Eric McTaxis show with your host, Eric Metaxis.
Hey, Albin.
Hey, sir.
Guess what time it is?
Don't tell me.
It's time for Ask Mataxis.
Every week at exactly the same time, the first segment of hours,
or two, we do a segment we call Ask Metaxus.
This one, there's some kind of strange, basically people write in with questions, but people,
somebody wrote in with a whole bunch of questions.
This is kind of weird, but I think we're going to go with it.
Yeah.
And let's see.
All right.
So you ask the questions, and I will do my best to answer.
Okay.
This is a tweak on what I think we got a while ago.
Have you ever played wordle? If so, do you have any advice on how to excel at it? By the way, I think Excel
would be, would make for a challenging wordal word. Okay, the answer to that is so easy. No, I've never
played wordle. I have no plans to play wordle. I like Scrabble. I don't know, I love words. I have to say,
and this does bring up the fact that oftentimes comment, people comment on my
books and say, well, what do you use such big words or what do you have? I think you can use words
pretentiously or you can use words out of a love of words. And I hope that when I use what look like
big words in some of my books, I do it kind of out of a joy that I get from some words. Some words
just just give me joy. And so yeah, I love words. I also love etymology, which I think I've mentioned on this
program before, which means the origin of words. Like when you think of a word and they think, well, where do that word come from? What's the root of it? I love that kind of thing. We'll probably do something with etymologies and words in the future on the program. We have, we've done in the past a segment called English as a first language where I like to talk about words. Anyway, that's a long way of saying, no, I've never played wordle. Second question. What is your favorite holiday and why?
You know, I think it's inevitable that it's Christmas for all the obvious reasons.
I love Christmas. I think I love it because in a way it combines, it's as meaningful as it gets,
but we have in some ways over time created something really beautiful that,
people who maybe are not the most devoted Christians can nonetheless enjoy it.
There's something beautiful about Christmas. So I'll just keep it simple and I'll just say Christmas.
Okay. I like this next one. If you could have a totally different career, what would it be and why?
These questions sound familiar. Has somebody asked me this question recently, like the worded question?
I think I think I've said this before. I regret.
not having tried acting. When I was at Yale, I was in two musicals, and I regret not having pursued
that because I think it would have been fun. But I will, so yeah, I'll keep that one simple too,
and I will simply say, acting. Okay. Okay. Do you take recommendations for Socrates and the
city guests? Oh my goodness. Absolutely. In fact, I have a book here.
Carl Truman, somebody just suggested to me, I was in Houston recently and we were having dinner
with a group of people and the son of the head pastor, Ed Young, when I spoke in Houston on my
book, the new book, which is a letter to the American church. And by the way, that video,
we put that video out there. But that night or the night after we had dinner and Ben Young,
who's one of the pastors, he's the son of the head pastor there, Ed Young, he said,
Have you ever ever thought about Carl Truman? And I thought, no, I've heard of Carl Truman. I don't know
Carl Truman. So I've just begun reading a book by Carl Truman. There are, I mean, let me put it this way. Not only do I take
recommendations, but I love it when people make recommendations because so often people think of things that I can't think of.
So yes, you just have to email us at Socrates in the city.com or at any of the websites and make a recommendation. I mean,
chances are I've already thought of it because I think about this kind of thing a lot, but I don't,
I mean, I really enjoy it when people make suggestions. And, you know, this is an opportunity to say
that we've never done this for not for many years where we know in advance a whole bunch of
Socrates events. We've got the one with Andrew Claiborne coming up on September 27th. People are now
flying in from around the country or driving in, spending a few days. And it's a wonderful thing,
is it's a way to see friends to get to know people, you know, to hang out. It's not just an event and you go home. A lot of people, you know, want to make a day a couple of days out of it. So, but we've got that event, September 27th, Andrew Claven. We've got an event in Houston. I mentioned with James Tour. I will lure him to New York eventually. And then Berlinski did Berlinski November 1st. I think we have something in December. So we've got a lot of events coming up. But there's no end to,
people that I would like to interview for Socrates in the city. So yes, if you can think of somebody or a book or whatever it is, please don't even hesitate to be in touch with us.
Yeah. Okay. Thoughts on the student debt forgiveness. I think you've mentioned some things, but maybe you want to mention something else.
I am horrified at the naked bribery. This is the definition of corruption. I mean, if you want to know who is desperate and pathetic and couldn't care less,
about, I don't know, the future of the nation, find somebody who's willing to bribe you
by saying, we will give you a ton of money, and then we hope you'll vote for us. That's basically
what this is. It's absolutely unconscionable. I think, you know, it's one thing to disagree with the
policies of a politician. And it's another thing to think them effectively of behaving in a way that is
utterly unworthy of the office. So many people said that of Trump. And I, I'm amazed at how people
were willing to, they weren't, it's kind of interesting. It almost becomes like a personality issue.
They didn't like the way he said this or the way he said that. Biden is putting in policies that
they're monstrous. I mean, they're not only harmful to America, but they're just, they're just
naked power grabs over and over and over again. And the students,
debt forgiveness thing. It's astonishing to me that this could be happening. I only pray that if you get
money back, that you give it to some organization that is dedicated to wiping out corruption in
America along the lines of Joe Biden. Let me, let's leave it at that. Okay. Here's a question.
Do you think you could win at Jeopardy? Oh, I know I could.
win at Jeopardy. Whether I would win, I don't know, but I could certainly compete on Jeopardy. I love,
I love Jeopardy, and I have often thought, I mean, I think it's too late in life for me to try
something like that, but I think that I would at least be competitive and I could win. Now, this person
sent some questions, didn't they? Yeah, they sent some questions. By the way, I was a contestant
on Wheel of Fortune, and I went to the bonus round, but did not win there. This was back in like
the mid-80s, believe it or not, the early days. Yeah, but let's go on to Jeopardy. Here's a question from the
category of the Middle Ages. One way to judge guilt was by trial by, in quotes, trial by this six-letter word,
like putting the accused arm in boiling water. I mean, we've heard of trial by fire, trial by jury.
I don't know the six-letter word. Do you know what this one is? Yeah, the answer. The answer.
is ordeal.
Oh, absolutely.
No, no, no.
I've heard of that.
I've heard of that.
It wouldn't have come to me, I don't think.
But yes, I've certainly heard of that trial by ordeal.
Okay.
The next one is category.
Yeah, and the category Van Gogh, a go-go.
One theory about Van Gogh's odd behaviors poisoning from this liquor,
this liqueur made from wormwood.
I'm pretty sure that is abstinth.
You got it.
That is correct.
Okay. Okay. Now, here in the category, who wrote it, we asked you to speak about women and fiction. This is a quote. We ask you to speak about women and fiction. What has that got to do with a room of one's own? Who is Virginia Woolf? That is correct. Virginia, wait, you're really good at this. Wow.
No, no. I've always been good at you. I love this kind of trivia stuff. Holy cow, we're out of time. Well, that ends another segment of Ask Metaxus. Stay tuned for more. Don't go away.
In case you haven't been paying attention, the Biden administration has caused a financial crisis, and they have no clue how to fix it.
Oil prices have skyrocketed, and when oil prices go up, the cost of transportation and shipping spikes, leading the prices of goods to rise.
And when we're already seeing record inflation, that's the last thing we need.
Our economy is in trouble, and you need to take steps to protect yourself.
If all your money is tied up in stocks, bonds, and traditional markets, you are vulnerable.

PM Investments.com. Tell me, Eric, why is relief factor so successful at lowering or eliminating pain?
I'm often asked that question. The owners of Relief Factor tell me they believe our bodies were designed to heal.
That's right, designed to heal, and I agree with them. So the doctors who formulated Relief Factor for them selected the four best ingredients, yes, 100% drug-free ingredients, each helps your body deal with inflammation.
Each of the four ingredients deals with inflammation from a different metabolic pathway. And that right there, a
from four different angles may be why so many people find such wonderful relief. So if you've got back
pain, shoulder, neck, hip, knee, or foot pain from exercise or just getting older, you should order
the three-week quick start discounted to only 1995 to see if it will work for you. It works for me.
It has for about 70% of the half a million people who've tried it and have ordered more. Go to
Relieffactor.com or call 800 for relief to find out about this offer. Feel the difference.
As I hope I warned you, I want to talk about something that's very, very close to my heart right now.
If you've been listening to this program for a number of years, you will have heard of this.
There's something called Second Vote, Second Vote.com.
That's the number two, ND.
And it's about using our money to affect things.
We all say, well, I got to vote.
A lot of people are too dumb to vote.
I'm not addressing them right now.
If you're one of those people, folks, go repent and then vote and tell everyone you better vote.
But there's way more that we can do that is vital, way more than just voting.
And the money that we spend and how we spend our money is something that I think a lot of people,
it just never occurs to us.
Well, we're living in really woke, sick times, and suddenly we better think about this.
So I'm really thrilled to have the president of Second Vote.
Yes, it's an organization to talk to us about it.
Rebecca Hatfield, welcome the program.
Thank you, Eric.
Thank you for having me.
Well, you and I bumped to each other in Las Vegas at Freedom Fest.
I don't like Las Vegas, but I love Freedom Fest.
And I bumped in all these fun people.
And when you said that you were the head of second vote, I was like, wait a minute, we need to talk because I want my audience to hear about this again if they haven't heard about it.
how did you, first of all, what is your vision for second vote?
I mean, if people go to the website to ND, second vote.com, what do they find?
What is the plan?
Okay, well, our vision is to educate and inform consumers.
We're a watchdog advocate.
So what we do is we let customers, consumers, investors, we let them know which companies are basically neutral,
which ones are focusing on their product and their services,
and which ones are becoming more political,
whether it's right or left.
So that's what we do.
We inform the market consumers.
We believe that in a capitalist system,
which is what we, a free market was we are supposed to have,
which is not exactly what we have.
That's what the goal is.
We believe that the consumers are the guardrails.
And so, you know, until the consumers say, enough,
we don't like what you're doing,
until we speak with our wallet by voting with our,
wallet and saying or our voices until we raise that rise up and say hey this is enough no more we're
not taking this you're not shoving this down our throats by either stopping shopping there and going
somewhere else so when you don't go to one store because you don't like what they're doing
and you choose another one you're voting whether you realize it or not now if you don't like their
prices you're making a vote you're saying i don't like your prices i like these prices or if you
don't like their quality i don't like that quality i like this quality so you're you're making a choice
you're making a vote. First vote is at the ballot box. Your second vote is with your wallet.
Well, this is huge. We've had our friends on from Inspire investing. The way you invest your
money, where you invest your money or, you know, 401K, whatever that is, that is important. But right
now we're talking about something that is previous to that, much more central to our lives.
how you spend your money every day, where you shop, where you buy this, where you buy that.
I think we have to be up front, Rebecca, and say that there's no way to get this right.
In other words, we're living in a broken world, and no matter what you do, no matter what car you drive,
you're always participating in a broken world.
So you could drive yourself crazy.
You know, there are people that are going to say, well, I can't even, I can't drive a car because
that car company did this and this car company did that and I don't want to get my gas from that company.
And I want to get, so the point here is not to drive yourself insane, but it's to be responsible to educate yourself and to educate your neighbors and your friends and relatives.
And so we've had examples in the past that really kind of rise to the level of public consciousness where everybody says, like, I can't believe what such and such a company did.
Disney, the worst.
I mean, Disney should be canceled for a thousand centuries over what it did.
Now, there are a lot of people.
they've already forgotten about that. They think, oh, I don't care. Folks, we've got to be serious about this.
These companies are taking our money, and we are, it's not all about being entertained and being comfortable.
Sometimes we have to make choices. But when a company does something as brazen as what Disney did,
which is effectively standing with wicked people grooming our children, it's as sick as it gets,
you need to take that seriously. I don't care if you're a fan of Disney or aren't. You need to understand that you make it possible.
for them to have that cultural power and to do tremendous damage.
So we have to take these things seriously.
But oftentimes it's not something as big as that.
And again, we're distracted.
We move on on the next thing.
So what are some of the things that, what are some of the companies out there that you
would say right off the bat, they are working overtime against the values of most of us?
Target.
Target.
I knew you're going to say target because that's the top of my list.
Yes, and I am one that used to love the target experience.
The whole going there, something about the aesthetics, the whole experience was, you know, it's
very appealing.
It's hard to give up.
I understand that.
It's convenient.
There are several targets around.
But come on, it is nauseating to me now to know what they do and to still support them.
However, what my policy is, Walgreens is another one that is a really not good company.
But if your child, Walgreens, Walgreens is a very woke company.
So think about this.
Think, folks, how big these companies are.
They're everywhere.
And you kind of feel like, what choice do I have?
I got to drive on the road.
I got to go.
I got to get this.
I got to get that.
I can't avoid it.
But you're telling us, if you can avoid Walgreens and Target,
that these have become tremendously woke companies.
But the point is, okay, if your child has a fever at three in the morning,
and Walgreens is the only 24-hour entity open,
go get your child some Tylenol or whatever at Walgreens.
You make the best choice that you can at that time.
Amazon is really hard to compete with.
I mean, they've got, you know, we're in the Nashville area.
We can get same-day delivery.
There are sometimes that we have to use Amazon,
and we don't like to use Amazon, and we try to avoid it.
We want to shop local.
Then we choose a mom-and-pop shop.
If we can't find just a local something,
we use a smaller brand name that's, you know,
not a family-owned company or American-made.
So we try to do like a sphere of, you know, local and then family-owned and then, you know,
so we try to avoid the big box brands as much as possible.
But the point is that you make the best choices every time that you can and not to browbeat
yourself and not to just, you know, go crazy with trying to be dogmatic about it.
But just every choice, beware of what you're trying to do and realize that each purchase that you make,
it is a vote.
And if you're just careless and you do willy-nilly whatever you want to do,
You're making a vote towards the left's agenda if you don't pay attention and say,
hey, I'm going to try to be more aware of what I'm purchasing.
What are some of the particularly good companies?
Are there any that we can even think of?
Are there any?
Yes, there are.
And I'll just name a few that some of our top ones would be like Patriot Mobile,
a very small cell phone company, but they score very high.
Waffle House, Hobby Lobby, you know, Chick-fil-A, those are some of the ones that we know of
that score high.
But we also have some that score in the neutral zone.
If you look on our website and you see in the threes, those are neutral.
And we celebrate the neutrals because they're focusing, like I said, just on their product,
just on their services.
And they're doing a great job.
And we really celebrate those.
We recommend those.
And what we want to work on, our focus is to work on those companies that are just
below the three, just under there.
And we want to encourage them.
We want to email them.
We want to target them and say, hey, can y'all move a little bit?
Can you maybe stop doing this product or maybe this campaign or this educational program,
maybe drop the CRT a little bit?
And then you can move towards a neutral score.
And then we can celebrate you too.
So that's our focus is to help companies get more neutral.
So they're moving away from that political stance.
Well, the whole thing is we want to incentivize them.
We want to say to them, listen, we would like to shop there.
Would you change this and this and this?
Because if you do that, we're there.
And you will see profits.
But a lot of them don't know that.
And unless we send an email or unless we get involved.
And I know all this stuff you can find at secondvote.com.
Again, it's the number two ND, second vote.com.
But you just mentioned a couple of good ones.
You said Patriot Mobile, Waffle House, Hobby Lobby, Chick, now Waffle House I hadn't thought of.
They are, you're saying that they are a good company on all this stuff.
They are scored very well.
Yes, they're in the fours.
They're scored high.
Five would be the highest.
and we don't have quite a five.
Patriot Mobile is close,
but Waffle House scores very high.
I believe it's a 4.85.
They score high on our scoring system.
This is a big deal, folks.
I just want to encourage you
to the extent that you're able
to get involved
and to begin to understand
where do I spend my money.
And post it on social media.
Tell your friends,
I'm not shopping here because of this policy,
but I'm shopping here because of this policy.
You have to spread this idea.
You have to spread these ideas.
but Patriot Mobile Waffle House, Hobby Lobby, Chick-fil-A, I always say...
Avis Rental.
What's that?
Avis Rental.
Avis Rental. They score higher than Hertz and Enterprise.
Hertz and Enterprise score very low.
Avis Rund.
Son of a gun.
Well, that's terrific to hear, Rebecca, because I would have never known that if I'm given a choice between Avis and these others that I ought to go with Avis.
So, folks, we got to take this seriously and we got to spread the word.
wherever we go. We'll be back
plenty more with Rebecca Hatfield.
I want you to encourage you folks.
Go to secondvote.com. It's 2ND
second vote.com.
This is
a big deal. This is a movement, folks.
If you care about your country and liberty
and your faith, you've got to take this seriously,
second vote.com, be right back.

Folks, welcome back.
I'm talking to Rebecca Hatfield, who is the president of second vote, second vote.
That's the number 2ndd, secondvote.com.
You were just going to say something when we went to the break, Rebecca.
Yes, we have some new things about to roll out that will make it so much easier.
We have a web browser plug-in so that when you're browsing the web,
if one of our companies that we've scored comes up, it'll pop up and show you what the score is for that company.
We also are about to launch soon an app that will also be able to show you on your phone,
all the scores, and have those available right there on your phone as well.
So we've got some exciting products that are about to be released that are going to help it make it easy, even easier and accessible.
So it'll be right there when you're shopping.
We also want to do a product listing with the barcode so you can scan and see which brand of crackers would be a better score to buy than the other.
So we have a lot of things that we are about to launch.
Amazing.
This is terrific, Rebecca.
This is very exciting.
And folks, I want to tell you something.
You know, people go, well, I don't believe in boycotts.
Excuse me.
That's stupid because frankly.
No, no, no, we're not talking about boycotts, but I'm saying if somebody says to you, that company uses slave labor.
If you do not boycott that company, you're a bum.
Like, you don't care if you can get a little bit cheaper.
Well, that translates down the line.
There are companies that are doing things that are horrendous, and we need to reward those that are doing good things,
and we need to let the other ones know, if you continue that, I won't shop there, and I will tell all my friends never to shop there.
that product. I think there's a difference between boycotting and removing support. I'm not
going to support Target. I will not support their agenda. I will not support what they're doing.
I'm not going to say, I'm boycotting target because will I say I will never go in there and buy
something when I absolutely have to. No, but I will not support what they're doing.
Well, look, boycotts become a dirty word. Not to me, frankly. All I'm saying is if you don't
understand folks that the people's lives depend not just on how you vote and how you behave,
but on how you spend your money.
And you need to understand that God calls us to be stewards, good stewards.
And so we now have the ability, thanks to Rebecca and second vote,
to be much better stewards than we have been of our money.
So we want to reward Avis Rent-A-Car because they are doing or not doing a number of things
that are consonant with our values, American values, biblical values, whatever it is.
This is very, very important.
I often talk about Mike Lundell.
You know, I say people go to my store.com, use the code Eric, and get your coffee from Mike Lendell.
Why?
Because it's not Amazon.
It's not Starbucks.
It's amazing coffee.
It's a great price.
And it's Mike Lendell who is using his profits to do many, many good things.
So if you could buy something at my store.com, use the code Eric.
Go to my store.com.
But this translates into our whole lives, where we spend our money.
So what are some other companies that are, like, dedicated to working against what most people listening to this program care about?
Oh, okay.
Well, like I mentioned, Amazon, Google, Microsoft.
A lot of these companies that are so intertwined into our lives that we don't really know how to separate ourselves from those.
And that's one of the things that we want to work on long term, how to help, well, individuals as well as small businesses get away from these companies.
We want to form eventually a small business alliance that will help small business.
alliance that will help small businesses when they're starting up to not get started on those
products because once you get on them, it's very difficult to get off of them. It feels almost impossible
because you are enslaved to them. And then also just along with the big tech companies, the big box
companies, any of those companies are going to be, I mean, you're looking at Walmart. I mean,
they have done some good things, but they've also done some really bad things as well. And the problem
is also Made in America has become a thing of the past. We need to bring back Made in America.
It took 20, 30 years for that to go away, but we're going to have to work on bringing that back.
That's something else that we want to do is focus on Made in America products.
All of our merchandise, our T-shirts, all of our, anything that's got second vote on it is going to be made in America.
We will never use anything that's made in China.
So that's another local and then made in America.
Let's think about this, folks.
This is not about just dumb patriotism.
This is about there are people in China who are doing really wicked things, treating their workers like scum,
so that they can offer products to ignorant Americans
for just a little bit less.
And we go, oh, I want to save five cents,
I want to save 10 cents.
But you're contributing,
if not to actual slave labor,
to something close to it.
In America, we have standards
of how we deal with our workers and stuff.
So we have a responsibility.
Listen, William Wilberforce,
when he was one of the greatest politicians
in the life of England,
he took this stuff seriously.
And as a result of slavery around the world and the slave trade, he got people to say, we're not going to use sugar anymore.
Why? Because we do not want to help the people running sugar plantations in the West Indies who are treating people.
It's like they're living in hell.
Our money is subsidizing that.
We have to think that way, folks.
There are people in China in particular in other countries that are suffering horribly because we blithely, ignorantly, naively.
spend our money, not looking where.
So this is not about going crazy, but it's about being responsible.
It's about being stewards of how we spend our money.
Absolutely.
And that's something that the globalists are overlooking.
When you look at electric batteries for all these cars that they want to implement,
that is something that is a huge problem because they want to,
they want to formulate all these plans for everybody going to electric cars.
When you look at how electric batteries are made, there's some really scary things there.
The environment and humans are being harmed by that.
So it's, yeah, that is a huge thing that America has always been more focused on as far as their labor force, you know, in the past hundred years or so, whereas European and other countries, not so much.
So that's another idea.
Well, again, it's complicated.
And so we're not here to just make people lose their hair for stress thinking about this.
Because there's some people that they're kind of like, you know, ODD, they're going to get, like, freaked out about this.
This is not about that, folks.
This is about being responsible and understanding.
This is part of how God wants us to be good stewards.
We'll be right back talking Rebecca Hatfield, president of Second Vote.
We'll be right back.
Hey, folks, welcome back.
I'm talking to Rebecca Hatfield, who's the president of second vote.
You can go to second vote.com.
I hope you do.
This is like we're on a mission from God, folks.
Remember the Blues Brothers?
We're on a mission from God.
This is a mission from God.
He wants us to be stewards of the money he allows us to have for his purposes.
And that doesn't mean tides and offerings.
It means when you spend your money, where are you spending it?
Are you spending it responsibly?
You spending it with people that are doing things like Walmart just the other day.
They used to be a pro-American company, even though like 140% of their stuff is made in China.
But they just the other day said, hey, you know, we will help you to kill your unborn child.
We're going to vote against, you know, the idea that children in the womb are sacred.
And we're going to make an extra effort to take the profits we make from people who buy in our stores to help women do the wrong thing.
That's going to hurt them.
And it's an unbelievable thing.
So if you have to shop in a place like Walmart, well, I think you can go there.
But it's a challenge for us to find places.
Usually, Rebecca, local places.
My wife's big on this.
a local mom and pop shop, it might cost you more money, but folks, it's God's money. It's God's money.
And when you support these local places, especially when people share your values, it really does affect
everything. It's not just a one-time purchase. It affects your community. It affects what comes into your
community. Absolutely. And one of the things that we also want to do is eventually we want to score not only the
corporation, but also the local entity because sometimes like McDonald's, McDonald's is not a great
entity as far as their corporate initiatives, but sometimes there's local franchises that actually
do good things. So we want to separate those because we don't want to penalize the local
owners because of what the corporation does. So we want to have separate scores and actually
show what the local owners of those franchises actually do good. So we want to reward those and have a local
score versus a corporate score.
And so a lot of this, as you're developing
this, can be found at second vote.com.
It will eventually in time
be, yes, that's things that are in the future
that we're working on. But all this is actually to
help consumers. This is information
that they would have a difficulty time finding
on their own, talk about people that are OCD that would worry
and fret over it. Our job is to make it
easy, accessible, and to bring it to them
in a packaged way that's user-friendly.
Well, I want to say, folks, this is
exciting. This is really
hopeful. This is a wonderful thing that I can be
excited about where I buy my coffee or about where I buy anything that I can say I'm doing
a little bit of good.
I lately, just because Mike Lindell sells coffee at my store.com, I tell everybody, go to
my store.com, buy your coffee there and use the code Eric.
But that's just coffee, right?
There are all kinds of other products that we buy.
And I just think, what a wonderful thing it is if I know that if I buy this product there,
I'm helping somebody who is doing good.
It's a hopeful thing.
It makes every little thing you do be invested with meaning,
rather than just say, well, I just want to save a little bit,
so I'm just going to shop at these cheaper places.
Because a lot of these big box stores,
not only are they terrible on everything that you care about at second vote
and that most of us care about,
but most of them have canceled Mike Lindell.
They've said, you know, and I think to myself, folks,
we cannot reward these stores that have just decided,
we don't really care about what you care about.
We just care about the bottom line,
or we care about keeping our nose clean with the woke entities
that want to cancel us.
And so we're just going to do whatever they tell us to do
because there are a lot of these companies.
And Rebecca, you know them better than I do, Target and Starbucks and others,
that they really seem to be working against what most Americans believe in.
Absolutely. Did you see after Roe versus Wade how many companies came out? I mean, we couldn't keep up with all the companies that came out and said, we're going to jump on that bandwagon of paying for employees to go out of state to have an abortion.
And that was a huge, huge thing that suddenly all these companies, you know, were saying, that's what we're going to do. We're going to do that too. We're going to pay for employees to go out of state if they have to.
What are some of the big companies that we would know that did that?
Oh my goodness
There was Cisco
There was Starbucks
There was
I mean all the national media brands
I mean
Target all
Like it was
It was
Well to me the biggest surprise
Was Walmart
When they recently did that
Because they originally had said they weren't
And then they turned around
And said they were
Is that what happened?
I believe so
But it's like hey
You want to help kill a baby
Go buy something at Target folks
You've got to
You've got to think that way
That your money
You can go anywhere you want.
This is a free country.
You can go anywhere.
And we have to understand that they made these choices, folks.
We're not trying to punish people just to put it.
They have freely made these choices.
Why?
Because they believe it will benefit them.
Target.
Oh, yes.
And all these companies think that if I do this and this and this and this, I'm virtue signaling and everybody's going to support me.
Well, that's what happens unless you don't support them, unless you understand.
understand that you have a responsibility to make them no, no, there is a price to pay in the
opposite direction. If I make that decision, plenty of people will say, you know what, I was
shopping there, but I will not shop there now because that's a bridge too far. I cannot give
God's money to that corporation because they have made it very clear where they stand.
Well, and also think about it. If they have a pregnant employee, if she were to go full term
and have maternity leave, that would cost them more money than just.
sending her cross-state lines to have an abortion.
How sick is that?
And then at another aspect,
they're opening themselves to me up for a lot of litigation
because if they pay for an employee
to go across lines for one medical procedure,
what about another one that needs a heart transplant
or another life-saving procedure,
and they won't pay for that?
This seems very, very erratic to me.
I don't think that would be a sustainable policy.
Well, again, it's called virtue signaling,
and they're playing a game,
and of course the media generally is on their side.
So we have to use our voices.
we have to be much more vocal.
And anybody who doesn't understand this, I want to be really clear.
Folks, God wants your faith to touch every part of your life.
There's no such thing as a little religious corner.
That's where the devil wants you to keep your faith is in a religious corner.
God wants you to take your faith into every part of your life and to bless people in everything
you do, whether it's buying a product at a store or how you vote or what you say.
publicly. God wants us to live our faith out for his purposes. And if we don't do that, if we say
that, well, I just, I pay a tie usually, and I go to this church and you think you're covered,
I'm here to tell you, no, you're not covered. God requires far more. And he's insulted. He's
offended when we try to play that game and think, well, I've covered it up. I've got a fig leaf
covering up my nakedness. It's good. It's fine. I'm good. No, you're not good. It's not good. So we'll be back
another segment with Rebecca Hatfield,
secondvote.com,
doing God's work.
It's 2ND,
second vote.com.
Please check them out.
Please share it on social media.
This is a real movement.
This is the same.
In a noisy bar and never long
and tried to call you,
but on a midnight watch I realize.
Folks, welcome back talking to Rebecca Hatfield,
who's the president of second vote.
Rebecca, how did you get involved in this?
were you doing before your involvement with second vote?
Well, my background is mostly retail management, accounting, and then also technology
sales.
I came about it by speaking with Dr. Black's assistant, and then she recommended me for this
position, and I became the president.
It was an interesting journey.
Well, Dr. Black is the one who was behind this whole thing, and I met her backstage at the
Huckabee Show in Twitty City in Nashville.
and when I heard this vision, I had her on the program to talk about this,
but when I bumped into you and realized that you're really taking this to next level,
you're being very innovative because of your background.
You've mentioned a whole bunch of things that are very innovative and exciting.
And I'm just so thrilled that they're giving you the freedom to do this,
because there's a lot we can do.
Well, the thing is, we often think of our money as being our money,
but the reality is it's God's money.
And so how we spend it, if we look at it as God's money, like you said,
we have to think about all areas.
Well, it is true. And I think that, you know, most of us we've been living in a, you know, in this decent country for a long time, but we forget that there's been drift where a lot of corporate America has made some bargains with the devil. And we didn't get that memo. We thought everything's fine and we keep shopping when we shop. And then you start realizing, no, our money, which is God's money, is working against us and against God's purposes. And we need to take that seriously.
Amen.
You mentioned a lot of companies.
What are some other companies, Patriot Mobile, Waffle House?
People are excited about that.
Waffle House.
I know I love Waffle House.
Chick-fil-A.
Avis, rental.
These are all good guys.
Who else can we add into that column offhand?
Offhand.
Okay, I'm drawing a little bit of a blank here,
but I know that there are some neutral companies.
I know that Home Depot actually scores fairly well.
They have some policies that I don't agree with.
They've made some really good.
donations on life, which is one of the issues that we score really high. So if a company has some
not so good policies that they donate to life, and a lot of times we get a question about that,
why does Home Depot score so high? It's because they've donated a lot of money to a pro-life
entity. And so that's why their score comes out that way. So a lot of times, like, you know,
for instance, Chick-fil-A, Chick-fil-A was at some time a while back, kind of going a little towards
the left that they have corrected. I wanted to tell Chick-fil-A, just mine your nuggets, you know,
that's what we really celebrate when they just focus on their products, the threes.
You know, if you go to the website and you can search by high to low,
and then you'll be able to see all the scores and all the companies that are the ones that are in the
four range and three and then down.
But like I said, we want to have individuals help us.
They can actually email CEOs directly from our website.
So that's why we need individuals to search on their website for the system they want
and email directly from our website.
site and say, hey, I don't like what you're doing. So we need voices. Collectively, we can do so much more
than individual. I'm getting excited right now. Mothers across America are listening to this program,
and they're going to get involved with other mothers in their communities, because you have a
powerful voice. The money that you spend, folks, you've got to understand. This is God's money,
and he has now made it possible for you to vote with that dollar, how you buy, where you buy.
we have to take this seriously. If you care about America, this is a fundamental way we can transform the country simply by being responsible citizens.
Yes. When in the past, and somebody said, well, that company is, they're gigantic polluters. You have no idea. You know, when you hear about these things, you just do your best, but we need to get busy because we've had our eye off this ball for quite a while.
Rebecca, I'm just so thrilled that you are heading up second vote.
And again, it's the number two, nd, secondvote.com.
Folks, wherever you are, I hope you will make a mental note to go to secondvote.com to get involved in this.
Rebecca Hatfield, thank you.
God bless you.
Thank you very much.
