Starting point is 00:00:00 Folks, welcome to the Eric Metaxus show, sponsored by Legacy Precious Metals. There's never been a better time to invest in precious metals. Visit legacy p.m. Investments.com. That's legacy p.m. Investments.com. Welcome to the Eric Metaxis show. Back again, eh? Glutton for punishment, eh? When will you ever learn? Now, here's the host that you hate to love, the man who with the reason your friend sponsored your last intervention. Eric Matt, Texas. Hey there, folks. Welcome to the program. Today's kind of a strange day.
Starting point is 00:00:47 It's a national holiday. So we're off today, Chris. We don't need to do this. I know. We're those kinds of people. We're extra special. Well, listen. Today's a big day for me,
Starting point is 00:01:00 because tomorrow is my dad's funeral in Connecticut. And, And wow, where do you begin? Where do you begin? First of all, I want to say to everybody, his passing was God's tremendous mercy. Tremendous mercy. The last number of weeks have been the hardest of my life. And I'm so grateful to everybody who prayed for my mom, for the situation.
Starting point is 00:01:27 Dad passed on Wednesday. And when we say past, what does that mean? Passed into the arms of Jesus, folks. People don't die. we go on to eternity. And my dad went into the presence of Jesus. And so that's one of the reasons that I can rejoice in the midst of all of it. As I say, the funeral is tomorrow in Connecticut.
Starting point is 00:01:52 It's mostly friends and family. And anybody wants to make, you know, people say like, oh, can we send flowers or whatever? In lieu of flowers, anybody who would like, we'd be thrilled if you made a donation to Socrates. In the city, in honor of my dad, you just go to Socrates in the city.com. Because today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, we will, in both hours today, have Alveda King, who is his niece. Hey, folks, it's kind of a big deal. And she's a friend of the show. She's been on numerous times.
Starting point is 00:02:29 We had her on, I think, maybe NRB when we were down there. Yeah, a few times. Which is coming up again. I can't believe it. I don't believe it. So coming up shortly, we have the niece of Martin Luther King, Jr. A couple of other announcements. First of all, we've finished our CSI campaign to Free Slaves in Sudan.
Starting point is 00:02:51 To all of you who participated, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. Amazing, amazing. I do think our listeners, and I've gotten a chance to meet them a little bit when we've traveled recently more and more actually. And they're all great. I haven't met one listener where I'm like, you know what? I'm not so sure about that guy. Right.
Starting point is 00:03:12 Our listeners, I think, are exceptional. Well, because we repulse the freaks, the madmen. No, it's... They're amazing. You guys are amazing. It's our goal. No, it is actually...
Starting point is 00:03:24 Like really? You're right, actually. Yeah. But that's why I never understood years ago, people, you know, you'd see Lady Gaga or somebody who said, like, how do I do it for the fans? I was like, what?
Starting point is 00:03:32 When I meet people who listen to this program, you have no idea what it means to me. People have no idea. Or if you read my books, you just don't know what it means. It blesses me in my bones. So it's great to do this with you. Yeah. For me, it's weird because I have been doing this for Lady Gaga.
Starting point is 00:03:49 What? Two-timing, eh? Yeah, that's the only reason I do this. All right. And she doesn't listen to the show, I'm pretty sure. Well, but we have a lot of the same fans. Yeah, that's true. Because I got a big Judy Garland thing going on.
Starting point is 00:03:58 And outfits as well. Yes, that's right. That's right. Okay, so. Yeah. This week. that tomorrow is my dad's funeral.
Starting point is 00:04:09 I mentioned, instead of flowers, donations to Socrates and the city, Socrates and City.com. I should also mention that this week we are launching,
Starting point is 00:04:21 we've been working on this for a long time. Talk about a culmination. Talk about a milestone. Socrates Plus is launching this week. Ladies and gentlemen, I won't try do it justice.
Starting point is 00:04:37 If you can be one of the very first to sign up, I would say that's a good thing. But you'll get an email this week. Socratesandcity com, socratesandcity.com. This is exciting, and we will be talking about it. Once it launches, we will get into the specifics. There's some just crazy
Starting point is 00:04:54 wonderful stuff, and it represents so much work to get this thing going. It's just beautiful. Yeah, it's amazing. It's, your daughter, Anna Rose, is kind of you know that song, Jesus, Take the wheel. Anna Rose is taking the wheel in this situation. And she's driving it at full speed. Driving the bus. Driving the bus. It's out of control. It's amazing. The developers have done a
Starting point is 00:05:16 great job making this site and channel. Yes. And the designers and everything. It's beautiful. And no thanks to Katie Madonna. She did nothing. That's why I'm saying it. Okay. Other big news. Letter to the American Church, the documentary. You and I, Chris, were in Dallas recently where we saw the final cut in front of an audience of elite media people and oh boy holy cow this is like next level documentary it's not like you're normal you know I hadn't seen it
Starting point is 00:05:46 it's not normal you know I had seen the earlier cuts and I had just been so busy I haven't had a time to see like the final final and they always say you know like oh this isn't the final one yeah you know we they do a lot of stuff in post that's right and this one when you see the final I got all my prison tattoos and stuff and it's just freak it's gonna freak you out It's going to freak you out. But actually, seriously, what they did, the final version, whatever they tweaked, it's major. It's really kind of amazing.
Starting point is 00:06:12 Yeah, it's really impressive. It's impressive. They have people that, again, it's like Hollywood people who have day jobs by day and Hollywood and by night they work on our stuff. Yeah. So you can go to letter to the Americanchurch.com, letter to the Americanchurch.com, letter to the American church.com. You can see the preview there.
Starting point is 00:06:28 And then you can, well, it's going to drop officially February 8th. And we can't tell you how, but we will tell you how. If you're not signed up for my newsletter, now would be the time, folks. Go to ericmataxis.com and sign up for the newsletter because there's just more and more and more that we can't share with you in this radio on this radio program. It's just too much. And we can't show you photos and so on and so forth. But it is important that you know what is coming up. And the Socrates in the city brand, which has existed since the year 2000.
Starting point is 00:07:10 Remember when that was in the future? Yeah, that was in the future. Now actually it's in the past. But back in 2000, when we launched Socrates in the city, we never dreamt that it would be, you know, that we have now archived a zillion shows. And some of the ones, even the ones that we didn't videotape in the beginning, they're going to be available at Socrates. plus as audio, as podcast, whatever, just a treasure, absolute treasure. So all of that stuff is available. We've talked about a new program now called Socrates in the studio.
Starting point is 00:07:48 We've taped what, seven of them. Honestly, the conversations that you guys have captured, they're sort of like paired down, you know, to an audience of a few, but they're terrific. Well, yeah, it's Socrates and the city without the audience of 250 people. And so we can afford to do more of them and get more of these conversations out to you. So you've got to sign up at Socrates. Plus, again, this week, the official email will go out.
Starting point is 00:08:14 So if you're one of the first ones, you will tell your friends, because you'll say, I had no idea. This is amazing. Eric didn't describe it correctly. There's a show that we're doing a brand new show. This is the brainchild of the aforementioned Katie Madonna. Katie, whom we love, came up with this idea
Starting point is 00:08:32 a gentleman's guide to New York, gentleman's guide to Philly, whatever, and we filmed the first one. That'll be available as soon as you sign up for Socrates Plus. You won't believe it. I won't believe it. It is freaky stuff.
Starting point is 00:08:46 It is me zipping around New York City. Yeah. It's like, you know, if Anthony Bourdain was half Greek, half German. And lived in New York and had a weird West Anderson vibe visually. Yeah. Imposed upon him. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:09:00 No, there's some loony stuff. I write, I recite a poem that I wrote called Barry the Seagull. I recite it with the Statue of Liberty behind me, and it's a poem that I wrote, and it might freak you out. In fact, I think it will freak you out. So is it Barry, like that's his name, Barry? Barry is the name of the Seagull, and that's all I can tell you now, but when you sign up for Socrates Plus and you look at a gentleman's guide, you're going to get the full freaky thing. It's going to come to you. So, all right. So I think we've said everything that needs to be said. We've got a lot of people. We've got a lot of people this week. As I said, let me just ask you,
Starting point is 00:09:44 pray for my mom and for our family. As I said, tomorrow is the funeral. And look, we've never been through anything like this by God's grace. And we, it's an unknown territory for us. So I just ask your prayers that the Lord be with us. the Lord guide us in every detail of it. All right, praise God. When we come back, we're talking to Alveda King, the niece of MLK Jr. Folks, right now in other parts of the world, people's lives are being threatened simply for believing in Jesus. People have been enslaved for their faith. So listeners to this show know that I'm passionate about the work of Christian Solidarity International because they protect and free those who are being persecuted and enslaved for their Christian.
Starting point is 00:10:32 Christian faith. I've got to thank you for your life-changing generosity for years. Now, if you've given a CSI through this program, you have played a role in freeing literally thousands of captives. So as we near the end of this year, can I ask you to give once again your gift of just $250 will free a woman in Sudan who has been enslaved for years? You can buy a believer's freedom and provide her with food and other supplies necessary to start her new life. Just $250. Maybe you can give more and free more people call 888-253-3522, 888-252, 8-8-8-253-3522, or go to metaxisstalk.com. Please do it metaxis talk.com. Tell me why Relief Factor is so successful at lowering or eliminating pain.
Starting point is 00:11:17 I'm often asked that question just the other night. I was asked that question, well, the owners of Relief Factor tell me they believe our bodies were designed to heal. That's right, designed to heal. And I agree with them. and the doctors who formulated relief factor for them selected the four best ingredients, yes, 100% drug-free ingredients, and each one of them helps your body deal with inflammation. Each of the four ingredients deals with inflammation from a different metabolic pathway.
Starting point is 00:11:43 That's the point. So approaching from four different angles may be why so many people find such wonderful relief. If you've got back pain, shoulder, neck, hip, knee, or foot pain from exercise, they're just getting older. you should order the three-week quick start discounted to only 1995 to see if it'll work for you. It has worked for about 70% of the half a million people who've tried it and have ordered more. On one of them, go to Relieffactor.com or call 800 for relief to find out about this offer. Feel the difference.
Starting point is 00:12:21 Hey there, folks. Welcome back. One of the dangers of doing live radio, which this is not, is that what if the guest doesn't show up? This is a real moment in radio life. That's almost true. Yeah. My wife doesn't like it when I sing, by the way. Almost is good enough.
Starting point is 00:12:38 Wives tend not to like it when their husbands sing. And you know what? Who cares? No, but seriously, we, today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day. National holiday. Happy I'm okay day. So we booked his niece, Alveda King. And we can't reach her.
Starting point is 00:13:00 Yeah, there's some technical. And I just want to say, I'm not a week. okay with that, Alveda, if you're listening to this program, what's up with that? You need to show up. You need to honor your commitments. No, seriously, can you even imagine? She's probably doing, you know, TV all over the world today. So she's a little bit busy. Yeah. But we got bumped. We got bumped. We got bumped. Yes. And so actually, no, I don't know if she's going to come on any second. My hope is that she'll be on any second. We're trying to get her, but in the meantime. So we're vamping. We're vamping. We're vamping. No, well, look, we've got so much stuff to cover. We have. We have
Starting point is 00:13:32 We have this week we have Doug Giles coming on. Yeah. And Doug Giles is certifiably crazy. He kills animals and he poses in front of them while he talks about theology. What is up with that? I'm pretty sure the last time I saw one of the animals wasn't totally dead, even though it had been stuffed. Oh, yeah, he doesn't care. Yeah, it was like kind of winking a little bit.
Starting point is 00:13:50 Yeah. He's got animatronic lions behind him and stuff. So we're going to be talking to Doug Giles. I don't think it'll be today, but it might be today. If we can't get Alveda, we're going to go straight to Doug Giles. Or we might talk to our lore friends against you. Lour TV, I've gotten very involved with LOR TV since we're just yakking here. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:14:12 LOR is spelled L-O-O-R. TV. And they are doing some crazy stuff. Like media that's, you know, sort of Christian and sort of loony in the best way. Yeah. I think combining faith with crazy creativity, is beautiful. It's rarely been done. They don't do it on the Hallmark Channel. Yeah. There's sort of a faith media ghetto, I would say, where they'll either target sort of a
Starting point is 00:14:40 general audience or older people, but there's not a lot of stuff that's for teens that that's kind of realistic. It's either too sweet or the sort of the secular folks tend to make it too inappropriate. So to do some thoughtful... Yeah, too inappropriate. We want to make it just inappropriate enough. No, but seriously, that's something. we are doing through Metaxis media, and we are, we're in the process of raising literally millions of dollars. It'll probably all go onto the Socrates Plus platform, the programming. So if you sign up for Socrates Plus, I mentioned, I think, in the previous segment that if you, this week we're launching the streaming media platform called Socrates Plus, and there's going to be
Starting point is 00:15:21 all kinds of new shows, some of which we haven't even mentioned yet. But it's always been. I'm excited for the show. It takes an app. It's very simple. It's just you taking an app. It's very simple. No, but actually, there are so many shows that we are in the process of developing. But I don't think I've mentioned any of them on the program before, but they will be, many of them, if not all of them, will be on Socrates Plus, which is the streaming platform. Because part of the challenge today is, where do I go to find stuff that I like? and if you go to Netflix or Hulu or Amazon Prime,
Starting point is 00:15:59 chances are you're going to have a hard time finding the things you like. I mean, they've got every kind of channel there. You know, if you want got got got it all. But like Christian or faith-based or family, they tend not to have that because they're evil. Not that there's anything wrong with being evil. I want to be very clear. I'm not judging those who are evil.
Starting point is 00:16:21 It's for the kids. Everyone's doing it. Yeah. So, but anyway, so we're going to be raising a lot of money. And again, it's raising money because this stuff is really expensive. And traditionally, you know,
Starting point is 00:16:34 the faith... Or to do the programming, right. Not cheesy. Right. Why do people always... That's the word. People say, it's Christian, but it's not cheesy. Right. And you think, well, that kind of sums it up because there have been a lot of let's call it faith-based programs, films, TV programs,
Starting point is 00:16:52 whatever, that have seemed to be just for, you know, the youth group can watch it or something like that. And that's not horrible. It's very on the nose, right? If you want to reach people, you know, who are out there in terms of, they're out living in the world, trying to live their lives, and they wouldn't identify as evangelical Christians, but, you know, they believe in God or they believe in, you know, America. But they're not sure how to categorize themselves.
Starting point is 00:17:23 They're just normal people living their lives. we want to reach them with the truth, with the truth about faith and science, with the truth about the history of America, with the truth. There's so much stuff that we've been doing on a number of platforms, a lot of times on this radio program. And so Socrates Plus will be where we launch and stream a lot of the new programs that were coming up. But again, these are TV programs. This is not like radio stuff. it's TV programs. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:17:57 And so... And that's something that sort of the faith media universe has sort of stayed away from, if it wasn't like Veggie Tales or something else, TV series. Usually they'll do sort of a one-off movie that, you know, nobody outside of the church bubble will see. Well, it's so funny because if there's a, you know, if Christians, like, by TV station, like they'll air, you know, the greatest story ever told, episodes of gun,
Starting point is 00:18:24 smoke. There's not a lot of, you know, people haven't really been working in the world. Yeah. And I think you had the big hit of The Chosen, right, which is very much on the nose, but it's told in a way that's actually compelling and well done, I think. And actually, and I don't know if I've told you this, but some of the, we've booked some of the cast members are going to be on later this month. Of the chosen? That's right. Get out. Yes. The gentleman who blazed Jesus, We'll be here. I screamed out to my staff.
Starting point is 00:18:57 Bring me Thaddeus. And they did. Yeah. No, actually, we couldn't get Thadius. Yeah. What? Yeah. He's going to be on Kirk Cameron show.
Starting point is 00:19:06 Okay. Then bring me Kirk Cameron. No, we... Bring me Kirk Cameron's head on a plaque. Listen, there are a lot of... No, we can't say that. There are a lot of exciting things happening in the media world. The whole world of media has been fractured and put in a blender.
Starting point is 00:19:23 And we're in a new world, or we're emerging into a new world. So it is exciting, and that's why we're launching Socrates Plus. Have I mentioned that? You did. And I believe it's going to go live this week. It's such a gigantic undertaking that, honestly, people will hardly believe it when they see it. It's exciting. But I'm most excited about the merch.
Starting point is 00:19:47 Yeah, yeah. So there's a really talented designer, Lee. Why can't I think of his last name right now? Probably because of a recording on the air. But anyway, our designer Lee. We just call him a Mr. Lee. No, that's not true. His first name is Lee.
Starting point is 00:20:00 Yeah. No, he's in Charleston. And he's got a, they did a great job sort of redesigning the Socrates brand and creating some incredible merch. But actually it is. It's like gorgeous. It's sort of like, going to give Ralph Lauren and. It's kind of like you just want it.
Starting point is 00:20:15 You just want it. How can I get some of that? Yeah. It's actually beautiful. It's so beautiful. It's got a preppy vibe. not unlike, you know, yourself, right? And it's kind of classy.
Starting point is 00:20:25 I don't know. It's fun, though. But it's also casual, right? It's, you know what? You'll see it. You'll see. But you'll want it. That's what's so funny.
Starting point is 00:20:35 It's so beautiful. You'll want it. And we came up with the tagline, truth, humor, hope, period. Yeah. Truth, period, humor, period, hope, period. And I think, you know, if I'm looking for a brand for myself, you know, trying to think about, well, what do I care about? What do I, you know, it's, uh, that, that's where we came out.
Starting point is 00:20:57 It does sum it up. And every, you're hard to sum up. And when people hear that, they go, oh, yeah, that kind of clicks for them. And also, unfortunately, crack is whack was taken. So crack is whack is taken. And a lot of people get me confused with Charles Nolson Riley. Yeah. And I want to just say that there's nothing I can do about that.
Starting point is 00:21:13 But, um, I do, I do want to say, have we, have we been able to get Alveda King yet? No. Wow. That's all right. Has this ever happened before? Not really. Nobody does this, Eric Metaxis. Nobody.
Starting point is 00:21:27 No, seriously, that's kind of, I can't remember the last time this has happened. Because I looked at the email and I was, you know, you look like, is Luke, are we going to yell at our booker? But everything was, like, buttoned up perfectly. Yeah. So it's, you know, we hope she's okay. You know, I'm sure there's a good reason. And it will. I'm sure she's fine.
Starting point is 00:21:45 I'm just saying, you know. If we can't get her in the next segment, maybe we'll either talk to our friend, Doug Giles. or we'll talk to our friends at Lure TV. That's how we got this conversation started about media because they are doing some insanely creative stuff. And you've got to support this stuff, folks. Speaking of which, make sure you sign up for the emails. The Socrates Plus is literally $5 a month.
Starting point is 00:22:10 So when you sign up for that, you're going to get everything we mentioned and like five more things and whatever. It's exclusive. I also want to mention we finished our campaign with CSI, so thank you to all of you who gave. And I mentioned tomorrow is my dad's funeral. I'm going to be in Connecticut. And in lieu of flowers, please, anybody who wants to do anything,
Starting point is 00:22:40 you can send a donation to Socrates in the city at Socrates in the city. dot com. We would appreciate that. My dad used to come to Socrates and City events when he was able to do that. All right. We'll be back with a guest unknown to us. Don't go away. You've heard me talk about L-O-O-R-T-V, which you can find at L-O-O-R. TV. L-R-T-V-E-V-E. In the past, I've had the guys behind it on in the past,
Starting point is 00:25:43 Jason Farley and Marcus Pittman. And guess what? Here they are again. Jason and Marcus, welcome back. Thanks for having us. Thank you. What's new with Lure TV? Every time I talk to you guys, I get excited about your ideas of what you want to do with media. What's happening? Oh, we've had a great launch. I think we launched in June, and we've been growing ever since. And we've proven the model works. And we funded an episode of barely biblical. which is our show of animated teddy bears reenacting the most violent Old Testament Bible stories. And we're really just treading new ground and we're making content for men. For men. What's that all about? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:27 So no rom-coms? No, uh... Well, he's working on one rom-com. One satirical rom-com, but the rest is all straightforward content for men. Men and their sons, the kind of conversation. that doesn't get made in Hollywood because they don't like masculinity and the kind of content that doesn't get made by Christians because they also unfortunately don't like masculinity. Because they're wusses.
Starting point is 00:26:55 Yeah, grow a beard, will you? Go a beard. You know what? I'm growing a beard. People don't know this. I'm growing a beard every second. Right now. I'm growing a beard as much, if not more than either of you, bearded fellows.
Starting point is 00:27:10 I just want to be very clear that I am one hundred. 100% of the time growing a beard. And I'm all about that, man. I'm all about that. But Jason and Marcus, you're not only growing beards. You have grown beards in the past, and you're wearing them now. And you're representing the team well, masculinity. So Lord TV is about kind of like masculinity, biblical masculinity, right?
Starting point is 00:27:34 Not like Andy Stanley-ish masculinity. Yeah, we hired a marketing company when we first started this to figure out who the target audiences and we found out that there are 43 million men in America who tithe to their local church buy whiskey and cigars. Wait a minute. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. What the heck? What?
Starting point is 00:27:57 43 million men in America who tithe? I don't see that happening, but go ahead. So this is the genius of direct marketing. We found a direct marketing company and we explained what we were doing. And he said, so what you're looking for are the cigar and we say, we're looking for are the cigar. evangelicals. And we said that's exactly it. And so they combed through their data and we're able to identify 43 million men in America that have given money to the church in the last year as well as bought either alcohol or tobacco. And so we called them the cigar whiskey evangelicals. And that's
Starting point is 00:28:30 our target demographic. And they also listen to Joe Rogan, Jordan Peterson. They're looking for masculine content that is not being served by rom-coms. So wait. Meat lifting, meat eating, whiskey drinking, cigar chomping, black powder riflerry. You know, this is, I mean, it's fathers who are raising their family. Fathers who are raising increasingly bearded children. And I love this idea. So you guys, well, look, your stuff is very, very creative. It's awesome.
Starting point is 00:29:06 And it's, so the luniest thing you've done is called Barely Biblical, which I watch. It's insane. And to me, that's a compliment of folks. It's called Barely Biblical. But tell us about gothics. Can we talk about gothics? That's something that you have recently released? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:29:25 So it's a documentary about a Twitch streamer, who's somebody who she was playing video games for a living on Twitch and had a big, massive audience. And she has, the name comes from her goth past. She's a black video game. Twitch streamer who dared to go against what she discovered was the official narrative by just saying it might not make you racist just to not think that the casting of the new Little Mermaid is bad.
Starting point is 00:29:57 And she got canceled. Okay, now, wait a minute. When you say a Twitch streamer, I've never really felt too old until now because I didn't know what a Twitch streamer is. But here's the beauty. At a certain age, you have a kind of confidence where you couldn't care less. whether you knew what a Twitch streamer is. And I just want to be on the record.
Starting point is 00:30:16 I couldn't care less. But because I like you guys, I'm interested. So this... Let me explain it because it's super important because the cultural battleground is happening on Twitch right now. So Twitch is where video gamers stream themselves playing video games, like Minecraft, Fortnite, whatever the game is, Call a Doody. But they're huge celebrities, especially among younger people.
Starting point is 00:30:37 Your kids do know what Twitch is. And just two weeks ago, they issued a statement saying they were going to allow artistic nudity on their platform. And the men rose up and fought so hard against it. And so this is a video game platform. It's not only fans. And in 24 hours, they reversed course. The men switched on that. So the real men stood up.
Starting point is 00:31:06 Not the scummy adolescent men, but like the real. Real men who actually care about, you know, right and wrong and doing – they actually stood up on this platform fought back in one. Yeah, that's right. Their argument was you allow 13 years old and up on this platform. You ought not to ever allow nudity if you're going to allow children on the platform. And it's the men that stood up and won the battle instantaneously. It didn't even take long for them to win the fight. I mean, if you care about your kids – see, this is the whole thing.
Starting point is 00:31:39 If you've got kids, if you've got kids, if you've got kids – You care about your kids. You care about stuff like this. If you don't have kids, you don't care about anything. You just, you're thinking about yourself. But these are fathers. Usually they care about their kids. They said that that would be wrong to bring nudity on this.
Starting point is 00:31:56 They stood up. They fought and they won. That is awesome. I want to hear more about this. Folks, we're talking to the gentleman behind lure TV, L-O-O-R. TV. You've got to check it out. Trust me, lure TV.

Starting point is 00:33:32 Pittman. Welcome back. You were telling me about what Twitch streaming is, and that leads us to Gothic's, I guess. Yeah, so Gothic is a huge celebrity Twitch streamer who, who, who accidentally found herself going against the accepted narrative because she's a black Twitch streamer just by saying, I don't think race is actually the issue when it comes to the new Little Mermaid. Everybody piled on, canceled her. She got removed from different black Twitch streamer groups and was just canceled and lost her entire. Just so I'm clear. Like, I'm really proud of myself that now I know what a Twitch streamer is, thanks to you. but black Twitch streamer.
Starting point is 00:34:22 Is she black? Yeah, so she's black. Okay, so she is black and she's a Twitch streamer and she said that she thought that the casting of Little Mermaid with a black mermaid, she thought that that was kind of dopey, which I think most people would at least think that, yeah, maybe that's dopey. But by daring to say that, she got canceled.
Starting point is 00:34:46 She got canceled, right. And so then a, a, a, a Christian filmmaker said, can I come in and tell your story? Because her story is she got canceled and it opened her up to an entire world of new ideas that had always been considered off limits. So she'd never heard about any of them. Thomas Soul. Thomas Soul, capitalism, different ideas.
Starting point is 00:35:09 And in the process, begins meeting Christians, begins meeting people that she wouldn't have ever run into in her circles. And it changes her life. And so the story is the story of this life change. experience that was awful at the moment, but you see how God used it for good in her life. And it's a beautiful documentary. And so we just launched that on the site and people have loved it. Can I brag that Shadow Jackson, the producer for Uncle Tom, gave it a 10 out of 10?
Starting point is 00:35:38 Can I say that? And how do people see this documentary? Yeah, if you subscribe to lore.tv, L-O-O-R-T-T-V, you can get a free seven-day. trial. If you use the code Gothic's, you can get a 10% discount off your first month and a seven-day free trial. And you also will help financially support the filmmakers in using that code. And I want to be clear that gothics is spelled G-O-T-H-G-G-G-I-X, right? I-X. Correct. Yes. Gothic's G-O-T-H-I-X and L-O-O-R. TV. But what you guys are doing is revolutionary and it's pioneering.
Starting point is 00:36:23 And anything that's revolutionary and pioneering is tough. So I just want to take my hat off to you and say thank you for doing this. Because obviously, Hollywood isn't doing this. Hollywood is the problem. Hollywood is what got this young woman canceled. And you guys are telling the story of this young woman who got canceled. But it's a beautiful thing that this is happening a lot where people get attacked as this woman got. a black woman being attacked for essentially being racist or not being woke enough.
Starting point is 00:36:54 She gets attacked, but that wakes her up and she starts looking around and talking to different people. And next thing you know, she realizes that, you know, she has been taken. She's been duped for years. And now she's awake to the reality that we actually live in. So these are wonderful things that are happening around the country. I think of a lot of people that have had on this program that they weren't where we are a few years ago. But by getting attacked, they thought, wait a minute, and it woke them up. And so now they're fighting and they're in the fight. So you just said that people can see this film, Gothics, by going to lure L-O-O-O-R dot TV and subscribing. You can get a free subscription if you use the code Gothics for
Starting point is 00:37:40 a seven-day subscription and 10% off the first month if you use the code word Gauthics. Is that what you said? Yes. Okay, I just want to be very clear on what you're saying. And what kind of a film is it? You say it's a documentary. You said animated. What is it? It's a documentary series. A TV show.
Starting point is 00:37:57 Sorry, movie. Yeah, documentary movie. So we, and, you know, my 18-year-old daughter said, every teenager in the country needs to see this because we don't realize what's really going on. And it's just, it's the kind of thing that takes the blinders off and really helps people see the way that coercion is being used against them. I tell you something. I mean, what your 18-year-old daughter said. that is so true that if every 18-year-old were exposed to this story, just this, how many of them would go, yep, I hadn't thought of that, but that makes sense. That makes sense. So I hope people
Starting point is 00:38:38 listening will go to L-O-O-R lure.tv and check it out. I mean, really, you're doing heroic work, and not just in doing creative stuff, but in telling these stories. What else is happening with Lour TV? Well, I'll tell you this. You were talking about us being disruptive. I want to explain how disruptive what we're building is. If you've noticed all your streaming services are increasing their prices on everybody, they're getting rid of password cancellation, password sharing, canceling it.
Starting point is 00:39:10 And Amazon Prime just added $3 a month if you don't want commercials. I noticed that. Yes, I saw that. So our platform allows monthly subscribers to spend money funding movies and TV shows they want to see. In October of 23, the average person who spent money on our platform spent $160 in addition to their monthly subscription. So that is insanely disruptive. We've built something that is damaging to the foundation of the Hollywood ecosystem and revolutionizes streaming in a way that no one is done or has the guts to do. And that's how you
Starting point is 00:39:45 You cancel Hollywood Because you build something better and more profitable And it's insane We're really excited about what we're doing and where we're going And now we just need brave capital To really throw some gasoline on what we've built Well that's the whole thing There are a lot of people out there
Starting point is 00:40:04 You know that need to be in this fight with you guys And I hope that I hope that there are people waking up I hope that there are people who care enough about their teenagers, for example, to step up and to do something. So everything at lure TV, L-O-O-O-R-T-V, is unapologetically bearded and Christian. And I just want to be clear that people can find you there, L-O-O-R dot TV. I think we're going to go to a format. So hang on, guys.
Starting point is 00:40:41 We'll be right back, folks. O-R-T-V the password or the code you want to use as Gothix, G-O-T-H-I-X. Nothing is really wrong. Feeling like I don't belong. Hey, get rhythm. When you get the blues.
Starting point is 00:41:16 Come on, get rhythm. When you get the blues. Welcome back, folks. I'm talking to the gentleman behind L-O-R-T-V. O-O-O-R-T-V-V. Jason Farley-Marcus Pitman. We've talked about your idea. This is so brilliant for a rom-com like parody.
Starting point is 00:41:36 Right, yeah. Can you talk about that? This is genius. This is, I told you I talked to Rob Schneider on a plane because you were thinking of him as the lead for this, the Lumberjack lead. But what is this film that you have in mind? What is it called? Well, it's called the lesbian and the Lumberjohn. Whoa, whoa.
Starting point is 00:41:53 What? It's called the lesbian and the lumberjack. Yeah, and it's a satirical rom-com about a woman who thinks she's a lesbian, but it turns out she's just never met a real man. So she meets a lumberjack and sparks fly. Exactly, yeah. So she's on her way back to Portland at Christmas time, and her car breaks down out in rural Oregon.
Starting point is 00:42:16 Is she dressed a little bit like the lumberjack? Yeah, she's got the pink hair and all the, the things that she thinks, you know, this is what people want from her. But it turns out that hanging around the gays in Portland hasn't taught her what real masculinity is. And so she feels the lesbianism begin to leave her body when she meets the lumberjack and sees him do things like pay for her meal, things that, you know, just normal gentleman would do, but she's never experienced. You know, speaking as a lumberjack wannabe, I'm offended by your whole, your whole tawdry concept.
Starting point is 00:42:56 And the fact that you've got to go into the gutter like that, I just want you to know I'm offended. And a lot of my listeners are offended, the lesbian and the lumberjack. So, so, so you've written the script and you're looking for, you're looking to cast your lumberjack? Or what's the story? Yeah, so we're in the process of casting. we're in the process of, you know, pre-production, getting it all prepped. We've got a Christmas village down in Oregon
Starting point is 00:43:26 reserves to film in and all of the things that we need and we just now need to find the actors. And so I, and the reason that a story like this is important is because nobody is telling the stories of, nobody is telling these kinds of stories that are actually a reflection of reality. What does it look like for somebody,
Starting point is 00:43:50 who has really bought into an LGBTQ lifestyle to come back to reality, to come back. So, you know, she meets the pastor and his wife in town. She meets kids being raised in this sort of environment and says, wait a second, there's this whole world that I've never seen before. And as her imagination is expanded to be able to understand the reality, hopefully the people watching, it's the same sort of thing. And then it's funny so that it's actually enjoyable because you have to entertain people
Starting point is 00:44:25 to be able to really bring them along to a new idea. Could I play the owner of the Greek diner? I know there's no Greek diner in this, but I want you to write it in and I want to be that guy. There is a diner. We'll just make it a green. Yeah. Well, it's a real diner.
Starting point is 00:44:45 It's owned by a Greek, all right? Get it right. This is supposed to be reality-based, okay? All right. So, so, but this is like so amazing to me because it sounds like you're parodying, and this is so ripe, it's like a Hallmark Channel film, like one of those films. It's a Hallmark Movie Channel, that movie that men would want to watch. Well, it's a Hallmark movie that would be actually funny. Like, I don't think that that's ever happened before.
Starting point is 00:45:14 So it just sounds, it sounds like a. great parody idea. And this is why I want my audience to know you guys, because very few people are insane enough to come up with brilliant ideas like this. That's such a brilliant idea. The lesbian and the lumberjack, I want to be in that film. What do I need to do? L-O-O-R-T-V-V. You can use the code Gothics, G-O-T-H-I-X, G-O-T-I-X, G-G-O-E-H-I-X. Great to talk to you, Jason Frawley, Marcus Pittman. Keep it going. fascinating and fantastic. How bless you.
