Starting point is 00:00:00 Can you name the CEO of American Airlines? No. Can you name the CEO of Southwest Airlines? Eh. I know you can't. JetBlue? Spirit? Ryanair?
Starting point is 00:00:10 United? No, no, no, no, no. But if I said Virgin Airlines, everyone here knows about Richard Branson. And he's the only one that's a billionaire with a private island. That's right. Because of a personal brand. Yeah. The other ones, all six CEOs I just mentioned,
Starting point is 00:00:26 they could walk in and slap us. We wouldn't know who the heck they were. We're like, yo, we have no idea who they are. Even though they run multi-zillion dollar airlines that we trust our lives on to get on, don't know who they are, couldn't name any of them. None of them, except Richard Branson. So that's the power of personal brand.
Starting point is 00:00:41 The entrepreneur DNA family is up. Welcome back. This episode is a must listen as they all are. But my good friend, someone that is a brand builder, a super connector, the youngest CEO ever to take a company public, spent $60 million on influencer ads on social media and quite literally probably knows everyone including the Pope, Dan Fleischman is here.
Starting point is 00:01:02 I actually have met the Pope. I knew it. I knew that wasn't even gonna be a far stretch. We could throw an event at the Vatican That's the offer on the table. That would be the offer. I know I'm serious. We could do it No way. We could do it. I never said that out loud. Yeah, we could throw an event there I thought about throwing the mastermind out there because That would be sick. It's a once in a lifetime thing and he doesn't have much time left and so no doubt it'd be an interesting idea. Anyway, sorry. Yeah, yeah. I digress. So listen, this is a big week.
Starting point is 00:01:25 You're in town. We have elevator nights. I wanna talk about what is elevator nights. Why is that any different than all the other things? And then we have the Aspire Tour. You have the 100 million mastermind coming up. This is just a big week. So let's jump into tomorrow night.
Starting point is 00:01:38 I'll be there. I'll be speaking. You invited me to come speak. Talk about elevator nights. So this is a 56 time throwing elevator night. It's totally free No tickets, no sponsors. No sales on stage. It's just free. It's my excuse to get people together It's been like 13 14 years now And so we'll have hundreds of guests there
Starting point is 00:01:54 We've got a bunch of great speakers coming in because they're here for a spire tour or my mastermind or something And so I was like, well, we give it to the people Let's get everyone together and have a free event. And so we have some really big speakers also popping in. So it's gonna be fun. It's gonna be good. It's gonna be fun. Talk about like who wants to show up to Elevator Night? Entrepreneurs, business owners,
Starting point is 00:02:14 people that wanna network with entrepreneurs, business owners. There's a lot of investors come by because there's a lot of companies in the room. And so it's designed for, it's a four hour format and it's just, you know, people go there and they're networking and they're listening and I dig names on stage.
Starting point is 00:02:29 Yeah. Like I could fill up a three day event with the people that are coming through. I got Justin Colby coming. Oh, come on now, come on now. It's, so this is gonna be really fun. The thing that I firmly believe, and you know this to be true,
Starting point is 00:02:39 because it's really kind of a play out of your playbook. It really is about the connections. For sure. Right, I think I've made more money by shaking people's hands than I have with my intentional marketing on Facebook or Google or YouTube. And it's because you take the connections and you be intentional about it. So if you are in Miami, and it probably won't be launched by then, but if you ever can't get to an elevator night or any of the Aspire tours or anything like that, be intentional
Starting point is 00:03:04 when you're in the room. And you know, if you can find Dan to an elevator night or any of the Aspire tours or anything like that, be intentional when you're in the room. And if you can find Dan, come up, shake his hand, you're easy to get a hold of in just the handshake model. But I want you guys to understand what he's done brilliantly in his superhuman power is connecting people. And people need to understand that part. Now let's move on to, we have the Aspire event coming up.
Starting point is 00:03:23 Let's talk about the Aspire event. So Aspire tours every month around the country. So obviously it's here in Miami this week. Whenever they're listening, there's one April 23rd in Denver. Then it goes out to different cities from San Antonio, Dallas, Chicago, New York, etc. All throughout the country. So Aspire tours, typically around 3,000 person events. We usually mix in like a couple members of the Shark Tank.
Starting point is 00:03:44 One or two big names in that city. So if you, like Dallas, we'll get Mark Cuban, depending on the character for that city. Miami, we have A-Rod, Gary Vee, Cody Sanchez, it's a really strong lineup for Miami. And so, Aspire Tour is the same thing. It's a very affordable event. 50 bucks, 100 bucks, 200 bucks.
Starting point is 00:04:03 There's VIP tickets, but it's really a 50 to 200 dollar type event where people can come and learn and Network and in a one day format. I like one day format events way better than like a two day Well, I like one day because you can kind of be succinct Otherwise you start to stretch it and this is kind of pillars, right masterminds need to be three days That's right But large format events to me are one day things when you start to do large from events That are three or four days. We've seen a lot of them come and go, you know We've seen a lot of them that actually ended this year
Starting point is 00:04:30 Because it's hard how it's hard to get people to stay for four days on a large format multi thousand person event There's no doubt. I you know you and I close friend pace, right? he just knocked out of the park and he is his One he's brought up summit the spot up son It's got some you can have 3,500 people, but people will stay there for multiple days because that is niche event. Very.
Starting point is 00:04:50 You're gonna learn real estate. No doubt. Right, you're gonna learn from big name speakers that are really good at real estate, and then he mixed in, so you're gonna learn from like power players, like a Vina Jetty type character that's done a billion dollars,
Starting point is 00:05:01 but then you're gonna learn from someone like, Dr. Jordan. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Jordan Peterson. yeah Jordan Peterson yeah he'll get big names this it's a mix in there that are not real estate focused for the excitement but that is an action-packed because pace Morbius obviously the real estate king dude he's killing I love it so and then we have your hundred million mastermind yeah talk to us about that so this will be our sixth year I started 2019 and it's a100,000 per person.
Starting point is 00:05:28 The majority of the members have a $10 million or higher company. And so it sounds crazy to charge 100K, but the people in the room, if we can help them make or save one or 2%, 100K is nothing. That's right. And so we've curated the room
Starting point is 00:05:42 where it's a lot of business owners, people that have had exits or big in real estate And then I bring in a bunch of instructors that have done over a hundred million in sales Spent over a hundred million on ads been seen by over a hundred million people and so that's where the concept of a hundred million mastermind Experiences I try to get crazy venues crazy cool people and make it so it's a very memorable moment. Where is it here in Miami? Oh, it's in multiple venues and make it so it's a very memorable moment. Where is it here in Miami?
Starting point is 00:06:03 Oh, it's in multiple venues. It's all over town. Mansions and yachts and different experiences. That's phenomenal. So I want to lean in. I want people to understand a big takeaway from you. And I don't know if you could throw a dollar amount, but like, I've been big now because of this podcast and because of the notoriety I've gotten here about being very intentional about the branding of it, the people, creating opportunities. What would you suggest to some of these entrepreneurs? Obviously, elevator night,
Starting point is 00:06:27 Aspire tour, 100 million mastermind, those are the obvious. Go follow Dan immediately. Right now, you'll see it all over here. Go follow Dan immediately. You'll see when they're coming out. How come people use your superhuman power? Like, what do you do? How could you help them build the brand, be conscious about it, be intentional about it, and then help it grow and explode the rest of their businesses? As many of you know, I'm constantly on the move, juggling multiple businesses, traveling,
Starting point is 00:06:54 and ensuring I get my morning workouts in. Staying fresh isn't just a preference, it's a necessity. But let's face it, after back-to-back meetings, juggling two kids at home, and the hustle and bustle of everyday life, body odor can become an issue. But here's the deal, Mando has revolutionized how I stay fresh. This isn't just another deodorant, it's clinically proven to control odor better than a shower
Starting point is 00:07:18 alone with soap. My favorite scent, bourbon leather, it's fresh, it's subtle and doesn't clash with my clone. And I was surprised by how well the Solid Stick works, even after an intense morning workout. Mando's starter pack is perfect for the new customer. It comes with a solid stick deodorant, cream tube deodorant, two free products of your choice, like a mini body wash or a deodorant wipe,
Starting point is 00:07:42 and free shipping. As a special offer for listeners and new customers you get $5 off a starter pack with our exclusive code that equates to over 40% of your starter pack. Use code Colby at shopmando.com that is s-h-o-p-m-a-n-D-O.com. Please support our show and tell them we sent you. Smell fresher, stay drier, and boost your confidence from the head to the toe with Mando. It's collaborations with people,
Starting point is 00:08:18 hosting your own small events. You know, like, you love cars? Do a car meetup every Sunday morning at 8 a.m. And guess what? People invite their friends with Ferraris and Bentleys and Porsches. And all of a sudden you know 30, 40, 50 people with Ferraris and Bentleys and Porsches in your town.
Starting point is 00:08:32 You like watches? You like sports cards? You like poker? You like basketball? You like chess? You wanna do a running club? Invite people to do a thing and people will show up. But more importantly, second, third, and fourth time
Starting point is 00:08:42 they start to bring their ballers, their friends. They're not gonna bring their seven-year-old there They're gonna bring their Friend that's got 18 units of real estate or 18 cars or 18 watches They're gonna bring someone that's and so hosting events is why you see me throw somebody events even now 15 years later I'm still throwing events. Yeah for free Yeah you know 100k free and everything between because
Starting point is 00:09:02 events bring people together and that builds your Rolodex. And the concept is, I can either get a restaurant reservation or buy a restaurant based on my text messages. My relationships allow me to go do deals, go have people get me the hardest reservation, but then I can also invest into a company because of the people I met. And so I'm constantly meeting people
Starting point is 00:09:23 from every walk of life because they're all, it's useful to be able to get into Carbone the same way it's useful to be able to invest into a chain like Ever Bowl. All those things are useful. Yeah, and I think if people can lean into their personal brand, I think, talk about the personal brand. I mean, I'm close friends with most of the people
Starting point is 00:09:39 that are in your mastermind, things of that nature, but they have a brand of themselves beyond just a brand of the company. So people can work with hundreds and hundreds and hundreds or thousands of your competitors. The reason they choose you is how they think of you. And so you want to create an emotional attachment and top-of-mind awareness. Emotional attachment is showcase your life. When you post to your family, we get an emotional attachment to you. You post about traveling,
Starting point is 00:10:06 something's interesting about it. You post your podcast, it edifies you. You're speaking on stage, it edifies you. And you post with your kids, boom, it's an emotional attachment. You posting the different aspects of Justin Kolbe's life makes you stand out when someone thinks about, oh, I wanna do a real estate deal,
Starting point is 00:10:20 or I need a speaker for an event, or I wanna do a podcast. You pop up in my mind because of different aspects of your life. Most people that do social media are just trying to flex. I don't think about the flexers. That's the last person I think about. No one does, right?
Starting point is 00:10:34 For what? I don't have any emotional attachment to you. You're just posting watches and cars. I don't have any emotional attachment to that because you're one of thousands of people doing the same thing. Whether you own them, rent them, borrow them, it's your friends, none of that matters to that because you're one of thousands people doing the same thing Whether you own them rent them borrow them. It's your friends I that none of that matters to me because we've become numb to it. That's right
Starting point is 00:10:50 We're never gonna become numb to seeing you with your kids you with your dogs you you boxing you hiking like you doing stuff That is relatable to us Lamborghinis are not relatable to us. Yeah. Yeah, you know Baydross is just on here a little while ago We were talking about this idea of branding, right? I know you two do a lot together He said something that like I don't think I'll ever forget There is no more if everyone's an influencer knowns an influencer anymore Mm-hmm if everyone's an influencer everyone has the watches the cars the okay
Starting point is 00:11:18 Well, then what is the next level and his point was it's the brand There's no more brands anymore The brand of Justin Kolbe is far bigger than the brand of the science of flipping or entrepreneurial DNA. And that's what his point is. Go ahead. I'll give you a real life example.
Starting point is 00:11:32 All right, I need you to be honest if you're listening to this podcast right now. Don't Google, don't chat, don't research it. Can you name the CEO of American Airlines? No. Can you name the CEO of Southwest Airlines? I know you can't. JetBlue, Spirit, Ryanair, United?
Starting point is 00:11:49 No, no, no, no, no. But if I said Virgin Airlines, everyone here knows about Richard Branson. And he's the only one that's a billionaire with a private island. That's right. Because of a personal brand. The other ones, all six CEOs I just mentioned,
Starting point is 00:12:04 they could walk in and slap us, we wouldn't know who the heck they were. We're like, yo, what, we would have no idea who they are, even though they run multi-zillion dollar airlines that we trust our lives on to get on, don't know who they are, couldn't name any of them. None of them, except Richard Branson. So that's the power of personal brand.
Starting point is 00:12:18 Yeah, and then it opens up so much opportunity, right? And that's why, like, again, even I'm leaning more into my brand that I ever have before even though I have some level of a space I want it to be bigger I want to be more right and I think you know you've written two best-selling books by the way make sure to follow him go get his books like this man is genius he's humble as all get out but truly brilliant but it really the growth of what you can do for your businesses because of your personal brand is insane
Starting point is 00:12:47 People pick up the phone when you text them Yeah, people pick up the they read and watch things when they have a personal brand attached to it There's you have competitors of any category you're in real estate insurance car sales info products coaching personal trainers chef All of you we all do have lots and lots of competitors. And the way to stand out is to make people have an emotional attachment. And then, if you do that, they will refer you clients, they'll buy from you, they'll invest in you,
Starting point is 00:13:14 they'll invite you to things, they'll wanna be a part of your world, they'll listen to you, because of the emotional attachment. If you don't do that and you just post once in a while, or you don't wanna talk about your business, or you don't wanna talk about your personal life, or you don't wanna showcase when you're playing basketball or pickle while, or you don't want to talk about your business, or you don't want to talk about your personal life, or you don't want to showcase when you're playing basketball or pickleball,
Starting point is 00:13:27 like we're not going to feel a part of you, and guess what? The other guys are. What would be the one, two, three things for someone out there that's maybe struggling more about the like selfie, just the stuff that I think you and I see, like they struggle with this.
Starting point is 00:13:42 What could you advise them to do? What can they just start doing to get this going for their own personal brand? So a couple things. One is consistency. Being consistent is super, super critical. Two is showcase parts of your life. Three, you only have to post really once a day, right?
Starting point is 00:13:58 You can post two or three times if you want to, but really just need once a day for what's called top of mind awareness. You really just gotta post once a day. Don't make it overwhelming. Four, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, Snapchat, threads, YouTube, free, free, free, free, free, free, free. Doesn't cost anything.
Starting point is 00:14:15 Everyone at home right now or wherever you are in the car or the gym right now listening, you've got an iPhone, an Android, or a laptop. So you already have one of the nicest cameras on the planet. That's right. So there's nothing wrong there either. and so from every aspect of every angle nothing costs anything different when you're going to work make a quick video or photo you're gonna go to the gym you're gonna go out to dinner with four of your girlfriends you're
Starting point is 00:14:35 just making videos and photos of your real life with the fancy camera on your phone on the social media platforms that are free guys Guys, we could go for hours, but I know you have a big week. I really appreciate you. This is gonna be a whirlwind. This is gonna be a whirlwind. I'm super excited and honored to be a part of it. Thank you for inviting me to come speak.
Starting point is 00:14:53 Elevator Night, Aspire Tour, 100 Million Mastermind, all of these he runs on a consistent basis. So the easiest place in my opinion is to make sure just go follow this man on Instagram, Dan Fleischman, anywhere else that you'd like go follow this man on Instagram, Dan Fleischman. Anywhere else that you'd like to send... That's perfect. Dan Fleischman Instagram. You'll see every time he's holding an event, every location. He is a master marketer. He's brilliant. He's humble. He's kind. I appreciate you being on.
Starting point is 00:15:14 Thanks for having me again. Yes, sir. If this was helpful, make sure you share this with two other individuals who might need a little bit of help with branding and we'll see you in the next episode. Peace.
