Today, of course, is not one of those days. Sean Floyd, welcome to the program. Sean, you're trouble. You're trouble. And that's why we're friends. It's you're fun to talk to. I've got to tell my audience, because they don't know this. You're such a jokester. Last night you texted me. I was like about to go to sleep and I see a text from you.

And you're laughing at the fact that a lot of these ultra-progressive Israel-hating pro-Palestinian, quote-unquote, Bonhofer relatives have come out denouncing me as a Christian nationalist that I'm misusing the legacy of Bonhofer. And there's a picture, the progressive Christians that are pushing this insane narrative have a picture of me and you at the pro-Israel rally in Columbia University in New York City. And we're holding up Bonhofer posters. And they're accusing us of misrepresenting Bonhofer. Here we are doing what Bonhofer did, standing up for the Jews.

and they don't like that. These are pro-Palestinian, in many cases, pro-Hamas progressive lunatics who are upset that you and I are speaking out for Israel, because as far as they're concerned, that's just crazy Christian nationalism. That's inciting political violence. Can you believe, like they're talking about us inciting political violence when Hamas did actually, violence to Jews. And we're standing against that.

This is where we are in America, my friend. Yeah, I mean, it's probably one of those you know, fourth cousins, dogs, friend, you know, that somehow heard about, like, I mean, the

the way that they stretch this so far to try to make a connection is so mind-boggling to me. But they believe, like they're nuts. They actually. actually believe this stuff. Yeah, I have no doubt. Yeah, and they don't, and they don't, and they don't want to talk about the, you know, the, you know, 10,000 people marching with us

around Columbia. And who were all Jews, by the way, who were, who were mostly Jews. It was like 90% Jews by the time that the rally was over. The fact that the streets were blocked down, the fact that people were in tears, couldn't believe that we were willing to come and show up for the Jewish people. So, you know, they want to talk about that. want to talk about a couple disgruntled, probably non-existent relatives. You know, it's just, it's classic. They're scrambling. They're, they're grasping, and the narratives are crumbling.

So, you know, they do what they do. I just got called. I don't know if you, I don't know if I sent this to you, but Rolling Stone came out with another big hit piece yesterday on me, which they're for some reason infatuated by. and they called me a but the new term is a Christian supremacist God rocker

so isn't this amazing? Isn't this hilarious? I got to be honest that's kind of a fire title. I might actually change my bio on X and put that, you know,

Christian supremacist God rocker. It's pretty, it's got to flow. It's so, it's so dumb. But I'm, I mean, we have to laugh, and this is why I love you and why we're friends, because you laugh at this. We laugh uproariously at the lunacy, because these people are just writhing.

They don't know. And look, we've all known people like this. Somebody who's so emotional, there's no discussing. They're just, they're crazy. They're emotional. They believe something that's not true, but good luck trying to get them to see the reality. They want to be hysterical. These people actually believe that.

we would want to incite political violence. Like, I guarantee you, they actually believe this. They really believe this. And they're so crazy. And here we are at Columbia University, holding up Bonhofer posters, trying to get people to understand that a true Christian stands up for the Jews. A true Christian stands up for those who are being persecuted. But they don't seem to see that.

I guess they're in their minds, you know, it's Israel that's really mean because it's trying to get, it's trying to kill the terrorists who murdered and raped, uh, Israeli citizens trying to go about their lives. It's, uh, we're living in crazy times, my friend. Yeah. Yeah, we definitely are. And, you know, the anti, you know, it's the same, it's the same characters. Actually, to be really honest, I.

it's the same demonic spirit. So, you know, whether it was, whether it's the, you know, the Antifa guys or, or the, you know, the BLM crew or the pro Hamas crew, it's like birds of a feather flock together. There's a lot of, like, the demonic spirit that fuels that is really the same. and, you know, I've seen these groups more from one thing to the next thing, you know. And I think it's important for Christians, believers, especially now in the height of this election. And, you know, we've got to stand. We've got to heed the words of the Apostle Paul, stand firm. You know, we've got to stand firm in what we believe in.

We've got to stand firm in our worship. We can't be moved. We can't be deterred. We got to have a backbone. And, you know, the thing about most of these guys, as you know, is it's all bark and no bite. They're mostly just coming with tactics of intimidation to silence you. And when you're not going to be silenced, they don't know what to do. And so that's kind of the path that I've taken over the last five years and still here, baby.

Well, it's just what's amazing to me is like in the past, like, in the past, Like, I might have taken this seriously and tried to clarify or try to apologize if I misled or anyway. Like, I'm way past that. Like, you realize these people are, it's the cancel culture. It's a demonic mob that is motivated by hatred, by pure emotion, by fear. They're crazy. And if you, you know, you don't answer a fool according to his folly, they really are just,

they're unhinged. And, you know, by the way, that's the left in America today. The progressive left, they're completely unhinged. Many of them are convinced that Donald Trump is a racist demagogue who, if he ever gets power, will jail his political opponents. And then you think, excuse me, excuse me, he was president for four years. He didn't do any of that. Did you forget that he actually got into the White House and he was there for four years?

And he didn't do this stuff. you're talking about. They don't seem to want to think about that. They don't want to seem to think about the fact that the Biden administration is actually jailed people, friends of mine, for doing nothing. We're in a dark place in America right now, which is why we need to look to God and we need to be serious, understand what we're up against. Now, you, my friend, you've been doing stuff.

I want to talk about this. You've been going all over this country, leading worship and prayer for the nation. Tell my audience what you've been up to. Yeah, so we just actually finished a few days ago, our 50th U.S. Capitol. We've been taking worship and prayer and revival at communion and unity. And we've gone to all 50 U.S. capitals, which every capital in America is a, is a blue city of, really of destruction in many ways. thousands and we've worshipped and we prayed and we've we've you know prescended god and we've had alter calls and it's just been so powerful and so anyway that journey ended on Arizona um in Phoenix this past weekend and we're now marching our way to the Capitol in Washington, D.C., where we're going to be on the National Mall this coming Saturday, which will kind of be the grand finale culmination of this whole. I believe we almost have 20,000 people registered for this Jesus March, where we're going to be marching from the Lincoln Memorial to the White House, around the White House to the Capitol by the Supreme Court to the Capitol, and then from the Capitol down to the National Mall. So it's going to be really historic, really amazing.

We're just feeling so much unity, so much excitement, so much expectation. Of course, we moved all 50 capitals. and so we're finishing the whole thing. And then at 4 p.m. we're going to gather on the National Mall. And it's just going to be powerful. And I'm excited. I feel like there's so much people have such anxiety and tension and even Christians,

you know, what's going to happen? And it's like this is a moment for us to like refocus and re-center. And of course we're going to, we're going to pray and believe that God can use the simplicity of our prayer and our worship to shift things spiritually over America. But we're also just, you know, we're also just declaring, listen, God's on the throne over this country. He's been writing a story, you know, that we don't feel like is over. And so next year, you know, we celebrate the 250, no, 2026, we celebrate the 250th anniversary of America.

And so we're just, you know, a big part of this is coming together and saying, listen, we know God, has more to this story. And we're not giving up for the future of our children's children. We're going to keep pressing in. Well, I have been with you at a number of these types of events. And it's exhilarating. It's joyful. in the name of Bonhofer, I was, because I thought this is what a Christian does. A Christian stands up for Jews who are being persecuted. I am not a Jew, but I stand up for those who are being persecuted, whoever is being persecuted. And you know, Sean, it's interesting to me because we keep talking about the progressive left. They're sort of like atheist agnostic lunatics and they are really full of fear. I've seen this over and over. They really believe that you and I would inciscients. violence. I mean, what amazes me, too, is like, if you've read my Bonhoeffer book, if you read my book on Wilberforce, Amazing Grace, like, how can you read those books and not understand, you know, my heart and the people that I call heroes, Wilberforce and Bonhoffer. But it's so interesting, these people, I've seen, I've seen this over the years. Liberals like this are real leftists, they really are full of fear. It's just an amazing thing. they are convinced that, you know, you're a rabble rouser that would, would, you know,

march on the Capitol and chop Nancy Pelosi's head off or whatever it is. They're convinced of this. And I think that, you know, over time, many of these folks are going to see that they got it wrong. You know, if by the grace of God, Trump gets reelected, which he must, they're going to see, like, oh, yeah, he's not doing all the stuff that they accused him of. it's ironic but you know Christians who don't get this who are not on the same page as you or me if Kamala Harris gets elected they will see that she and Tim Walts will do all the stuff all this horrible stuff that they're accusing pro-Trump people of doing that they will do it

that's what amazes me. That's kind of the, that's kind of the horror. Yeah. I think that we're living in a time where, you know, there's so much biblical illiteracy. And, you know, sadly, I mean, people say, you know, pastors aren't preaching truth from the pulpits. And a lot of that's true, but people aren't going to church. So, you know, their church, their church, their church. their church has become left-wing propaganda.

You know, they've been hijacked by this form that they feel like is empathy, and it's really demonic. It's a demonic lie from the pit of hell. And so, you know, we have to, we really, and this is Eric goes back to why we're doing 50 capitals and why, you know, we need a great awakening. Like this is, this is the only answer for America is. It's how do you fight back against these dark forces that are hijacking the minds of people? We have to have a great awakening.

We have to have a revival. We have to have a movement that captures the hearts of people again. And I see this in capital city after capital city, you know, again, going into these lion dens and seeing the power of God move in a moment on the hearts of man. and the ease at which they throw their drugs and they throw their offenses and they get delivered and they get saved. And, you know, a lot of these people, especially these downtown areas, they definitely do not agree in the ways in which I vote and stand and whatever. But they can feel the presence of God and that really moves their heart. It was funny. One of the last capitals we were in, Raleigh, North Carolina, CNN showed up.

and they started rolling and they did a whole segment which I'll send to you so you can watch it's hilarious where they were kind of bewildered because they were thinking this is you know they were painting this as some mega rally you know Christian nationalist thing and they were like oh wow this is actually really diverse oh wow these people actually really love God oh wow they're praying for each other it was like they were overcome with the fact that like God is actually doing something here And it was undeniable. And so, you know, I think that that is really the answer. I mean, I'm grateful, you know, for us to vote and for us to go around and share policy ideas. And for people that are getting red-pilled for the Elon Musks and the different people in the world, that's all really great. But I think at its core, if we don't have an awakening, if we don't have a spiritual, significant turning to God, I mean, you know, even a Trump presidency, can't hold back what is inevitable. There's no doubt. I say this over and over. Trump is not enough. We have to get him

reelected. But that's just the beginning. That's the starting line to taking back the nation, giving it back to we the people. It doesn't happen overnight if he's reelected. So we have a lot of work to do. Sean, I'm just grateful for your voice. I'm grateful for your boldness, for your for your fearlessness. It's necessary at this time. Seriously, congratulations on that. As an author, I know it's kind of a big deal. And of course, we're here to talk about your brand new book with the title, The Aw of God. That's a big, talk about a big subject. How, what led you to want to address that subject, the awe of God? Barnett did a study in 2022, found out that over 30 million Americans have walked away from the faith.

They're now professing agnostics, atheists, and spiritualists. Eric, I cried out to God. I said, God, what is going on? And God showed me it's the lack of us preaching on the fear of the Lord. Let me just give you three quick scriptures. Isaiah 33, 6, the fear of the Lord is God's treasure. Now think about it. How do we handle our treasures?

How do we look at our treasures? Isaiah 11.3, the fear of the Lord is just. Jesus's delight. The New Testament, Paul said, work out your salvation with fear and trembling, not love and kindness. And so if we step back and we take a look at this, we're talking about God's treasure, we're talking about Jesus' delight, we're talking about the very thing that matures our salvation. Psalm 19 tells us that the fear of the Lord cleans us, and it causes us to endure forever. Lucifer led worship right before the throne, Eric.

He saw the glory of God. He didn't fear God. He didn't endure forever. And what really woke me up to this is when I was in the federal penitentiary with Jim Baker in 1994. Jim Baker, as you know, had the largest ministry in the world in 1980s. I knew of him well. I had never met him in my life. He read the first book I wrote on going through hardship.

It impacted him so deeply. He asked that I would come visit him. So here comes this man who has been on CNN every single night for his trial. the whole world knew him for the wrong reasons. He grabs me, he hugs me, he won't let me go. And he looks at me, he said, did you write this book? I said, yes, sir, I did. He said, we have so much to talk about.

So he sat down in his first statement to me was this, Eric. This prison was not God's judgment on my life. It was his mercy. John, if I would have continued living the way I was living, I would have ended up in hell forever. He said the very first year of prison, God sent a man in here, and he got all the evil. John, there was so much wickedness in me out. And so when he got done telling me his whole story,

I as a young 35-year-old minister, I said, Jim, I have a massive question. I said, at what point did you fall out of love with Jesus? And he said, John, I didn't. I said, hold on a minute. You committed adultery, and I named the woman's name in 1983. You were sentenced in 1989. You're doing all this wickedness. is you're telling me about as the largest ministry in the world. What do you mean you love Jesus all the way through it? He said, John, I didn't fear God. And it hit me like a ton of bricks. And he said, John, there are millions of Americans.

They love Jesus, but they have no fear of God. Jesus's love keeps us from being legalistic, but the fear of God keeps us from lawlessness. And Eric, I'm concerned what is causing so many to fall away from Jesus is the fact that we have preached a grace message that almost, it doesn't encourage, but it permits people to go into a lawless lifestyle. And now Jesus becomes fictitious. His presence is not real.

And so it's more of a club to them and they walk away. Have you written a book about this? Because this is hot stuff. I got to tell you, this is so vital that I'm thrilled to hear you say this. because I've been thinking about exactly this for some time and how, you know, we go through seasons, right? You get people that they're raised in such a legalistic environment that, or there's so much legalism out there

and people preaching kind of legalistically that over time we reject it, but we reject it so much that we go, you know, it's kind of like you go across the road into the other ditch. That's exactly what you're talking about. And honestly, I'm so glad you, have written this book. The title, folks, is the awe of God. Of course, I'm talking to John Bavir. Let me make this point really clear, because I don't want your listeners to get scared, okay?

The fear of the Lord is not to be scared of God. How can we have a relationship of intimacy with somebody we're afraid of? And this is God's number one desire for every one of us, is to be intimate with us. The fear of the Lord is really actually more about being terrified of being away from God. If you remember, Moses said to the people of Israel, when God came down on the mountain, and the people all scream and ran away. Exodus 2020 makes a statement, he says, do not fear, because God's come to test you to see if his fear is in you, so that you may not sin.

So no, wait a minute, Moses, are you talking out of both sides of your mouth? Why are you contradicting yourself? No, what Moses is saying, don't be afraid of God, don't be scared of God, because God's come to see if his holy fear is in you. And by the way, he said so that you may not sin. If you look at Proverbs, chapter 16, verse 6, it says, by the fear of the Lord, one departs from evil, not by the love of God.

That's when I saw that experientially with Jim Baker. He said, John, the love of God didn't keep me from lawlessness. The fear of God keeps me from lawlessness. I believe that's why it's God's treasure. I believe that's why Jesus delighted in it. I want to keep you on for another segment. Folks, I'm talking to John Bevere. Eric. Welcome back. I'm talking to John Bevere. The new book is titled The Aw of God. I've got a lot of thoughts and questions, but the first thing you just said off the air that this leads to a thought or two about the upcoming election, the subject of the awe of God. Absolutely. If you look at the, we are told in Scripture to pray for those in authority, to give thanks for those in authority, to honor those who authority. When Peter said, fear God, honor the king, the king he's talking about is King Herod-A-Grippa 1. He was murdering Christians just to advance his political agenda, yet we're supposed to honor. How do you honor a king like that? You don't honor his behavior. You honor his position. And so when people understand that difference, and that comes from the fear of the Lord because the Bible says the fear of the Lord actually gives us an awareness of the authority

of God, because the Bible is so very clear that all authority is from God. So the behavior is not from God, but the authority is from God. And so that's what you honor. Now, if we're told to do that, how much more on a republic when our forefathers set this up so that godly men and women could give voice into leadership, I believe that the Apostle Paul would have been living in the United States, he would have said also vote. Now, here comes the problem. When people vote, they vote according to personalities, or many of the Christians out there saying I'm not voting at all. To be honest with you, believers are the majority in America. And if you have 20, let's just do 20 people that are godly.

They got the spirit of God in them. And they say, I don't like either candidates. So 15 of them say, I'm not going to vote. And now you got five. And you had 10 ungodly voters. Well, now the ungodly people become the majority. It's not that we're voting for somebody. It's we're voting for what is best for our nation. And so I look at how believers should vote. It should be this. We biblically vote. We don't emotionally vote. And I think the best thing, Eric, is look at the Ten Commandments. The first four of the Ten Commandments tell us to honor God. The question you ask on either candidate, national, state, or local, which one honors God more and which one opposes God. To be honest with you, if I have to choose, and I won't choose probably either candidate,

I'd probably think of somebody better, but I've got to give voice to one. So if I'm choosing either one, I'm going to say, which one honors God more? Because I would rather almost have a transgressor than an opposer. The next commandment is honor your father, mother, which candidate wants to take children away from their family so they can mutilate their body and kill the babies in their room? The next commandment is thou shalt not murder. Well, we've killed 70 million people. I mean, when Mary walked into Elizabeth's house, Elizabeth's baby jumps in her wound when he recognized the baby in Mary's wound. It was just a clump of cells, John.

Come on. Yep, that's what they say. The clump of cells jumped in the womb. You know, the thing is, people have learned to lie with a straight face, and they do it convincingly. And unfortunately, what Christians in America, need is a little more discernment. We are just taking what everybody says at face value, instead of going to prayer saying, God, lead me, I want my voice to be what your voice is. I want to vote according to scripture. So I believe the fear of the Lord gives us because

it's the beginning of wisdom. It's the starting place. In other words, you're not even wise until you walk in the holy, healthy fear of God. Well, I have to say, you know, so many believers when they say, well, I don't like either candidate. The lack of discernment stuns me because we don't have a choice between, you know, George H.W. Bush and Michael DeKakis. We now have a choice that is so stark. We're at a place in the nation so different than it was 30, 40 years ago. And I really think sometimes it's God's mercy the other day at a rally.

Somebody screams out at a Kamala Harris rally, He screams out, Jesus is Lord. And she instantly says, you're at the wrong rally. You need to go to the other one down the street. And I thought a good politician would never say that. But by the grace of God, she said what was in her mind. It comes right out. I'm going to go one step further.

Yes. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. So in other words, you know, yeah, people can, when they lie, they can conjure up a lie. right, right? But when you're in an instantaneous moment like that, out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks, that right there should show every single Christian in America that you're dealing with an opposer, not necessarily. You're dealing with an opposer. Let's just leave it there. Well, and that's why I say, praise God, that we have the clearest choice. I mean, in case you were wondering, in case you were kind of on the fence for whatever reason, you know, but that was a stunning moment.

That was a stunning moment in American politics. I don't think we'll forget that for decades. I believe it's answered prayer. Yeah, no, that's exactly right. That's exactly right because so many people have been fasting and praying for this election. So the title of your book is The Aw of God. We've just got a couple of minutes. But this is big for me, this issue, because I've seen exactly what you're talking about.

People who don't, they don't fear God. They don't fear the consequences of stepping away from God. I mean, it's kind of like, you know, if, you're standing on a ledge and you could fall down 10 stories, there's a healthy fear. You step back because you think, you know what, I could fall and die. It seems like people don't, they don't understand the horror. If you flirt a little bit, the next thing you know, adultery, you lose your family, your children aren't speaking to you. We need to have a healthy fear of transgressing God's laws. And I think that it's simply

important is why I'm glad you wrote the book to remind people that God will not force us to obey him. We need to have a fear of him ourselves. And it is wisdom. It is wisdom. And I would even say that if you love God, if you really know him, of course you fear him. You respect him and you fear him. Just got a minute left, John. Final thoughts, please. So Jesus, part of the Christian experience is Jesus said, I will manifest myself to you, which means he makes himself real. And God has said, I'll walk with them, I'll live among them. But there's a condition. He says, Paul, because in Paul and 2 Corinthians says, having this promises of God living in us and among us,

let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and our motives, perfecting holiness and the fear of God. So true holiness, you know, Eric, let me just say this. I love my wife. And I don't want to commit adultery with my wife because you know what I don't want to lose. I don't want to lose the intimacy. when our heads are on the pillow and she tells me something, she would not tell anybody else. What people give up when they flirt with lawlessness is not only do they risk judgment, but they give up intimacy with God.

And that's the very thing their heart cries out for. So that's why Psalm 25, verse 14, says, friendship with the Lord is reserved for those who fear him. With them, he shares his intimate secrets.
