Starting point is 00:00:00 This is a podcast from Rover. The edge of your mornings with Clint Megan Dan, Edgast. Good morning. That should work. Good morning. I think that was about my seventh or eighth. Good morning. Happy Monday.
Starting point is 00:00:13 I was like, that doesn't sound right. First week back. Oh, look how well-rested Clint Randall is. The system's been in autopilot for a week. I had to manually take it out. It feels like we've been away for a while, but it has only been a week. Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:00:27 But good to be back. Crazy. You get back, though. And you're already thinking of. and when's the next one? Oh, I wasn't thinking that. I was thinking, what are we doing for today's show? Yeah, right, yeah.
Starting point is 00:00:37 Clip was obviously not thinking about turning the mics on. No, no, no, no. No, Dan goes to me, and he says, F this S, when he got out of his car. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I did say that. Oh, I did, yeah. It's early, isn't it? Do you know what?
Starting point is 00:00:50 I was so tired this morning. I felt nauseous. Yeah, I hate that. And Brady's got a new fear unlocked. He was talking to me about it. He goes, oh, so tired. You know, when you get in your car, and the speakers of the car sound funny?
Starting point is 00:01:03 I was like, I don't think I've ever been that tired. No, wow. The nauseous one's bad. I've had that. I've had that this morning too. But you know, well, not rested. We're back. We'll sort out our routines,
Starting point is 00:01:17 but I also set up to midnight watching a grand final that the Warriors weren't in, so that was self-inflicted. So would we have won? You know, if you think about if we were that team? Good question, me. Yeah, I think we would have. Oh, really good.
Starting point is 00:01:28 I think we would have. I think the Knights only lost by one, and they played like crap. And I think if, and we lost to the Knights. Yeah. So I think if the Warriors within the Grand Final would have been the first one we've won. Oh my gosh. I mean, of course. But I thought you'd kind of be able to tell with how the play was.
Starting point is 00:01:44 Yeah, that's good to be back. Morning Andrea, morning Sanjay, morning Matt, morning, morning, Marilyn, everybody that's texting again. So nice to see your voices, faces, names. Text? Yeah. It's still early, guys. God, you guys have really let yourselves go.
Starting point is 00:01:59 No, Dad, you've forgotten how bad we are, I think. Yeah, I think not. Let's not get the bar too high too early, Dad. We'll just keep raising it slightly as we continue between now and ten. Also, we've got a hundred bucks cash to give away with a brand new sponsor inside the next ten minutes on the edge. The Edge is the home of Clint McGendown. Edge. We'll whip around, see what each other got up to while we've been away.
Starting point is 00:02:21 Haven't seen you in a week. Clint saw Meg, I think it was on Friday, did we? Yeah, we came to say goodbye to Ash Lenton. Clint couldn't be bothered. Oh yeah, what was I? You never liked it, did you? Never liked that show. I had it makes 30th.
Starting point is 00:02:32 Yeah, it had it makes 30th drinks. Meg, straight after that, I went across to the mall with my son George. We just know to Albany Mall. Oh, yeah, okay. And we're waiting for the lift to go upstairs. And I witnessed a live moment where someone said, when are you due?
Starting point is 00:02:50 Oh, yeah. And the woman said, I've already had the baby. Oh, that's a shame. That's a shame. It's so bad. Oh, I sat there. literally missed the lift to witness it. Like I was like, George, stay here, we're going to watch.
Starting point is 00:03:01 A lot of information I hear, eh, after a birth? Yes. Yeah, well, there is. I remember I look back at photos and stuff for me, and I definitely still look pregnant for a while afterwards. I mean, duh, you were, like, inflated for nine months. It's not going to take a few hours to, like, go back down.
Starting point is 00:03:15 It was incredible, and such have dropped ball from the person who asked, because I assume she knew the lady, because she was coming, this woman was coming out of the, like, changing room for kids and families, you know, that thing at the mall, and the door opened, she comes out, she sees this lady that she obviously knows and she goes oh good to see you
Starting point is 00:03:31 where are you due and the woman literally had the kid the baby in her hands and she goes here he is right here he was born three months ago and she goes what oh my god you keep just doing like she's putting a hand on the belly as well she did she put a hand on the belly oh no well then that woman's an idiot if there's a three month old baby she's had the baby
Starting point is 00:03:49 incredible it's like how dumb can you be true the baby's got to be at least looking like it's about aged one if she's still got another one cook it in there really If you'd given me the option of going to the movies or witnessing that, I would have witnessed that all day, every day of the week. It was joyous to watch. Do you know even worse than that?
Starting point is 00:04:06 My sister-in-law has done this exact thing, asking her, like, when she's due, and I think she had, like, a one-year-old. Oh. Just don't. Never ask when someone's due. Oh, in fact, when my wife was obviously pregnant, and people go, oh, congratulations, I used to beg,
Starting point is 00:04:22 she didn't have enough fun with it. I said, her, please, just for her, like, even a few seconds go, what for? Just say what for And then just watch them die inside While they think Oh my God Is she not pregnant
Starting point is 00:04:32 I'm kidding Yeah I'm obviously pregnant I could have physically put that baby in there And I'd still question asking You know like I'd be like Is Hannah pregnant I'm not gonna mention it I'm not gonna mention it
Starting point is 00:04:41 Guys would have so much more fun trolling people If we got pregnant Thank God we don't Just any way less people in the world I think there would be Actually I think it would have died out Many many moons ago Guys if I'd be honest
Starting point is 00:04:53 We wouldn't have made it to the 21st century No way No way. All right, first call of the day next. I'm not actually going to tell you what you get, because sometimes then I think you're just going to call us because, you know, of the carrot. But I will say there's a little treat in it for you this morning. You feel the first call of the day?
Starting point is 00:05:08 That's just $800. Oh. Get your Clint McGinn to Dan Fex. First call of the day. First call of the day. Look, what happens? Just a quick little week off during school holidays. Also, I guess we're in the middle of them at the moment.
Starting point is 00:05:23 And we've got a brand new sponsor, MTV Finance, who are sorting you out with 100 bucks every morning for our first call of the day. That person is James. Congrats, James, 100 bucks to start your morning. That's awesome. Hey, I have just seen what you do for a crust, James. This is great.
Starting point is 00:05:39 You work as a road sweeper truck driver. Are those those trucks with the little brushes on the side that scrape all the rubbish out of the gutters? That is correct. That's cool. That would be one of my top ten jobs I'd want to try. anything where he gets sitting. Come and give her to go.
Starting point is 00:05:58 I will. Yeah, he loves to sit. Yeah, he'll sit down on my ass and do. Well, not that it's doing nothing. I think there's actually quite a skill to that. Because you have to get the brush in the right position, I imagine James. Yeah, every time you drive past the car and you see they've curved their rims, you're like, there to you're like, too close.
Starting point is 00:06:13 Yeah. And James, when's your next holiday, by the way? We just got back from one. Do you have any annual leave kicking in or are you waiting around for Christmas? It'll just be Christmas. Oh, yeah, for Christmas. Okay. And it's got a special skill as well.
Starting point is 00:06:26 We talk about special skills on the show, James. Your one is a Woody Woodpecker impersonation. Now, I didn't even know... Hey, candy. Oh, yeah, he got a bit of a resurgence with a Netflix movie that came out number one and two. Okay, we'll give it to us, because I don't know how to compare this to anything
Starting point is 00:06:42 because I don't know Woody Woodpecker. Oh, okay, I'll do it again. That's quality. That's good. I don't know if that's good or not. That's very good. Very, very good. It's better than mixed care.
Starting point is 00:06:59 It's a lot better with helium. Yeah. Oh, yeah. I imagine you get a little bit of helium in you. That's harder to party. Well done, James. James, 100 bucks cash all yours, mate. Any ideas where that'll go?
Starting point is 00:07:08 You're legend. Well, I just had to buy a new battery for the car, so it'll just top up the coffers again. Oh, yeah. Good. Batters are expensive as well, aren't they? I actually bought one as well just a couple days ago. Yeah, $280. dollars. Do Tesla's need batteries?
Starting point is 00:07:24 Just not petrol? No, it's for the jet ski. Yeah, I just got to get that sort of for Christmas. If you're buying a battery for a Tesla, it's more than 280 bucks, mate. Meg, that's a scam. Meg's like, I'll take three, actually, because Clint might like if it's been one. All right, James, thanks so much. Stay there.
Starting point is 00:07:42 We'll get you 100 bucks out to you. Pleasion. Thanks, James. And it's all thanks for our brand-new sponsor, MTF Finance. Your local money experts for personal and business finance. Alright, let's get into and find out what's been happening over the weekend. Jack Black is performing as his alter ego and will Benson Boone ever date a fan? Jack Black performed as Jack Sabbath, which is the Black Sabbath Tribute Act, fronted by Jack Black,
Starting point is 00:08:14 at the Power to the People Festival. There was somebody else I know that Al Fanning, Dakota Fanning, they both think he's the sexiest man alive, Jack Black. And then somebody else recently, a celebrity female woman said the same thing that Jack Black to them is the epitome of sex appeal because he's so unique, he's so himself, he's so funny.
Starting point is 00:08:47 But can you imagine on the other end of, if female celebrity looked like at the same sort of graces Jack Black, There would be no one that would be saying the same as her being a sexy lady. I don't think he's the classic sexiest man alive. Yeah, but a lot of people find him the sexiest man alive. Isn't that interesting? That's the first time. But then, but we're shocked by it as well.
Starting point is 00:09:05 Yeah, you're right. You're like, wow. Yeah, yeah, you're right. I said it was the other way around. They find her. Yeah, true. And Benson Boone, would he ever date a fan? Oh, lochin.
Starting point is 00:09:19 Yes. I get a lot of compliments. And a lot of really good. words that come my way and I get used to that. I look for someone that wouldn't pursue me. Like, would you prefer someone that didn't know who you were? You met me in a bar or something? Or just someone who has no interest in DMing me or messaging me or coming up to me on the street
Starting point is 00:09:39 and talking to me first. I love Ben Saboon. He just needs to retire the backflip. Well, he said that he was saying he's like, I have a lot of people who tell me I'm cool, who tell me I'm hot, who tell me I'm telling to say my backflips are cool and I want somebody that I feel like I have to chase. I don't want somebody who couldn't care less about his job. Oh, that's like Dan's wife.
Starting point is 00:09:58 I literally thought of Hannah. She couldn't care less what I did. But 25 years, so did it as being helping New Zealanders make smarter money choices. The Edge just hits in Auckland. The Edge, Clint, Megan Dan. 26 to 7, we're back after a week off, well-rested, to make it through to the end of the year. Yeah, it's now, and like everybody. Shut up, Clint.
Starting point is 00:10:21 He's going away again. Oh, piss off he is too. What, in like two weeks. you're going to no way again. Three. Oh, it doesn't matter. So, I honestly... I wasn't even supposed to take last week.
Starting point is 00:10:30 I only had taken it because you guys wanted it off. Oh, don't blame us, mate. Anyway, let's forget about that for now. I'm being a supportive husband because my wife has a work trip to Africa and I said to her, that's a dangerous place. I'll come and protect you. Well, could you protect anybody? I can put someone in a sleephole.
Starting point is 00:10:48 What are you doing? Protecting her from a lion or someone that's carjacking. There's two different things. There's a new advert that's going viral. on the internet, have you seen it yet? It's about being a new mum. We'll get into it next. Taman Pilate's loser.
Starting point is 00:11:01 This one going out to my mate, Dan. Do you know what on the Dan? Clint McGinn and Dan? It's Breakfast. There's an advert that's going around on the internet at the moment. It's by the Ad Council in America, and it's called The Secret to Motherhood, which it starts off by some women
Starting point is 00:11:21 that look like they're in an antinatal club, if you don't know what that is. It's a group where you get together with other moms or parents or dads or caregivers that also have babies around the same month as you, and it's meant to be a bit of a support group. And it's all strangers, so it's quite hard to get to know people quite quickly, especially for the most important and most vulnerable time of your life,
Starting point is 00:11:43 of what people tell the truth, what people exaggerate, what people like. And everyone's also, most of the time, a new parent, the first time ever experiencing this. in an antenatal group in class and in that everybody has a different baby and if it was an antinatal group with your second kid
Starting point is 00:12:01 I think everybody would have a lot more like oh it's the baby more so than it is you what kind of baby you get affects your experience an easy baby or a hard baby even though you know what I mean if you're lucky to get one couple that you get along with
Starting point is 00:12:12 like really well in the antenatal and I bumped into that that couple like a week ago and they bought us shots we're at a restaurant and then Dave was like shots and I was like oh we need to hang out again I was so lucky with my group We're doing our fifth birthday together.
Starting point is 00:12:25 Wow, that's... Five years. Incredible. But this advert has really spoken true to a lot of people about how, for some reason, especially when we're trying to show that we're a good mom and we're holding it all together and we're thriving, that we're kind of lying to our peers of how hard it is. How do you make it look so easy? How are you already back in your pre-pregnancy genes?
Starting point is 00:12:47 Okay, to be fair, I can barely sit down in them. Okay, but actually... What is your secret? Honestly, I feel like my body just knows exactly what to do. I also have a really consistent morning routine.
Starting point is 00:13:03 It sounds cliche, but remembering to slow down and breathe, making time for myself, leaning on my support system. But honestly, you want to know the real secret. You have to remember to enjoy every
Starting point is 00:13:21 single Second. Yeah, if you want to see it, Mum, to 3, 3, 4.3. But as you can imagine, what she's saying doesn't make, the actions that she's doing in the background don't match her words. She's crying a lot. She's up all night. She doesn't know what she's doing.
Starting point is 00:13:38 Good ad for contraception as well, that one. Yeah, probably. What's the feeling me, because you're getting quite emotional, almost like in tears, like hearing the ad? I think, I think it's just, it's just everybody does it. Every, every mum that I know, unless they genuinely got a really great support system and a really great kid that just happened to do
Starting point is 00:13:56 all the things that babies are meant to do and it was quite easy. I think a lot of us especially as first time moms wanted it to look like we just took to it like a duck to water and nobody wants to look like they're struggling and something that is meant to be the most natural thing in the world
Starting point is 00:14:12 and I think it's really great to see an advert that I think is so honest and I get emotional because they hope that will help people realize that a lot of people lie unfortunately. Well that's the problem is like if one mum tries to tough it out by saying that it's all fine and not being really honest, then the next mum I guess has to feel that she has to do the same. And so you've just got all these mums all lying to each other
Starting point is 00:14:33 about how they're coping when really one just needs to go, I'm really not. It's actually one of the most difficult things I've ever done. And then all the other mums are probably, oh my God, me too. Yeah. And it's hard to do with strangers, as they said, like in antennas. Which is most of the time where you have these conversations. Oh, when I went to an antennasium,
Starting point is 00:14:50 I remember there was a lady that brought in a whole chicken and ate it while we were... A bachelor's... That wasn't in the advert. No, because you said it was a real, real look at angenital classes. Was that included? Hey, mum, did 3343.
Starting point is 00:15:03 I think more people need to see it, so I'm going to send it out to you. I remember talking about contractions and she was eating like a breast, a chicken breast. Don't you judge that pregnant woman. She obviously did what she needed to do. She had some pregnancy cravics.
Starting point is 00:15:15 All right, what are we doing what was it in the ad but needs to be in the ad to make it more relatable to anton naturess? Or what did you eat at the antinatal class? Listen live weekdays from sex on Rover And catch up wherever This is Clint, Meg and Dan The Edge
Starting point is 00:15:29 All right, I'd love to know What was the moment That prompted the birds and the bees chat Was there like something that happened Then you're like, okay, I think it's time And you realize you've been putting it off, putting it off Because over the week off First Week of School holidays
Starting point is 00:15:43 We were playing some board games They're doing puzzles, just wholesome stuff And... I didn't know you're retired Yeah Yeah You know if you're like at a bad And then it's just you have one of those days when it's raining and you start going through the wardrobes going, what have we got on here?
Starting point is 00:15:57 Let's have a quick guess of what games they played. I'm imagining they had a quick monopoly. Monopoly deal? I'll pay you that. Did you have a game of life? What's that? I've got a niche. Sorry.
Starting point is 00:16:14 Okay, I've ruined the game. Carry on. Okay, it would have been a scrabble in there? Banana gram. No. Oh. No? Okay.
Starting point is 00:16:24 Settlers of Catan. Code names. We've got a nine and eleven-year-old. No. Oh, okay. No, I also would have played rummy cub. Hangman? No.
Starting point is 00:16:34 You can't play that in 2020. What do you call it now? What do you draw a picture of? Just a man. Swing man. Swing man. Swing man. And Scatogorius was the game that actually ended up inspiring.
Starting point is 00:16:45 The Birds and the Bees chat because the letter was P. And there was only one word. my wife could think of when it said a four-letter word. Jesus. Starting with P. Any word in the English language? Did it rhyme with corn? Go. Huh?
Starting point is 00:17:00 Pink? Pink? No, incorrect. P-O-R-N. Yes, Stan. My wife goes, oh, it's all I could think of. Then skip your turn. She got the point because in categories, if someone else, like one of our children, had also written porn,
Starting point is 00:17:17 then you don't get a point because your answer isn't unique enough. But as it turns out, I didn't write down porn. And neither did my nine or 11-year-old. So Jay got the point for that, my wife. Brilliant. And then Ty...
Starting point is 00:17:27 Was she drunk? No. And then she doesn't even like it. She actually really despises it. Yeah, she stops you from watching it, doesn't she? He's always whinging about it. Yeah. Daily whinge in the morning.
Starting point is 00:17:39 Anyway. So my nine-year-old naturally turns around and goes, what's that? Oh, God. Because obviously, when we're writing down different words... Well, obviously! Yeah. And so it being prompted...
Starting point is 00:17:52 What's the, okay, go on. Birds and the Bees chat about, my daughter kind of already, she smiled like Sheridan you, and I've realised because she watches friends and she's watching the whole thing for the fourth time now. I don't remember them talking about porn much than that.
Starting point is 00:18:07 Remember that episode where Joey and Chandler get free porn? And then they don't want to turn the TV off because they're worried that they're going to lose it. Yeah, yeah, that's right. Yeah, so my daughter realized that it's like people nude, people like, that are naked. So is that how you explained it? Not all porters.
Starting point is 00:18:22 So anyway, we had to, well, we got into the explanation of, like, you know, people will film themselves doing stuff. Oh, my God. And then you can see his mind boggling being like, but why and for who? And oh my God. So we end up having quite a full-on bids in the bees chat. And then they got to ask any question they wanted and we would answer it. And then how babies are made. I remember for, like, four years, I couldn't even swear in your house.
Starting point is 00:18:46 Yeah. You still can't, okay, still can't swear. I have swear jars, 50 cents for the S word. A dollar for the F word And we took out the other word Because I said No one should be saying that word In our house alone paying to put money in a jar
Starting point is 00:18:58 You thought that was weird as well Clint got B next and you did Bukaki So Try to explain that to a 10 year old Eddie did to win That's a 12 point word though Yeah Was there a moment for you
Starting point is 00:19:11 Were you like all right Now I guess we're up in the birds And the Bees chat Those are just the Randall household Not looking forward to that chat To be honest See you in a Sparrow on the edge I've had it obviously
Starting point is 00:19:20 Your way down next And you kiss my lips Your favorite radio show In podcast for Edge Breakfast Clint Megan Dan Our webbottes Our webbill baller is back
Starting point is 00:19:32 Sabangess and she's been away For three months And we have missed her desperately Especially me Because she was like the only other girl in the team Yeah So I've had only boys for three months I'm so happy you're back
Starting point is 00:19:42 Jeez, it's been gone so long She forgets like how to use a microphone Just talking I'm like what do I do here Yeah It's great to have you back We'll forget your Europe stories coming up tomorrow or something.
Starting point is 00:19:52 I bet there was some stories. Oh, yes. Like, yes and no. I was thinking about it. I was like, do you know, I was like, do you have any like stories to tell? I was not like crazy ones. Wow, we're going to be minding you for the next three weeks. Okay, okay.
Starting point is 00:20:06 We have nothing in tomorrow shows. This is what Bella got up to in Europe. Bella, do you remember your birds and the bees chat with your parents? Did you ever get one? No, I never got one. Never. You never got one? No.
Starting point is 00:20:16 Interesting. How do you know what goes where? Like, school, friends, friends, movies. Interesting. Producer Carl? I'm pretty sure. Wasn't the first one to give you the Birds and Bees chats your boyfriend, Creech?
Starting point is 00:20:30 Which would be an education if anyone knows Crete. Here's the worst nightmare for a Birds and the Bees story. You may remember Jaden from Sharon and Jaden back in the day? My goodness. Yeah. Well, I ended up having that chat, Bella, with my kids over the weekend because we were playing categories. The letter was P. And one of the categories was a four-letter word.
Starting point is 00:20:51 And my wife goes, when it comes to her to give the answer, she goes, I don't know, I just got this word, and then I couldn't think of any other words starting with P that has four letters. Of course, the word was porn, and my kids wanted to know what that was. So it prompted the birds and the bees chat. And Sarah, I don't know if it needed you to explain it. I would have just said it's an adult website. Nothing to do with you.
Starting point is 00:21:10 Move on. Yeah, but also the kids are in age now, whereas like that conversation does need to happen. It's probably too early for my 9-year-old, but too late for an 11-year-old. they're going to have to learn at the same time. I mean, when else. We're on holiday. We're an else, we're now.
Starting point is 00:21:25 Sarah, when did it happen to you or was it your mother? It was my mum. So she came home, she'd been away for the weekend. She came home and my granddad met her at the door where your mother wants to speak with you. And mum's like, um, not sure what I've done wrong. I've been away. She comes into her bedroom and my grandmother's sitting on the bed and absolute tears holding mum's contraceptive pills.
Starting point is 00:21:49 And it was promise me you will never ever have sex again. That's a big promise. She's screaming out her face. And mom goes, no, I can't promise that. And she's literally begging like, why? Please know why? And mum goes, because I liked it. Oh, brilliant.
Starting point is 00:22:07 What an answer. Do you know how old mum was, ish? Probably would have been maybe 17 or something, 17. Yeah, yeah. I get it. Wow. Oh my gosh, how brave of your mum to sit there knowing her mum was sitting there crying
Starting point is 00:22:26 that not many people would be able to take that. Jackie's one of seven. It says not one, Birds and the Bees chat. I think we all just taught each other. Why is it called the Birds and the Bees? Because birds and bees don't fornicate with each other. So why is it called that? And they're not known as being the most sexual
Starting point is 00:22:40 of all the animals and insects, are they? Does birds stand for C of? C Okay Why would a bird stand for that? What? Because that is a bird It's a bird Meeks just come back from holiday
Starting point is 00:22:59 No, I'm just trying to think You're trying to find the explanation Easy money next is give way $1,000 I thought it was something to do with at least the sting up on the bee That would have been better Easy Money $1,000 on the line Let's play
Starting point is 00:23:14 Easy Money Just gone 7 o'clock Here we go, 10 answers in 30 seconds This morning starting with the left to end and the catch is yours Shaz. Yay, Shaz! Good morning. Good morning. First cab off the rank. All right. Are you ready to go?
Starting point is 00:23:30 Let's see how we go. I am ready. Okay, good. This is good. All right, your time will start at the end of Meg asking you your first question. Here we go. Perfect. Give me a country. Nigeria. An occupation. Nurse. A family member.
Starting point is 00:23:47 Nifew. Something you can wear. A nighty. A three-letter word. Pass. Something you put on toast. Nutella. An active wear brand.
Starting point is 00:24:02 Nike. A band. Pass. A game. Pass. An actress. It was terrible. No, that was it.
Starting point is 00:24:16 It was great. The three-letter word, you were flying. And you know what? Passes promote passes, and that proves it there. You got three passes. Really good start, though. We had not nap, nut, new for the three-letter word. A band.
Starting point is 00:24:30 We had in sync, Nirvana, no doubt, Nickelback. Oh. Yeah, but... It's always easier when you're not playing. It is always easy, but sometimes it's, yeah, nice knowing because you sit there and go crazy
Starting point is 00:24:40 trying to think of what they could have been. It wasn't a full pants and shaz. I think your pants sort of halfway down your ankles. I think you're all right. Yeah, you're not right. A bit of Builders crack, maybe. Yeah. All right.
Starting point is 00:24:50 Another try. Yeah, back again. 8 o'clock if you want to crack at easy money, thousand bucks up for grabs. Meg is the worst luck with one thing in particular in her life. Every single time she decides to get involved with it, it goes bad. Uh-oh. This is the Clint McGinn-Dan catch up.
Starting point is 00:25:09 Want to hear the guys off air and a little looser? Listen and watch their Overthinkers podcast. Good Mick and Dan. Second week of the school holidays, we had the first one off. So if the roads are a little quieter on the way into work this morning, that'll be why. That will be why. Well, I spent my holiday getting my house ready for you to buy it. Buy my house, please.
Starting point is 00:25:25 It's going in the market in three weeks time. You can buy my house. Going for a bargain, isn't it? It's going, well. The vendors desperate to sell Yeah it's going for a great price For what you get We're putting a lot of work into it
Starting point is 00:25:37 And it's quite scary doing that actually Because you don't know if it's going to be worth it Because the market shit Are you marketing like specific Things to like edge list is where I'm like This is where Meg had her homebirth in this room I don't know if that would sell anything Flynn and in fact I don't want to put anyone off
Starting point is 00:25:52 I don't want to stuff up this opportunity We need to move to a different location from my daughter's school So come by my house. When you do the staging with the open homes, you should pretend to be giving birth in one of the rooms. Again, I don't know of that. We're bringing listeners of other people in the moment.
Starting point is 00:26:06 It's like a moment through time. We go through and it's like, it makes like playing different roles and then jumping into different rooms. And it's like a real experience. So the conceptions in one room. And you go to the next room and she's giving birth. I think the estate agent will probably kick me out of the house.
Starting point is 00:26:18 It's be fair. We're taking our photos down. But that's what we're doing at the moment where we're trying to stage it, we're trying to paint it, we're trying to do everything. What? I do like 10 years in 10 minutes. And it's Meg's life
Starting point is 00:26:29 and all the life she's lived over the last decade in a 10 minute It's mostly me on the couch during crafts glitz It'd be like seven of the men It'd just be different felting things Okay
Starting point is 00:26:37 Um So Hobbit's on repeat My husband and I rented a car I didn't know you could do this We rented it from a like a
Starting point is 00:26:46 rental place Well it was You've been having to rent cars for a while No no It's like What do you use them And then what do you do
Starting point is 00:26:55 Up to Stop It's through bunnings which means that you could just borrow it for an hour or so. It was just, you can borrow a van or a trailer because we don't have one. And we borrowed a van. We went to IKEA to buy a bunch of new furniture to stage the house that we will take to the next house. What's wrong with your furniture?
Starting point is 00:27:11 Okay, fair. So, I think that would put people off the most. You could see the home berth on the couch. I'm kidding. I'm kidding. I'm kidding. Yuck. So anyway, then we went to IKEA. It was awesome. We got the things we needed.
Starting point is 00:27:25 We came back to the van that was. In the car park, we'd gone straight from bunnies to IKEA, and it had a screw on the tie and a flat tire. We couldn't bloody believe it. We'd had this van. We'd try to be responsible for an hour, maximum. Why did you drive over a bed of screws, then? That's not responsible at all, is it?
Starting point is 00:27:40 Really. Guess how many screws were missing, too? We tried to put the table together. Very sexy to watch my husband, like, know how to change a tire on a van, by the way, like a big van. I didn't know. Especially when you do... It's not your van.
Starting point is 00:27:53 It wasn't his car. He's never driven a van before outside of this rental. So seeing him just do it was very, very nice to watch for me at least. And then he was driving home on the spare. And he said, you know what? We've had really bad luck with rentals. And we went through it. We've had one we went to Australia.
Starting point is 00:28:10 And as soon as we pulled out of the parking lot onto the motorway, a truck went by and flicked up a rock straight into the wind screen and it cracked. Is that the one that you got told if you get a piece of sandpaper, you could sand it out. So Mick tried to sand out the crack. And guess what a day? did, Dan? Oh, I'd say it made it worse. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:30 It just made scratch marks. Yeah, it did. Could have told you that. And then another time we got on a trip to Topor and my husband, that was his fault, to be fair, didn't see a pole and backed into it. And we figured out white Toyota's every time. We've hired something. A white tootra, we are now banned from them because something's gone wrong.
Starting point is 00:28:48 Maybe you should drive. I just wonder whether he's been driving every time and it's been the issue. Maybe you need to be. I think you're not the unlucky one. It's him. It is the worst when they're. when they go, no, would you like to take out the extra insurance? And we all get told it's a scam.
Starting point is 00:29:01 Like, you don't need to take out more insurance because, I don't know, maybe your travel insurance when you're overseas already covers it, whatever. And then when something goes wrong, you're like, I knew I should have took that stupid box. Yeah, it really is so frustrating. It ended up not being as expensive as we thought it was going to be. I think it was an extra 90 bucks.
Starting point is 00:29:17 But still not 90 bucks that we just had lying around, happy to give away. You know what I mean? Like, I thought it was going to be 200, so it's slightly better. The money you saved at IKEA was spent on a new time. on the rental. I know. Nightmare.
Starting point is 00:29:28 You just can't win, can you? You can't, Dad? You can't, you can't. So, if only they sold flat pack tires. They got everything else. What happened to the rental? Do you want to do that this morning?
Starting point is 00:29:41 Yeah, because it is the worst when it's not your car, and again, or Airbnb, something, maybe, something that means? Anything that you rented. Because you think you're going to do it on the cheap, get in and get out, and then you realize, oh, this is going to be a major. And some people can rent very nice dresses.
Starting point is 00:29:55 There's a lot of rental companies. that you rent outfits and dresses so you don't have to buy the expensive thing. Well, you go rent jet skis on holiday, thinking that'll be fun. I've never driven one before, I'm sure it'll be fine. Yeah. I mean, you can rent pretty much anything, can you these days? Like power tools. Clint Mc and Dan, Edge Breakfast.
Starting point is 00:30:10 We want to know what happened to the rental, whether it's the boat, the car, the house. But when you're in charge and then a lot of the time you don't take out the extra insurance because you think, I'm not going to need that. What are the chances? If you're Meg, very high. Yeah, very high. I'm white toweders. Specifically, I've had some sort of accident.
Starting point is 00:30:26 or something go wrong with a rental. But, yeah, it's so frustrating because if you're on a rental, normally you're trying to just get something done or you're on a holiday, and it does just taint it. Is this one fair enough? This one said they're renting an Airbnb that specifically said no pets, but they were like, how will they know? Oh.
Starting point is 00:30:43 They bought their dog. Wouldn't you just know one of their friends fed at something? It wasn't supposed to eat, and they had diarrhea for 24 hours. Honestly, you'd be so pissed off if you were the person that owned that house, eh? Yeah, why can't you just stay? to the rules. Yeah. And there are places
Starting point is 00:30:59 that are happy to bring dogs, maybe less though. This is another rental vehicle one. Went to a Maui camper van, left the handbrake off at the camping ground and it rolled into another Maui camping. Oh, dear. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:31:10 So when I asked you, they rented a boat and they tied it up to the wharf, but they didn't realize the tide comes in and out at the time. And so when they went back, it was just sitting on the mud and they couldn't get it back. Oh, that's a nightmare.
Starting point is 00:31:20 You've always got to think about the tides, eh? You forget about the tides. All right, it's got to Mirren. Hi, Maren. Morning guys. Morning, Mary. Morning.
Starting point is 00:31:29 So this happened at a car yard. Yeah, so I was buying a car off a car yard, and while they prepared that one, they gave me a very nice Audi A3 to drive. Let me guess it wasn't nice for a lot. On the day I was due to give it back, I was driving to work, and a lady popped a U-turn in front of me, too close, and clipped me. and we all know what the excess on car yards cars are like so that was a thousand dollars later oh you poor thing the day I gave the car back and it was so nice to drive to
Starting point is 00:32:08 so wait the car in front of you hits a U-turn yeah right so she like she pulled out from like the side of the road to pull a U-turn across two lanes trip and then you like T-boner kind of yeah she like just she was too like too slow or did it too close and just the end of her car clipped the front of
Starting point is 00:32:26 Did you say it was $1,000 for the excess? Yep. That's crazy because this van that I had that was extremely digged up, it was $4,500. Oh, it's a joke. Bloody how. Ridiculous, right? Yeah, so your out of the somehow would at least damage
Starting point is 00:32:43 this bunged up van I had. Okay, that's good to know. Thanks, my name. I think they do that so that you'll take out the extra insurance to bring the excess down because you're right. You go, four and a half grand. It's a rental. I witnessed an old man.
Starting point is 00:32:53 I don't think it was a rental car, but I was at the gym the other day. And this old man, he looked like he was too old to be driving. And he backed into another car and drove off. Oh no. I took his number plate and doubled him in. Yeah, good on you, Dan. So he won't be driving for much longer. Get your Clint Meg and Dan Fax.
Starting point is 00:33:10 Yeah. Clint Meg and Dan, how many people are in open relationships do you think? Yeah, I'd love to talk to someone that has been, or currently is, in an open relationship. Because Meg, read some stats on the weekend while I was doing a bit of Googling. About open relationships. about open relationships. Not that I would ever want, in all seriousness, I'd never want to be in one.
Starting point is 00:33:30 Oh my God. Be such a nightmare for you. I couldn't cope. Although, haven't you ever fantasised a little bit about the thruple setup? Not just from a romantic standpoint, but from the hand, like the helping hand of, you've just got one extra person to help cook and clean and tidy the yard and drop kids off at sports events and think, you know, just one, imagine it. No, because I don't want to be in a thruple with my mum. And I feel like my mum is like, you know, like my mum to come out.
Starting point is 00:33:55 be an option. Yeah, because you guys, you're saying like, why... I'm thinking someone much younger. But you're saying like somebody just help out around the house and stuff. Well, I mean, it's still a romantic relationship. Oh, right. But I'd lose out with my wife and it'd end up being a thruple with another man. So I'd just be like Dennis dropping my kids off at school and stuff.
Starting point is 00:34:11 No, Clay, I can't think of anything worse than two men to have to look after. So, no. Right. Not for me. Yeah, true. What about another woman, though? To... Um... Um... Well, now she's thinking about it. Yeah, right?
Starting point is 00:34:25 I will, I'm just, yeah, no, it wouldn't work with me. I'm far too jealous. Sure, the intimate side of things might be tricky from the jealous point of view, but I'm like, if you can work it, I reckon your house, I would run so much faster. Well, it's interesting, it's more common than you think, because in Australia, there's the end of a survey done, and it says that 6% of all Australians, which equates to be about 1.3 million people over in Australia, have been in, or are currently in, an open relationship,
Starting point is 00:34:52 where they are with someone, but they're sleeping with other people. Isn't that crazy? Million people in Australia. I know one couple, and they seem beyond happy. And it's so normalized and so like it's just like part of the conversation. And it's so wonderful to see. I must say, it's not for me. But I see it's just perfect for them.
Starting point is 00:35:12 So you see them and they're out. One of them might be hooking up someone else and you're like, I'll find their own relationship. What about their friends that don't know that see them? And then what? They've got to go running back to the partner and like dobb them in or say nothing. You know what I mean? Like when you, if not everyone knows you're in one, it's got to be awkward when your friend sees you at a bar with somebody else.
Starting point is 00:35:30 Is it open, and you don't need to give too much detail, but is it open in the sense that they see the same people outside the relationship, or is it just different people, like free and easy? I know this sounds probably really bizarre, but I'm not even asked many questions about it because it just is so normalized that I haven't been sitting there going, wow, I need to know the ins and outs. But I imagine they see different people, and I imagine it's open enough, but there's no details given.
Starting point is 00:35:53 Matt's text through saying it's very common in the gay world. Are those friends that you know, are they gay? No, they're not. Okay, well, there hasn't been a definitive census figure given for a New Zealand study, but there was a study done late last year, early this year, the mega Kiwi sex survey. They said 18% of New Zealand respondents said they tried some form of non-monogamy. So whether it be like open relationships or swinging.
Starting point is 00:36:20 But again, these aren't necessarily people in relationship. These are just people that took the survey. But I thought 18% is high. Well, it's been interesting now. If Matt says it's very common in the gay world, I didn't know. I don't know if that's gay men, lesbians, or if it... I mean, I guess it could count swinging.
Starting point is 00:36:35 I went over to Clint's house once and put my keys in a bowl. Big mistake. Have you ever wondered why he has that bowl at his front door? You lie, Dan. You just ended up delivering drinks to everyone most of the time. Yeah, I was on drinks. I was on the parades. Anybody else is there to top up?
Starting point is 00:36:49 Anybody need to electrolytes? You don't like you're starting to get dehydrated, Leslie? All right, well, if you do want to shine a little bit of light on an industry that maybe a lot of us don't know a lot about, 0800 The Edge or fire us a text 3343. Yeah, maybe it's been a swinger. Maybe you've been in an open relationship in the past, whatever. Take the Edge off your day with Clint Meg and Dan. Talk about open relationships this morning, 6% of all Australians have admitted in a survey that they are in or have been in an open relationship of some sort in their life. Someone's text through, and this is a really interesting text.
Starting point is 00:37:23 being in an open relationship for a while. In the end, we found it exhausting and we ended it. I did it for about two years, and it only became more and more difficult to maintain. It works for some people, but it didn't work for us. Two years is a very long time. One's always going to do better than the other. It's never going to be 50-50 ever, right? I don't know if you keep score like that.
Starting point is 00:37:45 But surely you both think it's a great idea, until all of a sudden your partner starts pulling 80% more off than you do. That'd be me. I'd be the one that's going, what? It's another guy coming through. Clint, Clint. What? That's crazy, man.
Starting point is 00:37:59 No. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No, it definitely would be. No. What? There's no way. I'm definitely the one. You'd get lots of people wanting to stay.
Starting point is 00:38:08 Wait, so what happens? So, let's, okay, let's, let's just scenario this. Your wife comes home and she's like, hey Dan, Brad's going to pop around again. I'll be headed. I'll be headed. I'll be ahead. Dan, so have you got plans tonight because Brad wants to pop around again? Oh, I've got anyone but Brad.
Starting point is 00:38:24 We all know Brad. If you don't like Brad, I can message Sam. Oh, not Sam. Oh, okay. Not Sam, not Brad. What about Conrad? Conrad's all right. Him and I get on.
Starting point is 00:38:34 I'll just watch you. Wonderful. No. So I imagine Hannah goes, because you go, what am I going to do? And she goes, well, I don't know. Don't you want to take your remote control car out for a bit of a hoon around the street? That's true. And just give us like, I don't know, a short two and a half hours to ourselves.
Starting point is 00:38:47 Hannah's just started buying me a whole load more remote control cars. That's why. Keep you busy. She's like, here's two more. Yeah, because I'm like, do you have to leave the house? Or do you just go into another room and watch a movie? I know what could happen. When the guy comes over to get with Hannah, he could bring you a car like a little treat.
Starting point is 00:39:03 Oh, like a little treaty. And I go, thank you, Mr. Conrad. That's work. You really? The problem is if you're going into it, there are so many things you probably need to discuss, but you don't know what you need to discuss until you know. And by then, you're already well and truly in the thick of it. I mean, we've had like, obviously it's a very serious.
Starting point is 00:39:22 secretive world as well. It's not something you talk about too much. We had a few texts through. Not one of them is speaking about it in a positive way. Let's be honest. Yeah, or it's all, I was in, I was in, not I'm currently in. I wonder if it's hard to maintain them. Yeah, and then someone else said there's a gridlock on the motorway between Rollerston and Hornby. So I don't know if that's like a some sort of euphemism. Is that a metaphor for something?
Starting point is 00:39:43 Yeah, no, I don't think so. I don't think so. Breakfast hits harder with Clint Meg's 10. All right, Meg's got a really cool idea. Don't say that. No, Glenn. Olivia Dean tickets No, you guys True a false tan
Starting point is 00:39:55 I think it's true It's not my idea at all It is a promo idea The guys are trying to pin it on me So I look like an ass Why did you send all the emails then? Stop! Don't believe them
Starting point is 00:40:04 This is what's annoying People don't know your stupid sense of humour And they're gonna believe you Yeah Producer Carl, what did you hear? Oh no Meg, just when we play this song Can you just come in and brief me On what kind of calls you want for this please?
Starting point is 00:40:14 It's not my bit It's not my bit Listen to your favourite breakfast show Whenever you like Clint Meg and Dan The Edge First, though, if you want to go to Olivia Dean, who's going to be here in a couple of weeks' time, we're giving you the chance to call in, and not my idea.
Starting point is 00:40:29 I don't want anybody. I had nothing to do with this. I was off. No, no, no, how do we play? So what do you have to do here? It says written up here. And your email. No, not my email. In the promo update, it says give one of us a compliment.
Starting point is 00:40:45 Oh, is it tying in with a nice to each other song. I guess so. I guess so. I guess so. It's not my idea. Don't ask me. It's not... It's weird that you wrote your email
Starting point is 00:40:52 ideally and then it was in capital's me. No. It's not. Please, I'm scared people. This is true. So apparently at the end of the week we're going to pick a favorite compliment about ourselves.
Starting point is 00:41:05 And you'll score a double pass. Too easy. So essentially, I know what you've done here and it's a great idea. It's not me. It's not me. I've not done this. It's nice to each other,
Starting point is 00:41:12 Olivia Dean's song. And you've gone, you give us a call, 0800 of the edge and be nice to us in whatever way you want. And then you want. And then you want.
Starting point is 00:41:20 win tickets, maybe. You know what they say flattery gets you nowhere? Well, on this show, it does. On this show, it'll get you to Olivia Dean potentially. So what, Meg, do you want like a whole week's... It's not me. Please stop asking me questions. I don't know the game.
Starting point is 00:41:32 Do we get a week's worth of compliments and then our favourite compliment on Friday wins? I think so. Let me read it. And Meg will be the judge. No, I won't be the judge. Oh, my, come. I think so much. I actually hate compliments.
Starting point is 00:41:45 I get very uncomfortable. One last question about... It's not my thing because I wouldn't do this. Do they? have to compliment the show or are you wanting them to compliment like you personally, myself or Dan personally? I don't know, Clint. What do you
Starting point is 00:41:58 want since it's a team thing? Well, Tamson's text through saying that's a really good idea me. Tampson! I swear to go, it's literally my worst nightmare. See, Tim, this is why I don't like us. See, that's positivity. Because you guys join in! She's playing the game as well. That was a compliment towards you Meg. Yeah, she's saying you've got a great idea.
Starting point is 00:42:14 Okay, so the best compliment at the end of the week if we're still going I still remember what they said about me or whoever goes to Olivia Dean for free. You know what? You should call up and compliment Clint or me because that'll really piss off Megan her game. It won't piss me off.
Starting point is 00:42:28 In fact, I'd love it. Please call up and compliment Dan or Clint. And I love you guys. Do you know what? One of the nicest thing that our listeners ever said because you do remember the really mean and the really nice. That's true. Yeah, the stuff in the middle kind of in one ear and out of the other, I guess.
Starting point is 00:42:43 Remember Graham one time a podcaster of this show said, Clint, I thought you were the most. replaceable on the show but when you're away on holiday I've realised you're not yeah yeah that was I didn't say which one of the 20 thought it was now yeah true that's one of the nice things anyone's ever said about me all right you're not the most replaceable you can call us up now 0800 the edge and that's your chance to get in the draw to win Olivia Dean tickets one in five chance he said you're a lovable idiot as well someone else's text through edge breakfast Clint McGinn Dan we've got so many uh women coming to perform in New Zealand
Starting point is 00:43:16 in the next few weeks hey there's like Hillary Duff, Lily Ellen Zara Larson and Olivia Dean of course in like 12 days If you want to go to Olivia Dean You just have to be nice to each other See what you did there make
Starting point is 00:43:30 It's my worst It really is something that And I don't want to You know Not compliment The promotions team of whoever came up with this But it is my worst nightmare sitting here And just taking a compliment
Starting point is 00:43:41 It does make me uncomfortable And I don't know why it is But I really struggle Yeah some people are really bad at it When you go Oh I really love your job And then rather than going thanks, I go, oh, this is actually really, oh, this is like an option. It's like $4.
Starting point is 00:43:52 Yeah. And you know what? We live in a world now that compliments don't flow free and easy, do they? It's all negativity. Especially with Kiwis. My goodness, we've got something, you know, really against it. And that's what Meg's trying to do with this segment is get rid of tall poppy chopper. Dominique, welcome.
Starting point is 00:44:07 Welcome to the show, the very first compliment off the rank. Let's see if it's going to be good enough to win you Olivia Dean tickets on Friday. Morning, babe. Oh, morning, babe. Morning, Dominic. So what's your compliment? Well, okay, I want to compliment you all, but I have to choose one of you. So Meg, you win today.
Starting point is 00:44:23 Oh, of course. Sorry, sorry. She gets the first compliment. I'm already, okay. All right. Thank you. Okay, you're very authentic. You keep it real.
Starting point is 00:44:33 And so I love listening to you. It's like talking to, listening to my mate's chat. That is a wonderful. Thank you, Dominique, because I like to think. But like it seems like all of you, but, Meg, you. No. Dan's really fake. He's awful in real life.
Starting point is 00:44:47 But I like to think. What you see is what you get with me. So I appreciate that that comes through. Thank you, Dominic. You're in the drawer. Thank you. Candice also texts and say, Meg, I really appreciate how you encourage vulnerability
Starting point is 00:45:01 and share your true struggles. It makes the rest of us feel normal. It's back in the corner. I know what she's doing. No, like the more you struggle, which is often, according to Candace, it makes her feel normal. No, she doesn't mean that.
Starting point is 00:45:15 She's going, oh, thank God she's worse off than me. That's what she's thinking, I, sort of. Okay, Melissa. Yes, okay, Melissa. Who are you complimented this morning, Melissa? Hi, I'm really sorry, Meg, but I'm going to have to give you a compliment. Damn, and you've been on my mind ever since you made that post-partum video, and I don't want to get emotional talking about this.
Starting point is 00:45:38 But even you're saying that you're experienced post-bathom with a baby that sleep versus a baby that doesn't sleep, I just stuck with me. It's just so reassuring because I have a daughter who doesn't sleep. and she went to bed at 12 last night she worked at 4 this morning like I've got to go to work and I've slipped through my life and I just, it's a video that I hold on too I've shared it with my husband
Starting point is 00:45:57 and I'm like this is so reassuring which is just what we need to air because you know so back your friends sleep train and they seem like they've got their luck they're put together so just very much, hey hey hey shut up dangerous I've got one little thing to say to you Melissa
Starting point is 00:46:09 you've obviously got a sparkler baby they make fantastic children because they've got tons of personality and they're ready for life in there. Want to be close with you and up. You're doing a great thing. Every phase passes. Keep going. And yeah, you're not alone in it. Okay. Oh, I appreciate it. You're good one, so. Thank you so much.
Starting point is 00:46:27 Imagine Melissa wins tickets to Olivia Dean. Doesn't even have a kid. Yeah, true. Smart play from her. Someone's text through. Matt's text through saying Clint is the gayest straight man I know. Dan, the coolest nerd. And Meg, the straightest bimbo. The smartest. Because she's not straight at all. I'm not straight at all. I'm not straight. I know, Dan. He's got Clint's eye mixed up. Yeah, it's new to the show. I'm Clint, and that is...
Starting point is 00:46:50 Oh my goodness, I'm all sweaty. Well, so what do you want to do it again tomorrow, Meg? Look, I'm not my thing, Jack. Clint, I think she sent her email that's a recurring segment. Okay, so we'll give you another chance to be nice to us again tomorrow, and then Meg will pick her favorite compliment, probably about her. And you want to talk to Olivia Dean from being nice to each other. Can we, Clint's not?
Starting point is 00:47:08 I get a least one. Be nice. Maybe it could be our day tomorrow, Dan, if Meg allows it. All right. Easy money next. Sold out Auckland concert at the newly renovated Western Springs Bowl. Saturday 17th of October. It's our night 12 days away, which would be such a good gig.
Starting point is 00:47:26 And if you haven't got tickets, that's going to be your way to win them this week. All right, easy money. 30 seconds on the clock. Give us 10 answers. And we will give you $1,000. The letter this morning, if you want to prep for it, is R. Ahr. Have a read.
Starting point is 00:47:40 It's very easy this one. Good luck. We'll do it in 90. Easy money. Clint. Time. Get you ready, Bergen? And Dan's. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:47:50 Easy money. Thousand bucks on the clock. The letter, if you want to play along this morning, is R. R for really easy. Yeah, okay. And if you can give us 10,000 30 seconds, the $1,000 cash is yours. Oh, it's Tunisia playing this morning, boys. Morning, Tunisia?
Starting point is 00:48:06 Morning, Tina. And you'd spend the $1,000 on bringing your dad home for Christmas. How lovely. Where is he? Yeah. He's on Wellington. Oh, yes. Oh, nice.
Starting point is 00:48:16 Do you normally get Christmases together? It's just such an expensive time of year, isn't that, with flights and everything? Yeah, yeah, no, Blaminee, New Zealand. You know, we had them last year, but it would be nice to have them back again this year. Of course, okay, well, let's hear that money. Oh, Dan is sitting in next to the radio going, come on, Tanisha, don't want to spend Christmas alone. Okay, let's do this. All right, all right, all right.
Starting point is 00:48:37 All right, all right. All right. All right, all right. Your time starts at the end of Meg asking your first question. Give me a name. Robin. A fruit. Raspberry.
Starting point is 00:48:50 A shape. Round. A drink. Raspberry. An ice cream flavour. A puff. A beauty brand. Revlon.
Starting point is 00:49:08 A type of music. Reggae. Something round. Orange. Time. Unfortunately, Tanisha, we could have ended it at the start because you used raspberry twice. You can't use the same answer twice. I should have said raspberry, cordial.
Starting point is 00:49:25 Yes. I reckon that would have put it. Sure, that would have been better. I was like, oh, if we've got time, maybe we'll come back. But also, sometimes we've stopped the game midway before and then gone, oh, actually, hold on. Unfortunately, I'll let you do the run. Got to be staying in Wellington for Christmas.
Starting point is 00:49:40 Yeah. Or you could go to him. Yeah. You go to him. It's beautiful, Wellington. Yeah, that's beautiful. Tanisha, thank you so much for playing. You can always play again as well in the future.
Starting point is 00:49:49 Right? Just get through on the phone. Yeah, seven and eight o'clock every morning if you want to crack it at easy money, $1,000 on the line. A really cool day for a New Zealand female-owned business yesterday where they got a completely out of the blue shout out from an A-list celebrity. Full A-list as well.
Starting point is 00:50:06 What grease is that? Imagine the amount of money you'd need to pay to get something like that. The Edge is the home of Clint McGendam. There is a Kiwi brand, a female-run business called Pure Mama, which is a brand for mums with their baby bumps and also, I think, post-partum as well. They've got nipple creams. We've got a baby bum oil, which I use through both my pregnancies and other amazing products
Starting point is 00:50:31 that randomly got a shout out from the one and only Anne Hathaway over the weekend. So I have a three-step bump routine. And I think it's called, it's an oil called by Pure Mama. And that seems to have been a game changer. Wow. Oh, good. So candid as well. So candid out of nowhere.
Starting point is 00:50:51 So we have Maggie on the line, who is, I believe, in the global marketing of Pure Mama who has been there since the beginning of the launch of the products and the company? If there was a part of the pie where everyone's getting a piece of the credit, how much of it do you get? Oh gosh, it is a full team effort.
Starting point is 00:51:08 It was gifted to her wider team, but we had no idea that she had received it. This is incredible because my wife, Hannah, used your products as well, Pure Mama, and she sent me the link of Anne Hathaway talking about it and was like, oh my God, Anne's using the same stuff I use. How is it changed? It's so crazy.
Starting point is 00:51:25 It's like there's the stuff that happens straight away with things like this. Obviously, the community support has just been overwhelming. It's incredible. They're like, they're celebrating with us. So, Maggie, you were the first person in the team, as far as I know, to find it. Did somebody send it to you, or were you scrolling and it popped up? You know what? I had just arrived at my mother-in-law's house for a school holiday's house.
Starting point is 00:51:47 And she just said, I'm putting my phone away, and I need to be present with my kids. But I was like, I need to have one last look at a message for something else. Final last words. Just one last look. And I saw Steph, one of our community members, had sent the video and had said, oh my gosh, she's using your mama and she said it's a game changer. I just turned into like full crazy high mode. I actually called Lara and Yasmin.
Starting point is 00:52:12 Lara's our founder and Yasmin, her sister co-founder. And they were overseas. It was 2 a.m. in the morning. And I was like, I'm calling them. So I called them and woke them up. got them on the height as well. And you can go back to sleep. That's okay.
Starting point is 00:52:25 It's so annoying. Because to get somebody like an A-List celebrity, which I think Anne is, especially the trajectory that she's on at the moment. And she's got the most famous, like, baby bump in the world at the moment, right? Like, everybody's actually looks incredible. She's always known to be chic and put together and beautiful. Would you know the sort of numbers that normally,
Starting point is 00:52:42 if you were to pay a celebrity, how much money would that normally set back a company compared to what you guys got for free because she's a genuine user? You know what? We've been talking about this so much. since this has happened. I just don't know. I actually couldn't tell you.
Starting point is 00:52:56 I could find out for you easily. But I would say it would be, you'd think it would be in the hundreds of thousands, right? She's just a really relevant person at the one day. I reckon you're probably being modest. I reckon it could be in the millions. Like when you hear Kim Kardashian just endorsing a product and it's like a million dollars minimum
Starting point is 00:53:12 for her to put something up on her Instagram and be like, this is cool. But you also know she's being paid to say that. Whereas I think what makes us even more valuable is a genuine endorsement because she does use it and love it. What is the likelihood that she has seen me half naked because, of course, I did model.
Starting point is 00:53:28 That's right. Five years ago for a very short. Probably more like four-fifths naked. We're going to do a reshare. We're going to get those images back up. We've said other celebrities and a lot of amazing people share, but you've been a huge part of our brand from the beginning and a huge part of the success at the beginning in New Zealand as well.
Starting point is 00:53:49 So. They do say I'm the Anne Hathaway of New Zealand. Yes, yeah. But when you start saying, oh, a lot of celebrities like our product, we got Anne Hathaway. How many names do you say before you say McMansell? No, Megan, up there.
Starting point is 00:54:03 Megan's 100%. All right. Thanks, Maggie. No worries. Thank you so much. Bye, babe. Anyone else set up bounceback for those picks? My picks?
Starting point is 00:54:12 Yeah. Um, no, I'm trying to think where you can find them still. Oh, let's get on Instagram. That text nudes. Then they cover my nipples. It texts Meg's nudes. My pregnant nudes. So that's what everybody was.
Starting point is 00:54:27 Actually, I've got an idea for you. Speaking of you, Meg, I've got an idea next. It's inspired by this incredible Anne Hathaway call out for that company, New Zealand company. I reckon you could do the Anne Hathaway treatment for another business in New Zealand. Ooh, I wouldn't say we're on the same. Your husband's text through Meg's nudes. No, sight. I'll send them to you, guy.
Starting point is 00:54:50 Get your Clint McGinn and Dan Fix. You may have seen it over the weekend. We've just finished talking about it, about Anne Hathaway calling out Pure Mama, a New Zealand brand. Is it like getting rid of stretch marks and stuff on after? No, I think you can get rid of stretch marks, but it helps the skin to soften to when it does stretch. It's not as painful or itchy.
Starting point is 00:55:10 And she was doing an interview, wasn't she? And she called them out just candidly. So I have a three-step bump routine. And I think it's called, it's an oil. caught by Pure Mama, and that seems to have been a game changer. And it's obviously affected their business exponentially, huge sales. Well, it's just happened, so I hope that it really does for them. They're a really great, small, well, you know, like have done well, but only five or so years old business.
Starting point is 00:55:35 Amazing if you just end up, like, catching a genuine endorsement from like a massive celebrity of what it can do. There's this guy I now follow just since the weekend, I call Nombie, start listening to his music because there was a clip of Matthew McConaughey, just being asked what he was listening to when he was doing an interview with Drew Barrymore. What are you listening to right now music-wise? Nambi? Nambi? Put it on. Going through the day.
Starting point is 00:55:57 It's not having you. It's not sit down, dedicated, listen to every word. You just want to flow through your house doing what you're doing? Put on Nambi radio in the background. And Nombie has obviously clipped that up, put on his Instagram, and he's like gone and quadrupled was following over the weekends. I want to listen to it now.
Starting point is 00:56:10 Oh, wow. I saw this another... Just getting a random endorsement from Matthew McConae. I saw another one recently. I don't know what's in the ear. with celebrities the moment, Helen Mirren was asked in an interview who she wishes she could work with and a
Starting point is 00:56:27 woman who does the voices for some audio books, not an actress, just a voice, like as somebody who reads audiobooks, Helen said I'm listening to this woman who does the most amazing reading and does really great inflections and I would love to work with her one day and the girl saw it
Starting point is 00:56:43 and she's like, as I said, no one. And Helen Mirren said she's the person I want to like work with. Be with. Jesus. And she wants a gay relationship. So this is where the idea came from for me. I thought Meg is our Anne Hathaway on the show, isn't she Clint? She's the person that she says something and people go, God, that's gospel. Meg says it.
Starting point is 00:57:01 I actually have the smallest following out of the three of us. So you could call us, 0,800 the Edge, if you own a small business, maybe you've just got a side hustle, maybe you've got a, you know, a medium business, maybe you're a mechanic. Could be anything. You're a butcher. You own a skincare company. Meg will endorse anything. She's desperate.
Starting point is 00:57:17 So you call us. Meg, I'd say, 24 hours to come up with some sort of endorsement. Being a vegetarian, I wouldn't say it's the best call for me to be... Yeah, true. And I, I always already worked with a skincare brand, so that's hard. Look at her. Already being picky. No, I'm just...
Starting point is 00:57:36 She hasn't got any money yet. I didn't know if this was happening. And I'm not getting any money. Oh, yeah, is this free? Is this free, Dan? This is free? It's a natural... Provino.
Starting point is 00:57:44 Yeah, endorsement, isn't it? Yeah. Well, yeah, true, because if you're being paid, it waters down the endorsement, because you go, oh, Kim Kardashian or Meg Mans was paid to say that. Yeah, yeah, doesn't hit as much, does it? It would be good if you got to actually trial the business and you got to sample whatever it is that they'd do. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:57:59 That would help. So here's what we'll do now. I'm under the edge. If you own a business and you're wanting to get a little bit of endorsement from Meg, a huge. Like, this could affect your business. What's my weight got to do with it? No, no.
Starting point is 00:58:09 You just pointed to me and said a huge. Did you say put all of her weight behind it? No, I didn't say that. I said it would be a huge influence, and I'm sorry I pointed at you, but I said huge. influence on your business. Okay. Sometimes you just do that.
Starting point is 00:58:22 Don't get it out, unfortunately. I feel it's open to you boys too. You just want to do it with me. We can't get Anne Aft away, but we can get your Meg Mansel. It will be a huge influence. Don't wait for you say huge. Oh, 800 the Edge. Go on. What are you got to lose?
Starting point is 00:58:36 Clint Meg and Dan. The Edge Breakfast. The Edge. Clint Megan Dan, The Edge Breakfast, brought to you by MTF Finance. We got ourselves a brand new sponsor. Thank you, team. They've already given away $100 cash to a listener early this morning. Local lenders across New Zealand.
Starting point is 00:58:48 with Finance Ready when you are. Right, right now, Anne Hathaway has gone, well, was that over the weekend? She ended up endorsing Pure Mama, a New Zealand brand, and it's doing wonders for their business. Dan thought we don't have Anne Hathaway, but we do have Meg Mansel, and maybe she could endorse your business. Someone say she's better. I don't think there's a single person on the planet that has ever thought that.
Starting point is 00:59:11 I think Anne Hathaway can be a bit wingy. You're not. You're just perfect. You're in every way. I think there's every positive, just positiveness. Hey. So, 0,800 the edge. Maybe you own a business.
Starting point is 00:59:20 Could be anything. Maybe you're a mechanic, a panel beater, a butcher. Maybe not a butcher because Meg doesn't eat meat. Wouldn't be good, would it? Yeah. Any type of business. And Meg will choose which one she's going to endorse over the next 24 hours. She'll be the face.
Starting point is 00:59:33 You can get her face on your car. You can, she'll do ads. She'll do anything. Okay. She'll turn up at your, like, opening of one of your shops. I have no, I have no idea how we've gone into this point. Have you heard of the briskos lady? Me could be that for you.
Starting point is 00:59:48 Okay, who've we got? Tammy, hi. Hello. Hello, Tammy. Now, what's your business? So my business is a little bit of a side hustle. So it's a wedding content creation business called Captured in Love Media.
Starting point is 01:00:06 Love it. So what do you do? You turn up to somebody's wedding and you do their social media for them. Captured in love. So basically it's capturing the behind-the-scenes moments, You know, so like when you're at a wedding, you want to be in the moment. You're not going to be there.
Starting point is 01:00:21 Love that. You're not going to see your mum or dad crying, but I'm going to capture it. I'm going to be the one that catch it. So you get to like relive your wedding the date, like next day. So I deliver content within 24 to 48 hours. Well, I mean, because obviously for Meg's endorsing business, I feel like she'd need to experience it. Can we get Tammy to go into Meg's house and film Meg's moving day? And we get to like see behind the scenes of all the stress involved in moving house with two kids.
Starting point is 01:00:50 God, I'm going to get you for my next wedding. That's brilliant. Are you having a next wedding, yeah? And you know, okay. I love that, Tammy. Good on you. I think it's a really cool new business idea that, you know, people need to get into. Okay, we've got Jared.
Starting point is 01:01:02 Hi, Jared. Good morning, Tim. How are we? Good, man. You've got a business that you want Meg to endorse? What is it? Yeah, it's not my business. It's my sister-in-law's business that my wife is very much important.
Starting point is 01:01:15 involved in. It's pretty much open on the 1st of October. So it's called Little Gatherer. Okay. And it's pretty much a children's boutique. Oh, I've bought from you guys before. Yeah, I've bought from you guys. Sure. Unless you bought from the 1st of
Starting point is 01:01:31 October, it wouldn't have been enough. Maybe not. Go ahead. Bye again, please, for all means. So, yeah, children's boutique, clothing, sensory items, pretty much anything you can think of. Yeah, awesome little stores. So, yeah.
Starting point is 01:01:47 Well, you've done a great work on the website because to me it looks like it's been up for ages. You know what I mean by that? Well, there's a little, yeah, a little... Well, there's a blog already. Oh, it looks great. Okay, cool. I'm going on it already.
Starting point is 01:01:57 Okay. Oh, there's so many people wanting this endorsement. There is incredible amounts of people. Oh, okay. Do you want to take a couple more, Meg, and then we'll decide what it... Are you going to lock it in today? Let's go to Hayden. Let's go.
Starting point is 01:02:11 I'm going to bring Hayden on. Morning Hayden. What's your business that you want on? Yeah, go on to Hayden. What do you want me to endorse? Could you please endorse my building company in Christchurch? Dixie Normis Construction. We do residential, we do renovations, we do the lot.
Starting point is 01:02:26 Thanks so much for that. That's a good one. And the name rolls off the tone. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So who's Dixie to you? He's my uncle. Dixie, Dixie. And last name, Normas, guessing.
Starting point is 01:02:38 Yeah. Okay, cool. I don't see anything wrong with that one. That's in the top three for me. Okay. Thank you. so much for that Hayden Dawes. Hayden's uncles, Dixie Normas.
Starting point is 01:02:50 I think they've missed me this week because you have had a lot of fun this morning. Oh, I think Hayden was having most of the time. Listen live weekdays from Sex on Rover and catch up wherever. This is Clint Megan Dan. The Edge. Clint Megan Dan, on this day, back in 2010,
Starting point is 01:03:16 Instagram was launched. It's 16 officially today. I wonder what the world would be like. And let's just think, let's sit in this for a minute. Okay. What the world would be like if Instagram was in a thing. I think it would be a better place. Yeah, we'll tell that to your bank account, damn, Mr. Influencer.
Starting point is 01:03:32 True. In fact, I've got another one coming out today. Well, I scrolled all the way back in the very first thing that I posted. And back then, maybe we didn't know that it was going to be. Otherwise, there'd be so much pressure you're going to, wait. This is the first post of one of the most famous apps the world will ever know. We might have given it more thought. but I took a photo of Guy Sebastian's album
Starting point is 01:03:55 and we're like, this is a banger. Look at us. What's the caption? What does the caption say? It says, getting out. I can't read it. It's so small. Can you read it out to us?
Starting point is 01:04:06 Could you produce the car? Yeah, it says cleaning out the life FM cupboards. They say stuff gets cooler with age. Dot, dot, dot. Does Guy Sebastian's first album count? Oh, that feels like a bit of a dis, actually. I really like Guy Sebastian. He is wearing a woman.
Starting point is 01:04:21 He's wearing a woman. shirt, it's got a lady on it, and she's topless, and then it's got black, like, duct tape going across her boobs, which I don't think it's really guys brand. I thought it was a man. What a great... Well, that's because they taped to me. They take down. That was definitely a fashion
Starting point is 01:04:35 of the time, wasn't it, looking at the photo there? There was a real sort of look back in the early 2000. Yeah, like a dress shirt, and then you put a jumper over the top, but the dress shirt wasn't tucked in and the cuffs were coming out the bottom. If you want to feel old, Zara feels old, she says it makes me old, I was six when it came out. And here's Clint
Starting point is 01:04:51 posted about his job at Life FM. He'd have been in the workforce for many years. We got talking about those early this morning when we realized it was Instagram's birthday, and this is Dan trying to pretend that his first post on Instagram was cooler than it was. The first thing I ever posted was when I used to work at The Rock, and it's a photo of Ozzy Osbourne strangling me. Well, they looks like there's a photo beneath it. That is the first one.
Starting point is 01:05:15 Okay, well, that is the first one. Okay, well, what's the first one? Let's not go with the celebrity who choked you. It's just a photo of my house. Going, good day to be outside Go, All right, we need to change the sheet. We need to change the sheet.
Starting point is 01:05:32 Yeah, so we decided to bring this back on the show. What a pathetic, stupid, no one liked it. It's got zero likes, not one comment. I was going to comment. Somebody says, hashtag, that's the life or something. Oh, it's a good one. I've got some engagement, I guess. But that is, why?
Starting point is 01:05:44 What's that? What's in it for anybody looking at that? I think mine in yours are very similar, actually, Dan. Mine's the same sort of thing. I think is the sunrise. There it is. Oh my God. It says it beautiful night in Queensland.
Starting point is 01:05:56 It looks like a photo that was taken on like a Nokia 3310. It had about 17 filters on it because I was just discovering you could. How many likes? Hard to see from here? Five. Five like, geez. More than Dad. That was viral.
Starting point is 01:06:06 That was viral. I was pretty popular. I just realized it says here on Dan's one, be the first to like this. That's Carl. 16 years later. I'm just called notification. Carl liked your post. Thanks, Carl.
Starting point is 01:06:19 That's creepy. He's going way back. Okay. If you've got the time this morning, we'd love you to jump on your own, so scroll all the way back if you don't remember. Or maybe you do remember and let us know what was the very first thing you decided the world needed to see, and we'll do an Instagram Hall of Fame or Hall of Shame,
Starting point is 01:06:34 depending on how it's going to be photos of like landscapes. Yeah, landscapes with a bit of vignette on it. Yeah, that's all it will be. Surely not. Isn't vignette something you'd put on a salad? That's vinaigrette. Venet is like when you fade the sides in. Oh yeah, because it wouldn't be weird if they put vittiguerreed on it.
Starting point is 01:06:49 Your favorite radio show? In Podcast 4. Edge Breakfast, Clint Megan Dan. We found out that Instagram is 16 today. On this day, the 5th of October, back in 2010, Instagram was launched. Because before that, it was just Facebook, really, wasn't it? All we really used was Facebook, and we're posting on that, boomers. Now, and as soon as Instagram sort of started getting traction,
Starting point is 01:07:14 everybody sort of forgot about Facebook. It's too much noise now. What was the first thing that you posted on Instagram? And you thought, mate, the world needs to. to see that. That's going to be the first thing that I post. Hall of Fame or Hall of Shame.
Starting point is 01:07:25 We'll decide. I remember with my first posts, I think I did about eight in a row because I didn't understand that it's like you post one photo and then it goes up on the thick feed and then you kind of wait a day. Normally with Instagram you don't post
Starting point is 01:07:37 it's like a rule. You post one Instagram a day. And I did so many in a row and I had people going, whoa. Like their whole feed was just me. If they follow only like 16 people, it's just you. Yeah, I thought it was like an album, like on Facebook because obviously
Starting point is 01:07:50 we didn't know any different. There's a couple of people that text through saying that they're still trying to get back to the start of their Instagram. Lisa's text through saying, I'm still scrolling back. Wow, really? Someone else said, I've started scrolling, I'm still going. Someone says, it's important to start this text with, I'm 40 kilos overweight. My first post says, I'm finally at the gym. Hashtag, no excuses.
Starting point is 01:08:11 Oh, dear, yeah. 16 years ago still. I wonder how they are now. I'd love to know their story now, like what's going on. Man, I love to filter, didn't I? We're looking at Meg's Instagram now God there's just photos galore There's some sunsets that I've put up
Starting point is 01:08:24 That would have been beautiful That I've filtered so much They just looked like a splutter paint Somebody else said that Their first post was just a photo of their lunch Aggressively filtered with Valencia Yeah Valencia was my favourite too Wow please
Starting point is 01:08:36 Meg all your Instagram is Is food dogs and sunsets Isn't that what Instagram was Back in the day Before it became like an advertising platform And there's one that had a dog And then you scrolled along And it had like meat
Starting point is 01:08:48 It looked like you'd cook the dog No, that's Frank. Oh, he was the worst dog in the world. Frank was the worst, worst dog, and I ended up giving him away for free. And I, if you were the person, can you please let me know, I don't know how long he would have lasted. He must have passed away from just running out of Europe. Harriet is texting, I still haven't posted to Instagram yet. What?
Starting point is 01:09:11 The pressure is too much now. We need to get you on, Harriet, and we need to come up with your first ever post. Harriet's first post. Can we get her viral from one from one? That would be fun, wouldn't I? That's... Maybe she could just post Meg's nudes. Sorry enough.
Starting point is 01:09:27 The only person that's going to be making money for my nose is my husband. He asked me all the time. It's not happening. Is it this week you're going to do this? No, it's not happening. It's not happening. Harriet is there. How long have you been on the gram, Harriet?
Starting point is 01:09:39 Oh, I'm not actually on within short. I think I need a few years, to be honest. But I'm mainly joy to follow, like, my friends. Yeah. We're in a competition. I'm like, tag on Instagram. But that's the main reason why I've got it. So you're kind of seen as what people think is a burner account,
Starting point is 01:09:55 but you're actually actively using it. You just don't post. Yeah, I mean, I'm not at the, like, everyone's Facebook. I don't post, really. I don't even more to say, like, happy birthday. I'm probably more like, yeah. I actually kind of wish I was like you, Harriet. Like, having a very small online footprint would be nice.
Starting point is 01:10:13 What not? Well, then, can you get off my feed then with all these bloody videos you're filming your house? I do enjoy then though I do find them a little bit Harriet I mean
Starting point is 01:10:23 Do we have any ambition To post something one day I mean maybe But I didn't know what to post really I know everyone just post whatever they do But like I'm a mum now So I don't really want to post my kids too much And I just don't know what to post
Starting point is 01:10:38 So much pressure Have you thought of only fans That's another option No No Hey Ariet When you work out what it is That one photo you take
Starting point is 01:10:47 where you go, the world needs to see it. Can you let us know? Sure, actually, no problem. I'd love to know after two years what you've decided as. Oh, wait. Who are these girls coming up on Dan's Instagram? Can you stop going through by car? Who's that? That's Shakila.
Starting point is 01:11:01 And how long did you wear that little choker chain necklace, Dan? Wait, too long. Is that Pukka's house? Okay, wait, what is going on? Because she's on her knees in Dan's bedroom, and you're kind of crouching down playing a song to her holding a guitar. He's wearing a shirt, a choker necklace, and he's got what dirty dog sunglasses on.
Starting point is 01:11:20 Look, if you look in the background, look at all the pages I've ripped out of FHM that I've got stuck on my wall. I know you guys can't see it from there, but would you like me to roll through the 12 hashtags? Oh, God, no! Hashtag fashion, hashtag male model, hashtag guitar, hashtag rock and roll, hashtag Ebony and Ivory,
Starting point is 01:11:35 hashtag music, hashtag musician, hashtag acoustic, hashtag eye candy, hashtag performer, hashtag Axeman. Ebony and Ivory. Because she's Indian and Yoy. Oh, there's a different dog. And what do you do? Hashtag male model. Hashtag eye candy.
Starting point is 01:11:52 I'd throw to ads right now if you guys want it. Jesus, Clint. Oh my God, I'm so good. And why did you, Carl? You're supposed to be producing. He is. Oh, no, this is way more fun. You guys are just actually losers. Carl just gave us the kicker.
Starting point is 01:12:05 This is the Clint McGinn, Dan catch up. Want to hear the guys off here in him? Little Looser. Listen and watch their Overtinkers podcast. Ariana Grande positions. Clint Big and Dan. to nine, kicking off today officially, the brand new Ijabo show. Oh my gosh.
Starting point is 01:12:31 I'm so excited to listen, really genuinely, obviously. Cal is a great friend of us. He's been a great friend of ours for how many years now? It's just the best guy. And we've always been saying he deserves the show. Oh, yeah. And here we are. Morning, Cal.
Starting point is 01:12:47 Morning, guys. Good, you're so excited. I'm so excited. It's a beautiful day and I'm ready. And you get a bit more of his sleep in as well, because usually you're on days, weren't you? So now you get to sleep. You could sleep until like midday if you wanted. He's probably in bed now, are you?
Starting point is 01:13:05 Yeah. I Face-timed him the other day. I phacetim. I was running around the house with my one-year-old, and I was like, I will call Cal. And I called him. It was two in the afternoon, and he was in bed. I was like, the difference. I don't think a difference time.
Starting point is 01:13:19 When Cal's not at work, he's in bed. Yeah. I think genuinely. Yeah. I've got to get my rest, man. Got to get my rest so I can get ready and do some good big things. Yeah, so now that you've got these hours and you've got your afternoons free and your morning, well, your morning's free before coming into work, what is your plan?
Starting point is 01:13:34 Are you going to be a gym in the morning guy? You're going to get your errands done. Oh, you're going to get both. Well, look, I've made these plans. I thought, you know what, it's time to lock in and I'm going to do a workout this morning. Hey. It's going to be small. And all radio announcers hate this, especially when it's like five hours away from your show.
Starting point is 01:13:53 But what's coming up on the show this afternoon? What's coming up on the show? Oh, I knew you were going to ask that. And my response is, you're going to have to wait and see. Oh, wow, wow. I know it'll be good vibes, fun times and great laughs. That should be your tag on. And spreading joy.
Starting point is 01:14:11 Spritting joy, of course. Awesome, bro. We're so happy for you. We're so proud of you. We can't wait to listen this afternoon. Listen in from three brand new Ijovo show. Which, by the way, I think there's a lot of overseas followers on the social media pages
Starting point is 01:14:23 and not many people know what Avo means. Everyone's like, what is Avo? What is Avo? Yeah, I saw that. Apparently it's just the Kiwi and Australian thing. Who knew that? Yeah, everyone's... Literally, you can see them Googling, what is Avo? Maybe that's what it was like avocado or something.
Starting point is 01:14:37 Yeah, the I eat avocados. Yeah, Javacados. They're like, that's a funny... I'll go with it. I would also be like quite a... Quite an easy thing to figure out as well, but apparently not. Apparently not. All right, Cal, good luck.
Starting point is 01:14:48 Thank you guys. Can't wait. I get the whole drive thing when they say it's the drive show. And then people are like, oh, because you're driving home in the afternoon when you finish work. But Arvo is short for afternoon. You can't work that out, mate.
Starting point is 01:15:00 You probably don't even know what the buttons are for on the radio. They're probably Americans. Yeah, I think they were. They were Americans. Thank you. What else could it mean? Well, that's exciting. 3 o'clock this afternoon,
Starting point is 01:15:11 your chance to tune in to the brand-new Edge Arvo show with Cal. Yes, and Harrison. Or have I got the order of the names wrong? I think it is Cal's number. one. He's the first name. It's, yeah, Calias and Harrison. Well, that's how they do it in radio. It's always the most important first, and then
Starting point is 01:15:26 you go down to... Is it funny? Some people actually genuinely care about that. I've been with people on other shows, and they want their name first. Who cares? I actually think last is the best, because it's the last thing you hear, and so therefore your brain remembers it. That's why I requested that. Clint, thanks for that. Play a song, babe. Clint, Megan Dan. Want to hear more of Clint, Meg and Dan, but completely
