And every year on Flag Day, I make a big deal, as big of a deal as I can, about the fact that it's flag day. It's June 14th. It also happens to be Donald Trump's birthday. It wasn't always Donald Trump's birthday. It wasn't Donald Trump's birthday until the day he was born. Before that, it was just Flag Day. But now it's Donald Trump's birthday and Flag Day.

And I thought we've got to do something to celebrate Flag Day. You have to do something to celebrate Flag Day. And I found out that there is a film called The Relentless Patriot, which is coming out. It's all about the American flag. And I wanted to get the folks on who are behind it. So I have the subject of it is Scott Lobato. he paints flags. He's been painting flags for a million years. It's amazing American flags. But the maker of the film is Josh Maticello. Josh, welcome to the program. Oh, thank you so much for having us, Eric. We appreciate you. Listen, this is exciting. Tell us about this film and how you, you're the man behind Global Ascension Studios and you want to make patriotic films. You want to make non-awoke films. So we're all in right there. So what was the idea or where did you,

get the idea to make a film about Scott Labato who has relentlessly painted the American flag over and over, over his career? Well, I've been in Los Angeles, California for 28 years, and I've been seeing the shift happen to where everything was going political correct and woke and just movies were changing in front of our own eyes. And I've seen Scott Labato posting, he's been an activist for 30 years, he's been fighting for our rights, getting arrested, going to City Hall and doing demonstrations, you know, not only for the American flag, but fighting for our rights,

our civil liberties, whether it's, you know, them trying to put migrants into schools and taking kids out of schools, you know, and him having thousands of people blocking the schools or them trying to get rid of pizza ovens and him protesting pizza ovens

throwing a dozen pies at the mayor's doorstep. You know, these are the kind of things that we saw Scott doing and having some positive results. So in our mind, we said, you know, our first film, we started the company right before COVID started. And our first film, we wanted to make a message and make it patriotic, none better than having a gentleman who calls himself the Relentless Patriot. Okay, so the film is called a Relentless Patriot. But, folks, the reason I'm telling you about this is that this is my advice that to celebrate Flag Day, the least you can do is to see this film. something so beautiful about Flag Day, we need to have a resurgence of patriotism in America. You know, it's funny because, Josh, you live in L.A. I live in New York. Not two places famous at this point for their patriotism. But this film is all across the country. And so tell us, tell us about the film. What's the film about exactly? Is it just the story of Scott Labato's life? Talk about that. Sure, sure. So just to give you a little background, Christopher Martinez, the director, he had been following Scott Labato for six years. following his activism and documenting it, you know, to show that all the different elements that now we're seeing that's a problem today in society that they addressed through Scott's activism and through his art.

On top of that, there were producers in the middle of the country in Arizona, Frank Torture from Torture Films, that saw what they were doing and said, hey, I think you guys got to take a look at these guys. They're starting to make some noise talking about all the points that you guys stand for. as a studio and what you want to do. So the whole movie's an hour and 30 minutes. It goes through Scott's whole drive and rise of being an activist, artist. You know, just most recently, if you guys haven't seen the De Niro

went out crying in front of President Trump at the courthouse and saying all the things. He said Scott immediately had a painting portraying President Trump as Muhammad Ali and De Niro knocked out with a crybaby face on the floor that went viral and all the major media outlets picked it up. Those are the kind of things that the movie reflects.

That was Scott Labato. See, I didn't know that. I didn't know that. If people want to find out more about Scott Labato, they've got to watch The Relentless Patriot. Because, listen, we need to celebrate patriots like Scott Labedo. He's a patriot. And so you've made a film about it called the Relentless Patriot.

Obviously, it's coming out on Flag Day, June 14th. Now, can people see it on June 13th? You were saying that I think if they go to fandango.com, they can see it on the 13th. Absolutely. Absolutely. And my trumpet teacher, Mr. Piccarello, pulled his cornet, silver cornet out. He played taps. We raised the flag.

One of the joys of this program is that I get to introduce my audience to people that I love, like, admire, find interesting that you might not have known about before. One of those people is Pastor Kent Christmas. Yeah, that's his real name. Suzanne and I have been watching him for a few years.

I had the privilege of meeting him in Omaha, Nebraska, at a flashpoint event a couple years ago now. He has a new bookout. He's the founding pastor of Regeneration Nashville. That's a church in, did you guess it? Nashville. Pastor Kent, Christmas, welcome to the program. Thank you, Eric. It's a joy to be with you today.

Well, listen, I was very excited when I realized that you had a book out, give us an excuse to talk. because I've just really enjoyed your ministry. I want to talk about, you know, who you are and how you got to be the man you are today. So now if people think you have a colorful name, Kent Christmas, they haven't heard your wife's name, Candy Christmas. I also met your wife, Candy. How did you come to be the man of faith you are today? Where did you grow up?

I'll start there. Born in California and got delivered from there when I was young. I've been in Washington State, and I've been in Nashville for the last 38 years. And when did you come to faith, or was that something that you were just raised in the faith? No, I was, you know, I was born into a Christian family, and my father was a pastor. He died when I was 12, and I knew early on that I was called to preach, really fought it, answered the call when I was 17. I'm 70 in a week, so I've been preaching for 53 years. Whoa.

Not a lot of people can say that. That's amazing. That's amazing. So you grew up in the church. Not a lot of people say that they were called to preach as a teenager. How did that come about? What kind of, what Christian tradition did you grow up in? Pentecostal.

And so, you know, we, I was raised where it was just, you were all in 100%. You know, my parents were praying people. fell in love with prayers a very young man and still love it today. I try to pray an hour or day right in there. I feel like that my relationship with the Lord is much more important than my role. Well, that's beautiful. My wife and I, both of us came to faith in our 20s and, you know, came right into, you know, the gifts of the Holy Spirit, all that stuff, but didn't realize that it was a thing.

we just assume this is normative Christianity. Obviously, I just want what comes with the faith and the whole thing. We met at David Wilkerson's Church, Times Square Church in New York City, and just that kind of fiery brand of faith. And it took some years before I realized that not everybody has that kind of faith. And so when I'm around people like yourself who have that kind of faith, I'm just very attracted to it because we need to be encouraged and excited about our faith. And obviously, you fall in that category, anybody who's watched you.

So your book, a new book, is called Turning Sorrow Into Joy. I want to talk about that, obviously. What's the idea? What made you say I want to write a book called Turning Sorrow into Joy? What is the sorrow you're talking about? Well, you know, I think that by and large, most believers, you know, they have some real adversity in their life. And unfortunately with social media and television, we only get to see the real successful people and hear the stories of, you know, no financial problems, no health problems, no relationship problems. But for most of us, it's human beings and believers.

We struggle, you know. And I wrote this book because I wanted people to read it and go, when they get done reading and go, I'm going to survive and I'm going to come out of this. triumphant. And in it, you know, we just chronicled a lot of stories over the years of how God developed us into who we are. I'm a real late bloomer. This book, you know, kind of tells that story that I probably preached 47 years before we really saw God begin to do something at the level that he has. And so I wanted people to read it and go, okay, Okay, I've been at it 20 years. I'm still struggling. I want you to know that, hey, God's timing is always right and that he won't forsake you and that you can overcome death of a child. You can overcome divorce. You can overcome sickness, relationship problems, financial issues. Keep doing the right thing, and you're going to come out victorious. Well, look, people need to hear that because I think a lot of people do labor and labor and labor and labor, and they go, I don't get it. Lord, what's going on?

It's not, I'm not where I thought you said I would be. What's, you know, did I mishear you? Did I hear you wrong? When you just said, you know, you preached for 47 years, so you started age 17 and something happened obviously not that many years ago. What happened in your life and your ministry that you're talking about fairly recently? It was the return that Jonathan Conning and Kevin Jessette orchestrated in Washington, D.C., and really went without any expectation.

I didn't, in fact, I didn't even want to go. My wife talked me into it because I just felt like it was another one of those gatherings of symbolism without substance. And when I got there, you know, they put me on towards the end of the very last day. And I'm standing there waiting and I don't have anything. I can't get an unction or a prompt from the Holy Spirit. And finally, I told a friend, I said, this is going to be really bad or really good.

And when I stepped to the podium, you know, there was well over 100,000 people on the mall. Spirit of the Lord just began to speak through us prophetically. And I think it was just a word that was in season. To me, it wasn't unusual because that's what I always did. And not realizing that that was the day that God uncovered our ministry. And, you know, you generally don't know when you're doing something great. You just keep doing what God's called you to do. And from that moment on, Eric, I mean, anonymity went away,

and God began to do incredible things in our life. Well, none of us ever dreamt that we would be where we are in America today. We're in a war. We're in an absolute war, of course, at its heart. It's a spiritual war. But, I mean, none of us could have dreamt about this 10 years ago, 20 years ago. We just couldn't see it. But the Lord could see it.

And obviously, he's been preparing some of us for this time. There's no doubt about it. And what you just talked about, that, you know, you go to this event. And, you know, I'm like you. A lot of times I kind of think, what's the point of this? It's another event with speakers. And what is the point? I don't get it.

Yeah. I don't get it. I don't get it. And what was it? Because you move in the so-called prophetic. I mean, was it what the Lord spoke through you that day? Or what was your sense of what happened that day? You know, I think that one of the things was, you know, I stepped out by faith and the Holy Spirit took over, and that produces anointing. And, you know, intellect will touch people's soul realm. anointing will get a hold of their spirit.

And I think it was a word that, you know, it was right before that election. And God just began to speak something that the body of Christ, we needed to hear from the Lord. And, you know, it's funny because there's only four minutes and 20 seconds, I think, that I spoke. But, boy, I was shocked that it had the impact that it had. But, you know, when I started, it had been really quiet for three years. days. There just didn't seem to be a lot of connection between the speakers and the audience. And when I begin to speak, I had my head down. And all of a sudden, I begin to hear a roar. And I looked up.

And all of these people are standing to their feet with their hands raised and they're shouting. You know, we have to have voices. That's one thing I really appreciate about you, Eric, is the unapologetic voice that you have that's not intimidated by the liberal movement. And we want to use wisdom. But the body of Christ needs to have some champions that have boldness and articulate that we're not nuts, you know, that we speak with some wisdom and some clarity. And so I think that's what happened that day. Well, that's fascinating. Now, it's been some time since I listened to that clip. So we've just got 30 seconds in this segment, and I want to get to it later. But what was the gist of what you said that got people to say, a minute. This is God speaking. Yeah, I think God began to speak hope. He began to declare that there

were some things that were going to be turned around. He addressed some certain issues. And I remember the Lord speaking that even as the laws that went out from this city, so was this day God began to begin to issue some laws out of heaven concerning the body of Christ. And, you know, we can go for so long and God can be silent that, boy, when God does it, speak, it just grabs our heart. And we go, oh, he is here and he cares about me. Well, look, there are many people who do not believe that God speak, certainly not in the way that you believe it or I believe it.

The book is Turning Sorrow into Joy, brand new book. Pastor Ken Christmas is the founding pastor of regeneration Nashville in Nashville, Tennessee. Pastor Ken, we were just talking about God speaking. And there are people, I've had a number of prophetic voices on this program. I've had my friend Ken Fish on the program many times talking about healing and deliverance. There are people, Christians, who get very confused by that. They just don't get it or they out and out reject it. I've had people, wonderful people, say, I will not come on your show because you have folks like that on your show.

And I thought there's such confusion among people. When did you begin to move in what we call the prophetic? Was that from the beginning from an early age? No, I was in ministry for over 15 years, and I don't know how much time we have, but I feel like I need to share this with you. Before I ever began to move prophetically, I had went through this really bad divorce. My wife had left me for another man, and I had just gotten married. And I was asleep one night, and it was the first time that ever happened to me, because I'd never been raised. around the prophetic, and I had a vision, and in it I saw the people of God. It was in Bible times,

and they were in fields working, and there was just tears running down their face because intermingled among them were just demonic beings with pitchforks and spears and swords, and they were wounding God's people, and the people were crying because they had no way to extricate themselves. And in the middle of that, I began to hear a voice and I looked up and down the long road coming to the city was an old man with a beard. I would have called what he looked like, Elijah. And as he got closer, I heard him say, the line of Judah showed roar again today. That's all he kept saying. And when he got in the heart of the city, I watched the spirit of intimidation and fear that was on the people of God

lift up off with them and the spirit of boldness that was on the demonic beings go up and it switched and it came back down and the boldness hit the people of God and fear hit these demonic beings

and I saw demons begin to run for their lives and drop their weapons and the people of God picked them up and begin to destroy them and I felt like last year the Lord spoke to me he said this is a season where God is going to turn things around prophetically. And so my prophetic happened, I started when I was 35 years old.

I had not preached for a year. I was so broken through the divorce and had no unction. And the very first time that I ever went back to speak, kind of like the return, I couldn't get anything from the Lord, stepped under the platform, thought, I don't know what I'm going to do. and the spirit of prophecy came on me. And I probably prophesied for 45 minutes. And from that moment on, that gifting came.

Now, I will say that I think a lot of people are very shy of the prophetic because it's really been abused over the last few years. Been a lot of goofy stuff. But it still doesn't discount the authenticity of it. And I'm with you. I believe with all of my heart, the Lord spoke this to me. he said at the end of 2024, it's going to get dark in this nation. And it wasn't until a few months ago I felt like I understood that. I thought, well, Lord, you know, you're coming back. Is it the church in trouble? And the Lord began to speak to me. He said, no, it's going to get dark for the wicked.

And we got one more window when God supernaturally is going to do something in this nation. And he's going to turn things around. The wicked are going to be defeated. And the last great harvest is going to come in by the power of the Lord. And so this is why there's such an attack right now. The enemy knows that he has but a short time. He's come down in great wrath. But I'm with you. God is going to intervene.

And we're going to see God do some amazing things. I mean, I believe that. And part of the reason I believe it is because the tiny handful of prophetic voices that I trust, that they're not blowing smoke, they're not just, you know, trying to get more social media followers. that they have been saying what you just said. And I sense it in my spirit that we're not, God's not done with America. His hand is on President Trump. And we are in a war.

And so in a war, you have casualties. You suffer, you struggle. But if you fight and you pray and you look to the Lord in the middle of it, he can carry us through. And I believe he will carry us through. But we're in a war. We're in a battle. And, you know, you just said a lot of people abuse the people.

prophetic and they're very sloppy. And it brings, it brings disrepute to the prophetic and worse than that to the Lord, because there are people who tune out and all they can do is mock. They don't understand it. So you have a sense from

the Lord, I believe you just said that, that we are going to have revival, we're going to have reformation, that we have hope in America, in a nutshell. And it's going to be in a season of peace. I really believe that just as the enemy tried to muzzle the church of the coronavirus, that God is going to

muzzle the mouth of the wicked for his season. And as difficult as it's been is how easy it's going to be for the body of Christ. That's an amazing statement, because it has been very difficult. And we have seen demonic stuff like we've never seen in our lifetimes. In the last few years, we've never seen anything like this. But I always say it's Romans 828. The Lord has allowed this for his purposes, that we're going to see glorious things come out of this ugly stuff, and that we've had, in a sense, without all the evil that's happened, we wouldn't be fighting against it. We would not be, you know, we're having the uncovering of all of this corruption.

Because I think that, again, when you look at the prophetic over the years, a lot of it's confusing. A lot of it. It's just, it's funny, because as somebody who knows that God speaks and who believes in the prophetic, there are times I'm just mystified. by people they say stuff and then they say different stuff. And you could understand why people would tune out. You can. And, you know, for me, I have a real strong relationship with the Holy Ghost or the Holy Spirit. And he is a person.

He's not an experience. So I have a relationship with the Holy Spirit. And I know him well. And I know when he's speaking to me. And I really try to be careful on what. what comes out of my mouth. And, you know, for some reason, he always will put me on the spot. I remember when the Lord began to speak prophetically and told him he was going to shut down

sports and shut down theaters. And I prophesied that. And people thought I was crazy. And then God did it. So this was before, he spoke this before the COVID thing. Oh, yeah. Yeah. It's on the internet.

Yeah. I think it was in 2000. And the last night of 2019, I did a service at Rock Church in Virginia Beach. And I had a lot of people call me and said, brother, I've always believed me, but I think you really miss it this time. And then God brought it to pass. And so what we're getting ready to see is going to be so far out of the scope of human ability. This thing, we have messed up in thinking that we can deal with this in a natural level.

This is a spirit battle. And Eric, I believe that God has been waiting. He's got the Gideon army that he's raising up. And I really believe it's going to be a small group of voices that really marshal the body of Christ that have had relationship that God can trust, that are not motivated by money or ego or fame, they're not looking to build their own kingdom at the expense of Christ. I don't want to use God. I want God to use me.

That's a heavy statement. That's worth writing down. I don't want to use God. I want God to use me. Has the Lord spoken specifically, I mean, when you, when you mentioned that specific thing, that sports stadiums are going to be shut down, that kind of thing? That's a real specific kind of thing. And it came to pass. Has the Lord spoken anything specific about what's going to come this year about the election? I'm always curious. And if he hasn't, you know, that's fine. But I'm just curious. Yeah, you know, every election until this one, God has always told me who's going to win. And in 2016, when Trump became president, I remember prophesying that, and boy, people really told me I was crazy, but I knew it heard from the Lord. This is the first time that God is not telling me who's going to win this election. and I personally think that Donald Trump will. I think that's why there's such an attack against him.

But I believe the church made the mistake of putting their trust in a man and not in God. And whether Donald Trump is president or not, God's still going to turn out and defend the people of the Lord. I want Donald Trump to win, but I can't go unrecogn prophetically this time say, yes, the Lord spoke to me that Donald Trump's going to win. the election. I believe that God is set in his stage for it. I think if he was never going to be, there never would have been the attack against him with the trial and all of that. And we need some leaders that are friends to the church that will at least give us the autonomy to be who we are. Well, there's no doubt about that. But you did say the Lord spoke to you that the end of this

year would be dark. He didn't say that. Yes. And I felt, you know, when the Lord began to speak to me, he said, I'm going to begin to give at the end of 2024. He said, thanks, you're going to get very dark. And I was seeking the Lord the last few weeks. And I felt like that's when the Lord spoke to me. He said, not for the people of the Lord. You said, this is going to be like, The children of Israel in Egypt, God turned the lights off in Egypt and left them on in Goshen. And there's a whole lot of reaping that needs to take place for some ungodly men. God loves sinners, but he's not really excited about wicked people that'll walk in rebellion. And I think that's the difference.

The harvest is the sinners and the darkness and the judgment is all of these people who knew what they were doing, did it behind closed doors, and have tried to impede what God wants to do. do in the earth. And so I, the Lord spoke this to me. He said, there's going to be a wave of death that begins to come. And you're going to begin to see wicked leaders begin to die. And I don't know what all that entails, but I can tell you this, just as he did it in Egypt with the firstborn, the wicked are not going to get away with this. And God is going to fulfill his purpose. And I think God's going to step in and do some things that they can't circumvent. Well, you have to wonder what God's going to do to bring about revival.

In other words, I think that there are many Christians forget that the same God who parted the Red Sea and brought the plagues on Egypt, that that God is still God. I think that they feel like, no, no, no, we've aged out of that or we've evolved past that. No, I don't think we have. And I think that that's what will take people's breath away, is. to see God do anything. They're going to, you know, it's going to stagger people. And so we don't know what that is, but that's just so interesting to me that you would put it that way.

It gives me hope. It gives me hope because I think it's been hard for so many people to watch what's going on. It's obviously demonic. I don't like to throw that term around. I don't know. Most people who are not even Christians look around and they say, what's happening, it looks like evil. It doesn't just look like bad policies. It looks evil.

And so I'm just encouraged to hear you say. We're at a time. I just want to say congratulations on the book, turning sorrow into joy. Obviously, that book, folks, is for everybody because a lot of us have experienced a lot of sorrow. Some people have experienced particular sorrow. And you need the kind of faith that Pastor Kent Christmas has by God's grace to give you hope. Pastor Ken Christmas, thank you for being my guest, and I look forward to talking to you again soon.
