Starting point is 00:00:10 to the Eric Metaxus show with your host, Eric Metaxus. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to hour two of the Eric Metaxus show. If you listen to Hour 1 first, I would say you did a good thing. If you're listening to this hour first, hey, shame on you. One comes before two. What are you thinking? I'm going to talk to John Zmirak, but if that's not crazy enough, I'm going to talk right now to Kevin McCullough.
Starting point is 00:00:39 Many of us know him as Vostradamus. Hey, Votesradamus, can you tell us, Albin and I were talking, we're launching a campaign for this month for Christian Solidarity International. People always say, hey, what can I do? What can I do? Well, one thing you can do is give something
Starting point is 00:00:57 to tremendous, tremendous causes. Christian Solidary International. They're involved in so many things. What is your relationship with them? How do you know? Well, let me tie together what we were discussing the last hour and with what we're going to discuss here because when when the discussion about critical race theory comes up and it's coming up everywhere it's in your school district it's
Starting point is 00:01:18 in your church it's in your community it may be in your home you're having family members argue about this you have parents arguing with kids everyone is discussing this right now one of the things i love to do eric is to wink at them back and say really what have you done to bring about social justice. And I'll just let some time pass and little pregnant pause just kind of sit there because it's funny for most of these suburban white women that are really the ones that are pushing CRT harder than anybody else in the country. They just, there's like this gobsmacked look that comes over their face and they don't know what to say and they're like, well, what am I supposed to do? They think that by arguing about, you know, whether or not they come from
Starting point is 00:02:01 racist white people that they're doing something to actually help people of color, as they would like to call it today. So I, colored people. So I didn't say that. People of color. Colored people suddenly is a bad thing, even though it's the National Association for the Advancement of Colored people.
Starting point is 00:02:18 Now we're supposed to say people of color. But I love to ask them that question and watch their brain kind of explode momentarily and not have anything to say back. And then I say, so you think that I'm fairly conservative. and you probably think I'm pretty narrow-minded in my view of the race issue and probably disagree with you on a bunch of it. But what if what if I could show you something that we do and my listeners do that I'm confident you could do that would make a difference? And I get to tell them about the slave liberation project in Sudan. And I actually literally turn these hate-oriented arguments into an opportunity to not only radically change their mind, but show them something that's being done.
Starting point is 00:03:01 And we've talked about it on your show before, Eric, but here in the summertime, it is not any less important to remember that after the Sudanese Civil War came to an end, there were hundreds of thousands of South Sudanese Christian women and children that had been taken into slavery and that were being held captive in Northern Sudan. And when the world powers that helped govern the end of the Sudanese Civil War decided to split it into two countries, they didn't do anything to address the plight of the slaves in Northern Sudan. And think about that. Think about what you just said. I want my audience to think how astonishing there was a gruesome civil war in the Sudan. And when the powers that be were able to end it, they said, oh, as part of the deal, we're not going to do anything about the slaves. Ladies and gentlemen, slaves in 2021, slaves. They're there today. We could do something about it. I mean, Kevin, it seems like this can't be happening. today, but it's happening right now. That's true. And while Christian Solidarity International from the very beginning was involved in their liberation and the abolition of slavery from the North, they have not been joined by any other people. In fact, it's just been everyday folks like you and I that have come alongside and said, hey, I'd like to help. I'd like to help. I'd like to help. And I know that in the last year, Eric, I believe between the combined radio shows, not just yours
Starting point is 00:04:28 in mind, but other ones that banned together to help, there were more than a thousand slaves liberated, but that still leaves about 35,000 of the original 185,000 that were there still in captivity in the north. So this is a really simple program, people. It's not complicated at all. What you do is you make a gift to CSI, Christian Solidarity International. They have an operational kind of underground railroad, Arab retrievers, people that are not Christian, but that want to have, good relationship with the Christian Sudanese in the South. They go up into the north. They scout out where slaves are still being held.
Starting point is 00:05:06 They engage the slave masters towards the liberation of those slaves. Once they have that liberation agreed upon, they are able to bring those slaves back to South Sudan to their home. Many times they were taken as children, they've been gone for a decade or more. Sometimes they don't know where they came from. So there's a lot of kind of deconstructing that they have to do. They get to recuperate in a camp setting, a kind of a restoration retreat for a period of time. They get medical treatment. They get psychological treatment.
Starting point is 00:05:34 There are other things that they're given. And then your gift for $250, and this is probably the biggest portion of the gift, gives them a new life. Now, what does it give them? It gives them a thing called the bag of hope. And inside this thing that's much larger than just a little sack, you've got tarps that they can create tenting and structures to live in. They've got tools to garden and to fish with. They've got the ability to have eating utensils, a Bible, blankets, other things that they need to just survive. They'll get a year's worth of sorghum grain that will keep them sustained for the coming year.
Starting point is 00:06:10 They have another year's worth of seed for sorghum grain that they can plant and grow future crops of that. And then on top of all of that, they're given a she goat that they can use to create microenterprise. They can get a goat, a she goat. He's a she goat. I mean, I didn't. I forgot that. So the money that we give to CSI, and by the way, folks, you can just go to metaxisotestalkystok.com. Metaxistalks talk.com right at the top, you'll see the banner and all the information is there.
Starting point is 00:06:37 But I didn't realize, Kevin, that you're getting somebody out of slavery, which ladies and gentlemen, I can't even tell you, think about that for a second. Your money can do that. But then it sets them up in life. They literally get a go, which sounds funny to us. but imagine it changes the life of somebody in that world to have a goat to provide milk and cheese. I mean, it's an amazing thing. Eric, you're talking about women that have been brutally raped, sexually assaulted, brutally, brutally, brutally beaten, brutally treated, emotionally spoken to, given long hours of work,
Starting point is 00:07:12 nothing to eat but scraps that fall off the table. They don't even own more than usually one change of clothes of any sort. And then to receive this gift called the bag of hope, which has got to be, the biggest single gift they've ever received in their life, it blows them away. They can't believe it. They need some time to actually kind of take it in because they're like, how can this just be for me? But the beautiful thing about this is that it really does give them that launch pad to start
Starting point is 00:07:38 their life back in their village where they came from. Now, let me just talk to you about that for a second, because once they've had their time of recovery, CSI ceased to it that they get as close to where they originally grew up or new people or what their village was to begin with his possible. And when they come home, when they come home, the whole village, the pastor of the church, the leaders of the village, they come out, they throw this celebration. It is like the prodigal son on steroids when the when the lost slave returns home to its, to its home people, its tribe, its, it's hometown. There is celebration. They have a feast that goes on for days. They give thanks to
Starting point is 00:08:20 God. These people are Christians. There are brothers. and sisters, and they are so rejoicing at the sight of their loved one that they believe they would never see again. And that's what your gift provides. Not only liberation from a negative life, liberation from an evil existence that has continually exploited them, but they are given a ticket to new life and a life of love and fellowship and a true engagement with people that have their very best at heart. It is unlike anything I've ever seen anywhere else, and I will, I will advocate for them until God takes the breath from my lungs because I still believe in what they're doing. You know, folks, go to Metaxistalk.com.
Starting point is 00:08:59 This past weekend, I was with my brother-in-law, Drew Murnes. He said to me that he and his family went on a mission trip about 15 years ago in Africa. And when he was leaving, he gave 40 bucks to this young guy, high school student, just as a parting gift. He says that 40 bucks, he found out, which is nothing to us, changed that family forever. they were able to buy a goat and he says it just made them completely to have different stature. And folks, do you understand what a little bit you give can totally, totally change lives? I want people to know that, to hear it, be encouraged. Go to metaxis talk.com.
Starting point is 00:09:39 Give whatever you can. We need it. We need to do this. We need to give to people that are struggling. Kevin, my friend, thank you so much. Thank you, Eric. Hey there, folks. How many years have I been telling you about relief factor? What, like four? The truth is, I know there are millions of people. In fact, some say over 100 million people struggling with some kind of pain, maybe from exercise, just getting older. That could do it, getting older, which is why I am so impressed with Pete and Seth Talbot. They are on a mission. You rarely see this kind of focus and commitment. Seriously, they recently shared with me that they are doubling down and want to literally double their total number of happy customers in the next year. And I believe they'll do it. So here's the deal. If you're struggling with back, neck, shoulder, hip, or knee pain, even general muscle, aches and pains,
Starting point is 00:10:34 then I'm suggesting you order their three-week quick start, still discounted to only 1995, about a dollar a day to see if we can get you out of pain too. And then after that, less than the cost of a cup of coffee, a day to stay at a pain. Go to relieffactor.com, relieffactor.com or call 800, 500, 8384. Relieffactor.com. 800, 500, 8384. I use it. It works.
Starting point is 00:10:59 it out. Hey, their friends, Eric Mettaxas here. Joe Biden and the Democrats have laid out the most socialist agenda our country has ever seen. Instead of following President Trump's blueprint that had the economy booming, the Dems are going to raise taxes, increase regulations, and skyrocket and already outrageous national debt. Mickey, we can talk in so many different directions.
Starting point is 00:12:18 One of the things you were saying was that so many people have been praying in the last year or two. I know that, right? Like, there are lots of people who have praying for the nation. So I don't believe God is removing his blessing. I believe he's allowing us to go through this season for. for our own good, so to speak, and that he is going to bless. There's going to be revival. I don't know that, but I believe that.
Starting point is 00:12:44 I think that that's what I'm discerning from what I see. Well, in Daniel chapter 11, the entire Daniel is amazing seer, you know. Yeah. And verse 32, it says, but they don't know half of it says, but they don't know God shall be strong. I'll translate it and do exploits. There's actually no Hebrew for it. It's more like take action. If the next step is for us to take action, I think that's where we're at.
Starting point is 00:13:11 We have to preach the gospel. We've got to reach out to people and not wait for them to come in. In the vision of the temple, Jeremiah, the vision, and they measured a thousand cubits as well, the river flows out of the temple, not into it. So I'm not saying leave church, but I'm saying we've got to touch intentionally reach out to people. That's why I've been doing this all along anyway. And this was part of really the Jesus movement. It was about inviting people to have an encounter with the Lord, not being afraid, not being worried about offending.
Starting point is 00:13:43 God will give you the right words. He'll give you the right things. I do this all the, I mean, I get to speak to people. I'm so happy. I'm a preacher, a teacher, you name it. But it's the surprise one-on-ones that are the real big events. The Lord sets you up. He brings people in your supernatural crosshairs.
Starting point is 00:14:01 But the very least you can do is bless that person. give them something and God will give a bit of knowledge, ask them how they're doing, you can pray for them. I just seen the most amazing things happen. They can only be accredited to God, but you're involved. So if there's anything, the church needs to do what's next take action, intentionally make plans to impact people. Cheyhan, our dear friend, I've known since a long time, done stuff for 35 years with him. He was always, he came during the Jesus movement. It was always about evangelism and signs and wonders and reaching people. And I've known his evolution in this, in this book, supernatural courage.
Starting point is 00:14:34 This kind of courage, it only takes a certain kind of courage and body mass to jump out of an airplane. It takes a certain amount of courage to be good at something that you're good at. But God doesn't call you, he calls you to do what you can't do without him. You've had to entertain courage. I don't have to know all the details. You've had to face adversity, entertain courage, use your courage to take every next step. And I think that the church right now needs to be.
Starting point is 00:15:03 needs to get some guts. To exercise their guts. The church right now needs to get some guts. Let me put it that. I'm not, I don't want to cast asparagus on our churches. Uh-huh. Because the Lord's the only one that can really judge them.
Starting point is 00:15:15 Right. But we've got what people need. We've got it. If God can take me, if I'm an example of God taking nothing and doing something with it, then I'm not afraid to admit it. He can take literally nothing. How could he,
Starting point is 00:15:29 it's almost like it's funny. He's the most unqualified. disadvantaged person to be effective. And it works. And I don't have to, you know, be a victim and all that. I mean, people don't feel sorry for me after they get to know me. They don't feel. I'll tell you what I hear, Eric, a lot of times when people get impacted,
Starting point is 00:15:50 all my scars are on the inside. So there are people that are together, but they still need help. And people, the church needs the power. Sometimes they're afraid to ask. So what do you mean? Okay, so the new book then is called Supernatural Courage, activating spiritual bravery to win today's battle. So unpack that.
Starting point is 00:16:12 Well, and there's 11 chapters. First one's courage to be humble, courage to follow, because it's not just stand up and make a decision. It's walking with God. Paul writes, he says, as you receive Christ, so walk in him. We don't start doing it because we become good at it.
Starting point is 00:16:28 We're still as dependent, but we're bold and taking those steps. not just for a moment, but for every day of our life. And there's courage to be humble. There's courage to fight, courage to strengthen yourself, courage to person. And I use different people as an on-ramp in each chapter. Some of them I know very much personally, some of them are historical. But it's very real stuff.
Starting point is 00:16:48 And it ends, you know, I want to inspire people. I want to equip them and I want to activate them and give them a gentle push to take action. It's interesting. I mean, the church is very divided these days. It's a strange time. but I really do see a remnant that is, as you put it, contending. They're not afraid to stand up.
Starting point is 00:17:12 They're not afraid to stand up to whether it's the social justice warriors or the, you know, the big state or big tech or big pharma. They're speaking out. And I try on the program just to be a little bit. encouraging to them to say continue to speak out because if you don't speak out, it won't go well. We have to be bold. We have to speak the truth and just trust God with the results. Don't be fearful. You talked about the church being divided.
Starting point is 00:17:45 That's true. You get on certain topics. The one place we're probably very united is an area of prayer and worship. Yeah. Because now we're singing songs that before you would only sing out of the hymnal or you'd sing a song of your denomination. and you say now it's contemporary Christian radio. They're all doing it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:01 They're all. So we're worshipping the Lord. And a lot of it is very spiritually inspired writers that are doing this. Prophetic music, actually. Oh, yeah. And then, but the prayer movement that we've experienced in the last several years has been intense. It's been intentional. And it's been consistent.
Starting point is 00:18:17 I don't know. You know, again, and it's not just the people that quote that I run with because I get to cross over. I've gotten to cross over a lot of different types of people. And, you know, I've been on some, secular media too, a Fox, ABC. I was part of a special on the history channel. I know I was partly dead.
Starting point is 00:18:33 I didn't think I was that historic, but I got to people that would never, never turn on this show or walk into a church or go to a conference. And then it was all in different languages. I've, you know, I had some, I'll just take you one little story. Of course.
Starting point is 00:18:45 I was getting this email from some guy with a funny name in Italy. He says, I want you to come to my Pilates gymnasium and do evangelism. I'm thinking, okay. Wait, wait, wait, in Italy, he wants you to come to his Pilates gymnasium. in Italy and do evangelism.
Starting point is 00:18:59 I'm thinking this is a good hearty guy. Now, I've been to Italy, and I don't know how he heard about me, but he had a funny name. So I don't, you know, I would go anywhere for anybody. I'm not trying to say that, blah, blah, you know, bragging. I just, I'm not limited, you know, but I thought this is a good nature guy, but nobody cares about anything down there. And certainly, you know, they don't care about, you know, people don't even go to Catholic, you know, they don't go anywhere.
Starting point is 00:19:21 Yeah. But then I found out this guy was legit. And so I was going to Italy and I said, I'd do a weekend this guy. So he's going to do Friday night, Saturday morning, Saturday morning, Sunday morning, and Sunday night. That's going to fly in and then I'm going to go up to Florence, Italy, and do some regular meetings and do some stuff. So I don't know this guy is going to go to his gym. He doesn't even call it a Christian meeting. He calls it, called it Christian meditation.
Starting point is 00:19:44 There's no music. It's just set up wooden chairs and it's pretty nice wooden. What part of Italy? Southern Italy, Ghana kind of in the boot heel called Barrier, right on the coast. Like near Brindisi? No. Barre is just kind of near the boot heel. off the desk, I decided to see, nice Mediterranean town.
Starting point is 00:19:59 And so these people come in. You know, there's no prayer. There's no introduction. It's just, I'm sharing my story. He's translating an Italian. For like an hour, you're dismissed. Then it's Saturday morning, same thing. Another crowd, people filling up in there, you're dismissed.
Starting point is 00:20:15 Saturday night, the same, he said, Sunday morning is going to be the most secular crowd. But they were crying. And I didn't do it. So Sunday and I said, look, the guy's name was Renal. he got saved in Borneo and got in Operation Mobilization and was doing stuff in Italy and then his wife divorced him and you can't be divorced and be a minister.
Starting point is 00:20:37 So he reinvented himself and did this gym and he was good at it. Real disciplined guy. So he's doing this gym and he felt grieved. All these people want to get a six-pack or eight-pack but they're all going to die lost. So he wants me to come and do evangelism. I said, look, I said, Rennell, you've done this three times.
Starting point is 00:20:52 You share my 15 minutes of my text. testimony in Italian. I trust you. And then I'm going to preach. So he did 15 minutes. There's places full of people. They're all like this, you know. And he does it 15 minutes. So then I did the story of of Jesus and John the Baptist disciples. They came. I told it three times. I said, I'm going to give to myself. I'm going to give as hard altar call as I can. Maybe somebody will get in a good mood, you know, these unbelievers. So I give it, I do that three times. I said, I'm not talking about stand up for the Lord and surrendering your life for your whole life to Jesus, all of them stand up and give their heart to Lord.
Starting point is 00:21:27 I'm flabbergasted. Then I have one word of knowledge that somebody's got a bad elbow. You got something wrong with your elbow. This guy had like a tennis ball, a tendonitis. It disappears. So God gives you a word of knowledge tells you that the guy has nothing and it was healed. It was healed instantly. So I said, anybody who is sick or you have a.
Starting point is 00:21:49 Something left over from an accident. You need prayer. Stand up. About 40 of these people stand up. And I said, all you people, you go pray for them. These mature 60-second old believers, every person gets healed. I am flabbergasted at my unbelief.
Starting point is 00:22:09 I didn't think anything was going to happen. What year was this? This was about six years ago. Six years ago. Everybody gets healed? See, like there are people that don't believe in healing. Okay. I didn't believe in it.
Starting point is 00:22:19 But I mean, you're telling me, this guy's happened. This happened. So I am so embarrassed at myself. Everybody was great, you know. I go back to my little room that he got me, this little Mediterranean, nice little hotel room. I'm trying to sleep because I'm going to get a plane and go up to Florence in the morning. I try to go sleep.
Starting point is 00:22:35 I'm counting cracks in the ceiling. I'm looking at little dots. I say, it's not working. So I pick up the remote control. Okay, now, wait. This in show business, this is what we call a cliffhanger. We'll be right back. Prescription dispensing labs is an national.

Hey, their friends, Eric Metax is here. When we left, we were at a cliffhanger. You, Mickey, were just telling us that after these insane miracles, you can't fall asleep.
Starting point is 00:24:23 I couldn't fall asleep because I was so stunned that my faith was so little about going to this place. And so I couldn't sleep. So I hit on. So God had to embarrass you by showing up big time, right? So I hit on, and it comes on. I can tell it. Now, you have to understand.
Starting point is 00:24:38 There's almost nothing in English, okay? Yeah. So it's on a show that's playing the history channel with me sharing my testimony in Italian with English subtitles. You're kidding. Not kidding. I'm not going to lie in front of God. I think you're lying. Albin, is he lying?
Starting point is 00:24:52 No. Look this. Look this up. So wait, wait, wait. So you're in Nowheresville, Italy. You can't sleep. And after this insane outpouring that day, you turn on the TV and you're on the TV giving your testimony with Italian subtitles. From the History Channel.
Starting point is 00:25:09 That was. I didn't even know they did it. You know, from I did it in the United States, but I didn't know they did it in Italian. So it just happened to be on that. I say, okay, I get it. Go everywhere and preach mightily and expect me to show up. I've been that way all along anyway, but this was just another installment of how much God cares for people. So this is God's way of saying to you, which you are now saying to God's people,
Starting point is 00:25:34 go everywhere, preach the gospel, and expect God to show up in signs and wonders. in salvation, signs and wonders, encouragement, transformation. The very least we can do is put a dent in their brokenness or build a bridge that they and Jesus can meet on. The very least we can do. Oh, man. Because, okay, I got some emails after I was on the history channel. And by the way, why are we on the, I don't get it, why are we on the history channel for what?
Starting point is 00:26:03 They were doing a special about hell. About hell? And they went all over the world. They spent millions of dollars. Boy, are they desperate for ratings, Albin. We haven't done a hell week in years. So I was down here at Old St. Patrick's Cathedral, the old St. Patrick's. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:26:15 Like 50 feet from where they did the Godfather Baptist. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And we shot all day, and they were really great. But I was the only one. I mean, they had all kinds of weird stuff on there. But they had me. They only had one other Christian pastor. And he has a church, and every message is about hell.
Starting point is 00:26:33 Now that is one hell of a church. Where's his church? I don't want to say. But every message is about hell. You could say that's a real bummer, but it's also kind of sobering and refreshing. Well, if that, you know, I don't want to judge it, but I got some emails. Of course, I didn't, you know, it wasn't the kind of thing that you're doing any kind of media follow-up on. Some woman sat down with a cup of pills to kill herself.
Starting point is 00:27:01 A whole cup of whatever, sleeping pills, pain pills, whatever, for some reason she puts on the TV. The history channel. It just comes on the history channel. She gets scared. She Googles me. And she doesn't take her life. She gives your life to the Lord.
Starting point is 00:27:15 So she gets scared from the idea of hell, which is a great thing to get scared about. She listens to my whole story like I'm telling you. Because she Googled me and there's other stuff on, okay? And then another one I get this email. My name is blah, blah. I was registered nurse. I just retired. I did, you were my first patient.
Starting point is 00:27:35 I was in intensive care. I cannot believe you are alive. It's just like, here are all these decades later. This woman didn't know what happened. She expected me to be dead. And now I'm more alive than you can explain. And I get enough of a trickle of that to know that
Starting point is 00:27:54 this message of Jesus Christ is the really only hope that is real hope. And he really works. I mean, again, it's all about me by myself, I'm just a person. But me, with Christ in me, the hope of glory. Paul writes it, and I should ask you with the Greek translation. You're not just a mere man, you know? And when he comes out, he comes out.
Starting point is 00:28:24 He can present in a conversation. I want people right now to be experiencing God. I mean, really right now. And then you can pray on your own. You can pray with me, whatever, you can pray with you. we need the Lord, just like the similarity between 1968. You know, we had an election with Jack Kennedy, which it was bullets and not ballots.
Starting point is 00:28:43 With RFK, with Martin Luther King and RFK, it was bullets and not ballots in 1968. We had all kinds of commotion going on. These last couple years, there's so much division, so much. It's like in the Bible with different elements. But whether there is economic factions, spiritual factions, sickness, disease, trouble, tribulation, this is a perfect time for the gospel to be preached with boldness. Now, you know, there are a lot of people listening, I'm guessing, who they think of themselves as Christians, or they believe in God, but they don't do anything about it.
Starting point is 00:29:18 They don't even go to church. They don't read the Bible. They kind of feel like, I believe that's enough. What do you say to somebody like that? Well, maybe they believed in not a full or incomplete message. A lot of the messages sound like it's about getting right so that when you die, when you go to heaven. What are we supposed to do here? I know what I got saved from and I know where I'm going to, but what was I saved for?
Starting point is 00:29:45 And the Lord took this mess, you know, all the king's horses and all the king's men couldn't put Mickey back together again. But God, who was rich in mercy and full of power, reassembled me a different way and made me useful to him. And to me. There are a lot of people that they don't think God made them to experience the miraculous. I figure that's for guys like you or maybe me, but they act as though that's, that's for those religious people. And I think, you know, you and I both want to say, you're wrong. God made you for that.
Starting point is 00:30:18 You're different. So you're going to experience it differently. Nobody experiences both ways, both ways, the same way twice. But you, I just, I always feel like I want to say before we go to the break that for anybody who's listening, God made you for miracles. He made you to experience him one way or the other. It's never going to be, you know, the way you want or whatever.
Starting point is 00:30:39 God is God. But people need to understand that's why you're on the planet. You're not gone yet. You're still here. And God has stuff for you to do here. You don't want to miss it. We'll be right back. Hey there, folks.
Starting point is 00:31:12 I'm talking to Mickey Robinson. Mickey, the new book is Supernatural Courage, activating spiritual bravery. to win today's battle. I remember when I first got saved in 88, and for a number of years after that, being a Christian was the most exciting thing. I couldn't explain it to people. I just thought, this is great.
Starting point is 00:31:32 I'm excited to drive hours to go to church and to worship and whatever, and I think sometimes we kind of settle in to something, and we forget that talking to God or being in any kind of relationship with God who's in control of all the electrons going around the nuclei and the atoms in this table and everywhere in the... I mean, it's insanely exciting and beautiful, and everything we're looking for is in that. And we forget.
Starting point is 00:32:01 And sometimes, like you were saying, we're kind of shy. And there are people that are kind of like, they're almost like apologizing for sharing their faith. And it's like, are you insane? It's like, there's somebody starving. You've got food. And you're like, is it... Are you going to be offended if I give you a sandwich? much like what are we talking about? And maybe we don't believe that what we have is so amazing
Starting point is 00:32:21 because it is. Well, one of the things that you mentioned, the excitement, the fervency, the Apostle Paul talks in the first of the seven churches he mentioned in the book of Revelation as a church's emphasis, which is like a successful church. They got big screens. They're multi-campus. You do all this. You know who apostles, not apostles. But one little pincey thing I got, you forgot your first love. It says, go back to your first works. So it's first love and first works. What's the stuff we did when we're the most excited about Jesus? Yeah. He did everything. He didn't do it. You didn't do it with an ulterior motive. He didn't try to climb the ladder. He did it because you're exploding with the love of God. Paul writes, you know, when he's writing
Starting point is 00:32:56 in Ephesus, he's writing, it sounds like he's pretty upbeat. You know, whether I live or die, he's trying to encourage the Philippians. You know, he's trying to encourage them. He says, don't get bummed out. It's in Philippians. Whether I live or dead, it doesn't matter. If I die, I go be with the Lord. That's great. If not, I stick around here and minister it. I'm okay. He's very upbeat. In 1, 1 Timothy, which, which is he's very upbeat. In 1st Timothy, which is the last thing he writes. He's pretty beat up. I'm Paul.
Starting point is 00:33:17 I'm cold. I'm old. He says, I know I'm going to probably die pretty soon. Okay, so he was upbeat, but now he's beat up. He's not in a house arrest in Rome. He's in a dungeon. But you just said that in an interesting way. He was upbeat.
Starting point is 00:33:31 Now he's beat up. So go ahead. But first exhortation, and I've numbered at least 19 straight exhortationer commands, he writes in these four chapters in Timothy. It's the last thing that he writes. The first thing he says, we always remember the one God did not give us a spirit of fear
Starting point is 00:33:47 but of love power and some mind the verse before that is stir up the gift that is in you that I know is in you because I laid hands on you and you got filled with the Holy Spirit things in this life have a tendency to wear down if there's a strategy from the enemy he's it will just keep grinding
Starting point is 00:34:01 on them until they lose momentum until they get tired or they just this is okay just now things we have to some translations say fan into flame kindle afresh it's like firewood you know and it burns down night it looks like there's a great art but you know they throw some kin again it'll flare back up again we need to fan into flame the gift of the holy spirit we need to be first love the passion for
Starting point is 00:34:24 jesus and we need to do the stuff the first things he told us to do what do he say disciples preach the gospel heal the sick raise the dead bind up the brokenhearted go for it he said he says is the father sent me so signed i you that's not just for a few people on face book. It's for every one of us. He sends us with the same love, the power, and the authority. The authority. You're an ambassador for Jesus. When an ambassador goes, that ground, if you're an ambassador of the United States, that ground at that embassy is the United States of America. If you're in a car and you've got flags on there, you have the authority of the one who sent you. Every one of us needs to exercise our heavenly passport right here on earth.
Starting point is 00:35:10 Okay. You know, I agree with you. This is a... is just powerful stuff. Final questions while we're here. You know, you've been to heaven. You can't say that about everyone. You've been to heaven. You've seen hell in a way. I think it was the outer darkness.
Starting point is 00:35:29 Yeah, but I mean, it sounds horrifying even hearing you describe it 50-something years later. Do you ever in the natural fear, death, how do you feel about death going, leaving this world? I don't, well, I'm not, you know, 29 anymore. But I live, and I'm currently focused.
Starting point is 00:35:50 It's not that I'm evading it. I'm thinking about living. Obviously, my wife faced, I told you this, in the break, she was blindsided with stage four cancer a year and three quarters ago. And we had to contend for it. She is completely healed. And this was in the face, in your face. I had to focus in a different way.
Starting point is 00:36:07 It wasn't about me, but things hit me like, this could be our last Christmas together. it's going to be your last birthday. And you can't let those things nest in you. You've got to stay focused. So as far as fearing death, I want to finish well. I'm not, you know, I've done a lot. And I hope, you know, I want to hear well done, good, and faithful servant.
Starting point is 00:36:27 I'm pretty sure. I am sure I'm going to hear that. But there's blank spaces of ways that when a person loses their passion and thinks, is, okay, things begin to wear down. It's just not engaging. Of course, it's not about rewards, but there is something. people are going to get white robes because of the righteous acts of the saints. When it talks about rewards, it's not from dead works,
Starting point is 00:36:47 that's religious beliefs that you think you're going to earn something. It's doing this stuff that Jesus sent us to do. This, what you're doing is the stuff Jesus created you for. This is why you're built and wired the certain way. It's why your talents and experience have been transformed. It took courage for you. Hey, you could have done other things after university. You could have done other things.
Starting point is 00:37:08 You could have landed in different places. places and more comfortable or whatever. And I think, I believe, I'm saying this by my own heart, I believe by the Spirit of God, God wants to extend your influence. Oh, I believe that. I think that God's calling on my life that he, that he, because I think of so many people that they're hearing nothing of what we talk about. I want to reach those people.
Starting point is 00:37:31 Yeah. I want a platform where those people are going to get to just be exposed to what we know, you know. It's interesting. God, he just takes a sliver of openness to bring better stuff in there. Yeah. You know, and one of the things that are about being humble is, it's in the third chapter, courage, to be humble.
Starting point is 00:37:51 When you're open, that's when love can come in and out. When you're protective or you're self-caught, you're so self-assured about everything, you know, that's when you get, you kind of, you get limited. And I think some people either they're cautious or they're afraid or they don't want to do too much. You know, take too much of a risk and a chance. I'm not talking about reckless.
Starting point is 00:38:11 I mean, I was reckless. If I'm going to be reckless than anything, I'd rather be reckless in the Lord. Not reckless. I want to have a reckless love with God. Yeah. Wow. Well, we're out of time. But just the idea that you've been to the other side and you understand God sent you back for his purposes.
Starting point is 00:38:29 And he's going to take you when he takes you. He's going to take me. We're all going to be here. We're only here temporarily. So we need to think about why we're here and enjoy the job. God has given us. There's nothing better. Mickey Robinson, a joy, my friend, to be with you. The book is supernatural courage. Thank you. Thank you. The guests we get on this program, I don't know. I don't know how we do it. I don't know how we do it. Hey, I got to just say something. Yes.
Starting point is 00:39:18 We've got to tell people again and again and again yesterday. We were completely forever knocked off of YouTube. That's right. And folks, I've been looking into this. This is Maoist, Soviet style intimidation. It is wrong on every level. And if you think you're going to silence me, let me tell you something. If you knew who my parents were, no, I don't think it's going to happen.
Starting point is 00:39:43 Good luck. Keep trying. But in America, we have to speak up, and especially when they try to silence you. We have had the most wonderful guests, and we put it on YouTube. They're all gone. You have to go to Rumble, even better. And I'm begging.
Starting point is 00:40:01 you folks. I'm just begging you. Go to my website, ericmataxis.com. Please sign up for the newsletter. Please, please, please, please, because there's no way to get all the information out to you that we want to get out to you. So just sign up for it. You'll see what I mean. Right. And you can still hear the guest at metaxis talk.com. We've got the whole podcast there. Obviously. But if you want to see it, and I know so many of you want to see, for example, what are we wearing today? If you're not watching the video, you can't see what we're wearing. And we could tell you anything. I am wearing a union suit.
Starting point is 00:40:33 Love it. And I'm smoking a corn cob pipe. And I have not had a haircut in six weeks. I'm looking like a bald, shaggy dog right now. I was going to say, my hair is started to thin, and I want to know, Alvin, what's your secret? Well, I just let it go, brother. You just let it go. Okay, we got to mention two things real quick before we go to the next guest.
Starting point is 00:40:51 A lot of people know that Father's Day is coming up. Folks, Father's Day is coming up. I don't expect any big gift. No. But it wouldn't hurt. But here's the issue. Father's Day. We have a film on SalemNow.com.
Starting point is 00:41:07 Now people should be going to SalemNow.com anyway because there's a lot of great programming there. But Salem Now.com, there's a new film coming out called The Streets Were My Father. You can tell it's kind of a dark story. But it ends very, very wonderfully. It's an inspirational film about, well, I mean, I guess you have to be honest. If you didn't have a father, Father's Day might really. be a hurtful day, might be a difficult day for you. And so this film deals with three men from the urban community, two Hispanics, one black. And I got to tell you the story of their lives
Starting point is 00:41:42 of not having a father and what happened to them. And this is a fact, 85% of youths in prison. 85% of youths in prison come from homes without a father. If you don't realize that that is the problem in America right now, you're not paying attention. That is one of the most overwhelming statistics conceivable. So the film is called The Streets for My Father. Go to salemnown.com, Salem now.com. Once a year, we have a program with Christian Solidarity International. They are literally freeing slaves in Sudan. It seems satanic and unthinkable that slavery exists in 2021. Ladies and gentlemen, apart from you giving, it does. In other words, right now, you could give $250 to CSI, go to metaxistalk.com, and you can literally free a slave, and the money doesn't
Starting point is 00:42:35 only pay to make that happen, but it sets them up in a new life. It's an astonishing thing that they get, how far American money goes in Africa. It is astonishing. But in Sudan, they still have slaves. These Muslim slave traders, they believe in slavery. They don't have a theological issue with it, as Christians do, but didn't always, obviously. So we want you to go to our website metaxistalk.com, Metaxistalk.com, Metaxistock.com. Check out the banner, CSI. Or call the phone number, which is 888-253-3522. Let me spell that out. 888-253-3522. Whatever you give folks, there's nothing more important than using the money that we have, which is a lot, to give it to a cause, like this. You're literally freeing slaves. We'll tell you more about that on this program.
Starting point is 00:43:31 How much time do we have left? That's it. We're at a time. Yeah. Okay, folks, please do that. You've got a couple of assignments. No kidding. Go to Ericmataxis.com. Sign up for the newsletter. Please, we need your help. And please go to Metaxistalks. Talk.com and do what you can for CSI. God bless you.
