Starting point is 00:00:09 Welcome to the Eric Mattaxas show. It's a nutritious smoothie of creamy, fresh, yogurt, vanilla, protein powder, and a mushy banana. For your mind, drink it all down. It's nummy. I wub, vanilla. I wub, I wop, I wap, vanilla. Here comes Eric Metaxis. Hey there, folks.
Starting point is 00:00:30 Welcome to the program. Today, we have two very interesting guests and one not interesting guest. Actually, that's not true. The not interesting guest is not going to be on. So we only have interesting guests. In our one today, we have John Graves. He's with Million Voices.org. We're going to talk about Christians being involved in politics with John Graves.
Starting point is 00:00:54 In our two, we have Adam Angievsky, who he's with OpenThebooks.com. Both just fascinating people. Like when you talk to people like John Graves and Adam Angioski, it gives you hope for America. So both hours today, very, very exciting, genuinely exciting for me to know that these two men exist and are working hard as activist citizens. It's just a beautiful thing. A couple of things to mention tonight at some point, something like Joe Biden. I don't know if it's an automaton, if it's a hologram, but they say Joe Biden himself is going to be addressing us from the Oval Office. I guess he's going to, you know, finally.
Starting point is 00:01:46 It could be a marionette. You know, it could be a literal marionette. I was going to say Obama is above the Oval Office, you know, working the strings of the puppet. So it's going to be interesting to see how they sync up the jaw with the sound coming out. It's very hard. But I think it's going to be a Mr. Rogers kind of set. They'll make up, you know, Scrant and Joe will come in on a train, you know, he'll pop out with the strings on top.
Starting point is 00:02:11 It'll be like Mr. Rogers. Yeah, it's going to be just like Mr. Rogers and King Friday the 13th. I believe he's going to be making an appearance. Oh, fantastic. X the owl. It's going to be some fun times tonight in the quote-unquote White House. So anyway, it's always like you're going to watch it just to see what kind of a train wreck it's going to be. Like what's going to happen?
Starting point is 00:02:40 What's he going to say? Can he say it? Can he read the teleprompter? Not going to be, you know, not something I think we could take for granted at this point. They used to say like, oh, he's just reading the teleprompter. Well, now he can no longer do that. So it's really, I don't know what to say, but that's tonight. A couple things I want to mention.
Starting point is 00:03:00 I don't want to forget. This weekend, I will be in Florida, West Palm Beach. I guess it's a T.P. USA Turning Point Believers Summit. I'm going to be speaking there. I believe President Trump is going to make an appearance. I don't know if I'll get to shake his hand, but I got to tell you, I'm looking forward to that. As you know, we're big fans of Turning Point on this program. I also want to say that yesterday I recorded a whole hour talking about the theory of Paul, the Apostle Paul, being shipwrecked in Cephalonia, Cephalonia, the Greek island where my family are from.
Starting point is 00:03:48 It's astonishing stuff. It is absolutely so. So we will play that. I think we'll play that toward the end of the week, if not tomorrow, then on Friday. but it is an amazing story. And what I did yesterday, I put it online. I translated the article written about this. Now, the article was written in 1988.
Starting point is 00:04:10 And part of the reason that I find this so exciting is like this information comes out. A book's published in 1987. This article is published in 1988, but nobody knows about it. And I see this over and over and over again. This information comes out. You look at it. You go, this is real. This is true.
Starting point is 00:04:27 This is exciting. writing, nobody knows about it. So when I wrote my book, if you can, sorry, when I wrote my book, is atheism dead, it's the same thing. I said, there's all this evidence, mind-blowing evidence for the existence of God. It's mind-blowing. It's science effectively proving the existence of God. There's no other explanation. It's compelling. It's amazing. It's true. It comes out every day. There's more evidence. But no one knows about it. So I wrote a book called Is Atheism Dead? I said, I got to get this information out there. But you write a book and not everybody reads books.
Starting point is 00:05:00 Not most people I haven't heard of the book. What? Who? Who's Eric Metaxis? So it's fascinating to me the way information comes out or doesn't come out. And this is the classic case with Paul being shipwrecked in Cephalonia. Nobody knows about this. But if you read the article, which I posted on my website, you just, unless I'm missing something, it's pretty open and shut.
Starting point is 00:05:22 I mean, the evidence just piles up and up and up and up. It's not like, well, there's one idea. There's two ideas. It's really crazy stuff. So we'll be airing that this week. Yesterday, I sent out an email with a link to the article. So if you're signed up at Ericmetaxis.com, you got that. Now, the first link didn't work.
Starting point is 00:05:41 So we quickly sent an oops, the link didn't work email. So the second email that should work. But this is something that I feel very passionate about, that whenever I find information like this, I say I want to get it out there. A very similar thing has happened to, which I've mentioned on this program again, with the discovery of the actual location of Homeric Ithaca, right? You've heard me talk about this, that Heinrich Schliemann found all these other Mycenaean places mentioned in Homer, but he could never find Homeric Ithaca. There was nothing. And, you know, once you figure out, oh, this is the answer.
Starting point is 00:06:20 The question is, does anybody know about it? I've also mentioned the story of my friend Michael Ward, who discovered that the seven Narnia Chronicles, each of the Narnia Chronicles corresponds to one of these seven medieval planets. Once you see this, you can't unsee it. It's just nuts. It's just exciting stuff. So anyway, so the article is about Paul in Cephalonia, not being shipwrecked in Malta. That article is posted on my website. I put it on Twitter.
Starting point is 00:06:51 We're getting it out there. Chris, what else do we have to talk about before we go to our guests? I think I'm, I'll just say this and you can respond, but I do not believe that if Barack Obama has not endorsed Kamala Harris, he's hanging back. He wants to put forward, unless, I mean, by the time this airs today, because we're recording this in the morning, but by the time this airs, he may have endorsed her. but if he hasn't endorsed her, you've got to ask why. You've got to ask, how is he working behind the scenes?
Starting point is 00:07:30 Because he's got a different idea. And a lot of people are saying it's going to be Michelle Obama. So I don't know. Well, yeah, I mean, it's interesting because Kamala got endorsed immediately by the Clintons, which, you know, I think it was Kelsey Gabert, who came out recently saying that Hillary Clinton would sort of be the puppet master of Kamala moving forward. So I don't know.
Starting point is 00:07:51 It seems like there's some internal tug of war on whose puppet belongs to whom. That's, that's creepy. Yeah. Creepy. Yeah, I don't know. Camala doesn't strike me as a marionette type. She's more of a, of a dump, the dummy kind, you know, the howdy duty, you know, that kind of, that kind of puppet. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:08:14 On your knee, the mouth moves up and down with the, you know, the cackle. It's so bizarre. I mean, look, there are a lot of people coming out on the internet, you know, like Naomi Wolf and our friend Pichi Keehanen. And they're saying, just attack Kamala Harris on her policies because she is radically left. I mean, she is as leftist. She was the most left senator in the Senate. Now, you think about that for a second. This is a connect.
Starting point is 00:08:40 Her father, now Naomi Wolf tweeted something about this this morning. Kamala Harris's father was an openly Marxist. professor, openly, proudly Marxist. Amazing. Because you look at Barack Obama, he was hanging out with Marxists, you know, and his father, if you read Dreams of My Father, was an America-hating anti-colonialist Marxist. I mean, it's really fascinating that this stuff doesn't come out. They just say, oh, she's so nice.
Starting point is 00:09:16 And it's like, no, her father was a Marxist. intellectual. And she was the most liberal person in the Senate of 100 senators, the most liberal. And her policies in California, dramatically liberal. So I think it's going to be tough for her. But, you know, it's crazy. It remains to be seen. All right, folks, when we come back, my first guest is John Graves. Absolutely fascinating. My second guest, equally fascinating. Adam Angievsky. Don't go away. As promised, my guest in this hour is Adam Angievsky.
Starting point is 00:12:16 Did I get it right? Adam Angievsky, did I pronounce it right? You nailed it, Eric. It's not easy being an Angiefsky. that's for sure. Oh, I hear you, man. I was once an Angie-Fski just for a weekend, and I got to tell you, it was very tough, but you've got it your whole life. You've been an Angievski. Now, seriously, you, I want to talk to you about a number of things. Where do we start? Do we start with Kamala Harris? I don't think I mentioned, well, tonight from the Oval Office, something like Joe Biden. It might be Joe himself.
Starting point is 00:12:51 I don't know, is going to be talking. There's been this coronation of Kamala Harris. It seems utterly preposterous to me. I have to say, like if you could pick the worst candidate. So I think Obama is waiting back in the weeds like a bass, and he's going to come out and say, you know, I don't think there's just something weird going on that he has not, you know, he has not backed, he has not stood up for Kamala Harris, which makes me think he's got another plan to push forward, Michelle.
Starting point is 00:13:27 I don't know what you think about that, but we're going to talk, I guess, about Kamala. Yeah, so our auditors at Open the Books.com, we took a look at her payrolls. And Eric, this is the information that Kamala Harris never wanted any of us to talk about. About two years ago, we filed the Freedom of Information Act request with her office, the office of vice president, her payroll information, even for her budget information. And they responded, they rejected our requests. They responded that they're not subject to the federal Sunshine laws, the Freedom of Information Act laws. You know, the people's right to know. So, you know, they claim using a Clinton era Department of Justice memo from the middle 1990s that they're not a federal agency, so they're not subject to the FOIA laws. We vehemently disagree. She's the only.
Starting point is 00:14:17 elected public official in the entire country that we can tell. And we filed 55,000 FOIAs last year. We have 26 million public employee salaries on our website at OpenTheBooks.com. Hold on a second. She's the only elected public official. I just want to interrupt. You're a maniac. That's my highest compliment. You filed 55,000 Freedom of Information Act requests last year. Did you say that correctly? Is that right? Yes, on nearly every single essential public body in this entire country.
Starting point is 00:14:56 And we captured an historic first, nearly every dime and taxed and spent at every level. But we haven't cracked the office of vice president yet. Okay, so people can find you at openthebooks.com. But listen, I'm just in love with what you're doing. It's just so wonderful. It is citizen activism. It's extraordinary.
Starting point is 00:15:14 So openthebooks.com. you're living this you did it 55,000 uh freedom of information act requests last year but the vice president's office said net it doesn't apply to us so what happened she's the least transparent elected official in the entire country okay so she's the president of the senate we wanted her payrolls we wanted her vendor spending we wanted to be able to follow taxpayer money in her office and so what we figured out was the even though they're not subject to FOIA, they disclose their payrolls. They disclose their vendor spending and mixed in with the Senate's payrolls is the Office of Vice President
Starting point is 00:15:58 payrolls. And so we crunched the numbers and we found that from her first year to today, she has turned over an incredible and stunning 92% of her payroll. Out of her first year higher, she had 47, there's only four people that are still on our staff over the course the last three years. Okay, so hang on, just to clarify in case people didn't get this, you were able to determine that Kamala Harris's office, just over the last three and a half years, has a 92% dropout rate. 92% of the people who started working for her are gone. Yeah, it's particularly stunning. Now, this has been covered across mainstream national media over the course the last two and a half years.
Starting point is 00:16:48 Like Axios did a report, and what they found was people were leaving her staff even in her first year because they did not want to be labeled as a Harris person. People did not think that she had a future in politics. She's the sitting vice president of the United States, one heartbeat away from the president, and basically nobody wanted to work. for her. Her office was in that much chaos. I mean, that's pretty big news. It's interesting because these are people that, I mean, if you're working for the vice president, the assumption would be that these people wanted to work for the vice president. These people are on board with the Biden Harris policies. In other words, it's not you and me and my audience here. This is people that are already on board.
Starting point is 00:17:38 with these policies, and they did not want to work with her so badly that you get this figure of 92%. So that's, I mean, that's fascinating on a number of levels. I guess I wonder, is it because she's personally unpleasant to work for? Or is it just because, as you said, they just looked at the situation and said, this person is going nowhere. I'm going to find somebody with a future in politics so I can ride their coattails. Yeah, I mean, you know, national news media like the Atlantic, they characterized her office staff as a revolving door, that there was a staff exodus. They said, quote, unquote, it's top to bottom dysfunction. You know, in her first year, she lost nearly all our executive staff over the course of her first 18 months. She lost her chief of staff. She lost her communications director. She lost her nationality advisor, domestic policy advisor.
Starting point is 00:18:34 and obviously 43 out of 47 employees. And Eric, I want to put this in context. So you remember the Trump years. You know, Trump came in cold. He didn't have a deep repository to pull from. He put together a staff. He was hit by all kinds of different, quote-unquote, scandals from the outside that never materialized. Trump had a 72% turnover in his first three years.
Starting point is 00:19:00 Joe Biden spent 50 years in politics. We crunched his numbers on the release of the White House paper. payroll two weeks ago, he's had a 77% turnover, and his vice president, Kamala Harris, has a 92% turnover. Now, this would never happen at 92% in the private sector. Yesterday, I had our in-house CPA at OpenTheBooks.com pull our turnover over the course of the last three years from January 2021 through the first quarter of 2024 this year. And we retained 88% of our employees. On my audit team, I run the audit function.
Starting point is 00:19:37 We open the books. We audit the books. The audits make national news. I run audits. We had 100% retention on my team. Like, this would never happen in the private sector. If you turned over 92% of your employees, you'd be out of business. It's very interesting fact.
Starting point is 00:19:57 In other words, this is like, this is information, I should say. Very interesting information because you get a lot of other kinds of information. but this is something it just would never occur to me. So when I heard that you had looked into this, I said, it's just telling. I mean, that's very, very high. It's kind of amazing. So openthebooks.com, how did this get started?
Starting point is 00:20:24 What is your story, Adam, Angievsky? How did you get into this? What's your background? So my background is one of being a, a businessman, a family man, a private sector entrepreneur, and now a public policy entrepreneur. So I live right here in Illinois, Eric, it is the Super Bowl of Corruption. If anything happens when they go to the people in my state on public policy and politics, it's entirely by accident.
Starting point is 00:20:56 And so we just started here. We started opening the books in Illinois-specific, Illinois-centric, back in 2011. We posted for the first time the pay and pensions of virtually every single public employee at every level in my state. And immediately it led to an indictment. There was a school treasurer whose pay went from $164,000 up to $296,000 in one year. The activists in their area saw this in our payrolls. They brought it forward. He was eventually indicted for stealing $2 million dollars by cashing in vacation days and other days, sick days, without board approval. And he was sentenced to time in the state penitentiary.
Starting point is 00:21:40 So just in our first week, we had an indictment. I mean, it's just fantastic. The website is openthebooks.com. And if people go there, what are they fine? What do you have there? So we have basically every dime taxed and spent, almost not. quite, but almost at every level in the country. Eric, this is an historic first. So I don't care if it's your local school district, your county. We've got everyone's paycheck. So if you work
Starting point is 00:22:12 for government, your name, oftentimes your position title, how much you made last year, that's on our website. And we've got this unique search tool called Benjamin. It's named after Benjamin Franklin. You know, Franklin leaves the constitutional convention. He's asked by a constituent, Dr. Franklin, what do we have here? and he says it's a republic if you can keep it. This is the American experiment. It rests on you, the citizen, the individual. You know, we instituted the government to secure our God-given rights.
Starting point is 00:22:43 And so now, finally, and we think Benjamin Franklin would be very proud. We've un-silowed all government spending so everybody can take a look so you can follow the money. Adam, forgive me, forgive me for interrupting. We're going to a break. We'll be right back. We're going to pick up on this, as you can guess. Don't go away. Hey, this is Eric Mettaxas. Adam Angioski from the Chicago area, who's the head of OpenTheBooks.com. You, Adam, you know, didn't realize it, but when you bring up Benjamin Franklin's quote
Starting point is 00:25:25 or Republic, Madam, if you can keep it, that's the title of my book, if you can keep it, which really gets into a lot of the stuff that we're talking about here. The way America's supposed to work, what self-government means, we have forgotten over the decades. We've drifted and drifted and drifted so that there are plenty people that they, I mean, the way for self-government to die is for people to just get a little cynical and just to back away, not to be involved. If you're not involved, if you don't care, if you think they're all corrupt and there's nothing you can do. You have become part of the problem. And that's exactly what Franklin is getting at
Starting point is 00:26:01 when he says, if you can keep it. In other words, you, which is to say, we the people, have to be involved in keeping the republic. We have to do stuff. We have to demand transparency. We have to demand that these elected officials do our bidding. Our bidding. We are the government. We, the people. And you know, you're leading the way in this. It's beautiful to hear what you're doing. So you were just making some points and I'm annotating, but please go ahead from what you were at the point you were making before we went to our break. Yeah, it's gotten so bad. And I think everybody listening to the program today will fundamentally agree with this statement. They actually think we work for them. And that's upside down. They work for us. But here's the deal,
Starting point is 00:26:49 Eric. The underlying law in this country is still good. We have to use our rights or we're going to lose our rights, and we believe that it starts with a transparency revolution. We believe transparency revolutionizes United States public policy and politics, but you got to take a look. Come to open thebooks.com. Just right in your local school district, just start there. You know, if you review the payrolls, you will have questions. Take those questions to the administration, and oftentimes the answers to your questions will need to go to a board meeting. You know, And if they don't ask your question, you need to network friends and family. We've worked up to 500 constituents into board meetings before to get answers to hard questions when you follow the money.
Starting point is 00:27:36 And that process in Illinois with a pair of watchdogs downstate, they're called the Edgar County watchdogs, that has forced out over 600 public officials in Illinois who have fled in the face of aggressive transparency and questions. This is funny. I mean, this is just funny to me because it's like, all you have to do is try to hold them accountable and they run. You know, that's what you're saying. It's so dirty. Now again, we're talking about Chicago. I mean, I've got to ask you that, you know, you know that Barack and Michelle, they are the consummate Chicago backroom, you know, war machine.
Starting point is 00:28:18 It's so fascinating to me. I alluded to this earlier. What do you suppose is going on? I mean, for Barack Obama not to endorse Kamala Harris, that is really telling. That is really, really telling. It's stunning that, I mean, I was stunned that the Clintons, especially Hillary Clinton, would endorse Kamala Harris. I would have thought that Hillary Clinton would have said, hey, this is my turn.
Starting point is 00:28:45 And that, you know, bubble-headed DEI hire, she's not going to be the first woman president. I'm going to be the first woman president. and I was pushed out over and over. It's my turn. I'm just astonished that the Clinton somehow did this. Do you have any sense of what's going on? I mean, you're in Chicago. Yeah, so we really don't.
Starting point is 00:29:04 I, you know, at OpenTheBooks.com, we're a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization. And what we like to say is just the facts, no spin. We don't need PR. We just put the facts forward. And that's why our report, I think on Kamala Harris is so important. on her staff turnover at 92% because it's just so out of the box. And so then you have to ask the question, why, why are they pushing somebody who had a very difficult time running her vice presidential payroll?
Starting point is 00:29:35 And I think the American people are smart enough when they see all the facts to come to their own conclusions and make their own decisions. I'm mystified by it. I don't think a party gets more than two hops, two steps here. they've already used to, it looks like, with pushing Biden out of the race. And it looks like the entire universe has come to support Harris. So they've used up their two steps. Can they go to a third step?
Starting point is 00:30:02 That's, I think it would be a leap. Well, what's interesting to me is that, you know, you say they've used up a second step. But even this is, it's murky, you know, because you're all about transparency. This is sort of murky. Who decided? How does that work? And what are the rules? So it is murky, and I suspect because Joe, I'm sorry, because Barack Obama has pointedly, at least as of this radio program that we're doing today, Wednesday, the fact that Obama has said nothing to support Harris means it is not clear that she's going to be the nominee.
Starting point is 00:30:44 So we don't know what's going to happen. But in any event, this is not your area of focus. You are nonpartisan, and you're just trying to bring the facts to light. But it's just sort of funny to me that when you say you want to bring the facts to light, it says a lot about people whether they want the facts to come to light or don't. And you're dealing with, I mean, it's just interesting that Kamala Harris's office gave you such a hard time. What are you asking? You're asking for public information.
Starting point is 00:31:15 Yeah, basic information. information. And what we've seen from the Biden administration from Harris's office of vice president, quite simply, is a war on transparency. You know, during the pandemic, we had to sue the National Institutes of Health six times just to get to the bottom of the Fauci family finances. So, Eric, if you've heard... Forgive me. We're going to another break. When we come back, I want to talk to you about this exactly. Folks, don't go away talking to Adam Angiefsky with Openthebooks.com. before deciding what to do. Hey, folks, welcome.
Starting point is 00:32:11 Adam Angievsky. And I said it right, Adam Angievsky. Adam, let me ask you, first of all, you said that you watched me when I was on Jordan Peterson. I watched you when you were on Russell Brand. So it's kind of interesting that people like you and me are reaching the audiences of a Russell Brand and of a Jordan Peterson. It's interesting.
Starting point is 00:32:33 It gives me hope for the country, in a sense, there's some good cross-pollination going on. But I want to get back to what you said before. We went to the break. Fauci, the deep state. How does OpenTheBooks.com, you know, what have you done with regard to Fauci and the National Institutes of Health? So with Dr. Anthony Fauci, if you know the fact that he was the number one most highly compensated
Starting point is 00:32:57 federal employee during the pandemic and up to the pandemic, 100%. I broke that in my then. column at Forbes. That column got over a million views. We, we filed, you know, people wanted, you know, they had questions, how, how can a director of a subagency of a sub agency of health and human services out earn everybody, roughly four million federal bureaucrats across the entire complex? And so the answer to that question, we had to file six federal lawsuits versus NIH because they refused to answer our Freedom of Information Act requests at the height of the pandemic. And so here's the answer. He was, he was given back in 2000.
Starting point is 00:33:34 a permanent pay hike because he was tip of the spear on biodefense. So in other words, he was paid the most because he was charged with preventing the next pandemic and he obviously failed. We then followed all that and we quantified his pension, which is the largest in federal history. We quantified his large spike and family net worth during the pandemic, whereas net worth went from $7 million to north of $12 million. If you saw all of the third party royalty back and forth in Congress, including this June when Fauci was finally in the hot seat again under oath, all of that oversight on third party royalties, that comes out of our federal lawsuits where our legal partner is judicial watch. Unbelievable. Absolutely unbelievable. You were going to segue into the deep state. So with the, this is where the Biden administration really has a war on transparency. So in the last year of the Obama years, there was less than 3,000 names redacted from the rank and file federal payrolls, 123 agencies, the alphabet soup of federal agencies outside of the Department of Defense in the post office.
Starting point is 00:34:53 And under Joe Biden, there's now 350,000 names. names redacted from the federal payrolls. And Eric, these aren't spies. These aren't intelligence officers. There's already a security shield preventing the release of their names, of course. These are rank and file federal employees that work for places like health and human services, like the Social Security Administration, like, you know, the IRS. And we can't see 350 names.
Starting point is 00:35:24 We can't, we don't even know where 280,000 of these employees are. where their work location is because they're blacking that out, they're redacting that as well. So think about this. It's a where's Waldo of the federal bureaucracy. We don't know who's working by name, where they're working, and I'll submit to you, we don't know what they're doing. Okay, so what we're talking about, you know, if people are hiding things in a country like America, you know that they're not hiding things for no reason. They're afraid of we the people finding out what's going on. That is the death of democracy, to quote the Democrats who keep talking about the death of democracy.
Starting point is 00:36:07 This is the death of democracy. We the people are entitled, as you know, better than anybody, to have all of this information. So what kind of a picture does this give us? It's like we are already being ruled by a faceless, unelected, who, and this is the thing that keeps coming to me lately, they have deep contempt. They have contempt for American citizens. The way they treat us by hiding information, by not, we saw the other day Kimberly Cheatel, the contempt to not answer these questions.
Starting point is 00:36:47 I want to be clear, folks, we're talking about deep contempt. They don't even seem to be able to hide it anymore, that they couldn't care less what you think. As far as they're concerned, they're in control, and you just shut up and do what you're told. And no, you're not going to get answers. No, you don't deserve answers. They are at war. They are at war with we the people. And you're giving us the details when you talk about 350,000.
Starting point is 00:37:17 I mean, it's actually mind-bending. And if anybody wants to know, I mean, if you know nothing else, then that the current administration is behaving this way, you'd have to say, why would they be behaving this way? This is not the way it's not healthy. This is not the way good people, innocent people behave. Innocent people say, here, look at the books. Here, look. They're doing just the opposite. They are. And it even goes down into the states. So it opened the books.com. We never quit, Eric. We keep digging, Klein. We keep digging. We keep digging. inclined. So it actually took us 10 years to break open the California State Checkbook. And we even filed a lawsuit. It's our only transparency, Sunshine lawsuit we've ever lost. A judge in the Sacramento Superior Court said that the burden to produce the checkbook outweighed the public benefit. That's actually impossible. It's the most important public record where they spent our money last year and all the previous years. But anyway, we filed our record. We filed our record.
Starting point is 00:38:19 request on the 440 state agencies individually. They all produced their record and we compiled the checkbook like a jigsaw puzzle. And we wanted to answer the question where the governor Newsom was engaging in a highly unethical practice of soliciting state vendors for campaign cash. And we found that he quietly solicited about a thousand companies, their executives, their key employees. He received millions and now, I think, $7 million. worth of campaign donations, and those companies in one year received, I think it was $11 billion
Starting point is 00:38:55 worth of- This is the definition of corruption. That is the definition. How can he still be in office what you just said? That's just to me. At arm's length in the state of California, pay-to-play is legal. So if you don't explicitly, you know, if it's in arm's length, you know, if there's a contract that goes over here and a campaign donation that goes over there, if they're not connected, it's legal in the state of California. I want to point out, it's not legal in Illinois.
Starting point is 00:39:25 After Blagojevich was indicted on pay-to-play charges, they changed the state law. If you're a state vendor with a $50,000 contract, you can't give in the state races. Since then, we've not had an Illinois governor go to jail. California needs that law. I'm afraid we're out of time. Just to joy Adam Engiefski to speak with you. God bless you. Folks check out Openthebooks.com. Thank you. Hey there, folks. I want to tell you about what I put up on my website regarding whether the Bible is wrong. We know the Bible is not ever wrong.
Starting point is 00:40:22 But, well, you know what? I'm not going to explain this until I tell you two things. First of all, I want to talk about one of our sponsors, Americans for Prosperity. They, at Americans for Prosperity, have put up a new website. It's called Secure Border, Secure America. dot com. I think the folks in Americans for Prosperity, they're on the same page as we are. We understand that, you know, the government, we're supposed to be the government, right? We, the people, are supposed to be activist citizens. And we know that the government under Kamala Harris,
Starting point is 00:40:57 as the borders are. I mean, what a joke. They're not doing anything. So Americans for Prosperity, foundation has taken hundreds of concerned citizens to see the border for themselves, turning them into informed activists. This is what America's all about, right? So Americans for Prosperity knows what is needed. For one thing, more border agents, more walls, more technology. But also, Americans getting involved. Like, we the people have to be, we have to be involved in this kind of stuff. So anyway, I mentioned that Americans for Prosperity has announced a campaign to hold Biden and his allies accountable for the crisis at the border. You can find more about it at secure border, secure America.com.
Starting point is 00:41:42 Secureborder, secure America.com. Actually, before I tell you about how the Bible could be wrong, let me also mention our friends at the Herzog Foundation. These guys are heroes. If you're interested in the possibility of homeschooling and you should be, if you have kids. Or if you're interested simply in quality Christ-centered K-312 education, which doesn't necessarily need to be homeschooling, you need to visit our friends at Herzog Foundation.com. Herzog Foundation.com. Their vision is for families and culture to flourish through quality
Starting point is 00:42:18 Christian education, making the ecosystems of Christian education more accessible and sustainable for families across the nation. I am a real cheerleader. for the Herzog Foundation. Check them out, Hertzog Foundation.com. Okay, so can the Bible be wrong? I like asking a cheeky question like that because you know that I don't believe the Bible can be wrong. It's the inspired word of God, but translations can mess stuff up.
Starting point is 00:42:46 And I think I've mentioned it on this program. I will go in depth into this, I think, next week. But in the passage in the book of Acts, where it talks about Paul being shipwrecked on Malta, Malta, right? That's the Italian island of Malta. That is wrong. The Bible say Malta. But the original New Testament documents, the Greek, does not say Malta. It says Meliti. And a lot of people just assumed it was Malta. For a while, they assumed it was an island way up in the Adriatic just off of Croatia. But about 100 years ago, they settled on Malta. So now all the Bible say Malta. But it's not Malta. It's actually Kefalonia or Cephalonia. That's the island where my father grew up, where I
Starting point is 00:43:29 just last week. And it's absolutely fascinating. So I published, I translated the article. There's an article that was written about it. There's a whole book that's written about it. But there was an article that was written about the book, which was written in German. The book's written in German. The article's written in German. I translated the article into English and posted it at my website. Please read the article. You need to know. It's absolutely fascinating because the guy who solved the problem, his name is Werner. I'm sorry, his name is Heinz Varneke. Heinz Varneke, this German scholar, figured this out. He wrote a book about in 1987, an article was written about in 1988. And it doesn't just show that Paul was
Starting point is 00:44:15 shipwrecked in Cephalonia, not in Malta. But what he figures out solves all kinds of other problems people had in interpreting the scriptures. I mean, it's fascinating. He just proves the scripture is true. So you can find the article at ericmetaxis.com under my writings, ericmetaxis.com. Paul was shipwreck not in Malta, but in Cephalonia, Cephalonia. Amazing stuff. Check it out.
