Starting point is 00:00:09 Welcome to the Eric Metaxis show. Did you ever see the movie The Blobs starring Steve McQueen? The blood-curdling threat of The Blob. Well, way back when, Eric had a small part in that film, but they had to cut his scene because The Blob was supposed to eat him. But he kept spitting him out. Oh, the whole thing was just a disaster. Anyway, here's the guy who's not always that easy to digest.
Starting point is 00:00:34 Eric the Texas! Hey there, folks. Welcome, welcome, welcome to the program. This is the Eric Metaxus show. I'll be playing the role today of Eric Metaxis because the understudy was sick. So I had to step in. I'm here with my friends Keith Junta and Chris Heim's. I will not spell those names.
Starting point is 00:00:56 Chris and Keith. Good morning. Happy Monday. Good morning. But whatever. I don't know what time is on urine. So listen, we have some controversies we have to address. we have I put out some tweets that got a lot of retweets and a lot of a lot of Jew hatred commentary
Starting point is 00:01:21 and a lot of other kind of commentary. So I have to I have to comment on this. I'm glad I can laugh. I'm glad I can laugh. But it's just sort of unbelievable. There's so much in the news today, I think like right now, Trump is meeting with Zelensky or has just met with Zelensky. I don't know the exact timing of it. But I want to talk about his meeting with Putin a little bit. So we're going to cover Trump's meeting with Putin, what we think of that. We're going to cover. We've been traveling, right? I mean, we also need to find out how your writing week went.
Starting point is 00:02:05 Yes, I'm working on the book. I'll give you an update on my book. I imagine you're a little bit like the character in the Stephen King's Shining film where he's got a big book he's working on too. And he spends a lot of time on it, only to reveal that it's not a very long book. You know, Chris, I see you got the shine on you. Oh, no. You got the shine. Not me, not me.
Starting point is 00:02:31 So that's awful. So I want to cover, listen, I want to cover. Candice Owens said something really stupid and offensive recently. I think I may have had it now with Candace Owens. I typically don't talk much about her, but I think I've had it with Candace Owens. And I posted something saying, have you no shame because she posted a thing about the star of David. I'd like to get to the bottom of that. Tomorrow with John Smirak, we're going to really dive into that.
Starting point is 00:02:56 So Candace Owens, I've got to talk about the nun with the mustache, who was on Tucker Carlson's program. Not making it up, ladies and gentlemen. And if you don't follow me on X, you don't know about this. I think you don't know about it. Maybe you know about it. Are we sure that's not Marty Feldman? Marty Feldman never had a mustache. Reclaiming the role of Igor.
Starting point is 00:03:19 I mean, come on. We're going to come to that in a minute. Then I want to talk about, okay. So let me start with Trump Zelensky. We're going to get the Candace Owens and the Jew hatred, which I'm against. I wrote a book about Bonhoeffer, which if you read that, I think you'll see where I stand on hating Jews. But I also want to talk about Tucker Carlson and the Greek Orthodox nun with the mustache, which I posted about. Not kidding.
Starting point is 00:03:52 And you'll see. You'll see. Okay. But first, Trump Zelensky, my take, and I invite you, Chris and Keith, if you have anything to add. My take, what always amazes me is how dumb the media are. They criticize Trump for everything. In other words, if you're trying to make a deal with an evil SOB monster like Vladimir Putin, you have to play a game.
Starting point is 00:04:29 You have to butter him up. You have to make him feel like a big man. if you don't do that, you lower the chance that you'll get any kind of deal. Now, you don't know if you're going to get a deal, but the point is these monsters need to be buttered up. This is what makes them tick. So if you're a negotiator, you understand that I have to do this. And you have to thread the needle. You also have to let them know we're not going to kowtow to you. So we have the B-2 stealth bomber flying over. One of the most genius moves, I just like fall on the floor laughing when I see the genius of Trump, that they have it all
Starting point is 00:05:14 planned out. Who planned this out? How did they get the timing of this? That the moment Zelensky greets him and they start walking, here comes the B-2 with the fighter planes on the wing. Like, this is unbelievable show a force to show, you know, because Russia does not have the B2. We could fly in. We could take Moscow out 100%. We could, you know, it's so, anyway, so he does that. But the media is all upset because he's friendly to Putin. Now, the point is, you're supposed to be negotiating with this guy and you're supposed to be buttering him up, I guess, that that's, you know, that's kind of a calculation. So I understand why people don't like it, but don't they understand, don't you understand that sometimes you have to do these kinds of things if you're trying to make a deal with
Starting point is 00:06:04 an evil dictator, you're trying to get. I don't know, I don't understand it. So I'm just stunned because I see this over and over again. They criticize you and you think like, don't you see the game that's being played here? This is to try to bring peace. This is to try to end a war. And you are dealing with a monster. Putin is a monster. So how do you deal with him? Trump is, It was trying to deal with him in the best way possible to get a deal. Anyway, that's my take on it for now. And the crazy media, like you said, you nailed it because they say, boy, Trump is legitimizing Putin or Trump is putting him on the red carpet. Guess what?
Starting point is 00:06:47 That was Trump's red carpet. And he had all of the military gear lined up. Putin didn't look like a giant. He looked like a very small man. stepping into Trump's world. And the media doesn't, they don't see the optics of what Trump was doing. It was a show of force. It was, you know, it was honoring, think about it, you know, it's honoring to the people of Israel. Isn't it, isn't it similar to Israel? So you may not like everything the government's doing, but we are for the people, right? And I think America is for.
Starting point is 00:07:29 the Russian people, they don't want to be under Putin's thumb either. And Trump brilliantly made him look like a small little man. I don't know. I mean, I think it is complicated, but I'm just mystified by people who don't seem to understand the gamesmanship. I mean, listen, I think Zelensk, sorry, I think Putin did the same thing to Trump. He knows that Trump likes his ego-stroked. So what does he say? If you'd been president, we wouldn't have had the war. That, of course, fills Trump with, you know, ego juice to hear that. And it might be true. So these people, no, no, no, it is true.
Starting point is 00:08:09 Yeah. Do you need this moral pygmy to say this? I mean, you know, you don't need that. Anyway, the point is, I was mystified, shocked by how the media doesn't seem to understand that Trump is the master dealmaker. and you ought to at least give him the benefit of the doubt. But anyway. And did you also see that the media was trying to say that there was no communication directly between Trump and Putin? So when they were shaking hands and chatting, when they got into the car, the media was mocking saying Putin doesn't speak English.
Starting point is 00:08:48 They're faking it. There's no communication happening. That's not true. Putin does speak English, as he proved at the end of the meeting, when he's, you know, he's faking it. he said next time you'll come to Moscow. The media is, there's such a lying battalion of fools that we see right through them now. We've never seen anything like it. No.
Starting point is 00:09:09 I repeat myself over and over it. We have never seen anything like it. We have a media now. They've always leaned left. They've always been pretty bad in our lifetime. But they have now gone over to a point where it's shocking that anybody, would be dumb enough to subscribe to the New York Times. Like, it's amazing to me that anybody would be that dumb at this point because you think
Starting point is 00:09:37 you're sort of sophisticated. You're a fool if you subscribe to the New York Times, unless you're reading it to see what the enemy is doing only for that. But, okay, we're going to go to a break. When we come back, I'm going to talk about Candace Owens, Jew hatred. I'm going to talk about George Stephanopoulos' sister who has a mustache and much more. Now, I forgot to say later on in the show, I'm going to be speaking to Avner Boski, I think,
Starting point is 00:11:20 is the name. And we're going to be talking about what Christians biblically are obliged to think about the Jewish people. That's an important subject. for many reasons, but especially now. And I wanted to say we were talking about Trump and Zelensky. And before we leave that subject, I guess I'm wondering if either of you had anything you wanted to add. Yeah, I think another one of the swing and miss by the media is that they were actually saying that Trump picked Alaska. I saw this, that Trump picked Alaska because Putin's got his eye on Alaska.
Starting point is 00:12:11 And this was his way of holding out a carrot. And I just thought, this is the most foolish analysis I've ever seen. Because I think what Alaska represents is energy. We can cripple Russia with a couple of policy changes where Biden, you know, throttled energy and drove up the price of oil so that the world ran. to Putin to buy their oil, Trump can do the exact opposite. Putin was standing on the largest reserve of oil on the planet. And Trump is saying, if you don't make this deal, we will crush you economically. And I think that was a big part of why it was Alaska. And that's only one way
Starting point is 00:12:56 of crushing them economically. We've had Rod Martin on this program. He routinely on X is posting tremendous information and analysis, as is Jim Cuncelor. James Howard Cunzler put something out this morning, which I retweeted. Both of them are talking about this. And I guess what Cunzler says is that in effect, Zelensky doesn't have any cards, right? And he's kind of, in other words, you can. have a choice. You can either give up, first of all, the idea that we would ever say to Ukraine, you could be in NATO is a joke. We've talked about that on the program. I don't even know.
Starting point is 00:13:48 Frankly, I don't even know why we are in NATO anymore. That's another subject for another time. It's just so strange. Because there are so many NATO members that don't share our values anymore. So it's a strange thing. But the idea that Ukraine should be in NATO, absolutely horrifying for a number of reasons. the idea that Russia would not take a deal where they're given, you know, some Eastern territory that they have won in Crimea and you're like, okay, and the war is over. But Consler is saying in his substack, which I posted on X, that he kind of has to take that deal at this point. And if he doesn't, the war will go on and on and more people will die.
Starting point is 00:14:33 I mean, that's a whole thing. Rod Martin is talking about Trump's genius in using, I mean, this is something that, I don't know if we've said it explicitly on this program. The United States has an outrageous amount of power in terms of economic leverage. We are the wealthiest nation, the biggest trade nation in the world, the biggest market in the world. we have leverage that we have not used, which is crazy that other presidents could have used it. They didn't do anything. They didn't care. They didn't even think about it.
Starting point is 00:15:11 Trump says we have this leverage. So what can we do with this leverage? We can go to a country like India and say, hey, India, you're buying 25% of Russia's oil. You are funding Russia's war on Ukraine. If you don't stop buying oil from Russia, we're putting 50%. tariffs on you. We will crush your economy. You will be dead and starving so you have a choice. Trump has just done that. The same threat exists toward China. And he hasn't done it yet. But the point is, he could say to China, listen, China, you're buying Russian oil. You're funding
Starting point is 00:15:52 this war. So we don't want, we want the war to end. So we're going to put these kinds of tariffs on you. Like devastating stuff. We have the power. We can use our power to end wars, and this is what Trump has been doing. So that's just amazing to me that Trump is doing all this kind of stuff. He's too smart to speak about it too much. So it's just, it's interesting. And this is exactly why some commented, you would never bring your Department of Treasury and Commerce heads to a peace talk.
Starting point is 00:16:27 So Lutnik and Bessner were there. and that's why. Trump was showing, I've got this economic weapon in my belt, and I'll use it if I have to. And it was interesting people saying, they shouldn't have even been there, yet they were for exactly what you're saying. Scott Besant was at the meeting. I didn't realize that. Yes, he wasn't face to face, but he was on Air Force One and there. Sorry, I said Best.
Starting point is 00:16:53 Well, he was, he was, Scott Bessent was in my class at Yale. And when we were undergraduates, four decades ago, he knew more about economics than I know today. He knew back then when he was 20. But anyway, you kind of get the idea that, you know, for the critics who said he rolled out the red carpet, and I think it was brilliant to do it up in Alaska. It's almost like a literal land bridge kind of olive branch reaching out over to Russia. So I think he also did that for the visuals and the metaphor of like, you know, we'll come meet you as far as we can go on our continent.
Starting point is 00:17:30 So it was very smart in that way, but I also think Trump was probably like, you know, we didn't roll out the red carpet. It was a white carpet, a lot of snow in Alaska. And we also had the polar bears with the lasers, you know, ready to go in case Putin tried to do some of his Russian judo. You're doing imitation. It's a little Harvey Weinstein. Who imitate Trump.
Starting point is 00:17:51 It's not gotten to the level while you're imitating the imitators. It's an lazy one. So there's a lot to talk about. By the time this program airs today, there's going to be more coming out. But the Europeans are pathetic. Kier Starrmer, I don't know who the woman is who's currently leading Germany and Macron. I mean, they are, what's that? Merck, not Merkel.
Starting point is 00:18:22 I think it's Merck, Germany. I don't know. Anyway, whoever they are, they're pathetic. They don't believe in free speech. They don't believe. We don't know what they believe anymore. They're basically woke globalists who've taken over these countries and opened their doors wide to Islamic takeover. So I wonder why we care what they think. But anyway, okay, let us move on to the Jew hatred of Candace Owens. My friend Dennis Prager, God bless that man, who's suffering. It's been like, It's coming up on a year since he had this horrible, horrible accident. But he was at Candace's wedding, and she was with the Daily Wire. And she, it's never clear what happens to people, but she said enough against the Jews to make Dennis Prager, this is over a year ago, write a 7,000. word essay explaining why she's wrong. Okay, we'll start there. The other day, and I think a lot of times I try to ignore stuff. I don't want to know everything and I don't want to know the latest thing that she said. But the other day, one of the things that she was saying was that the star of David is an occult symbol, she says, right? And I thought to myself, this is very interesting how people process things, right? Have you ever heard people say Christmas is really a pagan holiday?
Starting point is 00:20:01 The Roman pagan holiday of Saturnalia or whatever it was or the winter equinox, whatever fell on this date. And that's where we celebrate Christmas and that's the secret of Christmas. And you think, okay, I get the point. But effectively speaking, Christmas is a celebration of the birth of Jesus, my Lord and Savior. And pretty much that's the point. But people love to pull out, they got this secret knowledge of something. And it's true enough that they think it trumps everything. And this is the secret knowledge.
Starting point is 00:20:35 So when she says this thing about the origins of the Star of David, it's a cultic. I thought, you have got to be kidding. Have you no shame, Candace Owens? The Star of David is what the Nazis made the Jews wear to identify them. is it not good enough for you that this represents a Jew, but you have to say, oh, no, but, but, but seriously, but, but, but secretly, it's an occult symbol. It's an, anyway, it's, it's a whole thing. I'm going to talk about that with John's Merak tomorrow, but this underscores, there is something out there. And I say this to everybody, if you want to know what it means to be a Christian. being a Christian, it's a tricky thing because we're supposed to love Jesus.
Starting point is 00:21:29 This is not about saying I'm not a Jew and I believe in the, you know, I identify as a Christian. It's about loving Jesus. And I'm not going to have time to finish this point. When we come back, I will finish this point. But we're living in crazy times. My wits got keen, roam from town to town to hide my shame. But I made me a vow to the moon and star. Hey, folks, we're back.
Starting point is 00:22:12 I'm talking about Candace Owens. Candice Owens is problematic because I just always liked her. And there's so much she says that I like. But she has kind of turned over time. And she seems to do this thing. And other people do this. And this is a warning to everybody, if you're listening. When people pull out the secret knowledge, like, I got this.
Starting point is 00:22:34 Here's the secret to show what's really going on. And they pull out some fact, you know, the origins of the Star of David or something. And they act as though that trumps everything. And I think, well, you're really missing the larger point. The larger point is that Hitler murdered Jews because they were Jews. Hamas murders Jews. because they're Jews, not because of what they believe in or don't believe in, whether they're atheist Jews, messianic Jews, Hasidic Jews, Reformed Jews, the devil and Hamas and the Nazis don't
Starting point is 00:23:22 care. If you have Jewish blood, they hate you. And I think that when we're dealing with, we still have hostages that are being tortured while we're talking about this stuff, that's going on. And I just think it's an astonishingly bad taste of Candace Owens and others to talk about the Jews in a negative way or to try to find this. I got the secret knowledge about the guy.
Starting point is 00:23:52 We'll talk about this with John Smirak. But I'm just absolutely amazed. And so to troll people on X, I posted a shocking fact. Jesus was a Jew, right? To let heads explode. Jesus was a Jew. Oh, by the way, Mary, the Virgin Mary, Mary was a Jew.
Starting point is 00:24:20 Paul was a Jew. Peter was a Jew. John was a Jew. Matthew, Mark. They were Jews. They were all Jews. our faith is a Jewish faith. Jesus is the Jewish Messiah. The Old Testament is our book.
Starting point is 00:24:39 We were grafted in. If you are a Christian and you don't get this, that's a big problem. We were grafted in to the tree that is in scripture, the olive tree that represents the people of Israel, the Jews. We were grafted in. Christians are grafted in to that tree. So we're supposed to have a love for them. There are elder brothers. Nobody who is a serious Christian believes that you don't have to believe in Jesus to go to heaven, whatever that means.
Starting point is 00:25:12 But I mean, we're not talking about theology here on that level. But there is such a hatred of the Jews that for me to post Jesus was a Jew, you know, because I don't know that he's a Jew today. He's God. He invented atomic structure and he created the universe. But the point is that as a human being, he was a Jew. He was a rabbi. And there are people that they can't handle that, which kind of tells you their view of Christian faith. They don't understand what it really is to be a Christian.
Starting point is 00:25:48 And I'm fascinated by this. And I'll say it again, I think if you want to know what it is to be a Christian, it's not enough to say like, oh, I guess I'm not a Jew and I believe in God, so I'm a Christian. No, no, no. You have to love. Jesus. You have to give him your whole life, your heart, your soul, your future, your past. If you don't love Jesus, if you just identify tribally or theologically, I assent to these creeds and I'm a Christian, I don't think that's how it works.
Starting point is 00:26:18 Anyway, I... And the thing, Eric, that you're also touching on is the fact, and it's just like Trump derangement syndrome. It is constant criticism of Trump, and yet they will ignore the evidence coming out on the Russia hoax, on Biden, go down the list. And it's the same thing with Candace and even Tucker Carlson right now, where it is an incessant, constant spewing of hatred for Israel. And they never have a harsh word to say about Hamas, about terrorists, about radical Islam, about the the incompatibility of Islam with the Christian faith or in Candace's case, you know, the Catholic faith, they have no negativity to say at all about what is happening in in Gaza and Hamas or Iran.
Starting point is 00:27:10 And it's just disingenuous to the. And it's interesting because there are people who identify some of whom as Catholic who are, they're kind of tribalist in a way. Now, real Catholics love Jesus. Real Catholics aren't of that ill. But it's sort of interesting. You get these kinds of, you find this, there's anti-Semitism in some corners like that, where it's kind of like a tribal identity. And I think a lot of the folks who were shouting, you know, Christ is king, like, that's true.
Starting point is 00:27:49 But the spirit in which they were saying it was kind of unhelpful and kind of, That's a whole. We've talked about that. We'll talk about that later in the show with my, my, my, my guest. Okay, I think we have to talk. We have to turn now to Tucker Carlson. Tucker Carlson had on his guest, a Greek Orthodox nun who was talking about the, what it's like to be a Christian in Gaza. And I'm sure a lot of what she had to say, was true. But what's interesting to me, because I was talking about how I've seen anti-Semitism in certain areas, people who call themselves Catholics, I've seen the same thing among Greeks, because I am Greek, and I know where of I speak. And when we come back, we'll be talking about that. In a few minutes, I'm going to bring on my guest, Abner Boski, who's going to be talking to us.
Starting point is 00:29:23 about Christians and Jews, I think, will be the subject. He comes to me via my friend Ken Fish. But before that, we were just talking about Tucker Carlson had a guest on. I think her name was Sister Agapia. You know, you take, if you become a nun, you take a name. Agapi means love in Greeks, of course, Sister Agapia. But what's interesting, there's a few interesting things. First of all, I put out in a tweet, this sounds like a joke, but it's not a joke.
Starting point is 00:30:01 This is a Greek Orthodox nun who is living in Israel, in Gaza. And her last name, I noticed this, was Stephanopoulos. And I thought, I wonder if she's related to George Stephanopoulos because I have met George Stephanopoulos and I've met his father. his father was Father Bob Stephanopoulos, who was the head of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral in New York City. The week that I came to faith that I was born again in 1988 was when my Fiotaki, my uncle Taki, died. And at his funeral, I met Father Bob Stephanopoulos, right at this inflection point in my life. And I guess I wondered it would make sense that the daughter of a Greek Orthodox priest, like Father Bob Stephanopoulos, who's the father of George
Starting point is 00:30:54 Stephanopoulos, that his daughter might have become a nun. So I looked on the internet, and evidently, that's correct. Now, maybe somebody out there can do the research and tell me I'm wrong, but I would think that would be kind of a big deal to you're interviewing the sister of George Stephanopoulos. It's very loaded. I think that you ought to mention that.
Starting point is 00:31:20 And so it was very strange to me because she was presenting, I was mentioning, I think a lot of Greeks, they have like a jealousy of the Jews. There's an anti-Semitism among many Greeks. I've noticed this growing up. And you think, well, what is that? Well, it's kind of like you think, oh, why is Israel getting all the attention? Why the Jews get all attention? What about us? Like the Greeks, you know, we invented civilization.
Starting point is 00:31:48 We invented drama. we invented blah, blah, blah, blah, and on and on and on. All of which is kind of true, but if you see history as a zero-sum game, you're confused, right? Anything good comes up from God. And not to be able to, anyway, I've just noticed that, I guess, that it's kind of a, it's, sometimes it can be a competitive thing. And I am very proud to be Greek, but I'm also proud as a, Christian that we've been grafted in to the Jewish people. So I see them as my brothers. I rejoice that God chose them for his purposes in history to bring his Messiah out of the Jewish people, that his
Starting point is 00:32:36 plan of salvation, as you read it through the Old Testament, ends up opening to us, the Gentiles, the Greeks. So it's an interesting thing, and I thought that was a little bit in evidence. But in my tweet, I said that, yes, I can confirm, number one, this is the sister of George Stephanopoulos, and number two, I can confirm that the mustache is 100% authentic. And I think some people were offended by that. And they said, oh, you shouldn't make fun of a woman's appearance. And I thought to myself, excuse me, she was not born with the mustache. God did not give her the mustache anymore than he gave me the beard that I shave off every morning.
Starting point is 00:33:19 These are choices that we make. And if you're going to appear on what's in effect a national TV program, a huge program like Tucker Carlson, and you're a woman, and you think people aren't going to say, excuse me, excuse me, you're wearing a mustache, I think that's just ridiculous. It's absolutely ridiculous. And so if people think, in other words, I do think it is unseemly when a man, including Donald Trump, says something, nasty about Rosie O'Donnell's weight or something like that. I don't, I think that's wrong. This was another category. This is a woman who comes on Tucker Carlson with a mustache. And the idea that you're not supposed to mention that, she was not born with, this is not a birth defect, folks. This is a choice. So I don't, I, I, I, to me, it's really a different thing, you know.
Starting point is 00:34:13 It's just, it's just a really different thing. And I, I want to say that I do think that, it is wrong to make fun of somebody's looks. But when you're talking about that, that's like, that's a choice. You know, that's like if you wear a pinwheel hat, you weren't born with it. So if I make fun of that, it's not that like you were born with it. And I'm mocking God by making fun of the pinwheel hat. You chose to wear it to the interview. So I guess I had to get that off my chest in case anybody wanted to know how I feel about facial hair.
Starting point is 00:34:46 I have to ask, you know, as I have to. have I've got a mix of backgrounds of Irish, German, English, but also Cuban. And I don't know, I don't know if any of those ethnicities, I mean, maybe there's a little Cuban. I mean, do the Greek, are the Greeks known for their, their female mustachios? They are now, thanks to Sister Agapia, they are now. Speaking as a Greek, most, you know, most Greek women do not have mustaches. Now, the point is, Heath Jinta, you're Italian. Yeah, we understand.
Starting point is 00:35:20 We understand. You know, the people in southern, in southern Europe, the women may tend to have facial hair later in life, but they can get rid of it. Excuse me. Headline. Electrolysis now available. Bleaching now available. So, yes. But if you venture out into all.
Starting point is 00:35:48 all the comments on that interview, there are a huge number of people commenting on other features of Sister Agapia that indicate, and I'm sure some of your listeners right now would say, what is a woman? When you look at her, there are a lot of questions, and I'll just leave it at that. Okay, to me, that's not relevant. I think it's a woman with, listen, I have been, I have seen women with facial hair. And you want to say to them, excuse me, you should take care of that. But I think if you're going to be on like a huge program and you think people aren't going to bring that up, especially if the moustachio is significant, you know, if it's just a little hair, maybe we'll just, we'll let it go.
Starting point is 00:36:35 But you know what I think honestly? I think there are people, they're so religious, certain nuns probably, they think like, oh, grooming is vanity. So I don't believe in grooming. Maybe that's the conversation. Is grooming vanity? What kind of grooming constitutes vanity? Is getting a haircut vanity? Getting rid of a mustache vanity?
Starting point is 00:36:57 I say no. We'll be right back. Good folks. Welcome back. I want to. We have a guest coming up from Israel who believes in Jesus as the Messiah and who's going to talk to us about what it means to be a Jew, what it means to be a Christian, what Christians might think about their Jewish brothers and sisters, whether Jewish people are their brothers and sisters. So we'll be talking to Abner Boski in just a minute.
Starting point is 00:37:35 So a few things I want to get off my chest. Have we covered the mustache issue? I guess we've covered the mustache issue. But, Eric, there is one more thing to say there, and that was, Tucker Carlson's utter lack of pushback. If you look at how he went after Ted Cruz, it was relentless. And he sat with Sister Agapia,
Starting point is 00:38:00 and she was saying the most outlandish things. Like what? Oh, gosh. I'm only about three quarters of the way through it. But she was saying things that just were simply not true. But it was his lack of curiosity to even press. And he really heard himself a lot in that. I'd have to think because there was a lot.
Starting point is 00:38:20 As I was watching it, I couldn't believe it. He was silent with his look of intrigue. And it was really a bad showing for Tucker. Yeah, I mean, I think again, to get back to the, I think if you are born again, if you love Jesus, not if you identify as a Christian tribalist, you know, but if you love Jesus, if you've been born again, you have a love for the Jewish people. Now, we have to always say, this does not mean you agree with all of the policies of Benjamin Netanyahu's Israeli government. It doesn't mean. But I think if you are not born again, if you're not serious about your love of Jesus, if you've not given him your heart, you don't get that. You don't get it at all.
Starting point is 00:39:09 And I think that that's the case here. Okay, some things I want to get off my chest, maybe I'll have to do in the next segment. but I want to mention every time this happens constantly, and I think I've said it on the program, but I'll say it again and again. I cringe whenever anybody posts, our thoughts and prayers are with you, right? I am so sick of this because it's such garbage.
Starting point is 00:39:34 It's such nonsense. Our thoughts and our prayers are with you. Your prayers are with me. How are your prayers? prayers with me. This implies that there are prayers. Are you saying you're praying? Are you actually praying? Are you just talking about praying? Usually when people post, it's like when they say, Godspeed, they have no idea what to say, but they want to say something sort of nice. So they say our thoughts and our prayers are with you. I would like to say that I don't know what
Starting point is 00:40:06 that means, number one. Number two, the reason I don't know what it means is because actually it means nothing. If you say, we will pray for you. And, by the way, don't lie, actually do pray if you say you're going to pray for someone, well, that has value. You say, we're praying for you. But our thoughts and our prayers are with you. Just adding the word thoughts tells you everything you want to know, if it just said our prayers are with you, then you feel like, okay, maybe they're really praying and, you know, they're sort of stating it sloppily. But our thoughts and our prayers, this is kind of like our good feelings. we're sending good energy, which is what new age people say or secular people say.
Starting point is 00:40:47 They say, we're sending our good energy. And they mean well. But from a biblical perspective, it's utterly meaningless. And so when people get into this bad habit over and over of our thoughts and our prayers are with you, I just thought, I have to talk about that and say, you shouldn't say that. It's just silly. It's just, it's not evil, but it's just silly. It's meaningless.
Starting point is 00:41:09 It doesn't, you know, pray. to the living God, to the Lord of hosts. Pray to Jesus for someone. That's real. And don't say, well, keep you in our prayers. Does that mean you've actually been praying? I just don't talk about it. Actually do it. Actually pray. And then if you actually pray or will actually pray, well, then you can, you can let people know we're praying for you, which has meaning. And we'll be right back.
