Starting point is 00:00:00 Folks, welcome to the Eric Mataxis show, sponsored by Legacy Precious Metaxus show. There's never been a better time to invest in precious metals. Visit legacy p.m.investments.com. That's legacy pm investments. com. Welcome to the Eric Metaxis show. It's the show featuring Go-Go-Go the chimp. Nothing like a chimp to liven up the radio show. Easy there. Go-go, go, go. No, go, go. Hey there, folks. It's Tuesday. It is. And I'm sitting here with, what's your name again?
Starting point is 00:00:43 My first guest? No, no, no. You're my producer, Albin. Hi. We're in Orlando. People are hearing this odd background noise. Yeah. We are doing the program at the NRB in Orlando.
Starting point is 00:00:57 Tons of people walking around. But the fun thing about being here is we get all kinds of guests in person that, you know, normally we wouldn't get to do them in person. So, for example, today's show one hour I'm talking to the great Abby Johnson
Starting point is 00:01:18 many of you know her she is a hero in the pro-life movement she was a director for many years of a planned parenthood clinic she had a horrific experience saw the light her story is told in the film unplanned so she is
Starting point is 00:01:34 my guest today sitting right here next to me also I'm talking to the guys, you can't make these guys up. Basically, Marcus Pittman and Jason Farley have started something called Lure TV. We'll tell you about it, but this gives me hope. Both of these figures that I, well, all three of them give me hope. These are heroic figures.
Starting point is 00:02:01 Lure TV is in the entertainment space. I'm very excited about that. Excited to talk to them. Excited to talk to Abby Johnson all week long. We've got all kinds of guests. But, Albin, we've got to mention a few things before. I've got a crazy story. I don't know if I'll get to tell it today about what happened to me in New York Cab the other day.
Starting point is 00:02:22 I'm not going to get to talk really about the passing of Tim Keller just because we don't have the time. But both you and I went to Redeemer. Yeah. I met my wife and there. Benefited from his ministry. and I ended up, you know, at the end of his life, disagreeing with him sort of politically and, you know, but always loved and respected him. But I did disagree with him, but respectfully disagree with him. And I wrote about it in my book, Letter to the American Church.
Starting point is 00:02:57 But just shocking when you hear that someone that you've, you know, known for so many years, like as a fixture, is suddenly. Yeah, very sad. suddenly gone. I guess I want to mention I've got a crazy New York story, but before we get to that, we should mention that this
Starting point is 00:03:19 month, so this month is coming to a close, but this month we're doing a very, very, very important campaign with CSI, Christian Solidarity International. Many of you know what that is, and I'm here to tell you that we are grateful
Starting point is 00:03:37 to every one of you who goes to our website Metaxistalk.com and participates with us. Why? Because Christian Solidarity International sounds like we're making this up. They are freeing slaves in the Sudan. Hard for us to believe,
Starting point is 00:03:55 but in Africa there are people enslaved. Of course, these are you know, Sudanese, usually Sudanese radical Muslims who have enslaved Christians, and this has been going on for a long time. We ask you if you can to participate.
Starting point is 00:04:17 In fact, we don't tell you how much. $250 is the amount that frees a slave and sets them up in a life of freedom. So we want to encourage everybody to participate. But I want to particularly encourage those of you who cannot give $250. not to say, well, because I can't give that, I'm going to skip this. This is an amazing opportunity. It's rare that evil is as naked as it is. The idea that we have actual slaves, we've talked about it on this program in the past with guests,
Starting point is 00:04:54 but it's a horrific reality that they're living with. But the good news is you can do something about it. This is not one of those things like, well, there's nothing I can do but pray. No, you can do something about it. Any penny that you give goes toward freeing slaves in the Sudan and bringing them into a life of freedoms, setting them up in a life of freedom. So it's an exciting opportunity, and I want to encourage people, if it's possible for you to participate, please, folks.
Starting point is 00:05:25 I want everyone to participate, and it does not matter how much. It does not matter. Go to Metaxistock.com. You can give $5 a month. You can give $5 one time. The point is it's for such a good cause that I feel driven to exhort you to please don't let this slip past you. And the banner is right at the very top of the page of atatastock.com. You don't have to scroll up.
Starting point is 00:05:51 It's right there. It's the first thing you see. It's the first thing you see it. Click on it. Click on it. Give whatever you can, folks. Please do that just because, you know, it's rare that you find an organization. like CSI that you can depend on them utterly. They're not some big bureaucracy where you're kind of
Starting point is 00:06:04 wondering what they're doing with their money. So I just want to say it's a beautiful opportunity. It's a privilege that we get to do something about this. You get to live out your faith in a very, very tangible way. So please go to metaxis talk.com. Don't forget to do that. We will be talking to the folks from LOR TV later. I mentioned that. But we're very, We're very interested on this program in media, in films, in TV programs that you can see that will help you, that will either entertain you in a wonderful way or that will teach you something. There's a documentary out right now called The Real Anthony Fauci. It's a film. There was a book.
Starting point is 00:06:51 It's written by Robert Kennedy Jr. And of course he's running for president on the Democratic side in 2024. But this guy, you know, when somebody is brave and when they speak the truth about the thing that everybody says, you can't talk about that. Yeah. That guy's a hero. So I would love you to go to the real Anthony Fauci movie.com. Hey, here's the good news.
Starting point is 00:07:20 It's free. Okay? Only on that website. the real anthony fouchi movie.com for 10 days it is available so i think starting today for 10 days you can access the film for free yeah he talks about the collusion between big tech big pharma and big government we've all seen this over the last few years with the vaccines all of this stuff but he has the guts to use his big Kennedy name to talk about this, to draw attention to it.
Starting point is 00:07:55 I saw the film. I saw every minute of the film. And it is one of those things that, you know, you need to know what's going on. Because a lot of people kind of say, well, it's hard to say what's going on. Watch the film and you will see it's not that hard to say. Yeah, I'd love it. Big Kennedy goes up against big government, right? I mean, it's kind of amazing.
Starting point is 00:08:15 Yeah. But you're talking about, what do they call it, profit-driven agendas? These are people that are They're making a ton of money Doing evil things But they're getting away with them Yeah But we can expose them
Starting point is 00:08:29 We need to expose them So I want to recommend to you Go to the real Anthony Fauci movie.com For the next 10 days only It is free But it is riveting I watched every minute of it
Starting point is 00:08:42 It's a full-length feature documentary You'll see So just go to real Anthony Fauci Movie.com The real Anthony Fauci Shemovie.com. Okay, now I can tell my goofy story quickly. Albin, this is like, this was like a dream. Some friends of ours, some friends of ours invited Susanna and me to dinner, and we're so busy, we don't
Starting point is 00:09:03 go out much, we go to this dinner. It was really a delight. I won't say why, but it was just kind of a crazy, wonderful time. And we walk out of the restaurant onto Fifth Avenue, and I got to get a cab and it doesn't look easy and I finally see a cab I lift my hand the cab pulls up the cabby's window is down he pulls right up in front of me and says you're eric metaxus and I said excuse me uh what like people don't understand in New York city right this might happen you know if I'm hanging out at the Dallas airport but for a New York cabby to pull up and say you're Eric metaxis Then the guy starts telling me, like, I listen to Showtime. I know what you did in Alaska.
Starting point is 00:09:52 You know what we're in Alaska. And I love listening to Ken Fish. Ken Fish is great. I said, this is, this goes like, you know, this goes in my journal. This was like, this was such a delightful moment when a New York Cabby listens to your show. All right. We've got plenty today. Abby Johnson, Lure TV.
Starting point is 00:10:10 We're at NRB. Don't go away. I don't know about you, but I'm sick and tired of iconic American brands selling us out to appease radical leftists. Legacy PM Investment dot com legacy pm investments dot com check it out hey there folks i'm at the nrb in orlando i don't really love orlando but it sure beats that uh that gerbil maze in uh in nashville where we often meet for the nrb oh my gosh i'm sitting here the my my cackling friends uh are the the gentleman behind lure TV. It's
Starting point is 00:12:48 L-O-O-R L-O-R-T-V and well, I'm forgetting Jason's last name. Marcus Pittman Jason Farley. Okay, now you have to speak to the microphone. And Jason Farley. Farley and Pittman.
Starting point is 00:13:05 You guys, you've been on the program before talking about lure TV, but most people listening right now are going to say, I don't know what that is. L-O-O-R-T-V. So why don't you tell my uninitiated friends who are listening right now, what is LOR TV? And why am I a fan of it already? So, yeah, so LOR TV is a streaming platform that's like Kickstarter and Netflix had a non-woke baby.
Starting point is 00:13:33 Kickstarter and Netflix had a non-woke baby. You got to say these things slowly because that's powerful stuff. Yeah. You guys are anti-woke. You're at least non-woke. You are, I mean, both of you are men of faith, but in the best sense, like you're really serious about your faith, but you're also really serious about being fun and edgy, which to my mind is central. Like, I don't see any characters in the scripture who are hallmarked, safe kind of people. Right, yeah. Well, and the Roman poet Horace said,
Starting point is 00:14:12 he who entertains most, or he who entertains best, educates most. Horace said that? Yeah, Horace said that in the Ars Poetica. Can I tell you, first of all, I didn't expect that somebody would be quoting the Ars Poetica on this program. This is a family show, and we're going to have to edit that out. But seriously, Ars Poetica, it's not A-R-S-E, it's A-R-S-E, it's A-R-S-E, it's A-R-S-E. it's A-R-S. It means the art of poetry.
Starting point is 00:14:38 Ars Poetica. But Horace, I mean, this is a sentiment that heard attributed to many people, but the quote from Horace, say it again, because it's good. He who entertains best educates most. Okay, I'm not kidding.
Starting point is 00:14:53 I didn't know that Horace had said that. That's what the first century, what we did? Yeah, first century, and that's where Horatio comes from. So Hamlet is most famous for having Horatio say that
Starting point is 00:15:04 at the end of the play. but Horatio is based on Horace. How could a TV executive be so smart? It doesn't make any sense. You think you're a fraud. I am not. You're not? I dropped out of Bible College.
Starting point is 00:15:17 So I have no idea what he's talking about most of the time. So you guys, Jason Farley and Marcus Pittman, you guys started lure TV, L-O-O-R-T-V. And if I sound like I'm advertising it, is because I want people to discover. it. I already know enough because we've had enough conversations on the air and off the air. I'm excited about your vision. So I guess the question is, if somebody's
Starting point is 00:15:46 just tuning in right now and they want to check it out before they even hear about it, where would they go? Actually, right now if you go to lure.tv slash Eric, E-R-I-C, you can sign up right now and your listeners can be the first to subscribe. Are you serious? Yeah, no, 100%.
Starting point is 00:16:02 L-O-O-R, L-O-R, L-O-R, L-O-R, dot TV slash Eric. Yes. And people can subscribe. Yes. Okay. What are they getting? So when you subscribe, this is what our platform is so magical.
Starting point is 00:16:16 Because right now, we're just, we like to say we're the streaming platform with no content yet. Yet. Yet. Yet. So when you've heard about some of the content that you're going to have. And that's why I'm so excited to have you. And the content. So basically what it is is when you, when you have a Netflix subscription or a Disney subscription,
Starting point is 00:16:32 you give that money to Marxist Hollywood executives. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Who doesn't want to fund Satan's projects around the world? Come on, people. We all do it. We all do it. Satan's minions got to eat just like everybody else. No, but you're, look, you're right. When you're talking about Disney Plus, you're talking about Netflix, you're giving money to places that at best are not working, are not doing things to bring the culture in the direction that most of us would want.
Starting point is 00:17:00 That's at best. Some of them are working very actively against everything we believe in, including. you know, Liberty on the American model. So when you subscribe to lure TV, obviously, because I know you both, the opposite is true.
Starting point is 00:17:17 Yeah, so every week we're giving people loot. It's $14 a month for a subscription, but you're spending that $14 a month funding movies and TV shows. And once a show is funded, it'll stream on the platform for everyone to see.
Starting point is 00:17:33 So the community's coming together and we're building a streaming platform one piece of content at a time. Look, we've talked about some of the stuff you guys are, you know, creating. It's nuts. Like, some of your stuff is so edgy and funny and beautiful. But part of me feels like, you know, whenever I encounter guys like you, I feel like, you know what, you can't make it up. Like this is just sweet generis to stick with our Latin theme.
Starting point is 00:18:03 It is, it is, talk about some of the stuff. I mean, some of this stuff is so hilarious and edgy. Talk about the teddy bears. Yeah, so we've got a show coming up called Barely Biblical, and it's about animated stuff teddy bears reenacting the most violent stories of the Old Testament. What teenage boy is not willing to pay $14 a month to watch that? Or a dad and his son. No joke, no joke.
Starting point is 00:18:28 Because I want to see, what's interesting is that the two of you, you take, the Bible seriously. You're not mocking it. But because, and I'm with you on this, we take it all so seriously that we're free to have fun. We are free to do crazy stuff. So it's called Barely Biblical. Barely B-E-A-R-L-Y. Barely biblical. It's so stupid. It's stuffed. It's stuffed teddy bears reenacting the most violent scenes from the Old Testament. Yeah. So like instead of blood, it's fluff coming out of them and all of the... It's comedy gold. All the Gentile bears have the full tag and all the Jewish bears have a clipped tag and the whole the whole business. Wow.
Starting point is 00:19:09 I thought we were like pushing the boundaries with ours Poetica. I know. We should ask Dennis Craigor what he thinks. He's right next to us. I know Dennis is right next to us. I hope he's not overhearing this because we've been friends up until now. But seriously, you're creating a lot of content that dares to be really funny and edgy. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:29 But that is not, that doesn't go too far. Unless you're a Hallmark Channel devotee and they're out there, they, unless you're someone who really doesn't have that sense of wanting that from entertainment, you're going to be, I think, surprised and shocked and thrilled. And as I said, I'm glad you guys could be on the program again because I just want people to know to have hope that there are people out there doing stuff like this. This is, it's just fantastic. So talk more about what, what you're going to have at L-O-O-O-R. So it's lure, L-O-O-R dot TV slash Eric, if you want to sign up.
Starting point is 00:20:11 Yeah. So we have another one. This is a really important story. There was a black woman who streamed video games on Twitter. Very popular. Name was Gothic's. And she dared to question the narrative. And when everybody was freaking out about,
Starting point is 00:20:31 the little mermaid, the new casting of the little mermaid, she said, well, you know, it's possible that there's reasons besides racism that somebody thinks it's a bad casting call. And she got canceled. This is a black woman who got canceled for making a common sense observation. Right, for saying, you know, she said, I was surprised too. I just wanted her to look like Ariel that I grew up with. Right.
Starting point is 00:20:57 That's not a radical statement. No. But she got canceled so significant. that she lost her entire income, lost her, you know, where she didn't have a place to live, everything, because she was, she had questioned the narrative that everybody said, you have to think this way if you're black. And so, and a filmmaker came in and said, can I tell your story? And so they went back and have put together her whole story and the, her movement from towing the line to becoming a conservative to becoming a Christian in the process, her, her and her boyfriend and just is an amazing story. And the movie's really moving. My 17-year-old daughter watched it and said, Dad, every teenager in this country needs to see this movie.
Starting point is 00:21:43 Now, what is it called? It's called Gothics. Gothic. Now, will that be available at lure.com. It's funding right now. Oh, it's funding. Okay. So we want to make this clear that when these things get funded to the subscription,
Starting point is 00:21:56 they get produced. This one's already made. So when it gets funded, then it immediately started. It starts the stream. All right. Gosh, this is, it's exciting. Now, we were talking last night. You've got some stuff that is so funny. The comedy level, now the point is that this kind of comedy has always existed.
Starting point is 00:22:19 Right. But for people who are, like, devout Christians to feel the freedom to do this kind of comedy, that's what's new. And that's what's exciting to me. because I've always had this twisted sense of humor. And I think we all know there are, of course there are limits. Right. But the idea is that some people, they don't, they play it so safe that they can never really say anything. And so that's why I get excited.
Starting point is 00:22:44 So when we come back, we're going to talk more about lure TV. So it's lure. Dot TV, and you're telling people they can subscribe. I didn't know this. They can subscribe now, lure.tv slash Eric? Yep. All right. Well, I don't think we've sold them enough.
Starting point is 00:22:58 When we come back, we're going to talk more. We'll be right back. Are you tired of not getting a good night's sleep? Tell me why Relief Factor is so successful at lowering or eliminating pain. I'm often asked that question just the other night. I was asked that question. Well, the owners of Relief Factor tell me they believe our bodies were designed to heal. That's right, designed to heal. And I agree with them.
Starting point is 00:24:30 And the doctors who formulated Relief Factor for them selected the four best ingredients, yes, 100% drug-free ingredients. and each one of them helps your body deal with inflammation. Each of the four ingredients deals with inflammation from a different metabolic pathway. That's the point. So approaching from four different angles may be why so many people find such wonderful relief. If you've got back pain, shoulder, neck, hip, knee, or foot pain from exercise or just getting older, you should order the three-week quick start discounted to only 1995 to see if it'll work for you.
Starting point is 00:25:04 It has worked for about 70% of the half a million people who've tried it. and have ordered more on one of them. Go to Relieffactor.com or call 800 for Relief to find out about this offer. Feel the difference. Hey, folks. I'm talking to the two men behind Lure TV. Literally a year ago, I met these guys at NRB. Can anything good come out of NRB?
Starting point is 00:25:36 Well, yes. I met the LR TV guys at NRB. No kidding. L-O-O-R dot TV. And you guys are. creating insane content, really kind of wildly entertaining, edgy stuff, but also profoundly serious about God and truth. And, you know, anybody knows that that's, we're talking about reality.
Starting point is 00:26:03 The characters in the Bible, I said it before, that, you know, John the Baptist was not like a Hallmark Channel kind of guy. This is not just a diss the Hallmark Channel, although why not? But the fact is that you guys are willing to go there. So I want to hear a little bit of your stories, like how did you get to this place? Yeah. So I... And this is Marcus talking.
Starting point is 00:26:23 Yeah. So I was a documentary filmmaker. I was head of video production for an agency that handled a faith-based streaming networks, marketing. And I made this documentary on abortion that got deleted off of Amazon Prime. And it was actually three years ago Memorial... What was the title? Babies are still murdered here. Oh, wait a minute.
Starting point is 00:26:44 You can't say that. What's wrong with you? What's wrong with you? Babies are still murdered here. So you made a documentary called Babies Are Still Murdered Here. Obviously, you and I were pro-life. And it was a documentary, and it did air initially on Amazon Prime. Yeah, it did, yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:06 And then some of the woke people said, Ah, ah, ah, ah. Truth makes us uncomfortable. You can't do that. Right. Yeah, and so it was deleted and removed, and I thought, we have a real problem because a majority of the Christian film industry is like hallmark movies,
Starting point is 00:27:22 and then Hollywood is never going to let us make the kind of movies that we want to make. So there's this massive middle, which we've found out really now, is just content for men, because a majority of content was made, like whether it's Christian movies or books or music, it was made for women who shop at Lifeway Christian Bookstores or family Christian bookstores, and those bookstores don't exist anymore. So we wanted to make content for men.
Starting point is 00:27:49 And so that's why we're pushing the envelope and really doing that. To be clear, because I've talked to you guys a lot, this isn't only content for men. Nonetheless, because there are tons of women who don't fit that hallmark demographic. And it's sort of funny because it's like when I see this Christian fiction,
Starting point is 00:28:08 like an Amish romance novel or whatever's out there. And there's money to be made. there. But that doesn't mean that it's good. We believe that when you make content for men, the wives and the women will follow. Because women
Starting point is 00:28:23 go with their husbands to see Top Gun. Women's watched the Mandalorian and Star Wars with their husbands. So that, we believe, is content for everybody. But it starts with the male being the leader of his household and being the one making decisions over the shocking patriarchal notion.
Starting point is 00:28:40 It is highly patriarchal. That's like biblical propaganda. I can't believe you would mention that on this program. What is wrong with you? People might be listening to this. No, but it's kind of interesting. So you're willing to go there and kind of do edgy stuff. And so you, but it started for you, Marcus,
Starting point is 00:28:57 when your documentary was pulled off of Amazon Prime. That's when you said, we've got to create our own platform. Yeah, and I had, I was a... And this is Jason talking. Jason, I was a screenwriter, comedy writer, and I was, had a show in development with, a Netflix producer and each time it went up another level
Starting point is 00:29:18 I had to re-explain why it was that there were mentions of God and that sort of thing well the show was called Dante and it was a high school comedy about a high school senior navigating the nine levels of high school hell
Starting point is 00:29:33 so I kept having to explain this is it has to have God in it it's Dante right yeah yeah remember those people live in the middle ages, they actually believed in God, you idiot. No, come on. Are you kidding me? You're kidding me. You're not kidding me. Not kidding. Yeah. So it's about best friends, Dante and Petrarch at a high school. And so, but during COVID, I got all of the rights to the show back
Starting point is 00:30:00 and everything and thought that that path isn't open anymore for Christians to tell stories that just reflect truth, right? It's not propaganda. It's not, but it's just trying to reflect truth. Truth has fallen out of favor. Truth is being canceled. reality is being canceled also and they they know that they're ignoring a large part of the market or they know now because they made cuties and they lost the largest number of subscribers in a month that they ever had in the history of remind remind my audience quickly because it's too painful to remember it was just it was a Netflix Netflix it was a French show about young girls being trained in well they were they were dancing but it was they were very they were very well they were very well they were very well they were very well they were very sexualized. They're very sexualized at a very young age. And the backlash was so strong. Look, this is what's happening. It's why no one will ever drink a bud light again, ever. Yeah. Because not in the past, the reason you wouldn't drink a budd light is because it tastes like peepee.
Starting point is 00:31:02 But today, ideologically, you say these companies, they've gone insane. They are out of touch with your average parent. And so they're creating. stuff like this, but there's a backlash. So the backlash from Netflix was gigantic when they made this thing called Qudies. And they have tried to go out and get that audience back by making faith-based content, but they don't actually know what they're doing because they don't speak that language, right? So they make things and they're trying to win the audience back. Well, what that means is there's a large audience out there who if you can serve them, if you give them the content that they want, then. you're blessing people that are and so we've got to show um actually hang on this is what we call a cliffhanger lure tv l o'oer dot tv we'll be right back folks welcome back i'm at nrb with the two gents
Starting point is 00:32:26 behind what's called lure tv l o'r dot tv uh and and we're talking about i mean the reason we hit it off a year ago and ever since is because when you guys shared this stuff i said i've been talking about this for 30 years. I care about this. I understand what Horace said years ago. This has been my mantra. This has been my raison d'et. This has been what I see as the answer in this culture. But how do you do it? Who's going to do it? So you guys are doing it. You've created lure. dot TV. Now, everybody wants to know. L-O-O-R. What is that? Where did that come from? It comes from the word laurels. So in ancient Greece, when somebody would win in the golden age of Athens,
Starting point is 00:33:16 they would win the contest of who had the best drama and comedy, they would get laurels. Okay, that's the Latin word. The Greek word is Stephanos, victory crown, but lure comes from that L-O-O-R. TV. From the laurels. And so the one who won that contest, their story became the story of the city for the year. it was the lore. And so that's where that comes from. And so we're in a fight for the story of the city.
Starting point is 00:33:43 And the best, made the best story win is one of our taglines. And so we're trying to show that if you free Christian creators, that they can actually compete for the best story. They can compete and more than compete. Some of this stuff is kick ours poetics. So what else? But you have just launched this.
Starting point is 00:34:10 We just launched. So people can subscribe now. That's why I'm kind of, I feel like I'm getting a breaking news thing. Yeah, this is the first time we've finished this. It's on your show. Because we could have done this without you. Honestly, I didn't know that. I'm not kidding.
Starting point is 00:34:23 You mentioned it last night. I didn't know that. Yeah, no, your audience is the first audience that's getting to hear that we have now launched. But you have to go to lore. combe slash Eric to do it. We really care about stories and art as art and art being valuable. And what we want to do is create a platform where artists are truly free to make what they want without Hollywood executives dictating that.
Starting point is 00:34:49 And I think we've built that. And I don't think there's anybody making content like we're making content. And it's a lot of fun. Listen, I'm not kidding. You're the answer to a lot of people's prayers. Yeah. You understand that because, you know, folks like me who, some people are, you know, artists or visionaries or whatever, but to be able to build something like this and to figure out how to build it and then to build it and then to put it out there, it's a big deal. So that's why I get so excited.
Starting point is 00:35:20 You know, a year ago, you were talking about it. Now you've done it. Now people can actually subscribe. And I just want to say that I know it will succeed. the questions in the details, but I just know it will succeed because the hunger could not be more keen for this kind of stuff.
Starting point is 00:35:36 This is nuts. Yeah, here's the thing. Conservatives are really good and we put a lot of money into talk radio because we have the truth, right? And nobody listens to leftist talk radio. No way does. It fails every time.
Starting point is 00:35:49 But what we've done is we've said, well, okay, because we have the truth, we don't have to worry about media and stories as much. Yeah. But the problem is because we have the truth, We should be making stories. Because we have that worldview, that center, in which all these stories can come from, that we don't have to worry about Hollywood anymore.
Starting point is 00:36:10 And when we free the artist to do that. Well, listen, back when Frank Capra was being allowed to make films, we had this happening. I mean, there were people make... I watched Turner Classic movies all the time because about half the time they've got some film on there that is reinforcing, you know, genuine morality. and biblical values or whatever it is, even when it's not. I mean, I just watched Jezebel with Betty Davis the other day.
Starting point is 00:36:38 That's a morality story. You know, they try to sex it up, like, oh, it's glorifying transgression. No, like it starts that way, but like all good stories, it ends badly, and that person has to come to repentance and there's redemption. And, you know, and that's a 1938 film with Henry Fonda. Hollywood used to have its finger on the pole. of America and it made a lot of money and it drifted and drifted and drifted until it could not be farther from the pulse of America, which is where you guys come in. So that's why I'm just
Starting point is 00:37:10 thrilled to death. And you are empowering, I hate that term, what a cliche. You are, but you're allowing, you're inviting new young filmmakers to get on board and to make cool stuff. Yeah. So yeah, we've got something like a show like Churchville where it's a, it's the It's a comedy about a megachurch and the megachurch that's planting across the street and the competition that they're in. It's so funny. That is killer hilarious. Because how many people know that world of like church competition and stuff? And some of it's really sick.
Starting point is 00:37:46 Some of it's funny. But you guys have created. So it's called Churchville. And when that gets funded, people are going to be able to watch episodes of this. And you get to see where they're competing for the, cool kid to come be the one who leads their music. You know, the, the musician that leads pop star classes during the week as his, as his tent building, you know, that sort of thing.
Starting point is 00:38:12 And it's very, very funny. And it's, it's, it's a little edgy in the sense that, you know, normal way people interact is. But it's not edgy on purpose. It's edgy because the world has sharp edges. Yeah. And we sometimes cut ourselves. Yes. sometimes, but then we coagulate.
Starting point is 00:38:32 It's all part of God's plan. No, seriously, though, Churchville, when you start telling me about this yesterday, you've told me about it before, but I forgot. And I thought, this is just, I am like kind of drooling for this thing to happen. And if you look throughout history, the future is always laughed into existence. Whoever's funniest is the one who defines the goals of society moving forward. Who said that? The future is always laughed into existence.
Starting point is 00:38:58 That's brilliant. Did you just say that? I just said that, yeah, I don't know. I'm pretty sure. I'm pretty sure I learned it from you. I'm pretty sure. The truth is always laughed into existence. Yeah, you must have heard that from me because I whispered it moments ago.
Starting point is 00:39:11 But it's true. Yeah. And listen, there's also something emotionally about humor, about making fun of ourselves. If you make fun of yourself in the right way, not in a toxic way that's tearing down. But that's why I'm so excited about happening. I have the stuff you've mentioned, but Churchville is, that's particularly exciting. We've got no time left. So I guess this is where I tell people, I didn't know this, but suddenly you can subscribe
Starting point is 00:39:41 to lure, L-O-O-O-R dot TV slash Eric. And this is going to be a fun ride. Congratulations to both of you on the launch, finally, and we'll be talking. God bless you. Thanks so much. We are at the NRB in Orlando. Albin, it's always a little confusing. This NRB in Orlando, I like it better than the one in Nashville,
Starting point is 00:40:35 just because it's ever so slightly less chaotic here. I'm not a fan of the Opry land gerbil maze. We're there next year. By the way, yeah, we're back there next year. But we've got all kinds of guests this week. We've got a lot of exciting stuff coming up. I want to remind people. of a couple of things.
Starting point is 00:40:56 First of all, we are, today our guests are Abby Johnson and Lure TV. I mean, just unbelievable. I don't know really how to describe them. But we've got a lot of guests that we're going to be recording here. Yeah, Pastor Jack Hibbs. My wife and I listen to him every Sunday. We love Pastor Jack Hibbs. He's here and he's going to be on this show.
Starting point is 00:41:21 He's going to be part of what you're doing as well with him. We're recording him tomorrow. Yeah. Yep. We're recording Alveda King, the niece of Martin Luther King Jr. Kind of amazing. We will be talking to Erwin Lutzer. I love talking to Erwin Lutzer.
Starting point is 00:41:41 He's one of those people I could just talk to him forever. He wrote that great blurb for your book, A Letter to the American Church. The cover of my book, Letter to the American Church, right at the top above the title, is an endorsement from Erwin Lutzer. And it's one of those endorsements you think, I couldn't have written that myself. It's exactly what I hoped people would take away. By the way, I don't want to forget.
Starting point is 00:42:07 Letter to the American Church, people have been saying over and over and over, you've got to do a study guide. You've got to do a study guide. I'd never done a study guide before. Well, we did a study guide. It is now available. You can get it either at Socrates and the city.com
Starting point is 00:42:22 or at Amazon, but it's a study guide, because a lot of churches want to do this in their home group. So it's letter to the American Church, the study guide is available. I'm very happy to say that. Again, you can find it at Socrates and the city.com, or you can go to Amazon. It's available at both places. But it's a study guide. We've just never done one before, but people kept, when enough people say something eventually, you know, you figure, we'll do it.
Starting point is 00:42:53 Okay, I heard you. Shut up. So, yeah, we did it, all right. We'll get it. Go buy it. But anyway, so we've got to mention before we go to our break again, our campaign with CSI. I just want to say, folks, this is an amazing opportunity. I want you to think of it as an opportunity.
Starting point is 00:43:12 You can help free a human being who is in slavery. You don't have to go back into the past. Right now, there are human beings who are enslaved. If you go to our website, metaxis talk.com, just imagine that whatever you give helps free someone from a life of slavery. Today, they are in a life of slavery. Because of you, they could very soon be freed from a life of slavery. Hard to talk about, but this is real, what these people go through. And the idea that we can do something about it, I just say, you know, often there's not much you can.
Starting point is 00:43:52 do. You can always pray, but when you can actually give $10 or $20 or $250, whatever you give is going to free somebody from a life of actual slavery, this is not metaphorical, we're not making this up. This is an amazing opportunity. So I want to ask you, if you haven't done it yet, and I know most of you haven't, would you please go to metaxis talk.com? That's our radio website. Metaxistalk.com. When you go there, you'll see the banner right at the top. It's right there. Anything you give is not just appreciated, but goes to doing God's work. CSI is doing God's work. They can't do it without you. So please go to metaxis talk.com. Thank you.
