Welcome to the Eric Mattaxas show.
It's a nutritious smoothie of creamy, fresh yogurt, vanilla, protein powder, and a mushy banana.
For your mind?
Drink it all down.
It's nummy.
I wub, vanilla.
I wub, I wop, I wap, I wap, vanilla.
Here comes Eric Metaxus.
Hey there, folks.
Welcome to Friday the 13th.
Ooh, ooh.
The good news is I'm not superstitious, and I think superstition is of the devil.
There are a lot of people listening who don't know that, that if you, you either get to go with what God says in the Bible or you're on your own into the weird world of, you know, demonic stuff.
And superstition is, it's kind of like denying God.
So all that stuff, February the 13th, it's like this day belongs to the God of the Bible, to Jesus.
To me, it's, you know, so I don't go by the Bible.
that. So I just want to be real clear.
Christians, real Christians reject horoscope garbage, superstition garbage.
That's all kind of like a bondage to dark stuff. And maybe you didn't know it, but I'm here to
tell you. All right. Even more positively, we have, Chris, you and I last night went to a New York
Manhattan party together. Not as a couple. I want to be very clear, even though we were wearing
matching loafers, it seemed.
It's true.
Our matchers, our matchers.
Our loafers did match, but it was a...
It looked like we planned them.
Yes.
But we did not.
Yeah, it was a very, very heterosexual outing that we had.
It was just kind of us, you know, going to a holiday party.
But what was the party?
We brought out in the city, but it had the vibe of yesteryear, it had this nostalgic energy
to it.
It felt like we went back in time to another era.
It's hard to explain, but I really felt that it was very weird.
Well, it was.
Just to be clear with the folks, you know, a few nights ago, we had the Socrates in the city Black Tie Gala, which felt like New York of another time.
It was absolutely magical, absolutely magical. And I remind you, go to Socratesinthe city.com for many of your Christmas gift needs. Socrates in the city.com, all kinds of stuff you can do there.
You can get Socrates Plus for somebody. That's like not expensive.
there's all kinds of cool swag.
I mentioned there's T-shirts, sweatshirts.
It's beautiful stuff.
It's branded like Socrates.
The Socrates book, of course, Conversations on the Exampley.
Like brand new book literally came out two days ago.
So there's all this kind of cool stuff there.
And the other night, we had an amazing event, Manhattan event.
But last night, Chris, you and I went to another Manhattan party.
What was it?
It was our friend Roger Kimball.
He's on this program all the time.
He runs Encounter Books, which is a publishing house, and the new Criterion.
They had a Christmas party.
So many wonderful people there.
And so many people that came up to me and said, oh, I wanted to meet you.
Now, trust me, when that happens in a place like New York, I'm a little shocked and thrilled.
A number of young people, you know, they've read our stuff or they've come to Socrates events and we got to talk.
And there was one guy.
I'm glad I don't remember his name.
but we need to be in touch with him, Chris, who said, and I'm not going to get into it,
but an amazing young man.
When he was 19, he was in prison for a year, and he was in solitary for some time.
And he said, when he was in solitary, someone sent him a copy of my Bonhofer biography.
And it was very significant for him reading that in solitary.
Yeah, it was an unbelievable kind of bump into somebody at a party.
And you could tell it was very meaningful to him.
He shared some details.
He said he doesn't usually chat about at a party.
But it was, you know, I mean, God makes these connections all the time.
It's part of being alive on this planet.
It was very clear that, you know, you two were supposed to bump into each other.
So that was really special.
Yeah, but it was very moving for me.
It's very moving for me.
and there was another young couple there that have been following me and what I've been saying.
And as the young woman, Nora, put it my arc because I was not so outspoken politically.
And she said she has been watching that.
And it's so gratifying because it has been a real battle.
If you listen to the program, I don't talk about this stuff too much, but it's been a battle.
It's been a spiritual battle.
So meeting these folks last night was so gratifying, such a.
tremendous blessing. And Chris, you and I walked for a while after the party. I was making my way home. I never got a cab. I walked forever.
Oh, get on the subway. Chile last night. Yeah, we parted near the Macy store. So it was, it was a, it was a busy night. There were lots of people out and joined.
Lots of people out. It was, it was, but it was so beautiful. I mean, honestly, I got choked up looking at the Empire State Building, looking at walking through Union Square. No, not Union Square, Madison Square Park.
the buildings lit up just like magic, like out of a movie, so beautiful.
Anyway, New York, don't believe what they tell you about New York.
Believe me, no.
And I rode the subway there and home.
You know, it was fine.
Okay, coming up today in the next segment, our friend Jared LaMaster of the Babylon B.
I think we aired this a week ago, but this was so good.
said, I want to talk to, I want to air this again.
Really fun, really fun.
It's coming out this week.
Yeah.
What?
I believe it's coming out this weekend in theaters and a limited.
What is it?
What is it?
Homestead, Homestead.
Oh.
Oh.
And what does that relate to?
Well, it's a series and a film.
So Jared is in the Homestead.
Ah, Jared is in it.
You didn't make it connected.
Angel Studios is doing a tricky thing where they release a film version that's part of the series.
So it's kind of a breadcrumb to watch it online too.
Well, he'll tell us about it.
That's coming up in a few minutes, three minutes.
Then we're going to hear from our friend Kevin McCullough,
trying really to get you all to jump in and to help the folks at CSI to free slaves in Sudan.
This is real.
This is an amazing.
This is to me the greatest Christmas gift anyone could ever give.
So we'll be talking about that a little bit today with our friend Kevin McCullough.
In our two, we're talking to Matt Thayer, who has been involved in the SalemNow.com program about the story of Patrick Byrne.
We had that on the program recently.
We'll probably air that again.
It's nuts.
It's insane.
You kind of need to know the story.
So we'll have him on.
Also in hour two, we're talking to our friend Robert Netsley.
Robert Netsley
inspire advisors.
These are the heroes.
You'll hear it.
That's the beginning of our two,
but they are total heroes.
And I hope
give them your attention
because we need to get the word out.
Before we go,
we're going to remind you
of our friends of the Heritage Foundation.
The president of the Heritage Foundation,
Kevin Roberts,
has a book out called Dawn's Early Light.
The thesis of the book
is that we the people have begun to take our country back.
You can feel it.
There's a vibe shift, but there's a lot of work to be done.
And the idea of Kevin Roberts' new book, Dawn's Early Light,
is that we have work to do to drain the swamp
to take the country back from the globalist elites who have hijacked it for decades.
but only recently, like in the last four years, has it really come to light.
And so Dawn's Early Light is kind of a blueprint for what we have to do.
So the book is Dawn's Early Light by Kevin Roberts.
Before we go, I also want you to mention our friends at the Herzog Foundation.
You know about them.
I try to mention them every day.
They are also heroes.
They're here to help you homeschool.
your kids or figure out what does quality K through 12 Christ-centered education look like?
I have a sore throat. I'm getting sick. What does quality Christ-centered K-12 education look like?
The Herzog Foundation is there to help. I mean, I say to help for free, right? This is, they're a
foundation. So if you go to HerzogFoundation.com, HertzogFoundation.com. HurtzogFoundation.com.
com. They will, well, they've just got a whole raft of resources available. And it would be my dream
that everyone in America would be homeschooled or get quality K-12 Christ-centered education.
So Herdsug Foundation, these are friends of ours. Go to herdsugfoundation.com. Okay,
when we come back talking to Jared LaMaster of the Babylon B, after that, Kevin McCullough, Robert
Netsley of Inspire, Matt Thayer, behind the film at Salem, now.
dot com. Lots of great stuff. Don't go away.
Folks, I've got to be realistic about my diet in December. It's got to be the worst month of
the year in terms of eating. No matter what you do, you're inevitably going to find yourself
eating things, treats, meats, dishes, leaving very little room for the right stuff. But I will take
balance of nature every single day. Balance of nature is made from whole fruit and veggie
ingredients and I will not skip taking those daily supplements. It's the one thing I'll get right
because feeling good is important to me, especially in December. Join me in
pushing back against the dreaded December diet crash. You can do that by getting Balance of Nature
today. Use my discount code Eric and sign up as a new customer to get 35% off plus free shipping

Hey folks, listeners to my show know I'm passionate about the work of Christian Solidarity International
because they protect and free those who are being persecuted and enslaved for their faith.
Thanks to you to date, CSI has freed more than 100,000 people from slavery in Sudan,
but the work is not done yet.
It's estimated that there are still tens of thousands more still in bondage, and CSI is preparing
right now for their final slave liberation of this year.
I'm hoping you'll join me and help them liberate another 300 women and children.
Your gift of just $250 will free a woman in Sudan who has been enslaved for years and provide her with food and other supplies necessary to start her new life.

Ladies and gentlemen, I warned you. Yes, I did. I said, if you were bad, I would bring on
the devil himself. Jared LeMaster. Jared, welcome back. Thank you, Eric. It's wonderful to be here
broadcasting from hell. I should probably clarify. You're not actually the devil,
but you've played him in videos.
Not that there's anything wrong with that, man,
because I respect different views.
But you have portrayed the devil for the Babylon B.
You are with the Babylon B.
Jared Lomaster with the Babylon B.
Jared Lomaster of the Babylon B.
You've portrayed the devil.
And it really has been extraordinary to watch you play the devil.
Also, you've played woke Jesus,
who's a different type of devil.
Yeah, he's the same guy, same guy.
Basically the same guy, woke Jesus.
Yeah, that's right.
Yeah, it's been fun.
We get to do a lot of fun.
But thank you, though, for not bringing up like David Platt or any of these ex-Vangelicals
because we don't need to be controversial on this program.
You know what I'm saying?
Dude, I'll tell you what, brother.
There ain't nothing that bugs me more than those people.
So, yeah, that's funny.
That's why we better not talk about them.
The ex-vangelicals, David French, and, you know, like, we don't want to get into that.
Hey, let's not get into it right now.
Okay, you, my friend, you're.
You're, we've established that you're an actor, and you're such an actor that even though you are
filled with the Holy Spirit of God, you're able to portray Satan and woke Jesus.
Like that is a level of range, the fact that you could do that.
The chameleon, the level of chameleonness, which is not a word, is amazing.
Thank you.
Yeah.
What's your latest role?
Like, you, aren't you in Homeland?
Can we talk about that?
Yeah, so Homeland was a different, it's actually Homestead.
Yeah, so I have the T-shirt right here.
Here, Homestead.
You see the little symbol right here that's like...
I'm sorry, Homestead.
Oh, yeah, no, that's okay.
It's over on Angel.
It's on Angel.
And we're very excited about it.
It's coming out in theaters,
wide release in theaters,
December 20th.
It's called Homestead.
It stars Neil McDonough,
Bailey Chase,
quite a few other actors that you would probably know.
Neil McDonough, he's a hero.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Has he been on your show?
No, I'd love to get him on the show.
We should get him on the show.
Let's get him on the show,
man.
All right.
Let's get them on the show now because I don't like you that much.
No, I know.
Yeah, let me call them.
Yeah.
Hey, Neil.
Okay, seriously, Jared, Jared Lamaster, you are, you have a major role in Homestead.
And you said it's at angel.com.
They're the ones that, so it's coming out soon in a few weeks.
So in the, they're doing the same model that they did with the chosen, which is they released a feature film.
And then it spins off into a television series.
And so it's a really, it's a long form story.
but it is based on the book series of Black Autumn,
which is all about like the end of the world scenario.
It's not a,
it's a prepper kind of end of the world scenario,
a realistic, you know,
dirty bomb goes off in San Pedro and everybody has to get out of L.A.
and then, you know, everyone ends up,
the only people that survive are the people that have these like
pre-prepared homesteads that are self-sustaining.
And along with a military component,
because you got to keep all the, you know, refugees out.
And so it's a fascinating story.
And it's a realistic story.
Like that's why it's kind of scary is that, you know, they've run these scenarios.
Like the government's run these scenarios where if something were to happen and people
didn't have access to food and water in these city centers, it would be, I mean,
it would be like extinction level for like L.A., you know.
People wouldn't be able to get out of town.
There'd be 9 million people on the 15 trying to jam it.
And then there wouldn't be any food on the Costco shelves.
so it'd be really tough.
So a lot of tough stuff.
But it's a realistic portrayal of that.
And my character is an interesting guy because he's the guy that did not plan for this thing.
Like most of this kind of centers around people that were sort of ready.
And my character is the guy that doesn't, that wasn't ready.
Like he's the guy that's like making it up as he goes along, which like, which is exactly
probably what I would be like.
So it's like he's trying to help his family, trying to get into this homestead.
will will no mcdona mcdona's character ian ross will he let him in uh we don't know so you'll
have to watch the movie to find out but i do have to i do have this to say i don't die i can say
that i think you can say that you don't die that's really big of you to let us know
yeah i don't die so i'll probably be there uh for the rest of the season so um so the rest
of the season so wait a second so what's launching
later this month is the series.
Yeah, so the television series will
launch in the new year.
The feature film is what's being released
December 20th, so it's going to be in theaters.
It's a two-hour. This is like the, it's kind of like the pilot.
It's kind of like the pilot that sets the whole thing up, but it's being
promoted as a feature film.
Yeah, and it's going to be wide release. It'll be at your AMC
locally or Cinemark or whatever you guys have, Regal.
And you guys can go down and check it out.
and it's it's worth it and here's the thing so if you if you get tickets if you order tickets now
pre-order tickets you can you'll be entered into a drawing for a homestead that is fully stocked
with a Polaris like four-wheel drive vehicle a bunch of like pre like those those meals that
they have like MREs and it's worth about $300,000 so people are signing up right now just to get their
name and that so they can get the drawing and somebody.
is going to win this homestead somewhere.
I don't actually know where it is.
I should look it up.
I think it might be in Utah.
But I'm just saying, you know,
if you want a homestead, go buy tickets.
So you can go to angel.com and get tickets.
Now, if you go to angel.com and get tickets to the Bonhofer film,
you will not be entered in this drawing.
And I have to say, to me, it's 50-50,
whether I would want to enter the drawing or not.
So I would just get the Bonhofer tickets.
So Homestead.
But there's a link.
It's interesting because,
The idea that it's being set up in this kind of feature film is kind of like this pilot.
And then that reminds me of when I was a kid, the Waltons was a big deal TV series.
And I remember it was launched with like a two-hour pilot called The Homecoming.
We were introduced, you know, to Michael Lernet, Ralph Waite.
Who else was in that?
Ellen Corby as the grandmother.
And of course, Richard Thomas.
But it was like, you know, there's a film.
You get to know the characters.
You like them.
And then they say, oh, and by the way, it's a series.
You're like, I'm in.
So this is a, it's a great way of doing it.
So this is Homestead.
Homestead.
Yeah.
Homestead coming out soon.
Coming out real soon.
And it's fun.
My character, I, I was supposed to be there for about two weeks.
I ended up shooting about two weeks last year.
And they ended up calling me again in like March to give me a backstory.
So my family, like, I went up again and shot a few more days.
days up in Utah.
And they added a bunch of stuff where we're living in our house and I had to get out
of our little neighborhood.
And it was,
it's,
it's really cool.
It's like,
I'm so surprised.
You know,
it's always a surprise when you get cast in something.
I was feeling like it's like,
it's,
you know,
an unexpected blessing because you're always auditioning and getting rejected.
And so it's just,
I'm just,
I'm blessed that I got to be part of it.
And it's such a cool scenario.
I've always liked the post apocalypse.
Now,
I do have a question for you,
though.
I was interested.
Do you,
do you have a bugout plan?
Do I have a bugout plan?
Yeah, like if the grid goes down,
you don't have food for a week and a half.
Like, do you have a bugout plan?
Do you have a shelter in place plan?
Have you ever thought of that?
Well, yeah, I have thought of that.
And I guess the short answer is no.
Yeah.
Yeah.
No, yeah.
Right.
Yeah, my plan is just to eat my neighbors.
I think that's my plan.
Okay.
All right.
You know, that's weird,
because that's my plan is to eat Chris's neighbors.
That's weird that we have the same plan.
We'll do the wishbone thing and make a wish.
I feel like Chris would make a pretty good meal.
That's true.
I am plumber.
That's not what I was saying.
I was not calling you fat.
No.
Oh, you mean I would be able to prepare it well.
That's true.
You need fire.
I would, I kind of have this.
I mean, I don't think there's anything wrong with having what you call.
a bugout plan. But I also, there's certain times where I feel like, well, the ultimate plan is
I'm going to trust the Lord to lead me and guide me because I, you know, you can plan for anything,
but there are things you can't plan for. And I think that when we're dealing with something like
this, you can drive yourself crazy trying to plan for every eventuality. And I just have to
believe that, you know, the Lord is with me and he will guide me.
And if it's time to go home to glory, praise the Lord to leave this horrible veil of tears.
Praise God.
I'm looking forward to it.
So, oh, no, we just have a moment left.
So in the film, right, what is your character?
His name is Rick Baumgartner.
Baumgardner.
And he has a backstory.
He has a backstory.
He's got a future story, too.
So we'll see what happens with that.
No, no.
But the backstory, like, who is?
Who is he? We've got 30 seconds, but I'm just curious.
He's just a dad.
Yeah, he's a dad.
He's a blue collar worker.
He has a wife and three kids and did not plan for this.
And where does his character?
Where do you live?
Where does this character live?
The movie takes place in Colorado.
And so we shot it in Utah, but it takes place in Colorado and the Rockies.
And he's living in a kind of lower middle class neighborhood.
And, you know, it starts to get crazy.
and so he's got to get out.
And, you know, there's blockades on the street, all kinds of stuff.
But he's just the prime motivation is save his family.
Well, my only thing is to say that if people want to see Homestead at Angels.com,
first you've got to see the Bonhoeffer film.
Make sure you see the Bonhofer film.
And then, of course, Homestead.
We will be back with Jared LeMaster of the Babylon Bee.

Welcome back talking to Jared.
The master of the Babylon B.
All right, Jared, what else do we talk about?
Yeah, so we have something you've done a sketch at the Babylon B, a new sketch?
Yeah, we have a new sketch about the wokeification of Dungeons and Dragons.
It's kind of a big subject on Twitter right now, or X.
Yeah, so basically there are rules in the rulebook now that require you to choose your gender, your pronouns.
You know, they'll even give you pronouns sheets, you know.
Can I just tell you, look, look, Dungeons and Dragons.
I knew you were going to say this.
When I was 17 years old, I was friends with some nerdy people who were friends with some really, really nerdy people.
And the really, really nerdy people played Dungeons and Dragons.
And I thought, well, it'll be interesting.
I've heard about it.
Let's play it.
It was really nerdy.
I said, you know, for the rest of my life, I think I'll skip this.
I'm going to make a point of skipping this because I get the impression as soon as somebody brings up Dungeons and Dragons.
Like, this is ultra-nerd territory.
And it's the territory over the decades that leads us right to the people that are so confused or into whatever it is that I'm not into that this would be right up the alley of like the ultra-woke lunacy.
I mean, that it seems when you say that Dungeons and Dragons,
has gone woke, I'm thinking, well, you didn't even tell me.
I would have assumed that anybody interested in playing those kinds of
you know, you'd be surprised.
The entire gaming world, you know, these are guys that play these board games.
You know, Kyle's big time into the board game thing.
And he literally owns like hundreds of board games.
It's all over his office.
What kind of board games?
We're talking like the really detailed character art, like, you know,
role playing board games like Dungeons and Dragons.
There's,
See, when you say board games,
I think of monopoly.
I know.
Lights and ladders.
Right.
These are the ones that come with the famous,
it's a 12-sided dice, right?
A 12-sided dice.
Yeah.
Or a D-20 or like whatever.
Yeah.
Incredibly detailed dice and options and.
Yeah.
And what people don't realize is it's 12 sides because whatever number it lands on,
that's the number of years that you will be without a girlfriend.
That's what they're used for.
It's true.
I've only played Dungeons and Dragons once in my life too.
I went to my buddy's house and I was like,
this is really weird.
But the sketch is very funny.
And Elon Musk has been talking about it a lot because, you know,
you have to do something like,
if you get uncomfortable, there's a sign.
You have to like do this.
What is that?
We're on radio for most people.
So what is that?
So for our blind.
For our blind listeners,
it's the X.
You put an X above your head to let them know.
that you're uncomfortable.
So like, say some scenario.
Okay, then I don't really have the energy and my jacket's a little tight,
but picture me doing that right now in this conversation.
It feels like.
I'm doing it right now.
If somebody talks about, say, heteronormative relationships or, for instance,
or maybe systems of government that might depict capitalism,
you put the X up, I am uncomfortable with this.
You know, we have to be honest sometimes.
were serious and say that really because I normally don't step back and make these kind of global
observations. But when you think how this unshirted lunacy has taken over large swathes of the
American population, it's kind of amazing. People that are just in the past, we would say they're
crazy. That person's crazy. The idea that you could be triggered, that you would need to say,
I'm uncomfortable, that you have misgendered me. There's a whole,
world of crazy. I mean, there was this woman, what's her name, Taylor Lawrence or whatever,
freaking out, that everybody should be wearing masks. And you think, we haven't had this
in America until recently, that there are people that are just flat out nuts. But it's,
it's not that we haven't had nutsy people. We always have. But they're trying to mainstream
it and trying to make it seem like if we don't go along with their lunacy, we're the lunatics.
We've never had that before. But it really speaks to where we are in the culture.
idea that an EMP could clear things up real quickly, you know.
Which brings us back to Homestead.
You know, there's nothing more clarifying.
An EMP, please explain that, you know, because people don't know.
An electromagnetic pulse that takes the grid down.
I think all the heteronormative conversations go out the door.
I mean, thank you.
I'm triggered that it's a straight dragon and not a gay dragon.
Are there gay dragons in the new Dungeons and Dragons, Jerry?
Yeah.
What's that?
Are there gay dragons?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Oh, 100.
Yeah.
In the new one.
In the new one.
That's what they're hoping.
They're hoping you choose a gay dragon.
Like that's like the, that's like the main character.
I would say, like, I don't know.
Yeah.
But the gay dragons can't reproduce.
It hits and it doesn't bring fire.
Yeah, it hisses.
It doesn't fire.
They're going to go extinct.
That's the problem.
Well, seriously, though, it is so interesting that it shows a level of cultural decay that people can be
having these conversations.
because if you were like, you know, living on the prairie on the frontier, you know, hunting for your food, trying not to get killed by local.
Like out there, raw dog in the air?
And you would, in that case, you're not going to be worried about should I wear a mask or what is my gender.
And this is kind of where we are.
It's a level of decay in the culture that prosperity has led us to.
So you do wonder if an EMP might be just what we're looking for right now.
Yeah, well, I'm not sure that would be a really good thing.
I feel like it would be really hard on everybody and not many people would survive.
They run these scenarios, literally.
They run these scenarios.
And if there was an EMP that knocked out all of the electronic grid,
you couldn't restart it because EMPs burn everything out.
And something like 99% of the people would die in the first year.
On that positive note, Jared LeMaster of the Babylon B.
Yeah.
Thank you.
I hope people will check out Homestead at angel.com, angel.com, angel.com, angel.com.
Jared Lamaster, God bless you.
Bless you.
Thank you for having me.
You sheltered me from her.
Hey there, folks.
As promised, I want to get my friend Kevin McCullough back on here to talk about CSI.
This is an insane opportunity.
I beg you, take advantage of the.
opportunity to free a slave. There's nothing more significant. Anyone could do. No better Christmas
present. You could give to someone to say that you've done this in their name. You've freed a slave.
You go to metaxistococococcom. Metaxistococke.com. The banner's right there.
So my first question for you, Kevin McCullough, you were recently on here talking about the work CSI does.
I thought I'd have you back. So you could detail further the impact that is made. So what do you say?
Well, the great thing about what CSI is doing, and I love the fact that our shows do this together.
We're both in the process of asking people to join the effort.
And what's great about doing it at this time of year is that we are just around the corner from another major liberation with Christian Solidarity International.
And what that means is that people are going to be freed and they're going to be allowed to go home.
And as you think about the holidays and kind of what this is.
is normally, you know, all about, going home is a big thing for a lot of us at this time of year.
But imagine being someone who was kidnapped from your home when you were maybe six, seven, eight years of age.
You're a girl.
Your parents may have been killed in front of you.
Your mom may have been raped in front of you.
There may have been things that you've seen repeatedly in how people treated you over and over again for dozens of years.
and now as an adult, you have the first opportunity this Christmas to be with people that love you,
to be with people that have missed you, to be with people that have wondered if you were even still alive.
That's the beauty of CSI at Christmas time.
We have a liberation that is just around the corner and we can give them that new life, that return home,
that blessing that we all enjoy when we go home for Christmas.
we can give that to these hurting hearts that have not felt it in years and in some instances ever.
Kevin, where does the $250 go that it frees the slave?
I mean, there's more.
How are those resources specifically utilized?
The CSI program is pretty straightforward.
There are what we refer to as retrievers that are Sudan Arabs that want to have good relationships with South.
Sudan Christians. And they have been recruited over time, over the number of years the CSI has been
doing this, to go into Sudan and look for slaves that are thought to still be alive, thought to
still be there. At one point, there were 185,000 women and children that had been taken as slaves.
We believe the number is somewhere around 35,000 now, after years and years and years of CSI,
basically being the lone voice in the wilderness saying, we got to do something about this. But
These retrievers locate them.
They alert CSI.
They engage in negotiation and they secure the release of the slave.
Now, what the slave master will usually release the slave for in exchange is a very hard-to-get
cattle vaccine that helps their cattle withstand the extreme temperatures of what they are
going through.
Many of these slave masters are ranchers.
cattle is their only means of material wealth or income.
And so, you know, you can't be having cattle die on you and be successful.
So the life of the cow or the bull is more valuable to the slave master than the life of the slave.
And CSI is able to effectively say, if you'll release this slave, we will see to it that we get a vaccine for your cattle.
having said that, the $250 specifically gives the slave a brand new life.
And when I refer to that, what I'm talking about is everything that they need.
So they'll have things like blankets and tarps and things to keep them secure from the weather.
There will be in this bag of hope, many bags.
One will be of a year's worth of sorghum grain and a supply that will last them for the first year of their liberation.
another bag will be a bag of seed that they will have to plant for a future crop that will feed them in years to come.
So you're kind of tending to the immediate problem and you're addressing the longer term problem in the same gift.
There are things like utensils to cook, clean, garden fish with.
There are other items that are included.
There may be feminine products.
There may be Bibles.
There may be special medications that certain slaves need because of how they've been.
been abused or what they've experienced.
But all of that is included in the bag of hope.
And then kind of the icing on the Sunday is getting this little baby she goat that they
can then kind of turn into a micro enterprise for themselves, sell the milk, create milk
and cheese for their family, be able to breed that goat and have other baby goatlets,
kids running around.
And when they sell those, then you have a means of income for the slave as well.
all of that, everything I just described for $250 one time.
And that's what she needs to start her life over again.
And then when they have the bag of hope, when they've kind of rested up at the border,
they go to the town, the place, the region, the family where they are from,
and the party begins.
The people that welcome these slaves home, if they remember them, they celebrate them for coming home.
If they don't, if they've never seen them before, they welcome them because they know
that they were a slave. They know that they were in basically a living death sentence. And now
they're free. And when slaves can't be connected to relatives or to people that they knew from
their childhood, then there are communities of slaves that are living together now. And they're
able to encourage one another because they're no longer in slavery. So it's a holistic approach
to help the woman heal, to help the woman start her life over again, to give her a dignity
that she's never had, and to assure her that she's not going to have to experience the mutilations,
the rapes, the sexual assaults, the abuse, the beating, the verbal assaults, the physical assaults,
they're not going to have to endure that anymore because they have come home. It is a beautiful thing.
Hey, folks, listeners to my show know I'm passionate about the work of Christian Solidarity International
because they protect and free those who are being persecuted and enslaved for their faith.
Thanks to you today, CSI has freed more than 100,000 people from slave,
in Sudan, but the work is not done yet. It's estimated that there are still tens of thousands more
still in bondage, and CSI is preparing right now for their final slave liberation of this year.
I'm hoping you'll join me and help them liberate another 300 women and children. Your gift of just
$250 will free a woman in Sudan who has been enslaved for years and provide her with food and
other supplies necessary to start her new life. Call 888-253-3522. 888-253.5-3.000.

Matt Thayer, SalemNow.com. Now, I got to say, in terms of Christmas gifts, I keep doing this, right?
There's all these Christmas gifts. Number one is CSI. Go to metaxishtasotocot.com or dial the number that I just

them there. That's a great place to get them. You can also get them at Socrates in the city.com. There's all
kinds of cool swag. I keep saying put together a Socrates package for a friend or a relative with the new Socrates
book and whatever Socrates swag you want to give to them. You can get them a subscription to Socrates Plus. That's $5 a month.
It's like every month. It's kind of a cool thing to do. So Socrates and city.com and then most
my books are available.
And when I mention my books, I want to highlight,
Is Atheism Dead?
We're making a big deal TV series from the book,
Is Atheism Dead?
It is amazing stuff.
I didn't find this stuff.
I mean, I read other books and I find this stuff,
and I realize nobody's writing about this.
Nobody knows about this.
I've got to tell the world.
So that's my book, Is Atheism Dead?
Honestly, if you have somebody in your life who isn't sure whether God exists,
this, so they're kind of eh, this will pump them up.
It's really, it's amazing stuff, evidence for God.
Also, I want to mention the Donald Drain's the Swamp books.
These are hilarious, honestly.
They're great, fun, fun, fun gifts.
There are three books.
You can get all that stuff at my store.com if you use the code.
Eric, my store.com, if you use the code, Eric, most of my books are there.
But the Donald drains the swamp books are there.
You can also get them on Amazon.
They're way cheaper if you use the code Eric and you go to my store.com way cheaper.
Mystore.com use the code Eric.
Many of my books are there.
If you use the code Eric, way cheaper than wherever else you get them.
And then the cruise, I've got to say this is like a huge gift.
I mean, the biggest gift you could get is if you want to give $15,000 tax deductible to CSI.
if you give $15,000, I will, out of the goodness of my heart, take an evening.
I have very few evenings left.
I'm so busy.
But I will spend an evening having dinner with you and whatever.
And that's a crazy gift to say to somebody like, hey, we're going to get,
we're going to have dinner, spend an evening with Eric Metaxus.
You want to come.
That's a crazy fun gift to get for somebody if you want.
And while you're doing it, you're freeing 60 slaves.
Pretty beautiful.
But again, that's metaxis talk.com.
