Starting point is 00:00:00 This is a podcast from Rover. Take the edge of your mornings with Clint Meg and Dan at breakfast. Good morning, it is being on 6 o'clock. Glenn, you naughty, naughty boy. What's Glenn? I'm the newsreader. Do you hear news guy, Glenn? He's meant to be impartial. Not having an opinion.
Starting point is 00:00:16 He was talking about beer and how Asahi and a few other Japanese beers have been... I don't know, like the... What's happened to them? Police are looking into them because of the price hikes, which I thought you could just hike up. Gouging. Well, I thought you could just hike your prices however you want.
Starting point is 00:00:30 If it's too expensive, buy it. Anyway, and while he did the news show, when he finished, he goes, making me thirsty. And then he moved on. Now we know what to be... He's adding a little... He's adding a little possess. Now we need to know... Now we know what to get him for Christmas.
Starting point is 00:00:43 Just a nice... What his own radio show? No. No, it's some Asahi beer. Yeah, right. I found Glenn. Did you? Yeah, I found Glenn. Glenn.
Starting point is 00:00:50 There he is. Oh, here he is. Hey, Glenn. You're looking for the pub. It's not the pub. Sorry. Mr. Impartial, we call you. You're supposed to be impartial, and I started hearing you having a saying you were getting thirsty reading the Osahi story. Oh, I saw your angry faces. I was like, what did I do?
Starting point is 00:01:07 What did I do? I didn't say a word wrong or something, did it? No, no, no, no, we're not going back to that time I said coliac disease. Oh, no. Yeah. No, Meg, you especially, you look grumpy with me and I was kind of worried. I just always look like this. Yeah, she's got a resting bitch face.
Starting point is 00:01:21 Yeah, yeah, I haven't had Botox. Clint and I have. She has enjoyed the club there. Clint is very upset right now, but he's got Botox up to the Basin. I'm so you can't tell. You know what, though, though. Those are, and there was another beer in there too. I think it was Suntory as so he was missed out.
Starting point is 00:01:35 Like, they haven't confirmed. But honestly, those are all really good drops. Oh, God, tell us you're an alcoholic without telling you're an alcoholic. I couldn't be in New Zealand because I'd be dropping my opinion everywhere. Exactly. Only on the soft stories, guys are? Only on the soft ones. Thank you, Glenn.
Starting point is 00:01:49 Appreciate you, mate. Can I smell alcohol? Glenn, are you drunk? No, I think that's Flynn. It's okay. That's probably me. The Edge is the home of Clint McGend Dan. The text that came and goes
Starting point is 00:02:02 Needs more beatboxing Clearly you listen to yesterday's show Some chick just calling him out being like Are we all just going to forget the timbreak Every time you get him a microphone Was like look what I can do with boots and cats You know he was doing something different Wouldn't he? Although a lot of people were beatboxing back then
Starting point is 00:02:20 Like it was kind of the cool thing to do Even if you weren't good at it like Justin It's just sad because it's actually a really big talent You know I can't beat box You don't know Putsa Kats, Putskits. Oh, I think you found a talent. I think that was really good.
Starting point is 00:02:35 His name, Bo. Yeah, Bo. He was on, like, New Zealand's X Factor. And he used to beat box and sing. And it was, he was phenomenal because he was doing something no one else on the stage was doing, which was typically just singing. Yeah. You know, but, yeah, he was really, really good. I was trying to see, because he had a song Kings and Queens trying to find it.
Starting point is 00:02:55 Yeah, that's right. It doesn't look like it's in our system. Oh, that's a shame. Yeah. I mean, he was different, wasn't he? was doing something that, yeah, you're right, clip that no one else was doing. It was a point of difference. Yep.
Starting point is 00:03:04 Made the song his own. Big exciting news for me. Sorry, Meg. Sorry, Meg. It is here. It is here. My bad. I mean, if anyone knows. And baby we can do out of days.
Starting point is 00:03:14 No need of worry about what I do. I'll be coming home back to you. Is he doing all the music? Yeah. And then it gets to the breakdown and he just does all the beatboxing. What's he doing now, Bowmonger? Anyway. Yeah, I'd have to find the beatboxing part.
Starting point is 00:03:38 I'll find it later. It was a bit off the cuff. It's a throwback. All right, Mick, what are you? Yeah, Meg said, off the air, we'll do the song. She's, oh my God, guys, you'll never believe. I'll save it for any hours. Something that I can't believe I've been asked for, but I have been requested to do something.
Starting point is 00:03:52 And it is, I think, a great honour. I got an email that said, blurb request. Dear Meg Mansell, I'm reaching out to invite you. To provide a blurt. I literally got this email this morning. I was like, who does the shit? What did you mean you got this email this morning? From Laurel Curtis.
Starting point is 00:04:11 Yeah. All right. So she just sent it out to. Oh, yes, I've got that one as well. Dear Dan, Wabby, I'm reaching out to invite you to provide the blurb review. Oh, well, pass off then. Okay, so everybody just got it. And I was like, delete, who does that?
Starting point is 00:04:24 Right. So it's one of those blobs on the back of the book that you'd see, like, maybe Robert De Niro's read it and he goes the most brilliant book I've ever read. Yeah. So it's for the book, Clean the World, a Hotel Room, A Bar of Soap, A Global Mission. Sounds like this shit is for you. Actually, I've read a bit about it because I thought, well, I'm going to write this blurb since he wants Meg Mansel's opinion. And Dan Weeby's.
Starting point is 00:04:44 Yeah, which I've realized since a joke. But he was going to hotels and then he started thinking about the soap that he would use a bit of soap for a couple of days stay when he was a business guy doing a lot of travel. And then he knew that they wouldn't keep that soap for the next person. because you always get a fresh soap and covered in a little bit of paper, you know, when you go to a hotel. So he was like, hold on a second, what happens to that soap? Because he realised with his research that more than a million bars of soap are discarded every day from hospitals and put in the bin,
Starting point is 00:05:16 and then also 9,000 children under the age of five, die from illnesses that could be prevented from having a bar of soap. So he then created the infrastructure and the business to get these soaps from hotels that were just getting thrown out. Old soaps that are being used already. Yeah, but so in theory, self-cleaning, right, in a way. Should they throw them into the ocean? That's a good thing to put in the ocean because it cleans it.
Starting point is 00:05:36 Not so much. Not good for the pH. Isn't it? No, so then he... Wait so he gets a secondhand soap gets distributed around the world to people that don't have access to it. Yes, no, he did that. I do love the idea. I do love the idea, but I don't know how what Meg's just told us in 60 seconds could be an entire book.
Starting point is 00:05:54 True. I mean, maybe he branches out to other stuff like, you know, plastics and... Apparently, you're all peeled to soap. social entrepreneurs, which I thought was, that's lovely, that I think that I'm one of them. And corporate leaders, the boss of the show, I thought that's why they maybe want me. And fairness to him, you're never using a secondhand bar of soap, are you? Like, I'm never, there's always a pub on it. No, if you're going to tell.
Starting point is 00:06:16 Oh, I don't think you send the puby ones around the world. No, but it's an amazing that we're never, you never think about it, right? Of course, you unwrapped the little piece of paper around the soap, you use it a couple of times, and then there's never, there's never an unwrapped one. I imagine, like, you know, my kids, they love getting those squishies and they're like little dumplings, but you don't know what colour you're going to get, which is why the kids all get the hype. I wonder if when in other parts of the world, when they all open up their soap, you have this like, pub no pub? And then they open a mum and then they're going, I got a pub on my mind.
Starting point is 00:06:44 They're four-year-olds that are dying. I don't think they're going, I don't want the pub soap. You don't know me. Everybody likes to play a quick guessing game. Yeah, everyone loves a mystery game, Meg's my zero toys or something. Well, I'm not going to do it now. Are the ones with the pub soap? on them. Are they the rare ones?
Starting point is 00:06:59 I think they would be. I think they would. Get your Clint McGick and Dan Fix. We do a podcast that sits alongside our show recap podcast that you can get every morning by ironically texting the word podcast to 33443. This is the Overtinkers podcast. If you never listen before, give it a listen because it's like this show, isn't it a big?
Starting point is 00:07:20 But I would say the difference between this show and the Overthinkers podcast that there's no boundaries. You know, there's no censorship in that one. Sometimes like that, the boundaries. Yeah, yeah. I feel safety.
Starting point is 00:07:31 I feel safe in the boundaries where I know you guys can't go too far. I like no man's land where there's no rules. I think you like lots of men's land, don't you? I don't think that doesn't really make any sense. I don't know. There's something there. Yeah, something. I could have edited that in the podcast.
Starting point is 00:07:47 Yeah, yeah, yeah. It would have been better on the overthinkers. Yeah, yeah. It's quite good. It'll take about 15 minutes and you're right. You can go to producer Brady afterwards and go, hey, brook, you edit it out this part and this part. And he always is like, ugh. It doesn't happen often.
Starting point is 00:07:59 Yeah, this might didn't get edited out. It is fun. This might not be fun what I'm about to play you from yesterday's Overe thinkers. But what is fun is when you find a new button that your friend has, that you didn't know they had, and now you go, how fun do I push that a week? And it was when Meg used the words postpartum, and I did a quick Google to find out according to Google,
Starting point is 00:08:27 If I'm still allowed to use that. Thank you so much, Clint, for checking in on me as my male friend. According to Google, it's sort of like a six to 12 month thing, and Meg's daughter is... Like 13 months. Yeah, so older than a year now, so she's actually outside of the definition. Time's flowing, yeah. Yeah, but it turns out Meg didn't like Google's definition of postpartum.
Starting point is 00:08:48 Clint? What do you want to pick that fight? Yes, I can say I'm postpartum for the rest of the fucking life. I just had a baby. You're in a bit of go. My mum still says she's postpartum after me. She is post-partum. She's poxed-partum.
Starting point is 00:08:59 I've never heard of post-partum until, like, working with women. That's on you, mate. And that's on our, that's on our, like, sexual and health system that we learn at school. The fact that you never heard those two words is terrible. Pardon me. Pardon me. Pardon me. So, yes, I am post-my-partum, Clint.
Starting point is 00:09:19 Pardon yourself. On the overthinking. I stand by. I will never be pre-partum again. Lots of swearing there, eh? Yeah, sorry about that. You do look vague. Yeah. It's just so fun when you go, okay, I know what triggers my wife.
Starting point is 00:09:36 I know most of the things that will trigger both of you. What a strange little book to have. What a sad little man? Strange books to have. Doesn't Meg have a book of the meanest things that you never said to it? Try to open that up. No, no. Why am I getting strange here?
Starting point is 00:09:48 No, no. No, no. No, no. No, no. Go writes down the meanest things. Here we go. Where's the last thing? Oh, here we go.
Starting point is 00:09:53 How do you find it so quickly? It's always there. Um, you see. You said, F up, Meg, no one cares about you. Oh, yes. And you know what? That's where it would have been, because Meg had said something to me. And I'm gone, you know what?
Starting point is 00:10:04 Stuff you. No, don't read anything else because it's going to. When you only get one side of the art, Clint, why has this come back to me? I don't know. You're the one that's throwing shade at me? It's just nice for a change to not be bullied personally. Do you know one time Dan said I'd be happier if women didn't exist? Oh, piss off.
Starting point is 00:10:20 I did not. He also said, did not. He looked at Meg once we're talking about food and he goes, you need a whole pizza. Oh, yeah, and I think she could. She was like, Meg and I were both hungry at the time. We're in the back of the car, and I was like, what should we have? This is the context, and Meg was like, hmm. And she was like, I do feel like pizza, and I could eat a whole pizza,
Starting point is 00:10:37 you could eat a whole pizza, right? That's exactly how it was. So, Dan wants to know if you should order one or two. Yes, exactly. And he was like, you'd eat a whole one, so we'll get two. But when you just isolate the line, you can eat a whole pizza, A, it does come across quite mean. Explain the context of this one. Blow some beans up my mouth, please.
Starting point is 00:10:54 This is a sort of face value one really Okay Let's move on Coming up in scandal headlines Jeez Sorry babe I really I knew I had to go to you But I was like
Starting point is 00:11:09 The 6 o'clock hour of this show Has become quite low brown How you want from me Clint Right okay Who's releasing a single tomorrow called Housewife Put your guesses in I'll see if you're right The little guy that's not coming to New Zealand anymore
Starting point is 00:11:23 Oh, Sabrina Carpenter. Okay, Stan's guest, little guy. Who's the little guy? Charlie Booth. Bill Collins. Oh. I don't know. Okay, Charlie Booth.
Starting point is 00:11:30 Okay, right. House 5. Neither of you are right. Who's closer? Damn. Clearly. Because that's a woman, but anyway. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:11:41 Now the new single will be called House 5. It's out tomorrow in time for a performance at the Victoria's Secret Angel show, which is coming up this month, I believe, too. Wait. I need to stop giving do a leap of so much crap then. because Dua in the past has had the worst teasers. I know she's given us like five second... Teases before. But Tate McCrazzan even teased us with anything.
Starting point is 00:12:08 She's just teases with a title of a song. I'd rather that than a five second tease. I'd rather that. Yeah, because then you're like, oh, I wonder what it's going to be. Well, that's the point of a tease. We have a photo. She's in a red bikini holding a wheelbarrow of money. And it's just called White Housewife.
Starting point is 00:12:22 Housewife. Oh, I like that. I like the... Oh, you love a woman. in a bikini or one that's pushing a wheelbarrow of money. I like the idea of like, why is that? Why is she pushing them? Yeah, I imagine my mind goes
Starting point is 00:12:33 to, she thought, he thought she was just going to be a housewife, lounged around her bikini, but really he's cheating or being a bad guy and she burns all his money in the wheelbarrow. The bikini does help. So you think the money must be the man's. You don't think that she's made her own money and gone, see you later, I'm out of here. Or maybe she's saying
Starting point is 00:12:49 I won't be a housewife? I thought she might have been a housewife making a whole lot of money on only fans that he didn't know and then she took all that cash and left. Look at how different our brains are. I mean, there's few options and that's what, see, we're all talking about it. It's a great tease. Yeah, maybe right.
Starting point is 00:13:05 So that is going to be, yeah, out tomorrow, probably not on our show, unfortunately later in the afternoon with the Edge Arvos. For 25 years, thought it has been helping New Zealanders make smarter money choices. The Edge just hits. In Auckland. The Edge, Clint, Megan Dan.
Starting point is 00:13:21 All right, we have 100 bucks cash to give way. Thanks to our brand new sponsor, MTF. For first call of the day, we're going to spin the wheel of random yarns. Dan has it in front of him. And whatever it lands on, if you have a story that is loosely tied to that keyword, give us call and we'll give you $100 in cash. Yeah, there's a few things written on it, like cheating stories, things that have happened to you that are embarrassing, animal attacks, among others as well.
Starting point is 00:13:45 So we're going to give it a spin. Here we go. In three, two, one, it's the most shockingly bad. How is the winning wheel so bad? Okay, so it's landed on, what's that, animal attacks? Okay Clint McGee and Dan Edge Breakfast
Starting point is 00:14:00 The Edge First call of the day First call of the day Sorry Clint I'm just going to say Thanks to our sponsor MTF finance Your local money experts For personal and business finance
Starting point is 00:14:10 We've got $100 cash To give to our first call of the day this morning I would never want to cut off Talking about MTV finance Oh right No no no Definitely not I believe MTF
Starting point is 00:14:18 So much I love them Everyone be Everyone's nice to the people with money You know that one friend That always shouts Everyone's nice to me Oh I didn't know they gave us money I just really like them.
Starting point is 00:14:29 Obviously. Sophia called up for animal attacks. That was what we were looking for with the wheel of yarns. Morning, Sophia. Good morning. How are you? Yeah, good. Now, we spun a big wheel today. We're just trying something different.
Starting point is 00:14:40 You know what? We're always looking forward on the show. And I think that's what MTF loves about us. Yeah, yeah, sure. And so we've decided to put a winning wheel up. We've spun a whole load of topics, and it landed on animal attacks this morning. You've gone, I've got a great yarn there.
Starting point is 00:14:54 I do. Okay. What happened? I took my 11-year-old to Bali for his birthday. And when we were in Ubud, a monkey jumped on my shoulders and attacked my head. He bit into the top of my skull, and then he was pressing his thumb into my eyeball and his finger was up my nose. So I reached up to move his hand, and he bit my hand as well. And then I had to have...
Starting point is 00:15:24 I had to have a series of post-exposure rabies vaccination. Yeah, I can imagine why you would have been, being bitted by a monkey in Bali would have been. How many stitches did you end up getting in your head and your hand? I didn't end up needing stitches, which was really good. They just cleaned it out and injected it with immunoglobulin into the wound site. Actually, yeah, when I was in Bali as a kid, I remember like flying a kite,
Starting point is 00:15:50 hitting a palm tree and smashing those ceramic pots with the lights at the bottom. and I remember they just like pushed it together and put like a plaster over it I have a massive scar on my back now because it needed stitches and they were like you'll be sweet so maybe Bali tries to avoid stitches even when they do need to do them
Starting point is 00:16:05 Sophia what sort of monkey was this so we know what to avoid when we're in Bali It's a grey macaque They have really long canine teeth Did you know I was hanging out with a mate yesterday And they just got back from Bali He said he went to one of those monkey parks And he saw one with a little pink camera
Starting point is 00:16:23 like a digital camera and he goes So he went over to the monkey And the monkey took off Next minute a security card Comes running around the corner He goes Did anyone see a monkey with a camera
Starting point is 00:16:32 My friend was like He went that way Now I'm looking at a photo Meeks just brought up a photo Of one of these monkeys They do look quite cute Don't they unassuming But then when they land on
Starting point is 00:16:41 That'd be scary Yeah Yeah Oh wow Yeah Oh yeah They're still cute And my son
Starting point is 00:16:46 It was really funny Because as soon as it jumped On my shoulder I wanted a photo So he's got a photo of the actual bite happening. Oh, good. Oh, wow.
Starting point is 00:16:54 And is it true? You work for the New Zealand Blood Service, and you kind of give blood now because of this. Yes, it's a lifetime deferral from donating blood if you've ever been bitten by a primate. Oh, my God. I mean, that must be a rare thing, right? God. Yeah, it's very rare.
Starting point is 00:17:11 Yeah. Oh, thanks. And you know what? That call and that story has won you 100 bucks. Yeah, simple as that. Oh, that's amazing. Thank you so much. Thank you so, Sophia.
Starting point is 00:17:23 Tanya also commented saying, ah, that's why I hate monkeys. Oh. I mean, it is the monkeys' fault, I guess, but, you know, he's just, maybe he thought he was going to give a cool tourist photo. Supposedly, you can tell which ones have rabies because they don't drink.
Starting point is 00:17:37 They don't drink water. They get super dehydrated, but something happens in their brain, so they're always, like, frothing at the mouth or dehydrated. Don't point at me when you were describing that. Yeah, why are you always fronting at the mouth thing? I think you should get that checked. You definitely should be giving blood. All right, 100 bucks done.
Starting point is 00:17:50 We've got a thousand bucks to give away. in 20 minutes with easy money. The letter this morning is T. If you want to start thinking of all your T words. And later on, after 8 a.m. this morning, hit the spot is back. We're doing Juerreep. Jason DeRullo's probably as big a song, Trumpets. I'm going to try and hit the spot with that.
Starting point is 00:18:06 Did you bring any leather? I know you brought it Clint, Clint, and I'm going to try on Clint's leather very shortly to see if it fits. My wife said, does Dan want my leather pants? And I said, babe, don't worry. I got a pair of my own that he can wear. Nightmare. He probably fit Jamie's more likely, though. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:20 Oh, thanks, Beck. Skinny. Fill out the crotch better. It's the edge. Listen live weekdays from sex on Rover and catch up wherever. This is Clint, Meg and Dan. The Edge. It's time to get naughty at 640. Okay, this morning, I heard a conversation.
Starting point is 00:18:39 And whilst I was logging into computers and going through a bit of work stuff, I wasn't really watching what was going, but I was hearing what was going. And I was like, mate, without the visual, it's very hard to work out what these two are doing and discussing. What do you mean these two? Out of context. It was you and producer Carl early this morning. Okay.
Starting point is 00:18:59 And so we're going to play a fun game. What will we talk about this morning? You get to be on the jury. I'm just going to play you the audio. Oh, no. And then you as a jury member have to kind of decide what it is that you think is going on. Am I on the jury? Yep.
Starting point is 00:19:11 Okay, great. Okay. You get to do jury duty for once me. Yes. Yeah. I've actually been asked to do jury duty twice and I've got out of it twice. Oh, I'd been asked. I would pull every string to get to get to.
Starting point is 00:19:21 to do jury duty it's my dream i think i would now yeah a bit of fun okay so here we go what uh dan and our producer i'm talking about at about quarter past five this morning it's so nice so that's the one it's sliding sliding around it's just huge though i can't believe how big it is bigger than i expected oh it's not been properly brilliant i have any idea don't say it's disgusting because the disgusting thing here is that clint's filthy little mind pathetic, like just so immature. No, but you are talking about the size of things and sliding in. Yeah, I know, but we were talking.
Starting point is 00:20:01 Okay, can I say what we're talking about? Because I know exactly what we're talking about. A remote control car. Okay? Carl got a new remote control car that he brought him to show Dan and... And we're sitting there talking. Yeah. Carl brought his car in and we're talking and I was like, oh, this is amazing.
Starting point is 00:20:15 And Clint's sitting there, binging a mic on, pathetic going... Okay, well now we know. Now we know what they're doing. There's some more audio. Exactly the same in terms of, like, mine looks pretty much exactly the same as yours. Yeah, except mine's just a bit bigger. Like in the black one, it looks bigger. Carles is black and Dan's is blue, so.
Starting point is 00:20:36 I thought that was quite funny. Haven't had some time recently with your wife. Why is my, like my remote control car's smaller? Everything. Oh, no, you can buy a big one. I don't have enough money, Clint. For both situations. Okay, coming up next.
Starting point is 00:20:54 Few stories we need to chuck on your radar for Thursday, 8th of October, including dating's new deal breaker. What is it the girls are looking for specifically? And if you aren't doing it, lads, you're out. Your favorite radio show? And podcast for Edge Breakfast, Clint McGinn Dan. Edge. Clint megan dance. What you want to what you have?
Starting point is 00:21:14 What you got? All right, a few stories chuck on your radar for Thursday, the 8th of October. What is the latest dating deal breaker, lads? If you don't do it, then supposedly girls aren't interested or aren't going to give you as much of a chance as you might like. Dating deal breaker. Is it if you've got a mullet? Because I heard I read a thing the other day that mullets are now out. It won't be anything as shallow as that, I don't think.
Starting point is 00:21:35 If it's a new age dating deal breaker will be about something about being a good person or intelligent or... Yeah, very close, Meg. Those men that don't read, they aren't book lovers, are treated as those things. less curious, have a shorter attention span, and less intelligence. How do you know that they don't read from their Tinder or Bumble Bios? Or maybe they just find out, like, what are you reading at the moment? I don't read. If that's the case, I'd just go, I'm reading all the big ones.
Starting point is 00:22:04 Go on, God, God, let's try it. We're on a date. We're on the big ones. Okay, here we go. So what, I love reading? So what books are you reading at the moment? Oh, look, Meg, it's what anti-reading is a shorter list. Okay, so do you do audio books and do you also read books?
Starting point is 00:22:19 Everything. You name a type of medium. I'm using it. Kindle and also paper. So what's the book you're reading at the moment? Or multiple. I've just finished all the Harry Potter series. Okay.
Starting point is 00:22:31 And now I've moved on to Tolkien. J.A.R. Tolkien. He's done a... He might have heard of it. It's called Lord of the Rings. Which book are you up to? The second one. Twin Towers.
Starting point is 00:22:41 He's doing well. He's doing well. Okay. And those are very old series. What are any recent books that you've read? Yeah, the Court of Forns and... Court of thorns. Oh, you're a cheebro.
Starting point is 00:22:53 It's the New Zealand version. Yeah, yeah. Kiwi has that one. They've got to redone it. Obviously, I've finished the quarter of the thorns and roses. Yeah, see, I've finished that one, and then I've gone, what other content in that world can I explore and I've gone onto the fawns? Produce it.
Starting point is 00:23:08 Does it specify that it has to be books? Because I'm dyslexic, and I struggle to get through a J.B. Hi-Fi pamphlet. Sorry, why are you interrupting our date? I feel like we're really hitting it off. Sorry, I'm sorry, does anyone want to order food, by the way? I think it's, if you aren't a reader or you are dyslexic, I think audiobooks is a really great way to be able to consume written material.
Starting point is 00:23:28 You know, sometimes what I'll do is I'll have an audio book playing and I'll read along with the physical book. It must be really, why would you do that? Because I can't read. Mainly. But it looks good on the train. Yeah, exactly. Another story, actually, this is really interesting.
Starting point is 00:23:43 If you're someone that is finding it, like a lot of people at the moment, the things are expensive, especially going up for dinner. That's usually the first thing to go, right, when you're trying to save money. There's this new app I just thought that's launched in New Zealand called Eat Club, and you can save 50% off a bill when you go to restaurants. So I think it's like an app. What's the like Teeth and Caesar? That makes me feel like it's like, why is it 50% off?
Starting point is 00:24:04 Well, that's a whole load of restaurants sign up to the app. And then if they've got free tables that haven't been booked for a night, they offer them on this app at 50% off the price. Wouldn't you be pissed off if you were a person that wasn't on the app and you go, how come they've got 50% off and I don't get 50% off and I don't get 50% off and I don't get it. Maybe you're not secretly at the till. Oh, they don't know. I don't think you're going into the restaurant going,
Starting point is 00:24:26 I'm getting 50% up by the way. But I guess I see what you're saying. So I guess for the restaurants it's good because one, you get people are bums on seats and then maybe it makes you look more popular which means people because there's nothing worse than when you are walking down the street and you're looking for a place to eat and if a place is empty, although I do normally go to those purely because I feel so bad. But you normally when you're driving past the place and it's
Starting point is 00:24:45 really packed and you sort of go, huh. Maybe you should go check that out one time. Everyone seems enjoy it. And you can... I'm happy to save. And you can do walk-ins as well. So I don't think you have to book too much in advance. So you might see a restaurant as you're walking past and go, let's check if they're on that app. Oh yeah, I'm going now. And you do it.
Starting point is 00:25:01 So, yeah, it's worth a go anyway. It might not be as good as they say. You know, sometimes things are too good to be true. So I said first table does this already, don't they? That's different because you're booking like this 5.30pm, 6 o'clock table. Yeah, or the last one, it's like. it's like really late. First table, you have to do it like a day in advance.
Starting point is 00:25:18 It's not one of those off-the-cuff ones where you're like, oh yeah. It's 5.30. I'll just go and book a first table. I'm like, nah,
Starting point is 00:25:22 you've got to be really old. Yeah, you'd have to book it like almost a day in advice. This is no, um, no booking required. Okay,
Starting point is 00:25:27 cool. I'll check that out. Thank you, Dan. Give it a badge. And, um, I have seen that the world's longest plank has been beaten. Donna Jean Wilde,
Starting point is 00:25:36 61 years old has broken the record for the longest female abdominal plank. Her whole to five. Five hours, seven, seven, six. Five hours, you said. Four, three, two, one. Okay, wow.
Starting point is 00:26:01 Yeah, five hours. She did it, 61 years old. I believe the male equivalent of the record is about nine. Wow. Well, do we reckon? No, 61, 61, 61 in a five-hour plank. Prodigiskeller had a great idea. Do you reckon Dan could do 90 seconds over the news,
Starting point is 00:26:17 break before you get into Easy Money? I don't even know how to plank, let alone do it for 90 seconds. Get down on your forearms. I thought you're going to say get down your knees, I was going to get all funny. They're going to press up position, but instead of on your hands, you're on your forearms, and you've got 90 seconds. Easy Money next to your chance to win a thousand dollars.
Starting point is 00:26:36 It's easier than easy money. Okay, well, let's see. All right, down you go, and I'll kick it off. I'm not going to start you early. Why are you standing in front of me, Clint? Three, two, and off. Easy Money. Let's play
Starting point is 00:26:51 Easy Money He made it He made it The new female planking record Is 5 hours Dan tried to do 90 seconds over the break You know how they're saying When you die
Starting point is 00:27:03 You start seeing the light I started seeing the dark there I started like I started blacking out It's unbelievable Dona Jean Dona Jean Wilde And 61 years old Five hour plank just done
Starting point is 00:27:14 Good to know that I've got the abs of a 65 year old Or actually not No, I don't. No, no, you definitely don't. All right, Rebecca, let's try and win you some cash. Thanks for holding, babe. 30 seconds on the clock.
Starting point is 00:27:27 10 answers this morning, starting with the letter T. And cash is yours. Got it. Good morning. Morning, Rebecca. Now, if I could do that, you can do this, my darling. Okay. No repeated answers.
Starting point is 00:27:40 Calm yourself, Bex. Here we go. Meg's got your 10 questions. Okay, starting with a sport. Tennis. A musical instrument. Pass. A chocolate bar.
Starting point is 00:27:57 Twix. A celebrity. Poh swift. Something you'd see in a mall. Pass. A place in New Zealand. Chapo. An occupation.
Starting point is 00:28:10 Pass. A unit of measurement. Pass. A car part. Time. Oh, that was not a good showing. I had a list and none of those came up. Sorry, Ben.
Starting point is 00:28:26 Sometimes the problem, right? Having that list is good, but the problem is a, You're looking at the list and none of them tire in. Yeah. Oh, sorry about that, Rebecca. But it says here you're a pharmacist.
Starting point is 00:28:36 Give you a pharmacy a plug. What was that? Give my pharmacy. I work at Dunedinidin Hospital pharmacy. Oh, okay. Hospital pharmacy. In the hospital, yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:28:45 I was hoping you were going to say a drag me and I was like, surely I've got the plug. Okay. Give me a drug. Yeah, give me a tea. Treater no one. Yeah. Nice to Tram it all.
Starting point is 00:28:55 It would have been another one. Treater Noah. I think I'm going to try. Wait, is that this stuff for your skin? Yeah, Camby? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, maybe I'm thinking of something else. You're like, Can Be.
Starting point is 00:29:04 Gambes. No, it can be. Okay, good, good. Thanks, Rebecca. Playing again. I thought she did really well. But as you said... Yeah, you're right.
Starting point is 00:29:11 If the answer was past, she would have got four out of ten. And then the passes, bred passes. I thought she had a good pace about her. I think it was a bit of a shaking way. Oh, alright. Okay, 8 a.m.
Starting point is 00:29:20 If you can do better than Rebecca, we've got a thousand bucks. Up four grabs. Now, Meg has been telling us some stories, and I think she might be aging, faster than the average adult. That's why I need the Tritano and I think. I think that's what...
Starting point is 00:29:31 Isn't that a movie about it? That was a Benjamin Button? Yeah. Or Jack. Jack. She told us a story yesterday that I was like, Meg, there's more to life. You're still in your 30s, babe. Come on, live a little. Yeah, you know you're over 35, when?
Starting point is 00:29:46 If you want to weigh in on this one early, 3343. Ah, pass off. I know I'm not alone in doing this. You'll feel better about your life next. This is the Clint Meg and Dan catch up. Want to hear the guys off air and a little looser? Listen and watch their Overtinkers podcast. Now, Meggy might be aging a little too fast.
Starting point is 00:30:05 Honestly, guys, it was a little convoy. I don't even know what we were talking about. We're just hanging out. We're having a conversation about something. And I said that sometimes, I think we had a cake brought in for some reason, and we got a little treat in the morning. And I said to you,
Starting point is 00:30:21 sometimes when I want a little sweet treat at home, Oh, just pop a vitamin gummy. Definitely not alone in them. Why do they make them so delicious, if not? But that's literally, without even trying to be funny. Like, that's just fact what I do. I'm going, I'm feeling a little low, feeling of it down. I'm going to pop myself a little gummy.
Starting point is 00:30:47 A little vitamin one, you know, one that says like multi-B or something. I think it says not so much about your age, but just, Jesus, man. Live your life. What do you mean? A real lolly. Yeah. Have a word as original. Hey, God forbid, have a whole twicks.
Starting point is 00:31:08 Oh, yeah. Have a laugh. Have a Snickers! You know, like, I'm vitamin gummy. Yeah. Jesus. What vitamins are in at? Like, what is it doing?
Starting point is 00:31:18 I have different ones. There's sleepy ones. My friend has one for her downstairs. I've got to make that sell sleepy gummies. No, different. No, no. What's the gummies for your downstairs? Yeah, my friend told me the other day that she is
Starting point is 00:31:29 Tick-takes scummies for a well-being of her downstairs. Does she take that orally? No, that's what we asked. But no, it's orally. I don't know how it works. There's ones for energy. There's ones for just women's health. There's just multi...
Starting point is 00:31:43 They've got different flavours. There's apple. There's berry. There's orange. If you're getting a sweet treat and the benefits that Meg's describing, it feels like it might be a bit of... I think it's a worry because I do think I'm going to get toxic levels
Starting point is 00:31:55 of some sort of vitamin. Because I'm probably overdosing. You know what's really good for? for your mental well-being and just feeling good? Yeah. A mul teaser. Okay, right. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:04 I might not have as much vitamin C in it. Much tasty. Those skinny dipped almonds? Yeah. I tell you why I think it's quite good. Do you know what? The psyche around it, because I know I'm only allowed to a day. Okay, this is actually sounding really bad.
Starting point is 00:32:19 I know I'm only allowed to a day. Well, that's what it says on the back of the bottle. So I don't just binge a whole bag. You know, like I used to have a binge eating disorder. I used to binge a lot of food. and I was bulimic, so I'm like, okay, you can only have two or you'll get sick. So it's, oh, God, it's so sad and pathetic. God, I'm hearing it out loud.
Starting point is 00:32:37 I agree. I have a sad, pathetic life. I see it now. Thank you, boys. Oh, you're right. You should only have one, because there's only 10 calories, 10 calories and a vitamin C. I know. 10 at them, and that's 100 calories.
Starting point is 00:32:47 Right, this is all. This has been a good awakening. Thank you very much. Okay, you know you're over 35 when. Meg has only just gone north of 35, and she's already doing things she was never doing at 34. Yeah. Can you relate?
Starting point is 00:32:59 where you go, yeah, you know you're over 35 Meg when you start doing what I'm doing. I do look forward to having my daily gummy. I look forward. It's a little treat. Okay. That out of context would be... Mine is when I have to get up at night to pee.
Starting point is 00:33:16 How many times? Just once, but I've never had to do that. Clint McG and Dan, Edge Breakfast. Olivia Dean, man I need, listen up for your cuticle after it'll be 8.30 this morning to be nice to each other. If you want to send a compliment our way, that is what was signed off while we're away on holiday,
Starting point is 00:33:37 and we came back going, fine, sure. That's what people have to do to get themselves in the drawer to win Olivia Dean tickets. We do the giveaway tomorrow morning after 8 o'clock, so if you want to get in the mixer for that one. Right now, though, you know you're over 35 when. Meg says when she wants a sweet treat, you do what?
Starting point is 00:33:53 I look forward to my little sweet treat, vitamin gummies that I have. How many do you have a day, just out of interest. I just have a couple. Pop in a couple, 20 calories. Right. No, it's nothing about the calories.
Starting point is 00:34:06 It's just a yummy sweet treat. Somebody said, I know I'm over 35. I literally injured myself getting up off the couch last week. That's hard to put on the ACC form. I relate to the second text, which is actually similar to that one. They get up and sit down. They have to make a noise every time they do it.
Starting point is 00:34:22 They've been doing that since they were 30. And I'm the same. Something happens. It's sort of like, it's not even, you're not doing it on purpose. No. But you sort of, when you're, You sit down on like a couch or something, you go, oh.
Starting point is 00:34:33 Yeah, I called out to my husband the other day. I was with the kids and he was out at the other end of the house. I go, you're all right. What's happened? It's like, yeah, well, nothing. I said, you're half-ed and puffing. I was like, that's not a good sign. To be honest, I've been doing that since I was in my mid-20s.
Starting point is 00:34:46 Yeah, she's 37, loves a night out, but it takes her about three days to recover every time. Yeah. No, that's just because you're binge drinking, Brit. Yeah, I think just drink a bit less. You'll be fine. Oh, Meg, you'll be this one. Someone says, yeah, I'm over 35 and I know it because when someone cancels plans, I get genuinely excited. I want to be invited, but I don't want to go home.
Starting point is 00:35:10 Sorry. But you've always, again, I don't think that's an age thing. Yeah, that's just me. Someone else said, you know you're getting old when people don't remember the movies you're talking about? Oh, your reference points. Even when I was talking about Meg earlier saying that she ages faster than the average person. I was like, like, Jack, but not even want to remember Jack, the Robin Williams movie. Remember, he ages seven times faster
Starting point is 00:35:31 so he's like a 40-year-old at primary or intermediate school? I literally have no idea. What are you talking about? I mean, Clint, you're a bad example. You reference movies. And then, everyone knows the movie and then when his best friends are in high school,
Starting point is 00:35:44 he's doing that speech at the end of graduation. He's like 80, and he's like dying. It's so sad at the end. Clint was talking about this movie he watched the other day called The Indian in the cupboard. And on paper, that does not sound like a 2026 movie. No, but people will know. Millennials know what I'm talking about.
Starting point is 00:36:01 You remember the Indian in the cupboard. It was about this little boy that would keep a little Indian man in his cover. Yeah, but anything he put in the cupboard when he closed it came to life and he put a little Indian figurine. So he wasn't just putting Indian men in there? No, he put other stuff in as well. Good, good, good, I'm glad. On paper, that does sound bad. Yeah, I don't know why that's the title they chose, if I'm being honest.
Starting point is 00:36:19 Yes. All right. Other options. Are people who are dating, still doing this in 2026? Meg has the study of those who are pretending. to be into something that the person that they're dating is into and then eventually I guess you have to come
Starting point is 00:36:35 clean and go I don't really care about that anymore once they're on the hook. I think sometimes when you're in a new relationship you do give it a bash, don't you? You're trying to get into their hobbies, their interests. I feel like it's a tactic that everybody does. I know I did it. Yeah. No, you definitely did. But then you did a lot of weird stuff. You got your now husband to sign a contract
Starting point is 00:36:52 that if he wasn't pleased with what he had after three months, he could walk away, no questions asked. It's 30 days. Okay. Okay, so on a scale of Meg to me, you want sort of middle five. Get your Clint Meg and Dan Fax. A few days ago, I admitted that I may have exaggerated a tiny bit when wooing my now husband on the, wow, look at us, being interested in the same things.
Starting point is 00:37:20 I remember my husband was really into midsummer murders, which is a program from the UK. And was he a virgin before he met you, but I'm interested. Oh, Rich coming from you, buddy. Definitely not. Now the thing is, I genuinely like Mid-Somber murders, and that's why I say, I then re-got into it to, like, try and, like, respite. What is Miss Summer Murders? It's a brilliant show.
Starting point is 00:37:39 And I said, I said, hey, ladies and gentlemen, but join me in admitting that we've all done this, and nobody did. So I wanted to prove that I'm not alone in this, and there have been studies. So do people pretend to like things because they fancy someone? Yes, they do. Mostly girls are they doing? No, it's mostly men. Really? I couldn't believe it either.
Starting point is 00:37:58 the cland, I thought it was all ladies, but no, apparently men do this more. If they really like a girl, they'll pretend to be into an artist or a book or something that she likes to try and show that they're a good partner. You know what? I tried so, so hard when I first met my wife Hannah, because she's a horse rider. I tried so hard to get into, like, horse riding and stuff. I went for rides on horses. Did you?
Starting point is 00:38:21 I did for like three months, and I just couldn't do it. I said to her, I was like, I love you, but I can't. I just, I can't do horses. I can't stand them. It took you a long time. I can't do horses. I don't think she would have wanted you to do the horses. It's going to be such a good grab for producers' diary tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:38:37 Got it. Honestly, this show is so mature. Another list of, they 90% in another study said they would be willing to tell at least one lie about either their hobby, their interest, their personality, competence or their status to try and woo somebody, mostly, as I said, men. But the thing is with lying, though, then it's, it's. some point if the relationship goes well and you stay together you're going to have to come clean
Starting point is 00:39:02 at some point that was a lie. If it's a big thing, yes, you're in for a lot of worry and trouble but if it's something small like, and then maybe you will get to like it. Maybe your partner is really into Olivia Dean then you go and listen to the record and you, it's actually showing
Starting point is 00:39:18 trying to get interested in their life. Okay, so do you want Meg, if someone has blatantly lied about something that you enjoy and saying they do as well and actually they hate it, do you want them to wean themselves off liking this thing as much or then to just do a dander and say I lied, I just saw you're hot
Starting point is 00:39:32 and I wanted you to like me so I lied. I didn't phrase it in that exactly. What's the play once you realize you've now got each other on the hook and you need to come clean that you've always hated Olivia Dean or always hated horses? I don't know. I don't know.
Starting point is 00:39:47 I always found it as something that I genuinely did make sure I found the interest in it so I didn't even do what Dan did and just go, no, I hate it. I want to speak to someone now that's been with their partner for like three to five years. And they're still
Starting point is 00:39:59 pretending. That's good because they just can't come clean now because they should have about a month in and they went to six months and it was too late then. I think with every relationship
Starting point is 00:40:08 there's some sort of thing where you're pretending a little bit to like something. Okay. What's yours like, the horses? Horses, yeah. I try to show an interest. Okay, so what did you pretend
Starting point is 00:40:19 to like for the longest time or we'll give priority to those who are still currently pretending to like something that their guy or girl is into? And their partner still has no idea. We'll voice this guys if we need to.
Starting point is 00:40:30 Could be something as simple as a TV show. Yeah. Or it could be something like serious as you, like, they want to buy a house. A religion? A religion's another good one. That's tricky. That's a big one. That's tricky.
Starting point is 00:40:42 Take the edge off your day with Clint Meg and Dan. On my soul, 23 to 8, Clint Meg and Dan, your chance to have a crack at easy money and win a thousand dollars at 8 o'clock this morning. Yeah, this is what Taylor Swift has admitted to doing in a song, actually. I got the tattoo. I got a tattoo of the words mastermind because of how I feel like I can't trick my husband to liking me.
Starting point is 00:41:03 So it's about how you kind of make yourself into a version that you think that somebody will like not so much of changing yourself, but finding out that what their interests are, making sure you like them, being in the same sort of place at the same time, like, oh wow, what a coincidence. I didn't know you go to this library.
Starting point is 00:41:20 It's crazy. I think it's a common thing coming through that people are pretending to like the other person's hobbies. And I think that's, fair because they love it and you're just trying to show an interest at least, right? Whether it be horse riding, I don't know, chess. Some are a bigger commitment
Starting point is 00:41:34 than others. Somebody said, yeah, I pretend I was into hiking because he had lots of hiking photos and seem to love it. I do like getting outdoors, but I'm more like walking somewhere where there's a cafe at the end. Right, yeah. You've got to be careful on who you pick and what hobby you choose, they mention. Because there's like going for a hike and then people
Starting point is 00:41:51 that are doing like five days stays out in the wilderness. Lisa's text are saying when my hubby smacks my bum, he loves it. instantly get irritated by it. Yeah, right. I think there'd be a time where you probably loved it at the start of the relationship
Starting point is 00:42:03 and then 10 years and you're like, oh, stop it. Someone else said, I pretended to be into his music, but honestly, and all we play at the house now is Fred again. I guess in the beginning you get down
Starting point is 00:42:14 but if that's all he listens to it. It's not the worst kind of music he could be into. Somebody's texting about what they're lying that they like about us. Oh, really? Yeah, she said, I've been pretending to like
Starting point is 00:42:26 like the A, B and C, this segment you guys have, but I don't. There's no rhyme or reason to it. But does your partner like it? I don't get that. Or you're just being me. We're the partner in this situation. This person, I think, just needs to break up with their partner.
Starting point is 00:42:40 They're saying, I hate constantly being together. I love my alone time, but he loves me. Oh, right. Oh, right. So you've kind of made out, like, he's probably going, oh, we always love being together. Look at us. Always wanting to be close.
Starting point is 00:42:53 I think if you're an introvert, and I'm not, I'm assuming you might be, like having your alone time. Sometimes you've just got to build that into a relationship, right? Because a lot of people were introverts and they like their alone time. How bad is this one from Chavonne? I've been pretending to like his dog for a year. Yuck.
Starting point is 00:43:11 How do I like dog, Chavorn? Some dogs are annoying. You know, the ones that haven't been trained, and that's more on the owner. Yes, yeah, the ones that with like, you know, smelly breath and they hump you all the time. Yes. Oh, there's nothing more degrading. My dog only did that to you. Every time I came around.
Starting point is 00:43:25 Once a visit. He's like, there's Mac. He's like, Clint, what do I do? He won't stop. I was like, well, he will when he's finished. Yeah, he's like, let him finish. He can't help what his tastes are. Clint would just disappear and I'd have to stand there while his dog hump me.
Starting point is 00:43:39 I'd find it flattering. Coming up for the edge breakfast. Hey, eight o'clock this morning. The spot is back. Dan's doing Jason Dorolo trumpets. He's in full leather attire. Yeah, it's going to be, I mean, it's been a couple of months. So I want this to be one of the best ever.
Starting point is 00:43:56 you New Zealand to get behind us. It's down to you, Dan, really. If you want it to be the best ever, you better know. I can feel the people in their cars singing along and doing it with me. So let's all try as a collective. Do this together. Dan mocked the full leather outfit that I brought from home, from my own wardrobe, by the way, and then
Starting point is 00:44:12 he's actually filled himself. He went out to the office. He just did a bit of a lap and got too confident. Honestly, people like doing double takes. I've never had double takes before, unless it was like a negative thing. Yeah. Yeah, it's hard to ask him in, like, call back and be like, was that double take good or bad? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:44:26 He's a positive one. Listen to your favorite breakfast show whenever you like. Clint Meg and Dan. The edge. Oh, yuck. This is so gross when I found out that I've been calling somebody the wrong name for coming up two years. Oh, that's on them. Yeah?
Starting point is 00:44:44 For two years, you'd go, Clint, you've been calling me the wrong. Like six months. But the thing is, I'm also texting this guy. So I'll be like, hey, Carl, how's it going? And then when I see him, I'd be like, hey, Kyle. I'm amusing his name because he's my barber, and I want to feel friendly. You want him to feel like he knows your name. You know his name.
Starting point is 00:45:05 Yeah, like I learned his name. I asked him for it rather than just being the guy that cuts my hand, hey bro, hey bro. Clint Randall knows my name. Oh, stop. That's not why. I'm just being nice. Okay, so you say Kyle. Is it Carl or Cal?
Starting point is 00:45:18 I'm guessing those are my guesses. Was it nothing like that? Well, when I went to book an appointment online, because he's got a new booking system. Oh, yeah. Because he's moved. He probably got it just to show you his name. He's gone out
Starting point is 00:45:27 He's gone out on his own. He started his own business rather than working for someone else So he's got a booking system And I was like, it comes back and he goes You are now booked in at one o'clock tomorrow with Makaya. There's nothing like it. Clans.
Starting point is 00:45:43 But you can see what's happened. Mackaya gets shortened to Kaya And I've heard Kyle. Right. And so I said to him when I went in, I was like, bro, I've been calling you the wrong name for the last two years, have I? And he goes, yeah. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:46:01 And I go, why don't you tell me it's Makaya? And he goes, I only see you like once every six weeks. I just, nah, I thought I'd wear it. I would have just pivoted the next time you went in and just said Kyah really, clearly a few times. So then it looks like he would have gone, maybe I've just been hearing it wrong. That's a better idea. Oh, I would have done that. Not mentioned it.
Starting point is 00:46:22 I've done this once in a way, Clint, so I can kind of join you in it. had a person in my life who had a name that was French and so it had one of those it didn't sound like what it looked like if that makes sense at all kind of like some Irish names do it sound like what they look like like Francois looks like Francis exactly so I wrote it and saved it my phone phonetically as how it's pronounced rather than how it's actually spout and then I forgot that was why I did it so every time I did email or text or I wrote it out that like it sounds like a geek rather than Agatha or however it's actually spelt. Very different. So every time I would write it how I, and I'd be like, Morning a Geat, which is how it's actually, that is how you say the name. If it was on the phone, it'd be fine.
Starting point is 00:47:08 Yeah. But spelling-wise, it was phonetically written. I was, I know the exact person. We've both worked with this person. I think I emailed her as a greer like a potato once. Good. Oh no. She's just really good for mashing.
Starting point is 00:47:21 Who has been calling you? The wrong name. for the longest time and you just, are you just wear it? I agree you. It's not my name. Great potato though. Yeah, I'm very well.
Starting point is 00:47:33 It's a good potato. It's good for mash. Maybe we can clear the end, let the whole of New Zealand know what your actual name is next. I wait under the edge. It's breakfast, Clint McGinn Dan. Right now, though, it's time to clear up what your actual name is to New Zealand. If you've been called the wrong name by somebody in your life,
Starting point is 00:47:48 and it's gone on for so long now that it's embarrassing to bring it up. After I realize I've been calling my barber the wrong name for the life. us two years. It's not Kyle, it's Maciah. Yeah, because Clint just thinks he's just the guy that cuts his hair. He never remembers Mr Little Mandalay. And he always used Maciah's name, even though he said Carl, because he was like, I want him to know that Clint Randall knows him. Just because you're on the tally
Starting point is 00:48:08 10 years ago, mate, doesn't mean you can't five. Five. It's been a long five years. Oh my God, it's been a long five years. Oh, yeah, definitely. Wow. Okay, let's go to Kyle, and I imagine Kyle gets this quite a lot. Hi, Kyle. Good morning. Do you get Carl?
Starting point is 00:48:24 I imagine, maybe. Gosh, I get Carl, I get Kylie. It happens all the time. I guess when it's written down, someone says like, oh, there's Kylie, you're next? And you go, it's Kyle. Yeah, I get that. I just let that hang in the air of it, like when I'm collecting my coffee. I'm like, I'm very clearly not Kylie, but thank you.
Starting point is 00:48:45 And I also get Kyle. I've never known Kylie to be one of those unisec names, sex names like Ashley. Yeah. Kyle. Kyle's one of the most, like, simple names. doesn't it really? How do you get that role? Well, you still call our producer Carl the wrong name sometimes.
Starting point is 00:49:00 Oh, because we've got so many. There's cow, there's Carl. I don't know. Too much. There's two of them. Yeah. We've Sarah as well, Sarah. Your name has been spelt wrong your entire life.
Starting point is 00:49:11 Now, it says Sarah in our system. Is that S-A-R-A-H? Sarah? Yes, it is. Oh, how much do people spell it? My nana, just my nana. Oh, or I spelt it S-A-R-A-H. R-H-A, so Saha.
Starting point is 00:49:27 Is she just dyslexic, though? Yeah, ha. No, actually, no, possibly. She's thought everybody's name completely wrong out of all of green kids. So S-A-R-H-A-S-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-H-Rae. We corrected at her, but she never, she never still, still could come, and it'd still be spelt wrong. Wow.
Starting point is 00:49:49 It's a power play then. For sure. Oh, Al-Lan is from my, my Papa and Archie. he's knuckles and cousins stomping around in Dargaville. How's Dargaville, Alana? It's good. It's good. Nice and sunny.
Starting point is 00:50:03 Do you ever go into the Salvation Army the shop there, see my popper? Sometimes he volunteers there. Yep, occasionally. I'll hear your papa around. It's a lovely small town, so everybody knows everybody. I'm confused as to why your name would get confused with somebody else. Yeah, so I have a lady that comes into our work
Starting point is 00:50:23 and she calls me Shiree constantly and my name's Alana so it's quite It's not like that's even a mistake I know I used to correct it all the time I'd be like Alana you know fireback Alana like a penis match
Starting point is 00:50:36 But then now it's just like I'll let it go No you're Shiree I'm going to win this I'm going to win this Oh shiris a lovely name though isn't it I mean if you didn't have a Lana you could be a Shiree Wait did you used to work with a Shiree
Starting point is 00:50:46 that's no longer there No she's still there Oh so Shire's there Does she get called Alana I can see what she's done. Yeah, Brittany says a customer's been calling me Bridget for 10 years. This is from Brit. I've told them multiple times it's Brittany.
Starting point is 00:51:04 But then I was at a cafe with friends and she saw me and said, Bridget, what are you doing here? She said, I just haven't got me with friends. My friends would have looked to me like, who the hell is Bridget? Oh, I love that. You wouldn't have the heart to tell them in a public situation like that, would you? No.
Starting point is 00:51:18 Although that is a power play. I want to do that even if. if it is my real name. I want to go, my name is Brad. Coming up with Clint, Megan Dan. All right, let's see if we can give away $1,000 next. Meg, what is the letter this morning?
Starting point is 00:51:32 This morning, Clint, it is S. All right, S, you give us 10 answers starting with S, no repeated answers. In 30 seconds, we'll give you $1,000 bucks going into your Thursday this morning. You know, I feel like it in my waters. I don't know if your waters are boiling like mine, are Meg, but I feel like we've got,
Starting point is 00:51:48 we're on the cusp of a thousand dollar giveaway. Should be checking that, mate. I don't think it should burn that much. Yeah, I don't think that your water should be boiling. Do I need to go to the doctor again? I think you're nervous because hit the spots coming up after eight as well. Oh, that's right. And you've been wearing leather for about an hour.
Starting point is 00:52:02 It's not very breathable as a material. No, it's not. I'm sweating profusely under this leather jacket. All right, let's give away a thousand bucks first. Clint. Time. You ready, Bergen? And Dan.
Starting point is 00:52:15 Oh, my God. Easy money. Thousand bucks on the line. If you can give us 10 answers, starting with S in 30 seconds without repeating answers, of course. The cash is your. and playing this morning is Nikki from Auckland. Morning, Nikki. Hi, how are you?
Starting point is 00:52:29 Yeah, good. Okay, so let's see if we can get you a thousand bucks. Okay. Oh. Is your phone? Yeah, is your phone good? Fun's kind of glitchy then. Yeah, I don't need myself.
Starting point is 00:52:40 Okay. Oh. Okay, actually going to take the phone. Yeah. Oh, that's better. Much better. Yes, Nikki. See, we could have just saved you then.
Starting point is 00:52:50 Yeah. Carl, producer, Carl, should have got you to do that, so he's been fired. Happy last day, girl. He's giving us a thumbs up. I've actually got rid of both our producers. He looks very happy. Oh, yeah, Dan. You're going to be on funds tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:53:03 Okay. Okay. Okay, okay, okay, Nikki, Nikki, your letter is yes, let's go, let's go. Okay, time starts. Okay. Okay. Okay.
Starting point is 00:53:08 Okay. Okay. Give me a girl's name. Sarah. A sport. Soccer. A board game. Scrabble.
Starting point is 00:53:20 An animal. A car brand. Taboros. Something in the pantry. Sugar. Something you tie. Shela. A type of bread.
Starting point is 00:53:35 Sugar loaf. One of the seven dwarfs. Sleepy. A director. He scores Zazy, I think. Stanley Kubrick, I think's there. Oh, no. I think Steven Spielberg would have been...
Starting point is 00:53:59 I was Googling sugar loaf. Just to double check. That's the type of bread. Is it? Yeah, it is. Yeah, sugar loaf would have... Yeah, I had a question mark on that because I thought that's the only one we're going to come back to if she... Yeah, it's a type of loaf.
Starting point is 00:54:10 from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, famous. Oh no, that's a cable car. Did you say sugar loaf bread? Damn, damn. Nikki, you were flying for the first seven. Oh my God. That's the worst though, Nikki, when you get that close,
Starting point is 00:54:27 it's almost worse than just having a complete cancer. I know, I know, and I'm going to Rotata next Sunday, and I wanted it for spending money. I just can't believe that. Those drinks are going to feel so much more expensive using your own money. Was it just a total mind-blank on that? You think once we said Steven Spielberg?
Starting point is 00:54:42 Yeah, you know it, right? I was trying to think of a Kiwi director. Oh, like Tyker or something. You've really really shoeboxed yourself there. Oh, for God. I know. Sorry, Nikki, that was so amazing. I really thought that was going to be.
Starting point is 00:54:56 And yes, I have cheated. Sugarloaf is actually very much so a bread called Sukaboulet. It's in the Netherlands. Lovely. And you've said that perfectly correctly. Thank you. Like you would know anyway. Even with the accent as well.
Starting point is 00:55:09 Good on you. All right, hit the spot is next. The crowd has arrived. Come on. Thank you, Tim. That's okay. We haven't done a proper, like, hit the spot in about two months. So I'm nervous.
Starting point is 00:55:21 I'm ready. I'm dressed in leather. Derulo. Trumpets. Next. All right. Good luck, Daniel. I'll need it.
Starting point is 00:55:35 Olivia Rodriguez, stupid son. We see one more practice behind the scenes, and then we'll see how we go. The Edge is the Home of Clint McGendown. I love for the edge. Hit it, hit it. Hit it spark. There we go. Jason DeRullo.
Starting point is 00:55:47 He was in the country a couple of weekends ago, performed in Auckland Spark Arena. Hell of a show. One of the best I've been to in a very, very long time for you're listening, Jase. And such an incredible backlog of music that it was hard to pick which song to do. You could do many.
Starting point is 00:56:01 Yeah, we were tossing up between a few of them, but we landed on trumpets. I'd say it's as big a song. Yeah. Yeah, the drums they swing low. And the trumpets stay low. Hopefully. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:56:13 So look, it's tricky here with timing because it's one of those moments where there's not much music behind when he's singing. It's just him kind of riffing. Yeah, yeah. There's a lot of pauses. Yeah, and also the tricky part here is the vocal. A lot of falsetto.
Starting point is 00:56:27 A lot of falsetto and then transitioning back into full voice. Now I don't want a mansplain singing, but that's hard. And I also just wanted to point out that if you are watching this online eventually and I see Dan, it is not normally how he's dressed. No, look, I don't usually wear full leather. Although I am feeling myself. There's a whole load of people in the producer booth right now.
Starting point is 00:56:46 How do I look guys? I actually got them to do that. Those guys can you cheer at anything. Let's hear it for pay cuts. It's a minute it. See? Oh, okay, only one. You know, I went out into the kitchen before,
Starting point is 00:57:02 and I walked past someone and all they said was, Jesus, like that. I don't know whether to take. It could be, Jesus. I don't think it was. Yeah, true. Okay, all right, you're ready? We're ready. Let's start a moment about.
Starting point is 00:57:12 Okay, I'm giving us a bit of a lead-in. Okay, here we go. I'm going to let Jason Rullo do the first bit. And you can really find your timing. Is it weird that I hear, buy your lens whenever you're gone. Whenever you've gone. Everybody. Kanye West song.
Starting point is 00:57:29 Kanye West song. Remind me on. Remind me of a Katie Perry song. Get on. He's in my, I wrote this song just looking at you. Oh, oh. Yeah, the drums they swing low. And the trumpets, there you go
Starting point is 00:58:05 Come in before No Thank you so much everybody He's still gonna his leather's off Yeah, should I take them off I feel like a stripper Not so much, Jason Derulo to be fair Could Megan Dan
Starting point is 00:58:38 Hit it, hit it, hit it Hit it spot Whoa I'm still riding high on a bit of a victory lap I've hit the spot this morning Yeah, the return The return, the triumphant return He is the king, he has always been the king
Starting point is 00:58:49 Jason DeRulo No, you, Dan, Lisa What did you think of Dan's hit the spot? Oh, Dan, you nailed it as always. I'd already pre-empted it and it'd already type the message before. I love you, Lisa. That's faith. Hell sad, though, Lisa, if you'd miss it and you had to go delete, delete.
Starting point is 00:59:05 Delete. Delete, delete. Yeah, Charlotte, what were your thoughts? Good morning. Morning. That was hot. Hey. The vocals were on point.
Starting point is 00:59:18 And I feel like everyone always know, like, Clint's going to swoon us. But that was, I felt swooned, Dan. Thank you. You know what, Charlotte? A good compliment for Clint there as well, then. This ride's closed, Charlotte, but you know what? If it wasn't, no, no, no, no. You can't say that.
Starting point is 00:59:34 You can't do that. Unfortunately, I'm married. Charlotte's I absolutely not. I was just trying to be nice. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Thanks, Charlotte. When you do talk about your ride as a roller coaster, though, at times you've used the roller coaster of reverberman.
Starting point is 00:59:46 A lot of seats on a roller coaster. There is. Mine's more of like the log flu. It's a bit slow. You can still get three, sometimes four on there. It's really slow. Sometimes it's fun and there's a big slide at the end. Right at the end that's just the only fun bar.
Starting point is 00:59:59 Yeah. If you missed it, here's a little quick recap for you. I feel like when I brought the music back up at the crescendo moment, it was a little quiet. It might be on me, Dan, my bad. I wrote this song just looking at you oh, oh. Yeah, the drums they swing low and the
Starting point is 01:00:21 trumpets, there you go. Perfect. The timing is perfect, my brother. Yeah, I think it is pretty perfect. Oh, you know what? We can say it, you can't. Well, I can't hear it, you know, so every time I hear it back, I go, how actually perfect was I? So there we go. Is that what you do when you're in bed at night?
Starting point is 01:00:41 You go back through your day, you go, how perfect was I? You just like play it back? Yeah, my wife is already asleep. Yeah, yeah. Web team, I know they probably will. Don't forget to tag old Jason DeRullo. He's got 44 million followers. So if he reshires that, might go right for edge breakfast.
Starting point is 01:00:54 Thanks for that. Jason Derulo share that sort of stuff or is he too cool? Bugger, I've got a stain on my t-shirt today. Should have thought about that. Of course it's going to go viral. Yeah, when do you not, though, let's be honest. All right, the battles continue next as Dan is on a quest to see if his wife is right in crowning. Unofficially, the Scotch Finger is New Zealand's greatest biscuit of all time.
Starting point is 01:01:16 Yeah, and it bit out the Tim Tam yesterday. My mum actually told me she was influenced by the show when he bought some Scotch fingers because of it. So next, the Scotch Finger goes up. against another iconic New Zealand biscuit. What will win? We'll tell you next. Get your Clint McGee and Dan fix. The edge.
Starting point is 01:01:33 Clint Meg and Dan can any biscuit take down the Scotch finger, which Dan's wife unofficially says is New Zealand's greatest biscuit of all time. Yeah, so far this week. We've been trying to find New Zealand's best biscuit. Yesterday the Scotch finger went up against the Tim Tam. It took it out. So today, the Scotch Finger versus the Shrewsbury. Wow.
Starting point is 01:01:53 Such a name. Where did that come from? I'm going to Google that. The Shrewsbury name for the, if you don't know it, which is I don't know how you've managed to be in New Zealand without knowing it, kind of plain biscuit, jam, and then another biscuit on top with a little cut out, like a little hard. So we need some 0800 calls, 0800 the edge or text through 3343 to vote between the Scotch finger or the Shrewsbury for New Zealand's best biscuit.
Starting point is 01:02:18 The winner of this goes through to the next round tomorrow. They're both largely shortbread base. They are big. In my opinion, the Scotch Finger is elite. So Scotch Finger is obviously from... Scotland? Scotland. Is it?
Starting point is 01:02:32 No, I'm not. Surely that's what I think. You know, where the Shrewsbury is from a town called Shopshire in England, where they were first baked there. Okay, so you think of it as a New Zealand biscuit, don't you? Already lots of text and calls coming through. Let's go to Ashley from the Hawks Bay on 0,800 of the edge. Ashley, you're already getting a vote in for the Scotch Finger?
Starting point is 01:02:52 100%. Okay. not a Shrewsbury fan. What is it that you love about a Scotch Finger and why do you think it should be New Zealand's best biscuit? A Scotch finger, well, you've got the chocolate one but you've got the plain one and they go so good with a glass of milk.
Starting point is 01:03:09 They're just like a nice comfort biscuit. They are, aren't they? And they're not as maybe bad for you as your Tim Tams, your mellow puffs. I'm definitely putting in a vote for the Shoesbury here. I'm really shocked that we're not, it's coming through that the Scotch finger is still bending it. Kim, Shoesbury or Scotch finger for Best Biscuit?
Starting point is 01:03:30 Definitely Scotch finger. What? It's crazy, hey? There's so much love for some reason. I don't know if it's just the listeners of the show. Do you know what? It's the recipe. And I found out the founder, William Arnett from Arnitz, brought his classic Scottish shortbread recipe over from Scotland to Australia. So they're actually, I guess you would argue they're an Australian biscuit,
Starting point is 01:03:52 but it's a Scottish recipe that was started in Aussie. Scotchfinger getting a lot of votes on the text machine, but there is someone that does love a Shrewsbury. Yeah, Annabel, thank goodness. There is somebody that is agreeing with me. Shrewsbury, nothing beats it. Obviously. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:04:07 Now, were you one of these people that... I remember there used to be an ad, like a few years ago, advertising the Shrewsbury. Oh, with the beer? Yeah, and I remember he used to push the button because you know how it's got the little thing in the middle? It's like a heart or a diamond or whatever, and she had pushed the button before he eats it.
Starting point is 01:04:20 Do you do that? I eat all around it And then you eat the little shape for last Oh yeah, I see what you're saying These could be all used out of context, couldn't they? I know This is great I mean, yeah, thank you Annabel
Starting point is 01:04:33 So you were one of the few people that's voting for Shrewsbury As is Dorothy, Dorothy is called up Shoesbury Dorothy? Hi Hey, how old are you? Because I would have thought only children like the Shrewsbury
Starting point is 01:04:43 It's a real kid biscuit Oh no, I love them I'm a favorite biscuit How do you eat yours? 69 I am 69 What do you say? There's some more innuendo
Starting point is 01:04:52 So how do you eat yours, Dorothy, out of interest? Do you pull it apart? Do you just eat it whole? No, I just have a big bite, and it's all chewy and gooey, you know. I love it. It's delicious. Thank you, Dorothy. I love them.
Starting point is 01:05:03 Okay, let's have a look through these text machine, okay. Right, got it. So, oh my goodness, a service says, pregnant lady in the car, listen to biscuit chat. I'm going to four square right now. I need a pack of scotch fingers. Honestly, Anas, what are you doing? Why do we not have any scotch fingers in studio yet? Yeah, you'd think this is sponsored, would you?
Starting point is 01:05:20 But no, yeah. Yeah, come on. Is that the way you've actually done this, Dan, over the last three days? How many days before you give up? I'm hoping that if the Scotch finger does win, we get a box load of them and we give every call to win Scotch fingers on Friday. Oh, that'd be good. I don't know.
Starting point is 01:05:35 Shrewsbury is starting to get some thick and fast votes. Let's have a final tally. It's going to be close. No, no. Surely not. Surely it can't take it. Well, am I four year off over the Shrewsbury? I don't, okay, wait. Okay.
Starting point is 01:05:53 Just tipping over. with four more votes than the other biscuit. The drum roll finished age is going to be. At the end of the drum roll, this is how it works. I told you, I don't do drum rolls. There's another one, so. Well, you just don't talk to on top and five. Scotch finger.
Starting point is 01:06:09 Thank God. Honestly, thank God. I thought for a second there, the Scotch finger was not going to progress. That was close. Okay, so now it goes through to, I guess what would be the semi-final tomorrow, and then maybe over the weekend.
Starting point is 01:06:24 Oh, God. going. If Arna's haven't sent us anything by Friday, mate. We could do this for another two weeks. Oh, my God. All right, hey, coming up and so the next 15 minutes, your chance to get yourself on the draw for Olivia Dean tickets that we give away.
Starting point is 01:06:39 Clint McG and Dan. Edge Breakfast. This bit might make you feel old when you find out what Meg's about to share with us. Yeah, okay, so I figured it out yesterday. Can't believe it, but you may remember the very iconic music video and song
Starting point is 01:06:56 Stacey's mum By founders of Wayne It was Rachel Hunter The beautiful Rachel Hunter Was Stacey's Mum Still a babe by the way Oh god, such a babe Love that woman
Starting point is 01:07:08 She was in the music video Almost like a cougar Like flirting with her sons' mates And if they were to make the music video today And use someone that was also Stacey's mum the same age as Rachel Hunter It'd be somebody born in 1992.
Starting point is 01:07:27 Wow. Was she 34? I suppose she was... That's crazy. And she was the cougar. She was the cougar, yeah. So she, the cougar, they'll go, we need a, we need to, we need to, we need to, we need to, we need a cougar.
Starting point is 01:07:40 Somebody born after 1990, you know, 1932. 92, 994, 92, maybe we'll look for a cougar there. You put the mold? You could squeeze in there. It's 1990. Oh, I reckon you could just squeeze in as a cougar. People are just texting in stuff as well About things that'll make you feel old
Starting point is 01:07:58 Appreciate those. We'll read some of those out. Dan's got a couple. Now I've found a list of like, yeah, like it is a list that will make you If you're in your, even if you're in your 20s I think this will make you feel old. So these are some of the most famous cartoon characters And if they had aged naturally, how old they'd be. Okay. Let's start with the cast of the Simpsons.
Starting point is 01:08:17 Homer Simpson, if he had aged naturally when the show was released in 1991, he would be 75 years old. Bart Simpson, nearly 50 at 49. Lisa Simpson, 47. Wow. So, like, I think they were, the Lisa and Bart, they were like eight or so
Starting point is 01:08:35 when the show started. Here's some honorable mentions as well. Remember Pokemon? The lead character, Ash Ketchum. He's 39. 39. 39. In 2026.
Starting point is 01:08:46 Oh, my gosh. Compossible. A lot of Pete. Gen Z's ears would have watched Kim Possible. She's 38 this year. SpongeBob Square Pats, one of the most iconic TV shows in history. Have a guess as to how old do you think Sponger's?
Starting point is 01:09:00 How old is he in my head anyway? It's tough. He's like very immature. So is he like eight or ten in my head as a character? You know when he first started? He was 13, apparently. And it's mentioned once in a very early episode that he just has a birthday and he turns 13. Oh, he'd be what 30 something now?
Starting point is 01:09:17 He's 40. Oh, 40. 40 year old. old sponge. Scooby-Doo's 64. Peter Griffin from Family Guy. He's 69, nearly 70. And Dora the Explorer. This is the one that shocked me. 80. 30. Oh, no, you've gone too far. Why do you do that? He does it all the time. He's such an
Starting point is 01:09:36 honestly. It ruins the bit. She's 33. She's 33. Yeah, that's not that crazy then. Spice Girls, the song dropped three decades ago. 30 years old, this song. And somebody else Texan said, I was born. The year Friends first started, I'm 32 now.
Starting point is 01:09:57 Bloody hell. Stewie Griffin is 28 from a family guy. Pepper Pig. I didn't think they'd been around for very long. But apparently if she'd aged naturally, she'd be 26 years old, Pepper Pig this year. Even just did a quick Google on Macaulay Culkin,
Starting point is 01:10:13 because he's sort of frozen in time as like the Home Alone kid. He's 46. He's closer to 50 than 40. now. And it looks like he's cleaned up his act a little bit of recent. Because he was, I think, quite into drugs and stuff later in his youth. Because he was a child star. They all are.
Starting point is 01:10:27 But I think he looks happy now, doesn't he? Yeah, with a great wife. Yeah, a lovely family. So, yeah, good on him. Yep. All right, well, next. Who wants to go to Olivia Dean for free? It's the only way you can get tickets now that Western Springs is completely sold out.
Starting point is 01:10:43 It's going to be a hell of a concert. She's going to be here in like a week and a half. How good. It doesn't. come around very quickly, hasn't it? Yeah, hopefully I think she would come to New Zealand and explore a little bit before the gig. Yeah.
Starting point is 01:10:56 Sure. Yeah, for sure. She'll be going to Queens. So unless you illegally sneak under the fence or climb the fence or something and go through someone's backyard, this is the only way you can get to the concert. You have to be nice to each other to get yourself in the drawer for Olivia Dean and buy nice to each other. Nice to us. Nice to one of us.
Starting point is 01:11:10 Yeah, so. Listen live weekdays from Sex on Rover and Catch Up Wherever. This is Clint, Megan Dan. The Edge. Good Megan Dan. This is Clint McGee and Dan's, Olivia Dean's, nice to each other. Yeah, you've been nice to us, and your compliment sticks long enough to last all Friday, and we still remember it.
Starting point is 01:11:27 You're in a dull past to Olivia Dean, just being nice to each other. This text already through Meg that says, I just want to say to Dan, Dan, you are very handsome and so bloody funny. Oh, stop it. I only got Snapchat to follow you. What? I don't have Snapchat.
Starting point is 01:11:46 Wait, she's following some hot guy. called Dan, that's definitely not me, because I don't have Snapchat. Snapchat, it might be even a little sexy Snapchat. He's sending you any sexy photos, can I just haven't said it's not me. Unless they're really sexy. Unless they're really sexy. Which case, that is me.
Starting point is 01:12:01 All right. To go into the draw, give us a call. Oh, 800 the edge. Hi, Jennifer. Hello, Meg. You are the funniest, funniest woman. And you make my day every time I go to work. I love listening to you. Now, can we just
Starting point is 01:12:17 Can we just confirm, Jennifer, you mean funny ha-ha, not funny peculiar? Because they're two different things. Oh, Jennifer, that means so much. Thank you. She is. Funny-ha-ha. It's been a rough time. My two girls are going up to Olivia Dean.
Starting point is 01:12:30 I gave one of my tickets to them so they could go together, and it would just be awesome if I could go with them. Oh, that's so nice that you did that. Yeah, I'm really happy that they can go. They weren't going to be able to go together, but they're like the best of friends. And, yeah, I just love that they get to go do that and have a special time together. Cool mom? God, you are a cool mom.
Starting point is 01:12:50 She's a cool mom. Yeah, what a cool mom. Oh, thank you. Thank you, Jennifer. You were in the drawer. Okay, fingers crossed for you. You know the one who said, I follow you, Dan on Snapchat, you're really hot.
Starting point is 01:13:01 And Jamie's just messaged and goes, definitely the wrong Dan because your Dan has an underbite that says otherwise. Oh, Jesus. Why is it? Do you have an underbite? No, I don't. I've got an underbite. Sometimes I try to accentuate my jawline by pushing the bottom of my door out.
Starting point is 01:13:15 That's an overbite. I've got an underbite. Look at that doorline now I'm doing that because I can't talk properly now. Anyway. Right, let's go to Ash. Ash.
Starting point is 01:13:27 Okay, Ash from Gizzy. Morning, Ash. Good morning. Good morning. My compliment this morning is for me. I'm actually not even ringing for myself, but I just heard the cuticle now because I was like, oh my God,
Starting point is 01:13:40 it's my last chance to help my friend get tickets for her and her daughter. Oh, you're so nice. I genuinely, I just genuinely want to. to compliment med because I've been a huge follower and fan from the start and just I'm just so in awe and thankful for you being so real about every journey like from pregnancy who's sharing everything about mental health with guy and now even seeing him on pages like little matters and things yeah yeah oh thank you ash
Starting point is 01:14:14 genuine and real couple and I think it's just so important to have people like that within public media because there's no other way to lose different issues. Thank you Ashley is so wonderful and it's so true little man is an amazing organisation if you want to go follow it
Starting point is 01:14:30 it's about looking after our children protecting them Meg when you came up with this idea you said you didn't think you were going to like it and she's loved it hasn't she? No I tell you love the idea you came up with I'm still struggling because I dislike terribly myself so much that I think everybody else
Starting point is 01:14:46 listening in their cars right now are going oh shut up about him oh no some are yeah definitely they just don't call it oh that tense sometimes all right one for Dan one for Dan Graham morning Graham
Starting point is 01:14:59 morning Graham How's it bro? Morning to Graham how's it bro yeah good thank you my compliment is for Dan today I think Clint's already had one saying nice stuff to Meg
Starting point is 01:15:10 but Dan I just want to let you know three inches There's massive, my friend. You can be proud of that. Thank you, thank you, Graeme. Our smaller guys need to stick together, eh? Graham's a front runner for me. We will.
Starting point is 01:15:22 We're talking diameter, right? Yeah, yeah. You're talking about diameter? Yeah, yeah, okay. Diarmament. Of course, of course. All right, thank you. Thanks, Graham.
Starting point is 01:15:29 Appreciate that. Coming up on the Edge Breakfast. See, Meg, what I took away from that is you and I are both inspirational people. Yeah. We actually had somebody, was it yesterday that Mel called through and she did a bit of it. Yeah, Mel, to try and big up somebody on the team to decided to diss somebody else to show how much she liked. Megan, Dan, as it turned out.
Starting point is 01:15:50 But also a little anti-and-good compliment for the rest of you is Clint, you're the least funny. So the other tour way, buddyer. That is kind of held on your shoulders for a little while. He's got no confidence either, Clint, so it would have really hit him, eh? So I said to the guys. Before nine. It's been eating him alive.
Starting point is 01:16:10 Can we get Mel back on? We get Mel back on. And I'll try to win her. her back, or not win her back, but just never been on your team. No, yeah, just win her over slightly so that she tolerates me more for the benefit of you to. It's not about tolerating, I think you need to make your laugh.
Starting point is 01:16:23 Okay, she needs to find you funny. Okay, producer Brady, find the three funniest things that I've done on the show today, and we'll play them to her next. I've only got on an ad break, it should be plenty of time, mate. That's not bad. Are you not worried this is not going to come across desperate? Do you know what? I might even...
Starting point is 01:16:39 He's never worried about looking desperate, I don't think. After Brady's thing, I might be the least funny out of the four. Sorry, Carl Can I just say Like between the compliment segment And then like Clint's wanting to prove his fun But this has become a very self-serving hour Tragic, tragic
Starting point is 01:16:54 Tragic Your favourite radio show And podcast for Edge Breakfast Clint Meg and Dan All week we'd be giving you the chance To get yourself in the draw For Olivia Dean tickets
Starting point is 01:17:04 By being nice to each other And giving each other compliments Something we don't do very well on this show We do We do rip each other To reads more frequently than most I would say off here, on ear, in our group chat.
Starting point is 01:17:15 It never stops, by the way. If you think we just do this for on ear, and then we're nice to each other behind the scenes. No, no, no, no, no. It becomes tamer on air almost. When the mind's off me, God, she can have a potty mouth, can she? Oh, she's a bully, eh?
Starting point is 01:17:29 Oh, God. Well, listen to Mel could probably join our group chat because it turns out she's rather savage too when she said this yesterday. But also a little auntie and good compliment for the rest of you is Clint, you're the least bunny. So the other tour of way, buddy, eh?
Starting point is 01:17:43 It's so good. Okay, so we have Mel back on because Clint wants to bring her his funniest bits from this morning in case you missed them. Morning Mel. Morning, Mel. Can I just say, this is the equivalent of like your five-year-old coming up to you going, Mom, look at me, look at me, look what I can do, jump off the couch. Well, maybe Mel's just been missing my best bits.
Starting point is 01:18:04 Now, I would say that the rules are, Mel, we're going to come back. We're going to keep you on the line. We'll play a bit. However many funny bits of Clint is done today. There won't be many. We'll listen closely And if Mel laughs at all, it's over. You know, like, you know, that means
Starting point is 01:18:18 you think he's funny. So, but if you're not laughing, okay, and Mel, don't you mute your phone? You're cracking up in the background, we can't eat. Now, and don't blink as you miss it. It's about a five second clip. Okay, okay. The first clip I have is
Starting point is 01:18:32 Dan asked me to bring a Jason Derulo outfit because he was doing hit the spot this morning. Oh, so I set you up for it. And I'm going to try on Clint's leather very shortly to see if it fits. My wife said, does Dan want my leather pants? And I said, babe, don't worry. I got a pair of my own that he can wear.
Starting point is 01:18:46 He probably fit Jamie's more likely, though. Oh, thanks, me. Skinny. Fill out the crotch better. So Dan would fill out the crotch. Sorry, I have women's pants better than men. Wait, I didn't even get it. Okay, cool.
Starting point is 01:18:59 So again, Clint, you can't sit there and explain it. It should just be self-explanatory. Next one, I want no talking from you afterwards. We'll just see if Mel's laughing. I also think Meg did a lot of the heavy lifting there. Thank you. Yeah, but sometimes that buggy would jump. She loves Dan
Starting point is 01:19:12 I can say anything, Mel, and you laugh, eh Okay, next bit, next bit. Okay, okay, no explaining yourself. Here we go. Okay, well, it's like, you've got a super power. Okay, producer Carl and Dan earlier this morning were talking about their remote control cars and I thought it would be funny to record them
Starting point is 01:19:29 and then take what they were saying out of context to make it sound like they were doing something else. It's so nice. I just don't want it sliding, sliding around. It's just huge, though. I can't believe how big it is. Bigger than I expect it. Oh, it's not been properly.
Starting point is 01:19:44 Nothing. That's not you being funny, though. That's them being funny. No, no, no. I love you, Mal. That's just them having a conversation and I found a way to make it funny for everyone. Again, sorry, Clint, that's a fail.
Starting point is 01:19:56 Have we got any more? Yes, okay. Oh, Jesus, really? Dan was trying to make us feel old by telling us how old some cartoon characters are. And he said this. And Dora the Explorer. This is the one that shocked me.
Starting point is 01:20:09 80. Oh, no, you've gone too far there. Why do you do that? Quite a bit. Dan being funny. No, but what I've done there, Males, I've deliberately gone way higher to make Dan's facts sing really insignificant. God, Mel.
Starting point is 01:20:28 Honestly, Mal. Can we get you on every day? We love her. And Clint will play you at the end of the show all is gags. And then we'll see. We might get her one day. Honestly. Okay.
Starting point is 01:20:38 Not today, though. Thank you, Mal. Thank you, Mal. Yeah, she's awesome. How you feel, Clint? I mean, maybe you need people like me so that Dan is even funnier than most people find him, you know what I mean?
Starting point is 01:20:50 No, I think I'm just really not funny, but you are just even worse. That's what I mean, I need to be here to, like, lift you up. I don't know if that's doing anything. Yeah, like maybe you stand on my back, metaphorically. Oh, look, myself. No, I don't want you standing on my back.
Starting point is 01:21:04 Crush me. Not my best. Want to hear more of Clint, Megan Dan, but completely unfiltered. Catch their Overthinkers audio and video pod every single day on the Rover app. All wherever you get your pots. Overthinkers. Rover. Music, radio, podcasts.
