Starting point is 00:00:00 Folks, welcome to the Eric Mattaxas show, sponsored by Legacy Precious Metals. There's never been a better time to invest in precious metals. Visit legacy pm investments.com. That's legacy pm investments.com. Taxis show with your host, Eric Mettaxas. Folks, welcome to hour two. I'm talking to John Zmirak. John, you wrote a wonderful article. I put it all over social media about this film called Amsterdam. Talk about this. This is an amazing concept. First of all, Amsterdam is a, I think it's a really fun, funny, and emotionally moving story. It's kind of long, but I think it works. It's a lot, it's, it's,
Starting point is 00:00:54 it has the feel like a 1930s screwball comedy, kind of like Preston Sturgis's movies like Sullivan's Travels or Hail the Conquering Hero or, uh, his gal Friday. It's an old-fashioned movie in that sense. And it's said in the 1930s, during the Depression, during the rise of fascism and communism around the world. It stars Christian Bale and Margot Robbie with smaller roles for Robert De Niro, Taylor Swift, Mike Myers, Chris Rock, Remy Malick, all a bunch of really terrific actors. And it's beautiful Art Deco interiors, and that's my favorite architectural style, great, beautiful gowns for the women, tuxitos for the men.
Starting point is 00:01:39 It's gorgeous to look at it. it's moving and its villain is planned parenthood. Okay, you're not joking. Folks, if you read the article at stream.org, you can see this is true. Now, clearly, the people who made this film, this is a big Hollywood film, they never would have wanted anyone to know that the actual villain is planned parenthood. So what do they do to hide that? Okay, well, I don't think they realized it, frankly.
Starting point is 00:02:09 The villains of the movie are trying, and I don't want to do too many spoilers, but the villains of the movie are a cabal of American businessmen who want to overthrow Franklin Roosevelt and put in a fascist dictatorship using disgruntled World War I veterans and military heroes as their frontmen, as their puppets. And this really happened. It was something called the business plot where a bunch of industrialists approached General Smedley Butler, who was really, popular former World War I commander, and they wanted him to be their figurehead and overthrow the U.S. government and create a fascist dictatorship. They were inspired by Mussolini. They were inspired by Hitler. Remember, this is the early 30s. The Holocaust hadn't happened yet. Fascism was fashionable in certain circles. The New Republic once said we needed an American Mussolini. Yes, they wrote that. So in the movie, there's this cabal of business then
Starting point is 00:03:07 trying to take over the government. They're called the Committee of the Five. And this is a subplot in the movie, but there's a subplot. One of the black characters gets shoved into a sterilization clinic run by the Committee of the Five. And the doctors there say, we can stop the curse. We can stop the curse of your genetics right now, right here. We can stop it. We're here to purify the race. And I think what the makers of the movie did not realize is that the sterilization that exists, there was mandatory sterilization in 13 states in America. People who failed culturally biased IQ tests would be forcibly sterilized by the government. It happened at least 60,000 Americans, disproportionately black and immigrant, Southern European, people who didn't get the questions on the very wasky IQ test. because it made references to tea towels and cricket and croquet, and they didn't know what the hell that was.
Starting point is 00:04:13 So they were marked as morons, that was the term used, and they were forcibly sterilized, 60,000 of them. The sponsor of these laws was the American Birth Control League led by Margaret Sanger. She wrote the model legislation. She helped lobby to get it passed in 13 states. She tried to get the American Baby Code passed. She proposed that in 1934. The American Baby Code would have required every couple who wants to have a kid has to apply for a one-time license from the federal government to have a child,
Starting point is 00:04:46 and it's not renewable. So she wanted to put our family life, our childbearing, under the control of the federal government of elites like herself. Her sterilization and eugenics program directly inspired the one in Nazi Germany. And Germany celebrated that. brought her right-hand man, Harry Loughlin, who was one of the authors of the eugenics laws, work with Planned Parenthood on the board, work with Margaret Sanger, on the board of her organization. The Nazi government flew him to Germany, gave him a whirlwind tour,
Starting point is 00:05:20 and gave him an honorary degree from Kaiser Wilhelm University. Margaret Sanger also collaborated with someone named, oh, I'm sorry, I have to get his name. She collaborated with a German eugenicist named Oigin Fisher. Oigin Fisher wrote the eugenics textbook that converted Hitler to eugenics. Oigin Fisher had run a concentration camp in Africa before World War I where he killed, sterilized, and experimented on thousands of black Africans. This is the man Margaret Sanger. She published his articles.
Starting point is 00:06:02 She put him on her board. she invited into meetings, she had him speak. Planned Parenthood was tied in with Nazi eugenics from the very beginning. Then when Nuremberg happened and they revealed all the horrors that eugenics led to, planned parenthood suddenly stopped, suddenly stopped talking about eugenics and started talking about the population explosion. They came up with a new excuse to control other people's fertility, forcibly sterilized them, and put abortion clinics in mostly black and Hispanic neighborhoods.
Starting point is 00:06:33 I don't think the makers of the movie Amsterdam had any idea of this, but this is the real history they're tapping into in this entertaining and really fun movie. So I recommend people see it and use it as a teaching tool. I have an article about it at stream.org, but I also want people to go out and watch this video. It's still on YouTube miraculously. It's called Mafa 21, N-A-A-A-F-As-and-Frank-A, Maffa-2-1 Black Genocide. It is a two and a half hour expose of how white elites in America tried to sterilize minorities using the government and Planned Parenthood was at the beating black heart of this entire conspiracy.
Starting point is 00:07:17 What's fascinating to me, John, is how there's nothing new under the sun. Now, there's the demonic forces that are trying to take children away from their parents today or trying to get the kids to transition and take hormone blockers and have these, you know, they're trying to do this secretly and effectively saying the state owns your children. This kind of thing goes back and we've had to fight it through the decades all the way back. But you're telling me that this film, Amsterdam, which is an otherwise you say very good film, fun film to watch, but that they have put inadvertently, unwittingly, as the villain, the group that became Planned Parenthood.
Starting point is 00:07:59 I mean, it's fascinating. Reality always gets you eventually. If you're telling the truth on any level, it's going to, it'll lead to trouble for you if you're allied with folks like Planned Parenthood. And don't rule out divine intervention. You know, this might be like Gallum biting Frodo's finger off and falling into Mount Doom.
Starting point is 00:08:20 Okay. So I don't know if the film is out, but it's Amsterdam. No, it's out. It's in the theaters. It's really fun. It's, you know, you'll go through a whole bucket of popcorn. It's got Margot Robbie. She is so beautiful.
Starting point is 00:08:32 It's distracted. I could watch her just for the whole. I mean, everybody you mentioned the cast is kind of an amazing cast. It's a mainstream film. The reason that I wanted to talk to you about this was because I think this is just the nature of reality. It is that if reality always wins, it's like you're playing against the house. God created reality. And so if you're telling stories and trying to be truthful or whatever, eventually, you know,
Starting point is 00:08:59 truth will out, as Shakespeare said. It's just a law of the world in which we live. So the fact that they try to make this film where we all know that, you know, sterilizing black people is bad, but what they don't know, what they don't tell you in the film, which is why I wanted to have you on, is that the people behind this are the people behind Planned Parenthood, literally Margaret Sanger and the ones you've mentioned Oigin. What's his name, Fisher? Orgin Fisher. Look him up. Oiggen. How do you spell Oigand? F, it's Eugene without the E. Oigan, U-U-G-E-N, E-U-G-E-N-Fisher.
Starting point is 00:09:35 Fisher with a C, F-I-S-C-H-E-R. You look at O-G-F-E-R, or better yet, go, go to YouTube and watch Mafa 21. Okay. I tell you, I used up a roll of toilet paper crying watching this video. Mafa 21. John, it's just always a joy to have you, my friend. Thank you. I'm glad you're back to be continued.
Starting point is 00:09:54 Folks, stick around, plenty more. In case you haven't been paying attention, The Biden administration has caused a financial crisis, and they have no clue how to fix it. Oil prices have skyrocketed, and when oil prices go up, the cost of transportation and shipping spikes, leading the prices of goods to rise. And when we're already seeing record inflation, that's the last thing we need. Our economy is in trouble, and you need to take steps to protect yourself. If all your money is tied up in stocks, bonds, and traditional markets, you are vulnerable.

Make the switch today and a difference tomorrow. Patriotmobile.com slash Eric. Patriotmobile.com slash Eric. Patriot. Hey, wait a minute. Oh, sorry. I guess we've got to start. Katie Hopkins is my guest. Is that how you pronounce it? Katie Hopkins. Well, if you would like, you could call me Mam. Hopkins. Hopkins. What does your husband call you Little Birdie? So my husband is called, yeah, there's a whole story on this as well. Also, you do really shifty eyes just before you start. Do you know that? You do this.
Starting point is 00:12:44 I think it's just part of my innate comic nature. I cannot help. mugging for the cameras. It's your comedic genius. They're people who listen on the radio. They don't know this. They're quite unaware, even that I have eyes. Or that you're so good looking. Or that's the thing that really hurts my feelings.
Starting point is 00:13:00 They're missing out. They're unaware of the trouble that we've gone to. When I think of the pockmarks that have been covered up for our makeup lady, but seriously. She works tirelessly into the night. We should say, ladies and gentlemen, before I let Katie get an word on edgewise, if you're not subscribed, metaxis talk.com. You can watch these programs, and you at least want to see what Katie's wearing or not wearing. Yes.
Starting point is 00:13:26 Okay? I didn't say that. She did. Yes, exactly. And my hair is very high. Your hair. My hair. So if you're just listening in audio and you're not watching in vision, you're missing.
Starting point is 00:13:37 Not only your sheer hotness, but also my high hair. The unbelievably. High hair. The heath. The heath of my hair. It's very hard. So my husband is called Mark Cross, right? His name is Mark Cross
Starting point is 00:13:50 He's not always cross But his name is cross Exactly And then that was problematic When we met Because I realized I was going to marry him And all I had to do
Starting point is 00:14:00 Was torturously persuade him To ask me to marry him As if it was his idea Right Which is how women work But I realized At that time I was known And I'm not going to say a rude word
Starting point is 00:14:10 So but it rhymes with which And I was known as the biggest Witch In Britain at that time What year was this? Oh, goodness me. 15 years ago. And so I was like, well, do you know what?
Starting point is 00:14:24 I cannot marry someone called Cross, because then the angriest woman in Britain will be known as Katie Cross. And when I tell people, they'll laugh. So I kept my name, he has his name, and he calls me Little Birdie. Because he says that all I do is that is really, that is clever and funny and sweet.
Starting point is 00:14:46 Is it? Is it? Little Birdie. Well, and if I'm cross at home, right? This is oversharing way too far, but don't worry, it's not physical. Well, I mean, it sort of is. I do this. So if he's annoyed me, I flap my wings until he does something that I like.
Starting point is 00:15:01 I just love, there's so many, because I'm a fan of, well, we're anglofiles, and there's so many things that are uniquely English or British. And the word cross, it's what we don't say that here. and I've basically, I never talk about my daughter on the air. No, exactly. But she, you know, she has a room in our home. And, you know, it's always shut. And I always pretend that we have a lodger. And I refer, I say that's where, that's the cross lodger.
Starting point is 00:15:35 The cross lodger. And you can just imagine a woman, a woman in her 70s with a hot plate who lives in that room, the cross lodger. And you open the door. And the cross lot. Anyway, okay. So your husband's name is cross. It's cross.
Starting point is 00:15:49 So your children's names. Well, so, well, they were Hopkins in an initial phase. Yeah. But when things got really dark for me in the UK, so when, you know, first of all, it was my jobs they took. We know that I'll just summarize. Then it was, they came from my home. They came, a couple of jihadis came from my head, that whole stuff.
Starting point is 00:16:08 What year was that? That must have been about 10 years ago, I think. They came for your head. I know they. So a couple of jihadis. it. No, they practiced, so they had a house. We're not kidding.
Starting point is 00:16:20 No, this is straight. Yeah, you can do assassination of Katie Hopkins or Katie Hopkins jihadis. People will find it for themselves. Because you, as an English woman, were speaking against the cultural takeover in England, this radical Muslim takeover of the nation. And you know what? Anybody who's still in the media in the UK knows and also knows they must not speak of it. because if you speak of it, you will be removed.
Starting point is 00:16:48 But yes, a couple of jihadis came to remove my head. One of them wanted it as a wedding present, which is very odd. Culturally, it's very strange. They practice with a hunting knife and a shop dummy, and then they came to take it, but they were captured and they're now serving time inside. So it was a real beheading attempt. Ladies and gentlemen, this is not a joke.
Starting point is 00:17:08 Katie, I mean, I forget things. That's just so extraordinary. It's so weird. Weirder still. is that's a weird, weird wedding present. Like, we may do with like... Well, I think that tells you everything you need to know. Right.
Starting point is 00:17:21 You know. We may do with a Mike Lindell mattress topper. Right. We're pretty happy with that. We're looking for a mattress topper. Nobody gets killed and it's unbelievably comfortable. Unbelievable. And use the code Eric.
Starting point is 00:17:33 And if you've got some slippers as well, I mean, they're revolutionary right there, four layers. And how about the coffee? MyStore.com. Use the code Eric. But... Is there a code Eric on everything? Oh, of course. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:43 So my point that we were getting to, it was related to names. So the children, we changed the children's names so they don't have my name. And then I have never, not for a day, gone near any of my children's schools. So anything like parents' evening or picking up or dropping off or an emergency pickup, I never go near the school. Because you're such a hot potato. Just to make that distance. So to try and keep them safer than being near me. Wow.
Starting point is 00:18:13 Yeah, so it's a thing in my country. And that's another reason to be super grateful that I get to speak here. I get to speak here. Well, it's fascinating to me because we know, you know, when people say this is a divided country, I really believe that's mostly not true. We have the illusion of some kind of down-the-middle division. The reality is most Americans understand that a rooster cannot lay an egg. that there are men and there are women.
Starting point is 00:18:46 And the basics are the basics. And they don't have much of a voice. So you would think that the crazies have taken over enough and that, you know. And that's what I sort of love is that when the lizard starts to eat its own tail. And that happens all over the place. So in my country where there is Muslim majorities in Birmingham, say, LGBT can't force their agenda onto three-year-olds because, Because the Muslim parents have majority, have power, and they will not allow it.
Starting point is 00:19:20 They barricade schools. And suddenly I find myself on the same side. But isn't that, but this is what's so interesting is, this gets to something that I'm talking about everywhere I go in my speeches, which are increasingly less humorous because this is so serious. Oh, Eric. Well, in this case, the book that I've written is called Letter to the American Church, but I talk about the unwillingness of Christians to fight for what is wrong. And it is an abdication of one's duty before God and one's fellow man to fight for what is right. Muslims have, that's one thing where we can agree with them. They're willing to stand up for what they believe in.
Starting point is 00:19:59 And then some. And then some. They would not let a single child through those school gates until they had that taken off the agenda. And in a way that Christian parents have never achieved that. The ladies that stopped me at 42nd Street on my way here today, they, two British ladies, were like, keep doing what you do. We don't have your courage, but keep fighting.
Starting point is 00:20:17 And I say some people don't want to be at the pointy end of the spear, but to know that they support you, that can be enough. But I think that's one of the great things about where we're arriving at is we got Yonkin into Virginia, right? I'm speaking as if I'm an American. I know I'm a foreigner. Yonken. And he got in by saying his entire campaign platform was
Starting point is 00:20:38 parents should have a say in their children's education. We've reached a point of peak madness where that is enough, though, that is enough. As a campaign platform, it's enough to say, yeah, parents have got a view on their kids. What a great thing, actually, that that becomes enough. Well, that's the thing is that there's a famous scripture, Romans 828. All things work together for good for those that love the Lord and are called, according to his purpose, all things, including horrible things, eventually can redound to the good. And that's what's happening right now, is that the craziness, it's so crazy that a lot of people that were previously sleepwalking along have woken up and said, wait a minute.
Starting point is 00:21:27 Yes. Would you dare to say that I have no right in my children's education? Yes. That's crazy. Now I'm activated. Okay, folks, we have just one. minute left in the segment. Is that right? Okay, Katie, I've gotten a little off topic here. Oh, well, that's normal. What were we going to talk about? I have absolutely no idea whatsoever,
Starting point is 00:21:49 but let me say one thing quickly. Say anything. We have time. I was in New York when it was first lockdown. Like on the day that it was locked down, I was here. I was back in New York when the ridiculous vaccine mandate was on, and it was only white people in restaurants, and me and black people were sat in the curb eating. It was like a new party. And now I'm back in New York, and it is back to life and that is restorative. It's like an oasis. Wherever badness is, goodness will take over and goodness prevails. And New York City today is a testament to that. Oh, absolutely. And I tell people, we have a Socrates in the city event November 1st. I wish, so wish you were here for that. I wish I was here. But David
Starting point is 00:22:24 Berlinsky, oh, he is. Is he as good as me? Oh my gosh. If you know, we'll talk about him off air, but you can't even, no, you can't imagine. David Berlinski, November 1st, but people actually inquire, they say, are there vaccine mandates? Can you? And I think, are you kidding me? Like, that's done. And the only thing is you could get stabbed. But you know what? That happens.
Starting point is 00:22:47 You know what I'm saying? No, it's wonderful. It actually is wonderful. And I shouldn't even joke about that. Folks, we'll be right back talking to Katie. What's your name, dear, Hopkins. Hopkins. Doctor, my eyes have seen the years and the slow parade of fears without pride.
Starting point is 00:23:05 Now I want to. Tell me, Eric, Why is relief factor so successful at lowering or eliminating pain? I'm often asked that question. The owners of Relief Factor tell me they believe our bodies were designed to heal. That's right, designed to heal. And I agree with them. So the doctors who formulated Relief Factor for them selected the four best ingredients,

Starting point is 00:25:01 Vinia.com slash Salem. Whenever people come on this program, I ask them, without fail, I ask them, do you have a good golf cart story. Inevitably, their answer is no. But today, I asked Katie Hopkins, and it seems that she does. Katie, what is your golf cart story? If you haven't
Starting point is 00:25:31 got, and let's just be clear, they're not called golf carts, they're called golf buggies. Oh. Yeah. In England, they're buggies. And if you haven't got a good golf buggy story, I mean, who even are you? I mean. Why are you on the planet? I know.
Starting point is 00:25:46 And will your listeners know? about the largest retirement community on the face of the planet, which is in Orlando, called The Villages. Yes. Whenever I hear that, it sounds like a 1970s dystopian.
Starting point is 00:26:01 Yes. The Villages. It is sort of. It's like you could see, it's going to be either children that with laser eyes or something, but it sounds scary. Yes.
Starting point is 00:26:14 The villages. Yes. And so if you imagine, instead of like, AI, 80-year-olds, working on automated intelligence on golf buggies that are controlled by someone else. That would be the sort of reality. So it's the largest retirement community on the face of the planet,
Starting point is 00:26:26 and it's tripling in size over the next few years because everybody wants to live there. Because it's in Florida, because the governor is DeSantis. And everybody gets there, and it's so much fun. And I love going there. So I have quite a little crowd there now that turn out when I go there. I have a golf buggy hireman who gets me my golf buggy. I know the hotel dudes there. they look after me.
Starting point is 00:26:49 So anyway, I'm in my little golf cart. Wait, wait, wait. Do you mean to tell me that the golf cart or buggy is used as general transportation? Oh. That they don't have actual, like, you know, cars driving around? Is that the idea? I'm seeing, I need to bring the listeners with. The only way of getting around really is a golf cart.
Starting point is 00:27:09 An electric golf cart. But they have golf carts that they soup up. So they have them like as if they look like a plane. Some of them look like a fancy. like old-fashioned, old-time vehicle. Some look like a Maserati. I didn't know this. And they go twice the speed of sound.
Starting point is 00:27:25 Like they fly. So these old dudes are like, we have not got time to waste. We may not wake up tomorrow. Therefore we must drive like a bat out of... Heck. Heck. A bat out of Gehenna.
Starting point is 00:27:38 Yes. Cheel, as it were. And then me, as an English lady, I'm on my golf buggy trying to like, hey, keep up with them, not get in their way because they're fierce. and there's a whole system, there's GPS to get you around it.
Starting point is 00:27:51 Yeah. So I've got my golf buggy, and I'm driving around the villages, and I'm doing all the wrong things, I'm going the wrong way. I'm on the main road that's supposed to only be for cars, but I'm on it with my car because I've got a muddle-buddle. I went into an event thing I was doing, and someone came out and put a sign on my, a fixed a sign to my golf buggy window,
Starting point is 00:28:14 this big the sign, not small, forgive me, I'm British, you're lucky, I'm on the right side of the road. Is that not the cheekiest thing you ever did here? That's pretty cheeky. Some of these oldsters, man. Cool. I tell you. So I was doing the opener for DeSantis when I was there.
Starting point is 00:28:33 You were doing what? The opener. I was the warm-up act for DeSantis. Which I would offer to be in real life every dang day. You know something? This is a family program, Katie. He's a hoody-ho-ho-ho-o. But here's what's interesting to me is that,
Starting point is 00:28:46 DeSantis, this is the madness in which we're now living, is that all you have to do is be normal and you're a hero. My wife and I ran an event about a year and a half ago. DeSantis spoke. I've not met him, but he spoke. And he said, in Florida, we're going to make sure that only young women in high schools are competing against other young women. And people cheered and we cheered. And I looked at my wife and I said, do you believe that we're cheering? This is like saying, we're going to make sure the one plus one equals.
Starting point is 00:29:16 two only in Florida and people cheered because that's how crazy it is. Exactly. And that's the kind of the Yonkin point earlier is you have someone standing there saying very basic things. Like we're going to try and make it so that only people who live here get the advantages of living here, people cheer. And that's where we've got to. You called it the lizard swallowing its own tail. We would say the snake swallowing its own tail. Right. But it's an image. It's actually on the cover of my most recent book is the image of the snake swallowing its own tail. What's your most recent book called, Eric? Well, actually, it's the book before the new book.
Starting point is 00:29:50 Okay, we don't need the detail. Let's go with the name. It's called Is Atheism Dead? And the idea is that when you're dealing with this thing we like to call reality, if you are not, you're making me very conscious of my own American accent, reality. Reality. It's okay. It's a beautiful thing what you've done to the English language, really.
Starting point is 00:30:09 Thank you. It's beautiful. I love it when you don't even bother with the consonants. When you're dealing with what we call reality, eventually if you are not in line with reality, you destroy yourself. Reality. The snake swallows its own tail. And that's what happens when you take any of these preposterous theories to their logical reductio ad absurdum.
Starting point is 00:30:36 Oh, very nice. When you do that, you see that they're not self-sustaining, that they're self-destroying. and every one of these things that we're talking about, you know, the idea that there are not two sexes or two genders, it eventually, what's going to happen? We're going to destroy the Olympics. There will be no Olympics. You know.
Starting point is 00:30:55 There will be no college sports for women. At what point does somebody say, okay, this is not acceptable. And I think that's, you know, seeing DeSantis, watching him in a room, watching him, watching people be thrilled. Not because they've got a politician there or a celebrity or whatever, just people be thrilled. they've got someone fighting for them, and I love it. Well, this is the thing, and I have to say I take my head off to DeSantis for letting you open for him,
Starting point is 00:31:23 because most politicians would say, no, no, no, Katie is a little too radioactive. The fact that he is willing to have you do that, just as I'm obviously thrilled to have you on this program, it says something about him because there are a lot of people that they would agree with us on many things, but they still are a little too cautious. It's called being a coward. And cowards are thrown into the lake of fire. It's in the last few, it's the last page of the scripture. We'll be right back.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is my great misfortune to have as my guest won Katie Hopkins. Katie, you, listen, you claim to be, you know, dyed in the wool British. and yet you're unfamiliar with the film starring Sir Alec Guinness called Kind Hearts and Coronets. You're unfamiliar.
Starting point is 00:34:42 I think I'm too young, aren't I? I'm just not as old as you. Have you heard, for example, of Prime Minister Disraeli? I think that may be before your time, Katie. And yet you've heard of Disraeli. The thing is that there are these things called Black and White Films. They were produced by Ealing Studios, most of them starring Alec Guinness,
Starting point is 00:35:01 and they are the most brilliant comedies ever made. And this is my gift to you. You need to watch these films. Oh, they are so amazing. I thought being in your presence was your gift. Yeah. Now that you mention it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:35:13 But Ealing Studios in the 50s, they made all these films with Alec Guinness. And I really want to discuss them with you, but you're not familiar with them. So the next time you come on this program, you need to be prepared. I need to be prepared. Propad.
Starting point is 00:35:26 To have watched black and white movies. But they are just such great films. Alec Guinness is so funny. In any event, I want to ask you, usually when somebody comes on the program and people listen to the program, they know that there's not a guest that comes on the program, and I don't ask them, do you have an anecdote involving Spirit Airlines? Many of them do. Katie, do you have an anecdote?
Starting point is 00:35:48 Oh, well, now you come to mention it, Mr. Metaxus. I love the fact that you're beating yourself up for being silly today. Well, I'm often silly, but you've really, you've helped me become. It's disconcerting for you, isn't it? Actually, no. I'm worried that my audience will just tune out. They said, Eric, enough. Enough.
Starting point is 00:36:08 Katie's funny. You need to shut up. But you, Katie, we're going to tell us about Spirit Airlines. Yes, but actually your audience always have a choice. You can't always please everybody. And actually, people choose to listen to you because they love you. And they'll love you if you're silly and they'll love you if you're serious. I'm feeling quite puffed up now.
Starting point is 00:36:24 There we are. Thank you. So Spirit Airlines, I didn't know. This is like why I say America is. are a bit weird. There's some things I didn't know about America. Like, I didn't know there was a thing called Motel 6. Yeah. And when I went to Flagstaff in Arizona, it's pronounced Flagstaff. I was, Flangstaff. Flagstaff. And there was also a place called what I would say Prescott, but you would say Prescott. No, we'd say Prescott. No, you don't you say Prescott. They've got to rhyme it
Starting point is 00:36:56 with brisket. Well, you say Thames, so shut up. Brisket. I was in. Flanks there. And I was there with the Republican Party and they put me in a Motel 6. That's extraordinary that they would do that. And I'm not fancy, as we know. Yeah. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:37:13 But where I come from on the farms, we have these glue mats. And when we have a rat problem, we throw the glue mats down and the rats stand on the glue and they die. That is essentially what it is like. Being in a Motel 6. On the carpet.
Starting point is 00:37:27 I feared I was stuck there for life. Oh no. My little feet was stuck. But I have to say I'm quite surprised that they would put you up at a motel six. That's what they thought of me. I really am surprised. You said I'm a little radioactive. They obviously thought that'll do for her.
Starting point is 00:37:43 No, that's very strange. Anyway, then you have something called a spirit airline. Well, I've never flown Spirit Airlines because I don't like those things. I mean, actually there are people maybe who there's a reason to, No. But I... No. No.
Starting point is 00:37:59 So I did, because I didn't realize either. And they are quite the something... I think they're called Spirit Airlines because it's the closest to the spirit version of yourself you're ever going to get to in life. Wow. Like it is life and death. It's a...
Starting point is 00:38:15 Right. Seat belts are like an extra. Yeah, they're like you pay extra. Like you pay extra for your luggage or your baggage. You're paying extra for a seatbelt. Like you're paying extra. If you make it, you've done really well. Right.
Starting point is 00:38:27 It's vile. So I've never flown Spirit Airlines. So tell us what... It's all plastic seating. And in the manner that you can have in a nightclub, I don't know if you've ever been to a night club, where they have plastic so that they can literally hose the whole place down in the morning. That's what Spirit Airlines have.
Starting point is 00:38:45 It's plastic so they can literally take a hose to it and hose it down. Because the clientele is such. It's a little sticky. Yeah. It needs a hose down. And it's just there's a whole lot of things going on with Spirit. I didn't know that that was a thing, but I won't be going back there. Yes, and now that I've heard this, I know that I will never fly Spirit.
Starting point is 00:39:07 It is interesting. America has some downsides, but every good thing has a downside. No, America, look. Well, it's the greatest country in the world, but it's going to have, you know. And this is kind of my main message, look. America's maybe a bit weird, and you may have done strange things to the English language, but America is still, American people are unlike any other people on the planet. And listen, the key is you and I have hope.
Starting point is 00:39:34 For example, Maloney, Italy. Huh? Come on. I mean, is that a minute? She called G.K. Chesterton. The fact that she's called Maloney. I mean, is there a better name? Mamma me.
Starting point is 00:39:46 Then she stands up and she says, I'm a straight, white, Catholic, proud Italian, which is like an opening I use when I'm doing my talks. And then the fact that she's, is so powerful. And when you listen to her speak and you watch the people in the squares with their Italian flags and even if you're listening to it in Italian or at least you should be, it's emotionally
Starting point is 00:40:08 overwhelming. And in Sweden too, Swedish Democrats. I'm not aware of this. We're killing it. There's something good happening in Sweden. Sweden, a great coalition of strong right wing, but it doesn't matter what side, just proud Swedish nationalist individuals are now in charge. But that's
Starting point is 00:40:26 the point is that things had to get this bad for these people finally to say, we need to speak up. Yes, and even though the media did their normal campaign of extreme right, far right, Mussolini, blah, blah, blah, blah, they prevailed. Well, honestly, Meloni is just listening to her speak Italian, no matter what she's saying, it's beautiful. But then when it's translated, it's almost inconceivable to me that Europeans are some of them getting these kinds of choices. This is exciting. It's really exciting. And with the Italian voting system, it's different to your voting system or mine. It's proportional representation.
Starting point is 00:41:05 So not only is there Maloney in her party, but it's made up of a little coalition of similarly minded people. So Matteo Salvini, he was the guy that was before her. He's part of her group. So she's backed up by these other strong parties. It's very exciting. This is very exciting. Katie, thank you. We're out of time.
Starting point is 00:41:28 I want to tell people the book is called Help, an LP album, help. And katiesarms.com, the website, Katie'sarms.com. Katie, we love you. It's a joy to have you. Thank you. And at the same time, we're glad you're finally going home to be with your family. Be with lovely Mark. And, yeah.
Starting point is 00:41:50 Well, thank you. Thank you to America for having me here. Hey, Albin. Hey, Eric. We're at the end of another show. We have so much coming up in the next days ahead. It's a little dizzying. I want to say this clearly to people,
Starting point is 00:42:32 because there's so many people come up to me and they say, you used to be on at, you know, midnight, and now I don't know how to find you. I want to say, folks, first of all, we have an app. We've had it for a long time, but people don't know this. Go on your phone, go to the app store, and put in Eric Metaxus show.

And I should mention the Alliance Defending Freedom. If you haven't yet given, we just have a few days left. These guys are at the forefront of the battle for religious liberty in America, and they genuinely need our support. We're asking you to be as generous as you possibly can.

They come to us once or twice a year and they ask us to reach out to our audience. And maybe because we're in the election season, it's been really, really tough. We're going to live in America where we're going to live in America where we're.
