Starting point is 00:00:00 Folks, welcome to the Eric Mattaxas show, sponsored by Legacy Precious Metals. There's never been a better time to invest in precious metals. Visit legacy p.m.investments.com. That's legacy p.m. Investments.com. The Texas show with your host, Eric Mettaxas. Hey, folks, welcome to hour two. In a couple of minutes, I'm going to talk all about my experience at Mar-a-Lago and meeting the president again and all kinds of stuff. But right now, every week, Thursday, hour two, segment one, we do ask metaxus, where you send in your questions and Albin and others pick out a couple. So, Albin, you get to ask the questions and I will just, you know, I'll do my best to answer. So go ahead.
Starting point is 00:00:54 Okay, here we go. Eric belated congratulations on the seventh anniversary of your radio show. I'm proud to say I've been a faithful listener the entire time. How many more years of listening to the show about everything? everything will it take before I know everything. I'm not getting any younger here, you know. Kurt Schmidt sent that in. Now, Kurt Schmidt is one of the, he's a classic long time listener. And, you know, because I haven't done radio before, uh, there are these people that they listen to the show from the beginning and they become like friends. I bumped into Kurt around the country,
Starting point is 00:01:27 just a really sweet guy. And, um, the answer to your question, Kurt, is, I think another year and then you'll know everything. I think in six months, I will know everything and then I'll try to pass that on to you. But usually it takes roughly a year from now, I think eight years. But it is funny because we do, since YouTube wiped us out, you can't see most of the stuff that we did before. But we have interviewed so many different kinds of people on so many different subjects. I interviewed a man who was, was he 104 years old when I spoke to him on the phone? He had, he was telling me about his two great.
Starting point is 00:02:07 grandfathers, both of whom had fought in the Civil War and how he knew them as a boy. And he's saying one fought on the Union side, one fought on the Confederate side. I have interviewed so many people. I mean, here I am talking to a guy who knew people who fought on both sides in the Civil War. I have interviewed astronauts. We got to speak to President Trump on this program. I've interviewed tons of comedians from, you know, Rich Little to Jimmy J.J. Walker, actors, Morgan Freeman. I mean, it's kind of crazy when you look back on seven years.
Starting point is 00:02:46 So Kurt Schmidt, thanks for asking that. Thanks for listening. And thanks for spreading the word about the program. And, you know, we never say this album. Everybody can get an app on your phone. You go to the app store. The Eric Mattaxas show is an app. When you get that, you can listen to the program any time you want.
Starting point is 00:03:04 want 24-7. You can listen to the program anytime you want. It's in a constant loop. So, you know, you can listen to it when you go for a walk, when you're walking the dog, when you're kayaking, whatever you're doing. But it's an app. We hardly ever mention that. But it is an app. And also, you can go to Metaxus Super. And if you pay a little bit, you can get it commercial free. I usually never ever mention that. I really ought to mention it more often. But anyway, thanks to the question. And if I want the radio show free, I just call you up and start talking to you. Okay.
Starting point is 00:03:38 How do I register for your upcoming Socrates in the city event? Well, we probably didn't need to have that question there because I've mentioned it so many times. But since it's asked, I simply say go to Socratesin the city.com. You'll see events. This is a very big deal. I cannot stress what a big deal it is. This is the 50th anniversary of Charlie Duke walking on the moon, the 10th man to walk on the moon.
Starting point is 00:04:05 These men were like gods when I was a kid. The idea that these men went 250,000 miles away into outer space and landed on the moon. The whole thing is unbelievable. But that's going to be May 31st. I really hope if you can't come, maybe you know somebody in New York, you can buy them a ticket. The tickets are available. The low price tickets are still available. But just go to Socrates and the city.com.
Starting point is 00:04:30 Thank you. Okay. How are you feeling about the source? Supreme Court leak. And what about a post-Rowe versus Wade America? Well, the Supreme Court leak of the opinion written by Justice Alito, which effectively ends Roe v. Wade, we all saw this coming. Anybody who knows anything about the law knows that Roe v. Wade, even if you are pro-abortion, you understand Roe v. Wade is bad law. It was kind of like, you know, it's like something, some Jerry Wrig thing. When you look at something, somebody builds
Starting point is 00:05:05 something, whatever, and you go, that's not really the way to do it. That's what Rovi Wade was. And so the idea that they found in the Constitution, they said, you know, justification for abortion across America, that's preposterous. It should be in the precinct of the states. Every state should vote, and every state can decide. And then it's on you if you want to have something wicked like this, possible in your state. But what happened in 1973, of course, was evil. It's when it's like Dred Scott. You cannot, by fiat, declare that something is the law of the land when it's not in the Constitution, when it's not constitutional. So we need to send this back to the states. And even if you're pro-abortion, it seems to me that you should understand that. That's not, you know, the idea that there's
Starting point is 00:05:58 some universal right to abortion. A lot of people, frankly, are just hysterical. They don't really, they don't want to think about it rationally. They just, I don't know if they're operating on fear or they're just angry. But I think that, you know, the leak was a wicked thing. But I think it's a good moment for civics in America to teach us how things work and what happens when people try to break the system because they don't believe in the system. They don't believe in the rule of law. They don't believe in life for the unborn, and they don't believe in however our system works. And they just want to say, burn it all down. Let's do what we can.
Starting point is 00:06:36 Let's protest. Let's threaten. That's not the way we do things in America. So that's all I should say. Okay. Here's another big one. Thoughts on the primary wins from the other night. Well, as I mentioned, I had the privilege of being with Donald Trump last night here at Mar-Alauga for the 2000 Mules premiere.
Starting point is 00:06:57 And it tells you something, and Kevin McCullough mentioned it, it tells you something about the feeling in America that when Trump endorses 22 candidates, all 22, one, I don't know how else to see that except to see that most of America believes in Donald Trump's vision for America and wants to see people like him or who support him. at the top of the pack is at the head of the pack is J.D. Vance. I had the privilege of getting to know him. And I just want to tell you, J.D. Vance, you know, I wasn't sure what to think about him. A lot of these people, you have questions. Once you get to know them, you get to see, I think it's going to be very good for America. I think Americans are going to be blessed by what happens in this election, but we've got work to do, but we're doing it. Okay. Since it's a national day of prayer today, this is a great question. I would like to ask you about the World Prayer Network Zoom calls. Praying and getting info and updates every Sunday and Wednesday has been so wonderful I've watched since the beginning. Were you involved from the
Starting point is 00:08:05 start and how did it come about and what are your thoughts on the program right now? Yeah, well, the World Prayer Network, it's headed up by my friends, Mary O'Brienick and Jim Garlo. They are dear friends. I was just with Jim Garlo just the other day in San Jose, California, when I spoke at Mike McClure's Church, Calvary, San Jose. These are dear friends. And some people thought, like, how come they kicked you off with the network or how come you're not on there anymore? I really can't do it anymore.
Starting point is 00:08:35 It was exhausting. But I felt, honestly, after the election, there was so much confusion. And I said, we need leadership. We need people to pray. Many people need a place to pray and to hear what is the latest that's going on. And I felt an urgency to be a part of that. And everywhere I go, people say thank you for being a part of the World Prayer Network. I didn't know about that.
Starting point is 00:09:02 And I think there are a lot of people, too, that they were not part of a community of serious prayer. The people at the World Prayer Network, you know, they're the proverbial next level. They know how to pray. And so the World Prayer Network is something that I'm sure I'll be back there now and again. but I don't have the ability to do it all the time or really very much at all. But I'm just glad it still exists. And I want to exhort people. If you're looking for a place to pray, it's necessary.
Starting point is 00:09:37 Jim and my are the heroes. You can find it at world prayernetwork.org if you want to check that out on World National Prayer Day. All right. Now, when we come back, I'm going to give you the details on what happened last night. At Mar-a-Lago, folks, I felt like I was in a dream. We're going to send pictures out if you haven't signed up for my newsletter, Ericmetaxis.com. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:10:12 Tell me, Eric, why is Relief Factor so successful at lowering or eliminating pain? I'm often asked that question. The owners of Relief Factor tell me they believe our bodies were designed to heal. That's right, designed to heal, and I agree with them. So the doctors who formulated Relief Factor for them selected the four best ingredients, yes, 100% drug-free ingredients, each helps your body, deal with inflammation. Each of the four ingredients deals with inflammation from a different metabolic pathway. And that right there, approaching from four different angles, may be why so many people
Starting point is 00:10:43 find such wonderful relief. So if you've got back pain, shoulder, neck, hip, knee, or foot pain from exercise or just getting older, you should order the three-week quick start discounted to only 1995 to see if it will work for you. It works for me. It has for about 70% of the half a million people who've tried it and have ordered more. Go to relieffactor.com or call 800 for relief to find out about this offer, feel the difference. In November of 2020, the Democrats were up to no good. They were planning to pull off the greatest scheme of election fraud in history. They didn't think we would catch them, but we did.
Starting point is 00:11:18 Find out what they did and how they did it in the new documentary film called 2000 mules, directed and narrated by renowned filmmaker Dinesh DeSuzza and executive produced by Salem Media Group. With research from truevote.org, Mules tell us a story of the ones who tried to hijack a presidential election. You'll see the actual video surveillance tapes. You'll see how we track their cell phones to box after box as they got paid to carry out this illegal scheme. Watch the movie and decide for yourself. Attend a limited release premiere of 2000 Mules in advance on May 2,000 or May 4th. To see the movie in the theater, you must buy tickets in advance at 2000 Mules.com. Tickets are not
Starting point is 00:11:59 available at local theaters. You can also attend a virtual premiere on May 7th. including a Q&A with Dinesh D'Souza. Buy tickets for the virtual premiere at 2000mules.com. That's the number 2000mules.com. Hey, folks, welcome back, Albin. Now I'm going to tell you what happened in Mar-a-Lago last night. Okay, this is it. This is what we've all been waiting for.
Starting point is 00:12:30 No, this is madness. It's funny. I find it all very funny. I'm going to post the photos on the newsletter. So you have to, I can't post them all on Instagram and Twitter, some of them. but when you go to my, well, if you're not signed up for the newsletter, you won't see it. But you have to go to Ericmetaxis.com sign up for the newsletter. So where do I begin?
Starting point is 00:12:52 We're in Palm Beach. So we're not Florida people. We're New York people. It's humid here. That's kind of the headline. It's humid. It's hot. So yesterday, we get all dressed up.
Starting point is 00:13:06 Suzanne, by the way, looked so lovely. I, of course, I love my wife and I thank God for my wife. But last night, she got so many comments on her dress, women saying, that's the most beautiful dress I've ever seen. That's the most beautiful dress I've ever seen. So, of course, she was thrilled about that. And I will put the picture of us. Mike Lindell insisted, this is the kind of guy he is.
Starting point is 00:13:29 He insisted on taking a picture of us. We were kind of like we're tired. He insisted on taking a picture of us just before we went home in one of the beautiful rooms at Moralago. So I'm going to post the picture, the official picture of Suzanne and me at Moralago last night. But I talked about the humidity. Okay. So I'm wearing a tuxedo, obviously.
Starting point is 00:13:53 And we go over there. We get in a car with our buddy Phil Boyce driving and with Larry Elder. And with, I'm trying to think, who came with? us. Oh, Dennis. Dennis Prager was with us and Larry Elder. And so we're all driving there. The Salem gang is driving there. We had spent time. Well, it's a, it's a Salem produced film. So yeah. Film 2000 meals. We're going to them to this. Yeah, to be clear, we're going to Marlago for the premiere of 2000 mules. We knew the president would be there and so on and so forth. So we get there. And you walk out. And so there's this big pool. This is like something.
Starting point is 00:14:39 out of a film, frankly, right? Marla Lago is heavenly beautiful. I didn't get to see the whole thing. I don't even know. It was so big. But it's like the breakers or one of these places. It's like, it's a big deal. So I walk out. The sun hits you like a punch in the head. It was like you're wearing a tuxedo and the sun was so hot. The humidity was so bad that suddenly you're thinking, where do I go? Meanwhile, in the middle of like sudden, you know, on set perspiration, you are everywhere you look are people that are friends that you have met, people that you want to meet. So it was, it was just crazy. So many friends, Pastor Greg Locke from Juliet, Tennessee. He's been on the program. He's going to have me
Starting point is 00:15:30 speak at his church. We bumped into him. We bumped into, I can't even tell you, obviously Charlie Kirk was there. Laura Logan was there. Dave Rubin was there. But everywhere you looked, Jenna Ellis was there with her dad looking lovely. My friend Sean Foyt was there. And Sean Foyt yesterday I said to him, like, you know, I'm always trying to think up insults for my friends. I realize like, Sean, you know who you look like dog the bounty hunter?
Starting point is 00:16:01 I finally figured it out. So I'm not going to let that go. He does. Yeah, like a skinny. Skinny one. Like, yes, the handsome. Well, his lovely wife, Kate, is there. They were high school sweethearts.
Starting point is 00:16:13 I mean, just everywhere you went, you're bumping into people that are just, you know, Patrick Byrne was there. Yeah. The epic news, the Epic Times was there on the red carpet. They interviewed me. The folks of O-A-N were there. I have the business cards here. Everybody gave me their business cards.
Starting point is 00:16:38 But it was kind of amazing. The comedian, you know, Terrence Williams? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Hilarious. He was there. Actually, look at this. I got the cards right here. I should just tell you.
Starting point is 00:16:51 Has the whole list. Yes, some people know about O-A-N, of course, Herring was there. But it just went on and on and on. These incredible people. of whom it will take too much to explain, but they're running for office in Arizona. I'm glad the Babylon B was there. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:16 The Bally was there. Carrie Lake, who is going to be running for Arizona governor or is running for Arizona governor. She was there. So many people were there. I mean, it was just, it was staggering. So then finally, after you're kind of rung out from this experience of, you know, tons and tons of people and whatever, standing in the sun. Then they usher you into a really fancy room to await the arrival of the president,
Starting point is 00:17:47 Donald Trump, to get a photo with him. So now, of course, we're hanging out with Dinesh D'Souza. We're hanging out with Danielle D'Souza. She was the sort of the host last night on the stage. introducing the president and all this kind of stuff. I got to meet Marjorie Taylor Green. Oh, that's great. And I have a wonderful conversation with her,
Starting point is 00:18:14 and I got pictures with her. And I said, we were just talking about you on my program today with my friend John Smirak. So I got to talk to her about that. But it was Blake Masters. I forget what he's running for. But all of these really extraordinary folks. And then finally it comes time,
Starting point is 00:18:34 the president's showing up. So the president shows up. He's schmoozing everybody. He was born for this. And so finally we get our photo. All of the Salem radio hosts get our photo with the president. Yeah. You tweeted that. That's a great photo, by the way. Sebastian Gorka was there. But no, you don't get individual photos with the president. You get the whole team with the president. We were not getting individual photos with the president because there's just so much going on. So Sebastian Borka was with us. But when I went up to the president, he says to me, like, this is I'm making it up. He says, I can't stop watching your show. What? And I'm thinking, what do you mean? What show? And I realized, thanks to Mike Lindell, this show is on Frank's speech
Starting point is 00:19:30 every day, an hour in the middle of the afternoon, every day. What does President Trump watch? He watches this show. I mean, it doesn't seem conceivable to me, but he literally says to me, I can't stop watching a show. I'm asking myself, why am I watching this show? He said that. I'm asking myself, why am I watching this show?
Starting point is 00:19:48 I keep watching it. You know, when somebody like Donald Trump says that to you, it's hard for me, frankly, to process that he might be watching the show. Of course, it's very gratifying to me. But of course, he couldn't have been more gracious. So I just, you know, took the bull by the horns and handed my camera to a secret service guy to get a photo with the president. And I got a beautiful photo with the president. I put it on Twitter.
Starting point is 00:20:16 I think I put it on Instagram. The connection was not very good. So a lot of these photos I didn't get to send out. But it was just amazing, frankly. So when that's all over, they then usher you into the ballroom where they're going to have the premiere. this is a ballroom. There were 500 people in seats. And this is now we're going to watch the premiere. But first we're going to hear from Dinesh. Then we're going to hear from the people that he used to make the film. Then we're going to hear from the president of the United States. And this is true. I don't know why.
Starting point is 00:20:53 I literally got the best seat in the house. I was seated in the front row on the Like there was an aisle in the middle. Okay, I was in the first seat. Suzanne was next to me. My seat was better than Donald Trump's seat and better than Julie. I don't understand why, but we were literally in the front row. And finally, the president shows up and gives us speech. And I just want to tell you, it was, I mean, as I said, there were five, 600 people there.
Starting point is 00:21:27 It was an amazing speech. He is just extremely sharp. his jokes, his observations. It was, it was, it was just amazing. It was really impressive and thrilling. And you understand why he was elected. This is a guy who understands, he just understands the way the world works and what needs to be done.
Starting point is 00:21:51 But his speech was extraordinary. And then I was astonished because I'd seen the film already. and I don't really want to see the whole thing again. I thought, let me walk to the back of the room, clear my head, you know, send out some of these pictures because the internet was not great where I was seated. So I go, I'm ready to go to the back of the room. And the president sits down in the front row to watch the film.
Starting point is 00:22:22 Now, he's already seen the film, but he watched the whole film with the crowd yesterday, sitting next to Rudy Giuliani, sitting next to Dinesh and Debbie DeSuzza. And I just, you know, I was amazed. So I went to the back of the room. I watched the film for the back of the room. I'm talking to my friends in the back of the room.
Starting point is 00:22:41 And obviously every time I'm on the screen, which is quite a bit, even though I don't, you know, have tons to say. But I just couldn't believe that the president is here. He's watching this film. It was that the whole thing was surreal. When we come back, I'll tell you the rest of the story, we'll be right back.
Starting point is 00:22:58 In case you haven't been paying attention, the Biden administration has caused a financial crisis and they have no clue how to fix it. Oil prices have skyrocketed. And when oil prices go up, the cost of transportation and shipping spikes leading the prices of goods to rise. And when we're already seeing record inflation, that's the last thing we need. Our economy is in trouble and you need to take steps to protect yourself. If all your money is tied up in stocks, bonds and traditional markets, you are vulnerable. Gold. is one of the best ways to protect your retirement. No matter what happens, you own your gold. It is real, it is physical, it's always been valuable since the dawn of time. Legacy Precious Metals is the company I trust for investing in gold.
Starting point is 00:23:54 They can help you roll your retirement account into a gold-backed IRA where you still own the physical gold. They can also ship gold and precious metals safely and securely to your house. Call Legacy at 866-528-1903 or visit them online at LegacyPMinvestments. Okay, we're back, Alben. So I know I've got to tell you the rest of the story. So we watch the film. Of course, when the film's over, you know, if you're in the film, like you're a rock star, this is like my moment, you know, where people are coming up to me and it's just, it's just crazy. But it was, there was something very gratifying that this film is made. People who don't believe the election was stolen are going to see the and they're going to say, okay, I get it. Now I get it. Now what are we going to do? Now who's going to investigate this? There were so many people in that room who could be involved in investigating this. It's very, it's exciting to think that, you know, not only are we going to win back the House and Senate, but we're going to have the ability to find out what happened.
Starting point is 00:25:18 So it really is dramatic. I want to say that. So at this point now, we're saying hello to tons of people. My ride says, okay, we're ready to go. And I'm thinking, I don't want to go. This is like a dream. I'm just floating around here talking to all these people that I don't get to talk to. So, of course, Mike Lindell says, you want to ride?
Starting point is 00:25:42 I'll give you a ride home. Now, the funny thing is, Mike Lindel stays at Moralago. So if he's given us a ride home, he's going out of his way, but that's the kind of guy he is. He's the nicest guy you could hope to meet. And by the way, we should remind our audiences, go to mypillow.com, go to mystore.com, and buy whatever you can buy and use the code Eric. Yeah. By the way, that's the code that Mike himself uses is Eric.
Starting point is 00:26:10 Eric, Eric. We should mention the code. Eric. So, but it was so crazy. So he says he'll drive us home, right? And of course, when he says that, I'm thinking, you'll never going to get Mike Lindell out of the room. Like, I think I want to hang out there. He's going to hang out.
Starting point is 00:26:26 He's going to talk to anybody and everyone because there was just so many wonderful people to talk to. I spoke to Rudy Giuliani and his son, Andrew. And I believe Rudy is going to be coming to the Mayor Giuliani's going to be coming to the Socrates and the city event. on May 31st. That's our event with Apollo 16 astronaut Charlie Duke who walked on the moon, loves Jesus. I'm going to interview him on May 31st, Socrates in the city. If anybody wants to come to New York and stay overnight, we have limited rooms available at the Union League Club. Gorgeous rooms, good prices. We'll make those available if you email us, but you better do all this soon. We still have early bird tickets for the main event. Those won't last forever.
Starting point is 00:27:20 The VIP early bird has already sold out. We have tickets at the dinner. A donor, I don't know if I said this yesterday, a donor made some $500 tickets available at the dinner. There are $1,000 a person, but a donor, a patron of Socrates gave us some money so that we have a handful of tickets to the dinner for $500. If you're interested, jump on that because those are the only ones that we can offer at $500. We're going to lose money on this. Believe me, right? So, Mike Lindell now, we start walking out with Mike Lindell.
Starting point is 00:27:56 Every four feet, he stopped by an old friend. And he is just laughing. And he's just, he really is like Mr. Life of the Party. And so we slowly get out, but he takes out us out a back way. The backway takes us into the main outdoor dining area of Mara Lago, which we hadn't seen before, with the fountain and the music. And everybody there is either somebody who's famous or an old friend or whatever. So we're not getting out of there. So I met Kerry Lake, who is running for the governorship of Arizona.
Starting point is 00:28:35 She insisted we sit down at her table. tons of these wonderful people were there. All of the Salem gang was there. You know, Kimberly Gilfoyle, all these people that you figure, oh, they probably hang out at Marlago. Well, here they are. The food was insane. I literally don't think I've ever seen this kind of like spread, literally ever. So it was just absolute madness.
Starting point is 00:29:06 I don't know how to explain it. I'm glad I don't get to do this too often because I think it would go to my head and it would drive me insane. But it was an amazing experience. And the bottom line, ladies and gentlemen, is that this was a premiere of a film that is going to change some things. Because when you see it, you're not going to say, well, I don't know how to that high. It's clear as a bell. The only way to get around what you see, will be just to say, I don't like it.
Starting point is 00:29:38 I don't like these people. They're jerks. And why would you watch anything made by a bunch of jerks featuring a bunch of jerks? Why would you be able to because you can't deal with the facts? The facts are that cell phone technology now, you're able to purchase cell phone technology to find out who was in this area at this time. These drop boxes, which we know were in stuff. There's much more to the story.
Starting point is 00:30:02 But the bottom line is, if somebody goes to a drop box to drop off a ballot, You go, okay, that's called voting. It's weird voting, but that's the way it went this time because of COVID and all these weird rules. But what if somebody goes from Dropbox to Dropbox to Dropbox to Dropbox to Dropbox to Dropbox to Dropbox to Dropbox to Dropbox? You'd say, why are they doing that? Is there an explanation? Well, yes, there's an explanation. The explanation is they're putting five or ten ballots in every one of those boxes.
Starting point is 00:30:33 They're getting paid $10 a ballot. We have their cell phones. We've tracked them. These people are going to be investigated. We're going to ask you, who paid you to do this? Where did you get the money? Who wrote the check? This is going to be absolutely amazing.
Starting point is 00:30:49 When we come back, we're talking to our friend Seth and Pete Talbot. And in the final segment, we've got a little more fun information about last night. We'll be right back. Make like a Mr. Milk toast, you'll get shut out. Make like a Mr. Meek, and you'll get cut out. Hey there, folks, Eric Metaxis here. I know you know how much I love Mike Lindell and My Pillow. Well, Mike Lindell and My Pillow right now are offering a Bogo extravaganza.

Starting point is 00:32:30 You want to talk about crazy success in business? When the Inc. 5,000 announces year after year that your company is one of the fastest growing companies in America. The 37th fastest growing in retail probably means you know how to grow company. You guys, meaning the Talbot group, Pete and Seth Talbot, you were on that list three times? Yeah, we made it three times in a row. In a row? Yeah. Okay, so I would say maybe you know something about business. You know what's so exciting about that fact, though? I remember our first spend with that particular company was just, we were excited to get 20, 30 people to come to the
Starting point is 00:33:16 website every day to buy our product. And over the eight years that we were involved to jump that to 20,000 a day, actually more than 20,000 a day. But that was a process that, as we've talked about
Starting point is 00:33:34 on other additions here on your program, Eric, that involved a lot of science, a lot of testing, adjusting, and retesting. It didn't just happen. It didn't just happen over and not. Not a one-hit wonder.
Starting point is 00:33:47 No. Well, happily. You actually know the principles of how to succeed in business with actually trying. Well, I, you know, the team that, you know, when you're getting 10 a day and then it goes to 100 a day and then a thousand a day or whatever, your systems processes, the marketing, the strategy all changed dramatically from that. It wasn't it wasn't the same idea, same execution, same strategy. from one to the next. It was an evolving strategy. I remember early on we were working on ad copy
Starting point is 00:34:22 and I would even say for the first couple of years our ad copy missed the mark because we were using primarily radio only and radio is harder to test. We did it strategically but we were honing in and it took time. So we found some level of success and then we would test and then we would test.
Starting point is 00:34:41 But it took us 18 months probably to narrow in because I remember you'd come in in my office and you'd have your stacks of sheets like this and we'd be going through ads. And those completely changed by the last season. I mean, it was a completely different approach because we realized what the customers cared about was different than what we thought they cared about. And it took us a while to test that. And not only are the lessons different, you start to realize like, man, I remember we didn't,
Starting point is 00:35:14 I mean, the product was so expensive. to make. And it was so hard to bring to Mark, and we've talked about this before. It was very, very, very challenging. It took, it took a while. In fact, just real quickly, when we first started, we failed. We were failing. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:29 And he comes to me, and he said, Dad, I think we had like $70,000 with the product in the warehouse. And he said, Dad, you got to sell it because in time, it'll expire, you know, and we got to sell it. Go burn the price. Fire sale is that term used. On one of our radio shows that I produced, we burned the price, cut the price in half. And because we did that,
Starting point is 00:35:52 and we were still measuring like maniacs, we started getting these testimonials that were coming in that were so freaky. They sound, in fact, most of our testimonials, tens of thousands now, we can't even use because they sound so dramatic. They sounded so dramatic. And so legally, people have problems. And so our attorneys were saying, oh, you can't say that. It's true, but you can't say it. People are saying. But it was that process of test, adjust, retest over and over and over again. That's what we've learned again, the science of marketing.
Starting point is 00:36:30 You've got to define the problem, test it carefully, and it doesn't take a ton of money. That's one of the biggest fallacies, isn't it? Well, the other thing, too, it doesn't take a ton of money, but also your systems have to be prepared for it. And our systems, we really struggle during different seasons to keep. up with it because all of a sudden we would try something and all of a sudden, you know, you're getting like 100% increase. You remember when we first started TV, all of us, Seth, we were on the phone ourselves. Our CFO, all of the people. So you can't keep up. I had a headset and worked customer service. Yes. Absolutely. I did. And in fact, my last two years there,
Starting point is 00:37:09 I worked customer service quite a bit. In fact, most of my attention was put on customer service. because it was customer service is very expensive to ramp up. And as you might imagine, as you heard, the labor shortage was hits. And customer service tends to be an area where you get a ton of turnover. And so the trick with good customer service is that everybody wants to talk to a live person. But the truth is is that it's very expensive and it takes forever, which is why people that insist on talking to a live person often have to wait forever. And so trying to figure out how to guess at what the people's issues were and make it easier so they wouldn't feel like they needed to call.
Starting point is 00:37:49 So using creating the systems that scale to our growth was probably one of the biggest challenges. Because near the end, we had figured out the messaging, but our systems couldn't handle it. And so we spent a lot of time and resources, a ton of money and resources on scaling the systems so that we could instantly handle customer service issues. issues that just hadn't, we just didn't take it that seriously. We were so focused on sales and marketing for the first few years because that's like your survival metric. You're just focused on sales and marketing, sales and marketing, conversions and margin, whatever. And customer service tends to kind of be the like laggard. Yeah. And it became a real liability for us. And thankfully, we really turned it around about two years ago. You know, what's also interesting
Starting point is 00:38:35 is people really don't want to talk to somebody. They want satisfaction. And what he was able to create. What he was able to create in the artificial intelligence software is that they were getting satisfaction faster. See, that to me, that is the silver bullet. There was everything you're talking about. The fact that you were able to do that, that's worth everything. See, we grew in the last 18 months while we were there.
Starting point is 00:39:01 We were exploding, but our number of employees dropped. And customer service. Customer service was so good. It was so efficient. And as he had said before, 60% was handled totally by AI. And satisfaction was up because the thing that's interesting, you ask a consumer, do you want a text thing? Do you want a website?
Starting point is 00:39:23 Whatever. Younger audiences will, of course, say texting or website. Older audiences will, of course, say live. So the trick is delivering service to that person who would opt for in person, but deliver high quality so that they walk away super happy, regardless of what the interface was. And you can do this for other businesses. Here's the key.
Starting point is 00:39:41 We can do this for it doesn't matter the category. It could be legal. It could be medical. It could be carpet laying. It could be any business, any industry, and nonprofit as well. We're often asked, well, can you do these principles hold true for ministries for non-pros? Oh, man. Yes.
Starting point is 00:40:02 Maybe even more so. I better tell people where to go. I think they can call you or they can just call. go to Talbot Group.com or if you want a live person 866 Talbot. Thanks. Hey, folks. I'm still in Palm Beach, leaving soon, but I wanted to record this just to say, first of all, in case we don't catch you over the weekend, happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful mothers out there. God bless you. I got to tell you, Albin, you know, as you know this weekend, Salem Radio has been very good to us, and they are the ones that have produced.
Starting point is 00:40:53 Salem Media has produced a number of films. The Dinesh D'Souza film, which I hope everyone will see. Saturday, May 7th is the virtual premiere. Okay, you've got to go to 2000mules.com. I will be involved in that. I'm flying to Las Vegas, but it's vital that America knows what happened. I'm telling you when you see it, you'll get it. If you're skeptical, when you see it, you'll say, okay, I get it.
Starting point is 00:41:22 I didn't understand how they did it. You will understand and you'll tell your friends because America needs to know. SalemNow.com. Also, we have the film Whose Children Are They? Another vitally, but there's so many important things right now that it gets a little dizzying. But Whose Children Are They is a film that explains really what we're fighting is cultural Marxism. This is communism. It's come to America and they're starting to say, hey, we want to take your children away from you. The kind of thing that you wouldn't dream about
Starting point is 00:41:54 a few decades ago, they want to take your children away from you, they want to indoctrinate them, they want to confuse them about what gender they are, they want to offer them mastectomies and hormone replacement. I mean, the kind of stuff out of a dystopian novel, out of a nightmare novel, whose children are they is the film that deals with it, The election fraud, the film is 2000 mules. Go to 2000 mules.com. But, you know, Albin, we said this. As a result of where we are in the nation,
Starting point is 00:42:28 there are crazy things happening beyond the nation because strong-armed dictators and thugs and troublemakers, tyrants like, oh, I don't know, Vladimir Putin, have been emboldened to attack Ukraine, for example. So there are 11,000 refugees suffering having to leave their homes in Ukraine. We have partnered with Christian Solidarity International. We beg you to join us in partnering with them in helping the refugees. They didn't ask for this, folks.
Starting point is 00:43:04 They didn't ask for this. They're just living their lives in Ukraine. This happens as a result of American weakness, projected weakness. as a result of this administration emboldening Putin who's waited forever to do this. He's been waiting and waiting. And now he saw his opportunity. So people are suffering. Our job is to help those people.
Starting point is 00:43:26 These are Ukrainian refugees. So I want to ask you to go to metaxis talk.com. Metaxistocococ.com. If you go to metaxistocococ.com, you will see the banner. And we ask you to do what you can. Albin, I know there's a phone number. Yeah, I've got the phone number. It's 888-253-3522.
Starting point is 00:43:46 That's 888-253-352. Please be generous, folks. You know what? I'm going to read the phone number. It's 888-253-3522. How'd you get that? 253-352-8-88-253-3522. 8-88-253-3522.
Starting point is 00:44:05 Because we need everybody to participate. It doesn't matter what you can give. I always say that. $280 is what we're asking. If you can do more, thank you. If you can't do that, do what you can. But when we do a campaign, you know, we partner with CSI or with just a handful of folks that we trust totally, that they're going to do a good job. So please go to metaxis talk.com, click on the Ukraine banner or dial the number.
Starting point is 00:44:34 But we need your help, folks, bluntly. We need your help. 888-253-35-22. 888-253-35-22. And once again, if we don't see you over the weekend, happy Mother's Day. God bless you.
