Starting point is 00:00:09 Welcome to the Eric Metaxos show. It's the show featuring Go Go Go the Chimp. Nothing like a chimp to liven up the radio show. Easy there. Go, go, go, go. No, go, go. Hey there, folks. I'm excited to get Todd Chapman back on the program.
Starting point is 00:00:30 He's with Christian Solidarity International. As you know, we're doing a campaign this month, as we do every year at this time, to free people from slavery, literally. Now, I know we probably have atheist, Marxists that really don't care about slavery. And you're listening to this program, we don't expect you to reach into your pocket. If you don't think that people are made in the image of God and shouldn't be enslaved, we don't expect you to give. But if you're some kind of Christian, obviously you do care about this. And obviously, if we give you an opportunity to help people get out of slavery, literally, we know you're interested.
Starting point is 00:01:10 which is why CSI comes to us every year and says, Eric, talk to your audience. These are wonderful human beings. They actually care about this. There are very few pro-slavery people who listen to the program. So if you're a pro-slavery person, hey, we're not judging you for being evil. God is judging you, but we're not judging you. But if you're not a pro-slavery person, I know you're interested. Todd Chapman, welcome back.
Starting point is 00:01:36 Thanks, Eric. Great to be here. And thank you if you've participated already in this year. campaign to free slaves. We, we've just had a tremendous last couple of days. Yesterday alone, nearly 50 slaves freed by Eric Metaxus listeners. So that's great. We're gaining speed, but we still have a lot of slaves that we're hoping that your listeners can free. And so we invite everyone to be as generous as you can. Two hundred fifty dollar gift, frees one slave, provides them a new start in life in South Sudan. And hopefully the opportunity for us to
Starting point is 00:02:06 reunite them with their family who they haven't seen in decades many times. And yeah, it's a beautiful opportunity to literally save and transform someone's life through CSI. Well, I want to be clear with my audience. As of today, we have had 65 gifts. Now, I know that a lot of people listen to this program. So we've only had 65 gifts thus far. So yesterday we had a bump. But our goal, it's a modest goal, is to free 676 slaves.
Starting point is 00:02:40 $250 is the price to free one slave and to set them up in a life of freedom. You could give $25 a month. That's more than $250 a year. So if you want to do it that way, the website is metaxistalk.com. We've saved or freed 120 slaves thus far. but the goal is 676. So in fact, we're not doing that well in this campaign. And so we need you to step up if you're, again, unless you're pro-slavery, if you're a Marxist atheist that doesn't believe in the dignity of human beings, you get a pass. But if you're not a Marxist atheist who actually is not pro-slavery, we're talking to you. The website is metaxistoctalk.com. Metaxistalk.com. You can see there's a banner there.
Starting point is 00:03:41 When you click on it, it'll take you through whatever you want to give, however you want to give. And I always say it doesn't matter what you give as long as you participate, but this is an amazing opportunity. It's amazing opportunity. I'll give you a phone number in a minute to do this in someone's name
Starting point is 00:03:58 as a Christmas gift. There are people who really, you know, they don't need another whatever. So if you say to them on Christmas morning and when you see them, we did this in your name and you can show them the piece of paper that says we freed a slave in your name what a way to share your faith to say this is real we care about this um so this is um Todd it's an amazing thing how many years have you been working with Christian Solidarity International because you've got a
Starting point is 00:04:29 close up view yeah I've been working with them for about four years now and honestly before I started working with CSI, I didn't even know about the slavery issue in South Sudan, even though it's been going on, you know, for decades now. And I think a lot of people find themselves, yeah, I think a lot of people find themselves in a situation, never heard about this, didn't know that, you know, over 100,000 people were taken into slavery back in the 90s and have lived that way ever since, much less that there's a Christian organization that is working every day to free them and is being very successful. I mean, since 1995, thanks to generous listeners like yours,
Starting point is 00:05:09 we've been able to free over 100,000 people, and we're estimating there's probably still another 30 or 40,000 still enslaved, and so we're going to keep doing this. And with your generosity, we're able to free more and more slaves every year. But, you know, Eric, it's easy to get lost in numbers. I like to talk about the stories of individuals, because I think that's really what we need to focus on. You can give a gift and free a human being right now in the name of Jesus.
Starting point is 00:05:34 And it's insane. I mean, folks, are you listening to this? How amazing this is, that you are able to participate with us. I say this all the time, like that there's this satanic evil, human beings enslaved. Like, it's unbelievable. And then you think, oh, oh, I could do something about it. I mean, it's, I just see this as an amazing opportunity. And that's why I push it so hard. Folks, this is a beautiful thing you get to do. This is unadulterated, wonderful goodness that you get to free somebody. And think, about what we're asking. We're not saying it's $2,000. We're saying it's $250 to free a slave. That's like a dinner for two here in New York. It's crazy. And you can free a slave forever. This is not you free, you buy their freedom for a month. This is forever to free someone and to set them up in a life of freedom. The website is metaxis talk.com. Again, Metaxus talk.com. talk.com and the phone number, some people prefer to call. I will give the phone number. 888-253-3522. 888-253-3522. 888-253-3522. I can't imagine people don't want to do this. I cannot imagine that people wouldn't say, we can do this. Our family, we'll do maybe we'll just do $250 through the year. So we'll give $25 a month. Folks, this is an amazing, beautiful thing. You can get your kids involved and explain to your children, hey, we're Christians.
Starting point is 00:07:10 We believe every human being is made in the image of God and is sacred to God. And we have to do what we can. Historically, it has been Christians that led the abolitionist movement in the 18th century under the leadership of my hero, William Wilberforce. In the 19th century, it has been Christians that led the battle for abolition. Why? Because Christians are different. They believe that every single human being is made in God's image. They don't have an evolutionist Darwinian view that says some people are worth less than others. And we believe in the free market. We don't believe in what the Bible says. No, this is, it's an amazing opportunity in our own day to participate in an abolitionist movement and to free slaves because we believe that the God who made us made them. And so the way, the website is metaxis talk.com. You'll see the banner there. And I say this again, folks, you know, you can, some of you, maybe can't give $250, you can give something. Some of you can give multiples of that. Some of you can give $1,000 to free for human beings and set them up in a life
Starting point is 00:08:25 of freedom. And I say anybody out there that can give $15,000, this is tax deductible. I will have dinner with you, we'll figure it out in your town or our town or whatever. We do this every year somebody steps up and it's my privilege to take my valuable time. It's become insanely valuable, but it's my privilege to take my time and to spend it with people because you care and you've expressed your caring in this way. We've just got a minute left, Todd. Talk a little bit just for 40 seconds about how we set them up in a life of freedom once they are free. Yeah, so four or five times a year we have negotiated the freedom of these slaves and we marched them en masse, you know, two, three hundred at a time into South Sudan where we have
Starting point is 00:09:14 a camp where we gather them together. We document their story. A lot of times some of these people don't even know what their original name is, much less who their parents were, where they're from. We try to reunite them with their family if we can. And then we set them up with grains and a sheet. goat and supplies to start a new life because they've got to have something to go to. We can't just get them out and say, okay, you're on your own.
Starting point is 00:09:36 We don't do that. We try to get them back with their family, with their community. And if we can't, we've got communities of slaves who have all been freed and they form their own communities. It's a new start in life. Many of them now, women bringing children with them into freedom. That's a new thing we've been able to do in the last couple of years. So we can't do it without you.
Starting point is 00:09:54 So thanks for giving. Please go to metaxistalk.com. ataxistalk.com, ataxistock.com. So you're putting money away, saving for the future, for retirement, for your family. Starting point is 00:11:51 Metaxistock.com. Or 888-253-2522. you. The other outside is frightful, but the fire is so darnful. I get to talk now to someone that I met at an event. I meet so many people, many of you listening to this program, I meet you at these events and we talk and it's such a blessing to me. I'm signing books or whatever it is.
Starting point is 00:12:23 We get a picture. And I get to hear so many people's stories. And so it was not so long ago that I mentioned. met my next guest, Suzanne Guy. She is a pro-life advocate. She has a story that I want her to share on the program. But I remember talking to Suzanne about starting a pro-life ministry at her church. That's what we were talking about. So I want to talk about all that stuff. But Suzanne Guy, welcome the program. Nice to see you again. Eric, it is great to be with you. It's great to see you. And I cannot thank you enough for having me. and I cannot thank you enough for truly being God's megaphone to the world,
Starting point is 00:13:07 but so specifically to energize the church in general to take meaningful action and take a stand for the things that matter to God. You are making such an incredible impact and cannot thank you enough. That means a lot to me because I try and I know God has called me to this, but you always wonder whether you are in fact making an important. impact. You know, I guess we'll know when we get to glory and then we won't care because we'll be in glory. But it's, it means a lot to me because I have, you know, I've spoken about how the church needs to wake up wherever I can go. And so I think I saw you at TPUSA Pastures event where I was talking
Starting point is 00:13:49 about that. Yes, that was it. Good memory. But I don't remember where. Where was that? Maybe. That was in Atlanta, Georgia. Oh, okay. Obviously. That's so the, yes. And you're in you're in the Atlanta area. Okay, so Suzanne Guy, I want to talk to you about two things. I want your story. And then you talked about starting a pro-life ministry at your church. Is it, are a lot of churches, maybe they don't have pro-life ministries at the church? Is that part of what's going on here? Eric, that is very much what is going on here. I would say in general, most churches do not have a distinct pro-life ministry. I'm not talking about a separate 501c3. I'm talking about a ministry that's a part of the fabric of the church the same way many churches might have a homeless ministry, a drug addiction
Starting point is 00:14:42 ministry, a single mom's ministry, but most churches do not have a distinct pro-life ministry. And why do we think that is? Is it because they're gutless? I mean, can it be what, why would they not have a pro-life ministry? Would they say, well, we support some pro-life ministries? Maybe they don't even do that. I mean, because a lot of times my wife, also named Suzanne, she ran, you know, what we call a crisis pregnancy center here in Manhattan for years. And she was always trying to get into the churches to try to get them to be on board. And sometimes they weren't really that excited or they just. And so you're talking about even going to the next level of actually having a pro-life ministry in a church. And I have to say,
Starting point is 00:15:25 to my audience, if you're going to a church that doesn't, that isn't, that isn't a open to something like this. Why are you going to that church? I mean, this is as basic an issue as there is. So what's the name of the church where you have the pro-life ministry, where you created a pro-life ministry? And Eric, God bless your wonderful wife, Suzanne, and God bless you for that exhortation to people if they're attending a church that is not doing something like that. And at least give the pastor a chance to say yes or no. But if the answer is no, I would suggest finding a new church home too. My wonderful church is First Baptist. church of Woodstock, Georgia. And when I first went to my pastors around six years ago,
Starting point is 00:16:06 honestly had been doing this kind of unofficially for years before that. But when I went to them, shared the need, share what an incredible ministry this could be for the church to reach women to help equip the body of believers without batting an eye. They were all in. And Eric, you asked probably what is the single most important question. Why aren't churches doing? this. And I will tell you, my church made it so easy and they were so on board. They saw the beauty. They are experiencing the fruit of their yes to God and this. But they almost made it so easy that when I go to other churches to talk about this, it's not always that easy. And I think some of the reasons are, one, I have had different church leaders at other churches say to me,
Starting point is 00:16:55 Suzanne, that's political, we're not political. And it really goes to something that you so beautifully speak to all the time. And I will say to them, you know what, slavery was biblical. It was against God's heart to do this to human beings. It's a biblical issue, not a political issue. Right. So, yeah, would you say like, oh, we don't take a position on slavery? Would you go a church that doesn't take a position on slavery? Neither should you go to a church that doesn't take a position on the civil rights issue of our day, which is murdering the unborn in their mother's wombs, the bizariness of it,
Starting point is 00:17:33 that there are churches that shrink from the most basic moral issue. It's so basic. But again, this is, you know, we talked, Suzanne, about this, that that's the horror of the American church. It's why I wrote my book letter to the American church and a religiousist Christianity because you have to speak, we have to speak on this issue,
Starting point is 00:17:51 and we have to call out these churches, but more than calling out the churches, because, you know, what is the church? Ladies and gentlemen, if you claim to be a Christian, you're the church. And so for you to give your money to some church that is not taking a bold stand on this, that's God's money. And I think it's a sin to give God's money to a church that will not take a bold stand on these most basic of issues. This is the most basic issue.
Starting point is 00:18:21 But that's kind of where we are. There are tons of people listening to this program who go to those churches. saying, well, we've been going there our whole lives. Like, what does that even mean? Like, who cares? If you're going to a mosque your whole life, maybe it's time to get out. If you're going to a church that is not doing God's will, maybe it's time to get out. I have to say that, you know, if you make an idol of tradition or inertia, God's a judge.
Starting point is 00:18:43 You're not supposed to make an idol of anything. You're supposed to worship him. So this is as central as it gets. And so that's so brave of you. What gave you the idea, Suzanne, to start a pro-life ministry in your church, which you said is First Baptist Church. Church, Woodstock, Georgia. What gave you that idea? Well, first can I say a big fat amen to everything that you just said, and I'm going to take
Starting point is 00:19:02 excerpts of what you said and share it everywhere. God bless you for what you just said. Honestly, I started working at a pregnancy resource center. Well, it goes back even farther than that. Three doctors told my husband and I, 26 years ago, that our daughter had chromosomal abnormality not compatible with life when she was inside the womb. And they said that this was a lethal diagnosis that she would never live. And their only option was to abort her. And no matter how many ways we said, no, no, no, they kept saying, you don't understand, you have no choice. This is what you need to do. And 26 years ago, you were pregnant with your daughter. Yes. And how many doctors said this? Three. Okay. Three doctors, counseling.
Starting point is 00:19:52 you to kill your child because it's a preemptive strike, folks. You don't want her to die. She's going to die. So why don't you kill her? I mean, what is the logic of that? No logic. It's sickening. It's disturbing. And Eric, the thing, we chose life. Praise God. And she is alive and vibrant and this amazing Jesus-loving young woman at 26 years old today. Nothing was wrong with her except that all my amniotic fluid was gone. But even if she had everything that they said she was still valuable and she was still worth fighting for. Our children do not become disposable because of a diagnosis and ending their lives is not medical care, is not Christ-like, is not a solution. And it's a sickening indictment on our medical community and society that
Starting point is 00:20:42 they think death is a solution to a child having a prenatal diagnosis. I got to say, you know, when I hear this, I have heard over. the years over and over and over and over. I've heard this over and over and over folks. I promise you, tons of people came up to me over the years and I've said the same thing. They said, doctors said, we had to abort our child because of this and this and this and this. And they said, you've got to do it. You've got to do it. They refused to do it. And the child didn't have any of the stuff the doctors said. So, Suzanne, you just said it, even if your child did have this stuff. You're not going to abort. You're not going to kill your child. But I have heard,
Starting point is 00:21:26 I cannot tell you how many times I have heard this. Doctors are often the handmaidens to evil. They are giving you information, which is wrong. They think it's right. They have no idea that they're doing the devil's work. They give you information. They try to bully you into taking action, even though your conscience says, no, I can't do this. And they try and try and try and try and they have the facts in front of them and they say, this is what's going to happen, and that's what's going to happen. And I have heard this over and over exactly what you said. I cannot tell you how many times I've heard this. People come up to me and say, the doctors were insisting we had to do this. This is what's going to happen. Our kid's going to be this and this
Starting point is 00:22:07 and this and this. And when the kid is born, none of this stuff is the case. Now, how bizarre it is. We're going to have another segment with Suzanne Guy, but I just want to say, folks, it's a shocking thing. can be wrong. Doctors can be wrong. And I don't know how many times, but it's happened to me over and over that people come up to me, tell me this kind of story. This is over 30 years that the doctor insisted we had to abort because this, and it turned out the doctor was totally wrong. That's the devil trying to kill human beings. It's just amazing. We'll be right back talking to Suzanne Guy. Folks, I've got to be realistic about my diet in December. It's got to be the worst month of the year in terms of eating.

Nutrametics.com, use the code, Eric for 15% off. Folks, welcome back. I'm talking to Suzanne Guy. She's a pro-life advocate. She started a pro-life ministry at her church in Marietta, Georgia. And we're trying to get people, Suzanne, that's why I want to have you on here, to understand
Starting point is 00:25:21 that churches should have a pro-life ministry. But before we continue along those lines, I want to get back to your story. So three doctors insist that. that your kid is going to be born 26 years ago with this horrible, horrible, horrible stuff and is going to die so you have to have an abortion. You refuse. Right. And you're telling me even after all that, your child is born without the stuff, they said?
Starting point is 00:25:47 Correct. And let me just say this. We ended up by the grace of God, thanks to a very dear friend who happened to be a pro-life OB-GYN. I did not know. My husband and I had no idea. There were pro-life OBGYNs. We thought all OBGYNs were pro-life.
Starting point is 00:26:03 We thought we got some rogue, crazy doctors, and we didn't realize until people were finding out about our story that just like what you said, Eric, this is a common thing in the medical community to dehumanize these children's lives. So these doctors washed their hands of us, said the only tests they would offer us would be an autopsy, and our precious friend got us into the hands of doctors who said,
Starting point is 00:26:28 we will honor their request to fight for their daughter, and they saw two patients, both patients. They didn't just see me. They saw our daughter, and they fought for us both. And 14 weeks early at the 26th week, emergency C-section, one pound, two ounces, she was born. She was very sick because she was very early and very underweight, but they fought for her.
Starting point is 00:26:56 And that's the whole point. What has happened to our society that we put value judgments on children based on their location in the womb, heavily targeted in the womb, and based on their health status? Again, she was valuable, even if she had everything that they thought was wrong with her. She was still worth fighting for. She was still made in the image of Almighty God. And when these things are talked about from the pulpit at churches, when a church has a defined, pro-life ministry that can talk about these kinds of things to educate and equip the body and then send them out to be disciples of the gospel and of the truth. Then moms in crisis, moms in
Starting point is 00:27:39 unwanted pregnancies are unplanned. Hear the truth and they are given hope. And that is one of the many ways God wants to use the church. That's why it's so important that churches are vocal from the pulpit and that they give credibility to pro-life by having a define distinct ministry because that says to everybody within the body of believers, you have a role to play. You have a duty to do something. Well, it's unbelievable. I still can't believe how many times I've heard this story where people tell me that these doctors were insisting we need to have an abortion. And the people who said, no, I don't do that. We don't do that. And then everything that doctor said was wrong.
Starting point is 00:28:24 The child is born and up, suddenly all these things were not the case. How crazy that doctors would insist on something and then be wrong about it. So what led the doctors to diagnose your child with the stuff that your child ends up not having? I mean, how can they explain that? Great question. At my 22-week ultrasound, half my amniotic fluid was gone. And that's when one of the doctors said, your child must have it. And I'd never even heard this language before.
Starting point is 00:28:56 Your child must have a chromosomal abnormality not compatible with life. Your life is in danger. Your child is not going to live. And then two weeks later, when we came back after refusing an abortion at that doctor visit, they said all the amniotic fluid was gone. Your child definitely has a chromosomal abnormality not compatible with life. So they made assumptions based on, I mean, it was a very serious situation to have no amniotic fluid. but they made all kinds of assumptions.
Starting point is 00:29:26 And again, abortion is not health care. You don't tell parents that get bad news about their child that the solution to their child's crisis health care moment is to end the life of that child. That is not health care. Health care is your child is sick. Your child may have issues. We are going to fight.
Starting point is 00:29:46 And we are going to fight and fight for both mother and child to protect both and give both the best health care. These doctors need to stop acting like ending the life of a child. Killing a child intentionally is health care. That violates the Hippocratic Oath. That is insanity to tell people that killing a child is a form of health care. It's mind-blowing. And again, I've heard this so many times.
Starting point is 00:30:14 So your daughter is now, how old? 26, vibrant, healthy, not a thing wrong with her. and she does sidewalk outreach outside of an abortion clinic, reaching out to moms telling them about the love of Jesus and the hope. And Eric, I have a really quick story to share. One time she and I were outside. And a woman drove up in her car. Usually if somebody drives up right next to us, they're about to yell at us.
Starting point is 00:30:40 And I am passionate about talking to angry pro-abortion people because I really believe I was once misguided in college on this issue. I have such a heart for them. and she says, I know why you're doing what you're doing, and we talk, and I introduce myself, and she kind of smiles and says, I didn't expect you to be nice, and I laugh, and I say, well, to be honest, I didn't expect you to be nice. And then the moment got very serious, and she pointed to the Planned Parenthood in front of me behind her. And she said, where will women go if this place closes because you wanted to close?
Starting point is 00:31:13 And I said, I owe you an apology. And I said, the church owes you an apology. I said, we haven't done a very good job letting you know that women can go to the church. And she said, the church, and I said, the church loves women in crisis. The church is there to help moms in crisis. Pregnancy Resource Centers, too, but I was trying to make the point that the body of believers cares about these women. Planned parenthood does not care.
Starting point is 00:31:44 We have to, we have to leave it there. I've been talking to Suzanne Guy. You can contact her at First Baptist Church, Woodstock, Georgia. God bless you. Thank you, Eric. God bless you for all that you do and the impact that you're making. Hey, folks, the story of My Pillow is a testament to faith and transformation. Starting point is 00:33:10 theoretically. Some of you out there listening to this program, you may know Kevin McCullough by another name. That name is Votesodendamus. Thank you, Chris Himes. Votes Jadamas. But today, We're just talking to Kevin. So, Kevin, here's the thing. You and I were fans of Christian Solidarity International. They're doing amazing work. It doesn't really get more amazing than freeing slaves.
Starting point is 00:33:38 If somebody says, I'm against slavery. How would I free a slave? Good luck. I have no idea how many years and the effort that CSI has put into creating the network of people who can reach out to these Falani herdsmen, to these radical Muslims. who own Christian slaves. They have done that. They are involved in this. All they need is for people listening to this program to step up and to give them whatever you can give them. Every $250
Starting point is 00:34:11 frees a slave and sets that person up in a life of freedom. This is an outrageous opportunity for us to live out our faith. It's just beautiful. As of today, we are only at 5% of our goal. I don't know, Kevin, how to exhort people to step up. I will give the phone number and the website is metaxis talk.com. You can see the banner. But I never know how to move people to do that because it just seems to me like such a beautiful thing.
Starting point is 00:34:48 I want everyone to participate. Not everybody can give $250 or $1,000 or whatever, but everybody can participate. You can give monthly, which is much easier if you say, well, we'll just do this every month and do it as a family or something. But, Kevin, you have for years been involved with CSI, and you know the work they do. There are very few organizations on planet Earth that I say that I genuinely love.
Starting point is 00:35:14 But CSI is one of those organizations. And the reason that I do is because, they enter into a person's life where they are at the lowest point they can possibly be at. And when they work their miracle, that Jesus allows them to work, that person comes to a brand new place in this life that they never thought they could be. So let me just tell you about A book. A book is a woman who was taken when she was roughly six years old. She and her sister and her mom and her dad and her two brothers were all victims of a raid on their village in the Sudanese Civil War. They were harshly rounded up.
Starting point is 00:35:58 Their house was burned in front of them as they were forced to march towards Sudan. The Sudan, and now we have two countries, Sudan and South Sudan. But it was all one Sudan at the time, but into the north, they were forced to march. And she witnessed her father and her brothers, both. be shot and killed in front of her as a six-year-old girl. She endured seeing her mother be gang raped at the hands of multiple Sudanese, Arab jihadis, that just took sport in it. It wasn't anything caring or nice at all.
Starting point is 00:36:37 It was just, we're just doing it for fun. And out of that, she was taken to a village in the north, and then she was immediately sold from one slave master to another slave master. So she ended up kind of being ping ponged away from her sisters and her mother. And she spent the next 17 years being ritually raped, abused, physically beaten, verbally accosted, starved much of the time. There was nothing more than crumbs for most days. If she ever spoke up to defend herself, it was more beatings.
Starting point is 00:37:17 It was more lashings. When she reached the age of adulthood, she was told that in order to be a good Muslim woman, she had to go down to the little creek that was behind where the Flavestor's house was. She was given the rusted lid of a tid can, and she was told to circumcise herself. And I'm trying to be as family-friendly as I can for those that are listening. But the idea that she had any autonomy, any sovereignty over her own decisions, any ability in her own life to speak for herself was robbed from her. And as time went by, she grew very depressed. She was raped repeatedly by not only the slave master, but the slave master's son. And in the process,
Starting point is 00:38:03 became pregnant on more than one occasion. In the process of having those children, she weaned them, and then the slave master took them from her. So even the child that God had put inside of her body, she was not allowed to have. And then at one point in time, she was out retrieving water on a very hot day, and a CSI Arab retriever was there. He spotted her. He could kind of tell by looking at her that she was a slave. He engaged in negotiations with her owner. He was able to secure her release.
Starting point is 00:38:33 She was able to be liberated in a CSI liberation push. She was able to go back to South Sudan, where the first stop on the way back, they go to a recovery camp where they're given medical attention, counseling. they're allowed to remember their name. Many of their names have been changed from their Christian name to their Muslim name. They're allowed to tell their story and write it down so they have a history of what they've been through. They're allowed to take the time needed to eat, to regain strength, to have medical things done if needed, to talk to counselors, et cetera. And then after that period of that season, and it's different for almost every slave that comes in. But after that season is kind of completed, then they're given what's called the bag of hope, and that's what the $250 provides.
Starting point is 00:39:19 But it's not just a bag. It's way more than a bag. Because you get a year's worth of sorghum grain. You get a year's worth of seed to plant for the following seasons years' worth of sorghum grain. And then you get everything you need to start your life, tarps, blankets, utensils to garden and cook and clean and fish with. You get a Bible that's hopefully in your language. You get blankets to keep you cool in the time when the nights get very cold. There's a whole host of things that you're given.
Starting point is 00:39:45 And not the least of which is the last thing is a she goat. Now, many times that she goat can be mated with a male goat back in the village wherever you're relocated at. And guess what? Two goats plus time makes more goats. So over time, you actually develop a little micro enterprise for that person. And at the end of this, when they're given this package, then they are helped to be. be transported down to wherever their home is in South Sudan. And the party just begins. The church, the village, the family members, if there are any left, if not, former slaves that live in the
Starting point is 00:40:20 same area, all come together. They have, they have, it's like the prodigal son on steroids. They cannot stop rejoicing that a slave has been released and returned home. I cannot believe this. I mean, folks, what more do you need to hear? Go to metaxis talk.com, please. The phone number, you can dial it right now or write it down 888 253 3522. 888-253-3522. Please, folks, do this. 888-253-3522 or go to metaxisotachistocot.com. God bless you. Folks, welcome back. I am talking to my friend Kevin McCullough.
Starting point is 00:41:19 We're talking about CSI. Kevin, you just told us. such an amazing story. And I have to say... I just told you the first part of it. There's still more of it. There's more? Okay.
Starting point is 00:41:30 Yeah. It is so moving to me that we get to do something about this, which is why I exhort my audience. Folks, take advantage of this. Please take advantage of this. I don't know what you can give. I will say it again, anybody that can give big, like $15,000, which would free 60 slaves. Mm-hmm. I will, you know, spend the evening with you, have dinner.
Starting point is 00:41:58 We can do this any place around the country. I just can offer my time and my evenings, which have become insanely rare, that I get to do this. But I will do this. It's one thing that I can do if anybody wants to give a big gift, tax deductible, $15,000. Most of us cannot afford that. But whatever you can afford, this is so beautiful. $250 does everything. So, Kevin, continue with the story.
Starting point is 00:42:20 You've just got three minutes. So, a book, she went through the intelligence. entire process. And as she was being released and she got to the camp and she got her stuff together, she said to the staff, what about the others? And as rejoicing as she was and as happy as she was to be back in her homeland and to be headed home to see her family, she was very, very concerned about the other slaves that were still there. Now, just up until about two years ago, CSI had no way of getting a child that had been born in slavery released. But as of two years ago, we have now had a few dozen of those children located and returned to their mothers to join them in their life in the homeland of South Sudan.
Starting point is 00:43:08 And so that's part of what's going on. There's another friend of Aboogs that was liberated in the same liberation group as she was. And she was actually pregnant as she was being released. and she told the CSI worker at the border camp, she said, I don't have anything held against the baby that's in my body. God gave me this baby. My slave master made me pregnant, but God gave me this baby. And he's a gift. And I will spend my life being his good mother if God allows me to have him.
Starting point is 00:43:40 These are the lives that you're stepping into. These are the women who have had for years, prayers, secret private. prayers that they had to pray in private, asking God to liberate them, to free them, to give them their lives back. And many of them say, I didn't know if God would answer my prayer, but they have been answered and they are being answered. And before the end of the year, Eric, your listeners can take assurance of this. There is one more liberation that is just around the corner. We cannot release details on when it will happen or how it will happen or anywhere for the safety of those involved. But there is one coming. And if you give to Eric's show today, you will be part of
Starting point is 00:44:17 that liberation. And there will be hundreds of slaves liberated. We're doing this on my show as well. And it's not nearly as impressive as yours, Eric. But last year, we came right up to the 5,000th slave, human being that my listeners have helped give new lives to. And if you think about that, and if you think about how much potential every human life has to give that gift to someone as a Christmas present this year, you couldn't do a better thing. So that's why we're all in. The McCullas, we're not perfect at this, but over the last four years, we've made it our goal to liberate a slave once a month as part of our systematic giving plan as a household. And again, we're not perfect, but for the majority of those four years, we've been able to do that every month. And it's one of the best things we've ever done.
Starting point is 00:45:03 Folks, I know that everybody's in a different place, but everybody can do something. Whatever you can do, please, folks, join us in this beautiful, beautiful. beautiful thing. Go to metaxis talk.com. You'll see the banner there. You click on it. It'll walk you through everything.
