Starting point is 00:00:00 Hey there, folks. Welcome to the Eric Metaxis show. I'm going to be playing the role of Eric Pataxis. I apologize in advance. A lot of big news. Big, big, big news. In a moment, I'm going to be speaking with Dr. Hormos Shariat. He is the head of Iran Alive Ministries. He has been ministering, bringing Jesus to the people of Iran. He is. is himself, Iranian Persian, for many, many years, very, very effectively, we're going to be talking to him about what is going on in Iran in just a moment. And of course, that's the headline news. But the problem on a day like today is there's another headline. As you know, we're having, it looks to me like a civil war.
Starting point is 00:01:00 It looks to me like blue state governors, blue state mayors, whatever, have fired on Fort Sumter. They have challenged the federal government openly, brazenly. People always talk about it's going to be a constitutional crisis. This is a constitutional crisis when you have people that don't understand how things work and they're seeing if they can get away with it. Yesterday, in a particularly ugly but very telling development, Don Lemon, who used to have a show on CNN, and I think is grasping for cultural relevance,
Starting point is 00:01:42 did something really despicable. He led an invasion of a church during a church service in Minneapolis yesterday. So with a BLM group, with a pro-Hamas, leftist, anti-ice, you name it group, they stormed into a church during a service and started chanting about Renee Good and whatever, you know, whatever named du jour, whatever cause du jour that they could think they could draw attention to. So a couple of things. First of all, Don Lemon is pathetic. He's absolutely pathetic. A gay black man who pretends that, you know, he should be Johnny Carson or he should be Walter Cronkite.
Starting point is 00:02:36 I don't know what he's looking for, but, you know, he's a marginalized person, you know, and he can't get any attention. So he has to break into a church. So look, here's the issue. Whoever did it, in America, just about the most sacred thing we have is religious liberty. So when you go into a church during a service to disrupt the sacred proceedings,
Starting point is 00:03:09 you are following in the footsteps of the KGB who would disrupt church services in the former Soviet Union because they were demonically inspired atheistic thugs, and they would go into church services. They would threaten Christians. The Gestapo, if you read my book on Bonhoeffer, you know that's what the Gestapo did. They were threatened by the church. And so they would go in and they would threaten church members.
Starting point is 00:03:38 Now, why do authoritarian, genuine authorities, genuine thugs, people who don't, you know, who yap about democracy, but are the enemies of democracy. Why are they threatened by Christians? Why do they feel that they can do that? Well, because that, because Christian faith is threatening. Because when you answer to a higher authority, when you say that we look to God, not to government, we obey God before man, that is threatening to people who want you to obey them. So religious liberty is the front line. And so, to see this again this
Starting point is 00:04:16 pathetic individual I have to say just clamoring for attention dying for attention he wants to be I don't know he wants Anderson Cooper's job
Starting point is 00:04:31 I guess and he thought that this would be a very clever way of insinuating himself into the news cycle which he did of course right but to do something like this is an amazing abrogation of what we stand for as Americans.
Starting point is 00:04:48 And it's a good moment for us to try to understand that. If somebody did that to a mosque, I would say, excuse me, that's not right. That's not right. You don't do that. But to do it in a church in Minneapolis at a time like this, just particularly grasping and pathetic. and in this country, we ought not to tolerate that. Patriots have died for our liberties at the top of the list, religious liberty.
Starting point is 00:05:23 So we ought not to tolerate this. It really doesn't matter why you're disrupting the service. That's not the way we do things in America. You want to protest, you protest. But this would be no different than storming a kindergarten class, right? And you say, free speech, free speech, I'm storming the kindergarten class. Well, in America, we don't let you protest in kindergarten classes. We set that aside.
Starting point is 00:05:49 We say that's a sacred space. They're children in there. Well, similarly, church services, that's a sacred space. You're not allowed to protest there. You don't have First Amendment rights. You don't have free speech to go into a private gathering of religious worshippers. And again, if this is too complicated, some things are a little complicated. but you know you've heard about you can't scream fire in a crowded theater right you know the Supreme court has said yes you have free speech but if you scream fire in a crowded theater you're causing damage you're doing so we're going to be talking about this in in the weeks ahead it's a big deal I want to say that I'm going to be going to Davos Switzerland tomorrow I'm flying to Davos Switzerland I'm going to be speaking on this issue of religious liberty and the American
Starting point is 00:06:39 founding in the belly of the beast near the World Economic Forum people. I'm going to be at the USA House there. I believe President Trump will be there. So we'll give you update on that. To those of you who have donated to CSI, fantastic. God bless you. I cannot tell you what a success this has been. We have freed over a thousand people from slavery.
Starting point is 00:07:05 It's just stunning, glorious. God bless you. you thank you. Okay, we're going to get back. We're going to go to my guest, Dr. Hormos, Shariat with Iran Alive Ministries. Stay tuned. Hey there, folks. Welcome to today's program.
Starting point is 00:07:29 The hottest thing in the news, I think, is Iran. If you have a heart, if you care about truth, goodness, freedom, you care about what's going on in Iran right now. I'm old enough to remember the 1979 takeover by the Ayatollah Khomeini takeover of a country that was so free compared to what it's been in the last 47 years that it's just stunning. And we have a moment right now where freedom hangs in the balance. So I thought, wouldn't it be great if I could get my friend Dr. Hormos Shariak on the program? He is the head of Iran alive ministries. He's been ministering the good news of Jesus to the people of Iran for many years. And we have him right now.
Starting point is 00:08:21 Dr. Hormoz, Shariat, welcome back. Oh, thank you, Eric, for having me. How many years, Hormos, have you been ministering to the people of Iran? What is your story? Tell us a little bit of your story. Well, I were born in Iran as a Muslim, came to United States. for graduate studies and the first year after 79. At 79, I was a young student on the streets of Tehran,
Starting point is 00:08:48 shouting death to Shah, death to America. I wasn't a Christian, and by the way, I have repented of the death to America. This is a blessed nation, and I sing, God bless America, and I mean that. So I came to U.S. And right after that, I compared the Bible and Koran, trying to find the truth. And they were so different. I had to make a decision.
Starting point is 00:09:11 Then I became a follower of Jesus and that transformed my life. I started sharing the gospel to others. I felt this, Eric. I felt this simple message is so powerful. It changed my life. It healed my marriage. And I am selfish if I keep that to myself. So I started sharing the gospel.
Starting point is 00:09:33 1981. I went on radio. I did seven years of radio. And so I've been. ministering for a long time. Wow. Okay, so the last time you were on this program, a couple times you've been out with us, you were sharing, this is months ago and years ago also, about what God is doing in Iran under this theocracy, this brutal regime dictatorship of radical Muslim leaders who are the enemies of freedom, the enemies of freedom, the
Starting point is 00:10:09 of America, the enemies of Israel, that you have been broadcasting. Iran Alive Ministries has been broadcasting into Iran. And many people in Iran have come to faith in Jesus. Talk about that a little bit. Well, Iran is a very open country spiritually. The more suffering, the more people get open spiritually. You know, things happening and the situation in Iran is getting warm. wars and worse and worse.
Starting point is 00:10:42 And every time I think, hey, things cannot get any wars for the people of Iran. Then it does. At the same time, I think people of Iran cannot be even more open to the gospel. And then they do. So the worst Iran gets the more open people are to the gospel. Why? Because they have experienced Islam firsthand for 47 years. and they have found that Islam is not true.
Starting point is 00:11:11 It's a lie. It doesn't work. And I don't say that on my channel, but people of Iran, Muslims are saying, Islam is from Satan. And they have rejected Islam. So widespread of rejection of Islam.
Starting point is 00:11:25 And it's not an overnight emotional decision. It took him 47 years. But Islam is finished. It's done in Iran. People are looking around, looking at Eastern religion, New Age, Of course, they look at Christianity.
Starting point is 00:11:40 And Jesus is so attractive. The message of love, forgiveness is so attractive to the people of Iran who are sick and tired of violence and cruelty. So that's why Jesus is so attractive. So many are coming to Christ. And that's why Iran has the fastest growing evangelical population in the world. Wow. Say this again. That's the headline right there.
Starting point is 00:12:06 Iran has the fastest growing evangelical Christian population in the world. How can this be in a country that is so oppressed and that is so hostile to Christians and Jews? Well, it's happening because they have rejected Islam. They're open. They're looking, number one. Number two is that we are broadcasting. We have been broadcasting 24-7, for many years since 2001 after 9-11, we started broadcasting. So they're hearing the gospel.
Starting point is 00:12:38 And number three, Jesus is appearing to them. Vision, dreams, and miracles happen all the time. So all of these are helping together for Iranians to come to Christ in amazing numbers. I wish I could show you our curve, our salvation curve. It's just going like exponentially high. Hey, folks, before we get back to our guests, I just want to say a lot of people donate when there's a headline. but MDA, Magan David Adom, doesn't get to slow down when the news cycle moves on. MDA is Israel's national EMS system.
Starting point is 00:13:13 That means emergencies don't stop today, tomorrow, next month. Heart attacks, accidents, trauma, surgeries, blood shortages, they're constant. Keeping that system strong requires ongoing support. When you give to the American friends of Magen David Adom, you're funding the basics that make everything else possible. Ambulances on the road, blood banks for trauma. and surgery training for first responders and equipment that's used every single shift. This is not symbolic giving. This is practical life-saving support. If you want your donation to have direct measurable impact, this is one of the clearest ways to do it. Go to savinglifeisrael.org.
Starting point is 00:13:52 That's savinglifeisrael.org. Well, I mean, again, you've said it. There are many reasons for this. One of them is that people have had the time to examine Islam and to realize, like, Like with communism, after some point, you realize, you know what, this is not working out. This is, maybe this is not right and true. And then you discover, yes, this is not right and true. This is a lie. I want to talk about that for a moment with you, Hormose, because you were a serious Muslim. You were chanting, death to America.
Starting point is 00:14:31 You believed those things. and then something happened to you. Isn't it fascinating to you that we have, I mean, in the kind of pathetic, ecumenical world of tolerance where we say, oh, the great religions of the world? I mean, in my lifetime, I've heard this so many times,
Starting point is 00:14:49 the great religions of the world. And you think, listen, some religions are false. Islam is a false religion. This doesn't mean that every, Muslim is a bad person, of course not. But the foundation of the faith is false. It is a lie.
Starting point is 00:15:10 It is based on lies, which is something amazing to think about, because so many people are uncomfortable, they're uncomfortable with truth. But if you're uncomfortable with truth, then you're not going to say something's a lie. You sort of treat everything like, well, listen, people believe what they believe. It's all the same. We have to deal with truth. Is it true or not? Did Jesus rise from the dead or not?
Starting point is 00:15:33 Yes or no. There's no maybe or I believe he did, but who knows. Either he did or he didn't. The same with Islam, the same with the Quran. So when you were a young man confronted with the claims of Christianity and you began looking at the Quran and the claims of Islam, what did you discover? I mean, this must have been somebody like me, most people watching this program can't imagine what it would be like to have this experience of beliefs.
Starting point is 00:16:01 leaving something and then having that faith begin to crumble. Was it initially terrifying? What did it feel like to you to discover that what you had been raised in was not true? I came to Christ when Islam was very popular in Iran. Iranians were ready to live and die for Islam. And they did in Iraq war. So I came to Christ by just being sincere to myself, seeking God, comparing Bible and Quran.
Starting point is 00:16:33 And you mentioned something. I thought I was a very good intellectual at that time. You know, I research scientists. And I thought, oh, all religions are the same. Why do they fight? If you really study them, they're basically the same. That's an idea from an intellectual who hasn't really studied. And you hear that all that often.
Starting point is 00:16:54 So I came to reading Bible and Quran, expecting both to be basically, the same. But the more I read, they're not the same. Jesus is not Muhammad and Quran is not the Bible. So after a few months of study, I had to make a decision. Both cannot be true. One of them has to be true. That's when I went and to a church in downtown Los Angeles heard the gospel. A simple, a simple message. Even a child can understand. And that simple message changed my life. That's why I got excited. This thing, this message is powerful. Can heal marriages, heal relationships, change a nation, change a person.
Starting point is 00:17:36 That's why I said, I'm selfish if I keep this to myself. Well, what's interesting to me is I think people get very confused about, you know, there's the phrase that, you know, you hate the sin, you love the sinner. So you can say that Islam is a death cult, but when you believe that millions of people, almost billions have been deceived. You love those people. And this is what you're doing in Iran. You're loving people.
Starting point is 00:18:07 And you're saying, I want to help you. I want to show you the truth. I want the scales to fall from your eyes as they fell from my eyes. This is not about me being right and you being wrong. This is about God being right and all of us being wrong and all of us needing to know him. And so I can imagine that that's, in some ways a difficult process, but it's a beautiful process to begin realizing that there is truth and Jesus is truth. And it makes me very happy to think that people in Iran are coming
Starting point is 00:18:44 to faith as you're describing through Iran alive ministries and through Jesus appearing in dreams. But I can't help, I can't out but think that what is happening in Iran now, this uprising against the theocratic moas, these monsters, has a lot to do with the rise of Christian faith in Iran. It's good and bad. It's the worst time in Iran in terms of living there. The people being killed by thousands and arrested by tens of thousands. It's very miserable life in Iran physically, but spiritually, it's an amazing open heaven.
Starting point is 00:19:25 And both are coming at the same time. know that in Jeremiah 49, 38, we know the end result. God promises there that I will set my throne in Elam. Ilam is a land completely inside Iran. So we know at the end what will happen. Ivan will know Jesus and his throne will be there. But now it's a struggle. It's a spiritual warfare. The government of Ivan is not just a threat to its own people. The government of Iran is a threat to the world. Just think how cruel they are in killing their own people. And imagine if they have atomic bomb, they will have no problem using that against other nations. So Iran, what's happening in Iran is not just between the Iranian government and the Iranian people. It's worldwide. The impact
Starting point is 00:20:18 will be worldwide. If they stay, they're going to be threat to the whole world. And if they go, there will be a blessing to the whole world. are seeking atomic bomb. And sooner or later, they will get it. If the West, not just Trump, if the West does not anything, they will face an atomic Iran and they will be sorry. So this is the perfect time, not just to help the people of Iran who are uprising, giving their lives, but it's a time for the West to get rid of this government that's a threat to its own people, to its own people to the region and even to the world. There are so many people, even conservatives,
Starting point is 00:21:01 who are very naive about this, and they almost act as though when you say America first, it means America only, and we're going to, you know, we shouldn't get involved. There are times when we should get involved, and it seems to me that this might be one of those times. In other words, I don't know, we always have to define what does it mean
Starting point is 00:21:23 because we all have been, catechized to know that forever, we don't want forever wars. Good. That's correct. But this pinpoint strike that Trump made on the Iran nuclear facilities was, it was masterful. It was spectacular. To say that we ought not to do that seems to me preposterous. Now, the question is, what can we do now? I think there are many of people who are wondering what President Trump is thinking, because he's made very bold statements. And when Trump makes bold statements, he's not like Obama or Biden. He is somebody who always follows through on what he said. So I think a lot of people are wondering what he is going to do and what his options are, because of course we don't want to get involved
Starting point is 00:22:11 in a forever war, quote, unquote. But at the same time, there seems to be a moment of opportunity that people have been praying for for 47 years happening right now. So what is your sense of what President Trump might do. You know, as you said, he's very unpredictable. Intentionally, he's like that. But people of Iran very hopeful that he will attack. That's the number one hope of the people of Iran, that he will attack, not kill people, not kill,
Starting point is 00:22:44 not to destroy the facilities, the oil-producing facilities. They feel this belongs to the nation. Don't destroy that. What they are hoping is this, that he will, attack with laser accuracy kill the supreme leader first and his top commanders. That's the number one request
Starting point is 00:23:03 of the Iranian people from, not just from Trump, from Natan Yahoo and Israel. Would you come and do this? You did that in Lebanon, with Hezbollah, you did that with Hamas. So I know you can do this. You can, even if they hide five stories
Starting point is 00:23:19 on the ground, you can destroy them. Why don't you do that? Why don't you attack? our top leaders and set us free. That's their demand. And what is your sense about that? Do you think that that will happen? I don't know. I don't know why it hasn't happened. I have no answer. And I have asked many people. I was in Washington a few times. And even some people there, I ask them, why? This is the question I have not gotten an answer, Eric. Why over the years, you have killed the scientists, atomic
Starting point is 00:23:54 scientists, atomic facilities, missiles. And even in June, you killed some of the high army and the Revolutionary Guard commanders. But over the years, you have not even killed
Starting point is 00:24:10 one of the clerics who are truly in power. Why? I have not found an answer yet. My guess is that we have not been able to do that or at least right now.
Starting point is 00:24:26 I mean, listen, if I was the supreme leader of Iran, you know, worshipping the devil, I would know that I shouldn't make myself available for an easy U.S. strike. So who knows where he is at present? Maybe he's hiding in the basement of a Russian embassy or the Chinese embassy. I really don't know. But it does seem to me that he has to know or the leaders. have to know that they're in trouble. And I think that Trump, when he was threatened,
Starting point is 00:25:01 I mean, when you threaten Trump directly, when I think they put out the message that they missed you in Butler, but we're not going to miss. I mean, if you're dumb enough to say something like that to Donald Trump, he's thin-skinned in a good way, in the best way. He's going to take that seriously. So I don't know when it's going to happen, but I cannot imagine how it wouldn't happen
Starting point is 00:25:26 that he would take them out. Because again, I can't even think of a time that Trump said he's going to do something and he didn't do it. He's very, very, well, to me, it's a character issue. When you say something, do you follow through? Do you keep your promises? That's a character issue.
Starting point is 00:25:44 And most politicians are very bad about that. He has been unparalleled. He's been spectacular. So my guess would be, that he will do something. The only question is the details, and he's very coy. He's not going to be pleased. He is deliberately confusing people so that he can do what he wants to do.
Starting point is 00:26:04 So at least that's my guess. Yes. But I think and I hope both Trump and the people of Iran are saying this. If you do something and hope we do, do it in such a way that's a final result. You get the final result. the regime change. Don't do it. People are begging Trump. If you do something, don't do it in a way that the regime survives because if it survives, it's going to be even more brutal to us. And they have shown that. After things calm down, this is their history. After killing thousands and tens of
Starting point is 00:26:43 thousands on streets and arresting 30,000, 40,000 or more, this is what they have done in the past. things are calm, they execute those prisoners five a day. That's what they did last year. So the people of Iran are saying, by the way, they love Trump, they call him Uncle Trump.
Starting point is 00:27:04 Uncle Trump, come and save us, do something. But when you do something, make it final. Make them go away. Because if they stay, they're going to be trouble for us, people,
Starting point is 00:27:15 and they're going to be trouble for you, and they're going to be trouble for the whole world. because they have been, they are, and they will be seeking to produce atomic bomb. And once they have it, they have no reason not to use it. What is the Farsi to say Uncle Trump?
Starting point is 00:27:39 Amu. Amu is uncle. Amu Trump? Is that what they say? Amu Trump? Yeah, Amu Trump. Uncle Trump. Well, listen, I cannot imagine that the President Trump doesn't understand what you've just said. It's not about, I mean, in this case, you really do have to have regime change. You have to bring in somebody like the son of the Shah, Pahlavi. You have to bring in somebody to begin the process of transitioning to a free government. And again, I I think there's a lot of caution.
Starting point is 00:28:23 People have been fooled many, many times. People have been fooled, you know, with the so-called Arab Spring. You know, we'll get rid of Gaddafi. We'll get rid of, you know, you name it, Assad. And we have not brought in a free society. And so this is something that is, of course, very, very important that it's done right. But I just have confidence in Uncle Trump. I think he really is just a hero for.
Starting point is 00:28:51 our time. And I do believe that he's going to do what needs to be done. If you, can you explain to people how it is that you reach the people of Iran? In other words, again, I think most of us would assume that it's such a repressive regime that you wouldn't be able to broadcast in Iran. How do you do that or can you talk about that? Sure. First, satellite broadcast. Of course, we are on internet and streaming and social media. But number one, satellite television, their signal goes over the heads of the molas into people's homes. The signal comes from the sky. It cannot be stopped directly to people's homes. That's what we are doing. And through this uprising, by the way, they turn off internet,
Starting point is 00:29:39 but they cannot turn off satellite television. Actually, during these times, we have more viewers because they're caught off with internet, they go to satellite television. And now in their normal time, Not right now the internet is off. So we have a hard time interacting with the people of Iran, only with a few who have a Starlink right now, just a few who can talk back to us. But in normal times, they go to social media. We have safe social media rooms that they come and they can interact.
Starting point is 00:30:10 They can ask questions. We're training leaders in those rooms. We are planting, helping plant churches, underground churches in those rooms. So we have an underground church network and many, many Christians who have come to Christ through us over the last 25 years are in touch with us.
Starting point is 00:30:29 That's why this is the exciting part, Eric. This is the exciting. I'm so excited. In the midst of the grief that I have for the death of all these young people, in my heart, there is excitement. Why? Because I know when the regime falls down,
Starting point is 00:30:46 we have Ivan alive, we have believers, in every city, town and town in Iran. And with the help of our friends, when the regime comes down, we're going to go to Iran. And within the first three months, tens, and maybe hundreds of churches will be planted. So in the midst of all this suffering, there's some good news.
Starting point is 00:31:08 Hey, folks. I want to tell you about a coffee company. I genuinely admire Ten Boom Coffee, inspired by the faith and courage of the Ten Boom family. This isn't just great coffee. it's coffee with a mission, ethically sourced, expertly roasted,
Starting point is 00:31:22 and rooted in Christian values. If you care about what you consume and who it supports, this is coffee you can feel good about. Go to 10boomcoffee.com. Use promo code Eric for 15% off your order. That's 10boomcoffee.com code Eric. Well, this is what's so amazing
Starting point is 00:31:38 that if by the grace of God this regime falls, as I believe it will, you're going to be able, to be openly Christian in Iran. This is unbelievable, folks. You have to understand how amazing that would be, what a big deal that would be.
Starting point is 00:31:58 What is it like right now, what is it like right now Hormoz for Christians? In other words, how are they allowed by any stretch of the imagination, can they gather to worship or does everything have to be underground? Everything has to be underground. The government of Iran is very scared of Christians because they know once somebody becomes a Christian,
Starting point is 00:32:28 they will never go back to Islam. Number two, they're spread. They share their faith. And they are afraid of losing power. So the persecution in Iran is based on fear of the government of Christians. And what they do, of course, they close the building churches, 15 years ago.
Starting point is 00:32:48 But they're so afraid of even Christians gathering in homes. You know, sometimes I feel, Eric, that government of Yon believes in the power of church more than we do. They don't want Christians to gather. What they do is if you gather, even in a home, even with your friends and family members, you will get a long jail term. Just as an example, I want to share the story of Nargis. many people have been arrested last year, long jail terms.
Starting point is 00:33:19 But Dargis was to just had a baby, a young lady, just a baby. And they arrested her last summer. And they put her in jail. And they said, you have to be in jail for 17 years. 17 years, this young mother. Do you know what her crime was? Attending a house church. That's what it's going on.
Starting point is 00:33:44 on in Iran. The policy of putting fear in the hearts of Christians, don't share your faith, don't gather. You will be okay. If you're just in your home, you're a Christian. But the moment you gather, the moment you tell others about Jesus, you will be in trouble.
Starting point is 00:34:01 You will be tortured and you will be in jail 10, 15, 20 years. I, you know, as I hear you say this, Hormose, it makes me think of American Christians, spoiled American Christians who have no idea what people around the world suffer and have suffered for their faith in Jesus. And I think, you know, I will say it bluntly, it makes me wonder if those many people who call themselves Christians are in fact not Christians. In other words, if you don't understand that there's a price to pay, and if you are not
Starting point is 00:34:41 paying that price in your life in obedience to what God has called you to do. I mean, I think of people, you know, quote unquote Christians who've left their wives, they've committed adultery, and they somehow still are living in this fantasy that they're Christians. And I think to myself, you couldn't even obey God in that. What would happen if you lived in a place like China or Iran where when you want to really be a Christian, you're going to be seriously persecuted. So I really wonder sometimes who really is a Christian when I hear these kinds of stories
Starting point is 00:35:21 of what people suffer for their faith in these countries. And I really do believe that the people of Iran, the people of China, those who are Christians, those people will lead the way in world revival. Those are the real Christians. Those are the Christians from whom we in the West can learn. I guess the idea that you could have evangelism happening in Iran, how amazing that would be. I would love to go there with you by the grace of God to see this
Starting point is 00:35:53 with my own eyes. It would be an amazing, amazing thing to see something that for 47 years, we have not been able to have evangelism, open evangelism, churches, and that kind of thing. I know you've been praying for this for many years. Amen. We know the end result, Jeremiah 4938, and it's going to happen sooner or later. And you're invited, Eric, to come with us and see firsthand all these underground church believers.
Starting point is 00:36:25 You know, when you think of those people, underground church believers, don't think of these miserable, fearful people hiding in the closet in their homes. No, no, no, no. They are supernaturally brave. Did you know during the last few weeks, Christians have been on streets? Some of them have been killed. But through our satellite television, we are giving direction to the Christians.
Starting point is 00:36:49 We say, you need to be salt and light. You need to go and serve people. Go out, be with people, share the gospel. Some of our people have taken the wounded. You know, if somebody's shot, if they go to hospital, the hospital gives their names to the government. And many times the last few weeks, this is so sad, Eric, a person's shot goes to the hospital. Hospital gives their names to the government.
Starting point is 00:37:19 The government goes to the hospital and do the last shot. Kills them right there. Many reports have shown that. So they cannot go to the hospital. What do they do? They go home, either they die home and they try to get help. Now, the good part news is this, the Christians, when we ask them to do something they do in Iran,
Starting point is 00:37:44 ask them to bring the wounded into their homes, and many are doing that, find a doctor, many of them know a doctor or nurse of a Christian, to bring them home in their home and heal and help the wounded. And many Christians are doing that. And we are hearing their stories of salvation of Muslims being helped by Christians. The Muslims have been. shot being helped by Christians in their homes and coming to Christ.
Starting point is 00:38:11 Jesus has called us to be salt and light. And the persecuted Christians in Iran, they are brave and they are out there. They are just like the Book of Acts. They're not praying. They're praying, God, give us courage, you know, and let us go and give us wisdom to go. And they're not hiding. They're sharing the gospel. their faith actively.
Starting point is 00:38:37 So change your mind about the persecuted Christians. They're brave young men and women who are not afraid to die. And let's be with them. Let's help the church in Iran to be healthy and grow. Because they're going to impact Iran. They're going to
Starting point is 00:38:53 impact the Middle East. And they're going to impact their world. I'm not saying that. Jeremiah 49.38 is saying that. Hormos, can I ask you to pray in Persian and Farsi. I mean, for the people of Iran, or if there's anybody listening,
Starting point is 00:39:13 who is of a Persian descent, who doesn't know Jesus, maybe you can invite them, whatever you'd like to do. Of course, let me take a minute. Is that okay to speak Farsi? Yes. Okay. I'm, I'm rojave to Godi's slob I'm talking to love. God is God's God of
