Starting point is 00:00:10 Welcome to the Eric Mettaxas show with your host, Eric Mettaxas. Hey there, folks. Welcome. I'm still in California. Nobody knows how this happened. The Pacific Ocean is right there. It just becomes more beautiful every day. I really recommend it as an ocean if you haven't, if you haven't tried it. There are not a lot of oceans to choose from. I'm familiar with the Atlantic. Now a little bit with the Pacific. the other oceans, I really can't comment on them, and I apologize. We're going to get to that as soon as possible. But we have more pressing matters. We have the future mayor of New York is going to be on here in a second.
Starting point is 00:00:49 As would be appropriate, he's currently stuck in traffic. All right. So Chris Heimes, you're sitting in for Albin today. Right, that's right. And I, there's so much I need to talk about. Where do we start? I mean, first of all, let me say this. Tonight, I'm speaking in Marietta, California.
Starting point is 00:01:17 Tomorrow, I'm speaking in San Diego. On Friday, I visit the Babylon B offices in Upland, California. On Saturday and Sunday, I'm in Thousand Oaks. Like, it's a crazy tour. It's a book war is atheism dead. I might have never mentioned it on the program before, but it's my new book. And the feedback I've been getting has been amazing,
Starting point is 00:01:40 but I want to read an email that I got that is a little strange. And I think it's important to share everything. I want to be honest with my audience. Here's an email. It says, Eric, I wanted, this is from Tammy. I wanted you to know how excited I was for your new book is Atheism Dead to arrive today at my door. And the icing on the cake,
Starting point is 00:02:04 it smells good love me some new book smell for the record not every new book smells this nice thanks Tammy I think she might live in Missouri but we can't say because she may have enemies
Starting point is 00:02:24 who are against the whole new book smell thing but Chris have you ever heard about like new book smell like I've never thought I've heard of new car smell I mean, I kind of get it a little bit. It's sort of like the opposite of going into a library and what that smells like there, baby. Like urine? Yes, perhaps.
Starting point is 00:02:45 No, but that's a new thing, a new, new book thing. Anyway, I just had to share that not only is the book being reviewed extremely positively. If you read some of the Amazon reviews, I was astonished. people are really loving it. Of course, that's every author's hope, but when you read so many reviews that say really nice things, he can't help but be thrilled. Last night I was in San Marcos,
Starting point is 00:03:13 I just posted that video. It was an amazing conversation. The pastor, his name is Greg Denham. He's an amazing person. He's become a friend. And he's kind of like a cross between between Greg Lorry and Howie Mandel. If they had a child, if they had a child.
Starting point is 00:03:37 Does he pull a medical latex glove over his face and inflate it with his nose like Howley Mandel used to do? As a pastor, he can't do that. But I think he would. But anyway, just a blessing to be here in California. I'm watching people getting ready to surf out there. A lot of orcas and a lot of deaths. I just want to say we saw a man cut in two in the jaws of an orca.
Starting point is 00:04:03 It was a gruesome thing. At the same time, it was beautiful just to see nature working so close. Okay, so I want to say that I'm going to be in Kansas City, Missouri, Houston, Texas, Wichita, Kansas, again, Lynchburg, Virginia, Atlanta, Georgia, Billings, Montana. I'll be back here in San Diego, I think, at Awaken Church. I mean, there's so many wonderful limitations to come and speak about the book, is atheism dead. And I spoke last night about this. I really think we're going to see a dime shift.
Starting point is 00:04:36 I think it's happening, and my book will be a part of it, that people will really come to the conclusion that the thesis that atheism is a thing, it just goes away. It had its season, you know, kind of like Soviet communism, and then it just went away. And so you're going to see, you know, a thought. thoughtful agnostics, at least, but I think atheism is dead. Okay, I want to say this before we go to the future mayor of New York by God's grace. Mypillow.com, as you know, Mike Lindell has been viciously, viciously attacked by all kinds of corporate big stores. I could go on and on, but I just want to tell you, if you, if you're
Starting point is 00:05:27 want to do necrows shopping, go to mypillow.com. His stuff is, there's some stuff is overstock, so the prices are crazy low. If you go to frankspeech.com, there are even better values at frankspeech.com. And if you go to my store.com, you can get most of my books except the new one at my store.com, some of them very cheap prices. And then the Bonhofer poster, folks, I'm telling you, If you want a little piece of inspiration in your home or a man cave, I would say these are beautiful posters with the statement, silence in the face of the, I mean, what could be more important for our time?
Starting point is 00:06:10 Silence in the face of evil is itself evil. Not to speak is to speak, not to act, is to act. God will not hold us guiltless. If you're sitting by while we have, you know, is unleashed on our kids. This is important that we stand up. So the Bonhofer poster is there to inspire you, my store.com. You have to use the code Eric.
Starting point is 00:06:35 And I shouldn't forget to mention NutraMedics, also the code Eric for the discount. But I use their stuff every day. And I've got 19 inch biceps. And I can't show them on camera, but because the camera distorts it, it makes them look like 12 or 13 inch biceps. But unbelievable, unbelievable. Now, I can't say this legally, but I'm not saying it legally. I'm saying it illegally, which is very different.
Starting point is 00:07:04 Chris, do you use Neutrametics products? Can I help you? What would you like? Well, they've got everything for anything. I don't even need to, pretty soon I won't need to be able to wear, I won't need to wear this preposterous wig anymore because things are happening. Neutrametics. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:07:20 Yeah, no, I don't use the product yet. My pythons have turned into garter snakes, my biceps have deflated. Nutrametics.com used the code, Eric. They've got everything there. And by the way, speaking of my wig, this is kind of sad. A lot of people said, Eric, your hair looks a little different. Well, yeah, my wigmaster took his own life recently. The pressure was too much trying to make me look good with the various wigs.
Starting point is 00:07:48 I'm very demanding when it comes to my hair. He really screwed up on the wig adhesives. He couldn't get the ones that I liked. And there was just a lot of pressure on him. And he just, we can't really say exactly what happened, but he's been gone for a long time. Eric, is it true that he used one of his horses from the horsehair wigs to kill himself? No, that's a rumor. We do not spread rumors on this show.
Starting point is 00:08:16 We only talk, we only speak truth about the, uh, my former, wigmaster. And listen, if he ends up being out there, you know, wandering in the woods or something, welcome back, Jimmy. I just want to say, okay, like all is forgiven. I get to be a hothead when concerns my wigs. So, so anyway, these are all rumors. Look, it's our job on this program to spread rumors. Chris, you and I know that's a big part of what we do. We do our best to spread them. and I just want to say that when Criticelywood comes back, we're not going to talk about this stuff, okay? He's very sensitive about his hair.
Starting point is 00:08:53 We're not going to talk about it. We should probably mention something very serious, Alliance Defending Freedom. We've only got a couple of days left to give to Alliance Defending Freedom through this program. Somebody recently gave a gift of $10,000, which means they're going to get dinner with me and whoever else they like.
Starting point is 00:09:14 I want to say that it is such a jewel. to know that those of you, now some people can give that kind of money to a great organization. Some of you can't, but we give what we can. This is for freedom. This is a beautiful thing, and I just want to say that our website is metaxis talk.com. Now my website is ericmataxis.com. But if you go to metastastok.com, you'll see the banner. We really meet everybody to participate. Give generously it's for religious freedom. It's a beautiful, important thing. We'll be right back with Curtis Sliwa. Hey, folks, I've got to tell you a secret about relief factor that the father, son,
Starting point is 00:10:04 owners, Pete and Seth Talbot have never made a big deal about, but I think it is a big deal. I really do. They sell the three-week quick start pack for just 1995 to anyone struggling from pain like neck, shoulder, back, hip, or knee pain, 1995, about a dollar a day. But what they haven't broadcasted much is that every time they sell a three-week quick start, they lose money. In fact, they don't even break even until about four to five months after if you keep ordering it. Friends, that's huge.
Starting point is 00:10:30 People don't keep ordering Relief Factor month after month if it doesn't work. So, yes, Pete and Seth are literally on a mission to help as many people as possible deal with their pain. They really do put their money where their mouths are. So if you're in pain from exercise or even just getting older, or to the three-week quick start for 1995. Let's see if we can get you out of pain too. Go to Relieffactor.com. Relieffactor.com.
Starting point is 00:10:50 Or call 800, 500, 500, 800, 800, 8,000, 800,000. 8384 relieffactor.com. I use it. It works. Ladies and gentlemen, do you remember that I said that I would get Curtis Slewa on the program? Do you remember that? I said it a couple of minutes ago, so you should remember. Well, promises made, promises kept. Curtis Slewa, future mayor of New York City. God bless you, my friend. You just make me happy just looking at your face. You had an amazing debate last night. And I want to frame this and tell everybody. you don't need to live in New York.
Starting point is 00:11:35 We know New York is America City. It's a bellwether city. What happens to New York affects the entire nation. And New York was an unbelievably thriving city until Mayor de Blasio destroyed it. In eight years, he put the pedal to the medal. Curtis Lewa, welcome. Oh, my pleasure to join you again last time.
Starting point is 00:12:00 Remember, I was on a city bike outside of prospect. Park. I don't believe, I don't believe you remember that. You have been so busy running for mayor. Let's frame this, okay, because most people listening to the program don't live in New York, right? So, number one, I want to ask you, how do you see this race shaping up? De Blasio was a full out, I mean, he's like a Biden wannabe. He is a total communist. I mean, we're not even joking, right? He's as bad as you can imagine. I've seen the city change in a few years like I never dreamt it could change. The crime, the graffiti, the street people on the Upper West Side.
Starting point is 00:12:46 I mean, it's an unbelievable deterioration, number one. Number two, now you are running against Eric Adams. Talk about the race as it stands now. Well, all you had to do was listen to Eric Adams on that debate stage last night. and towards the end, we were asked by the moderator to give a letter grade to Bill de Blasio. Eric Adams said B plus. And that made my entire point that if the voters in New York City vote for Eric Adams and not Curtis Lee, you're going to get four more years of de Blasio.
Starting point is 00:13:24 What drug-induced psychosis was Eric Adams in to give him a B-plus? That is the ultimate in social promotion. I gave him an F. And I said, I can't wait to this guy leaves New York City and goes back to Cambridge. He'll probably be an adjunct professor and ruin a whole new generation of poly-sized students at Harvard. You know, it's a joy to have you on introduce you to introduce you to my audience because I think that you are the ultimate New Yorker. All of us had problems with Ed Koch. You had real problems with Ed Koch, but he was a New Yorker.
Starting point is 00:14:03 You didn't get the impression that, you know, he kind of took the train down from Cambridge, Massachusetts. He sounded like a New Yorker. You have been in New York your whole life. Tell us a little bit about your biography for people that are just tuning in because I want people to know you who you are. I came out of a blue collar working class background in Canarcy Brooklyn. My father, Merchant Siemens Chester, for 55 years. and my mother, Francesca, raised both myself and my two sisters who are directly involved in my campaign to become mayor. But if we look at it, my father, when he would return from being offshore for eight months of the year,
Starting point is 00:14:45 we would go down in the 1960s to an area called a Bowery. Right now, in Manhattan, you would have to take a reverse mortgage just to get parking space down there, never mind living space. but back then it was where all missions and the flop houses were what's called the derelates, the bombs they referred to them. And my father knew some of these men because he had previously been seaman with him. And he said to me, thereby the grace of God go you, Curtis, at any moment, this could happen to any one of us. And he'd have conversation with these men. And I understood at that early age you had to be caring and compassionate
Starting point is 00:15:25 And so that's what I've done for 42 years as leader of the Guardian Angels, not just in New York City, but around the world now in 13 countries, 130. Let's talk about that because there are people watching this, is saying, why is this guy wearing a red beret? I know why, and it fills me with pride just to look at you. But there are people thinking, this guy's got the heavy New York accent, he's wearing a French beret, what is going on? I will just say, as a preface,
Starting point is 00:15:54 I grew up in New York City. I was born in Queens. I was in there into the 70s. We got out in the 70s, moved up to Danbury, Connecticut because the crime, the deterioration was unbelievable. And we watched the New York News every night. It was unbelievable. We had Mayor Beam. It was just like a nightmare.
Starting point is 00:16:21 And into this nightmare steps a young guy. named Curtis Slewa. Tell the story, Curtis. As a night manager of McDonald's in the Bronx, the Bronx was burning down at the time, and in the 70s alone, a million people fled from New York City, the biggest exodus of population ever, and rightfully so, gangs, arson, property values plummeting, quality of life dismal. So I decided, hey, you know something? They removed the transit police from the subways at night because we were on the brink of a fiscal collapse. So they were laying off a lot of civil servants. I said, oh, I'll start
Starting point is 00:17:00 patrolling with a group of my closers at that McDonald's. We were called the Burger Boys, and we started to patrol this one particular train, the number four train, which had been nicknamed by the writers, the Muggers Express. I thought I'd get the Congressional Medal of Honor. Eric, I couldn't have been more hopelessly wrong. The mayor at that time, Ed Koch, vilified us, called us vigilante, said we were the hells angels. The police unions were upset. They didn't want us there because they figured their furloughed employees would never be brought back. And so within the first 13 years until Rudy Giuliani got elected mayor, I got arrested 76 times. I got wooden shampoos, concrete facials, attitudinal readjustments.
Starting point is 00:17:46 It was wrong. Whenever he is elected, it changed all that. I always got to stop you because nobody knows what you just said, and it's the funniest stuff I've ever heard. You said you got wooden shampoos. You were talking about billy clubs across the head from cops. Yes. Yes. And then concrete facials where the cop would say, Curtis, you see the curb down there?
Starting point is 00:18:10 As I was handcuffed. I said, yes, Sarge. And then he go, good. We're going to have your forehead meet the curb. Bang. And then you get a big lump in a front. front of your head. So this is the kind of thing that went on under the Democratic administrations. And I want to say to my fellow Americans, as somebody who grew up at that time was there at the time,
Starting point is 00:18:32 my parents tried to raise us there, New York under the Democrats. Okay. And when the Democrats, I'm talking about Mayor Lindsay, who technically was, he was the most liberal Republican in the history. You know, he makes Liz Cheney look like Ronald Reagan, okay? Between him and then getting to Dinkins, it was freefall. It was a city in free fall like Chicago today, the worst overspending, spending into the gutter so that there's no money for cops. So you're telling me, you stepped in voluntarily, voluntarily to defend your fellow subway riders and your village. Why? Because you made Koch and the New York City. government look like the failures that they were. And it was embarrassing and they decided to punish you.
Starting point is 00:19:27 Well, I was brought up always to believe that you needed to help yourself before you can help anybody else. So here was a concept, self-help that would address this issue. Young men, young women, many of them would normally be recruited by gangs or would just be apathetic and indifferent. and I would go out there and recruit them into our ranks without weapons, without special powers of privileges, risking their life to protect people they didn't even know. People said it couldn't work. This good Samaritan ethic would never see the light of date. All of you will be shot and killed.
Starting point is 00:20:02 You'll end up making headlines because people will be attending your funerals. Well, we had a few close calls. As you know, Eric, in June 19th and 1992, I would shot five times on the orders of John Gotti's senior to John Gotti Jr. and the Gambino crime family because I was taking them on with hollow point bullets. Luckily, I survived that. But quite frankly, these young men and women were safer as guardian angels protecting the community as peacemakers than they would be if they were hanging out with gangbangers and predators and becoming a menace to society. Well, what you did is just unbelievable. I mean, your resume is unbelievable. How many
Starting point is 00:20:44 years did you host radio shows? I hosted talk radio for 30 years. 26 of it was at WABC, which at times the acronym stood for Always Broadcasting Curtis. I did all kinds of shifts. I did political talk. I did sports talk. I did any kind of talk that was available. So after a few years, about three years of doing morning drive, you become, you start to become very cogent of all the important elements of talk radio. And luckily, I was able to survive and do relatively well in the New York City market. Well, Phil Boyce thought it was a good idea to team me with you. So I will never forget one of my first gigs in radio was trying to do radio with you. It was unbelievable, unbelievable. I'll be right back, folks. This is the future mayor of New York City.
Starting point is 00:21:40 pay close attention. You will learn some things. Hey folks, Eric Metaxis here. Joe Biden and the Democrats have laid out the most socialist agenda our country has ever seen. Instead of following President Trump's blueprint that had the economy booming, the Dems are going to raise taxes, increase regulations, and skyrocket and already outrageous national debt. If your retirement is in traditional investments, it is in jeopardy. Americans should be diversifying their investments with gold and precious metals. Gold gives you control over your wealth and protects you from market volatility, inflation, and a weakening dollar. When investing in gold, I turn to legacy precious metals.
Starting point is 00:22:32 Legacy precious metals has over 40 years of experience in helping Americans protect their finances, and this team is prepared to patiently consider your own personal financial needs. If you're looking to invest in gold, call the good folks at Legacy Precious metals today at 866-473-6204 or visit them online at legacy pminvestments.com. leave your retirement to chance friends. Contact legacy, precious metals today. That's 866 473-6204. Folks, I'm talking to Curtis Slewa. By the grace of God, he will be the next mayor of New York. You will get whiplash going from de Blasio, the ultra-incompetent communist to Curtis Slewa. So it's going to be a tough transition. Curtis, right now you're running against
Starting point is 00:23:27 Eric Adams. Now, Eric Adams, The polling, I know, would put him way ahead of you just because he's a Democrat. He's black. He has some experience as a cop. So on paper, he looks like the winner. What are we going to do about this? Well, A number one, I'm a Republican who can go into neighborhoods where the only Republican they've ever seen is Abraham Lincoln on a $5 bill.
Starting point is 00:23:55 And I can do that because I've been there before many times in 42 years. so I'm well accepted, and I can engage people in dialogue. Secondly, I have the independent party line. Now, people don't realize this, but Michael Bloomberg, with his billions, would never have been elected mayor of the city of New York on the Republican line alone. He would have lost. But he spent a lot of money to get the independent party line,
Starting point is 00:24:20 which gave him the victory in all three occasions in which the people of New York elected him. The last time, barely, even though he spent $100 million, It was that independent party line. I went out and got it with signatures, was able to qualify. I had bupkins. We had no money. So we had to put a lot of volunteers out there busting their shoes to get the signatures
Starting point is 00:24:42 to qualify. There are more independent voters now registered in New York City than Republicans. And I used to be the chairman of the New York State Reform Party. So I know all about independence. And that's my path to victory with the independence. and with the Latinos and Latinos, who will soon be the majority of the city of New York, but they have not coalesced the fact that there are a growing population in terms of winning citywide office. So in many instances, the Hispanics, the Latinos and Latinos,
Starting point is 00:25:16 look at me as if I can push forward on their behalf because they get ignored by the traditional politicians. Well, this is the irony, is that you can have a black candidate, whether it's Barack Obama or Eric Adams. And if you're a black person in particular, that black candidate is taking you for granted. They have no incentive to lift a finger to help you. They don't care. They figure who else are you going to vote for.
Starting point is 00:25:45 You have to vote Democrat because, you know, somebody said that and now you got to do it. I think that's changing. I think when things get bad, they can get better. And things are so bad in New York. I mean, people see it. that they're looking for a change. And I think they're scared to death.
Starting point is 00:26:03 Listen, if de Blasio could take the city from where it was eight years ago to where it is now, I mean, I have found it to be breathtaking and clear. It's like you don't need to be looking. I mean, you come out of the subway, whatever it is, you see street people, you see beggars, you see this, you see that. There was none of that five years ago, six years ago. It is all coming back to what it was when the squeegee men were attacking you on the West Side Highway. I mean, I remember all of this stuff.
Starting point is 00:26:37 And I think your average New Yorker understands that this is your life. This is your kid's life. And you understand that. Do you have a sense? What are some of the issues that you are running on that are catching fire for you? Oh, well, from a wide breath of voters, the fact that I am compassionate and caring when it comes to the emotionally disturbed persons, these lost souls who roam the streets, the subways, and the parks, a danger to themselves and everyone else. De Blasio was responsible for casting them out of the mental health care hospitals and getting their medicine. And he created a program called Thrive.
Starting point is 00:27:18 Over five years, it's taken from the taxpayers, one and a quarter billion dollars. He put his wife, the Eva Paron of New York City in charge of it, a devastating failure. She has no credentials in this field. And nobody has seen any results of helping the homeless and the emotionally disturbed. They ripped off the money. Listen, this is called corruption, which is called crime. They take a billion dollars of my money and your money. And they not only did nothing with it to help the problem.
Starting point is 00:27:53 poorest of the poor people suffering horrible things. But we don't know what they did with it. This is called corruption. This is classic Democrat big city operation going all the way back to Boss Tweed and the Garden of Eden. It doesn't matter. It's been there forever. We need reformers. Giuliani was an unbelievable reform. It's almost unbelievable that God used that man to clean up the most messed up city ever. He has come out for you, has he not? Yeah, he's my number one supporter. And look, when I get elected to the mayoral team,
Starting point is 00:28:32 what you got to do is you work from the bottom up. You have to show initial results, or no one is going to trust you. They'll berate you. They'll castigate you because you'll be strapped with all these problems that Bill de Blasio has left for us. Like Michael Corleone and the godfather, he has said,
Starting point is 00:28:49 I'll settle all scores. And he is like burning down the city. It's like Sherman moving to Atlanta. So what you do is you start by cleaning the streets of the garbage, painting over the graffiti, and paving the potholes. People will see that and they'll notice a significant difference. And then they'll be more apt to buy into your other concepts and ideas to reform the process. If you try to attack problems at their highest levels, you will crash and burn.
Starting point is 00:29:19 Show results at the level that all people can see, and then they will empower you to make the changes that the Democrat, progressive liberals of AOC, all out crazy, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and the justice warriors will try to prevent you from doing. We're going to be right back, folks. We're talking to Curtis Sliwa. You need to know this man. Don't go away. Hey, folks, you've all helped build my pillow into the amazing company it is today. Mike Lundell has an amazing offer for my listeners on his standard my pillows. You'll get a standard my pillow regularly 69.98, now only 1998. Folks, I'm talking to Curtis Slee where he's running for Mayor of New York.
Starting point is 00:31:15 York. If he does not win, it's going to be very bad for a lot of people, a lot of poor people, a lot of poor urban people. New York is a bellwether city. It is vital that we elect people who understand city issues. Nobody, literally nobody understands them better than Curtis Leeu. Curtis, I'm not blowing smoke. I know you know that what I'm saying is true. You've lived your life doing this stuff. It's why you've got this accent, this attitude. You're a New Yorker's New Yorker. And I think a lot of people who don't know New York would look at you and say, who is this guy? You know, he sounds, he doesn't, he doesn't sound presidential like Eric Adams or, or, you know, whatever. That to me is why I know you need to be the next mayor, because you have a wildness to you,
Starting point is 00:32:08 a little bit like Donald Trump, where you just say, I see problems, I want to fix. I know how to fix problems. I'll work with both sides. It's so refreshing. So let me ask you the big question. All the people listening to this program who are not living in New York City, how can they help you? Because this matters. If it didn't matter, I would not have you on this program. This matters to everybody in America. It matters to the nation. Well, to all of your listeners all across the nation, especially south of the Mason-Dixon line. My mission also is to convince New Yorkers to improve and not to move. Because if the Exodus continues, those red states will become purple and become blue. Look at Virginia. Look at all these states now where just a few thousand votes can change the outcome. I don't want New York City people fleeing down south because it will change the electoral makeup the same way that people fleeing California are changing the electoral makeup west of the Mississippi River. So you got to help me do that. And you got to learn more about
Starting point is 00:33:16 my campaign because I'm not an orthodox politician. I'm very unorthodox. So go to Curtis Slewa for mayor.com. Curtis Slewa for mayor.com. You can see all the positions that I take. And the one that has really garnered so much attention is it's the first time any candidate for mayor has ever run on a platform of animal welfare. No kill shelters. We are not going to kill dogs, cats, or animals in our shelter system, which when they are surrendered or they find them in the streets, they only live for 72 hours before they are destroyed or euthanized. Most voters don't know that. Taxpayers don't know that.
Starting point is 00:33:57 I've shed a lot of light on that. They don't want to answer for why they kill and euthanize animals so quickly. So when I'm elected mayor, first thing I do, executive order, we are going to save every. dog and cat and animal we can and find them a home of their own. And plenty of rescue groups, plenty of people who would foster these animals. I mean, let's face it, Eric, at times I have 17 rescue cats I live with. I'd much rather deal with the rescue cats at home than my relatives, children, everyone else out there, because they don't give me a hard time. Now, I want to get the website right.
Starting point is 00:34:37 Is it Slewa4N-Y.com? Is that the website? Yeah, same website or Slewa for Mayor.com. You're going to get people to spell Slewa. That's the number one thing. S-L-I-W-A. Folks, if you care about your country, believe me, I'm a New Yorker. As New York goes, the country goes, for good
Starting point is 00:35:01 and for ill. Under Giuliani, it was so dramatically transformed. It's, it's, it's, it's the greatest city in the world as far as I'm concerned. It's not just because I live there and was born there and raised my daughter there. It's, it's the greatest city in the world, and we have allowed it under some mayors to go to hell. This mayor, de Blasio, has destroyed it. It's incomprehensible to me that somebody could take eight years of Giuliani, 12 years of Bloomberg, who really continued a lot of what Giuliani did. And it was, it was utterly transformed. One of the biggest cities transformed so dramatically to have somebody like de Blasio come in and in no time bring us back to what I just never thought I would see it. So please go to Slewa for New York.com, S-L-I-W-A-4-N-Y dot com. Or what's the other website, Curtis? Curtis Slewa for Mayor.com.
Starting point is 00:36:09 Even easier. Curtis Slewa-Mayer. I know you need contributions. People from out of state can contribute to your election. Oh, absolutely. Look, Eric Adams has been wine dined in pocket line by a lot of Democrats all throughout the country. So I got to make up for lost time and lost ground. And when is the date that we go to the polls?
Starting point is 00:36:36 On November 2nd is the final day of voting. But obviously now we're pushing all of our finances into the last minute television advertising, radio advertising. It really galvanizes the people most likely to vote. I'm going to be back in New York City on November 2nd. I cannot wait to vote for you on the independent line. It's very, very important. What do you think the future of New York is?
Starting point is 00:37:08 If a guy like Eric Adams gets elected, we know that he can talk a good game, but it's frightening to me to think after eight years of Giblasia, what would happen if people don't come out for you? Well, Eric Metaxos, he said it all last night on the final debate stage. He said, I believe that Mayor de Blasio deserves a B plus for the great work he's done for the city of New York. This guy is out of his mind. He indicated to everyone looking at that debate, the tens of thousands of people are watching that, that he'll just be de Blasio 2.0. 2.0.
Starting point is 00:37:49 So I say to people, who's going to keep you safe? Who do you trust to keep you safe? And people know where I've been for 42 years. They know that I've shed blood in order to defend New Yorkers under attack under siege. And I think that will propel me to victory because Eric Adams is like your typical politicians, robotic. You know, he regurgitates, sound bites. But he never does anything. And I think that's what will resonate.
Starting point is 00:38:19 we are in America. I think people have finally woken up to the fact that guys like that, they do absolutely nothing. They've got cliche after cliche. They'll say whatever. They will smile. They put on a suit. They do nothing for the people that elected them. Folks, don't make a mistake. This is way too important. If you can give to Curtis, go to Curtis Sleewa for mayor.com, please, this is important. Curtis, God bless you. And we'll talk to you. you after the election. Oh, thank you. Thanks for the tactical air support, Eric. My hands across America to all of your listeners. Holy cow. Chris, what do you make of Curtis Slewa? He's like a made-up, he's like a cartoon character, but he's real. Yeah, I mean, he is like an action figure,
Starting point is 00:39:26 superhero come to life. I will never forget the story he told about almost getting murdered in a taxi cab in the city. He got shot. I want to help him write his story because the fact that he hasn't written a book, I want to publish his story. Is there anybody out there who wants to help fund a publishing company? I'm not even kidding. I'm going to do this because there's so many stories like his that are just crazy, amazing, inspiring stories.
Starting point is 00:39:55 His story, it just doesn't get crazier. And we didn't even get to touch on it, really. But if he is an elected mayor of New York, it will be a tragedy. If he is elected mayor, it will be a comedy and a joy that you won't even believe. There's nobody like this guy. He's amazing. I just got word. The wigmaker is alive.
Starting point is 00:40:20 He's very, very dramatic. You know, he's been in the theater world for a long time. He was, you know, he was with cats. So nobody applies false hair. you know, like he does. He's got a reputation in the industry. So I think he's very, very fussy. He can't take criticism. So he left the suicide note. And it just got weird, but it turns out, I think we're going to be okay. I think we're going to be. I just want everybody to know, I think it's going to be okay. And he will live to make more wigs for me. And Jimmy, if I ever, you know, if I got out of the line,
Starting point is 00:40:57 I just want to say, you know, my wigs are important to me, but you're also important. to me. Well, I really would like one as well, but I can't afford him. He's kind of a diva. Oh, he's a diva. He invented the word. But listen, he's just that good. He can get away with it. Now listen, we need to say that an hour two, we, I'm going to read in the next segment, I'm going to read a letter because as you know, I wrote a book called Is Atheism Dead? I've been doing tons of media, tons of media. And yesterday, I've been on new. I've been on new. Newsmax a bunch of times. I don't know. I'm just doing all kinds of stuff. But yesterday I got a letter slightly angry correcting me. An atheist took issue with the article. I have an article at Fox News.com
Starting point is 00:41:45 called Is Atheism the Enemy of Freedom? And so I'm going to, in the next segment, before we go to Kirk Cameron, I'm going to read the letter and respond to it because I really think it's important that we try to respond to some of these questions and concerns and considerations people have. I think that the person wrote the letter is misunderstanding me in some ways and is misunderstanding some other things. But I want to do that. So in the next segment, I'm going to read the letter. My book is called Is Atheism Dead? And I'm doing a lot of speaking.
Starting point is 00:42:22 Go to my website, Eric Mataxis.com. Folks, I keep saying this. Sign up for the newsletter. You just can't believe. We're sending stuff out. excerpts from the book, all kinds of stuff. Sign up to the newsletter. Please tell your friends. It's hard for us to get the word out.
Starting point is 00:42:35 We want to get you these interviews on Rumble. All that stuff is sent out if you go to Eric Mataxis.com. And also don't forget, the Bonhofer posters are going like hotcakes. People seem to need inspiration. The quote is, silence in the face of evil is itself evil. Not to speak is to speak. Not to act is to act. God will not hold us guiltless with a beautiful picture of Bonhoffer.
Starting point is 00:42:58 It's the picture from my biography of him from the cover. So you have to go to my store.com, use the code, Eric. Almost all of my books are there, not the new one, but I want to encourage you to do that. And of course, do all your shopping at mypillow.com and use the code Eric. And of course, nutrometics.com. These folks are heroes. We'll devote more time in the future to talking about why some companies are willing to stand. up for what is right and true and why we need to support them and why we need not to support the
Starting point is 00:43:32 companies that are using their profits to work against most of our values. So anyway, we'll leave that. We'll be right back in hour two. We've got Kirk Cameron. And I want to read this letter from this atheist. So we'll be back in hour two. Don't go away.
