Starting point is 00:00:43 Here comes Eric Metaxus. Hello. Hey, Chris, before we begin the show, I was at a wedding this weekend. And I was stunned. Yeah. Because it is Monday, right? No, it was today. Sorry, today's Tuesday, because I didn't get back.
Starting point is 00:01:04 Yeah. I was at a wedding this weekend. Yeah, this weekend. In the Hamptons. Yeah. And I was stunned to see. that the father, folks, I'm not making this up, the father of the bride. Yes.
Starting point is 00:01:16 At the wedding, was Chris Himes. It was me. Was that you? It was me. It was amazing. But you've shaved your beard, like as though to, you know, to elude the authorities. That's right. I was sort of in character.
Starting point is 00:01:27 My sister-in-law said I looked like a Cuban pirate ship captain or ship captain. And she wasn't wrong. Listen, you've, this, I could say this for sure. You never looked better. You look. You were, you looked marvelous. Thank you. Marvelous.
Starting point is 00:01:43 You had a double-breasted jacket. Yeah. Beautiful jacket. I had that. Beautiful pants. The beard looked authentic. Yeah, it was. Now, I know you've shaved it.
Starting point is 00:01:52 I did shave it today. But where is it now? Like, did you put it someplace? It is in a trash can in my bedroom. Oh, I'm sorry about that. But I'm, you know, who knows, maybe tonight after I go to sleep, it'll crawl out. Forensic experts can, well, yeah, maybe forget it. Maybe just grow another one.
Starting point is 00:02:07 That would be quicker. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, it was good. People don't realize this, but I'm growing a beard right now. No, I can see it. I just always, I tend to shave it off before you notice. But right now, literally now, I'm growing a beard.
Starting point is 00:02:20 I want people to know that. And gorgeous mutton chop side whiskers. It's tremendous. It's tremendous. All right. Today on the program, we have, oh, man, this is nuts. This is an old friend, Aaron Brownback. She's talking about, it's so insane.
Starting point is 00:02:38 it's about Hunter Biden. It's insane. Coming up in a few minutes. In hour two, I want to re-air my conversation with Jared LaMaster of the Babylon B. He's a funny guy. I had a lot of fun talking to him. So much fun that I said, we need to re-air this. So I want to re-hear that today.
Starting point is 00:02:55 So I don't know what hour we're in now, but we got Aaron Barber back to her. Okay, later in the week, we've got Rick Renner talking about Noah's Ark. We have Priscilla Shearer talking about The Forge, which is a... new film. We have Albin Seder. We have Johns Merak. You know, the usual, the gang of crazies. And I hope I'm going to get my friend Keith Junta on the program. He wrote a piece for the stream. If you don't go to the stream regularly, he wrote a piece for the stream about Megan Basham's book, Shepherds for Sale. Ladies and gentlemen, share that piece by Keith Junta at the stream. Share it, share it. I put it on my Twitter. If you're following me on Twitter, please,
Starting point is 00:03:38 share this stuff. This is, we are living at an historic moment right now. We are an absolutely historic moment. My book, A Letter to the American Church, you know, is to me the litmus test for pastors. Like, you read that book, are you on board or not? Megan Basham's book doubles down amazingly. She has all the receipts. It's like if you want to know how the church has been infiltrated, I'm talking about the evangelical church by Marxist lunatics. Lunatic sounds like it's not their fault by evil Marxists. You need to read Shepherds for sale. But my book, Letter to the American Church, is kind of the gentler version that is just asking pastors, have you thought about this? Have you thought about what your responsibilities are? Have you thought about how the German church with a
Starting point is 00:04:26 smile capitulated to the satanic evil of the Nazis? Have you thought about that? Maybe you should think about that now. And if you're not thinking about it now or in the next five minutes, why don't you retire? because you're working for the devil. Just saying, okay, last night, I was not like that interested in listening to the Trump-Musk thing. For no reason. I was just like in a bad mood. I was like, ah, I turned it on. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:04:51 How was it? It was utterly historic, utterly game-changing historic. To listen to Trump riff for two plus hours on everything and anything. thing with a level of common sense. This is not, you know, right-wing common sense. It was so beautiful. It was so beautiful to have him talking to Elon Musk, this genius. And you started realizing, like, if Trump, you know, is reelected, first of all, if he's not reelected, it's game over for the United States of America. Write that down. Write that down. But to be fair, Musk could probably design a self-driving Trump, you know, to replace it. Right. Yes. Solar power. Yes.
Starting point is 00:05:41 Clean energy, Trump. Well, let me say that to listen to the two of them talk, it made me realize that if Trump is reelected, we could have mourning in America again. And that's not just a slogan. That was Reagan's slogan, mourning in America. You know, do you want it to be mourning again like we have hope and future? I felt that in the conversation, at a few points in the conversation. And I haven't felt that for a long time, that we could have a glorious future, that God's hand could bless like crazy. It was absolutely an astonishing conversation, and for many reasons, but one of which was just the contrast with Kamala Harris. My new nickname for her is Giggling Hitler.
Starting point is 00:06:33 Oh, wow. That's a— Yeah, Giggling Hitler. I mean, if she or Biden were sat down with Elon Musk, can you imagine the, like, I cannot imagine the conversation. The conversation with Trump, it was so freewheeling, so authentic, so hopeful, so sparkling at moments, I thought, wow, this is, if all you notice is his cognitive abilities, his desire to fix what's broken, his, desire to give hope to average Americans. If that's all you notice, it's history. I do feel like Biden, you know, if he did sit down with Elon Musk, would just maybe halfway through go system error, you know. Yeah, if he's lucky. Yeah. Yeah, he would read the teleprompter
Starting point is 00:07:19 that says system error. Well, okay, so. Not that there's anything wrong with that. No, of course not. No, but actually, you know, they showed him on the beach lying there like a corpse the other day I saw it on Twitter. And I thought to myself, America has no president right now. Now, listen, that's not hyperbole. I used to be sand on the speech back when it was made. I used to be made out of stones. Now I'm not. Yeah. It was little sand. Yeah, little kids would come over and they touch my legs. And make castles out of me. Well, we're going to talk with Aaron Brownback, we're going to talk about the Biden family. But the level of corruption and it's just, I think I say this over and over, a lot of people simply aren't prepared to face it. It's too painful to face. And Kamala is
Starting point is 00:07:59 genuinely a radical left like we've never seen. Now that people throw those terms around, she's the real deal. She's a radical California leftist. We have never, ever, ever. She is absolutely genuinely to the left
Starting point is 00:08:15 of Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. Now that's not my opinion. This has been written about. Well, I read a headline and I haven't investigated it, but it said that her father was a professor. He was a Marxist professor. Yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely. Okay. Before we get it.
Starting point is 00:08:29 If there's anything wrong with it. I'm going to discuss this with Aaron Brownback in a minute. But I've got to share with you. We are doing our campaign, as you know, some of you, pause. Some of you have not yet given to our food for the poor campaign. I've asked for an update. I have not gotten any of you. I got an update today.
Starting point is 00:08:49 Did you? I didn't get that. And it gave me the names of everyone who's listening right now. It was an angry Santa update. Who have not bothered. to go to Metaxistock.com or to call the number. So folks, kind of important, there are thousands of kids in our own hemisphere who are starving. Jared, I'm sorry, you're the best we could do on short notice. Welcome to the program. Well, this is the best I could get on short notice as well. Yeah. So you know what? We're just using each other.
Starting point is 00:13:11 It's just it is what it is. It is what it is. We all, we should and we fail. We're grasping at the stars. We're grasping. We're grasping. We're grasping. Now, on a positive note, I see behind you that impressive biography of Dietrich Bonhofer.
Starting point is 00:13:29 Yeah. I came out in 2010. It really changed. the landscape of the evangelical world temporarily. And so, so congratulations to you, pretending to read such a weighty work, I have to say, because I know you personally, I know you're not capable of getting through a book like that, but just the fact I didn't think that you could. Or that other point.
Starting point is 00:13:49 I did try. And it was just incredibly boring. I think that was the big issue that I had. It bogs down in the middle. If your intellect is not up to it, it just becomes. a strain. Well, it wasn't just the middle. It was, see, books work this way. They start at the beginning.
Starting point is 00:14:07 Then they move to the middle, and then they go all the way to the end. And in each section, I found to be like slogging through the slough of Desmond. I'm sorry, Jerry, what did you say? I tuned out because you're just not that effective of a communicator. You couldn't hold my attention. Listen, we need to move on. We need to move on. Jared LeMaston, B, also in the program.
Starting point is 00:14:31 Welcome to the program. We might edit out some of that because, you know, I hate to make you look as bad as you really are. I don't want to do that, okay? It's not right. And so Jared Lamassar with Babylon B. Listen, you got a lot going on in your life. For example, you seem in a lot of these funny sketches that you and the Babylon B create, you seem to be cast in the role literally of the devil. and the most one, I think it's titled something like, you know, Satan tells the Democrats they need to tone down the evil.
Starting point is 00:15:07 It was kind of like he was trying to be a voice of wisdom among the evil Democrats. It was very funny. It's been out for a while. If people haven't seen it, where can they see that? Because it's really worth checking out. Oh, yeah, you should see it. It's on YouTube. It's on the Babylon Bee's YouTube page.
Starting point is 00:15:26 Oh, it would be easier. Yeah. Yeah, it's easy. I mean, you know, it's not that hard to find it. The Babylon B's YouTube page. Have you heard of the Babylon B here? Not ringing any bells, but I'm open. Yeah, that's where we're going to be, yeah, showing most of our stuff there.
Starting point is 00:15:46 Yeah. Yeah, but we, yeah, the Babylon B's, Staten Sketch, that was a lot of fun. We did a great. It was a lot of fun to shoot. Siaka, Massiqua, or as I like to call them, Siaka, Mastikawa, or as I like to call them, Siaqa, Matthew Kow, was also in that sketch. And he, I don't know if you know who he is, but he's a wonderful guy. FBI's after him.
Starting point is 00:16:07 He's an actor. Really good dude. FBI's after him for his 71 second cross into the Capitol building on that fateful day that will live in infamy. What are the things are you working on that we can talk about? All right. So the Satan sketch is coming out. And let's see. Yeah, I love that sketch. We had Kira Davis. And basically we all, we just kind of sat around at Satan sitting down with a bunch of Democrats and saying, well, it's a bunch of like progressive world leaders. And he sits down and he kind of looks at each of them. And he says, look, you're doing great. Could you possibly tone it down just a little bit with the evil? Is that a possibility? And they react the way you'd expect from these people. So you have to watch it.
Starting point is 00:17:04 It's very fun. I know. But it's also, it is hilarious because it's the idea that, you know, it's like Satan's trying to say, like, hey, hey, hey, I'm supposed to be, you know, I'm supposed to come across as an angel of light. We know I'm the Prince of Darkness, but I'm supposed to come across as an angel of light because I'm all about deception. Did you not get the memo? It's about deception. you're supposed to be leaving people. That's supposed to be open about this.
Starting point is 00:17:29 That's right. Yeah. So he's basically just saying, look, and I think it's so funny to kind of treat the devil like he's, you know, some sort of just normal guy that's like, you know, hey, listen, we're all trying to get along here. You know, like he's like, you know, hey, how you doing? So I like the idea or like that when we did the devil response to Roe v. Wade, where it's like a post-game interview.
Starting point is 00:17:51 He's kind of depressed. You know, I think it's, Like to me, that's such a funny. He's like game interview. I forgot about that because that's exactly what it was. It was like a post- You know, you ever watch those coaches and they're always kind of like, yeah, you know, we could have done better tonight.
Starting point is 00:18:09 But don't count us out. You know, like we got a great defensive team. You know, like you see those guys and what if, you know, the devil was like over after his big wins, you know, we still have Nancy Pelosi. You know, we still got. You know, we still got David French. We still got, you know, I was going to say something. We still got Russell Moore.
Starting point is 00:18:33 And actually, if you've talked to Megan Basham yet, we've still got, you know, Rick Warren. No, no, no, I have, you didn't know, but last week I spoke to her at length about her new book Shepherds for sale. And I've been reading the book. And I have to say that we're living in a story. times. The radical left, you know, the radical left, the Marxist left, has infiltrated the evangelical church in America. And to some extent, that's exactly what my book letter to the American church is about. It's what my book, religionless Christianity is about, is the idea that, and again, you know, it's getting to the character of evil and the character of Satan. He doesn't come across
Starting point is 00:19:21 and say, I am evil, follow me. He says, I'm good. I have a different view of good. Open your mind up to my view of what's good and bad. And maybe you're being a little hasty. Listen to this. That's kind of how the evangelical church has been subverted over time. And what's always interesting to me,
Starting point is 00:19:42 and this is part of the story of the book Shepherds for Sale, is that it is complicated. In other words, you have people that they're kind of caught flat foot and they're trying to be reasonable at a time when you should not be reasonable. You should say, we're in a war. There are people shooting at my head. I need to get down and then figure out a way not to get killed. They're saying, no, no, let's be reasonable. And so in that moment of let's be reasonable, they are allowing all kinds of garbage to come in. So many, many evangelical churches have opened the door to the devil to Marxist, atheistic ideas because they feel
Starting point is 00:20:20 that it makes them look reasonable. They don't want to be, oh, like those fundamentalists, like those, they don't want to be like those people that they have been trying to, they've been spending decades trying not to look like. Suddenly they're in a position where you kind of have to look like that. You've got to fight. You've got to stand up for clear truth.
Starting point is 00:20:39 And they just caught. And so now you just mentioned all those names. Rick Warren. I mean, Rick Warren. He opened the door at Saddleback Church. to some of this. Yeah, the journey. Embrace the journey.
Starting point is 00:20:55 Yeah, it's a really, to me, it's surprising because what I find is that there's well-meaning pastors out there. And this kind of goes back to the devil being an angel of light, just like our sketch. It's like he, they just don't want to be looked at like they're not cool. I think that's part of it, that they're not hip, they're not rational or reasonable. Yeah. And so they allow themselves to kind of like embrace some of this language. and even it starts with the language and then it moves even further.
Starting point is 00:21:23 And a lot of these people aren't taking money, but they're still refusing to believe that some of the stuff is going on, like in Andy Stanley. They still believe that Andy Stanley is like Orthodox or whatever. It's fascinating, right? It's fascinating that people like Andy Stanley and others have flat out gone heretical. But even Andy Stanley, you know, when a person goes heretical, they don't know that they've gone.
Starting point is 00:21:50 They just feel like, no, it's more nuanced. It's more complicated. And I think that really what it comes down to, Jared, is discernment, right? Like you have to have a discernment moment where you say, whoa, now is not the time to look cool. Now is the time to stand for truth. And in the end, that will end up looking way cooler. But right now I'm about being hit and cool and having the right people praise me. Well, God uses the foolish things of the world to shame the wise.
Starting point is 00:22:20 And I always said this too. It's interesting because, you know, being a Christian filmmaker, it's always like you want to, you want to make great films. You want to make good things. But then what you do, you see these movies that I would consider pretty cheesy. And everyone comes up to me and they're like, you know what the real turning point in my life was when I watched X, you know, some cheesy Christian movie. God really got a hold of my heart. And I'm like, see, this is the thing. God uses the dump that cheesy things.
Starting point is 00:22:48 Well, he can. It doesn't mean we're aiming for cheesy. We're not aiming for cheesy. Folks, I'm talking to Jared Lamaster. He's usually not this thoughtful, so definitely stick around. You don't want to miss this. Can you hear the voices singing to you? Is your 401K or IRA invested in companies that support human trafficking, abortion, or gambling?

Starting point is 00:25:40 It's fake news. Jared, let me ask you, let me ask you, I want to talk to you about some of these projects that you're working on, but you just mentioned you kind of cavalierly threw it in there that you say, well, embrace the journey. Most people aren't aware of this, and this is why I stop and I repeat it, because I know that most good people in America who go to churches, they're not aware of the ugly stuff that's going on.
Starting point is 00:26:06 They're not aware that people that you would have considered trustworthy, like Rick Warren, for example, open the door at Saddleback to something called Embrace the Journey, which is a totally subversive, pro-gay agenda. Funded by Andy Stanley. Funded by Andy Stanley, by Andy Stanley, and worse. And it has infiltrated the church. You have Russell Moore and David French put together a curriculum called After the Party. called After the Party, which is, listen to this satanic deception.
Starting point is 00:26:41 It's they pretend that this is the Christian way to deal with politics. It purports to be nonpartisan. It purports to make the claim that we shouldn't be political. All the while, it is being dramatically leftist political. And the key is that they're able, because of their names and because of their names and because of the way the world has worked and everybody's not paying attention, they're able to put this stuff into mainstream mega-churches, most of the leadership of which is not wise enough to understand, oh, the wolf is at the door.
Starting point is 00:27:22 I'm not letting this in. They kind of let it in, oh, it's Rick Warren. Oh, it's Russell Moore Christianity today. Having no idea that Russell Moore and Andy Stanley and a lot of people pushing this stuff, Francis Collins is in the book. Holy cat. You got to read that chapter. That guy's a piece of word. Yeah. Well, that's this stuff is so dark.
Starting point is 00:27:42 And most of us don't want to believe it. We're like, well, but I know him. He was, he's okay. He's okay. So Megan Bashman's book Shepherds for sale. It brings, it's like the receipt. This is, you got to read it. And, you know, follow the money. Follow the money.
Starting point is 00:27:55 You'll find that George Soros is funding a lot of this stuff. She's critical of Tim Keller, not in a harsh way. I mean, I, I love Tim Keller. but I think he made some mistakes, particularly in the latter years. He was trying to be very reasonable, and there comes a time when that can go wrong. So she's not, there's nothing ad hominem in her book. And I think people, people should read it. People should understand what has happened and why when you send your kid off to some,
Starting point is 00:28:20 you know, evangelical church youth group, they may not be coming home with the ideas you hoped they were coming home with. This is very much. Definitely read the book and get it. There's been a lot of a, there's been a lot of pushback from the evangelical. groups that she targeted. And it's fantastic. So go out and get it.
Starting point is 00:28:40 And I asked her about it. When I talked to her, I asked her, I was like, hey, how do you deal with this kind of pushback? You know,
Starting point is 00:28:47 because you have to kind of get used to the pushback if you're going to stand up and say something. I know, Eric, you've experienced that. We at the Babylon B
Starting point is 00:28:52 you've experienced it a lot. And she was just like, oh, well, I was just born with this thing where I don't care. I had to get over it. I had a period where when I was,
Starting point is 00:29:03 we started, to make these videos and started to really call out some of the stuff like the LGBTQ lobby and stuff, the stuff that really was, we think, damaging to, like, kids and things that are trying to push these agendas in schools. And some of the kickback, some of the pushback we got was from people that are very dear to me. And so it was, like, devastating for me to get that pushback. And, you know, as an actor, as an entertainer, whatever, you always want to be on good terms with everybody.
Starting point is 00:29:28 And so I just had to get over that. I had to get over this feeling. but I really care about what do people think and just sort of push forward with telling the truth. And I love that Megan Batcham is doing that and the Babylon B is doing that. And yeah, we've gotten in trouble for that. And we got in trouble for some of our other sketches like woke Jesus. Like that's the like, you know, the next one that we're doing, woke Jesus. If you haven't seen it, it's awesome.
Starting point is 00:29:54 And it is awesome. Because you've got such range, unbelievable range, sometimes you play season. Sometimes you play Jesus. that's the greatest range any actor has ever shown. So the embodiment of good and the embodiment of evil, I have to say that's simply unbelievable. I don't think Lawrence Olivier had that kind of range. I just want to take that.
Starting point is 00:30:16 Wow. That's, now you're complimenting me earlier. Yeah, you're complimenting me. This is a strange day. I feel like I'm on a roller coaster. Well, it's also possible that I'm just being sarcastic and saying whatever comes into my mind, that I'm not really complimenting you. but we will let the voters decide in November.
Starting point is 00:30:35 Yeah. Yeah. So what else? What other projects have you been working on here? We're talking about if you, if you check out woke Jesus, it's an interesting take on, on the idea is if Jesus actually said the things that the progressive church,
Starting point is 00:30:51 like people like Russell Moore and some of these other people are masquerading. It says that he said. So we talked about climate change. So Jesus ends up, I tried to play Jesus as, close to what I feel like Jesus is and as real as I could. And that's kind of an approach to comedy that I have is that, you know, the best way to do comedy is to have an absurd situation and play it very real.
Starting point is 00:31:15 And it's situational humor, observational humor. You know, you can do comedy with big characters and things like that, too. There's a lot of good comedians like Mike Myers or whatever that can do these math of characters. And I like that, too. But really, the best comedy is when it's a real situation that's just, or an absurd situation with a real character in it. And so with woke Jesus, it was kind of like that where you, he just played Jesus for real.
Starting point is 00:31:41 But make him say something like, blessed are, you know, don't suffer the children to come unto me, you know, unless they're born into poverty. Or they, you know, might be a hindrance to your party lifestyle. In that case, feel free to murder them in the world. This is horrible stuff. We'll be right back. Yeah.

Starting point is 00:33:34 We're talking to Jared LaMaster with the Babylon B. You can check them out on their YouTube channel. I am so glad that you guys at the Babylon B are doing sketch comedy and this kind of thing. Because to do written comedy, to do written humor is one thing. And I know that world. It's hard to pull off. You guys have pulled it up brilliantly. To make the leap into the world of much comedy and film stuff, I am so thrilled.
Starting point is 00:34:00 So I want to encourage people to check it out. What else are you working on? Yeah. So there are projects at the Babylon B that we can't really talk about yet, but they are coming out. They're going to be. What are some of those? Well, the ones that we can't talk about? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:34:16 Well, where they are, let's see, can I say it? Like, what my parents would say at Christmas time, they would be like, it's a, mm-hmm, mm-hmm. You know, when I would ask what the present was. You can talk about it, but you can almost talk. talk about it. Well, it's going to, we're moving into long form. That's probably all I can really say. But like we're moving into long form, be looking for it the next couple of months.
Starting point is 00:34:41 And we're very excited about it. Can you define long? Yeah. So like, you know, like feature films. And so we are. We're right in here, folks. Jared LeMaster. No, so you're moving in some other stuff.
Starting point is 00:34:57 And what other projects you're working on? Are you able to do stuff out? outside? Yeah. Are you in film? I mean, I know you're an actor theoretically. Well, you know, Seth Dillon and Kyle are very generous, and they've allowed me to do stuff outside on occasion when it comes up. And last year I ended up shooting a movie called Homestead, which is, stars Neil McDonough and Bailey Chase and a cast of amazing actors.
Starting point is 00:35:28 And so it was shot in Utah. this story. It's in a post-apocalyptic story. So if you want to show the trailer, it's Angel Studios. And Ben Smallbone, who is Joel Smallbone from King and Country's brother, Rebecca St. James's brother, is directing. And Ben Casca is the showrunner. And those guys are incredible. Really, really good. But the whole idea, the premise is like a post-apocalyptic, a realistic scenario of a post-apocalypse
Starting point is 00:35:58 where something happens in LA, like a terrorist attack happens and the supply chain goes down, the grid goes out, which is a realistic thing. It's going to be happening before November. Yeah, if that were to happen, there's only four days
Starting point is 00:36:16 of supplies unlike any Costco shelf in a city center. And so people immediately, within a week, if you're running, out if you run out of your food and then within two weeks you're starving three weeks people are killing each other for their resources in a nine million person we're talking in LA so in that scenario which they've run these scenarios in the government and stuff and it's it's really this is really harrowing and you kind of think well I would have a bugout plan I'd jump on the 15 we'd head up to the 395 and get into mammoth or something but everybody's thinking that and so it's still like you know the The freeways are clogged. Everybody gets stuck.
Starting point is 00:37:00 So it's starvation. It's, you know, sickness and disease and mayhem. And these are the things that would kind of take the whole society down. If it was a month without power, then you really are. You're messed up. There's an EMP that hits. You're messed up. I don't think we realize.
Starting point is 00:37:21 Yeah, like an electromagnetic pulse that knocks out all the electricity. So and people don't realize like how how thin of a line we have between civilization and kind of pre-civilization, like or going back to the Stone Age. Like it's really, really easy because we're living on this technological grid that could potentially go down. So anyway, that's the, that's the basic premise. And you have all these scenarios where people are trying to live in the, the post-apocalyptic universe. And the people that end up surviving, and this is what they've done research on, they realize the people that survive are the people that are prepared,
Starting point is 00:38:04 that have a space that you can defend, that really have like a system, a homestead that would work, like on itself, that you can actually defend for marauders and people that come. So that's the scenario. It's a bunch of people that, you know, they were preppers and everyone called them crazy. It's like the story of Noah, you know, and, and they ended up, you know, surviving because of this thing. But then you get all the kind of conflict that happens between different groups,
Starting point is 00:38:32 roving bands, gangs, and that kind of stuff. So it's a bit like if you ever watched The Walking Dead, which I don't know if you've ever watched The Walking Dead. No, I don't like that. Are you a, are you, it's because you're a Christian probably. I'm pre-apocalyptic. I like to watch films that are pre-apocalyptic. Oh, got you.
Starting point is 00:38:53 Not that attractive to me. Pre-apocalyptic, you know, gone with the wind on the waterfront, Godfather. Those are all pre-apocalyptic classics. But where can people see Homestead? You're describing this film. Where is it? So it's on Angel. So you've got Angel Studios.
Starting point is 00:39:14 It's going to be in the theaters December 20th. Oh, wait a minute. It's not out yet. It's not out yet. It's coming out. Oh, it's going to be able to. December 20th, but December 20th could be way past when the grid goes down. The apocalypse.
Starting point is 00:39:29 The Democrats want the grid to go down before November so we can't have voting. I'm pretty sure that that's the Black Swan event. They're cooking up. No, I agree. I mean, I think they may be throwing some stuff in there that might prevent this from going out. But if we have a society on December 20th, it's going to be the best movie. I think Angels put out for a while, and I think it's really good. And I play a dad trying to save his family.
Starting point is 00:39:57 And it's pretty awesome. You play a good guy, kind of a stretch for you. Yeah, it's hard, yeah. Because when I play woke Jesus and the devil, but I repeat myself, I'm basically playing evil the whole time. Right. So, yeah, for you to, how do you play a decent human being? I mean, you just go inside and I don't know.
Starting point is 00:40:19 It's a real hard. It takes a lot of research for me. me. I read a lot of books, you know, to try to figure out how to be good. Yeah, it's a lot easier to be the devil than it is to be good. No, it's just a survival scenario. So you get, you know, what would you do if you're in a situation where your neighbors are getting, you know, killed and your kids are in your house and you know they're coming for you next? Like, what do you do? It's a, it's almost a thrill. the producers and the casting people for willing to take a risk on you. You don't really have a good bone in your body and just thinking like, this guy can do it. I got to say, honestly, my hat, I tip my hat to them. We'll be right back with Jared Lamaster of the Babylon Bee. I'm talking to Jared LaMaster with the Babylon B. Jared, I just want to ask you,
Starting point is 00:41:35 if we talked about this in the past, but I mean, we're living in an absolutely fascinating moment in history where some of the greatest comedy and humor is coming from Christian conservatives. It's really like things have turned upside down so that, you know, when I was growing up in the 70s, it was always kind of, you know, dumping on conservatives, on Christians, and things have gotten crazier and crazier as the secular liberals have gotten control of the culture, suddenly to be subversive is to criticize them. So it's a gigantic flipping of the larger narrative. And you guys at Babylon B are heroically right in the middle of it. It's fascinating. I want to say my kudos to Seth Dillon in particular. He's become like a prophetic voice in our time. He's overseeing a sea
Starting point is 00:42:36 change. And we're in a war. I mean, it's kind of like, I mean, if you were Norman Lear, creating all the family in 1970 or 71. Yeah. It's something similar where you're, you're, you see through the establishment and you're trying to, you know, shine a light on what's going on. It's just fascinating. Well, I think you're right. And it was a, it is a sea change.
Starting point is 00:42:59 But the Democrats, the left, they've sort of changed over the years, too. It was the 1960s. They were the party of the blue collar and the working class. And they represented the unions. and the Republicans are the party of, you know, the wealthy and, you know, the GOP was kind of like, yeah, these are the rich guys that want to keep things, you know, the way that they've always been. And it shifted at some point over the next 30 years. So comedy, comedy kind of was a bottom up thing. It always kind of has been.
Starting point is 00:43:30 It's like these people kind of like yelling at the establishment or whatever. And the Democrats shifted to this party of the elite. and the party of the person that's even not a citizen. So it's like no citizenship or the college university elite. And so they're the ones with the power now. They're the ones with the money. And so comedy shifted too. And it had to by definition because those people are trying to like enforce their authoritarianism on us.
Starting point is 00:44:02 And so it's an easy thing to do. We're just kind of, we're kicking back and we're making fun of these folks. part of the political conversation. And it's interesting because you get, you know, there's this war like you were talking about. There's a war. And if you poke the bear enough, you know, they poke back and there becomes this, there's an actual tension that goes on. But we can always claim that it's parody.
Starting point is 00:44:26 So which it is, you know? Like it's like, well, we're just like to jokes. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, the worst thing for people on the secular left is the fact that you guys are actually funny. You're not trying to be funny. You're not hoping to be funny. You're actually funny. You're brilliantly funny. And I have to say that there's nothing more gratifying for me than to see that, that you guys know how to pull it off. And look, this is God because, you know, people have
Starting point is 00:44:53 tried in the past for it to kind of come together the way it has for the Babylon B and for you guys to be so prolific. It's tremendous. And I really wonder, I don't really know what the range is. and others. How many people out there that are not conservative Christians are loving the Babylon B and just kind of following it? Yeah, I think there's quite a bit. There's quite a few people. We have a lot of comments on the videos, comments on our articles from people that say they're self-recllaimed atheists. Like, you know, we've got, you know, people that are Muslims that like us. We've got, you know, people that are obviously, we've got the Mormons, you know. And it's that with a lot of secular folks are really behind us because they're seeing all of their freedom sort of erode to.
Starting point is 00:45:40 And so the conversation around this is more like it's all about freedom and freedom of speech. And people that are into that. People that are into that life is. And so that's kind of cool. We're out of time. Always fun to talk to you. Jared, LaMaster of the Babylon B.
Starting point is 00:45:56 Jared. God bless you. Thank you so much. Yes. Thank you, Eric.
