Starting point is 00:00:00 Folks, welcome to the Eric Mattaxas show, sponsored by Legacy Precious Metals. There's never been a better time to invest in precious metals. Visit legacy p.m.investments.com. That's legacy p.m.investments.com. Welcome to the Eric Mataxis show. They say it's a thin line between love and hate, but we're working every day to thicken that line, or at least to make it a double or triple line. Now here's your line jumping host, Eric Mattaxas.
Starting point is 00:00:38 Hey there, folks. Welcome. It's my privilege to have, as my guest, this hour, someone with whom many of you will be quite familiar. Some of you will not. And those of you who are not, that's why I do this program. I want to introduce you to people I think you maybe should be familiar with. I'm talking about Ray Comfort. He's the founder, CEO of Livingwaters.com, the best-selling author of, More than 90 books, hard to believe but true.
Starting point is 00:01:15 He co-hosts the award-winning TV program, Way of the Master, which airs in almost 200 countries. On and on I could go. Ray Comfort, welcome to this program. I'm so pleased you didn't go on and on. It's, buyers are embarrassing. I should say welcome back to the program. Well, you really have written so many books.
Starting point is 00:01:40 You've been at what you do for a long time. Now, for people who know nothing about you, where did you grow up, and how did you come to the faith and to doing what it is that you do? Let's start there. Well, I was born twice in New Zealand, New Zealand, down under by Australia, had an antenna-written ministry there. And the thing that brought me to faith was the knowledge that I was going to die. I had a Solomon experience.
Starting point is 00:02:05 It was kind of, my life was kind of squeezed up. By the time I was 20 years old, I'd done everything I wanted to do. I had my own business, my own car, my own house, own wife. I'd made one child by then. And so I thought, what's next? And I thought, this is vanity. It's like chasing the wind because everything I grab is going to be ripped from my hands by this mysterious thing called death. It didn't make any sense.
Starting point is 00:02:27 And I remember one night as a non-Christian, I just cried out why, why? I wasn't even crying out to God. I just cried out why. And thankfully, God heard my prayer. and six months later I came to faith in Christ. I remember reading the sermon on the Mount where Jesus said, you've heard it said by them of old, you shall not commit adultery.
Starting point is 00:02:44 And saying to myself, well, if there's a heaven, I'll probably get there because I've never committed adultery. But then I read the words of Jesus, but I say to you, whoever looks upon a woman to lust for her, has committed adultery already with her in his heart. It was like an arrow hit my chest. I thought, no, does God see my thought life? I had no idea that he saw my motives and my intentions.
Starting point is 00:03:06 That's what I understood the cross because I understood that I was condemned. I'd end up in hell if I died in my sins. Then the cross made sense that Christ died for me. He rose again, defeated death. And I came to faith and I was like a man who had found everlasting life. And for the last 52 years, I've been running the streets like a wild man and gently telling people how they can find everlasting life because my heart breaks for the millions or even billions that are sitting in the shadow of death, waiting for death to come, horrified by it,
Starting point is 00:03:39 not knowing they have to face a holy God on Judgment Day that's seen their thought life. So, and I was teaching in Hawaii about 1987, a pastor sat in the teaching. He said, America must hear this message. He invited us to base our ministry in Southern California. We came over in 1989. Things were quiet for about three years. And then David Wilkerson called from New York. He'd heard the teaching.
Starting point is 00:04:02 and another gentleman had seen it put it on video a teaching called Hell's Best Kept Secret and screened it to 30,000 pastors. They'd just open up the ministry incredibly. Hell's Best Kept Secret, which was your sermon? Yeah, it was the sermon, yeah. It looked at why the church is full of false converts and what we have forgotten when it comes to reaching out to the lost.
Starting point is 00:04:28 Certain keys were used by Spurgeon, Wesley, Whitfield, Luther, and the church had forgotten about that. And so I brought it back. And in 2000, I think, or 2001, the actor Kurt Cameron called it, heard Hell's Best Gap Secret, listened to it twice, and he wanted to combine ministries.
Starting point is 00:04:46 So since that time, things have kind of exploded, and we're amazed at what God is doing. A YouTube channel has got over 232 million views, so we're very humbled and very excited about what God's doing through this ministry. I want to ask you, so we're in Southern California,
Starting point is 00:05:02 were you based or you're still in Southern California? Still in Southern California, dude, like totally. Like totally, man. Well, I need to ask you, so when David Wilkerson, now he was my pastor, I started going to Times Square Church in New York City in 1990, and in many ways, that formed my spiritual foundation, was a big part of it. and David Wilkerson was a firebrand, sometimes in a bad way, but 98% of the time in an amazingly wonderful way.
Starting point is 00:05:40 He was just a character. I mean, it's just incredible, like an Old Testament prophet. And you're saying that he discovered what you were saying. And this was in the 80s. When was this? No, this was 1993. He called me from his car phone. He had listened to the teaching in his car.
Starting point is 00:05:56 That was a big deal back then calling from a car. That's a big deal. Oh, yes, and he flew me across to preach in the church in 1993. I got to have lunch with David Wilkson, which thrilled me. It was more exciting than having lunch with John the Baptist because of what would have been on the menu for Baptist. But it was a great thrill for me, and that opened up the ministry because his name was so well known then. I mean, it's funny because I was going to Times Square Church in 1993, and I often forget things, but it seems to me now that I did. remember being there when you preached because I was going to the church at that time,
Starting point is 00:06:33 but I didn't realize. That's right. You were on the left side on the third row back. Thank you. Left side facing the crowd or in the other direction? Facing me. That would be about where I would have sat, and I'm not even kidding. But it's true. I went to Times Square Church from 1990 onward. And what's interesting to me about you and about David Wilkerson is that you're stressing things, well, he was because he's no longer with us, but that are central. They're not peripheral. It's not extra credit Christianity. And that, of course, would have gotten his attention. Anybody who was preaching in the way that he was, was so rare that he would call you up and say, hey, who are you? I want you to come and preach at my church. It happened with Pastor Carter Conlon
Starting point is 00:07:24 around the same time. He became the pastor of Times Square Church. because you just referred to it a moment ago about how many people, and I speak in the evangelical world, they're sold this bill of goods, which is not biblical, that all you have to do is assent mentally like, do you accept Jesus? Yes, okay, boom, you're done. You know, as though that's it. You actually have to live that out. You know, if you, when we say by faith alone, it has to be real faith.
Starting point is 00:08:02 It can't be some kind of mental assent. And then, you know, you sign a card and you're fine. You have to live it out. And a lot of people want to twist that and say, oh, that means you're preaching works righteousness. No. But there's a balance. We have to kind of understand that. And it seems to me that's part of what it is that struck David Wilkerson about you.
Starting point is 00:08:25 Yeah, when you look at what a doctor does, if he's got a patient in front of him who's got a terminal disease, he's got two weeks to live, but the patient doesn't know it, he thinks he's incredibly healthy. A wise doctor will not give a cure to that patient straight away because he thinks he's healthy. He's not going to take it. He's not going to appreciate it or appropriate it. A wise doctor will pick up x-rays and very gently and deliberately show him poison seeping through his body. The doctor wants to make him sweat. He wants to make him tremble so he can see the serious nature of this disease so that when he gives him the cure,
Starting point is 00:08:59 he's going to appreciate it and appropriate it. And so if we say to sinners, Jesus will solve your problems, he'll fix everything, every problem you've got, here, take this cure. It's not going to cure him because he doesn't appreciate it or appropriate it because he doesn't see himself as being terminal.
Starting point is 00:09:16 When we apply the law of God to the conscience of sinners, it shows them that God is justified and giving them the wages of death. The Bible says the wages of sin, is death. God is paying us in death for our sins. Like a judge looks at a criminal that's committed multiple murders and says, you've earned the death sentence. This is your wages. This is what's due to you. This is what we're paying you. And our sin is so serious to a holy God, he's put us on death row. Our death will convince us that God is deadly serious about sin. And when a sinner sees the serious
Starting point is 00:09:47 nature of sin, then he can find a place of January repentance. Like David, when he had sin with Bashib, but was no big deal. He swept down to the carpet. But until Nathan said, you're the man, why have you despised the commandment of the Lord? That's when David saw the serious nature that God saw his sin, and that's when he cried, God be merciful to mere sinner. Okay. Blot at my transgressions. More with Ray, comfort, don't go away.
Starting point is 00:10:12 In case you haven't been paying attention, the Biden administration has caused a financial crisis, and they have no clue how to fix it. Oil prices have skyrocketed, and when oil prices go up, the cost of transportation and shipping spikes, leading the prices of goods to rise. And when we're already seeing record inflation, that's the last thing we need. Our economy is in trouble and you need to take steps to protect yourself. If all your money is tied up in stocks, bonds, and traditional markets, you are vulnerable. Gold is one of the best ways to protect your retirement.

Starting point is 00:12:25 And we're talking about, oh, I don't know, the most important thing in the universe. So Ray Comfort, you have a book out called How to Make Sure God Here's Your Prayers, Brand New Book, and another book that I have in my hand here called So Many Lions, So Few Daniels, Living Without Compromise in a World in Need of Truth. This underscores what I hope I talk about wherever I go. I have a new book out called Letter to the American Church. And I think that many people who think of themselves as Christians don't understand that courage and fearlessness are not extra credit Christianity. It's basic.
Starting point is 00:13:08 If you believe what you claim to believe, you're going to live differently. There's going to be a faith and a boldness and a joy that won't be there unless you know that these things are true. And so I find myself talking about this wherever I go now because that's been my more recent diagnosis of a very sick church, of people that are kind of playing at church rather than being the church. And it seems to me that that's what you have been saying and preaching for many years, and it's what you say in so many lions, so few Daniels. Yeah, that book was inspired by atheists.
Starting point is 00:13:52 I remember seeing a T-shirt that said so many Christians, so few lions. And I thought, boy, that's a sense of a saying, so many blacks, so few lynching ropes, so many Jews, so few Nazi ovens. And so that book was written out of a righteous indignation. I was mad, and I want to see Christians rise up and be like Daniel. Okay, wait, wait, wait, but just so were people attracting. You saw an atheist wearing a shirt, so many Christians, so few lions, okay? very, very nasty.
Starting point is 00:14:22 Yeah. Very, very nasty. And I have to editorialize and say that part of my fascination with those who call themselves atheists is they're not neutral. They claim to be neutral and rational. They are often viciously nasty, nihilistic, and it's hard not to see them as being diabolical to being at war with God and those who talk about God. So you're saying you see a T-shirt that's...
Starting point is 00:14:49 says so many Christians, so few lions, you're offended to the point that you write a book called So Many Lions, So Few Daniels. Yeah, and there's a reason atheists are mad at us. We are a threat, and so they're going to fight to us, fight tooth and nail, and the threat isn't really a political thing. The threat is a personal thing. They hate God and his moral accountability. That's what's behind what atheism is. Remember the prodigal son went to a far country and Jesus tells us he went there to spend his money on prostitutes. That's why he went away and it was a far country because he didn't want to do what he wanted to do under the nose of his father. He knew his father would frown on him going to
Starting point is 00:15:33 prostitutes. Atheism is a far country for the atheist. He wants to get away from God as far as he can. He denies the existence of the God that gave him life. Atheism is worse than foolishness. It's an insanity, and I'll tell you why. An atheist believes the scientific impossibility that nothing created everything. That's what they default to. If they say there's no creator, then nothing created everything. They're not saying there was nothing in the beginning.
Starting point is 00:16:03 They're saying nothing was the creative source or force that gave us flowers and birds and trees, the sun, the moon of stars, puppies, kittens, the seasons, fruits, male and female and all the species, the marvels of a human eye, nothing, created everything. That's where the Bible says an atheist is a fool. So when I meet, when I meet an atheist, very really do I get into an argument with him because I know he knows God exists because Romans 1 tells us. It tells us that the invisible things of him from the creation of the
Starting point is 00:16:33 world are clearly seen being understood by the things that are made. The painting is proof of the painter. The painter could have died 300 years ago, but no one's so foolish to say the painting made itself. Obviously there was a painter. The building is proof of the painter. The building is proof of the builder and creation is proof of the creator. That's why the Bible says the heavens declare the glory of God. Every time any human being looks up at that sky with this incredible magnificence, the big puffy clouds, that plueness, they know in their heart, this is the creation of God. Excuse me. It's the painting of the painter. He's got a conscience. The word conscience means with knowledge. God has given light to every man. So we've got to be careful. We don't get in an
Starting point is 00:17:16 argument with an atheist about the existence of God, we need to go right to his conscience and say, you're running from God because you love your sins. It's as simple as that. Adam, send, and he hid from God. You're just hiding from the God that gave you life. It's amazing to me that, because what you're saying is true, and again, when I wrote my book as atheism dead, I hadn't really seen this until I, in the course of writing that book, I thought to myself, this is diabolical. In other words, when somebody claims, to be an atheist, what's really going on is this deep, deep spiritual animosity toward God. It's not about I'm neutral. So often they couch things and saying, well, we're being rational and we're
Starting point is 00:18:02 being, but no, it's not some kind of a neutral secularism. It is a deep hostility. And you're quite right that you know that when you're talking to them because you deal with them. That's been part of your life for years, and you get right to it. And I know you do this amazingly. God's given you a gift to do that. All right. But speaking about the book, so many lions, so few Daniels, living without compromise in a world in need of truth. What do you mean by that, living without compromise? Well, the key to Christian living is to present your body as a living sacrifice wholly and acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. You lay everything online. I remember hearing a story, a kid's story, it's kind of a silly story, but it made sense.
Starting point is 00:18:53 A little train was coming down a hill and it looked at all the animals, the horses leaping around in the fields, and it was envious. And one day it jumped off the rails to try and find freedom. And all got was disaster because a train is designed to find complete freedom expression within the confines of the rails. And you and I are made to be yoked to God. When we yoke ourselves to the Lord, that's when we find complete freedom of expression. When we live lawfully, we find freedom. The world thinks liberty comes through lawlessness. Well, you try that in sport. You try it in some football game. Just have lawlessness. Everyone does their own thing. You're going to have the referees blowing their whistle, stopping the game because there's been a transgression. No, if everybody
Starting point is 00:19:36 obeys the rules, there's going to be a free flowing game. And that's exactly what it's like in society. The simplicity of Christianity and what the Bible says is utterly amazing. Every human being problem is solved in this one saying of Jesus. Do unto others as you'd have them do to you. That would mean nobody rapes, nobody steals, nobody lies, nobody commits adultery. You don't want to do that to neighbor's wife and you want him to treat you as you treat him as you treat yourself. And so that's there'd be no wars, there'd be no police, no judges, no lawyers. Imagine no lawyers. Because no one would ever transgress. But we haven't got the ability to live like that because our natures are sinful. We love our sins. We're selfish by nature. And it's only through
Starting point is 00:20:20 the new birth that we can find a love that extends towards those that don't love us. Well, the book has so many lines, so few Daniels, living without compromise in a world in need of truth. And so what do you say to people who would say, oh, that's works righteousness, you know, you need to relax. I talk about this wherever I go, but it sounds to me like you get the idea that we have to live out our faith. It's not enough having some intellectual assent, which isn't really fooling anyone. It's not fooling the devil. It's not fooling God.
Starting point is 00:20:57 You have to actually live it out because if you don't live it out, it kind of proves you don't believe what you claim to believe. you know there's batteries in your flashlight when it shines if there's no light there's something wrong and there should be a light shining and that light is the light of righteousness every christian should have fruit there's evidence of genuine conversion most people who don't care about this and what we're talking about living in holiness don't understand there's such a thing as true and false conversion excuse me i want a tadpole in my throat trying to evolve into a frog Okay, when you say false conversion, that's an interesting concept. Let's talk about that.
Starting point is 00:21:36 What do you mean by that? I'm trying to drown that frog. Okay. They're amphibious, you know. Continue. Yes, yes, that's come hopping back. The parable of the sower, Jesus spoke of different soils. He spoke of the stony ground herrer, the thorny ground herer, the wayside herer, and the genuine herer.
Starting point is 00:21:56 And often when the gospel is preached and there's no law to bring the knowledge of sin, people make a commitment to Christ, give their heart to Jesus to help their marriage problem, their drug problem, fill the God shape vacuum their back in their heart. But they fall away when tribulation, temptation, persecution comes. Judas was a false convert. He was a believer. He probably did miracles in the name of Jesus. But he was never genuine. Jesus said one of you is a devil. And we have tears among the wheat, foolish virgins among the wise, bad fish among the good, goats among the sheep that Jesus said he will sort out. out on Judgment Day. So our churches are filled with false converts. That's why we have such
Starting point is 00:22:35 compromise women in the church. Much of the church looks more like the world than the world. And that's because we're living out exactly what the parable of the soa says. Okay, hang on. Let's put a pin in that. We've got much more coming up. We will allow Ray comfort to complete these and other sentences. Don't go away. Tell me why Relief Factor is so successful at lowering or eliminating pain. I'm often asked that question just the other night. I was asked that question. Well, the owners of Relief Factor tell me they believe our bodies were designed to heal.
Starting point is 00:23:23 That's right, designed to heal. And I agree with them. And the doctors who formulated Relief Factor for them selected the four best ingredients, yes, 100% drug-free ingredients. And each one of them helps your body deal with inflammation. Each of the four ingredients deals with inflammation from a, different metabolic pathway. That's the point. So approaching from four different angles may be why so many people find such wonderful relief. If you've got back pain, shoulder, neck, hip, knee, or
Starting point is 00:23:51 foot pain from exercise or just getting older, you should order the three-week quick start discounted to only 1995 to see if it'll work for you. It has worked for about 70% of the half a million people who've tried it and have ordered more on one of them. Go to Relieffactor.com or call 800 for Relief to find out about this offer. Feel the difference. Hey there, folks. Today we are partnering with food for the poor to provide urgently needed food to some of the most impoverished countries in our hemisphere. Starting point is 00:25:42 Ray, we're talking about your book, So Many Lions, So Few Danels, Living Without Compromise in a World in Need of Truth. I like the idea of what you're talking about. You're reinforcing what Jesus says, that we can have false converts. There are a lot of people that bridle at the notion because immediately it takes them to, you know, works righteousness or something like that. But that's foolish. That's bad. That's sloppy theology.
Starting point is 00:26:12 It's shallow theology because Jesus said what he said. You got to deal with it. And he did talk about seed falling on this kind of ground and that kind of ground. And you were just talking about that. It's why we have so many churches that are profoundly compromised as we come under some measure of persecution as living out one's faith requires more. You suddenly see this kind of threshing going on, this dividing. So I believe a holy remnant is arising and that there are people that are falling away.
Starting point is 00:26:50 They're just sort of drifting leftward into what looks like a kind of secularism. It's horrifying and fascinating at the same time. Yes. Jesus said, straight as the gate and narrow as a way that leads to life and few there be that find it. Broad is the path that leads to destruction and many go in that way.
Starting point is 00:27:16 That word strive to enter the straight gate where Jesus mentioned another place is from a word we used to get our word agonize, agonized to get and strive to get into the straight gate. Becoming a Christian is not easy, as so many say, just give you a heart to Jesus. No, no. The Bible says, cleanse your hands, your sinners,
Starting point is 00:27:37 purify your heart, you double-minded, let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to heaven. heaviness. When someone comes to Christ, there should be tears of contrition. I didn't have physical tears in my eyes when I came to Christ when I saw the cost of my forgiveness, but I had tears in my heart. And what I couldn't express verbally, I expressed in a lifestyle. I live a life of holiness, not to earn heaven. I live a life of holiness, that's separation from sin and from the world because of gratitude to God for his mercy.
Starting point is 00:28:12 You know, the thing that motivates me to reach out to the loss with such deal is the high-octane fuel of gratitude. I am so grateful because as a non-Christian, I look clean on the outside, but I was filled with unlawful sexual desire. Absolutely, it describes me when the scriptures say, having eyes full of adultery, loving darkness, hating the light, drinking iniquity. like water. That was me and he who is forgiven much, the same loves much. So as a Christian, I proclaim we are saved by grace through faith without works, but if you come to Christ, there should be fruit as evidence of a genuine conversion. You've been regenerated, the fruit of praise, the fruit of Thanksgiving, the fruit of repentance, the fruit of the spirit. There should be evidence of love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, genuineness, faith, meekness and temperance.
Starting point is 00:29:04 And all these evidences show that you've passed. from death to life. And we have, as I said, masses within the church who have never found a place of genuine repentance. They're still loving their sins. No, Eric, sin is always married in scripture to death. The wages of sin is death. The soul that sins, it shall die. Lust brings forth sin. Sin which can see brings forth death. So if we can't hate sin for what it is, we must hate it for what it does. And that's what keeps me from sin. The knowledge that sin that sin, that sin, that and death are bedfellows. Well, it's a powerful message, and I imagine that you would get kickback from the kind of
Starting point is 00:29:45 like the hyper grace movement, because there's some people that, as soon as they hear anybody talking in the way that you are, it disturbs them and it doesn't sound right to them. Have you encountered those kinds of folks? Do you know what I mean? Oh, yes, absolutely. Just they're very nasty folks. They're not folks that exhibit gentleness and kindness and love and goodness. They're just nasty and it really, they're revealing their unregenerate heart when they get nasty and start yelling and being filled with hate. Christians don't do that. If we see someone is off the rails, we gently correct them. And so there is a lot of anger and hatred when someone says you should be living in holiness because without holiness, no man will
Starting point is 00:30:31 see the Lord. You know, Eric, one of the things the modern church lacks is a fear of God. There's no fear of God before their eyes. And I believe that's more than a reverential fear. Listen to what Jesus said. Fear not him who has power to kill your body and afterwards do no more, but fear him who has power to kill your body and cast your soul into hell. He was saying if someone's going to stab you through the chest with a knife, don't fear him. That shouldn't be a fearful thing compared to the fear you should have for God. That's more than a reverential fear. Let me share something with you. When I was in New Zealand, we had a police force that never used. guns. They would hit people with sticks if they were naughty like they used to in England.
Starting point is 00:31:12 And so when I came to the US and Open Air preached, I'd have something that was to my advantage when it came to the police. When a police officer walked toward me, I'd always say, he's got a gun. This guy has got a gun. And this happened more than a dozen times. And when that happens, I always stop what I'm doing and say, yes, sir, no, sir, want me to move. I don't talk about First Amendment rights. I don't talk about your, you know, a servant of the people. because I know he can kill me because he wants to get home that night, that night. And if I move too quickly or reach from my pocket, he could just go blam and legally do what he's done if he thinks he's in danger. That's more than a reverential fear that I have for the police.
Starting point is 00:31:51 I have a fear of what they can do to me. And that's what Jesus was saying about the fear of the Lord. Fear not him who has power to kill your body and afterwards do no more, but fear him who has power to kill your body and cast your soul into hell. It's that sort of fear that keeps me from looking at the pleasures of pornography, of listening to gossip. It's that sort of fear of God that's healthy. And the Bible says the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, and Jesus was heard in that he feared. Okay, hang on. Another harsh break.

Starting point is 00:33:19 Again, use code Eric and save mypillow.com. Folks, welcome back. I'm talking to Ray Comfort. He has another book out. We've talked about so many lines, so few Daniels, living about compromise in a world in need of truth. and another book, a recent book, How to Make Sure God Hear's Your prayers.
Starting point is 00:33:49 I want you, Ray, to touch on that and then to touch on what you're doing in England very soon. Yeah, whether or not God hears their prayers doesn't really matter too much until you're hanging over a thousand-foot cliff by your teeth or you're in turbulence upside down on a plane at 20,000 feet. Then you want to know if God hears your prayers.
Starting point is 00:34:09 And there are certain keys that we, must adhere to or turn to get the air of God. The Bible says if I have an equity in my heart, the Lord will not hear. God's not a divine butler. He just doesn't come running when we click our fingers. If you want an audience with a King of England, you can't show up in your pajamas. It just won't work. You have to obey certain etiquette. And it's exactly the same with God on steroids. To have the air of God, and of course he's omniscient. He hears all things and sees all things, but you don't want him to just hear. You want him to answer. your prayers. You want them to regard what you're saying. And so that book is written to bring out
Starting point is 00:34:48 the point that Jesus was heard in that he feared. If you fear God, if you depart from sin, you keep your heart free from sin, then you've got a hotline to God. And it's very important, and it becomes important when you're facing a crisis in your life. Well, I mean, it really does make me think that there are people, you know, the classic example, who are living in sexual sin, who still consider themselves Christians. And I always want to say to them, aren't you afraid that by flouting God's commandment here, that you are stepping away from his protection and his love,
Starting point is 00:35:28 that you are opening yourself up to demonic things? The Lord wants to protect you from that and wants you to be under his wings, but you have deliberately stepped away. away from that. And why aren't you frightened at the thought of that? Why don't you take that seriously? I don't know how many pastors preach on that or if they wink at that or act as though, well, you know, I don't know what one can say about that. Well, so that's your book, How to Make Sure God Hear's Your Prayers. You can say more about that. And I also want to talk to you about
Starting point is 00:36:07 the coronation. Yeah, let me share about the coronation because I'm super excited about this. About six months ago, I began studying what King Charles the Third is going to do during his coronation, during the coronation service. He's going to lay his hand on the Bible and swear before God to uphold
Starting point is 00:36:23 salvation by grace through faith without works. He's going to be given three swords, one sharp sword, the sword of justice, a blunt sword, the sword of mercy. He's going to be anointed with oil. He's going to carry an orb with a cross on the top, which is a picture of Christ having rain over the earth. There are 10 things that he's doing in that service
Starting point is 00:36:43 that hundreds of millions are going to watch around the world live that are symbolic of the Christian faith and salvation by grace through faith. And I was thinking about this. And so I made a video, a very rough video, and sent it in my team. And I received an email straight after that. And some guy just said, what are you working on? So I sent him the video and he sent us $200,000. I showed someone else the video. They sent $100,000. And someone else, they saw it, they sent $50,000. So we got six million tracks printed.
Starting point is 00:37:15 It's the coronation million. It looks exactly like a 50-pound note. And it has the gospel on the back. And I wrote a book called Defender of the Faith, which is what Charles is going to be, a defender of the faith, a Protestant faith against Catholicism, bringing out all these 10 points.
Starting point is 00:37:31 And so what we're doing is we're making these available free of charge, six million tracks to give out during the coronation and throughout the US. We're making these free of charge and we're paying the shipping to the United Kingdom, to Europe, to Australia, to New Zealand and throughout the whole US. People can go to livingwaters.com forward slash London and get these tracts and these books free of charge and again we pay the shipping and it's super exciting because non-Christians that line the streets of London and there's going to be millions on those streets are going to grab this 50-pound bill with Charles's picture on the front and take it home as memorabilia. It has the gospel on it. So this is super exciting. In other words,
Starting point is 00:38:16 what I'm saying is the world is going to church. They're going to sit through a two-hour church service about Jesus, God and the Bible and salvation by grace through faith. This is absolutely unprecedented. We've got 3,000 Christians already signed up to go to England, 1,800. from England itself, and we're super excited that they're stepping up to the plate and going to give out these tracks. The only horror, the only fly in the ointment is there's going to be an LGBT diversity choir singing. Oh, there's not.
Starting point is 00:38:48 Yes. Yes, sir, there is. Yes, sir, there is. There was an article written, I believe it was Carl Truman in First Things magazine, talking about that. And it was horrifying to read because one wonders what page, Charles, Charles III is on, theologically,
Starting point is 00:39:08 if he would be foolish enough to be open to that. Of course. I fear he doesn't have the faith of his late mother. And so it's very interesting. Just one other point here, Andrew Lloyd Weber is writing the music for the coronation based on Psalm 38.
Starting point is 00:39:26 No, Psalm 98. And so it's got a mixture of the world in it. We know that it's just a form of godliness. We know that Charles is lacking he, He loves Islam, believe it or not, when you study it. But this is a huge opportunity, and it's based off Acts 17 when Paul preached in Athens, he quoted Greek poets. And you say, what on earth is he quoting Greek poets, godless poets for?
Starting point is 00:39:49 Well, he was using that as a bridge to reach the loss. And all we're doing is using this coronation, which has a semblance of godliness, as a bridge to reach the lost. So it's a wonderful opportunity. Well, it's brilliant. It's wonderful. and you are just overactive in such a joyful way, the fact that you're doing this initiative.
Starting point is 00:40:09 What is the date of the coronation? I don't know. It's May the 6th. We're still got two months. May the 6th, okay. Yes. And the secular media are going to ramp this up. I mean, the church is not interested in Charles.
Starting point is 00:40:22 We have our king. But the world is like, it's like celebrity on steroids. What do they eat? What are they saying? Who's going with who? So a king getting coronated. my friend Ken Ham, put it rightly, he's from Australia, he understands how big this is. He said, if the President of America dies during that church service, the media will not cut away from it
Starting point is 00:40:45 because they know there's such fascination by the world on everything royal. And so, as I said, this is an unprecedented opportunity for the gospel. And can I give that address again? So give the way, yes, go ahead. It's livingwaters.com forward slash London, whole stack of things. free stuff for you. Livingwaters.com forward slash London. We're out of time. Ray Comfort, always a joy to talk with you. God bless you, my friend. Same to you. Thank you. Folks, welcome back. Man, we're all over the map. In hour two today, just to be clear,
Starting point is 00:41:38 maybe you just heard it or it's coming up depending what hour this is for you. Ray Comfort is my guest for the whole hour. He is amazing. I want to remind you, I can't say this, certain things I can't say enough. Inspireadvisors.com slash Eric. I want everyone to go there and to make sure that your money is in the right hands. I am emphatic about this. Please go to inspireadvisors.com slash Eric. If everyone would do this, my goodness, the power that we have.
Starting point is 00:42:18 with where our money is. InspireAdvisors.com slash Eric, I want to remind you again, we fixed it, the banner at the top of MetaxistalkisTalk.com to give to food for the poor. We're doing this campaign this month. Every year at this time, we do a campaign with food for the poor. These folks are feeding the poorest of the poor, and they need our help. So please go to MetaxistalkisTalk.com, and you'll see the banner there. can also text my name Eric to 911-999. That's text Eric to 911-999, and it will come up. Now, Albin, we've been talking in this really about last night about the Soctees and the city event.
Starting point is 00:43:06 And part of what makes Jeannie Konstantino's book such a big deal, folks, I'm not getting like paid to promote this book, okay? We promote what we believe is good on this program. You know, sometimes we have sponsors, but we wouldn't have those sponsors unless we believed in them. And that's why I push what I push, because I believe in these things are good and I want my audience to know about it.
Starting point is 00:43:29 But this book, you know, there's no sponsorship. But I said, I've got to have her at Socrates and City. And in the book, which I just reread, this is Jeannie Constantine, who's The Crucifixion of the King of Glory, she gets into some specifics that you feel like you're there. She has a gift to do that. People have said that to me about my Bonhofer book.
Starting point is 00:43:51 Oh, I feel like I know him, you know. Because it's not written. I mean, on a scholarly level, it is excellent. But her goal is not just to be excellent on a scholarly level. It's actually to bring it home to you, to make it real. And I have to say when I read the book, which I just did in preparation for last night's event, I'm blown away. It's like you're there. And she takes you, she shows you things about what happened during the Passion Week after Lazarus is raised from the dead and how angry the chief priests were they said, we've got to kill Jesus.
Starting point is 00:44:31 There's no way out of this. We must kill him and we must kill him in a humiliating way so that all the people cease to follow him. and she takes you to the different places in Israel. It's a 360 view of what's going on back in the day. That's what my friend had said. I think you might have even mentioned it, but the former that came with me, 360 degrees of what's going on. And you get there, and that's what you're going to talk about now, about Israel itself, right?
Starting point is 00:44:58 I'm going to Israel next year. We'll be talking about that. But the ministry, the Israel Ministry of Tourism is a sponsor on this program, and their website is holyland.israel.travel. Holyland.israel. Now, the reason I think it's important to go to Israel is because every one of us who claims to have some kind of Christian faith, you want your faith to be deepened. And there is really no substitute for when you go there and when these things begin to come alive to you,
Starting point is 00:45:33 it can't help but change how. you see everything. Your faith comes alive. So, of course, there's a million ways you can go there, a million tour groups, whatever, this and that. But I just want to let you know, if you want information, go to holyland.israel.orgia. That's holyland.
Starting point is 00:45:55 dot Israel. Dot travel. And that's it.
