Welcome to the Eric Mataxis show. Did you ever see the movie The Blobs starring Steve McQueen?
The blood-curdling prep of The Blub.
Well, way back when Eric had a small part in that film, but they had a small part in that film, but they had a
cut his scene because the blob was supposed to eat him, but he kept spitting him out.
Oh, the whole thing was just a disaster.
Anyway, here's the guy who's not always that easy to digest.
Eric the Texas!
Hey there, folks.
Welcome back.
As you know, right now, we're doing our annual campaign with food for the poor.
They are heroes.
They are feeding hungry children.
They're getting clean drinking water.
to people who do not have that.
Try to imagine that.
It's hard for us sometimes to imagine that.
So I thought maybe if I bring on somebody from food for the poor, she could help us.
Anitra Parmali is my guest.
Anitra, welcome.
Thank you so much for having me.
And you're exactly right.
It's hard when for us water, somebody challenged me and said, can you count the ways that you could get drinkable water just within a couple steps?
I mean, I'm in South Florida.
So with hurricanes, I know I could literally drink from my toilet tank if necessary.
So the tub, the ice maker of my refrigerator, the faucets, the garden spicket outside, all of them provide me access to water.
But when you travel to Guatemala, Honduras, Haiti, you recognize that that is not the reality for so many of these families.
Water is muddy and bacteria infested, and it's also often a mile walk away.
I mean, these young girls, and usually women, are traveling hours every day just to carry water that they know is going to make them sick, but they have no alternative until you, your gift is going to change that.
I mean, again, I have to say, folks, I hope this pulls at your heartstrings because this is, it's real.
Imagine having a young daughter who has to walk very, very far.
We're not talking, you know, 100 feet.
We're talking a mile, two miles, like to walk far to bring back water.
Water is heavy.
I happen to know it's eight pounds a gallon.
So just five gallons is 40 pounds.
How do you carry that?
This is what we're talking about.
It's unbelievable poverty in our own hemisphere.
And the only good news is you can do something about it,
which is why we partner with food for the poor.
I say to everybody, go to metaxis talk.com.
You'll see the banner.
You can give monthly.
If you give monthly, maybe that's easier for you.
But I always, everybody knows we got to do something,
doing a little bit, food for the poor.
or is such a reputable organization is why we partner with them.
So the easiest way is just going to Metaxistalk.com.
But Anitra, talk about the food situation.
Again, it's hard for us who we all have too much food.
We're dieting in America.
We can't imagine.
What would it be like?
I can't feed my kids.
I mean, it's very hard for us to imagine it.
And I love what Mariah said.
She says, I give out of gratitude, not out of guilt.
This is not an either or.
We're excited for the blessings that you have.
We're just inviting you to share some of them.
I mean, the reality is devastating.
I mean, you've traveled, you have stood in front of these families,
and we're hearing stories of mothers boiling rocks.
And when you see the pan innocently, we asked, oh, so what are you cooking?
And shamefacedly, she said, I don't have anything.
I'm praying that my children fall to sleep before they
realize there's no food. I mean, that's the reality. These are our mothers that are giving their
children twigs, not because they're abusive, but to silence the hunger pangs. And that could be
devastating if we left it there. But today you can make it an ordinary day, extraordinary,
a one-time gift of $50 because of a match, meal for meal by a generous donor to food for the poor.
the impact of your gift is going twice as far.
$50 right now provides a child food for a year.
I mean, imagine telling a mother whose children hadn't eaten for one, two, three days,
you're going to have food security for the next 365 days,
and it helps a community gain access to water.
I mean, the impact is transformational.
I want to be real clear, folks.
This is very important.
I want everybody there, everybody listening to do something.
So go to Metaxistalk.com or text Eric to 51555.
Text Eric to 51555.
Please do it.
Anitra, thank you.
Hey there, folks.
I got to remind you, we've got a lot of exciting guests, a lot of exciting conversations
on this program, not just exciting, but I hope important conversations, sometimes
entertaining.
but we have a number of sponsors on the program that we partner with to make this possible.
And I want you to know who they are.
First of all, number one, as you know, my friend Mike Lindell.
If you're inclined to help this program, if you're inclined to help Mike Lindell, who's a patriot,
go to MyPillow.com.
Use the code Eric.
Please tell your friends to use the code Eric at MyPillow.com.
If you go to MyStore.com, you get most of my books there.
Great prices on some of them.
Really great.
I mentioned my Miracle's book.
rate price, use the code Ericmystore.com or my pillow.com. Another partner, Alliance for
I'm sorry, Americans for prosperity. We talk about them all the time on the program. They are America's
largest grassroots organization. And what are they fighting for? Oh, I don't know. The American
dream. Yeah, their priorities are kind of simple, which is why we partner with them. They want to
secure the border. Imagine that. They want to end inflation. Imagine.
that. They want to make energy more affordable. All these things are possible. Okay. And how do they do it?
Well, they believe in grassroots activism. That's called America. That's called like-minded people
working together to keep the republic. So we have to work together to defeat the left's big government
agenda. And that's where Americans for Prosperity helps us. You've got the media,
celebrities, universities, stacks against us. So the grassroots in America is what helps
us win, please find an Americans for Prosperity chapter in your state and get in the fight.
By the way, you are the grassroots in case you didn't know.
Go to Americansforprosperity.org.
Americans for Prosperity.org.
And also, another partner we have in the program is the Herzog Foundation.
I've talked about them.
When people say to me, hey, Eric, what can I do?
Things are going to hell.
One thing you can do is get your kids and grandkids and neighbors into quality.
Christ-centered education or homeschooling, which is about the same thing, right?
But how do you do that?
Well, the Herzog Foundation exists to help you do that.
They're fantastic.
And so they're a resource, just like Americans for Prosperity.
So go to HerzogFoundation.com.
Herzog Foundation.com.
There's just all kinds of stuff to see at HerzogFoundation.com.
But they're there to help, just like our friends at Americans for Prosperity,
Herdsog Foundation.com.
Before I let you go, before we get back to the fun, let me remind you, we're doing a
fundraiser for food for the poor.
They reach out to the hungriest and the poorest people in the world in our own hemisphere.
Again, when I read this this past week, the statistic, there's 17 countries they deal with
in Latin America, Central America, they tell us that in Guatemala, this is one of the countries
where they work, 50% of the kids under age five, nearly 50, not quite 50, close to 50% of the kids
under five years old suffer from chronic malnutrition. It's incomprehensible, folks.
So they come to us so that we will help them do what they do. If you give $100,
to food for the poor, you go to metaxus talk.com.
If you give $100, it feeds a kid for a year, two nutritious meals a day.
This is $100 American dollars feeds a kid for a year, two nutritious meals a day,
365 days a year, folks.
That's how far they can stretch your dollar, okay?
They work hard.
That's why we partner with them.
You have to go to Metaxus talk.com.
That's the website.
You'll see the banner.
You can call.
You can text Eric to 51555.
Please do this, folks.
Text Eric to 51555 or call 844-863 Hope.
That's 844-863 Hope.
Please do this today.
You'll feel better.
844-863 Hope.
844-8663 Hope or Metaxist Talk.com.
You'll see the banner.
God bless you.

Sometimes we try,
we fail. We try to get,
we try to get the best guests.
And you know what? We're human beings.
Sometimes we just don't get what we want.
And we just have to process.
And so right now, for example,
unfortunately I have Jared Lamaster from the Babylon B.
Jared, I'm sorry, you're the best we could do
on short notice. Welcome to the program.
Well, this is the best,
I could get on short notice as well.
So. Yeah. So you know what?
We're just using each other. It's just it is what it is. It is what it is. We always
just and we fail. So we're grasping at the stars.
We're grasping. We're grasping. Now, on a positive note, I see behind you that impressive
biography of Dietrich Bonhofer.
Yeah.
came back 2010. It really changed the landscape of the evangelical world temporarily.
And so, so congratulations to you pretending to read such a weighty work, I have to say,
because I know you personally, I know you're not capable of getting through a book like that,
but just the fact you didn't think that you could.
Well, strange enough, Eric, I did try, and it was just incredibly boring.
I think that was the big issue that I had with it.
It bogs down in the middle, if you're into this.
not is not up to it. It just becomes the strain. Well, it wasn't just the middle. It was,
see, books work this way. They start at the beginning. Then they move to the middle and then they go
all the way to the end. In each section, I found to be like slogging through the slough of
despond. I'm sorry, Jerry. What did you say? I tuned out because you're, you're just not
that effective of a communicator. You couldn't hold my attention. Listen, we need to move on. We need to
move on. Jared LeMaster with Babylon B.
Welcome to the program. Welcome
to the program. We might edit out some
of that because, you know, I hate to make you
look as bad as you really are. I don't
want to do that, okay? It's not right.
And so Jared LaMastor with Babylon B, listen,
you got a lot going on
in your life. For example,
you seem
in a lot of these funny sketches
that you and the Babylon B create,
you seem to
be cast in the role literally of
the devil and the most one i think it's titled something like you know satan uh it tells the democrats
they need to tone down the evil it was kind of like he was trying to be uh a for a voice of wisdom
among the evil democrats that they it was very funny it's been out for a while if people
haven't seen it where can they see that because it's really worth checking out oh yeah you should
see it's uh it's on youtube it's on the baby's youtube uh page so be easier yeah
Yeah, it's easy.
I mean, you know, it's not that hard to find it.
The Babylon B's YouTube page.
Have you heard of the Babylon B here?
Not ringing any bills, but I'm open.
Yeah, that's where we're going to be, yeah, showing most of our stuff there.
Yeah.
Yeah, but we, yeah, the Babylon B's, Staten Sketch, that was a lot of fun.
We did it great.
It was a lot of fun to shoot.
Siaka Mastikwa, or as I like to call them,
Siaqa Mathi Kow was also in that sketch.
And he, I don't know if you know who he is, but he's a wonderful guy.
FBI's after him.
He's an actor.
Really good dude.
FBI's after him for his 71 second cross into the Capitol building on that fateful day.
What are the things are you working on that we can talk about?
All right.
So the Satan sketch is coming out.
out. And let's see. Yeah, I love that sketch. We had Kira Davis. And basically we all, we just
kind of sat around at Satan sitting down with a bunch of Democrats and saying, well, it's a bunch of
progressive world leaders. And he sits down and he kind of looks at each of them and he says,
look, you're doing great. Could you possibly tone it down just a little bit with the evil?
Is that a possibility? And they react. They react to
the way you'd expect from these people.
So you have to watch it. It's very fun.
I know, but it's also, it is hilarious because it's the idea that, you know,
it's like Satan's trying to say like, hey, hey, hey, I'm supposed to be, you know,
I'm supposed to come across as an angel of light.
We know I'm the Prince of Darkness, but I'm supposed to come across as an angel of light,
because I'm all about deception. Did you not get the memo?
It's about deception.
You're supposed to be leaving people.
That's supposed to be open about this.
that's right yeah so he's basically just saying look and i think it's so funny to kind of treat the devil
like he's you know some sort of just normal guy that's like you know hey listen we're all
trying to get along here you know like he's like a you know hey hey how you doing uh so i like the
idea or like that when we did the devil response to roe v wade where it's like a post game
interview he's kind of depressed you know like it's like to me that's such a funny
He's like, game interview.
I forgot about that because that's exactly what it was.
It was like a post.
You know,
you ever watch those coaches and they're,
they're always kind of like,
yeah,
you know,
we could have,
we could have done better tonight.
But don't count us out.
You know,
like we got a great defensive team.
You know,
like you see those guys and what if,
you know,
the devil was like over after his big wins.
You know,
we still have Nancy Pelosi.
You know,
we still got,
you know,
we still got David French.
We still got, you know, I was going to say someone.
We still got Russell Moore.
And actually, if you've talked to Megan Basham yet, we've still got, you know, Rick Warren.
I have, no, no, I have, you didn't know, but last week I spoke to her at length about her new book Shepherds for sale.
And I've been reading the book.
And I have to say that we're living in historic times.
The radical left, you know, the radical left, the Marxist left, has infiltrated the evangelical
church in America.
And to some extent, that's exactly what my book letter to the American church is about.
It's what my book, Religionless Christianity is about, is the idea that, and again, you know,
it's getting to the character of evil and the character of Satan.
He doesn't come across and say, I am evil, follow me.
He says, I'm good.
a different view of good. Open your mind up to my view of what's good and bad. And maybe you're,
maybe you're being a little hasty. Listen to this. That's kind of how the evangelical church has been
subverted over time. And what's always interesting to me, and this is part of the story of the book
Shepherds for sale, is that it is complicated. In other words, you have people that they're kind of
caught flat foot and they're trying to be reasonable at a time.
when you should not be reasonable.
You should say, we're in a war.
There are people shooting at my head.
I need to get down and then figure out a way not to get killed.
They're saying, no, no, let's be reasonable.
And so in that moment of let's be reasonable,
they are allowing all kinds of garbage to come in.
So many, many evangelical churches have opened the door to the devil,
to Marxist, atheistic ideas,
because they feel that it makes them look reasonable.
They don't want to be, oh, like those fun.
fundamentalists like those that they don't want to be like those people that they have been trying to
they've been spending decades trying not to look like suddenly they're in a position where you
kind of have to look like that you've got to fight you've got to stand up for clear truth and they
just caught and so now you just mentioned all those names Rick Warren I mean Rick Warren
he opened the door at Saddleback Church to some of this yeah the journey embrace the journey
Yeah, it's a really, to me, it's surprising because what I find is that there's well-meaning pastors out there.
And this kind of goes back to the devil being an angel of light, just like our sketch.
It's like they just don't want to be looked at like they're not cool.
I think that's part of it, that they're not hip, they're not rational or reasonable.
Yeah.
And so they allow themselves to kind of like embrace some of this language.
And even it starts with the language and then it moves even further.
and a lot of these people aren't taking money,
but they're still refusing to believe
that some of the stuff is going on,
like in Andy Stanley.
They still believe that Andy Stanley is like Orthodox or whatever.
See, this is fascinating, right?
It's fascinating that people like Andy Stanley and others
have flat out gone heretical.
But even Andy Stanley, you know, when a person goes heretical,
they don't know that they've gone heretical.
They just feel like, no, it's more nuanced.
more complicated and and I and I think that really what it comes down to Jared is discernment right like
you have to have a discernment moment where you say whoa now is not the time to look cool now is the
time to stand for truth and in the end that will end up looking way cooler but right now I'm
about being well and having the right people praise me well God uses the foolish things of the world
to shame the wise and I always said this too it's interesting because
you know, being a Christian filmmaker, it's always like you want to, you want to make great films.
You want to make good things.
But then what you do, you see these movies that I would consider pretty cheesy.
And everyone comes up to me and they're like, you know what the real turning point in my life was when I watched X, you know, some cheesy Christian movie.
God really got a hold of my heart.
And I'm like, see, this is the thing.
God uses the dump that cheesy things.
Well, he can.
It doesn't mean we're aiming for cheesy.
Just shame the cool.
We're not aiming for cheesy folks.
I'm talking to Jared Lamaster.
He's usually not this thoughtful, so definitely stick around.
You don't want to miss this.
About the road to happiness through love and charity, why you think he's talking straight to you and me.

Folks, welcome back.
I'm talking to Jared LaMaster of the Babylon B.E.
Not a real newspaper.
It's a satire.
It's a whole, spooky satire thing.
It's fake news.
It's fake news you can trust.
Let me ask you, I want to talk to you about some of these projects that you're working on.
But you just mentioned you kind of cavalierly threw it in there that you say, well, embrace the journey.
Most people aren't aware of this.
And this is why I stop and I repeat it because I know that most good people in America who go to churches,
they're not aware of the ugly stuff that's going on.
They're not aware that people that you would have considered trustworthy like Rick Warren,
for example, open the door at Saddleback to something called Embrace the Journey,
which is a totally subversive pro-gay agenda.
Funded by Andy Stanley.
Funded by Andy Stanley, by Andy Stanley, and worse.
And it has infiltrated the church.
You have Russell Moore and David French put together a curriculum called After the Party,
which is, listen to this satanic deception.
they pretend that this is the Christian way to deal with politics.
It purports to be nonpartisan.
It purports to make the claim that we shouldn't be political.
All the while, it is being dramatically leftist political.
And the key is that they're able, because of their names and because of the way the world has worked and everybody's not paying attention,
they're able to put this stuff into mainstream megachshundated.
churches, most of the leadership of which is not wise enough to understand, oh, the wolf is at the
door.
I'm not letting this in.
They kind of let in, oh, it's Rick Warren.
Oh, it's, it's Russell Moore Christianity today.
Having no idea that Russell Moore and Andy Stanley and a lot of the people pushing this stuff,
Francis Collins is in the book, Holy Catholic, you got to read that chapter.
That guy's a piece of work.
Yeah.
Well, this stuff is so dark.
And most of us don't want to believe it.
We're like, well, but I know him.
He was, he's okay.
He's okay.
So Megan Bashman's book Shepherds for sale, it brings, it's like the receipt.
This is, this is, you got to read it.
And, you know, follow the money.
You'll find that George Soros is funding a lot of this stuff.
He's critical of Tim Keller, not in a harsh way.
I mean, I love Tim Keller, but I think he made some mistakes, particularly in the latter years.
He was trying to be very reasonable.
And there comes a time when that.
can go wrong. So she's not, there's nothing ad hominem in her book. And I think people, people should read it.
People should understand what has happened and why when you send your kid off to some, you know,
evangelical church youth group, they may not be coming home with the ideas you hoped they were coming
home with. This is very much. Definitely, definitely read the book and get it. There's been a lot of a,
there's been a lot of pushback from the evangelical groups that she targeted. And it's fantastic.
So go out and get it.
And I asked her about it.
When I talked to her, I asked her, I was like, hey, how do you deal with this kind of pushback?
You know, because you have to kind of get used to the pushback if you're going to stand up and say something.
I know, Eric, you've experienced that.
We at the Babylon Bee, you've experienced it a lot.
And she was just like, oh, well, I was just born with this thing where I don't care.
So I was like, I had to get over it.
I had a period where when we started to make these videos and started to really call out some of the stuff like the LGBTQ lobby.
and stuff, the stuff that really was, we think, damaging to, like, kids and things that are
trying to push these agendas in schools.
And some of the kickback, some of the pushback we got was from people that are very dear to me.
And so it was, like, devastating for me to get that pushback.
And, you know, as an actor, as an entertainer, whatever, you always want to be on good terms
with everybody.
And so I just had to get over that.
I had to get over this feeling that I really care about what do people think and just sort of
push forward with telling the truth.
And I love that Megan Batcham is doing that and the Babylon Bs doing that.
And yeah, we've gotten in trouble for that.
And we got in trouble for some of our other sketches like woke Jesus.
Like that's the like, you know, the next one that we're doing.
Woke Jesus.
If you haven't seen it, it's awesome.
And you, because you've got such range, unbelievable range, sometimes you play
Satan, sometimes you play Jesus.
That's the greatest range any actor has ever shown.
So the embodiment of good and the embodiment of evil,
I have to say that's simply unbelievable.
I don't think Lawrence Olivier had that kind of range.
I just want to take that.
Wow, that's, now you're compliment.
You were insulting me earlier.
Yeah, you're complimenting me.
This is a strange day.
I feel like I'm on a roller coaster.
Well, it's also possible that I'm just being sarcastic and saying whatever comes into my mind,
that I'm not really complimenting you.
But we will let the voters decide in November.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's good.
What other projects that you've been working on,
Jared and Pastor of the Belmont?
If you check out woke Jesus,
it's an interesting take on,
the idea is if Jesus actually said the things that the progressive church,
like people like Russell Moore and some of these other people that are masquerading,
assessed that he said.
So we talked about climate change.
So Jesus ends up,
I tried to play Jesus as close to what I feel like Jesus is.
and as real as I could.
And that's kind of an approach to comedy that I have is that, you know,
the best way to do comedy is to have an absurd situation and play it very real.
And it's situational humor, observational humor.
You know, you can do comedy with big characters and things like that, too.
There's a lot of good comedians like Mike Myers or whatever that can do these math of characters.
And I like that, too.
But really, the best comedy is when it's a real situation that's just,
or an absurd situation with a real character.
in it. And so with woke
Jesus, it was kind of like that where you
he just played Jesus for real.
But make him say something like, blessed are,
you know, don't suffer the children to come onto me.
You know, unless
they're born into poverty.
Or they, you know, might be a hindrance
to your party lifestyle.
In that case, feel free to murder them in the world.
This is horrible stuff. We'll be right back.
Yeah.
Welcome back. We're talking to Jared Lamass.
with the Babylon B.
You could check them out on their YouTube channel.
I am so glad that you guys at the Babylon B are doing sketch comedy and this kind of thing.
Because to do written comedy, to do written humor is one thing.
And I know that world, it's hard to pull off.
You guys have pulled it up brilliantly.
To make the leap into the world of watch comedy and film stuff, I am so thrilled.
So I want to encourage people to check it out.
What else are you working on, young guys?
So there are projects at the Babylon B that we can't really talk about yet, but they are coming out.
They're going to be.
What are some of those?
Well, the ones that we can't talk about?
Yeah.
Well, where they are, let's see, can I say it?
Like, what my parents would say at Christmas time, they would be like, it's a, mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
You know, when I would ask what the present was.
You can talk about it, but you can almost talk about it.
Well, it's going to, we're moving into, we're moving.
into long form, that's probably all I can really say, but like we're moving into long form,
be looking for it the next couple of months. And we're very excited about it. Can you define long?
Yeah. So like, you know, like feature films. And so we are...
We're heard it here, folks. Jared LeMaster. No, so you're moving in some other stuff. And what other
projects you're working on? Are you able to do stuff outside? Yeah. Are you in film? I mean, I know you're an
actor theoretically. Well,
you know, Seth Dillon
and Kyle are very generous
and they've allowed me
to do stuff outside on occasion
when it comes up. And
last year I ended up shooting
a movie called Homestead
which is,
stars Neil McDonough and
Bailey Chase and a cast
of amazing actors.
And so it was shot in Utah.
It's a story. It's in a post-apocalyptic
story. So if you're
want to show the trailer.
It's Angel Studios.
And Ben Smallbone, who is Joel Smallbone from King and Country's brother, Rebecca St.
James's brother, is directing.
And Ben Casco is the showrunner.
And those guys are incredible.
Really, really good.
But the whole idea, the premise, is like a post-apocalyptic, a realistic scenario of a post-apocalypse
where something happens in L.A., like a terrorist attack happens.
the supply chain goes down, the grid goes out, which is a realistic thing.
It's going to happen before November.
Yeah, if that were to happen, there's only four days of supplies on like any Costco shelf
in a city center.
And so people immediately, within a week, if you're running out, if you run out of your food,
and then within two weeks, you're starving, three weeks people are killing each other,
for their resources in a nine million person we're talking L.A.
So in that scenario, which they've run these scenarios in the government and stuff,
and it's really, this is really harrowing.
And you kind of think, well, I would have a bugout plan.
I'd jump on the 15.
We'd head up to the 395 and get into mammoth or something.
But everybody's thinking that.
And so, like, you know, the freeways are clogged.
Everybody gets stuck.
So it's starvation.
it's, you know, sickness and disease and mayhem.
And these are the things that would kind of take the whole society down.
If it was a month without power, then you really are, you're messed up.
There's an EMP that hits.
You're messed up.
I think we realized, yeah, like an electromagnetic pulse that knocks out all the electricity.
So, and people don't realize, like, how thin of a line we have between,
civilization and kind of pre-civilization,
or going back to the Stone Age.
It's really, really easy because we're living on this
technological grid that could potentially go down.
So anyway, that's the basic premise.
And you have all these scenarios where people are trying to live
in the post-apocalyptic universe.
And the people that end up surviving,
and this is what they've done research,
John, they realize the people that survive are the people that are prepared that have a space that you can defend that you can really have like a system, a homestead that would work like on itself that you can actually defend for marauders and people that come.
So that's the scenario.
It's a bunch of people that, you know, they were preppers and everyone called them crazy.
It's like the story of Noah, you know, and they ended up, you know, surviving because of this thing.
but then you get all the kind of conflict that happens between different groups, roving bands, gangs, and that kind of stuff.
So it's a bit like if you ever watched The Walking Dead, which I don't know if you've ever watched The Walking Dead.
No.
But are you a, are you, are you, it's because you're a Christian probably.
I'm pre, I'm pre-apocalyptic.
I like to watch films that are made that are pre-apocalyptic.
Oh, got you.
Not that, not that attracted to me.
pre-apocalyptic, you know, gone with the wind on the waterfront, Godfather.
Those are all pre-apocalyptic classics.
But where can people see Homestead?
You're describing this film.
Where is it?
So it's on Angel.
So you've got Angel Studios.
It's going to be in the theaters, December 20th.
Oh, wait a minute.
It's not out yet.
It's not out yet.
It's coming out.
Oh, it's going to be out on December 20th.
But December 20th could be way past.
when the grid goes down.
The apocalypse.
The Democrats want the grid to go down before November so we can't have voting.
I'm pretty sure that that's the Black Swan event.
They're cooking up.
No, I agree.
I mean, I think they may be throwing some stuff in there that might prevent this from going out.
But if we have a society on December 20th, it's going to be the best movie.
I think Angels put out for a while, and I think it's really good.
I play a dad trying to save his family.
And it's pretty awesome, man.
You play a good guy, kind of a stretch for you.
Yeah, it's hard, yeah.
Because when I play woke Jesus and the devil, but I repeat myself,
I'm basically playing evil the whole time.
Right.
So, yeah, for you to, how do you play a decent human being?
I mean, you just go inside and I don't know.
It's a real hard.
It takes a lot of research for me.
I read a lot of books, you know, to try.
try to figure out how to be good.
Yeah, it's a lot easier to be the devil than it is to be good.
No, it's just a survival scenario.
So you get, you know, what would you do if you're in a situation where your
neighbors are getting, you know, killed and your kids are in your house and you know
they're coming for you next?
Like, what do you do?
It's a, it's almost a real.
The producers and the casting people for willing to take a risk.
on you, you don't really have a good bone in your body and just thinking like, this guy can do it.
I got to say, honestly, my hat, I tip my hat to them. We'll be right back with Jared LaMaster of the
Babylon B. Welcome back, Coach. I'm talking to Jared LaMaster with the Babylon B. Jared, I just want to
ask you, and we talked about this in the past, but I mean, we're living in an absolutely
fascinating moment in history where some of the greatest comedy and humor is coming from
Christian conservatives. It's really like things.
have turned upside down so that, you know, when I was growing up in the 70s, it was always
kind of, you know, dumping on conservatives, on Christians, and things have gotten crazier and
as the secular liberals have gotten control of the culture, suddenly to be subversive is to
criticize them. So it's a gigantic flipping of the larger narrative.
and you guys at the Babylon B are heroically right in the middle of it.
It's fascinating.
I want to say my kudos to Seth Dillon in particular.
You know, he's become like a prophetic voice in our time.
He's overseeing a sea change.
And, you know, we're in a war.
I mean, it's kind of like, I mean, if you were Norman Lear creating all the family in 1970 or 71,
it's something similar where you're, you're, you're, you're,
you see through the establishment and you're trying to, you know, shine a light on what's going on.
It's just fascinating.
Well, I think you're right.
And it was a, it is a sea change.
But the Democrats, the left, they've sort of changed over the years, too.
It was the 1960s.
They were the party of the blue collar and the working class.
And they represented the unions.
And the Republicans were the party of, you know, the wealthy and, you know, the GOP was kind of like, yeah, these are the rich guys that want to keep things
the way that they've always been.
And it shifted at some point over the next 30 years.
So comedy, comedy kind of was a bottom up thing.
It always kind of has been.
It's like these people kind of like yelling at the establishment or whatever.
And the Democrats shifted to this party of the elite and the party of the person that's
even not a citizen.
So like it's like no citizenship or the college university elite.
And so they're the ones with the power now.
They're the ones with the money.
And so comedy shifted too.
And it had to by definition because those people are trying to like enforce their authoritarianism on us.
And so it's an easy thing to do.
We're just kind of we're just, we're kicking back and we're making fun of these folks.
And we're part of the political conversation.
And it's interesting because you get, you know, there's this war like you were talking about.
There's a war.
And if you poke the bear enough, you know, they poke back and there becomes this,
there's an actual tension that goes on.
But we can always claim that it's parody.
So which it is, you know, like it's like, well, we're just like to jokes.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean, the worst thing for people on the secular left is the fact that you guys are actually
funny.
You're not trying to be funny.
You're not hoping to be funny.
You're actually funny.
You're brilliantly funny.
And I have to say that there's nothing more gratifying.
for me than to see that, that you guys know how to pull it off.
And look, this is God because, you know, people have tried in the past for it to kind of come together
the way it has for the Babylon B and for you guys to be so prolific.
It's tremendous.
And I really wonder, I don't really know what the range is.
And there was how many people out there that are not conservative Christians are loving
the Babylon B and just kind of following it?
Yeah, I think there's quite a bit.
There's quite a few people.
We have a lot of comments on the videos, comments on our articles from people that say they're self-proclaimed atheists.
Like, you know, we've got, you know, people that are Muslims that like us.
We've got, you know, people that are obviously, we've got the Mormons, you know.
And it's that with a lot of secular folks are really behind us because they're seeing all of their freedom sort of erode to.
And so the conversation around this is more like it's all about freedom and freedom of speech.
and the people that are into that.
People that are into that likeness.
And so that's kind of cool.
We're out of time.
Always fun to talk to you.
Jared, LeMaster of the Babylon B.
Jared, God bless you.
Thank you so much.
Yes, thank you, Eric.
