Ladies and gentlemen, are you ready to listen to a man of grace, sophistication, integrity, and whimsy?
Well, so are we. But until such a man shows up, please welcome Eric Mat, Texas.
Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the program. As you know, I am a self-described Jesus freak. I believe all that crazy stuff.
I believe the Bible is the word of God. I believe God is real.
He's alive. He speaks to us. He wants to speak to us. He wants us to have a relationship with him. All that crazy stuff. I firmly believe it. And every now and again, I'll have somebody else on the program who also is crazy enough firmly to believe these crazy but true things. Today, I'm thrilled to have as my guest, Beatty Carmichael. He's the author of a book called The Prayer of Freedom. Beatty, welcome.
Well, thank you, Eric. I'm excited about being here.
Well, there's a lot to talk about.
And I think that sometimes I feel like there are many people who they think of themselves as people of faith, Christians, but they've never touched the deeper stuff.
They kind of think, oh, that's extra credit or that's for people who really are into that stuff.
It's like, no, ladies and gentlemen, this is called reality.
This is like saying, I'm not interested in math because I don't need it.
Well, you need arithmetic and multiplication to survive.
This is just basic reality stuff.
And God wants us to know him and to know what it means to walk with him.
And it's for everybody.
And so that's one of the reasons, Beatty, that I wanted you on.
You've written a book called The Prayer of Freedom.
But tell us about yourself and your story.
What is your story?
Where did you grow up?
And how did you come to be doing what you're doing right now?
Yeah.
So it's actually a pretty interesting story, at least from my perspective.
I grew up in Birmingham, Alabama.
In fact, one of my great-great-uncles was part of the real estate company that laid out the grid of Birmingham.
So we have real deep roots here.
And I come from a line of seven generations of medical doctors.
So my whole lineage has been healing and helping people get better.
I went into business, and then about nine or ten years ago, God called me into healing,
but in a slightly unique way, he got to.
gave me a gift of healing. I started praying for people. Initially, a third of the people I prayed
for were being instantly healed. And within a year, about 90% of those people were now being healed.
Everything from deaf fears to sciatica to hernias and just everything. I have to interrupt,
just to make the point that to most people, this will seem unbelievable. It will seem impossible.
seem literally incredible.
I have no doubt that God heals today and that he uses some people particularly effectively
in this area.
My friend Ken Fish, you and I were talking about him off the air a moment ago.
He's one of those people.
But I understand the doubt that many people have.
They say, listen, I'd love to believe that, but I just don't see.
see it. That is an extraordinary thing you were saying that, you know, to have so many people being
healed. When did, I mean, you said you're a medical doctor. My lineage is medical doctor. I never
went into medicine. Okay. So you, so you were not yourself a medical doctor, but you're very
familiar with that world. Yes. And so what were you doing in life before this,
God gave you the gift of healing? I was in marketing. I'm a small business entrepreneur,
and we do marketing for real estate agents to help them get listings.
So totally shift from getting listings to helping people get healed.
Okay, but you're a Christian.
Very much.
Have you been a Christian your whole life?
Since high school, yeah.
Okay, so you've been serious about God.
And did you believe in the miraculous and healing all along, or did something happen more recently?
I went to a large megachurch.
it's a very conservative denomination, and they did not believe that God heals today. Now, they believe
that God can heal and sometimes will, but not through the prayer of a single person, what I'll call a
gift of healing. So when God started to put on my heart about nine or ten years ago to start
praying for healing, it really wasn't anything that I had a grid for. It took me six months to
figure out, did God really want people healed? Because, you know, we used to pray in our church,
church, Lord, heal this person if it be your will, which means maybe it's God's will that someone be sick.
And that was the paradigm that I came through. So after about six months of just really intense study
on what does God's words say about healing, I came to the conclusion that God truly did want his people
healed. And when I got the guts up to actually start walking up to strangers October 2016 and started praying for people,
a third of them were being healed, mostly pain, sciatica, lupus, arthritis, RSD, things of that sort, torn ligaments,
and then over time it expanded.
I mean, again, this is even for someone like me, the idea that a third of the people for whom you pray would be healed, that's dramatic, you know, if that's true.
which I know it is, because you're not lying, that's dramatic.
And what was it at the time that suddenly you felt that God had given you this gift?
Because I think I want to be clear, folks, we all, God calls us all to pray for this and for that,
but he does give particular people particular gifts, just as he gives any one of us natural gifts
and other people don't get those natural gifts.
You know, I have gifts as a writer or as a speaker.
You know, most of my relatives don't have those gifts.
We all get weird things, gifts from God.
And my friend Ken Fish and you, Beatty Carmichael, my guest right now, God has given
you a gift.
When did you perceive that you had this gift?
So I didn't perceive it until October 2016, but six months prior to that, I started watching
on Netflix of all places, a docu series of the Holy Spirit working through people's lives today.
And the majority of that was just some guy with a camera following people around in the public
places and they would pray for people and those people would be healed.
And it startled me.
And there was like this deep burning deep inside my heart that says, I want it.
And I couldn't get enough of it.
I started pursuing every single of the docu series.
I started pursuing other things.
And I'm sure you probably have been.
experience when something when God grabs a hold of you it just won't it just won't let go and so you keep
pressing in and then I went to an event and they said you know we pray for you know had the
holy spirit come and he said if your fingers tingled that means you have the gift of healing my
fingers were tingling so I went out that day and tried it for the first time and sure enough
people started getting healed that's when I realized I had a gift of healing well
But God took it away.
What's that?
God took it away.
Yeah, we're going to talk about it.
How long did you have this gift for?
And then why did God take it away?
That's very confusing to me.
What do you mean?
Yeah.
So I had it for about six years.
So all this was a training.
I'll call it training wheels.
You know, before you learn to truly ride a bike, you have training wheels to figure out the basics.
And he took me into with a gift of healing and then also deliverance, casting out demons.
So I was doing that simultaneously.
simultaneously. And I started to realize that when you cast a demon out and the sickness or the
issue instantly disappeared when the demon would leave, that as I was praying for people and if
glaucoma left or if arthritis left or whatever it was, it was, I just had a sense of my heart. It was
a spiritual entity that was leaving the same way as it is with deliverance. So I started to see this
pattern that most of the issues that we deal with are not physical by causation.
their spiritual causation with a physical manifestation.
And as you get the spiritual issue out,
then the physical manifestation would leave.
So it was about three years ago,
I'd go out to Walmart on Saturdays,
and I'd go pray for people.
And on this one Saturday,
90% of the people I pray for were being instantly healed.
And then within two weeks,
it went down to like 10% or nothing.
And it startled me.
And I was asking God, I said, what just happened?
He said, I took away your gift of healing.
And I said, why did you do that?
It was helping so many people.
And he said, because now I want you to learn to do it by authority.
And having come through deliverance, I understood what authority was.
It's taking away the legal right of either demonic or some sort of a evil type spirit.
Okay, hang on.
We're going to go to a break.

talking about, Beatty, I'm very familiar with this, but I think a lot of people listening to the
program will not be familiar with this. And ladies and gentlemen, this is very important. This is
basic stuff. You were talking just now about how sometimes we can have in our persons a place.
given a place to the enemy, to demonic entities, and they have a legal right. So let's say,
I'm just going to throw this out there. Let's say I have tremendous unforgiveness. I have allowed
myself to hate someone for very legitimate reasons. They raped me when I was a child. They abused
my mother. They did something horrible. And I hate them. God's
says you have to forgive. If you don't, the enemy has a legal right to come in. You've given him a
place to come in because of your unrepentant sin that is there. Now, this is again, very basic,
but this is the concept. So Bady, Carmichael, tell us more about this, that at some point, God,
you said he took away this amazing gift of healing.
How many gift of healing that you'd pray for people that he could heal?
Right.
So he took it away.
And when I was asking him, why?
He said,
No, I'm sorry.
How many years,
how many years roughly did you have the gift?
I had about six years, six to six and a half.
So 2016 to about 2022.
Roughly, yes.
Okay.
And so God takes.
it away, you ask him why, and he says, because I now want to teach you something, and he starts
talking to you about what you just started talking about. Yeah, he said he wanted me to now do
healing through authority rather than through gifting. And authority is different. See, gifting is,
I simply command the healing, and God then causes the healing to happen. But authority is where
you lead someone in a prayer of confession or repentance, and the healing occurs. And the healing occurs.
as a byproduct of that.
If I can back up and share how deliverance works,
this will make a little bit easier for your listeners.
So in deliverance, in the traditional form that I was taught,
it's a four-step process.
So as I'm working with someone,
the first thing you do is you identify the demon spirit by name.
Usually you ask the Lord, bring up the first demon
that you want me to identify.
And that spirit will usually speak in the person's mind,
and that person is now relaying it to me.
So like one guy, his name was, I'm working with Josh, and the first demon that comes up is a guy named Seth.
So then step number two is you in-
I'm sorry, did you say, you said you're talking to a guy named Josh?
Yes.
And you ask him while you're praying for him.
I'm saying, Lord.
You're trying to identify the demon.
Right.
And you say that Josh in his mind gets the word, the name Seth.
That's correct.
Okay.
So the name of the demon, which is bizarre, is Seth?
I don't understand that.
Go ahead.
It's bizarre.
So, like, I've seen demon names from Lucifer to Son of Satan to Seth and Marcus and all kinds of silly things like that.
So that's a lot of times how they do it.
They carry a name just like us because we're a spiritual person in a physical body, but the person of who we are is our soul.
And it says in Ephesians 612 that our battle is not against people of flesh and blood.
but against persons without bodies.
That's the Living Bible Translation.
And so they're a person, just like you and me, the only difference is they have no physical body
and they're entirely evil.
But they give themselves a name.
I don't know how they do it.
But when you call them up, when you ask the Lord to call up the demon spirit,
then the Holy Spirit is the one that's prompting that spirit to have to acknowledge himself.
So he'll acknowledge himself, usually in the person's mind.
A couple of times I've seen where the demon's,
takes over the person's physical body and actually speaks himself. But in this particular case,
this one that I'm sharing, he calls himself Seth. And so you interrogate Seth. That's the second
step. And sometimes you'll find out, you know, what's your right to be there? I mean, what's your
role while you're there? But I asked Seth, what is your legal right? And in the demonic world,
you always have to have a legal right because everything that God is built in the spiritual realm
is based on his laws and his rules,
and the demons cannot violate that.
So there has to be a legal right
that one of these spirits has to torment a person.
So when I asked Seth what the legal right was,
he said, Josh played with a Ouija board at seven years old.
Okay, now, hang on.
I'm always aware the people in my audience
for whom this is old hat are annoyed
because Eric is interrupting.
I get.
But I don't care about you.
I care about the people who don't understand this,
and because this is really important stuff.
I get all this.
I have been in the deliverance sessions.
I have seen this.
My friend Ken Fish and others have done this stuff and my friend Matt Bennett.
And I see it and I get it.
And it's amazing and fascinating.
But I know a lot of people are just thinking, wow.
Because what you're talking about, Beatty, presupposes that the person praying like you,
you're doing deliverance, that you have the spiritual gifting to hear.
from God to be able to command this demon to give you answers.
This is not so easy, but you obviously have the ability to do this.
This is real.
But I just want people to understand that, you know, what the premises are and what we're
talking about.
So you are speaking to the demon and you're saying, I command you to tell me by what
authority you are here in this person, Josh.
What authority do you have?
And you said that the demon said to you that Josh, when he was seven years old, play with a Ouija board.
Now, my question, these are all very practical questions.
Did the demons speak through Josh's mouth, or was this something that you heard in your spirit?
So I'm not hearing it in my spirit.
I'm totally blind and deaf on the spiritual side.
I mean, I hear Jesus all the time, but I don't engage in the spiritual realm like a seer.
So what's happening is, is because keep in mind that Seth is a person without a body, a demon's, another spirit.
And Seth is now speaking to Josh's mind and Josh hears Seth.
And then Josh is relaying to me what this spirit is telling him.
But that alone is fascinating that Josh, who's been suffering with this stuff, you're praying for him.
And he in his mind is hearing the demons speak.
And then he relays this to you.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's really, I can tell.
you some weird weirder stories than just that but this is the typical process and here's the point
i want to make uh Josh first off before I make my point Josh said I didn't play with the Ouija board
he said my sister was playing with the Ouija board and I wanted nothing to do with it but she
communicated to me through it so what that means is Josh watched as that little one moved around
and was participating to see what words it spelled out that little bit of
engagement is what took Josh down in a spiraling cycle for 25 years. Because that was the first of
the demon spirits they came in. And this particular spirit, I was asking him what his role is. He says,
I'm the gatekeeper. The gatekeeper in the spiritual room was the one that opens the spiritual
gate, so to speak, to invite other tormenting spirits into his life. Okay, ladies and gentlemen,
in case you're just tuning in, this is real. There's no doubt whether this is real. So,
it's important to talk about this because there are a lot of people listening right now for whom this is an issue. They've got problems and they were not aware of this. So this is important that we have this conversation. So you're saying that just so I get the facts that the person you're talking to Josh says my sister played with a Ouija board. So he didn't even want anything to do that at age seven.
but somehow he opened the door enough that this is how dangerous dealing in the occult is,
ladies and gentlemen, in case you're wondering, how incredibly dangerous and destructive and horrifying.
But that simply by letting his sister do it.
So he didn't really, he wasn't really telling the truth when he said,
I don't want anything to do with it because he was willing to entertain, you know,
this conversation with his sister.
Right.
He didn't understand that that was participating.
And this is the key.
And this is how when God told me,
he wanted me to heal through authority.
This is the process that he was indicating to me.
See, whenever you interrogated a demon and find out what is their legal right,
the authority that they have from God to be tormenting that person,
that legal right 100% of the time is an unrepented sin.
That's it.
Anytime we violate God's standard,
whether it's a little thing like what you're talking about,
unforgiveness to something in the cult, to something as simple as sleeping with your boyfriend or girlfriend,
to smoking, you know, getting hooked on something. All of these are legal rights and they come with
consequences. The way you get Seth out in this case is I had Josh repent of playing with a Ouija board
at seven years old. Then you go, then I went back to Seth and said, do you have any further legal right to remain?
And Seth said, no. Now that he repented, that it removes the legal right, then you can get the spirit out. And to maybe bring some context to this, this is really interesting. What we're dealing with is a legal courtroom situation. So if I paint the picture in the human terms, if I go out and break the law.
Actually, forgive me, we're going to another break. Plenty more coming up, folks, with Beatty Carmichael, the book is the prayer of freedom.
We're talking to Beatty Carmichael.
He's the author of the Prayer of Freedom.
And everything we're talking about is in the book with scriptural backup in case you're wondering, is this biblical?
Yes, it is.
It better be.
Otherwise, we wouldn't be entertaining this.
We wouldn't be talking about this.
So you were saying just now, this is this process that it's like a legal process.
So you say, you demand that the demon.
reveal why he is there. He says, oh, it's because when when Josh was seven, he, you know,
opened the door to listening to this Ouija board thing. And so now you get, you get Josh,
who is obviously in his 30s to repent publicly with you, to repent of this. So now the demon
no longer has the right to be there. So keep going. So once you break that legal right, then you can evictive.
If you think about like you rent your home to a renter, you cannot evict them as long as they have a legal contract to be there or lease contract.
But once you break that lease, you can evict them.
That's the same thing this is.
And in the bigger context, this is the big picture of how God's kingdom works.
If you think about human terms in a court, if I go break the law, I'm going to go to a court, there's going to be a judge and there's going to be a prosecuting attorney and the attorney is going to accuse me of breaking the law.
if I'm able to defend myself, I have no judgment against me.
In the same way, that's what God is doing here.
It says in Revelation 1210 that Satan is the accuser of the brethren and he accuses us before God.
What that means is he is the attorney general of God's kingdom.
His role is to accuse people of breaking the law.
And this law is the law of sin.
So my son, Beatty Jr., when he's a law,
he was 19 or 20 years old, he was, the Lord said, I want to show you something. And he takes him up
into the heavenly courtroom. And this is the way my son was describing. He said, up on the right,
on the dais, was God the father as judge. And to my left was a demon spirit that was accusing me
of sin. I said, well, hold on, Dady. I understand that demons always lie. Were those real sins?
He said, oh yes. He said, they lie to you and me, but they never lie to God. Every one of
sins that he was being accused of by that demon, demon spirit were real. And then the Lord told my son,
plead the blood of Jesus. So my son looked up at God and said, God, I plead the blood of Jesus over
these sins. And instantly, the demon spirit disappeared. In other words, as long as the sins had not
been repented of, the appropriating of God's Jesus' blood, then he's accused of it. And he can then be
judged and be tormented for it. But once you repent, once you apply the blood of Jesus over the
sins, then it wipes them clean from torment standpoint. And now you can get free of the anxiety,
depression, bipolar disorder, whatever the issues are that you're dealing with. If it has a spiritual
root, it has a spiritual root because of an unrepented sin. That's a lot. When did the book,
when did the book in which you include all this information come out? I wrote
about a year or so ago. God had me shelved it for a year, and then this year I'm starting to
get it out. But when did it come out? I think it was like 18 months ago, two years ago, right?
I don't remember it somewhere in the latter part of 2023. I guess I'm asking when was it
available for purchase? When did that happen? Yeah, it was been on Amazon since then. So it's been out for
some time. Okay, just want to be clear.
Yeah. Well, so listen,
this is, you know, this is exciting news
for people and people,
I think, want to know,
how can I, how can I
get free? How can I, you know, because
I mean, what are the claims you make
in the book? You basically say
it's a step-by-step guide to freedom
from misdiagnosed mental illness,
chronic pain, addictions
in more and more.
Now, you don't mean that all
mental illness, chronic pain, and
addictions are misdiagnosed, but a lot of them are. A lot of them have spiritual roots.
That's it. And it's important for us to understand because I think there are a lot of people that
would say cavalierly that everything has a demonic root. And that's not quite right, folks.
I mean, that's not. I'm finding about a 90% success rate with people. And one of the things
that's real interesting, you know, anytime you've got something that you want to really test, you
want to put it to the test as strongly as possible. And I do volunteer teaching at one of the largest
addiction recovery centers in America. It's a place called the Love Ladies Center here in town.
They house over 500 women. My class is their favorite because for every 10 students that come through
my class, I literally just give them my book. And in the back, or in the process, is a worksheet that allows you to go through
and identify, I found about 18 different categories where we have these unrepented sins that are the open door
legal rights to torment. And by just having them go through this on their own, I don't pray with them,
I don't pray for them. But they go through this on their own, make a list of things that God brings to their
mind in these categories, and then pray through a structured approach to basically say, I confess I was wrong.
nearly nine out of ten of those women see everything disappear in their life.
And I've got to thank you note that I put in my book.
Could I read it real quick just to illustrate how this works?
We just got 20 seconds.
Do you have time?
After 20 seconds, yes.
No, no, I'm saying we only have, now we have 15 seconds.
Can you read it before we go to the break or should we go to the break?
Let's go to the break first.
Okay.
I think, you know, a lot of people listening will find all that you're saying unbelievable.
And I want to say that over and over because, folks, this is real.
And we have to, well, we'll talk more about it.
But this is very important.
Thank you.
We'll be right back.
Talking to Beatty Carmichael.
His book is The Prayer of Freedom.
Is there a subtitle for the book?
It is a step-by-step guide to freedom.
from mental health, chronic pain, and addictions.
And you said you had a thank you note you wanted to read from someone.
So this is one of the ladies at the Addiction Recovery Center.
And when I tested this, I had three classes.
I gave them all this process.
I did nothing with them.
I said, do it.
And let's measure the results.
87% of the ladies saw everything on their issues disappeared.
This is one of those ladies.
And I want to read this just to show what range of things we're talking about
that can have a spiritual root.
Now, it's a lady named Catherine.
She said, I want to thank you for the prayer of freedom because it has changed my life.
Growing up, my relationship with my mom was really tough.
She was abusive and she and my stepdad would drink and get into lots of fights.
By the time I was in seventh grade, she said she didn't want anything to do with me and she left.
That's when life began spiraling downward.
By 16 years old, I was having sex with lots of boys and started getting into drugs.
That was just over 10 years ago.
Before doing this prayer, I was addicted to heroin and fentanyl and meth. I had a lot of worry and stress and anxiety. On a scale of 1 to 10, they were probably an 8. I've had constant allergies and sinus headaches for years, migraines 5 out of 7 days a week, and a super heavy feeling like I was carrying around an overweight backpack every day. Life has really been difficult. But the prayer of freedom in repenting changed everything. Literally, everything is gone. No more
sinus issues, all gone. No more headaches and migraines. All gone. No more heaviness. It's all gone. No more
anxiety or stress or worries. Literally on a scale of one to ten, they've all gone to zero. Even my
addictions have gone down to zero. I don't want drugs anymore. I have no urges for them anymore.
And even the thought of any drug discussed me. It's all gone. What this shows is 100% of all those
issues she was dealing with had a spiritual route. They've been diagnosed by the medical system.
as these issues, it's easy to diagnose the symptoms, but the cause was misdiagnosed because all it
was was a spiritual issue. When you follow God's word, God's word says, if anyone is sick, this is James 5,
14 through 16. If anyone is sick, let him call for the elders, but it ends it right here. It says,
James 516, confess your sins, dot, dot, dot, and you shall be healed. And so all this is doing is
creating a very structured, simple, step-by-step approach to making a list of unconfessed sense
that could be the root of your issues. And by confessing those sense, God heals. And I'm seeing
miraculous healing 90% of the time. Now, I'm going to say this again, folks, because everybody
listening to the program, you already know I believe in this stuff. But it sounds too good to be true.
it's just
it's so extraordinary
when you say 90%
so how do we explain this?
I guess my brain
immediately goes to
people aren't doing this.
In other words,
there are people walking around
with unconfessed sin
and they kind of
maybe they say,
well, I was young,
well,
I,
you know,
everybody was doing it.
It's not that bad or whatever.
And it seems like
this is again what I'm trying to, as I process what you're telling me,
it seems that these people don't understand that you need to repent of every one of these sins.
God wants you to repent so that he can free you.
But if you do not repent, if you do not acknowledge that he has the power to forgive you
and to heal you and you don't bother with it, that it just stays with you.
Because, you know, when you say 90%,
are you dealing with people that would say they're Christians or mostly not?
Almost every single person, Christian, yes.
In fact, every person I did his deliverance was with was Christian.
These are issues that we as believers have.
See, here's what happens.
This is the big conundrum.
And growing up in the church where I grew up,
it was kind of this legalistic church.
And it was very simple.
once you pray and believe in Jesus, then all your sins are forgiven, past, present, and future.
So why do I need to repent anymore if they're already forgiven? And so there's big pushback that
says, well, hold on, I don't need to repent of my sins because they're already forgiven. This is the
big issue within the Christian-Christiandom. But if that's the case, then why does James 5, talking to
believers say, confess your sins and you'll be healed? Why does Jesus say, when he
teach us how to pray and forgive us our debts as we forgive those who have sinned against us.
Why do we see this constant message throughout about repentance?
It's because there's a difference between our sins being forgiven for salvation in eternal life
and our sins being wiped away for earthly torment as I believe it's part of God's discipline
to bring us to discipline.
And in fact, David talks about this in Psalm 32.
He says, when I refuse to confess my sin after killing Uriah and committing adultery with Bashiba,
he said, God's hand of discipline was heavy on me.
My body wasted away, my bones ached.
I had no energy to get out of my bed.
But then I confess my sins, and I was healed.
And we see this pattern throughout scripture.
I can walk you through scripture a little bit if you want.
problem but but another
is I just so we get clarity for
for people listening
at least correct me from wrong but the idea is that
people say okay I received Jesus
I received his forgiveness
his holy spirit comes to live
inside me I'm cleansed I'm forgiven
it's over you're saying
no you're saying
that's the moment
what happens at that moment
and then what needs to happen
from that moment on
Yeah, so at the moment that we believe in Jesus, our names are in the book of life, and we bypass the lake of fire.
But Jesus, even in Revelation 3 and 4, when he's writing the seven letters to the churches, or maybe it's Revelation 2 and 3, I forget the chapters, he says multiple times to repent, turn back to me, and he's talking about believers.
You even see Paul.
Okay, so hold on.
So I just want to be real clear.
So the point is, when I accept Jesus,
I am now, as you just said, I am now saved.
But that does not mean that everything else falls in line.
So yes, if I, by faith, except what Jesus did on the cross and he comes to live in my heart, I am now saved.
But just because I'm saved, just because I'm actually a Christian who's
going to heaven doesn't mean that every single earthly problem has yet been dealt with. I am now
on a journey. I guess you can call it sanctification. When we come back, we'll talk more about this.
My guest is Beatty Carmichael. The book is the Prayer of Freedom. Welcome back, folks,
talking to Beatty Carmichael. The book is the prayer of freedom. So, Beatty, this is, you know,
important, fascinating stuff. And I just want people to understand what we're talking about. So a person can get saved.
They can appropriate the forgiveness of Jesus, but you're saying that's only for salvation,
that when I appropriate, when I ask Jesus into my heart and on and on and on, I am now saved.
But there is this process of sanctification which requires repentance.
I am not done.
Correct.
I still have things that God wants me to go back, to repent, to remember things.
In other words, so what is it when people say, you know, all of that's wiped clean?
Biblically, what does it say?
I mean, when I accept Jesus, I accepted Jesus in 1988.
What is wiped clean at that point?
You know what I'm saying?
Because I think there are some people that are going to say, I don't get it.
I thought my sins were wiped clean.
So most of what the Bible teaches are spiritual laws, and spiritual laws are heavenly truths,
not necessarily earthly realities.
For example, we've been born again, yet I'm in my same body, right?
So there's something different yet.
So when it says that all of our sins have been wiped clean and God forgives them and has forgotten them,
that's a heavenly truth for our eternal life and eternal salvation.
But Jesus also brings to.
clarity that there is a repentance that we need to live with. His main message that he came preaching
was repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. He said the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy,
but I came that you might have life and have it abundantly. That's John 1010. But most people don't
live in abundant life because they have anxiety and depression and chronic pain and they have relationship
conflicts and all kinds of issues like these addictions like that Lady Catherine. And so the only way
to actually receive by faith the abundant life that Jesus promised is to obey by faith the command that he gave.
His primary command was to repent.
You see this in Colossians.
I think it's Colossians too.
It says that he disarmed the rulers into the authorities and paid our debt for us.
Okay.
So when he pays our debt for us and he disarms rulers and authorities,
the rulers and authorities, I believe, are the lower level demonic type of spirit.
that attack us. But the only way you disarm them is you have to repent. And this is proven empirically
because when you cast a demon out, he'll only go if you repent to the sin that's now disarmed him
from actually having authority over you. Then you can get him out. So we see this pattern. You even
see it in 1st Corinthians 11. Paul is writing to the believers, the New Covenant believers. And he's
talking about the
Lord's Supper. And back
then everyone would bring food together
and have a big meal. And he
says to the rich people, you are not
discerning the body of Christ and you're
creating disunity.
Because they would bring food and drink,
get drunk, and the poor people would go hungry.
And he says, watch this. He says,
that is why some of you
are weak, others are sick,
and a few of you have already died.
He is giving a clear causation that the
reason there's weakness, sickness, or death is because there's this unrepented sin.
In Matthew 18, Paul, Jesus is talking about the parable of the unmerciful servant.
And the basic ending of that is the unmerciful servant is thrown to the jailers by the king,
the king representing God, because he was not, he did not forgive his servant.
And the jailer has the, is the Greek word of the Greek word is,
Assoniza, which means to torture. So he's saying to him, he's going to throw you to the jailers.
And then Jesus says to his disciples, so too will my Heavenly Father do to you if you do not forgive
your brother or sister from your heart. He's going to turn you over tormentors.
We've got much more. This is the end of hour one. But we're going to keep going.
Talking to Beatty Carmichael, the book is the Prayer of Freedom.
