Hey there, folks.
Some of you know where I am.
If you follow me on Instagram, you definitely know where I am.
If you get my newsletter, my email, you may know where I am.
But I'll tell you where I am.
I'm in Lexington, Massachusetts.
We're here for a special Socrates in the city retreat, Lexington and Concord, Boston.
it's been absolutely wonderful.
I have to say very moving.
I'm right now half a mile from the Lexington Green
where it all happened.
And it's very hard to process sometimes.
I mean, you're looking at houses.
If you know the history, if you read my book,
you'll know the history.
But it's so amazing that Paul,
Weir rides here to warn people on April 18th, on the night of April 18th, 1775.
He warns the folks in Lexington, they muster on the green.
The British don't come for several hours.
So they're kind of hanging around waiting.
They go to the nearby Buckman Tavern.
Suzanne and I went into the Buckman Tavern.
It's there.
Exactly.
you know, it's all there. It's amazing. There's a couple of houses that are there. There's one of the houses,
I don't think I describe it in my book, but one of those who is killed at Lexington, he crawls,
he makes his way to his doorstep and dies on his doorstep. The doorstep is there. It's unbelievable.
When you go into the Buckman Tavern, they have a little museum there. And I, it was,
we could not get over it. They have a snuff box, a pewter snuff box that was in the pocket of one of the soldiers killed at Lexington. And it's there. There's a powder horn that belonged to one of the soldiers that fought there. It's just amazing. And there are other things there. There's a drum that was there. I mean, this is such history here. And then we went to Concord and looked at that. You go to the old North Bridge and you can see.
see the hill. I talk about it on my
Instagram. It's right
there. This is the hill where
the American militia
come down the hill
in formation.
And the British
are shocked.
They're freaked out because they
think that, oh, the Americans are just this rabble
and they're going to be afraid of us.
And the Americans
advance
down the hill toward
the British troops and they advance
in military formation.
It kind of unhinges the British
and the British basically retreat.
They skedaddle. They freak out.
And so it's humiliating for them
for the British.
The whole thing,
to be actually here
where it happened,
it's extraordinary. We're filming
a number of Socrates in the city interviews.
We're doing a series of 13
revolutionary
to come out
around my book
interviews for Socrates in the city.
Today, I interviewed Iris Stahl, who wrote a fantastic book about Samuel Adams,
who obviously I write about at length in my book.
I interviewed today Nathaniel Philbrick, who is a great, great author.
He's written many, many books, three wonderful books on the American Revolution.
And I use his books for research and writing my book.
So it's a joy to get to me.
meet some of these folks whose books have meant so much to me and have helped me in writing my book
on The Revolution.
And two nights ago, I interviewed William Hazel Grove, who wrote a book on Henry Knox.
So when you read my book, you'll be familiar with all these characters.
It really is just the story of Henry Knox is one of the great stories, The Revolution,
but to interview somebody who wrote a whole book about that.
So we've done a lot.
I guess this is a good time for me to remind you, if you have not preordered the book,
book, please, please pre-order the book. Go to ericmetaxis.com. You'll see a number of ways to pre-order.
If you order it through ericmetaxis.com, it will tell you how you can read the book immediately.
So even though you won't get the physical book until June 2nd when it comes out officially,
you can read it immediately. And a lot of the people here on this Socrates retreat have already
read the book. So it's really fun to get to talk to them about the book. And it is amazing to
be here. To be in Boston, yesterday, we visited the Paul Revere House. The house was built in
1680. Paul Revere, of course, lived in there, you know, 100 years later. But it's just amazing.
It hasn't changed. It's in Boston's North End. There it is, the Paul Revere House where he lived.
We also visited the Old North Church, which is magnificent, magnificent building built in, I think,
the 1720s, Charles Wesley preached there.
You just think, really?
He preached from this pulpit.
He was in this church.
He preached there in the 1730s, Charles Wesley.
And of course, that's the steeple from which they put the two lanterns,
one if by land, two if by sea.
So the history is just so beautiful and amazing that I,
I'm very moved to be here.
And we walked through the downtown of Boston
and passed, I went into the old granary burial ground.
And it's unbelievable.
Chris, I don't know if I,
I don't think I mentioned this to you,
but you go in there and you can't even believe it.
There is John Hancock is buried there,
one of the great heroes of the revolution.
James Otis Jr.
My book starts with James Otis Jr.
Because John Adams says that James Otis Jr.
was arguing in court in Boston in 1761
against the writs of assistance,
which was this British,
it's a long story,
but the point is that at the heart of this argument
was, what are our rights as British citizens
living in Massachusetts.
Why do we have to submit to this?
And John Adams says that in that courtroom,
as he watched James Otis Jr.,
he says independence was born that day.
That's when it all began.
He remembers he was in the room.
He was 25 years old.
So I go to the old granary burial ground with Suzanne,
and there is the grave of James Otis Jr.
He died in 1783.
And that's one of these crazy stories
where he kind of began to lose his mind in his latter years.
And John Adams writes about that I quote John Adams in my book.
And it's kind of sad.
And at some point he says to his sister,
if when I go out of this world into eternity,
I hope it is by a stroke of lightning.
We don't know why he said that.
But we know that in 1783,
he's standing in the door of a home in one of the suburbs around Boston
where he was living at that time.
and a thunderstorm comes,
he's talking to people inside the house,
he is struck by lightning.
He goes into eternity
precisely as he seems to have prophesied he would,
you know, 10 or 15 years earlier.
It's just one of these amazing things.
But to be standing there and I think he is buried here,
Samuel Adams, the great Samuel Adams,
is buried in that old granary burial ground.
And then
it's really amazing to think that the five victims of the Boston Massacre are buried in the old Granary Burial Ground.
And I think that's kind of amazing because that's a moment.
I write in my book after the Boston Massacre how Samuel Adams stages this huge funeral and funeral procession that ends at the Granary Burial Ground.
and you're there and it all happened right there.
It's so amazing.
We walked around Beacon Hill right where there's the statehouse,
which is designed by Bullfinch, I guess, in the 19th century.
But right there, John Hancock had his mansion, right?
So you're standing there.
He's thinking it all happened right here.
There was a huge, there's something I write about after the Stamp Act was repealed.
They had a huge event on the Boston Common.
So it's just the history is just everywhere.
We took our family there a couple of years ago, maybe two years ago.
I hadn't been since college days.
And I will say maybe it was in my imagination, but I feel like I felt something kind of in the air there in that city that kind of made me want to fight somebody.
There's something still like it's in the DNA of the, I don't know if it's still in the harbor with the tea infused.
rebellion there, but there's something still in the air there in Boston where you kind of want to,
you kind of want to take it to somebody.
Well, actually, and you know, you, I almost forgot. So eventually the British are chased out of Boston
and they, there's huge celebrations. This is now 1776 in March of 1776. And George Washington
says on May 17th, or Congress says, we're going to have a day of fasting and prayer and
Thanksgiving to God. And this May 17th, which is four days from now, four days or five days,
whatever it is, I am speaking on the National Mall, rededicating the nation to God.
The day before, I'm speaking at a Sean Foyt event. You can go online. And then on May 17th,
I am speaking, like, I think right after the president or like shortly after, kind of amazing.
If you're not aware, May 17th, it's a big event on the mall. Lots of folks are going.
I recommend it. It's kind of a big deal to rededicate the nation to God. It's a sacred thing. Anyway,
we'll leave it there. We'll be right back.
Hey there, folks. I've been saying that 2026 must be the year of accountability, whether talking
about government spending or the way we steward our own families, we have a moral duty to seek
the truth. But let's be honest, in the world of Medicare, truth is often the first casualty.
Seniors, like my 91-year-old mom, are bombarded with mailers and pushy phone.
calls that feel more like propaganda than helpful guidance. This is why I value my partners at

honest answers you deserve. Hey, folks, welcome back. I'm in Lexington, Massachusetts, at a
beautiful inn. We're doing this Socrates and the city retreat. And it's so wonderful.
You know, it's a gathering of friends, old friends, new friends.
Hey, Eric, I didn't know this was happening theoretically.
I feel like I missed out.
Is there, you know, should I feel bad for missing out?
Or are there other things like this that I can-
Yes, yes, you should feel very, very bad.
But the good news is there's all kinds of other events to look forward to in case you're in.
Actually, June, well, I mentioned May 17th, which I can't believe is in four days.
I'm speaking on the mall in Washington, D.C.
That's a special event.
I'm tomorrow flying to Philly to tape Socrates in the city a couple of interviews in Philadelphia tomorrow, or Friday.
Then I go to Washington, D.C.
There's an event with Sean Foyt on May 16th.
There's an event on May 17th on the National Mall.
That's a big one.
We're rededicating the nation to the Lord.
I see it as a sacred moment, not just.
just some little thing. It's a big deal. It's significant. It's significant. So I have the privilege
of speaking at that. I should mention, I don't think I'd mentioned it much, if ever, on June 2nd,
we're doing a special Socrates in the city event in New York City. There's still tickets left.
It's going to be a lot of fun. I'm really looking for it. Okay. Well, June 2nd, we are having the
official kickoff event for my book, American Revolution, titled Revolution. And if you can
get to New York or if you know somebody in New York, these are really special events. We are just
excited. I am very excited about this. I'm getting more and more excited about the book as the launch
approaches. But that is, it's an extraordinary event. Anybody who comes gets a hardcover copy of the book
if you can make it to New York on that date. And if you know somebody in New York, please tell you
New York friends. I just feel like these are really wonderful celebratory events. And especially,
I feel this book, you know, ends up meaning a lot to me. I guess I love America and I'm glad that
I get to tell the story of the birth of the greatest nation, the history of the world. And I'm
excited people are going to be reading about it because I think it's very important that we know
this history. I think if we don't know the history, the true history, the true history,
the history that connects us to God, that says our liberties are a gift from God,
that God has given those liberties to us as a gift.
And we need to understand what that is and how are we to live our lives with these liberties?
First of all, we're to live our lives and thanksgiving to God.
That's all the founders understood that.
I'm going to be talking about that at some length on June 2nd at Socrates in the city event.
I'm going to be traveling around a lot.
I'll be in Albuquerque, May 24th, speaking in Albuquerque at Skip Heitzig's Church.
I'm going to be probably speaking at King's Church in New York at some point soon.
But a lot of traveling, if you go to my website, Ericmataxis.com, you can see all the details of where I'm going to be.
But I'm going to be in a lot of different places.
want to invite me, you can do that by going to
ericmetaxis.com. But I have this crazy idea. I want to speak in all 50
states in this next year to celebrate the super centennial
250th. So you can reach me at
ericmataxis.com. You can email us
in case you want to invite me or look into that. I should also say, Chris,
that at the end of July,
we are doing a Socrates in the city retreat in
Oxford, England. We did one there. Is it two summers ago? Yes. Two summers ago. And it was
really delightful. John Lennox is going to be one of my guests at Socrates in the city in Oxford,
England. If you want to go to England at the end of July and beginning of August,
these retreats are so wonderful. You get to spend a kind of time with friends that you don't normally,
You know, it's just, it's several days of events and things.
I'll be interviewing a lot of different people.
And so I just want to encourage you go to my website,
ericmettaxas.com.
There's a lot of information there.
If you want to go to Socrates in the city event,
you can go to Socrates in the city.com.
But to watch my Socrates and City interviews,
you can go to Socratesin the city.com as well.
And sign up and we'll send you the interviews when they come out.
Yeah, and we should also mention before we go, a big thank you to everybody that's participated in the CSI campaign for May. We're getting lots of people that are joining. So thank you for that. You can also go to the website, $250, freeze a slave. Click on the banner at MTAXIS.
Oh, please. Please go to EricMetaxis.com. And, yeah, if we haven't reminded you enough, we're reminding you now, please join us. Ericmataxis.com. It's all there, but we'd be delighted for you to join us.
and it's a noble, glorious thing. Thank you.
Hey there, folks. I'm coming to you from an undisclosed location that is making me look like
Trey Gowdy. I don't understand what is happening here. My hair is doing something weird,
but here's the good news. It's not about me. The reason I'm here right now is because I have
to, the honor of speaking, you know we have a gold sponsor on this program. It's Genesis
gold. And I was wondering, could we get on the, you know,
spokesperson, the guy behind Genesis Gold, and his name is Bill Armour, and we got him. Bill,
welcome back. Thanks for having me so much, Eric. Great to be here. Great to talk to people about
what's going on in the world, because there's a lot to talk about. Well, where do we start? I mean,
you know, if I want to tell people up front, please go to Metaxusgold IRA.com. If you've got
questions, Metaxusold IRA.com, that's Genesis Gold. But yeah, Phyllisin, help us
us understand where things are right now with the economy, if you would, Bill? Yeah, happy to.
You know, I'll start by saying, as you mentioned, if you go to that, the link, the URL that
Eric just mentioned, you're going to get a free guide. It's going to cover a lot of what I'm talking
about as well as much, much more, so you can read it yourself. But a quick synopsis of what we're seeing,
and I think people are feeling us, is inflation is out of control. And it's been bad for a while,
but the problem is not getting better. So April CPI Super Price Index came back, 3.8% year over
years 3.5% 3.3% the year before. So we're seeing it continue to rise. It's not going away.
Right now it's double the Fed's target. They want that at, you know, one, one and a half percent.
So it's still far, far above that target. We're seeing month over month increases. And a lot of that,
of course, we can point to a lot of that currently with energy with what's going on in Iran. That's
can obviously move to gas, energy, which then gets passed down to businesses. So we're seeing
that inflation stay high. And the dollar, you know, really what inflation means when we talk about that
is we mean that your dollar is becoming worth less, right? Day over day, month over month.
And that's what people are experiencing. So, you know, how does that impact you? Well,
your savings are diminishing, right? And that's really the reason here when we talk about tanguals,
and we talk about gold and silver, that people would move to something like golden silver,
is that it gives you a sort of protection from that amorphous force that is inflation, $39 trillion
in national debt.
One statistic I always like to point out is that we spend more servicing our national debt,
not paying it back.
Just the interest on that is greater than we spend on our entire military budget year over
year.
So when you see numbers like these, you see inflation, you see the national debt climbing,
the picture that it paints is an unsolvable one.
And if the monetary system is an unsolvable issue, what do you do about that?
Well, the answer is don't play in the same sandbox, right?
Move somewhere else, and that's where gold and silver provides that opportunity to insulate yourself away from a lot of the danger that we're seeing.
Well, it's fascinating to me.
I mean, there was a time when our dollars were backed by gold.
That's not the case.
So if you want to be backed by gold, you have to actually get gold or silver.
Do something along those lines.
And that's why we have you guys as sponsors on the program because I want people to know where they can go that I trust personally.
So the URL again, folks, if you want a lot more information than we can give you in a short segment, you go to Metaxusgoldira.com.
Metaxusgold ira.com. But Bill, talk more about, you know, where you see things going, because
I'm fascinated by where we are right now. Yeah, absolutely. Well, you know, it's funny because,
you know, in order to talk about where we're going, we can talk about where we've been.
And I always, you know, like to mention, because people don't really think of this, since we left the
gold standard in 1971, gold has outperformed not just, you know, bonds or
this for that, but outperformed the Dow, right? I mean, people think about stocks as being this
volatile thing, but yeah, produces great returns. Gold has outperformed the Dow by two to one. So for
every dollar you've had in the Dow, if you've had it in gold, since we left the gold standard,
you've made $2. And we find our, I know, a lot of people are very surprised by it. You wouldn't
think about that because gold is kind of a tortoise and maybe the market often is the hair.
You know, it jumps around and people talk about right now we're in kind of the everything bubble,
where, you know, stocks, bonds, housing, everything is so high.
But gold kind of just, the reason that gold outperforms is because it doesn't often have
those massive downturns that you see in the market where people see, you know, 30, 40, 50 percent
of their savings erased, you know, over the course of a couple months.
So it continues to grow.
It's kind of a safe haven asset.
But as far as where we are now, as gold sits at the $47, $4,800 range, which, you know,
is just a wild thing to say because I remember, you know, gold being, you know,
$6, $7,800, and now we're at $4,800. It just continues to climb. And a lot of people think that
there's no stopping us, that we're going to see gold at the anywhere from $5,000 to $6,000 range in the
next 12 months, you know, perhaps even greater. Obviously, there's a lot of things that could drive
it beyond that. You know, even silver today is getting just shy of $90. I remember when it was,
you know, $10, $12, $15. So we're seeing this, this massive boon in metals. And a lot of people
expect that to continue. On the other side of that,
So there's real concerns about what we see in the market.
A lot of people are experiencing in daily lives, they say, yeah, the S&P has been up over the last
five, 10 years, but does that feel right?
Does the economy feel better?
Is that what you're experiencing?
Or is this, you know, the same kind of things we saw in 2000, except maybe with AI or 2001
where we saw dot-com crash?
We're seeing almost 95 to 98% of all capital expenditure.
That's what companies spend their money on, at least major companies, is going into.
to AI infrastructure. So they're betting and betting heavily that this works out. But it doesn't always
work out as it did in 2000. Slapping at WWW dot on a company didn't make it profitable, didn't
create money out of thin air. And if these bets don't turn out, you're going to see a real
repeat of that 2001 market calamity. So if you can find a way to grow your savings, especially if
you're in the latter half of life, twilight years and you want to protect and preserve, if you can
find a way to do that and do that safely as opposed to taking on a tremendous amount of risk,
it's an incredibly prudent thing to do. Well, Bill, thank you, folks. You know that we only work
with people we trust and we only recommend people we trust. So Genesis Gold, you can find them
at metaxis gold IRA.com. I recommend you go there, metaxis gold IRA.com. Bill, thank you so
much. Thanks for having me, Eric.
Hey there, folks. Welcome back. Right now, I have as my guest, someone who's been on the program
before, his name, they say, is Gerson Moreno Riano. I might be getting that right. He is the
president of Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I have the honor of being
affiliated with them as a distinguished presidential fellow. Jerson, welcome back. Thank you, Eric. It's great
to be back.
you're an encouragement to me cornerstone's an encouragement to me what you guys are doing um
and the reason i say that if people are tuning in they don't know you i mean you get it you
understand that we are fighting against you know uh marxist communism that has infiltrated
education k through 12 at this point certainly most universities including most quote unquote
Christian universities.
The fact that you get that
and that Cornerstone gets, that is a big deal.
This is not a commercial for Cornerstone,
but folks, you know me, I'm a straight shooter
and I'm grieved that there's a tiny handful
of colleges and universities in America
that I can strongly recommend,
but I had better recommend them
and better let you know about them.
So, Jesson, just thanks for what you're doing
at Cornerstone, and where do we begin on this subject?
Yeah, thank you, Eric.
You know, my parents and I, we immigrated to the U.S. 45 years ago,
literally weeks before Ronald Reagan came into office.
And I remember in January of 1981 watching the inauguration TV is a nine-year-old kid.
And my father looking at me and saying, watch that.
You're watching history be made.
And I remember growing up during the Reagan era as a young kid and a teenager
and just being so aware of the evil empire, right?
The evils of communism, the Iron Curtain,
and these terrible things that happened,
you know, very new in America
and realizing as a child, communism is evil.
It destroys human life, human beings, human nature
tries to release, destroy societies,
there's something found out of evil about it.
And as a high school student fighting against it,
I wrote my very first published article
was a freshman in high school
writing against the evils of communism.
Okay. Now, 45 years later, I'm absolutely shocked at how a third of Americans, at least surveys, say so, are willing to feel the warm embrace of socialism, communism, so they say. And, you know, high school students, college students marching to become a communist revolutionary, down with the academy, down with America. And it seems like we are, I don't think it is, it seems like we're asleep at the wheel.
and no one sees what's coming ahead.
And so as a college president, I'm deeply concerned.
We educate the future citizens, leaders of America and our university at Karser in Grand Rapids.
And I'm realizing that people are asleep at the wheel or they're afraid to say anything.
Or they don't know what to say.
Or somehow maybe they think, you know, it's not a evil thing, a moral evil here.
It's just a difference of opinion.
And I can't, it's such a problem we have.
Is it terrifying, terrifying future?
lest we in our churches that our people jump in, all hands in, and work and fight against us.
Well, listen, you know, true confessions, I was one of those people.
I was on the fence.
Really, it wasn't until 2016 that I understood what we're dealing with.
And I think a lot of people in the Christian world, they're still on the fence.
They still think it's a safe place.
They think that they get a kind of religious carve out.
They can be apolitical or to be political is somehow to depart from the pure gospel,
which parentheses is a lie from the pit of hell folks.
That's a lie.
But it is one of the most popular lies out there.
And that's why I wrote my book letter to the American church.
I said, this is not true.
I believed it.
But I now know we can no longer believe this.
This is wicked.
But so many in the Christian world, they seem to think,
I mean, I'm just reading a book.
It's going to come out in a few months by Erwin Lutzer.
And he talks about Marx and Dwight Moody,
who was the great revivalist in Chicago in the 19th century,
living at the same time as Karl Marx.
And, you know, you understand where the appeal of Marxism comes from.
People say, well, the poor are being disenfranchised.
And all of that is true.
The poor are being crushed by elites.
You know, the Tsarist Russia was not good to the peasant,
peasants. All of this is true, folks. And in England, when Marx was speaking about the evils of the system,
in many ways he was right. The problem is his solution was no solution. And this is what we have to say.
So if somebody has this bleeding heart and they say, well, you know, I don't like what I see and things are
not good, we would agree. Yes, things are bad. We need to make things better. So it's not that we don't
care. But the solution is wrong. And I think that's the thing is because you, Gerson, grew up,
with parents who knew the evil of communism. I grew up with parents that knew the evil of communism.
You know that when they talk about all there are all these problems and stuff, you know,
that is not the answer. That answer is worse than the problem. But there are many Americans.
They're very naive about this. That's to me the issue. And they have a good heart. And they want to
help the poor, and they, you know, there's just enough truth in the larger lie in the narrative.
There's just enough truth to suck them in. And that's basically what we're dealing with.
Yeah. And I think Eric to add to that is naive it to native tan, a part of many Americans in church
folks, but also this sort of, you know, the argument that we're not sure that evils exist
anymore. Like, everything's gray, right? So that socialism kind of was just a shade of gray and
capitalism may be a little darker shade than gray, but it's just preferences and policy
arguments and there's no hard lines here. And that's another lie from hell. I mean, there are clear
lines from scripture, clear lies about what it means to be a human being, clear lies about the
beauty of human flourishing, liberty and freedom that communism not just rejects, wants to
destroy, it wants to destroy those who believe and hold onto those things, right? And the fact that
we're somehow arguing that, what's just a preference, you know, you hold on to it because you're elite
or you're this color of skin or you this much, no, there's some fundamental truths here.
that are being rejected.
And no one seems to know or wants to talk or argue,
debate these things because we need to be nice to one another.
We can be nice to each other,
but we've got to take this very seriously.
Or, you know, this whole May Day thing that just happened,
the push, you know, you look at,
I call it the educated assassins out there
who are literally looking at others
than saying, you need to be destroyed.
You should not speak what you believe
because you're fundamentally flawed,
so we need to kill you and eliminate you.
This is at the very core,
an evil, wicked Marxist, communist
where you destroy and eliminate your opponents.
And our country continues to head this way.
And the great concern,
our educational institutions have been committed
in many ways to discuss of ideas
for a long, long time.
And we need to continue,
not just to talk about it,
but to be involved at every level
to push against us and offer the truth.
The truth will set us free.
Well, that's the point is that
everyone needs to be a warrior for the truth,
not just say, well, I believe it, I guess.
God calls us to be warriors for the truth,
otherwise evil wins.
And I think a lot of people think,
well, I don't want to get my hands dirty.
I don't want to be a warrior, you know.
God created us to be warriors.
It's not like extra credit.
This is why we're here.
There is truth.
There is good.
There is evil.
There are lies.
We have to get involved.
And again,
there's so many people that they're kind of
checked out and they don't really, I think ultimately they, they can't care. It's too disturbing.
And so they just look away and they want to live their little happy lives. But I mean, everything at
this point reminds me of the story of the American Revolution just because I finished writing
the book. But it was exactly the same then. You had the British willing to do anything to win.
They didn't have rules like, you know, we're going to abide by certain rules. They would bayonet and
murder prisoners, surrendering prisoners. They, they think,
thought, well, we don't care. We're not going to play by your fussy rules. Whereas Washington
and others were very strict and said, we will obey God in how we fight. We will not stoop to do
anything to win. And because we will not stoop to do anything to win, because we want to honor
God and how we fight, God will give us the victory. And that ended up being true. Whereas the
British, just like the Marxists today, they didn't care about what God.
God thinks it was utterly irrelevant to them. They simply wanted to win to crush their enemies.
And that's to me part of the tell of what's happening today is that the left in the world,
the Marxists, they don't play by the rules. They don't care about the rules. They want to win.
They will do anything they can. And unless you understand what you're dealing with, unless we
understand that's who we're dealing with, people who will do anything, say anything,
happy to lie if they can promote their narrative.
That's part of what we're,
we have to understand the nature of evil.
Absolutely.
And the fact that so many people now,
Christians themselves are fuzzy and evil,
honestly,
and our church and our pastors,
that's what's disconcerting to me.
So I'm grateful to be the university
will really, as you mentioned,
are educating our students
in a very, very different direction
with a strong Christian role view at the core,
speaking about America's founding principles.
But I'll tell you, Eric,
as I travel throughout,
West Michigan throughout the country.
You know, the church is in trouble.
You've been saying this for price sometime, but there are a lot of individuals
retreating, staying home, sort of hanging out with their own class and tribes, not getting
involved.
When I came to West Michigan, a number of folks told me, you're coming to the land of dormant
evangelicals.
That was the word that was used.
And not to myself, we have to wake them up.
And so, of course, I've been working very hard to do that.
It's not been easy, but let's wake up.
Let's get involved.
Let's educate our future leaders.
to be true Christian influences who are involved,
not just lifestyle-wise,
by what we proclaim and what we do and how we think.
It's absolutely vital unless one day we wake up
and these things we treasure,
not just are threatened but are gone.
So I think it's an urgent call, an urgent call.
We'll be right back, folks. Don't go away.
Hi, everyone.
If you were injured in an accident, listen up.
We have legal professionals standing by
to answer your questions.
You can find out if you have
a case and how much it's potentially worth. I'm Gina Bellich, along with Super Bowl champ and two-time
pro-bowler Vernon Davis. So Vernon, tell everyone watching who should call right now. Well, Gina,
if you or someone you know were injured in an accident that was not your fault, give us a call right now.
You can find out if you have a case and how much money is potentially worth. Thanks, Vernon. You know,
the phones have really been busy. So what kind of calls have we been getting? We're getting calls
about all types of accidents, from car accidents to slipping falls and so many others.
So if you were injured in an accident, don't go at it alone.
Call for a free case review and find out how much your case is potentially worth.
Thanks, Vernon.
You heard the man.
Call now to find out how much money you qualify for.
Welcome back, folks.
I want to remind you we're doing a campaign with CSI.
We're doing it right now.
It's a privilege.
We get to free slaves in Sudan.
It's almost inconceivable, but this is a glorious, noble thing.
Please get involved.
Go to ericmetaxis.com.
I want everyone to do something, everyone who listens to this program.
Please think of it as a duty to do something.
Go to ericmetaxis.com.
You'll see the banner.
Please participate.
You'll feel better.
It's a glorious thing.
I'm talking to Dr. Gerson Moreno Riano, Rianio,
who is the president of Cornerstone,
university and Gerson, we were just talking about how many people think, well, it's not my fight.
And it really does remind me of everything, you know, is going to remind me of my book on
the Revolution or the story of the Revolution, but how there were many in the Revolution,
they didn't get involved until it bit them.
All through New Jersey, for example, as the British troops were abusive of the civilians,
raping, pillaging, stealing, and on and on and on and on.
That woke up many of the civilians who's been sitting on the fence.
He's like, well, you know, what we just want to support the king.
We don't want any trouble.
It forced them to join the Patriot cause.
That reminds me of, you know, 50 years ago, somebody coined the phrase of, you know,
that some of these liberals who had become conservative, they said they were mugged by reality.
In other words, when something happens to you, finally you wake up.
And I think that's part of the equation right now is that there are people finally seeing the evilness of evil.
It's biting them and they're finally waking up.
So there is some of that happening that the policies of the Biden administration and of the left have been so successful that finally people who are like, well, I don't care.
Suddenly they're seeing the horror of it, whatever it is, whether it's crime.
or anything.
So that's part of this war that we're in right now,
that people are continuing to wake up.
Praise God.
Last week I spoke to a group of students,
a presence fellow.
So it was sort of our last meeting of the year, Eric,
and we met with them.
I spoke with them.
And I had them read part of Rachel Weaver's ideas have consequences.
To talk about how ideas are not just sort of neutral things,
they're real significant, like consequences to what you believe and what you live out.
and had a great profound conversation with the students.
Afterwards, a young lady came up to me and said to me,
Dr. Reno, thank you for speaking to us about this.
She said just this past weekend,
we talked, my parents, and I had this conversation
given the assassination attempt on President Trump.
And my parents were so scared that this has happened
and what are we supposed to do
and how do we think and how do we act?
And to your point, I think these things are getting closer
and closer and closer to home.
And individuals are waking up
in realizing we have to do something, what do we do?
I'm grateful that we're here to educate our students,
but I'll tell you, I'm concerned as I travel throughout the country
in churches and speak to various congregations or groups of people,
how many are still sort of, you know, in the back row, as we're just watching.
Someone don't know what to do and how to do it.
And so I think that what you're doing, what we're doing, of course, is absolutely vital.
But I'm sensing a move and yell people today,
a restlessness for what do we do and how do we live.
And unless we step there in and really provide
the beauty of the Christian review and truth, beauty, and goodness
and demonstrate the real beautiful consequences of those things,
we're going to be in a terrible shape.
Because the left and the internet sphere out there
is certainly producing a lot of junk that these students have access to
and very few seem to be pushing against in our pulpits, in our homes.
So it's a wake-up call for our parents.
Wake-up call was just an interview
and I was asked about the role of parents.
Parents had to wake up.
You just can't drop up your kids at school.
You just came to drop them off at church
and leave them there for the experts to educate them.
You have to get involved.
You have to find out what's being done, what's being taught,
who is, what are the outcomes?
It's hard as challenging.
But if we don't do it, if parents don't do it, we're in trouble.
Well, I mean, part of this, this is, you know,
my mantra for the last several years.
how many people do I know who are listening to us right now
who are going to a church that is not lifting a finger
on any of these issues?
And so I say to you, folks,
if you're going to a church that is sort of saying,
well, well, we just preach the Bible.
We just, first of all, that's a lie.
That is a lie.
If you are not talking about courage and truth
and the battle, the spiritual battle that we're in
and the evils of godless communism,
if you're not talking about that,
you're not preaching the Bible.
You're pretending to preach the Bible or maybe you're lying to yourself that you're actually preaching the Bible, but you're not.
But how many people listening to this program are involved with churches that do not talk about this kind of stuff?
And so, folks, I want to say to you, you're guilty.
You're tithing God's money to a church that says, we're going to sit on the fence.
The devil owns the fence.
You're subsidizing the fence, which the devil owns.
We'll be right back.

Welcome back, folks. I continue my conversation with Dr. Gerson Moreno Riano, the president of Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids.
But before we continue that, just a reminder again, to please go to my website, Ericantaxis.com, support CSI.
Christian Solidarity International. We're doing a campaign now to free slaves in Sudan. We do this once or twice a year.
It's a glorious opportunity to do something that is an unmitigated good, a glorious thing because of CSI.
We're actually able to do this.
This is not fake.
This is not, this is real.
So I want to exhort you.
Do not miss it.
I want everybody who listens to this program.
Think of it as a duty to do something.
What you do is between you and the Lord, but do something.
Go to Ericmontaccess.com.
It's a glorious opportunity that we have to express our faith.
in reality.
So, Gerson, we're talking about
how many people who call themselves Christians
they sit on the fence.
They still feel like it's okay
to go to a church that is not taking positions
on this stuff.
And I can't do that anymore.
My conscience will let me go to a church
that refuses to talk about this stuff
as though it's not an issue.
Indeed. I'll tell you about things biting you,
as you mentioned before, Eric.
Here in Michigan, for example,
the state legislature is once again considering this happened a couple years ago that all higher education funding if a university any university is to receive any kind of federal or state funding they have to subscribe to document that LGBT plus policy that the board approves and supports the whole university must approve and support all right to receive state level funding I should say this happened several years ago and they've brought it back in again they will have a significant consequence on any
university that's Christian or religious that receive any kind of state funding for financial
aid, any kind of tuition grants or that the state would give. That's a sign, you talk about biting
you. Imagine that kind of legislation if it's past, the effect they will have. We're already
watching it very carefully. Imagine what if this extends to churches in various areas, right? Or to
Christian schools, K-12. I mean, these are a class of things that many are just either completely
ignorant of or just don't do anything about or think it will never happen. There are concerted efforts,
concerted effort to shut down churches, Christian universities, Christian K-12 schools, and we've got to
wake up. I say to now more urgent than ever. I told this to our students, you have to be involved
as young men and women, future Christian leaders, be involved. Imagine we're at a country now
where it's okay to receive abortion pills via mail.
All of a sudden, it's an okay thing to do in the privacy of your home.
This is a destructive time in our nation's history, especially we celebrate the 250.
I just want to urge all of your listeners and Christians,
let's wake up, let's get involved in prayerfully, but actively and boldly and courageously.
The time is now.
Well, I do think that this year, which, you know, some of us are calling the
supercentennial, that this is a Jubilee year, that there things are happening. It is like 1776.
Things are happening. We're in a war between good and evil. And there are many people who realize
now is the time. It's an historic moment. I don't want to be caught on the sidelines. And it is my hope
that everybody who watches this program will say, I want to do something. I don't want to sit
on the sidelines. I don't want to support a church that refuses to get into the fight. And the thing
Gerson, that I think, too, is that if you are part of an organization, a church, a community that is
in this war, it encourages you. It's just a beautiful thing. But there's so many people that say,
well, we've always gone to this church. God is a judge, folks. We are in a war right now. It's an
existential crisis. You don't get to sit on the sidelines. You don't get to sit on the fence.
It is God's will that you get involved somehow.
And the least you can do is stop giving God's money to a church that refuses to get involved.
And many of you who are watching right now, you're doing that.
And I guess, you know, read my small book, Letter to the American Church,
if you want proof of what I'm talking about or you can share it with your pastor.
Because this, the hour is late.
Just on, I'll give you the last word.
This is important stuff.
Thank you, Eric.
This is why Corristor, we're so committed to the Christian.
review into also speaking of its beauty, its importance, but also the beauty and greatness of America
and the wisdom of the American experience to educate our students for the future, less we forget
the great biblical principles, the great founding of our country, and how exceptional it is.
So we're committed at Correstone. We're grateful to all the students who are coming,
and we continue to educate them in this direction for God's honor and glory for the benefit of our
country, Eric. Well, yes, and that's why I keep raving about Cornerstone. This stuff is vital, folks.
It's vital.
John Adams said how vital it is that universities and schools teach these things that if you're not teaching this, people are missing everything.
All right.
Your song, God bless you, my friend.
Thanks for coming on.
Like was Eric.
Blessings to you.
See you soon.
