Starting point is 00:00:00 Folks, welcome to the Eric Mattaxas show, sponsored by Legacy Precious Metals. There's never been a better time to invest in precious metals. Visit legacy p.m. Investments.com. That's legacy pm. Investments.com. Taxis show with your host, Eric Mettaxas. Hey, folks, welcome back. Oh, my gosh, Albin. Yes. What's the shirt you're wearing? What is that? Oh, the shirt. Now, I know a few people are watching on radio, you can't see it. So it says, best uncle ever. and my niece that gave it to me, she said it was the only one in the world.
Starting point is 00:00:45 And the guy that sold it to her said, it can only be given to the best uncle. And she said, well, my uncle is Uncle Elbin. And he said, okay, you get the shirt. And so I got the shirt. Best uncle ever. That's me. I have to say it's so emphatic. It doesn't just say best uncle ever.
Starting point is 00:01:02 It says best period, uncle period, ever, period. It's so emphatic that in my mind, I have to say I doubt it. It feels it's like gilding the lily, methinks thou dost exclaim and punctuate too much, Halban. Well, it doesn't have explanation points. Best, beho, uncle behoe, ever, beho. I like the beho. I like that. I like that.
Starting point is 00:01:30 Well, look, we, so there's no place to buy that shirt. You have the only one. I have the only one. But if people want to buy products affiliated, for example, with this program, Where would they go? Well, they could go to shop metaxus, or they could go to my store.com, and they can get the poster of Bonho. The Bonhofer poster is amazing. Yeah, you've got to go to that.
Starting point is 00:01:54 You know what? Why don't I have one framed here in this, in the home office? I framed. I framed Mike Lindell. He's behind me right now. I framed him. We're not ashamed of our sponsors, ladies and gentlemen. and we are so proud of them.
Starting point is 00:02:11 Mike is such a hero. And more and more information is going to be coming out with regard to what he's doing. But what a hero. He gets trashed in the news. He gets trashed even on some conservative media outlets or ignored. We love him. And I know a lot of what he's doing behind the scenes.
Starting point is 00:02:32 And it just takes time and money. So please support him by going to mypillow.com. Use the code Eric. or go to my store.com, use the code Eric. Now, if you go to my store.com, you can get copies of a constitution and the Declaration of Independence that are so realistic you may feel 250 years old when you read them. It can happen. I believe it can happen.
Starting point is 00:02:59 So that's why you want to take Neutermetics. Go to Neutermetics.com. Use the code Eric, because you need to keep your health up. Because when you get a document like that and makes you feel ancient and withered, You need your immune system to be boosted. Okay, I think I've just gone crazy. All right, I do want to say this. I do want to say, seriously, the mypillow.com and my store.com stuff is there,
Starting point is 00:03:25 and you want to use the code Eric. But my pillow, they keep putting on new products, but my store.com, they're completely revamping this. If you click on a tab that says books, almost all of my books, come up. So if you don't want to patronize one of these other places, use the code Eric. Some of them, you get a very, very good deal. The Donald of Caveman books, they have, if you get all three, it's an amazing deal. I just want to be clear that almost all of my stuff is there, but not the new book. Not is atheism dead. And that has been discounted really dramatically at Christian book distributors, at Amazon. A lot of these places have discounted. Is
Starting point is 00:04:09 atheism dead because it's a bestseller. When something becomes a best seller, for some reason, they drop the price. I don't understand that, but that's what they do. So I just want to be clear, is atheism dead? The price has never been better. It may be a best seller, but it's not the best uncle ever. Yeah, that's very clear. It's not the best uncle ever. But I wanted to mention those things. Now, we should have said it at the beginning of this segment. Penny Nance is my guess. in this hour. Penny Nance, I've known Penny and her husband Will literally 23 years since, my goodness, Suzanne and I were just married. Anneros wasn't even born yet when I met Penny and Will. Will was working for Chuck Colson and I had just begun to work for Chuck Colson. This would be what,
Starting point is 00:05:09 I was starting to work for Chuck Colson. And I met Penny, and they are just a heroic couple, and she leads up concerned women for America. And I don't want to spoil what she's going to talk about. But women are under attack today. I mean, did we just see the man with the who calls himself Rachel, who is like, in the military. I mean, it sounds like we're making this up. It sounds like we've descended into just utter lunacy,
Starting point is 00:05:45 like Caligula style, you know. It's just like, are things that crazy? Yes, evidently they're that crazy. So we have on guests like Penny Nats to kind of remind you of the basics and to help you understand what is going on. I wanted to mention my schedule again, Albin. Yes. people keep sending us emails.
Starting point is 00:06:10 Where are you going to be speaking, Eric? And oh, I missed you. You were in such and such. Folks, please go to my website, Ericmetaxis.com. My schedule is there. But I want to say, we want you to sign up for the newsletter because I periodically send out where I will be speaking. I can tell you now, I'm going to be all over the map soon. I'm going to be in Minneapolis.
Starting point is 00:06:33 I'm going to be in San Jose, California. I'm going to be in San Diego. I'm going to be in Alaska, Anchorage, Alaska. I'm going to be in Colorado Springs. I'm just all over the place. Some of these things haven't been finalized yet. But if you want to know where I'm going to be, because I love, love, love, love meeting folks out there on the road. I always stay late, sign books, get photos with people.
Starting point is 00:06:59 I love it. It just really blesses me. But you need to know about it. And you need to tell your friends who maybe. in the area, even if you're not in the area. We're going to be in Chad's Ford, Pennsylvania and Glenn Mills, Pennsylvania in about six weeks because we're rebooting Socrates in the city. We're going to do that.
Starting point is 00:07:21 Since everything's changed in New York, we're going to be doing Socrates in the city events in New York. So there's a lot of stuff that we can't really communicate very easily with you. So we simply need you. I mean, it'll save you a lot of trouble if you simply go to Ericmataxis.com, sign up for the newsletter. I don't know why some people don't do that. But I feel like you're going to miss more and more stuff. And I've been saying this lately.
Starting point is 00:07:50 There are a number of things that I actually cannot talk about on the radio program that I want to communicate. But it would be sort of unseemly or downright illegal for me to talk about it on this program. So the only way I can communicate with you is that Eric Mattaxas, dot com. So you you need to sign up for that newsletter there. Once or twice a week, we send out videos of everything we do. You could see what Albin and I are wearing right now. You could see the shirt that Albin is wearing that he's been talking about. Best Uncle ever shirt. Yeah. You could see it with your own eyes or you could take our word for it. But why take our word for it? We could be lying. You want to see the video. By the way, I got to remind my 20 Eskimo friends that
Starting point is 00:08:34 you're coming up to Alaska. I forgot all about them. I think the term Eskimo is now politically incorrect. So we want to go out of our way to use the word Eskimo. I prefer the older French spelling. It ends in Q-U-E-A-U-X. Eskimo, actually, M-E-A-U-X. It's just, yeah, I just want to mention that. But in Alaska, I'm hoping to see a glacier or two. Don't forget. But it is important. Actually, before we go on the break here, we've got to get real serious. We are doing a Food for the Poor fundraiser.
Starting point is 00:09:14 If you haven't yet participated, please today, today, today. Food for the poor, you go to metaxis talk.com. Click on the banner. Everybody has to do this. So you might as well just do it. The phone number, if you prefer to call to give, is 844-8663. 44-863 hope. But I say this, ladies and gentlemen, we do not partner with people lightly.
Starting point is 00:09:39 We really vet these organizations. Food for the Poor is feeding starving children in our hemisphere. If you can imagine that's the case, in our hemisphere. So please go to metaxis talk.com. Do participate. We'll be back with Penny Nance. For so long now. Oh, you're going.
Starting point is 00:10:02 a hard one. But I know that you've got your reasons. These things that are please. Hey, folks, I've got to tell you a secret about relief factor that the father, son, son, owners, Pete and Seth Talbot have never made a big deal about, but I think it is a big deal. I really do. They sell the three-week quick start pack for just 1995 to anyone struggling from pain, like
Starting point is 00:10:27 neck, shoulder, back, hip, or knee pain, 1995, about a dollar a day. But what they haven't broadcasted much is that every time they sell a three-week quick start, they lose money. In fact, they don't even break even until about four to five months after. If you keep ordering it, friends, that's huge. People don't keep ordering relief factor month after month if it doesn't work. So, yes, Pete and Seth are literally on a mission to help as many people as possible deal with their pain. They really do put their money where their mouths are.
Starting point is 00:10:54 So if you're in pain from exercise or even just getting older, or to the three-week quick start for 1995. Let's see if we can get you out of pain too. go to Relieffactor.com, Relieffactor.com, or call 800, 500, 8384, 800, 500, 8384, Relieffactor.com. I use it. It works. Hey, folks, if you could make money off of abortion or pornography, would you do it? I hope the answer is no.
Starting point is 00:11:17 But I want to tell you, Robert Netsley, the founder of InspireInsight.com, he was the president of his local pro-life pregnancy center when he discovered that he owned investments in three companies manufacturing abortion. drugs. Well, God helped him to see that he was making money from abortion, pornography, LGBT activism, and the list goes on. And that's why he created Inspireinsight.com. Inspireinsight.com gives you instant access to biblical values data on over 23,000 stocks, mutual funds, and ETFs so you can invest to the glory of God. You need to go to InspireInsight.com today and screen your 401k's IRAs and other investment accounts. I did, and I was shocked.
Starting point is 00:12:01 Now I'm able to clean out the junk and invest in companies actually doing good things. Go to inspireinsight.com today and register for free. That's inspireinsight.com. Go there. We used to laugh. We used to cry. We used to bow. Hey, folks, welcome back.
Starting point is 00:12:23 I have, as my guest right now, a longtime friend, Penny Nance. She is the president and CEO of Concerned Women for America. Penny, welcome. Oh, it's great to be on with you, Eric. Thanks for having me back. I was just telling the folks here, like I've known you since before my daughter was born. So that adds up to probably close to 23 years. Amazing. Yes, yes. You, how long have you been?
Starting point is 00:12:51 And my children were grateful for your children's books when they were little, when they were babies and you were working for Colson. I was, yeah, I've written so many children. I've written over 30 children's books now. I actually forgot about that part of my, my, my, life, but I've written so many children's books. But here we are, and we are now, we're living through such strange times. It's the kind of thing that somebody like Chuck Colson would have brought up about the future. This is where we're headed if we don't do this or don't do that. Here we are now living in a world where someone like you writes an article about the madness going on, in this case, in women's sports.
Starting point is 00:13:34 So where does the article appear that you wrote called Young Women Left Behind Again? Well, it'll be on our website at Concernedwomen.org and in another very sundry places. But the bottom line is that there is a disease that is impacting our young women around this country, young men too, but the vast majority of people who are dealing with this, and I think it's a contagion, honestly, are young women who feel that they're at the edges of society. And yeah, you're right. Chuck Colson talked about, you know, post-Christian America,
Starting point is 00:14:19 and he talked about the dangers of us ignoring that there is absolute truth in this world, that God's truth is ultimate and real and only one. truth. And at the end of the day, there's fallout and chaos if you don't recognize that fact. And we have gotten to the point where we are in contradiction of the material world. And we've created this world and there's been, you know, this online effort and propaganda that has said to young women, you know what? And just small children, by the way. Just because you're a born and woman, you may not be. In fact, maybe you're a boy and you just don't know it.
Starting point is 00:15:08 And you need to consider that. And by the way, Planned Parenthood will give you hormones, enable you to transition and now you're a man. And in this case, what we were talking about is women's sports. And there's, of course, fall back, there's fallout to this for the young women and young men, but also to others who are co-opted by the women. this worldview. Well, what's interesting, and we don't really need to get too deeply into it, but if you're really trying to figure this out, and let's say you don't know what you think,
Starting point is 00:15:42 right, when somebody says that, well, the Bible and reality since the beginning of time says that there are two genders, they're male, and female, right? But if you're not sure, and you kind of look at the contemporary landscape and you say, well, I don't know, that person who was born a man believes he's a woman, why can't he be? be. But then the question is, well, if you're born a man and you think you might really be a woman, the question is, why stop there? If I'm defining myself according to what I feel, there's no reason not to say, I think, even though I was born a man, I'm an oak tree, or I think I'm a giraffe, or I think I'm a pile of wood, or I could be anything. And what I find interesting is the dishonest.
Starting point is 00:16:32 in terms of, you know, in other words, if you're going to make the case that a man could really be a woman or a woman could really be a man, you really have to, you really have to make that case honestly, and no one is doing that. They're simply asserting this is true. If you disagree with it, you're a bigot, shut up. It's the same thing, I guess you could say about, you know, if somebody says that men or women are intended for each other, and somebody says, no, no, no, it could also be men and men or women and women. And you'd say, say, okay, if that's true, then why stop there? Why couldn't it be three people or 10 people or a person and an inanimate object? In other words, if we're going to be honest about these questions, because there are people dealing with pain and we want to be able to address the pain that these people are feeling, we have to have an honest conversation. And that's what we're not doing. And it's leading to this kind of stuff where simply disagreeing gets you canceled. So that's to me, kind of if you're trying to read the tea leaves about who's being honest. about this? When people tell you shut up, that's a hint that maybe they're not being honest.
Starting point is 00:17:37 Well, that's right. And, you know, going back, the first time that I ever heard anything about this, and I'm sure it predates when I became aware, but in 1995, as a, you know, 20-something, I was blessed to attend the UN Women's Conference in Beijing, China, of all places. Remember that was the place where Hillary Clinton said women's rights are human rights, human rights or women's rights. And that's true. I would argue with how she would define those rights, including abortion. But I then Senator Tim Wirth, or I guess he was former senator, was heading up the U.S. delegation. And I'd heard that in the documents that the U.S. delegation was supporting this crazy idea that there were, I think at that time, six genders,
Starting point is 00:18:23 that it wasn't sex, man or woman, but there was this range, this fluidity of gender, and that the U.S. delegation had gotten on board with this language at the U.N. In the mid-90s. See, that's astonishing to me, Penny. That's amazing. In the mid-90s already this had read, but, you know, we weren't hearing about it widely.
Starting point is 00:18:45 So, yeah. No, it was, again, it was these, you know, green-eye-shaded activists that were having this conversation. offline at the U.N. no one knew. And so I went up to him to Senator Worth and I said, hey, how many genders are there? And he said, oh, there's definitely six genders. Okay, by the way, now we're saying, I think 64 was the last time I saw. I think that never continues to grow. I mean, there's things that I don't even know what they mean anymore. And so that number continued to grow and the boundaries continue to be pushed. And so I said to him back to Beijing, China,
Starting point is 00:19:22 I was like, what? I'm like, are you kidding me? And, you know, so then we talked about the issue way at CWA, way ahead of other people. And it kind of went silent for a while. But it wasn't gone, it hadn't gone away. You know, in the dark corridors of academia, gender theory was proliferating until finally it came screaming into public worldview. And really, I think what was happening, I just read this piece about a young woman who started questioning identity at even though she'd had nothing before that because she was on Tumblr and she was in this world and it was loving and it was everything the church should be, by the way. She felt like she was marginalized and she was lonely and she had mental health issues and that community loved her and brought her in and made her feel important and made her feel apart. And then one thing led to another, she started question. Then she went to Planned Parenthood where bad stuff happens and they gave her cross-sex hormones and they almost destroyed her and now she's she's come back but her story is so salient it's so true and what we're hearing repeated over and over again but the other issue is yes you have the left who are saying to parents in Loudoun County and parents across the country when they question the whole
Starting point is 00:20:42 gender identity kind of conversation that's happening as young as kindergarten that they're bigots and they're hateful and how dare they and parents are like no I love my child I I deserve to be able to have this conversation. I deserve to be able to have input. I have authority over my children and what they learn. And what you're seeing is you had sort of this leftist woke movement that has slammed into reality. And the tension of rights has come to the forefront. And really, most stunningly, in the world of sports, where you have men walking into women's playing fields onto their tracks.
Starting point is 00:21:22 into their swimming pools at swim meets and taking their trophy because they're biological men and they're predetermined to win because women are biologically different than men. But we're not supposed to say that. That's the quiet part. We're not supposed to say that. Well, to me, you know, it's in some ways hilarious. Like the very idea that adults are unable to stand up to this madness. I mean, if you have a daughter who's competing,
Starting point is 00:21:51 and then some dude says, excuse me, I'm now no longer a dude and I'm going to compete against your daughter and I'm six foot four and I will crush your daughter and no one can do anything about it. Of course, people can do something about it, but the idea that they're not, that they're allowing this to go on, again, where's the science? It's just madness. I mean, even when you talk about, oh, there are six genders, I mean, this is back in the mid-90s, you want to say, excuse me, what is a gender? Like, what do you even mean by that? Like, they're men and they're women. What are you even talking about? These people don't really know what they're talking about.
Starting point is 00:22:28 And it's like any kind of crackpot science. It's like Nazi science. Like, they basically said... It's junk science. It's crazy. It's ideology masquerading a science, crushing actual science. And we have to stand against it. Folks, I'm talking to Penny Nance, president and CEO of Concerned Women for America.
Starting point is 00:22:49 go to concernedwomen.org. We'll be right back with Penny Nance. In case you haven't been paying attention, the Biden administration has caused a financial crisis, and they have no clue how to fix it. Oil prices have skyrocketed, and when oil prices go up, the cost of transportation and shipping spikes, leading the prices of goods to rise. And when we're already seeing record inflation, that's the last thing we need. Our economy is in trouble, and you need to take steps to protect yourself. If all your money is tied up in stocks, bonds, and tree,
Starting point is 00:23:37 traditional markets, you are vulnerable. Gold is one of the best ways to protect your retirement. No matter what happens, you own your gold. It is real, it is physical, it's always been valuable since the dawn of time. Legacy precious metals is the company I trust for investing in gold. They can help you roll your retirement account into a gold-backed IRA where you still own the physical gold. They can also ship gold and precious metals safely and securely to your house.
Starting point is 00:24:04 Call Legacy at 866-528-190. or visit them online at LegacyPMinvestments.com. Welcome back, folks. I'm talking to my friend Penny Nance, who's the president and CEO of Concerned Women for America. So, Penny, you've written this piece that's talking about, you know, the current madness of this gigantic man who calls himself a woman destroying women in swimming competition. Again, there's a part of me that can't help but find it funny.
Starting point is 00:24:45 It's like, are we kidding? Like, it sort of seems so preposterous. But then I just wonder, what happened to the actual men who are the fathers of these young women who are not standing up to the craziness and saying this is ridiculous, this has to stop? Well, a couple of things. And you're talking about a young man whose name is, he's changed his name from Will Thomas to Leah Thomas. He was a collegiate swimmer for University of Pennsylvania. as a man, the men team, he was ranked at about number 462. He now has taken hormones and has transitioned.
Starting point is 00:25:24 He says that he's a woman and he must compete on the women's teams. And the coaches are like, great, we're going to win. And guess what? He's smoking all the women. He is finishing them a full minute ahead of the other competitors. He goes from number 462 to first. And this week, Eric, he is competing in the NCAA championship at Virginia or excuse me, at Georgia Tech. And he's going to win.
Starting point is 00:25:53 And he's going to break, he's broken the records of women. He's taking their trophies. He's going to be first. And women who are competing against him, even women on his own team have been told, do not speak out. If you speak out, you will be punished. And so we have women who are coming forward to us. By the way, Concern Women for America. I'm breaking news here is getting ready to file a civil rights action against University
Starting point is 00:26:20 of Pennsylvania, the Department of Education, on the behalf of young women whose trophies are being taken. We've already done this with Franklin Pierce and University of Montana because this is a violation of these young women's civil rights, both in sports, but also he is changing in their locker room. I mean, all these colleges that talk about being concerned about women's safety in Title IX are talking out both sides of their mouths because the minute you say you're a woman, you're allowed into a woman's safe space and forget what the women think or care about or how they feel about you being there as a fully biological male. And so this week, this is what's happening.
Starting point is 00:27:03 And the parents and the students don't really know what to do. and the people to blame in this are the universities, the coaches, and the NCAA. That is who, even more than Will Thomas, excuse me, Leah Thomas, who I don't doubt. Let's just call him Bush. I view him compassionately. I think that he is confused, and I do think that he is struggling. But to your point, where do you stop? Because now in universities, not only do we have this happening in sports, we have it,
Starting point is 00:27:36 happening in women's safe spaces in their locker rooms. We have women's prisons where in every state in the country men are being put into women's prisons. Women who incarcerated, you and I both care so deeply about them in that issue, Eric, they can't leave. And now they have men who are rapists and murders that are being put into women's prisons. You have women's safe spaces, domestic violence shelters, where they're fleeing, abuse in men in their lives.
Starting point is 00:28:04 And guess what? But, according to the Violence Against Women Act, men have to be in that space with them. And it's gone so crazy, just kind of setting the stage for you, that literally on college campuses in America, we have young people with mental health issues who claim to be trans species that claim to be foxes. And this is in high schools, too, by the way, as a fox, you cannot, it's bigoted if you tell me I'm not a fox. And when I eat like an animal, you can't say anything.
Starting point is 00:28:36 This I have not heard. I have not heard this. Penny, look. The question is, again, like, let's, you know, let's be agnostic on this issue and say, okay, we're not sure what we think. So make your case. What case can someone make? They're not making any kind of a case. In other words, how do you define anything?
Starting point is 00:28:57 It's just pure subjectivity, which is, I mean, they're not. They're effectively saying, we can do this. You can't stop us. We don't need a reason. We don't have a reason. Reality will not give us a reason. But we don't need a reason. We're just going to do it and go ahead and stop us.
Starting point is 00:29:15 And people don't seem to have the cultural confidence to do anything about it and to say, excuse me, what do you mean? I mean, you said it earlier, and it does need to be said, there are broken people. There are really hurting people. For a man to think he's a woman or a woman to think she's a woman. a man, we do have to have compassion because I can't imagine what would lead you to such a dramatic disconnect with reality, biological reality, but you're not helping somebody by agreeing with their madness. If somebody claims to be Napoleon, you don't say, we're going to change our laws so that you can now be Napoleon. We never said that. So I think this is a snake,
Starting point is 00:29:58 you know, sort of swallowing its own tail. It's destroying itself. We're watching, you know, This so-called Leah Thomas is not breaking records. He is breaking women's sports. He's destroying NCAA sports. That's basically what is happening. And so the question is how far it will go. We've just got 20 seconds here. But can you say when you're filing this lawsuit?
Starting point is 00:30:27 We will be doing it this week in coordination with the NCAA championships. So in the next couple of days. Okay. All right. Well, folks, I'm talking to Penny Nance. You can find her at concernedwomen.org. Concernedwomen.org. This is the Eric Metaxus show.

Starting point is 00:32:21 She's the president and CEO of Concerned Women for America. They are getting behind an initiative that establishes something called Faith Month. Okay, Penny, tell us about that. Well, this goes out to everyone like me who find themselves in Pride Month saying, is Tony the Tiger really like wearing the rainbow flag? Like, you know, in every university, even our embassy. and their places of work, everybody's flying the rainbow flag. And it hit me last June.
Starting point is 00:32:54 Like, why does that bother me? Really, why don't, as Christians, we be as strong advocates for what we believe and for our faith and for Christianity as the LGBTQ community is for what they believe? And so I said, that's it. This April, we're going to start Faith Month. And so it's an initiative that we hope to build every year. year, particularly during Holy Week, we're asking people to fly the Christian flag over their homes. Talk to your employer. If they fly the gay pride flag in June, ask them to fly the
Starting point is 00:33:31 Christian flag when it comes to April. And so I just, we just really strongly believe it in Concern Women for America to let your light shine before men so that it may glorify God the Father. We are not to be ashamed of our faith. And so I think we have to ask ourselves, If we're afraid to fly the Christian flying, if we're afraid to put something up on social media about our Christianity, why? Why are we afraid? We're seeing this idea of people who are non-affiliated Christian, with Christianity or any faith, proliferating throughout our country.
Starting point is 00:34:10 We're looking at the Gallup polls in which church attendance is going down, in which people show no affinity for any faith. I mean, these numbers are growing every single year. And so I think it's important not just to fly the flag, but to have the conversation about what the gospel really means. And use that as a talking point to share your faith. As Christians, we need to stop putting our head down and hoping that no one notices. It is time for us to be very clear about the fact that we serve Jesus Christ, our Savior, who died on the cross. for our sins, who rose from the dead and is the path to redemption. And we need to be very bold
Starting point is 00:34:54 about that. I think it's important to say that the idea of, I was really bothered last year as well when suddenly everywhere I looked, you know, the New York Mets Twitter feed had rainbow colors. I thought, what in the world is going on here? And this is like compelled speech. This is somebody saying, I don't care if you think of yourself as a theologically orthodox, biblically minded Christian, you will shut up during this month and you will post pride colors. And I thought, I can't do that. That's like being asked to, you know, to offer a pinch of incense to Caesar. I cannot do that because you're asking me to celebrate something that I cannot celebrate. I can be civil to people. I can love people with whom I disagree. And I am
Starting point is 00:35:44 commanded by my God to do that. But I'm not commanded to agree with them. And Pride Month seems to me an overreach. In other words, it seems to me a place where essentially our government is doing what the Constitution says it can't do. It is establishing a religion. They don't call it that. But when you are making bold statements about the human person and about sexuality, you're taking a stand that is akin to the establishment of a religion. And so that's been going on. And I think the least we can do is say, no, I won't do that. I will not be, I will not participate in this because, oh, I could lose my job or I could people look at me funny.
Starting point is 00:36:28 I'm a Christian, and I don't believe this is something that needs to be celebrated. I mean, I think we need to start there. but I like the idea of a faith month as well. Don't you think the idea of faith months points that out, right? Because if the answer is, no, we can't fly the Christian flag because no everybody hears Christian, then you say, okay, but not everybody hears gay either. And by the way, if you're Jewish, fly the star of David flag. I mean, I'm for it.
Starting point is 00:36:58 I really, I want more faith, not less faith. And so I just think that it's really important for us to be a strong, advocates for what we believe as the LGBTQ community is for what they believe, which I do believe as a faith. I don't know if you saw the video that Pete Buttigieg's husband, I think his name is Chastin, put out where he was at a kid's camp, and he's doing the, he's leading the children in the Pledge to the Rainbow Flag. And so we put it side by side, and we're going to post this on our website. The Christian flag. A pledge to the Rainbow. flag.
Starting point is 00:37:36 Rumba flag. And you'll get to see it if you come to our website. But the Christian flag says, I pledge allegiance to the Christian flag and to the father for whose kingdom it stands.
Starting point is 00:37:46 One savior crucified, risen and coming again with life and liberty for all who believe. Now, if you watch that just supposed next to the pride pledge, it is almost,
Starting point is 00:37:58 it's the antithesis, almost verbatim, but the antithetical opposite. The opposite. of what it's saying. Well, you have to wonder what people are doing, and it's just so sick to me. In other words, in America, we believe, you can believe what you want, but at some point, you know, you have to deal with the logical results of that. And so the idea that you're not only allowed
Starting point is 00:38:23 to believe these things, but that you're going to force them on others. And some people can force their views on others, and those people can't force their views. They can't even express their views. And so that's what you're doing, obviously. by putting this out there. It's important. I'm glad you're doing it. And you said people can find most of this at concernedwomen.org. Yes.
Starting point is 00:38:46 Come to our website. You'll find out all the information. You can order a Christian flag. I'll have to take down my Ukraine flag that I have up in front of my house and I'm going to have the Christian flag up for Holy Week. And I hope I get to have conversations with my neighbors about why I put that up and what I believe.
Starting point is 00:39:04 Now, a lot of people don't know this. just got 30 seconds left, but there is a Christian flag. I wasn't aware of this. Yes. Yes, there is a Christian flag. It was developed by the United Methodist. Boy, have they come a long way. Back in the 1940s, I believe. I mean, I double checked it. I didn't see any like ugly history associated with it. It's just something that as a young evangelical kid, I went to vacation Bible school and saw it and learned my pledge. And a lot of people have that experience. It's just an opportunity to shine for your neighbors what you believe and emboldened you to have the conversation. And I'm done.
Starting point is 00:39:41 I am done ducking and covering. Not that I really ever did that, but I'm sure there's been times, but all of us should make sure that we're being bold for the case of Christ. Go ye therefore and teach all nations. I could not agree with you. I can't agree with you more. Penny Nance, just a joy to know that you're out there. Folks, check out concernedwomen.org.
Starting point is 00:40:02 Penny, thank you so much. Thank you. Thanks, Eric. Talking to myself and feed Folks, welcome back. Before we let you go for the day, I, no, you can't go yet. I'm sorry, you can't go yet.
Starting point is 00:40:26 The bell hasn't rung, and you're not free to leave your desks. So I need your attention, okay? You have homework to do. Number one, we want to ask you, patronize, Our sponsors, my store.com, my pillow.com, neutrametics.com. Use the code, Eric, and get a whopping discount.
Starting point is 00:40:53 Neutremedics.com, my store.com, my pillow.com. We believe in the people behind these companies. And we believe in the products. And if you're supporting them, you're supporting people. We believe in. You're also supporting us at this radio program. in this time of cancel culture, you can imagine we need your help. So we need to be thoughtful about where you spend your money.
Starting point is 00:41:19 But however you spend your money, you know that you have an obligation, because we all do, to give back to the poorest of the poor and to take our blessings to bless others. So we're doing a campaign in this month. It's been really tough because everybody's focused on Ukraine, which is a whole other issue. But the point is that starvation doesn't go away in places like Guatemala and Honduras. It's real. And I just want to say, folks, it is just about impossible for us to fathom that while we crack our jokes and lead our lives, there are mothers who cannot feed their children who are losing their children to malnutrition and starvation in our own hemisphere. Hard to believe.
Starting point is 00:42:07 But I'm here to tell you it's true. If you don't believe it, I have an audio that I want to play. This is a woman in Guatemala. This is the kind of person that Food for the Poor reaches out to with our money, whatever you give. Metaxistococococon.com is the website. You see the banner that says give life. But this woman, Augustina, lost one of her kids.
Starting point is 00:42:34 This is in Guatemala. This is hard stuff. Let's play the audio. Her daughter's pneumonia worsened in the storms and the flood waters meant they couldn't get to a health center to save her. Now she and her husband are struggling to feed the four children they have left. When my husband earns some money working in the fields, we buy half a kilo of chicken for the children at least.
Starting point is 00:42:57 But when we don't have money, it's just tortillas and salt because we can't buy more. I got to tell you, what reality are we living in that we are so far from that. I mean, it's one of the blessings of being able to do this program is that I can help you to see how blessed we are and how we need to do whatever we can. Now, listen, a lot of folks out there can give the $88.00. You go to Metaxus talk.com, click on the banner. $88 feeds a kid for a year. That is how great food for the poor is. But I know there are many who cannot give that much, whatever you can give folks. I just want to say, please give something.
Starting point is 00:43:40 Get your kids involved. Tell them to give 10% of their allowance, pitch in. Everything you give per month. I mean, times 12, if you want to do it per month, it really adds up. You're actually affecting lives. It's a great way to teach your kids that their responsibilities extend beyond themselves and their immediate surroundings. And it helps them understand how outrageously,
Starting point is 00:44:05 blessed we are, most of us, outrageously blessed. I also want to say there's a phone number, 844-8663, Hope, 844-863 hope. I also want to say there are a lot of you out there that could give a lot more. It's tax deductible. Anybody who gives $10,000 as a gift, I want to thank you by setting up dinner. We can get together for dinner either where you are or if you come to New York now that we can have dinner in New York. But I just want to encourage people to give really generously 844-863 hope. God bless you.
