This is a podcast from Rover.
Edge breakfast.
Good morning, 6 a.m. Monday. Meg is right. Spring sucks.
Spring sucks.
Raining. Yeah. Yeah. What?
Spring gets your hopes up that it's going to be summer soon.
You have a couple of days and you're like, wow, this is summer.
It's summer at summer and then it goes windy cold, windy cold.
All the lambs die.
It's what happens. There's being news article every time.
They're like, oh, you know, there was a huge rainstorm and a cold front came through and all the lambs died.
Hey, how about we start the Monday?
Let's do a restart.
Come on.
Up, up, up, up.
Here we go.
Try it again.
Come on.
All right, let me see.
He started it with spring sucks.
He knows it winds me up.
So it's a trigger.
Take the edge off.
Your Wynx with Clint Meagandandand.
Edge breakfast.
Liam Lawson's winning.
The All Black's won over the weekend.
What a Monday.
He came seventh, didn't he?
Well, that's a win.
Oh, no, mate.
Is that not a win if you're seven.
They're giving participation medals out after the top three other?
When you're in a race.
racing balls, mate, that's a win.
That's a wood.
Okay, and as far as I can see,
no lambs have died over the weekend.
Yay, how good's that?
Finding clean DM for the industry.
It doesn't matter.
How much research did you do?
Not much.
To me, I haven't looked into it deeply.
All right, no, it's going to be a fun show.
We've got a brand new promo
that we're going to be running out this week with Westpac.
Your chance to win some seriously epic prizes
at about 20 past seven this morning.
Yeah.
This is exciting, actually.
I don't know, I've heard.
Some of the prizes, like you say, Clint,
just out the box, good.
Yeah, you want to get through on these ones.
And we're giving away the trip to Sydney.
Flight's an accommodation to see Harry Stiles
after 8 o'clock as well.
So plenty of going on for your Monday.
Easy money, 7 and 8.
More chance if you'd win a thousand bucks
if you had an expensive weekend.
The Edge is the home of Clint McGend Dan.
The Edge.
Time for a little coffee catch-up.
See what each other got up to over the weekend
since we last quarter?
Went to the All Blacks on Saturday night.
With my brothers over from Australia.
we went along. He's a huge All-Black supporter.
I imagine it was a good game because here we won.
Yeah, it was, Meg, genuinely.
Like, I went along, you know me.
I'm not a big sports guy.
But I was blow it away.
Like, genuinely blown away, not only from the All-Blacks
and the incredible performance against the Wallabies,
but also just the atmosphere there.
Crazy to think, they call Eden Park the Fortress for the All-Blacks
because they haven't lost a game there since 1994.
Isn't that crazy?
And I think in World Sports,
that is like some sort of record
where a team has never lost
and the wallabies in particular
they haven't lost to the wallabies
at Eden Park since 1986
which is before I was even bored
well you know what then you can't be that bad a drinks
um
Clint was bored
yeah he was in his 20s
you can't be that bad to give drinks then Dan
because I imagine
imagine if when Dan went
someone was someone came up to me
in fact two people came up to me
and they're like oh no you're here
I'm like, no, it's for the Warriors, not the All Blacks.
And then a lady came up to me at the end, and she was like, sorry, not a jinks for the all blacks, hey?
See?
Yeah.
That's good.
I like that when they just, they make a little common.
You know they listen to the show.
Yeah.
But it's so much better when you're there.
And just before we move on, Meg, real quickly, the anthem that was performed by the, I think it was the St. Paul's College Boys' Choir was incredible.
Have a listen to this.
Oh, that's magic.
It was like, he was people.
on tears all around us like that.
I thought the camera crew
was a little sad because I watched the
performance and they start on the choir which is beautiful
and then they obviously go through all the all black spaces
and some of the people in the crowd but I thought
they'd finished by going back to the choir
so the choir didn't get much screen time
it was actually just at the start and that was it
and I was like I'll go back to the boys doing
and it was even the Australian national anthem
because they did both that was even incredible
so yeah amazing work from the same thing
Very talented lads, eh.
I was excited.
I forgot to tell you, boys, something happened to be over the weekend.
I've never experienced in my career.
And I thought, oh, if only you guys were there,
I was ordering a coffee at Butterfly Creek,
took my girls there on the weekend by myself, go me.
And the man ordered, I was wanted to do coffee from him,
was just going through my order.
And then he stopped.
Oh, my God.
He stopped.
And he goes, dead straight in the eye.
Are you really her?
Are you really good?
Now, that could be a loaded question.
Because he could have mistaken you for someone else
Or he is literally meaning you.
What do I?
I mean, who's her?
Who's her?
I don't know.
Who do you mean?
What do you mean?
What did he mean?
Do you know?
I laughed.
I laughed.
I was like,
well, I'm Meg.
And I'm sure that's who he meant
because he said, you guys are really funny.
So I'm hoping that's who he meant.
But I know, it is a mystery, Clint.
Are you really her?
Are you really her?
Could mean anyone.
Is it a problem?
You should have gone.
never know.
He just turned around and walked off.
He would have been like, gosh, she's rude.
And then he's like, didn't want a coffee?
Meg's the least.
He doesn't claim it.
I have to commit to the bit.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
He turned to his kid.
He was like, that's Haley from Zia.
Yeah.
All right.
Coming up with Clint Weekend Dan.
All right, first call of the day,
your chance to win 100 bucks.
Thanks to our brand new sponsor,
NTF finance.
So we'll spin the wheel of random yarn.
And if you've got a yarn,
call us and we'll pay you for it.
Next on the edge.
Get your Clint McGinn-Dan-Dan-Fex
First call of the day
First call of the day
All right and you get 100 bucks
Thanks to MTF finance
Our brand new sponsor
After we spin the wheel of random yarns
It landed on Mettin A-lister
Okay
And the person that we managed to get through
Is Michelle
Good morning, Michelle
Good morning, how are you?
Good Misha
Can I call you Misha?
Oh
Sure, why not?
Yeah, it sounds like no one does that
No one's never called me that before
but why not.
Okay, give it a go.
Okay.
All right, Misha.
Tell us a story about who you met as an A-lister.
So I've met two that I think are A-listers, both in the same place.
So I used to work at Australia Zoo.
Oh, yes.
And we used to do a little sketch, and we had like a celebrity box.
And so I've met both the Backstreet Boys and Paul Walker.
You met what?
And I had to get them there.
The Backstreet Boys.
And Paul Walker.
Wow. So, yeah, I would say they're very funny. Both, I guess, Hollywood celebrities.
We've lost Clint completely. Yeah. The Backstreet Boys. Which Backstreet Boys song do I play now?
Yeah, was it all of the Backstreet Boys or just a couple of them?
All of them except for Nick.
Oh, yeah. Oh, he must be going through something maybe at the time.
Yeah, he doesn't like Zeus.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And what's your feedback on on the Backstreet Boys?
Who was the most polite and down to earth? And also, how was Paul Walker?
I didn't speak to all of them
I had to hand them a prize
so I got to say like hello
and stand with them for a little bit
Paul Walker was really lovely
really really down to earth
yeah really really nice guy
I would think out of AJ
Brian Howie and Kevin
I probably would have gone with
Howie being probably the nicest
Was he?
If I had to guess
Yeah he was quite nice
He was very very shatty
Chaddy
Oh yeah Clint you get along with him
And before we
I mean, what was it like working on Australia Zoo?
Because that's a pretty cool job.
It was awesome.
Honestly, best few years in my life.
Is the, who's the kid?
Who's the boy?
Robert Ewan.
Robert Ewan.
Is he nice?
He was a codlo when I went there.
Oh, because everyone wants, well, not everyone,
but people on the internet try to hate him, but he's like so lovely.
No one can.
So I just wonder if maybe he is genuinely that cool.
Benzie and Bob used to walk around with their own little security.
He would have been probably about, yeah, five or six when I worked there.
Oh, yeah.
And was he an asshole?
No, absolutely not.
I'm kidding.
And what about McCauley Colkin mixed in shit?
He used to work there as well.
Is he still crocodile training there?
No, I just thought when Clint said, who's that kid?
I was the most famous kid in the world as McCauley Corkin.
I was just trying to help out your bit.
Yeah, okay.
I'm sort of railroaded it.
Michelle, $100
thanks to MTF.
Thank you so much.
Awesome.
And thanks for giving us an excuse
to play the Backstreet Boys.
Local lenders across New Zealand
with Finance Ready
when you are,
if you want to win 100 bucks like Michelle,
listen nice and early
around this time tomorrow morning.
He is the most famous kid.
I'll give me that.
Thank you.
We're nice to who's the kid
and we're talking about Oakland Zoo though.
What has McCauley got to do with Australia?
It's not Australian.
Leave no coffee, girl!
I think all of them's who would be stoked to have McCauley Colkin
doing something like that.
We can't go out now.
All right, let's find out what's been happening
in the world of entertainment over the weekend.
Coming up in scandal headlines.
Gandalf loves to party and Kim Kardashian's redemption.
Kim Kardashian got redemption with
redemption with Martin Brundle on the...
What do you call it?
Formula One.
Martin Brundle is one of the commentators in the Formula One.
He does the grid walk.
The grid walk. Thank you, Dan.
Did I not know the rules? Did we get up on the wrong phone?
No, it's absolutely fine.
Lovely to see you again at a Grand Prix.
That's nice of her.
Yeah, last time he interviewed her, she blanked him.
And I think she's seen all the comments and stuff after it,
and they've gone, and she's gone, I better be nice this time.
And also she's going to be there a lot more now that she's dating Lewis Hamilton.
Yeah, I think he maybe also realized that that's important chat these days.
Yeah, Lewis is like, babe, can you just talk to Martin next time you're there?
Because he keeps giving me shut.
And Troy Devon's.
Joyce Varn's album has come out with
one of his tracks called Party
Party in the bushy
Party of the bridge
party at the restaurant
Party of the club
Party in the day
This is party
Glenn you would party there
If somebody said to you
Hey we're having a party and it's
Party in the bush
You would and if there was like free drink
Free free free free
You're for misin that I thought that one would
No he will be in the bush
He's one also
Well he's got a very cool music video
With Sir Ian McCallan
And what is victory?
If not celebrated
For at long last, a party.
He's like we got Gandalf to do it
And so the interviews have mostly been about how did you get Gandalf?
And Troy's like, he's a really old, good friend of mine.
I think the first person that I come out to in the world might be Sir Ian McKellan.
It's a crazy story.
I sent him a video, basically explaining the story and begging him to do this voice over.
Two days later I get an email and it's a video.
It's him in full Gandalf, Garb.
And in the beginning of the video, he's also talking like Gandalf.
He, like, says my name in this, like, booming voice.
Troy Chavon.
Oh, my goodness.
Yeah, yeah.
So they worked together many, many moons ago.
And Sir Ian McCallum was the first person he told that he was gay.
Wow.
Of all that.
He's a great pack to come out to.
Yeah, true.
Because he was a good.
Yeah, exactly.
That's a cool story for who's the first person you told.
Yeah.
For 25 years, Sordid has been helping New Zealanders make smarter money choices.
Bitch.
Just hits in Auckland
The Edge
Clint Meg and Dan
If you are listening this morning
And you are out
And you'd like to share with us
The first person that you told
That'd be fun
Yeah
And it wasn't like mum or dad
It was all best friend
It was somebody random like that
I've never really thought about
Like the importance of that
I can imagine
First person you tell
And whether
And how they receive that news
I imagine for some people
Coming out to the family's the hard one eh
You'd be
You want to do it to a stranger
Or at least someone
That wasn't in your family first
Yeah I guess if somebody had
Who was
openly out and living their life and succeeding
that would be a good person to talk to.
Meg, if you could come out to any famous
person in the world, who would it be?
Come out again to somebody.
She's going to say Phil Collins or Gandalf.
No, Phil. I won't be Phil. It won't be Phil.
Who would I come out? Do you know what?
Ian McKellet. He's one of my favourite
actresses of all time and as he would just say
it's fabulous, I imagine.
Clint McGinn, Dan.
Edge Breakfast. The Edge.
One Auckland couple.
Going to be having a fun week this week
deciding how they're going to spend their $15.3 million?
This is a good amount, eh, because it's not enough to share with too many people
that they come out of the world of it going, can I have a million?
Because you can't.
You can't share too much of it.
No, I guess not.
You still get lots of people trying, I think.
Yeah, but then you keep most of it.
Good to know that if Dan wins 15 million, it's not enough to share.
No, I would be sharing that.
You wouldn't be sharing $15 million for this.
No, no. Maybe I'll give you, I'll buy you ghost lunch.
By the time you buy a house stand for 9 mil, you only got six left,
and then the rates on a $9 million place probably aren't.
Cheances.
$9 million house.
There's no way you guys need that.
No, no one needs $9 million house.
No one, thank you, Dan.
I don't think so.
Clint, what could you possibly have in there?
No, you know what it would?
I actually wouldn't buy a house.
I think I'd put the money away and just let it, like, and invest it,
and it would just keep multiplying.
And then I could just rent busy places, and then when I get bored after six months,
I go rent another place, and I just bounce around.
True.
That's good for the kids.
Yeah.
And doesn't your wife hate packing and unpacking?
She'll love that.
But she wouldn't have to.
If they're moving constantly.
Yeah, she will just leave them there every time.
I thought the quote was fun from the Auckland couple
once they found out that, $15.3 million richer,
because they go, what's the first thing you're going to buy?
And the wife said, well, we won't be buying Rump steak anymore.
It'll be fillet, I-fill it from now on.
The thing is with Rump, though, you can get a lovely cut of rump,
and it's delicious, and it's usually a bigger, bigger cut of meat.
Yeah, it is bigger cut, but I don't think it's as tender, is your fillet,
as your I fillets.
And also a new iPhone.
So they're like, they're going to get a new iPhone,
and they don't buy Rump steak anymore.
I thought, you know how there's that saying?
There will be signs.
Yeah, I won't tell anyone if I win, but there will be signs.
But it's those subtle signs?
Like, I would always have those little red stuffed bell peppers.
Oh, God, I love them.
In the fridge all the time, not just when you're having people over.
I had a, there was, I went to a friend's house the other day, and they did a shakutery board.
There were three of them.
Yeah, that was it.
Yeah.
They wanted the color for the board, but too expensive.
I think I'd just have a rolling charitoudery board at home.
Yeah, no.
always be one there. I'd have a chef.
Chef would be, I think, the first thing I'd buy
if I was super rich. You can't buy a person.
Right, well, I would.
And he'd live in the basement and come out and cook meals.
And then I think, you'd just have a car, wouldn't you? A flash car.
I'd go and buy one of those, like, dairy freezers
that they have in the dairies. And then I have them stocked like they do in the dairy
with, like trumpets, magnums and cyclones and stuff.
So people come over and go, you want an ice block? And they go,
what have you got? Come with me?
So what you're saying is the sign for you would,
be you'd be morbidly obese.
Yeah, I was about it.
Clayne will be very, very big.
And also, every time we came around to his house,
we're like, Clint, we're just checking it on.
You go, which ice cream do you want?
We're like, no, Clint, we're just...
We don't want an ice cream.
Yeah.
Last time I was here, I had three members' melt-outs.
I don't need any more ice cream, Clint.
It's the middle of winter.
Please.
Send you home with your own bot?
I don't want any more ice cream.
He didn't win a lot of.
He just want a lifetime supply of ice cream.
I think he's already done that.
Have any one lifetime supply of ice cream?
I did.
Actually, I won two.
No, I won two yearly supplies.
He'd still dreamt about it.
I won a yearly supply.
It was only because, well, I didn't win it.
It was at a charity auction, and it was like a year's supply of magnums.
And I was the auctioneer, and no one was giving me a bid.
So I was like, I'll start the bidding.
And then I was the only bid, so I was like, hey, babe, guess what?
And then, by chance, the guy that was flating with my wife and I won a year's supply.
So we had two years worth.
Oh, wow.
He still dreams of those days.
When was this guy flating with you, by the way?
That's news to me.
Was it your chef?
Yeah.
He's living in the basement.
Oh, it's fun to think what we would do.
But the reality is there is an Auckland couple who are actually getting to do that for real.
I know.
Yeah, like, amazing.
Good on you.
And can we have a million, please?
Yeah.
Just a little million.
Yeah.
Just a little million.
All right, Norty 640 is up next.
And there is something that Dan is doing, nude, that nobody else I think in the country is doing.
Oh, no, there'd be other people.
Oh, there will be.
There's other people.
No, you don't do this, no.
Listen live weekdays from sex on Rover and catch up wherever.
This is Clint, Meg and Dan.
The Edge.
Time to get naughty at 640.
It was something that Dan brought to the Overtinkers podcast on Friday just before we took off for the weekend.
It shouldn't be a thing.
It should, like, there'll be a lot.
You guys are going to look like idiots here.
Okay, let's see.
I'm just warning you.
Okay, because Dan started a bit of a swimming routine during the week, haven't you, at your gym?
Not just swimming. I'm pumping tin, doing cardio, throwing some weights. Throwing some weights around.
Oh, yeah? Oh, you know one of those people that actually throw their weights around?
I was like, bang, bang on the ground. I'm like, mate, we all see your lifting the 15s?
It's obnoxious, eh, when people do that. And they like, make them make a real big noise when they put them down.
I say, make, if you can wrap them out for 10, you can put him down gently.
The weight I'm lifting, it goes, ting, when it hits the thing. So it's not a bad.
So, yeah, Dan is on some sort of body transformation journey. And so he's taken his before photos.
Yeah, and he was telling us about on Friday.
Because I'm on a bit of a weight loss journey at the moment,
not on weight loss, but like I'm trying to build some muscle.
And I took some before photos the other day.
Oh, and I deleted them.
No, no, no, you need them because then when you are jacked,
you'll be, like, holy confronting.
No, but I would never release them.
I look like a podgy marshmallow.
You look for yourself.
You look for yourself.
And Hannah was like, because I showed them to her,
and she was like, why did you take them naked?
Because I took them like full frontal.
Yeah, yeah, it needs to be naked.
And no one has ever done that.
No, you do.
You know, you were your undetheth.
You were your aunt.
So, and also you must have set up a self-time name because every time I've done it
before photo, my husband's taking it for me.
No, I took it in the mirror.
So you've just got a new selfie in the mirror, clit.
Oh my God.
That exists out there.
I have deleted them, so I can't show you.
But they were, I think it was side on like that.
Side on like it took the photo.
And then a front on.
And then I think from memory, I sort of did a back.
How'd you do a back one?
Like from behind.
And then I was obviously planning on.
on cropping it to certain year.
I wasn't going to...
Like they did just wear your undies?
But yeah, I know, but I was nude at the time.
So I was just like, oh, just take it while I'm here.
No, but what about your legs? They'll transform.
So you want to have your whole body.
I don't do much leg day.
I'm mainly working the upper...
Oh God, so you're just going to be little twigs at the bottom.
Yeah. Although I'm not really a skinny guy down
like down there.
You know, like in terms of, I'm not meaning that.
But I don't mean I don't need to do as much work on my lower body.
Yeah, you naturally have quite, I would say,
like thick thighs
and ass.
Yeah, I do have quite a muscular calf
because I tow walk.
Yeah, well Danny says
no one's doing that, Dan.
Your wife was even surprised by it.
You know what's so funny is I was really excited
because Dan said if you get 10,000 texts,
I'll release them and it looks like people
are desperate for us to not release them
because we receive one.
If we get 100 texts, I'll send you a screenshot
on Snapchat.
50, 20.
Hey, look, 10.
Does anybody want to?
If you've ever done before photos
I've done before photos
Back in the day
Never nude
Is anyone doing them nude
Is Dan in the majority or the minority?
Obviously you cropped them though
No one's released
I was never going to release
Like a before photo on Instagram
You just full nude
Was I ever?
We don't know why'd you take it then
Just for myself
Like it was just so I could go
Oh yeah look at me there
You're like oh I'm all cut
It looks bigger
Your favourite radio show
And podcast for
Edge Breakfast
Clint Meg and Dan
It's time to get naughty at 640
Yeah, a little earlier we found out
Dan's taking before photos
As he's on his way to shred for summer
But he took them naked
I don't know many that are doing that
Most will wear some sort of underwear
But I was never going to release
I would never have released a photo with me in undies anyway
Okay, but I mean if you're going to compare these photos
Just for your own personal
benefit
Are you going to take the after photos nude as well?
Probably
Yeah, you'd have to I think. Yeah, I think so
Because you want to see the full...
To be honest, the reason I took them nude is mainly for the ass.
Because I'm doing a lot of, like, the leg crunches and crunches and differences.
You just don't really working on your legs.
That's why we're going to crop up.
Just ass, not the eggs.
You're doing donkey kicks and glutes and stuff.
Yeah, donkey kicks.
Do you have to wait, like, quite a while for the girls to finish with those machines, generally?
Do you find?
This is what he does, eh?
Yeah.
He tries to power play.
Sorry, Clint.
I'm sorry, just because jealousy isn't a good look on him, Dan, because he's got the greatest ass on the show and he knows it.
And Dan knows it.
I got a new iPhone the other day.
It's the blue one.
And Clint goes, oh, I know a girl with one of those as well.
It's just jealousy.
It's just jealousy.
It's just jealousy.
It's just jealousy.
What are you thinking of the colour?
No, it is just jealousy.
Dan has a fantastic bum.
Yeah.
And we can't deny that, Clint.
As much as he teased him about everything else.
His bum is the best.
Well, then, if it's the best up doing donkey,
get thrown off, you buy some girls.
Yeah, true.
Work on the other stuff, Dan.
Okay, we'll work on some other stuff.
Your bum's fine.
The abs are really hard to work on them.
Sarah, morning.
Good morning.
Good morning.
Good morning.
You've taken it before.
photos, Sarah?
Yes, so two things.
Definitely taking them with clothes on,
not taking them naked down, it's just weird.
Okay.
And secondly, I hope you deleted the photos out of your recycle bin.
You've got to delete them from the deleted photo
because it holds onto them for 30 days on an iPhone.
Right. Yeah, it would have been over a month ago now,
so hopefully they've disappeared.
But Sarah, here's a question of you,
if you did take them with clothes on,
how do you know, how good your ass works going, you know?
you make sure that you're wearing like nice tight shorts and a type shop.
Oh, so you wore like fitting like active wear type stuff?
Yeah.
Yeah, I should have thought of.
Yeah, we're speedos or something.
You've got lots of rash vests.
You love your rash.
I do. I hear all my body gloves.
Matt, good morning.
Morning, guys.
Morning.
Now, thoughts on this.
I mean, I'd imagine, have you, first of all done before shots before?
Oh, of course.
But I've never in the news.
Of course you have it because you're a normal person.
Yeah.
Now, while we're sure that Dan, Dan, you're absolutely a beautiful man, of course.
Stop flirting with me, man.
Come on.
But, you know, normal people just look in the mirror up at the shower to kind of see how they're doing in the nude.
But the thing is, though, you can't track it, can you?
You can't, like, fully track when you're just looking day to day.
No, and definitely sometimes you feel like nothing's changing.
Although, Dan, I must say, every single text that has come through is that they've
never done a nude photo before.
No.
Ella has asked, were you airing it out
or holding it?
I was just out, out and proud.
Right.
But look, clearly I'm in the wrong here,
so I'm happy to fall on my sword,
not an euphemism,
but I will...
More like a little...
Letter, no.
Oh, let it.
Yeah.
Easy money.
Time for your favorite game.
Easy money.
Two by seven, here we go.
30 seconds on the clock.
Your letter is P.
If you can give us 10 answers
without repeating any,
we'll give you a thousand bucks,
And like we said, P is a good one.
Yeah.
Lots of different sounding words with P.
P for teradactyl.
If you want to get really technical.
Absolutely.
Yep.
We even got like S sounds, pseudonym.
Psychology, psychologist.
Yeah.
F sounds with the H.
Yeah.
With, um, it's a pH.
Physics.
Phone.
Yep.
Yeah.
Plenty of options with P.
Luke is playing this morning.
Hi, Luke.
Hi, how you doing?
Yeah, good mate.
From the Manawatu.
You work as an aircraft mechanic.
Let's see if you can get a thousand
bucks in that bank account. Let's do this.
All right, time starts at the end of Meg asking your first question. Good luck, here we go.
Give me an animal.
Um, oh gosh.
Pots.
Something you'd find in the kitchen.
A pot.
A colour.
Pink.
A girl's name.
Phanelope.
An occupation.
Pilot.
Something you plug in.
A port.
store?
Possible.
Time, Luke.
Damn.
It wasn't a good start, was it?
The gun went off and you were like, what are we?
And it was like, go, go, go.
Do you want another go an animal?
Gosh, I can't even think of what to be honest.
Penguin, panda, peacock is what we had.
Yeah, we did say teradactyl at the start as well.
Teradactyl.
It would have been an option.
Hey, it's still early and it's Monday, Luke, so we'll give you a pass, bro.
Ironically, you gave us two of them.
Yeah.
Thanks for being the first cab off the rig.
It's always tricky, right, on a Monday.
Yeah, all right.
Back again at 8 o'clock to your chance to win a thousand bucks.
We got the A-lister next.
And there are a lot of people, whenever we release the list online,
arguing over some of the A listers that are there,
some of the B-listers that deserve to be A,
and there's always a lot of fighting.
So I wonder if we needed a bit of a tidy-up.
We can do a tidy-up.
I think, yeah, it does make a lot of people,
angry this segment where we put different
celebrities in a list, a B, list
or a C list in terms of fake.
And some
maybe they get a bad day
and they get put in the wrong list.
Yeah, sometimes we even look back and go,
what are you thinking?
This is the Clint Meg and Dan catch up.
Want to hear the guys off air and a little looser?
Listen and watch their Overtinkers
podcast. It's happening tomorrow.
It can be quite rage-baity because we can never all
agree on which celebrities deserve to be in the A list
versus the B in the C. And whenever we release
the list online, there's always
a lot of hate for certain celebrities
being in the wrong spot. You know, you always
have the passionate people that love
you know, your Brad Pitt's,
your Jason Statham's of the world.
I think Jason Statham, we put him at a B
but God that angered people, didn't it?
Did. Yeah, there was a lot of, you know,
basic bitches out there.
Once in a blue moon, our Meg
will allow us a tidy up of the list.
even though originally it used to be set in stone
but once in a while she's like you know what
every now and then only because the more that we change it
it has less legs to stand on
if we just change it all the time willy-nilly it's stuck
you must stand by you are
Jim Carrey was in the B list for a long time
and he got pushed up to an A list
during a tidy up once
and to be fair to defend us we don't decide
the final thing do we it's the listeners
it's everybody in New Zealand that does
and a lot of people when they see the list go
does Clint's dad know who that is Clint's dad
wouldn't even know because my dad historically and famously isn't great when it comes to celebrities,
but he should know everyone in the A list because that's the point.
Oh yes, he absolutely should.
So we have John on this morning.
Hi, John.
Good morning.
Good morning.
You know how to lay concrete, mate, don't know.
That was what you did for your career, but you don't know how to name a celebrity.
I don't think you know which Kardashian is which.
No, yeah, yeah.
All right.
All right, John, I've got some people that are on the A list and some on the B list.
So I'm trying to think if I'll swap them around.
so you don't know if they're going to fall or rise.
If he gets it correct in the right spot, they stay where they are.
If he knows who the person is and they're on the B list, they go up.
And if he doesn't know, they will drop down.
Wow.
Okay.
John, who is Angelina Jolie?
Yeah, an actor.
Yep.
Ding, she stays on the A list.
Congratulations, and she was on the A list.
So good.
John, who is Viola Davis?
No, don't know.
She stays on the B list.
She is an actor.
Okay.
Very good actress, I will say.
She's won multiple Oscars.
John, who is Taylor Swift?
Uh, singer.
Yep, she stays on the A list.
Wonderful.
Very popular.
So far the list is all correct.
So far the list is working.
Who is Ed Shearin?
Uh, yeah, singer.
Yep, A list stays.
Do you think you're still on the A list after all the controversy of the last few weeks?
I think actually he's more A-list.
Everyone knows him even more now.
John, who is David Schwimmer?
No.
I don't know.
Ross from friends he stays on the B-list.
So far, New Zealand, we've nailed this.
John's the perfect gauge.
I always thought Ross was hard done by.
Yeah.
Who is Jamie Fox?
Yeah.
American actor.
Ding, ding, ding, ding.
He stays on the A-list.
He stays on the A-List.
We would have also taken a singer as well because he does.
He did well.
John, who's Lord?
A famous singer.
You don't sound very...
I don't like that answer, John.
The Lord, yeah.
No, you said the Lord, no.
She stays on the B-list.
She stays on the B-list.
No, the Lord.
She's a famous biblical character.
She's staying on the B-list.
Yeah, she's a Kiwi singer.
Who is Ariana Grande?
Singer.
She's moving up to the A-list.
I think she was robbed to be on the B-list, so that's good.
Okay.
Okay.
Right, well, he's done very well so far.
I'm happy with that.
Okay.
Well done, John.
Very well-down.
Let's do one more.
Who's Reese Witherspoon?
Yeah, I've heard of the name.
Couldn't need more than that, John.
Yeah.
Christine in the background.
Big Witherspoon fan.
There's a lot on this because she may drop.
Okay, so she's currently in the A list.
Reese Witherspoon.
Singer.
No, she's gone!
She's gone.
She's gone.
She's gone.
Was she on the A list?
Oh, she needed to be beat.
Well, there we go.
I think John, this is a great gauge.
Okay, so Reese Willispoon drops to a B and Ariana goes up to an A.
David Schumer, sadly up the States where he is.
God, very good.
Thanks for helping us tidy up the list before tomorrow, Dad.
Okay, oh, good.
I'll let you go back to sleep and enjoy your retirement.
No, he was up already.
He was making coffees and stuff.
He said to us.
Oh, is he?
Yeah, he's always.
I've retired people always get up really early, eh?
Yeah, actually.
He's around Christine.
I think he's always up.
Oh.
Clint McGinn Dan.
Edge breakfast.
Clint Biggin, Dan, here we go.
We're going to be doing this one for a wee while,
giving you a chance to win some epic prizes, all thanks to Westpac.
And Nicole, the lucky little thing is the first one through.
And guess what?
It's the first time she's ever called here as well.
Good morning, guys.
Hey, Nicole.
Oh, my gosh, Nicole, good morning.
Whereabouts do you work?
Where are you from?
Christchurch, is it?
Yeah, I'm from Hornby Christchurch, and I work as a kitchen hand at Richard's Real Kitchen.
Now I was reading this about Richard's real kitchen
Someone needs to tell Richard that most people just assume
Most chefs have a real kitchen
I don't think he needs to say it in his name
What's the real thing about?
I'm really not sure
I haven't worked there for too long
But we make ready meals
Like for people that just chuck it in the oven
And it's ready
Is there another place called Richard's Kitchen
And he's not running real stuff
Richard's fake kitchen
You know
Maybe a few things
Okay Nicole it's a really really great thing
for you to have called up for the first time for I managed to get through
because this is a very exciting week for us to be working with Westpac.
Yeah, okay, you're about to find out what you've won
because Dan has a giant Westpac card.
He's going to tap it and we'll reveal your prize.
You ready?
Oh, too easy.
Okay, no, there's not much you have to do here, Nicole.
In fact, I'm doing the heavy lifting because it's a bloody heavy card.
Okay, here we go.
I'm picking it up and going up to the paywave machine.
Here we go, and...
$1,000 airpoints for flights to war.
What's your next travel adventure?
McCoy!
You're welcome.
Oh, that's going to go good.
Yeah, amazing.
Have you got any trips planned?
I do have a trip to Auckland at the end of the month.
And I've never been on a plane.
You've never been on a plane?
Any plane?
No, so exciting.
Oh, how cool.
This is going to be...
Oh, we need to document this, your first trip on a plane.
How exciting.
Yes.
And my first time on the edge.
Yeah, oh my God, what a day ends.
You've just won a thousand airports,
You can now go for the first time overseas, if you would like.
You could go to Fiji or Pacific Islands.
You can go somewhere Aussie, take somebody with you.
A thousand airports, all yours.
Oh, thanks so much, guys.
The world's your oyster.
Have you had an oyster before?
No.
There's a lot that Nicole hasn't done.
Nicole, you need to say yes to more stuff.
You've seen the movie Yes, man, which I'm carrying?
Yes, I think I'd be the start.
Oh, you've seen that.
Okay.
All right.
Hold there, Nicole, and we'll get those up.
AirPoint's out to you thanks to Westpac.

Tomorrow can float anywhere around the show.
All right.
Up next, we actually awarded the Scotchbinger
New Zealand's greatest biscuit last week.
Yeah, we had a big competition all week
putting different New Zealand biscuits up against each other.
And the Scotch finger took it out.
And I believe we have somebody who's now going to accept the award on behalf of Scotch fingers.
No, I don't think he's cancelled.
No, I don't think he has.
The Scottish community got really excited about their biscuit winning.
Yeah, I know, but the Scotsman that was coming on is unavailable.
And if you are now getting a little peckish and you're like, damn, I feel like a Scotch finger.
Every crap wins.
Scotch fingers.
Yeah, for the next 10 minutes, 0800 the edge.
If you want your very own pack, Arnitz has hooked us up to hook you up.
Yeah, but let's just do that.
Let's not talk to the Scotsman.
We're going to talk to the Scotsman.
Yeah, he's very excited.
And it's just for the next 10 minutes, isn't it?
So if you want to take any of Scotch fingers, we'll give it to you.
Carl, you put a request out to chat to Willie McBiscuit, didn't you?
Yeah, we got...
Yeah, Willie McBiscuit.
Okay, well, I think it's probably pointless to talk to him.
Let's just give away the biscuits.
Is his name really Willie McBiscuit?
I believe it is.
Well, Ed, he's got a fantastic score.
What a shit accent.
Sounds fake to me.
The three core wins.
Scotch fingers.
23-7 on Friday the Scotch Finger 1 New Zealand's greatest biscuits.
So, I'll send us a bunch.
So guess what, Charlotte?
We're going to send a couple of packs your way.
Hi, sure.
You're welcome, Charlotte.
Well, so Jenny's get her hands on some.
Hey, Jenny.
Hi.
Jenny, you're rather partial to a bit of a Scotch finger?
Yes, definitely.
Yeah, they're delicious, aren't they?
They are.
What would you like, one pack or two?
Oh, whatever's going?
I'd appreciate one.
That'd be great, yeah.
Absolutely.
There's a couple, babe.
Okay, and let's do one more for now.
Let's do Hayden.
Hayden, you want a couple of fingers, mate?
I believe it.
Oh, God, Hayden.
It's so stupid.
Hayden.
Do you prefer the chocolate or the plain scotch finger?
You've got to go to the chocolate ones.
I don't think we've got planes, sorry.
You always get you the plain way to say.
I mean, they are.
better with a bit of chocolate on them.
Hey, Hayden, you can decide as well.
Keep calling if you do want some Scotch fingers.
0,800. We'll sort you out with every caller wins.
Hayden, would you like to hear from Willie McBiscuit next?
Because he's going to accept the award on behalf of all the Scotsman.
Is our Scottish, what is he, correspond?
Yeah.
We've got to hear the price be accepted.
Yeah.
I don't know if he's available.
No.
I think he is.
I think we talked about talking to him on Friday and it seemed like a good idea.
And now over the weekend I've thought about it and I've gone, ah.
But you didn't make all the calls, do you?
Well, I don't know.
But, you know, sometimes I like to think of the boss.
Producer Carl?
That's weird.
I've got him on the line.
He's really keen to come on next, actually.
Is he?
Well, Hayden wants him, and we've already got him.
So, you know.
So as Hayden's opinion, more important than mine.
Yes, obviously.
Hayden basically writes the show's jokes by the text machine.
Thank you, Hayden.
Every crap runs.
Scotch fingers.
Yeah, aren't it?
Send us a bunch, so we better give him away on Monday.
So here we are.
We've got more people that want biscuits.
Bianca, morning.
Hi there.
Hi there.
You've won yourself some bickies.
Yum.
Yay, what a best way to start a Monday.
Yeah, good on you, Bianca.
Do you think it was well-deserved for the Scotch Finger
to take out the best biscuit in New Zealand?
Oh, absolutely.
There's nothing better than eating the chocolate ones,
but then Dunkin the plain ones.
I will say, though, over the weekend,
we've got a lot of DMs from angry people
that are not fans of the Scotch Finger
that say that, like, the mellow puffs should have won.
All right.
Let's rip through a few because then we've got a special guest to get on the show.
Yeah, okay. Pam, you win yourself some bickies.
Fabulous.
Wonderful, thanks Pam.
Danielle, you've also won yourself some scotch fingers.
Thanks, Tane.
It's going to go down and treat with the kids.
Appreciate it.
You're very welcome.
Right now that we do need to talk to Willie McBiscuit,
whose family created the recipe we heard allegedly of the Scotch finger.
Can we just also an amazing get from Carl?
Carl, thank you.
No worries, guys.
I took my whole weekend away from my family,
but I'm so glad we nailed it.
I just really strongly say,
I don't think Willie, what's his name,
McBiscuit, is prepared enough for this segment.
Oh, he's had a weekend to prepare, hasn't he?
Well, let's say Willie McBiscuit forgot.
He had to prepare for this.
Okay, well, if you don't want to be a part of it, Dan, you can leave.
You can leave.
Okay, well, I'm leaving the room.
Okay.
I'm washing my hands of anything to do with this.
See you later, buddy.
All right.
Meg and I will just talk to Willie McBiscuit,
the Scotsman whose family created
we hear allegedly the original recipe
I have confirmation he's on now
Willie McBiscuit, welcome to the show
First of all I'd like to thank
everybody in New Zealand for voting
for the Scotch finger
and I just say that for first off
it's a great deal to our family
as you know it was my great grandmother's recipe
we called her Two Fingers Margaret
Yeah.
Have you?
How did?
No, wait, Clint, I've got more.
And she'd be looking down on us right now.
I think she'd be feeling pretty chuffed about the whole situation.
Rough, that was rough.
How did your grandmother come up with the recipe, Willie McMiscuit?
Just use my first name.
Of Willie.
Willie.
Yeah, the story goes that she originally,
made one finger version
but then people were like
it's just not enough Margaret
so
she made the two finger version
so she started doing two fingers
yeah yeah yeah she preferred
and um but then some people
you know they still still said it wasn't
enough you know um I heard last week
Meg you did six fingers
yeah you did eat three of them didn't you
we got a minute stripped off a box full of them
I didn't meet any of them
thank you Clint
must have been one of the boys yeah
Hey, that's a really distinctive accent you've got, Willie.
What part of Scotland from, mate?
Is it?
Right.
Well, it's a great question, Clinton.
I'm from a town called Erindale.
Oh, I know.
I know someone, yeah, from there.
Elsa.
Do you know Anna?
And Olo?
Yes.
Oh, yes, they are in Olaf.
Yeah.
So, yeah, know them well.
But anyway, that's enough for me.
Yeah.
I don't remember them having accents in the movie.
But have you carried on the family business?
Willie?
No, because after we sold the recipe
to Arnitz in the 1980s,
I trained to become a groundskeeper.
So now
now I work at a school
and all the kids call me
groundskeeper, Willie.
I think Bart goes to your school, doesn't it?
Hey, Meg, you're going off script, baby, all right?
Okay, we're just...
Hey, well, just a big congratulations again,
Willie McBiscuit on the Scotch Finger
taking out New Zealand's greatest biscuit
if anyone's tuned in halfway through this,
wondering what the hell's going on?
we're not sure either.
Short of breaks with your team.
Okay, bye.
Get your Clint Meg and Dan Fax.
Right now though, the male triangle theory
that I've seen floating around on the internet over the weekend.
Ladies, do we agree?
It's a guy who's actually pitching this one
saying that all guys will fit into the triangle,
but you can only find a man that possesses two of the three qualities
that exist at the peak of each triangles.
That sounds like a pyramid or a triangle.
Because you know how you see the food pyramid.
Well, I guess the pyramid the top would be more important.
This is kind of like an equal thing.
And at each point of the triangle, you have handsome, rich and loyal.
This is so sad.
You can only have two.
Yeah, so if you get a guy...
Is that embarrassing for you guys?
If you get a guy who is handsome and rich, it's probably not very loyal.
Oh, so you can only have two, yeah.
That's terrible.
If he's rich and he's loyal,
it's probably not very handsome.
What?
And if he's handsome and loyal,
probably doesn't have any money.
Right.
Okay, well, my husband does put into that one.
Does he think about it?
Handsome and loyal, but he's...
I'd say he's just loyal.
Hey!
He's gorgeous, my hobby, I'm very lucky.
Is there any guys that are just one?
Because I'm not rich and I'm not handsome.
But I'd say I'm pretty loyal.
Oh, that's nice. I think you're handsome.
make you know you're probably rich
I guess it depends on how
you know rich is
you're rich
yeah thanks to my wife
and that's why I'm loyal to her
so who's all three Clint
well according to this guy
the only one that has potential
to be all three
is gay guys
and is this guy gay
the guy that's made the triangle
I'm unsure but he said the only one that he knows
the only people he knows
that are handsome rich and loyal
is gay friends
but straight men only can possess two of the
of the male triangle theory.
So Clint, you're handsome and rich?
Well, I wouldn't like that, actually, if my wife's this thing.
You've got to put loyal in there somewhere.
I know, I mean, you're loyal, but you also talk a lot about how you would love to be with Megan Fox.
So I feel like if any of those...
Who wouldn't?
Let's be honest, yeah.
Okay, yeah, maybe.
But he doesn't...
I think loyalty is having those feelings, but not acting on them.
So maybe Clint is a trifecta.
Yeah, but do we want to give him that?
Like, do we want to give him the satisfaction?
He's handsome, rich and loyal.
According to the man you've got a, you're gay if you've got all three.
Which, I mean, could be.
Could be.
I mean, it would really piss me off if Clint is all three.
But I'm not, I don't think, I'm not rich.
Clint's richer than me.
It would just be interesting now when you start dating,
if you're single ladies, you're going out and you're like,
oh, and you work out which two of you is?
Or if he is all three, maybe that's the one that you lock down.
That's the one where you go, oh my God, he is all three.
He's a rare breed. He's the unicorn.
Marry him up.
Someone's texts through saying Prince William fits all three.
I mean, he's, I guess you could say he's arguably handsome.
He's rich.
He's part of the royal family.
Is he loyal, though?
I don't think anyone would ever know if he's loyal.
I don't think William's here good looking.
Oh, gay.
Maybe you are all three.
Yeah, he's definitely the three.
There we go.
We found one.
He's a living, breathing one.
Clint Megadan
All right
Easy money's back at 8 o'clock
A thousand bucks
And of course
Those tickets to Harry Siles
That'll be a fun way
A fun thing to announce
Interestingly
A couple of women have text through
For that theory as well
Saying it's bang on
For straight guys
If girls are
So there is
No one fits the three
According to Sarah
Yeah just one of the male theory
Is correct
Male Triangle theory
Maybe when you're out there dating
We'll see
Or we can talk to
I love Jenny about it
When she joins us again this week
Yeah, that's a good idea.
Coming on next, we've got a bit of an idea to help a business around New Zealand.
So we're looking for someone that owns some sort of business.
It could be any business.
We're looking at small to medium, though, aren't we?
We don't want you conglomerates.
But if you're a plumber, a builder, maybe you own an accountancy firm, something like that, you need a bit of...
Share dresser.
A bit of PR.
This is your moment.
Give us a call.
0800 The Edge.
Take the edge off your day with Clint Meg and Dan.
Edge.
A good idea that was inspired by...
Something that Anne Hathaway actually did last week.
You may have heard her shouting out of Kiwi business.
Yeah, she said that she loved using a body oil called Pure Mama on her baby bump,
which is a Kiwi company.
Incredible, it has been for them and boosting their worldwide knowledge of their brand and product.
And so we thought we could do something similar.
Yeah, if you missed it.
So I have a three-step bump routine.
And I think it's called, it's an oil called by Pure Mama.
And that seems to have been a game changer.
Yeah, that's, I mean, it's,
Yeah, if you're, she's the most pre, what's the word,
famous pregnant person in the world at the moment, isn't she really?
And if you want that person talking about your business.
Free endorsement, how good.
So if you've got a business and you're like, yeah, mate, can't hurt.
We're going to each be given a random song to try and come up with a jingle in 24 hours for your business to just try and help sales.
Yeah, okay, let's go to Zanthi.
Morning, Zanthi.
Good morning.
First of all, what a fabulous name that is Zanth.
I have to thank your parents for that when I mentioned.
I remember that.
Okay, well, before we find out what Zanthi does, I'll take Zanthi.
I'm getting a good vibe already.
So I'll probably Zanthi for yourself.
Maybe Meg and I want Zanth.
Okay.
Damn.
What am I promoting?
So I have a proposal planning business.
So I help men plan their proposals through their partners.
So cool.
Yeah, I've done about, yeah, I've done about 100.
60 of them and like 80% of my clients are from overseas.
Wow.
So, do you know what?
It's funny because you'd have some people being like,
why can't he just playing it himself?
But maybe there is more thought that the fact that he thought,
I'm going to put so much even into this and make sure it's perfect.
I think that's quite special.
What are you planning for them Zanthe out of interest?
Like are you planning location?
Yeah.
Are you planning like a little bit of confetti when the person says yes?
What's going on?
Yeah, yeah.
So I have a few stylists that, you know, I have around.
New Zealand, so they will help to kind of set up, you know, the idea that they have for the day.
Or if they just want to go on a helicopter, we can go on a helicopter, or, you know, do a lot on
on Oaxiki Island, especially like everyone that's coming from overseas, they kind of don't know
New Zealand, so they need a lot more help.
That's very cool.
And do they normally have an idea, but they just don't know how to execute it because
they're not used to being in our country?
Yes, yes.
And obviously, they don't know who to contact to make sure.
they can like pull it off yeah okay well i got a bunch of songs here i'm gonna you pick a random
number between one and ten and i will play that song and that will be the theme to the jingle okay
which will play you out tomorrow okay zanthe one to ten what do you got uh number eight
number eight five six seven eight oh my god of course clum gets the absolute perfect song for the
perfect company i could write that right now i help you say i do oh that is good
We're going to give him a line, Megan.
Well, God, how long.
So right, it's going to get that.
Oh, we'll find out next.
Listen to your favorite breakfast show whenever you like.
Clint Meg and Dan.
We are giving you the chance to get a bit of free advertising for your business.
After Anne Hathaway did a bit of a shout-out for a Kiwi business,
we thought maybe you tell us a little bit about yours.
We'll get you to pick a random number that is attached to a random song and we'll create a jingle.
So Anne just did it mention, didn't she?
We're going above and beyond here.
We're doing a full jingle.
Yeah, classic us.
All right, let's go to Paige.
Page, what is your company?
Oh, actually, who's going to get Paige?
Me or Dan.
Dan.
Okay, why are you the boss?
I want a page anyway.
Morning, Paige.
Morning.
Okay, Paige.
So you own a company called what?
Little cute Kiwis.
Little cute Kiwis.
Okay, what are you specialise in?
Cute Kiwis, I guess.
So, yeah, I specialize in watercoloring Kiwis.
Beautiful.
Illustrated.
Yeah.
Like really Kiwi.
like wearing gunboots and the good old farmer's bucket hat.
And I've got a calendar to sell.
And it's based...
Go on.
On a Kiwi.
It's based off like Foottrop Flats kind of series, kind of inspiration from that.
Page Hickling Art, correct?
Oh, there you are.
Oh, God, they're so cute.
They're lovely.
And how much you're charging for these Kiwi-based calendars?
$35 each.
$35, right?
Nice.
and you've got to pick a number between 1 and 10,
and it will be attached to a song that Dan is going to then create your jingle from.
Cool.
Seven, please.
Seven, okay, let's see what number 7 is.
Seven, good luck, Dan.
It's this.
Mambo number five.
An absolute classic page.
Are you fan of Lou Baker in this song?
It's all right.
Okay, she's not stoked.
But let's it count down, I suppose.
Okay, so what I'm going to have to do is
somehow crowbar your business
into the song.
Okay, well, Paige will get you back on tomorrow
and see if you like the jingle.
Joe.
Joe, you're stuck with me, darling, so sorry.
So sorry.
That's okay, no problem.
They say the best for laugh, don't they?
Joe, I think, I'm so sorry.
You must be gutted, but you have got me.
So let's see what we're at.
So, Joe, what's your company?
I'm JW contracting services
in Dunedin here.
I do anything from lawns, hedges, retaining walls, fencing, landscaping,
specialising all the small sort of stuff for people.
Also, we've done a lot of charity stuff for churches in the past,
and I kind of have this system where, you know, if you need a service
and you can't pay for the whole thing, we do it anyway,
and we just kind of just at least try to cover our costs.
Joe, not a great business model, if I'm honest.
You know, but I do like that, Joe.
You can't pay, they do it anyway.
That rhymes.
I've got about 3,000 customers off and on in Dunedin here.
About 250-dollar service regularly every fortnight.
And to be fair, a lot of my customers are happy to pay a few dollars here and there.
Oh, towards it.
Yeah, to help me do things for other people.
I like to sort of pay it forward.
I love that, Joe.
I love that.
Okay, so lawns, hedges, fencing, things like that.
So things in the garden, garden stuff.
I'm just running up my notes.
Need a pick a number between 1 and 10?
You can't have 7 or 8 already going.
What do you want, Joe?
Let's go three.
Three.
Okay, three is...
What about Clintz?
Jesus.
Free style of a bomb punk in season.
Good luck with that, me.
What a good.
God, are you joking?
Bloody how.
You've got your work cut out for you, that's for sure.
I do, Joe.
I do.
Are we sure we don't want another number?
We're stuck with that one.
Damn, you should have got Mambo number five because I could have gone,
he does lawns, hedges, fencing and landscaping.
And as I continue, you could have done that.
All right, 24 hours, mate.
We'll come back with your jingle this time tomorrow, Joe.
Good luck.
Appreciate your time, guys, thank you.
Coming up on the edge breakfast.
Easy money, thousand bucks on the line if you want to crack at it.
10 ounces and 30 seconds.
0800 the edge.
And then we give away that trip to Sydney to see Harry Stiles in 10.
Easy money.
One letter, 10 k degrees, and just 30 seconds.
Let's play.
Easy money.
Here we go, your letter is W.
If you can give us 10 answers, starting with W without repeating any in 30 seconds.
The cash is yours.
Thousand bucks.
Hey, Isaac.
How's it going?
Good.
You ready to win a thousand bucks?
Oh, mate, I've never been more ready.
Okay, great.
Isaac, it's W for Wellington, which I believe you're from.
Yes, I am.
Yes.
Okay, here we go.
Time starts at the end of Meg asking.
you your first question, good luck.
Cheers.
Give me a girl's name.
William.
A drink.
Water.
A sport team.
What, sorry?
Sports team.
Wellington Wildcats.
Something with wheels.
With God.
Wheelchair.
A chair part.
Sorry, a car part.
Wheels.
A tool.
A winch.
Something at the beach?
Water.
An animal.
Whale.
Time.
Giving us water twice.
I mean, the girl's name, William.
I don't know how you get that one past the house.
I googled is William a girl's name?
And it said no.
I don't know.
But that's a thing.
It's hard, is that?
Because I was just talking to the boys the other day.
The biggest trend in names at the moment is, like, your dad's name for a girl.
It's like Steve or Stevie, Frankie, Tommy, Tommy,
I mean, it would be, you could argue it.
If you were like, well, I'm thinking having a daughter and I'm going to call her Willie.
I mean, what is our boss going to do then?
Willamina.
Yeah, Willamina is the female version.
Yeah.
That's what I meant.
That's what I mean.
Didn't you just say you've never been more ready in your life like before, like three seconds before?
I mean, we said girls name.
I've still got the Monday series, but, yeah.
Thanks, what I say.
It's fun chatting with you, bro.
He gave us a laugh, didn't he?
He did.
He did.
He did give us a laugh.
Very exciting.
We give away a trip to Harry Stiles in Sydney, flights and accommodation.
Edge Breakfast, Clint McGahn.
The Edge Fistie Besties is back.
It's us!
And this time we could be sending you and your bestie to see Harry Styles live in Australia.
You get to make a Harry Styles sign, take a pick of it, and then upload it to Rover,
and then hopefully take that sign with you.
Yeah, because Harry Styles, as we know Meg famously reads out signs, Disney loves to stop.
down the show, go around the audience and read out signs.
In fact, I went to the Wiggles over the weekend.
They did the same thing.
They do do the same thing.
They go and collect them all, don't they?
Yeah, they collect them and I don't think Harry necessarily collects them all,
but he does like to read them out.
No, he does.
And if he doesn't read them, there are a lot of videos of him.
You can see reacting to them, even if he doesn't say anything.
He does a lot of raised eyebrows and bits and bobs.
And I think you have to get pretty clever these days with all the concerts he's done
to really catch his attention.
He's seen some singers.
A lot of last-minute signs.
came in on Friday, were any of them good enough to clinch the flights, accommodation and a double pass for you and your bestie to see Harry Stiles live in Sydney?
So when it is, Jess.
Jess, you're going to Harry Stiles.
Oh my God!
Yes, yes, babe, you did it.
Dead serious.
He'd never an Aussie.
Jess, what did your sign say?
surprised.
New mom.
Oh, it's up on the screen here.
Pumped the boobies, let's get groovy.
Love it.
It's got a breast pump attached to it.
Oh, that's clever.
So you're going to have to pump your boobies again, I guess, before you go to the concert.
What's the window between pumping the boobies and then having to do it again?
A few hours, I think.
So you have a window?
A few hours.
Yeah, we'll be all good for the groovies.
It's all good.
And then if you want to have a few drinks, you've got a pump and dump, I guess.
we will not have any problems
it's all right, guys
so, yeah, Jess is like trying to
she's like, I've got to brag new baby,
I'm now going to tell the partner
I enter this competition, I'm going to Ozzy.
Like she's got all these things to figure out
I'm like, oh God, I've done it.
Now Jess, this is incredible for you
because these concerts, these Harry Styles concerts,
are completely sold out.
They sold out months ago.
Yeah.
So you are one of the few people in the world
that has just got tickets.
So congratulations.
Oh my God.
Thank you so, so much.
This is amazing.
Yeah.
You're going to have the best time.
didn't come to New Zealand, so we wanted to get you there.
So take photos, send us
and we'd love to live vicariously through you, Jess.
Absolutely.
And you need to take the sign as well.
You need to put it into your carry-on or into your checked luggage.
Explain it every time you go through.
Definitely, definitely.
Thanks, Jess.
See you, mate.
Oh, what a Monday.
What a start.
She's like, how am I going to figure this out?
Love it. Happy for her.
Meg experienced something over the weekend that might feature,
and I think should feature in the top 10
worst pains of all time. Well, I've written my
list of the worst pains of all time that I've experienced
from 1 to 10 and I've put this
whereabouts it sits because neither of you.
Actually, I don't think anybody on the show has never experienced.
But you've never been kicked in the balls, so...
We don't wonder where she's put that in the top 10.
The Edge is the home of Clint Megandandan.
The Edge.
Clint Megandandan, Edge Breakfast brought to you
by MTV Finance, your local money experts
for personal and business finance.
I got something done for the first time on Friday,
which I was a little bit apprehensive because I've
It's very, very painful to experience.
I was telling Clint about it.
And he said maybe you could put rally together a list of the most painful experiences
that you think are known to men, top 10 lists.
Painful pains or just painful experiences like talking to someone?
That's a whole different list.
Sorry, pains.
So I got tattoo removal over on Friday.
No, I've kept the ones in my vagina.
So I've decided those ones are staying after realizing the pain.
But someone that doesn't want to talk about them, she mentions them a lot.
Because I knew it was coming up.
I knew the joke was there.
It's gone.
You're going to front foot it before we can get a gag in.
Exactly, Clint.
No, I got microblane.
I got eyebrow.
My eyebrows tattooed on six years ago.
And they did it in a style and like a trend, which is like a straight eyebrow.
And for a very long time, I had two eyebrow tails.
And it's a pluck out or wax the end of my tail to keep the tattooed tail.
I should have spoken up and said, that's going to be really annoying or thought about it.
Long story short, I am really, sorry.
I'm really, really sick of it.
And so I went and got them removed for the first time.
I've got another few sessions to go.
I wonder why she was looking less surprised.
Well, they say the tattoo removal was far more painful than the tattoo.
And I thought, doing that on your face.
It's got to be awful.
And that's what she said.
Because I said to her afterwards, I was like, ooh, like that is spicy, like pain.
And I said, I feel like a bit of an idiot because it's such a small area.
She said it's much more painful on the face because of the nerve eddies and stuff.
So I have put that at a six, at my six.
on my list. At number six. So number one's the most painful?
Yes. Number one's the most painful. I put tattoo removal, laser removal of a tattoo at number six.
This is my list so far. Number 10, I've started very mildly.
Banging your elbow, but really, really, really bad.
Oh, yeah, that's hurt. Funny bones.
You know, like, you're just meant to be a funny bone, but it really hurts if you get it really badly.
You know, it's that sort of pain where you swear.
Like you have to swear. And you're like, damn, damn, damn.
Number nine, I put a full Brazilian wax.
Okay. Okay? We're still kind of mild. I have a gap for number eight. I have a space. So I'd love somebody to think about what hurts more than a Brazilian wax, but less than slamming the tip of your finger in a door or jamming it somewhere. Yikesy, yikesy. The tip of the finger is like full of nerve endings. I remember screaming a long time about that one. Can I add in tooth pain, like a toothache? Do you want to put that in number eight?
I think it's not necessarily excruciating, but it's the type of pain that's very, it can.
be painful if you're eating a certain thing.
Dan's giving me number eight then.
Okay.
I had something happen to me over the weekend that might fit somewhere in the top ten.
Well, we'll see what spaces I've left.
Okay, so we have.
Save me the finger.
Then number six, tater removal.
Number five, dislocation of something.
I've dislocated my knee.
So something on that, at the arm socket or...
Then I have a space for four, three and two,
and then number one is induced birth with no pain relief.
Yeah.
Yeah, I think the birthing would be an easy...
Yeah, so...
But then I have spaces between...
between knee dislocation and foot birth and being kicked in the testicles.
And that's my thing.
I do feel like they're on a similar plane.
Would you like me to put that at number two?
I think I've always wanted to do the test where if we could get someone that is about to give birth,
and then we plan to have Clint there that day, and then someone kicks Clint in the balls while you're crowning.
See who complains more.
See who wishes more.
I mean, we'll put it down the book.
Someone's texting saying raise a scooter to the ankle.
You know, and they're like spinning around
And it's terrible
Kicking your little toe on something
Like the end of the coffee table, that's a nightmare.
Yeah?
Yeah.
I over the weekend was just doing some work out in the yard
And a few nails fell out of my toolbox
And one of them fell standing straight up
But I was walking away from the nail
And I literally said to myself,
Don't stand on that when you walk back
And I went to the garage and I got something,
came back, guess what I forgot?
stood straight on top of it.
Oh my God. Did it not go through?
Yeah, it went through into my foot
and I pulled it out and the worst part
was obviously just as you continue to walk
for the rest of the day. It just feels like it's still in there
so that wasn't fun. Okay.
But I'm not going to put it anywhere near childbirth.
No, but there's the number four spot.
We've got four, three and two.
I mean, I can get rid of one in them if you want
but this has been the list of the worst pain.
And he said he ruptured his testicle.
He said that's the worst pain ever.
I can imagine that would be fairly painful.
on Lego. Can we put that at number 10?
Can we move all the other ones up?
Get your Clint McGinn, Dan Fax.
We're trying to compile the top 10 worst pains
of all time after Medicare to have face lasered.
Yeah, I've been through a few things.
I think every person has that you get something.
Whereabouts is that set?
I put Tadder removal at 7, and number one for me was
induced birth, no pain relief.
And I think it's different for people's birth.
Some people like smile through birth
because they have like natural ones
but I think it's very different
I bossed mine thank you very much
I think it's very different if you have one
that medication is brought on because it's very fast
smiling through it is crazy
How is that possible?
Galstones is the worst pain ever worse than childbirth
and I'd given birth three weeks earlier
God that's
I don't
I feel sorry for that your body
you just went through those two things within a month
Yeah that's mental
Goldstones has come through a bit eh
Yeah gallstones definitely has to be up there somewhere
Yeah, I think that maybe is number two.
Number two so far.
There's women that are saying that it was worse.
Okay, let's go to Jono.
Let's go to Johno.
Morning, Jono.
So do you think this pain, before you say what it is,
do you think it'd be worse than childbirth?
Oh, I can't measure that, mate.
Okay, but you get it.
Wise answer.
But, Johnno, when do you think it sits on scale from 1 to 10,
because I know you're not saying it's number one,
But where does this sit?
Is this a number very up there, number two or three,
or are we looking at more of four or five?
Oh, call me a softie, but I've got two.
One was getting my palm tattooed.
Okay.
Oh, wow.
That was excruciating.
Wow.
And number one for me was having my nose done
and my tonsils removed as an adult.
Oh, wow.
I haven't even thought that they were like afterwards.
The aftercare?
Aftercare on the tonsils was horrific.
Oh, my God.
Okay.
Was it a botched thing or was that?
just the norm?
No,
supposedly it's just the norm.
And you just have to grit and bear
for about 10 days on it.
Okay.
No deal.
Okay, thank you, John.
We'll put the...
Palm Tadder was so specific.
Someone got their tight snagged in the carpet
and their foot folded back in half
so the ball of their foot and their heel clapped.
Broop most of the bones across the top
of my foot.
Five screws and two plates.
Okay, dokey.
Again, that's quite specific, isn't it?
Okay, okay.
Sure, yeah.
Okay, I saw somebody said a really bad sunburn.
I've had that.
It's called Devil's Evel's.
You have to almost like, it's like the nerve.
That's not from the sun, me.
No, no, it's like the nerve endings
almost like it get fried.
That's crazy.
Yeah, it might have been because you were sleeping
with some random dudes in some tent over the summer.
I should have put it on my list.
The devil.
Very bad.
Rochelle,
Hello.
Rochelle, first off,
where are you putting this on the list?
One to ten.
I'm probably putting it similar to where you were my brow fingers.
Okay, so six or seven.
Okay, okay.
Okay, six, seven.
All right, what is it?
What's the pain, Rochelle?
So I was at the gym six weeks ago, and I was doing a step drag,
and tried to just do the last pull, and it hit the front of my shoe,
and I ripped my toenail straight off.
Yay!
Yay, yay, yay, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
So we're going to swap out slamming the tip of your finger in a door
with a thing big toe nail ripped off.
Yeah, ripping a nail clean off.
The fact of you put that, where did she put that as a step,
seven.
Yeah.
Like that is,
what is more painful than that apart from childbirth?
Really?
Well, Nelly has a pain that sits even higher.
Nellie, what happened to you?
A couple of years ago, we were in a car accident and been hit with the airbag.
Until I got my senses back, I thought I'd been hit in the face with the engine.
Right.
Wow.
It was, yeah, it's so painful.
And then when I came to my senses, realized there wasn't an engine sitting in my lap,
I thought my face was on fire.
Right, so...
Oh my God, I thought it was a nice soft cushion.
That's what it's supposed to be, right?
It's supposed to save you in an impact, but it's made you...
Well, I suppose probably could have been worse.
So you're okay now?
Oh, fine.
Yeah, no, no, fine.
I only had a black eye, but yeah, that was probably the worst experience I've ever had,
so I put it at a one.
Was the black eye from the airbag?
I presume so.
Isn't that interesting?
I didn't have anything else?
I wonder then if you hadn't had airbags installed whether you wouldn't have had the black eye.
Isn't that interesting?
Thank you.
Okay, thanks, Sally.
Which is worse.
Declan says, I know.
I shut the car boot on my nuts.
Don't shut the car boot while you're naked.
That's on you.
Yeah, that's on you.
And also, how dangly are you nuts?
And the other one, my dad ran me over with a boat on accident in brackets,
and my face collided with the propeller.
Again, I think it's quite a specific pain.
How do I write that out?
I think that's got to be number two.
Is that worse than childbirth?
All right.
We've got to let's settle this next.
We'd love to get your opinion on something actually both Chris Hipkins and Christopher Luxon agreed on
that should be a rule for New Zealand, and I strongly disagree.
Clint's really angry about this.
Yeah.
And I thought maybe first day back at school.
It's probably quite fitting next.
Clint Megan Dan.
Edge Breakfast.
The Edge.
Somba on the edges is 23 to 9.
Clint Megan Dan.
It's Clint Megan Dan.
Let's settle this.
Let's settle this right now.
If you can wait and help us settle this, we'll get away a double part.
We're also a must-see movie written and directed by Tyke Waititi and stars Jenna Ortega.
It's in cinema's October 22nd.
Clara in the Sun.
The trailer looks epic.
Can't wait to see it's a great book as well if you want to read it first.
I saw our own Harrison Keith interviews, Tyker.
Last week, yeah.
Great interview as well.
It looks like they have a great before.
Yeah, for sure.
Clara in the Sun is kind of like if you can't make friends,
you can go and buy like an AI robot friend.
But it appears to be like a normal human.
But of course, you know, it's AI.
You're buying friends.
And I think she's a little defunct.
Yeah.
That sounds like something you'd do, Clint.
I think when they become available, like Apple releases its first AI human weight,
he'd be first in line, wouldn't he?
I've got enough friends, I think.
You've got so many friends.
But I mean, if this one's going to do everything I say,
I don't have friends that do that.
I reckon you'd be there.
All right, well, yeah, give us a call.
Maybe I'll sort you out with our double pass.
I thought first day back at school
Something that was discussed on the leaders debate
Jack Tame ended up doing a quick fire round towards the end
I didn't see this when it happened
But I've seen it circling social media over the weekend
Both leaders of Labor and National agree
And I was like, eh? Not for me, mate
Should parents be allowed to take their kids out of school
For a family holiday?
I would prefer they didn't
Should parents be allowed to take their kids out of school
For a family holiday?
Christopher Luxem
My kids, man, my rules.
Yeah, we know.
We know your kids go out of the holiday.
I remember this back when I was at high school,
and the principal was, she, my goodness, Mr. Prendergast,
she really honed down on people having time off that wasn't on school holidays.
And one of my friends got absolutely reinforced her.
Her mother had to go on to defend her to be like, my child, my rules.
Yeah, what about, like, I mean, people that homeschool their kids.
And, I mean, can you temporarily, like, go, what's the curriculum over the next couple of days?
teach them? It's definitely like a society thing
don't you think in the way that you sit there and go, well
okay, but then you give me the school holidays.
Then everybody hikes up the prices so I can't afford
a family holiday because
the flights and the accommodation
and everything costs more for the holidays because it's the busiest.
So if the only way I'm going to get a family
holiday is to take it outside of that time...
You can't be in this argument because your kids have been raised more
by Mickey Mouse and Elsa from Frozen
than their teacher.
So you can't...
I also follow the...
bucket list family who you may follow
on social media and their kids are like
in the water swimming with humpback whales
they posted somewhere over the weekend and they're in
the African desert and surely the life experience
that those kids are getting
has to in some way outweigh
the education they might be getting
at school. Yeah maybe and it would be
awesome if they could do that without it being broadcast
to millions of people around the world having to see
their lives like they're living
in like the Truman Society of having
their whole lives completely broadcast to
strangers in ex
change for being able to live around the world.
If you're travelling to school right now in the car with your parents,
stay in school kids.
Don't listen to what Clint says.
I just wonder, am I in the minority thinking that
if I want to take my kids out of school for a couple of weeks
to give them this experience and these life skills,
then I shouldn't be doing that.
I should be leaving them in school so that they can, I don't know,
what are they doing today?
Is there any adults listening now that their parents took them out of school
Willie nearly every second week like Clint does with his kids?
What are you doing now?
Yeah.
Or are you a parent that thinks,
no, we should stick to the school holidays?
What is that?
Yeah.
I wait under the Edge.
Listen live weekdays from Sex on Rover
and catch up wherever.
This is Clint Meg and Dan.
The Edge.
Six things to Nine Edge.
It's Clint Megan Dan's.
And let's settle this.
Let's settle this right now.
They disagree with what the leader
of the National and Labor Party said during the debate.
Should parents be allowed to take their kids out of school
for a family holiday?
I would prefer they didn't.
Should parents be allowed to take their kids out of school for a family holiday?
Christopher Luxem.
No.
And that's why Clint's voting New Zealand first this year.
Yeah, we want to know your experience of it.
Obviously, we're just three people in a room with windowless box,
and we'd love to know the actual outside opinion of New Zealand when it comes to,
should kids be allowed to do this?
You may it sound like we're trapped in this box forever.
I feel like we are.
We just want someone from the outside world to talk.
Somebody.
As she said, I think there should be a leave allowance.
Like you have at work outside of school holidays.
They have an allowance that you can use up.
I think maybe it affects older kids more.
Because I think back to my primary school education.
I don't know if I was missing much over a couple of weeks off.
Yeah, like maybe you don't know as much about volcanoes as...
Yeah, but do you need to know much about volcanoes?
That's the argument.
Somebody texts them before we go to the phones.
We take our kids out of school one week before school holidays start once a year.
they are back for the start of the new term
so it's more like a three week break I imagine
if it's a two week break off
The last week of turn not much happens anyway
Like the teachers are kind of winding up the lessons
I imagine once the kids are older
We'll rethink the timing for hitting away
That's when they roll out the projector eh
Last week is still
I mean the last week they can't really start anything new I guess
Okay let's go to Gina on 0800 the edge
Morning Gina
Oh good morning
What's your views on this
Oh I think it's ridiculous
Yeah the school holidays are just shocking
You try and go somewhere and it's packed out and there's cues everywhere.
So we're going to a wedding for a week next week on holiday.
And I said to my son,
school know you're going to be away.
And he said to me, oh, now we'll just tell them I've got COVID.
Otherwise they'll moan.
And if I've got COVID, they'll be fine.
And I can just go back the following week and no one will even know.
It's so true.
That makes it easier.
It does.
It is funny how, like, even at work, we can say, hey, I've got COVID.
It's like stay off for a week.
week, but it's like, hey, I've got a once-in-a-lifetime experience opportunity.
I would like two days off. They're like, no, it's not possible.
And Meg was saying off here as well, if the bloody teachers didn't take all their teacher-only
days, we wouldn't be having this issue.
No, careful, because Chris is a teacher.
She's on now.
I'm always very pro-teachers.
Hi, Chris.
Hi, how are you?
Good.
What's your view as a teacher?
Our parents ripping their kids out of school outside of school hires.
See, I'm with Chris and Chris on this, I'm afraid.
Go on, yeah.
Okay.
Yeah, yeah.
I mean, I'm a teaching assistant.
Yeah.
And, I mean, it's hard enough as it is, like keeping kids up with what they're learning.
Yeah.
But if you take kids out of school for two weeks, you know, by the time they've come back,
usually they've moved on to a new topic.
So you have to spend all that time taking away from the kids who need help on a new topic
to teach the kid the topic they've already missed.
Can you, how many parents, Chris, actually will go.
I'm taking my kid out of school for two weeks.
Can you give me the curriculum so I can teach them at while we're away?
As far as I know, none.
Yeah.
Yeah, they want a holiday too, Clint.
True.
That's really interesting, Chris.
For some reason, you know, I kind of sat there and thought, oh, they'll just catch up.
But I guess when their brains are learning so much, you have to still teach them what they missed.
Yes, that's right.
That's right.
And it's all right saying, oh, you know, it won't matter.
They're only nine or ten.
They can catch up.
but half of the time what they've missed,
they need further down the line to help with the next topic.
So if they don't have that base of what they're the beginning,
they can't follow on further along the line.
I think that's what happened to me, Chris.
It's a knock on effect.
That's what happened to me with the week they covered reading,
because I'm not that good at that.
And I think I went away.
I went away for two weeks, I think.
Oh, they just taught reading in that two weeks, but.
And they're like, I'm covering this and we're not doing it again.
Chris, I appreciate you representing the teachers.
Hold there, we'll give you a double pass to Clara and the Sun.
It's our must-see movie.
I saw a stat and I just googled it and make sure it was right.
My daughter's almost 12.
But the time your child turns 12,
you have already spent approximately 75%
of the total face-to-face time
that you will ever get with them in your lifetime.
Yeah, but they still need school.
Yeah, I know, but I guess that's why for me,
maybe I'm justifying the experiences
and going and creating memories with my children
because I know I'm running out of time
because you don't realize how quickly that evaporates.
Is that for you or for them?
Oh, interesting.
Hopefully it's for both of our benefit of it.
Yeah.
I'd like to see their exam when they do bed masks and like statistics and stuff.
Yeah.
Luckily, I think you also have bright kids, Clint.
It would be hard for kids that are maybe not as naturally gifted.
Do you know what I mean?
They're struggling and then you're ripping them out.
Oh, producer car.
We're not looking directly at you.
I did not.
It looked very much like you were looking over this way.
But hand up for myself, I should have spent more time in school.
Stay in school kids who end up producing.
