Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey there, folks. Welcome to the program. This looks like I'm sitting in one of those photo booths, like where you get your picture taken. No. Today, in fact, this very minute, I am in Dallas, Texas. I'm here for the TPSA Faith Conference,
Starting point is 00:00:26 led up by our friend Lucas Miles. And actually, I just spoke at it. Recently, signed a lot of books, met a lot of wonderful people. And I'll tell a little bit more. more about that in a second, but I want to say on the show today in a couple of seconds, I'm bringing on my dear friend Victoria Jackson. When she comes on, like, I just can't not joke or laugh. Like, she just makes me instantly crazy and happy. And she's just great.
Starting point is 00:00:52 In case you don't know who she is, she was on eight seasons, seven or eight seasons of Saturday Night Live. She appeared on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson 19 times. She would go on there. and do, you know, handstands and recite poetry. And so she has a book out, brand new book called Not Dead Yet about handstands and poetry with photos and stuff. She's coming on a couple of seconds, talk about that. After her, I'm talking to a wonderful pastor that I have just gotten to know, Pastor Pastor Josh McPherson, and he is in Washington State, and I'm going to be at an event with him.
Starting point is 00:01:33 We'll talk about that. that'll be in the second half of today's hour. But he's just a great pastor. I love him and I'm excited about the men's conference. So because I'm in Dallas, tonight, some of you know, I do this thing called Socrates in the city, and we've launched a bunch of Socrates in the city book clubs around the country. One of them is in Dallas, and it's meeting tonight.
Starting point is 00:02:00 So if you're in Dallas and you go on the Socrates and the city website, I'm going to be there tonight. I'm going to show up at the book club, you know, when it starts, because I'm not going to be there for the whole book club. But I'll be there and talk a little bit. And that is here in Dallas, Texas, tonight, because I'm here. And anytime I can show up at these book clubs, I will show up at these book clubs because it's just a fun thing to connect with people who love Socrates in the city and the books that we're reading together. And these are just show up, you don't have to read the book in advance. You just show up.
Starting point is 00:02:34 get a free book. We read it together where someone reads it, someone like me, and it's terrific. So that's what I'm doing tonight here in Dallas. At the TPUSA event, Frank Turek was there. Nobody better than Frank Turek. Tim Barton was there. Some of you know Tim Barton and David Barton. They're the geniuses behind wall builders, which is all about the Christian roots of American history, which, you know, I kind of care a little bit about that, and I write about that in my book on The Revolution. Also, Billy Hallowell was there last night and today. Lucas Miles, of course, but just a wonderful thing, TPSA, Faith, they're heroes,
Starting point is 00:03:23 and it's just a wonderful, it was a wonderful event, and I'm glad, I'm privileged that I got to speak. I spoke, I think it was the first time I've spoken about my new book in the American Revolution, But I will be speaking all over the country. If you want to know where I'm speaking, when I'm speaking, please go to my website, ericmataxis.com. Chances are I will be coming to a church or venue near you. I will be on the road almost constantly from when the book comes out. I'm speaking at Mark Driscoll's Church in Phoenix.
Starting point is 00:03:58 I'm speaking at Skip Heitzig's Church, Albuquerque. I'm speaking in Dallas at Prestonwood, at Jack Graham's Church. It's just kind of amazing already that we've got a lot of stuff. I'll be at Greg Lorry's Church in Orange County. Anyway, those are just some of the highlights, but I'll be speaking a lot in many, many places. I wanted to say today, before we go to Victoria Jackson, because I don't know that you got the memo on this,
Starting point is 00:04:30 we are doing a special weird deal. If you go to my website, Ericmataxis.com, and pre-order the book, and I'm pushing everyone shamelessly to please pre-order the book, please pre-order the book. But if you pre-order the book,
Starting point is 00:04:45 like today, you'll see on the website that you send an email to us, we will send you immediately a PDF of the book so you can read the book immediately. You can read the book
Starting point is 00:04:58 before it comes out. The book will be mailed to you, the beautiful big 600-page book is mailed to you June 2nd when the book officially comes out. But if you pre-order the book, we will send you the PDF immediately and you can read the book now or you can skim the book. But I tell you, nobody's ever done that before. It's kind of a weird thing. It's probably illegal. But please go to ericmettaxas.com. Please do pre-order the book. The pre-orders are a huge factor in success of the book. So please go to ericmantaxas.com. I'll be right back.
Starting point is 00:05:29 Oh, here's Victoria Jackson. Ladies and gentlemen, I think I told you that I would have as my guest, Victoria Jackson, and I'm no liar. Here she is, my guest, Victoria Jackson. Vicki, welcome back. Eric Wintoxus, the busiest man in the world. I'm fairly busy, but listen, you're the star of the show here. You have a brand new book out, Vicky, and I just want to tell my audience,
Starting point is 00:05:59 I have had the chance to look at the book, to read part of the book. It is called Not Dead Yet, a lifetime of handstands, art, and poetry. Vicki, listen, this is the highest compliment, or this is a high compliment. I have a new publishing imprint, and I had hoped to publish this book. And when I saw the book, I really... thought what a wonderful moving. I mean, you are, I mean, I have to say this to my audience in case they don't know. Like, you are extremely talented.
Starting point is 00:06:42 And part of your talent is hiding that talent in such a way that people think like, oh, it's normal. This is just you. And it is and it isn't. And in this book, well, why don't I let you tell my audience about your brand new book. But again, the title, ladies and gentlemen, Not Dead Yet, A Lifetime of Handstands, Art, and Poetry.
Starting point is 00:07:05 Eric, can I tell your audience that you just spoke at Turning Point? No, you can't. How do you know that I just spoke at Turning Point? How do you know that I'm in Dallas? How do you know those? What? I love Turning Point.
Starting point is 00:07:20 I mean, look, here's Charlie Kirk right there. Oh, my goodness. Is she right there? Yes, that's an... artist called Sam Ryan. Yeah, and he did Jesus and he did Charlie that I own. But, yeah, Eric, I'm so honored to get a little minute with you because you're so busy. And I just got your book, your new book, The Revolution. I got it on audio tape. No, you didn't yet. No, you didn't. I mean, audiobook. You didn't get anything because I haven't recorded the audiobook yet, Vicki.
Starting point is 00:07:55 You got fooled. You got ripped off. No, I just went to Amazon and I bought it. You may have paid money, but you're not getting the audiobook until I'm done reading the audiobook. I was just in the studio two days ago working on it, and I know that we're far from done. It's a long book, but I'm excited about it. I'm excited. Eric, I recorded my book, which is so big.
Starting point is 00:08:21 It should be a textbook. They should teach it in college. edg, Victoriaology? Vicki, tell my audience about your book, please. Do I have to pull this out of you? This is basic. Okay. You're my friend.
Starting point is 00:08:35 You've written a wonderful book. Please tell my audience about your book. So is your book, can we buy it in a hardcover now? But back to my book, if you don't mind. Please try to focus on me and my book. My book, you can pre-order it. If you pre-order it, you can read it today. You have to go to my website.
Starting point is 00:08:55 Ericmataxis.com and it'll give you the instructions. But if you pre-order the book now, you'll get the book mailed to you June 2nd, and it's a big, beautiful book. But we will send you a PDF so you can actually read the book today. But Vicki, we're not here to talk about my book. Thank you. Please tell me about, tell my audience about your book. It is a wonderful book.
Starting point is 00:09:16 I was very moved by it, Vicki. You know, I'm not bone smoke. Come on. Well, you did write a nice blurb on the back of it along with John Lovitz. And I appreciate that. But John Lovitz is a liar, and I tell the truth. That's true. I forgot about that.
Starting point is 00:09:32 You forgot about that, didn't you? He's famous for lying, and I'm famous for not lying. Oh, I forgot about that. Okay, basically, my whole life, I've been writing poems, and they're not long, boring, stupid ones like The Iliad and the Odyssey. They're short and witty and deep. And I started when I was 10 and I always wanted to put them in a book in chronological order to kind of see one human's life from beginning to end in poetry and song lyrics. And I did and then when I got my diagnosis, stage four metastatic incurable breast cancer, I was like, well, I got to do it now.
Starting point is 00:10:23 You know? I mean, I'm not going to wait. So I, um, then I've always wanted to assemble all my handstand photos since I was born. What one day I've always wanted to, um, to assemble all of my handstand photos. And when I went to do it, I realized, unfortunately, there are none. But in your case, there are zillions of them. Well, yours would have. You're so funny. Okay. What happened was when I was, when Kevin Nealon asked me to open for him.
Starting point is 00:10:59 Oh, now we're going to name drop. Is that what this is about? John Lovitz, Kevin Eland. Oh, my gosh. We'll be right back. Seriously, we'll be right back. Starting point is 00:12:37 I'm talking to my friend Victoria Jackson. She has a new book out called Not Dead Yet, a lifetime of handstands art and poetry. Vicki, no kidding. there's so much in the book. People who don't really know you, they're going to be shocked. I mean, you are very talented. Your poetry is beautiful, witty, clever, genuinely, wonderful.
Starting point is 00:13:00 So how old were you when you started writing poems? What's the first, the earliest poem that's in here? A mustache by Victoria Jackson. How, how, Vicky, the question was. I was 10. Thank you. I was looking for a number. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:13:16 Okay. So to finish my thought before the commercial, I also wanted to assemble my handstand photos chronologically from when I was born until I was 65, which this was on the Greece trip with Eric Mataxis and his fans. This was a mosque in Turkey. Was it Turkey we were in? I think technically that's the name. We say Asia Minor. Oh, yes. It was Istanbul. And so that's 65 years old. And then, then of course, I have, what happened was when I was opening for Kevin Neal, and he asked me open for him in the 90s. And I said, I don't have a stand-up act anymore. And he goes, well, what did you do on Carson? I said, I don't know. I got to look it up. So I looked it up, and I had a handstand, and I did poetry on Carson. I was like, hey, I wonder if I can still hold my handstand. About that time I cut my wrist. wrist in a dishwasher accident. And I started really missing the ability to do a handstand. I had never not had the ability before. Was that a cry for help?
Starting point is 00:14:26 Was that a suicide attempt disguised as a dishwasher accident? Or was it a genuine dishwasher accident? And please be honest. It was not a suicide attempt, but it could have unconsciously been a cry for help. Unconsciously, it could have been a lot of stuff. But lucky for us, we don't believe in that. garbage. Okay, so you had a dishwasher accident in the 90s. This is fascinating. Please keep going. So I thought, hey, this is the first time in my life. I can't do a handstand because my wrist has,
Starting point is 00:14:59 you know, had surgery and everything. So when my wrist came back, I said, I am never going to take the handstand for granted again. And I started doing it in every city I did stand up in, in every country I would go to. And shouldn't we all live like that if we can do a something, we just need to do it. Don't take it for granted, folks. If you can do a handstand, do one now before the show is over. I found my youngest one. This was when I was four, I think, in my backyard with a trampoline. You're four years old in that photo? I think I might be five, but I think I'm four. And that's my little ghetto neighborhood. And then I realized, why was I doing them all the time? I was like, oh. To forget? Because my dad was doing them.
Starting point is 00:15:47 Oh. That's my dad. And then I went, oh, wait a minute. And my mom was doing them. Listen, I don't know how to put this, but that's one weird family, Vicki. That will mess you up. But you turn out okay. Well, he was a Baptist deacon also, so he taught me the truth about God.
Starting point is 00:16:09 That scripture is very clear we need to do handstands. Okay, if you're not doing handstands, you're in rebellion. Right. So my whole book is the thread through it is the Word of God and how through every trial I expressed my emotional pain and poetry. Everywhere I went, I did handstands and everything I've been through. I read the Bible and digested it, memorized it, and it's in my heart. And the Word of God has brought me through my whole life. So my real purpose of the book is to spread the gospel and bring glory to God.
Starting point is 00:16:47 And before you go to the commercial, you want to hear, oh, that's one of my stack, handstand statues. You want to hear a short poem and you guess what it's about? Okay. One of your poems is in here, Eric. No. The one you helped me write. Oh, that's your poem, but I'd help you write it, yes. Well, go ahead.
Starting point is 00:17:10 Go ahead. What's the poem? What is this? Okay, this one, try to guess what it's about. If knives could talk, a knife at the crossroads of life and death slipped down the bloody path and ended up posing for rubberneckers at the trial of the century. Everyone knows who did it. If only knives could talk or dead people could talk or murderers told the truth. Wouldn't it be a better world if we lived in a world where murderers told the truth?
Starting point is 00:17:45 I mean, yeah, people murder, but tell the truth. I think we are going to go to a commercial. We're going to sell some Alpo and then we'll be back. But I believe that poem might be referring to someone named Orenthel, James Simpson. We'll be right back. Hey there, folks. If you have any questions about crypto, and I certainly do, we'd like to recommend that you go to Metaxus,
Starting point is 00:18:15 Crypto.com, Metaxuscripto.com. These are our partners at BlockTrusts IRA. You can ask whatever questions you have at metaxis crypto.com. Welcome back, folks. I'm talking to somebody who has written a poem about Arendhal James Simpson. We think of him as OJ. So that was the poem. But most of the poems in the book are much more fun, Vicki. You, We've written some just spectacular poems. We're going to have you back soon because today's weird. We're in doing the show from Dallas. But there's so much wonderful stuff in this book.
Starting point is 00:18:54 Eric, I just recorded my book on audiobook too, so I understand what you're going through now recording your audio book. And in my audio book, I went off script a little bit and told some show business stories and all the lyrics that the poems that were soft. You went off script on the audio book. Vicki, you're not allowed to do that. Really? We'll soon see. I'm waiting to see if they...
Starting point is 00:19:22 You went off script. It's an audio book. People want the book. You know, you can add stuff, but, you know, you have to be clear that this is not in the book. Well, in the instructions, it says you have to stick mostly with your script. One instructions. These long instructions, but I told stories about my Sean. Connery's story, my Warren Beatty story, I kind of slipped them into the audio. And if you get my audiobook, I sing my songs instead of reading them. Okay, Biggie, let me break it down for you as an author, as a fellow author. You really don't want to be pushing the audiobook in this way because then people aren't going to buy the book. And by the way, folks, if you don't buy the book, the whole point of the
Starting point is 00:20:09 book is the amazing photographs. Like, no kidding. That's the point. you don't get that in an audio book. So maybe people want to buy the audiobook to augment the book. So the book is titled Not Dead Yet by Victoria Jackson. And Victoria, let me ask you, how is your health? You know, because you throw around terms like stage four cancer, how are you doing? I'm doing great. See, the bad thing about the audio book is you can't see the handstand pictures,
Starting point is 00:20:37 but I describe them. So blind people would like that. But the good part of the audiobook is instead of a real book is, Instead of reading my lyrics, you hear them being sung. So there's pros and cons to all the forms of my tome. This is my tome of my life. It's a big book. This is my great, this is where I'm going to be buried.
Starting point is 00:21:01 I'm on the drawer on the very top. Wait, wait, wait. The picture you're showing right now, you're telling me that behind you is a mausoleum? That's where my crypt where I'm going to be buried. You have a crypt? Wait, wait. You have a crypt, Vicky? Yeah, here's the funny story. I told Paul. Yeah, tell us the funny crypt story if you don't mind. Yeah, well, I have funny stories in my book, too, not just poems.
Starting point is 00:21:27 I know. So this is in the book. I said, Paul, why aren't we buying our graves? I have stage four canceled. Why aren't we buying our graves? You don't want to be buried with me, do you? You want to be buried with your next girlfriend or your next wife after I die. And he goes, no, Vicki, I want to be buried with you. I want to be buried with you. In fact, I like to be buried with you right now because I'm going to kill us both because I can't take it anymore, Vicky. Did he say that?
Starting point is 00:21:50 Yes. And so he goes, I'm free tomorrow. So we went to the cemetery. And I told the lady, I don't want to be under dirt. I don't want to be burned. I would like to be in the drawer because Jesus wasn't underground. He was in an above ground thing. And so she said, oh, they call that a crypt.
Starting point is 00:22:09 We don't have any more single crypts. We only have tandem crypts. And I go, what's that? She goes, well, two people are in the same crypt long ways. The first person who passes goes in feet first. The second person goes in head first, so your heads are touching for eternity. So you're how romantic that your moldering skulls will be near each other. That's really...
Starting point is 00:22:38 So that's even more romantic than I even dreamed. So me and Paul got a tandem crypt where our heads will be, and then we know what Paul said? He said, is it extra for earmuffs? That's pretty funny, Vicki. That is pretty funny. He's funny. But they should give you like three for the price of two. If you're, you know, if you're springing for a tandem crypt, maybe you could bring in a pet or something.
Starting point is 00:23:05 Let me leave you with my last home. Yeah, go quickly because, but we will have you back. But go ahead. It's the title of the book. Not dead yet. Never will be because Jesus died and rose for me. Thank you. No, seriously, your stuff is, much of it is genuinely profound and beautiful and moving.
Starting point is 00:23:31 And I really, I was very, I was very moved. I told you this by parts of your book. I emailed you that when I read it, I thought this is beautiful stuff. So the title is not dead yet by Victoria Jackson. Vicki, we will have you back soon because we've only scratched the surface of lunacy. And we'll love you. And we'll talk to you soon. We're going to see you in Oxford.
Starting point is 00:23:54 Yes. Hey there, folks. I've been saying that 2026 must be the year of accountability, whether talking about government spending or the way we steward our own families, we have a moral duty to seek the truth. But let's be honest, in the world of Medicare, truth is often the fact. first casualty. Seniors, like my 91-year-old mom, are bombarded with mailers and pushy phone calls that feel more like propaganda than helpful guidance. This is why I value my partners at Chapter. They operate on a different principle, independence. Chapter is the only national advisor that reviews every single plan available to ensure you have the coverage that actually fits
Starting point is 00:24:35 your needs. They've helped people find clarity and on average have historically helped members to save an average of $1,100 a year on health care costs. Their support is completely free and takes under 20 minutes. If you have questions about your Medicare or want to ensure you're a good steward of your resources, please call Chapter at 571-421-1-2-5-3. That's Chapter at 571-421-1253. Talk to a real person and get the honest answers you deserve. Hey, folks, welcome back.
Starting point is 00:25:08 I have a new friend who is going to be my guest right now. He's a pastor. His first name is Josh. His last name, we're not so clear on that. I think it's McPherson, but somebody said to me the other day, no, no, no, there's no fear in McPherson. So let me just introduce him as Pastor Josh,
Starting point is 00:25:32 my new friend. Pastor Josh, how do you pronounce your last name? It's McPherson. and I think my mom has told everyone she's ever met that there's no fear of McPherson and somehow my mom who lives in a town of 300 people, her exhortation has made it all the way to New York so that you even heard it.
Starting point is 00:25:49 Now think about that. That's the power of a mom who loves her boy. I was going to say there's something wrong with that, but I'm not here to judge. I'm not here to judge. McPherson. Well, listen, you and I, we were connected by friends
Starting point is 00:26:03 and then we met at the White House, which makes us sound like big shots. We met at the White House. There was a White House Easter lunch. And President Trump spoke. He cursed briefly. And then he told us about how Franklin Graham, who was in the front row, had written him a letter about you shouldn't curse.
Starting point is 00:26:23 And a good time was had by all. It was great. But one of the highlights for me was meeting you because I'd heard great things about you. And you, first of all, you are in Wenatchee, Washington, in the great state of Washington. And you are doing an event. Let's start with that, because then I don't want to talk about the event,
Starting point is 00:26:45 but you're doing an event on June 19th and 20th. That's Father's Day weekend. We're talking about 15,000 men. Ladies and gentlemen, do you hear this? 15,000 men, and I'm going to be there. It's called Freedom Khan, rise of the statesman, an American Congress of Christian men.
Starting point is 00:27:09 So I'm excited about this. I want to talk about this, but I want my audience to get your story a little bit, Josh. Where were you raised? How did you become a pastor? What is your story? It's a huge privilege to be on the show, Eric. Thanks for having me today.
Starting point is 00:27:24 It was very fun meeting you in D.C. And we are kind of big time because we were at the White House for like almost two hours. Almost right. I wouldn't leave. A Filipino steward had to drag me out. It's always a Filipino steward at the White House. I don't know how the Filipinos got in there. But no, it really was, it was a great privilege to be there and to meet so many brothers and sisters in the faith. But talking to you, I got real excited about this event and about your background. And I think that. that you know when you meet somebody who is a hero in the faith you've been really heroic and outspoken it's encouraging it's wonderful so so yeah what's your story what's your backstory how did you did you grow up in Washington well I'll I'll contest the the hero the faith part here in a second you're very gracious but uh yeah
Starting point is 00:28:22 it was born to I was reading a book by one of my favorite historians on the Wright brothers and I'm gonna butcher the name of their town their parents but But one of the stories he tells is the Wright brothers were being asked one day after they had, you know, built the plane and essentially pioneered this massive, you know, discovery. They were asked, what's the key to success? And they said, well, first, you have to be born in, and then they named their hometown. And secondly, it's to be born to, and then they named their parents. And the point they were making was it was a gracious way to say, God providentially set us up for success. we would have to work at failing.
Starting point is 00:29:00 So if someone asked me, gosh, what's been the key to whatever major success I may or may not have had? I'd say, well, first you've got to be born in Leavenworth, Washington to Greg and Ken and McPherson. They're heroes of the faith. It's too early in the morning to get emotional,
Starting point is 00:29:14 but my dad's the greatest man I know. And my mom is a saint, and they had two sons. My brother is one of the finest pastors I know. One of my closest friends to date. We live on 10 acres, five acres of orchards. together. And so my mom got homeschooled me before it was legal to homeschool in Washington
Starting point is 00:29:32 State. It was just barely legal when they started. My mom had deep convictions about patriotism and discipleship. That should be the title of your biopic, barely legal. Yeah, totally, totally. And so yeah, homeschooled us boys and raising a Christian home. My dad was in ministry. My mom and dad had a family ministry doing family seminars and marriage counseling. My dad was like 15, 20,000 hours of crisis counseling. And he'd come home, Eric, and he would, tell me the stories of the situations that he had been in. And to me, it was just time with dad. But looking back, he was disciplining his sons and relational success and the principles
Starting point is 00:30:07 of God and the importance of men doing their job in the home. And when they don't, the catastrophic failure that follows, it takes 10 men to take their place in a life of that family. And so I grew up and it was kind of weird, but a lot of my friends were, it was kind of popular to be like the rebellious pastor kid. I don't, I mean, you could get a book deal. You could get a, it was just kind of weird. like, oh, it's so hard.
Starting point is 00:30:29 We live in a glass bubble and blah, blah, blah. I could not relate at all. The best thing in the world to me was that I was born to a pastor and his wife and I got to be the son of a minister. And so it was just such a privilege to me and I realized looking back now that I have four kids, 20, 19, 15, or 16 and 13, my kids,
Starting point is 00:30:50 one's married. I've realized the Jesus of my dad was not that he, my friends had father wounds because their dad sacrificed them. for the ministry and they felt that. It wasn't that my dad didn't work hard. My dad did 70-hour weeks. My mom and dad traveled the state
Starting point is 00:31:03 speaking of marriage and family. But we never once felt sacrificed for the ministry, Eric. What my mom and dad did is a genius move was they brought us into the work. So we got to join them on the front line of battle so that we felt like together we were making sacrifices as a family
Starting point is 00:31:18 for ministry. And that makes all the difference in the world. And so it's no wonder that both of their sons are in ministry today. And I just could not honor my mom and dad more. You don't have some story of like, you know, you lay down the crack pipe at this age or that age. Or maybe you laid it down very early, like at age three or four. It's one of those stories.
Starting point is 00:31:36 No, because it's hard to, you know, it's so beautiful. Yes. When somebody doesn't have the story of like, you know, I killed three people and then Jesus came into my life. It's kind of better not to kill those people. I'm not saying I don't have the potential capacity to, especially when I come up against bureaucracy in Washington State. I'm just saying, God saved me from a life of sin and abotry at three of my parents' home. And it is a beautiful thing. And the crazy thing is, Eric, is my dad's pointing out to me, I think I had the best childhood that you could possibly imagine.
Starting point is 00:32:09 Yeah, my dad looked at me and said, son, what you're giving your boys and your daughters are better than what you received. So you could always build on a legacy before, and that's the privilege that we have. Well, you, to get to this event, I mean, when you were telling me about this event, we were in the White House. And you're telling me about the event. And I was getting very excited about it. So tell my audience, because people from all over the country are coming to this, folks, all over the country. This is just a great thing. But what was your, how did you come up with the idea to have this event?
Starting point is 00:32:45 And again, it's June 19th and 20th. But where did you get the idea to do this? Well, we've been doing this conference for men every year at our church. We just called the Thousand Man Rally. and we've been doing for six years. Year one was battle ready. Year two was forged. Men are forged.
Starting point is 00:33:01 Year three was into the briefs to call the men to both defend and attack. Year four was killed the dragon. That's the fundamental job ever, man, I believe. The first one is that when he sees in the mirror when you wake up in the morning. And then last year was Brotherhood. And so we were coming up, last year,
Starting point is 00:33:16 we were coming up on this anniversary of our nation. We were like, what could we do? It would be great and celebrate this moment. And we began dreaming of it. what if we rented out the Gorge amphitheater? It's one of the largest outdoor amphitheaters in the West Coast. It's a stunning setting right on the Columbia River. The Navy pilots train, and they fly their jets right over it every day.
Starting point is 00:33:36 And it's just this beautiful setting. We thought, gosh, we should do something big. Famultaneously, we were looking at where we're at as a nation, where we are in particular as a state. We can get that if you like. I believe Washington is uniquely demonic in the stronghold that is established for our nation. So if you're a man across the country who wants to know where the breach in the wall of our nation is, I'm telling you, Washington State is one of them.
Starting point is 00:34:00 We are a sanctuary state for every demonically wicked idea that you hear or see. And I haven't seen one wicked thing, Eric, happen in other crazy blue states that we didn't first do five years ago. So we are on this like black site, special ops, R&D site for all the bad ideas of demonic secular progressivism. So I believe Washington was a stronghold. I thought, what if we held an event in the center of the state and just put a dagger in the heart of the dragon to say, no, no, this is a Christian nation and it's time for the men to rise and declare it so.
Starting point is 00:34:34 And so it began praying. And to be honest, we've never done an event like this. I mean, the event holds 20,000. We thought it'd be great to get maybe five. We opened up registration and boom. We had more men registered in a few days and we've ever had to come in the history of this event. And it's just growing and growing.
Starting point is 00:34:50 And so here's where the moment of death things started rising. We talked about at lunch that just was crazy. We were looking at the fact that the year of Jubilee in the Bible was the year where they were supposed to set aside their normal routine and celebrate a couple things. Freedom, family, and it was the year where all the property would go back to the owners and they would kind of let all the debts go. What we realized was the year Jubilee, this year is going to be our fifth-fifth as a nation. So our 50th anniversary, was, of course, the year that Fourth of July that two of our founders died on the same day,
Starting point is 00:35:26 and Congress declared the year of the American Jubilee. Well, the number five signifies God's providential and unmerited favor and blessing on a people. And this is our fifth, 50th year of Jubilee as a nation, and it just began having a sense of destiny. So this is where it got crazy. We're like, we should call it Freedom Conference. We should call it an American Congress of Christian Men,
Starting point is 00:35:49 because this isn't a conference or an event or go and hear some great speakers. It was a Congress of Christian men who founded this nation. And I believe two or 50 years later, it's going to be a Congress of Christian men who will preserve and save it. Hold on. Go into a break. You can find out more at FreedomConn26.com.

Starting point is 00:37:53 under Trump's phenomenal economic leadership. Why not you next? Welcome back. I'm talking to my new friend, Pastor Josh McPherson. There's no fear in McPherson. A little birdie told me that, and the birdie also told me that he heard it from your mom. And he just had to get that information to me.
Starting point is 00:38:14 So Pastor Josh McPherson, You're in Wenatchi. I have been to Wenatchi, I believe twice now. And how far are you from Spokane? So we're right in the center of the state. We're two and a half hours from Spokane, two and a half hours from Seattle. Either way.
Starting point is 00:38:31 Wow. Okay. So you're right in the middle of the state and you're doing this event at the Gorge amphitheater. And you and I agree, I haven't talked about this too much. that I believe this year, which I have called the supercentennial, this is America's super centennial, is a Jubilee year. In other words, it's a year in which God is doing great things. We don't just say that to puff ourselves up or to inspire ourselves. I actually believe that God has ordained
Starting point is 00:39:09 that great things are happening this year. And that doesn't mean that we don't have difficulties these because clearly we do. But I really believe this is an historic year and that the supercentennial, the 250th is a Jubilee of Jubilees. And that's what you were just talking about. And we don't know what's going to happen, but something is happening. Faith is on the rise. And the idea that, you know, 15,000 men are going to converge at the Gorge amphitheater in Washington state, this is a big deal. And it's kind of like a Congress of Warriors, people who love America, who love liberty, who love the Lord. And so I'm excited about it. I'm speaking on the opening night, which is Friday, June 19th. And your sense of this, you and I were talking, and you shared with me
Starting point is 00:40:05 the name of the town is. Yeah. So, yeah, so. As we were playing this event, one of my guys on staff, he's kind of a historian theologian, he's like, hey, he's a crazy story. 1775, George Washington signs the commission papers to become the general of the continental army. And, of course, that was a pretty big acquisition for the continental army. And it was destiny. It was divine providence. He was the number one draft pick that year.
Starting point is 00:40:37 100%. And Congress jumped all over it. Yeah. It was a big deal. So he signs up to lead the Continental Army, and he's leading this kind of rag-tag band of men against this massive global superpower. And my pastor buddy goes, he goes, hey, this is crazy.
Starting point is 00:40:54 He goes, guess how many men were in the Continental Army? And we had just written up on the board our prayer. We were hoping to have 15,000 men. And that's a prayer, right? I mean, it's not guarantee. We're hoping that 50,000 men. And I go, how many? He goes, in the Contal Army, when George Washington signed those commission papers,
Starting point is 00:41:11 there was 15,000 men. What if God gathered a second continental army, not just a continental, but a kingdom army, not to start a nation, but to preserve it. I thought, oh, my gosh, that's crazy. He goes, but it gets crazier. Guess what day he signed his commission papers to become the general of the continental army?
Starting point is 00:41:28 And I'm like, you're kidding me. He goes, nope, June 19th, 1775, 251 years to the day, our conference launches. And then he goes, but check this out. He goes, Josh. What town did they build the Gorge Amphitheater in? And I looked at them and I'm like, oh my gosh, they built it in a little unknown town named George Washington. So we're praying.
Starting point is 00:41:54 No, wait, no, wait, wait, wait, hold on, because this is a little, this is a little complex. What is the name of the town? Not the name of the state. The name of the town is what? The name of the town is George. Stop. The name of the town is George. Yes.
Starting point is 00:42:10 The actual name of the town is George. That's on people's email address. The town of George is located in the state of Washington. Yes. So if you live there or you go there, you are in George Washington. That's right. And the theater is the Gorge Theater. Yes.
Starting point is 00:42:28 Not the George Theater. The Gorge Theater. So we're going to be at the gorge in George Washington. Yeah, you got it, buddy. On the 251st anniversary of George Washington, signing the commission papers, that this is crazy stuff. So we're going to be in George, comma, Washington
Starting point is 00:42:47 at the Gorge amphitheater. It feels like destiny. We're calling men to the only state named after our founding president or a founder at all. We're calling them to that place on the day he became the general of the Kondel army to call a new kingdom army to rise as statesmen,
Starting point is 00:43:07 not the founding nation, but I believe to preserve and to save it. And Eric, I told you this at lunch to the White House, and it's hard to get emotional or not get emotional when I say it. But if we have a nation in 100 years, and you and I both know, that's a huge question mark that should not be taken as a given. Because what is the historical pattern,
Starting point is 00:43:27 what would be normal is that we lose our nation. Constitution Republicans. You know, excuse me, I didn't realize we're out of time in this segment. We'll be right back talking to Pastor Josh McPherson. Hi, everyone. If you were injured in an accident, listen up. We have legal professionals standing by to answer your questions. You can find out if you have a case and how much it's potentially worth.
Starting point is 00:43:52 I'm Gina Bellich, along with Super Bowl champ and two-time pro bowler Vernon Davis. So Vernon, tell everyone watching who should call right now. Well, Gina, if you or someone you know were injured in an accident that was not your fault, give us a call right now. You can find out if you have a case and how much money is potentially worth. Thanks, Vernon. You know, the phones have really been busy. So what kind of calls have we been getting? We're getting calls about all types of accidents, from car accidents to slipping falls and so many others. So if you were injured in an accident, don't go at it alone. Call for a free case review and find out how much your case is potentially worth.
Starting point is 00:44:30 Thanks, Vernon. You heard the man. Call now to find out how much money you qualify for. Welcome back. I'm talking to Pastor Josh McPherson. And you were, just saying i cut you off if we have a nation in a hundred years from now yes i i've told us to our team i've been telling us there when we talk to if we have 100 this is our heart for the for the event eric if we have a nation in 100 years and that should not be assumed because the pattern of constitution republics is you make a 10 12 13 years and then it dissolves so that we've made at 250 is divine providence divine grace divine mercy without question any other thought is hubris if we are still here 100 years, which is a huge question mark.
Starting point is 00:45:11 But if we are as a Christian nation, I'm praying, they couldn't tell the story of that nation without telling the story of this weekend where God did a move and a work, not only of revival, but a move that sparked reformation, the hearts of men rippling out to each of their individual states. That's our prayer, not an event, but a hearkening, a summoning to a movement. Well, look, I speak at a lot of events, and I told you at the White House, I am very excited about this. I mean, first of all, the fact that 15,000 men are gathering
Starting point is 00:45:45 at the Gorge amphitheater in George Washington, it's just, you know, it's beautiful. It's poetic, and it seems more than that. It seems providential. You're a warrior for liberty, warrior for the kingdom, and we need warriors. And I know that just, you know, out of respect to me, you took off your camouflage.
Starting point is 00:46:08 to come on the program. He said, you know what? Eric's going to be wearing like a two-piece or a double-breasted jacket or something like that. I'm going to take off my camo. And I just want to let you know before you came on this program, I took off my camo. I was wearing a camel hoodie, you know, kind of Desert Storm Camo. That's my go-to camo. And I was chewing camo tobacco.
Starting point is 00:46:34 And I had all that going on. And I had my guns up here. And I got rid of all that. just because I know it's a different vibe. But this event, you're expecting people from all around the country to come to this event. Yeah, we opened up registration five days ago. I think we have 21 states represented already.
Starting point is 00:46:52 It's just wild. And I tell guys, if you're in a red state, hey, come to a dark blue state and help flip this thing because everything toxic that happens here, I guarantee is coming your way. And a lot of guys in red states don't realize that many progressive secular Democrats, and this may be, you can edit this out of it,
Starting point is 00:47:09 too controversial, are like locusts. With their votes and their policies and ideology, they destroy where they're living, and then they move, and they take their ideology with them to destroy the next good place they go to. Proof and point. We've been the longest democratic,
Starting point is 00:47:25 a democratic-held state in the union, beating even Hawaii. That's both executive branch and the legislative branch, and all the judges are crazy, woke too. But here's what disingenuous. the last two governors that were governors for the total of 26 plus years, whatever, they both moved to Idaho.
Starting point is 00:47:44 Neither one of them have to pay the gas tax that they put in place. Neither one of they have to pay the death tax they signed in a law. Neither one have to pay the capital gains tax they put in place. Neither do they have to pay the income tax that is here now. They can't even live in the states that govern. It's that bad. And here's what I want to say is come here and stop it here before it comes to you. And so many guys, Eric, as you know this in red states have been lulled to sleep
Starting point is 00:48:07 because they're comfortable and the Warren Blake and freedom has put them to sleep with this conference, I want to wake them up not to get political but to become a statesman. There's just this whole,
Starting point is 00:48:17 you know, the church can't get political, blah, blah, blah. Let's stop using word political. Let's talk about the noble and high calling of statesmanship where God calls you as a man to be a family man, a businessman, a churchman,
Starting point is 00:48:28 and then there's the capstone of the culminative work of those three roles. He become a statesman, a man who cares about the state of the nation he lives in and makes it his aim to do sacrificial work to love the most people because you and I both know Eric that politics are rooted in policies and policies will either love your neighbor or hurt your neighbor which is why the church has to go there and so if you're in a
Starting point is 00:48:53 red state show up if you're in a blue state we want to give you a playbook for how to flip a state we're asking God to give us Washington state that we can have our homeland again and and the great delusion Eric is that Washington is lost Washington is at lost because the church is still here. And if the church would wake up, we'd get it back. And here's a stat and cut me off when I'm out of time. 1.2 million Christians did not vote in the last election cycle, in Washington State. We lost the governor's race to the most progressive, secular, anti-Christian governor we've
Starting point is 00:49:25 ever had. And that's saying something. We lost that race by 416,000 votes, which means the reason that evil is in power is because the church stayed home. There's a super, look, as you know, and we're at a time here, but as you know, I wrote a book called Letter to the American Church. Folks, if you want to understand why the church needs to be activated, as Bonhoeffer tried to activate the German church and failed, read my book, Letter to the American Church. There's nothing more important than this. The fact that you, Josh, are on this. I'm excited. Folks, go to FreedomCon,26.com. Please, I hope you come. FreedomCon, 26.com.com. Josh, God bless you. You as well, Eric. Thanks for having me.
