Starting point is 00:00:09 Welcome to the Eric Metaxus show with your host, Eric Mettaxas. Hey there, folks. Welcome to the Eric Metaxe show. I'll be playing the role of Eric Mataxis, the host, until further notice. But the good news is my guest will be playing himself. His name is Mickey Robinson. Mickey, I don't know where to begin. So let me just say, hello.
Starting point is 00:00:33 Welcome to the program. So good to be here. Good to see you again. It's great to see you. And your story is one of the most amazing. stories I've heard. So I'm going to force you to tell it again because I know that there are many people that are tuned in that they don't know your story. And when I heard your story, I just thought this is one of those stories. So let me say you have a new book out called Supernatural Courage,
Starting point is 00:00:54 activating spiritual bravery to win today's battle, Mickey Robinson. But your first book, and the way I got to know you, is called Falling Into Heaven, a Skydivers gripping account of heaven, healings, and miracles. Great title falling into heaven. Let's start there because you were kind of a different person when you were a teenager, wouldn't you say? Yeah, I was, you know, it was hot stuff, I thought. You were hot stuff. Where did you grow up? I grew up in a suburb around Cleveland, Ohio. I went to eight years of a pro-kill school and to high school, and this was, you know, the mid-60s. And, you know, the American dream for a kid like me
Starting point is 00:01:39 seemed to be accessible for anybody at any kind of talent or ability. And as I progressed more, I began to react to the media culture, whatever, you know, be somebody, do that. I was really good at sports. I could be in the in crowd, but we grew up in a, I went to high school and a small school, and it was really good.
Starting point is 00:01:55 I was good at all kinds of sports. I played football since I was a little kid. I was a snow skier. I was on a swim team. I did gymnastics on my own. I just evidently had a talent. So you were tremendously gifted. And did you say that you went into finance?
Starting point is 00:02:11 I'm trying to remember. Yeah, at my 18th birthday, I started working a stock record firm having no experience at all. I just kind of looked like I talked my way into it. And then they promoted me. And I was buying and selling other people's stocks millions of dollars a day. And so it was feeling pretty good. And my ego was blowing up like the good year blimp. And I mean, I felt it seemed to match what I like to.
Starting point is 00:02:33 do. But, you know, there's never enough in this life to stimulate you if you're looking for stimulation. And so I liked a lot of things. I was always fascinated with aviation. I started flying airplanes, and I found out it's really cool to jump out of the way. Wait, wait. How old were you when you started flying airplanes? Probably it was about 18. And how did that happen? It was a little ad. You could do a practice ride for $5 at a little airport, you know, a little commercial airport in the area. And I did that. And then I found out about skydiving. And I became totally into it. After one jump, I became pretty much a skydiving crackhead. And after 20 jumps, which is a very short period of time, I was asked to be on a professional demonstration team,
Starting point is 00:03:15 which as far as I know, that never happened before. After 20 jumps. Okay. So you were really into this. Now, I just have to, I always, I remember the first time I interviewed you, I remember you get the picture of like, you were a hot shot. You're super talented. everything's going great. You don't know what to do. And I've met people like this over the years, and they always scare me a little bit because you can see it's not going to end well, not that they're going to get into a horrible accident like you did, but you just feel like they're insatiable. They just want energy and excitement and, you know, and it's all coming to them and every. And so for you, it was skydiving.
Starting point is 00:03:56 Here you are 19 years old. And suddenly, I mean, even in that, you rock it up in finance. You rocket up in skydiving. They ask you after 20 jumps to be on a, I mean, that's like amazing. Well, the thing about it is, first of all, I might have looked good and I might have felt good, but I was missing the most important thing. Didn't know what that was. And when you're on a search for anything, when you get somewhere, you think you got it,
Starting point is 00:04:20 but there's always more. And for me, free fall is, it's really where it's at. It's that when you jump out of the plane and you're in free fall and before you open your parachute, you feel like you're flying. and it really is. Okay, so that's what was the most exhilarating part. Oh, yeah. Because drifting down on a parachute's not that exciting.
Starting point is 00:04:38 It's like, well, it is. It was beautiful. The first time, too, it's so quiet and beautiful, but then you've got to do it again and again and again. You know, so it's like, it's like, you know, I don't want to say it's like drugs because it's. But of course it's like drugs. Well, I was obsessive, so it began to,
Starting point is 00:04:52 everything was about skydiving for that period of time. Okay. But it was like literally, I was falling into freedom. I didn't, you know, the Vietnam War was going on. I didn't think about the draft. I was in love, going to get married. That was okay, but it wasn't as important as this living for the moment. Literally that moment was 30 to 60 seconds in free fall, open your parachute, have a nice landing, and do it again.
Starting point is 00:05:13 So you were going to get married. You were 19. I'm going to get married maybe in another year. So my girlfriend was in college in Southern Ohio, and we did all the right stuff. It seemed like. But suddenly, the life that I knew ended in a moment. We were going up on five skydivers in the plane. three professionals and two students to put out, and the pilot, Piper Cherokee 6.
Starting point is 00:05:35 Were you at this point considered professional? Yeah. So how many jumps in were you at this point? Not that many, you know, a hundred some, you know? Okay, that's a lot of jumps, but okay. But the thing was for me to get it out of an airplane was as much as for me getting out of that cab today. It didn't take any kind of, I was never afraid to jump. And it wasn't because I was adrenaline junkie.
Starting point is 00:05:57 I wasn't afraid so there wasn't adrenaline. It was the pleasure, living for the pleasure of being in front of. free fall. People can have that. I said living for the moment, that could be 30-year career, that could be a certain relationship, that could be a goal, like achieving something monetarily. This was momentarily rushes of pleasure hiding what was really missing. So what happened when you had this horrifying accident? We took off, I don't know how, you know, maybe 100 feet in the air going, you know, on takeoff fast, and then all of a sudden we lost the engine. The pilot hit me. We took five and six seats out. He says, oh, my God, we're going down.
Starting point is 00:06:29 Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. You're only 100 feet up. Right after takeoff. So you just took the plane off. You said there's five of you in the plane. And at 100 feet up, you lose the engine. And there's nothing you can do because you lose all the lift, too. So you basically fall like a car would from that height going like that.
Starting point is 00:06:47 In other words, you're not, yeah. In other words, if you're at a thousand feet, you're actually, the plane is flying like a plane. At 100 feet, you're like a rock. Yeah, aerodynamic stall. and you just dropped straight down. And I'm sure the view at the windshield was like we're all dead. And we hit a tree. The wing on this side of the plane where I was sitting hit a tree and cartwheel a couple of times.
Starting point is 00:07:09 And, of course, it tore the fuselage open. And when we wedged into the ground, of course, my face stopped my body going 100 miles an hour against the instrument panel. Your face stopped your body. No seatbelt, yeah. Going 100 miles an hour. It's a pretty bad head injury, obviously. And then shock and confusion as the skydive was, even my partner was getting out of the plane of the baggage door that we opened. I mean, it is a little miraculous that anybody survived.
Starting point is 00:07:31 Yeah. Did you all survive? The pilot was burned alive. So I was stuck. Something had a hole to me. I was trying to escape through this hole that was in the side of the plane. I was pulling with my hand and something had a hold to me. And I was soaked with fuel and on fire from head to toe.
Starting point is 00:07:46 You were soaked with fuel and on fire from head to toe. Yeah, the fuels held in rubber bladders on either side of the wing. And we emptied the left wing so we'd be a little lighter. So this one was full of fuel. It just got in there and somehow it exploded when my partner got out. He heard screaming, and he ran and grabbed me, and I was just soaked with fuel and burning alive. Then what happened? It rolled me on the ground to get the fire out, and I said, Mick, get out of the way.
Starting point is 00:08:12 I took a couple of steps. I fell over backwards, and I hit hit the ground. It was real fuzzy. I don't remember the actual fire. Do you remember pain? Not then, no. No, it was, I don't know why. I just don't.
Starting point is 00:08:23 It's amnesia, you know, for a reason. And I remember my head hit the ground. and I put my head, my back of my head, and I looked in the back of my head was stuck to the palm of my left hand. And then I remember being in the ambulance, and for the first time in my life, a young hot shot who didn't know God,
Starting point is 00:08:39 I called out to a God I didn't know, and to a Lord that I never served. Please help me. I'm sorry, please help me. It's all I didn't know how to pray. I grew up in church. But you said, I'm sorry. That's interesting that you would feel that need to say that.
Starting point is 00:08:52 Again, it was short and desperate. Again, I was in church since I was an infant, but I didn't know anybody. It was really a Christian. I never really heard the gospel that I know of. And if I did, I don't know, people say, what if? And I said, I probably wouldn't have listened.
Starting point is 00:09:06 But I cried out to God and they took me. I think the doctors thought I probably wouldn't make it through the night. I might die of shock from the massive burns, head trauma, lacerations. And I remember they took me in for surgery. I don't remember anything. And the next day, all these people came in to see me in intensive care, basically to say goodbye.
Starting point is 00:09:24 But I didn't die that day. They knew you were dying, but somehow you didn't die. We're going to go to break. Folks, talking to Mickey Robinson. The book is falling into heaven. We'll be right back. Hey there, folks. How many years have I been telling you about relief factor? What, like four? The truth is, I know there are millions of people. In fact, some say over a hundred million people struggling with some kind of pain, maybe from exercise, just getting older. That could do it, getting older, which is why I am so impressed with Pete and Seth Talbot. They are on a mission.
Starting point is 00:10:16 You rarely see this kind of focus and commitment. Seriously, they recently shared with me that they are doubling down and want to literally double their total number of happy customers in the next year. And I believe they'll do it. So here's the deal. If you're struggling with back, neck, shoulder, hip, or knee pain, even general muscle, aches and pains, then I'm suggesting you order their three-week quick start, still discounted to only 1995, about a dollar a day to see if we can get you out of pain too. And then after that, less than the cost of a cup of coffee a day to stay at a pain. Go to relieffactor.com. Relieffactor.com or call 800, 500, 384 relieffactor.com, 800, 500, 8384.
Starting point is 00:10:54 I use it. It works. Check it out. Folks, welcome back. I'm Eric Metaxus. I'm talking to Mickey Robinson. The book, Falling Into Heaven, a Skydivers gripping account of heaven, healings, and miracles.
Starting point is 00:11:19 Okay, so you should have died. You didn't die. Well, I developed multiple complications. They did all they could. A massive infection. I went from 170-some pounds, solid muscle, down to 9. 22 pounds. Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Starting point is 00:11:32 This sounds like it took a little while here. It was a couple of weeks. No, you're in a hospital. With the kind of burns, you have just the evaporation process. You alone will burn six or seven thousand calories for every liter of water. So I was like 40,000 calories a day. A doctor told me. From the burns?
Starting point is 00:11:49 From the evaporation process. I've never heard this. I didn't hear it at that time either. So you went from being an athlete, a 19-year-old athlete to 90-something pounds. Infection all over my body, inside my body. I was bleeding sometimes 10 pints of blood a day, emptied the blood bank. The blood had microorganisms leaving it. They tried everything to prevent all this stuff.
Starting point is 00:12:11 They called in a specialist from Case Western Reserve, a famous hospital in the area. And I read his summary, all these paragraphs, and the end of it just says there's simply nothing I can offer with this young man. At that point, basically, they would think I was medically and physically hopeless. What were those weeks like? This is a few weeks in the hospital. It sounds hellish. Sometimes I was in a coma. Sometimes I was fuzzy and sometimes I was hyper awake.
Starting point is 00:12:36 The pain is unhelpable with drugs. The pain is so amazing. How can that be? I mean, that's just... It's just, dark-ass medical people. For some reason, it's really bad pain. And this is in the 60s. 1968.
Starting point is 00:12:50 One of the worst years in American history. 1968. Yeah. How did you avoid the draft? I mean, what was that? I got drafted while I was in intensive care. Is that right? Yeah, and I didn't show up, actually.
Starting point is 00:13:03 But, you know, that year, it was one of the most horrible years. We had Jim Lovell, the Apollo 13 astronaut, we'll talk about how horrible it was. And he said, you know, we had Martin Luther King. A couple months later, we had RFK, we had riots, we had protests, we had all of this stuff. And then I got an accident. But then the very end of the year, Apollo 8 went around the moon. So here I, so just to catch up a little bit. So they basically were going to give up.
Starting point is 00:13:28 And I had this experience I had never heard of before. My body was shaking and I was burning up with a fever and freezing cold because they had this thing to try and cool me off. How many weeks into the suffering? Just a couple of weeks in. So the few weeks in. I had holes in my body where my bones were sticking out. Wait a minute. Bed sore holes.
Starting point is 00:13:45 Mickey. Yeah. What? You can look at the pictures. But, you know, and here's the thing. I didn't know how sick I was as things were going on, you know, until, and as when it got to, to be the worst. And I had this experience, it's in the middle somewhere. When I had this experience of my spirit just came out of my body. Instantly, I'm in this spiritual realm. Your spirit came out of
Starting point is 00:14:09 your body. It just came out of my body. I never heard of this before. Now physically, what was going on at this point? Were you dying? You were dying? Yes. So would you say that you died? Yes. You died. You're 19 years old. Two weeks into like horrible burns, infections, and you die? And what did you experience? My spirit came out of my body and instantly I was thrust into a spiritual dimension. And there's no questioning. You just know that you know there's not the element of logic and reasoning because you're in a different dimension. And the colors of everything are more colorful.
Starting point is 00:14:42 Everything is razor sharp. The emotions are intense. And the biggest shock that I had was a comprehension of eternity. Everything is time and space here, even when you get spiritual and all that. As long as you're attached, you're aware of time. There you're aware of forever, ever, ever, ever. And I was gliding on like a path upwards like this, and no control of what was going on.
Starting point is 00:15:07 And there was a white opening in a distance. I could feel like a piece, and I'm going towards it, and then something was closing, or I could feel a pressure like on my right side. And I looked, and it was blacker than black. Instantly, I had a comprehension, a multiple revelation kind of comprehension. It was eternal. It was an abyss with no bottom. It's like I would pick you up and put you in a swimming pool of black ink.
Starting point is 00:15:29 You'd be super conscious and you know that forever you would never feel anything good. You would never know anything. You'd never see anybody. Be totally remiss from any life experience. You'd be cut off from the source of all life. This is a place that's called the outer darkness. And it was eclipsing this white, I call it a portal. I mean, it was whiter than snow, bright, but you could look right at it.
Starting point is 00:15:50 And I began to craft the same clumsy little prayer. Please help. I'm sorry. give me another chance. I want to be alive. I'd said it in the ambulance. I sat on the operating table. I said it when pain medicine didn't work now.
Starting point is 00:16:02 I'm on the very precipice, the edge of eternity. And I cried that out when I said, I want to be alive. I was thrust through that portal. I was standing in the presence of Almighty God in what is called the third heaven. Instantly I knew I was never going to die forever. Instantly. Now, there's three remarkable things.
Starting point is 00:16:19 All of it is remarkable. There's three remarkable things I want to note. One of them I already said. eternity is real. It's more real than time and space. The second thing, and this is really hard for people maybe to get, hard for me to get, because I'm not there. My consciousness was as if I had never done anything wrong, had never experienced anything bad. How could a person, a novitiate, not even, not even, the only comparison is the good thief on the cross, being that close.
Starting point is 00:16:47 How could that happen, but the blood of Jesus apparently washes white as snow? And God only forgives our sin. He forgets it. And in this heavenly realm, there'll be no remorse. See, that's, you know, it's impossible. Let's be honest. It's impossible for us to comprehend. And so we're looking through a glass darkly, even as I hear you tell this story,
Starting point is 00:17:09 you know, trying to comprehend something that's not comprehensible. It's like a person who sees in black and white and he tried to describe the color orange. You can't. And yet you have some. Oh, no, I understand intellectually. but I'm saying the idea that you felt this, that you apprehended this, without even really having the theology, you just knew in your being. It's experience.
Starting point is 00:17:33 And the third thing that is the most dramatic is the undiluted, perfect love of God. Perfect love. It's otherworldly. And now, okay, the things I saw there, I didn't see any, you know, beings. I didn't see any fat babies with diapers playing guitars and St. Peter checking IDs. but everything that was made was like translucent glass, but it had colors in it, and you could see through it. Now, what do you mean when you say you go through this portal
Starting point is 00:18:00 and you're in God's presence and you feel... I didn't see God, but it's just presence for the left, and there was this substance that was going through me between my waist and where my knees would be. It was like little golden speckles vibrating. It's the river of life. Everything that river touches is completely alive and completely terrified. So you felt yourself,
Starting point is 00:18:21 standing up to your waist in the river of life. It was like below my waist would be in my knees. It was going through me. And I was just vibrating in that dimension. But the perfect love of God is unbelievable. So these things I was seeing and all this stuff is alive and all of it worships God. That's the only way I can say it. The only kind of words I can put it in.
Starting point is 00:18:45 But isn't that interesting because our concept of... It takes no cognitive initial. It's automatic. You just know. You just respond to this love with love. And with this incredible vibration of holy intention. I mean, it's no guilt, no weirdness. Then I saw an open vision that eclipsed in the future
Starting point is 00:19:06 about six and a quarter years that I now calculate. I saw the whole thing. I saw my wife five years before we ever met. Saw the first house we were going to have in this little college town in Ohio. I had my arm on a rusty gate. And I'm looking out, this beautiful pastoral thing. I turned my head and I see this pretty blonde person walking towards me. My wife Barbara, five years before we met and six years before we had that property.
Starting point is 00:19:27 I saw some other things in the earth that were not so good things, but I was viewing them. And some of the things that were personal, I was drawn into the matrix of this vision. And the very last thing I saw, I saw a group of people on this little mountaintop. It looked like a real lush tropical place. And I could hear this person talking, and I was zoomed in like this. It was me. And I was saying, this is paradise. And then I came back in the presence of God and the Lord revealed to me
Starting point is 00:19:53 I knew that there is no paradise on earth. And so this was a place that Barbara and I almost were going to move to in the Caribbean. And when that happened six years later, I said no. You knew because of the vision that this was not... Re-impacted it. Yeah, when the time came for that to actually occur. Right. It came to me.
Starting point is 00:20:11 So you saw the future in this moment. Of course, when you're in eternity, people need to understand. Eternity is not a long time. Eternity is outside of time, which is another thing. So you're able to see the past, the future, the, it's, you know. But how, when you said you looked down and you saw some things on earth that were not so good, can you share that what that was? I saw, I saw that like the Woodstock type of stuff.
Starting point is 00:20:37 I saw music. I saw troubled people. I saw people trying to search. And some of it was more of an observer. And some of it I was drawn into the matrix because I was a participant in some of those things. Now, how long did this again? experience seemed to last while you're there? It's timeless. I mean, you can't say. You could see a million years. It doesn't matter. I calculate now because of the time that's elapsed. Right. It was about
Starting point is 00:20:59 six and a quarter years, you know. Yeah. And then I was in the presence of God and the Lord, he spoke not like in this language, but the spirit, the knowledge came into me. I was going back to the earth and I promised you I did not want to come here. I didn't want to come here. Everybody says that, right? That when you're there, you don't want to go back. Well, I can't believe anybody would make a choice. Some people say they make a choice. Now, I will say this. I think there's, and again, I have to fact check myself, there's something like 250,000 people that have had a near-death experience in the States.
Starting point is 00:21:27 Yeah. Not all of them experience. It will change your life. I don't care who you are. It will change your life. Some people have gone into what I saw, with his darkness on it. That was the second heaven. I now calculate that to be.
Starting point is 00:21:37 I want to put a pin in it, as they say in show business. We'll be right back. I'm talking to Mickey Robinson. The book is falling into heaven. Folks, welcome back to the Eric McAxas show, and I'm talking to Mickey Robinson. Mickey, you don't hear a lot of stories like this.
Starting point is 00:23:13 This is a story. Falling into heaven is the title of the book, A Skydivers Gripping Account of Heaven, Healing, and Miracles. So you have just told us this experience of going, as you put it, through the second heaven to, once you get through that hole into the white, you're in the third heaven, which is your, in the presence of God. You experience these things.
Starting point is 00:23:36 And then somehow God tells you you're going back. Yeah. The knowledge just comes as a higher form of communication. Yeah. And there is no logic. There's no excuse making. You don't try and we, you know, you just know that you know. And so the same way I left, I went through from the third heaven. I don't remember
Starting point is 00:23:51 seeing much in the second heaven. But as I came through the earth's atmosphere, I could feel my spiritual body, go through the roof of the hospital and my spirit sink into my flesh. It would be like I describe it as you can imagine if you were wind and you were blowing through like a bushy tree. You could feel that much.
Starting point is 00:24:09 And then the room materialized. I'm laying on my back. I could see out of this eye. I was blind in this eye. And it was like materializing like they do on Star Trek when they beam back up. I could hear out of these ears. And out of my mouth,
Starting point is 00:24:22 I'm worshiping God in this language I never heard. I never heard of this stuff. I'm laying there. And all of a sudden I have the ability to perceive exactly what's going. There was five or six nurses looking at me. I could discern exactly. These people were terrified.
Starting point is 00:24:37 They were scared to death at what they were watching. And I felt bad that they felt bad because now I'm a different person. And there's nothing that has changed in me physically. I'm still as deadly, hopeless. I'm still, there's no hope. I've lost everything. But I was full of a love that's unbelievable.
Starting point is 00:24:56 And the love that I saw, it wasn't the memory of it, isn't the tingling of it. It's the presence of God, God himself, and that river that I was standing in was now inside me. None of this is up here. It's all in here. And I love everything. And these people, and they're still waiting for me to die. That day, the next day after that, it was still critical. I had all these complications. They weren't trying to save my life. They were really waiting for the mercy of death to take me. But there started to be a trickle of healing now. Some of the things that were wrong with me, I was blinding the side, but below my knees, both legs, both legs, were paralyzed. I'd lost all that weight. I had infection. After I survived, after a couple of months
Starting point is 00:25:34 in intensive care, it looked like I was going to maybe live. I was never going to walk again. Still, I was still close to death. I want to go back to what you described, returning from the third heaven through the second heaven. The first heaven is what? Outer space? It says in the beginning, God created the heavens in the earth. Heavens are plural. I think it's the sky. I actually think it's all the physical universe. That's my opinion. It certainly is referred to as with heaven.
Starting point is 00:26:03 But what's interesting to me is we always talk about heaven as being outside of the physical universe, but clearly God uses the imagery of ascending. Jesus ascends. There's something interesting. In other words, there's a reason people say heaven is up there.
Starting point is 00:26:21 Even though on some level it's not up there, it's everywhere. The kingdom of heaven is within you. In other words, it's right near. us, but it's in another dimension. But God always seems to use altitude to convey that. So the idea that you're coming into the Earth's atmosphere and then down, down through the roof of the hospital. You don't come through the floor. You don't come to the wall. You come through the roof.
Starting point is 00:26:45 Yeah. I mean, I guess I just always want to know why. It's so fascinating to me. The idea that you're coming down into the hospital. We don't know. Let me say another thing is I never heard of this stuff ever. But the first spiritual consciousness that I can remember, it was maybe it was before this happened, but in the hospital. And my sister's father-in-law was a really big surgeon. He just came back from doing volunteer work in Vietnam, taking care of civilians all day, 12 hours a day. So he came to, and we were friends, apart from the relationship with my sister. And he examined me and checked me out. And he told him I was going to die. He told my family. But he was walking out and he was funny. He had a little hat on like the little hat people were. And I was,
Starting point is 00:27:25 going along with him and wondering why he wasn't even looking at me talking to me and he stepped on the little rubber thing that opens the door automatic door and the door went right through me so my spirit left my body you mean your spirit left your body and you happen to be standing behind him in your spirit my was drifting along with him and they didn't know it and as soon as that happened that was that was recalled back in another thing that happened that was I visited my girlfriend's front yard well I went to where I worked and wait wait wait you mean you're in the hospital back in that. Yes. You're at death store. Before I had this heavenly encounter. Before you have the heavenly encounter, you had spiritual experiences before that. I think I was so close to death. My spirit was in and out of my body sometimes.
Starting point is 00:28:08 And I went to somewhere familiar, like I went to where I worked. And everything was happening. And when I thought about it, it would recoil back. The moment you realized, wait a minute, what am I doing here? No, sure you think of anything unusual. Like, I was back. I was the front yard of my girlfriends. And everybody was in these card tables and they were all sad.
Starting point is 00:28:25 I'm wondering what's the problem. So I thought that we had planned their 25th wedding anniversary, my girlfriend. So they actually had it, but nobody was happy. Because they knew you were dying. Yeah. Okay. I don't even talk about that usually, but I thought, but you're touching on these things. I love this.
Starting point is 00:28:41 I love this stuff. I want to explore this. People are dying to know what is it like to die. What is it like to experience these things? What is the nature of this reality we pretend is not reality? Especially in Western culture. Well, of course. Now, I'll just say this.
Starting point is 00:28:56 Concerning, there's only two possibilities. There is an afterlife or an eternal endless state of nothingness. That's all there is. Yeah. The latter part usually leads to agnosticism or atheism. There's no, you know, you might as well. And Paul says, if there's no resurrection, you might as well party. So I am convinced.
Starting point is 00:29:16 But in the Greek, he doesn't say party. Yeah, you know, he does. Yeah. there is an afterlife, but where? It's like space, Captain Kirk is not the final frontier. Eternity is the final frontier. And everybody doesn't get there whether you believe it or not, whether you're in a coma or whether you're...
Starting point is 00:29:37 Oh, you're going there. You don't need to believe in it because you're going there anyway, whether you believe it or not. We're going to go to a break talking to Mickey Robinson, Mickey with an E, M-C-K-E-Y, falling into heaven is the book we're discussing. One stories away. What a story, Mickey Robinson.
Starting point is 00:30:06 Let's continue. You just were talking about eternity. You've experienced it. So many people, they don't know what to make of this. Like they don't, they hear you, but it's like blah, blah, blah. They can't really believe like this is reality. It's like something you experience, but they don't think of it objectively. Well, there's different ways to relate.
Starting point is 00:30:27 Actually, most people, not only interested, do believe in it. Even non-believers believe in it. And it's, it must us do something to inspirationally, inspire hope or at least inquiry. A person is very rarely to people like turn off. Now, I had other problems, obviously, they're still, you know, waiting for me to die. But when I started surviving, I said, I'm never going to walk again. I was blind for five and a half years in this eye. I had a miraculous healing of my eye. You're not blind in that eye now. No. Because it looks different. It is different. But there's a longer explanation. I had both legs were nerve damage from
Starting point is 00:30:58 all the nerves in front of anterior tibialis and the muscles. I had bilateral foot drop. I said never was going to walk again. I had a leg brace, you know, and it may feel. 15th, I would speak to my legs when I couldn't go to therapy, because I was having surgical procedures twice a week in a rehab hospital. Wait, wait, wait, surgical procedures twice a week? After they got out of that first hospital, they sent me to a rehab hospital on the way on the east side of Cleveland, and it was for real basket cases, and it had major therapy and stuff.
Starting point is 00:31:26 I had everything wrong with me. I had eye problems. I had internal problems. I didn't need any food for almost nine or ten months. My esophagus got damaged in a coma, and they thought I was. I had lost the will to live, but it got shrunk down to a stricter about four or five inches long where food could not even go through. So I had a rubber tube coming out of my stomach.
Starting point is 00:31:45 Let me, but let me just say, so after you have this experience, and you're what, two weeks in when you have this experience? I'm estimating that, yeah. Okay, so two and change, whatever. You have this experience. What happens from there onward? You said you're a different person? I loved everything. I'm another person.
Starting point is 00:32:04 I mean, it's, I was repentant, I guess. But I don't think I was born again and filled with the spirit like I was when I came back. Everything, I loved everybody and everything. I remember just things that were so different. Somebody had a little TV guide magazine and they had the Supremes on the cover and I said, well, she's pretty. You know, this is months later when I'm a little better. I'm still really sick. They said, well, yeah, for a black person, it just seemed odd to me.
Starting point is 00:32:29 It wasn't judgmental. It just seemed, why would you think that? You know, I just saw everything was beautiful. I loved everybody and everything. I saw a nurse talking, a doctor talking to nurse and he was being intense for there because she didn't do something right. I felt bad for both of them. Felt bad for her. So you're, yeah.
Starting point is 00:32:44 Now wait. But I felt bad for him because he was that way. When you are experiencing this at the worst of it, were you able to talk? Yes. So you were able to talk. But your face, I mean, I can still see today, you have scarring. Your face was really damaged. Oh, yeah.
Starting point is 00:33:01 At first it looked like, this side looked like a hot dog that was. in a fire. It was all black and they had to cut all of that off. They had to cut my ear off, you know, cartilage, no pain medicine when they did all of that. And it was after, you know, you know, months and months later, I couldn't move my face this far. It was because the strictures, because the scarring was so massive. And of course, I lost all that weight and muscle tissue. And, you know, I was pretty bad. So when you come back from this visit to heaven and you describe coming into your body, you said, say it again like you felt like you felt like, you like wind going through a tree.
Starting point is 00:33:36 If we were made out of like wind and you would go through something bushy, you know, a little more material than, I could just feel it. I could feel my spirit sinking. As you came back into your body, you could feel something. I could feel.
Starting point is 00:33:48 I could actually feel what it would, how it felt. I mean, I could say, I could feel myself, my spirit going into my physical body. And then everything materialized. I could hear and see out of this eye.
Starting point is 00:33:57 I'm laying flat on my back looking. I remember the air fixture up in the ceiling. And I heard myself worshiping God. And I thought, as soon as I thought, like literally like beside myself, I thought, what is that? It stopped, but the person who was dead, God turned death backwards. That's what I could say it. You're very verbal. Do you know that? God turned death backwards. That's a beautiful way. That's beautiful. Let me ask you. He does it
Starting point is 00:34:22 for all of us. Well, yeah, but I've never heard it put that way. That's a beautiful phrase. God turns death backwards. You did the medical team around you, as this is going on. Did they perceive that you had died or you had, what did, what did they believe was going on? They knew something happened, but they were focused, you know, they were focused with something that, you know, they were still waiting for me to die. But when they saw that I began to survive what was insurvivable, the enthusiastically tried to cooperate with that the best they could, you know, and, you know, I was addicted to morphine in a very short period of time. Then they took me off of it and went on Darvon. So I went through withdrawal in that condition.
Starting point is 00:35:05 because they didn't matter if I had a lot of morphine because I was going to die anyway, and I was in pain. Now I went straight off of it. So the pain was when my body became alive, the pain became more alive too. But that's a sign of life. It's a sign of life.
Starting point is 00:35:20 Yeah. And so I went all the way up towards Christmas Day. They were going to transform me to this rehab center. They had to wait for something to open up. And I had gone into therapy, and I stood up a little bit. You can look at the pictures sometime. A guy helped me up,
Starting point is 00:35:32 and my upper leg muscles, and had these leg straps on and a parallel bars holding this way and the guy was holding on to a strap holding me up the therapist. I took a couple of steps forward and then backwards and then collapsed.
Starting point is 00:35:44 And it was like I climbed Mount Everest and won the Olympics all in the same day. And then I got sick and I couldn't walk in it. I couldn't do that anymore. Going towards Christmas. And then when Apollo 8 went up because I'm still like that.
Starting point is 00:35:57 By then I had a room and a TV and I watched that go up and I love this stuff. And the whole world was watching. When they came back, around the moon. I don't want to think it was the first time. Maybe it wasn't. The three astronauts took turns reading Genesis 1. Oh yeah. I mean, this is famous. In the beginning, I've talked about it. And when they got to the 10th verse, I burst out crying, burst out crying. And it wasn't tears of
Starting point is 00:36:18 sadness. It wasn't remorse. It was joy. It was internal. What's the 10th verse? It's, I know, but I'm saying, why do you say the 10th verse? Was this something specific or? Well, it is now, but I mean, it was just, all of a sudden that happened. And then I just, it was tears of joy because it's miraculous. And that was miraculous. Apollo 8 was miraculous because Apollo won, three astronauts burned to death three weeks before the supposed launch. And, you know, President Kennedy made a faith declaration in 1961 that the United States would put men on the moon and bring them back safely by the end of the decade. And that happened. And so there was hope. That miracle, my miracle was going to happen. And so again, it was internal. I didn't know
Starting point is 00:37:00 it here. But, and then, you know, they shift me over this hospital. My brother, said when they took all the bandages off to examine, he looked like I got another airplane crash on the way over. It was still bad. But this trickles started going. And therapy was, I knew that therapy was part of my healing. But they said, I'm never going to walk again. And I would speak to my legs. It's a very frustrating when one leg was, I'm like the James Dobson, a compliant leg. It began to move. This one was dead and very frustrating. And then one day on May 15th, 1969, it completely was healed. Okay. When we come back, I want to hear how it was healed. Why would you go away folks I'm not even going to tell you don't go away because you you couldn't how could you
Starting point is 00:37:38 Alvin guess what it's time for the homework assignment every day on this program we're going to be given out a homework assignment I've been doing it casually but folks yeah it's going to be part of your grade and I think it is incumbent on me to say clearly yes what the assignment is since this goes into your final grade in the class okay so today's homework assignment yes first thing thing. This, by the way, this is for the month. SalemNow.com. If you go to SalemNow.com, there's a lot of stuff you can watch with your whole family. So visit SalemNow.com, but specifically there's a film out. It's called The Streets We're My Father. It's the Journey of Three Inner City Chicago Men, a story of fatherlessness,
Starting point is 00:38:52 gang life, prison life, and then the power of God to change lives, transform lives dramatically. it is hugely inspiring, but it also underscores the, like practically the most important issue. There is. It's called fatherlessness. If you don't want crime in America, deal with fatherlessness because it's huge. So go to SalemNow.com. It's called The Streets Were My Father. Okay, that's assignment number one. Assignment number two. Tell your friends, please, about Mypillar.com and MyStore.com and using the code Eric. A lot of people, maybe they're watching Fox News or something else, and it gives you a code. And I'm thinking, do you really want to give that portion of the profit to Fox or to whomever? Right.
Starting point is 00:39:38 Or do you want it to give it to this show, which has been banished from YouTube and is being sued by, I can't even go into that publicly. So we do need your help. Every time you use the code, Eric at Mypillow.com or MyStore.com, most of my books are at MyStore.com. and we'll have way more coming up soon, you're helping us defray those costs on this program, and we do need your help. So if you tell your friends to use the code, Eric, we're grateful. And as part of that,
Starting point is 00:40:05 Neutrametics is a new big sponsor on the program. We've had Tim Eaton on now twice. Watch those videos. We posted them on Rumble, and if you get our email newsletters, you've seen them. They are heroes, honestly, because they're producing a spectacular product,
Starting point is 00:40:20 and I'm learning a lot about different herbs and spices. or whatever they call them. What do they call them? Supplements. Oh, yeah, supplements. But not only that, they give 50% of their royalties to missions. Right. And you can listen to the thing.
Starting point is 00:40:34 It's amazing, yeah. But if you use the code Eric there, you get 20% off. And most of us use all these things, whether it's, you know, magnesium or zinc or vitamin C or vitamin D, all the basics, stevia, melatonin, and on and on and on. They have more exotic stuff. But I just want to say that every time you use the code, Eric, you save 20%. And it helps defray calls. us on this program and we need your help. So that's a homework assignment. And then finally,
Starting point is 00:40:58 finally. Okay, CSI. Yes. We are freeing slaves in the Sudan. Folks, am I making this up? No. People in this is, this is like the wake up call. For us in the West, we complain about, you know, getting banned from YouTube. There are people enslaved for their faith in Sudan. And I just want to say that we can do something about it. We did something about it was a year ago or eight months ago. We did a huge number of, uh, what? Was it Chris? That's right. And we freed like thousands of slaves. And this is an amazing thing. I can't even believe I'm saying this. But that's what CSI does. You can participate. Whatever you give goes to this. But anybody who gives $250 that frees a slave and they don't buy them out of slavery. It's more complicated. I won't go into it now. But it frees a slave and then sets them up in a new life. Now, again, it's incomprehensible to us. We're talking about people enslaved. So CSI, their boots on the ground, they're help. It's kind of astonishing to me that they do this. So, yeah, we recommend.
Starting point is 00:41:59 A banner is right at the top of the. Metaxistock.com. Right at the talk.com. Look for it. Have I mentioned our radio website is metaxistock.com. Have I mentioned that? You can call 888-253-3522. Say it again.
Starting point is 00:42:15 888-253-3522. Please give generously. This is incredible. People talk about slavery 150 years ago. this is happening today. And you can free a slave today. And the fact is, because of CSI, you can do something about it. God bless you.
Starting point is 00:42:29 Thank you. Thank you.
