Hey, folks, welcome to the program.
this is the Eric Metaxis show.
If this is not what you wanted to tune into,
you just turn this off and find whatever it was you wanted to watch.
But it is that.
It is the Eric Metaxis show.
The good news is it's not mainly about me.
I have guests on.
And my guest today is my friend Larry Taunton.
Larry, welcome back.
How are you, brother?
Good to see you.
Well, it's good to see you.
And I want to talk to you about anything.
We're going to air this sometime in the middle of the week.
We're recording early because I'm traveling.
But I wanted to, so I want to talk to about anything that's in the news,
but I definitely want to get to what is Islam.
The more I look into Islam, I've ignored it assiduously for most of my life,
but it becomes difficult to ignore.
it strikes me as a wicked, false, harmful, pernicious creed that we must warn the world against
and stop pretending that it's one of the world's, it's one of the great world religions.
I don't even know what that term means.
That's an insane concept.
But you recently spoke about this.
You did a video on it.
It's gotten, I think, as of today, something like 3 million views.
Shall we start there?
or is there anything in the news that you feel you want to comment on first?
No, I'm more than happy to start there.
Eric, that was a talk that I gave to the Redstone Club.
And the Redstone Club is made up of business leaders, captains of industry,
this sort of individual.
And I've spoken to them before.
And interestingly enough, Lori has told me,
you give these talks and you never film them.
You never film anything.
You go and speak somewhere and don't film it.
So on this occasion, I told my tech guy where I was going to be,
and we'd better film it, or my wife is going to get on me about that.
And since I was speaking there on 9-11,
I mean, they gave me the scope to speak on what I would like to speak on,
but given the date just was coincident, by coincidence,
was September 11, I decided to give a talk that I titled,
The Cross and the Quran, or the Quran and the Cross.
I forget which came first.
But I wanted to really address these leaders in a very bare-knuckled kind of way, Eric, to help people understand what Islam is.
And I'm sure you're familiar with the, I think of Spilberg, you did it, the somewhat of a documentary called the Pacific.
It was his Pacific, World War II Pacific equivalents of a band of brothers, which of course was the war in Europe.
And it's based on a book by a guy from Alabama named E.B. Sledge. E.B. Sledge is now dead, but he was a professor emeritus at a private liberal arts college called Montevallo.
And his memoir that that documentary series is based on is called With the Old Breed. He got drunk with some friends in.
say,
1942,
drove over to Atlanta,
they're all punching
on each other
and giggling,
and they join
the Marine Corps.
And as they're
going through the
line, getting,
you know,
handed their uniform
and their boots
and so on,
they come down
to this grizzled
old veteran,
you know,
who's back from the Pacific.
And he hands
them dog tags.
And again,
they're drunk
and think all of this
is comedic.
And they look at it
and they say,
what is this?
And the guy
says,
well, son,
that's so when
you get blown to pieces on some Godforsaken rock in the Pacific, we can identify your remains.
And Sledge says it was in that moment that he realized this wasn't a game. This wasn't funny.
And sometimes, Eric, I use that little anecdote because I am, as you know, frequently in the third world.
I have seen up close how Islam works, not just in Africa in the Middle East, but also in Europe.
I have, the FBI tells me that I was very likely swatted by Egyptian state security,
likely inspired by the Muslim Brotherhood.
I've had my life threatened by that religion.
I've reported on it in arguably the most dangerous country in the world, Nigeria,
where Christians are being absolutely slaughtered.
And sometimes I feel like, Eric, that grizzled old veteran who's coming back from, say,
Okinawa or Iwojima or Taraa,
And I'm trying to find the words to explain to people who think that what I'm telling them can't be true.
That this religion really isn't about rape and slaughter, that it really isn't about Lyme, that it really isn't, as historian Andrew Hussey puts it, more like an ideology of warfare.
that I've always trying, I'm always that guy who finds myself trying to relate a harsh
reality that people don't want to believe. And I'm reminded of something that Malcolm
Muggeridge, someone who I'm sure you're very familiar with and appreciate as I have,
said when he was, he was talking about the, um, uh, the Stalinist state engineered famine of
Ukraine and how when he reported on it that people,
told him he was lying. Most notably Walter Durante, who won inexplicably a Pulitzer Prize for lying.
But Muggeridge was telling people the truth that millions were dying in Ukraine. And he was denounced.
And he said this. He said, people believe lies, not because they are plausibly told, but because they want to believe them.
And when it comes to Islam, a lot of people want to believe that what I'm telling them, what others who have experienced it are telling them, our friend, you had on your show, Juan Zimbaz, the Nigerian bishop, they don't want to believe it because it frightens them.
And I'm not telling them that to frighten them.
I'm telling them that because they must resist it while they can.
well um there's something of course about the modern day west uh americans in particular that
we want to come across as tolerant we want to come across what we buy into a lot of lies in the
name of tolerance we say well you know all people are the same isn't that what the bible says
that all well yeah it says god created us equal but that doesn't mean that because there is satanic
evil in the world that broken fallen human beings do not something
sometimes embrace that evil and embrace evil ideologies and do unbelievably wicked, horrifying things.
You have to face that, ladies and gentlemen.
We did it in the Holocaust.
We murdered millions.
This is going on around the world today.
You have to face it.
But again, the sophisticates, they pretend that, well, that's not true today.
Or if you want to believe it, it says more about you than it says about, you know, the people you're criticizing.
Unfortunately, this is nonsense, and unfortunately, there is real evil in the world.
And unfortunately, Islamists, people who are devotees of the Muslim faith, are often guilty of things that they beggar belief.
We really truly don't want to think that these things are true.
But the more I look into it, the more I think we have to confront it.
And so I'm thrilled that you gave this talk and that people can watch it.
But let's talk about it right now, you know, and then we can direct people to that, to the video.
We make Chevrolet vehicles, but what you do with them makes them so much more.
You make them mobile offices, your kids' personal taxi, a concert shuttle, your hockey equipment locker, your recording studio.
We make a Chevrolet, but you make it a Chevy.
Discover yours at Chevrolet.ca.
Eric, let me say this very quickly that will help people before we get to the specifics of that talk.
And I want to enlist your aid in this.
I don't know if I sent you a copy of this book or not, but if I didn't, I was remiss in not doing so.
People ask me all the time for book recommendations as I'm sure they do you.
And on the topic of Islam, I'm asked that a lot.
and I finally decided that I would do kind of a survey of the existing literature to find what I thought was really the best out there.
And I went through a number of books that are, some of which have been bestsellers on the topic, others which have been written by academics, by scholars on the topic.
And on almost every instance, Eric, I would find myself coming back, coming away thinking,
this doesn't quite capture it, meaning the leftists, even the honest ones, the ones who are
endeavoring to be honest in reporting on Islam, they're so secularly minded, they can't penetrate
the ideology. And so they interpret it only in political terms. And thus they're missing
the way the religion operates, you know, on the ground, what it looks like on the ground.
So they're just kind of looking at it from charts and maps and statistics.
I finally read Aurora Mardaghanian's book called Ravished Armenia.
Now, this book was published in 1916, Ravished Armenia, Aurora Mardaghanian.
It's $7.99 on Amazon.
on this particular group that we're talking about
that I speak to, those who will watch the video
on my channel on Larry Taunton on YouTube or on X.
A lot of people have asked me,
we see you at the end recommending a book to them.
Well, that's the book that I'm holding up
and telling them to read.
And it was so important to me that they read it
that I brought more than 100 copies to hand out to these men.
And once you read it, please give it to somebody else.
It's $7.99 on Amazon.
I had a donor who said, I will buy them, Larry, so you can hand them out.
Now, you may say, well, it's 100 years ago.
It is exactly the way Islam operates today.
And Aurora Mardagian, she was an Armenian Christian, one of a couple of million who were slaughtered and raped and so forth.
And this is a woman who was talking about the slaughter of her family, her being taken into sex slavery and sold in markets all over, you know,
modern day, you know, Asia Minor, Turkey.
And that's exactly what's happening today.
You can go on an app that's on your Android or on your Apple store that's called
4, the number 4 for sale, S-A-L-E, the Arabic version of that app, women are being sold on there.
Now, they're being presented as domestics.
They're mostly West African women who are being sold all over the Middle East, North Africa, and now into Europe as domestics, meaning the slave markets are alive and well.
Slavery, human trafficking is bigger than it has ever been.
And it dwarfs the slave trade that Wilberforce, you know, who you've written about, spoke against and campaigned against.
and brought to an end in Britain, it's way bigger than that.
And that's because Muslims, it is a part of their religion.
And it's so important that people know this.
People say, well, Christians did things like the Crusades and the Salem Witch Trials.
Well, first of all, I won't apologize for the Crusades because the Crusades came, you know,
almost 400 years after the invasion of Europe.
So chronology matters.
But anytime a Christian, and I'm aware of no instance.
instance where this has been done, but it probably has somewhere. If a guy said he was a Christian
and was going to suicide bomb a mall or something like that, well, we can very easily say,
well, whatever he says he is, that's contrary to the teachings of Jesus Christ. Jesus in
John chapter 16, verse 2 says, warns, verses 2 and 3, there will be people who will kill,
kill you and say they're doing it for God, for me. So we know that they're lying.
when they say that because it's contrary to the teachings of Jesus.
But when a Muslim does it, it is perfectly consistent with the religion.
And Mardiagnan, I thought that this really resonated with a knowing what I know about
the Rotherham sex scandal, 250,000 British white girls.
And that's key because they're being fair game by Islam,
who were trafficked and raped by Muslim rape gangs in the UK and almost nothing done about it.
those girls in Britain often say that when they were being raped by these Muslims, they were quoting from the Quran.
And Aurora Mardiagnan in 1916 tells the same story that this is what was done, meaning I want you to read Aurora Mardiagnan.
I want you to help me, Eric, in recommending that book to people over, and I don't know who's making money off the sale off of them, but good for them.
because that book, which is about, I don't know, maybe 90 pages, you will blow through it very quickly,
but it will give you a real look at what Islam actually is.
And forgive me for going on, but let me add this.
When our mutual friend, Lawrence Fox, came to my home to prepare to debate at the Oxford Union on Islam,
he expressed a very little legitimate concern.
He said, you know, I'm not an expert on Islam.
and I said, here's the way I want you to think of this, Lawrence.
You don't have to be an expert in plumbing to say, I have six inches of water in my house.
And so if in this debate someone wants to say to you, yeah, but you don't know anything about plumbing, you don't know anything about construction, you don't know anything about pipes, your response is going to be, no, I don't.
But what I know is, is my house is full of six inches of water.
meaning that when it comes to Islam, anyone he wants to tell you that, well, you don't know the Quran, you don't know Arabic, you're not a scholar, you're not, what we know is the practical outcome of it, which is rape, slaughter, knifeings, suicide bombings, a lying, a takeover of cultures, the absolute destruction of any society they enter into.
And for leftists to allow them into the West, it's like Hobbit's meeting and saying, you know what?
The orcs have reformed.
That meat is no longer on the menu.
Let's just let them in wholesale and establish their own communities among us.
We're not talking about an ethnicity here.
If anybody wants to accuse you of racism, it's absolute nonsense.
It is an ideology, and we fight ideologies.
We oppose it. 2 Corinthians 10-5. We destroy arguments in every lofty opinion that is raised against the knowledge of God.
That's what I exist to do. That's my mission statement. And it's yours.
One thing that's been driving me nuts on the right are all the grifters. People who call themselves patriots and Christians while being anything but this is why I'm so happy to partner with a company that actually lives by their words, Patriot Mobile.
Patriot Mobile are real patriots. They're also unashamed to proclaim that they are Christians.
They've been standing on the front lines fighting for freedom long before all these frauds popped out of the woodwork,
cosplaying conservatism.

That's patriotmobile.com slash metaxis.
Patriot mobile.
Dot com slash metaxis or call 972 Patriot.
That's 972 Patriot.
Well, that's so well put.
I recently read a book.
I was at an event.
I think it was a TPSA faith event.
And somebody who was also at the event speaking, I believe, handed me a book.
He says, I've written this book.
I'd love you to read it.
His name is Dr. Mark Christian.
and the title of the book is the apostate.
And I read the book, and we're going to have him on this program.
But he talks about being raised in a very devout Muslim home in Egypt.
His father was one of the true leaders of Islam in Egypt.
And what he describes is so horrific and astonishing.
It's almost unbelievable.
But he's describing his being raised in this home
and how at some point in his zeal to connoissee,
to convert others to Islam, he starts doing research.
And the more research he does, the more questions he has,
until his faith starts to fracture.
And he has kind of like a meltdown because he thinks,
this is, I don't want to doubt the faith.
I don't want to doubt this.
I must believe.
I must believe.
Eventually, of course, he loses his faith and by the grace of God
becomes a Christian.
but the more I have read, just reading his account of what it actually is, it is, as I have said,
almost unbelievable, ladies and gentlemen. It is almost unbelievable. Larry, I want to get to your talk,
which people can see at your YouTube channel, Larry Taunton. But there are things that, you know,
when you read them, you think, this just can't be right. And I'll say this, and then I'll turn it over to you.
but part of the reason many of us don't believe,
don't want to believe the worst
to what we hear of something like Islam
is because we have met many moderate Muslims.
In other words, the kind of people who are bad Muslims.
It's kind of like the guy who says,
I'm a Catholic because I'm Irish or I'm Italian,
but I don't go to church and I don't believe all that stuff
and I'm sleeping with my girlfriend.
We've been together 10 years.
I mean, I think that you get confused
because we see a lot of people that they're really not living it out,
but they'll use the term Muslim.
But when you really look at the actual thing itself,
it is almost unbelievable.
And I don't shrink and you don't shrink from saying it is demonic.
It is a false religion.
Who would invent a false religion besides Ron Hubbard?
Well, the devil, the devil would.
So, okay, so what would you want to say to begin?
Well, I agree wholeheartedly with that, but I would add this. I don't think it's just because
people have met so-called moderate Muslims who are kind of like Methodists. You know, I mean,
they just don't take their holy literature particularly seriously. But I think it's because it's
outside of their experience, meaning most Westerners have grown up, whether they recognize
it or not. They've grown up in a, they've inhaled deeply of a Judeo-Christian world
view and ethic. And it informs the world around them. And so they kind of grow up sort of naive
about the rest of the world. I encounter this occasionally in the third world where say I bump
into a couple that's planning on bicycling through the Middle East or something like that.
I mean, I really do encounter people like that who are of the view that that people are the same
the world over. And they make these basic assumptions that everybody at heart,
is really a good person, you know, this kind of nonsense, not understanding that the values of a given culture
determine the behavior of the people in that culture. And so when you're telling them about these
kinds of things, people who have a very predatory view of them, of their women, of their children,
it's outside of their experience for most, and they can't conceive of it. And so for them,
it's like, no, that can't possibly be true.
You're making this up.
You're just some Trump or, you know, or whatever.
So I think, I think that's, that's one of the reasons.
And it's, it's the kind of thing where unfortunately people often have to experience it,
have to witness it for themselves before they're really changed,
before they experience that what's it called a red pill, you know, kind of moments.
And they're like, oh, wow, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't recognize.
And by the way, I've seen this many times when I've taken people with me abroad who were of those kinds of views on any number of issues, but somehow seeing it, whatever it is, not just Islam, but any number of things we might be discussing. And you can see them coming away from it with an aha, you know, moment where they're like, oh, wow, I didn't realize that what you were saying.
I mean, we have to say communism is the other thing. I mean, there's so many naive Americans.
who don't have a clue.
It's unbelievable.
And all you have to do is talk to my mom who escaped at age 17, East Germany.
Why?
Because she was horrified at what she was seeing and hearing.
And anybody who grew up in Cuba or in China, I just spoke to Xi Van Fleet, who saw
the satanic evil of Maoist communist China, lived and saw it, the horror of it.
So you need to talk to these people.
You need to read their stories.
But folks, you know, we're not making this up.
This is some dark, dark, dark stuff.
But keep going.
We make Chevrolet vehicles.
But what you do with them makes them so much more.
You make them mobile offices, your kids' personal taxi, a concert shuttle, your hockey equipment
locker, your recording studio.
We make a Chevrolet, but you make it a Chevy.
Discover yours at Chevrolet.
Absolutely true. An example that will resonate with you and your writing. I saw, I've forgotten her first name, you might know it, Beatrice Bonhoeffer's sister-in-law in an interview and one of the best World War II documentaries ever narrated by Lawrence Olivier called World at War. Now it's almost impossible to find. But she says in an interview in that that she was in a, you know, like a breadline in Germany.
and she was talking to a woman in front of her and said they're actually making soap and lampshades out of Jews.
And they were saying to her, what?
This is sheer nonsense.
And this never happened.
And so on her husband, you're chastised her for it saying, hey, you're going to get yourself arrested.
And that's not the way we're going to do about things.
But she was saying that people weren't ready to receive the truth.
They just didn't want to believe it.
They weren't going to believe it.
So in this particular talk, which I have to say, by the way, was received really, really well by this group of men.
I was very appreciative.
One told me it was the best presentation they ever had.
And I'm grateful for that because I went into it thinking these guys aren't real like what I'm going to say because this is going to be a very, you know, bare-fisted talk.
I have 20 minutes or 30 minutes or whatever it is.
I don't have time to soft-pedal it.
I want to awaken these men to the reality of what's going on in the world.
But I began by just simply talking about my own experiences with Islam and then talking about
those that we've referred to in this conversation as moderates who aren't actually Muslims at all.
And as one Muslim said to me, a guy who was in hiding, I went to meet with him, to hear him speak in a very secret location because he's living under a fatwa.
that is a death sentence, an honor killing.
There's an attempt to kill him.
And I asked him, this is probably 20 years ago, but I asked him, what do you make of the difference
between the so-called moderates and the so-called radicals?
And he said, I would describe myself as for many years, but in this guy, converted Christianity,
and that's the reason that he's living under a fatwa.
but he said, I would have described myself as a moderate.
And he said, I like most Muslims in the world,
I knew that the Quran, the Hadith, the life of Muhammad,
all of which we're supposed to read or model ourselves after,
that it called for violence.
And I didn't want to read that because I didn't want to feel like a bad Muslim.
And so I avoided it.
And that's true of a lot of Muslims.
They're aware of that.
They don't want to go there.
but let me tell you the way why those people are also dangerous or potentially dangerous.
And it is because those people are easily radicalized and they are by amams, by clerics,
who are sent in by, you know, some Arab country, say the Saudis who might be funding it.
They're sent in to begin teaching in those communities and to call those people out as bad Muslims.
to tell them that Allah's wrath burns against them.
So what ends up happening,
you will have this described to you all over Africa
in the Middle East and now in parts of Europe,
where people will say for years,
we lived in harmony with the Muslims here.
They dressed the way we did.
Their kids went to the same schools.
We listened to the same music
and watch the same movies and TV shows.
But then these clerics showed up,
and slowly those relationships began to be severed.
I was no longer invited to spend the night
at their house.
My best friend was never allowed to come and spend the night at my house.
We would find ourselves sitting in separate places, going to different parts of the community.
And then soon their women began wearing hijabs, macabs, these kinds of things.
And then the violence began.
And you see, it happens progressively.
And it happens by saying you're a bad Muslim, all is wrath earns against you.
you will burn in hell.
And those people begin to react to that.
And I've been with many Muslims when these things kind of happen.
So just by way of example, when I was in Cairo, on one occasion, I'm with a Muslim woman who dresses very Western.
She's Muslim, but she's very Western in her education and in her thinking.
And we're going into the bazaar, whether, you know, the big grand, um, Lebrinthian, bizarre.
are and a Muslim caraclaricas outside of it,
these guys carry sticks,
which they shake at you.
And he sees her talking to me.
I'm clearly not Middle Eastern,
but you sees also that she's dressed Western.
And she's wearing blue jeans and a long-sleeved shirt
and, you know, some jewelry.
She's dressed very modestly and just like a Western woman.
And he begins shouting at her in Arabic and began spitting in front of her.
And she shouts back at him,
and we just keep walking on.
And I said, what does he say to you?
And she said, he's calling me a whore.
He's calling me a Western whore.
And he's trying to shame me into wearing the hijab and this kind of thing.
Well, when those people come to power, they force women like that into that.
But they rate them first.
And there will be people who will say, you're making that up.
I'm telling you, it is a fact, it is true.
I've witnessed this stuff all over the world.
And you're very foolish if you do not take seriously that this is an ideology of conquest.
Look at France. France is done. Britain barring a third grade awakening over.
America has a chance, but we must attack this ideology ruthlessly and we must export it.
Well, the ruthlessness, again, I think, you know, most Americans, as well, we must export it.
especially most American Christians, they're too nice to comprehend that this evil exists,
that there are people who will rape with impunity.
And it's interesting, as I read, I mentioned Dr. Mark Christian's book, The Apostate,
just to be reminded, the view that Islam has of women,
it makes the handmaid's tale seem like, you know, glorious Steinem.
It is unbelievably low view of women.
It is so sick that if you love your mom, your sister, your daughter, you're sickened to read how unbelievably misogynist Islam is at its core.
It is every, you know, fantasy that the left has of what Christianity is, which is not true in the Christian faith.
But this actually is that.
And that's to me what's so amazing, that women are, they're treated like whores.
They're treated like property.
You know, that's because that's what they are.
That's they exist solely to serve the male appetite.
That's what they're there for.
And you will see.
And by the way, I should probably add this.
There is often, I see this expressed on social media a lot, that women are victims in Islam.
Some of the most violent enablers of Islam are women.
I've been in circumstances where I thought I might be saving a woman from, you know, a beating
or from something she's experienced only to have hate dumped out, you know, I mean, meaning you suddenly become aware that she's on board with all of this.
And they particularly love it towards other women.
So I retweeted, for instance, yesterday a woman being dragged.
Somebody videoed in a Muslim country, a woman being dragged by her husband, by the hair.
She's being dragged.
And people are cheering as all this is going on.
And people think, well, you know, poor woman, women are treated that women cheer this stuff on.
Not all of them.
But many of them do, meaning there's something very, you know, sin nature spills across both male and female.
It runs through all of us.
And it's horrifying the way this religion actually plays out in what it looks like.
But see, part of the naivete is because Muslims recognize right now, you find this on my Twitter.
I retweeted this just a couple of days ago.
And it's a guy in, I think he's in Houston.
But anyway, he's in the United States, somewhere in the United States.
And he's speaking to a Muslim crowd.
and he's laying out the strategy.
He says, for right now, and I'm paraphrasing him,
for right now we're peaceful with them,
and we are going to target young people,
college, age, high school, that sort of thing.
But then he says, but the time may come where it requires swords.
We will resort to that.
We're going to move from one thing to another thing.
That's saying out loud what anybody who's had any real interactions with this religion already knows.
But again, when you put this stuff out there, a lot of people are like, well, he's just a radical.
No, he's not a radical.
He is an Orthodox Muslim.
That is what Islam is.
That's what it calls for.
And this is, again, to repeat what I said earlier, this is the part that people in the West don't get.
They think, well, it's just religion that's violent.
No, all religions aren't violent.
see Amish flying planes into the sides of buildings. I'm unaware of any Lutheran suicide bombers. I'm not
aware of any, you know, Presbyterians who have loads of sex life, not happening. And that's because
it's contrary to the teachings of Christ. When we see these things in Islam, it's in perfect keeping
with what Islam is. And again, I know there are some people that they just cannot bear to believe it.
Folks, it's on you.
The more I have looked into this quite recently, the more I've just been stunned at my own ignorance and naivete.
One thing I bumped into in the book by Dr. Mark Christian, The Apostate, which I'd forgotten, is the antipathy of Islam to art and music.
So, hey, you like your rock and roll music, you know, you like that Renoir painting.
there's no room for this in in that religion it's it's again it's kind of like it kind of like it is a
perversion of or no i should say it's it's when people think of the most horrifying uh caricature of
some kind of of christian cult that says you know we're going to dress plain and we don't believe in
art and music it's all the devil's music whatever all of that is true in Islam but you don't
you know, you don't hear about it.
We don't, we, did we forget that the Taliban destroyed these gigantic ancient statues?
What an amazing thing to destroy.
Why would they do that?
Why would they, why can they just leave it alone?
If you don't like it, don't look at it.
No, they destroyed ancient art.
I mean, it's, it's at least fascinating.
Yeah, well, it's anti-intellectual.
The religion itself has, offers nothing worthy of imitation.
nothing worthy of imitation.
And if somebody points to a Muslim artist or great writer, whatever,
it doesn't have a damn thing to do with the fact that he's a Muslim.
Whereas when we point to a great Christian writer,
a great Christian artist,
it has everything to do with the fact that they're a Christian
or came from that background.
So when we're talking about Dante,
you know, when we're talking about Milton,
when we were talking about Michelangelo,
when we're talking about Da Vinci,
is because they're products.
Whether or not they were Christians
is actually immaterial as it relates to this.
It has everything to do with the fact
that they were inspired by that culture
that encouraged human flourishing
in that way and affirmed the beauty of nature
and of life itself.
And that's why the West, you know,
produce these things.
Not because people in the West were, you know,
in their genetic composition somehow different than other people around the world, they're not.
It's because the ideas that they absorbed were very different.
And it found expression in another way through capitalism, through the rise of science.
The Muslims didn't have science.
Science was a product of the West.
All of these things are a product of Christian cultures.
And that's extremely important to understand as well.
And again, we are running, particularly in Western Europe, more so than in the United States, is running off of the accumulated capital of Christianity.
And you see, they don't realize it.
I wrote a chapter in my last book around the world in more than 80 days about France that I titled, Living in the Ruins.
And what I met by that was when you're in France, and we've been in France together.
We've traveled France together.
So you will know that what I'm saying is true.
The French will often brag about their architecture and the greatness.
of their culture.
And I like to remind them you didn't build any of this stuff.
That prefabricated apartment complex over there that is an eyesore is what you built.
These beautiful stone-lined canals, the beautiful architecture of Paris, the really beautiful stuff.
Many of the city, you didn't build any of that.
That was built by generations, generations ago who built that stuff.
and you're now living in the ruins of it, thinking that it's an expression of your culture,
but your culture has produced nothing comparable to what their culture produced.
You're just living in the ruins, you see, and you think, you think you're like, you're,
you're like the inheritor of some ancestor who bequeathed wealth that's come down generationally,
but you don't really understand anything of his vision that built the, you know, the built more estate.
you know, let's say, not dumping on those people. I don't know them, but you understand the
metaphor. And that's, that's, that really is, is the case with, with what we're seeing in Western
Europe. They don't understand the origins of their own culture that have given rise to democracy,
freedom, to art, to literature, to all of this. And so the result is that when Muslims come in and
are seeking to destroy it, they really don't put up much of a,
fight and it's because they don't value it either. Yeah, it's, it's unbelievable. Again, I think that
most of us, you know, we, we just want to think that, hey, everybody's the like, you know,
everybody's like us. And on the one hand, look, folks, every lie has truth in it. There's no such
thing as a pure lie, right? So every lie has just enough truth in it to fool you. That's the goal,
is to fool you into believing the lie.
And the idea that God loves every one of us,
that every one of us is made in his image,
all of that is central.
But that doesn't mean that there aren't people
who want to kill you,
who want to conquer your civilization,
rape your women.
We have to, it's both, right?
It's both.
And of course, we should want to convert these people.
to save them from this diabolical false religion. Yes, we should. But at the same time, first,
we have to prevent them from harming us, from destroying our civilization. We have to get real.
We have to understand what we're dealing with. Just a few minutes left, Larry. What have we not touched on here?
Well, let me say this again about Aurora Mardaganian's book. She ended, I think she died in maybe the 1980s,
perhaps the 1990s and a film was submitted that won at the Cannes Film Festival.
It's a cartoon, but cartoons suggest it's animated as maybe a better way to put it
about that story.
It's ravished Armenia, her book, was made into this animated story, and it's a rated R animated feature.
But it's worth watching.
If you're not going to read the book, you can find it on Amazon.
very, very powerful, tells her story, has some interviews with her in it. But it is, it's,
it's like a combination of Schindler's list and unbroken. Because here she is relating the
story of being forced marched across Asia Minor, being sold in the markets again and again and
again. She tells, for instance, one particular store where all these Christian girls, they're all,
They're all Armenian girls are brought in before this Sultan.
And they demand that they convert to Islam.
A girl declines.
And so they beat her to death right there in front of all of them and string her body up.
And go to the next one.
Will you convert?
And all these girls, you know, begin quote unquote converting.
And Mardi Ghanian says, you know, I didn't convert in my heart.
heart. But I was terrified and I saw the bloody corpse of this woman. And then she's taken in
and forced to have sex with this man and then sold to someone else. And on and on,
she's telling the story. And then it's eventually an American who saves her. Now, what is the
difference? Because American DNA is somehow different from Ottoman Turk. That is to say,
Muslim. We talk about the Ottomans. We need to be clear. We're talking about
Muslims. Is it because there's a difference in there? No, it's because the Ottomans had absorbed
the cult evil ideology of Islam. And American culture have been gentled by, had been animated by
the Christian faith. And of course, this is what your latest book is about, is the importance
of that. But let me add this as we close, Eric. A, I want you to help me get that book.
out. But second thing is I want other people to pick up this argument. My argument that the banning of
Sharia really accomplishes nothing. My own senator, who I'm very grateful for, Tommy Tuberville,
is pushing for the banning of Sharia. I get it. However, that isn't the way it's going to happen.
we need clever lawyers to construct a legal argument for denying Islam the respectability that it's given under the auspices of religion.
Okay, that is that's a big point. It's a radical point. And it is absolutely correct. I was talking to my friend Ryan Helfenbine of Liberty University about this recently.
But that's a heavy lift in this sick culture.
It is. But go ahead.
But it's the argument that it's an argument that I've made on this show before, and it's an argument I've been making for quite a while. And I think I did in the Q&A, which the Q&A is not included in this particular talk that we're discussing my talk on September 11th. But we have to deny it that. And it's because, again, bear in mind that Islam, it's like allowing into your club. You know, let's say your club is you create a club for.
for the flying of paper planes, the making and flying of paper planes.
And you have somebody who's joining your club who doesn't believe in the making or flying
of paper planes.
They want to destroy all paper planes.
Well, I mean, you wouldn't sensibly allow somebody like that into your club in my silly analogy.
Well, in real life, to allow a people into your culture who state quite openly that their
goal is the total destruction and overthrow of your culture, that your bill of rights, freedom
of religion, assembly, press, petition, and speech, they agree with none of that.
They don't believe in any of those freedoms. But guess what we're going to do? We're going to,
we're going to give you the respectability, the status of a religion. And we're going to let
flourish in our mental. It will let you build your mosque. And by the way, I will guarantee you
that many of these mosques are being stockpiled with weapons, because that's what happens in Europe
and other parts of the world. Yeah. I've seen.
Charlie Hebdo attacks came out of these mosques, and it's where the terrorists themselves went then to hide.
They are bases of operations in our midst.
We're going to have to leave it there.
Larry Taunton, folks, we've been talking about many things, his talk, the cross in the Quran, the book by Aurora Mardaghanian, ravished Armenia.
So many other things. Larry, my friend, thank you.
Good to see it, brother.
You take care.
You've often heard me talk about the golden triangle of freedom, that intersection of faith, virtue, and liberty.
And for that triangle to hold, we need access to the truth.
Unfortunately, the Medicare system often feels designed to obscure the truth, leaving millions on plans that don't actually fit their needs.
