Starting point is 00:00:00 This is a podcast from Rover. You drop your mornings with Clint Meag and Dan. It's breakfast. Good morning. It is back on 6 o'clock. Happy Friday. Hopspah. Hoopspa.
Starting point is 00:00:17 Isn't it chutzpah? There's no P in the middle. It's not a hot spa. Yeah, hot spa. I think it's a nearly Michig. I saw it the other day on our little internal Bob. What is it called? We have this little internal website.
Starting point is 00:00:31 Maybe most companies have it. It said how many... It's like our own social media. Yeah, how many countdown to Christmas? It's not long. How long? Don't say. It's like 70-something days.
Starting point is 00:00:40 Jesus. That's scary, I. God, this year's gone quick. This is when we start doing a Christmas shopping online. So it all shows up over the next month. And then when everyone's out buying Christmas business, we've already done it. I wait till cyber Friday or Black Monday or whatever it is. It's a great idea.
Starting point is 00:00:56 Have everything sorted that you need to before then? And then get your last bits and pieces of that. and then you're done. So I think it ends November. I think your shopping should be done. It was 50-50, mate. Yeah, I know. I got them wrong.
Starting point is 00:01:09 I got them mixed up. I got Black Monday and Cyber Friday. Oh, well. Not well. Yeah, I've already done my brother's Christmas shopping. His one's done. Christmas shopping in October's crazy. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:01:21 How many have you done? I think I've got two to go, Clint. More, more. I'll be out. Christmas Eve. See you there. It's. Edge breakfast.
Starting point is 00:01:28 Clint McGinn Dan. Hit it. Hit it. Hit it. Did you miss it the spot yesterday? Did you miss it? Because if you did... Maybe if you're listening this time yesterday
Starting point is 00:01:37 and then got to work, you might have missed it. Don't have social media. Yeah, true. True. Dan took on a Jason Derulo song who was in the country and did a phenomenal show less than a couple of weeks ago. Can I just say, I've done a lot of hit the spots over the years.
Starting point is 00:01:55 This one was one of the hardest vocally. And you don't put Jason Deruloism... He's not known for his amazing vocal, is he? He's a great... performer. It was really tricky. Until I saw his live show and the way he would just jump in and out of falsetto, be dancing around just effortlessly.
Starting point is 00:02:09 He's incredibly talented. Yeah, he is. Very, very talented. I think he's underrated talent-wise. He should be, you know, that Taylor Smith song, which he said, we think that Charlie Puth is underrated. It's stage Jason DeRulo would have been a better lyric. She should change it.
Starting point is 00:02:21 Yeah, actually. I think the two most underrated female. Petition for Taylor to change the lyric from Charlie Booth to Jason Derulo. It's more of a rhyming thing, but anyway. I think Jason DeRullo is the most underrated. male performer singer. Who are you going to say for it? Number two. Okay, same time female. Or the female
Starting point is 00:02:38 former? One, two, three. Carly Rae Jepson. Who? I know I just copied me because I knew that she'd be... Oh, I think Rita Oara is super underrated. Yeah. I reckon that Rita Orra's pissed someone off in the industry. Yeah, for sure. She's so many bangers. She teams up with DJs. There's really cool remixes and things.
Starting point is 00:02:54 Anyway, she's just kind of there like, like Jace. All right, anyway, this was the attempt of Hit the Spot where Dan sings along to a song. I get rid of the music. He sings Alka Pella, I'll bring it back at the chorus And let's pray to the singing gods That he is in perfect time Good like, buddy
Starting point is 00:03:08 I have a Katie Perry song Every time that you get undressed I hear symphonies in my head I wrote this song Just looking at you Oh oh Yeah the drums they swing low And the trumpets, there you go
Starting point is 00:03:34 Absolutely perfect And I've been going through some of the comments down I thought there was a really cool comment here That was from a drummer Did you see that one? No, there was a drummer and he said Let me see if I can find it very quickly Because I was like, you know what, this is a really big compliment
Starting point is 00:03:57 Especially for a drummer who is very good at keeping time That's their job in most bands That's what he said He said as a professional drummer of 18 years This is so impressive A proper musician would overthink it and hit the tempo so rigid that they could lose the feel this guy has right here.
Starting point is 00:04:13 I'm a feeling that he's going to nail every single one that he throws it. He should have fixed the end. He's a bit of a stutter. It wasn't my favorite comment. You must have seen the favorite comment that that put up. No, I haven't actually read any of the comments on the day. No. It is, oh my God, it might be my favorite comment of 2006.
Starting point is 00:04:34 Oh my God. Okay. No, I definitely want to. Yeah, truly of the year. I keep going back and rereading it. Not about me, not about you, about our Dan. Oh, is it a nice one? It's a nice, it's really nice.
Starting point is 00:04:47 Oh God, which makes me think it's not nice. It is nice. We're not blowing more smoke up Dan's ass. Oh, well, I'm happy to do this. Hey, look, my checks are spread. I'm ready for some more smoke. It's from your mum. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:02 Get your Clint McG and Dan Fix. All right, Meg has something very embarrassing to share with you. about Dan. It's actually lovely, Clint. Is it? It's very lovely. So our Dan did an amazing hit the spot yesterday. Really came back with a vengeance volume.
Starting point is 00:05:16 Yeah, it's been a couple of months since we've done it. It's so good to come back with a bit of hit the spot fun. And it was Jason DeRullo, which meant that Clint brought in his leather pants, leather jacket. Thank you, by the way, Clint for bringing that in. I forgot to thank you yesterday, but I think it really did make me look like a gay stripper. Well, that's because you double leathered. Like you went leather pants and leather jacket. I would recommend why.
Starting point is 00:05:38 or the other, if you're going to go out. It was weird because the pants he brought in, they were leather, but they had the Velcro down the side so you can bring them off. They were stripper pants. That's because Jason Durullo does wear double leather. I guess he can pull it off. And Dan was Williams up yesterday. You might see the photos up on our social media.
Starting point is 00:05:53 I wasn't. Daniel, you were. I did look at myself at one point and go, maybe this looks cool, but then I've seen the video and I can't pull it off. Like, there's no way. I look ridiculous. There's somebody that does disagree with you, Dan. Because you left a comment to,
Starting point is 00:06:07 to explain, since the video didn't explain it like I just did then, saying I was dressed like Jason DeRullo. I don't usually wear all leather. Yeah, because there was no explanation. There was no explanation. There was no explanation. And I was like, yeah, fair enough and it's got a few likes on that. But then I saw a comment underneath it that said,
Starting point is 00:06:27 At Dan Webby. I'm liking the leather. And then it's a little emoji, wink, tongue. Oh, hot. I would, honestly. Your mum left. it. Leave him.
Starting point is 00:06:47 Let him sit in it. Oh, it's processing. He's thinking about it more. Again, what was it again? I don't want to hear it again. I don't want to hear it again. At Dan Webby, I'm liking the leather. Winky tongue face. Okay, is that...
Starting point is 00:07:04 Mom! Is this moment... Is this... I'm your son. You gave birth to me. Is this moment right now... worse or not as bad is the time that we played that horrible game of Would You Rather with your mum? Look, Clint, the woman, I think
Starting point is 00:07:22 something's wrong with it. I think she might be, but might have been drunk again. She won't be happy with me because I'm doing a sexy voice and she goes, Megan, I did not, I can hear her now. I can hear her now. Did she leave the winking emoji? She did leave the winking tongue sticking out face emoji and then the lime crafting emoji. What is wrong with?
Starting point is 00:07:37 So she could have just said, I'm liking the leather. And I would have read it is that. And then she put the emoji in and I read it as I'm liking the leather. She knows what she's doing. For new callers, can I replay the world's worst would you run? If I say no, will it stop you from playing it? Well, it's more like what Meg thinks is appropriate
Starting point is 00:07:53 at this time of the day for our listeners. Oh yeah, it's absolutely appropriate. Because it is a terrible would you rather. We were playing this on the podcast and we were like, what is the worst would you rather question that exists? And we worked out what it was and we got your mum on Dan
Starting point is 00:08:08 and Meg asks your mum. I've blocked this out of my memory. Hi, Julie. Hi, Mom. It's just us. Hi. We've got a big question for you. Okay, Julie, would you rather have sex with Dan, but nobody knows it?
Starting point is 00:08:21 No. Or not have sex with Dan, but everybody thinks that you did. Oh, definitely the first one. Have sex with Dan. Goodbye, Mum. I definitely don't want to have sex with Dan. Oh, no, no, no. The first one was have sex with Dan.
Starting point is 00:08:38 Sorry. Oh, sorry. She would have said the wrong answer. I've already edited this, so it just ends with your mum take definitely the first one. Unfortunately, it was a table card and it was locked in. Honestly, can I just really make it clear? Our family is not incestuous in any way. Oh, well.
Starting point is 00:08:57 If it ever comes out, there were signs. She's getting a strongly worded message from me today saying, hey, if you've got to comment on things, don't make it sexual about your son. I love it. The spin-off Bridgeton show has been announced, which is going to be focused around the mum. Violet's love story with the, like, now the cease dad. So it will be a throwback.
Starting point is 00:09:21 But it's a spinoff series, so it's not Bridgeton. Name one good spin-off series. Ooh, ooh. Joey. Oh, no. So hard off the back of friends. No, no, no. I didn't mind it because I still wanted something.
Starting point is 00:09:33 Better call Saul off the back of breaking back. Yeah, that was all right. It wasn't as successful, though, as the original. I don't think there's ever been a spinoff that's been more successful. Text us 3, 3, 3, 4.3. If there's one we've forgotten about, we'd love to know. Puss and boots, no. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:53 And Celine Dion is looking amazing, performing incredibly with so much energy in life in her to the point that she was dancing so much, she slipped on stage. Easy. She's like, power through. Oh, who's going to be.
Starting point is 00:10:06 You want me. She's like, power through. Who would know? She misses like one or two words in it. That's crazy, eh? You can text fall to 3, 3, 3, 4, 3 to see it. And I only say that because it's such a great recovery. Like, it's, you know, that's such a professional.
Starting point is 00:10:21 Is she at the age where she has a fall now, is she? But she was also, yeah, I just think it's amazing to see her with such life in her. For 25 years, Sorted, has been helping New Zealanders make smarter money choices. Apparently now that she goes, she goes back to her hotel because she's got a residency in Paris, and she goes back to the hotel every night, obviously, and she gets out of the car. And there's now, like, thousands of people waiting outside the hotel. because they know that she gets out of the car and she goes and dances with them and stuff every night.
Starting point is 00:10:45 Oh, that'd be Dan. Yeah, it would be there every night. His wife would be like, no, we've been the last three nights, Daniel. It's the same thing. You stay at home then. The Edge just hits. In Auckland. The Edge.
Starting point is 00:10:56 Okay. We have the wheel of random yarns. We're going to spin it right now. And if you've got a story, you give us called 0800 the Edge, and we will pay you $100 for your story. We are looking for stories that are about weddings. Weddings. Weddings.
Starting point is 00:11:10 Yeah. Okay. So anything to do with weddings when you've been at your own? Maybe not making it to yours for whatever reason. Maybe there was something really awkward that happened at the wedding. Maybe the bride didn't show up. Maybe there was an argument between the father and the uncle. Might have been on married at first sight. Anything.
Starting point is 00:11:25 It's a very loose space you could call anything about a wedding. Clint McGinn, Dan. It's Breakfast. The Edge. First call of the day. First call on the day. Well, thanks for our mates at empty of your finance. We've got 100 bucks to give our first call of the day every morning till the end of the year.
Starting point is 00:11:38 How good? We spun the wheel of random yarns. It came up on weddings, and Maria has a story for us, boys. Morning, Maria. Good morning. In the beautiful Otahe Christchurch this morning. How is it down there this morning? Yeah, not too bad.
Starting point is 00:11:52 Can't complain. Okay. What happened at a wedding? Well, we were prepping for my cousin's wedding, and she had used our little rural property in the middle of nowhere, and we put up a bunch of marquees. Oh, yeah. in the paddock.
Starting point is 00:12:13 My brother and I had gone out for lunch with like set everything up or the glasses were in the tents and everything and we went out for lunch and came back and massive gust of wind. And all of a sudden my brother slammed on the
Starting point is 00:12:29 slam the car in the park and threw the door open and jumped over the fence and then the next sight I saw was him mid-ear holding on to one of the legs of the marquees. Has it blew away? It blew into one of the trees.
Starting point is 00:12:45 It was like a kite except He didn't surround the ground. He took flight. So was this his wedding? No, it wasn't even his wedding, was it? God, that's a dedicated man. I was like, yeah, if it was the groom, I can understand if he was like my wife. Kill me.
Starting point is 00:13:00 He was like some sort of like Marquis Mary Poppins type situation. Yeah. No, I think he had taken, we'd all taken hours. and hours of our morning, helping set up. So no way, was he going to let it be lost? Wow. Did they skimp on the marquee? Was it one of those Timu Jobbies?
Starting point is 00:13:17 Because normally they're pretty... No. No, it wasn't. But, like, you know, it really is in the middle of nowhere. And the weather can be pretty wild when it wants to be. Did you charge them a location fee? I wish. No.
Starting point is 00:13:32 Well, good on you. Well, that story and your brother's bravery... Yeah. Has won you $100. Oh, wicked. Happy Friday to me. Thank you guys. You're welcome. Please, get up early and listen. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:13:45 Yeah, your local money experts for business and personal finance, MTF. You've got to be careful with Marquis. Another one that's really risky is bouncy castles, eh? I know, that upsets me because obviously we've had some tragedies with that. Oh, yeah. You've got to, like, really drive those pegs into the ground. Yeah. Really drive them in.
Starting point is 00:14:02 Up next, Dan is looking after naughty 640. 11% of people have admitted to doing something highly illegal, but what is it? Yeah, there's a survey, yeah, an 11% it's actually very high for people to admit this. One in ten people are doing something illegal. It's not like speeding, isn't it?
Starting point is 00:14:20 No, it's not there. I would say it's probably not... I don't know, I think it's on par with speeding, but no one dies if you do it. Would you go to jail, get arrested? I think if you did something... Yeah, you would. Okay, you could get arrested?
Starting point is 00:14:32 A lot of people could get arrested for this. Place your bets, actually, Texas. See if you can crack it. 3343 on texts. We'll go there next. Listen live weekdays from Sex on Rover and catch up wherever. This is Clint, Meg and Dan. The Edge.
Starting point is 00:14:45 It's time to get naughty at 640. Now, not the sort of naughty we usually talk about. This is the illegal naughty. But there's been a large study done of 43,000 adults. So this is good, eh? That's a good survey size. Yeah, it is. And apparently 11.3% of people in the survey have admitted to shoplifting at one point in their life.
Starting point is 00:15:05 Which is illegal, isn't it? Very illegal. Depending on what you shoplift. And interestingly, some of the stats that go along with this 11.3%, it says that it often starts young around the age of 15, and then the people that start at the age of 15 stealing, quite a lot of them still continue into their adult life. Oh gosh, because they would have gone,
Starting point is 00:15:26 maybe it was a bit of a high, they would have gone away with them, well, that was easy and free. More than one third of the people that admitted that were shoplifters were men. So mainly women that do a lot of shoplifters. Interesting. And the other interesting fact about this is that shoplifting wasn't confined to disadvantaged people with, you know, like trouble backgrounds. It was mainly high-income earners that were admitting to shoplifting. Yeah, because there was that politician that was getting...
Starting point is 00:15:52 Goorries, Garaman. And she said it was like a sickness. And then I'm also watching this documentary, The Jinks, and this guy is like on the run from police and they've gotten a warrant out for his arrest for murder. and he ends up getting caught because he steals like a pinini from a supermarket and he's got $9,000 in cash on him when they arrest him and they ask him why do he steal and he goes he doesn't know So we're no-noraida she famously stole and then what was that Australian band that came and visited us in Queenstown
Starting point is 00:16:23 and they stole some like drink bottles or something crazy and they would have had enough money easily to buy a $50 drink bottle It's interesting I think it's some sort of thing in your brain that goes I've got the money but I'm not going to spend the money It's weird, isn't it? Maybe you do it once because you have to, and then when you realize you can get away with it and how easy it is for some people that you keep doing it. But for rich people, I don't really get it. I mean, I truly, I sit there and almost sometimes empathize with people who do it because they're truly just so poor and they just need something.
Starting point is 00:16:51 I get that and I know it's illegal, but it's something that I understand more than, you know, but it's rich people doing it. It feels weird. Oh, 800 of the Edge, Text 3343. Is anybody willing to admit that they've done a bit of shoplifting in their time? And we wouldn't ask you to do it if we didn't do it ourselves. We can keep you anonymous, and that's exactly what we're going to do with ourselves. We've all written down on a post-it note. If, first of all, we have shoplifted before.
Starting point is 00:17:14 And then, if we had, what have we shoplifted? So Mead's got all the things. Just make sure you keep it anonymous. You're doing it now? And then we'll go to your calls next. Okay. Nothing. The first one.
Starting point is 00:17:27 Okay. Well, that's a good person. It's good, well. It should actually be nothing five times. Yeah, it should be. If producers are in there? Yes. Exclamation mark.
Starting point is 00:17:39 Exclamation mark. Seems happy about it. A $50 prepay card and a PS4. We know who that is. Right, so moving on. Oh, to hell, that's bad. Pre-pay card. Did they sell them at the petrol station you used to work at?
Starting point is 00:17:52 You'd have to ask Carl. Next one is yes. Pens from work. That's not shoplifting. That's just using stationary at work. Meg loves rating the station recovery. Pats off. And gifts for friends.
Starting point is 00:18:05 from Disneyland. So that's the next one. That was me. That was me. We've all word about that. Wow, that is, wait, that's such a coincidence. Because I actually just got sent this. Mad, we know what you did.
Starting point is 00:18:20 Turns out the cruise wasn't the only free thing you got from Disney. Oh, it's Mickey Mouse. Still trying to get you. If you don't know the story, there's no, there's no excuse. But I was 19. I was very poor. and I thought in my head it's so terrible I stole a couple of $12 necklaces
Starting point is 00:18:38 to give to friends that they later did not like that I found out stole them because I thought you know what they wouldn't even notice the money I would never steal from a small business You know what Disney Plus were wanting to advertise with us recently They all came in, they will never now Disney must... Can we move on to the next one?
Starting point is 00:18:53 Disney must not know if they invited you on the cruise as a influence of Disney know that people can change and they can repent sorry aren't you the Christian of the show Clint right next one up Strawberry Primo. It's disgusting, really.
Starting point is 00:19:06 That's actually really bad. Just going into a shop and stealing. That's a shame. And another one that says no, never. So you know. Well, you know what? The good people that listen to this show have text through. Disgusting, ceiling.
Starting point is 00:19:16 And we're going to try and get some people on today. Livelihood of businesses and stuff. There's a lot of people stealing, some lot of untrustworthy people listening. Your favorite radio show? In Podcast 4. Edge Breakfast. Clint Meg and Dan. A study of just over 40,000 people revealed that 11% of people have people.
Starting point is 00:19:33 people have admitted to shoplifting in their life before. Yeah, which is, I think a lot of people are like, wow, that's quite high. Admitting to doing something illegal is quite, is quite high, isn't it? Yeah, would you say that's the only illegal thing that you've done before, Dan? Hmm.
Starting point is 00:19:49 When I have taken stuff, like I, yes, I admitted to taking a $50 prepay card when I used to work at BP. Right? Sue me. And the statute of limited... They could. Actually, please don't. No, but the statute of limitations is apparently,
Starting point is 00:20:03 according to this with shoplifting six years. Oh, my gosh, I'm free! So I don't know if that's true, but it seems too short. Surely it would depend on what you stole. Like if you stole a prepay car versus stealing a car, you think the duration would be longer or shorter depending on the crime. Okay, let's go to Emma.
Starting point is 00:20:23 Emma, what did you steal? Nauty girl? Good morning. How are you guys? Yeah, good Emma. Now you are you a thief? I like to think of myself as like Robin Hood for my flat, you know? That's how I, you know what, Emma, that's how I felt for my friends in Disneyland.
Starting point is 00:20:41 I kind of know what you mean. Okay, so what were you stealing from the rich and giving to the poor? So basically, we were all uni students, and we really loved having golden kiwi fruit with our breakfast every morning. But anyone who buys Kiwis know that golden Kiwis are like 10 times the price of green ones. So what I figured we could do is go through the South Scan and just put. our golden ones through as green ones. So we were getting like tens of golden kiwi fruits for a few bucks every week. It really got us through.
Starting point is 00:21:08 I didn't know there was that much difference between golden and green. And I also, we're suddenly not friends anymore. You think golden are better than green? Oh my God, of course. The green ones are so pretty much. The taste. Much nicer, sweeter. And I think you'll find, Emma, that a lot of people would be doing similar things to you
Starting point is 00:21:25 and if the self-checkouts. Like, you know, the pick and mix and all those things, like putting normal almonds to us tamari or something, you know. Well, now they have the cameras. You wouldn't be able to get away with it now, you may. Oh, Redix is going to say there's no way one person can watch all 10. No, they've got cameras above now. Above your hands and they've got AI technology ruining the world.
Starting point is 00:21:41 Bloody AI, hey, piss off. Who would have thought this would be the topic that it gets someone out of the woodwork for the very first time? First time caller. Why, hello, Ivan? Yvonne. Yvonne. That's how it's about. I don't know either.
Starting point is 00:21:57 Yeah, yeah. Sometimes you wonder about it. Don't you, Evan. I would say Yvon is E-V-O-N-E. Anyway, well, it's a Y. Why? Yeah, why. Okay, so everyone's wrong.
Starting point is 00:22:11 Anyway, what did you do when you stopped? Not everyone, I'm right. Well, I went to, um, we had a, um, like a shop just through the alleyway, and I stole, um, a bird belt. A bird belt? A bird. Why'd you do it? What were you doing, Evan? Although my, my friend, um, Haley used to like to snack on them, so I,
Starting point is 00:22:30 I kind of get it. Was it for that? Hold on, sorry, Yvonne. Your friend used to, what? Snack on them? On a bird bell? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:38 We used to get them all. Oh, yeah? Yeah. There you go. The ones that you can hang out in the cages in there. Yeah, I sold it. And even to the stay, I feel so guilty. And I'm 61 years old.
Starting point is 00:22:50 Oh, bless you, Yvonne. Did you eat it? I'm more concerned about Meg being friends with a toui. Like, what was going on there? Wait, did you eat it, Yvonne? No, no. I just wanted it and to think to see if I can get away. with it. Oh, you did it
Starting point is 00:23:02 to, like, he's a test. Wow. And was that like a gateway upon to like, you know, something else? Like you stole the birdbell now you're stealing cars. You do a meth. No, I'm not stealing anything now. Okay, well, good on you, you try. She didn't say anything about the meth, though.
Starting point is 00:23:18 She doesn't know of the meth. Jason sticks for saying he used to steal toilet paper as a teen working full time just to save a bit of cash. And, well, farmers, someone used to, at high school, their friends used to shop from farmers and steel underwear. Oh, I'd love to know if they're from Lower Heart. That was the thing in Lower Heart.
Starting point is 00:23:35 It can't have been a Red Dock Stale because that's almost a steel in itself. Yeah, maybe that's what they mean. They just bought them from the Red Dock Sal. It feels like shoplifting. The prices are just so low. Easy money. $1,000 on the line. Let's play Easy Money.
Starting point is 00:23:52 10 answers in 30 seconds. That's what we need with no repeated answers. Lucy from the day show plays easier money. Every day you can squeeze out $50 cash. And then you get to pick the next day's. letter, this is what was chosen. What letter are you picking for the breakfast show to use tomorrow between E and Z? What you got for me?
Starting point is 00:24:08 The letter S. And we had S actually at 8 a.m. yesterday. It's a popular choice. That was nearly one, wasn't it? It was so close. Damn. Yeah, this is a highlight actually from yesterday. Something in the pantry. Sugar. Something you tie. Shula.
Starting point is 00:24:24 A type of bread. Sugar, though. One of the seven dwarfs. Sleepy. A director. We have so much time. as well. That's what's so painful about it is that there was plenty of time to get
Starting point is 00:24:38 Stephen Spielberg and let's see if Nate can do it. Letter is S, Nate, you ready? Yep. Good luck, Nate. The nation is behind you. Okay. He's a drain layer, so this is probably only an hour's wages for you, mate, thousand bucks. Good luck. Cheers, man.
Starting point is 00:24:55 Okay. Give me something you have for breakfast. Sandwich. A body part. Shoulder. A country. Spain Something you see at a beach Sand
Starting point is 00:25:09 An item of clothing A four-letter word Shit An occupation Swimmer Something you see at a school School kids A film title
Starting point is 00:25:23 Sopranos A dog breed Spanian He got through all 10 Oh I don't know Is it a partner Is a movie? No it's a TV show
Starting point is 00:25:39 I'm going to Google if there's a movie called Sopranos. Okay, here we go, here we go, here we go. Oh my gosh. Stay there, night. Yeah. Okay. If you need more time, Dan. I'm just having a look.
Starting point is 00:25:54 Okay, because we've got a couple of question marks on your run, Nate. We can't be that tough on this. Well, I think the rules, unfortunately. Okay, okay. Let's just, because it wasn't a perfect clean run, but it still could be. Let's just go to one song. Check it properly and see if you're $1,000 richer or not after this. This is the Clint McGee and Dan catch up.
Starting point is 00:26:17 Want to hear the guys off here and a little looser? Listen and watch their Overthinkers podcast. Five past seven, Clint McGon Dan. Oh, sorry, that's not the one that I wanted. I want, oh, bugger it. Who cares, let's go here because... Hey, mate, don't tell us your shoes. Easy money was completed in the 30-second time frame,
Starting point is 00:26:39 but were the answers correct? There were a couple of question marks on the last two. We got Nate from Chryshoots, Drain Lauer, hoping that he's got a thousand bucks. Now, Nate, first off the bat, can we just say an incredible run for you? It was very fast. You had a lot of time in hand. There was just a couple of questions that we need to look into. First step, what was the dog breed?
Starting point is 00:27:00 Spanian. That's what we thought you said. I've got it here. A dog breed. Yeah. Spanian. Spanian. I think you're meaning.
Starting point is 00:27:09 Spaniel. So there was a little question mark on that one for us. But the big question mark was... I think the full name is a Caucasian. Cocker Spaniel. And then there was a question mark on a film title. Dan has the answer on that one. So there is no film known as Sopranos.
Starting point is 00:27:31 There is a TV show, which is not a film. Let's be honest. We have to be stickless to the rules because we have to be fair. There is a spin-off. of The Sopranos, which was made into a movie. But that film is called The Mary Saints of Newark. The film titles we had were Shrek, Star Wars, Scream, or Silver Linens playbook is some options.
Starting point is 00:27:52 So with that in line, Nate. We've gone to the video referee and he's come back, no try. Yeah, I'm so sorry. Oh, just like the Warriors, eh? Just like the Warriors, Nate. And you know what? We would love to give it to you and we really want to give this $1,000 away. Why don't we do this, Nate?
Starting point is 00:28:07 Why don't we next week We'll give you a chance at redemption somewhere Yeah, mate, I'll roast it Okay, cool We'll fast pass you through on here It's seven or eight sometime next week And give you another crack at it Like a do-over
Starting point is 00:28:21 Oh my, mate, cheers Thanks, thanks, Nate Yeah, that's the best we can do it In the end, two answers were, unfortunately, Increate And I see what happened It feels horrible Don't think that we enjoy doing that
Starting point is 00:28:33 That was painful I just don't want the meetings From the boss after the show on a Friday. You know the Spanian thing? I can see how that happens when you're in the heat of the moment. You just go Spanian and... Spanian.
Starting point is 00:28:43 I know, and that's why we were like, just double-checking because if he said Span-Dil that second time, I was like, well... All right, next on the show, your last chance to get yourself in the draw to win tickets to Olivia Dean. This is Clint McG and Dan's, Olivia Dean's nice to each other. We'll give away the tickets after 8 o'clock this morning, but let's be nice to each other next. Yeah, you just, it's meg's idea, you just have to be nice to one of us. Just a compliment to Meg. No.
Starting point is 00:29:06 Anyone on the team? And then it would just be a legitimate random draw at 8 o'clock. Because picking the best compliment is just so wicky. It's not what we're going to do. You could call up and just say, Dan, you're one of the hottest people I've ever seen.
Starting point is 00:29:18 Anything like that. Any sort of compliment gets you in the drawer and then it's a random draw of who wins. And I would agree with you as well if you said that about Dan. But then we'd both be liars. I don't even get that joke. You can't kick down, Clint.
Starting point is 00:29:33 Yeah. When you're really hot, you can't say. Oh, sorry. This is Clint McG & Dan's Olivia Dean's Nice to each other Could be anything Could be a compliment to Meg Could be a compliment to Clint
Starting point is 00:29:45 Although you can do one of those backhanded ones as well Where you maybe compliment Meg And then give Clint her eye a bit of shade Yeah, we'll do that way around It's up to you You will go into a random draw That we'll do at 8 o'clock this morning And if you're nice to each other
Starting point is 00:29:59 Compliment is chosen You'll go to Olivia Dean In like less than it's like a week and a half away At Western Spring is completely sold out The only way you're going to get there now is if you win tickets. Friends of mine that are going are like, are you going? I was like, no. And they're like, surely you can get tickets?
Starting point is 00:30:13 And I'm like, no, we give all hours away. Okay. Yeah, we do indeed. And this is going to be a random draw when we do this. We thought about it. And we're like, it just, it feels a key to be picking your own sort of compliments. And Meg was only choosing her own. And so we were like, not the case.
Starting point is 00:30:28 Not the case. All right, let's go to the phones. Good morning, Chloe, to get into the drawer to Olivia Dean. Who are you giving a compliment to it this morning? I'm giving you a compliment to Meg Of course Why do you always go to your one's first meet? It's her idea
Starting point is 00:30:41 So it only fear that she gets the first compliment What would you like to say to Meg that's lovely? I think Meg has a beautiful energy Every time I'm driving to work I think she's really lovely Oh wow so she must hide it really well then Honestly The thing is it doesn't stop when the microphones turn off
Starting point is 00:30:59 I get this constantly I actually do think my patience is one of the most amazing things about me. It's the patience I have with you too. Hey, Chloe, you're in the draw. That is actually really good. It makes you gorgeous. 8 a.m. this morning, we could be calling you with the good news.
Starting point is 00:31:12 You're going to Olivia Dean. So make sure you're listening after eight, right? Thank you. You're welcome, Chloe. Richie has a compliment. Who is it for, Richie? That is for Daniel. Oh, Daniel.
Starting point is 00:31:24 Oh, Daniel. I only get called Daniel when I'm in trouble. You're not in trouble. You are definitely not in trouble. You are hilarious. You are funny. You are smart. And not only that, but there's no one, no one
Starting point is 00:31:37 who can hit the spot better than Dan Weber. No one. We've been talking to his wife. We see we'd never talk about that night we had together, Richie. Yeah, that's what I thought. Richie, you're in the drawer. I like a bit of bromance. That's nice.
Starting point is 00:31:49 That is lovely. Thanks, Richie. Uh, Seidel? Hello. Hello. Who's your compliment for this morning to get in the drawer? Good morning. My compliment is for Clint.
Starting point is 00:32:00 because I am obsessed with Clint and his daughter on social media and watch all their music videos that they redo and yeah it's just so heartwarming to see that relationship so that's my compliment for you Clint Thanks babe I'm obsessed with her too I was talking to her last night said Who's your best friend?
Starting point is 00:32:17 Before we go to bed who's your best friend? She goes, you are? I was like no you're saying it like I'm making you say She goes no I'll have lots of best friends I was like well that's cool but I want to be Number one best friend Yeah and she goes dad you'll always be my best friend Oh that's sweet to mum
Starting point is 00:32:30 Yeah, poor Joe. I think she goes in after Clinton, she says he's... Yeah, yeah, okay, no, no. Thanks, Adele. Well, let's do one final one. To get in the drawer to Olivia, Dean, Christine, what is your... Or Kirstein, sorry. What is your...
Starting point is 00:32:42 Who's your compliment for? My compliment's for you, Meg. Because you're just... Manawaheheni, eh? Like, you're always putting up with those two. I am. Oh, yeah. Fair enough.
Starting point is 00:32:53 Thank you. And you do a really good job at doing that, so... Thank you. Manahehani no, all the way, eh, Meg. Thank you very much. I really appreciate that. It's so... And your name's very unique. It's a Christine?
Starting point is 00:33:07 I feel like your mum couldn't decide between Kirstie and Christine and just mix them. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Lots of people say Kirstie, Christine, but, you know, there's no why in my name. I've got double E's. No, Kirsteen is a very unique name. Well, there we go. This has been lovely this week, hasn't it?
Starting point is 00:33:26 It's been sufficiently narcissistic. Thank you. Yeah, that is done. We will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever. do this again. If you're sitting there going, this is really cringe, guys. Don't worry.
Starting point is 00:33:34 I'm glad you've come to that realisation because Clinton and I did say that in the email when you came up with the idea. All of her ideas are really like inward. You guys, honestly, there will be people that don't know that you're joking. And it drives me up. We're not joking.
Starting point is 00:33:47 Oh, that is it. No! Because it's the truth. Okay, right. What's the next? Producer's diaries? 8 a.m. this morning. If you're in the draw for that one,
Starting point is 00:33:54 make sure you're listening, because you could be the one winning Olivia Dean tickets. Yeah, the producer diary next, where Meg plays some of her best bits. Yeah. Let's get all of me's best bits and show you how good she really is next. Get your Clint Meg and Dan Fax. Shout out to our show sponsor, MTF Finance, your local money experts for personal and business finance.
Starting point is 00:34:15 Ready to get into the highlights of this week, team? I would love to. Nothing more than to do that. Let's see who comes out unscathed and who doesn't. Giday, it's Brady. Clint Meg and Dan are back from their holiday, so that means producer diary is returning. The week started off with a caller. needing a voice disguiser to tell us what their favourite biscuit was. I'm with Dan and see with the margarine and the super wine. That's elite.
Starting point is 00:34:38 It's super wine. So good. Super wine. Clint Meg and Dan then got talking about Dakota Johnson and her exes after her SNL monologue. So who are the musicians that she's dated? Chris Martin from Colplay? They were together for a while. They were together for a very long time.
Starting point is 00:34:52 She wouldn't be with Chris Martin for six years if he was no good. He'd be a bit of a depressing lay, wouldn't he? What'd you mean he'd be depressed? I think it'd be very emotional. Did not it, Dan? I've never thought about what it would be like to have sex with a man. Oh, yeah, do you think about his music? Yeah, I think that'd be lovely.
Starting point is 00:35:09 You know your best, but you don't succeed. I mean, come on, Chris, put a bit of back and do it, mate, would you? Oh, you would like that, would you? And now it's time for some Clint, Meg and Dan out of context. I just not want to be in a thruple with my mum. That's the last time we finish on Hayden. It's had a good three seconds of fun. I like to just do one finger.
Starting point is 00:35:27 I can't do horses. And open relationships. have been in the news this week. I mean, I guess it could count swinging. I went over to Clint's house once to put my keys in a bowl. Big mistake. Have you ever wondered why he has that bowl at his front door? You lie, Dan.
Starting point is 00:35:39 You just ended up delivering drinks to everyone most of the day. Yeah, I was on drinks. I was on the parades. We then got Christine Clint's mum on the line for a let's settle this after Clint revealed him been sleeping in his mum's bed while on holiday. So it's totally fine, obviously, for your son to sleep in your bed when you're away.
Starting point is 00:35:56 Oh, of course it is. I was glad they did and they enjoyed it. They might not want to sleep in it again if they knew what's been going on in there. Exactly my point. Instagram celebrated it something year anniversary this week. Don't know how many years. Can't be going back.
Starting point is 00:36:13 And Dan got condiments mixed up with filters. We'll do an Instagram Hall of Fame or Hall of Shame depending on... It all just going to be photos of like landscapes. Yeah, landscapes. With a bit of vignette on it. Isn't vignette something you'd put on a salad? That's very great.
Starting point is 00:36:26 You've been giving Clint Megan Dan compliments all week to try and win yourselves some Olivia Dean tickets and I think Michelle came in with the most savage one yet. Yeah, so Dan, he totally has an amazing voice and the hit the spot is my favourite, but also a little anti-and-good compliment for the rest
Starting point is 00:36:42 of you is Clint, you're the least funny. So the other tour way funnier. That'll explain why I couldn't find too many more Clint bits for this diary. Cheers, Michelle. And Dan seems to know a lot about the Curiosity rover. On this day in 2012, Meg, the
Starting point is 00:36:58 Curiosity rover landed on Mars. Wow. What did it do, Dan? Well, it was doing like obviously digging and stuff. Yeah, digging and stuff. And I guess reading the atmosphere and shit. But do you know, like, hit the spot, made its return. Jason Derulo edition.
Starting point is 00:37:15 I wrote this song just looking at you. Oh, oh. Yeah, the drums they swing low. And the trumpets, there you go. Put up for producers diary this week. Have a good weekend, you bloody legends, and we'll catch us back on Monday. Pretty crappy diary, but do keep in mind,
Starting point is 00:37:52 the producer Brady is new in the job. He's still in too. He's only like four months in or something. Yeah, do better, would you? Yeah, yeah. Anyway, we'll talk to you, Cliff. We'll give him another week. Yeah, thank you, mate.
Starting point is 00:38:02 Coming up 8 o'clock this morning, Olivia Dean tickets to give away. Also, still that thousand bucks on the line. He had a controversial one at seven. Nate got through all 10. But unfortunately one of his answers wasn't correct. In the meantime... Coming up in scandal headlines.
Starting point is 00:38:18 Lady Whistledown from Bridgeton has another announcement and who had a slip on stage with a great recovery. Idiotia! We've got all the gas of scandal. Lady Whistledown from Bridgeton has another announcement for us. She has a new spin-off show that is going to be focused on Violet, which is the mum. Her love story with the dad who is deceased.
Starting point is 00:38:39 I'd love to know what percentage of die-hard fans of an... original show follow a spin-off? Yeah. Less than half. I mean, I know sometimes when you open the comments, because obviously I always try and get kind of read on what people like, and the comments can either be really scathing or really supportive. You have to normally
Starting point is 00:38:55 scroll to get past all the ones that have been liked by the poster. Lots of people excited for this. I think there's a lot of love for Violet, the mum, and we don't know anything about her love story and how she became the mum that she is because we never met the dad. So, you know, it could be good. Okay, yeah. I just lost it after the first season for
Starting point is 00:39:11 Bridgeton. Oh really? I love the first season because it's not my usual cup of tea. I find a really easy watch and I love an easy watch these days because I barely watch Talley. Celine Dion looking amazing,
Starting point is 00:39:22 performing incredibly and she was had dancing so much she had a little slip on stage. It's the most graceful slipover I've ever seen. She's wearing like real big high heels. She sort of slips and falls down but then like gets back up straight away
Starting point is 00:39:39 misses like two lines. You would say that. Did he find that story for you? No, Meg found it. I found it. Oh, wow. You normally have alerts on Celine Dion. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:39:46 I mean, I had seen it. Yeah. Obviously. Text the word fall to 3343. If you'd like to see a great recovery. Because I think she does a great job. She's at the age that it is a fall now, eh? Same with Clint.
Starting point is 00:39:57 58. Sorted, celebrating 25 years as your trusted free guide for all things money. The Edge. Just hits. In Auckland. The Edge. Clint Megan Dan. All right, new music Fridays up next.
Starting point is 00:40:09 Who's dropping new tracks today? We are going to be getting a new track from T-McCray, but still no T, still no release. So we'll be coming up. That's the one where she's pushing a wheelbarrow around, Meg, your words yesterday. Yeah, I came in this morning to talk to the boys. I was like, oh, you know, what does it mean? She's pushing a wheelbar of money.
Starting point is 00:40:26 I look back again, it's a pram. Yeah, very different. And that is why I put Miller around for who walks in a wheelbar. I get them confused. Take the edge of your day with Clint Meg and Dan. This is Clint McGon Dan's Olivia Day. Nice to each other Could be anything
Starting point is 00:40:43 Could be a compliment to Meg Could be a compliment to Clint Although you can do one of those Backhanded ones as well Where you maybe compliment Meg And then give Clint her eye a bit of shade Yeah, I'll do the way around It's up to you
Starting point is 00:40:54 You will go into a random draw That we'll do at 8 o'clock this morning And if you're nice to each other Compliment is chosen You'll go to Olivia Dean In like Lester It's like a week and a half away At Western Springs
Starting point is 00:41:06 It's completely sold out The only way you're going to get there now Is if you win tickets friends of mine that are going are like, are you going? I was like, no. And they're like, surely you can get tickets. And I'm like, no, we give all ours away. Okay. Yeah, we do indeed.
Starting point is 00:41:17 And this is going to be a random draw when we do this. We thought about it. And it feels a key to be picking your own sort of compliments. And Meg was only choosing her own. And so we were like, not the case. Not the case. All right, let's go to the phones. Good morning, Chloe, to get into the drawer to Olivia Dean.
Starting point is 00:41:34 Who are you giving a compliment to this morning? I'm giving a compliment to Meg. Of course. Why do you always go to your one's first meet? It's her idea, so it only fair that comes in me off. What would you like to say to Meg that's lovely? I think Meek has a beautiful energy every time I'm driving to work. I think she's really lovely. Oh wow, so she must hide it really well then.
Starting point is 00:41:56 Honestly, the thing is it doesn't stop when the microphones turn off. I get this constantly. I actually do think my patience is one of the most amazing things about me. Yeah. It's the patience I have with you too. That is actually really good. It makes you gorgeous. 8 a.m. this morning, we could be calling you
Starting point is 00:42:12 with the good news you're going to Olivia Dean. So make sure you're listening after 8, right? Thank you. You're welcome, Chloe. Richie has a compliment. Who is it for, Richie? That is for Daniel. Oh, Daniel.
Starting point is 00:42:25 Oh, Daniel. I only get called Daniel when I'm in trouble. You're not in trouble. You are definitely not in trouble. You are hilarious. You are funny. You are smart. And not only that, but there's no one.
Starting point is 00:42:37 No one. who can hit the spot better than Dan Webb. Oh, yeah. No one. Talking to his wife. We see we'd never talk about that night we had together, Richie. Yeah, that's what I thought. Richie, you're in the door.
Starting point is 00:42:48 I like a bit of bromance. That's nice. That is lovely. Thanks, Richie. Uh, Seidel? Hello. Hello. Who's your compliment for this morning to get in the drawer?
Starting point is 00:42:58 Good morning. Good morning. My compliment is for Clint. Oh. Because I am obsessed with Clint and his daughter on social media and watch all this music videos. that they redo and yeah it's just so heartwarming to see that relationship
Starting point is 00:43:12 so that's my compliment for you Clint thanks babe I'm obsessed with her too I was talking to her last night said who's your best friend before we go to bed who's your best friend she goes you are I was like no you're saying it like I'm making you say she goes no I'll have lots of best friends I was like well that's cool but I want to be number one best friend yeah and she goes dad you'll always be my best friend
Starting point is 00:43:30 oh that's sad to mum yeah poor Joe I think he she goes and after Clint and she says he she's a sister yeah yeah yeah yeah okay no special one she said well let's do one finder one to get in the drawer to Olivia Dean, Christine. What is your, or Kirstein, sorry. What is your, who's your compliment for? My compliment for you, Meg. Because you're just, manawaheheny, eh? Like, you're always, you're always putting up with those two. I am. Fair enough, Kirste. And you do a really good job at doing that. So, thank you.
Starting point is 00:43:59 Manawahehani all the way, eh, Meg? You're awesome. Thank you very much. I really appreciate that. It's so... And your name's very unique. It's a Kirstie? I feel like your mom couldn't decide between Kirsty and Christine and just mix them. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:14 Like, lots of people say Kirsty, Christine, but, you know, there's no why in my name. I've got double E's. No, Christine is a very unique name. Well, there we go. This has been lovely this week, hasn't it? It's been sufficiently narcissistic. Thank you. Yeah, that is done.

You guys, honestly, there will be people that don't know that you're joking. And it drives me up the ball.
Starting point is 00:44:48 We're not joking. Okay. What's next? Producers diaries? 8 a.m this morning. If you're in the draw for that one, make sure you're listening. Because you could be the one winning Olivia Dean tickets. Listen to your favorite breakfast show whenever you like. Clint Meg and Dan. The Edge. Starting point is 00:48:24 Yeah the drums they swing low And the trumpets they go What's that? What's up for producer's diary this week Have a good weekend you bloody legend and we'll catch us back on Monday. Pretty crappy diary, but do keep in mind, the producer Brady is new in the job.
Starting point is 00:48:56 He's still in too. He's only like four months in or something. Yeah, do better, would you? Yeah, yeah. So anyway, we'll give him another week. Yeah, thank you, mate. Coming up 8 o'clock this morning, Olivia Dean tickets to give away.
Starting point is 00:49:08 Also, still that thousand bucks on the line. He had a controversial one at seven. Nate got through all 10, but unfortunately one of his answers wasn't correct. Yeah, in the meantime... The Edge is the Home of Clare. and Meg and Dan Edge
Starting point is 00:49:21 Hello Jeannie We have Jeannie in this morning She is the owner of Shortlist dating which is a matchmaking website And for people that are just learning about this What's it different Jeannie to say Hinge or Tinder? Good morning I'm so excited to be here So we are old school matchmaking
Starting point is 00:49:41 So no app No photos shared Just really beautifully written profiles I know No photos? Yeah it's crazy Because we want to get away from the way The apps are working right
Starting point is 00:49:52 But like love is blind. Exactly. So I have the privilege of seeing what everybody looks like. Do you find, very quickly, before we get into what we want to talk to you about today, do you find, though, that some people think they're, say, a nine, but they're actually standardised about a six. And then you match them with somebody who is also maybe a six. And then they were like, whoa, you know, is that hard?
Starting point is 00:50:13 Oh, it's so hard. Yeah. I constantly have it where guys think that only fans' models are what they're going to achieve for a relationship. And you're like, well, no, it needs. to be interest and values based. Yeah. And like, sure, you might snag a hottie, but...
Starting point is 00:50:27 In the Settler-Reacher game, who's reaching more? Women or men? Oh, men. Surely. Men are reaching for hotter people than they are more. Yeah, I had a guy sent reference photos through to me the other day. And I... Of what he's into, his type.
Starting point is 00:50:42 Yeah, and honestly, I had a really unprofessional reaction. I literally went back saying, you're dreaming. And it was fine because he was a friend. but he's taken big offence to it How do you In a nice way though How do you tell someone That they need to bring their
Starting point is 00:50:58 Expectations down We go through the exercise Right And basically it is a little bit of learning for yourself Yeah It's like you can't I'm not the one to say that I can't pass judgment
Starting point is 00:51:08 Or someone for the way they look And you know There might be a really amazing connection Between those two people And one is more open-minded than the other Yeah Wow that's so fascinating Yeah
Starting point is 00:51:19 Now before we're get into life after rejection and how you get back on the dating apps and how you make a great bio. Is it true that you got dumped? Let's unpack my trauma. Yeah, after two and a half years in a very heartbreaking way. Yes, so it was COVID at the time, which was really a tough time for everyone. And I had a really beautiful partner. I felt we were very happy together. So lockdown but not living together? Yeah, with our families. Oh yeah. Yeah. And I just changed jobs at the time and thinking about our future and moving in together. And then unfortunately, I received an email, subject line.
Starting point is 00:52:00 So I've been thinking. Oh, God. Yaki get your heart would have dropped. Yeah, it was like, it really broke me. So every morning for a year, I woke up at 5 a.m. crying. Go to the train station. We'd see each other at the train station. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:52:13 It gets worse. He tried to hook up with them my friends on Tinder. Oh, my God. And it was so hard because there was like no. closure. Yeah, you're not getting away. Yeah, and then a couple of years later, when everything kind of opened up again, we were at work events night.
Starting point is 00:52:28 And it was the first time that we got to see each other face to face. And he was working for my previous company, which was all my old colleagues who knew us as a couple. And all of my colleagues knew, because, you know, like, I'm a bit of motor mouth, to tell everyone my dirty laundry. And we were at this event and I was like, I'm going to do it. I'm going to go and talk to him. And they're like, no, you can't.
Starting point is 00:52:46 You can't do that. You can't do that. And I was like, nope, I'm doing it. So I went up to him. And I tapped him on the shoulder. just said, I just have to say, thank you so much for what you did to me. It was really hard, but you changed my life for the better. And look, Graham now.
Starting point is 00:52:57 Wow. Oh, my God. You get a girlfriend. He would have turned around and he will, because I think he's a, you know, what's the word, a bit of a pussy. But like, he would have been turned around and seen you. And then he would have been shaking on his little bit, saying, the confrontation. He's, like, six foot toe, like a giant.
Starting point is 00:53:13 Wow. It was one of those. Two and a half year relationship had broken up by email. That's so weird, right? Man. If you've ever been rejected or you've been dumped and you're like, how do I get back on the horse? Jenny has the tips on what you need to do and how to make an incredible bio for the next person who might be your forever. Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:53:33 Next on the edge. Get you Clint McGinn to Dan Fax. The edge. Hello, Jeannie. We have Jeannie in from Shortlist Dadeen who runs a matchmaking website. You can text with a date to 3343 by the way if you want to get the link and get match made by our Jeannie. and we're going to be talking about bios. Yes.
Starting point is 00:53:53 Yeah, what makes a good bio versus a terrible one. First of all, write something. So many people don't even bother. They don't bother writing a bio these days? Especially on Tinder. They just upload the pictures. But Hinge, you have to. So it's all about those clever prompts
Starting point is 00:54:07 and you need to use them to your advantage. What's more important? The photos or the text. Both. Women love reading. Yes, I was my thing. We want the more detail the better. The guys just want the hot picks.
Starting point is 00:54:18 Yeah, yeah. But it's definitely a balancing act. And the more that you share, the more you're going to get genuine matches because you're forming that deeper level of connection. So be funny, or if you're not naturally funny, just share things that you're interested in. I thought you were going to say, if you're not naturally funny, give it to your funny friend and they can write it.
Starting point is 00:54:34 Honestly, a peer review is amazing. Our producer Brady, I'd imagine he's the only one that's on Tinder or Bumble because we're all hitched up. Unless one of us is secretly doing a bit of a scroll. And Brady's a cute. I'd like to look at his... Yeah, hi, Brady. What's sort of pictures of you?
Starting point is 00:54:50 Give us your first two photos that you can see. I've got different pictures on like Hinge and Tinder. My profile's different. Okay, that's good. We've got like a full body photo of me standing up. Oh yeah, you're just standing there? Yeah, I've got like another full frontal photo of me drinking a beer. Full frontal?
Starting point is 00:55:09 Yeah, like that. Oh, that doesn't look like you. I'll be disappointed of you two now. You're a Southland boy and I know you love a bit of hunting every now, man. Any hunting picks? Polarizing. Yeah, there is one. Oh my God.
Starting point is 00:55:23 And that would be... Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. See, that's a little bit polarizing. You know, girls can go either way on that one. Brady, do you put that up so that you can... Is that your icebreaker to be like, I want people to know that I'm into hunting if I have a girl like me, like a vegetarian, like a vegetarian. Like, we wouldn't get along.
Starting point is 00:55:38 Yeah, I probably couldn't get along with a vegetarian that well, like in terms of dating. Yeah, that's kind of why I have it because it does show my hobby. Like, it's one of my interests. Yeah, nice. And if something you're passionate about, it is very important to lead with that. Jeannie, how old do you go when you upload photos? Because I remember back to my days where I found my wife on Bumble many years ago when the apps were, I guess, more trustworthy. I had photos on there like five, six years old.
Starting point is 00:56:03 So she was probably expecting. Alegal. Half a decade. Maybe it's more prevalent for women that want to look a bit younger, maybe. I don't know. And I'd be careful about how much you expose of yourself to in terms of like, especially for women. Like if you're uploading all those bikini pictures or looking like an only one. fans model, you're going to
Starting point is 00:56:21 attract a certain audience of what's after you for the goods. So just keep that in mind. Attract is attracting like. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Be safe. Where you're your turtlenecks? Yeah, until you until you're till the third day and then go actually.
Starting point is 00:56:35 Yeah, surprise them. One more question about the photos before we go. How many people can you have in your photos? Because I remember when I was smelling, sometimes with girls you'd be like, which one are you? Yeah, definitely not bad. It needs to be very clear who you are and also not too many pictures with sunglasses. You want to be able to get to see someone's eyes, right?
Starting point is 00:56:53 Because that's where the warmth and the kindness is coming from. Thank you, Jeannie. I love Jeannie. Next time we catch up with you, we'll find out what DMs actually get cut through and turn messaging into like real-life dates. Oh, that's a good one. All right. Otherwise, check out the matchmaking website Shortlist Dating,
Starting point is 00:57:08 if you would like, I'll love Jenny to match you up with somebody. And text date to 3343, and I'll send you the link. Here to help. Coming up on the eat to breakfast. Thousand bucks with easy money. 800th edge if you want to crack it at 90 seconds. Easy money. Clint. Time.
Starting point is 00:57:26 You ready, Bergen? And Dan. Oh my God. Easy money. Just gone 8 o'clock. Your letter this morning was chosen yesterday with Lucy on the day show. It happens every day actually. You get easy. 50 bucks with easier money and then you get to choose the next day's letter. Well, Alito, are you going for the breakfast
Starting point is 00:57:41 show to use tomorrow at 8 a.m. when they play easy money. We're going to have G for the girls. G for the girls. Hell yeah. It is G and Kat is playing. She actually came in and played easy money. when we did it live and she wants some redemption. Oh, morning, Kat. Hello?
Starting point is 00:57:56 That was a nerve-wracking day, wasn't it? We played it live in a studio and everybody was there and we did it until someone won. It was like a game show. There was $10,000 on the line and you all got to kind of watch each other. It would have been petrified. It was very scary. Yeah, I remember walking into the room when everybody was waiting to do it and there was just, you could cut the fear with a knife.
Starting point is 00:58:16 Caitlin, Africa ended up taking away the $10,000 that day. But let's see if we can get a grand... I've seen it so good. Oh, she was amazing. She actually passed twice and had time to go back and then clean them up. So it can be done, Kat. 30 chickens on the clock, no repeated answers. Let's see if you can get it done.
Starting point is 00:58:33 Letter is G. Ok, do you ready? G. G. Yeah. Okay. Give me a colour. Green.
Starting point is 00:58:40 A body part. Blue is nextmas. A part of the house. Glass door. A sport. Something you find in the kitchen. Greater. A three-liter word.
Starting point is 00:58:57 Something you wear. A website. Pass. A video game. Time, cat. You actually could have made that. It was the website that got you in the end. Google is what we had for a website.
Starting point is 00:59:18 Gmail. Gmail or Google. Glassens as you want to do shopping. And then the other one that you were slow on, but I think you did pretty well, Gluteus Maximus, that would have worked. Yeah. I think you had a flow on there for a while, but there was a couple of moments we took a lot.
Starting point is 00:59:32 a while to answer. Okay, let's see if you would have got it. Would you have got it at a video game? It would have been a golfing. Golf simulator or something you might have passed a bag. And then a mythical creature or character. Oh, might have missed a name. That's good.
Starting point is 00:59:51 We're genie, gargoyle or no, my guess. Oh, well done. Yes, of course. No redemption today, Cat. You're going to have to spend your own money this weekend, Kat. Thanks for playing, babe. Back again next week, seven and eights, if you think you can. it done. Right.
Starting point is 01:00:07 Do you want to catch you in what, next weekend? Is that close? Yeah, you have to win tickets because it's completely sold out about 30 plus 30, 40,000 at Western Springs. You had to call us and give us a compliment, which was rough.
Starting point is 01:00:24 Rough week. No, you loved it, Meg, let's be honest. You're either someone that really struggles to take a compliment or you love them. Someone that gave us a compliment this week is literally next going to win. Some of the hot, in fact, the hottest tickets in the country. Clint Meg and Dan. The Edge Breakfast.
Starting point is 01:00:42 Obviously, she's got a track called Nice to each other. You can see how Meg made the jump from that to compliment us on the show this week. It's definitely not my idea. I think a lot of Kiwis have this kind of issue with accepting compliments. Yeah, I think as a country, we do need to be better. Yeah, you're right. You know what? I am bloody good.
Starting point is 01:00:59 Not saying that we are. But, I mean, you know, I teach my kids that. If you think something nice, say it. So sometimes we'll be in Kmart, she'll turn around and she'll go to this girl behind her who's like 19. She'll go, I love your hair. Oh, that would be so cool. See, that's so nice.
Starting point is 01:01:13 Yeah, so, I mean, I think even though it's really uncomfortable for us and it has been rough this week to listen to them. Rough. It's been rough for who? What do you mean? It's been rough for you? Well, I think it's, I find it hard to accept it. Being rough for some more than others.
Starting point is 01:01:27 But also a little ante and good compliment for the rest of you. It's Clint. You're the least funny. So the other tour way funnier. The way she says it ain't such a slow, nice push. Can I stick up for Clint just a little bit? I'm going to be a compliment guy here. Clint is one of the funniest people I know, to be honest.
Starting point is 01:01:44 And he's so good at making other people look good, you know? Wouldn't you say, Meg, if we're all being serious, Clint is one of the... Clint knows I know that he thinks I think he's funny. Yeah, but we all take the person. Clint is the best person, like he's like the person you'd follow into war. I would. I would follow Clinton to war. There's no way.
Starting point is 01:02:02 No, I'm sorry. Yeah, he lost me. So he gets killed first. That's very nice because in this job I was waiting for the butt. Yeah. No. No. Okay.
Starting point is 01:02:11 Dan, um, got a compliment. You got a few actually. Dan, you've got a really, really lovely mother. Julia is a nominee woman. She is. She's so proud.
Starting point is 01:02:21 Got that one. Dad needs to keep stock pulling the show. Yeah. So there are plenty. We just decided we were going to just put them all in a drawer rather than pick our favorite compliment, which seems very, um... Okay. So I put all, everybody's name into a one of these on.
Starting point is 01:02:34 online generator things that does a spinning wheel and then it comes out. So it's fair. Because our spinning wheel is so... Our spinning wheel, honestly. It needs to go to the tip or moat or somewhere. Yeah, so you've done an online one. So I'm just going to spin it now and this is just going to pick some on random. Take your phone.
Starting point is 01:02:55 Okay, okay, so I've got a number. I'm going to be typing this in to the phone. Christine speaking. Christine, you're going to Olivia. Did Christine just do this morning's one? Oh, wow, that was lucky. What was your compliment, Christine? Christine.
Starting point is 01:03:25 My compliment was to Meg around putting up with you to. It was. Been a mana wahi me. Oh, that's right. That's right. You know, well, that works. Well, congratulations.
Starting point is 01:03:39 And we were talking about how unique my name was. That's right. That's right. Well, congratulations, Christine. Because you were nice to somebody, you are going to Olivia Dean next weekend. Who are you going to take with you? I'm going to take my wife
Starting point is 01:03:54 Like it's her birthday tomorrow And I've been on the internet Scanning thinking what am I going to do We've been together for 29 years And we've only been married for nine years You know what you need to do Kirstein Don't say you won them Say you purchased them
Starting point is 01:04:12 Ages ago Ages ago But her partner's probably like everyone They all listen to the edge So Oh yeah That's right That's right Clint
Starting point is 01:04:19 I'm standing and thinking I'm either going to get a phone call Straight after this or I'm hoping she's in a meeting Christine who proposed to who nine years ago my son and myself my son are Mama bea are you a O'Carol Marquiry
Starting point is 01:04:37 I said no I'm a Marquiry your mother mum is a O'Carol well can you both be O'Carol Marquitre's I said oh well this is what we need to do son Oh beautiful And then we took her up on Taranaki Maunga at Cocoa's Mountain, we call it, and then he pushed his little cars out
Starting point is 01:04:56 and said, Mom, will you marry her? Oh, my gosh. Oh, my gosh. How incredible. What a beautiful story after 29 years together. I'm so happy that the world, the universe, but you. Thank you. Our son is 14 now, and, oh, yes.
Starting point is 01:05:14 What does that mean? Unless you don't have to find a babysitter for him. He can stay at home on his own. and you and your wife have the best time. Next Saturday, so chuck it in the diary, Western Springs Bowl, Olivia D. You will be there for free. Christine? Christine, sorry.
Starting point is 01:05:31 Oh, amazing. Well deserved. Thank you so much, I like you. Thank you. And please call us again. Yeah. We love you. Love you too.
Starting point is 01:05:41 You're my favourite radio station, honestly, and it's not just because I want something. Listen live weekdays from Sex on Rover and catch up wherever. This is Clint, Meg and Dan. My edge. My mum, my gorgeous mother jewels, love her to bits. She hates!
Starting point is 01:06:00 Hates! Hades! With a passion. Telemarketers. I love that one. She's just, and I don't know why she's tired. I don't know if she's, like, had her mobile number leaked or somewhere, but she always gets calls from them. Hates them to the point that she just gets rid of them.
Starting point is 01:06:15 Yeah, straight away. Boom. So we've done this a few times, but we leave it quite a long time between drinks so that she obviously doesn't smell a rat. Because the game is who can keep her on the phone the longest before she eventually hangs up on you. Now, originally Meg had the record, which is interesting because she, obviously, when she listens to the show,
Starting point is 01:06:32 she would recognise your voice. Oh, it did a brilliant voice, though. You put on one hell of a voice a few months ago. She's going to... Hello, Julie speaking. Hello, Julie. This is Paula from the Lollary Commission. How are you doing today? Yeah, I'm not interested, thank you.
Starting point is 01:06:50 Now, Julie, didn't you buy a lot of... I love how you tried to go with lottery commission thinking she's going to win money. She still was like, nah. That's what the hell of it was. I don't know if I would have picked you. You're a comedian. A couple of weeks ago, maybe three weeks ago, we gave producer Brady a chance to try and beat the record that Meg held at 11 seconds.
Starting point is 01:07:12 Hello, Julie, speaking. Good morning, Julie. This is Jared from Spark. How are you? Good thing. I'm calling with a quick up. regarding your account. I hear that you're interested in the new iPhone 18 Pro. We've got a special going at the moment. Yeah, no, not.
Starting point is 01:07:27 Not interesting. Are you sure, Julie? We've really got a good special going. She's gone! 14 seconds. He has the record. Yeah, that is a very good effort. You can tell from the very start she was off at, though, eh?
Starting point is 01:07:38 Now, darling Clint is going to give her a go and see how long you last with Dan's mom. I reckon I can last way longer than both of you combined with Dan's mom. Yeah, yeah, interesting. So you have to do a tactic of you. Of course there is the voice. You have to change yours especially. She's definitely going to... The thing is she...
Starting point is 01:07:55 Sounds like you're Paula's brother. Actually, Brad... Brad is... He does have some sort of Paulus brother quality. I think you need to go deeper. Further away from Clinton. Hey, Julie. Better. Hey, hey.
Starting point is 01:08:09 Hey, Julie. Okay, now here's another thing I'm going to give you. She's in the market for... I don't know if you've heard of this thing called a thermomix. Oh, yeah, my mom has one. My sister-in-law has one. They're obsessed. She's in the market.
Starting point is 01:08:20 for one of them at the moment. She is looking so I wonder if you pretend you're from Thermomix. And hopefully her ears will prick up when she hears it because she's been literally... Also, I think you guys have dropped the ball personally Meg and producer Brady by
Starting point is 01:08:36 coming and sounding like you are selling her something, whereas I'm going to come in my tactic is to make her think I'm somebody that she knows but just doesn't have my number and then once I've got her on, then I'll sell. Okay, so you've thought about this. So give us the voice again. Someone says, Brad sounds like yogi beer.
Starting point is 01:08:55 Hey, boobo. Hey, boobo. I will say this. It doesn't sound like you. So I have high hopes here. I reckon if you mention thermomix, do the voice well. You have her, hookline and sink. Okay, I reckon if I had to put a bet on it, I'm going 25 seconds.
Starting point is 01:09:09 That's how long I reckon I could last. 25 seconds. There's no way. Dan's mum. I reckon 25 seconds easy. Yeah. Men have lasted longer with her. But let's see how we go.
Starting point is 01:09:17 Okay, I'm reading the call through down. Okay. Good luck. Hello, Julie, speaking. Hey, Julie, it's Bradley. How are you, love? Oh, not interested, thank you. No, I haven't told you what it's about yet.
Starting point is 01:09:37 I'm from thermomixom to... My God! She didn't even... My God! I was trying to make out that I knew her. So she would be like, Who's Bradley? Oh, she... You can't do it again.
Starting point is 01:09:49 We can't let her a sniff a rat. She honestly didn't even like... She was like, I don't recognise that voice. Boom! I think... I'm so sorry, Plain. You're definitely not beating... 12 seconds with that. Oh my God, that's the shortest I've ever lasted.
Starting point is 01:10:03 Brad is annoying. That's the most annoying voice. Honestly, that was so much build up for that. We rehearsed all the boys, everything, and then she just absolutely sashed you. All right, we'll get her next week. No, we can't do that soon. We'll start smelling a rat.
Starting point is 01:10:20 I would have might have another go with Paula if I can. The lottery commission. Your favorite radio show? And podcast for... Edge Breakfast. Clint Megan Dan The Edge. The Edge Festi Besties is back.
Starting point is 01:10:33 It's us! And this time we could be sending you and your bestie to see Harry Styles live in Australia. How good, so we just gave away Olivia Dean tickets just after 8 o'clock this morning. Monday after 8 will be given away tickets to Harry Stiles, but of course also flights and accommodation so you can catch him in Sydney because he's not making the trip to New Zealand. We'll send you there. I've been lucky enough to be able to look through the entries.
Starting point is 01:10:55 And can I say there are some, you guys have all done such a great job, because there are some really sweet posters out there as well and some people very proud of what they've done, as you should be. You've all put in great effort. Some of them are a little naughtier than others, but the ones that aren't as naughty, I just want to do a shout-up.
Starting point is 01:11:10 There's a couple of younger girls that have put some really cool effort into posters. I just wanted to shout them out because you've done a great job. You know what? If it gets Harry's attention and he reads it out from the stage, it doesn't matter what it is, really. No. So now some people have gone for a different tactic, like this one from, I think it's Nicole.
Starting point is 01:11:27 which of your song titles is your favourite to eat A, cherry, B, watermelon, C, Kiwi, D, women. And then a winky face emoji. Brilliant. That is good. Quite clever. That is very good. And then in brackets goes, sorry, I know this is a family show. Which I think he would also.
Starting point is 01:11:44 Now, if you got close enough to the stage and he saw that, I reckon he'd be reading that out. Yeah, I reckon that could get his attention. It's very well illustrated as well. We've done a great job there. All right, who else is in the running? Because you do have until Friday night. get your sign in
Starting point is 01:11:58 and then submit a photo to enter on a rover and she takes Harry to 33443. Another one is my four-year-old thinks one direction is actually called Harry and his mates or Harry and his friends which you might like.
Starting point is 01:12:09 Harry. To be fair it kind of was like that. Katie did Harry. I came for the kiss. I stayed for the disco. But it stands out. It's a great sign. That's very...
Starting point is 01:12:19 I'm looking at it now very well designed. Yeah, a lot of glitter. Yeah. We have... You may have... You may... made my dad gay.
Starting point is 01:12:28 Now, I think that one is a really good standout, because I think... That is brilliant. Isn't it so clever? I don't know how or why, but apparently... Wow, and then he's got... Is that as gay dad holding, like, shirtless photos of Harry? Yeah, you made my dad gay. That is great.
Starting point is 01:12:43 I know. Like, I feel like Harry would look at that and do a look. Oh, that's... Okay, because we have to choose our top five. That's, I think that's an easy top five contender for me. Knowing Harry Styles, and if you've got a good spot, he will read that out. Now, what time is it? I've got a very naughty.
Starting point is 01:13:00 Well, there's no real school run because it's school holidays. Oh, cool. So we can push the boundaries a little bit. Well, Sarah did. Harry, my body is like a kiwi. Sweet on the inside, but you could destroy it. Sweet on the outside, but you could destroy it inside. Jesus Christ.
Starting point is 01:13:11 So of that. I mean, okay, there's no school. But, geez, that's even hard. I think some people don't realize that we expect you to take said sign to the concert. We don't just think you'd decide it. And then you win and go by yourself. I really like Molly's. I think it's something he would look at.
Starting point is 01:13:23 It's a bit small, but she says, you're my password for everything, which I think he would be. be like don't, I think you'd react to it. Yeah, that's good. It's good to get his attention. Because there are some great signs, but then there are other signs that you actually legitimately think he might notice and read out. You know about the gay dad one?
Starting point is 01:13:39 If they win, I really hope that they take the dad. So then the dad's there and then Harry Stiles could have this conversation. Harry, I'd give you my last yogurt. He's known for loving yogurt. You know, it's a deep cut. Yeah, all right. This one is, Harry, even your farts have style. and they've done a picture of Harry Stiles with a fart coming out.
Starting point is 01:13:58 Brilliant. Hold on, go back to the creative, eh? Yeah. Well done. Go back to the yogut one. The yogurt one? Harry, I'll give you my last yogurt. I've spelled yogurt wrong.
Starting point is 01:14:10 Oh, there's normally an H in there. Sorry about that, Rebecca. Oh, we can't that can't win now. Sorry, you're out. Spelling error, you're out. Look, it's so great. Everybody's put in such a great effort, so we're going to be going through them.
Starting point is 01:14:21 But you do have more time to enter. You have an idea if it sparked something, if you think, oh, it's over, they're close tonight. And then we'll announce the winner Monday. I reckon go controversial. Go crazy. Do whatever you want. All right.
Starting point is 01:14:35 We got Peter on. Is Peter's dad really gay? Or is they just clickbait sign to get his attention? Oh, Carl's trying to check him behind the scenes. Okay, we'll see if we can get him on and find out what the rest of the story is on that one. But if you do want to enter, just text the keyword Harry to 33443. This is the Clint Meggin' Dan catch up. Want to hear the guys off air and a little looser?
Starting point is 01:14:57 Listen and watch their Overtinkers podcast. It's been a contentious battle all week. The best biscuit in New Zealand, according to the listeners of this fine radio show. The humble Scotch Finger came into the competition. It wasn't anybody's favourite where we didn't think it would be, but it's taken out numerous favorite biscuits over the week. Your shrewsberries, your timetams, your mellow-past.
Starting point is 01:15:24 They've all been cancelled because of the mere simple Scotchfinger. You know what's crazy about this, Meg, is this all started from Dan's wife saying the Scotchfingers the greatest Biscuit, and Dan wanted to prove her wrong. So it brought it to the show for the last three days, and we might just find out after four days worth of gear that she was right. Or Hannah has numerous burn-a-phones, and she's just been texting it all week. Unsure about that, though, Clint, because it now has come up against the legendary, well-loved Biskoth. Now my thing with the Biscove is
Starting point is 01:15:55 And I don't want to sway the votes Because I feel like the Scotch finger has gone all this way And it'd be sad to fail at the last hurdle But the Biscoff's really only good when you crush it And put it at a base of a, you know, like a cheesecake or something Or they brought out the Biscop ice cream sandwich or whatever So they've made it better because they put ice cream with it Which makes everything better
Starting point is 01:16:14 Whereas no one's doing that with a scotch finger Because it's unnecessary Am I the only one that thinks that a Biscophe's overrated? Oh no see I didn't get my... actually be the only biscuit that I quite like, but we're going to the phones now. Votes are in. Danny Al. Hey team, can I just say first off, this segment's absolutely brilliant.
Starting point is 01:16:34 Well done. Yeah, thank you. Great radio. Yeah, it is. But also, Scotch Finger. I will die on the hill for the Scotch Finger. So would I. I've never, do you know what?
Starting point is 01:16:43 I'd never heard of a Scotch Finger before we started talking about this. Yeah. I'm going to, I know, but the way, the, I want to go out on my final day on this earth with a scotch finger inside me. I can arrange that for you, Dad. You leave that with me. You leave that with your friend Meg. If you die before me, I'll make sure there's a scotch finger up here.
Starting point is 01:17:00 I mean, in you. Sorry. Right, here we go. Next up, Jessica. How am I the most mature on this show? Jessica, what are we voting for? I'm voting for best scoff. Oh, you scumbag.
Starting point is 01:17:12 Good woman. What do you mean to scumbag? Jessica, I need that basic. Dad goes, I don't want to lead the witness and sway the votes. But you're a scumbag. Sorry, sorry. Okay. And you're entitled to your opinion.
Starting point is 01:17:23 Thank you, Jessica. It's a real. Somebody with some taste. Kirsten, good morning. Good morning. Morning. So what are your thoughts? Biskof or Scotch finger?
Starting point is 01:17:32 A million percent. Biscoff is so overrated. I agree. I don't think I've ever even bought a pack. Ever. They just look so dry and just... No. Okay.
Starting point is 01:17:44 It's not looking good for the Biskof. I would say if we did a moisture test, Scotchfinger and Biscoff as dry as each other. Biscoff can piss off. Oh, good. Good. That's what the guys that Arnott say about it. They could put that on the cup, on the packet of a scotch finger.
Starting point is 01:17:59 Yeah. Could they? I reckon Arnitz, you can have that. If this wins. If there isn't a delivery of Scotch fingers to the office at some point today, I'm not sure what's going on with the marketing team from Arnott. It would be very strange. Do Arniz want anything to do with us?
Starting point is 01:18:12 No, they kind of ghosted me. Yeah, but I have been reached out. All right, Bisk. Bisc. No, no, no. No, I want to have a fair fight here. and maybe, you know, the Biscop will take it out fairly. But collating the votes, the phones, the texts,
Starting point is 01:18:29 all the social media that we've had over the week, Meg, you're always the one that decides this. You're the maths woman of the show. What is the most popular biscuit in New Zealand, according to the listener? Are you going to give you a drummond? The most popular biscuit is the Scotch finger. The scotch finger!
Starting point is 01:18:51 Yeah! The finger! Come on! I don't think you can say that. The scotch finger takes it out. Yes! I don't know how this has happened. I'm going to go and buy a packet
Starting point is 01:19:02 dipping in my tea this weekend. You should do the same, New Zealand. Come on! Again, they want nothing to do with us. So this truly is. Just free... Your wife was right as well, so you're going to have to wear that when you get home. She's going to be like, see, I told you.
Starting point is 01:19:16 True. I was actually a gate servant. I've been swept up in all the votes. Clint McI and Dan. Edge Breakfast. So here we are again, the same place we found ourselves this time yesterday. Yeah, so there's a lady called Mal and we love her, don't we make? Oh, we got, we love Mel.
Starting point is 01:19:33 And she said, she admitted that Clint is the least, in her opinion, the least funny on the show. But also a little anti, and good compliment for the rest of you is Clint, you're the least funny. So the other tour are way funnier. And he has got it's been eating him alive, isn't it? He hasn't been since he hasn't been on this game. He hasn't eaten. And yesterday he did ask producer Brady to get. find his best bits and play them to Mel and see maybe she missed out your funnier
Starting point is 01:19:59 bits in the morning. Crickets. Did it work? Didn't. It was slim pickings for the best bits as well. So we're back here again today. Now Dan and I are going to leave the room so there are no distractions. Oh, great. We're going to kick off a two minute time. Amal you've joined us again from Topol live. Morning, Mel. How are you, darling? I'm good. I'm good. How are you? She sounds a good smile in her voice. Yeah, good.
Starting point is 01:20:18 Are you chipper this morning, Mal out of interest? You're happy. I am. I was listening to you guys. this morning, but totally judging you, Clint. Yeah, okay. Okay, so just promise you'll have an open mind. Meg and I are going to literally leave the studio. Once it starts. And what's going to happen is Clint's going to have two minutes, which we will time,
Starting point is 01:20:36 and he has two minutes to make you cackle. Okay. Okay. All right, Mel, we're leaving you now. Good luck. So the time starts now. Mel, what do you call a magic dog? I don't know.
Starting point is 01:20:49 A labricadabridor. All right, no. I'm a drug somewhere. Knock, knock. Who's there? Cargo. Cargo who? No.
Starting point is 01:21:01 Owls go who. Cars go, beep. Okay, I don't have to bring out some of my better stuff. Why did the baker have brown hands? I don't know. He needed a poo. That's terrible. I don't know if the drums are helping, guys.
Starting point is 01:21:20 Okay, Meg and Dan were out in the woods, and Meg collapsed. And she wasn't breathing. So Dan panics and he whips out his phone and he calls emergency services. And he says, my friend is dead. What do I do? And the operator says, calm down, calm down. First of all, are you sure she's dead? You need to make sure she's dead.
Starting point is 01:21:37 So they'll silence and then a loud gunshot. Dan said, all right. Now what? I'm out of time. You tried. You really tried. The guys are coming back. Well, they wanted to make sure you were dead first.
Starting point is 01:21:58 And so Dan misinterpreted. not to explain jokes. You misinterpreted checking your pulse for putting around in you. It was terrible. She's laughing now. There's back. You didn't even do a joke.
Starting point is 01:22:09 My God, it's like you two come back and she's on the floor. I will promise you, Mel. I really do promise you. Clint is funny. He is. Don't, don't. He is just behind the same. He said the other day about how sometimes other people
Starting point is 01:22:23 make other people funny. And I'm one of those people, so I get it, Clint. I get what your purpose is. Right, okay. But if your purpose is to make other people funny, you should be helping make me funny. What was your quote, Mal? It wasn't that you weren't funny, Clint.
Starting point is 01:22:39 It was that we were funny. I was the least funny out of the three. What do you think it is about Clint Mal that just makes him so bad shit boring to you? She's giggling. Oh, just cracking up on all your jokes. Anyway. All right, ma'am.
Starting point is 01:22:54 Have a great weekend, okay? You look after yourself. You guys too. And Mal will get you back. Good work. Thanks, mate. I'll get you next week. Yeah, we'll get her back again next week.
Starting point is 01:23:03 No, we're not. Yes, we do. Every week until you make her laugh. I thought the... We've got to win over our listeners. The bacon with brown hands. I thought that wasn't bad. That's a good one.
Starting point is 01:23:12 I like that one. He needed a poo. She needs... Yeah, I know what it is. But anyway... It's just very immature. I think if you told that to a kid, they might laugh. All right.
Starting point is 01:23:22 I almost got desperate and did like a guess the fart, but I'll save that for the Overthinkers podcast today. You don't want to be known as that guy, Clint. Too late, buddy. Want to hear more of Clint, Meg and Dan, but completely unfiltered. Catch the Overthinkers audio and video pod every single day on the Rover app. All wherever you get your pots. Overthinkers.
Starting point is 01:23:40 Rover. Music, radio, podcasts.
