It's a project. See You at the Library Project. I want to talk about that. I want to talk about the new kids TV show thing. But tell us briefly about the book, because I want to have you back when it comes out in October, and we can spend the whole episode talking about it. But just tell us what is it about? The book is called Born to Be Brave. And the subtitle is,

how to be part of America's spiritual comeback. And the question I ask people is, what if this current cultural setback is really a divine setup for a spiritual comeback, led by the family of faith? And we can talk about that when we have more time. But essentially, I wrote it during a time of COVID and everything else and battling drag queen's story hours. And it really unlocked something in me that I call new creation courage,

second birth bravery. And when I was writing children's books and reading them at public libraries and being denied by libraries that had previously held drag queen story hours because they didn't like my Christianity, this lit a fire in me and it has spread across the nation. And we had an event called See You at the Library where we were going to smash the Guinness Book of World Records for the world's largest drag queen story hour. Now, don't get any ideas. I didn't dress and drag for this, but they had the world's largest drag queen story hour with 263 people, and we knew we were going to get tens of thousands of people to show up at our wholesome Christian story hour, which we did in over 360 libraries across the nation in 50 states, and Guinness wouldn't even answer our phone calls. In fact, they denied three submissions on their website for them to come out and record this. So it was a phenomenal of success. We smash the record, and this reminds me that there is a secret, passionate majority of people out there

who are just looking for what to do, and they want to be a part of other heroic, brave people who want to turn this country around. And I'm feeling the rumblings of revival. It gets me very encouraged. Okay. You're singing my song, because I am too. I am too. There's no doubt about it. And again, revival, there's always going to be a holy remnant. It's not going to be everybody. There are going to be plenty of people that don't care or they've been persuaded. They shouldn't care. But there are so many in this nation who care. They're trying to raise their kids.

Some of them are already Christians. Some of them aren't quite. I see amazing things happening. And, well, I mean, the new book that you said, it's called Born to Be Brave. I'm trying to remember. Have you written books before? Like, this is a big one for you. No.

I've written some book for some kids on the kids. the fruit of the spirit and humility, things like that. And I had a biography that was written a long time ago called Still Growing, Playing Off the Growing Pain's title. But this is the first time I've written a book to put rocket fuel into the veins of parents whose children are being twisted and destroyed by bad ideologies in their kids' schools. The parents need to stand up. The parents need to lean in and not just say, oh, I feel sorry for our kids and grandkids. Sure is a good thing that the rapture is coming, so we won't have to deal with it. Man, I mean, you are so singing my song.

And, you know, I joke around with you a lot. But the reason I keep saying that you're in my book, Religinalist Christianity, is because in 2012, whenever you went on Pierce Morgan, you lived out your faith in the public square. Here you are, you know, you're the star of the sitcom. So many people know you. You're a public figure.

And you're in Pierce Morgan. You're asked, you know, in his incredibly annoying, provocative way, usually. You're asked about, you know, what about same-sex marriage? And you very lovingly said, you know, you believe marriage is between a man and a woman, you know, a really shocking, radical point of view held by most people since the beginning of history. And you caught such heck for saying it. And again, you said it lovingly. And so in the book, Religious Christianity, I use you as an example of what it is to use the platform God's given you, but also as an example of how many Christians said nothing to support you. They left you to hang out to dry.

And it just makes me so sick because I thought to myself, if Christians would speak up, especially Christian leaders, I'm not going to name them, but so many of them said nothing, I thought it's a shameful thing. And I think we're at a time where the Lord is really asking his people to speak up. And when someone like you speaks up, people need to support them and people need to stand up. So now you've kind of written a book about this. I mean, born to be brave. I talked to you about this the other day. And I hope this book is a bestseller, Kirk, because we need to get this out to the mainstream, you know, not just to a few people, but to the mainstream, that this is God's call.

calling our life and what a beautiful, beautiful thing it is. So let me ask you, since we're on the subject of the book, what made you decide, like, finally to write a book? Because I think a lot of people, they love you, and they're kind of, you know, warning what you're up to. You're doing all these projects. I'm really glad you wrote a book about it because people are going to want this book.

But what made you say, like, okay, it's time? Because I've got skin in the game. I've got six children, and now I've got a little granddaughter, and I am sick and tired of people. that the only people who are optimistic are the Marxists. The only people that are optimistic are people outside the family of faith, because most of the people I meet inside the family of faith are so pessimistic. They've gotten so discouraged, feeling like we're so far pushed back into our own end zone

on the football field of culture that there's no hope and they're giving up. And so the only hope is out there. If you can't beat them, join them kind of thing. And pastors are joining them and others are joining them. And I'm saying that is wrong. Eric, I'm so thankful for the books that you've written, seven great men, seven more great men, people like Wilberforce, people like Bonhoffer,

people like you, and others who throughout history have defied the odds against all hope when they were outgunned, outnumbered, outmaned. But what did they have? They had a vision of victory, and they had a birthright of courage, and they worked out their faith in love, and God then leveraged their efforts

to accomplish miracles, great awakenings and revivals. And I want to be that kind of person. And one of the things that I know from your books is that these great heroes of the faith, these great men and women throughout time, they probably didn't think that what they were doing was anything giant and heroic and that people hundreds of years later would be talking about it. They were just everyday people who were trying to be faithful where God had put them. And some of them were off in a corner somewhere, just like George Mueller or,

or a little couple ladies in the Hebrides Islands who were praying and revival breaks out. And then heroes are born, generations later, because of their faith upstream. This is what makes me say, if I'm faithful today, this could result in a massive tsunami wave of victory and blessing in generations to come. And so duty is mine, results of the Lord's. and that's the message that I want to get out to people. Well, I've got to say, I hope people listening to this right now, folks, will help this book to be a bestseller. It's born to be brave. We need this message.

We need it. The church needs it. We need to get excited and inspired. If you listen to this program, you know my heart on the border. What is going on there is it's a staggering nightmare. It is unprecedented in our history. It's deeply sick. It's evil. I want to get somebody on the program who really understands what is going on there. Now, if you listen to this program for a few years, you know that there are two people in my life named Jason Jones. One of them is a regular

guest on this program. Another one is somebody I know in other context. Today, the third Jason Jones comes on the program, but he spells his name differently. Jason is spelled J-A-E-S-O-N. Jason Jones, retired captain, Texas DPS, and on and on. Welcome to the program. Oh, thanks for having me. It's good to be with you. Well, listen, what you're doing, I'm very excited for my audience to hear about, you know, what you just told me off the air. It's an initiative. So, but give me the background on your, what is your background? What led you into what you're doing down on the border?

Well, I was pissed off. I was commanding the Texas Rangers cross-border operations center. I moved nine times across the state. And I had spent years working with U.S. intelligence agencies to save lives of Mexican citizens and migrants who are being brutally killed in mass murders in Mexico. So when I retired after 24 years and moving nine times across the state of Texas and the clandestine services, I went public for one percent, one real goal here, and that was to designate the Mexican cartels as foreign terrorist organizations,

and I've been at it for the last eight years now. Say that last part again. To designate the Mexican cartels, go ahead. As foreign terrorist organizations. And the goal there is to obtain new authority. to be able to go after them versus leveraging a law enforcement model, which by design moves very, very slowly. And then somehow along the way became Newsmax's national border correspondent

and to help get reach to the American people and change what's happening. Because they were being lied to by the media. Well, look, I cannot begin to tell you when I heard about this before I knew who was behind it, which is to say you, I got so excited about this. Because a lot of times you hear something you think, hey, wait a minute, How come no one's thought of that before? That seems pretty basic. I mean, what you're talking about with these cartels, you know, the idea that law enforcement

is dealing with that this is a national problem. This is a level of violence, evil, that cannot be compared to anything else. So when did you start this idea to designate them as a foreign terrorist organization, which they are? But when did you get that idea? And where is that in the process right now? Well, it was through the massive failure of what was taken place in Mexico and clearly seeing that we had failed in the United States for over 50 years doing the same thing, hoping for a different result. And then watching the evolution of these cartels go from organized crime prior to 06 into an insurgency where they were truly fighting back against their government, leveraging everything from surface to air missiles, RPGs, light anti-tank weapons in first, second, third, and fourth generation armored vehicles.

And that story was not getting out to the American people. Today we truly see them as a parallel government after going through mass murders in Mexico. You know, I worked the 72 people killed in San Fernando by the Los Zetas. I worked the 54 killed in the attacks at a casino in Monterey. The 300 men, women, and children killed, beheaded, chopped into pieces and gizzoed by the Los Zetas in Alende, Mexico. And yet all of this wasn't getting out because, the media was too focused on politics. And it matters. So fast forward now in the United States, the American people are very well aware of what the cartels are today, how they have become

the synergy between Middle East terrorist organizations, long haul smugglers, the Halcone network, the alien smuggling organizations, and U.S.-based street games. Because if you want to get into this country, you have to collaborate with them, period. That's the way it really works. A problem. is that the American people haven't been told. And this level of failure that we have had is truly unprecedented. And that's why I say all the time that what we have been witnessing is the largest U.S. intelligence failure since 9-11, period. I mean, when you phrase it as you've just done, it's pretty obvious that that's correct.

There's just, there's no doubt about it. Now, look, a lot of people think that the left in this country are using this for political gain. So this is where it gets confusing to me because you think this is pretty basic. We can't let people in across our border. But it doesn't seem to me that, I mean, Kamala Harris, for example, has tried. I mean, when you mentioned what you just said, this to me just seems like kind of an obvious solution and a way to go. Remind me again where we are in this process, because this seems to me an extraordinary solution. Well, here's, the American people have been sold that what's happening at your border is an immigration issue.

And that's absolutely true. That's part of it. That's one layer of it. But that's the, of all the things we're dealing with, that's the easiest one to fix. There's not a terrorist organization in the world that is responsible for over 300,000 American deaths through the poisonings, through fentanyl, parapentanyl, serifentanyl, now mixing in xylizal and Netazine into that deadly drug. We've never been here as a nation.

The Mexican cartels are solely responsible for, but what the American people are told is, well, they're working as proxies to China because China's kicking our butt on every front. Now, that's the real truth of it. But what you get with the terrorism designation and what is so important for the American people to understand is this does not mean we are going to war against them. What we are trying to obtain is new authorities. And by getting the new authorities, it allows us to do three main things. One, most of the cartels of the tens of thousands that are here domestically are here on visas.

Remember, they have money. So it allows us to revoke those visas very rapidly because you can't be a terrorist or a country and get them removed. I don't have to work $200,000, $300,000-plus,000 investigations on them for two years. Second, it allows us to limit their mobility globally. Now they're not flying all over the world. Look, when you think of the Seneloa cartel for the folks out there watching, they're in 54 countries. That's the largest cartel in Mexico and globally. Cartel, Halisco, new generation is operating in over 48 nations.

The problem is the American people aren't told this. And then third and final, you always hear this from these so-called pundits that we've got to go after the money. Well, I've got news for you. No kidding. We've been doing that for 20 years. The problem is the American people aren't told that's an investigation. If we designate them as terrorists outside the United States, I want to be very clear here, domestically, we'll always leverage the Fourth Amendment and will always conduct investigations.

but outside the country, we can go after those assets very rapidly, very quickly. And as somebody that has targeted the leadership of the cartels, we don't have to go to war. We can leverage network theory, build a unified command globally with partners, and go after key nodes within these organizations to absolutely crush them. The problem is, though, the United States intelligence agencies haven't communicated any of this to the American people. That's why I'm doing what I'm doing. And you speculate on why they have not communicated any of this to the American people.

Yeah, I used to think it was a left and right issue. Let me tell you what I've learned. They have lost the ability to communicate. They really have. I brief senators, I briefed congressmen, I briefed state reps at every level all across the country privately. And you'll be stunned at what I hear. The very first question now, you know what I ask them? Is when was the last time you were briefed, either classified or unclassified by U.S. intelligence agencies or federal law enforcement? They all say the same thing. They're not getting briefed. Now, if you're a part of certain select committees, you do get briefed. But outside that, you're not. So if you're on the left, your intelligence apparatus is MSNBC and CNN. If you're on the right, it's Fox News and Newsmax.

That's where we are. And so when I come in and I really lay this out and I show them the evolution of these cartels and what they've become and why we're where we are and why they're the synergy between all the dark networks that I mentioned a little while ago, they're stunned. And they say, my God, Jason, when did this happen? And that's why the open border policies are such a failure because we open the borders up, not just to Mexico, but to the world and the world's problems. And so now the 12.5 million people that have come from all over the world, not just the Latin American countries, get ready, America. We're in a new era, and we're in a new era of a public safety crisis, the likes of which Americans have never witnessed. And you're just beginning

to see it play out. And those experts that come on and talk about national security and the national security of this. I just laugh. That's a bygone era now in the new world where we are. What do you mean when you say that's a bygone era? In other words, because you say it's not about national security. What do you mean? Well, national security is about preventing the problem from coming here. Once you open your borders to the world in 171 agencies, I mean, countries, then what you ended up doing was allowing those world's problems to walk among us. You are now seeing that play out. Look at the sexual assaults taking place of women. across the nation. Look at the children that are being killed. Look at the women that are being

killed and attacked. This is a whole new framework with which we are in domestically that is going to, and remember I said this, it will change federal law enforcement forever. We are going to have massive shifts in the next decade on this because of what we've allowed. And a great example for everyone watching right now is Threnda Aragua. You're being told about a dangerous gang coming in from Venezuela. What you're not being told about Thren There, I, when I've been down there, I was there on the ground in 2022, when they were crossing from Juarez into El Paso. Their whole reason for being here are disruption operations, much, much bigger than what you're seeing right now take place.

And the Aurora incidents in the apartment complexes and what you're seeing in Chicago with Trend Day or Iowa, get ready. That's just the beginning. Jason, hang on a second. You were just talking about these Venezuelan gangs, and they're all about disruption. where's this coming from? Who wants to disrupt what is happening in America?

Maduro. And everyone in the United States intelligence agencies know it. Look, I've talked to Border Patrol intel on the border. I've just talked to the state police intel down on the border. They're getting the debriefs from these guys, and they all know it. And Americans will be seeing it play out much more than you're seeing it right now. But look, here's the real takeaway. And they're going to start, Trinderao, we'll start working with the Sareños.

they'll start collaborating hand in hand with other Latin American gangs. But the real thing here that you have to understand of where we are is that when you opened our borders, as the administration has done to the world and the world's problems, we don't have the capabilities domestically to change towards these new threats. And that's what's going to be taking place. Great example is threatened there. That's just one of so many other issues. Think of all the spies that have been allowed in to our country.

Look at the terrorist organizations. that have now been able to be breached. I mean, in 2023, for example, we had 169 people on the terrorism watch list cross at the southwest border. Those are numbers we have never seen. I mean, when I was commanding the Texas Rangers Cross Border Operations Center under Obama,

I think in his worst year, he had six. And we thought that was something. So the synergy behind these cartels working hand in hand with all of the dark networks globally, Well, we opened Pandora's box when we allowed them to cross through Mexico into our borders. But what is there? I mean, a couple questions. First of all, seems preposterous to me not to assume that the current administration desires this for some reason, desires this instability.

I mean, if these numbers have gone to what you're talking about, I don't understand how it's impossible not to conclude that. In any event, Maduro, why do these folks want to? to bring destabilization to the U.S. spell that out because we're not. Yeah, yeah. You have to understand, look at what we've been doing down there in Venezuela against Maduro for many, many years, right? We've countered that narrative on what they're doing down there for a very long time. And so, look, we opened our borders. He unleashed all of these people toward the United States, and it's helping fund many of Thranda Aragua's travels into the U.S. This is all going to come out. And that's what I do every day down in the national news. And I love it, man, because I tell you,

I have a great voice to be able to do that and expose what law enforcement is seeing. And that's really what's a little different about what I do. I embed with law enforcement all over the nation and all along the border and try to show what they're going through, what they're dealing with and illuminate that. Because that's the closest we can get between the media to really get out what's happening. Are we talking about a communist revolution? Why is Maduro doing this? He doesn't like the United States. And what better way to conduct disruption operations here by sending your worst criminals here?

And that's exactly what he's doing. Let me just tell you the granularity of this. We know actual locations through debriefs of Trend They are Iowa operatives where they were training prior to being sent up here. So look, the American people have to understand that's just one part of it. Then you're going to have the spies that have come across from China. We've had over 100,000 people from China across into this country. You don't even have enough people in logistics to do proper background investigations who speak Mandarin to determine who isn't and who isn't working for the Chinese government.

So that's why I say when I talk about this new era that we're in in public safety, Americans are starting to feel it play out. You're seeing it in your communities. You're hearing about these deaths. You're hearing about the sexual assaults. this is the beginning of what's going to be playing out all across this country more and more every day. And if you notice, too, as we're talking about this, every day you hear about a new crime that's been committed against somebody who's illegally. I mean, look at the 14-year-old girl just stabbed last week.

Watching sitting there watching a baseball game and an illegal alien ran up with a knife and started stabbing her for no reason. Had no correlation or relationship. This is what you get when you open these borders up. to the world. Well, look, there's a lot of stuff that's here. First of all, someone else is behind this, right? This is not just Maduro. This is probably China. Is it not? And there's who wants the United States to be weakened? You know, it's one thing for us to use somebody's gripe. Maduro has a gripe. But who, you know, who is really behind this? I would, I would just guess China would have to be behind this. Funding Maduro? I don't know. You know, well, you got to remember

And the context with which we were talking about is directly linked to Thrande Aragua, right? The main gang that operates down there. That's why I know that's directly linked to Maduro. China make no doubt, look, they're the best at non-conventional warfare. We all know it clearly. They've been collaborating and working sending NPP and into a MPP into Mexico so the cartels can manufacture deadly fentanyl. That's who they originally were doing that through. leveraging the cartels as a proxy.

Now, the cartels are working around them now in India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. But make no doubt, China's the best at that, and we all know it. And what did we expect? I mean, I ask, can you reason we'll improve American listening right now? What did we expect when we opened our borders to the world? Did we really think they were going to send their best and brightest to us? So we're going to be dealing with this for a long time. And I've been on the border seeing what's crossing down there.

And the level of gang members and criminals that have been crossing our southern border is absolutely stunning. I don't like to hear this, but I know it's true and we need to hear it. A criminality seems like a quaint word for what is going on down there, for what is happening to the nation. We're seeing it everywhere. Most people are completely baffled. What could be happening?

And I want to say, again, Jason Jones, my guest, it doesn't seem possible that the Biden administration, quote unquote, is not somehow wanting this to happen. Because if they didn't want it to happen, they would go to war. They would do something. I don't mean literally go to war, but they would do something. They would understand that this is a cancer that has entered the bloodstream of America, that this is not a small thing.

So, you know, you can say it's not political, but I don't know how. if you have an administration that really doesn't care or that seems to think that this is going to benefit them or what they want, same thing with China. I mean, if you are not aware of, you know, the fifth generation warfare coming at you from China, you're a naive idiot or you're complicit. You're opening the door somehow. So I want to talk about that for a moment. Does it not seem obvious to you that this administration is aware of what's going on and is somehow, looking the other way for some reason? Well, first off, they're responsible for it. Now, let me explain because the data clearly validates. When the Biden administration came into office, what did they first do? They began creating exemptions, first exemptions for or for unaccompanied children. What did we see at the Southwest?

Or mass numbers of unaccompanied children. That's why we've had over 500,000 since the Biden administration took office. Second, they started creating exemptions for family units. then different countries, country after country after country. Then what did they also do? Then we started to see these massive numbers crossing at the southwest border. But where were they crossing? They were crossing between the ports of entry, collaborating with the cartel.

So as they were being sexually assaulted, as they were being murdered, and this was not looking good to the Democratic Party in the Biden Harris administration, what did they do? In 2022, they created the CBP1 app, which allows people not only in Mexico, but from around the world to fill out that app, and if they do a preliminary background investigation, and now they can fly into the United States or they can cross it to southwest border.

For the folks watching right now, since January of 2023, 1.2 million people have come into this country under the CBP 1-Ap.1 now. What is that? That is a parallel immigration system we've never had in this country. When you claim humanitarian parole, the law is very clear that it is to be

judged on a case-by-case basis. That's why 16 different states right now are suing the administration for what they've done under the CBP 1-M. And now they're expanding it. So if you're listening right now and you wonder, why is it you have so many Cubans, why do you have so many Haitians in the United States? Why do you have so many Venezuelans and Nicaraguanians? That's because those are the four main countries the CBP-1-M allows into the nation. And now what did we learn this morning? That it's being enhanced. In Mexico, who has been holding back the numbers because, you know, you're hearing from the mainstream media that the numbers of the southwest border between the ports of entry are dropping. That is true.

What they've not done is told you the why. That's because last December, the U.S. government and the Mexican government created an agreement that the Mexican government would start holding the line. We call that metering. It's well known in the community how it works. That's where down in the state of Chiapas, the Mexican government has been holding large groups of migrants from crossing through Mexico. Now they're going to meter that. And what that means is they're going to start releasing so many into the United States by crossing through Mexico on buses to keep them out of the hands of the alien smuggling organizations and out of the hands of the cartels.

And they're going to be delivering them directly to U.S. Customs and Border Protection on the ports of entry. So to answer your question, did this government create this problem? And do they have the logistics in place and the processes to get these people here? I think I just outlined it perfectly as to how they've done. done it and how they're doing it. Well, again, I just see this as evil. I see this as people working with our enemies to destroy America. It's unfathomable to me that people could vote for Joe Biden or Kamala Harris, knowing that any of this is half true, much less all true. It doesn't seem possible

to me. And it's hard for me really to understand how it is. that this administration would want to destroy America because I don't see any other conclusion. Any normal American listens to this stuff and says there's no other conclusion. There's not some other thing that I'm missing. What am I missing? So this seems really evil. It seems designed to destroy the country. I would have to think that this has something to do with China.

I don't know what kind of money Joe Biden took from China over the years. but it doesn't make any other sense. None of this does. What happened in Afghanistan, giving $87 billion worth of our stuff to the Taliban. None of this stuff makes sense unless you have people actively working against the United States from within the United States government.

I simply can't understand how else it could make sense. You know, I don't know what their motives are. I'm with you. I truly don't, but I can tell you the damage done from this will be unprecedented. As somebody that's been stationed on your southwest border since 1999 as a Texas highway patrolman who has worked as an undercover narcotics agent in Brownsville, Texas, who was a lieutenant on Laredo, Texas, as the war between these cartels kicked off.

This is the perfect storm. And when we talk about the data and just how bad it really is to all the folks watching, especially up in the Northeast, because I know you guys don't get a lot of what's taking place down here. Go to CBP website. type in national encounters and don't listen to anything I'm saying look at the data yourselves it is incredible we have never been where we are all the terrorist information numbers i just gave you all of the data i just gave you about the numbers across the countries that have come it's all there

the problem is they hide it and you don't know where to look and so that's why i'm telling you where to go there's a reason that guys like me have come out publicly and doing what we're doing now because we know the impacts to this those of us who have worked the border who know these cartels very, very well and how they become the synergy or the nucleus to all of this. And as the Biden administration opened up this border, get ready. You think it's bad right now. It will get worse. And, you know, don't give me wrong.

I'm not here to scare you. I'm here to tell you the truth. What you should be told by the Homeland Security Enterprise. That's their role. We'll fix this. It will get fixed eventually. But it's going to be tough on the nation. And it's going to be in the blood of U.S. citizens.
