This is a podcast from Rover.
Eage off your mornings with Clint Meg and Dan etch breakfast.
Good morning, it is 1 to 6 on your Friday.
Bloody Made it, your legends.
Hello.
Oh, up the was.
Up the wards.
We'll be looking to tick that one off this morning.
There are new anthems.
I've got a bit of a G up at 8 o'clock.
We've even got John Edward's psychic medium on at 8.30 to let us know about jinxes and superstitions
and whether the waz will get the job done.
Yeah, I'm sure he loves getting asked about school.
who's going to win
at sort of the lot of numbers
I'm going to ask him anyway.
Babies and scores.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He famously doesn't like choosing
between boy or girl
when you're having a baby.
Never did to me.
He always said to me
whatever I say,
it's probably the opposite.
Really?
Yeah.
This is krypton night.
Even Superman had one.
Exactly.
Yeah, yeah.
So you've got to pick it.
Yeah, yeah.
Also, very, very exciting news
that we need to share with you.
If you're a early morning listener,
you don't generally get to catch the show
after rate.
7 o'clock.
Decisions have been made behind the scenes, and the bossy we can now let you in on the secrets.
It's seven.
This is about you leaving.
Oh, big secret.
Oh, sorry, I've got the cat out of the bag too early.
Dan, you don't jump the gun, my bro.
Don't jump the gun.
It's breakfast, Clint McGinn Dan.
All right, let's do a little coffee catch up.
I've got something I want to bring to the table.
Dan will say something he would like to share, so let's get going.
I can go first.
Mine's really quickly.
I just want to shout out to the man that I met at the gym last night.
Lovely man.
He's listening to the show.
He's training for the New York.
marathon in a month or so.
Actual marathon or one of those people that
who are doing a marathon doing a half? Shame on
you. He came up to me and said
you Dan from the edge and I said
Yes I am. As I live in free as I am
You are a basket in his glove
And currently I was on the treadmill wheezing
Oh yeah so I wasn't at my best
And he said you know how I knew it was you
Oh you toe walking?
100%
Oh no I can't just I'm sorry I meant to cut out your lunch I just saw there's no way
That's what he's done.
I knew you'd guess. I knew you'd guess.
So he said, I knew that you'd move to the North Shore.
So I was like, ding.
So he was like, because the gym's on the North Shore.
He goes, I knew that you were training or doing some sort of gym work.
So I knew it's adding up now.
And then he was like, and he's toe walking.
I thought, sure, it's your first.
Locked to them.
Yeah, well, he would have thought that looks like Dan Webby from the radio station.
But these are the other clues.
And I had a cap on.
I had a cap on as well with headphones.
And then he saw the toe walk and he was like, there it is.
That's my man.
That's dad.
And we'd be first.
Is it that obvious?
Because I said to, when I got home, I was maybe really self-conscious.
Not in a bad way, but I just like, I thought I'd sort of got rid of the toe walk.
Oh, no.
Is it still a thing?
I thought he kind of got rid of it.
But maybe I'm used to it.
Yeah, maybe you are.
Hannah's like, oh God, no, you're still.
No, yeah.
But you've got great calves for it, so, you know.
And bum.
Great calf and bum.
Yeah.
You know, it's all legs.
Left in the jolly jumper too long as a kid, they say.
I don't think I was.
I think it's just the toe walking that's done it.
It's a redatory.
I've got a text from Charlene, who's his morning crew.
Just want to say thank you.
I'm currently going through breast cancer.
And honestly, listen to you guys every morning.
It's giving me something to laugh about and look forward to when I've really needed it.
You've helped me more than I know.
That's so lovely, Charlene.
Thank you.
It's so horrible that you're having to go through that.
Yeah.
Wish you weren't.
It does make me one.
It does make me wonder now if I bring this up or not.
Meg has started showing her cleavage more, I've realized.
Clint, don't get too excited too early.
It's early days.
But am I right?
I've been covering my cleavage
since I gave birth.
Your tops have been getting lower.
No, here's the thing.
I sit opposite her and I haven't noticed.
But today, there's still no cleavage
officially, but there is skin
on chest. So we're getting there, boys.
Meg's coming back.
And you know what? You know what?
She did take her undies and Brar off on the
Overthinkers podcast a couple of days ago.
She's slowly coming back from the ashes.
I didn't know there was ashes, to be honest.
What do you mean Ash London when she comes?
What's the slow cleave reveal?
What's that about?
Is that just a confidence thing after kids?
Yeah, but it's probably, it's just, you know,
finding my, it's, I found baggy t-shirts and baggy pants,
the best thing that I felt confident in after giving birth.
And now I'm like, maybe some skin is coming back out.
But I don't talk about it too much because I'll shy back.
You know what?
Is it time that she...
Talk about what?
Is it time that she fits back into the cat suit?
Remember the cat suit?
I still have that cat suit.
Oh, that was, mate, that gives me PTSD.
Oh, that's rude.
No, remember we...
She looked great in it.
That could very much.
Remember when, maybe finished,
when we were shooting one of those recreation videos for Halloween,
and in the video, I can't remember why,
but Meg, Pof, and Transforms, and Dan's wearing it.
Yeah, that's right.
We shared that cat suit.
We've shared a lot of things in love it.
Meg was in it.
Meg and everybody's going, oh, there's hot, and then,
poof, straight like that.
I don't know how you'd find that.
It was a fun video.
to make but I don't know maybe we could
find it and put it back up on our story for an hour
for the 6am club who haven't seen it
I love that video that was one of my favourite things we did it just
didn't hit for some reason right it didn't go off like
I thought it would I loved it though it had a few
hoops because we were like writing
smut right and then
it was like a make believe story
and it was Halloween themed and then we were like
that's funny imagine if that happened in real life so then
we went and filmed it so I think people who are just
watching the video going what are these guys up to it know when you
go a little bit too deep in something and you're too much
in it and you're all laughing and then we're
it to other people and they're like, huh?
Yeah.
I think that's what happens.
This is my blind spot in life, honestly.
Why is Dan in a sexy gansuit?
I'm going to stop watching this.
It's disgusting.
We've got a great list to settle this coming up next.
Oh yeah.
Okay, Dan will put that one to you next.
Hopefully you get to settle the argument going into the weekends.
Dan's looking like he's always chosen it, but you've got three minutes.
No, I have a lot of.
No, I don't want to talk about it yet because people will start.
I want instant people.
Just play a song.
Like feedback.
Yeah.
Yeah, cool.
to your favorite breakfast show whenever you like
Clint Meg and Dan
The Edge. Clint Meg and Dan on the Edge Meg you found the video
it's posted to Instagram
Yeah I'm gonna get on Instagram
I have found it and rewatched myself
Okay good fan
I'd have it very posted it
And Edge Breakfast if you haven't seen the Halloween
Men Writing Erotic Fiction Recreation video
It's Clint Meg and Dan's
Let's settle this right now
This is something that's almost ended my minute
And seriously like I think we've had
quite a lot of arguments about this in the past
And it's such a simple thing to not have to argue about.
Yeah, it is such a simple thing, Dad.
And it's the toilet seat.
Now, I will say there's a lot of women texting right now going,
yeah, you should shut, put it down, put it down.
And I do.
I would say 90% of the time for the courtesy of my wife, I put it down.
Then just put it down the other 10%.
No, but here's the thing.
Sometimes I'm in a rush because I'm looking after our son.
Sue me.
Or I'm doing other things.
I'm cooking dinner.
I'm vacuuming.
I'm doing it.
household chores, all my charity
for that. Rican up to the orphans.
Yeah. Anything like that. Sometimes on the
10% chance I'll leave it up
it's like
I've done, it's like I've cheated on it.
I understand. She'll come and she'll go
if there's one thing, just
put the toilet seat down. Just put
the toilet sit down. You do it then.
You do it. You put it up. I do it
90% of the time. What is
the movement is just a quick
pulled down. I don't see
why it is such a content.
issue. And it's clearly a contentious issue with other women.
Because lots of people are texting and angrily in caps lock.
Put it down. It's where it belongs.
Unless you're cleaning that.
Put it down. But I mean, if one's having to touch it to lift it up,
and I don't see what the issue is for someone else having to touch it to put it down.
I agree. Because I didn't have to lift it up, so I shouldn't have to touch it to put it down.
It's not our fault you can't be standing up.
But here's the thing.
Why is this, like, this is the only thing Hannah and I really argue about.
We're very compatible.
I know, and this is the only thing she has to complain about me.
I'm perfect in every other way.
I tell you why I find it really annoying.
If I go to we in the middle of the night and he's left it up, I fall into the toilet.
I've had that.
Oh, so you refuse to even touch it and put it down.
Well, I didn't, if I don't see it.
If I'm in the dark.
Yeah, okay.
Good argument.
Good argument down.
Morning, Paris.
Morning, guys.
Now you're angry.
I can hear it in your voice.
Not angry, no, but definitely.
down in my opinion.
What would you say if your partner, I don't know if you've got a partner, but if he was
putting it down 90% of the time, and on the off chance he forgets to, are you mentioning
it? Are you bringing it up or you're going, oh, it's an off?
I'm 100% bringing it up. I just think it looks so much more neater and tidy as you
walk past a bathroom or a toilet. You just see it down. Like, it just looks tacky if it's
up.
So it's a look as an aesthetic thing for you?
Yeah, I guess so.
And I also guess, like, if you're the one coming in after the toilet seats up,
you don't want to be one putting it down and touching the toilet seat after the last person.
Okay.
You've already got dirty hands from picking it up, just put it back down with your dirty hands and then washing them.
Yeah, there's Amanda.
Yes.
Up or down, up or down.
Down 100%.
Can someone please think of the men for a chance?
Like, because, you know, there's a lot of men properly missing.
You can already pee standing up, so come on.
And do you know what?
I've actually just realized, Amanda,
I don't even know why Dan's lifting the seat up.
You should be good enough now at the age of 37
that you should be able to hit a target that's pretty wide,
if I'm honest, and be able to pee through a toilet seat
that is down without getting it on the seat.
The thing is, though, Clint, quite often, I'll sit down.
To we.
Yeah, so wait, how do you see?
So why are you lifting it up there?
Just to hide from Hannah that you're sitting.
You just lift it up to be like, I definitely stand.
Yeah, man.
Yeah, I stand like a man.
Coming up with Clint Weekendan.
Scandal.
Scandal headlines are coming up.
It's actually a really big scandal day this morning.
Miley Cyrus is reflected after Jolly Pass.
Dolly, um, pardon is passing.
I'm calling you a Miley Cyrus because she just released a song this morning as Miley Cyrus.
So I don't know what she wants.
I thought she was dropping the last name.
I know, me too.
What is Millie Bow?
Bobby Brown done for a second time now at 22.
It's coming up next.
Clint McGahn's scandal.
Billy Bobby Brown has welcomed baby number two with adoption.
Alongside her husband, Jake Bon Jovi.
We won't know this baby's name or anything about them either.
I imagine she kept that secret with her first baby.
So we don't know the baby's name, which I think is really awesome.
She's really protecting the privacy of these kids.
It's crazy that I still think of her as that little kid, 11 and Stranger Things,
and it doesn't seem that long ago that that was on TV.
She seems like such an amazing young woman.
She's got adopted two kids.
She's 22.
She's adopted about 50,000 animals.
She's got a farm and she just takes in every hurt animal ever.
She's like she's got a lovely heart.
Marley Cyrus has spoken out about sending everything she would make to Dolly first and how she misses that.
Speech from the dead?
Yeah.
Talk.
No, no, no.
Talk about Dolly.
Yeah.
Okay, that clip.
Which I always did with Dolly.
And she was always right.
It's like how your mom's like always right.
and when you're a kid you're like, what does she know?
And then as you get older, you're like, everything.
How? Where did this come from?
You're just a normal person.
Why do you know everything?
It's annoying.
She put a K on the first one.
Protect you here. Get a complimentary well at blunt umbrella.
C Rodney Wayne.com.
Tis and Cesar apply.
It actually saved me this morning.
Maybe if Miley's saying it, it's cool again.
Maybe.
Just hits.
In Auckland.
Clint Megan Dan.
Yeah, no blind umbrella for you, Dan.
morning. Dan had to do the loser run through the rain while me and producer car will just kind of cruise to work.
There's no way to look cool running in wet rain. I'm trying to shout to yourself.
Brad Pitt could do it and still look like a loser.
Yeah. I think we shouted out, we run into loser.
Well, we had our blunts and just walk nice and slow.
Water off a duck's back, mate.
Oh, God, the good. Okay. Things we hate is next.
If you want to vent it and get it out before the weekend, let's get all the bad zoo-ju-out next.
This is your chance to be negative. Be a negative, Nancy, for five minutes.
Just call up and just be negative.
Take the edge off your day with Clint Meg and Dan.
It's time for things we hate.
Even though we did find out when we started this segment,
the venting is actually worse for you.
We think getting it off your chest would help.
According to science, though.
I mean, science.
I had, we were out the other night together.
Us three went, we were doing something for work.
We had to film something.
And it was right on dinner time.
So I ordered myself some delivery food.
And I paid the extra $3.
to get it priority
because to me...
Rich.
Thank you.
Yeah, like, that's a flex rather than an insult now.
Thank you.
I, yeah, I want a priority.
I wanted to get it soon.
We weren't staying for another...
How long and it was peak sort of time.
Meg Mansel does not wait for food.
I don't wait for food, Daniel.
Not when it's a salad that's going to get soggy.
Yeah.
So I order priority, $3 extra.
Lo and behold,
why is it still going to take 20 minutes to get to me?
He's on a bicycle.
Bicycles should be banned if it's priority.
Actually, actually, you should be paying $3 less.
It should be like, are you okay to get this delivered on a bike?
And if you go, yes, it deducts three bucks.
I don't care that I'm the first of the deliveries.
Yeah.
If you're on a bike, to me priority means the fastest.
I get it if it's in a CBD.
Like if you live in a central city and it's like a man on a bike and he's just doing it in the city, fine.
But if you're in a suburb and he's coming from the city and a little man comes and passes it to you.
and he's wheezing, I don't want that.
I was very much so not in the city when this was awarded.
So that's something I hate.
Somebody's texting saying, I hate seeing my exes engagement announcement.
Oh, yes.
There's a tough one.
Yeah, especially if you were still depressingly single.
And they got engaged like a year after they broke up with you.
Someone's texting saying when you get the trolley that's got the bung wheel at the supermarket,
there is nothing worse.
There really is it because sometimes you don't notice too.
around halfway through the shop.
I hate that, Dan, I hate it.
I don't know why Mark Zuckerberg hasn't fixed this.
Facebook Messenger groups or even a WhatsApp group.
I hate being added to one without my permission.
I hate that I've just been added to a group and I had no say in it,
but now if I leave it's going to tell everybody.
Yeah, yeah, you don't get a say going in,
but everybody knows when you leave.
That's not fair.
And what are the life situations do you just get automatically added to a group situation
with no say in it?
That is true.
They should take out the left, the conversation.
conversation button by now.
They're like, just, just let me just quietly go.
Hey, Meg and Dan want to invite you to this group chat.
And then I go, no.
No, thanks.
I can't imagine that, Dan, we'll get rejected every.
Yeah, and you know what?
I'll be happy about that.
I think at our workplace, I can count three.
Yeah, we've got three.
Three group chats we're involved in.
And they're all active.
Every workplace should just have one.
Yeah.
Someone else says, I hate paying more than $6 for any type of coffee.
I don't care if I'm changing the milk.
Mm.
And Nathan's...
Yes, I feel like the milk these days, milk, isn't dairy really
expensive, so why is, like, soy milk
more expensive than dairy milk?
Isn't dairy the, like, most expensive?
Anyway, let's go to Richie. Morning, Richie.
Oh, morning, team, how are we?
Yeah, good. What do you hate?
Come on, have a vent.
No, look, my thing this week has been this car payment,
right? That's been my biggest event all week.
Like, yes, I'm happy, but
I said to the mechanic. I said, look,
I'm spending a lot of money. Do you
think I could get, like, just a complimentary oil
service? Could you throw that in?
I was followed by a no, and then subtle
laughter afterwards. How much are you talking? How much was the bill for the car?
2,500. Oh yeah, you'd think that's throwing a liter of oil.
I love that you ask though, because if you don't ask, you don't get it. And sometimes you do
ask and you still don't get. But I would never. Right. I would never barter or try to,
but I mean, the people that ask generally, speaking of against the grease, I know of people,
ironically. Richie, a few people in my family that have been mechanics. And they're always
stressed, aren't they? Mechanics. They're always stressed. I'm always.
I've never met a mechanic that's happy-go-lucky.
Yeah, or shakes your hands and say, yeah, mate, that's not a problem.
Yeah, I think they just keep saying yes to the work,
but they don't necessarily have the space to keep taking the cars.
Yeah, everybody needs a car getting fixed, don't they, I guess.
Someone else is saying, I hate being fat.
Oh, Nathan.
Someone else says, I hate people that say we should catch up,
but then they never throw out a date or time to actually organize anything.
It's like one of those things that it's them just taking it off
so they can say that I tried
to, you know, they can't say
I didn't say I tried to catch up with them.
It's like a ticking off the book.
I hate going to a wedding and not getting a plus one.
Oh, yes.
Who's doing that?
Yeah.
And we'll finish on this one.
I hate getting into bed.
This is so relatable.
In fact, this has happened to me at least twice this week.
Getting into bed and then realizing you've left a light on in the hallway.
Oh, that's so good.
That's so good.
90640 with Jimmy Carr.
He shouts out to a couple of places in New Zealand.
and throws one under the bus.
Let's see if it's where you live next.
Get your Clint McGinn, Dan, Fax.
The edge.
It's time to get naughty at 640.
Yeah, I said to me and Jimmy.
Oh, you know him as Jimmy Carr,
the comedian.
We're messaging back and forth.
He said to him, oh, mate,
still got a hole for naughty 640.
And he goes, oh, I could send you something.
Oh, that's nice of him.
What a nightmare for him.
Yeah.
He sent me like two or three things,
and I went, oh, no, none of that's really going to work.
Could you give it more of like a new thing?
New Zealand like focus or flare.
Right.
Oh yeah, okay.
Sounds like Chachy Pity.
Did he put like can laughter behind it?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
He chucked all that.
Sometimes he does that.
So it feels like there's like an audience there.
Thanks for that, Jimmy.
Obviously he wasn't though.
No, no, no, it was just a voice memo.
What part of New Zealand is Jimmy Carr not a fan of?
I was in New Zealand on tour.
I got in trouble while I was in New Zealand over a joke.
I'll tell you the joke.
You can tell me what you think.
All I said was this.
I was in Napier, destroyed by an earthquake,
rebuilt, beautiful town.
I was in Christchurch, destroyed by an earthquake, rebuilt, beautiful town.
I was in Dunedin.
I said, I'll tell you what this town needs.
They went f*** unto.
Turns out I was on very shaky ground.
Now, I hate to burst your bubble there, but that is some seriously old audio.
Oh, what? I said I wanted some fresh stuff.
No, no, he's used that at least six or seven years ago.
Has he reheated some old nachos and just sent it to me?
And I think that's sad for Dunedin
Because you know what?
Dunedin is a beautiful part of the country
What's your most beautiful?
What do you think is nice?
Larnet Castle
It is nice there, I've been there
I stayed there once on our honeymoon
And I reckon it's haunted
You did a Larnet Castle for your honeymoon
Not for the whole thing
Like it was the end stop
We went all around the South Island
And one of the stops
We say one night in Larnet Castle
And I remember my wife's like quite tapped into the Juju
You know like she's a bit like
Oh this is there's something going on here
Did you have
a special night for your honeymoon?
I think so, yeah.
I think we've done it.
You've done it, Atlantic Castle.
I mean, we're on our honeymoon to be rude not to it.
They need to put that on the sign, the tourist signs when they do the tours.
I imagine Dan just walking around with some big, like, uh, like robe on and he's just wearing
like a crown.
Yeah, and he's just standing there nude on the balcony.
Were you there?
Nothing else underneath.
Yeah, it was one of the best nights of my life.
Your favorite radio show?
In podcast for.
Edge Breakfast.
Clint Megan Dan.
Cleming Godin, the boy's actually working on a,
it's a matter of faith song.
We think, yeah, rumors are going around.
Okay.
And 1-N-Z posted this to the story.
Yeah.
Oh, no, is it going to play?
Standing up, well,
catch me win up.
We don't forget where we from.
It looks like there's something going on with the Warriors and Cotter is what we're saying.
Okay.
Well, they better, they better hurry up.
I'm not saying we're going to lose Sunday,
because I guess we can play it all next week when we beat the nights.
It'd be very cool if they did.
But whilst we wait for Coteri to drop whatever it is,
they might be working on for the wires,
um,
I found this one.
What do we think of this?
Oh, is this a ice slot?
It is, but it's,
but it's pretty good.
Why?
That's reggae.
To the mount, like Mount smart.
Oh, miss his tag.
Because yeah, it would be cool if somebody,
wrote this because they were passionate
about the wars.
It's just, you know.
Yeah.
I mean, I don't understand why it's reggae.
I mean, I don't understand why it's reggae
and there's a Jamaican man singing it.
Well, because AI, I think
Jamaican voice is better than any other.
Oh, right.
AI is always like, oh, my Jamaican
version of anything's always better.
I mean, I do love a Jamaican bop.
But I don't know.
Harder to learn than the chant that we, you know, sing after our wise win.
Yeah.
I can't wait.
If there is a coda, something happening with coterie and the wise.
It'd be very excited.
I just see that they're on their story at the moment with 1NZ and stuff.
So I think something's happening, but I don't know what.
You know, back in the day with the NRL, we used to have, like, all these songs that would come out where there'd be, like, Tina Turner would do simply the best.
Yeah.
Or there'd be, like, these big, massive anthems that they'd play before the big games, yeah.
But, like, we haven't had one of those in a while.
So it'd be cool to see, like, some sort of band.
do something.
Yeah.
Otherwise, AI's got its hand up going,
I can whip something up pretty quick.
AI has his hand up for everything.
All right, well,
Sunday night, taking on the Newcastle,
Nights Lorham McGoldrick, actually, from SkySport.
Be joining us after 7 to give us some of the stats,
which I love.
All right, one more song,
while everyone else is probably playing ads,
and then we'll give you a crack at winning
a thousand bucks with easy money on EAS.
Easy money.
Time for your favorite game.
Easy money.
Good morning.
7 o'clock, a lot of people texting through saying what they need cash for.
I saw your text, Charlie.
Unfortunately, we couldn't get you on for easy money.
You got piped to the post, but they said they want a thousand bucks to get some Waz merch.
Bridges Coe, we could probably sort that out, can we?
Yeah, let's get them some.
Yeah, we can knock them up with some.
Congratulations, mate.
You've won some Wazz.
Thank you.
And it's all thanks to Posty Plus.
Make sure you get your official licensed NRL WAS merch from them before the game.
I think it's actually just Posty now.
I've been doing the same.
Oh, sorry.
I think they dropped the plus.
Yeah.
If you are at one of those people that can't afford.
necessarily an official big jersey because they are expensive, aren't they?
Like $150, you can get it as much more affordable from posting.
Yeah, and they're just as good.
Okay, Carla is playing.
What would you put your money towards?
Hey, Carla.
What are you doing with a thousand bucks?
Good morning.
Doesn't matter.
We'll get into it, eh?
Here we go.
Your letter is T.
Here we go.
Okay, you know repeated answers.
If you need to pass to it quickly and if we've got time, we'll come back.
Right, time starts at the end of Meg asking you, your first.
First question.
Give me an animal.
Tiger.
A place in New Zealand.
Topal.
Something you wear.
Top.
A movie.
Titanic.
A musical instrument.
A pass.
A colour.
Teal.
Something round.
Tate measure.
A car brand.
Toyota.
A board game.
The tour of New Zealand.
A flower.
Too late.
A musical instrument.
Oh, if you did trumpet, you would have wanted...
This is like the third or fourth time in this week that we've had someone get to that point.
Damn, man.
That was very, very good, Carla.
I didn't know about tape measure for something round.
I don't have it in my...
This way, but I have a tape measure that is around, a little plastic round thing,
and then you open it up and you let go.
Yeah, absolutely, Carla.
I would have fought for you for that one.
I mean, it doesn't matter anyway.
You were beaten by the buzzer.
Oh, you're amazing, Carla.
That would have been a contentious one, I reckon.
Wow, she has to call Blake and play again.
And Charlie, up the wires, we'll send you some Warriors merch.
Up the wires, thank you.
Yeah, well done, Charlie.
And it is obviously a big night this Sunday.
And we have got the bunker, the Jinks bunker.
If you are unlucky, there's still a few spots left if you're in Auckland.
And you're a jinks for the Warriors.
Are we able to catch up with Laura McGoldrick next?
Actually, producer Carl?
Or are we teeing her up in maybe another 1015?
It was going to be 10 and 15, but I can try and get her out now.
If you're like it.
Yeah, okay.
Well, yeah, whatever, man.
God, he's a blind jigs next Friday.
Whatever you want.
Yeah, she's from SkySport.
Of course, she's got all the stats we need to know about what our chances are of winning.
Listen live weekdays from sex on Rover and catch up wherever.
This is Clint Megyn Dan.
It's Clint Megan Dan's.
Sport Roundout with Laura McGoldrick.
Oh, wow.
Morning, Laura.
Morning, now, what's this early business?
I thought we were a set time.
And I don't run early.
I run very late.
So this is all too much for me.
Hey, we're blaming Clint on this.
He's pivoted on our run sheet.
He does that.
We don't pivot.
We don't pivot.
I'm just so excited about the wires and I just want to talk about it.
And then I say, well, let's just get Laura on.
Before we do that, though, you know, the cricket that is also happening.
There are other sports happening around rugby league on SkySport.
So if you want to get that one out of the way?
I mean, yeah, we could get that.
We can get that one out of it.
It's not summer yes, is it?
We're in spring.
So we'll mention that cricket is back.
It's back on Sky, and it kicks off in a couple of wet, well,
a woman's in like three weeks, October, New Zealand.
We're hosting India.
So they are the current World T20 champions.
They beat us in the final of the World Cup.
So a bit of revenge would be nice there.
I mean, and I think the cool thing is the fandom that comes with the Indian team coming to town.
So they have great fans to all get out and watch.
So get your tickets, come and watch.
But also watch us on Sky, because we've got cricket back.
We've got a great crew that are going to commentate for you throughout the summer.
Ian Smith is back.
Simon Dool is back.
Smitty.
Who is getting a crack.
Smitty.
Who doesn't love Smitty?
And we will be the soundtrack to your summer.
That's great stuff.
What we're talking about, though, that is happening right now is what's happening on Sunday.
And everyone's just, are we all okay about Up the Wads?
Are we okay?
Honestly.
We and Dan aren't allowed to say it because apparently we're jinxed.
Yeah, do you know what?
I have heard that, Dan.
You're not going to watch, hey?
No, I'm taking myself out of the equation.
I'm going underground.
They're actually going to a bunker with the unluckiest 13 people in New Zealand
and sacrificing themselves.
for the greater good of the nation.
Yes, thank you for your service.
We appreciate that.
Stay the hell away from it.
And we are, I mean, respectfully.
But yeah, I'm very, very, very excited slash nervous,
slash excited, excited, nervous.
I'm not sure how I'm feeling, but it's going to be great.
For those of us who are allowed to watch it.
Have you got any stats for us, Laura,
where it points that it is going to be clearly a warrior's win?
No, that's right.
But the only reason I don't have those is because, because we're not doing that.
We're just going to, you know what, they're a better team.
And at the end of that, comes out to who wants it more.
Yeah.
And what was great is I hosted the Warriors Awards there, the other night.
It was on Tuesday.
And look, I gave a lot of people some really unsolicited advice.
And I could hear myself, you know, sometimes you have those nights where you're like,
might have said too much there.
I just kept saying, if not you, then who, and if not now, then when.
So, and if people are like, okay, Laura, do you have another glass of show me?
And so that was good.
But I think I feel very, I feel very positive.
I feel very positive.
We'll just have to keep positive.
I don't know if you're nervous
or if you're going to think
a little bit harder
about what you're going to wear,
but I heard that last week's game
against the dolphins
was the highest audience
for a Warriors game on SkySport
in 15 years since the last time
we made the grand final.
How many people are watching the Waz at the moment?
I know, it's just because I put my hair in a ponytail
but it's, yeah, it's big stuff.
No, it's been huge.
And everyone loves the WAS.
Everyone, I think, genuinely loves the WAS
because they're good people,
they're good at what they do,
it's exciting, it's fun to be
part of.
And we have a great crew.
Sean Johnson does a wonderful job of explaining to us with fans.
Like I certainly find that he explains something.
I'm like, oh, is that what you doing?
All right.
Good.
Okay, great.
So, yeah, I'm hardly surprised.
It's been great to watch the Wiles this last couple of years, but particularly this
year they're on fire and it's not over yet.
It's not over yet.
Yeah, I'm so excited.
I mean, I'm so jealous for people that are going to the game this weekend.
It's going to be an incredible atmosphere.
Do you know, Laura, Dan actually got...
given what he got asked if you would like corporate box tickets and he turned them down because
he is a jinx for the nation i did it for you thank you for your service yeah i did it for you
you and your ponytail that's all i did thank you thank you so much and we we can i say my
ponytail and my on behalf of my ponytail and i we really appreciate that we really really
just don't go anywhere near john key this weekend because he will pull it oh my god this
There's half of your audience going, what is he talking about?
They're going to go and Google that now.
Well, it's not the official slogan, but get all your live sport on SkySport.
That's a great slogan.
Yeah.
You can have it.
Thanks, Laura.
Up the words.
Thank you, up the words.
Thanks, Laura.
She's the best.
Back to bed.
I think she hibernates.
She's like one of those.
Yeah, all hours.
Yeah, she just works in the morning.
And then she just works all hours all over the TV and the industry.
She's the best.
All right, yesterday, if you missed it, if you weren't listening after 8 o'clock,
maybe you're one of these people that starts your day early,
so you only catch you like a 7 o'clock club,
you would have absolutely missed the electric Ave lineup.
Surely they've seen it since.
It's been everywhere.
It's been shared, I think, quarter of a million times on our Instagram page.
But wait, we've got even more news for you next.
You've heard the announcement.
We've got another announcement with Electric Cab.
Clint McGahn.
The Edge Breakfast.
The Edge.
The announcement happened at 8 o'clock yesterday, and like Meg said, I think a quarter of a million.
New Zealanders have commented on the post since that we put up yesterday.
Yeah, I've had a lot of DMs from friends as well, and people that are not friends.
People got me.
My free tickets.
Yeah, a lot of them, because we're going to have Calvin Harris in New Zealand.
He belongs side kings of Leon.
The laser's going to be there.
Wilkinson's going to be there.
Toeblo is going to be there.
Jungle's going to be there.
It's going to eat your pick.
Yeah.
It's mine.
That was obviously the big news yesterday, but the big news is today, this time, next week, it's returning.
Between 6am and 10 a.m. and you're going to electric cab for free, baby.
That's it. Simple.
Yeah, you can also skip the queue and register on Rover for a chance to have us called you back, if you would rather that.
Yeah, because I know when we do these, people will be going, I've called 300 times and other people are like, that's nothing.
I've called a thousand times.
So if you want us to call you because you can't get through on the phone's register.
We had a post that went out like yesterday on Instagram.
It's got over 200,000 comments.
That's, I think, a record for post-eber on the edge.
It is Australasia's biggest music festival returning for it to leave in the year.
Hagley Park Christchurch February 26 and 27th.
Final GA weekend tickets, single-day passes, VIP tickets go and sell at 12 p.m.
Thursday, the 24th of September.
day before every caller wins, so you know it's going to be
a frenzy if people miss out, boys.
Because it's the day after. Get all your
ticketing, the event and giveaway details on
Rover. We will see you there.
Do you reckon it sells out by the Friday
when we give away tickets? Easy. It's going to sell it
within seconds, Clint. Within seconds on Thursday.
I think it did sell out last year and within the
day. Oh, it's going to be so fast.
They kept the line up.
Airtight, hey. No one saw this
coming. Yeah.
Incredible.
Yeah, I love that. Nobody had any sort of inkling.
It's nice to get a proper surprise again
Kings of Leon.
I mean, I can't wait to be in that crowd.
I'll be that way.
There's so much variety.
And let's not forget, producer Nipia's band as well.
The Sam Callum band, looking forward to,
although I think...
Are they playing at the same time as Calvin Harris?
I doubt it.
Okay, right.
I don't think they've got the sad.
I mean, to me...
If you're playing at the same time as Calvin...
No, no, no.
I think that'll be like earlier we're having drinks
and kind of getting ready
and then we're all going to enjoy Calvin Harris together.
Honestly, I'd love to get a crowd
to our producer Nipia's band
that would rival some of the huge names on the line.
He would just pass away.
I mean, he's stoked as it is that he even gets to play there.
We should make it our mission
to have so many people at this,
whatever stage he's on
that people just can't get close enough.
I'll tell you what, he looks good playing the bass as well.
Slaping to BS.
Yeah, he's absolutely in his element.
Okay, so Friday, every caller wins.
Send the alarm, do what you're going to do.
Wake up, Burley, improve your chances.
6am to 10 a.m.
You get on there.
We'll send you four, three.
Okay, next on the show, we'll look back at the highlights of the bean.
According to our producer Brady and also new music Friday, not far away,
Miley's dropped for you on.
Stan Walker.
Who else?
Miley, Stan Walker, we also have.
I've got one that you guys will know the name,
but I don't know if you'll recognize the voice in the way that they are singing,
so I'll get you to guess.
Okay.
Who's releasing a ballad.
Love a game.
It's coming up and sign the next 15 on the edge.
Before we get into the highlights of this week with the producers diary,
this is your last clue before next week we give away $100,000 thanks to trade me property.
I can't even fathom doing that.
100 grand.
Imagine.
Locals call this peninsula space coast.
Home to the country's only orbital rocket launch site,
Kib's touchdown for a night on this slice of coastline.
Okay, so you need to crack that clue, find that listing on TradeMe property and just add it to your watch list, and you are in the drawer.
One last time, just in case?
Absolutely, Clint.
Thank you, Megan.
Locals call this peninsula Space Coast.
Home to the country's only orbital rocket launch site, Keev's touchdown for a night on this slice of coastline.
They should get you to voice all their ads.
It's so calming the way you do it.
Do you think so?
I'd love to do more radio voicing and calming things.
You make it sound quaint.
Like if I read it, it wouldn't sound as good.
So well done.
Strap yourselves in because energy's about to shift up in here.
Giday, it's Brady and welcome back to another producer Zari.
The week started off hot with some not-so-wanted hugs.
Just anyone running towards you with a hug.
It must be an incredible feeling.
If I ran towards you with a hug, Dan, you'd be laughing.
Yeah, Jesus.
Yeah, maybe it's something we'd do after the show.
Or maybe when we go to the ad break.
Can't confirm Meg and Dan hugged during the ad break,
and Dan was jumping for joy.
And now it's time for some Clint Meg and Dan out of context
Head through the hole
She had a gone my glutes
Like went to town
I think that's my problem area
My ass
I would hate to see what hard was like
But I reckon if I had some teenage boys
Or some younger men
Taking off my underwear
Taking off my underwear
Settle down Meg
The four Chazettes had a reason to be excited
though as they took out our
Flat Idol competition earlier this week
It's Flats Idol
And the Chazette's
Why have we saved them to last?
That might be because you guys are going to R&V for free.
One absolute tune, and it's finally happened.
Another easy money winner.
Thank you for that.
Easy money.
Give us 10 answers this morning starting with the letter G.
All right, Mick's got question one.
Here we go.
Time starts at the end of the first question.
A colour.
Green.
A food.
Great.
A sport.
Goal.
A drink.
Path.
A part of a house.

But next week I'm sure
We'll be back to the easy money
Blunders
Dan's found his new
Go-to meal
For when his fridge is looking bleak
I didn't have lunch yesterday
And so I was like
I can treat myself
Because I've had nothing to eat
Since breakfast
So I crushed some
super wines with cream and and ate it oh much shit soggy biscuits you're 18 soggy biscuits
all right that's enough of that and then meg thought it'd be a good idea to challenge dan into
doing a barack obama impersonation can you do a barak accent dan you're pretty good not so no no no i've
tried no okay it sounds like kermut and homer had like a baby it's really specific i can hear it
in my head barrake obama barracobama grumithia frog that wasn't bad his is better than you
yours. I'm Brock.
Pretty good. And Meg's on the hunt
for some new bridesmaids, even though she's happily
married. If I was to get married
today, you might be one of my bridesmen.
You look so... That's both flattering
and insult. Pretty in a dress.
Oh, bridesmen, not maids,
okay. Dan's been trying out some sign-offs
at the end of the show every day.
So I thought I'd throw them in here just towards
the end of the diary. But there was
only three. I couldn't find four. He's not very
consistent with her. Here you go.
All right, that's us. You're on your own now.
It's been a great time being in your air holes today.
The pleasure has been all mine. See you tomorrow.
Thanks for listening to us. Stay classy, San Diego. See you tomorrow.
On that note, we'll wrap up the producer's diary.
Have a good weekend, you bloody legends. We'll catch you back on Monday and Up the Waz.
Up the was. Thank you, producer Brady. Do you want to thank producer Brady and your Barack Obama accent me?
More impression?
Yeah, I'm, do you know, I'm really proud of that.
go.
Are you?
Thank you, Britain.
No.
The fact that you're proud of that
says a lot about you.
It's gone.
It's gone.
Wait, I need to get him again.
No, don't bother.
Thank you, thank.
No.
I'm Barack.
All right.
I blame you for that because you brought it back.
You know what?
I was giving her a chance to show everyone how she could do a backflip,
but there is always the chance you could land on your head and snap your neck.
And that's what's happened.
I'm Barack Obama.
She's still going.
Coming up on the each breakfast.
We have scandal coming up.
Dolly Pardon is coming to us from Beyond the Grave.
She filmed something before passing.
It was like Tupac when he dropped like a whole album or two albums after he died.
And Travis Kelsey had to correct his nieces on how to address his new wife.
It's coming up.
Dolly Pardon gave us a message Beyond the Grave for I believe the country awards.
She must have either known that she wasn't possibly going to be up to going.
I don't know if she knew she would not be able to be there at all, but I missed that she recorded beforehand.
Well, hey, it's Dolly, and I am so honored to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Americana Music Association.
Called Americana Music, it's what I grew up playing back in the Smoky Mountains.
It's that same music that drew me back to East Tennessee to write and record my album, Hungry again.
She's got such an iconic voice, how you know exactly who it is, right?
when she talks.
Yeah, it's amazing.
Amazing to hear her again.
And Travis Kelsey and Jason Kelsey, the brothers,
were talking about how they had to correct Jason's daughters.
So Travis's nieces, when ever Taylor Swift came around.
When they got to meet Aunt Tate, they were calling her a Taylor Swift.
Taylor Swift, can I have to do this?
Taylor Swift?
I'd probably do the same.
So they had to, like, be like, no, she's your auntie.
So just Aunt Taylor.
Auntie Tay.
They keep calling her Taylor Swift.
It's in Auckland.
Edge.
The edge.

T's and C's apply.
I saw that Taylor Swift and Tom Cruise were getting very close at one of the Chiefs games a couple of days ago.
Having a very deep and meaningful conversation it looked like.
Okay.
I wonder what they'd be chat.
Maybe Scientology.
No, I was going to say, didn't she just do a little acting thing earlier like this week?
so maybe he's wanting to see if she'd like to explore that more.
Maybe she's a mission impossible.
He could be trying to get into music.
Please don't, Tom.
I hope it's Taylor getting into acting.
Get your Clint McGinn-Dand-Dan fix.
Clint McGeech.
My wife is perfect except for one thing, which is why nobody is perfect.
My wife does not like to unpack a suitcase,
and because she has ADHD tendencies,
she always finds other things to do.
In fact, I send her a text after it had been, what,
Two weeks.
Which, yeah, my guess, it's not long.
So you got back from the airport, she's just left it there.
Yeah, and we all unpacked our bags.
She doesn't.
Where is it in your bedroom?
Just on the right-hand side, you can definitely tell which side of the bedroom we both sleep on.
You draw a line down the middle and you go, whoa.
Somebody's got ADHD and somebody doesn't.
So I text my wife and I said, look, I know you don't like me telling you to do things that you know need to be done.
But could you please set aside some time to clean up your side of the bedroom?
Please, darling.
It makes closing the curtains rather difficult.
But I love you.
And I'll see you when you get home.
Now, see, that reads like someone that's been burned in the past by being two-pass ag.
Yeah, I am.
And she's bit back harder.
Yeah.
And so, actually, you know, full disclosure, my wife did tidy up.
And she said that she felt way better that it was done.
But then she's in the kitchen.
She's like, I still feel really stressed and anxious, having to have made all of those decisions about where everything went.
And I'm feeling really tense.
So I gave her hard.
I'm going to put my hand on her chest.
And I said, all right.
And I appreciate what you've done.
And she'd like burst into tears.
She was like, it was like, this really.
intense feelings to just unpack the suitcase.
Maybe it's deeper than I realized.
I'm team Jamie on this because you guys travel so often.
I'm kind of like,
she's just leaving it for the next one.
It's only a couple of weeks away.
You know?
Yeah, so it's all down now and it's great.
And the room's all nice and tidy.
So, you know, tidy, tidy, tidy room, tidy mind.
Humans are complex, aren't we not?
Somebody messaged me who says that they are going to Fiji tomorrow.
It's been a year today that they got back from Fiji last time.
and the only thing they took out of their bag
with the dirty clothes
everything I stayed in the suitcase
they're going to Fiji tomorrow
they don't even need to pack
because the unpacked suitcase
still exists from when they went to Fiji
this exact time last year
That's crazy
I'm still looking for the Cinderella
So if you are listening
I wait under the edge
You're not answering your phone
because I got a number to get you on the show
but you're not picking up
Because their phone's in the bag
It's already packed up
Unbelievable
I've got ADHD
ADHD and I think I'm quite high in the spectrum
But I would still
empty my bag after coming back from holiday.
I don't have enough clothes,
apart from anything else.
That's probably more, Ed.
You've got your two Nashies.
Yes.
To be fair, they could stay in the bag.
Nashy is, by the way,
a not a rashie. It's like a dress shirt that you can get wet
that dries super quick. Yeah, you've got your
fedores, your two peers of
camo cargo pants. It's like you packed it
for me.
Okay, I'd love to know what the record is
for the longest time that your suitcase has gone
unpacked.
What's your?
your record. Is a year the most? Can anybody beat that? I don't think anybody's even getting
close to beating a year. You need to take a good look at your life if you've kept a suitcase
after a year. Yeah and it's just being sitting there because imagine when you go back to it,
when you be like, oh my God, I remember the stop. I just feel like it means that there's overconsumption
somewhere because if you didn't need the things they were in there, you obviously didn't need them.
Yeah, exactly, exactly. Because I always pack my nicest clothes when I go on a holiday, because I want
look good on holiday.
Although if it's Fiji stuff and it's winter.
Yeah, maybe.
200 The Edge.
Clint McGinn, Dan.
Edge Breakfast.
The Edge.
Do you know what as well?
This could actually win you cash next week.
Mr. Mussel cleaning confessional.
We're doing it all week.
And if you can confess your most outrageous
or downright lazy excuse
for putting off tidying or cleaning,
you win 500 bucks a day.
We've got two and a half grand to go away next week.
This, in my opinion, is peak lazy.
Coming back from a holiday
and not unpacking your bag for a,
over a year.
Are you the tight, both of you, to when you arrive at your hotel, you unpack that straight
away.
I never was.
I became that woman because of my husband, and now I love it.
I get there and you unpack.
I put my things in the little wardrobe with the hangers.
I put fine drawers.
It depends how long you're staying in the hotel.
If it's a week.
I'm never a night and I'll do it.
Oh, no way.
I'm living out of the bag if it's a night, even two nights.
No way.
What a waste of time?
Why are you so busy?
What are you doing?
I want to get into the pool.
I'm not unpacking my bag.
Okay, I think the longest my wife's bag's gone unpacked and people got very angry about when I started shaming her on social media was about three months.
Eventually she did it.
There's people that can beat that by far.
All right.
Laura.
Morning, Laura.
Good morning.
So you came back from a holiday.
You came back from a holiday.
How long was it before you unpacked?
I was actually just over a year.
And, yeah, I got back from the holiday and we have a walk-in wardrobe and usually I have a walk-in wardrobe.
and usually I put it in there,
but I couldn't be bothered dealing with it.
It was night, so I threw it in the garage.
And...
Why did you do it?
Yeah, a year later.
What prompted you to do it then?
I bought my boyfriend at the time, a dart board,
and then we put it up in the garage,
and then I was like, oh, there's my suitcase.
Oh, my God, Lord.
You opened it and were like, oh, my God, that's my bikini.
Oh, that's my shirt.
Oh, actually, because we were away for car racing,
so we were only gone for five.
days on the trip. I only took
my little, the little suitcase, not
the big one. So it didn't have
like too much like stuff that
would smell really bad, like swimming
togs or anything like that. Thank God.
But it was awesome finding things like my
favorite jersey that I think of that I owned
and stuff like that.
Time to go to the doctor and get medicated, I reckon.
Have you been diagnosed with that ADHD out of interest,
Laura? No, but I did
have a conversation last week with someone
about it, to be honest.
Surprise, Laura.
That should be part of the test.
How long are you leaving a suitcase somehow?
Thanks, Laura.
Alia can beat that.
Alia?
Hello.
Good morning.
Okay, what was the bag?
And how long did it go unpacked?
It was my hospital bag after giving birth.
It's been still left untouched for about two years now.
Yeah, right.
Having looked at it, don't eat anything from it.
Are you planning on having another baby?
Because just keep it ready.
It's like a grab bag.
Yeah, like at some point, sure.
If I need it, it's ready.
I'm ready to go, but I haven't touched anything.
And it's got like a robe and like really cute sleepwear and all the like birth coping mechanisms,
like the laser comb.
Oh, the comb, the stuff.
But I didn't need any of that.
I didn't even see it if I didn't touch it.
I'm sort of not judging on that because it's not like you've got all your holiday clothes in at your bikini stuff.
It's just.
And it's not like she came home nice and relaxed.
Yeah.
You know, it's time to put it away.
Yeah.
It's very specific stuff.
You're right with that.
And Josh blames his ADHD as well.
Morning, Josh.
How long's the suitcase going unpacked?
Oh, I've got a pretty shocking one, mate.
We meet myself and my now fiancé went to Queenstown for a trip just before she gave first.
First man, I left the suitcase packed for three years.
It's a record.
Well, so you had a baby, and now your kid's like in kindi and it's still unpacked.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
She's in the booster seat behind me.
You know what, Josh?
You know what, Josh?
this is getting into time capsule territory
you're like oh my god that was fashionable back then
you know I reckon leave it now
all right well you Josh and others like you

Easy money.
One letter.
10 k degrees and just 30 seconds.
Let's play.
Easy money.
Two buyer states.
Don't do it.
Carla did.
She had a bloody good showing, but she came this close to winning a thousand bucks an hour ago.
A color.
Teal.
Something round.
Tate measure.
A car brand.
Toyota.
A board game.
The 12 of New Zealand.
A flower.
Tula.
A musical instrument.
Oh, if you said, drop it, you would have won $1,000.
Yeah, she passed on the musical instrument and hits go back to him.
That was where the time cut out.
We would have had a perfect 10, unfortunately.
Will is playing this morning.
He's a first-time caller, boys.
Hey, good-day, Will.
First-time caller.
And you know what?
He's doing a lovely thing, Will.
If you win the thousand bucks, you take your wife and kids out for a lovely night.
100%.
100%.
Okay, well, we're reading for you.
Your letter is you this morning.
Okay. If you need to pass to it quickly, if we've got time, we'll come back.
You just can't give us the same answer twice, a thousand bucks going into your bank account.
If you can give us ten answers in 30 seconds, here we go.
Good luck.
Give me a brand.
An-alama.
An education institute.
University of a target.
Something you hold.
Umbrella.
A sport.
Pass.
A four-letter word.
Uber.
A job.
A mode of transport.
Oh, gosh.
Time, Will.
You was incredibly hard.
We had for sport, UFC, or Ultimate Frisbee.
That's bloody hard.
And then a job, umpire or ultrasound technician, undertaker, underwear model.
But those are all very niche.
You got a hard letter.
Yeah, you was a hard one.
So, well done.
I think you did.
In the circumstances, fairly well, Will.
Oh, thanks for that.
Thanks, Lord.
The defeat in the voise after an easy money loss.
be able to ring his wife and say I'm going to take you out.
That would have been really cool.
Yeah.
Or unicycle.
Oh, I'll do it again Monday.
7 a.m.
Back again.
Yeah, another chance to win a thousand bucks.
Up next, guys, big bloody game on Sunday.
You won't be watching because you are both jinxes.
And so we need you underground in the Archie Brothers bunker.
Sacrificing yourselves for the greater good of New Zealand.
And in fact, there's a couple more spots if you want to get on that squad.
If you're unlucky, give us a call 0-800-the-edge.
And you're in Auckland can be there Sunday.
Anyone who is watching, though, or thinking about watching?
I've got a mad G up for you next.
Get your Clint McGinn, Dan Fax.
Is there a bigger expectation on anyone outside of the Warriors 13 on Sunday night against the Newcastle nights?
It's a huge game.
Massive game. It's do or die. It is elimination.
Sky Sports said that last week's game was the most watched by Warriors fans since the last time we made the grand final in 2011.
I'm a jinx. I watched it for two minutes during half time.
they ended up losing after half time.
So I'm taking myself completely out of it.
Me, you're joining me in the Jinks bunker.
Archie Brothers this Sunday.
If you want to be on that list of you're a little bit of an unlucky person, you're a jinx.
Oh, 800 of the edge, there's still two spots available.
Unfortunately, I think when we hear this hype real,
no one's going to want to be in the bunker.
For over 30 years, we've turned up.
Through the good, through the heartbreak.
But through it all, we've never surrendered.
And now in 2026, something feels different.
Because this team hasn't been given anything.
They've earned every metre, every win, every scar.
This is bigger than one team.
It's every kid who has ever pulled on a Warriors jersey.
Every supporter who kept believing,
every player who laid it on the line.
30 years led us here.
This jersey carries a history.
Now this team gets to write them a lot.
channel.
No surrender. No surrender. No retreat.
No surrender, no retreat.
People say, yeah, we lost last week though.
And because we finished top four, we got a life.
We're still in it. Do you know, six teams have lost in week one and gone on to win the whole thing.
The Broncos are 98. The storm in 99.
Dogs in 2004. The Broncos in 2006.
The Cowboys did in 2015 and the Panthers did in 2021.
Now it's our turn.
It's going to do it.
It's going to be an amazing...
If you're going along to the game, I'm so jealous.
Obviously, I'll be in the bunker.
Do I'm taking one for the team.
Meg, you'll be with me.
I'll be...
I don't know how I've been dragged into this,
but yeah, I'm there too with your boy.
Do you know, the Warriors are the only team left in the comp
who have beaten the reigning champs the Panthers this year.
The Knights haven't won in New Zealand since 2019.
It's been seven years since they've beaten us.
Now is not the time.
The Juars, yes, are only one from six in Eden Park.
But the last time we played there,
we won putting on more than 50 points on the Raiders.
The only other time we've played the Knights in a final was in 2023
and we pumped them 40 to 10.
This is good.
Well, we've got some of this call through Georgia.
I don't know out of the edge from Papakuta.
Georgia, you consider yourself very unlucky
and you're wanting to take yourself out of the.
risk and join us in the Jinks bunker at Archie Brothers on Sunday during the game.
Yes, I believe me and my partner are so unlucky.
Any time we try and buy something nice or bougie, it goes really horrible.
Yesterday, he tried to buy himself, treat himself to some new sunglasses from Mason Margella.
And he had them for less than an hour and they came off his face on the way home and he ran
over them.
And now he just can't be trusted to buy anything.
and I don't want to ever go shopping.
Okay, so it's nothing to do with the Warriors,
but you're very unlucky.
You're in the bunker Sunday.
See you there.
Thank you for your sacrifice.
Thank you. Thank you.
Okay.
Meg's hung up on it.
She's heard enough.
I thought she said three thank you.
I thought that was all the thank yous.
No, Georgia always does four thank you.
We know that.
It's always a woman as well.
She doesn't want too many women on the show.
No, no.
Meg wants to be the only female boys.
She's like enough.
All right, well up the ones.
Six o'clock, Sunday night.
Thank you for your service if you are in the bunker at Aichi Brothers.
Otherwise, New Zealand, let's get them behind the waz and send ourselves to a semi-final.
I don't want to say up the waz, but I'm going to do it.
Ready?
No, you can't.
No?
No!
The edge is the home.
Of Clint McIntyne.
The edge.
Right now, this is an idea that's been sort of thrown around for the last week.
And we go, ah, bugger, it's Friday.
Should we just do it?
Well, the thing is, it's someone flexing.
You may, you listen to the air.
ads quite often on the radio.
And there's one that peaked our attention.
They pay our wages, so we appreciate you sitting through those.
Yes, thank you, thank you, the ads.
But this one did prick our ears up, didn't it?
It is, you're right.
It is a weird flex.
Hi, I'm Dr. Eileen from Tant Health.
And yes, I really am Dame Valerie Adams GP.
Now, famous people still need to go to the doctor.
And you know what?
It is a flex.
I mean, she's a Dame.
She's one of New Zealand's biggest.
sports in terms of sporting.
She has done so many things for New Zealand.
It's colourful Olympians, yeah?
Yes.
I don't know if I'd be too stoked about it if I was Dame Valerie Adams.
If she's going, I'm Dame Valerie Adams' GP.
I guess you don't.
I mean, she must know.
It's one hell of a flex.
She's like leveraging the name.
It's one hell of a flex.
Maybe it's just because you don't have like a famous person that goes to your mechanic
or your dentist.
Have you all like that lady that you just said?
Play her again. Give her another play.
Hi, I'm Dr. Eileen from Tent Health, and yes, I really am Dame Valerie Adams GP.
Like if everyone's going, is that...
Hold on. Is that name Valerie Adams GP?
Yes, she words it like, and yes, the rumours are true.
I am. I'm going to say it.
Well, I mean, you guys know.
You guys know. I might have mentioned on the show before that
Ed Sharon goes to my dentist.
That it isn't aged well.
I reckon even they're taking us...
down.
Yeah, when you walk in, it literally has all the dentists and Ed Sharon's in the middle.
I think he was here for a tour, needed a dentist.
Yes.
And then they recommended the one that I go to, and so he's there in the frame.
And, yeah, so, yes.
So that's your claim to fame.
I am the guy who goes to the same dentist as Ed Sharon.
I think even that dentist has pulled out of his tour.
Oh, stop. Stop.
Produce Carl.
I don't think I've told you guys this, but big news.
I go to the same gym as Anikamoa.
Shut up, yeah.
Actually, Chris Mack from 660
goes to mine, and I saw him just two days ago.
20 minute workout.
Lazy.
But no, does he need it?
Because he's already pretty cut.
I don't know, maybe.
But he did 20 minutes and left, and I was like,
there must be an emergency, mate.
I won't comment on Anika's workouts.
Okay.
Good on, yeah.
That's really good self-control there, come.
I've got a little humble brag as well.
I was at the supermarket the other day.
Yes.
And I was shopping at the same supermarket as Wendy Petrie.
from the news.
Oh.
Which one is she?
She's Wendy Petrie, the mother of the, you know, she's always on the news.
In fact, I don't know if she still is, but she's...
Oh, Wendy.
Yeah, Wendy.
Of course, Wendy.
Wendy, Wendy.
I go.
I know Wendy.
Do you think there's anything in this which celebrity uses the same GP dentist or mechanic
supermarket as you?
I mean, the bigger the better.
We want, like, I mean, if we can get another Ed Sherin.
That'd be great.
Celebrities need to do normal everyday stuff like the rest.
And we've had a lot of celebrities here recently.
We've obviously got The Love My Life,
apart from my husband and my kids.
So Ian McCallin, Gandalf, he's been around the...
You're the biggest fan of his, eh?
Yes.
Sidney was here recently as well.
Yeah, she was. You could have been in the same
cafe as her, I guess, or Jim or something.
Benedict Cumberbatch or whatever's name is.
Benedict Cumberbatch.
He's been here.
The talk show host, what's his name?
He was here recently.
Oh, yes. Stephen Colbert was just here.
We have some big celebrities here.
Okay.
Which celebrity is?
This is the same fill that blank as you.
Maybe same toilet cubicle.
You know, they got a do wheeze.
Maybe you had to sit down and it was warm after.
Even celebrities do wheeze.
Maybe you had a warm Oprah seat.
It's breakfast, Clint McGinn Dan.
We have heard this ad playing for the last couple of weeks and we thought,
there might be something in this.
Valerie Adams' GP has a bit of a flex and lets you know that if you were wondering if it was her,
it is her.
Hi, I'm Dr. Eileen from Tand Health.
And yes, I really am Dame Valerie Adams GP.
I'd heard the rumors, but now she's confirmed.
Yeah, thanks, Elaine.
Well, celebrities have to, New Zealand or international.
They still have to do normal things like the rest of us.
Ed Shearing, yes, when he was on tour here, used the same dentist as mine.
I know because they framed a photo with him.
Do you think they've taken that photo down now?
No.
No, I'll still be up there.
He'll make you come back.
They do have to do everyday things.
This text from a girl said, I sat in a toilet cubicle next to Helen Clark, ex-prime minister,
and hurt her pitter-patter.
Isn't that lovely?
Wow.
I mean, I don't know if she'd love that.
I mean, I guess she...
What an interesting claim to fame?
You go in there and you see her go again.
I'd go as far away as I could from her cubicle.
What about this?
I use the same vet clinic as Lisa Carrington.
She owns a cavudal named Collie.
Oh, okay.
That's nice to know.
Somebody said there's a Gandalf look-a-like
that's always at the Auckland Boxing Association.
I don't know if that is a claim to fame.
It's a look-alike.
It's just an old guy then.
It's like this one.
Someone said I cued up at subway behind Fergie from the Black IPs.
Oh, is 80% sure it was.
That's not high.
I don't know if this is another one where they think it's in,
but I don't feel like he fits the mold.
I have the same bubble tea cafe as Dave Dobbin.
Oh, God.
That's a stretch.
He's not a bubble tea guy, is he?
I don't.
I can never imagine Dave Dobbin drinking a bubble tea.
Next time we're going to have to ask him
and get that person on, because you might just be doing a weird flex to get a shout-out.
Knowing Dave, I reckon he went and think it was a milkshake shop and came out with a bubble tea,
and he would have been pissed off.
He's like, lighty popping pills.
What are that?
Let's go to Georgia and oh, I had to the edge.
Morning, Georgia.
Good morning.
Which celebrity uses the same whatever as you?
I was at the same hotel as the president of Nigeria.
Wow.
Oh, wow.
That's big.
There must have been lots of security and stuff there, Georgia.
yeah, well, we thought there was a wedding happening
because there were just suddenly all these really
fancy dressed people, but
we spotted him. If I want to use
the same hotel as the president of Nigeria,
where do I have to stay?
In Abuja in Nigeria.
Right. Oh, right, okay. It was like he was here
and you were in a QT. That's actually really handy
because Clint's going on holiday there next year.
Yeah, no, no. It's great. He's run out of
other places to go.
Zara! Hey, Zara. Hey, Zara.
Okay.
Oh, you go.
No, you go.
No, you go.
My cousin is Luca Connor, and she was in the Black Prince and won the rugby world cast in 2021.
What supermarket does she use so the rest of us can go there if we want to have a weird claim to fame?
Honestly, I just kind of see her around least.
Okay, so you don't know.
It's useless.
No, I mean, that would be a claim to fame if you were even going to the same chiropractor, same physio.
Oh, Dylan goes, did you see that?
Dylan goes to the same chiropractor as a New Zealand celebrity.
That's wild.
Morning, Dylan.
Good morning, good morning.
Who's getting adjusted at the same place as you?
Brian Fox and Dan Carter.
Wow, they must be a good chiropractor.
Ryan Fox, the golfer, won a major title just recently.
If he's going there, he brought the trophy in.
Oh, did he?
Brought the trophy.
Yeah, we got photos.
Oh, that's cool.
That's cool that he did that.
Even though they're golf and rugby union,
Are you a league fan, Dylan?
Massive league fan.
A whole carriage is Warriors Man Cave.
Oh, mate, do you want some more merch for it?
Please.
Okay, well, Posty have given us a bunch of Warriors merch packs.
Shop your official license, NRL.
Warriors merch at Posty, selling fast.
We'll send you one out.
Thank you.
You're welcome, me, Dylan.
Yeah, how good.
And remember, if you do hear the ads, it is her.
Hi, I'm Dr. Riley.
from Tand Health and yes I really am Dame Valerie Adams GP
And we'll finish with Jesse's text which is the best one
I know a girl who knows a guy who is a friend of the cousin of Lord
Listen to your favourite breakfast show whenever you like
Clint Meg and Dan
Right now Johnny Edward
Psychic Medium from the TV show crossing over joining us on the show
He's done readings for listeners in the past
$1,000 US an hour I think
Because he's that bloody good
Oh he's big international
He's not just your runner
the mill, like, you know, local psychic.
No.
He's international.
Yeah, big following online.
But before we talk to him in that regard, we thought, a head of the wise game,
we've been talking a lot about superstitions, a lot about bad luck and lucky people,
jinxes.
When it comes to the spiritual world, does that actually exist?
Is there such thing as an unlucky person?
Morning, John, what are your thoughts?
So I kind of like land in between, right?
I kind of look at it as what we put belief in is what we create belief in.
So there's something that is called manifestation, right?
The law of attraction.
So what we believe, what we think we kind of create.
So we have to be careful about the belief systems that we have.
So if you say black hats are bad, well, then you've assigned that belief that black cats are bad.
If you say, like, I'm not going to go on the 13th floor just because the elevator doesn't stop, you know, it doesn't say 13.
It's still the 13th floor.
So the matter of your perspective, it's not like we're not skipping a floor in the building.
So I think that we could project fear
or we could project confidence.
Do you think there's anything in the fact
that every time I watch a game, they lose?
And it could be the first loss I've had in months.
Do you think there's something in that, John?
Maybe you shouldn't watch.
Yeah, that's good.
That's the very important.
Do you think what are lucky people
that just seem to have all,
the best things happen to them all the time?
I think that when people are coming from a place
of being so lucky,
they're actually knowing that they're lucky
because they're creating that.
I'm so lucky.
Everything happens for me.
Look, I do this.
They believe that.
And then because they believe that,
they're creating that opportunity.
It's no different than anything else.
Like, when you're working on something,
you have to see it to achieve it.
You have to believe that doesn't happen.
The moment you allow fear to come in,
you can, quote, unquote, jinx it.
Yeah.
Because the fear of it is actually what's getting in the way of something.
That's really interesting that you give that answer
because it's actually quite a normal,
very well thought out answer. Nothing really woo-woo about it, to be honest, because you are a psychic
medium, but it's quite a conventional answer. Is it a little bit like when your brain, as far as
I know, your brain always wants to prove your rights? They call that cognitive bias, right? We have a
cognitive bias of belief. We're going to look towards something. So when people say, oh, I always
see this number. That number is my so-and-so's number. I will always say to them, yes, that might
be your dad's birthday. That might be your grandma's birthday when you see that on the license
late on the time.
But I think sometimes it's because you're looking for it as well.
It's when you're not expecting to see it and it pops in that you could take as your sign.
But if you're scanning for numbers and you're looking for it, like, it's a puzzle,
then you're going to find it because you're putting your attention in it.
And where you put your attention is where you're going to find the answers.
Great answer, John.
That's such a good life lesson as well for everyone to take.
I don't know if I'm going to put you on the spot here, then, John.
And I don't know whether your powers actually cross over to sport.
But what are the chances that the Warriors beat the Knights on Sunday then?
He's not going to do it.
I'm the worst when it comes to sports.
Between that and babies.
You've always said babies.
Yeah, you've always said you've never been able to pick babies.
Yeah, that's tricky.
We'll have to just wait and see in the weekend then.
Sometimes they give me weird information.
I'll be like, the team that's going to win,
one of the players has a blah, blah, blah, and then a this that and the other thing.
And then that's how they'll give it to me.
They won't just tell me what the team is.
It's like they give me a validation about the team
When you say they, who's they to you?
My guides.
Your guides.
How many do you have?
Usually between 6 to 11 work with me.
Oh, okay.
John, thank you so much, as always, for talking to us.
We're going to get you on back next week
so you can maybe do some readings for some people.
If you're interested, you can always text us 3, 3, 4.3.
Yeah, thank you, John.
Bye.
See you later.
Bye.
Bye.
All right, next, me guys no idea what is going on.
Dan and I do, and we're going to give our friend an opportunity to shine.
Coming up.
Clint McGee and Dan.
Is that a stitch?
It's always a stitch up if you guys say you want to make me look good.
You know, you've heard of Christmas, Meg?
Yes.
You've heard of your birthday?
Yes, Dad.
This is going to trump both of them.
I don't know if you...
Okay, so it's going to be shit for me, great.
I don't know if you know what today is, 18th of September.
Does anybody know?
Can anybody guess?
0800 the Edge of 3343.
A special day for Meg.
18th of September, International What Day?
Take the edge of your day with Clint Meg and Dan.
Age.
18th of September.
what a day 18th of
September is. Daniel wants to have a quick
guest at it. Dan, good morning
mate. What day is it today?
Hey, is it Poem Day?
No, Daniel, I figured it out.
I didn't know that you guys would
know what it is, but can I
it sounds as dumb. It's international
muffined. Yeah, it is.
The muffin man. The muffin man. The muffin
man. Yes, I know the
muffin man.
Have you to know this about me. What is
that is like, it's up there with part of your personality, really, is not?
I'm a big fan of muffin break.
I've been going there for many years.
It's a place my mum and I would go to all the time,
and now I take my daughter and my mum to it.
Yes, I enjoy.
Okay, hashtag not spawn.
No, I wish they were, but I've never received a single free thing for muffin break.
It should be sentencing down.
If Matilda Rice is the face of Colgate, Dan Carter, the face of Chemist's Wehouse,
Meg needs to be on the posters at Muffin Break.
You're Muffin Break, if you are listening, this is free advertising, so you're welcome.
Okay, Dan wants to know if Meg is Meg is Mega Meg the Muffin the Muffin Mastermind.
In a good old-fashioned Muff-off.
Ten questions.
Can Meg prove her loyalty to the brand by getting a perfect score?
Ten from ten.
Do they know this is happening?
Who?
Who?
Do they know?
No, no, it might suck.
We didn't want to ask them.
We haven't run it past them at all.
I don't think that won a muff off.
Okay.
Because they've got a promotion on today.
So that's what I'm going there after the show.
Oh, okay. Well, don't jump the gun on the questions.
What do you mean you're going there today after the show?
You go there every day.
No, I don't go every day.
I don't go every day.
You got to start looking like a muffin.
That's all I'm used to say.
You are what you eat?
Dan, do you want to do question one?
Is this actually like Mastermind?
Yes, you have a specialty subject.
And mine's muffin break.
God, a legacy, I'm leaving.
If you get three from 10, not a fan.
Five, nah.
You kind of like muffin break.
once or twice a year. I think if you get eight,
you're elite muffin fan. I don't know
if I'm going to get these. Ten? You need
to have shares in the company. Yes.
Okay. So they start off easy and get
harder, just like the real mastermind.
First question. What are three muffin flavors you can get
at muffin break? Mixedberry,
apple, cinnamon, caramel, madame.
She's got it. We'll pay that. Right. What city
Meg did the first muffin break in New Zealand
open? Um, I
believe it was Auckland.
Yes, it was.
She's good.
Name two muffin bake.
Frape flavors.
Vanilla.
Mocker.
She's only gone and done it.
That's so dumb.
Meg, you're having the time of your life.
Do not like.
No that I'm getting them right, I'm kind of...
What?
Okay, she's three from three.
What is the name of muffin breaks rewards program?
Is it muffin break rewards?
Yes, it is.
I thought I might have got to run a trick question.
Oh my God.
Oh my God.
Okay.
Here we go, they get harder from here.
On what date is New Zealand's $3 Muffin Day in 2026?
That would be today, Dan, the 18th.
