Starting point is 00:00:00 This is a podcast from Rover. Edge breakfast. Friday, baby, we made it. Roll call. Who's there. Richie, see your text. Richie's already there. Tony's already here. If you don't text a lot, maybe just let us know who you are
Starting point is 00:00:20 so we can add your name to our system. Marty's there early Sanjay. He got in at like 457. Morning days. Happy Friday to everybody. Another fast week. Yeah, well, actually, Dan, I'm agreeing with you on this one. I cannot believe it's Friday already.
Starting point is 00:00:36 mental times. We start sliding down that slide until Christmas now. Hell yeah. Hell yeah. Clint, do you want me to buy your coffee this morning? Oh, I just finished one. But that's so lovely. Have you?
Starting point is 00:00:47 Okay, that's fine. And I don't know if it's good for my headaches. Anyone listening? Anyone just wake up with random headaches all of a sudden, and they're like, almost like every day now? You should get that check, Clint. Yeah. I think random headaches is never a good thing.
Starting point is 00:01:01 Right. I don't think if they've just started coming on, I think there's something you need to fix. Tell me what you think. that could be. Meg and I are like the opposite when it comes to health stuff. Meg's getting anxious for me and I'm like, if it's still there in a month.
Starting point is 00:01:14 Dan, a few months I'm going to have to find you anchor. And he's getting, you know, and he's getting to that age with blood pressure is a thing. You know, so you need to get your blood pressure check. You might need blood thinners. But no, that's very nice of you, Meg, thank you. Yeah, no. Dan, you've got one too. I can see.
Starting point is 00:01:26 Yeah, I make my coffee in the morning. I normally do it. I left it at home. Sophia says, FYI, sex is really good for headaches. Proven tension release. Maybe that's why I'm getting the headaches. Yeah, he's thinking about it, but not getting any. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:38 Clint, are you joking? When was the last time? Your drought? How long was your drought? Go on. Sunday? Yeah. Pathetic.
Starting point is 00:01:46 I nearly swore how pathetic that is a drought for you. Isn't that laughable? And that's bad for Clint. I mean, I know why you're getting headaches? Well, I saw a video online of a 91-year-old who said that he was loving life and then he goes, still have sex every day. I was like, at 91! Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:03 Meanwhile, the headaches are in your head. up the top high on top of your neck, eh? That hair. Meanwhile, it's been five days. The Edge is the home of Clint Mc&Dame. The Edge. Clint has got a brand, doesn't he? Meg, of being like a Christian, you know,
Starting point is 00:02:17 clean, squeaky clean guy. But I think... Mick rolled her eyes. I know. And rightfully so, Meg. Because I think you've lost it. I think in the eyes of the Lord, I think God's looking down and going, you know what? You used to be a great disciple of mine.
Starting point is 00:02:32 Now I'm washing my hands of you. Yeah. Well, what have I done with? think the good Lord will be like enough, mate. Slowly changed over the years. Yeah. Yeah, I feel like when I first started working with you, you were Christian Randall. Yeah. Maybe it was the name change, and now you're Clint.
Starting point is 00:02:45 You're clearly, you are very different. Yeah, like you've got lots of tattoos. Yeah, you think we're at six every six seconds. You're doing harkers on buses. Hey, I waited five years before I started doing the nasty. When was the last time you went to your happy clap at church? Oh, I haven't been in a wee while. How long's a wee while?
Starting point is 00:03:03 I don't know. this year. But I can guarantee you I've given a lot more of my money to church over my life than you to have. Oh, yeah. We don't proclaim to be. Yeah, no way. If I get there, I'll be like, hold on, bring up the Excel spreadsheet, Jesus.
Starting point is 00:03:18 I'm giving, I feel like him. Falked out quite a bit of money over my time. Yeah, but you also followed the account kids getting hurt on TikTok. Yeah. And then you'll be like, oh, that is a hard one. You're down the elevator to hellboat. Yeah, I probably did it myself quite seriously in the beginning. I've been a little bit more lax
Starting point is 00:03:35 and... It's more about how I would like to treat people and what I believe happens to me when I die rather than being a Bible basher. You're moulding the rules to whatever you need. That's fine. There's a difference between being a Christian than just not being an asshole.
Starting point is 00:03:52 They're not mutually exclusive. It's like a sliding scale. You know? I mean, kind of like you, Dan, as well, they say no one is 100% straight. There's a sliding scale. Yeah, there's a spectrum. Yeah, and maybe that's the same with Christianity and all things.
Starting point is 00:04:03 I think when Meg and I get up to the pearly gates and God goes back down, you go, we're not going to be surprised. I don't think I'm going to unpack my bag, let me just tell you, I'm not going to zip it. I'm going to be livid. I'm going to be livid. I'll be livid. You see my face of shock when he goes, sorry, mate. He's going to go, you did a harker on a bus. Okay.
Starting point is 00:04:23 You played a lot of pit bull in your time. He's done a lot of drinking. Yeah. I mean, there was that day you played Al-City on the radio, but that was Megan Dan's dress. A lot of lusting. Lot of lust. Yeah. But, you know, when I sing along to naughty songs, I never say, I always censor one word.
Starting point is 00:04:39 There's always one word that I censor. Oh, my God. Honestly, God's going to have the meeting be like, cancel the rest of my day. He's going to over time. He's going to talk me forever about it. Yes, I did swear a little, but I censored the main words. Angels cancel my meanings. Clint Randall's coming up.
Starting point is 00:04:54 It's going to be a long day. Keep the gates shut. Okay, how do we feel, if you listen to the show this morning, about swapping out Tate McCray who's in the system next just keep watching for Pitbull
Starting point is 00:05:09 I think the only people that'll be angry is our boss Jack and God so if you're willing to piss them off then fine Okay well Jack's vote will override
Starting point is 00:05:17 everyone else if he's up early enough to hear this and weigh in on 3343 Get your Clint McGinn and Dan Fax Edge I don't know about you but I feel good
Starting point is 00:05:29 Feel good Let's go Okay normally we do first call of the day and you give us a call. We thought maybe we'll call you if you've texted show this morning. We'll reward you. A lot of checks this morning.
Starting point is 00:05:40 A lot of people were angry that we didn't play pit bull. Hello. Jimma. Hello. It's your favourite Brecky show. Hello. How are you? Yeah, good.
Starting point is 00:05:51 Good, babe. Hey, it's first call of the day and that is you. So we're going to give you 100 bucks to kick off the weekend. Thanks to us. What's the MTF finance? Oh, wow. Oh, my God. Thank you so much.
Starting point is 00:06:02 No worries, Gemma. Thanks for listening so early in the morning on a Friday. Oh, no. I don't even have work, and I'm still up. Why? Kids. Kids, and I'm going to do a couple of workouts before they wake up. A couple of workout.
Starting point is 00:06:17 Nice. What are we training? I'm going to do strength and then I'm going to do some yoga afterwards. Oh, beautiful, Tema. Prop for Gemma. Thank you. And I'll just walk the dog, 7K, so I'm all good to go. Oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:06:32 Do you have a six-pack? I wish I did But yeah That's great I love that you You're underneath You bought the dog Early in the morning
Starting point is 00:06:41 If you're like I'm too busy in the day I need to get it done Dogs already wore it 6 a.m. Yeah, love that Good on you You're winning Yep
Starting point is 00:06:47 Well on Jimma Well 100 bucks to you Thanks to ETF finance Tell your daughter as well We say happy birthday For the other day Oh thank you And she got her learner's license
Starting point is 00:06:57 The next day Oh my God That's so scary And exciting Yeah right It's cool It's actually really cool. It's cool.
Starting point is 00:07:06 It means you don't have to drive them everywhere now, do you? Wow. She can drive me. Yeah, you're still going to sit next to them on their learners for a wee while. I remember. It was really exciting when I got my restricted and I was able to pick up my drunk mum. From like Quiz Night and stuff, it was really exciting.
Starting point is 00:07:22 I still think, you mean if you're on your restricted, I still think you have to have a full license to sober driver in the passenger seat with you. Right, I mean, when I am I full license, sorry, Cliff. Yeah, yeah, yeah, of course. I mean, which is worse? Drunk mum driving or a restricted sober daughter, I think. It's a bit lesser of two evils.
Starting point is 00:07:42 So they'd like to look forward to for the Christmas parties. Absolutely, I can't wait. All right, have a break Friday. Go do those donkey kicks. Thanks, Jim. Thank you, see you guys. See you, you, bye. Your local money experts for personal and business finance, MTF.
Starting point is 00:07:57 It's been cool having them on board, especially when you get a sponsor who's giving cash to your listeners. Yeah. Coming up next to talking about the overthinkers podcast, the other podcast we do alongside this radio show and yesterday we had our boss, boss Jack. He's new in the job, isn't he? Do you regret sharing with us what he did?
Starting point is 00:08:11 Deeply. Now that he knows it's going actually on radio, yeah. Yeah, deeply. I think we're maybe going to have to beep something. Yeah, but he is going to regret telling us that. I'm sexy and I know it. All right, let's find out what's going on in the world of entertainment. Coming up in scandal headlines.
Starting point is 00:08:26 Not much. Zara Larson is releasing new music video. It's a bit of a throwback to a 90s movie. the details going up. Zara Larson has released the music video for her new song, Great Sun, Blue Moon. The boys have just watched it. She is just unreal.
Starting point is 00:08:49 I was saying to them, my argument with people say, like, oh, if you don't like Sydney swimming, it's just because she's hot. Untrue. Zara Larson is, I think, one of the hottest women on the planet, and I think she is amazing. But the music video is a little weird. She's like Tinkerbell a little bit And a aquamarine a little bit
Starting point is 00:09:05 And then she advertises like eye drops Through the middle I don't know the eye drops I've missed something Have you seen that episode in Friends Where Joey advertises lipstick for men Ichibon And you remember that ad
Starting point is 00:09:17 It's kind of like that It's very 90s Oh I don't care what it is I was transfixed by Zara My goodness Dan's like why do I all of a sudden want eye drops I tell you what she can dance She can dance
Starting point is 00:09:29 And if you haven't seen her if you haven't got tickets to her, do we have chances to win to her, Clint? Zara Lison, yeah, yeah, with Edge Arvos. Yeah, awesome. So if you listen out to our new Edge Arvo show, they're amazing. Carl, Yazzie and Harrison, your chance to go and see her live and see what you can see in the new video. I might go now.
Starting point is 00:09:47 I want to see that in person. She sold me. She's good at selling tickets at Zara Larson. She's so amazing. Hey, for 25 years, so to speak to helping New Zealanders make smarter money choices. The Edge. Just hits. In Auckland.
Starting point is 00:09:59 Edge. The Edge. Clint Megan Dan. Hejovo show also has your tickets to Olivia Dean. We're going to cross to them 8 o'clock this morning. We'll have a certain phrase that you'll need to recite to the team. We'll give you their location and that phrase at 8 o'clock. And if you're the first one there,
Starting point is 00:10:17 you will score those last, last minute tickets to Olivia Dean when she performs tomorrow night in Auckland. This could be the last ever tickets to give away to the show. Yeah. You'll be the last one in. How good. All right, our boss got carried away and jumped on our podcast. today are Overtinkers podcast.
Starting point is 00:10:33 If you don't listen to that one and you want more of your Clint Megan Dan fix. You can text the word podcast to 33443. Listen live weekdays from sex on Rover and catch up wherever. This is Clint Meg and Dan. This is The Overthinkers podcast. If you want more of your Clint Megan Dan fix after 10 a.m, you can text the word podcast to 3343. And we overthink bits and pieces on a separate podcast after the show. And there's even a video version as well, which you can see all of us, including Megan.
Starting point is 00:10:59 When you see her, you'd probably go, God, you. I'll go back to audio vision. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And we say a lot of bad stuff on there. Well, not bad stuff, but sometimes we overshare, like you say. Yeah, and sometimes we might bring a conversation that happened briefly on here to the podcast where we can chat a little bit more about it.
Starting point is 00:11:18 And we did that the other day when we were talking about people that buy clothes without reading what is written on them. So we test the people in the office and we realized we were the only ones that did it because everyone knew what was on everybody to stop. What does your one say right now, Meg? Cowboys, Dallas Cowboys. Yep, good. She's got Dallas Cowboys top on.
Starting point is 00:11:36 Well, my son even yesterday, I was buying him like a singlet wearing Kmart. And I went and I was like, that's cool color. It looks cool. And then I was like, hold on, what does it say? And I've now started reading the clothing and I didn't used to. Turns out we weren't alone in this. With our boss. Yeah, our boss decided to come in and share this one with us.
Starting point is 00:11:54 This is a long time ago. So I went to the Tatu and Art Festival and I was too much of a... Little B to get a tattoo, so I bought a t-shirt instead. Wore it for probably... You went to a tattoo festival and you got a t-shirt? Yeah. Wore it for probably two years. Really loved it.
Starting point is 00:12:09 Got home one day, was looking in the mirror, and it's one of those things where, like, you've got to be looking at it on the right angle. And I'd been wearing a shirt two years to work that had... Brilliant. So bad. What was it?
Starting point is 00:12:24 Why did we beat that? Oh, cat. Nom, nom, no. A bit a different nerd word for cat. Yeah. I can say it. Pussy. Yeah, but that...
Starting point is 00:12:32 Yeah, but I don't even have had that as a delicacy. Oh, is that what it said after it? Yeah. Oh, no, no, no, no, no. No, no. Not at work. For two years. Two years. And also, he's the boss. I mean, he wouldn't have been two years ago, but still, obviously, if you are the boss now,
Starting point is 00:12:48 you've been working towards that. Yeah. So he was on the up. Yeah, you need... If you're the boss of any company, I think you'd need to have standards of your clothing, don't you? Prodiscale? Is it a coincidence that he ended up hooking out with someone at work and they've been in a long-term relationship since that T-shirt.
Starting point is 00:13:02 That's true. All above board, though. All above board always. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'll have that said for Jack. I won't have a bad word said about him. Great boss. No, Meg, what are your thoughts on him?
Starting point is 00:13:14 Oh, okay. It's going to be fun having that. The funny thing is, quite often she'll do that, but the mics are off. So you saw the real Meg. Yeah, sorry. All right, Nauty 640 is up next, and then your chance to have a crack at Easy Money.
Starting point is 00:13:29 God, this time yesterday we had arguably the worst, actually the worst easy money player we've ever had. Maybe I'll get a little bit for you and I'll recap it coming up after the break. Okay, Mike's off, Clint. All right.
Starting point is 00:13:42 Oh my God, I'm getting live ones and for the ones. Your favorite radio show? It's podcast for. Edge Breakfast, Clint Megan Dan. I re-renged on the show yesterday. She's been getting a lot of chat in the media because she found some of her food
Starting point is 00:13:58 that shouldn't have been there. And when she did the right thing and went to the company initially to be like, can you fix this situation for me? They didn't get back to her and they weren't really interested in taking her calls, but they are now. This happened in New Zealand, eh? Because this is the sort of thing you'd hear happening on, like, Ladd Bible in America or something. But this is, you'd never hear this in New Zealand.
Starting point is 00:14:18 And I do love a scorched almond. Not anymore. Yeah, I know there are a lot of different brands that do them, by the way. I think I'm going to cut mine open first. That's so much Amman I think the Nestle brand is the best Yeah And it wasn't them
Starting point is 00:14:33 Those are the ones that I buy And it wasn't them So I was happy Anyway She goes into great detail About what it was In her chocolate That wasn't in a scorched almond
Starting point is 00:14:45 In fact It was a human tooth I felt like You know It's a bit hard You know So it's chocolatey And then
Starting point is 00:14:53 There is like this bit And it's very hard And I get Seriously I kept sucking on it just to be ghosted. Yeah, I know. I know. And I just kept sucking in it.
Starting point is 00:15:05 And it's not going away, you know. It's really hard. And when I spit it, it's this little tooth. I looked at it. It's a tooth that's a bit rotten. And it has got little specks of very dry blood. Okay. Stop.
Starting point is 00:15:21 Okay. Yeah, I know. Wow, she read on and on. She was very descriptive about it. She got a $50 voucher from the supermarket that she bought it from. Honestly, she needs more than that. She needs to be like a formal apology from the company that made the scorched arm. And a full explanation and investigation to how that could happen.
Starting point is 00:15:42 How does a tooth end up replacing an armoured? How bad is the safety element? You got a factory worker and all of a sudden he's like, oh, shit was a tooth falling out. Oh, I knew that was going to happen. It's rotten. And then he's just gone, and he's just gone, and he's going, where'd that go? And it's gone straight into the vat.
Starting point is 00:16:00 It actually makes me so, so, so, queasy. But guess what we're going to do again? Yeah. Do we need to do this? I don't know. We were actually in and dated and we didn't get a chance to take them all just before 9 o'clock yesterday. What did you? What was the surprise you got in your food?
Starting point is 00:16:15 You're like, that's not supposed to be in there? Hopefully you saw it before you put it in your mouth because that's not always the case for a lot of people. And I, like, if you did get something in your food, like the tooth, can you explain how it got there? Because we had someone yesterday that had a rat tail in their chicken, didn't they? Like instead of a piece of chicken. Deep fried. Deep fried rat tail.
Starting point is 00:16:33 Oh Lord. This is the Clint Meg and Dan catch up. Want to hear the guys off air and a little looser? Listen and watch their Overthinkers podcast. All right, we want to know right now what was the surprise that you found in your food. Tracy's going to kick things off. You could eat around this, I reckon, Trace. Did you?
Starting point is 00:16:52 A. Did you eat around it? feel like you could? Oh, yeah. We found, yeah, I didn't eat it, luckily. I saw it before I ate it. Okay, so what was on? It was a piece of pizza.
Starting point is 00:17:02 What was on it? It was a mushroom pizza from like a fancy Italian restaurant. And so I had like heaps of mushrooms on it. And on the pizza was a cigarette butt. Disgusting. What, disguised within the pizza? Well, just hanging out with the rest of the mushroom. Did you, was it a refund, I imagine?
Starting point is 00:17:21 There's not explaining it. They were like, yeah. Well, actually my parents were, in a different country and I was out for like the mum that took us out was trying to make it okay that our parents had gone on holiday without us and so she was like we'll take her out for a treat and then took us out for a cigarette butt pizza.
Starting point is 00:17:38 How well, your first siggy. Surely you didn't need any of that pizza. Like if the butt was on one piece of it. I had. I had started, I had about a quarter of it and then I was like, oh, I think there's something weird on it and she told me I was being dramatic and I was like, no. No, I do. I think that's so weird on it. Okay.
Starting point is 00:17:52 Okay. Tracy, Meg, Dan, and myself. Yes. If the rest of it's fine, are we, once we notice that piece has a cigarette, but are we eating any of the other pieces? No, I'm taking it back. No way.
Starting point is 00:18:04 Okay, I think I still am if I'm very hungry. Meg? I'm in the side of that piece on the other side. Really? I couldn't. No way. I take it back and I get all cairing up in their ass. One time, Trace, I was looking forward to my, like,
Starting point is 00:18:16 fried rice that I had, like, left over from a Chinese restaurant, like, so much for lunch. And what I didn't realize is when I was obviously putting it in a glass bowl at home, a big blowfly must have landed on top of the fried rice. And I nuked it. And he was nuked within the fried rice. But I was like, if I just scoop underneath him.
Starting point is 00:18:36 Yeah, he did that because I watched it happen. Dad, unfortunately, I was there in this moment of life. You're, like, quite a, you know, well-to-do man. You can afford to get another fried rice. But not right there and then, and I was hungry. My God. So I just scooped around it. I'd lost my appetite.
Starting point is 00:18:49 Anna, what did you find in your food? I found with my teeth, a cockroach in my burger. A bit of protein? Had you bitten down on it, or did you find it before? I was chewing on it for a good piece. That is disgusting. See, I would sue whoever it was. Don't say who it was, but I would be trying to sue that company.
Starting point is 00:19:12 Did they fix the situation for you? They offered me vouchers for more of that food that I'd steered away from for about six years after. Why did you want more food from a place that offered you a cockroach and a burger? Somebody I said, 15 years ago I found a small mouse inside an energy drink. I drunk most of it before I realized I've never touched that brand ever again. I just want to know the processes of these companies and how a mouse is getting inside a can of drink. Well, I guess they have the can, stopped and ready, and then a little mouse crawled in, died. Imagine drowning an energy drink.
Starting point is 00:19:51 What a way to go. I think it was probably before. Ninja drink got filled up. Easy money. One letter, 10 k degrees, and just 30 seconds. Let's play. Easy money. Yeah, too late for me, the Kiwis game last night against Solz.
Starting point is 00:20:07 You're going down by two points. I watched the highlights, but Meg was telling me some like league news. Yeah, it was, what, four minutes left when the Ruse actually came in and won the whole thing. And then on his debut, Caleb Ponger actually broke his arm. Oh. So he's out, unfortunately. Yeah, I just heard that in the news update, so he kind of cut Meg's lunch there. Move over Laura McGoldrick.
Starting point is 00:20:33 There's a new sportscaster in town. So who broke their arm? Caleb. I thought it was Kaylin. Kaylin, of course. Damn it. I'm sorry, Laura. Lori, you're all good.
Starting point is 00:20:45 I'm so annoyed because the girls I was talking to, their work in the sports part of media works told me that this morning. And I said, Caleb, they said, no, make sure you say. Kaylin. Damn it. All right, here we go. A thousand bucks on the line. You get 30 seconds. And if you can give us 10 answers without repeating any,
Starting point is 00:21:02 starting with the letter E this morning, the cash is yours. She's an early childhood teacher from Cambridge. Morning, Brooke. Hi. Hey, Brooke. All right, let's get you $1,000 this morning. You ready? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:21:14 Okay, good luck. She's going to put it towards buying a house. Obviously, not in Auckland. Okay, here we go. Your letter is E. Here we go. Give me a girl's name. Elena.
Starting point is 00:21:24 A boy's name. Eli. A body part. Albow. An occupation. Pass. A televised event. Electric air?
Starting point is 00:21:39 Something you take on a plane. Electric charger. A famous puppet. Oh, pass. A four-liter word. Emu? Time, bro. Emmy was three.
Starting point is 00:21:56 Edge, I thought, might have been a sitter. Yeah. No, it was a good start, but then you sort of lost your way. Yeah. I don't know if we could do electric air as a televised event, but we did have election, Emmys, Eurovision. I think you, because a lot of the news, maybe, yeah.
Starting point is 00:22:10 Yeah, a lot of the news channels will put it on TV, so it gets televised. I think you'd probably would have given you it if you'd got 10. Yeah. Engineer, electrician, as occupations. Emmys, I thought, might have been a good one. A questionable one for me, something you take on a plane electric charger.
Starting point is 00:22:25 I think that's one of the things you're not allowed on a page. Did you see that? I think it was on the project on Instagram. They put up a video of, where you, over, what do they call that? The cabin, you know, where you put your bags and stuff. Overhead locker? Overhead, yeah, yeah. It was on fire because somebody's charger had caught fire in their bag.
Starting point is 00:22:44 I was like, imagine how terrifying that would be to see a fireball coming out of the. That's why you're not allowed to take, like, battery banks and stuff on there, I don't think. Yeah, you have to be in your carry on. Carry on. Wow. But soon I'm. surprised they still let you take them on a plane at all when they start exploding. Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:22:59 I wouldn't want that in the luggage department or in the main department. Yeah. I don't want it on a plane. Yeah. Especially if they can do that. All right, highlights of this week coming up next with the producer's diary. Let's see if you feature if you have contributed to the show this week. Cliff McGinn Dan, Edge Breakfast.
Starting point is 00:23:14 All right, you guys think you've done a good shift this week because we're about to find out. I can only speak for myself. I feel like it's been quite a solid one. Meg, you've been great. Thank you. God, you've said some stuff. Wow, the tape doesn't. lie, so let's roll it and see. G'day, it's Brady, and welcome back
Starting point is 00:23:29 to another producer's diary. It's been a busy but fun week on the show with Clint, Megan, Dan, and Dan started out the week asking a very important hard-hitting question. Shoot Shag Mary, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Oh, I would shag Monday, because I think it can be exciting. I would shoot
Starting point is 00:23:45 Tuesday and, yeah, I'd marry Wednesday. No, I'm killing Monday, for sure. Yeah, same. I'd shag Wednesday. That's your alcoholism. Oh, yeah. And Clint cocked up one of the most important parts of his job, selling the music on
Starting point is 00:23:59 a brand new song. Jamie Miller, she's got sort of a Miley Cyrus twang. Hey. Oh, hey. Can't get away with that one in the big two sucks, mate. Now it's time for some Clint, Meg and Dan out of context, but it's actually just Dan and Clint.
Starting point is 00:24:20 You got a pump and dump, I guess. If you want a really tasty sausage this weekend, I'll tell you where to get it. Give it to me again. Give it to me again. I'm a communist then. And on this days have been making their return in the 6 a.m. throwback. And another big event that happened in 2007. Tumblr launched. It was like a photo sharing app almost before Instagram, wasn't it?
Starting point is 00:24:40 It was kind of used for evil. It was definitely used for the wrong things. Dan, what did you use it for? I've only ever used it for porn. They were... Tough crowd, isn't it? It's not the show without you, and we've had a couple of real memorable easy money runs this week. We'll get started with our winner.
Starting point is 00:24:54 Time for your favourite game. Easy money. Okay, time starts at the end of Mengags. Asking you your first question. Give me a boy's name. Lucas. An occupation. Laborer. Something you make for dinner.
Starting point is 00:25:08 Cizania. A city. London. A drink. Lemonade. A four-letter word. Lean. Something you take to work.
Starting point is 00:25:22 Lunch. A TV show. Luton. A flower. Lily. A song title. Leila. Yes!
Starting point is 00:25:33 An incredible run, Michael. Enjoy the Kay Brother, and we're just going to switch it up a little bit to probably one of the worst easy money runs I've ever heard from Kane, and this was his second attempt. Ready, Kane? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:25:47 Okay, here we go. Give me a brand. Oh my gosh. This is so hard. Yeah, I can't even think right now. I'll be the worst ever. It's just... Kay.
Starting point is 00:26:03 What are you up to, bro? Okay. Clint Meg and Dan then gave Marketing Monday a crack where they sing jingles for your local business. The songs for the jingles were picked randomly and the theory was that the queries were going to start coming in. But these get progressively worse. We'll start with Clint who sung about a proposal business. So if you're heterosexual or even if you're gay and you're ready to propose but planning's not your forte. You can outsource the world.
Starting point is 00:26:35 to this lady. Dan's turn, his business was Kiwi calendars. But like a calendar where the theme, especially if that theme is a cartoon Kiwi. Not sure of the day of the week. Time management is really bleak. Is it Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, 35 bucks you will pay?
Starting point is 00:26:57 And last but not least, it's Meg. She got JW landscaping in Dunedin. Call up Joe. J.W. call him on the phone. He does rock, rock, rock, rock and lawns moan. Jeez. I hope you like that joke.
Starting point is 00:27:18 Sorry, my dog took off out the window. I don't blame it. That'll wrap it up for producers' diary this week. Have a good weekend, you bloody legends, and we'll catch you back on Monday. Cheers, we just, Brady. The people that we did do those ads for, whether they'd got any queries after it. Yeah, we could follow up behind the scenes. Maybe if they did Carl, let us know.
Starting point is 00:27:41 And if they didn't get any extra business, and just protect our egos by just ignoring. I think they would have got mainly complaints, if I'm honest. I think one of them actually went under. To be fair, if I was in, was it, Dunedin and I needed my lawns done,
Starting point is 00:27:55 J.W. contracting. Like, it's memorable. Yeah, for the right or wrong reasons. Rock, rock, rock, rock in lawns mind, don't they? I don't think they do as much rock as Meg made out, if I'm honest. To be fair, I think that's their secondary business. Right, right.
Starting point is 00:28:08 Clint McGon Dan. Edge Breakfast. Clint meg and Dan. We want to know where the strangest place is you've ever. picked up, or been picked up, because Meg was reading a book yesterday, books by boomers from the 50s, and they had 129 ways to find your man, or your husband in particular. Indeed, some places included going to a rugby game, just got in, they said get lost, get lost at one.
Starting point is 00:28:29 I don't know, I think that's bad advice. Quite often people are quite intoxicated at rugby games. They're watching the game. I don't know if the focus is on, picking up a girl. Maybe it was less drunk in the 1950s. Yeah, Bats. You know, possibly. And then Meg briefly told us that her mum tried to, I guess, be the ultimate wingman for Meg and pick up on her behalf.
Starting point is 00:28:49 Good on it. When she got a phone call from a random guy at a rugby game that her mum was at. It was a text. Yeah, yeah. It took a lot. I remember being very confused. And then I believe I was out at the time. I was somewhere else.
Starting point is 00:29:01 Trying to pick up. Probably started getting random text from a number. I didn't recognize and ended up him saying that your mom gave me your number. Well, we've got her on for a bit of a please explain. I'm Philippa. Morning, Philippa. Haven't you ever heard of your mother pimping out a daughter? God's sake.
Starting point is 00:29:17 No, I've heard of it. I've heard of it. I think it's quite common in some cultures. Some cultures. Yeah, you wouldn't think Kiwi. No, but anyway. So, then take us back. You're at the Sevens.
Starting point is 00:29:28 They're all dressed up. As I said, we always had a few drinks there. Had a great time. I was like the Garden Gnome sort of thing, and I had a bra made of, you know, flower pots. Her bride was made out of flower pots. I actually don't think it was that year.
Starting point is 00:29:45 Hopefully it wasn't because I was dating my husband at that time. But you could do better. And we're sitting there and having a great time. And the young guy next to us, you know, he was very, very friendly, really nice, really good looking actually. But I was texting you or doing something and he saw your photo and she's, oh, she's really nice. I said, oh, that's my daughter.
Starting point is 00:30:06 I don't believe you. He looked over and said, she looks really nice. What a nosey, babe. You would have brought up a photo of me and said, this is my daughter. There is no way. Please, no, no, no. I was chatting to you and he saw the picture. Yeah, he may have said, oh, can I do that?
Starting point is 00:30:22 Oh, God, no, he did it. No, he did it. No, he did it. Mom, you were like, all I got was a text from a random guy saying your mom gave me your number. As I said, I was a little bit lubricated. I don't drink that. Why? I don't know you love the rugby that much.
Starting point is 00:30:38 I miss the seven so much. Okay, goodbye, mum. Love you. Thank for that. We'd love to know where's the most random, unique place you picked up? Because sometimes love will just find you at the most random of times, in the most random of places. You get Maloos on who's just text through saying they found love at an airport. Oh, just like that movie. Terminal?
Starting point is 00:30:59 Yeah. Oh, the Tom Hanks one. Yes. Yeah, we're stuck in the terminal for some reason, eh? Yeah, I mean, there's other things that happen in the movie. I mean, he also finds love. He meets Catherine Zita Jones. What are the chances?
Starting point is 00:31:09 Oh, my God. Lucky bugger. me get stuck in an airport, am I right? All right, we'll take your calls next. Get your Clint McGinn Dan Fax. The Edge. It's the edge. All right, according to a book from the 1950s yesterday,
Starting point is 00:31:25 Meg was telling us that it said, if you want to pick up, pick up at a rugby game. Yeah, get lost at a rugby game. A lot of lads there, girls. Yeah, and you can ask for directions to the bathrooms, I don't know. And I suppose there are some niche places that people have picked up. We'd love to hear from you of the way that you bumped into your now-forever person was in a very random place that most people
Starting point is 00:31:45 don't have a story for? What out this one from Leicester on the text machine? I found love at an antinatal class was there with my ex with our first born. Six months later we both left our partners and we're together. Wow! That is crazy because you're there. I would have given anything to be in that antinatal group.
Starting point is 00:32:02 Oh, it'd be the talk of the group chat, wouldn't it? Oh, God, yeah. Did the two that got left, did they get together? Sometimes that happens. They end up dating just based on their common shared misery. Let's go to Emma on the phone. Hey Emma.
Starting point is 00:32:16 Hey, how are you guys? Hey, thanks. Amy bring a funny energy to a Friday. And where did you... I just come to night, so I'm rolled in that guy. Okay. Oh, nice. Great.
Starting point is 00:32:27 Emmy, you've been married for 16 years. Where did you find your partner? Yes. On a bus trip. Oh, my goodness. It was actually... It's been together 20 years. So was it like a conticky?
Starting point is 00:32:39 It was one of those, you know, the party buses. Oh, yeah. Oh, really? So, like, just a night thing? Just a night thing, really random and just never left me alone since. I mean, it's not your traditional bus trip, like you're into city bus, is it? You know, like you're at least partying, there's a bit of drinking involved. There was a little bit of, yeah, there was some drinks there, but yeah, 20 years later.
Starting point is 00:33:04 And you guys really didn't know each other from a bar of soap, it wasn't like your friend group and my friend group? No, didn't know each other at all. That's so cool. Oh, I love that. Thank you. So there you go. Party buses. Put that one on the list.
Starting point is 00:33:15 Katrina? Hello. Hello. Where did you find love? Well, I was in New Orleans for Mardi Gras number of years back. And the friend that I'd gone there with was gay. And so we were hanging out in the gay bars quite a lot. And for some reason, I decided to hit him one of the strippers in the gay bar.
Starting point is 00:33:37 Turns out he was straight. I was straight. And we started dating from that. So two straight things. People met in a gay bar. That's unorthodox, isn't it? Yeah. Wow.
Starting point is 00:33:45 Yeah, and him being a stripper. Yeah. What was it like dating a stripper? Out of interest? Was he... How long did he? Yeah, how long he keeps stripping after you guys got together? He just did what he wanted to.
Starting point is 00:33:56 Like, it didn't bother me. Like, it was just what he did when, like, yeah, he didn't, I didn't care about it. Yeah, of course. Oh, it was just a part-time stripper. Yeah, you can't go find a stripper and then get annoyed that they strip when that's how you found them. True. Absolutely. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:34:09 Exactly. Hey, yeah, Katrina, we're going to send you a nerds gummy Cluster prize. pack. It's one of our edge must haves this week. Amazing. Thank you. In fact, we've been talking about it so much. I got a hankering for them at 7.30 last night. Went to the dairy and got myself a bag. And our boss did the same thing.
Starting point is 00:34:24 They're delicious. That should be illegal, how delicious they are. Just in time for Halloween, too. Nerdgummy clusters. Let's do one more. Let's go to Kerry. Kerry, where did you pick up your girlfriend? I got one over the counter at McDonald's. How did that happen? Okay, so she's taking your order, and then how does it?
Starting point is 00:34:42 How does it work? Basically, yeah, just dine in. I sat down and then I look up and she's sitting across the table from me. I'm just like, what? Oh, wow, okay. Yeah, so surprise to my happy meal. What twice is that? No, Kerry, how does that happen?
Starting point is 00:35:00 You bought dine in. You're by yourself. You go and sit down and then she goes, I liked him so much. I'm going to leave my shift and sit with him. I think she took her break. Wow. She's gutsy. I love that.
Starting point is 00:35:14 Yeah, it was random as. But I mean, yeah, she's like, oh, come out, come out tonight. And I was like, yeah, sweet as. And yeah, yeah, it was, yeah. I mean, well, she didn't make the move it when it happened. But, yeah. I love that. We need to change your name in the system to McLaughin.
Starting point is 00:35:34 Don't. Okay, we won't then. Sorry, Kerry. Thank you, mate. Appreciate it. Coming up on the Edgebrook first. All right, your chance. chance to have a crack at easy money.
Starting point is 00:35:45 Hopefully you go better than Kane did. Paul Bugger didn't have a very good showing yesterday. He didn't actually get a single answer correct or incorrect. Yeah, I can't even think right now. I'll be the worst ever. I'm totaled. Let's stop mentioning Paul Kane. He's probably driving to work again, trying to forget the horrible situation that was yesterday.
Starting point is 00:36:04 Okay, we won't mention Kane from Fangare again. Take the edge off your day with Clint Meg and Dan. Hitch. All right. Time for what you got. A few stories we want to chuck on your radar for Friday the 16th of October. Instagram, Meg, has apologised for accidentally pushing out this song from Creed too often. I mean, I love the song. I love Creed. I think they get a bad rap. They should never have to apologise for Creed.
Starting point is 00:36:34 Yeah, so they've said that there's been an algorithm glitch within Instagram. So when you post a stories and they suggest the song that you play underneath it in Creed eyes. been like at the top of most people's suggested. No matter what you're posting it could be like you're at a funeral. Yeah. Like grandmother died. I mean that sort of works. It kind of works. Take me higher, yeah, towards heaven.
Starting point is 00:36:53 In what situation does it not work? You know? True. You could be anything. It's the perfect song for every occasion. There's got to be, now my brain's not going to let this go. There's got to be an awful situation where you would not want higher. I don't know. Maybe if you're getting married because I think it's talking about death.
Starting point is 00:37:11 So maybe you don't want to have this walking down the aisle. Maybe if you worked in, like, you just started like a drilling company. That doing the opposite of going down. Maybe you specialize in building like shelters for the apocalypse underground. I mean, there's a couple. Sir Paul McCartney, you might have seen some clips going around. He was on Amy Poller's podcast with Good Hang. And so I played a couple of them on scandal.
Starting point is 00:37:38 But one that I did miss from the whole podcast, I thought was super interesting. I'd love to know first, what is your earliest memory, boys? Do you remember it? I think mine is about I was five, and I saw my still now best friend, Steph, playing netball, and I remember thinking she looked really big because she was playing with like six and seven-year-olds. But that's why I think my first memory around that, mate.
Starting point is 00:38:01 I know it's random. If you see photos, sometimes I think you have that memory, but you actually just have the memory of looking at the photo. Mine's like doing a handstand in the pool. Okay. Yeah. I honestly, you don't know. Too old.
Starting point is 00:38:13 He's lost them all. Maybe it's when they converted from horse and cart to automobile. That was pretty exciting. Well, Popper Cartney remembers being born. No, he does not. Pass off, Paul. He's such a lie. What, does he not get enough attention at the moment?
Starting point is 00:38:26 Isn't he nearly 80? How does he remember that? He said, I have this feeling that I kind of remember being born. I remember white tiles, very sort of hygienic white tile, chrome instruments, and a clanging because. I was a four-seps birth and that to pull me out. He says, I know it sounds like I've made that up. But that's what he remembers.
Starting point is 00:38:47 That's his first memory, apparently. Clint just said when you were saying that, that he remembers just the end of World War II. That was the day he was bored. What a time. What a time. There is a guy named Ben Wendell, who doesn't have a lot of followers on Instagram.
Starting point is 00:39:01 So if you don't know the name, you'll be forgiven. He's a bodybuilder slash lifestyle coach. About 15,000 followers. But he's proof that if you want to do something, you just have to be ballsy enough to do it and sometimes lie. More of you guys need to understand that life is a in video game, and you can pretty much just warp yourself in any scenario. Right now, I just got done singing the national anthem at a mass sports game.
Starting point is 00:39:23 I just think I sound pretty good when I sing. So I emailed them and said, hey, can I sing the national anthem at one of your games? They came back and were like, do you have any experience? And he was like, yeah, I'm a trained opera singer, which is a lie. And they said, can you send us something? So he sent them like an audition. And they said, yeah, okay. And then guess what?
Starting point is 00:39:39 Oh, the rampartee was Or she's just a bodybuilder that wanted to sing And he was like, I'll email them and he got it I mean, he did it better than Fergie But let's not forget her performance on it She's a self-confessed singer Poor Fergie always like copts black Every time that comes up
Starting point is 00:40:09 She's never escaping this For the last Most shocking performances of all time Easy money $1,000 on the line Let's play Easy money. Letter is yes, give us 10 answers without repeating any inside 30 and the thousand bucks is yours.
Starting point is 00:40:54 And guess who we got? First time caller. Hello, Evie. You're the second teacher of the morning. Yeah, we love our teachers. Do you know what I will say? Teachers perform very well in easy money originally. Like initially they did lately quite poor show.
Starting point is 00:41:14 Yeah, it's been a long year. The other day you slept that and people did really badly. So I feel like you're setting me up. So this is a lot of pressure for you, Eby, to turn it. around for the teachers. I feel like the teachers are good at the start of the year and then the year gets long. Yeah. You need another teacher only day.
Starting point is 00:41:29 You need another day off. It will be the last day of week one, so we've got this. Okay. Evie, your letter is S. Are you ready to play? Yes. Here we go, my darling. Okay, give me a number.
Starting point is 00:41:42 Seven. An animal. A serpent. A colour. Snake. Silver. A shower item. Shabajal
Starting point is 00:41:52 Something you read A smutty novel A relationship status Single Something you plug in Smart phone A place in New Zealand A single not Singapore
Starting point is 00:42:06 A pass A type of bird A silver eye A movie franchise A movie franchise was Ava Question 10 That was 10
Starting point is 00:42:17 Was just the place in New Zealand That tripped you out That's hard, though. Honestly, my head wouldn't think of Stratford, Springfield, Sedan or Silverdale. Oh, yeah, it's Silverdale. I thought of Silver Stream in Wellington, but it came after I said past. Damn, that is hard that one for some reason. Said everyone in Silverdale just before Uriwa Meek, not thinking of them.
Starting point is 00:42:35 She said, I'd never think of them. Sorry, if you're in Silverdale. Sorry. And then, yeah, the last one, a movie franchise. Would you have got one, Evie? Star Wars, I might have said that really quickly. Yep, yep, that would have been out? I had sex in the city.
Starting point is 00:42:48 Would that have paid? they did turn them into movies, didn't they? Yeah. We'd probably give it to you, yeah. Okay. Well done, Evie. It wasn't a pantsing. You showed well.
Starting point is 00:42:57 Yeah, not bad, babe. Okay. Not bad. I feel good about it. I feel like that's, I can go to school and still show my face. Yes, you can. Yeah, yeah. At least for the next few weeks before you're off for three more months.
Starting point is 00:43:06 Yeah. Now, we may not have had a win there, but we will next, baby. Yes, Olivia Dean Tiggins. The last one's in the country. Our EJAvo show has them in their hot little hands, but where are they? and what is the phrase that you need for them to give them to you? I'll tell you in less than three minutes. I reckon it's going to be an influx of people.
Starting point is 00:43:29 Listen to your favourite breakfast show whenever you like. Clint McGinn Dan. The edge. The edge. It's time to win our last double pass to Olivia Dean. Just give us the sentence we need. The Edge of Ovo show. Got one last double pass in their hot little hands.
Starting point is 00:43:48 Although which other three of them do you think is being tried? trusted to hold the double pass more than the others. I don't know. I reckon the boss has still got them. You don't think he's handed them over at all? Let's find out. Calh, yes, Harrison, morning team. Morning. Yeah, I don't think either of us have, I didn't even know.
Starting point is 00:44:04 Wait, Cal, it was your job to bring them. Oh, no. Someone's just passed it to me. Here we go. Hey, got it. Very squished up in the back seat of a car together. Up nice and early. You're live on the EGNZ Insta.
Starting point is 00:44:18 Yes. Very good. just came out from Australia as well. So she, we got a late flight and hasn't shouted and brushed her teeth. So we're having a beautiful morning here. At 2 a.m.
Starting point is 00:44:28 She's got an excuse for not brushing her teeth this time. I know, finally. We literally had to ask Jack to pull the windows down. We can't be back here. Oh my gosh. It's so bad, mate.
Starting point is 00:44:39 Is it that bad? I mean, famously we know yeah's only brushes her teeth once a day, which I think once is enough. No, it's not. It should be twice, but. Anyway, we're getting off track. This is why I miss working with you, Dan.
Starting point is 00:44:49 Yeah. We're getting off track. Okay, you guys have some Olivia Dean tickets. How can people win them? So you need to come down and find us. We are somewhere in Auckland. Sorry to everyone around Altooro, but we are at Auckland. That's what we're saying.
Starting point is 00:45:03 And we have a key phrase that you need to say to us. It's so easy to win tickets to Olivia Dean. Wait, is that what you're going to say? We're somewhere in Auckland? Wait. Yeah, should we narrow that down a little bit? Yeah, let's narrow it down a little bit. Okay, we are somewhere outside the Western Springs,
Starting point is 00:45:20 bowl. I'll give another hint. I'll give another hint. I'm looking at a real steep hill. I'll tell you what. And I'll give one more hint. I reckon that's heats of hints. If you need one more hint, though, just follow your nose. You'll smell yes before you... I'm joking. Oh, Dan. That's not funny when you do it.
Starting point is 00:45:40 No, I know. Okay, well, if you guys are at the Western Springs Bowl and you check out EdgeNZ on Insta, you should be able to work out where they are based on watching the video. What was the phrase one more time? It's so easy to win Olivia Dean tickets Okay, so you... Not only do you need to find you guys
Starting point is 00:45:58 But you need to say that phrase correctly, right? Yeah, yeah. Okay, wait, quick question though, is it like if they get like a roundabout The phrase, is that fine? Or it has to be exactly. It has to be the exact phrase. It's so easy to win Olivia Dean tickets on the edge.
Starting point is 00:46:11 Okay, well, that's different to what you just said before. Yeah, well, I just realize. So just one more time, it's so easy to win Olivia Dean tickets on the edge. Right, okay, because that's what I had written in front of me, but that's not what you were saying, the first two times. It couldn't be easier.
Starting point is 00:46:27 Couldn't be easier. Find them there somewhere and looking at a steep hill. Edge Breakfast, Clint McGowan Dan. The Edge. See? The Edge. It's time to win our last double pass to Olivia Dane. Just give us the sentence we need.
Starting point is 00:46:44 It's so easy to win tickets on the edge. It's the senders you need to give the Edge Arbo show there at Western Spring. Bowl, but they're moving around. Yeah. I will say this. If you want to see exactly where they are, you can go live on Instagram now. They're live there,
Starting point is 00:46:57 and you can see exactly where they're standing. Edge and Z. I can see cars literally driving past them that haven't realized if they just pulled over and said it's so easy to win tickets on the edge, they'll have them. The last tickets to Olivia and Dean for this weekend. All right, before we roll into the diary,
Starting point is 00:47:12 Edge Arbo show, any takers or we've still got tickets? Oh, I don't know. Oh, I think someone might be coming over. Oh my gosh, they're going on right now. Oh, they've got to say the words. It could be unrelated. Hello. Wait, wait.
Starting point is 00:47:28 Come over here. Come over here. Say it one more time. It's so easy to win Olivia Dean tickets on the edge. Yeah! Oh, what's your name? Kara. Kara.
Starting point is 00:47:42 Oh my gosh. Congratulations. That was so quick. Where were you? I was on the motorway. Wow. Going to work. It's like turned around.
Starting point is 00:47:49 That's dangerous. You can't be doing Ui's on motorways. You're off the motorway. You're not letting me in. And they was like, I think, is this going to make you a little bit late for work now? Yeah, absolutely. But it's worth it. Right.
Starting point is 00:48:06 Have you been trying to get tickets? Yeah, she's been winning tickets for ages. This is going to be, oh, it's just going to make a day. Well, well done. Wow, the last ones. We're on with Clemmy and Dan right now. You can actually, here, I'll put the headphones on and they can talk to you. Morning, Kara.
Starting point is 00:48:23 You know what? You timed this to perfection. This is what they call perfect radio. Well done. It's like serendipity to have the last. tickets in New Zealand. I'm so excited if you'd be able to tell your daughter. What were your plans this weekend?
Starting point is 00:48:35 Nothing? No, nothing. She was just going to go to a sleepover. She'll be coming to Olivia Dayover. Stuff the sleepover. Wow, what's your daughter's name? How old is she? Kendall, and she is 13.
Starting point is 00:48:49 Oh, my gosh. Wow, you're the coolest mum. This is crazy as well, because Kendall and you probably have the last tickets to Olivia Dean in the country. Yeah. I can't even believe that. This is so cool. We'll let you get back to work, Cara.
Starting point is 00:49:03 Yeah, because Kara, the longer you stick around, the more people are going to start showing up who don't know you've won, and then you've got to do that awkward thing where they all look at you with jealous eyes. Oh, yeah, no, I'm out. I'm out. Can we get Kara some security? I bet she's going to need it. Thanks, Kara. Awesome.
Starting point is 00:49:17 Thanks, guys. Thanks, babe, enjoying the gig. And if you are head along, yeah, it's going to be a hell of a time after being upgraded from Spark Arena. The Edge is the home of Clint McGinn, Dan. The Edge. You might have missed yesterday. Dan ended up going door to door
Starting point is 00:49:33 and asking people if we could nail up Clint Megan Dan's signs outside their house kind of like all those political party signs that you're seeing around the country at the moment That was the inspo wasn't it And I had knocked on a lot of doors We only played the success really didn't we Yeah man there was a lot of doors knocked
Starting point is 00:49:49 Yeah and there was a little reluctance from some My husband's not here so I just don't want to go ahead Oh don't palm it off to the hubby Don't palm it you're the boss Okay She felt peer pressured into it She eventually said she would Which is lovely
Starting point is 00:50:07 But then We started getting Great ideas from you Tony Says he'll do some of the heavy lifting For us this morning Hey Tony Good morning Tony
Starting point is 00:50:17 So you'll put your willing To put up one of our signs on your fence Yes that's right Yep I live in Marston And I'm quite a busy intersection So Okay
Starting point is 00:50:25 I'll put it up straight away As soon as I get it So we're getting one sent out to him, aren't we? A big one. And then Tony may have inspired Alice to call. Well, I've actually got a better idea. Like, why don't you put it into your back car window
Starting point is 00:50:40 because then you've got like a moving bullboard? Isn't that a better idea? Alice, why don't we just leave it up to you how you promote the show? If you want to promote it in your car and we do that. So we really need some duct tape, hey, for her and we can just duct tape. I think you need to be able
Starting point is 00:50:56 to see out your back window. Oh, window shmindo. Paul's got a different idea about how you can get the sign out there. Morning, Paul. Good, Paul. Now you're a friend of the show. You've been into the studio before we love you. What is the situation that you're going to do here? Well, I could put a edge promo image on a splashback
Starting point is 00:51:17 and install it in someone's house. Right. So if they're very popular people like Clint, then it would be very successful, whereas if they're like me or Dan, no one will ever see it. You can speak for yourself? People over. We need to give it. Someone who loves to host needs to win it.
Starting point is 00:51:34 Okay. Would anybody ever even want a kitchen splashback with our faces on it? I mean... Why not? I mean, great. You might underestimate your appeal, Mac. Yeah. I put some very strange images on splashbacks previously.
Starting point is 00:51:50 Really? Yeah, true. All right. The strange to things have happened. Yeah, what's the weirdest thing that anyone's wanted as a splashback in their kitchen before, Paul? I was at a home show once and a gentleman came up and asked
Starting point is 00:52:01 if he could put his nude artwork on there Brilliant Oh, and just right there for anyone to see when they go to his house in his kitchen I guess so Was that man Clint Ray? Yeah, so if you go to Clint's house You'll be able to see
Starting point is 00:52:16 Yeah I think our Spaghetti meatballs with an extra Yeah I think our images on the splashback Would add a certain fengue to any room Okay Okay
Starting point is 00:52:25 Well, Meg has all the details next because we started saying a lot of stuff on yesterday that we, you know, we were trying to cash checks. Bane of my life, you too. We were promising things that haven't been locked in. We didn't have any permission to do so. Believe it to me. But that's what happens when you're the self-confessed boss of the show.
Starting point is 00:52:42 You have staff like us coming to you with questions. You have to answer. So Meg is going to tell us next because she's done all the meetings and emails. She's going to let us know what you can win, what you have to do, what you can't do, what the rules are. To win these electric av tickets that I've managed to find.
Starting point is 00:53:00 I still get people DMing me daily, and like, I'll do anything, I'll do anything. Well, I'll go exactly what you need to do coming up. We've got the answer for you next. No, not we, Meg. Yeah, actually, I don't know anything. It is our job to promote the Clint McGahn show at each. I thought it was the marketing department.
Starting point is 00:53:19 Well, I suppose it's also our job to do a good show and get the show out there into the regions and parts of New Zealand. that maybe aren't listening as much as they should. I does feel like the marketing department's job before you're not as well. Maybe no with cost cuts and all that sort of thing. It's happening everywhere. We've got to wear a lot of hats.
Starting point is 00:53:34 It's definitely not your job to do that. But maybe you might like to make it your job over the next couple of weeks because Meg has quite the carrot. Where's the carrot? I haven't seen a carrot. If you find some sort of unique or effective way to promote our show, over the next few weeks, we will look at all the things that you do.
Starting point is 00:53:58 And if one really stands out, or the one that does stand out to us, the most will win. And money can't buy a double pass to electric app. But it's sold out, Meg. I know, Clint. I managed to find one. And I don't want to talk about how long. Where did you think was it where the carrot was?
Starting point is 00:54:15 It's up where the carrot is. No, it took me a long time, a lot of emails, some phone calls as well. Thank you very much, boys, for saying that. Yesterday, we've wrangled a double pass that is the last one that I know that we can get our hands on and this is our way to bribe you. Well, we started putting signs around the country
Starting point is 00:54:32 because all the political parties were and then people said, hey, can I get a sign? I'll put it up outside my house and then Alice was out. I'll put one on my car. Miles has got a different idea. He does indeed. Hi, Miles.
Starting point is 00:54:43 Hey, Miles. So, Miles, you're thinking outside the box a little bit. What are you going to do? I've got a bulk fuel delivery. company and I would put it on the side of my mini tanker. Okay, she's got a tanker. It's like a driving billboard, isn't it? If you need the sign, you can text sign S-I-G-N to 33-4-3.
Starting point is 00:55:03 That's where you download it and then you can upload your photos there as well to enter. So that's how we're going to see it. You don't have to put them on your stories or anything and tag us and although that would be nice. You don't need this. No one might be to drive down to the studio. Yeah. So, Miles, if you're promoting us, let us return the favor already. What's your business?
Starting point is 00:55:22 It's called skip the pump.co.com.n.z. So you just book bulk fuel deliveries online. Okay. Skip the pump.compto.NZ. Do you give it cheaper than the other fuel places if you're buying bulk? Yeah, much cheaper than at the petrol station, yeah. What is bulk, though? Do you have to buy like four tanks worth? No, there's no minimum.
Starting point is 00:55:45 Oh, wow. Okay. So you can just come over and fill my car up. Pretty much, and that's actually how we started. Oh, okay, that's good to know. My goodness, me. I think Uber Eats for fuel. Hey, that's great.
Starting point is 00:55:57 What a good idea. These miles. Okay, so that's just one option you could be doing. I love that. Courtney, you said that she'll chuck one of those magnetic billboards on the side of her car. You do a lot of driving, though, court? Not a lot of driving. Okay, good.
Starting point is 00:56:12 All right, what area are you in? We're in Christchurch. Oh, yeah, great. This is perfect. The dream is, like you, Courtney, if there's someone maybe that lives on a very high traffic area, their house is on the corner of a big busy intersection. Get our posters on the side of your fence. Meg actually to win tickets years ago.
Starting point is 00:56:31 Were you in radio then? No, God, no, it was much younger. I was about, I must have been about 15. And it was big day out. If you don't know what big day. It was basically the electric Ave of now. It was big day out. And I wanted my brother to go.
Starting point is 00:56:43 I couldn't go. And he didn't get tickets. And so I asked my mum if we could try and do something to win him tickets. And the radio station at the time did something like this, like promote big day out. and we'll give you tickets. And we climbed up this huge hill. If you live in Wellington,
Starting point is 00:56:57 it was this one of the, one of the big hills when you're driving along the motorway into town from Lower Hart. And we climbed up there. I actually have a scar all down the back of my thigh from when I fell.
Starting point is 00:57:06 And then we accidentally like pocket dialed the ambulance and then they freaked out because they could just hear us like huffing and puffing up a mountain. Anyway, it was fine. We got a big, big huge side that's a big day out
Starting point is 00:57:16 on the side of this mountain. And we lost. Didn't win. Let that be the moral of the story. Just because you put all the work in doesn't mean you'll win. Who won? Some people won that wore t-shirts day-in, day out every day for like months promoting. So, yeah, that's a better idea.
Starting point is 00:57:33 Like a big day-out t-shirt, but never took it off for weeks. Never took it off, like a whole flight of them. Yeah, yeah. So that was the one that won. So I guess you can be as creative as you like, but if you want the sign, just take sign to 3343 or the image. And then what you do with that image over the next few weeks is up to you. But if it gets our attention and we go, that is clever.
Starting point is 00:57:49 And that's obviously been seen by a lot of people. You win a double-past. Yeah. Just make sure you take photos of it as well and tag us in it. Because otherwise we won't see it. You upload photos to a rover as well. Yeah, you can do that that way as well. But man, honestly, the more creative the better.
Starting point is 00:58:05 Okay. Are you ready? Are you ready to win? Three and a half thousand dollars, more than actually, of prizes have been given away over the last four days with our Westpac studio tap. There are no losers. Starting point is 00:58:44 it's getting people out of the woodwork for the very first time. First time caller. Jesse, you're stranger. Hi. Hey, Jesse. Hey, Jesse. Happy Friday. Hey Friday.
Starting point is 00:58:58 Well done, you got through. Jesus, I'm just reading your little blurb that producer Carl's put here. Mum to three boys, how's your mental health? Oh, pretty good. I've got to say, they are nice to me, but I think I deserve a break. How old are the boys? My oldest is 17 and 14 and 9. Okay, so they can kind of look after themselves.
Starting point is 00:59:20 Yeah, good spreading. Yeah, the hard part's done, but, you know, that's still hard work. Yeah, yeah. Fair. But you need a little something for yourself. I like that you're like, this is for me. Yes. I never get anything to myself. Oh, well, let's see, Dan, what you've got on the card today. Okay, I've got the Westpac card in front of me. It's a big novelty card. I'm going to tap it on the contactless machine. Here we go. The Ultimate Shopping Spree. A $750 Westpac prepaid master card to spend on fashion, tech, dining or entertainment.
Starting point is 00:59:56 Oh, get it! Oh my God. Exciting. I can't like to send all that on myself. Yes. That's so good because if it's cash, you go put on bills or something boring and you've got a Westpac credit card topped up to just spend on things you love. Jessie, when was the last time you spent $750 on yourself? I cannot remember.
Starting point is 01:00:19 Honestly, I cannot remember. Neither, no, I always buy everything on clearance. Yeah. Wow. What's the first thing you're going to buy? You're thinking about it now. What's the first thing? I think I'm going to go buy me.
Starting point is 01:00:30 some summer clothes. Yes, fashion. New wardrobe. I think so. Oh, thanks so much, guys. You're very welcome, Jessie. Thanks for calling back. Have a great weekend.

So you don't have to worry about spending too much and thinking, damn, I forgot that bills coming up. It splits it automatically when you get paid. Yeah, that's good for people like Dan, eh, who they see the money and burns a hole in their pocket.
