Now please welcome the guy who's half as plump as Santa and twice as jolly. Eric Matt Taxi! Folks, I am at Am Fest. You never know into whom you will run or whom you will run into.
Starting point is 00:00:57 It's just an amazing thing. I just bumped into, she says she's married to Kevin Sorbo. A lot of women claim that. They're crazy. But in this case, it's true. It's Sam Sorbo. Sam, my friend, welcome back. It's so lovely to see you here.
Starting point is 00:01:12 And one of your children, who looks a lot like your husband, who's a big guy, is it Braden? Braden. Braden, welcome. Thank you for having me. And how old are you, Braden? 22. How long have you been 22? A couple months.
Starting point is 00:01:27 A couple of months. So you're just getting the hang of it. He'll just give it the rest of the year. He's just a kid. I'll give it the rest of the year. And how many kids, Sam, do you and Kevin have? So he's the oldest? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:01:37 And he's up there, right up there with my favorite. I'm like the favorite oldest child. The other two are the favorites. That's beautiful. Well, was it really toxic growing up in the showbiz family? Was there a lot of drugs? You know, I just kind of got locked in the basement. I was homeschooled most of my life.
Starting point is 00:01:54 So if I was good behavior, you know, I could be let out once or twice a week. But other than that, I didn't see much. You bring up homeschooling. Obviously, people who have listened to this program know that what a huge fan I am of homeschooling. And I always reference you, Sam Sorbo, because you are, you know, the queen of the homeschooling movement. And it's, it thrills me. It gives me hope for America. When I meet kids that are homeschooled, they almost always seem mature, poised.
Starting point is 00:02:23 It's like a whole different class of young person. It's amazing. And then you meet me. And then I met you and you blew it all to Smith. No, seriously, like I push him in front of him. I'm like, meet my son. Yeah. He will convince you to homeschool.
Starting point is 00:02:36 And I didn't even do it right. I say to people, I didn't do it right. I did it the best I could. I was a guinea pig. Now, he was. And now I counsel parents and I coach and I, you know, speak and right to try to get parents to take their kids out of the system. Because it's a system of slavery that our schools teach, right? And so if you take your kids out of that, the thing is, you know, a lot of them say, well, what about socialization?
Starting point is 00:03:03 Well, what about socialization? I mean, look at this. This kid has 2 million followers on all of his social media platforms. He's like the most social guy you'll ever meet. Two million followers. And the reason that he is so adept. You probably don't know any real people. Just kidding.
Starting point is 00:03:19 No, but so seriously, though. The reason he's so abducted is because he socialized with adults because that's how you learn social skills. Thank you. Whenever I hear that satanic lie, that homeschool kids, oh, they need socialization. It's like saying, you know, your kid needs to go to prison. He needs to deal with the real world. Like, no, no, that's stupid. That's a good one.
Starting point is 00:03:39 That is wrong. It's like he needs to go to prison to understand the real world of crime and deviant behavior. Otherwise, you're sheltering him. No. Very good. That's a lie from the pit of hell. Thank you. And I honestly know that over the years, meeting homeschool kids, they are the most socially mature of any young people.
Starting point is 00:04:02 That's a fact. I mean, I can speak from experience. I've seen it over and over and over again. Now, what are the statistics? Aren't there a lot of people because of COVID? A lot more people are homeschooling than used to do it? Yeah, it's recently about doubled, which is amazing. Isn't that amazing?
Starting point is 00:04:17 The problem is that our education system has trained us to think of education as academics. Now they've changed it. They've made it doctrine, and we're saying, hey, get back to the academics. But education really is doctrine. You should be instilling your doctrine into your church. children. And of course, that's what the Bible wants you to do. That's what the Bible said. The Bible never says, go find a good school for your kids. And so really the most important thing you can do is read the Bible with your kids. And that's, I ended up doing that with my kids,
Starting point is 00:04:46 and they are all fervent in the Bible. And that's because they figured out. The Bible is basically the guidebook, the key, it's the cheat sheet. The cheat sheet. You tell someone how their life together if their Bible's falling apart. The cliff notes of life is the Bible. Yeah, well, look, it's simply true. Everything good, you know, comes out of the Bible. I mean, we know, I wrote in my book is Atheism Dead about how modern science was created not just by Christians, but it makes sense that it was created by Christians because only Christians have the values that would lead to what we now call science. Think of the irony. We now live in a world that pretends like science is at odds with faith. Not only is science not at odds with faith at all, but it was people
Starting point is 00:05:32 of faith who created science. Science is the search for God. Yeah. Science is a search for God. I mean, there's no doubt about it. And children are created curious. And so that curiosity, I think, is God's instilling in them a search for him. There's just no doubt. There's no doubt about it.
Starting point is 00:05:51 And it's funny, too, because we really, you know, people say, we took God out of the schools. Well, that's been going on for a long, long time going all the way back to Dewey. You know this. That when you secularize something, you basically kill it. You know, it's like telling the curiosity of children. Children are curious. They want to learn.
Starting point is 00:06:07 Schools tell them, sit down, shut up, pay attention. Boys are not meant to be sitting in a classroom eight hours a day. Being taught that if you want to learn, you have to raise your hand. You can't even ask questions freely. You have to say, hey, can I please learn now? That's how schools work. Boys need to be running around learning from the real world. Why is the sky blue?
Starting point is 00:06:21 Why are the clouds white? Why are the clouds fluffy? Why is the grass green? They need to be experiencing the real world. Not, you know, prison so that they understand how crime works, but the good real world. Well, it is fascinating because that's a, that's, That brings up a whole other issue. I mean, we're not talking about what you learn or don't learn in schools, but the way you learn in schools.
Starting point is 00:06:40 And Sam, you're the one that's brought this to my attention originally. But, you know, we adopted this model of, you know, we're supposed to sit at desks and the teachers in the front or whatever. And look, that's not inherently evil. But the point is, it doesn't, well, I would simply say that it worked fine for me, but it really doesn't work fine for a lot of people. Right. And the fact of the matter is that where is it written that it has to be done that way? Where do we get that idea? And a lot of the bad ideas, we just kind of go along with what we've been told.
Starting point is 00:07:11 Well, we've been indoctrinated, right? Because we sat in desks at school, and that's how we've learned or didn't learn. Right. It's a funny thing. Yeah. It is a funny thing. Well, I mean, look, most of what I learned in life, I learned after college. And if you talk to anybody, do you do what you went to school for?
Starting point is 00:07:28 Most people 90% are like, nope, that's not what I do now. So then why did you go to school? That was a distraction. Yeah. Speaking of distractions, our film, Miracle in East Texas, is available on DVD. Okay, what is the story of Miracle in East Texas? And he's in it, actually. I'm in it.
Starting point is 00:07:46 I got to work with Lou Gosset Jr. who won an Academy Award for an Officer and a Gentleman, so that was pretty nerve-wracking. Can I tell you something? I didn't get a role in the film and I'm bitter. We tried. It was not without trying. No, no, I know. But I know I'll be in one of your films eventually.
Starting point is 00:08:01 Oh, yeah. It'll happen. And I think that... As I recall, I'm not in your film, though. What film? What film? What film? The letter to the American church. Okay, that was not my doing.
Starting point is 00:08:12 I fought for you. They presented me with the facts, and I said, you know what? Man, you guys are right. She's messed up. We don't want her in this film. No, seriously, tell us about the... What's the plot of Miracle? Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:08:23 Sorbos Studios.com, and the plot of Miracle in East Texas. It's a comedy based on the true story of the East Texas Oil Strike, but it is a comedy. It's very light and airy. It's a family-friendly film. It stars my husband, John Ratsenberg. No, potty mouth stuff. No potty mouth.
Starting point is 00:08:39 But Red Fox is not in the film? He's not in the film. But John Ratsenberger is. And Tyler Mane. Tyler Mane. This kid, my husband. I don't know who Tyler Mane is. Who's Tyler Mane?
Starting point is 00:08:50 He's a former WWE superstar who was also a saber-tooth in the X-Men series. Oh. He's a big guy. He's like 6-8, 6-9. Now I know who you've got to 6-9. Yeah. Okay, so wow. You got a lot of people.
Starting point is 00:09:00 Yes. Now is... And it's a lot of fun. Is your husband in this film? He's in it. Kevin Sorbo is in the film. Some of his best work. Well, that's pretty cool.
Starting point is 00:09:09 Kevin Sorbo's in the film. That should be enough for you. Just go to Sorbo Studios. And do sign up for our newsletter because we send out emails and that's really the best way to stay in touch and find out what's happening. Okay, so and if people are interested in homeschooling, where should they go? Sorbo Studios. Same. Sorbo Studios.com.

Starting point is 00:09:39 You didn't have a lot of time to talk about it, but I did. The BS Guide to Politics by Braden Sorbo? Brandon Tatum did the forward, Andrew Claven, D.C. Drano, Governor Huckabee, Mike Lindell, all gave great endorsements. Holy guacamole. Why did you endorse the book? The BS Guide, because I haven't read it, the BS Guide to Politics, understanding in current events through sarcasm. Braden, I knew I liked you.
Starting point is 00:10:00 Now I, you know, now I have reasons to like you. I like your whole family. Sorbos Studios.com. Yes. Okay. Well, thanks for visiting. Thank you so much. Folks, right now in other parts of the world, people's lives are being threatened

The Boys in the Boat opens Christmas Day in theaters only get tickets now. Boys in the Boatmovie.com. Boys in the Boatmovie. Hey folks, I'm at Amfest with a friend of mine, Barry McGuire. Barry, what are you doing here?
Starting point is 00:12:33 Do you live around here? I wonder. I think you live around here. Actually, I do, yeah. I know you do. In fact, you've stayed with me, so you've been doing our house. is that you, listen, you, I have never been a car guy, but you are a car guy. You are the car guy.
Starting point is 00:12:49 Well, yeah. A lot of people know you from the car world, if they know how to spell your name, McGuire, Barry McGuire. And you're home where I've been a number of times, you have, it's like a car museum. I have never seen anything like it, and it makes me. You're turning into a car guy. You're getting into cars. You have, listen. The time you come, you get a little more.
Starting point is 00:13:11 Your family, you know. You have a history with God. Your family. Yeah, for generation. In 1901. Tell that story. My grandfather was inspired by God to start our business in 1901. And now we're the number one selling car wax in America.
Starting point is 00:13:30 But that happened when God spoke to the bathroom. After I got out of college, he said, more than buffing on a car is, won't you go retail. I didn't know anything about retail. And so I said, God. I'm going to hold on my scripture, trust it over my whole heart, and don't depend on my own understanding. I don't have any understanding, so it's really easy to me. I just got to trust you. But you felt that God, I mean, I just want my audience to understand.
Starting point is 00:13:53 Your grandfather started this company in 1901. Yeah, and it was buffing cars. And it was basically a car wax company, and it was to the industry. Actually, and then suddenly it's... You remember this. There weren't a lot of cars in 1901. He started with the furniture parts. So this was for horseless carriages?
Starting point is 00:14:12 Yeah, well, he started with a furniture polish. Okay. And he was obsessed with creating a perfect finish on black, lacquer furniture. Over half the horses carriage manufacturers were in Indiana where he was, and without his permission, they started taking his furniture polish and putting on the black, lacquer horses carriages. See, no, I hadn't heard this. We hadn't even, he didn't even do it. God took us.
Starting point is 00:14:36 And then he moved into California where the car hobby started. into World War II. And so everybody in the car show world started using our problem. And so you, as a young man, feel that God tells you to take this into the retail market. And I know you want to spend time talking about your book, so let's not get into this too much. But the point is that God led you to create an even more successful business. You've become just one of the key figures in the car industry. In America, you've got these beautiful cars at your home.
Starting point is 00:15:12 But your passion is reaching people with the message of Jesus, and I have been with you in restaurants where you're talking to the waiters. But I mean, but it's a beautiful thing. And so that is, you have a book out called Ignite Your Life, Defeat Fear with Effortless Faith. You live this. I've seen you live this. So talk about that. Well, you do it a lot, too.
Starting point is 00:15:34 It is automatic. I mean, it's in your nature. But you love the Lord. You're going to talk about the Lord. When I launched in 1973 to retail, that very same year, I was questioning if I should go into full-time ministry because I was sharing my faith a lot and having great success. And so I prayed the most fervent prayer of my life one day. I said, God, if you want me to leave my business, I will.
Starting point is 00:15:55 I didn't want you. It's my family business. But I just want to do what God wanted me to do. So I said, God, you almost have to speak to me an audible voice. Whatever you want me to do, I just want to serve you. I just want to be close to you. not 20 minutes later, and I said you almost had to speak to me in an audible voice, you know. That's what I said.
Starting point is 00:16:14 Yeah, I didn't say you had to, but you're almost after. Almost, yeah, needs to be super clear. Yeah, not 20 minutes later, a guy walked in my office that I really didn't know from church. I knew him from church, missionary kid, my age, and he stopped in and said, I was just in there, if I stopped by and see how's it going. And I thought, well, missionary kid, he's not into carwax. So I started telling him my experience is sharing my faith all over the place. And he turns to me and he says, God's given you a wonderful ministry here, hadn't he?
Starting point is 00:16:43 Okay. And so I said, wait. That was, that was an audible voice. Why would you say that? God has given you a wonderful. So in the answer to my prayer. In the context of your business, this guy says God has given you a wonderful ministry here, hasn't he? And so it suddenly dawns on you.
Starting point is 00:17:00 God has just spoken to you through this man. And he puts it together, but he said it's obvious that your business is your pulpit, not in a job. not your God. It's your pulpit. And at that point, I realize he meant that everything I'm doing in my business is ministry. There is no separation. All of us are in full-time ministry. Isn't it interesting how so many people have this idea that in order to do ministry,
Starting point is 00:17:25 I need to get out of whatever else. I was just talking to somebody else about William Wolverford. Wolverford goes to visit his old friend John Newton, who wrote to him Amazing Grace, this great man of God, basically to say to him, okay, now I've accepted Jesus. Don't I need to get out of politics? And what does John Newton say? No.
Starting point is 00:17:43 Stay in politics. Bring God into the political sphere. And that's the message to a lot of people. Bring God to wherever you are. Are you in politics? Are you in the car wax business? Wherever you are, bring God into that. Recognize, folks.
Starting point is 00:17:58 Use it. That's your pulpit. You're surrounded wherever you're at, you're surrounded by people who are lost. God's put you there. And what you need to do, and our motto is move everybody every day. closer to Jesus. Everybody, not one a day. We're surrounded by people. They're all around us. They're lost. They're going to hell.
Starting point is 00:18:14 They're lost. And they don't go to church. They're only hope. They're only hope for America. And you and I have talked about this a lot. But we can only do so much in Washington, but the river zone is we turn her back on God. I hear you talk about it all the time. We're in soulmates on this. And the
Starting point is 00:18:30 loss, now are like 90% of America. Their eyes are blinded. They see evil is good and good is evil. That's why all this bizarre stuff going on, that murdering babies is good and opening our borders is good. They actually see that. Yes.
Starting point is 00:18:45 Not because they're evil, but because they're lost. Yes. And we want to shake our fists at them and get mad at the politician. They're lost. And they're going to stay lost unless somebody, unless we, let them know there really is a God who loves them and has a plan for their life. And when you do that, and guess what? It ignites your life.
Starting point is 00:19:07 Where can people find you? Because we're running at a time. Where can people find you? It's on every way you can't, everywhere you want to go. But Amazon.com is the easiest. But ignite your life. Is there a website? There is, igniteamerica.com.
Starting point is 00:19:23 Igniteamerica. That's the website that explains the whole thing. Right. Let me just boil down on two scriptures right quick. We'll be out of here. Romans 828 says, because 80% of Americans in fear, how do you get away from fear? I'll answer your, I'll direct your sense if you don't fear if you have unwavering faith. I'll answer your prayers if you don't waver.
Starting point is 00:19:43 The message says that. So how do we get to defeat fear with effortless faith? It's not about saying, God, I need faith. It's that you go on and just do what God wants you to do and love on people. When you do that, you're living for God's purpose. Romans 828, this famous scripture we know, but we don't really appreciate. He says, he really means it. I will make everything in your life work together for us.
Starting point is 00:20:06 good if you do two things. If you love me and you live for my purpose. If we live to seek and save the loss, if we get to heaven, it's not going to matter how many bottles of car wax I sold. I sell a lot of car wax. It's going to be meaningless in heaven. The only thing is going to matter in heaven is how many people are in
Starting point is 00:20:23 heaven because of our influence. There's a ton there for you and some for me. And when we do that, we live without fear because we know we live in the promise of Romans 828 that he'll make it all straight.
Starting point is 00:20:37 It's the only way to fly. It's the only way to fly. And we want to tell the world, ladies and gentlemen, imagine living in a world where everything you did worked for good, for your good and for good generally, even the stuff you screw up, even the mistakes, even the tragedies, works together for good. Imagine living in that world. And the Bible says if you love God and are called according to his purposes, if you're doing his will. His purpose is one purpose. Yes.
Starting point is 00:21:03 If you are living for him and you say, say, Lord, use me, and you want to be used by him, suddenly God can make the worst things in your life woven together into something beautiful. And I think a lot of people who are, they say I'm a Christian, they're not living that way and they don't even know that that's true. It's so beautiful. It is so true. And the most common thing we hear from people, they line up and talk to us, you made it so easy. You've changed my life. I didn't realize so many people needed it, how easy it is to share by faith. It gives you joy. Every time you do that, every time you do that, it feeds to you. Last scripture, Isaiah 4310, he tells us why to share your faith. He says, I point you as my witness
Starting point is 00:21:48 so that you will believe, not them, you, because when we share our faith without preparation, we're deciding, we're just relying on the Holy Spirit. Luke 12, 12, I'll give you the words to say, you feel the Holy Spirit speaking through you. I will give you the words to say. Luke 12, 12, look it up. And he'll give you the words and say, you don't prepare for anything. You just love one people. They'll quickly tell you their need. And then God will give you the scripture and the life changes. There's nothing like it in the human experience like that.
Starting point is 00:22:20 And then your faith is solid. It's the only way to fly, a Barry McGuire, car guy, Jesus guy. The book is, Ignite Your Life. And the website is Ignite America. Yeah, Ignite America. They'll find that offer here. Just go to Amazon.com and get the book. Ignite your life.
Starting point is 00:22:41 It's the only way to live. If you love cars and you're interested in this cuckie Jesus thing, get a copy of Ignite Your Life. Barry, God bless you. You're awesome. Listening once again. With candy canes and silver lanes are glow. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.

As you know, every year at this time, we reach out to you to raise funds to free slaves,
Starting point is 00:25:35 actual people who are enslaved in Africa. This is a real thing. And the best news is we can do something about it. I cannot think of a greater Christmas gift than to tell somebody. in your name, I freed a slave. My guest right now to talk about that is our friend Kevin McCullough, who's had a lot of experience with CSI. Kevin, tell my listeners about this.
Starting point is 00:26:03 Well, you know, just to put it into some perspective that might be drawn from current events, the slaves that we're talking about in Sudan were taken as hostages from naked invasions that nobody saw coming and most everyone were taken by surprise. And that sounds very similar to what happened when Hamas invaded Israel not long ago.
Starting point is 00:26:24 And it was a similar thought. There were Arab Islamic jihadis that came from northern Sudan in that region during their civil war, raided towns, raped women, took children away from their families, took them as hostages, took them back to the north where they lived, were unmercifully cruel to them. them repeatedly sexually assaulted them, had them do some of the things that they did to the Israeli women.
Starting point is 00:26:55 They cut out their genitals. They did other things to these children and to these women that were just heinous and obscene. And as the war was going on between the north and the south in Sudan when it was one country, the world didn't get too involved. They didn't get their hands too messy with any of that. But when they came to the conclusion that that war was going to be, it was going to last forever if we didn't step in. They created two different countries, Sudan and South Sudan,
Starting point is 00:27:22 and they gave the Christians their liberty in South Sudan and said, you are free in northern Sudan, you get to be the Arab sinkhole that you are. And what they've done in the meantime is ignored. At the time, nearly 185,000 spoils of war by way of human slaves that had been taken. So if you saw that footage of those girls being taken hostage by Hamas, these are the people that had the same ideology, the same mentality in their mind when they took these young ladies from South Sudan. Now, that was at the end of the Civil War in Sudan. What has happened since then is that Christian Solidarity International, working with specifically the Christian community here in America, we have seen the liberation of more than 135,000 of those original 185,000 slaves. And we are starting, this is exciting, Eric, for the first time to start also be able to retrieve some of their children that they had while in slavery and in captivity and get them released and freed as well.
Starting point is 00:28:26 But it's a very simple process. You give a gift, it's $250. That $250 basically covers what they need to live their life going forward. So once the slave is liberated, they go to the border of South Sudan where a CSI kind of camp is at where they can receive medical care, psychological counseling, any types of nutritional boosting and stuff that they need. They get intensive recovery time in this camp. Then when they are able to travel, they are given what's called the bag of hope. And Ag of Hope includes everything they need to start their life over again. And that's the bulk of what your gift is for $250.
Starting point is 00:29:05 In that bag, you get food for a year. And it doesn't all fit in the bag, by the way. You get food for a year. You get seed for another year. You get tarps and utensils and things that you need to help make a life for yourself. And kind of the last thing they give you before you shove off to go back to your home area is they bring out a little kid goat on a rope. And you get to take a little kid goat with you that's going to grow up and give you milk and cheese. It will provide more goats that you can sell as a micro-enterprice business for yourself.
Starting point is 00:29:34 And we've now seen that happen in more than 125,000 cases of those slaves being released. And due to, in large measure, the Eric Metaxis audience in recent years, even thousands more have been liberated. That's what happens with your $250. It is the work of bringing the slaves home, the hostages home. They're bringing them across the border and saying, we're going to give you new life. And if you thought that the prodigal son narrative in the New Testament is amazing, you should be in these towns when some of these slaves return home. They literally throw a party for a week to honor the homecoming of a slave that had been taken captive, that had their lives ruined in many ways. But now they're home and now the community is back together again and they celebrate like there's no tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:30:25 So the sadness that they feel on one level is so deep and so despair. but the joy of being reunited with their family is equally compelling and celebratory. And that's what you make happen when you give that gift to CSI. Folks, you need to go to metaxis talk.com. You'll see the banner right at the top. And this is something I want to exhort everyone to do for Christmas. This is just an absolutely unmitigated good thing. There is nothing about this that is other than glorious.
Starting point is 00:30:57 this is so beautiful that out of the goodness of our hearts and out of our own treasure, because we are so blessed in this country, we get to give to do something, the literal freeing of slaves, setting them up in a life of freedom. I always say that it's hard for me to believe that this kind of evil is happening. But then when I see it, it's unbearable until I realize, oh, God has opened a door that we can do something about this. Folks, I don't know how you wouldn't want to do something about this. This is just a heavenly, heavenly opportunity.
Starting point is 00:31:35 Metaxistalk.com is our radio website at the top of the page. You'll see the banner. Whatever you give, whatever you give goes to this. Kevin just said $250 is the amount they're looking for that does everything to free someone and to set them up and so on and so forth. You can give $1,000, you can give $10,000. you can give $100 whatever it is you can do. But we just want everyone this Christmas to do this, to do it now, folks.
Starting point is 00:32:04 We'd appreciate that. Metaxus talk.com. Kevin McCullough, thank you. Thank you, Eric. Tell me why Relief Factor is so successful at lowering or eliminating pain. I'm often asked that question just the other night. I was asked that question, well, the owners of Relief Factor tell me they believe our bodies were designed to heal.
Starting point is 00:32:23 That's right, designed to heal. And I agree with them. The doctors who formulated relief factor for them selected the four best ingredients, yes, 100% drug-free ingredients, and each one of them helps your body deal with inflammation. Each of the four ingredients deals with inflammation from a different metabolic pathway. That's the point. So approaching from four different angles may be why so many people find such wonderful relief. If you've got back pain, shoulder, neck, hip, knee, or foot pain from exercise, they're

Starting point is 00:34:04 Again, use code Eric and save mypillow.com. Use code Eric. Hey there, folks. At this joyous time of year, we bring you loads of Christmas cheer. That's a quote from Bugs Bunny, one of my favorite characters. but I got to tell you, Christmas cheer. What does that even mean? It means a lot of things. One of the things it means to me, every year on this program, we get to participate in it's the very meaning of Christmas.
Starting point is 00:34:49 It is so beautiful. I don't know what angle to hit it from. I will just start right at the middle. Jesus came to set the captives free. You've heard of that. CSI, Christian Solidarity International. We partner with them every year at this time. in this Christmas season to set literal captives free, to literally set them free.
Starting point is 00:35:12 We're not talking about metaphorically, although, of course, that's a part of it. But in this case, it's literal. There are captives in Sudan. We have talked about it on the program before. They are literally enslaved, not sort of enslaved, literally enslaved. It's horrifying. But CSI has been at work for years and years working, figuring out how to free them. This is modern day abolition.
Starting point is 00:35:39 This is wiping out slavery in a part of the world where it exists right now today. If you love Jesus, if you love other people, this is something you can do at this time of year. And I often say to people, why don't you do this in somebody's name? Say, hey, grandpa, in your name, you didn't need another sweater. In your name, we freed a slave. We freed a captive. $250 is the total price. if you can give that to free a person to set them up in a life of freedom.
Starting point is 00:36:09 I have CSI's Todd Chapman on with me right now. Todd, welcome back. Thanks, Eric. Always good to be here with you. Yeah, it's exciting to me that we get to actually do this. And I want my audience to be excited that you get to live out your faith in a way that it's rarely so clear, so simple, so obvious, that by giving a certain amount of money, you're contributing to actually free people from,
Starting point is 00:36:34 slavery. Give us the background. You said that it was it in the 90s that there was this war in Sudan? Yeah. So it actually started in 1983 and basically what happened was the Islamic, you know, reigning government, if you will, basically said to Sudanese Christians, you don't have a right to, you know, religious freedom anymore. You can't be a Christian. And then they partnered with Arab-backed militia. and turned them loose to go on raiding parties. And anybody that they encountered who didn't convert to Islam, they were allowed to take them captive.
Starting point is 00:37:13 And so what they did, these are a South Sudanese residence, many of them Christians, and they said, I'm not converting. They took them to North Sudan, and they became indentured slaves to primarily cattle ranchers up in that country. And they have remained there to this day, many of them. I mean, now tens of thousands have been set free, thanks to generous Christians, many of which Eric Metaxus listeners were so grateful for that. But there are still thousands and thousands of men, women, and now grown, but they were children when they were abducted, who are still in slavery.
Starting point is 00:37:44 They've had children in slavery. So we've got now multi-generations of slaves, and we're working every year to set them free. What we do is we have slave retrievers is what we call them. They go and they negotiate with these cattle ranchers who have slaves. And we're able to exchange cattle vaccines. that they need. They can't get them very easily. They can't afford to buy them. And we negotiate the slave's freedom. So there's no cash exchanging hands. There's no chance that we're going to somehow encourage them to go take more slaves. That's actually outlawed now. They can't go take more slaves.
Starting point is 00:38:16 We're just trying to free the ones that remain. And every year, we have three or four slave liberations. We go up and retrieve as many as we can and we bring them back to South Sudan. There's a big party when we get them down. We celebrate their freedom. And where we can, we get them reunited with their family. Many times they haven't seen their family, their parents, you know, their extended family in decades. And we reunite them. If we can find them, we get them anchored in a church, in a faith community, and they get skills training, whatever they need to get them on a path to a new life. It is, as you said, Eric, it's a picture of the gospel. This is the gospel. And I echo what you said. This is something that every Christian needs to be involved with because it's so simple. It's not
Starting point is 00:38:58 expensive, $250. I mean, so many of us are so blessed that $250 will not appreciably change our quality or standard of life at all, especially, you know, if you did that once a year, we can all afford to do that. Maybe you can do much more than that. But man, just celebrate that God is bringing you again this opportunity to rescue a human being from slavery. And we thank you for even considering it. It's, it's, it's, it's an unbelievable thing. And I want to say, folks, uh, $250 is the amount that does it, right? So that not just frees the slave from slavery, but even more, and this is the larger part of the $250,
Starting point is 00:39:38 sets them up in a life of freedom. We've talked about it on the program before. They get what CSI calls a bag of hope. They get all this stuff that enables them to go into a life of freedom. It's not like you're just set out on the street, like, okay, you're free now. Now you have to figure out how do I go forward? So they literally get a goat. They get seeds to plant.
Starting point is 00:40:00 It's a whole system that CSI has worked out and everything, freeing the slave, this celebration that is put on once they're freed, and then setting them up in a life of freedom is all for $250. So you thank God for a strong U.S. dollar, that $250 of your money can do all of this. It's not $2,500. It's $250. You can do this. And I say to people, get your kids involved.
Starting point is 00:40:28 What are we doing for Christmas, Mommy? I'll tell you what we're doing. There are human beings in the world that are enslaved. Oh, I thought slavery was abolished. Well, it was abolished in the West. But there are Muslims who believe, according to their religion, that they are able, allowed to enslave people and they have done it. But we, because we're Christians, we have the ability to free these slaves. We believe in doing that. What do we get back? We get back the joy of knowing we participate in what God is doing in the world today through people who actually believe in him and who live out their faith. Faith without works is dead. This is something we get to do. I want to give you the phone number. By the way, you know where to go. Metaxistocotocot.com. Metaxistocot.com is the website. You'll see the banner right there. Metaxistock.com. Please go there. Please be generous. if you prefer to call 888-253-3522, 888-253-3522, 888-253-35-22. 888-253-35-22. Please be generous.
Starting point is 00:41:37 God bless you as you give. This is an exciting thing you could do at this time of year to make your faith real, to make Christmas come to life. Do it. God bless you. Here come Santa Claus. Here come Santa Claus right down. Santa Claus Lane. He'll come around when times ring out that it's Christmas morning again.
Starting point is 00:41:56 Peace on earth will come to all if we just follow the lie. So let's give thanks to the Lord above because Santa Claus comes tonight. Books, I'm at Amfest. You don't know who's going to wander by. I have two, how do I put it? Investigative journalists, actual investigative journalists who are doing amazing work. Would you guys introduce yourselves? Yeah, I'm James Lolino.
Starting point is 00:42:29 Christian Hartsock. So you guys have done a lot of work. We don't have a lot of time here, but just talk about some of it. Because, you know, as I was saying to you earlier, I'm friends with James O'Keefe. And when people are doing citizen journalism, you realize it's because actual journalists have abdicated journalism. They're not doing the stuff that you guys are doing, that James is doing, that other people are doing. There's something exciting about it. But you've been in it for a long time.
Starting point is 00:43:00 Christian, how long have you been doing this? Almost 15 years. In 2009, I befriended Andrew Breitbart in Los Angeles, and I unrelatedly befriended James O'Keefe. And I was part of the acorn. I shot the interstitial footage. That's amazing. This goes to the beginning that brought down acorn.
Starting point is 00:43:20 That's when you started to realize, if you're paying attention, the power of citizen journalism. That was an amazing thing. And it was a call to action. by Andrew Breitbart. Andrew Breitbart knew that the Democrat media complex, as he called it, was had a monopoly that had the potential to be broken. And he called, it was up to citizen journalists with iPhones and cameras to break that monopoly.
Starting point is 00:43:45 And he kind of ushered in the wild west of citizen journalism back in 2009, 2010. And then it was at the time, had not been institutionalized, had not been industrialized, as it is now. So it's been quite a last 10 years. And you said that you were with Andrew right before he died. Huge shock that he died so young. Do you have any insight into what in the world happened? I've never really understood. You know, it's such a horror, a tragedy, and a loss. Yeah, I was the last to see Andrew in the office the night he died. I was the second to last to leave just before him. And it was, I believe, a Thursday, and I was due in the next morning.
Starting point is 00:44:31 It was business as usual. He came in to the office around 2 p.m. that day, full of energy, fresh off the gym, fresh out of the gym. And he was just full of life. None of us expected it. But after he died, the day that he died, we realize it's on us now. It's on us to carry forth the legacy, which we did. over the next
Starting point is 00:44:57 11 years. And many, which many people are doing. Of course, Breitbart exists. We just have a few minutes left. Sure. Go ahead. Yeah, so I have a background coming from the movie industry.
Starting point is 00:45:08 I'm sorry, say your name again. James Lalino. Lalino, that sounds Italian. Very, very much so. So I got hired five years ago at Project Veritas. I came in as a green undercover journalist, hired off the street. I came from the movie industry.
Starting point is 00:45:21 I was just a kid from Long Island. and I worked my way up to be senior investigative reporter, and me and Christian ran the investigations after all the turmoil that happened this year. You know, we got some really big investigations launched State Investigation, Texas, with the gender hormone therapy, transgender surgery clinic in Austin, Texas. And then, you know, we did a lot of great stories this year. You know, we exposed a, it was a child pornography ring that we investigated with the help of a cybersecurity expert who gave us a database with 8,000 names.
Starting point is 00:45:51 We identified about 500 of them. in the real world, then we went and confronted them on camera. You know, we did some great work there. Unfortunately, obviously, we all know what happened. You know, we don't have to get into it here. But, you know, we're not done. Christian and I are not done. Citizen journalism continues.
Starting point is 00:46:07 We need more of it. Absolutely. I mean, especially since the mainstream journalism complex, whatever they are, they have abdicated. They're not telling these stories. They don't seem to care. It just blows my mind. Well, where can people find?
Starting point is 00:46:23 the two of you? Well, my ex-handle is Chris underscore Hartsock, H-A-R-T-S-O-C-K. Yeah, James Lolino on Twitter or X or social media, protomel.com, all that. And please follow our colleagues.
Starting point is 00:46:39 I'm very proud to have recruited the great Arden Young, who's working with Eric Cochran at Sound Investigations. And she's just... They're doing great. Yeah, great work. And Bobby R, Alyssa, D.N., Gavin L.S.
Starting point is 00:46:53 The work is not done, and we haven't gone anywhere. God bless you guys. Thank you, sir. Appreciate it.
