were around the resort and Gabrielle was chatting to us and he goes oh my God I've been to New Zealand I got a camper van I toured all around the South Island
Starting point is 00:44:40 and I was like oh amazing and we got talking about some of the places he had seen and even though he was butchering the Māori pronunciation for all of these places I'd sort of worked out what he meant At least he was giving it a go
Starting point is 00:44:50 True right and then he was talking about the beautiful lakes and stuff I said oh do you go to Lake Tikapur and he goes He went no Lake Tikipo He goes I'm not sure and I go
Starting point is 00:45:00 oh I've got a photo of it So I go through my phone and then awkwardly I've got to go back like three years to try and find it whilst trying to keep a conversation going and I almost bail on it and I find it and I shot on the phone and he goes oh wow that's amazing and I realized I had a video of it so I go
Starting point is 00:45:15 hold on bro check this out this is how clear the water is there so I'm trying to show off the South Islands to my new American friend and I show him this video and the video starts out with just this beautiful clear water and you can see the rocks through it and I start panning
Starting point is 00:45:31 like around so you can see the mountains. And what I don't realize this is at the end of the video and the reason why I filmed this is because I start it's like a POV and I start urinating into Lake Tekepo and you see foreground pain.
Starting point is 00:45:53 Bloody hell. Only you could have foreground pain. Oh sorry man that's just somebody goes, you taking a piss. to explain that producer Carl Introduce me to an Instagram page that I follow What is it called? Carl It's and you can submit you
Starting point is 00:46:17 Weeing in these beautiful areas Oh hold on Yeah it's called Scenic Piss on Instagram Of course it is What a thoughtful name How many They've got quite a few followers
Starting point is 00:46:29 Last time I checked Oh yeah they've got tons actually It's a really good follow I've actually set up a text bounce back A few texts pissed to three three Jesus Christ honestly
Starting point is 00:46:38 he's back one day 1.5 million followers and normally all it is is just this beautiful like shot of mountains and then you just see like a urine stream there's another guy
Starting point is 00:46:49 the latest one he's skydiving and he whips it out and he's like weing mid-scott you don't see you don't actually see anything R-rated
Starting point is 00:46:57 you just see like a urine stream except in your one there was some foreground paint well yeah but I probably edited that out before I submitted it but obviously
Starting point is 00:47:04 that was the raw video in my photo library. Did a bit of cropping. I will say this, though, it is a risky maneuver, letting someone go through your camera roll. And, like, you know, you show them a photo. And it's like, I hear some photos of my kid.
Starting point is 00:47:16 And they keep scrolling too far, and then they instantly see a photo of your... Something. That's what I'd love to know. Have you ever handed over your phone? And it was, like, the worst possible time. And they saw something, a notification, a text, something that they shouldn't have seen.
Starting point is 00:47:31 And now you have a rule that you will never give your phone to anybody without still maintaining, like, contact with it. There is also this. There's an ungodly amount of people texting piss right now. You're all filthy. Yeah. You're all filthy. Anyway, that was an old me as well.
Starting point is 00:47:45 That was from, like, two years ago. I was very immature then. I was in my 30s. So what did Gabriel say when he saw the photo of your... Are we just going to carry it? I'm talking? Like, it never happened. Lake Tickapur.
Starting point is 00:47:55 More like, like, take a piss. Oh yeah, I didn't do the first. I don't do the first. I wait, under the edge. Why will you never hand your phone over to another human being after? A bad experience. Listen to your favorite breakfast show whenever you like. Clint McGinn Dan.
Starting point is 00:48:14 Sandy Fadero, think about us. Getting close to 8 o'clock, Clint Meg and Dan. Meg away today, so we've got Lucy here and there from the night show with us. And I'd love to know what did they see when you handed your phone over to somebody. And so you'll never actually do that again. I think you now have a rule after I was showing American guy Lake Tecapur and how beautiful it is. And then I forgot that I urinated into that lake and submitted that video to scenic piss, which was on Instagram.
Starting point is 00:48:39 Millions of followers. It's just a dumb, fun thing I followed. Did they ever share it out of interest? I don't know if they did. I'm not sure. Yeah. Yeah, so, yeah, what happened to you? And you're like, now I will never give my phone
Starting point is 00:48:49 to anybody ever again. Mine's my friend. She won't mind me saying this, I hope. She had a guy around one time, and she'd gone to the toilet and her laptop had died and they were about to watch a movie, so I'd charged her laptop. But he needed her password.
Starting point is 00:49:00 So before she walked out the room, she put her password in, but it was dead. And the last time it died, she was watching some adult fun stuff. And he opened it. And it was mid-video. Oh, my nightmare.
Starting point is 00:49:12 And it was so bad. And she literally had to just, like, roll over laugh, like, crying because it was so awkward to the point where, like, he just got up and was like, what are you watching? Always close your tabs. 1-0-1. No-1. Why will you never hand your phone over to anyone again? I tend to take lots of photos and videos of everything I'm doing. and so
Starting point is 00:49:37 Crate Day last year I took a video of my boyfriend trying to finish his crate I showed my family this video and then they continued swiping throughout my camera roll and ended up seeing an R-rated
Starting point is 00:49:52 video of him chasing me on Crate Day So he obviously finished the crate then He finished the crate but then they've decided to keep looking if he finished a second crape. Oh, my goodness me. Thank you for being cryptic enough.
Starting point is 00:50:10 Emma? Yeah, it was almost difficult to be cryptic with that sort of situation. Oh my God, Sasha says, I let my boss scroll through my phone to look at our house that we just bought. She kept scrolling and then saw pics that I'd sent to my partner the night before. My mother-in-law was scrolling-looking photos of her grandson scroll too far and sort of photo of my hemorrhoid. Oh, my God!
Starting point is 00:50:30 So many of these going through. Oh, God. We have to get to easy money, but maybe we'll look at this again. What's that? What's that there? Pinching in, zooming out. Stop. Close up with Mars or something, is it? All right. Why do you now have a rule that you will never hand your phone to somebody unsupervised?
Starting point is 00:50:47 Oh, 8-100-the-edge. Text us 3343, but let's try a giveaway a thousand bucks. With easy money next. Easy money. Time for your favorite game. Easy money. Here we go, 30 seconds on the clock, if you can give us 10 answers in 30 seconds, starting today with the letter E for easy money. A thousand bucks is all yours, Levi. Morning, Levi. Christchurch.
Starting point is 00:51:07 Yeah, you're at Christchurch. Is this the same Levi that won the Up the Was competition a couple of weeks ago? Yeah, it is, yeah. Hey, get in. Give us your Up the Was. Hey. Give us your Up the Was. Go on.
Starting point is 00:51:21 Quick one. Oh, yeah. Up the Wars, yeah. So good. He's good. Yeah, it's 6 o'clock Saturday. Take it on the Dolphins. We'll get the job done, surely, Levi.
Starting point is 00:51:31 Okay, Levi. Your letter this morning. Your letter this morning is E, E for easy money. Okay. Good to go. All right, time starts at the end of Dan asking your first question. Good luck, brother. Good luck, Evi. With the letter E, give me a body part. Yes. An animal.
Starting point is 00:51:52 Elephant. A country. Egypt. A number. A bird. Eagle. A famous mountain. Everest.
Starting point is 00:52:05 Something you'd use. school? A writer. A movie. Oh, skip. Something hot. That's fine. So for a movie, you passed on that, you could have said E.T. Eat, pray, love, elf, EZA, among others. But you know what?
Starting point is 00:52:31 We've got the answers in front of us, don't we? Yeah, something hot, embers, engine. All right, sorry, brother. Yeah, that was good, man. Anywhere 8 plus, you know, you're in a category of the great. Yeah, well, well, don't leave. us out with an up the waz. Go on. I love he still gave a gustow. And it was like, Up the Waz. Yeah, you could be really depressed right now, Levi, so thank you.
Starting point is 00:52:56 Thank you, brother. It's breakfast. Once a week, we fight it out and decide which three celebrities deserve to be at the top as we put together an A-list list. We have Lucy from the night show helping us out this morning with Megaway today. Now, Lucy, just be careful. I just want to warn you, Clint gets physical and you're really angry when we pay this game. A couple of weeks ago, head-butted me, He's lying, but I'm not lying when I say,
Starting point is 00:53:22 normally at the end of this game, dang, so rucked up, he goes, I don't think we do that anymore. It's just, honestly, it pisses me off, I get too angry. Yeah, because Clint up. The Roundhouse kicked me to the back of the head. Clinton Randall, too far.
Starting point is 00:53:33 He arc just legs up and just whacked me. You're flexible like that, geez. Both of them. At the same time. Yeah, it was incredible, actually. Anyway. Okay, you got three names you want to put up for discussion this morning, Liz.
Starting point is 00:53:44 Okay, we've got Stephen Spielberg. All right, the men behind some of the greatest scores. Steven Spielberg is, I would say, one of, if not the greatest director of all time. Let me just list a few of the movies he's directed. Go on. Jaws. E.T. Jurassic Park.
Starting point is 00:54:04 Indiana Jones. Schindler's List, saving Private Ryan. And that's just a few of the movies. Nice. And I mean, his name is like A-List status. But I honestly don't know if I can put a face to the name. Oh. I also say something, Clint. I'm so sorry, Dan.
Starting point is 00:54:22 But I had to search up who he was. So for people my age... But I'm not trusting what you think. What, Dan? See? He's getting angry already. I have a valid opinion, thank you very much. I beg to differ there, mate. Dan's like, you just read the names.
Starting point is 00:54:35 You go, okay. Okay, well, I say he's A-list. Tori just said the same. No idea what he looks like. C-list next. Shocking, Tori. Okay, who else have we got? Okay, we're going second. Tom Hanks. Okay.
Starting point is 00:54:48 In a similar ilk to Steve. in Spielberg. Let me list some Tom Hanks movies. Go on. Forest Gump. Saving Private Ryan. Castaway. The Green Mile. Toy Story, where he plays Woody. Still acting in his 60s.
Starting point is 00:55:02 Yeah, there's few people that can do a movie where they say nothing for an hour and castaway and still keep you entertained. Captain Phillips. You know where the guy says, I'm the Captain now. I'm the Captain now. You can't do the accent. No, I shouldn't do it. But he is, I would say, up there with some of the best actors in the world.
Starting point is 00:55:17 I would say he's a bona fide lister as well. I tend to agree. I think he's an easy A. Yeah, I'd agree there. 60 movies, two Oscars. Yep. I'll bet you're there. Two?
Starting point is 00:55:26 Yeah. For Philadelphia and Forrest Gump. I think there's a good effort. Still, none of us have. Not many people have multiple Oscars. Oh, Nicole's gone B. Nicole, you're high, man. Okay, and who's the third one?
Starting point is 00:55:39 Last, we're going for Miss Adela. Single name Adel. I mean, normally that is A list behavior, having just a one name. Now the problem is that She hasn't released music in a while It's been I think four years since she released an album And I've also got an auntie Adele
Starting point is 00:55:58 And I also always just call her Adele as well She's not famous, is she? Well, no I think for me, Adele's only thing is her career Has been shorter than the other two So what are we doing with that? We're putting her up because she's just a baddie in general? I'm just saying Lucy
Starting point is 00:56:13 If we were just like going out to get coffee And by chance Adel was visiting New Zealand She was on holiday Do you think if she walked past us in the street We'd go, oh my God, that's Adele? Or we would just carry on walking? Oh my God, I'd stop and like cry. Do you reckon?
Starting point is 00:56:27 I don't even know what she looks like anymore. I'd be the same as you loose. I would honestly lose my crap if I saw Adele. Love it a bit. Wow. Okay, yeah, I just, I mean, no she keeps changing how she looks a lot. I mean, good for her, look however you want. I just don't know if, you think people would notice.
Starting point is 00:56:41 I think I'd walk past her and have no idea. But listen to her vocals, come on. That is a last vocal. That is why she's a B for me. Oh, nah. See, I'm about to get physical. My legs are going to go up in there in a second. Nah. Ariana Grande is going to go up in there.
Starting point is 00:56:54 You need to stop saying these in your windows, Lucy. You really do need to. I tell you it's a callback gag to the Roundhouse kick stuff. No, no. Okay, so there's a mixed bag on the text machine. A lot of people saying that Adele is an A, in fact, all three of them are A's. Someone else has said Tom Hanks is a B, bit old and washed out. Oh, okay, mate.
Starting point is 00:57:12 Come on. Hold up. I'd like to know how old you are. Okay, so Tom Hanks, Stephen Spielberg, and Adele. Where are we putting them? I don't think they're all A-listers. No. I think I would have to put Adela to B as well. If we're comparing them to Tom Hanks.
Starting point is 00:57:30 We've got an A, B, and a C, right there. So clear as day. Okay, 3-3-4-3. Or give us a call, 0-800 with the edge. We want to weigh in, and we'll settle this. Make the final decision next. Lucy from the night show, filling in for Meg with the A-lister this morning and has produced three celebrity names.
Starting point is 00:57:51 decide where they go A, B, or C. And you've racked the nation up, Luce. I have a sart of beef on 33-4-3. We're going Stephen Spielberg, Tom Hanks and Adele. Now, I would say this is probably the most mixed bag we've had in terms of feedback for the A-list. Let's just go straight to the phones. Morning, Tori. Hi.
Starting point is 00:58:08 Now, you've got an opinion on Tom Hanks. Is he A, B, or C, in your opinion? I'm going B. He's an older washed up. Tori. I mean, I know the name, but couldn't really tell you what he's in. Are you like, what is wrong? I'm sorry, I love you, Tori.
Starting point is 00:58:24 I do, I really love you, but you need to check yourself before you wreck yourself. Do you know what? I reckon Brad Pitt goes into the A-list party and goes, oh my God, Tom Hanks is here. I must be, yeah, yeah, yeah. I must go and introduce myself. I know, like Tom Hanks's top-tier actor. Wow. Maybe I'm just not a movie person.
Starting point is 00:58:40 Really? I mean, you're a title-turvy. So you're putting a B in Tom Hanks' name, Tom Hanks' name. Okay, so thanks for that. Let's go to Liv on 0800 of the Edge. Morning, Liv. Hi. So we're debating on the A-list, Adele, Stephen Spielberg, Tom Hanks.
Starting point is 00:58:56 Since we just spoke to Tori, what are your views on Tom Hanks, first of all? Well, they're all, all of them are all A-list celebrities. Everyone of every age either knows who they are or what they've done, especially Tom Hanks. I think you're speaking a lot of truth here. Oh, Liv, I didn't know who Steven Spielberg was. I'd to search him up. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, but I think he deserves a B a C. You would know exactly what movies he's done.
Starting point is 00:59:20 Oh, only off Google if I searched him up. That might say more about you than him. Yeah, I would agree. I think most people, when you hear the name Stephen Spielberg, at least no movie director. But thanks for your call him. Yeah, but then, like, in Lucy's defence, I googled Stephen thinking when his face came up, I'd be like,
Starting point is 00:59:36 oh, that guy. And I went, oh, yeah, okay, I can't have seen him around. Yeah. And Zara, you'd be on the same view as Lucy. You don't know who the hell Stephen Spielberg is. Yes, I know his name, but I couldn't tell you what he looks like, I couldn't tell you what movies he does from the top of my head. Shocking.
Starting point is 00:59:52 Thank you, Zara, for backing me out. Shocking. Have you heard of E.T. and Jurassic Park? Well, I know the movies, but I just couldn't tell you that he directed that. Okay, and so you also put Tom Hanks at a B. What about Adele? God, this isn't happening. Adele, I think Adele is an A.
Starting point is 01:00:09 I love it. I'd back you on that, Zara. Okay, okay, let's go to one last one. Let's go to Rachel. I mean, you're not having the final say, but you're adding to it. Let's just go quick fire, Rachel. Adele, what are you putting her at? A.
Starting point is 01:00:21 Okay, Tom Hanks. A, definitely. Like, if he came to a party, everyone would be there wanting to sit. 100%. 100%. I agree with that. What about Stephen Spielberg? He's the most contentious here, I think.
Starting point is 01:00:33 Well, I'd go B. Like, I think he deserves A for what he's done workwise, but I just don't think he's the face of anything. No, you don't go, oh, cool, there's Steven Spielberg with him on the street. And he's okay with that. I think he enjoys being the brains behind some of the biggest movies without having to be in the spotlight. He's a nonchalant king, he is.
Starting point is 01:00:52 Oh, Matt says you're a bunch of crackheads. They're all A's. Yeah, I agree. I think that we are dealing with three A's here, but that is my personal opinion, and it differs from what you guys have said. So here are the results. Okay, go on.
Starting point is 01:01:05 Collated from calls and text machine. Tom Hanks. Don't. Right, maybe. Unfortunately, I disagree, but he has a been. according to the listeners of this radio show. Daniel, we'll be.
Starting point is 01:01:21 If we average out all the texts and all the calls we've got, I think it's 50-50 between people saying he's an A and a B-lister, which means we can't put him in an A. We just can't. I'm going to cry. So Tom Hanks is a bona fide B-lister, unfortunately. Let's now go to Adele. You've got to say A-mate.
Starting point is 01:01:42 Taking into consideration all the texts and all the calls. Adele is also a B. I'm actually happier with that because I think Tom should be higher so if they're even It's a fair game And Stephen Spielberg The director of Jurassic Park
Starting point is 01:01:58 Many other films Jaws Shindler's List E.T. He's probably the most gifted director of a generation According to the text of this radio show and calls He's also a B-lister
Starting point is 01:02:10 There is no A-lister this week I thought he was going to be a C He's on the same level as Tom Manx You guys are crickets Matt was right. We need, I think, a reset on this game. Oh, Laura's swearing. She ain't happy. Yeah, so am I, Laura.
Starting point is 01:02:24 I want to say exactly what you said, but unfortunately there is a full-cast standards authority. Flat Idol is next. We are going to hear an original song from a group of Flaties and Duned and hoping to win tickets to R&V. It's The Edge. The Edge is the home of Clint McGendam.
Starting point is 01:02:38 It's Flat Idol. Right, this week we are going to be debuting original songs from flats around the country yesterday. If you missed it, I'll recap that one for you because it was a bit of a banger. Yeah, we used to do this called Flat Wars where we'd have a whole load of different challenges
Starting point is 01:02:56 for flats like Egan Spoon races and that have to compete in different challenges each week. This time though, it's just a song. But I think it is a hard task, isn't it, making a song? Yeah, well, if they get your vote over the weekend, voting will open on Friday, let's keep it all fair, so everyone gets the same amount of time to accumulate votes. They'll win six tickets to R&V,
Starting point is 01:03:20 the last two Ryan Gizzy, VIP Vintage Club upgrade, and also accommodations. There's a lot riding on it. Yeah, yesterday's song from the White Palace, I think it was in Dunedinidad. They are a hard act to follow. Fourth year, Gizzy, we've earned our stripes. Four-day benders, questionable nights.
Starting point is 01:03:36 Banks says no, but our heart say yes. Gats to Gizzy, we'll handle the rest. Be here before you, we know the drill. Lose our makes by nine Find him over the hill Four two by Sunday morning And who the heck I greens if he hits. Yeah, very good
Starting point is 01:04:02 That's very well written lyrics And a great original song as well But Isabella now joins us From another flat The next flat off the rank The 2-1-2 Morning Isabella Good morning
Starting point is 01:04:15 Okay, so you guys have finished your song Yeah, are you nervous hearing The song we just played Going, uh... Nah, I'm not nervous at all Okay, good. Good. So you're confident in your output, your song, your single is ready to go.
Starting point is 01:04:30 Yeah, it's all out there. Okay, well only one flat will be packing their bags for the final R&V and Gizzy. You guys are hoping it is you. You've done a cover of a well-known song, I hear. Yes, yeah, we've picked two well-known songs, and then we can't sing, just trying to have some fun. We all, yeah, came together and, yeah, remix the songs to make them our own. Okay, well, the floor is yours.
Starting point is 01:04:55 Intro the song and tell us your name, your band name and the name of the song. So this is the 2-1-2. It's our flat song and, yeah. Okay, good luck to. Hope you like it. Debuting on the edge for the very first time. Let's take a listen. So far, so good.
Starting point is 01:05:19 I love it. Packing our bags, yeah, we're heading to Gizbin, Gizmin. Gold is our cup of ambition. capital city so our vibes are always high knit in the halls where the two and two started Meg Clint and Dan don't leave us Broke him and Heart We need to be dancing to live in from 9 to 5 AM
Starting point is 01:05:38 I love you from him Well they're not using AI I don't think We're the best thing We didn't use any auto tune That's very clear I'm very impressed Isabella Okay Isabella wait let me guess You had arguments in the flat over which song to you,
Starting point is 01:06:43 so as a compromise, you're like, let's just do both. Yes, exactly. And whoever said you should have used five, I reckon you should have gone with that. I think that you finished stronger than you started. Oh, thank you. I think it was a great performance. I think you obviously were working with little to no talent.
Starting point is 01:07:02 And I think, no, no, but I mean that in a good way. In terms of singing prowess, you admitted it in the song. Not great. But I am impressed that you did that. We hope that Edge will love us anyway. Yeah, we do. We love you. Okay, well, six best friends.
Starting point is 01:07:15 They want your vote. Voting will open on Friday when we've heard all of the songs to give them all for your chance. Best to luck, Isabella. Thanks for throwing that together. And how long did that take you, by the way? Um, days.
Starting point is 01:07:29 Jesus. Oh, okay. We put some effort in. Great, I mean, yeah, yeah, we can hear it. Thanks, Isabella, best to luck. Mix bag already on the text machine. Someone said, no, geez, save my ears. Another person said that was bloody epic.
Starting point is 01:07:41 So very polarising song. All right. We're going to need a big jury come Friday and we'll get to hear from our flat. Number three, who are all studying music. Now there is a lot of pressure there because it's an ego, they're going to be amazing. Hey, just because I'm studying engineering
Starting point is 01:07:59 doesn't know how to build a bridge right now, right? But you just sort of hope so. Yeah. I have a fair idea. Okay, so we'll see how that one goes tomorrow with Flat Art or as it continues and we'll hear all five original songs. Now coming up next, we're going to ask the question And I pains me to say it
Starting point is 01:08:14 We're going to talk about Clint's holiday again I feel like we've spoken about it inaudium How much did he pay for a coffee? Have a guess now, place your bets 3343, Texas What do you reckon I would have paid for a coffee? What's that outrageous amount of money to pay for a coffee in 2026? $300.
Starting point is 01:08:30 Don't do that thing I do to you where I ruin your stories by guessing too high. You know I hate that. One million dollars. A little less. Get your Clint McGinn, Dan Fax. There is a cafe in Christchurch, Rook Cafe, that is going to be offering coffee for $99 and $99. The beans come from Panama.
Starting point is 01:08:49 I hear it's tricky to get through the canal. Maybe that's it. I don't think it is. I think it was for a while. Right. But hey, as well, it's not, there's no milk involved, I don't think, either. It's just like espresso shot of these geisha beans. I suppose it's like when you see those people in clubs and they go and buy a bottle of gray goose and the fireworks are coming out the top of it and they spend $2,000 on a bottle.
Starting point is 01:09:09 It's a status thing, I guess. I'm tempted to try it. See? Because you want to see what the big deal is. Now, the reason why I think this is outrageous for me is because I was just at Starbucks. I just went to Starbucks and I wanted to get a caramel frappuccino. I wanted the small because I was just like, no, don't need it. So Frappuccino's the cold coffee, eh?
Starting point is 01:09:29 It's got like cream and like whipped cream and stuff in it. Yeah, and it's kind of like blended up. It's caramel frappuccino. Love it. But I found out that the caramel frappuccino doesn't come with coffee. It's just like a kid's. drink and I said oh why can I put a double shot of espresso in there because I don't want a coffee sure that was extra then when you go to pay it has 18 or 20% tip I was like I thought 5 or 10 would
Starting point is 01:09:54 have been fine all you're doing is putting the coffee in the cup and giving it to me you're not delivering it to the beach I don't understand the like fast food tipping and stuff yeah because it's not like they're going above and beyond for you I get tipping like a waiter or someone that's giving you proper customer service because then you know they're going above and beyond for the tip. A person behind the counter's not doing that. Yeah, like, if you're just pouring the pint and putting it in a glass in hand and getting it to me, I'm unsure why I need another 20%. You'd be doing that anyway.
Starting point is 01:10:17 Yeah. Like, I could go around and do it myself if it's going to save you some money. Anyway, you pay the $3 tip, I think it was, which was actually less than the 20%. But anyway. And then the exchange rate, the New Zealand dollar is not great at the moment. And then I think you might get charged a banking fee or something, maybe when you swipe your card over there. So my small caramel frapper with an espresso shot came to $27.62. My God.
Starting point is 01:10:46 I was like, it's a $30 coffee. $30 and you got the small. Yeah, and the small one. The small venti and then grande or whatever. Or grande and then the venti. Imagine how much Megs would have been if she orders. Have you ever seen who order a Starbucks? She gets the pumpkin frappy with like whipped creams, sprinkles.
Starting point is 01:11:01 Some sort of cold foam, whatever that is? She asks for the person to dribble a little bit on top of it. Like every option she gets. Oh, I was, yeah, after that, when the kid's like, can I have one? I was like, no, Dan, going forward one for you as well. You can have a sip of mine. You're not supposed to give kids coffee, but at that price, mate, we're sharing one. I love how you went on a free trip to a Disney resort in Hawaii,
Starting point is 01:11:22 and you're complaining about how you had to pay for a coffee. Irony is not lost on it. Hey, I'd love to know. Give us call. You'll never guess what I paid for a lot. And it might be because you paid a crazy amount of money. And looking back, you're like, I don't know what I was thinking. Or maybe you've got a crazy deal.
Starting point is 01:11:38 on something that you go around telling everybody about because you're so impressed with the savings that you made. This is fun. So it could be good or bad. So you call us, tell us the thing you pay you got and then we'll guess how much you paid for it. We're going to play like the price is right. And we'll see you can get the closest. So you'll never get what I paid for a while.
Starting point is 01:11:55 You'll give me something. Okay. I'll never guess what I paid for two pinnacaladas with floats. One million dollars. No, you're ruining the game. It's always a real power move To just go away about what someone's trying to tell a story for It just ruins their app
Starting point is 01:12:16 I actually do love it It's such a power player I just don't like when it's been done to me Because then they end up going No it was only 60 Oh that's quite cheap Alright You'll never guess what you paid for a while
Starting point is 01:12:25 Clint Meg and Dan Edge Breakfast The Edge What is the thing you bought That you think will never guess the price of Whether it's outrageously expensive or cheap And we'll see how we go This is after Clint Randall
Starting point is 01:12:36 Went on a free trip to Hawaii To a Disney resort and is complaining about a $27 Frappuccino that he paid for over there. Yeah, over at Starbucks. Almost 30 bucks for a small caramel frappuccino is crazy, man. So you just give us a call, yeah. Tell us the item and then we'll guess how much you paid for it.
Starting point is 01:12:53 Let's go to... Should we go to... Oh no, let's talk to Brady first, our producer. Okay, what do you got, mate? So I ordered a large zinger box off DoorDash and I want you guys to guess how much you think I paid for that. I'll have nothing bad said about DoorDash, mainly because I'm doing some work with them soon.
Starting point is 01:13:06 Oh, here we go. Must be nice. It was competitively cheap for the delivery. Some of us work with Disney, some of us work with DoorDash. DoorDash isn't sending me to Hawaii, unfortunately. Okay, let me... No, I reckon you would have complained about it, and they would have refunded your entire meal,
Starting point is 01:13:20 and it cost you nothing. Not quite. It was a dollar. Wow. How? So I signed up, like, with a dash pass, and then there was like three promo codes, and they all stacked, and I got it for a dollar. Oh, okay, now this is just sounding like you to have worked out some sponsored mention.
Starting point is 01:13:34 Thanks for me. Thanks for that. Cheers, Danny. Yeah, that's really nice. Let's go to Paula. Oh no, I don't do the edge. Morning, Paula. Now, you tell us the item that you purchased, first of all.
Starting point is 01:13:44 That's me? Yeah, that's you. Yeah. I purchased a green tea latte. A green tea latte. The most boring drink to purchase at any cafe. Green tea latte. I personally don't think you should be paying anything for a green tea latte.
Starting point is 01:13:59 That's essentially water with a bit of leaf. Okay. If I had a proper guess and you're calling because you were outraged by the price, I'm going to say $12. Oh, I'm going to go more. Can you tell us exactly where and where you were when you purchased it? Yeah, it was the... I'm pretty sure it was called Impresa Cafe. They've actually closed down now, but, yeah, we're in Hamilton.
Starting point is 01:14:21 Okay, in Hamilton. Or maybe they were selling them too cheap. And they had to close their doors. I'm going to say it was, what did you say, $12? I'm going to assume she's calling for a... It was exorbitantly priced. I'm going to say $27. Yeah, it was more than that.
Starting point is 01:14:35 What? Okay, how much was it? It was $55 What? What? Why? Well, I got home I took it I went about my day
Starting point is 01:14:48 I got home And I think it was like The following day or the day after I just happened to look at my bank statement And I saw that I was charged $55 Oh my God Because I just I just you know pay waves
Starting point is 01:15:02 And didn't look at the empty plus amount Damn Well you're from now on You'll be one of those people With chicks out of every time Because it's just water and te was the water like holy water or something like what the hell that's crazy thank you
Starting point is 01:15:13 paula let's go to Aaron on oh 800 of the edge now Aaron this was a flight from Wellington to Auckland yeah Auckland to Wellington okay and it says during COVID so I'm guessing it was more expensive than usual because the flights weren't
Starting point is 01:15:28 I don't want to cut your lunch I want to have a proper guess one way Auckland to Wellington $650 no I return 800 Yeah. I reckon it's in the thousands. Because he wouldn't be calling if it was...
Starting point is 01:15:42 I reckon we're going to go. 1,800 bucks return. No, no. It was... It was 650 return. Good one, Dan. No one's spending that much money you've got to Wellington and back?
Starting point is 01:15:58 Yeah. That is still ludicrous, though, isn't it? Kidding. Yeah, I mean, you shouldn't have really been travelling during COVID. Thanks, sir. He might have an exemption. He's dropped himself in it there. All right.
Starting point is 01:16:07 And let's finish with Shinar. Morning Shanara. Good morning. Okay, the price is right. We'll never guess how much you paid for what? My power bill. Like a month? Just one month, yeah.
Starting point is 01:16:20 Okay. Well, I don't even know how much my power bill is because my wife pays them. Yeah, it must be nice. I think it's like a hundred and something, 200 bucks. No way. My power bill's like five or six hundred bucks. Yeah, but you have a pool in a spa pool and two Teslers.
Starting point is 01:16:32 You have a hundred and fifty is crazy for a house of three with a nanny. And electric gate. I'm going to go. I'm going to go. 2000. I reckon it would be crazy. I'm going to go 3,000 then. Just beat Clint.
Starting point is 01:16:47 Shaniari, how much was the power bill? This is from December to January. It was my first power. I just moved house and they charged me $55,000. Oh, my God. No, I just moved countries. Move countries. I did not pay it.
Starting point is 01:17:02 And then it went to like the other extreme and they charged me $45. dollars. You're like, yeah, still, though. You're sequed out. So what did you have plugged in? Like, what was taking all the juice? Oh, I was just paying for the whole neighbourhood, apparently. Wow.
Starting point is 01:17:18 They've gone and sent you everyone's bill. It's a clerical era, surely. That's unbelievable. That's crazy. God, if I went home and our bill was $55,000, Hannah would be like, what have you been doing? What have you got plugged in? You've been in big trouble.
Starting point is 01:17:33 Nightmare. Next on the show. Edge Breakfast with Clint Meg and Dan. We have a spiritual. cleanser who's going to join us after finding out that Dan's two-year-old sees a lady called Natalie who, as far as Dan knows,
Starting point is 01:17:46 doesn't exist and thinks might be some sort of either ghost or invisible I'm hoping it's an imaginary friend but a lot of people on a text machine are saying you need to get your house cleansed, you need to burn it down. We have somebody well no because you rents, so don't do that. Yeah and that's I think
Starting point is 01:18:01 considered arson. Yeah. And even I think saying a ghost, it's not really a thing. Listen live weekdays from sex on Rover and catch up wherever. This is Clint, Megan Dan. The Edge. You may have heard Dan talk about the fact that there is a lady called Natalie hanging out in his house according to his two-year-old son, George.
Starting point is 01:18:19 Yes, and she's my mistress. Don't tell my wife. Well, the whole ghost thing would be a great cover. I'm just saying if, you know, your son happened to meet. Now, I've talked about it quite a bit over the last few days. My son, he lives, he's got his own room. He's in his own big boy bed now. And he's just started talking about Natalie,
Starting point is 01:18:36 who I hope and I assume is just his imaginary friend. She lives in the closet and we chatted about it a couple of days ago. This was him talking about it. Have you seen a girl in the cupboard lately? I've talked to yesterday. And what was she wearing yesterday? Was she wearing the same thing? Yeah.
Starting point is 01:18:54 Does she ever talk to you, the girl? He talks to me in night, sometimes. Okay. And does she always come out of the cupboard? Does she come from other places? Well, thank you. She's going to lose. On the roof of the house
Starting point is 01:19:08 On the outside or the inside Inside of the house She's sitting on the roof on the inside of the house So she floats Have you ever seen the grudge I think she does that She's like hanging out in the corner of the ceiling It's very scary
Starting point is 01:19:22 But I don't think that's actually what's happening Well Kimberly Is a spiritual cleanser It does it for free As like a community service Goes around and gets rid of ghosts from people's houses Morning Kimberly Good morning how are you
Starting point is 01:19:36 Yeah, good. So are you like that lady from the conjuring, you know, that goes around and that sort of person? Yeah. So I go around and I help people who feel they've got really heavy energy or spirits or goats in their homes and just trying to give them some peace and positivity in their life. Okay. But I feel like I've got enough positivity in my life. I just wanted my son to stop talking about Natalie who hangs out on the roof. What's your hit rate in terms of getting rid of ghosts? Like if you came around to dance house, how long would a time? take? Is it a guarantee? Oh, it depends on the size of the house. So, like, it could take about upwards an hour, maybe.
Starting point is 01:20:14 And I just go around and I just, you know, use sage, salt water. Really setting the intention and giving firm boundaries. Will the sage and the salt water get into my carpets because we just had new carpets put in? It's a very little amount of
Starting point is 01:20:31 salt water. And the sage is just a bit of smoke that you're put around the house. Oh, no. Dad's on a Saturday, mate. You won't be worried about that. Hey, you know, piss off. How many ghosts have you gotten rid of, Kimberly?
Starting point is 01:20:46 Oh, I don't, oh, quite a few. I've been doing it for many, many, many years. We have had lots of different experiences ranging from people who have been smacked, pulled out of bed, scratched, all of that. And dealing with people who have just feel like they've gotten negativity in their house and it's bringing everyone down. And so clearing that out and making way for more positive change really helps. But I don't, my house is not full of negativity.
Starting point is 01:21:16 In fact, it's a very happy place. So I wonder how... And it probably is. And if your son is seeing this woman, it's the possibility that he is because kids tend to be more attuned to that vibration. And if she's absolutely positive, and she's good. There is no problem there.
Starting point is 01:21:40 However, if she is waking him up in the night to have chats with him, that's a problem because it's breaking his sleep. And sleep's really important for him. He has a future if he's got this gift. He could have a future as a ghostbuster. Yeah, he could work with old bloody Bruce Willis maybe on a sequel if I see dead people
Starting point is 01:21:56 whatever that was. Six cents. Do you have any ghosts at your place, Kimberly? Lots. In fact, my mother, because my parents live in a flight downstairs from us, She texted me this morning and she goes What were you doing awake at 4 a.m? I heard you walking around.
Starting point is 01:22:11 It was not me. I was not walking around. I was fast asleep. There was no one else in the house. But wait, if you're a spiritual cleanser, is it kind of like a builder? You know, and nothing ever gets done at a builder's house?
Starting point is 01:22:21 It is true. It is true. In fact, my partner says, I think it's time for you to cleanse your own house now. Yeah, yeah, you're too busy looking up there and everyone else. You don't have time to get rid of all the ghosts in your own. You need to do some self-cleensing.
Starting point is 01:22:31 Oh, well, thanks for your call, Kimberly. I don't know if I want you in your house if you've got like dead people following you around but luckily they don't come with you and then... Do we? We all do. Jesus, don't tell me that. Yes, we all do. Okay, so you just want the last question, when you're all walking around, like you go to the mall and stuff,
Starting point is 01:22:46 are you seeing ghosts everywhere? I don't see them so much as I feel them. Like, you know, when you feel someone standing behind you and you look and no one's there, that's the... You can just feel that energy. All right, well, let's keep you a number on file, because who knows? I mean, if Natalie starts becoming a bit of a B over the next few weeks,
Starting point is 01:23:03 then we might need to... Yeah, absolutely. Feel free to contact me. I'm happy to set some firm boundaries. Really, it's all it is. They're just people. Okay. People that need...
Starting point is 01:23:15 You're not allowed in my house. That's, you know, my space. So you've just got to set those boundaries. Well, thanks for your call, Kimberly. And no, Hayden, it's not my way of justifying that I have a mistress. Yeah, because I think this cover's gone too far. Dan's like, now I've got to keep going down.
Starting point is 01:23:29 I've got a house cleansed. Have I got a mistress? I'm not hiding her in my son's room, am I? It's 101 of Cheetah.
